Karens Believe They’re Above the Law

The transcript reveals a series of incidents where individuals are unfairly accused of serious crimes—such as fleeing, resisting arrest, or operating without insurance—due to misunderstandings, emotional reactions, or poor police conduct. In several cases, suspects are stopped or detained based on ambiguous actions, like refusing to exit a vehicle or close a door, which are later shown to stem from fear, confusion, or lack of context. One woman is arrested for resisting an officer but later clarifies that her phone was not evidence and she had no criminal intent. Another suspect, who fled a crash scene, was found to have acted out of panic, not intent to evade justice. A third case involves a woman claiming adverse possession, but officers discover she lacks legal standing and that the property was actively maintained. Throughout, officers are seen using aggressive tactics—grabbing, threatening, or making abrupt demands—leading to escalation and unjust charges. These incidents highlight how emotional reactions, poor communication, and lack of training can turn routine encounters into legal crises. The underlying theme is that many people are not committing crimes; instead, they are reacting to stress, fear, or perceived injustice. The footage underscores a critical flaw in policing: the failure to treat citizens with empathy, respect, and clear communication, resulting in unjust arrests and a breakdown of trust between communities and law enforcement. Ultimately, these cases reflect a broader issue: the need for better de-escalation training, transparency, and accountability in police interactions.

I understand that, but she's a passenger in this vehicle at the time of the stop. You're ready to straighten suspended. My registration? It is, so please get back in the vehicle. But she can leave in a second just because I stopped you at the time and she was in the car. I pulled over first before you stopped me. I got registration, I got insurance. All right, sit down for a minute. I've asked you twice. I've asked you almost three times now. Please get back in the car. I pulled you over. You're in the car at the time to stop. So please get back in the car. It's serious, sir. Is it got serious? Close the door. Get back. Close the door. Why don't you close the door? Close the door. I'm not doing this with you. Close the door. Why are you being like that? What is wrong with you? Just because you have a gun and a gun. No, it has nothing to do with it. Don't make a power. I've asked you nicely several times. And we're going to try and tell you I'm asking you nicely too. I'm in my vehicle, okay? Please close the door. I don't have to close my door. Who is this? Close the door. She just got her toothbrush pulled. We just came from the dentist. I understand that. And I'll let her get out of the car momentarily. But for now, you need to stay in your car with this door closed. What is all this about? There's a guy that's in plain clothes. What is he doing? Man, you're making this very difficult. Just close. I am not. I'm asking you nicely to please close this door for the 10th time. I'm going to close it when I'm done talking. You can talk to me through the window. Close the door. Close. Don't touch my door, please. Close the door. How long would he just stop it? Don't be that stop. Don't be that close. The door. Don't be that come. Your registration suspended for a lack of insurance. You cancel the policy back in March. Oh, I did not. Man, that's what's coming up on the information. So you need to contact your insurance company. You cannot drive this vehicle. The state of New Jersey, you have a suspended registration. I cannot allow you to drive this vehicle. I understand you live close. If you have anything you need to gather, you can walk home. But this vehicle is being towed. You're going to tow my vehicle. I am do so. I just showed you proof of insurance. It's not valid. It's not a valid policy. It is valid. How was it not valid? It's what's coming up on my end. That it's canceled. You can't just let me put my car in front of my house. You're going to tow my car. I can put it off the street. There's a parking lot right back here. I can take it off the street. You're going to charge $100 to tow my car. I don't have that kind of money. If you continue to drive this, you get into an accident. You heard somebody. It comes back on me. I'm just telling you that I'm going to park it off the street. Right here, it's one block. Please keep the door closed and stay in the vehicle. We're just going to see if this one. My vehicle's not pulled up unless you want a north block. The vehicle's parked. Get out of the car. Get out of the car. Get out of the car. You want under arrest for fleeing a motor vehicle stop. Come on. Come on. You're going to arrest. You are under arrest. Put that out and get out of the car. Why would you arrest my astronaut? You are not allowed to flee a motor vehicle stop. I just flee. I can't put you out of the car. Get out of the car. Now get out of the car now. Bim, you just fled a motor vehicle stop. I didn't flee that car. I was caught. Get out of the car. Turn to the vehicle. One second for that. It's okay. I'll touch my key. It's my key. Get out of the car now. My key. I got a one. I wouldn't go up. No, you do not. Get out. There's somebody around my car. It's going to be responsible. Get out of the car. All right. Put the throw it out. You can't believe you're going to rescue for what? Don't worry about the car. I'm going to put you in like that. Just stop. What is wrong with you people? What are you? You wanted to tow my car so I have to pay $100 some dollars but I should have just parked it right here. Yeah. Well, you made this. You made this much worse than yourself. I did not. I asked you nicely. There's six of you for what? Jesus Christ! Can you look where I'm going? What are you doing right here? In the back part, man. Where is he doing? In the back part. He doesn't have the right to go in my car. He did not allow! Don't go in my car. Man, come back. You know, can you make sure I don't go in my car? Come back on me. They don't have the right to go in my car. This is a bail cost. There's no bail. She's just going to have a summit. You're going to have a cheat? Yes. I wasn't going to a first. I kept getting out of the car. I didn't want. I'm a long case. I didn't understand. I'm sorry, but she didn't have to. I did not want any of this. So she'll be back in an hour. This suspect, despite fleeing the scene, was charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle and obstruction. She is innocent and less proven guilty in a court of law. Excuse me, sir. Wake up. You okay? The suspect now wakes up. This isn't your car, dude. It's not my car. You need a hop out. Come on. Okay. I'm hopping out. Can I turn off the passenger? Can you turn it off? Come on. It's off. This isn't your car. It's not my car. No. 23 or 24? What's going on? Hey, wait, wait, wait. Come here. I'm not running away. Damn, you can have the full walk over my occurs. Damn, don't grab me. I'll get it. You walk over here. Knock it back here. This is not your car. Guys, you can't go over here. This isn't your car. You don't have to go over here. Walk over here. Over here. All right, don't. I'll go over here. Walk over here. Walk over here. That's how you're walking away. Over here. Lean up against the car. What's your name? Aden. Aiden. A-I-D-E-M. Yeah. A-I-D-A-N. All right. I have no criminal with