I think fans found it hard to get energized and behind it, whereas with Eriola's high intense pressing, that is naturally going to get the fans up. And so I think I would expect the atmosphere and feel to be electric again. It kind of got to the point where last season where European nights you could expect a really good atmosphere, but the Premier League it was stale and you could hear it. No, I've had this at Tottenham with Manchester Play, but I'm like, footwear, it does impact the atmosphere. I think at certain stames like yours and new car saw as another good example, it needs a high kind of intensity football match to get the best out of the crowd. I think there's very little doubt that and Eriola is going to bring that for you. Do you visualise a title charge at all? Because I guess let's put it here that you win those first five games, which includes the fifth game as a trip back to Bournemouth. People will talk about it then at that point. You see, I know your saying is almost like a free hit shot at this year and kind of low expectation. You must be fitting your back, you might know who is going to challenge Arsenal like it could be us. I don't think so. No, I thought you'd win the league two years ago, right? Very true, but I think the squad and the position of the squad that slot took over from Klopp is in a very different state to what Eriola was taking over from slot. I think the lack of depth as we go through the season, there's obviously going to be injuries. There are already injuries and if you get more injuries, there just isn't the quality to back it up. Let's say EZAC gets injured before a Cateeca comes back. We have no centre forward that has a prolific scoring record, so what on earth are we going to do? I just don't think, I don't think that the squad's in a good enough position. I think there's too much transition to happen for us to have consistent results. So that might be pessimistic, but I think a title charge is not realistic at all. No, fair. The other concern with Eriola, who I must reiterate, I really, really like, is the question of whether his football would be sustainable for midweek football with Premier League football. So at the moment, what we've got is high intensity expectation versus manager going to manage into Premier League and the Champions League. And those who've managed it best, truthfully, do lower their intensity, a little bit to manage to schedule. I suspect to start with, you probably won't. You'll probably go through it and then you'll probably learn what you can get out of them and what he can't. You big players gone, Mo Salah, I didn't have it on my bingo card that you'd end up at Trebson Sport. And please, from a neutral perspective, that it was able to say by properly rather than the message that's like it back in December, how does Mo fit for you in terms of legendary status on reflection? And I guess the best FPL player ever, probably. Yeah. In terms of me personally, he's probably second highest amongst Liverpool legends behind Stephen Gerrard. And that's only because of what I've seen in my lifetime. Obviously, the likes of Kenny Delglish in the history of the club would be above Salah, but I can only speak on what I've seen. So, Stephen Gerrard from his number one, he can't do anything wrong. He is the Messiah. But for what Mo did over those years, the consistency he showed was, it felt like never injured. Obviously, there's a little bit of injury in the last season. That's natural as your age. But he was so consistent, trustworthy. He gave us some of the best moments, some of the greatest goals. And he will be a saw miss, but I do think on reflection with Iriola coming in and what he expects. It was the right time for him to leave. And as you say, it did look like it was going to leave a little bit in a sour sense with the issues he had with slots. So, I am glad he got say goodbye. And the same with Andy Robertson, who I have to admit, I haven't listened to the Spurs podcast. So, I'm not sure what your thoughts are on how many minutes he's going to get. But from what I've read about Vander Ven play left back, I'm a little bit concerned that he's got the Spurs not to start every week. And we could have kept him as a real leader. Well, that's that's interesting. We can speak about Robert a little bit. I think as it stands, I'm pretty confident he's going to start the season. I don't think he's joined Tottenham on any basis that he's not going to play regularly. I think the idea that you're going to get for it, it games out of Andy Robertson. That's probably passed, but we obviously don't have European competition. We have another left back who's regularly injured, unfortunately, in Destiny, you doggy. Yes, Mickey can play that position, but I think on what I've seen preseason, Robo will start. How long that lasts. I'm not sure. I'm pleased to suggest that you suggest you're like, maybe could have kept told of him for