‘Lanterns’ Episode 7 Instant Reactions | The Midnight Boys

This episode delves into the emotional and thematic core of Hal Jordan’s legacy, framing his tragic history as a generational curse rooted in suicide and familial neglect. Through a poignant holographic construct of Hal, the narrative allows John Stewart to confront unresolved trauma and build a fragile but meaningful connection with a version of Hal that never fully embraced him. The story emphasizes how both characters are shaped by their parents' failures and their own inability to break cycles of fear and resentment. Key symbolic moments—like the baseball scene and the father-son bond—are used to illustrate how emotional burdens define identity. While the episode transitions to a sci-fi interplanetary setting, it remains grounded in emotional truth, using the alien planet as a metaphor for confronting deeper existential fears. Major unanswered questions arise about Sinestro’s involvement, Anton’s people’s fate, and whether Hal truly killed himself or if a larger conspiracy is at play. The show challenges traditional hero archetypes, suggesting true growth comes not from power, but from emotional honesty and forgiveness. Ultimately, the episode sets a powerful emotional tone for the finale, hinting at a conclusion where John inherits the Green Lantern mantle not by force, but through personal transformation—while leaving room for shocking revelations about Hal’s guilt, hidden motives, and the full scope of the conspiracy.

Got to begin our reactions. The only way to do that is with the Midnight Manifest. The only person that can do that is Chuck Waggon. Chuck, take it away. All right. This is your Lanterns Midnight Manifest for the penultimate episode. Directed by Gita Van Sant Patel. Written by Mundi Lindelof and King. We flash back to 1975 in the origin story of Hal Jordan. Jordan Sr. is a cocky test pilot with little respect for authority or stunting his son's own greatness. Hal's father tells him about the Jordan family curse and leaves his son with a key to a lockbox. In the present, the Halogram is suspicious of John digging his body up and refuses to open the large black box that Real Hal left in storage until the Halogram speaks with Carrie to corroborate John's story. Halogram and John start to bond with the consciousness. Jordan praising Stuart for his ability to maintain constructs without the ring on his finger. The Halogram finally meets Carrie, but after the emotional reunion admits to John that he doesn't trust the sheriff. Hal opens the intergalactic black safe, which features a backpack, gun, and porter to another dimension. The portal takes John and Hal to the planet where Eitan's people died. While on the planet, Hal reveals that he comes from a long line of suicidal men and then saves John from his own fear gas that plagues the planet. And then, da-da-da. The show returns. That has been your Midnight Manifest for the penultimate episode. Where I want to start with you, Van, is how Jordan, to me, has one of the most. more iconic origin stories in the DC canon in terms of his father being a test pilot that crashes. And this episode tweaks it a little bit. How do you feel like they handled Hal's origin story? And does it kind of, to me, this added a layer of depth of why Kyle Chandler is playing this character in this specific bravado way. Yeah, he's trying to fill a hole that's left in his heart. And not just a hole that's left in his heart by his father, but a hole that is generational. That Hal does not seem to be able to escape, right? This entire framework is about the curses that we are given and how oftentimes those curses become comfort. And I thought they did a great job at that. The ball being sort of an analog for the ring and not really feeling like you want to give the thing up that makes you who you are. I'm the starting pitcher. I'm the one that has to finish the game because that's where my worth comes from. And so Hal being stuck on that, even as he's a child, you know it's not going to do anything but metastasize the older he gets. As far as what you're talking about with the tweaking, I have no problem with the changing of these origin stories as long as it serves character, which I think this one does. As a former pitcher, do you feel like the coach deserved to get punched out? Oh my God, yes he did. I mean, no man on. Not really. Not really. Like, if you. He was such a no-hitter. No, he was almost a no-hitter. Almost a no-hitter. That's a very important game. It's a complete game. Yeah, but how close was he? It was a one-out. One-out away. If they come and ask for the baseball, you get a baseball. You got to get a baseball up. But I think that's the. I mean, it's a very simple but effective metaphor of him not wanting to give the ball up. He's literally right there, two outs away, complete game. I think the main thing. That that opening bit serves is that Howell never had a shot. He was always going to end up like that, especially with his grandfather and his father, what they went through. But him being in the office with the coach and his dad, and he explains to his dad what the deal is, his dad goes, how many outs you say there were? One out? Mm-hmm. No man on? And he turns to the coach, you're like, ah, it's cooked. Howell was always going to end up the grouchy, annoying person. He was always going to end up the grouchy, annoying person. That he was going to be because that's how he grew up, and his dad was riding with him the whole way. You know what would have happened to me in that situation? My dad would have yelled at me and the coach. Separate instances or at the same time? My dad would have been like, hey, when the coach say get a ball up, get a ball up. That's the coach, all right? And then he'd have been like, hey, bitch, the fuck? You see my son out there dealing, you going to take the ball out of his hands? He the best you got. But that's not what Howell did. That's not what Howell's father enabled him because he was still chasing his trauma. I thought it was an amazing way to book in the episode. I will say that's not how I thought it would go because usually I was like, oh, are you giving the keys because you want your son to be like, hey, yo, don't let mama get the porn stash. Like, if I'm done, you got to take this out. Things that are passed down from grandfather to son to son. I mean, back then, the magazines were rare. Yeah. Just don't get them dirty. It's not 2026. It's not just on the phone. You know, it's not like that. For the articles. For the articles. So look, we get into the story here. We get back to Rushville, right? And we get Construct Howell. Construct Howell, who is such an interesting narrative device because he's free of a certain degree of the trauma that our Howell has. Yeah. I thought. I thought. I thought this was very interesting. And I thought. I was afraid that this episode would rob John and Howell, personally, of a sort of catharsis between the two of them. Like, I didn't want Howell to die without having reconciled something with John. But then we have this artificial thing that essentially is Howell that is. devoid of some sort of trauma or some sort of, like, burden that made him stop uploading his consciousness to keep him even a little bit more brighter and more optimistic. Because he compliments John. He is able to praise him. He's able to help and work with him more. And as amazingly as Kyle Chandler played this, I don't know. I still kind of feel iffy about knowing that this wasn't actually the real Howell that he was. That would have absolved himself with John in the first place. Well, the real Howell never would have done that. I know. But does that emotional weight carry over knowing that that reconciliation comes from something that isn't real? I mean, I think that choice is phenomenal because I'm like, that is what most death is like. Right. It is very rare that you get to tie your relationship with someone in a tight, neat bow. They usually go, and it's sudden. And I think it just creates so much. There's so much tension in the story where it's like, John knows that this is a construct, but this construct is giving him everything that he wanted from the real Howell. And it's just such a phenomenal thing. Like, I agree with you. There's