Letting Water Dry + Being Out of Pocket

A podcast episode blends personal storytelling and cultural commentary, centered on themes of authenticity, spontaneity, and human connection. It begins with a powerful real-life story of Juan Nala, who raised $5,000 in less than a day on GoFundMe through a simple, heartfelt 30-second video, demonstrating how vulnerability and clarity can mobilize public trust. This is followed by a lively discussion about a new A24 rom-com film set during Thanksgiving, described as a comedic, heartfelt story of eternal romance and choice, which the hosts enthusiastically recommend for its chemistry, humor, and feminist depth. The episode then shifts to personal reflections, exploring "out-of-pocket" moments—unapologetic, unscripted actions like spilling drinks or making bold social statements—as acts of honesty and rebellion against polished, controlled culture. It also promotes lifestyle and wellness brands, including Gold Belly, Brooklyn Bedding, and ZockDock, highlighting real, everyday experiences. A recurring theme is embracing imperfection: like letting water dry on clothes or accepting messy situations, which the hosts see as signs of authenticity and joy. Ultimately, the episode celebrates spontaneity, vulnerability, and fun as essential to a fulfilling life, urging listeners to live more honestly and unapologetically. It concludes with a lighthearted, inclusive tone, emphasizing that true connection comes from shared imperfections and real human moments.

The following podcast is a Deer Media production. This is a paid message from GoFundMe. Meet Juan Nala. When a son was hospitalized for a viral infection, Juan started a GoFundMe to pay for medical expenses. It was 5k to pay the bill for my son and I need only 22 hours. It was amazing. People really trust on GoFundMe. How did Juan raise $5,000 in less than a day? He posted a short video on GoFundMe telling his story in 30 seconds. Be specific, big quick, and tell what are you going to be using the funds for? I was nervous to do it because it doesn't feel okay to ask money, but you shouldn't be nervous. Sometimes you just have to do it and see the results. We were able to save my son's life. Thanks to GoFundMe that we still have my son with us. Start your GoFundMe today at GoFundMe.com. That's GoFundMe.com. GoFundMe.com. This message reflects one person's experience. Okay, there's this quirky new A24 show coming. It's a movie, ultimately. It's a movie. Wait, it's pretend. It's a movie. After life about eternity, and can I say one name to you? Let's be the same. So basically, here's what happens. Yeah, what happens? Miles Teller doing an old-timey accent. I love it. Guys goes to, I guess, heaven. He meets their, his wife, who I guess has died recently as well. She's in a hospital gown. And so they have to figure out where they're going to spend eternity. And then, oh my god, her first husband who died in the war, like literally, came in like a wrecking boat. Hello. Do a Lepa's boyfriend on Turner. Here's what I want to see in this movie. And that's, I want some hijinks. I want comedy. I want romance. And I just want to watch chemistry between three characters. And you're literally sitting there and you're going, which one is she going to choose? Hi, you know, this is one of my favorite genres. Can I say something to you? Pearl Harper. Ben Affleck or Josh Hartnett? I mean, come on. It's kind of girl. I always get a video of this. Wait, why? I do feel cute today, which you take on that. I think you look amazing. I think you do, too. Can I ask you a real world thought starter? Yeah, I think I would love that. What would you do if you had to pick one? The Palm Springs Outlet. Of where I stay for eternity? Yeah. Yeah, cab is on in Palm Springs. If I had to pick between Calum and Miles. And Elizabeth. And Elizabeth. And I'm choosing Elizabeth every day. Well, I'm choosing Elizabeth every day, but it just depends on the kind of life that they're offering me. Here's what you'll win. Yeah, tell me. Do you get that? Of course. Is that what every relationship is? You want to know what's something that is really cool about this movie? What is? That it comes out on-- Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving. We, we, we, again, go to eternity. Uh-oh. Okay. But it's going to be in theaters. And I'm going to go see it in theaters, because first of all, I want to see it with my girls. It's amazing. It's amazing. It's amazing. We need to support rom-coms in theaters. Otherwise, they will stop getting theatrical releases. Yeah, you-- actually, we have to go to the movies. Like, knock it off, you guys. So, imagine, because I've experienced this two guys, which one will she choose. You're both still in the running towards becoming America's next song model. And I made a choice, and guess what? Both for wrong. And that's my girl. Wait. Nucks. Nucks. Put her there. Maybe eight. And I think this movie could have a plot like that, where she cares, actually. I'm spending eternity alone. How powerful would that be for women to see? For women. What a feminist-- Well, also, I want to see. Maybe I wonder if there's any kissing in this movie. So I guess what I'm saying is that you and I probably Thanksgiving Day, maybe the next day, Friday Thanksgiving weekend. I'll be thankful. We're both going to get tickets to this A24 rom-com. And we're going to have the time of our lives. I'm going to get some sour watermelons. I could see you with a large popcorn. And I freaking-- Well, they have Coke, Sarah. I had a lot of these places. You've got a Coke, Sarah, and Terry. So that's what I'm enjoying with you. I've been having a really good time. Eternity is in theaters on November 26th. Happy Thanksgiving. [MUSIC PLAYING] Hey, can you come pick me up? Joe, what's wrong? Nothing. Sure. Yeah, no, I just need a ride. Ride. [INAUDIBLE] No, I just want to have fun. Start your adventure. Hi, Joe. I'm Benito Skinner. I'm Mary Beth Rohn. And this is Ride. Ride. Welcome to the Graphic T episode. Here at the Geneva Convention. Of course. I actually, if I had to pick one place-- It's