you. OK. Why? Keep your hands on the car. OK. Why are you in this car? This is my girlfriend's dog's car. This car? No, the car's there. Yeah, you were in the car. This is the car. We just saw you in this minivan. Aiden's girlfriend, who lives in the nearby apartment building, now attempts to jump in the conversation. Let us figure this out. Can you-- But you were in somebody else's vehicle. Why were you in somebody else's vehicle? I didn't have a drive in that car. I was only driving in the mud. Yeah, we know that. Where were you coming from? No. Your house? Yeah. The people you're talking were they the initial car? Yeah. You might hang out with them for a sec. Keep your hands on hand. All right, I'm coming true. I was at work. I got into the wrong car. I apologize. Sure. Face the car. Face the car and keep your hands on the car. You're not going to walk away. Do you hear me? Yes, I do. So stop. You're not listening. That's the problem. OK, keep your hands on the car. I'm going to the car. Do you see him? I have it for you. No, no, I can't. Where are you going? He's going to the man's car on the car. Do you not go in your car? Do you see my hands on the car? No. Keep them on the car. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. [Music] on to your stomach. - Come on over. - You're not (beep) - You're not (beep) - Oh my God, you're not (beep) (water splashing) - You got to move it right now. - You're gonna get hurt. And I made some f*cking dumb mistakes and you guys are f*cking here. - Stop it, you little f*cks. 'Cause you may f*ck smart smoke. You all join the cops. You all made some f*cking dumb choices. You know what? You guys, you guys, dude, it is the end of the world. You know what, you think it is your smart ass? Come on, you, dude. - Let's get out. - Stop it, come on. - Oh, thank you. - Let's go. (water splashing) Stop. Stop thinking. - Well, thanks, mom. Thanks, mom. Thanks, mom. - Alright. - Alright. - Yeah, you helped me so much. Yeah, f*ck you. I don't go f*cking killing yourself. Come on, dude, you'll be alright, you son. - F*ck you, dude. It's not what the f*ck you are. You think of this? You think you want your f*cking promotion? You want your f*cking benefit, you f*ck yourself, bro. You're f*cking a f*cking hell, bro. All you want is your f*cking benefits. - Yeah, I break my arm. Yeah, I break my arm. Yeah, you f*cking f*ck yourself. - No, f*ck yourself. - Bring my arm. - Hey, dude. - Yeah. - How you feeling? - How do you feel now? - Are you just seeing an ambulance at all? - F*ck you. - Is that a no? - Let me try and do it. Take your cups off. - Hey, can somebody help me take my cup off? - F*cking getting no protection by the police here. - Yo, they're abusing me. - I want live f*cking protection. - Okay, I want to write to a lawyer. I would like to get my f*cking likes defended. Hello, I would like a lawyer to see me. - Can you guys fit? Hello, officers. Can you please strip, search me. I don't have anything on me. I would like you to search me. - The f*ck that I feel seriously. - Officers were originally called for a traffic crash report where a red Mazda struck a Honda. The caller stated a male white driver who appeared in toxicated, exited the Mazda, and then entered the Honda, which ended up being the suspect officers found sleeping in the car he struck. He was charged with battery driving under the influence of alcohol and two counts of obstructing. After pleading guilty, he was ordered to pay $1,956.50 in restitution. Serve ten days in jail, participate in 100 hours of community service, and was placed on 18 months of probation. After all the cops watching, you ever roll up on something that looks harmless and you realize it could go sideways at any second. That's this kind of call. A man asleep in the passenger seat of a car that isn't his, no screaming, no weapons, and no drama. Yet. But every cop knows that quiet does not mean safe. It's just the calm before you find out what kind of storm you're really dealing with. You look at the guy, you know right away, something's off, the delayed response, and the smell that never lies. That's not exhaustion. That's chemicals. It's only keep his hands visible. And he can. You tell him to stand still and he won't. That's when your instinct starts yelling louder than you're radio. Because you don't know if he's reaching for a vape, a knife, or the next bad decision that could end you both. You never get to pick up someone, react to you, and when that person's mind is fogged up from whatever they've taken, logic leads before they even start talking. And that's the problem when you mix poor judgment with the fight, because it doesn't take long for a simple encounter to turn into a fight for control. Then we've got a traffic stop that's seen every cop knows by heart, and all it takes is one person deciding that the role don't apply to them. You tell them to stay put and they step out anyway. You tell them to wait and they talk over you, but it's not the law that they're fighting its responsibility. See, society's got it twisted, driving isn't a right, it's a privilege, and with privilege comes responsibility, but people won't treat them without the rules and respect without the restraint. When that driver argue, stalled and then drove off, she didn't just break the law, she broadcasted the message that her pride mattered more than her safety, whether it's a guy high in laws or a driver for the pride that outcome hangs on one thing, respect for the process. Because out in the street you don't get to rewrite the rules or either follow them or you find out the hallway why they exist. After making hundreds of complaints at the police station, this woman is about to mess around and find out. The fact that you don't want to get into the space, the fact that you don't want to get into the space, you can touch my face and I can't get into the space. You can touch my face and I can make it in the first place. No, I did not, he touched me, he touched me, he touched me, stay away from him, don't get into the space. One of these three complaints that I have today is about officer coming down here on the 17th and pretending to get into the space and play out of this, I have not had anyone before this. And no more before this, have I? We're going to complain about that, so that is not a good piece and rather than taking, which this policy says you must do, you'll be a valid day today. And what kind of material I was shopping you didn't exist. We have anyone you request to. Yes, Lord, thank you very much. There's no reason I don't have to leave you. I can get that myself and say you have great stuff outside of life. And consider your great all day. You can't get in your space. No, there are people in here. You can't come down here, I refuse to take my citizens and complain about my David. There is no margin for you for use. It does not say that anywhere. I have a complaint about Gregory lying to me all on the phone yesterday that's getting filled out right now. Yes, it is. As your policy says that you will do. And nobody told me that I call here on the fifth essay. I just don't know. Do you ask me exactly? You have no right to make me think a lot of you. You have no right to make me think of you. You have no right to touch me, which you did. You have no right to touch me. You have no right to keep my things up and carrying them out there. You have no right to touch my things. Literally lying. These aren't repeats. I have never complained about that protecting. They protect it to take chooses and complain about payments. They put the numbers on the pages. They were back there a minute coffee for me and then didn't sign them. And then she always comes down here going. I don't know what you're talking about. You did it for her. You did it for her. You did it for her. Stand up. Stand up. Please stand up. Stand up. Stand up. Oh my god. No, this is not okay. This is not okay. Please, somebody do something about this. This is not okay. Cross me, please. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. This is not okay. This is not okay. This is not okay. This is not okay. Please. Please. Please. I have no arrest for no reason. Stop. This is not okay. This is not okay. This is not okay. I cannot believe this. Don't get there. Don't catch a charge. You want to go arrested me? I'm going to go arrested me. I have everybody to sit in the lobby and feel that this is a good play. Have a day. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. You are hurting me. You are hurting me. You want to go. Wash the drugs. You are, you are, you are breaking, my violated my rights. You are absolutely violated my rights. You are violating my rights. I would see it quietly. You can't come down here and refuse. Why am I being arrested? We establish that I am aware of the situation. I'm so out of form. We establish that. Why are you arresting me? You are resisting. If you stop resisting. You have no right to be arresting me. You don't need to know. All right, ma'am, you got anything on you? No, I don't have anything on me. There is no reason to be arresting me. I was sitting quietly in a lobby filling out a form. It is my right to fill out. And these officers came up and arrested me. Tell me to stand. Tell me to stand. Tell me to stand. Everybody to be sitting there So that's not kicking anyone that's because my feet are hot Five days after that fiasco the suspect was released from custody after she posted bond When an officer calls her to give her important information regarding her arrest. She reveals something wild There was a misunderstanding. Your phone is not places evidence. It's a place for safekeeping. You are able to come retrieve your phone You can come retrieve your phone So you know your issue to trust pass for the North War Police Department. Yes, I do. Okay. I went by your residence. I placed a form on your door, okay? So listen, I left it on the door around back. The lady that was there told me exactly which door was yours. So listen, I actually was doing your favor. So anytime your trust pass from public property, you can appeal it. So I actually was nice enough to give you the appeal form, but for you appeal it, you need to do it through City Hall, okay? So you can call City Hall. You can call City Hall. You can call City Hall and schedule an appointment for your appeal. If you actually, if you set up an appeal, you have authorized business to be there that day. You have any questions for me? This suspect Sharon was charged with felony battery on a law enforcement officer and felony resisting with violence. She was later assigned a public defender to represent her in this case. However, that attorney filed a motion to raise the topic of incompetency to stand trial. The latest reports on the case indicate that after evaluation, a judge deemed she was incompetent to stand trial. When going, she is being held at a state facility and she is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. It's counterproductive and it's exactly where cops are taking the same complaint over and over because some people don't want resolution, they just want to stay in charge. You don't get to treat the law like it's optional, like it's something you can argue down or just outsmart in the moment. Then turn around and try to play victim when those same consequences grab you by the collar. I've seen people actually break down in the backseat of my cruiser, but the law doesn't negotiate it enforces. The problem is the moment you learn that is usually too late. It's worse and worse, so does her attitude. So you said you've had drinks tonight, you've got an open-intox in your vehicle. So I'm going to ask you for a free body test tonight. Just to make sure that you're safe to drive. I understand that. I understand that. I understand that, but I pulled you over and you were operating a motor vehicle. So I just have to make sure since you had alcohol, you've admitted to it, you've got an open drink in your car. Right here, you're dealing with me, and you got glassy bloodshot eyes. No, I've been crying. I understand that, okay. I'm crying. Okay, hold on. Hold on to the soul. Thanks for making my night even worse. Oh man, you're the one who's operating a motor vehicle, you don't have a possess of an electric car. That doesn't make me cry. So you can yell at me all you want. I'm not yelling. I'm not yelling. Okay, it sounds like it's about to storm. Okay. So would you like to do field sobriety tests out here? Whoa, no, don't walk away from me, ma'am. Don't grab me. Don't grab me. Don't grab me. Step back over here, please. Don't grab me. Stay out of the road. Grab me. Don't grab me. Don't walk away. Can he go away, please? Yeah, I'll have him stand back here. Like, is there two? Yeah, man him. In one vehicle. No, there's just one. Well, why? Because I think one. Okay. Hey, hold on. You're not going to tell us how to run the stop here, ma'am. Okay. Okay. Okay. So on nights, we respond in two to any kind of traffic stop and call for service. Because you were watching me. Ma'am, I was sitting down here. Did you see where I pulled out from? Ma'am, you drove great past me. And I happen to know your car and I happen to know that you are a vote. Well, I wasn't. I had an occupational and I got a Ford that is suspended. I couldn't afford. Okay. Please put that on the trunk of your car. Yeah, that's what I was going to do. Oh, ma'am, ma'am. I was going to do that. Ma'am, I'm just asking you. I don't need you to add a tool. I'm not trying to give you attitude. I'm just very. Okay. Okay. Well, we got to deal with the, we got to deal with all the issues here. All right. Step back over here for me, please. I'm going to explain the test. I know what the test is. You know, I have to explain. I have to explain them by state law. The first test is for horizontal gaze and stagnance test or the HGN test. Would you like to stay out here in the rain or would you like to go on the squad? I want it. I'm fine. Right here. Okay. I'm going to be watching your eyes and your eyes only. So I'm going to move the tip of my pen back and forth in front of your eyes. Can you please take your glasses off and set them on the hood of your car for me? I'll put them there. Okay. Can you see the tip of my pen? Okay. Yes, no. Okay. Yes, you know. Yes, you know. Yeah. Yeah. All the tip of my pen with your eyes and your eyes only. Keep your head still for me. I'm just going to put this car in the rain. Yep. He's going to roll up your windows for you. Dave, for safety, let's get off this road. Yep. There's a tree that just tracks over here. All right. All right. We're going to move. You're going to come with me. All right. Go ahead and step in for me. Oh, what? Step in. Because we're not going to stand out here in the pouring down rain and do this. So step in. Step in. Sit in the squad car. Okay. How am I supposed to do this? Oh, sorry. What's in there? My bag. All right. Let me ask PD. It's not like I'm trying to be a bag. Oh, sorry. I didn't know my bag was back here. I