the emotional thing of like, but I want real Howell back. But that just is a testament to the show that I miss this character so much that even the construct is fucking with me in the same way it's fucking with Carrie and John. I think that there's a couple of things here. One is, is that the construct is supposed to give us the presence of Howell. That's very true. The construct is also supposed to give us a deeper look into Howell. A look into the fact that Howell was, at one point, somebody that John could have been friends with. Howell was, at one point, somebody that would have made a decent mentor for John. Howell was, at one point, somebody who John would have been able to have a relationship with that was a little deeper. And the ring that everybody seems to be so fixated on and the being of a Green Lantern, which everyone seems to be so wrapped up in, that is partly what made Howell into the Howell that we saw. John is litigating what it means to be the Green Lantern, past, present, and future at every moment in this show. Now he has a blueprint to what being the Green Lantern did to someone. How is that going to change the way he does it? How is that going to change the way he looks at it? Right? And seeing somebody that we could have loved, even more so than we already did love the Howell that we had, just reminds us that there's a price to all of this. And I think it kind of deepens our understanding of what this world thinks being a hero is. I mean, I want to move to the conversation with Carrie because it's so interesting when she reveals what Howell actually thought of John. Oh. About, I was like, that was so hard to hear. It was heartbreaking where she's like, oh, it's like rooting for your favorite football team. And the way she- That always loses. Yeah. And you watch it because you're a fan. That was so well-written. It was so well-written, but also during that moment, I started laughing when the Howell girl was like, yeah, I don't trust her. Because I'm like- Yeah, she killed me. Easy. I was like- Do we think that? Here's the thing. His gut's never been wrong before. Yeah, that's valid now. That is now absolutely on the table. Why did- Because there was that moment when you see him, maybe the key that they leave for the storage unit, he wasn't leaving no clue for old girl. Do you think towards the end, Howell was a little bit like, hmm. Maybe Howell found out that the son is a manhunter and she killed Howell to protect him. One thing that somebody brought up that I thought was interesting, it's snowing when they go to the field. But there's not snow on the ground the rest of the time. Yeah. Like, what is that? I have no clue. I'm not from no place with snow. Y'all tell me. You from Chicago. There's snow and then- I don't know if it snows like that in the present. Am I snowing? No, it was snowing. No, no, you're right. But I just think maybe it's like when somebody's sad and raining, it's raining. Right. They were playing a football game like right after. They were doing the hat ceremony and they're going to have a game right after. No, no, no. He's talking about when he finds his dead body. When they find the dead body. Yeah, yeah, yeah. How's Frozen out there? Yeah, it's a little weird. It don't seem like it's that cold. I mean, also, I don't know how it- because they're wearing light jackets. Yeah. Every other time. They're wearing light- they are. They're wearing light jackets. I don't know if it gets like- if it drops 35 degrees at night and it becomes snowy. Yeah. I don't know. You tell me. I'm not from this- I'm not from this tradition. You guys are from- you guys actually know this cold ass shit. I don't fuck with that dumb ass shit. No. Usually, like, the snow- that much snow would snow. No, yeah. That would be- that would be noticeable. Yeah, unless there was- There would be clumps of snow on the fucking sidewalks. Yeah. Everybody would be in parkas. But getting back to the- the hologram wasn't really fucking with Sheriff Carey. Like, he- because the hologram's like, I feel emotions, and I'm like, it don't seem like you do. He seemed very much like, yes, you are. I mean, him and Carey don't have that kind of relationship that, you know, the real Hal and she did. But he did see what- he did see what real Hal saw in her when she does the, you know, romanticism- the romantic text, it's like, ah, I see the vision you know it's not me but i could see why the real how would uh fall in love with you now it's your point though immediately after that he was like she did it she definitely think that he wanted to meet her so badly because he wanted to see who how was in love with or because he wanted to sniff around and see if she had something to do with it 4k no los dos yeah i think he was also distrusting of john a little bit understandably like hmm let me let me see who else was close to me because but if we bring it back to the previous episode it gives credence to the fact that how was like do not let anybody know that we had this meeting who was the person on the board that they shared a lot of screen time with right is carrie so i i have to believe that in life to your point how figured out something and he's like no one besides you can know this so can we go to the uh hat ceremony real quick right so i have two i have a couple of things here all right the floor is yours well number one uh the offensive line all right i thought about i had the same thought i just made up i i'm sorry guys i i wish i should have asked vanessa and justin about this i don't know what the fuck is going on but they in nebraska is there no corn for these corn fed boys like that's the future you know man there's no that could have been the basketball team like that they he brought his offensive line out there i was expecting to see some hogs how is he upright yeah how's he got the speed you know saying he on that line he just he running for his life he's just out as soon as they hide the ball he's gone number one number two we have to check in with some of the schools that we said would be on there from what i could see it was michigan navy and nebraska there was another red hat on there we got to apologize to steve and lauren that looked like florida state you think so i didn't clock for florida state but they didn't show like a logo but they didn't show that hat i think that was sc nah because it was it was like a darker red it's a darker red and it looked like the seminole in there i because i watched i went back like because again i was last week i was like ain't no way you're going to florida state bro i look at that hat i was like hold on i went back like three or four times i did the uh shout out to the prestige tv podcast did my freeze frame it did my pause and i was like you can't really make out that last one you definitely can make out michigan navy nebraska uh but the last one you can't really make out but it looked to me like florida state so what is what is the etiquette of an entire fucking town in school coming to see which hat you're gonna choose they got a big five star no no i'm saying but then the kid being like nah never fucking happened manhunter shit like never happening everybody it's in the middle of the day man people took off work for that shit that's what i'm saying people like came over there never happening and you're not gonna pick a team you're gonna pick it after the game also if we keep it at a man navy but he wants to be a senator i guess that's true but you're not gonna get a chance to throw the ball that's fine are those the only four that would give him full rides i mean it's his top four that he's choosing top four michigan tough man i mean yeah i thought he was supposed to be the man out there if you're the man michigan need a quarterback i mean is he getting paid though they're gonna pay him eight million dollars that's another thing we can talk about when you talk about nil okay i like the hat ceremony i liked it more to the point because the hat ceremony gave us the cover for the meeting between carrie and the manhunter yes which was very very emotional so well played but then you come back out and he's fucking up going crazy and all that shit like that like i i enjoyed this episode before we even got intergalactic planetary okay because once we got there