this, for sure. This feels like our home studio. Totally. Well, this is where you as the Joker made your announcement. Made your announcement. Well, not just that, but-- What else did I announce? What didn't you say that day? That's true. I kind of said all that needed to say. I have our last night trapped in my low back. So we're actually not going to talk about last night. We can't. Have you guys ever-- We've all signed NDAs. You know when a whole night can be a fumble? It was rough. It was a rough night, I won't lie. It was so bad that when we left Mary Beth, because you have to come home with me and eat chips. Yeah. And I did. That was the best part of my night. But can I just say, any baroni I meet at the club, that's my wife, that's my cousin, and that's my daughter? If you don't get that, just look at the facts. Yeah, no, that makes a perfect sense to me. They're just like-- They're the best girls you've ever known. And they come over and with smudgy liner, and they're like, oh my god. They're like, hi. One literally slid into the bar and goes, if any drama, seven. And I hadn't heard my handle set out loud to me in that way. Give me chills. And I thought, should I change it? And I thought, no, actually-- Well, lately, what's been a little confusing is sometimes people will come up to you and I think, so did they go to Georgetown? Or are they aware of the work? New York is different, because New York they'll just kind of touch you and be like, welcome to the graphic tee-- This is why we have a podcast and you don't. It's what I would like to say. God, we're really dynamic today. I know. Well, I'm hungover. And that's usually when the magic happens. I just can't sleep lately, but-- Annie, can't sleep. Can't sleep. Reach for the stars over the fence, world-series kind of stuff. World-series, world-series kind of stuff. Also, Glen Powell, if you're doing a little dog whistle for me, talking about Mary Kate Nash. She movies, just give it up. OK, it's not going to happen. Hey, Glen, it's not going to happen. Glen, it's just starting to seem a little creepy, dude. Hey, man, can I just say something? And I don't-- I don't need no offense. It's just a little obvious. Like, I get it. Let it go. Me too, Glen Powell saying, let her go. Let-- we've never met. We've never met. We've never met. And I know that I would have a really nice time with him. I know. I just can't-- I think he would be a good hang. Yeah. I'd love to hit the gym with him, just, you know? I need to shout out the flight attendant in Delta 1 travel privilege. I didn't pay for it. I was flown out. Oh, you're going to say Delta 1 and not have me say-- Miss Sony. 4 Delta 1. Her name was Spirit, and she went up to each person individually. She said, I'm always in my element, and I love what I do. And I just thought to myself, the world could use a little more of that energy. Well, if that-- you-- If that ain't me-- I am always in my element, and I love what I do. This morning, Mary Beth, because it's fucking podcast. I really don't want that record today. Well, no, but that's what we have to. I know. Oh my god, sweetie. You're so beautiful. Let's talk about straight men by roofing companies, because you put that in the note. So straight men do this incredible thing where they can just buy something like that. Do you understand what I mean? Like, they're like, they found a niche. They found-- and I think they're going to have to start doing this, because they're finding out that we've made every app. All the text stuff is done. Yeah. Bitcoin. Now they need to pivot, or so I was about to say that. I knew you were going to say that. I have a kind of a crush on him sometimes. OK. Do you know what I mean by that? I don't know what he looks like, so. Grunk? Isn't Grunk the football guy? Yeah, but I don't know if he looks like-- You ask him to engineer. He's always like in GQ with being cheeky. OK. Yeah, I think he's cute. Sure. Hey, Grunk, this is my big shot. Let it go. Hey, Grunk, DMs me. Let it go, dude. Let it go. No, you're a nice dude, but I'm not really into that stuff. Yeah, they just buy roofing companies. I guess I really don't have anything else to say to that. It's profound. It's what it is. Yeah, just kind of like-- this is what they do now. And I don't mind it, because I did once say, like, less get ready with me. It's more pilots. So this feels more, you know, hands-on. And I think the more we have straight guys using their hands, the less they'll kill women. So-- And I've always said that. Straight men are buying roofing companies because people who started roofing companies in the '70s, '80s, like 40 years ago, or however long ago, 40 years ago is. 25 years ago. Whatever. They're getting older. Yeah. So they're thinking, what was the young buck that I can-- But then they're making it a franchise. There's something-- And here's the thing. I know that there's something sinister in it. Do you know what I mean? Of course. They're definitely looking at climate change. Yeah. They're looking at places with natural disasters. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Printing money, my love. Of course. And yeah, they do that. And then they buy another. Like, we have a friend who owns a heating company. And when he revealed that at the Soho House, I thought to myself, huh, even there's more of these guys than I ever even realized. Same exact. But they just continue to surprise me. And I thought to myself, we've got nothing like that. No. I wouldn't want it, though. No. And mine is like, I can do bridal makeup. Totally. And I do want to say one thing, which is that I was informed that the peat-booted judge clip was clipped. So I guess he said, if there was a pill when I was younger to not be gay, I would have taken it. But thank God there wasn't a pill or something. something. Oh, so you got tired. I got tired. But what? So sure. Yeah, we don't have to cancel him for that. He's still a terrible candidate. So, okay, fine. Yes. I issue a correction. I couldn't find the full video. I wanted to fact check first. I wasn't able to find it. He's a centrist. So