Therapy's biggest impact doesn't show up in some dramatic breakthrough.
It shows up in the smallest moments.
You bite your tongue instead of escalating.
You put your phone down instead of firing off that text.
You say what you actually mean instead of what would hurt someone else the most.
Nobody applauds those moments, but they quietly change your life.
That's what growing feels like, and that's exactly what growth therapy is here for.

What's up everyone?
It's the next day podcast with Nicole and today we have a special interview for you guys.
Developer and creator of Martin, no filter, fighters, trade, Hamptons.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
No problem.
No problem.
How are you, man?
Good.
Good.
Good.
That's good.
That's good.
So let's get on with the question, so for the listeners to meet you for the first
time, who is trade Hamptons and how did you get into game development?
Okay.
I'm a payment specialist in my warehouse in front of game development.
I was here idea of making educational games using AI because with AI you can make a lot
of stuff.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So in my job, I use AI to make an application into speed of the process.
I also got a client where I'm making an open world game where you can play basketball,
like a fidget, you can run, you can go through food trucks.
So is that more like a simulator type of game or is it basically like a just like
an open world game that's here?
That's open world, guys, almost like Zelda, but more close to home, nice, nice.
So what sparked the idea of to turn Martin into a fine game?
I know the show, it's a very popular show in the 90s.
So what did, what did like, what it sparked you to make it into a game?
Well, if I you should ask the question, I think there's the reason it wasn't Martin, it
was cold, it was when he hit the rental spoons, he just somewhere in my mat, like with his
rental spoon, could it be like a game where he just throw a bunch of spoons at somebody.
So my grand start, you know, grinding and with at first it came like a concept.
So I did use AI to make a video concept or what it would look like.
So I had videos using a sort of AI of the Martin game, but it wasn't playable, it's just
AI video.
Oh, I see it, it looks like a kind of an inspiration off of like a old school, like, you know, street
fighters, a little bit like a Mortal Kombat, a little way back in the day, am I getting
into right vibe with that or is it like, you know, is that a little bit of expression off
of that?
Well, the original ideal to make it look like it came out in the 1960s, right, right,
right.
But once I start to seriously develop it, I start to update the graphics a little bit
and then try to help me, more recent fighting styles, like Marvel, Tocon, I see it, so
you can see some of the elements or those of the recent games, yeah, Martin game, like
the tag team, like you're tagging your partner, some of the fighting styles, it might be for
me, it's for some people, like fighting games.
Okay, that's cool.
So this game is not for sale, right, it's just available on web browser, right, it's just
for fun and every single thing, so, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, fair enough, fair enough.
So it's a family game and it's available on, would you like to share the website or would
you just let the people know well, you can go to a train, TIEY2K3, that each FTCH.au, okay.
You'd be able to see the game under my profile, okay, you can Google it, Google it, you'll
be right there too.
Nice, nice.
So what does the show mean to you personally and why do you think it still connects with
audience?
So I know Martin connects with a lot of Black people and myself and, you know, like how
does, like, in your way, how does it personally connect with you?
When Martin came out, I was like an elementary, I was like, second and third grade, but even
then, it would be something that we'll talk about in school, so it's not something, it's
not for kids, it's something that we'll watch and we'll talk about it in third grade.
He's just, his comedy is timeless, and I was being mean, I like to stand up.
So I couldn't think of any other comedian that would have, this would have happened
to, like, this is, like, what's going on right now, I couldn't, I still couldn't use
to it, it went, it went viral so fast, but I couldn't, I couldn't imagine any other
comedian that sort of thing off and I watched, I watched about it in the YouTube videos
of people playing my game, I watched how the game made them happy, they laughing, and
now I have a lot of people that message me online, they just make you feel good and now,
this 'cause of this game, you're able to expose it to younger generations, like my daughter,
I let the play the game and now she knows about Martin, it's a lot of kids, like, people
they never watch the show, but they're too young to even know what the show is about, they
played the game, so now Martin has the new generation, so thank you, so a new generation
knows about it. Yeah, like, Martin loads, it's such a great comedian and as well as entertainer
as well. I'm a huge fan of him and the end of the show as well, so like, when I saw the
fan game, I was like, I was so surprised, I was like, oh, so I made a fan game of the
Martin show, that's pretty cool. So like, for you to make this game for a lot of people
that recognize the show is pretty cool, so like, I'm guessing a lot of people back then
wanted a game back then and now they got it right now, so like, it's pretty cool that,
you know.
AI is able to assist you to do this type of game.
So yeah, onto the next question.
So what did you choose to title to no filter, no fighters?
Sorry, no filter, fighters.
Why did you choose that title?
I think it was a time for Jason to me to the computer.
And I just stuck with it.
It didn't really stick with me.
It first was it started to, you know, it was unique.
And it's like, you have watched the show.
It has my fights on there, but not to me.
Like, it's like the parents of Missy Jerry or Dragonfly.
They don't fight on there.
So the perfect game.
For, for, for fighting game, because they fight on the show too.
So, right, right.