another year. I mean, maybe probably think he's of a higher level than Schimmick has maybe, but what I've heard from a lot of Liverpool fans is what he's botched. So I think he's obviously lost a yard of pace and part of his greatest ability on the clock was just how fast he would be able to get bomb on in the attack and the jewel of him and Trent and the assists. Obviously, those days are past him, but he's got so many qualities as a person as well as a player that I just think as a player in a squad, he can still do a job on the pitch, but also having him in the squad is brilliant for squad morale. So I think he will be missed from our perspective. Yeah, Tottenham had the real problem with leadership and stuff. Did you as interested in mentioned about, oh, maybe Robertson should have stayed for another year. It's worth saying probably at the point decisions were made. Probably didn't know what was happening with Arne Slark. Robertson obviously nearly joined Tottenham in January. The player has admitted that himself. Having seen Salah rock up at Trabson's for, did you have any bit of thinking he should have stayed with us for another year? Even if it was more as a bit part? The problem with my is I don't think that he can accept being a bit part because his head is still 21 years old and can do all the things he used to do. We don't have a right wing player with it in on the books. We seem to have quite a few left wingers and we seem to be going for more left wingers. And so maybe from the lack of depth perspective, yes, but I think it's a fresh start under Eureola and the style of football that he wants to play would not have suited Mohs ability now at his age. So I would rather he left now, sort of more in a positive light than have stayed for another season. And I don't think he would have accepted lack of playing time and so it would have maybe spiraled from there. Fair. Ibrahim Akhanati also gone to Real Madrid. Obviously all three of these players all leaving on free transfers. So not really been any money in coming to the club as yet. Are you expecting anyone else to go? That almost seems daft considering we're looking at this at the moment going, actually maybe the squad is a bit thin in certain areas. You mentioned no backup to ESAG. But I guess as it stands now, the player that probably would play up front in ESAG's absence is probably Cody Gackpo who has been heavily linked with my club repeatedly. Can you see anyone else leaving like that? I think if Bradley Barclay comes in, I don't think that will affect Gackpo leaving. I think that is a separate issue. I think if we were to sign someone like Ibrahim and By who have obviously been linked with then maybe Gackpo might be allowed to go but like you say, if ESA gets injured, Kieza can maybe play through the middle but he's very injury prone and he's not prolific either. So I don't know if they will allow Gackpo to go. I think it very much depends on if they find someone separate from Barclay. The other potentials Curtis Jones has obviously been linked with Inter Milan and if he goes, there won't be a replacement for him as far as I can see. Trainioli's had a fantastic preseason and to be honest, I would be quite happy for us to let Curtis go if Trainioli is going to get more minutes. Jones and Elliott, their contract is expired next season anyway so I think it makes more business sense if Jones is going to go to get some money for him now then let him go for free next season. Well, Elliott is near enough homegrown, you sign it with £15 or £16. Jones homegrown, you get the full whack of money for these guys as well. You can't really let them go to free transfer next summer. Exactly and we've done, there's been enough of it. I think there's 10 players next season whose contract's all expired so yeah that's one thing that's sort of been a red flag in the last season or two obviously let me try. What's worrying you most? -The wings, to be honest. I think the loan of a railho is sensible. I can see why they haven't gone out and bought someone. Because Jekkein Leonia, both coming back from injury, are both highly sort of thought of young prospects and they want to give those two players the opportunity to develop and obviously if you buy someone that's kind of going to stunt their development a little bit. Also, with the a railho deal, we've got the option to buy next summer, but we also have the option to buy back Cheryl Konser. I would assume that they're going to maybe won't see how a railho gets on with us and how Konser does at Labour Cooson and. -Is that specifically next summer with Jura Konserden? -We could have bought him back this season. I think this season it was 67 million or something around that, but next season it goes down to 52 million. -Okay. -My business point of view, it makes more sense. -I can see that then. Obviously, he's Konser's 24 at the moment, is he, so that you know, be going into the peak years