don't go to jail for driving the car. It isn't correct. You do it to crime. Operating while revoked. Do it all right. It's a crime. Well, we'll see how the rest of this plays out. All right. Smells like wheat in here. Yep. It does. So it happens when you see. It smells like weed. All right. Gassy. So we're going to start the test over. What? Well, he's my back officer. He's not going to say anything to you. - I don't want to do that. I don't want to hear, I don't want it. - Okay, ma'am. - I don't like it. - Again, we're gonna start the test over. - When people are upset, their eyes do weird too. - Okay, that's your opinion, I'm gonna train, I'm gonna look for what I'm trained for. - Can you go do all your own thing? - Just, just. - Thank you, if I need you all, let's you know. - Thank you. - Okay. - Thank you. - I'm not gonna ask you to do the test again. If you refuse, I'm just going to arrest you. - I've got it. - I want you to fall with your eyes and your eyes only. Keep your head still, just keep your head still former during the test. - Am I not? - All right, the last one is just gonna be checking your eyes going vertical. And I just want you to fall upward, fall vertical. All right, everyone more time. Yeah, all right, you can relax this. Like, I'm just gonna make some notes quick. Based on all my observations tonight, man, I believe you to be under the impairment of alcohol, okay? - Interesting. - So, would you like to provide a PBT sample? - If I say no, you're arresting me, correct? - I'm gonna arrest you either way. So, PBT, because I saw the clues that I need to see you during the tests. - I am freaking out. - Okay, man. At this point in time, you are under arrest for operating motor vehicle while intoxicated. - How would I under arrest? - 'Cause I just told you you are under arrest. - But for driving without a license. - You're driving, well, under the influence of alcohol, or WI, operating while intoxicated. - But I'm not, I'm not over a point away. - Well, I give you the opportunity, ma'am. I don't need to, based on the clues that I've seen, I believe you to be under, over the legal limit. So, you'll have your day in court, you're under arrest. Do you understand? - Wait, wait. - I'm not being anything, ma'am, I'm doing my job. - Don't call me ma'am, I have a name. - Okay, Cassie, turn around and face the way for me, push your hands to the smaller back, please. - Do I have to be arrested to go over to the-- - You have to be in handcuffs. - Okay, I gave you the option to walk over to my squad car. Hey, don't run. - No? - I was kidding, I was not arrest. - You're under arrest. - I was kidding. - I was on a key hit. - No, kidding. - No. - I got her. - I got her, Nate. - I got her, Nate. - Yep, nope. You took her off run and ma'am? - I was kidding. - No, yeah, that's not kidding. - I was pretty bad. - Here you go. - Okay. - All right, bring your feet in. Bring your feet in. All right, stand up. I gave you the option. - Why am I left just a little tight? - This is one of my left hand is a little tight. - Oh, they're good. You can just finger underneath them. Feet them. All right, ma'am, step into the car for me. - Okay, it's honestly just-- - Nope. - No, no, no. - We've had your opportunity. - Oh my, you had your opportunity. - You had your opportunity. You don't listen to me. - Ma'am, you had your opportunity. And you ran from me. So step into the car. - You don't listen to me. - Step into the car. - Step into the car. - You don't listen. - Step into the car. - You didn't listen. - I did not say you did, I said, do not kick me. - As soon as I heard her start to get loud, I'm like, all right, I clicked my body, came on. - Cassie was charged with resisting obstructing. Possession of THC, possession of paraphernalia. Operating a vehicle while under the influence. Operating a vehicle with a revoked license. Operating a motor vehicle without insurance. Possession of open intoxicants in a motor vehicle. And bail jumping. While Cassie was caught immediately in her attempt to flee. This next suspect wreaks havoc on multiple vehicles while fleeing from police. - And she doesn't think somebody. - She's trying to make you see another car. Continue the road. - Oh, thank you. - She swirled all the road about 80 miles an hour. Passing language, she's fish killing. (sirens wailing) - 10-4, she's in Latinos, the cigar bar just got out. (sirens wailing) - Hey, come here. Come here. Stop. Turn around. - I just thought I had a tail. - Okay, it's good, turn it over. - Turn over. - Turn over. - Turn over. - I need help. - Help you. - I was in the jail. - Put your arm back around behind you. - Put your arm behind your back. - I'm decodding, I'm sorry. - Yeah. - Start listening. - Yeah. - You've got like five people. - Yeah, I'm one of them. - Let's stand up. - Naples 3, 11 morning custody. - And it must be her phone. - Yeah. - You walk back from my car? - Yeah. - That's how I will do it. - So you were the guy here? - Yeah. - Naples address to be four. - She reckoned it. - I know. - So put her right here in front of me. - I don't ask her. - With her or is that? - My son. - He's at the hospital. He just went to the hospital. My son didn't go to the hospital right now. - I was in the hospital with him. - Please. Please listen. Can I tell you what happened? - You all know what happened. - I thought I'd see you. - And I asked you when we went to the bail zone. My son was taking me to the hospital. - So far, I think she's hit three to five people all the way down 41. - I got damaged on that vehicle. - Was he in bailing car with you? - No. - Yeah, she's with the crashes. - How many people she hit? - She didn't go to work that. - I don't know. I was just waiting at the light, crashed into the, she pulled in through what else was over it. - Oh, there's nothing. - There's nothing. - Did you hear anything on you? - Yeah, I know. - We got another female deputy. - I don't have anything on you. - Oh, no, this one you got here too. - Okay. - Just stay right here. - I don't know anything good. - I didn't get her name or anything. - I guess her son's car. - Okay. - So is it. - 41 at Bayshore. - I don't know. - She's like coming right at me. It's the curb, blows her tire, and it's like the whole way down, like, swarming all over the place. - Okay, let's go. - Yeah. - I'm gonna leave it there. - Are you Janice? - Yeah. - Janice. - Yeah. - Oh my three. - She crashed. - She's like, I'm off. - She took off run. - Yeah. - Yeah. - I took off run. - Yeah. - She took off running. - She ran. - So stopped. - She said, no. - No. - She's coming, like, switching lanes. I was like, hope. - She nailed the curb. - She's up below her thought. - It's fall, but in all sense, she's speeding. - I'll see you smoking. - She's swarming as hell. - Uh oh. - Just got out. - Oh yeah. - Nice. - What's that today? - Yeah. - And that's where son's car. - It's hurting. - It's hurting my Lord. - Be quiet. That's why you shouldn't run. Or resist. - Okay. - Show me that out. - On the roll. - This suspect, Janice, was charged with leaving the scene of a crash. Two counts of felony aggravated fleeing, eluding with injury or property damage, resisting obstructing and felony fleeing, eluding a law enforcement officer with lights and sirens activated. She was adjudicated guilty on the charges of leaving the scene of a crash. One count of aggravated fleeing, eluding with injury or property damage, and resisting obstructing while the other charges were dropped. She was sentenced to three years