look at his other views and then decide if you really want to go to bat for this. Oh, this is the hill you want to die on. Come back. Come back to mama. He'll never win. Stop it. Stop it and grow the fuck up. Thank you. Okay. She's still got. She's got more on her agenda. Let's let her get it. We're going to the next. Then you just go to me. When's Rangers? You asked me when's Rangers. So I did ask when's like, when do they play it? But it's just sometimes it's like, let's drop the drop the whole sentence. Make it cleaner. For me, it's like, well, I know you meant you know what I meant when it sounds not words, words, not sentences. What I meant when do I put on my, because you know, I have, I have a custom Ranger. Me too. What's on the way? You do too. Yeah. Oh, I thought it was special. Fuck. I'm good as fuck. You're not. You're not. Oh, you're not. Let it go. It's pretend. You should know that. One deep breath. We'll cut all this. Why? I don't know. Something else I'd like to touch upon. There's nothing harder than being a woman dating a straight man who is looking to buy a leather jacket. Amplify. I have nothing. It's back to back for me to, I've dated two straight guys in a row who were looking to buy a leather jacket. When I tell you, I'm so sorry, the amount that they try on, the amount that they want it worn in, but maybe they want new, but actually the price is so much. No, the amount of links, the amount of links. And then it's about the shape and it's about the color. Is it brown or is it black? I've been through too much. The next person I date, the next guy I date, he will have already acquired. I can't be with someone that's like in the process of looking for that. And like you have to have found it. You meet a guy you like. It's you busting down his door. Day one. Where's the closet? Show it to me. Put it on the jacket. Show me the leather jacket. I have one. I'm good. You have a few. Well, come on. There's no such thing as introvert and extrovert. It's just there's some people I fuck with and some people I don't. Do you get that? You wrote that on the train. I wrote that on the train. I just think like it's all a bunch of bullshit. Oh, I'm an introverted extrovert. I'm an extroverted introvert. No, I think there's some people you like hanging out with who bring out your personality. And then there's some people that don't. And then you want to go home. Being at the lip gloss event was tough. That was hard on you, but like being at a movie with like 10 friends that you love. That's fun. I guess I just described a birthday party in fourth grade. But yeah, I had a great time. I can only imagine that fourth graders birthday parties now are lip gloss events, though. Like going to the movies was that that was from another time. So there is this place in LA. It's this is why you need to leave LA. Whatever you're about to say. And I wish I could say, Hey, come on, but it's like you're so right. There's a place in LA that opened and it's all just photo boosts. And it's called the photo booth museum and it's packed and you go in, and it's like 10 different photo booths. Let me just sit with you. I went in. I jacked off in every single photo booth. I saw it through the window and I thought, oh, is that the photo booth museum? When the bit turns into reality? What is reality? The photo booth museum. You're rendering me speechless all day today. I literally, I just in its packed. And you pay, it's just it's expensive too, I think. I mean, you're you're paying for lithographs. You know, we used to have culture. We used to have frozen Obama and pitch perfect. Oh, what do we have? We have nothing like that anymore. Just adding if I'm going to drop one more bomb before we move on to a ride. It is. Well, wake me up. I want to find someone who talks to me like I talk to Pinkie. When I get home and I see Pinkie, I'm like, you're perfect. You're an angel. Yeah. My sweetie girl. I say you're the best thing in my life. Get over here. One of the best things. Pinkie, I'm coming try your last one. And so I just want someone that's like as excited to see me as I am to see her. So Pinkie last night, I'm going to have to agree. I've I've never been loved in this way as I was by Pinkie last night. She saw me and she goes, I have a gay guy to take care of Mary Beth. Yeah. She said for me. She said, Mama, I love you. You're the best. You take care of me. You feed me. But this gay guy and a little white polo needs me right now. Should we talk about Pinkie in Toronto when I've never seen you more mad than when she knocked the camera over at the podcast studio. Okay. So this was a rough time. We were doing the pod on Sundays while we were filming. And I and I say with love, I mean, like you were filming a lot, but like I, I mean, it was I didn't have a day that wasn't routine. No, I know. And I think we were maybe hungover or something. But I had to bring Pinkie to record. She pooped immediately. She took a shit in iPod studio in the Gotham national bank. And she and me. I almost threw her in the street. Sorry. It was like, no, she did knock over a camera. I wasn't that stressed about it because I was like, we'll just get him if it broke. We got him a new camera. It was annoying though. It did break. No, what broke was the tripod? The tripod broke. Okay. Yeah. But I replaced it immediately. And it ultimately was fine. Also, that guy was so high on weed that I don't think he really cared. I hate the smell. I'm sorry. I'm finding that in just it's tough. The smell is tough for me sometimes. It smells like a skunk. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Which I saw the cutest skunk in L.A. recently. I don't know. I just all these things. We got to get you out. Yeah. No, I know. Well, I keep seeing these animals. And they're. L.A. has no wildlife. I feel like I saw the cutest skunk. And I have that coyote. But maybe we need to get you out. But I think I'm snow white because they look at me. I know. I don't know why. It's like I watch the other day. And this dog was sorry. I can't L.A. is not doing good today. It was in a, you know, a carriage carriage. It's not even a stroller. It was like a full carriage. Yeah. And this dog just look at me like it knew everything about me. So again, those are those really electric stories. And that's why I'm in the seat. I am. And you guys aren't. You guys aren't. And we're coming through your speakers. So we get it. We just did. Oh, the pinky in my defense that morning. It was tough. The body had the body score. It's recording during filming was like because we love our girls. Yeah. And for no other reason, it wasn't for money. Trust me. I don't think we made a dollar. I'm not even joking. No, I don't think we made one dollar on those episodes. So what I would say is like we did that for you in some days were harder than others. And she did not get camera over. She did not get camera. When green lights happen, that's when I knew that it was all worse. I know. I know. I know. I've never, I still don't think I've laughed like that. I wonder if maybe come on, her plunk did make me laugh that hard. But I'm trying to think of you and I had a really good laugh recently. And I don't know what it was. That's just for us. It's private. Should we get to know what you're right for? Yeah. So today, I'm going to be writing for being out of pocket. And I'm going to ride for letting water dry. Let's get into it. Hey, you guys. Welcome back to ride the pod ads. I feel like today, it's going to be extra bad quality because I am in a spaceship at a 24's office. That's right. I think we all know at this point that one time I had a cavity and I was in Los Angeles so I was not able to go visit my family dentist that I still have in Connecticut. So what I had to do in that instance was I had to go on ZockDock.com. I had to and I had to find a dentist in my area. So, to you, I would say, remember that doctor's appointment you were supposed to make a while ago. The one you meant to book, but you got sidetracked and completely forgot about it until just now as you're listening to this podcast. Well, first I want you to finish listening to this episode of Ride and then what I think you should do is go on ZockDock. ZockDock is a free app and website. That's right, it's both. Where you can search and compare high quality in network doctors and click to instantly book an appointment. With ZockDock, you can book in network appointments with more than 100,000 doctors across every specialty, including a dentist and Los Angeles. For mental health to dental health, primary care to urgent care and more. You can filter doctors to take your insurance or if you want to go out of network to pay more on purpose, you can do that, I think. You can find ones that are located nearby are a good fit for any medical need you may have and are highly rated by verified patients. Once you find the right doctor, you can see their actual appointment openings, choose a time slot that works for you and click to instantly book a visit. Appointments made through ZockDock also happen fast, typically within just 24 to 72 hours of booking. More often than not, you can get even same day appointments. What could be better than that? Stop putting off those doctor's appointments, you go to ZockDock.com/ride to find an instantly book at top rated doctors today. At zoc.doc.com/ride-zockdock.com/ride. Wait, where are we going? Who cares? Ride! Actually, I do wonder. I wish there was a poll every week where we did, like, the music. But then we've ruined, you know, the things for that. The mystique. Yeah. Can I read you some stuff? Please, oh, and you will be going first. I'll take out my phone. So this is the first episode I've ever prepared for. So being out of pocket, it's kind of hard to describe. I think you'll feel it and you'll know it when you see it. So I'm not going to look at the exact definition because, you know, I don't need to be on Urban Dictionary today. But the vibe is essentially when you, do you remember Urban Dictionary? Of course. We should ride for that at some point. Yes. So being out of pocket is essentially like, you do something and it's just like, "Buck, you know, it's just like you say something, you do an action, you come for somebody." And it's usually unapologetic. It's unapologetic and unabashed. A hundred percent. Like a lot of Brad is out of pocket. Like a lot of, you know, okay, so I'm going to tell you a few things and maybe this will help. It's a little like Tyka in a way. Yeah. So, oh, starting out the gate, the boy is mine by our underground day. Releasing that song with what was going on, that's one of the most out of pocket things I've ever seen. And I'm also not here to say, I'm not, hey, morality's out of this today. I don't, I'm not here to tell you what's good or bad. I just think being out of pocket in a culture and in a time that's in a public form. In a public form, I have to respect it. And I'm appreciating it for the pop culture artistry that it is. Totally. And for kind of having like a big sexy crass statement. It's a declaration. All of these are that. But also, I think something I would love more of is people need to do more out of pocket stuff. So there's more gossip in the world. Did someone else me for gossip the other day? And I only had gossip about myself. You have good gossip though. I know. The gossip about yourself is amazing. And I'm doing it for the culture. It gets me through plenty of ideas. I'm doing it for the culture. I know. And no one else. I know. All of these things are for the culture because I think that culture is dying and that we need, we need people to do shit like this because I think there is maybe too much PR training. Like the death of out of pocket is PR training. Totally. Which you, I'm so glad we put you through it. I did. I sat there. I smiled. But you blocking a number of people. Yeah. When Lord said being friends with Taylor Swift is like being friends with someone with a terminal illness. What? I don't remember that. When my grandma asked my mom if I was a fairy. When you said you were fatherless on the pod first time back. That's icon shit, you know. I was a singer. He was my fan. When Shailene