of his career and it would make more sense. So yeah, obviously you've got Joe Gomez constantly injured. It feels like our centre back situation is a mess, but at the same time I can understand the club's stance of there's no point going out and buying a centre back because we've got. -Yeah. -We'll be back in the autumn, Jacque's back in training, so it doesn't make sense to go out and spend that money. -Yeah. So, in terms of permanent signings, it's just Minas Jacque. We'll come back onto Minas in a moment. Jacque, obviously, deal was done in January, but with a railho coming in now on this loan from Barcelona, what's the expectation here in terms of who's first choice for right-sided centre back alongside Van Dyke or is the answer both? -I'm going to be honest with you, I have absolutely no idea because. -Cheers, Lauren. -Louff of them have had injuries in pre-season. Haven't had minutes. We expect both of them to get their first pre-season minutes at the weekend, and so I would imagine it will probably depend a lot on how they both look to Ereola. If I had to guess now, I'd say probably around how he would start because he's the more experienced, but that was absolutely no basis of knowledge other than a pure guess. -Yeah, okay. You've even seen Jacque in obviously a Liverpool show. It feels like a rawhoe was possibly killed off the idea of Jacque being a massive saving on Van Dyke, unless we've got some clarity over the next week or so. -I'm interested in the rawhoe that's been added to the game at 5.5. When Jacque is 5, I find that quite interesting, actually. I don't think a rawhoe will end up appealing, I don't think. What do we know about Victor Munoz? Obviously, Simon from Ross Verstuunna was in the Spain World Cup squad, so again, I haven't really seen him around at Liverpool. I haven't seen him play at all. -He's a very versatile. He can play on both wings and he balanced his minutes between left wing and right wing last season. He did also play a handful of games in centre forward position. I think from our perspective, it's really good to have a player that we can play anywhere across the front free. He's quick. He likes to progress with a ball. I read a stat that his ball progression was, I think, he was fourth in LaLiga and the only free players ahead of him were Ben Bappé and Vinny Junior and Luminumau. -But they're all shit. -Yes. -Rubbish. I would say for the opposite of Gakpo, he is going to run up players and run to the bar line. -I know you lot will hate Gakpo, just let me take him. -Just very frustrating. You'll probably see it when he's on the line. I've got Johnny Tellymi, he'll drive Savinio down. You lot are telling me you'll drive Gakpo down. Right, fine. Can you not see this desperate man will take anyone at this moment. I guess Munna was talking about covering this. It's interesting though. You're almost saying he might end up being the cover. -Yeah, although. -If you look at his goal scoring record, it's not very good. He's not been signed to score goals. He's been signed to run up players and cause problems and create more than score for himself. As he did play a handful of games at Centre Forward, he's not a Centre Forward. Maybe he was just plugging a gap. -Yeah, fair. -But an exciting player. The only issue I've got at the moment is that him and Rio and if we sign them by, they are all young, unfinished projects. -Manager works well with the young players though. You'll see that. -Yeah, but you need some experience. If we let Gakpo go, then it just feels. -Yeah, but also, you're talking about a period almost. I'm going to say three here. It's not right for a club to sign as a Liverpool. But let's say a realistic expectation of what the season might look like. So to integrate the jumper, if ultimately Gakpo is going to be a decision, which I think probably mostly Liverpool fans would say, he's not going to be here next year, maybe. -Yeah. -Ove it now. -Mm-hmm. -Have the TVM problems now, so maybe it's ready to go next year, potentially. Okay, I want to about his sack. Alexander is sack for me. In terms of the very comparable players, but I think Alexander is an extraordinary good footballer. You haven't seen it yet. -No. -And his question marks whether you ever will. -I think the early signs in preseason have been good. I think it helps us that he had a relatively good World Cup. He was able to get consistent minutes under his belt or the World Cup. The early signs of the link up with Verts are really promising. And I think the issue for EZAC is he came into a Liverpool team that, you know, for whatever reason, other than maybe Subozly, most of the attack last season underperformed. So it was difficult for him to. And maybe a TK, that's probably harsh, an TK, obviously going to the gym. But he didn't come into a team that was thriving and then played rubbish. It was a collective issue. And obviously he had his own injury issues. And it looks in early