The tone is warm and reflective, blending humor with emotional depth, and emphasizes how everyday routines, pets, and memories create a sense of continuity in life and beyond. The episode concludes with a celebratory nod to listeners’ shared experiences, reinforcing a community built on personal stories and mutual support.
- I was literally wearing pants from Zazzle yesterday. - Wait, what? Tell me about that. - Hanks face all over them. - No. - I actually forgot that I was wearing them and then I went to the dog park and I saw someone wearing spots all over their pants, like that, spots all over them. And I said, "Oh, nice pants." And they said, "You really are not one to talk today." - Truly, I have used Zazzle for a long time. If you want to custom gift, Zazzle's the place they've got. - If you want to custom gift of Hanks face on a pair of pants for your friend. - You could put anything on anything it seems. - Do you remember when I made a mug one time? The only reason I remember is I pulled it out this morning to go, "What mug is this?" And it was way in the back, way dusty. And I meant to send it to you ages ago. It says, "Live laugh, lemon," and Comic Sans. There's pictures of me and lemon on like everything. And then it says, "Family is forever." And I was like, "That is, that's a mental health crisis." - A threat. - I get sent it to you. - All of us just say, "Use Zazzle." - The opportunities are endless for gifts. Apparently a gift I got, "M," which by the way, I discovered again this morning. This was probably three years ago that I made this thing. - I'm telling you, Zazzle's the gift that keeps giving. And right now, save 25% of your first order at Zazzle.com. - Man, that's 25% savings on your first order at Zazzle.com. Go make some things amazing. And I got it from Wayfair. It's very, very cute, very witchy, very spooky. I feel like underneath the right thick ceiling beams, real or fake, it would look incredible. And by the way, those beams are also on Wayfair. But now it has been moved into what will be the spook easy of our house. And I'm not allowed to see what they're doing in their house and in her parents have been working on that day in and day out. And I know that the fireplace has become like the centerpiece that they're working the whole thing around. So I'm very excited to see how it turns out. Wish me luck. I'm hoping it's gonna look as spooky as promised. I will take pictures when I finally can see what's going on. All I know is that fireplace became the focal point of the entire room. So if you would like your own focal point, whether that's a fireplace or a couch or a table or whatever your thing is, you can head over to Wayfair and transform your space with pieces that hold up to real life. I did not do this intentionally, but I was snuggling with my Lola blanket. I'm so excited because it's all I do what it talk about. So finally, I get a chance. It really is the softest thing. Every time I've ever gone to a store and I've been like the blanket aisle, you know, you have to touch every single one. And then if you're with somebody, you find this office one. You gotta touch this one, put your hand inside of it. And this one. If Lola were on that shelf, I'd be like, let's not even, let's just walk past these other ones. - It's true. Munchine thinks it's his mom. It's a whole thing. He likes snuggles into it. You know, it's just the world's number one blankets. No big deal. It's crafted with ultra soft luxury faux fur and a signature four-way stretch, which is what sets it apart. - And can't attest. It is washable because-- - Yes. - This is machine washable, thank god. - Ars got stuck out in the garage a while ago and saw dust was all over it. And when you would touch it, it would go, "I thought I was going to lose my mind." And then I remember it was washable. So-- - Problems also. - Oh, it's a first day of fall also as we record this. And Lola blankets just dropped their fall collection. So this is perfect. It's finally cozy time. We love Lola blankets and we think you will too. - For a limited time, our listeners can get 40% off select Lola blankets products with code drink at checkout. Wrap yourself in luxury with Lola blankets. (soft piano music) - Well, well, well, it's very fitting. We're recording this on the first day of autumn. - The first spooky season day. I'm very excited. - I am, I've been waiting for it. And I think we can all agree it's time for a shift in the weather and a shift in the tone to something spooky. And so it is October. And by the way, as this comes out, it's Leona's birthday. I forget every year until we say October first and I go, "Wait a minute, maybe she's turning five." - That's crazy, that's a whole child. That's not a baby anymore. - That's a full child. If one more person, M-M-O-T, tells me, she's not a baby anymore, I'm going to rip their head off. - I'm sorry, I'm sorry, but it is a full-fledged kid. - It's mostly my neighbor Ann, and if you say that one more time, I will unplug your TV and you can't watch Bravo anymore and she'll never forgive me. - What a threat, that's a truth. - It is a threat, she's actually moving and I think that might be a part of the reason. Anyway, no, sorry. Anyway, happy birthday, Leona, she's turning five. And this year, instead of the usual giant dramatic party we throw at our house blazing, and we're like, "Leona, what do you want to do this year?" And she was like, "I want to do it at the trampoline park." And we were like, "All right, easy enough." - Honestly, probably the best thing you could have a kid ask for because that'll be the best sleep she's ever got. - It was a dangerous, open-ended question we gave her. And you never know, right? And so I was very taken aback and we were like, "Well, okay, if that's what you want," and she stuck to it. And so we booked it and we were like, "Yeah, that was a lot easier than the usual holiday." - Did you already have it? - No, it happens sometime around, I don't know, I think it's a weekend before, so I think it's like this upcoming. - Oh, well, well, well, okay. Sorry, didn't mean to interrupt you. - No, no, you're good, but yeah. So anyway, happy birthday, Leonna. She's five, which is insane. I mean, that's just a testament to how long we've been even doing this podcast. Like, remember when I literally announced the pregnancy with that insane Zachary Bagans video? And it's like, now she's turning off-- - Oh, I don't remember. - Yeah, I'll barely remember that. - I'll be honest, I'll barely remember that. I think I blocked it out. - I'll never forget it in the retirement home, I'm gonna go, "Oh, you know, you're gonna be-- - It's come back, for sure. Well, I watched so many damn clips just to find certain words. And I would just like, you do with the silent footage of the ghost hunts. I was sitting there with like his voice in my ears just listening for the name. And then I found like him say the word Christine. And I was like, I've done it. - You truly, I made that code. I looked really insane, but-- - No, I truly, I think back on that, probably more than I actually say out loud. And every time I think about it, I go, that had to be such hard work. That had to be so hard. - The Maltese Bagans. Yeah, well, I had nothing better to do 'cause I was just like pregnant in like COVID, you know? But yeah, good times, good time. I had to like download special software to get the footage. Okay, it's, I'm not gonna go there 'cause I'm gonna get-- - No, again. - Must have been so hard. - Anyway, very silly, silly stuff. But yeah, so five years old, we're in October. October's a fun month. We love October. 