Woodley said well then you should probably eat something to that woman on the red carpet. You're going to post about it. Haley Stimwell's Kendrick Lamar having the Super Bowl stadium yell A minor. Yeah. I literally got. I know. That was a crazy moment. That I would say kind of all of this is it's it's it's adjacent to faux pas. But it's like it's like a faux pas where you control the narrative because it's like a positive. Yeah. When I think it's just like it's so cool. Marina Bromovic this artist she was asked for like who would you rather have dinner with and it was Kim Kardashian and someone else and she goes well I've had dinner with Kim Kardashian. I don't need to have it again. It's just it's like that's just crazy. I would say every time someone's out of pocket it should make you go like yeah. God what else do you have any off the dome? I mean this is this is my story. A lot of them are just me. Well that's what yeah it's hard because it's like your gossip. I could just like shout it into the mic right now but I won't. I don't know if I do that many out of pocket things. One time during media emailed us asking if we would have this one person as a guest. Remember my response? Just read it. Let's just read it. Yeah and they followed up because we didn't respond. I said Beni and I chatted. I think blank is a great guest in theory. I just honestly don't think they would do our podcast. I don't know if Beni agrees but they've never acknowledged my existence publicly and I've met them several times so it's just a bit odd. I'm not totally opposed. I just think they wouldn't do it. Deaf love to see any and all guest ideas you have and we'll always provide honest feedback. Well you're at the end of the day you're always a professional. You're always going to write an email. That's just it's you know what I love about your emails. They build you up. They take you down and they build you right back up. Yeah that one definitely. I would say all your emails if I just had it. I'll put stuff in writing too. I don't give a fuck. Send that to the person. Everything I said is true. Greta Thumburg is out of pocket all the time. I need to write for her. You have to. She's incredible. She's literally incredible. She's one of our brave souls that we have. Yeah she no she really is. She might be the only brave soul that we have. Who else? Idris Elba saying that his daughter didn't book a role to play his daughter in a movie because they didn't have chemistry. Out of pocket. But to say that. Yeah that's what's out of pocket. You don't have to you didn't have to tell anyone out of pocket. That could have been a secret. Yeah. You could have taken that to the grave. I think you can wear out of pocket stuff too. Oh yeah definitely. Last night I had an actor. I was like yeah I kind of have some crowspeed and some lines on my head. But I'm too afraid to get Botox because like I fear that I won't be able to emote in the way I need to. I like you are dry. You get to. But I think I go like this sometimes. Whoa I just felt that. She just goes I like the lines. Don't ask questions you don't want to say I don't know if that's out of pocket. Oh my god one that's so good. Kendall Jenner tweeted if Rihanna doesn't play complicated tonight this was years ago. Yeah if Rihanna doesn't play complicated tonight I'm going to be so mad. Rihanna quoted her and said then don't come. Rihanna also one time tweeted I hate broke bitches and someone quoted it and was like all I've ever done is support you. Her Twitter and good luck. Can we can we say it together? One two three good luck. Bucking that stage you speak up. You said fucking you just a fucking we say try let's try it one more time. Bucking that stage you speak of. Charlie was really out of pocket at the Brit Awards. I think like two years ago where they asked where I was like all male nominees for. Oh my god speaking of out of pocket. Natalie Portman at the Golden Globes. Here's the all male nominees. Yeah. God she's out of pocket a lot. She's amazing. She's fantastic. God I love that. I have no notes on that. God I love Natalie Portman. And dear media clip that. I would love to hear it honestly from the Baronees. Your favorite moments that people have an out of pocket. And they can be people in your life. They can be famous. Yeah. I posted on my story that everyone should be like writing their crushes down. You should have a top choice. You should have a reach. You should have a safety. And then you should have a wild card. And people were like asking me follow up questions in my DMs. I'm like it's pretty self-explanatory. It's whatever you want it to be. Just have fun with it. Wild card is such a, I mean, that's so cool. You threw that in there. Yeah, well, I'm curious. You didn't tell me who your wild card is. I don't have one yet. Take your time with it. You don't have to rush it. No, it's, I mean, it's all fall. We have all fall to figure this out. So should we get into a letting water dry? That's right. I can't think of, well, yeah, yeah. Well, let's get into letting water dry. But also, I just can't stop thinking about last night. Yeah, so bad. Last night when I was asked to explain, come on, Kerplunk. And I said, again, what is there to explain? I had to say to someone. Want I to look in someone's eyes, their arm vein. bulging towards me, and say, "So Ben he was in the bathroom and someone took a shit." And it made the noise, and then he just said, "Come on, Kirk Plunk!" Kirk Plunk, the person has come forward for Kirk Plunk. Right. No, they did. Right. They've owned it, and I think that's beautiful. So. Oh, and we love you. Here's what I'm going to say about letting water dry. Okay, but one more thing, for some reason I'm not, I think my winner of all of that out of pocket, if I had to, it's a tie between Kendrick Lamar, a minor and Ariana Grande, the boy is mine. It's very, yeah. Musicians are giving us beef. The boy is mine. I can't. What? I love it. I just like to slow down. If you hit that in a car at the right moment and drive right off the freeway. Well, the boy is mine, and the source material, Brandi