Kids Found STUFFED Inside U-Haul Truck

We just got this in out of Livingston County, Illinois, a rural part of the state, South of Chicago. A deputy pulls over a rental truck because they say it made a wrong turn. I mean, the deputy asks where they're headed in this rental truck and the driver says they're getting away from meth heads in Louisiana. And then the female says that she seems nervous because she quote, hates cops. Now, the police report also notes that two minors were sitting between the driver and passenger seats of the vehicle on the floor. So this deputy goes back to his cruiser to check on the names of the people who are in the cabin. The driver is Roy Humel. According to the police report, he had his license suspended. And the female who is in the passenger seat, her name is Sabrina McKinney. - Okay, so here's the, we're gonna search this thing before we search it. I give people the option, okay? If they're just honest with me, we can work with you, okay? We're not worried about we've got a dime back. We didn't know that's cool. We'll get you taken care of, okay? - We don't do, we don't do, I swear to God. - Okay, we just told me that you're alone with a bunch of meth heads, okay? - No, I say we were staying with meth heads. - Yeah, yeah, that's why we went to meth. - That's why we went to meth heads, so they're not in the car. - No, no, no, we're having worse. We were staying with meth heads. They were trying to get us to do it. We left there to go to where our dad speaks. So the deputies felt that they had probable cause to search the entire truck, and that includes the back, and he likely was not expecting this. I've got multiple subjects in the back. the back of a U-Haul one complaining of exhausted and needing water and food so it's not a close shoe possible. All right. We've got an ambulance coming. In the back, you have four children and two adults and two dogs. Police asked one of the adults if they were okay and she said no. They said they didn't have water or food. And then last name. B-A-I-L-E. This discovery was made on a Thursday around six o'clock in the evening. And according to the police report, one of the adults would tell deputies that they had allegedly been in the back of that truck since around 330 the day prior. And you notice there's also those two dogs in the back as well. Police say there were no signs of food or water in there. They say there was a fan, but it wasn't running. It seems to be broken. The deputy then confronts the driver Roy Humor. If one of them wanted to die, that would have been you. They're in the back of a U-Haul and it's 90 degrees outside. They got nothing back there. You got a dog and four kids back there. Have we ascertained what that smell is yet? Yeah, a mixture of baby diapers in the front that are filled, not filled, but have clear signs of feces and urine. And then the people in the back, the kids have been back there for coming from Louisiana going to Michigan. And they've got nothing back there. Obviously you see the female in the back. And then you've got the kids back there who I open it up there like we're thirsty, we're hungry. I'm mad. That pissed me off, man. That is so bad. I just saw feet when you opened that. I thought they were dead. Oh, my God. The deputy then has more to say to Humor, who's cuffed. Is there an option to wear my dad can you paint it then? No, so here's what's going to happen. You're going to jail, both of you are. No questions asked. Both are going to jail for it. In addition to that, what we're going to do is we're going to put these kids into adults in a hotel. The kids are going to be in a hotel with two adults. You guys are sitting in jail and then while they're in the hotel room, you guys are going to work on getting a hold of somebody to come and get them. But we cannot let this thing roll down the road and you guys do not have any any sort of transportation. This is completely unacceptable. And I get it. You're going through hardship, but this you could have killed one of them. There's no bond in the state of Illinois. So you're going to see a judge. I don't know probably in the morning. But this is completely unacceptable. You could have killed one of those kids. You could have killed that dog. How is that when I had water at the band back there and I had a whole where they could breathe? Dude, you understand how ridiculous this is. Not only that, not only that, but you know how disgusting that you hall is and you got kids sitting in there. You got diapers back there that had pissing. There should be no. I remember back there because Hayden 20 train. There's diapers sitting in the front of the you hall where he was just changed. Sitting on top of diapers that have. No, he just changed. I'm not going to argue with you guys about it. You're going to. The kids. You're about to piss me off. You already done pissed everybody here off. Yeah, because I made a whole mistake and you made you made a mistake that was a danger to everybody. That's great. You can have witnesses but I'm not letting this go down the road and you're going to jail. So that's it. There's no arguing about it. You're not talking yourself out of it. There's 15. good idea like that you guys think that's a good idea but at the same time I so we are part of your guys is custody or like so at this point what we were going to do is both parents are going to go to jail okay we were going to transport all the kids and the two adults to a hotel room and have them stay there while they work on getting a ride to where they're going but if you guys think we ought to take everybody then we'll we can do it but they're not the kids at this point they're not not a cost to do at this point I can give them a hug it sounds like it sounds like it's all her kids so I got back up here and see hey come over here hey so I got a question for you listen we want to help these kids I know I think based on everything that we have here I think it would be a good idea for them to go get checked out at the hospital and just make sure they're medically cleared especially being in the back that you offer as long as they wear without water or anything like that based on that would are you okay would you be cool with them going to the hospital to get cleared and be cool yeah okay do you see you're good with all five kids going over to the hospital and just getting checked out and cleared yeah they need drushed though yeah they need to get clothes on okay she said she's good with them going yeah yeah they're gonna they're gonna take this this is the hospital and get them checked out and yeah we got how many kids were back there for yeah for sure yeah so we got four kids back there okay so once they get medically cleared by the hospital and everything is good then we'll just pick them up from the hospital and take them over the super eight so I know the last he's going to go for endangering forecast it is clear when you watch this body cam video that this is a family that's going through some hard times and need some help but you cannot ignore how dangerous it appears this situation was you have four children six people in total in the back of a you haul truck in the summer and in Illinois it was in the 90s according to deputies on the day that they pulled these people over and they allegedly were in the back of that you haul for more than 24 hours now an interesting twist to the police report when we read it is the driver Roy Humol said that they had on this road trip already been pulled over by law enforcement in Arkansas who allegedly said that they could travel like this with the people in the back what are you going to do with the car that's what we're that's what we're just discussing now so let me let me double check but I'm trying lives in Illinois and he would come and eventually take control of the six miners after they were taken to the hospital to make sure that they were okay now as for the driver Roy Humol and the woman that he was riding with in the front seat named Sabrina McKinney they both were arrested and they were charged with multiple counts of child endangerment Roy was also charged with driving with a