we fully were in our sci-fi superhero bag and i was fucking with it all the way yeah loved it i thought the i mean i don't want to get too ahead like what i'm saying but i thought the i mean i don't want to get too ahead like what i'm saying but where we end the episode whatever you do everyone want but fucking wrong with you why are you like this you can't do whatever you want you don't have to say you don't want to get you want to go to the end of the episode go to the end of the episode i don't want to go to the end of the episode we come back can i podcast please you can go ahead and pause i was just giving you freedom you mentioned this like the relationship between john and al like the uh uh hologram but he still he still how yes because at the beginning episode they're doing the whole oh man you wasn't my funeral man yeah everybody was like that shit was hilarious mogo yeah i was right here that was so funny that was so great john is such a bad liar absolutely me and mogo are right here mogo and i like when that mogo and i let you know like mogo's a planet like there's still that like highland john like push and pull but you can like see them like actually work together and they're like they're like they're like they're like they're together not like like not in like complete symbiosis but as close as they can get yeah because even through all the rush rule stuff there was always like as much as how and how john wanted to trust how in whichever way it was just so much friction that it could never like really look like they were a team like they're really like in simpatico but when they like decide like all right we're gonna you can use your voice we're gonna go into this world and he like actually gives him advice about how to use the ring yeah i'm like if i was if i was john man i would i'd be sick to my stomach it's like bro we could have had this it could have been like but i'm also not going to a planet with a five percent charge because it's not even at five percent at that point yeah but you don't have a battery you don't have a battery you know it's not as you do come on but that's you know what you're doing showing fear bitch why do you he has he hasn't he hasn't asked me if i'm afraid yeah ask me if i'm afraid why do you think he did that interesting question i think i have a couple of questions in the episode one i think we've already kind of talked about whether or not carrie is actually so hurt because in fact she killed hal and she has guilt and trauma maybe maybe that emotion that we're reading as as an audience as sadness is actually guilt i have that here and i have another one right there why did he say ask me if i'm afraid i think it's probably to prove to i mean the immediate thought was to prove to like halogram that he's up to it and that he didn't oh you think he was you think he was just shining yeah i think it's probably to prove to i mean the immediate thought was to prove to just talking to shit or psych himself up yeah well you gotta oh you know what that's actually not a bad thing i did when i tell you i was so confused at that point i don't have a good like i was just like what is he doing you got to think about it though but the first thing we see in this entire series is the dad with the gun and he's like are you afraid no are you afraid no in order to get him he's going to another planet and he's never been before like in order to like lock himself in i feel like it's just a like response am i afraid hell nah let's go boom yeah but also i there's a little nitpicky you got the ring on your finger bro how afraid can you be it's like a walk your space suit bro it's also true uh five percent charge but you also don't know where you're going and shit like that yeah you know i'm saying you ain't never you've never been to space before you had the condom ready and still been a little nervous you know just because you got the protection don't mean that like you know i feel like that comes after no it's like day after nah you're nervous the day after who the fuck are you fucking like steve is like steve do it and go straight to the clinic so we are with hal and construct hal and um john and we started boarding this planet which is apparently the planet where anton's group of people anton's alien species were genocided i guess to say um and it is the one gigantic graveyard we haven't been off world in this entire show and the green lantern is an intergalactic hero how did it feel to finally be off world i mean it was cool in the sense of like they finally get to see specifically the ring on a different planet now like you know i don't want to get into like you know budget conversations but it was just them two doing their thing by themselves hey you know what can you do but ultimately like to your point this is an interplanetary galactic force to see them be interplanetary and galactic was cool i i on the same token though it felt like we were kind of getting away from the more grounded mystery of who killed hal and obviously this is like these are the breadcrumbs that get us here but i don't know why like getting off planet and bringing in the plight of the man hunters from this again we've been talking about it i just wanted to read it a bit more on john's face to see like oh my god this goes big like this is really bigger than me and this small planet and all of this stuff like i like he just seemed a tad divorced from it all obviously he understands it we know that he understands it um i just felt like it was just slightly not as tantalizing like it was just not as tangible this episode what do you mean like like the the idea that we've been and we've been dealing with the inner communities of like the community of this town and the plight of all these people inside of it and then we're immediately on another planet because all these things are much bigger than them and i think i see it with the way that hal describes it and has described it this entire show but now that we're actually there and like he's doing green lantern stuff john is actually like in another place i don't know it like it felt like it should have been a bit more ceremony with this it would well i think they were trying to how do i put this the dcu that we've seen in superman is so colorful and obviously james gunn has done guardians of the galaxy and it seemed like this show was trying to have its cake and eat its two where it's presenting us with space but there's no aliens and it's just two characters alone and it in a very lindelof way when they're in the boat and the apples start to fall and they're like oh my god i'm so excited to be here and i'm like oh my god i'm so excited to be here and i'm like oh my god i'm so excited to be here and i'm like i'm so excited to be here and i'm like oh my god i'm so excited to be here and i'm start raining i was just like what's going on yeah right that's awesome and trippy that i love that i love like a little like uh trial of the soul type of like journey john actually think that gun was going to do i like i was like bro what's a handgun gonna do you never know i mean it's better than having no ring right yeah he's fucking head off that's true so i guess for me it's consistent with john's character that he would not be overwhelmed like he i see what you're saying like he sees the skeleton he doesn't go or anything like that it it it seems very procedural for him he's not afraid of anything he's not afraid of being on this new planet he is mission critical at all times right he is trying to he is trying to figure out what it is that they have to do and being as efficient as possible uh i do though see how it could be read as maybe we're on another planet because normally when we're like going on another planet like even in avengers and in-game when uh rocket asks it was been to space yeah people raise their hands but even like at the end of the movie where or end of the movie the third act of the movie where it's black widow and hawkeye and they're on their way to go get the soul stone they go ah like we're going to another yeah yeah and he doesn't do that but i think it's kind of consistent with his character right it does i i think it's kind of consistent with his character right it does i i think it's it's more so like in the in this episode and