and Monica. I mean, come on. I have them on the remix. The boy is mine. The boy is mine. That's when we had culture. So I appreciate all the celebrities who are trying to bring it back. We need to be having more fun. Celebrities need to be having more fun. It's also boring. People are so scared to look bad, I guess. I don't know. I mean, I understand there's a lot of like scrutiny and stuff. But yeah, it's just like, I want to bring back having fun. I think you are. It's an idea that I had. I mean, you announcing a breakup on Seth Meyers. I can't believe that wasn't the first thing I said. That is like pretty out of pocket. That was. Yeah. I mean, I, I found out a day before you just go, yeah, I'm doing it. Great. Yeah. That was out of pocket. Yeah. I don't think I've ever done anything out of pocket. Can you think of anything ever? I'm. Okay. Let me think about it. Come on, Kerplunk is certainly. That's out of pocket. Okay. I think. Okay. And then talking about it on the podcast. Yeah. I guess when I talked, came out with a frag. I think probably insane. That's not out of pocket. There's no word for what that is. There's no word for it. There's nothing. No. Okay. Cool. I think it's not out of pocket. No one's calling each other how anymore. This Simpson writing a memoir and naming names out of pocket. There's not one name she left out. I'm sad I'm not in the book. No. No. Well, you could be in the next one. God, your book. Tell us. My book is going to be really long. When the child is T, but the finite is gag assist. I'm dead as a child. Girl. Real. But, hey, if I have offered you anything in my long career, it's a platform to show your range. And I'm excited to talk about this today. Halloween episode, even coming. Yeah, so. You get to be a woman this year. Thank God, a grown woman. Well. Okay, so this came up a few weeks ago, because I was in a group of people. I don't remember where I was. Maybe on set for something. Do you need some water on you? Yes. It was a supersoaker. It was a supersoaker of it. No, someone spilled water. And then some people, it was at the photo shoot. It was at the photo shoot in London. Oh, photo, photo shoot incoming. We're excited. Oh, yeah, we have such a good photo shoot coming. I'm like, it's so, I'm like giddy for Barroni HQ to see. I know. I like. I want to send her the proofs. Send her the contact sheet. You pick. We would never. Yeah. So water spilled at the shoot. Oh, sorry. You're addicted and not letting me talk about letting water dry. How about letting Mary Beth speak? Have you ever thought of that? What do you have to say? Barroni HQ. Congrats on your wedding. Oh, yes. Congrats. We love you. She's a bride. We were there, but undercover. Yeah. Covert. Who's covert? Yeah. I think she went on her honeymoon in the Caymans. I went to scope it out a few weeks prior. It's looking good down there. All heels and bikini. Yeah. I want to bring back heels and bikini. Yeah. I'm so down. Like, no one's wearing heels and bikini anymore. I'm sorry. There's a photo of Jessica Simpson wearing like a sweat suit, like a jogger sweat suit in the 2000s with high heels. Like, no one's doing that anymore. You kind of do. Although I will say I have, there's a specific photo of Lindsay Lohan wearing a bikini with an ankle monitor in heels. Yeah. I just saw that the other day. Did you have the best day? I had an amazing day. I mean, it's just like, that's a perfect image. Yeah. It's like, anyway, the angles, it's, you know, every, it's perfect. It's perfect cemetery. Cemetery. Come on, curplunk. That's us, girl. We need a curplunk button. All right. Let water dry. Speaking of curplunk. Yeah. So water spilled on set. And I realize that there's two types of people. There's people that are going to clean that up with paper towels and contribute to the landfills. And then there's people that are just going to let the scientific process of letting water dry happen. I am the latter. I'm going to let water dry. Unless water is spilling on a piece of technology. If I spill water in my home, I think to myself, well, that's going to dry anyway. So why would I clean it? Why would I exert that effort? Unless it's on floor, because then you can. No, I'm letting it dry. Oh, you want them to slip? I'm letting it dry. I want them to slip. Yeah. I just, there's no one coming into my place. It's me and Pinkie. You want me to ask down? Well, now that you're coming over more, I guess, I guess I'll start maybe. considering cleaning it up. But what's the point? It's like it's going to dry. That's literally water's whole thing. - You're with the cigarette? What's the point? - This is really bad girl of you. - Yeah. - This is your very like-- - Well, I'm in my party real-era. - You really are. - I am. - It's so fun, I'm like drinking with you. - Yeah, it's awesome. - 'Cause I don't, I, you know, I feel like I kind of am too. - I just think to like rush to go get a paper towel when water spells it, I just don't understand it. If it's a carpet or a couch, I'm still not cleaning it. Even in the car, just let it dry. - Let water do its thing, please. - Hey, you gotta see this. - I do really accept that. - Well, you know what, everyone knows I love science and I just think-- - They know I don't. - Yeah, they know you don't. Obviously, if it's a different liquid like coffee or like a diet coke, I'm gonna clean that up. But I think, yeah, it can be really powerful to just see something happen like that. And your type A personality, just for that one thing, it's just, it's just falls by the wayside. - Type A and type B is so interesting to me because I'm not particularly clean, but then there are some things that I'm like, it has to be perfect. I don't know-- - Absent compulsive disorder. - That's about it for today. So thanks you guys to spend awesome. We don't need to do right or die. I think you know the answer. - Am I wrong? - Yeah. No, and you never have been. And that's kind of the problem, I would say. I call you and I wonder-- - This could be the first thing you die for, I guess. Letting water dry. - Are you kidding? I love to