preseason that he is getting back to his best, which is obviously great news for us. I currently have him in my FPL team. I think it's an awkward one because of his price. There's no one else around him is there. It's an awkward price point where people have maybe got to make the decision whether to spend the extra on him. Personally, I'm looking at wildcarding probably pretty early. And I think with the variables and the unknowns of the World Cup and transfers and all the new managers, there's so much that we don't know. That's the moment in time, I think, for me, it makes sense to wildcard sort of game before I get a mix of six. That fits in nicely with our fixture run. You want to go treble and live rapport if you're on that sort of strategy. It's very understandable. Yeah, which I have got. You've also told us that you aren't going to be keeping many clean sheets. You're going to be drawing it even more so, I think, to look at the attacking players. That's interesting, because I'd actually had a question in my mind. I was going to ask you if his sack would be in your team if pricing was irrelevant. Therefore, the answer is definitely yes. It's just interesting. He's harland plan to go in with that. Yes, I've got harland, EZAC and DCL at the moment. So no gelpea show. No. I'm going to guess there's no Fernandez in that either. You squeeze that in, yeah? Yeah. Can't be Gabrielle. No. You're going to be really struggling for Van Dyke now. Concedent, don't I, in three seasons. I'm really scared of it all. So, as already said, I already like Alexander Ezek. You're quite bullish about it. You seem positive times pre-season. Yes. Nice to see him. I didn't do a lot at the World Cup, I don't think particularly, but good to see him getting minutes in properly. So he's had minutes. He's had pre-season. How long is it last? And I suppose from your perspective, you only want it to last the last five from a fantasy perspective. You obviously want it to last the whole season. You're confident in him at the moment. But I guess the other thing to look out with him different to previously is there isn't a huge impact to his minutes here, especially early on. It might become more of an issue when the Champions League starts and stuff. But actually at the moment, you would be looking at him as a close to 90 minutes if he can do it, I guess, because unfortunately not looking at Eckertekin coming off the bench to replace him or anything. Yes, well, there's no other options. And whatever we bring on at Centre 4 is going to be a downgrade. ja minä toisaan. the Champions League starts, I would expect him to start every game and only be taken off, you know, if there's, if we're maybe convincingly winning or there is a real need to rest him. When the Champions League starts, I think it will be fixture dependent, heavily fixture dependent, you know, he's going to start against Citi, he's going to start against Arsenal, he's fit, so it just depends. I'm not sure whether Champions League matches for around if, if you know you're going to World Card 8, you don't have to be thinking about this kind of long term strategy at the moment, it would be ideal with the first Champions League game is like a routine home game or something, you can't, you can't kind of legislate for that at the moment. I want to ask, is he in part your plan to captain him at any point over this period? Is that part of the thinking here? Er, I know, because I'm looking at the opening five game weeks and even Holland, I'll traffic. You probably prefer to his like at home to full him? Yeah, so I'm, for me, it's probably just going to be Holland. Okay. Unless he starts terribly, which I hardly doubt is. Okay. Yeah, I don't think he's going to quite work for me, but never going to be far from my thinking and exanderous, but by consequence of, if not maybe having him, I think a lot of us want a Liverpool midfielder. So Lauren, it's on you, settled at the bait, that's versus Shabosh Lai. Well, I've got both. Nothing settled there then. If I had to pick one, it would be Burt's. And I think as preseason has gone on, my thinking is leaning more and more to Burt's. He's got a much higher ceiling, given that he's playing in that 10 position. And as I said, when we're out of possession, he's really, you know, along the top line with Vivi's act. And if we do win those high turnovers, he's going to be right there in the flick of the action. So Burt's Lai is playing a deeper role. But having said that, Burt's Lai still is still going to take three kicks. Him and Burt seem to have been sharing corners. So that's obviously another positive for Burt's. But the Burt's Lai is the fittest player in the squad undoubtedly. He didn't go to the World Cup. He has in all of the preseason matches looked, head and shoulders physically, above the rest of the squad and granted a lot of those matches. You know, you didn't have the World Cup players back yet. So