in the prior episode knowing that we've had a 10-year time jump from like the bombing of rushville to uh john has been divorced from being green lantern i see the way that aaron pierre characterizes john he's like a tad more relaxed because he is he has been away from rushville for so long like he jokes he's a bit more like relaxed not so much as fearless but like you can see that he's a bit more relaxed but like you can see that he's a bit more relaxed not so much as fearless but like you can see the like the passage of time in how he portrays john and to immediately be being thrown back into this and then just be on a new planet like it was just a tad divorced from like the immediacy of the situation but again i love this episode this is like awesome everything that happened in it great but like i think just like the transition from earth to anywhere else like that that feels like a big deal but also now that i'm thinking about it i'm thinking about what john asked like asked me if i'm afraid i realized this this might be john's first time off world yeah which is the same it definitely is so it's like to him this has been a 10-year journey and the aliens have always come to him and this is the first time where it's like not only do i have the ring on my finger but like i do think it's like sad and poetic in a way that the first time he gets to go off world everything is dead everything is a genocide it's empty and the thing that is like that he's almost on this crucible if he's getting on a boat to fight his fear on a planet far far away i was like oh that speaks to how fraught this journey has been oh yeah for him first time alien planet no no old ladies to go have sex with it's tough it's tough he had to see a far guy tough so we get to the trial that he has i thought this scene was actually i'm surprised that you fucking hated it and you said that it sucked yeah okay the scene with the apples and the young boy and jay alphonse and that you didn't like it it's anti-black but that's okay it's how wait well how is it anti-black it's it's it's it's you know three black men on the screen together and for some reason you didn't like it you didn't like it you're like where's racist where's how little race i chuckled a little bit i was like oh we doing capital a after here okay okay all right you know before i get to that before we get to that i do want to talk about just the overall dynamic between um how how construct how c and john because whenever he needs to get him to go away he sings spody dopey yeah malicious spody only dope malicious um from equipment i one of the most phenomenal fucking records that's ever been made before in my life first of all we've all heard this record right yes yes okay so how do you guys feel about aaron pierre's rendition oh spody only so if we if we want to be real this is why the uk grime niggas sometimes you just can't be listening to them they the way they be pronouncing every word is it the ari spears it was it was tough because for a while i was like what song is like this shit does it took a second to get me to the point where i was like oh my god i'm gonna be like a nigga where you want to go and but that's part of like this is nigga where you want to go but that's the thing though like specifically with those accents they gotta enunciate every word right you know and so they don't like again like it was tough is this is that his speak up moment no it's just it's just that like he's aaron man you killing it brother don't let nobody tell you opposite he killing it however it does feel like you got this like you was reading off genius but like actually right just actually he's at air pierre is actually an outcast fan because i was like how many times have you rapped this before yeah is this like new well this and being the fact that he was a kid like is that the only outcast album that he knows what no i'm sure he knows music he's talking about like those are two different albums atleas is oh yeah but i get what you mean like actually like aaron pierre was listening to yeah like we don't know aaron pierre might have been listening to dizzy rascal might be listening to skepta central c i like this music y'all talking about i fuck with this music but i do like that as that he is so uh resolute that he has to sing something to break his own concentration conscious concentration to keep the construct going he has to go somewhere else with it and he actually intuitively figures out that that's what he has to do okay that's interesting i also thought that i i thought it was that and i also thought it was like annoying uh halogram so much to where he just wanted to disappear no i don't think that's because again like the rules are a bit shitty i didn't thought like i thought i thought it was just halogram voluntarily disappearing and going back into the ring because he hates outcasts or because it's like okay i'm not going to go anywhere he's not going to talk to me hating outcasts it would make like that's nah you the the how racist shit would have to be put to bed because if a white man hates outcasts i'm like really you got that much hate in your heart you'll be like dancing to hey y'all that's nasty work nah i think legit i mean there's the scene criminalized the greatest hip-hop album ever made all right oh okay okay like like just in general not like duos just like rap album of all of any rap album number one of any rap album ever made to me a criminalized the greatest rap album ever made i'm not mad at it i like atl is better actually oh i'm not he's better a criminal is a better record i like atl like i like i'm there i think i'm there like stanconia better stanconia stanconia falls off a cliff i like stanconia but i like stanconia better than like you like stanconia better than atl was just a period in my life it was just a period in my life man you were there i wasn't there it's it's tough it's just a period in my life but i think that equipment i is the greatest album it's a perfect album i'm not mad at it yeah perfect album i don't know about that i'm so glad that we get to revisit it and so so many people are not going to know what the fuck ampere is talking about they're younger this is i mean part of that is like i grew up with a lot of music people and then at some point i was it was bomani jones who was like yo man i'm not mad at it i'm not mad at it bombs over baghdad is like the greatest songs ever like on record i was like well i gotta i gotta lock in let me not let me not you know lose my black card over this and then you go through like because everybody's listening to like outcasts have been around forever hey y'all you know all this stuff so you like you you know you know a little bit you know you know what i'm saying then you go through the whole thing you're like ah man i wish i was outside for this man i wasn't i wasn't there so but i i do want to ask a steve you should be you should have asked vanessa and justin this nigga from the midwest he bumping that outcast like you not gonna bump twister you know you know from detroit right comment detroit no detroit then all kinds of great boys to find out royce shout out my man roy's uh d12 dilla right Dilla, so much. Detroit, one of the most underrated hip hop. I don't think it's really that underrated. Detroit is very rated. Is it properly rated? It is properly rated. Detroit got great rap. Okay. All right, Chuck is silent. All right, if Big Sean is your top five, we got to have a conversation. I like Big Sean. Okay, but who's the number one Detroit rapper? We all know. Who? Oh, Eminem. So what? What the fuck? The nigga can rap. All right. Nobody said that. Nobody said otherwise. I think, I'll be honest with you. So Eminem has, Eminem has obviously the accolades. I think bar for bar, Royce raps better than Eminem. That is not, to me, that's not a hot take. Yeah, I don't think it's a hot take at all. But like bar for bar, I think Royce, I think Royce raps better than him. But Eminem is just a better, like he's obviously got the better music. He's a better songwriter. He like, he can put the package together. He's got like the songs that are very like conceptual and all of that stuff. All right. Also, I'm sorry. Like at one point, Big Sean did have it. My bad. Big Sean can rap. When? I don't know