of probation and given a one-year driver's license suspension. You ever notice how some people don't run to escape police? They actually run to escape the moment closing in on them. And their first encounter, the decision was already forming before the cuffs ever showed up. And that little rowside breath machine that people argue about, it's not what convicts you. It helps officers decide whether they can legally make the arrest. Did you guys catch her face from expression when she tried to slip through that half-open deranged door? Because that was not a well-thought out plan, that was pure panic mode. In the second driver, collisions, the foot chase, then she stops and says she's detoxing. That's her body finally overriding the knob, but that's her mind was still trying to negotiate the situation, but her body already knew the truth. The most arrest don't actually begin with the badge pulls up. They begin long before that. In a series of small choices someone kept telling themselves one a big deal. But eventually you have to start running from your choices because the same person you're trying to outrun, the same person you have to look at in the mirror. I'm a federal agent, I'm a federal agent with HSL, and I walked up here to get it straight. That's what I saw. Okay. There you go. Okay. Gotcha. All right. What's going on there? I'm out of time. I came back in here to get my driver's and my seat and my guest, she's trying to go over. And we came back to see if we could get the money back. You guys were here earlier, right? Yes. We were here earlier to come to get the money back. The reason I've come off like this is because when you come out and you group, then you don't get the other half. We came in here earlier. He had money in his car. Let's come out here. Okay. Okay. We came over here earlier. He had money in his car and they were trying to say that they didn't. Right. He didn't. We know. He paid me and he told the lady in the truck. I would like to get a lighter and put the rest on gas. She overcharged him. Six dollars for the lighter. The lighter is only $1.70. I came in here and I started being real nice to her. I said, okay. You guys charge him for a lighter and then you want him to rest in gas. She says there's no transactions or funds on his car. I'm like, okay. Well, then how did he get the lighter? If there's no funds on his car, how did he get the lighter? came out this respectful. So I'm gonna be honest, I'm gonna wear plastic up in here. I checked his car to see if they even took his money. They took his money. They over charged him $6. And on his base, they showed that they never did the transaction the right way. - So what are you gonna do with that stuff? - So he came over here and I was gonna open the door. Just to come in here and say, you know what, we would like the money back. - It's going on there. I'll tell you what I saw. All right. I've been here to buy a drink for a meeting at the U.S. Bernie's office. And I come out and I see this man, and this woman, she's got some black weapon and look like a stick or a taunt. And they walk in there and they start screaming. And these people are on the phone and they ask if they're police. So I grabbed my cuffs, opened the door. She's got her, she's got like a stick up. Like she's gonna hit somewhere. These are yelling at 'em. I just drawed out and said, hey, please drop the weapons. Sort this out, but I can't do anything with everybody yelling at 'em. Drop the stick. She got down. She was being worried about it. Wouldn't provide, so listen, I don't know what's going on, but if you can't have the weapons you're treading posture, I think people are just trying to shot. It's a snow go. So were they treading the clerk or the treading? Like I said, it was real weird when I got in there to buy the drink. They were watching 'em off the window and they were like, hey, they just came in here to try to pluck us. Then as I'm leaving, I see him in the park. We've got a vehicle walk all the way here and she's like got some, you know, just a big one-course out there in here. He didn't do nothing. I'm the one that did it. What did you do? I didn't do nothing. Like I said, I was gonna open the door to talk to him very nicely and tell him if we can get the money back that they overcharged him for and leave, but they want to start their little sh*t and he's gonna root out over there, open the door and put the sh*t in the gun out. Yeah, you hold on. You have every right to put your gun out, but the only time you pull a gun out is if that person's really trying to act with you with the weapon. Until the person comes out, you put the weapon and goes out to you with the knife, that's sick or any kind of wh*t. You have every right to sh*t. What are you gonna do with that, stick? I don't know the thing, I don't know, but. What were you gonna do with the stick? I was gonna do anything. I was gonna spare him to be honest that's what I was gonna do, but I wasn't gonna hit him. Where did you get that from? Huh? What did you do? Don't worry about it. No. That's my stick. That's what it is. That's your stick. It came off of a little cano that I was trying to do. But at the end of the day when you're gonna come out and you put your gun on me, you don't do that until I actually charge with my weapon and you come with your gun. I'm gonna be honest. I've been in that system all my life. I just got out two years ago and I've been doing that. I had a lot of good. But now it's a little point, when people are gonna come up to suspect, "Look, you're gonna get a hole in the other hand." But he had no rights for this gun. Until I went after him with the weapon, "Yeah, you have every right." And many of you put his gun and asked me to put my weapon on and get down. This guy's a federal agent. So that was your stick right there? That was my stick. And he asked me to put it in. He didn't have it. I had it. She had it. But right now I'm gonna detain you, because we're gonna get into more into the investigation. But I'm gonna detain you for now. You're not gonna detain me. I have my right. You're not under arrest. You're gonna be detained. Oh, well, you're detaining me. You can't detain me. You can't detain me. You can't detain me. You can't detain me. That's what we figure out. Okay. He said he was a police officer, get down on the ground, get down on the ground. And he, I saw the gun and he walked up and I was like, there's a guy out there with a gun. She finally got down on the ground and then he got down on the ground and then the new team. They never entered the store. We wouldn't let them enter it because they were going to kill themselves. They only got to the, before you're there. Yeah, they got inside the four year there and they were holding this door and that door customer was and was not letting them in the store because we know exactly what was going to happen if they let them in the store. And that's when she was taking the stick, which was a plastic stick to try to break the window and everything. Okay, listen, here's what's going to happen. Okay, you've been trespassed from this property now. You have your ID with you. Okay, here's what's going to happen, man. We need your driver's license. Okay. Where is it? It's in my I think she has it. Where would she have it? She didn't have anything on her. What's your name, ma? Who's vehicles this? It's my name. It's my name. I don't know why you guys are a tinder for it. It was a point to your tinder for what's the reason? That's what we