10 or 1 is a nice little palindrome. - Any Halloween plans? - Leona told me she's changing the, we were doing the Pete the Cat cycle where I was grumpy. She was grumpy toad and then blaze was grumpy toad and I was grumpy toad. So we kind of did the whole, but so that was a plan and I thought she was surely not gonna stray and then she said she has an announcement. And yeah, she wants to be Cat Rat from Gabby's Dollhouse, which is like the funniest thing to me 'cause it's this like cute show about like this girl and her kittens and like her little cats and that cat characters. And then there's like this guy named Cat Rat who shows up and just like is, like takes naps and eats everything and is, it's like grumpy toad. Like she picked the character where it's like really? It's like the Olaf of a show of a kid's show. It's like that. But he's like the bad guy for like a preschool show. But so she's like, I wanna be Cat Rat and I was like, you've never made me more happy and proud and thrilled. I don't know what that means. I get to be, but. - I mean, could you be the Dollhouse or however that show goes? - Just the Dollhouse, the co-walking three story Dollhouse. - Can I tell you what Allison and I have thought about being two? - Yes, please. - There's these competing insurance companies here that have billboards all over the fucking place. And one, her name is Veronica. Veronica's insurance, everybody knows her. And she's very famous. I wanna make sure I get the right one. I think it's Veronica. She's very famous for having a German shepherd. - Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. - In her billboards for people who like have never lived in LA. It, when you first move here, once you start noticing her everywhere, it's like a little jarring and it's very funny. - She's very aware. - She'll, she posts herself on, it's a picture of her on a billboard with her dog, but in every billboard, her and her dog are completely dressed for a different theme. And there's a competing insurance company, which I found out there's a whole bunch of drama. It's her sisters insurance company named Adriana, I think, Adriana and Adriana. - Yeah, that's the one I'm more familiar with, I think. 'Cause I feel like she does love her Glendale. - Yeah, she was all over Glendale. Yeah, I remember hers being everywhere, I think. - She really must have, I feel like she started first and Veronica was like, I'm gonna bring our cute dog into it and like kick your ass. And then Adriana was like, oh shit. But anyway, so everywhere you go, you see the two of them both just whilst it up in different themes, taking pictures of each other and selling their insurance. And so I was like, Alson, if we could find a way to emulate that there's billboards behind us, one of us could be Adriana and one of us could be Veronica with the children's show. - I mean, that's a very good niche LA. What's the gay Halloween? - Yes, me and that's like-- - Gay Halloween, what do you mean you're Veronica's insurance? - What do you mean you're gonna be the billboards from the competing attorney billboard injury attorneys? Yeah, it's bonkers. I remember there being some lore, but I didn't know it was the sister. I didn't know there were sisters. - I found out, because of TikTok, someone like spread the name. - That's a good costume. - Well, it's one of them. Alson is technically the one that gets sued decide the official one, because since I was here last year with Hank on my own, I picked, but now the cheese here, she gets to pick. So we're probably gonna flip up every year, but I did suggest that on our right hand side.
trip or ride trip or road trip back from Utah. Yes, yes, yes. By the way, Eva is married officially officially, again, not again, but officially, officially as the we Nigeria, the drag queen did the officiating and it was just like so magical and perfect and wonderful and I don't know. It was just congratulations to Eva. Let's see. We're just we've it's just I can't believe how long we've known her and we got to see her get married. It was like just so surreal. Talk about an ad for Zipper Critter. I know. Oh my god. I know. There's an ad in this episode for Zipper Critter. We shouldn't we should have mentioned it, but yeah, it really is like so full circle. Oh my heart. And she really I she I knew it would be incredible, but she really outed herself. She freaking nailed it. And like even Raysa during the during the a speech or whatever like oh or the vows, I guess like oh, I even did everything but the napkins and like she really I mean the napkins were great, but like the napkins were fun. Eva really it was something else, man. It was I mean, there were like the cliff side projections alone was hell. Like I've never I felt like I was in a like some sort of like sci-fi movie. It was so it was like digital fireworks on the side of a cliff or a digital giant booty shaken around while like yes, all the song yeah by yeah as my brother kept saying yeah three times was playing like it to be there with like everybody and it was it was like really special. So it was very good and yeah so much love in the air just so much like joy and like the parents the parents speeches were all hilarious and strange and like perfect. It was just all bizarre and funny and like we got to see people we haven't seen in so long and like Eva's friends and family for over the years. It was cool. It was very cool. It was very cool and it was like a cowboy theme. So like half the people were like disco cowboy gay. Oh yeah. Half the people were dressed like cowboys like like like not not no shade but just in like casual cowboy like just trying to just as cowboys possible and some people were like in button ups and it was like such a fun little mix of like to see like how people would actually take the theme seriously and all that. I remember it was kai and chaps or something. Oh I don't know what chaps are in my mind really either the phrase for cowboy pants anyway. I think yeah there are ones that go on the side I think yeah okay I noticed that that's hilarious yeah the theme I loved it I it was just like the different bullows like the different everything and oh boy their dogs walked the brother ring bearers their dogs the ring bear just like they're rescue dogs at the rescue sanctuary at the animal sanctuary by the way it was at an animal sanctuary shout out to best friends animal sanctuary it was like so cool anyway I just was like what a kick ass wedding can I can I tell you what I did yeah for the wedding the day of the wedding please have you heard yet no no I don't think so have I want to give my stupid phone oh shit now what this was an Allison request and then oh no and our social feel our social media manager Megan we ended up you know hanging out a lot yeah over this weekend and oh and Megan you still work at best friends animal sanctuary so that was really cool so she was like back in her old stomping ground which was neat it was really convenient when we had no internet and couldn't get to get the GPS on and Megan was like oh just turn here and I was like well that's really great thank you for that yeah no I'm gonna show you Allison heard through the grapevine you didn't do the sliding thing did you sliding thing oh okay so my one of my friends ash shout out to ash who does who's done a few of my tattoos like my moth my moth man and my one one one um she was there and she did the flash tattoo they she made a flash tattoo she that were like temporary tattoos and so ash was was there with her dog coconut young coconut but she posted the next day that she did like sand dunes sliding like sledding is that what you did I was there with ash you were there with ash it was me and Allison's plan and then Megan found out that ash found out that it was a day of the wedding it was a day was this was the warning of the wedding later I thought she did it after the wedding this was like five hours before the wedding did they not look like the three wise men like literally looks like they're off to Nazareth what's happening they're gonna find baby Jesus tell them they're all gay or something on yeah the three gay magi wandering through the desert everyone there was gay I think everyone there was gay for the day for attending for the day um yeah so this is um this was me and Allison and Megan and ash in the back oh my god so you went with that because I only saw the video ash posted and I damned her like what the hell is this and she just wrote she wrote back I was scootin and I was like yeah sure or scootin I I I'll let Megan decide Megan has all these pictures I'll let you know what movie this reminds me of which I saw when I was like seven and I had no idea what was going on is um space balls