leave a mess. (laughing) I am so excited about this. I'll let tang dry, I don't give a fuck. I'll let a smoothie dry, let a crust. Here's the thing, I wonder if also, on top of this, if letting water dry, I wonder what you'll think of this. So I'm at the Los Cultrices, does-- - Culture words. - Culture words. - Culture words. Take it up with the gay guys. I'm gonna leave you to it. You don't live in LA. - I'm gonna invite it, I don't care. - Baby, you don't live in LA. - In invitation means, oh, oh, and speaking of which, two times last night you got to witness me being profiled. - You were in a bedazzled tube top. - Rachel, Rachel profiling. (laughing) - I can't. - Racial profiling a white woman is when you accuse Mary Beth Barone of living in Los Angeles, stop it. How many late night, how many nationally broadcasts? - I just treated this like a way. - How many nationally broadcasts, talk shows must I go on and declare that I live in New York City, the United States. - I'm sorry, I think it's literally the close. - People in LA have no style. - You have color and ver. - I wore a black tube top last night with baggy jeans. - It was sequined, it was saline. - It wasn't sequined, it had sparkly things on it. - It was bedazzled. - Two times you watched that happen. - I know, and I'm-- - How long are you here for? - And to me, one person just goes, "You're in New York, right?" - I'm honestly getting pissed off. I don't-- - I don't piss what, this is happening now. - I don't, I-- - Oh, 'cause you've been in such a good mood. - I post, how many times must I post the New York skyline? Every time I post me or now I go, I live here, by the way. - You should just keep going. - What were you saying? - Well, so is that the culture words? - Oh yeah, wasn't invited. And, oh my God, it's like, "Let it go." - Oh, so everyone-- - Let it go. - Oh, so everyone thinks I live in LA until it's time to invite me to one of this. Oh, I see, I see, no, I get it, I get it. - You doing this is kind of like out of pocket junior, I would say. - Baby, it's a mini out of pocket. - I will say, you know who I'm out of pocket with a couple of straight guys that you talk to. - Yeah. - I really am just kind of like-- - Yeah. - I talk to them. - As you should be. - One of them-- - Put them in their place. - This one guy that like sometimes works with Mary Beth, I was talking to him at an event and he kept doing this bit and I go, "You really love this bit, huh?" (laughing) And then I asked for a cheat kiss and then I walked away. And we're all good. I mean, he's still, I think he thinks I'm a total, you know, a total baby-- - No, he's obsessed with you. Every time I talk to him, he says you have a perfect body, so-- - Fine. - He gets one point. - Yeah. - So, okay. - You're at the culture words. - I'm at the culture words I'm talking to. - Oh, yeah, right. - Love of our lives. Bad weekend about you not being invited. We were kind of glad you were in a round. - We made it more comfortable for us. - I'm cut the fucking cameras. I'm done. - Cut the cameras. - I'm done. - And I have a diet coke before 'cause I'm going up on stage and I get a little nervous and it's weird. I've never, you know, like the writers or whatever that we had, you know, like the-- - Writers? - Like a writer. - Yeah. - But explain that 'cause that's confusing. It sounds like you're saying writer. - So it's an industry thing and I'm sorry to do this and I know like we want-- - Writer privilege. - We want you to just still know that we're just these kids, this kid from Idaho, this girl from Connecticut, we're the same people. It's where you have a request for a venue to get you some kind of food or drink or some people I think are insane. You know, some people ask for like laptops and shit. - Well, the writer in overcompensate episode for when Charlie, when it's like, - That's right. - coming as heat of chips. - Yeah, and I made a joke of it. - Yeah. - But mine was always just like Coke, but-- - Coca-Cola. - Coca-Cola. But in San Francisco, at this one place, my team sent it to them and this girl comes to me and she's like, I'm fine Coke. And I was like, really? I feel like they have it everywhere. - I have a score. - And she went. - Yes, babe. - I mean, I don't know if it's everywhere and I was like, oh, okay, I was just like, do you want me to get, I was like, and it's okay. Like, I don't, 'cause it just before-- - No, you thought the table don't lie. - Well, I slapped her. - But she thought you meant cocaine. - Yeah, she thought I meant cocaine. - She thought your team put that in writing. - Yeah. I think it's really why I probably did the joke. - It's that rock star fucking laced. - Yeah, I said, I'm not going to-- - Yeah, that's why you did the joke. - That's why you did the joke. - Yeah, overcompensate. - Yeah, yeah, that's why. So Pat accidentally, like most hate, like he kind of goes like this and in order to sabotage me and I got Diet Coke all over my shirt. - Oh, yeah, I remember this. - So Diet Coke dries light brown. - Light brown. - Just a light, it's like a, yeah, I would say it's kind of this. It's kind of this color all down my shirt, so then-- - This is giving me a stomach ache. - Here's the thing. I just thought he was like so pat we love you. He will be so mad I told this story, but he'll also just be happy. - It's just going to be spoken about. - Well, it's just like it's lore. I mean, it's-- - But actually, you doing this, it gets into my ride for next week. But I'm not going to say what it is yet. - Can't wait. - God, I love how you keep me on the hook. - Yeah. - It's like leaving panties at my place. - Glenn Powell, let it go. - So, and I just said, I'll button the jacket. - It's okay. - Did I picture this look with a button jacket? Of course not, you know, but it didn't matter at night. We just-- - You're so out of touch. - We let it. You're so out of touch. Does anyone else just feel like Mary Beth of Perron and being able to just get her really out of touch? - So out of touch. - I can't even listen anymore. - It's like, what the fuck are they even talking about? What is a