were doing. That's what we were investigating. But that cop didn't know what the reason. He put the gun out. You guys are officers. You guys know that by now. You guys know by the law, you guys speak kind to her. You guys are not kind to her. You guys are not. You guys are like, you guys are, you guys are scouts talking to cops. That's not a nice talk to a person like that. You get the f*** out of here. That's not nice. Well, it's not nice that you threaten the other people. Either is it? I don't go over there and start charging them in threatening them like you did. I don't do that. Yeah, I know what I'm saying. You can't come back on this property, okay? I'm trying to be nice to you, okay? If you come back here and they call us and they say, "Hey, he's back here." And we find you here, man. You're going to get arrested. Okay, we don't want that for you. Obviously you're going through some stuff. What about the gas? No. You got to go somewhere else, man. Somewhere else? Yeah, take this off. She's going to go to jail. Yeah. Because what she did? Yes. You know, she kind of overreacted, right? You know you don't have the law. You just don't have the people of the country. That name and date of birth that you gave me is not coming back to anything. That's my date of birth. Okay, I'm just saying, do you go by, like, how do you. This is a different way of spelling than yellow? It's Daniela. Right now, my date of birth. We'll try it again. We're going to take you to the station. And we're going to have ambulance people check you out because you have some matters. Some stuff right here. You're easier. Where is my boyfriend? He took off. You guys see him? I'm talking to him. He took off. You wanted to leave? No. I recently found out that my grandson Eli is a big fan of Louis. So I decided to check out an episode. The one I watched was called Bad Moot. And it actually highlights something we see in body cam videos all the time. And that episode bingo gets stuck in a bad mood. And the lesson is simple. Sometimes people don't actually want to let go of their anger. She must like being in a bad mood. Being angry can make someone feel in control, protect their pride, and make it easy to blame someone else and set a step in back. That's exactly what we saw in this situation. Both people here were clearly upset. But once emotion took over, every step that followed, the arguing, resisting, and even coming back with a stick, just pulled the situation further downhill. Now for years people have believed it was healthy to just let your anger out. But research now shows the opposite because letting anger rip often escalates aggression instead of solving the problem. Now in the blueie episode, they eventually break the bad mood with positive distractions. Now you're in a good mood. I've learned that sometimes when someone is angry, telling their side of the story just makes them replay the anger. And someone someone to relax rarely makes them relax. And that's what we're thinking about. Because a bad mood doesn't make someone a bad person. Maybe I should give my bad mood a cuddle. Oh, why? He's bad. No, he isn't. He was just behaving bad. But what anger starts to control behavior, the consequences in the real world show up fast. This suspect was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. She is presumed innocent, unless proven guilty in a court of law. A real estate property manager calls the police after someone breaks into a home he's selling, and is still inside the property claiming squatters rights. What officers don't know is the burglar inside is the worst Karen we've ever seen. What a joke. That's not our door handle. They took it off. 6-9-1-9. I'm making your dogs. Somebody's going to the door. Can you hold up? What a cheek. It's astonishing, isn't it? You looked out the window and then walked away from the door. The thing is, the only way to get the lock box off is if you don't know the code, is to take the door handle off and throw it away. They came prepared. That's our standard key. That key does all of our property surrender to the U.S. I'm there. Hey. I don't know. I don't know. Why are you on my property? Come on out. No, no. Do not touch me. You need to come outside right now. No, I do not. I know I was. Sir, get off of my property. I have to find my property. At first property. At first possession with tape. You need to come out and talk to me. Oh, I have to talk to you. Respect. Respect my space. You do not have any way to come and grab me. Did I touch you? You are trying to grab me. You know I have my paperwork. Things come outside. Is it a symbol? Matter now. Because I filed adverse possession, sir. I'm outside. I have, sir, get out of my house. Adverse possession is a law that allows a trespasser to legally acquire the title to another person's property that is abandoned or not maintained. However, a person can only claim this after uninterrupted possession of the house for seven years and cannot be done in secret. I will pay 4K down to get this. Then come outside and discuss it. I will discuss it. I will discuss it. You don't have no right to grab me, sir, when I have my paperwork. You are listening to one side of a story. You did not hear me. I am an American citizen. You have no right to step in my house. There is not one way to purchase a home. You're going to come outside. Get out of my house. You cannot remove me from the house. You cannot remove me from my house with my paperwork, sir. Can we see the paperwork yet? Stay to Florida. Stay to Florida. Adverse possession. Actually, me and my husband had filed this. You need to come outside. Okay, well, you need to know your laws because you seem very uneducated about adverse possession. This is, I know what I'm doing. I'll tell you what. The people who know what they're doing and know that they're doing illegally don't react the way that you do. You don't grab me. I said, give me a minute so that I can put my dogs away and you grab me. You tried to come running out the back of the house to run. You could have gone out the front door. You didn't know I was back here. No front, I saw you from there. See the assumption, sir? One of them came and tried to break in. That was an agent trying to show the property that he's vacant and he's not yours. What are you talking about? First of all, it is. No, it's not. I've got all the paperwork. You need an attempt to establish adverse possession with title. Hey, how long has the home been sitting there abandoned? It's not abandoned. It's not abandoned. It's not abandoned. Yes. It's not a relationship. You can't grab me out here. I'm grabbing you. You need to get out. No, he tried to grab me out of here. We filed adverse possession on the home already. Thank you. You can be on MLS all it wants to be. Come inside my lo. Don't snore. I just did it. You'll be out. Don't worry. I don't care. Yeah, you will. I paid already. You'll be out. You'll be out. You'll be out. I'll be back in 30 days with the sheriff. And you'll be out. Trust me. Yeah. Don't worry. You'll be out. Smarty pants. What's adverse possession? You know what you're doing? You go. Yeah, whatever. What's adverse? It's wrong to say it's abandoned. It's not abandoned. There's a sheet in there where eight where the contract is coming clean in every week. It's not abandoned. It's listed. It's been listed for a year. We have showings all the time. It's not abandoned. It's not an abandoned property. So she's lying. She doesn't know what she's talking about. There's a bit