what y'all niggas are on. When specifically? When specifically did Big Sean have it? The Detroit mixtape he had was, I was like, all right, you putting it together, bro. Bro, I like Big Sean. I don't know when this Big Sean shit happened to where people act like Big Sean can rap. Dog, I was going up to Big Sean, but then we was like, damn, some of these bars not aging well. Bro, I like, like, bro, I like, uh, get you some, I like early Big Sean. Dog, when the lemon. When he rapped over the lemonade beat, I was like, dog, he's crazy. Big Sean can go. I don't know. The early, no, the early Big Sean was the thing. We was like, okay, we can see. And then, you know, sometimes, you know, but no, but back to Hal and John, specifically to your point about, um, the ring and like, um, like turning, turning himself off. The fact that when he, he takes the ring off, right. But in the car and Hal's like, I'm still here. Yeah. How are you doing this? And almost immediately. He goes, that was sick, man. How are you doing that? And John like, I don't know how to feel, man. You've never, you don't like, you don't do this. But this is a, this is an important part of John's development and evolution. Absolutely. Is that someone that is not in competition with him is actually giving him positive feedback. Cause remember his parents, their feedback. Yeah. Was just in service of something. It was like, Hey, you did a great job, son. And blah, blah, blah. It was like, you will be the black green lantern. I really, you, you, you will make this family proud. Is that what they said? That's not, that's, that's, that's not, but here's the thing. This is why I don't respect it. I was like, all right, John, you was talking shit. The whole episode. You was like, you didn't see, you taught me jack shit. Ba, ba, ba, ba, ba. I'm like, nigga, I saw you smile. I'm like, I saw you smile. Well, this man gave you a compliment. What is it? Cause he, I mean, you still want it. You know what I mean? You still want it. You still respect. Remember he said earlier, I do respect him because he's, he's, he's fearless. Like he's a fearless guy. I do respect him. That's actually a good point though. Like, and that's the tragedy of all of it because he talks about, I mean, both him and Hal talk about how much they hate each other, how much they're, they're so annoyed, whatever. But when Carrie's talking to John about how he thought about, or talking to Hal about how he thought about John and how John responds to when Hal gets a compliment, they want to be friends, bro. They want to be in concert. They respect each other. There's an affinity there. But there's just like Hal's BS and John's BS just gets in the way. It doesn't let them really connect. It kept me thinking, cause I know that like using the hologram was John's idea at the end of the previous episode, but it makes me think that like, like Hal is like, original Hal is like, I know that. Like this old version of me is the Hal that John needs and I'm going to give that to him. Like, that makes me like, I don't know why, but like, that makes me feel like it's cause it's from beyond the grave. And we know that like, I like the, like the idea that this ghost version of Hal is working with John in a way that John always wanted, but past John could never give him. So you think Hal did this on purpose? Not like, I know that we can't do that because he literally dug him up. And gave him that. But like, it feels poetic to know that like, he's, they're working together in this way. Well, not on purpose, but like to, to his point, he needed a voice activation to get into the security thing. Yeah. He was always going to have to get the ring to do it. Well, the question is to Steve's point, I'm fucking around, but the question is why wouldn't Hal, when he was living, make a new version of himself perhaps or back himself up? Well, he couldn't because he got the ring, got taken away once, once John took the ring away. That was the last time he showed up. But I also think now that we're talking about it. Hold on for a second though. If, if that's the case, then why is the construct Hal even a more humble version of the Hal that we met in 2016? What do you mean? So the, the, the Hal that we met in 2016, it's not as if Hal's corrosive behavior happened in the 10 years from 2016 to 2026. Right. It was already like that. Right. So he had to. He had to have waited some time to have backed up his construct even before then. Oh yeah. No, but they said in the first episode that like he had basically hadn't been reporting anything back to OWA. So I'm thinking potentially he did not really update the. I think he said it was 10 years. It's been 10 years. When it was in 2006, it's like, it's been 10 years since. Right. So that's, that is my point. It is also possible that that version of Hal for some reason likes being around that version of his construct. I think the math, I think, well, the math on that is a, for whatever reason, he stopped trusting the folks at OWA. Right. Which makes a lot of sense. And so when you back up your ring, I'm sure it goes to them and they like read the logs and stuff. And he's like, I'm not doing that no more. Well, wouldn't they know that you're not backing up the ring? Exactly. But it's how Jordan. What are they going to do? They can't tell him. Right. He killed Sinestro. So they're kind of, I feel like it's a like. They got some leeway. That's, that's. Not killed, but captured. No, yeah. Catched Sinestro. But I think that also was part of it. Right. The Sinestro killing the, uh, the guardian thing. That's your mentor. Like it be, it be creates, uh, like a different version of Hal. Right. And so that's probably pre the Sinestro stuff. And then afterwards you get this Hal who like, again, of all, if anybody in this show, aside from Carrie, he's probably closest to Sinestro. So Sinestro betrays the guardian, betrays the guardians, betrays the core, goes and kills a guardian. At that point, he's like, all right, bro, I can't trust nobody. I can't do it no more. Uh, I don't need anybody. I'm just. I'm just by myself. That's it. And we get this version of Hal that we meet in 2016 post the Sinestro stuff. All right. So let's go to the boat then. We're on the boat now. We, we, we had gone to the boat before we had to fill in some stuff and we get basically a trial of fear for Jon Stewart. Okay. Uh, our construct leaves after we seen outcast again, see outcast like we're from just left the pitch. We from Birmingham. From Birmingham. Well, we, we, we sing. We sing outcast again, and then we get a trial, which starts off with Jon Stewart, senior. Then we see him as a kid, little home apples fall everywhere. Shoot the apples fall first. Actually, uh, shoot yourself, shoot the apple. We know that the, the fog is trying to get Jon to take his own life. How'd that same work for everyone? Well, I think it's like the final key to me, to understanding the dynamic between how the child and Jon, where I'm like, oh, both of your parents haunt you in different ways and how it comes up when how finally reveals that the generational Jordan curse is suicide. Yeah. And then almost Jon killing himself. I was like, oh, the reason that these two can't connect is because that, that first origin story, that Batman thing comes back to their parents. And it's like, I was like, oh, that is fascinating that like for these two people to finally come together, they have to put that version of themselves behind them. And it was very, it was very touching that Hal is the one that like pulls Jon back out, even though it isn't our Hal. I was like, yeah, and that's why I loved it. And was also conflicted because I'm like, that is beautiful. And it is beautiful because it's a past Hal that can't come back. It's a past Hal that can do that rather than the present Hal that could never, because he would never pull him out of that. But if we're being honest, if we're being honest, Hal did have love for Jon. No, he did. No, no, no. He saved his life in episode five. No, of course he did. He absolutely did. I think, I mean, the scene, like the fear scene was really, was really incredible. I think the scene, like what happens like right before is like means, I don't want to say means the world, but like is really important in