rider? - All of them are in the car going like, I know what a rider is, fuck you guys. - You think I was born yesterday? - God, they think we're fucking dumb. - We want to be inclusive. We just want you to understand. - I just want you to know some of these industry secrets and blow the lid off this industry. - I'm so sick of it being totally gate-capped from everyone. - Yeah, but yeah, I just let it dry. It wasn't a big deal. You're dried and it dried light brown, but who gives a fuck? Like, dry cleaning exists, and I-- - And it was borrowed anyway. - It's also just like my godmother, I miss literally every single day. She-- - Wish I could have met her. - She was so iconic. Carmen, girl, fuck. But anytime I would spill something, you know, it's like, it can be made into such a big deal and she just goes, "No big deal." - That just reminded me. There's a scene in Mad Men where Don Draper is used to being very to Betty who I'm gonna ride forward at some point, maybe season six. And she really did freak out about every little thing. And then he's on a trip with Megan, his assistant at the time, he brings to help with his two kids or three kids. And someone spills at the diner, they spill their drink, and she just like cleans it up with like no ceremony. She's just like, "It's okay, like accidents happen." And he in that moment fell in love with her. He then of course does cheat on her ruthlessly later once the love dies. - Today was a fairy tale. You were the prince. - Exactly. - Yeah, I need to watch it. I think maybe it's time. - Wow, I think that could be huge this winter. - I think so too. I think I'm ready. - Right. - There was nothing else to watch the other day. So I watched this Osama bin Laden documentary alone. And that was, you know. - Should we get into writer dies? It's feeling like I don't even have anything to add to that. You should just call me. Next time, call me. - I did. Can I just say, I did. And you picked up and we talked for an hour. Like, there was no-- - And then there was nothing else to watch. You have seen everything. - Hey, I'm all caught up. That's what I went into the end of Netflix. They go, fuck it, you've seen it all. - Wait, I thought of something that was out of pocket, but then I forgot. I don't remember. I think it. - Yeah. - I just spilled a little. What were you to? Yeah, I don't know, I forget. - You did something in London recently that was out of pocket, but I'm forgetting when it was. - Sounds like something I would do. - Mary Beth to me recently went, can I just take care of something and you trust me? And I said, yes. And it was like, it was out of pocket in the end, but it's just, you're as good as they get, kid. You got that? - I would say like, I know this much to be true to have me in your life. Your universal is a gift. That's all I can say. Like it just is. - I'm not, I'm not a gift, but you are. - No, I think we both are. And that's why people like the podcast. - To know us is to adore us. - You know what you are, Vinnie? - Hmm, a fuck. - Your word's not mine. Babe, you're my rider, die. - Ride or die? - I obviously ride for letting water dry. I think how cool is that? Also, if you spill something on something and you just kind of go like this with a low washcloth and water, let that dry. Staying gone. - Oh, me leaving school 'cause I had dry skin is out of pocket, but I wouldn't do, but this gets into next week, so. - Okay, but yeah, I just think you continue to surprise me. That's why I think I, no matter what I show up, I show up because I would have never thought-- - I'm not sure if it's a Geneva Convention. - I sit here and I look at you and awe. - I got my nipple repairs too. - I know. - I forgot to announce that. - I called you sobbing and then I looked at our, it was that weird thing where you call someone before you see the thing these things. - So I sent a picture of my nipple piercing. You call me sobbing. I'm like, I'm so sorry to disappoint you, but you were sobbing about something totally different. - Yeah, exactly. I'm like, how could you do that? - I love your nipple piercing. - Yeah. - I was on the streets of Soho. - You had a, I mean, oh my God. Oh, I think I know what you're writing for next so I won't compliment something else right now. - Thank you. So-- - I just know you too. - No, I mean, yeah. So I ride for being out of pocket. As you know, like, I don't see it. - How could you not? - I don't do it intentionally. I think I just live, like I live honestly. I think when you live honestly, you're more prone to being out of pocket because my mom is out of pocket all the time. - God, she really is. - She taught me everything I know about being out of pocket. And my dad too, to be honest, because he just would, it's very tell it like it is, we just don't have enough of that in the world right now. - No. - So I think, yeah, make art, make trouble be out of pocket. And like-- - Oh, Cruella was so fun. - Cruella was so out of pocket. - Yeah. - When she's like, "I'll fucking kill these dogs." I'm dead ass right now. - No, for real. For real. And that's a kid's video. - Yeah. - It's a movie. - All of the kids movies we watched are out of pocket. - It's pretend there aren't 101 Dalmatians in the world. - It's pretend. - How often are you seeing a Dalmatian? - You know what? 'Cause every time I see a Dalmatian, someone has to tell me that they're dicks. They have like a reputation. - Reputation. - And she but e-news. - Totally. - Those apparently have a attitude. - I think be out of pocket this week. I mean, don't get yourself fired. But like, just have a little fun this week. - Can I say, there's something in all of it. It's a little bit of taking power back. And I like that aspect of it. As you, as I hear you talk about it. That's what I love. And I, I think that's what you did on set. And that's what you do every day. - And what else is there really to say? When Powell? - It goes. - Oh, my exit. - Anything but eyes on the road. - There you go! - Rye, rye! - Please note that this episode may contain paid endorsements and advertisements for products and services.