naturally, he would maybe look better than the rest. But the thing with Burt's Lai is he is more secure for minutes. So, you know, it's conceivable that Michaelis is not going to start the season because he's just come back. And even if he hadn't just come back up, I would say at the moment he's probably not in the strongest start in 11. But if Michaelis comes on the pitch, he's probably going to go into the eight position and Burt's Lai is maybe going to push on to the 10 and Burt's comes off. I think that's far more conceivable than Burt's Lai being taken off. He can obviously also play right back if Frimpong needs to come off or Arralho, you know, whoever's been played in that position. Burt's Lai could, if he needed him to, play the right wing position, it's not ideal, but, you know, he's so versatile that he is much more secure for minutes. But for the 0.5 million saving, I do still think Burt's is, he's got a higher ceilings. He's going to be in the thick of it until he goes. Yeah, I think there was, um, Defcons were good on occasion, or the row think quite often last year he was putting up. Defcons actually were winning with playing fallback. There's also the intriguing bit that he did still keep picking up your attack and return when he played right back. It didn't seem to diminish him that much, but it also seemed to help his Defcon a little bit. On set plays, I think also with Mo going, there was possibly a feeling that he'd be on pens. I don't know if your view is him versus this side compens. Well, we don't know, it's gonna be honest because we haven't seen it. My, my guess would be Ezek would be the person on pens. I do think Burt's Lai is a great, you know, his double specialist, but I think it probably makes more sense for Ezek to take them. Yeah, I think Ezek also needs to feel that like he's the main nine and carried his important moments. She was still going to be saying obviously a share of the set plays. I don't think he never had all of them particularly anyway. I don't think he might want to correct me on that. Three kicks. Yeah, shooting from distance. Yeah, crossing ability. When he ends up kind of right half space. Fantastic. He's the type of player I think that was identifiable that did really well last year. Kind of him with Beckham rise, Enzo Fernandez. He's sort of players that maybe traditionally wouldn't have been good at FPL choices actually kind of became them last year. He's 11 attacking returns with 16 odd points. It's fine, but I'm with you. I think this now, this closer to Ezek, this build of relationship and the fact that we're actually seeing it happen in front of our eyes in preseason says yes at this moment. I'm in a agreement with you. I think first probably is worth the 0.5 more. So I'm pleased he said that. Yeah, he seems more confident as well. I mean, he's definitely taking on more shots than he did on the slot. And I think the style of the style of football suits his game better than slots. It was more similar to how he played in Germany, where he obviously got the accolades that he did to be such a big signing. So I've got high hopes of vertices in a night. Yeah, I would say he probably just shades it over suppose life if you compare the prices. But you're essentially attending to go triple over portac at a moment. Yeah, only for the first five game weeks. But I wouldn't touch our defense with a barge park. So okay, I'm going to fight against that in a little bit. Let's cover a few of these midfielders though before we get there. So Rio and Gamma was in at 6. I feel like we need to watch that very closely. Yeah, I think the all of the noise coming out of the club is that with the barcola signing, if it happens, you know, Bradley Barclough would be the left wing who's going to play the majority of the minutes. And obviously Rio is even brilliant on the left wing, but they have been trying in preseason on the right. And it seems to be a suggestion that if Barclough comes in, Rio would have to settle for minutes at right wing. In preseason, he hasn't looked great when he's been played on the right. He did score a goal from that position, but it was a bit bit fluky goal. He doesn't look comfortable. I guess the promising thing is he's 17 years old, right? And you said, yeah, Rio is good with young players and then he can obviously mold him into that position. But I hope as a fan that he is not flogged for minutes. I don't think he should be starting games. No, that's fair. I think physically, there's a strong case to say he's not quite ready. You know my opinion, I would attack him on a plane in the summer if he was up for it, but to use as a player very late in games or in extra time. I think where he benefits obviously more on the left is that ability to go either way. He's very happy to beat someone on the outside, but also the inside. I feel like on the right, he's probably getting bogged down, so just going outside or he's coming in