regards to their relationship. And so, uh, was Martin, uh, tells, tells how my dad gave me a lockbox key to a lockbox when he was going off. Right. I'm giving you a key, right? That's grandfather, father, son, how left the key for John. Right. And as much as we don't want to admit how much is like, that's, that's his son. That's his guy. Right. He left that key. It is crazy. He's a dickhead. Nobody said he wasn't a dickhead. but as much as annoying as much as they fought as much as everything as much of a son as he ever had as much of a son as he ever had and that's like I mean it's just like it's incredible writing it's incredible storytelling look around like dang like he he really did as flawed as he was as terrible as he was he's John is as close to his son as Hulk ever got and that's and they couldn't bring it together that's just it's sad to think about John got the opportunity to air his grievances to air his grievances in a way that he probably never could have with Hal in that way in a more emotional way than like what their fight was their fight was brutal their fight was high energy it was them trying to hurt each other but when he was telling them about how he treated him I don't know if that was actually on the boat or was it before it was like separate incidents motherfucker like when oh oh yeah that was I think that was the boat yeah was that on the boat or were they in the car okay so anyway so he basically to his father to Jeremy says it's crazy it's like now we went from fucking the show being True Detective to now it's fucking Different Strokes but like he tells him about how poorly he was treated and it seems like that is them emotionally sharing with each other what do you guys feel like the purpose of the shares the share from Hal the share from John about how he's felt left out left out and almost left out let down and almost assailed by Hal and then Hal sharing his family lineage what were they doing with each other and what were we as the audience supposed to get I think it was in a full circle moment Hal was telling John to let the baseball go you know what I mean like even if it was the hologram I think that was a moment where for John to become the green lantern that Hal never could he needs to let go of all of that resentment and what his parents didn't give him what Hal didn't give him and just finally be like I'm okay like that is actually it's the genius thing about writing where the fear gas is not the real thing that John needs to overcome John overcoming his fear is like you've been bringing it up all season who is this man when he's not following orders who is he when he is not searching for just affirmations from the military or from his parents or from architecture school and it's like I think it's very funny that like hey yo generational trauma where does he end up this episode with the granddaddy of fear Sinestro yeah like cause I was also thinking I was like that's interesting as well how did Sinestro break out yeah of prison how did Hal get in contact with him why do they have a rendezvous point together that's a that's a little suspicious interesting just saying like what are the odds he'd be there you know Hal got a lot of questions he gotta answer in the finale cause what do you mean suspicious in what way think about it why was he why was Sinestro there right how did Hal have a portal right to where he would be Einstein Rosenbridge portal they love that term by the way Thor yeah why did he have a portal to the same place where Sinestro was hiding out Guy Garter don't know about it I don't they're going to a special place where it can just be the two of them that's cool man that's good good for them yeah I'm not saying I'm just saying you know I mean what do you need the protein bars and the poncho for and the gun it's gonna shoot Sinestro we lost it immediately but I'm saying but I'm taking the bag protein bar poncho gun right what was the what's the search what does he need Sinestro's help for yeah it seems as if he's enlisting Sinestro's help there's something there that he's trying to find out why Sinestro what does he need Sinestro's help for well so a character that we have not seen in a very very long time is the Guardian I think our friend Jason Concepcion has brought it up that we have not seen Bernadette or John Stewart Sr. we hear them but we do not see them so I'm a little bit like okay where's the Guardian in all this because yes Sinestro killed a Guardian but what I'm thinking is what we know of the Manhunters is is that they have a heart structure that proves that they're Manhunters so was Sinestro trying to kill one of the Guardians to prove that a Manhunter was in their rank hmm you know what I mean right and is this a Guardian slash Manhunter infiltration scheme or conspiracy how deep does the rabbit hole go this goes all the way to the top so I mean what I'm saying is here's the deal if it is any of this or all of this they got one episode to square it lot to do lot to do in one episode if we go any deeper than finding out who killed Hal Jordan then it seems as if they're opening up rabbit holes that would have to be so what are the what are the mysteries that are still on the table who killed Hal who killed Hal where's the kid going to college where's the kid going to college who is there's another Manhunter on the board who is the Manhunter why is Sinestro there what were Hal and Sinestro doing yeah so that's like four or five Sinestro those are four or five big mysteries they gotta land in one episode right and also is is one of the mysteries what actually happened to Anton's people what can we believe that we've been told I know John saw it but is even is what John saw even the way that actually happened that's unfortunate I think that's going to be the one tell not show that this show does because that's John explains this because he got it downloaded into his brain because this is one big CGI death scene that we might not be able to shoot right with a bunch of aliens but he's like I understand what this is I understand where we are and how terrible all of this is he saw it but that doesn't mean he knows why it happened right exactly I think a big question we're not like totally not answering is does John take the ring does John I mean I guess so but like to your point he has to like like he has to shed all his conditioning and do it for himself what makes John and that mama go it's my turn I gotta do this so it's so nuts because I know again knowing that John is going to be Green Lantern at the end of all of this like that's so maybe it'd be kind of weird if he wasn't though because what are you going to show the man tomorrow just be the Green Lantern yeah is he going to walk away from the ring again just be John Stewart but like it's like you gotta you gotta be cool with the Guardians letting you be Green Lantern seemingly and but here's he already got their permission assuming that's not a man if John snitches if John brings back Sinestro then that's a wrap or if he unveils like because here's what I keep thinking Hal goes back to Rushville and spends the remaining part of his life apologizing but he is also hiding something from Carrie that he's in a relationship do you think by the end of this we will find out that Hal actually isn't that guilty that like this seems like there's a great there's a great conspiracy here and there was something that kept do you really think Hal went back there just to get back with Carrie and say sorry no of course not there is something big he had something more to do yeah he was stupid I don't think I don't think Hal I think Hal went back there because he is just like not to clear his name but to be like yo not only is there still a Manhunter out here the way all of this went down is fucking bogus right and I know it and I think that might be a part of John's journey as well realizing that Hal even though he felt fear even though he had got to this point maybe some other things were putting him on the trajectory do we also feel like is Hal dead dead is it like I think Hal's gone I think Hal's dead dead Hal's gone do you think John is going to keep him around as a hologram though I think for sure well I hope so no okay in my harebrained idea is like the the hologram's gonna go out the ring's