mm-hmm and I remember like combing the desert with a giant comb that looks like what you guys are doing like you went to the desert and didn't really understand what you were doing there or why that's exactly right it okay nailed it this was it looks like Mars um this is Megan going down that's her sliding down that's who Megan Megan go Megan holy crap that looks fun though that was it fun I was like I wish I'd known about this this looks like fun so here's the stupid part because um well it was Allison heard about the sand dunes I already had a rundown as like something I might do with Allison and then I went I don't actually really obviously want to do this but right it would make Allison happy so I have to drill it and it looks fun sledding well the pictures are very beautiful but of course you don't think about like oh sand having to lurch through smiles of sand like how till and devil yeah I mean I think of it that's why I wasn't there I was my very uh attended I was very stressed about the physical total would take on my body and so Allison and I were talking about it Megan and Ash we were seeing next to um the first night they had s'mores out on like a on fire situation and so Allison and I ended up inviting them to come and then I don't know why I agreed to this except to make my sweetheart happy but we woke up before eight in the morning to go climb dunes the day of the wedding and you're an early riser on travel days you've already said that I and you know what Megan I bless Megan because she now knows a completely different side of me where I I warned her I was like I'm gonna be so welcome be welcome be so grumpy um but I'm going to be uh your stepchild your 10 year old stepchild for a few hours until I get enough food in me but the uh I mean the pictures are worth it I mean it was it was stunning it was amazing um star wars like it looks like that yeah that's how to mean yeah and they used to film a bunch of westings out there too space balls before star wars I'm like it looks like space balls like I pressed well the um to answer your question I did kind of go boarding down but the one time I went down the board was not waxed and so I just sat there and then it would stop halfway and then I have to scoot and then it would stop halfway oh no that's like my nightmare that would be that would be yeah that would be what happened to me for sure the only way um I mean I could have redone it but that would have required going back up the hill and I was like fuck that yeah no no no no you don't go back up the hell forget it forget it so let's say one of those bunny slip things where they pull you up by the little that would be nice anyway that was uh we did that and then we went home and took a shower for the hotel and took a shower and then we went to the wedding and I was at the the next day I was like my legs are killing me and I couldn't tell if it was because I danced the whole night or because yeah there was also the dunes a lot of dancing and like yeah true but the dunes I bet you you don't use those muscles very often to climb sand dunes I sure don't sure don't no no no anyway long what did thing to say I did you do anything at in Utah while you were there did you just fly in and just know my brother and I explored a bit um blaze was home with liona and my brother and I explored town like canab which was cool and we went to like the the like museums and like the little chachki shops and kind of popped around we went to a few cafes and got lunch so we just kind of explored the town did you go to the rocking v cafe I thought of you there no we went to desert blossom it was called oh I didn't hear about that no I went we went to the rocking v cafe and I thought I was for sure thinking that you would end up there mm-hmm just like we missed we missed that but yeah no was great and then we just went back and like chilled um just kind of laid low because I knew I knew the dancing would be coming and I needed to rest my poor little legs and not climb through sand dunes I understand well um anyway sorry to take from all the all this I know you're also on a time crunch cuz no no it's all good I just got to get the little one um unexpectedly today for for all good reasons but yeah so exciting stuff we had to talk about it though congratulations Eva we're so proud of you oh and I have to say here this is where I meant to tell em or I told em I need to start this because I feel so bad I guess when my brother and I did that last minute episode for the September listeners month or whatever when you were traveling I guess somehow which like I haven't even told my brother he's gonna freak cuz it's like his worst nightmare but he started a story and never finished it and then released the episode and the person commented like hey you guys never finished my story and I was like more to fight um so I'm again and he doesn't even know my brother is gonna freak he's such a liberal he's gonna be like I didn't I I didn't mean to anyway so he I'm sorry about that I'm so sorry to Sylvan she they who submitted the story and we clearly effed it up so I'm gonna read it again did it to a double pronoun or damn trust me trust me feel intentional I've lost - I wouldn't even worry about it. - No, when we first opened up.
- The story is for today. Christine was like, "I need to explain the first one." And I went like, "Okay." - Well, there's like asterisks and stuff. And I was like, "Don't worry, I've got this. "I lift it up, I will take accountability." Yeah, honestly, I don't know who it was probably me. Like, let's be real. It seems like something I would do. - It's fine, we're correct. And then now, who cares? - Okay, here we go, gonna be good. - Hey, Eva, I'm Christine at all. I am Sylvan, like, Windows Sylvan, Sylvan. Almost like Sylvan, in my hometown, Sylvan was the SAT prep school. - Sylvan Learning Center? - Yes. - Oh, yeah, I think that was a national chain, probably. - Okay. - Yeah, I love that name though. It means woods, Sylvan, it means-- - Really? - It's like other countries. - Yeah, okay. Aquarius, love and Aquarius. And I started listening in October 2025. And as of now, June, 2026, I'm up to episode 327. I'm a rural male carrier and I have your podcast on for 48 plus hours six days a week. By the way, the subject is Appalachian Vaby and the entity that is still following me. - Cool. - Okay. - I very recently wrote in this story, but I was cuddling my four year old, born 20 days after your little one. So it's birthday month. So this maybe it's meant to be happy birthday month your little one. - HPD. - And I feel like I didn't portray this story with as much justice I could have. I finally worked up the courage and motivation to write in about one of the most influential and creepy entities in my life. I've experienced many paranormal events, but this one by far has had the biggest impact. This is a bit longer, but I promise it's worth it. To preface, mostly events surrounding this entity happen over many years. And it wasn't until the last couple years that I've recognized all of the synchronicity. So let's knuckle buckle and crack into it. The story begins to the nightmare I had when I was 15. Scene. I'm standing in my kitchen of my then apartment, looking out the window to the back parking lot. My mom was in her car about to leave and shouted up, find Elizabeth. In normal dream fashion, I knew exactly what that meant and immediately went to leave the kitchen to find Elizabeth. Instead of exiting to what should have been the hallway, I was met with a long dark staircase leading down to a door surrounded by a red illuminating light. Even in my nightmare, I was like, "Apsa fucking lootly not." But when I went to go back in the kitchen, everything was gone. Nothingness and black. So I was forced to go down the staircase. - Oh my God. - I remember this already. And I'm like, no wonder I just bailed half of this. - I thought we could every time. - No, I'm already scared. I was forced to go down the staircase. I begrudgingly made my way down to the door and when I opened it, there was the living room of the apartment. There was no furniture and only a vent on the floor. In real life, the only vent