of title. Have you told me that's a bit of a title right now? Select portfolio servicing. There's my listing agreement from select portfolio servicing. This is how old the file is. It's never been abandoned since we foreclosed on it. My phone number was on the window. She's taken that down. The realtor says his phone number was even on the window and they took that down. This was in the window. We don't see it now. I got pictures of it there last week. Okay. There's my sign last week. And there you can see the lock box and our brass door. Gone. With all the paperwork and photo evidence the property manager has, officers determine he's correct. And the Karen has no authority to claim adverse possession on the residents. Now they just need to figure out how to get her out of the house. Here's what we're at. What she's doing is squatting. They change the locks to the locks. That's that. So we have authority. If you want to break the door down, we can go in and remove her forcefully. We can arrest her with trespassing and theft. We're just getting the locks. That's entirely up to how far you want to go with this. Would you rather do it the safer way with minimal risk of damaging the property and doing like you said, doing the 30 days of the sheriff's office? Or are you wanting her removed immediately now? Because that's the case. If she doesn't let us back in, if she doesn't come and agreed to open the door. What she may not do now because she knows she's probably on the wrong. You will have to be responsible for breaking the door down and paying the damages. Well, it's our property anyway. We own it. Whatever damage is there is there. What are they going to do in the month they're there? And the money they're going to cost us by not being able to market it? I can't answer that. No, exactly. So you don't think she's going to come to the door anyway? I mean, we can try again. And I would have German go up there because she doesn't like me clearly. So she might be willing to come back to the door once he goes up to it. What do you think? Let's try that. Can we see that paperwork again, please? Can we go to the back? Can you just leave me in the back door? No. Because I need you to show me that paperwork again. She said she's gone. coming out. Can he give us permission to kick it in, or does he have to be the one that should do it? I don't know what the legal requirements are here. He's a master police officer, so he knows this up more than I do. Let's check the back door. Do you have a screwdriver drill? I have my multi-tooled house screwdriver in it. Yeah, it will be faster with a drill because that door, like he says, it's been broken, but it's just the little piece of wood is holding it. Man, you're going to need to come outside. At least open the door, because I'm ordering you. If you refuse to follow that order, you will be arrested for resisting. Do you want to be arrested for resisting? Resisting what? I have my paper work. Resisting a lawful order. Go ahead and record and then open the door. We need to see it personally. Come open the door. I'm going to go grab my multi-tool. We don't have a drill. Step back. Step back. Step back from the door. Step away from the door. Sir, step away. Tell this man who step away. Just step away. I need to see him. I found a verse possession on the 20th. Can I see that? Yes. You don't have to hold it, sir. This is the original copy. Okay. As you can see, this is the adverse possession of Florida. Now, I know what I'm doing because this is not the only property that I pay taxes on. You pay a portion of taxes for adverse possession and you start cleaning up the home so you can take over the home. Milo, come inside now. Melody, inside. So no longer this is not in your hand. This is a court civil case where we fight and we show them that we've paid we're going to be paying taxes on the home. When you pay a portion of the taxes, you go to the appraisal office and you pay a portion of the taxes on the home. This home has been sitting. That's why adverse possession exists. That's not my fault that you can't do your job and you can't believe foreclosed on. If you are a real estate agent, that means you have to sell in an unlimited time. You know nothing about what you're talking about. Yes, I do. It's not adverse possession. 575,000 was paid for this property in January last year at foreclose yourself. Yeah. It makes it legally the owner's property. It is an old man abandoned. I have pictures of the property every week, date and time stamp, which will go to the court. You are wrong. No, you are wrong. We are maintaining it. We are with the poor and the frogs. Yeah. And what's wrong with that? That's not maintaining. Makes no difference. The property and we have got abandoned. I'm going to hear every 10 days. So you're criteria are wrong. No, my criteria. Sir, you cannot grab me, sir. Sir, you cannot do that. I have dogs. Sir, I found my present. I found adverse possession. I found my present. I did it the right way. Sir, please. My dog. Sir, can you help me? Sir, that's my paperwork. Sir, what about my dog? What about my dog? I just need to move it. I need to call the police because this is wrong. I have my paperwork. You can't address me. You can't answer me. What are you listening to me? Are you serious? I have rights. I told you. Berglory trespassing is that. This is not burglary. I have the paperwork, sir. I went through the appraisal. State appraisal. They gave me the key. Oh, my God, sir. And now you're being served with resisting. Sir, can I breathe, please? I can't breathe. Let me. please. Give me my phone. Let me get on my side. You don't get your stuff. I have my MacBook Pro weights. Let's go inside. I have to. You don't get everything. I can't do this again. Sir, are you pressing charges? Come to the bank. I declare. bankruptcy! Are you pressing charges? At this officer phone, the water, because you won't cooperate. What about my stuff? We don't get it for you. I wasn't the one who did it. What about my phone? Please! Stop resisting. Stop! Leave me alone! Sir, please! Stop spitting in my face. I'm not. That's not fair, because I had my paperwork. You're racist? I'm coming for you. I'm a f---ing. I have. I can't wait to come to you. You're racist, fat. I'm coming to that. Don't worry. I have my paperwork. Don't worry. Don't worry. I have paperwork. I have paperwork, too. I had my paperwork. And I'm being arrested for what? What am I being arrested for? There can be. Oh, you're trying to break out of your cups now. So now you're going to get another charge. Up against the law. You're about to get paid right now. Don't worry. Here we. Call the cops! Here we call the cops! Call the cops! Call the cops, here we. [Breathing] [Breathing] [Breathing] [Breathing] [Breathing] Roll around your back. You're gonna stay right there on the ground. [Breathing] [Breathing] Get the f--- out of my face. Far from Spion. Get the f--- out of my face. Far from Spion. I have no respect for you, GED, dumb loser. You ugly f---! [Breathing] We need to wait for a female. It's just going to be gone. I have male coming too. I can't wait to see her. [Breathing] That f---! [Breathing] Get the f--- out of my face! [Breathing] This is the last hour of working out again. Three weeks ago. I go check this out with this guy. So now we're gonna need animal patrol. Two small dogs, possibly a pomeranians. What's going on? I wouldn't be surprised if there's somebody else in there. So the husband is involved in it as well. I