gonna die but John's gonna keep that construct going until it's time to let go and it's gonna be like this emotional like I can't let you go blah blah blah and then Hal's like nah you gotta kind of thing I'll see you on the next side see you on the next side here's what happens man this the DC we're new on Batman Exist man go put him in the Lazarus pit what's wrong with y'all man all I'm trying to compete bring him back as a specter now last final episode what are we more likely to see do we see Sinestro make a yellow ring or do we see any colored rings I think okay so that colored rings is nuts the rings have colors rings of color it's rings of color rings of color not rings of power separate but equal rings it's not colored rings I mean kinda they are the rings are kinda colored the rings are both bruh I gotta be honest with you the rings are both colored and separate but equal I don't know man some of the rings like those blue lanterns really don't have it like that the blue lantern's not really it's not really like that blue lanterns don't have it what's their thing again like peace it's hope hope But, like, really all they can do is be invulnerable and fly. Yeah. Unless there's a Green Lantern with them. Then they can do all the crazy stuff. That's whack. You're not really trying to do that. Now, for the most part, the Indigo one is crazy because those are, like, only the killers get those. Like, the worst of the worst get those. And they're supposed to, like, experience compassion for the first time. But you don't remember. Once you take the ring off, you don't really remember. At the end of the day, the Green Lantern is probably the best one. I hate the colored lanterns. I hate them. That's a bad take. Dog, you sound— Again, lanterns are of color. You can't say it like that, bro. Why? Bro, you sound like Jerry Jones watching kids going to high school in 1961 or wherever the fuck it was. Ruby Bridges coming to the bar. Yeah, I hate the colored lanterns. No, man, no, I'm not looking at that. That sounds crazy. That sounds crazy. I'm like, fuck Jon Stewart. Fuck Simon. We got Justin Cruz. That's not cool. Drinking Drinker and Neurotic are saying that about Jon Stewart. Hey! Yo, man. Hey! I don't like, bro. Dog. I don't like the colored lanterns. You don't like the color spectrum? It's cool, man. It's cool. It's cool, man. Power Rangers-ass shit. Yeah. That's fine by me. What's wrong with Power Rangers? What's wrong with that? You got to think about it. If Will and Green can be a construct, and this Jeff Johns genius, because, like— So we make the rainbow? You got to think—but think about it, like, legitimately. It's kind of like the baseball metaphor in this episode, where it's simple, but, like, extremely effective in the thought process. Yeah, he's going to hold on to the ring as much as he can. He's going to hold on to the baseball as tight as he can. It's his will. Right? You have Green, Lantern, the color spectrum of Green, of willpower manifests as Green. Oh, then, like, Fear, Yellow. Oh, cool. And then you can just do Anger, Red, Death, Black, Life, White. Or, what's it called? Whatever the star sapphire's color is. Love. Love. Like, Violet. Obviously. Mickey Mouse shit. Maybe. Back in my day. Maybe. These are comic books for children. Maybe. This is all nonsense. Maybe, but it makes the world more interesting. So you don't feel like we get it, because, man, you be the first one to, like, all right, now we got to have Arya color a Spider-Man. Now we got to have all these fucking lanterns. Now there's got to be 5,000 Supermen. You know what? Sometimes— You know I don't like it. So there's no need to even ask. I mean, maybe. It's like, it could be fun sometimes, like when you take a lantern that was a green lantern and then make them a new color lantern and they got different fucking shit, but it was never my favorite thing. But it's a lore— I like it because the green lanterns, when it was just one color, maybe you put yellow in there for Sinestro, right? Come on, we get a little Sinestro. A little Sinestro. But when it was just one color or even the two colors, it was special. And now when you have a bunch of different lanterns out there, all the different colors of the rainbow, I'm not fucking with it. Participation trophy. It would be interesting to see, like, where— I mean, we talked about it with Vanessa and Justin, but obviously there's a future for lanterns with Aaron Pierre and Guy Garner in this universe. But at the end of Green Lantern 2011, we see Mark Strong take the yellow ring and do it. We've actually never in live action seen another color lantern, right? And Sinestro's already gone in this one. Right. So if you were going to do, like, a lantern in season two or even, like, a lantern movie, do you do parallax? Do you do atrocities? Do you do specter? Do you do the black—the black lanterns? Like, I guess you see where they go. They'll have much more money when they come back because I think the show has been such a success, both critically and with the audience, that you'll probably see something that's a little bit more expansive. It just depends on how—what they want to do. If they want to keep the show grounded in this way, then it's more story. Do you want—I don't know if I want to—like, now because they did it so well on Earth, the space version, if it's a movie, I could see it. In TV, give us another mystery. Maybe give us a little—because you could bring Kyle Chandler back if you want to show us, because we really have not seen much of Hal Jordan as the Green Lantern. Can I ask you guys a question real quick? On this planet where they're at and Sinestro's at, will there be a lantern on the planet to recharge the ring? I imagine so. I think so. I think that this is where we see, to y'all's point, the— Forging of a yellow ring. Because I see—you see that, like, yellow pit that's in the middle of that, that, like, overhead— Forging of a yellow ring for a steward to use? For Sinestro. Oh, for Sinestro. I mean, it would make sense with the gas. Possibly to tempt Jon, because he's like, if you embrace your fear, this is what power can give you. And stuff like that. And maybe it's a choice between green and yellow. Will Jon need the lantern? Because if he's so powerful already that he can make constructs with it, without the ring. Well, the ring needs to charge, though. You can't, like— But there's— With Kyle Rayner in the comics, he becomes Ion. He becomes his own living battery. It's been done. We only got a couple out. Only got, like, an hour left. If now we talk about Jon becoming a battery for the lantern. Sinestro getting the—we Galaxy Brain. Yeah! Sinestro, yellow ring. Well, we gotta—we have to see Jon fly. Oh, Jon do gotta fly. Yeah, he's gotta fly. He's gotta fly. So he has to charge the ring. Um, I mean, it could—Sinestro could make a yellow ring. Like, think, like, that's not, like, all the way crazy. But he does have to get a lantern. He does have to say the oath. Yes. And he has to fly. Now, the question is— Does he get his own suit? I think he manifested as a construct. Does he get his— Does he get his own suit, A, and B, why would he— If he just takes the oath and gets the ring, cool. But we would love to see Jon do some lantern. Mm. What would Jon have to do? He would have to lantern against. Like, that's another thing to think about. If he does, indeed, take the ring. He'd just take the ring and like, cool, all right, peace, I'm done, that's that. He better not be making a bunch of birds. Like, think of some other shit, nigga. Get you a nice, like— Like a Gatling gun for his ass to watch. You know? All right, you guys, we have to do it. We have to do this before we go. Manhunter Rankings? Well, before we get to Manhunter Rankings, which we also have to do, we have to do predictions for the finale. Mm-hmm. All right. Finale predictions. Jon flies. Jon flies. Jon flies. I mean, he takes the ring, sets it off, flies. Becomes Green Lantern. I do like what—I think, Joby, you said this, or it might have been Steve. He gonna have to say goodbye to Hal. Well, he's gonna have to get the hologram. He's gotta let go of the hologram. Manhunter, obviously. Manhunter, I think we see a yellow ring. I think we see a yellow ring as well. Okay. Okay. Okay. I think we