present in that room was one on the wall connecting to my actual bedroom. All around me was a loud breathing, a red aura and a small voice progressively getting louder, saying, "Help me." Oh, no, I won't be doing that. - Well, you can't turn around 'cause the kitchen's gone. - Oh yeah, so now you're walled in to here. - Ah, yep. As the voice echoed around, I knew I had to check the vent. Oh my God. I remember my heart beating faster as I made my way to the vent and with each step, the voice became louder and more intense. When I finally reached the vent, I looked down, saw two beautiful blue eyes which quickly faded to an ash and black as everything went silent. Then suddenly, the most demonic voice, you could imagine, loudly boomed, "Help me." - No. - Oh my God. (laughing) - Oh my God, was it Zach Begins? - Right, it sounds like a, if I picture a demonic voice, you know. - It's a mortal portal. - A mortal portal, indeed. That is when I woke up. I was obviously shaken, but vivid dreams and nightmares weren't new to me. Fast forward a few months after this nightmare. In real life, my mom and I were getting ready to go somewhere and she'd forgotten her purse. She sent me back up to the apartment to grab it. When I opened my front door which led to the living room, there, sitting on our couch, was a little girl. Parentheses, remember, real life. Like we're back in real life, it's not a dream. - Okay. - She was not there long, but long enough for her image to burn into my memory. She was maybe five years old, had on a blue dress with lace edges, long brown hair and beautiful blue eyes. - Mm-hmm. - I was very startled, but she looked just as startled. Oh, so it's like, it's like that creepy thing where you run back up to the apartment, they think you're gone. - Oh, no. Then she was gone. I sprinted back down to my mom in a tearful panic parenthesis, no, I didn't grab her purse. She's like, where the fuck is my purse? - Oh god, David, did you forget again? - God, David, and rapidly explained what I'd just seen. She was annoyed, and at the time she was a skeptic and told me to stop being crazy. Small paranormal happenings became normal in my life, but one day I finally got some validation. My cousin was visiting, and we were playing with things that we were not equipped to understand at the time. Long story short, shit got real scary, and we ended up calling her grandma to come get us. She picked us up, and my mom got home frustrated that I left without notifying her. She knew I was with my cousin, so she called their house, asking me what the hell I was doing, leaving without telling her. At this point, I was still frantic and terrified, and was begging my mom not to stay there. My mom got upset and told me she was going to get me help because I kept seeing things. I felt defeated, and to this day I cannot tell you why I said this, but I only responded with, okay, mom, but whatever you do, don't go in the closet. - I'll die. - What do you mean? - Then click. (laughs) - Line was dead. - Can you imagine that being Leon on the phone with you? Just talking for the kids? - I mean, yes, unfortunately, I can. She's like, I'm cat rat. Don't go in the closet. (laughs) That's how we talks, by the way. And remember how grumpy toe talked? - Oh, I'm grumpy. - Or no. - I'm grumpy toe. Yeah, so they all sound the same. It's just, she really likes the vibe, which I'm kind of into the bit. Like she loves a bit, and I love a bit, you know, and you love a bit. It really does work. - I love the, I mean, it says a lot about her personality that she keeps aligning herself with like, people who are like, a little grumpy and love to sleep and eat and be left alone. - Correct. - Correct. - She loves, and like, also charming, you know, 'cause they're like, the counter, the foil to the main character. - And she likes some voices. - Yeah, she just said double-leabor, she likes to just end up Leon Moon. She likes to just like, be seen for her, like, you know, little social butterfly self. - Perfect. - Cause a little trouble. - Okay. Let's see, I'm not gonna stop your story, I promise, okay? Okay, Sylvan, I'm not, I promise, I'm so sorry. You're probably having a panic attack 'cause I like to talk about something completely different again. Okay, here we go, okay. So she said, don't go in the closet, then click. Line was dead. I assumed my mom was mad and I had a head hung up, but oh no, something much more sinister took place. She showed up at my cousin's grandma's house horrified. I thought she was just angry, but it turns out she hadn't hung up the phone. - Hmm. - When I told her not to go in the closet-- (laughing) - Tell me. - The power from my bedroom to the living room shut off, and the cell phone she was on, shut off. - Shut the fuck up. Oh my God, oh my God. I'd be like, I should have listened to my car all the way. - Yeah, don't go in the closet. Oh, everything dies. I mean, really. - Oh. - For the cell phone to die too, it's not a landline. That's pretty good. - It's just like, it just sucked all the energy out of that house boom. - Fucking gross. - Fun fact, the only closet in the entire apartment was in my room. And another fun fact, that's where the power breaker box was located. - Are you trying to get enough? - Oh my God, which is, I don't even know what to make of that. If I'm trying to think like a sinister being, it's like, you might want to touch the power box. I don't know, is it a, I don't even know what to do with that. It's like, well, if you're gonna go in the closet, I might as well turn the energy off since you just put her right back on. I don't know. - Or is it like something sinister? - Or is it like, oh shoot, they know I'm in here, and it like exploded the energy. Like, you know what I mean, like, is it something, like a reaction rather than like intentional? You know what I mean? - Yeah, I don't know, just thought. - I guess we'll never know unless I finish the story. Maybe then we'll know. Okay. (laughing) - It's only there was an ending to this story. - It only was a way for Christine to finish a story. Okay. I felt relieved that my mom now believed me, but then she made me go back on, go back in and turn the power back on by myself, because she said I should have been stirring things up. This mom is so creative. She's like, actually it's your fault. You go fix it. I know I believe you now, but I also don't want to be part of it. Now I fully believe that little girl I saw was Elizabeth. Remember her in her dream, she heard go get Elizabeth. And in writing life, her mom said go get my purse. - Oh. - So it was like she ran back up in the same kind of storyline, but instead this time there was a little girl there. - It's almost like a glitch in the matrix. - Yeah. - Like reality was worse. - It was just over with your dream somehow. - Yeah, you just like things overlapped. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, or something's trying to mimic something and just miss the mark or something. - Oh yeah, also bad. Since then, I'm now 32. Elizabeth has never left me. Past partners in my life tell me I used to say creepy things in my sleep, sleep walk in very sinister ways. I can only imagine what that means. And even wake up screaming help her, help her. She's burning. - Oh my God. - And she said parentheses, remember the pretty blue eyes going ash and black. OMG. - I can tell why Selvan was like, you fucking missed the best part. - Yeah, they were like, this actually you, you've really ruined everyone's experience with not finishing this. I'm so sorry. - So but honestly, I know I'm sure it was like not fun for you to have your story kind of and have to comment on Instagram and yeah. - But I'm really glad that I'm the one sharing this. - I'm so glad too. I think it was meant to be brought for October. I do. - I mean, now you're in the spooky season listener's episode. - Yes. - And the baby's birthday month, you know, I mean. - Oh. - Ooh, I love it. Okay, help her, help her. She's burning. Remember the pretty blue eyes going ash and black. I've had dreams involving Elizabeth Sins as well, but haven't physically seen her. I hadn't had any nightmares or dreams since my son River.