unnaturally, so he ends up playing a pass off rather than being more threatening. The only thing I would say is playing experience in a different position will open his own awareness and mind a little bit more. They might be looking at that as a long-term strategy for him, but you also have to be careful with that because his talent is so good that he has to be in and around it because if he's not around it for you, someone will come and buy him because he's an extraordinary talent. I think there's every chance we're sitting here in four or five months going, I really want to put in my FPL team. potentially, I mean six million is a bargain isn't it, if he does end up starting every week then. Well, at some point he will be, it doesn't mean it's this season by the way because he ain't going to take that big jump up until he does really well. So at some point he probably is going to be a really good bargain. So I'm so certain of him in terms of a prospect and a talent. You said Kiezer could end up covering up front at five and half. I mean where do we sit if this gets injured at weekend, for example. Sorry, listen, I have my own injury issues too, right? I mean if he's got injured at the weekend, I think we would have to go into the market and buy a striker because you cannot, let's say he's out without till Christmas, you can't go the half the season without a striker. No, you obviously would take Liam Delap on loan. Sorry, I'll try to flog him on every podcast this week. I don't think any of the Liverpool wingers are FBO assets. Because I don't know. There's too much uncertainty over who's going to start in which position on the left, on the right, is Barclay are going to come in? Are we going to sign someone else? Is Gatpo going to stay? Kiezer wouldn't be a first choice player anyway. As I've said, you don't, you don't want Rio to be needed to start every game. So I don't think you can really consider any of them. That's fair. Gatpo, yeah, just because the rumours can't really be in this conversation. Cody Gatpo is probably now at the point where he's only a conversation if he if he did move my archie be interested again. So Ryan Crabbenbörsch at 6. Yeah I mean that's interesting prize point. I do think though with the comments that Eriello has said about players not being able to sustain the level. I think it is likely he will probably play 60 minutes in the early stages of the season until the fitness increases. I think because of the preseason that training only had Eriello will absolutely trust him to to bring him on and play that role. So it depends what you want. I don't think Grabbenbörsch is going to get a death call within 60 minutes. I mean I could well be wrong but I just don't think I think there's certainly other options with more guaranteed minutes. Yeah I suppose concern with even if we were in a position where Niohne was maybe going to start against an injury or something 5 minutes ago. I mean trust me it's possibly blocking you off the free Liverpool. You are better off looking at something from a team you're probably not going to consider much. I do not know I should be about one more young player though. It's unfamiliar to me but I know the guys in our slack was being very highly of him the other night. Lewis Kuhn-Mass. Yes he has had a fantastic preseason. It was really interesting actually. He started the game against Monaco and he played most of the match where he would have expected Eriello to take someone off to experiment at right wing. He kept him on. He did eventually come off but he seems to have really flourished from going on loan and some Liverpool fans think that we should keep him in the squad. I don't think that will happen. I think he'll probably go on another loan and I think that's probably right for his development but we're probably only maybe one season away from him breaking into the squad as well. He's really really exciting. I think there's been links with championship teams. Personally I'd like to see him go to maybe someone like Hull or in a team at the Laird. Danny but take anyone at the way. You take me or you to be honest. I'd be quite happy. I would add Erie I'll make him lose Hull. We said they would. Yeah it would be really interesting to see how he gets on in the Premier League. Obviously there'd be less expectation a team that should have been promoted and he should sort of be secure for minutes. He's had a fantastic preseason and really exciting and I don't think that we probably expected that he would have looked as good as he had. So yeah that's fantastic. Let's finish with just a relevant conversation about defenders then because you've already told us. First and foremost why not clean shades because they look at opponents there and think I can see them early on for the period that you want. We look so bad at the back. I think a lot of the pessimism is probably irrelevant in the sense that we haven't had Van Dyke at the back