With the no filter, they don't hold back.
They just let it let it at each other.
It's a battle.
Okay.
I see it.
Yeah.
That's interesting.
And like that.
Does it evolve with like, you know, like they don't.
Is it like, uh, basically they just have no filter in the terms of way that.
They can do what.
Say and do whatever they want in terms of.
Yes, they feel free to fight each other.
They don't have to hold.
Yeah.
Yeah.
The whole thing back.
Okay.
I see what you're saying.
Okay.
I could have caught no hole.
No holes bar or something like that.
Yeah.
True, true, true.
Okay.
All right.
Okay.
So you explain the, the fighting styles are ready to visuals and every single thing.
How did you turn the characters personalities and memorable jokes into like fighting moves?
I know that you have a little bit of life, you know, the jokes in there.
And a little bit of life, you know, every time you reveal a new character, you, you, you have a little bit of life, you know.
The, the voice actors in there, how did, how did that, you know, go on about.
That's what growing feels like.
And that's exactly what growth therapy is here for.
Grow is therapy that works covered by insurance.
Sessions average $21 with insurance and some pay as little as $0 depending on their plan.

Yes, so for each character, I do my research.
I try to pay attention to detail what stands out, what jokes stands out.
I clip like I clip the audio from the videos.
And I try to piece it together where I went under the direction to the character.
Everybody immediately knows what's what's about to go down.
This is like a little bit to the pain.
I think more than just being the fighting game, the references.
It's what really drives this game.
I tried to add as much as I can to the game from show.
You go to brother man's, you see the way it couldn't post on the board.
The type of soda they drink.
So I try to pay attention to every little detail.
Like you watching the show, but you playing the game too.
Yeah, yeah, it's very nostalgic as well.
So which character was the most fun to create and which was the hardest to get?
Right, so like basically I know a lot of people want more characters in the future.
So like I noticed like, you know, I noticed that you release like a couple of characters.
Is there any other characters are going to be releasing in their future as well to add to that question?
Yeah, I tried to make it like a bit of the anticipation.
I don't want to add all the characters at one time and then plus it's.
It's fun looking at people post about who they want.
Kind of drive, you know, drive the attention to the game this way.
So I probably miss Jerry needs. It's the old lady that I was fighting Martin.
Yeah, yeah, as far as the other question you just asked, definitely cold because he has a special week called big surely.
Big shows like the juggernaut of the game she just ran through like it's unblockable.
She should run you run you through the mission process.
So he was holding up other characters.
I didn't have too much difficulty.
I had to make sure I got Bob from marketing his moves to dance moves.
So that's probably the hardest one.
Right.
So I had I wanted to do his moves just right.
Yeah.
Hey, did you did you end up getting it right, right?
Yeah, I got it close. I can't.
Yeah, okay. That's cool. That's cool.
So development tools. Did you use.
And what did AI play any role in your process?
So like basically what I'm trying to say what development tools did you use?
And I can what AI play in your process of making this game in general.
So I use.
It was generated to get the sprites.
So I need to I use the references from pictures.
And they give prompts from the AI.
So I get out of my prompts.
And at the developer of my pictures and sprites.
Right.
I use AI to put everything together.
And it's it's so advanced now that it does this research on what.
What moves.
Work well with work well with each player.
And most time.
And I might suggest some some type of move that it might not suggest, but.
It kind of knows the actors and the.
The people on the show and what fits down.
Well, what moves go with their personalities.
So it tastes a lot of trial and error to get it right.
I know.
AI is.
It's a bad like this. Some people are kind of cautious against or they.
Or he says use AI with you all have background knowledge.
Yeah, it's not.
Yeah, you could use AI, but you still got to know a lot of stuff.
Yeah.
I have used it in my way too.
Like I have used it to create some content.
There's different ways to use it.
You have to like know what you're.
You're doing a lot of people is thinking it's just a simple prompt.
But it's more than just a simple prompt.
You don't just click Martin make make me a Martin game and it pops up.
And it just basically you have the Martin game.
There's more to it, right?
Yeah, it's more to you got it.
It's a tool.
And it's.
It's hard, but it's like a baby as well.
So you got a cramp.
You got to train it.
Yeah.
So you're.
So in any case, you're what it.
What it does is it uses what you know.
to advance what you're trying to do.
So it's like driving a car like you go to work you could always walk to work but you could you use a car to get there faster. So it's like a driving car you it's you can see again to what you need to faster.
So yeah, yeah, it's just yeah, this whole whole point of technology you you can see a destination quicker than before.
Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, I hear you, I hear you. It's just like a lot of people think it's just as that simple, which is which is not it.
So I understand you and I appreciate you making this this game as well.
So like don't worry, I'm not one of the haters at AI or anything like that. I'm like, you know, like I understand the technology. So yeah.
Well, I want to say that on the floor, so I like I would like to make learn how to make games so it is fire me to like know the real thing is that it goes into making a game.
So I want to know action to be able to explain and make the game scratch myself. Right, right. Okay, that's cool. That's cool.