was born. Happy birthday, River. Remember, did your life, man? We're not doing any of this. Yeah, yeah, I don't know about this until about six months ago. Uh-oh, it's back. I had a nightmare where I was just in a dark space but felt full of fear. I remember in my nightmare, I just said, it's Elizabeth. She found me. How did the F? Oh, yuck. And also, like, why couldn't she find you for the last six months? Like, what was her baby? Oh, yeah. Oh my god. Maybe the baby? Maybe the baby had some little protective something. Yeah, like a little bubble. I don't know. Since then, some activity has been stirring in my home. I've been experiencing some health issues and I just know it's her/it/idk. Wow, that makes me uncomfy. Anyways, that is the most condensed version of events I can give you right now. I've had many more experiences from Black Eyed Kids, Aliens, demons, etc. But those are for another time. I love you all so much and you really do bring me joy and comfort in my day-to-day work. Okay, sorry. Something just touched the back of my head. I know. Something just touched my hair. It's been super neat to hear how our lives lined up in their own ways before I even discovered your podcast. We were pregnant at the same time. I had similar health issues to Am as they were discovering them. But anyways, I hope you enjoyed my Goose cam story as much as I enjoy listening to you both nearly every day. If you ever want to hear more, yes. Which, oh, the apartment, they believe is a portal, which makes sense. Makes sense. It's like Elizabeth came in, attached to you. In the dream, go get Elizabeth and you got Elizabeth when you looked her in the eyes and now she's with you. Your new West Virginian, they be Sylvan. Sorry, that's what I said at the end. The fact that something was screaming help me from a very beginning, it's like, was that Elizabeth or something else or was now? I think it's Elizabeth because they said in the event, they heard the voice coming from there and the eyes were blue and then turned dark. But also, it's like then the demonic voice came out. Exactly. Pretending? Yeah. Yeah. Or like, is Elizabeth was Elizabeth originally trying to lure you in and then you showed real demonic voice and now she's still only showing up as a little girl. But is it because if it's causing health problems and stuff and like, if in your dream, you're in a dark room and you hear she found me, like, it certainly doesn't sound like she's there to bring you good times. No, no. It's creepy. Oh my God. Well, I'm sorry, Sylvan, that I effed this up the first time. I don't know why I keep saying like, my brother's gonna feel bad because I'm almost 99.9% sure this was my bad. I'm sorry, Sylvan, that this is happening to you. Yeah, I am too. On every level, like on our podcast in your life, that this is happening, all of this sounds rough. Man, yeah. And I mean, I've said it before, but like, I wish that we had some sort of like Avengers team that we could like, like we could be ghost buster's headquarters and do like chip coffee, you know, that's true. We've got like a little roster. We just need to to form the team, you know, we need to just like get everybody. We just need to organize and just be like, who, what region does everybody have? What expertise do you have? Right. Can we send you up to? Okay, we'll talk. We'll talk. We'll talk. We'll talk. We'll talk. We'll talk. So M and I both don't like to be inconvenienced. Are we sure? Yes. I read the last line, which was, I don't know how to wrap things up, but much love to you all. Thank you Sylvan. And I apologize, but thank you for letting us share your story. This, this next story is from Kaylee Sheeher. Thank you for your amazing pronouns. And I do see on the second page of this email that there is a very cute dog. So I think a dog's coming our way, especially because the title or the subject line, my late soul dog's gotcha day is the same day as your 500th episode. Wow. Which we have already recorded of 500. I don't know what order everything goes in, but we did record that and it's a fun one. It's a really fun one. And Kaylee says to us, hi, and that's why we're drinking crew. I was checking my calendar to see when your 500th episode is scheduled to come out. And it happens to be on my soul dogs gotcha day. My baby, my baby beagle boy named Walter has shut the fuck up Walter from the very beginning to the very end. We've had Walter's throughout this fucking show. Walter's been a part of my family since September 27, 2014 and he sadly passed away the day before Halloween last year. This is our first year celebrating his gotcha day without him. And since you're celebrating a more exciting milestone, I have and have a paranormal podcast. I thought this would be a good time to share some Walter ghost stories. Yes, yes, yes, yes. What a palette cleanser from Sylvan. No, no, no. Also, if you could give him a shout out on the podcast, especially the one that releases on September 27, I don't know how we did miss that. We missed that, but we'll do this now. And we we we love you Walter. Our farf, you'll know what it means. No, sniffies. Sweet. Anyway, Walter was a creature of habit and a 13-ish-year-old rescue dog. He was an absolute curmudgeon. He was like, rat, if you will. I was just thinking that, yes. Yes, totally. He had a schedule and he made sure we followed it to a tee. After dinner, he would go outside and the fenced-in backyard. And if we took too long to let him back in, he would let out a single bark every few seconds until we let him in. Like an alarm burp. You know how the microwave beeps at you like, remember me? It's like, God, I have the that's kind of fridge where if you leave the door open for too long, it like it'll alarm. Yeah. A few nights after he passed, we had just let our other dog in after her after dinner potty break when we heard a single Walter bark come from outside the door. As if he'd like gone out with her. We're going to go back in. I'm going to cry. I like how even in the afterlife, he's like, I can't just walk through the wall. He's like, I want to remind you, you're still messing this whole part up. You're still messing this part up. I may not be here, but the schedule is still expected. It still maintains. Yeah. I went to open the door and obviously he wasn't there, but if his spirit was, it's always welcome. Oh, to open the door and be like, come in, buddy. Another one of Walter's routines was breakfast. Can you tell he was a food guy? Yes, of course. My first alarm would go off half an hour before I fed the dog's breakfast and Walter's bark would go off half an hour before that. He really is a creature rabbit. He said, I can smell that alarm from a mile away. Nice. We had a routine. He would walk up to my side of the bed, never my partner side, what the fuck? And do his single bark every few seconds, or he would do his single bark every few seconds until I got up to feed him. No. He seemed to understand it's not time yet and would go back to bed for a few extra minutes. Sometimes I could get him to relax by reaching over and petting him and he would roll over so I could pet his tummy and he always just laid out of reach. So I'd have to lead out of bed to pet him, which to feed the purpose of quieting him down to get more sleep. Come with me. Come on. He's like blurring you out. Yeah. Smart. But anyways, maybe a week or so after his passing, my first alarm went off and I swear, I heard the sound of his little tippy, tappy toes coming over so he could yell at me about breakfast. Yell at me. Oh, baby. I've reached over leaning out of bed to pet where I knew he would have been laying and I'd like to think he rolled over for some belly rubs. Oh, my heart. We've lost Christine. A baby Walter. Thanks for reading. I have attached a picture of Walter below. He was truly the best boy and now the best boy is my guardian angel and also the inspiration for my new therapy practice. I opened in his honor, not so subtle or humble brag. Love him like Taylor. Please go look at the picture. Oh, my gosh. She's a baby. That little beagle baby. Look at those eyes. He's a little baby baby. Oh, his whole face would be in my mouth. Just yeah, I want to like scrunch. I want to bite you. Grunch top of your head. Every now and then I'm like, well, how good can I be with my two or three? We go too far too far. Yeah, so I have to determine. At the dog park, people are like, you got to back up because especially when you're wearing your cape, they're probably like, this actually sounds more like Dracula. I'm just like the vampire at the dog park. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, so the next one. Oh, the next one's called my ghost dog. Also like synchronous. You look at the shirt I wore today, which I never wear it recording. It's the one that we got.
