I'm like rudderless when it comes to them because I think they're obviously good because they're fifth, but it's been impossible to escape the feeling that they're not the best version of themselves or not the version of stockpour that we expected to see this season. And I don't think that's just our perception from the outside. I think Dave Chaliner, in the way that he's spoken about his team at regular points over the course of the season, has come across like he hasn't got as firm a grip on this team or as clear an idea on this team as he has done previously. And that is recognizing the absurdly high standards that he has set and this stockpour team. How good are they? I really don't know. And are they going to get better from this point? Or are they broadly going to be about as good as they've been in 38 games over the next eight games? Like I really don't know is the answer to that. Reading, we're going to 3-0. This was more comfortable. Big Kelvin at the double is great to see that six goals in six games for him. He has scored in Redding's last three wins, which Jack Marriott injured after his incredible goal scoring run. They need a big Kelvin to step up. He had some doubters within the fan base and he has silenced them to a certain extent. They are sick at the moment, but this is how crazy this playoff picture is. Reading sixth in Skybet in the playoff spots right now. Skybet's current odds of Reading to finish in the top six 11 to 2. 11 to 2. They're played nearly all their games already. That shows what a kind of confusing picture it is because obviously stockport and steamnich have two games in hand. Argan and Huddersfield have one and some of these teams are ticking along fairly nicely. Reading have, and this is also just crazy. Since Liam Richardson was appointed five months ago, they've got the third best record in the whole division, Reading, which objectively makes that seem like a brilliant appointment, a brilliant decision from the owners, from a result standpoint, impossible to argue, but still the vibe is far from as sensational as you might expect for a team that have flown up the table. And are now in the top six where it looked completely out the question under Noel Hunt. Their last eight games, builds a pretty confusing picture. They've won four of them, including beating Bradford and Luton, impressive wins, but they also lost at stevenage in really disappointing circumstances. They drew at home to our gile in a in a topsy-turvy one. They drew at Vail. They lost at Mansfield, not great. They beat Reading comfortably. They beat Burton. Good stuff. Very, very difficult for me to understand the true level of stockport and Reading. They are good teams. How good will they be over the next eight games in stockports case six games in Reading case? I really don't have a strong steer. That's why it's so exciting to watch stevenage seventh on 60 with 38 games played. Wickham eighth on 59 with 40 games played. Tell me about them. Yeah, very close together in the lead table, but you have to think that stevenage is two games in hand on Wickham and Gaming Hand on plenty of the teams around them might be significant here. I'd also say that stevenage looked to me to have the kind disfictures of the teams are talking about going into this part of the season where they got two more, but they played rather on my way, Blackpool at home. Couple of very tough games, Bradford and Bolton away come after that, hosting Lincoln. Lincoln, you think by then we'll be up and probably title winners. Then the last three games are Barnes Day at home, Don Castro away and we're going to home again three teams you'd expect to have nothing to play for. Last four games could be against teams with nothing to play for, which could be significant. I also just think four of their last five games, finished one, one way or the other. This is back to the stevenage who started the season, like conceding very few goals, decent from set pieces, finding a way to come out on top in marginal games. I think in the position there, if they manage to keep say five clean sheets between nine and the season, that's probably going to be enough to get them into the top six. I'm pretty sweet on their chances to force their way in with Wickey. I think they're playing really well at the moment, but it feels like they have a team that can't really get out of their own way. They beat Port Vale 4-0 on Saturday in a really dominant result. They also went to Cardiff and beat them 2-0 a couple of weeks ago, but at the same time they go to Orin, lose 2-0, they go to Bolton and from a ridiculously commanding 2-0 lead going into the 88th minute, lose that game 3-2, host Luton and Concedue from set pieces. I think they're a team that may be on quite ready now to finish in the top six. It feels like Mike Duff is starting to make them much better from an attacking perspective. They're probably a team to keep in the open for next season. Games coming up pretty tough too. They have the quality to mount the challenge needed, but with 40 games having already played 40 games and still being outside of the top six, I'd be surprised if they managed to finish in the six when the music stops. I enjoyed their attacking play at home to Vale on the weekend, but when I really analysed it, it turns out that Port Vale's defence had basically given up after about 10 minutes. And maybe that's because Fred Onyardin was playing so well, but it was pretty embarrassing from a Vale point of view. They won't have it that easy. In general, they do score a lot of goals at home though, Wickham. Let me talk to you about 9th place, our Garl and 10th place Huddersfield. Now, our Garl are two points outside the playoff places. They've got a game in hand over Reading and Wickham, but they've played a game more than Stockport and