See if you could pay as little as $0 for therapy in seconds at growtherapy.com/startnow. Have you heard from anyone connected to the original show and whose reaction would mean the most to you?
I know you explained that you saw a lot of people loving the game and basically seeing people play the game as well.
But I just saw something on Twitter, I think a couple days ago, and it was Wall-A tweeting about it.
Do you have anybody else that basically tweeted a game or repost a game on different types of social media, or was it just him?
Yeah, one of the characters won a game, Pam.
Oh, he also.
She reshared a video for the guy that helped him go viral classic music on Instagram.
Wow.
He helped him viral.
So when he posted my game on his page, this one is written in skyrocket.
And she saw, I guess she saw it.
And then she reshared on her page. So Pam actually reshared my game on her page.
And I had Toby in the English way.
He's responsible for one post about my game, the rapper.
And then I had some people to cook like for the Martin team to actually contact him.
I think he's like one.
He's on the right now show.
Right.
But he gave me up on Instagram.
Yeah.
I'm pretty sure I'm pretty sure Martin knows, but it'll be a very, a very honored to actually see him.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I know he knows by now.
Cause he's staying.
Is it where it's on practice club or where it starts hip hop?
That's for the big.
The same else.
I guess.
That's pretty cool.
That's pretty cool.
I know that you love seeing your creation.
Taken off.
And.
And yeah, it's cool to see something that you know you made and it flourishing around the internet.
So that's pretty cool.
Okay.
So the last question.
What is next for Martin filter fighters and where can listeners play and support your work?
I know you already shared a link earlier.
But if you want to do it again, just to make, make sure that people understand.
Go ahead.
Okay.
One thing I was going to continue to add characters.
Hopefully.
The Martin.
Here's this kid.
Help me get a license.
And I know they would like to get license cause.
It's so be.
I don't think they're having trouble with the help you get get a license or you should.
Right.
But they look.
I'm pretty sure they enjoy this publicity.
I don't think.
I don't think Martin being treated like this ever since the internet has been around.
Yeah.
But yeah, I was hopefully I get.
Get official meeting with them.
So make it meant to get even bigger like with a better budget, I want to make it have like.
The graphics that you see in real fighting game.
With a Marvel focus on.
With a better graphics.
I know now it's just like a copy.
Cupcast like I never got the Friday game.
Oh, yeah, I think that.
Yeah, I said that one.
Yeah.
And then you got some people that already might it my game, which is cool to be expected.
But with a bigger budget.
It could stand stand apart from those cupcakes.
And then people know that no original person made it so.
It's good that I put my name on there.
So I can get proper recognition.
So yeah, this is going to be bigger things for this game.
It's going to continue.
You know, continue to make people here.
Yeah, I really hope you get the proper license from the actual networks and, you know,
hopefully, you know, Martin Martin Lawrence shots you out.
And, you know, probably, you know, DMs you and, you know, probably helps you get towards that, that goal that, you know, that license.
But, uh, but yeah.
I wish you luck.
Let me ask you a bonus question.
Well, so like, are you after this game, like, where are you going to go after this game in terms of like.
When this like, you know, dies on every single thing, just, just.
What, like, is there another game that you feel like that, that you're going to be doing after this or, um, this is just like, you know, you're going to stick with this and then.
Yeah.
I have, since this didn't mean to be, I have about 30 some people to reach out to me, want me to make a game for them, you know, they have ideas.
It was using, um, this artist original artwork and creating, so to do red, you know, he's here to do red times the different weapons, like a hammer.
And then they get it, they got a second name peak.
Different picks there.
And the picks and lunches, it projects friends here.
And then comes.
And they got to fight time clock.
And, and the fact it's not just there, it's the fact that we have more.
It's more, um.
opportunity mate.
black video games. So this was a black video game because it's not
there much in the market. So I got another person that wants me
make your gun didn't wrestle the game. It's like it's this one
that I deals. But I love it because it's people. Yeah, it's
people I did want to be, you know, they want to see a vision.
So I'm glad to help them. See you. Yeah, there needs to be more,
you know, black video games in the market because like there's
Arley and he said, I can't name a few other than if you remember
the Afro samurai game back in the day and it got d listed because
it was not that good. And I believe there was a game that can
a couple of years ago, but I don't remember the name of that
game. Yeah, yeah, that game. But there was also
Blade God announced as well. Marvel Blade got announced, but
that is not coming. And then Marvel 19, if I'm wrong, 1942
or 1946, I'm probably wrong about that one. It's also coming.
That's what's like Captain America and Black Panther. But
yeah, there's like, there's hardly that not much like, you know,
Black main character video games out there. So like, that's
need to be more. And yeah, and I'm glad that you made something
like this. And you know, I'm glad that you're going to be making
more or developing more games in the near future. So yeah,
okay, I thank you, appreciate you for coming on the podcast
tray. I hope you come back on the podcast in the future with,
you know, either, you know, with Martin or you know, or getting
Martin license or, you know, or a new game in the near future.
So I appreciate you. Thank you. Thank you. All right. So this
