Week 7 with maybe a must-win for the Dallas Cowboys against a light roster with the Eagles of Monday Night Football, which could transition to Houston's result. But there's a lot of stuff we want to do with Nate Tyson. Again, football 301, Yahoo Sports, Nate. I think the headliner is Seattle's dominant win against Kansas City's Sunday Night Football. A lot of bad offensive stats here for Kansas City, but this is maybe the most damning one historically. The first time in the Mahomes era, the chiefs without a red zone drive. All Seattle last night. All Seattle all the time. It was in all JSN all the time. I went into that, we career went to that game when we do our preview show. And you can kind of tell how juicy a matchup is, but how long the preview for each segment is. And usually it's about 20 minutes. I think we went over a half hour on that game and I'm like, I'm breaking down top offense, top defense, this stat, this stat. And then, oh, chiefs are going to do this to JSN. They're going to force other guys to beat him. No, they're not. JSN is just going to just go off and get targeted all over the map, get beat man sort of delaying who's a really good corner, by the way, like a future pro ball. The touchdown throw is a perfect throw, perfect route. He's, I mean, it has to be in that spot. So I don't have a problem with him on that one and one at all. That last night I even said this, that was like, if you want the epitome of what the NFL is and how like fucking good everybody is, that play, just show that play. The blitz, the chiefs bring the Seahawks picking it up, Darnold who people are saying he's down. He's this. He's quarterback 24 right now. The perfect up and down spiral, you know, just perfect arc on it, perfect ball placement. JSN gets it with one hand getting tied down by perfect coverage. And then it gets his feet down and gets the ball across the plane. And it was like, that's, that's an NFL play right there. It's like that right there is what the NFL is all about. But I went into this week and it's interesting. This is the respect JSN is getting. He is getting Randy Moss coverages, meaning he's getting cover two and cover six to his side or cloud to his side. That's cover two half of cover six. And what that means is because one's known as really respecting the Seahawks run game, which is another aspect of this. And another thing is to try and limit the routes that JSN can attack you with. You know, he's going to get the ball alive, but maybe we can limit the routes that he has available to him when we run cover two. And usually the offenses that get this are the ones with the elite receivers. Justin Jefferson has gotten this when he was in Minnesota. Devon Day Adams when he was with the Raiders got this a lot. The bangles get it a lot with T. Higgins and Chase. And it's the Randy Moss rules. That's where why cover two got popular in the 2000s. How do we stop number 84? But the Seahawks going into this week were getting the most cloud coverage on record. And I looked up this stat through 2015. I could look it up through coverage stats. They're getting the most. So JSN is getting as much respect as any receiver on record. And some of that is we're not scared of the run game yada yada, but it's very cool to see the chess match that happens. You see JSN in the slot a whole bunch. And the time that he was getting man coverage, it was automatic. We're going to him automatic, which is again, that fun chess match of defense is going. We want to play safe. We want to make out. There's people beat us. The Chiefs ran about two man last night, which is another variation of all that. But it's still JSN is going to get his and it impacts the game and all that. Yeah, this is one of those games and we'll get Seattle's defense here, which was outstanding as expected. But when you're looking at Seattle on third down, when it's 11 to 16, when coming in, they were 29th in the league and third down conversion. And it wasn't just going 11 to 16. It was that stretch of third and nine or longer where they felt like they were hitting every single one of them. And it also felt like it was the full pallet that it wasn't just JSN, like Cup had won on a route behind JSN. Donald had another big play. Converting those, because I think there's with that Chiefs offense, it's hard to say this. But like sometimes it's understood that we'll look at red zone touchdown percentage. We'll look at the turnover battle and be like, hey, there's your answer. That's how this happened. That's one of those absolutely unlikely scenarios, especially Seattle converting all of those third and longs where the Chiefs, like the offense is going to be the headline of like, hey, what's going on? Well, they're missing Thornton. Rice didn't play. They're out the right tackle. Simmons seems to be at left tackle. Like as you said this summer, he's awesome, but he's probably not a great bet. And so now you're down both tackles. So the offensive part of this thing is going to be the headline, but like this Chiefs defense, which we know, like the past rush part of it, you're going, is it really there? I hate to just focus on like the sack totals. And even in this game, like there was that drive where there's still up after the misfeelable 10. But I'm looking at it where I'm like, Donald has this has to be like a Donald drive. Like they need it. It's a need it drive, even though the score doesn't tell us that necessarily. But with the knocks on him, the late two-minute scenarios of him over 25 and 26, you see how bad those