Stevenage. Since the start of December, our Garl have picked up the third most points in League 1. That's a four month period. Since the start of January, three month period, they've picked up the second most points behind Lincoln. Since the start of February, they've picked up the second most points behind Lincoln. Since the start of March, the second most points behind Lincoln. Statistically, I think there's an argument that our Garl are the second best team in the league right now. In the last 19 games, they've scored 39 goals and considered 22 for a plus 17 goal difference in the previous 20 games, the first 20 games of the season. They scored only 21 and considered 32 for a minus 11 goal difference. It's a transformation without a managerial change, the likes of which we've not really seen before. And their attacking play is pretty relentless, both from Openplay, but also particularly from set pieces where they are a massive threat. Ronan Curtis, Caleb Watts, really good attacking players. Then there's the strikers, Pepple or Sini, the currently injured tollei who I hope we'll see again soon because what a player he is. Boating in midfield, very underrated, I think, in League 1 terms this season, just a quietly key cog for them. And the back four, this is crucial to give them the platform much more settled. You've got Hazard and Gull, Edward Mitchell, Ross McKenzie, back four. They've kind of cracked it and look, there's seven more games and the form might tail off and it might not be sustainable. But if all of these teams play at broadly the same level as they have done over the last, let's say, three months, our guy are going to make the playoffs. There's no doubt in my mind. Quite friendly fixtures, quite friendly, bottom at home, tricky on Good Friday, but they will be very confident. Then they travel to Barnesley who are in a bit of a spin. They host Exeter in a massive spin in the Devon Darby. Then they travel to Wimbledon who at that point, I think, will be pretty beachy. They travel to Bradford, not an easy one at all. They finish at home to Port Vale and away to Northampton Town. Again, the only way I could predict our guy will not making it from this point with that fixture list is if unforeseen circumstances come to the fore and well, I can't see them. When it comes to Huddersfield in the last week or so, some news from the club that their head coach Liam Manning is to be given compassionately for the rest of the season in a statement the club said, Liam's made the club aware of ongoing personal matters relating to the tragic passing of his newborn son, Theo, in October 2024. He will now be given time away from his professional duties. We send him so much love and his family as well. Everyone connected to the club and to his former clubs who will be feeling his pain. The team will be overseen by Martin Dury and John Stead in his absence. It's very difficult to predict or analyse Huddersfield in this context and with their seven remaining games this season, their four points under sixth spot with a couple of teams in between them. They're not in great form. The team's been struggling for wins, struggling for goals. They're definitely not compared to some of the teams we're talking about, currently looking like a slick unit for the confidence and good partnerships. If they perform in big games, they'll be a factor. They've got Reading, they've got Wiccom, they've got Cardiff, they've got Bolton. Could be quite interesting with two games to go if they go well over the next few games. It seems unlikely right now, but they finish with Manning's Field at home and then Wimbledon away. If they can get to that point with a shot at something, it's quite a nice way to finish the season, but some big games coming up, particularly Reading at home on Good Friday with Martin Dury and John Stead taking the team forward for now. What would you say just kind of good form? Yeah, I suppose. I guess I know you're right. But the sneakiness, they've lost one game in their last two matches. the 21st of February or the 18th of February, which was a 3-2 defeat against Red. They've lost one in seven. They've won two in seven. That's pretty sneaky, I'd say. The points for which I was not great. Sneaky. They won two of the last three. But I was going to say, it seems to have come down to basically just being quite good from set pieces, which I'm not sure is necessarily. I mean, it can be a route to success. It does feel like Ja'Wilshin might have stumbled across a way to improve results, even if I'm still pretty. I'm left feeling pretty cold by booting for the most part. I find it hard to see them going on the run needed. They've paid 40 games, so they've got six games left this season. They're six points off six. If I'm honest, when you sent me the running order, I was a bit surprised to see them in there. There's obviously a chance if they go on a run, they could force their way in. If they go to Embley and they beat Stockport in the Virtue trophy, that could give them the kind of boost that could kickstart their season, I guess. This is a relatively kind. They host Peter Branex. They host Northampton after the final. They go to Mansfield and Rotherham for hosting Barnesley. So, yeah, I mean, the games there are the things to be able to do it. I just haven't really seen enough quality from them to make me think they could have gone on a run of 18 points from six games. League 1 relegation picture. We've got Port Vale bottom on 31. Northampton on 35, rather on 36. Then a 7-point gap to Exeter who have dropped into the relegation zone. Then a 2-point jump to Blackpool and Wigan. Burton on 1-point above that on 46. Then three points up to Orient and Mansfield who are six points above it. Some big games coming up over Easter. We've got Wigan Orient on Thursday night. That's 