find out that Carrie killed Hal. I think we find out that Carrie killed Hal as well. Carrie. But, like, in the sense of, again, the Jordan family trauma is suicide, right? And so, like, he was—I think he let himself die. I think they found out that Noah was the Manhunter, and Carrie was like, listen, man, like, I can't really let that slide. And Jon's like, you know what? You're right. I'm gonna do whatever I can to do it. But you gonna stop me. You're gonna have to stop me. If you feel like you gotta do this, then do it. Now that you're saying this, because the hologram does look at Carrie like, he told you about my dad. Mm-hmm. And then when they went to the coroner, she was like, could be a suicide, like, putting it to the head. Mm-hmm. I'm like, oh, does Carrie—was Carrie like, nobody—the coroner's not gonna really care? Carrie also, the first thing she says to Jon is, you, uh, you suspect that I did this. Yes. Jon says no. Maybe he's lying, or maybe Jon has to learn how to trust his gut, like Hal. Hal's gut is undefeated. Jon is still always in the front of his brain, not really trusting his instinct as much as Hal does. Because also, it would make sense, because what the Manhunter— the Manhunter already did this before, and obviously Carrie learned from the Manhunter, where it's like, think about what happened to Abin Sur. Yeah. The only person— The only person who knew about it. Got to go. Hal going out like Abin, like, damn, you the last motherfucker. Because that's what Hal—like, we've already talked about it. Hal figured it out. Hal figured out that the son, because they also say that in this episode, that the son is like, uh, she hid it from me, even though I knew, and I never really came over here. So Carrie was keeping Hal— Away from her son. Away from her son. Yeah. Yeah, she did. She did it. She did it. She did it. To save the Manhunter. Okay, so let's do Manhunter rankings. Number one. Noah. Noah. Noah. Number two. Guardian. Guardian might be— So I've actually come around on this, because I'm like, a Guardian can't be a Manhunter. The math, like, we got to, like— and let me see, I said it too. We got to keep something straight. But if a Guardian or Manhunter became like a real-life, like, full-blooded Guardian, right, and was posing with them like, yeah, man, we boys, they would have access to be, like, maneuvering the rings as they see fit. Yeah, and, like, maybe not necessarily Laura Linney, but one in their ranks. Maybe. Well, it'd have to be Laura Linney, because if it was somebody else, I'd be like, if they dropped another one. But, like, there's the real Laura Linney and then Manhunter Laura Linney. Maybe. So we've seen both. Switching around, possibly. But then, now I'm like, maybe I'm overthinking it. Maybe I'm overthinking it, yeah. But because, like, they say they use sex as a thing. Yeah, yeah. Laura Linney ain't never propositioned nobody in this episode. Well, you're at the top of the food chain at that point. I guess that's true, but I mean, that's Jon's fault. who knows what the manhunter did to the guardians that's true not man maybe but i i mean i guess at this point we would have to put the the guardian we also have to i feel like we're forgetting too if we go back to predictions john did accept the devil's bargain to get his skin back and to like kind of get back into fighting shape and they dropped this shit into his eye what do we think that shit the cost coming from inside the house maybe he's manhunter i don't think he's a manhunter but he's he's uh either carry or no we're gonna do something to try to stop john like we gave you that skin we could take it away wait whoa god oh my god whoa jesus boy if they let her get that shit off we gave you that skin we can take it away if that ain't the most american shit that's crazy you gotta do the math though i can't believe we're just not bringing this up the guy uh noah's like yo no uh hat ceremony we're gonna play the game game means a lot fellas we started uh this season with them going to a game a game getting interrupted by violence or shooting whatever might be in the finale too man no one might be dropping back deep john black a player um we have to take you i gotta take you to prison man my fault you're a manhunter it's not putting the gun down you hate to see a football game shot up it did happen every once in a while yeah it happens sometimes your football games got shut up what'd you say yeah i mean not necessarily i've been to them i don't think there was too many at panther stadium that did but you'd be with a shooting around i'll be real i don't know how much how much it happened when y'all was growing up but in baton rouge you go place and motherfuckers start shooting they shoot they shoot things things get shot i mean like a party shot football game shot you go someplace pop pop pop they shoot i've been a couple times but like no i live in philly it was like when i was going to carson i lived across the street from a park like it would happen every every so every like like twice a year three times a year you just be like you know everything would shout out to how i learned and shout out to rachel lindsey the biggest difference between me and rachel was illustrated when rachel said on higher learning that they would go to the prairie view classic game prairie playing against somebody and they stopped going her father stopped taking her the amazing judge lindsey stopped taking her because they would be shooting at the games and i remember i was like and she was like a nigga they shoot sometimes i don't mean i want this like like they're not we're not gonna stop going that's letting them win sometimes they shoot like you know you know what i'm saying it's like it's and it obviously has got worse over time to where it's but like it would be like bum bum bum sometimes it would be we shouldn't accept that though we shouldn't accept it don't be better okay so third manhunter rankings i feel like we're just down to two really and we even talk about this the little girl scamming a boy for money man oh my god how how quickly could you get 300 grand well he's a man like he tony stark yeah yeah like it's not even like you could if you would have put that in the universe but like tony stark explaining his watches it would be the same yeah yeah it's it's hilarious but no are you trying to say that these didn't have enough food to eat for the last 10 years they didn't rebuild everybody eating at the cafe all the time and then he picks the navy he can't go to the navy man he can't he can't be a midshipman bro they don't they don't unless unless they run a new office over there it's because he wants to be a senator that's why that's why so maxwell hiller who is a five star right now yeah from coatsville pa 65305 wait but they're not there's no handsome money for those boys though right for the office lineman over there they just stand for the love of the game because he is a kind person who wants to uh you know incorporate his community and involve them in this big moment right sure it's kind of like how quarterbacks always go man you know i know i had to run like lamar jackson like yeah i know i had to run for like 3 000 yards because nobody could protect me but you know shut up my offensive line i want to be there without them but there's four stars You, multiple times have said, like, this is some of the best superhero television of all time. Yeah. Right? I don't think we can have the conversation about, like, whole seasons or whole series of shows, because some, like, have, like, threes, like, Flash has God knows how many seasons, like, nine. Arrow went on forever. But we can talk about individual seasons. First seasons, yeah. I'm not on first seasons, but just, like, seasons. Yeah, but some people pointed out that I was, you know, once again being super reactionary, because there's the first season of Daredevil. There's a lot of stuff out there. But I'm saying, like, when we talk about it next week. Well, if I didn't better than everything the MCU probably put out, besides Loki. Let's calm down. Let's calm down. A lot of game left. Let's calm down. Besides Loki and maybe WandaVision. Calm down. I'm not going to get into it. We're going to do it in the rankings next week. We're going to do it next week. All right.