at a live show, it says, "Mommy, can we keep him?" And it has like the three of the dog. - Oh my god, yes, oh my god. Well, did we ever, I mean, the topic is, we never said it, it goes pets. - Oh shit. - Well, that, hey, fun fact, that explains it. - Sure does. - And we forgot to say it's also, I remember Christine, right, submitted it. - Yes. - My name Christine, she, her, not I, but a different Christine. So I'm sorry, Christine, now we're making you stressed out. You've picked this topic, thank you. It was a Patreon pick. - Yeah, so spooky pet stories. Thank you so much for picking that. What a, what a perfect little sendoff are beginning into spooky season. It's all about all of our favorite little familiars. - And because we just went to the best friends, Animal Sanctuary and like, - Yes. - Yes, brought their dogs and it was like animals galore. So this really is a good, like, little tail end. (dog barking) My ghost dog, it's called. Okay, Maggie, nope. Maddie sent this in. Hi to, hi to Lemon and Eva only. Okay. - Oh, all right. - One of you. - It's one of you. - It's one of you. - It's one of you. - It's one of you. - Okay. - Relax, relax. I'm Maddie, she, her. I've been listening to ATWD for a year-ish now. I think I'm finally almost caught up and wanted to submit my story about my first dog. When I was two, I was bitten by my grandparents dog. Oh my God. And ended up with 11 stitches in my face. - Oh my God. - Yeah, it sucked the tough. - Terrifying. - That's a toughie. - My parents took me to the pet shop of Malaway afterwards without their credit card, because they said they would not be buying a dog. So I could socialize with dogs and not be scared when I got older. - It's smart, I think. - Obviously we left with a dog. (laughing) That's, oh, that really didn't work at all. - It actually worked too well. - It worked out quite well. - Yeah, it worked really well. That's true. - Well, that we're not afraid of dogs at all. - Full circle. Yeah, now we're, oops, now it's our family member. Obviously we left with a dog. He was a little care and terrier like Toto. I hope I'm saying that right. And not Toto, the other part. - Oh, sure. - I hope Toto is, yeah. - I hope that's right. And his name was Duncan. Duncan lived until he was almost 16. And when we had to put him down, our family was devastated. We were all heartbroken, but little did we know Duncan would be back. You know what, my stepmom had a corgi named Duncan who also was a ghost dog, who would like show up at our house sometime. Like things would-- - Really? - Yeah, like weird stuff would happen. Like things would get, like a toy would get dragged across from when she goes there, goes Duncan. And we'd always be like, "What the heck?" I'd forgotten that completely until I heard the name Duncan. I was like, that was the corgi my stepmom used to have. - I will say shocking there was never a ghost bear. - There might have been, frankly. Like it would have been the only ghost bear story. - You know what? It would explain a lot. Yeah, just like tearing the windows open. - I feel like she could say like, "Oh no, I'm just haunted by my pet bear." It's like you-- - Oh my, yeah. The bear-- - I bought a catalog from the circus. It's, don't worry. We tried to train him. It didn't work. - Okay. - So Duncan, after spring break vacation a few weeks later-- Okay, a few weeks later, we got our second dog. Okay, this is hilarious. - This family cannot keep us together. - I love it. They're like, "Oh, no more dogs. We just want to look at them." Oops, we've adopted all dogs. I mean, it is kind of like very human. It's very all of us. - I mean, I'll do it too, yeah. - Yeah, we've done it, we've done it. - Okay, after spring break a few weeks later, we got our second dog, Finn. Because our house was so empty and weird. I do know that feeling where you're like, there's like a void. - Yeah. - On the first anniversary of Duncan's death, Finn would not stop barking at an ottoman in our front window, AKA Duncan's place when he was sleeping or watching over his property. Oh my God, imagine the dogs like, who the hell is that on that pillow right there? - Truly, he has no idea that there was a dog before. - Yeah, like, wait a minute. He's like, this, this is-- Do you guys see this guy? This is my fucking house, get out. - Yeah. - What the hell? Okay, my mom took a video of this and to this day the video gives me chills. No one was there, nothing was in the window. The dog was just barking at nothing, right in that specific spot where Duncan used to lie. On his, the anniversary of his death. - Yeah. - A few years later, I graduated college and planned on moving from Buffalo to Charleston, South Carolina. I was miserable in my first job out of college and was talking to my mom in her home office about just going to Charleston, applying to see what happens. Her office was right under my parents bedrooms where both dogs could run back and forth and under the bed. As we were talking, we heard running in what was supposed to be their bedroom. We yelled up the stairs to my brother who saw nothing running around that would cause the noise. We've never had any animals or bugs in my childhood home. The running happened at, for at least five minutes while my family tried to figure out what it was before it stopped. - Oh, yeah. - I think both of these were Duncan coming back to say hi. I think he still does. We find dimes regularly whenever we're going through hard times. A cardinal started to live in my backyard when I finally moved. Either that or it's my great grandma, but I like to think Duncan is still looking out for us. I've now lived in Charleston for three years with my own care and terrier, Violet, like Duncan and a Corgi. Sully, as soon as we were, less synchronicities, thanks for an awesome podcast that I can't stop listening to ever. - This is just, thank you, Maddie. - Thank you, Maddie. - Do you have any haunted spooky pet stories, Christine? - Just those ones about Duncan. - No, oh, oh, that's Duncan now. - Yeah, sorry, yeah. I'm my stepmom's dog, but other than that, no, not really, do you? - No, I have anyway. - I had a childhood dog growing up named Bones and we were buddies and he was around from when I was like four to 14 and when he died, I swear for like the first week or two, I would always hear his like collar, like his like tags jingling whenever, but then after that I'd never see anything again, or hear anything again. - Yeah, but people say that, that you hear like the like clack, clack. - Yes. - You know what I mean. (laughing) And I do wonder if it was just like psychological, like I was just used to hearing that. - That's because then people argue that, like, oh, well, you're probably just like filling in the blanks, which like, you know, it's hard to debate that I would say, but like. - Like a muscle memory. - Yeah, I'm kind of with you. I think like that definitely is a, isn't a occurrence. - Yeah, I don't know. I know my stepmom, with all of her witchy stuff, the first Halloween after he died, we did like a whole thing, and she let me be a part of the ritual and all that, and it was very sweet. But yeah, I only remember hearing his tags jingling a few times. I don't know how to have anything. - I've heard that being a common thing. - I mean, honestly, the creepiest pet ghost stories I've ever had is when we were saying in haunted hotels, and like, I felt like something jumped on the bed, and they say it might have been a cat or something. - That's happened to you. I don't think this ever happened to me. That would freak, I mean, I had that weird man sitting at the end of my bed, but I was going to say, "Actually, why am I complaining?" Why am I not complaining? I should be complaining. - Guess where I was last night on my rocket money app. I gathered the courage, and I opened it up, and they were so nice to me, and they said, "Can we help you with just a few taps and clicks?" And maybe we can check some subscriptions, maybe we can even help you cancel some unwanted ones. And I said, "Thank you for being so welcoming, and like, non-judgmental rocket money." I appreciate you helping me, because I need the help. And yes, they were able to help me cancel a few subscriptions, and realize maybe that I was spending too much in certain categories, and it's all part of the learning curve. Rocket money has is, and will always be there for me. It feels like a nice friend patting you on the back, saying, "I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed." Just stop everything you're doing. Put your phone down. I've got this." But let rocket money help you reach your financial goals faster, and join at rocketmoney.com/drink. That's rocketmoney.com/drink. Rocketmoney.com/drink. - So Allison had a little get together the other night, and she had people in the spooky-easy. I'm still not allowed in there, but she has people coming in. - Oh, this is an offer for the spooky thing. - They were all hanging out in there, and they were talking about different ideas of how to finish it up. And the only way they're going to get through it is drinking a little bit. And Allison was like, "I know what you guys should have. We have Halloween-themed, angry orchard in the fridge." Would you all like to crack one open with it? - You really think like, "Oh, it's fall. You can't get better than an angry orchard." And then they're like, "Actually, listen to this." This episode, by the way, is brought to you by "Angry Orchard Hard Sider." Try angry orchards, new limited edition glow in the dark, thriller pack featuring four flavors, including the iconic ghost face can from scream. The thriller pack is a perfect companion for scary movie nights and Halloween parties. And may I add a spooky-easy in Burbank? - There isn't a more perfect place to drink these, and I was probably so annoying when she had her friends ever, because I wouldn't stop interrupting them going, "And the can's glow in the dark." - Yeah, it's glow in the dark. - Yeah, it's glow in the dark. - "Angry Orchard Hard Sider" is made with two real apples. The story comes from Hannah C, and the subject line is, "My two-year-old is seeing ghosts. "I am half-proud and half-scared, chill-ess." - I was like, remember when I kept saying, "I wish Leona would say something," or "Is she still hasn't really?" - I am happy for you and disappointed all at the same time. - I know, me too. That's how I feel. I'd be excited and also terrified. She has done a couple of things, but I've already talked about those, where she was like, "Who's that?" And I was like, "I don't like this." - Yeah. It really is a, be careful what you wish for. Grass is always greater. - Oh, 100. - 100.