17th against 19th. Blackpool against Exeter is absolutely ginormous with Blackpool on 45 and Exeter on 43. Availer at the bottom, I'll start with them. They've got Chelsea away over Easter weekend. Then iconic cup run so far, the one bright spot in a horrendous season. What chance an early Ben Wayne goal to make things really interesting at Stamford Bridge? I'd love to see that. When they get back to League form, will they simply unravel? I think there has to be a chance. Their performance in a four-nil defeat to Wickham suggests they might be unraveling. They are 14 points from safety. The back line is an absolute horror show. They're going to go down and pretty confident of that. But their performance in the remaining games will still be quite important to other teams this season. They still play, rather them, and Wigan, for example. Will that be an easy three points for those teams that might really need them or will it not? They play our guile. They play stockport near the end of the season. Will that be an easy three points for those playoff chases? They play Cardiff away as well at a time where if Cardiff have a tricky few weeks, they might just love a gimme home win against Port Vale. They still have a part to play, but they're going to get relegated. George Northampton and rather them, they are, yeah, 10 and nine points from safety. This escalated quite fast, hasn't it? Well, yeah, I think it looks pretty all over to me. I think these are the two worst teams in the league right now. We have two new managers. Colin Couldwood is the entry manager of Northampton. We'll be in post until the end of the season. I read Calvin Thomas's interview in this with an out-scope a days ago, and he basically admitted. In fact, I played to him. He was like, we kind of hope that Sakin Kevin Nolan might do something and it hasn't no managers that we want, but they're currently in jobs. I would think one might be a sudden Andy Woodman. So we're going to wait until the summer and we told Colin just to get as many points as you can between nine and the season. It sounds to me like they're a team that are kind of accepting their fate and hoping that maybe things can turn. But the performances are so poor that it's hard to really sit here and make a case as to why they might do. With Roller Room, you know, Lee Clark has come in. There was a three-year-old defeat against Lincoln last time. The fixtures don't look too tough. They host the evening's next, which we trick you, then they go to Port Vale and host Barnes, then go to Wigan, then go to Orient. So even though they're three away games, they're four games against teams that certainly weren't scared of Roller Room. If Lee Clark's team can build up some kind of a head of steam, then maybe they can force their way into the wrecking. But right now, to predict a turnaround for Roller Room, I think you've got to have a pretty high opinion of Lee Clark's managerial abilities and I'm not saying it, having that. So two teams that have had terrible seasons, alarming drop-offs and I can't really make a case as to why I'd improve. Yeah, X-Tur now in the relegation zone has been an absolute horror couple of months for them. They drew Neil all at home to Orient on the weekend. It was a pretty even game. Jane Werem had a big chance. He hit the post. Dom Ballard for Orient had a big chance. You'd have expected at least one of them to score those chances and certainly not for both of them to miss. Orient had a goal disallowed, which I thought was disallowed wrongly. So a bit of luck for X to there. Just the one point in the end, they had some chances near the end not taken. I think it was an important one for Orient not to lose because of Blackpool's win, which you'll mention shortly, X to drop into the bottom four. They are 14 games without a win and look, they've had these runs before in the last three seasons in League One. But always with Gary Codwell at the helm, trusted and trusting in his players to get them out of it. And that's what they've done. But he's not there now. Matt Taylor is. He doesn't appear to be dredging up anything particularly special, but it's not done yet. We made the point last week at this point in the season, you can drop into the allegations own and you can feel like it's only possibly heading one way. There are still six games to play. There's still opportunities to turn things around. League form in these leagues very rarely stays one way forever. So there's probably still another chapter to be written. And if I'm taking some positives like where, Reese Col, Carlos Mendes, Gomez, Niskin and one of the most creative players in the league for assists, can they get something going? A backline that previously this season has been a lot more solid than it is recently. The next three games are huge. Blackpool away. Congood Friday. The team directly above them. Donkaster at home who hadn't, you know, only recently pulled away from the relegation zone and it'll be feeling quite safe. And then Plymouth are guy at home. Their biggest rivals in their next three. Huge for extra. They are looking likely to go down right now, but it's not done yet. Blackpool. Wow. What a couple of weeks for them. They were down, George. They were the one that was down and now they're not even in the relegation zone. But they might still go down. Of course. It feels unlikely they feel like the team who have just found something quite an important time. We've seen two late goals or late turn rounds in one sense at Blackpool in the last couple of home games that have spots like jubilant scenes amongst the home fans. And that's a club that felt really down on its luck and really down in the last couple of months against Burton on Saturday. It was a C.J. Hamilton effort to finish into the near corner in injury time. It was a good one