numbers are with him? And they put together this drive and actually you're not seeing like Spegnolo freak out because well, he probably is freaking out because they're not able to stop the foot. But instead of that very predictable Chiefs, Spegnolo, hey, we're dialing up all the pressure. And now we're going to try to wreck this game, the stuff that we've been saving. He couldn't even go to it. And that was like a fascinating part of how this game played out last night. It really was. And and also like the things that other defenses have been daring, Donald to do because you know, his hip is bothering him. You can tell is that he hasn't been scrambling as much, which is a little bit good. You know, hey, he's trying to win from the pocket. But also that's some of the appeal of Donald is some that creation, which some of his no, no, no, no, no. Okay, yes. But also just hey, use your legs a little bit. And what defense has been doing is we're going to play more man coverage against this team, focus on JSM, but play man because the quarterbacks not going to run. That's usually how you can get a defense out of man coverage, the quarterbacks scrambling because no eyes are on him. And you saw a couple of his creation moments last night. So even those moments were, you know, just a good sign of what's going on with that kind of see how ecosystem. But that's so true with the spack stuff in their defense was I really thought Brian Flurry was the first time play caller that off the coordinator for the sea, he had some really nice design moments, maybe that little miniby helped him out or they got the couple extra days, but they really had some nice design moments. The one that stood out to me was just moving JSM around into the slot in motion and kind of on and they did some running back motion stuff for they unraveled what the chiefs were wanting to do. I mentioned the two man thing. That's another thing was hey, Donald's not scrambling. Two man is another way to man again, two deep safeties everyone else is man across. We can get two eyes or two sets of eyes on JSN and still they were delivering. So again, spacks is change ups are just getting knocked out of the park. So I'm sure like you said, and then there's the the Dalingin dunked on at the end where I should at the end of the half, I should say is that hey, okay, now we can heat him up. Now we're going to knock him out of field go range. We got a great corner that can match up with them still getting beat with the stuff that's supposed to beat the see ox offense in theory. So yeah, they just kind of got played out of the game and the see hawks too is this was their formula last year is they won on early downs first and second down a lot of explosives lot of explosives passing especially they were horrible in third long last year 16.8% which was the second one actually the worst was the chiefs. on third and long last year meeting third and seven plus which was poor last year and this year they're actually delivering on third and long which you felt last night and which is a big difference of their formula this year but again it helps to have this type of ace at wider seaver that can dictate so much coverage wise dictate so much just how everybody has to play you want when you have to pass and you can see find the sea ox going like hey you know what what's just lean into it and which is target them all over the place to just keep cranking up that dial. I have some JSN thoughts but I want to ask you something I saw in next gen and that was the Kansas City coming in had led the NFL in yards per play 7.3 yards per play against any alignment defensively with five or more defensive backs and they played Nicola Dime last night Seattle on every single chief offensive snap. Is that the Nick Eman-Marie factor? Is that that you have like yeah sure he's a defensive back but to see him turn and run with worthy on that play okay but then also know what he does when he's asked to go up and support the line of scrimmage and everything else is that something where you're going okay cool that number for the chiefs is terrific but you you can't look at Seattle the same way when they have that kind of alignment. Yeah it's really they get to play base for DB looks but then use quote-unquote nickel so it's kind of like he warps like Travis Kelsey for years this is actually great equivalent is that yeah they're in 12 personnel two tight end looks but he's a receiver you know how they use them and move them that's a man worry for for the defense is that I mean he's more like Bruce Irving what the sea ox had how is they use him then he is like Cam Chancellor Earl Thomas you know and those kind of sea I just use the sea ox guys where he is more of a box defender and I don't mean than the bad way but it's just more like he is a a linebacker that is more moonlighting as a DB as opposed to the other way where Kyle Hamilton say is a safety that also because sometimes play like a linebacker it's the other way he's a linebacker it's really simple like that's a give every Seahawks game with even worry in it and like how many times have you ever seen him like facing everything in front of him it doesn't it doesn't feel that way with him ever it starts to the line of scrimmage yes and it feels like he's making the decision or going slightly behind right yes right yeah going I mean running down my homes on that play and and again that just if you want to knock where say word the chiefs are limited it's like that's the thing is when they go against these class defenses that