so we've conceded loads of set-piece goals in preseason and we conceded quite a lot of set-piece goals last season and if you look at Erie Olis history at Bournemouth they can see a lot of set-piece goals. That's a real concern. I think both Jacque and Aral Hoa are good in the air. They've got good aerial dual stats and maybe that quells that concern a bit but the set-piece situation along with the the high intensity, the lack of fitness. I think we might possibly blow teams away in first half but the second half against Leeds, the second half against Monaco have not been promising and I don't think it matters who we blow. I think we could conceivably conceding it to anyone at this point at a time. Have you still got the same set-piece coach you appointed in January? That's a good question I don't know, I believe so. Because Verge scored six Premier League goals in the last three months of the season. I mean he might well score goals but if you're playing six point five million for a defender I feel like. I'm off expecting him to get me one in the first five. The three to three, Flood. Van Dyke will get Defcon. He will score the odd goal but if you're paying six point five million for him or five point five million for Kirkers I think you probably expect to get some clean cheeks with that and there are probably other options that will get you. I start the season, it's such a way full of my own, forrest, I'm trips and newcastle ballmouth, newcastle one in the best state at the moment. Ballmouth is different manager now obviously. I think there are a couple in there and there's probably an attacking return in there. The Defcon situation is quite interesting to think about with Van Dyke particularly. It's too far to this one. You'll play probably a bit higher up the pitch which isn't necessarily always going to be suitable to him but obviously the ballmouth guys did amazing for Defcon last year but they don't think that necessarily translates to Liverpool. It's a different game I think. You're not going to play that ball before the time. There will be times where you're just facing low block and you're going to have to be a bit more patient. I don't think it necessarily translates and I do think there was an issue really early last year where teams were going very direct actually and almost targeting to Van Dyke to pick up the second ball because you midfield could run anymore. We saw that particularly when you lost that home to Manchinite. Van Dyke's on radar for me. One of the reasons on radar for me as well discuss this with Johnny and also on our debrief with Sird Shaft that a Manchin City podcast is for those thinking longer term maybe not wild cardinarily. Van Dyke feels like the Manchin City choice to me that I would put him in for this really good five weeks. I know what he is as in I get the 90 minutes. I might get some and I might not get some and then when it feels right for the Manchin City decision I dropped Van Dyke to the right Manchin City decision rather than get that decision wrong. Now if I don't start with Van Dyke it's form difficult for me to make the right Manchin City decision or move to it. Yeah the thing with Van Dyke is you know that you are going to have the consistency of like you say the order tag in return and he got he got the last season didn't he and I think that he will he will pick up Defcon to get in. I just I just think that the options in attack in terms of spreading the funds the options in attack outweigh not just Liverpool just in general there's loads of attacking options and I'm trying to get it difficult to I've got three liable and yeah and I'm just trying to fit. Take one at a Liverpool out put one of these defensive ones in Lauren. How would you feel if someone said you directly Van Dyke million more than Kerr Kets and that feels like the kind of real debate here. How do you actually feel about that specifically and don't say James I hate them both because you loved them really. I think I would say Van Dyke's probably still the best option. Right now it may be we get halfway through the season and obviously we know what Kerr Kets did for Bournemouth and maybe he's got the best out of him. I think it's clear from preseason that we are going to be heavily dependent on the left hand side in terms of attack and Kerr Kets is going to be heavily involved in that but early on the consistency of Van Dyke is probably more reassuring in terms of getting your bang for buck so I would say Van Dyke at the moment. Okay I'd take it definitely Kerr Kets over any other defenders in your squad. Yeah I mean God knows who he's going to be playing centre back. Yeah we fit enough to play centre back first of all but who's going to start and yeah I don't think I don't think Eriola necessarily trusts or likes Frimpong but obviously it's early stages so we'll see how that goes. Again we don't really have many other options kind of Bradley's out until probably