that created the one in the three points. It was an OK performance. It wasn't by any stretch brilliant, but that OK is much better than what we've seen for the most part from Blackpool over the course of the season. Think back to that midweek game a couple of weeks ago where they were 2-0 down at home to Port Vale with 20 minutes to go. How they lost that game, I think, in every one of them sat in the morning. I think their club would have been hurtling towards league 2, but instead actually got one and then a husband shot to fetched off real waters as neck and went in the back of the net and then went in three to go to Cardiff and draw a 0-0 in a really good battling display and then beat Burton one at home. The home game against X to feels huge. If they win that, I think that's pretty much job done and you have to fancy them to do it. So yeah, it feels like if there's any team in this relegation bat and league one who just found that spark, I think it's Blackpool. Wiggen and Burton, 45 and 46. So three and four points above it at the moment. We're going to have a game in hand over X to Blackpool and Burton. Wiggen undercalled well. They started with a four wins, two draw, two defeat record, which had them pulling clear of what looked like real danger. Jotaylor's goals have been absolutely astounding and so, so valuable for them. And well, they're a bit complacent because at the Mad Stad, on Saturday, they were really poor. Lost 3-0. Yeah, food for thought for Wiggen without wanting to get carried away. They have surely the easiest fixtures of this lot. They've got Orient at home, then Northampton away, then Mansfield at home, then Rotherham at home, then Port Vale away, then Wimbledon at home and then Steve Nigel away. So they are playing exclusively bottom half teams until the final day of the season. They should absolutely ease clear of relegation. But I suppose on the flip side, any defeat will be very, very significant. They'll be dropping points if they do lose, probably, to a team around them. So they have to make sure they don't get complacent. A couple more wins will do it. A couple more Jotaylor goals will do it and they can look to the summer with positivity, and Gary Coowell's good start. And Burton, they lost to Blackpool in injury time on Saturday. Bit of a shocker for them because I think a point there and they'd been feeling, you know, a lot comfier as it is. Only three points now, the gap between them and the relegation zone. Again, there can be absolutely no complacency. Now Tyree Shade was missing due to international duty and he's been so good recently, him and Jake Beasley, a massive differential for Burton in this relegation battle. And when Shade comes back, you know, expect them to retain that threat at the top of the pitch. Charlie Webster is back from his injury as well. It was probably their best player outside of those two before he got injured. They seem fine. Even the defeat at Blackpool was not a disastrous performance by any means. I think with Gary Boehler, it feels unlikely they're going to get complacent, fairly friendly fixtures as well with Barnsley and their Mansfield, then Wimbledon and Peterborough, their next turn later in Orient. Again, all teams 12th and below to finish the season. So I think they'll probably be fine. What about Orient and Mansfield, George? Only danger for them. They're of 49. So there's six points above it and tons of games in hand between them. Yeah, I think they should be okay. Mansfield in particular, they've only played 37 games. They should be okay. They're last four, five games are pretty grim. They're host Luton, they then have three consecutive away games against Topport, hardest field in Peter before hosting Cardiff on Final Day. So I think Mansfield fans and Nigel Kluff will want to get points on the board relatively soon, but I'd be, you know, a mighty fall apart and all mighty fall apart. It would be a huge, I mean, to be on four in the end, absolutely. fall apart 49. points from 37. - Incredible place to get relegated from. - Yeah, exactly. So I think they should be okay. And looking at not the top tables on nt220.com, their kind of five game and 10 game exchange ratio is really strong. Orient, like Fair Play to Richie Wellens, it feels like he's making big calls and getting them right. We're seeing consistently make changes at half time in games that were Matthew Craig came on for an injured Sean Cloud to 18 minutes on Saturday. And then went off again at half time. So like we know that Wellens is pretty happy to throw punches and rather than pull them. And he's, you know, at the moment, he's making decisions that seem to working. He got four home games left and three of those are against Mansfield rather than Burton. And so again, given the uptick recently, you have to think they're gonna be okay. - Okay. - Predictions. - League one, predictions with a month or so to go. My top two, Lincoln and Cardiff. - Yeah, I think Lincoln are gonna fall. Nah, Lincoln champions, Cardiff second. - The playoffs, God knows. I'm gonna stick with what I said two weeks ago. Bolton, Bradford, Stockport, Plymouth, our guy. - Yeah, I'm the same. I am the same. I think, yeah, Bolton, Bradford, Stockport and our guy. But I do worry a little bit about, I think one of Bolton, Bradford might sweat more than anticipating to sweat. - One thing I'm confident on is that that won't be right. Like that won't happen. I really think it'll happen. But that probably, - Probably not. - Balance of probabilities that probably won't happen. - Yeah. - But that's what we think is gonna happen. Bolton, Bradford, Stockport and our guy. Bottom four, the current bottom four, I think we'll go down. Port Vale, Northampton, Rotherham, Exeter. - Yeah, I'd like to say something interesting to differentiate, but I'm not going to.