And she said, "Is that daddy? It's way taller than daddy." I was like, "Okay, well, actually, I like the way it was before this. Thank you." Yeah. It's like, I actually prefer you a little boring, I think, because-- Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Maybe look back. This is crazy. To close-mindedness. Wouldn't that be fun? You know what? Daddy being a skeptic, all of a sudden, is a really neat-- Wait a minute. For quality, which it's still. Isn't your DNA part of his? Shouldn't that be more present? And also, like, yeah, yeah, the end. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, Hannah C. says, "Hello, Eva, Em Kristine, Geo, and Juniper." This was written in 2019. So, Geo and Juniper were the, I think, the newest-- Oh, that's right, June wasn't here yet. Yeah. Just a twinkle in my-- in Juniper's eye. So long-time listener, they said that in 2019. So I wonder how long people-- Long time. Seriously. Wow. A first-time story submitter, but I had some weird shit happen lately, and I thought you would all like to hear about it. What's crazy is that this kid that we're going to hear about, the two-year-olds, is now a nine-year-old. Right. That's right. Oh, how weird is that? Oh, my God. So maybe your nine-year-old is listening to, like, this diary-- That's really weird. Yeah, that's really trippy, yeah. So this is our on Halloween 2018. For some backstory, my best friend had a dog 10 plus years ago that passed away. But her and her whole family always make comments about how they can still feel and hear the dog comment around the house. They have not had another dog sense nor do they have any dog things in their house. So like, I'm assuming tennis balls are toys or treats. We went to her neighborhood to go trick or treating for Halloween, and we stopped in her house for pizza. My two-year-old casually walked over to the corner of the kitchen, pointed and said, "Doggy, woof, woof." What? My best friend just stared at me and said, "That was Comet's favorite spot." So he's still there. On Halloween, with all the little kiddos, and the two-year-old can see the dog, I'm going to cry. I mean, really? I really have so-- It's so sweet. Oh, my God. I am on my period right now, and it is starting to really show, because I'm like, I'm like ready to just cry. Oh, my God. I have full-blown chills, because like, the puppy still wants people to see for a two-year-old to say woof-woof, and it's like-- And it was this favorite spot. I mean, my heart-- it's like Duncan on his favorite spot. Oh, my God. He kept going over to that corner all night, the two-year-old. He was fit over there and just say, "Doggy, over and over again." My kid was definitely hanging out with a ghost dog all night. Yes, for sure. The second time my son saw a ghost was maybe a month or so later. He was having trouble sleeping, and his dad was at work late, so I let him come snuggle in my bed. Oh, no. He had been doing this thing lately where he says, "Am I a baby? No, I'm a big boy." Oh. So I'm laying there half asleep, and he starts nudging me and goes, "Mommy, mommy, baby." And I said, "No, you're a big boy. Still half asleep." And then he nudged me again, and said, "No, mommy. Look, baby, girl." And pointed to the wall. Ah! Okay, wait. But how many times have we heard that when a little kid points at the wall and says, "Look at the people." And I'm like, "Why are they always at the walls? Like, what's at the walls?" I mean, I guess yours. Like, it's a wall? Like, it's a wall? But why is the baby up there? Is it someone's holding the baby? And that's why it's up so high on the wall? That's such a good point, because I mean, honestly, my first thought was like, is the wall the easiest to, like, gain access to? It's almost like you're holding onto the structure or something. Right. But you're totally right that it might just be that it's a blank space and easiest spot. It's like a blank, right? Like, in between you and the wall, that you don't see anything except the wall, but maybe there's something in between there. But like, the baby being up at the wall is probably, like, being held, right, or something. Like, how else would it. Hate to break it to you. But that, your theory implies that when we're not looking at the wall, there's a bunch of things hiding around us that we can't see. I promise you, I'm well aware of that. And I've been well aware of that ever since my OCD really told me, told me there are dangers lurking. No, no, no, but like, it's interesting. It's like. No, you're right. You're right. I have no idea why. You know what I'm picturing is like when a person holds a baby over their shoulder like this, like to burp them. And then, like, if you don't see the adult holding the baby, but then you see the baby, and it's just like floating there. Do you know? That's what you see. I was thinking more, like, Rafiki holding the baby high enough of that. Or that of us. But I feel like if you're, like, doing just a repeat, you know, like maybe it's just someone burping the baby and they're just like floating around. That would be. Wild. I'm creating an entire narrative around it. I don't know that this is real. No, but if I saw that, I guess I would be able, as an adult, to say, like, it looked like someone was holding the baby, but that other person was there. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Because I, for a little kid, you wouldn't know any better. Why is it. Yeah. It's just a flying baby, yeah. It's no big deal. Or, like, is it just, like, the face of a baby? Right. I don't know. So we see pointers to the lawnside baby girl. I hopped out of bed so fast, turned on the light, showed him there was nothing there, but then he kept pointing at the blank lawn saying, "Mommy, baby girl." It's still there. Mommy, baby girl. It's still there. So. Whoa. I feel like it's. I feel like the rules are. You need to disappear now. Yeah. As soon as I turn the lights on and get scared, you have to be gone. That's part of the rules. It's good by the time. Also, like, so that means in the dark of night, he was able to figure out there was a baby there. So, like, it had to be a pretty, obvious baby. Yeah. Like, it couldn't just be like, like, the shadowing, because it would just be like a bundle of something. But, you know, when you say, like, when adults, like, you see a ghost in it, like, is like glowing, or like, it's like a bit of, maybe, that he just didn't, as a baby, was like, "Oh, look!" And then, like, maybe it was somehow illuminated. I don't know. I don't like that. I don't like that. So, this is how it scared me, shitless, and I saved your house the following week, no ghostly sighting sense. But I'll keep you posted. Sorry. This was so long. Thank you for bringing me true crime paranormal stories and laughs on my long commute to work. You guys are the best. Hashtag team wine? Haven't seen that. Wow. Wow. Well, well, well. I don't blame you, by the way. You and your nine-year-old, like, wolf. Wolf. Yeah. Nothing else has happened. I mean, I'm curious how long that went on, you know? Is it? That's fascinating. All right. So this is the second-to-last story, I believe, this is called ghost cat, and it was sent in by Holly. She, her. Thank you, Holly. It says, "Hi, everyone. I have a ghost cat in my apartment. I moved into my apartment about a year ago after leaving an abusive relationship. At first, I just always felt like there was someone else in every room I would walk into. It wasn't scary, to be honest, it was sort of comforting. I kind of thought it was just me dealing with PTSD symptoms by trying to make myself feel less alone. Then about six months into living there, my friend house sat for me over the weekend. And when I came back, they were like, "Yeah, so why does it always feel like someone else is already in every room you're about to walk into in your apartment?" Bye. What do you mean? What? You're like, "That's just my PTSD. They're like, 'Nope. What happened to me, too?'" Do you think, like, the person, like, the abuser, like, died and was like haunting me? I think it's a cat. I think it's a cat. I mean, I know it says ghost cat, but I'm trying to-- In my head, I immediately made a darker. I don't know why I did that. Oh. I mean, I don't think the person died. Okay. No, no, no. I'm just saying, if it said that they left an abusive relationship, I'm like, if it felt like something like a press that was in the room, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But I said it was comforting, though. They said it felt like somebody was like, they were just trying to feel less alone. I appreciate you reminding me of that because my brain immediately made it so much more fucked up. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I liked your weird twist on it. That's, like, very law-and-order SVP. Why this? And it's like, yeah, we don't have to do that. We don't have to do that. What if not? Yeah. Yeah. So the house sitter is like, why does it feel like this? And they're like, oh, it's not my PTSD. It's like actually other people are experiencing this too. Shortly after that, I started seeing what looked like a little cat darting away in the corners of my eyes when both of my pets were snuggling on the couch with me. My best friend, my BFF and boyfriend have seen it and commented on it too. Then about four months ago, I was taking a selfie to see what this new lipstick I ordered looked like. And I noticed something weird when the motion feature was turned on. You could clearly see a little kitty shadow run past my shoulder in the corner of the room. Kitty! When I took the photo, my dog was laying with her head on my lap and my cat was curled on the end of the couch. Last month, I was digging around in my dryer for a clean top when I felt what I thought was my cat Betty brush up against my legs and then run under the bed. I was sweet talking to her as I walked out of the latched bedroom door and saw her perched on the counter looking at me like I was crazy. I was definitely, it was definitely ghost cat that was brushing up against me. I love my apartment and I love ghost cat so I just don't think about it too much. Of all the ways to be haunted, a sweet little snuggle kitty seems like the best possible situation. Thank you. I love your show. #TeamWine. TeamWine, you know what I think about the fact that there was just a ghost cat there. That makes me really sad because it means like maybe someone lost their cat another cat stuck there. Or just like, what if you're not? Yeah. And what if someone moves in who's like not a cat person or like you just have to hope when you leave if your cat's ghost is still there, at least someone will love him for you, you know? Like, think about the comment. I think comment, but like the dog who always sits in the corner and like, luckily 10 years later a baby can still see him, but like, what if that family moves and comment still just like sitting in his spot? Maybe. I mean, I think there's more like, I like to think maybe there's more agency there. Like, it's just a remnant of like wanting to stay and experience earth and hopefully like go on when, sure, I hope so too. I don't know. That's what I hope. Like, maybe they're just staying with the family or with until they're like no longer. I don't know. I don't know. I'm with you. I know. I understand what you mean because that like that could turn sad very fast. Very bad. Like that. And I know you've loved to do that today. So I sure do. Usually that's my job to make everything fuck up. I would like to. I mean, if that were the case though, or hopefully, hopefully, soft case, but it would be a fun like back in the 90s when children's movies like were.
trying to make children cry and then be very helpful at the end, it would be a wonderful ghosty version of homework bound. - Yeah, I was gonna say it could be a good plot for a movie, yeah. - Like finding the home that would traumatize me. - Yeah. Anyway, here's our final Halloween October spooky season story. This is from Mahala, who uses sheer pronouns, and the subject find is played with cats ghost. Played with cats ghost, we'll see. It says hello everyone. Recently, this year, my sweet baby cat, Kiki, passed away at 12 years old. I obviously devastated, I was obviously devastated and decided to get a tattoo of her, using some of her ashes, then one night in July, I was lying in bed and in bed, it's wrong me. And felt tiny little feet walk across my legs and walked to my husband's side of the bed, and I just felt something watching me. When I looked over, she was just sitting on top of my husband's pillow, which he always hated, because she was allergic, but she was a soft gray and almost transparent, and a little flickery like an old film. - Wow, I wonder if that's what the kids saw too, you know? Like maybe that's how-- - Yeah. - Yeah, wow. - Just a little kiddie still-- - Hold on. - Just a little like hologram, like hi mom. - Oh, I can't, I just can't bear it. I watched her clean herself there for a good 30 seconds. Why did that get me? I don't know, I'm just like licking the paw. - Oh, and then she, and then I reached my hand out to touch her and she pooped her little nose on my finger. - Stop, Emma. - This happened three more consecutive nights in a row, with me gently petting her until she faded away. - I'm gonna cry. - This is what I mean. - I'm gonna throw up-- - I'm gonna throw up in your face. - And this is what I mean when I say, like maybe it is like, you just fade out over time that like, you know, like you can show them enough love and affection, maybe it's like their time to go. I don't know, that's something to tell myself anyway. - Oh my god. - That's like the most poignant and like my heart can't. - That's like exactly what you want in some ways with your pull. - It's like so beautiful. - Pull your gnomes and to pet you. - And to do the thing your husband hated and sit on the pillow and make him allergic one last time. - Also like, I know like, we're having a sweet moment, but like for science, I would have to nightmare at Elm Street this and try to like pull some of her hair out. It's just to feel like if it's real when I'm holding it. - Oh great, so you just like rip her hair out and she's like, ah! - Well you know like one little strand always ends up on you. - I would get one scratch up your arm. - Yeah, just to see if like a puller out of the dream. - Yeah. - Sweet. - Now even though I can't see her, I think she is still there. My dogs will suddenly start looking around the dining room table with which her, which was her favorite napping spot. My hair ties and paper receipts still go missing. - Oh, that's cute. - And one week my husband and I had a living room camera to watch our dogs and it would alert or track something moving around when no one was there. I'm still sad I can't see her every day, but it's nice to know she visits from over the rainbow bridge. - Oh, and also I love that like, you can't see her anymore, but she showed you herself enough to so that you know she's there. Which is like, that's so nice that like you got the confirmation visually. And now you're like, oh, I sense that she's here, but I don't have to wonder 'cause I actually already saw her. - Thank you all for sharing so so much. Wow, what a way to make me feel my feelings. Thanks everyone. - That really hurt. That one was a tough one to go out on. That was a, that was very sweet though. It really is truly one of the better ghost pet stories I've heard of and it's ideal for what all of us probably one is just one last couple with nights with our little baby. - Exactly. - Very, very true. - Very true, well said. - And happy October. - Happy October. - And that's why we drink.