Christmas. I think the thing to consider with Frimpong is that if you don't sort out this right wing situation there is a chance that he ends up there. Essentially that needs an awareness of that. Yeah how much is Frimpong enough? Five point five defenders, same price as Kerr Kets. So I mean if he was playing right wing then that would obviously be more appealing wouldn't it but I would like to hope that we won't be in a situation where we need that book. Okay do we know roughly when we're expecting Conor Bradley back? When Eriola was questioned on it last week or the week before he said months then I think we're looking at Christmas probably early. You've got six goalkeepers listed which is Andy because the squad's quite fins maybe you can spread some of that out. Can you lighten as well as six Liverpool goalkeepers in the game? I have absolutely no idea. Petchy's gone on alone. Yeah. Yeah. And Davies is never going to be an official squad. He's just a young, you know. Okay he's going to start game week one now isn't he? Woodman obviously did get an appearance last year so I absolutely understand that. Is no debate here on Addison being first choices? No no I think Mama will probably play the the cups and the mouth when Alison gets injured does his car for sorry unfortunately yeah yeah Okay, right go on then good luck put it in the starting line up at new castle Okay, well I love the way that you've all reacted in the same way even know you've all known this question was coming I just absolutely adore that You know there's there's something you know we're gonna start and then there's some positions where flipper coin god knows um Alison definite bandite definite Kirk is yes and frimp on obviously there's not many other options um It's really hard to predict the the other centreback I think It will depend on how they get on against Komo So we've got two games on Sunday against Komo one behind closed doors and one at Amfield and jacke and and a raw ho are going to get minutes I hope that they play in separate games because I'm hoping that they are given the opportunity to play as many minutes as possible but both have had injuries in preseason and haven't played preseason minutes so It's really difficult to know at this stage which one's going to be in a better physical condition Purely on experience I would imagine a raw ho is maybe the one that will start but Yeah, not sure I'm in agreement with you on that but away I think the key thing I would just add on that is The giveaway might be which one plays with fun dyke yes might be the giveaway Yeah I'm expect grab and back and suppose lion verse to be the midfield free um If gacke bow is still a Liverpool player I think he will start on the left he's at it's obviously the only option uh through the middle and at this moment of time probably Rio on the right but Limited minutes under that circumstance maybe yeah yeah Minus and kiaza will cut note you know no doubt come on um Yeah the difficulty of things like minas with really recording on wenzia I'm pretty sure the final players like the spanish players seem to have mostly returned to their clubs On when we're recording today the wednesday So yeah if minas gets himself a far or so the weekend might find his inner position where he's doing and now we're next week and Rio start Rio comes on maybe He came back early he's already played he came on against monaco of course he has yeah um so I think he'd start then Lauren because it's a head Dennis name But Rio's been there all preseason and um I guess it depends what what just play Rio on the left Minas on the right Let me have this left winger that you don't want because you're with cuts inside and does the same thing anyway The gun just let me know if if if What date will it be and what date are we playing? Um top four I think has to be realistic third place would be You know if we got a third place I'd be very happy um With that I think that would show some real promise And hopefully a stepping stone for for next season obviously are running the cups and if we've managed to Yeah sort of perfect the style under iraola then who knows maybe a decent champions league run But I think expectations have to be low Got me patient um, she are you Are you of opinion that you've got to qualify for the chat next year? I suppose that's almost like a minimum objective always for Liverpool Yeah, I mean There's being patient and standing but as you say there is also having Having a realistic expectation of yes the squad is thin But the quality of player that we've got is still very high and obviously particularly if barcola comes in that the starting 11 that we would have available to us would be exceptionally good so I think it's it is dependent on injuries and What happens throughout the season in terms of the players that that iraola has available to him but looking at the squad as it is We should be qualifying for the Champions League Good luck.