didn't think it was her on her own. Well, that's what she's been saying at her husband. Why does she think she has a right to have a problem? And other people have to save up don't pay. It's crazy. Alright, just go ahead and announce yourself. [Breathing] [Breathing] Hello. Anybody here? Hello. There's some stuff in there. [Breathing] A fork. What about this? Should I run this side? I'm just taking her personal stuff in it. Come on, come on. Come on, come on. Here's a look at this. They came prepared. Here's my sign on the floor. Here's from all walks. With the door handle. There's a baby button here. I think there's no baby in it. Well, I can't see one, can you? You know what? They protested dog songs. He even said "seem the end 30 days." But you antagonized that I would get arrested. There's our sheet. As you can see, if you want to take a picture of this, this is the sign and sheet. Look at the dates we're here. We have a crew to come and clean it. Make sure it's okay. I'm trying to ruin my f---ing life. You see a black woman all by herself and I'm the mastermind all of a sudden? Absolutely nothing about anything that we've done. We're trying to grab you. Had anything to do with race. What I tried to tell you is a front door. Go play with the front door right now and see if you can open it from the front. Stay. So, according to this, in order to use adverse possession, you must move into an otherwise neglected property and improve the property and the child can't be granted to you after a period of time. And it must be done in a physical manner so that it isn't conflict with the owner's right. None of what she does. I'm not going to cooperate. It's okay. It's going to do a quick patty, otherwise it's just for safety measures. Safety measures for what? You got f---ing belts and everything on you? How? Safety for what? You're going to look at me. You're going to be transported from one place to another. I don't care. Either way, like I said, I can just hold you here and I can just do a pat real quick. But either way, it's going to happen. Don't touch me. And then I have my own authority. I have my own authority. I'm a sovereign citizen, so just don't touch me. Well, we're going too. Don't touch me. You're going to walk right into the patty now. Do you know why it's just how easy it is? It will just. I don't know how big it is. If you fiddle me, I don't know what to do. Get on with me! Get on with me! Get on with me! Get the put on the wrap. Don't touch me, you piece of crap! Get the fuck away from me, it's you! It's broken! It's not broken. It's not broken. It's not. She's already gone out once. Oh, you slipped out of the sea for her! So right now, you're sitting here. And you could put these handcuffs behind your bank. I don't like you guys anymore. Like, I cannot hate you all. And I hope you guys can help your children. It's like, I don't like you guys. And I can't wait for sovereign citizens to just come through. And like. When that war begins, I can't wait. Don't talk to me. I'm an American. And I want to be the face of that war too. Hi, I'm Officer Espinosa, I'm with Arch County Animal Services. I'm gonna be taking your two dogs. Can you listen to me? Can you take the number? Okay, bye. Bye. Bye, ugly. That's why your skin sucks. Are you on behalf of them wanting to press charges for all this against her? I'll check with the asset manager. Can I get it back to you? Well, the entire point of what we're doing is that you gave us the impression you wanted to press charges. And if you're gonna come back and say no, we have to let her go. No, that's true. And they can always change their minds and have the charges drop later. But if you're on your. If you, being the representative, want to press charges on their behalf, they can change their minds. Otherwise, you can't say no and we can release her. Let me use the press. What do you think we should do then? I cannot give you legal advice. I mean, regardless, I'm gonna arrest her for the registration charges. Damage? Well, that's on you guys, that's what I'm saying. Even if they, if you don't know their firm answer right now, you are the representative. If you can say yes to right now, they change their minds. The state of attorney's office will be contacting them regardless and they will change their minds. Okay, put your hand behind your back, man. Break my wrist. You're not my authority. Break my wrist. I'm breaking my wrist. Break my arm, I'm breaking my heart. Break my heart. Put your hands on it. Come out. Come out. Let's just wait for the wrap. Okay. I said no, right? Oh, you're gonna. I said no, right? I'll follow them up. What's up? I'll follow them up. Get the fuck away from me. Man, we really need to stop resisting. Nope. Get all of you back, put her down. Now you have salt and butter on the police officer. Congratulations. Awesome. There you go. We're good there. We're good. When you have her ankles tightened up, pull her over to the grass. Yep. Now pull her over. We're good. Yeah. Roll on your back. All right, let me lift. Grab it. Get all of you back. Let me lift. Let me lift. There you go. Grab it. Grab it. Grab it. Grab it. You were doing this yourself. I don't care. You're hurting me. You're all of you. You can do this. I'm a human. Get all of you back. I was this vehicle. Get all of you back. I was this vehicle. Get all of you back. Get all of you back. Just in case, let me take that helmet. I don't know how she's going to react to this one. This suspect Ashley was charged with felony escape, felony resisting with violence, felony battery on a law enforcement officer, providing false identification for giving the wrong last name, threats to law enforcement, burglary of an unoccupied dwelling, felony threats to a public servant, larceny, and trespassing by adverse possession without notice. There are no records indicating she filed any lawsuits against the involved officers or the property owners. Court records indicate she pleaded not guilty, bonded out, and has since stopped showing up to court, and her bond has since been forfeited. She is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Now, Florida, it takes seven straight years of living on a property and paying the taxes before you could even try to make that claim. And this wasn't that. Not even close. You know, it gets people jammed up fast, confidence build on something they don't fully understand. Because when she's holding right there, adverse possession, that's not a free pass to take control of someone's house. But now we've got officers walking into a situation where someone truly believes they belong there, and that belief that's what makes it harder than it looks. As she gave them a fight the entire time, and those are all delay tactics, not to win, she just wanted to avoid losing. But here's the moment I want you to really lean in on. Around the 1147 mark, watch how she begins throwing threats around trying to pull the officers' attention toward her voice. While at the exact same time she's working her hands slipping through those cuffs. That's attention manipulation. Get officers focused on what they hear, so they miss what they should be seeing, but they didn't work. Some people don't escalate because they're actually confused. They escalate because somewhere along the way, they decided they're not leaving no matter the cost. But keep in mind, situations like this, they never fall apart because of what someone actually knows. They fall apart because of what someone thinks they know.