have a lot of speed like my home scrambling against some you know the Raiders or something isn't as tough you know it's tough for going against the sea ox when you're quote unquote DB slash linebackers running him down and forcing a turnover off it as well so it's like there's a lot of team speed on that defense has to be mentioned second time this season that I've noticed darnal praise followed immediately by an interception all the time columns were jinx last night in an awful interception second down in the red zone I mean it's gold to go supposed to be beyond the red zone there's 20 seconds left you can't give away the points there and then it almost leads to three on the other side of buck or miss one of his two field goals it also happened in the chargers game they come Herbert throws a pick and then it's like all right let's see what donalds got here and like this guy want a super bowl right back right back with chargers trying to get it going he's coming back out there you know trying to get it all going I know it's unbelievable there is a bit of and I don't blame the broadcast for doing this because there was a studio moment yesterday that I caught I'm not going to say he said it because I like the person but it was like you know everybody's sitting here pictured about the Broncos but like look at the record you're like do you think Sean Peyton watches the film and goes who gives a shit we're five and two like this is absolutely yeah like if that that's what we're doing then let me know I'll take the Sundays off we'll just come here read the standings for you and go like this team is good and this team is bad that's it all right JSN we had talked about him before ongoing like all right how long's the list because I don't know that anybody ever wants to put anyone ahead of like Jefferson and Chase are you ready to do that with JSN I'm getting there he's at the very least on the podium meaning top three for me because just it's unbelievable I got to ask my my co-host last night Hayden Wink so he was like who's your mind you of and every guy I rattle off was like a hallfamer and I'm like I usually don't do that like I try to be very realistic about comparisons but I'm you know rattle off like Chris Carter and Isaac Bruce and Marvin Harrison senior and and these guys that were ultimate route runners but the very least what I'm saying is that he's on the podium you know for that top three and if not he's battling one as one C to their one A one B to me but he he's unbelievable so it got me thinking about his MVP odds all right and I I did a bit of a deep dive on this one by the way he's number one in reception yours right now with 8 67 a lavet is second at 636 so he's 200 more yards rack in a number two receiver right unbelievable you watch them you realize how important is it also like if we want to get to like the voting and the way voting works it would help that he has a quarterback that would never get MVP votes yeah yeah okay because you say hey he makes this yes exactly I'm sure you remember the last non quarterback to an MVP you know Adrian Peterson Adrian Peterson he should have won two MVP's that year as far as I'm concerned like it's one of my favorite MVP results because I think it's like the last time there's some ladenian stuff in there like yeah Peterson's the only non quarterback in the last 20 years to win it and then you actually had Sean Alexander win it in 05 with the Indian one in 06 but we don't we don't really do it anymore I mean I don't know how much history you want here a receiver has never won MVP correct okay we've had two defensive players win it Lawrence Taylor in 86 now in page is 71 yeah do you remember Mark Mosley the kicker for Washington in 1982 strike season so yeah he had a great year as a kicker but the feeling was is that the voters were so pissed at the NFL stars for having the strike different times better times different times back then where the voters were so mad people were so mad at the NFL players for striking it was like a normal thing you'd go like dads would go with their kids to yell at NFL players for striking when they got off the bus um oh yeah no my dad was part of the big man big part of the NFL PA he tells me about that he's like no one was happy it was like a good thing but everybody was against them then and it's it's just strange it's like hey you play sports fucking show up like yeah I want something to do on said no one ever cared like you realize you're rooting for owners yeah when then obviously everyone's oh it's billionaires and millionaires arguing well one of those starts with a B and you know that one of them has another one billionaires and millionaires back then no no no I think my dad's Rookie or Saurier is 25k worth every penny absolutely here I am so the the story goes that the voters voted for Mosley because they were mad at the I didn't know that I thought it was just voters being voters I guess it is I'm in that way Jerry Rice okay finished top three four times okay okay which is actually hard to do because you remember like the Russell Wilson campaign of like I don't know how many years ago that was I feel like it was 17 maybe yeah 17 or like you know Russell Wilson's never received an MVP vote and then you know you kind of sit there and go wow that seems crazy it's like so you don't know how the voting process works because it's just the voters and you pick one it's not five as an MVP voter for the NBA I have to pick five names baseball you pick 10 yeah and it was like a very classic like Russell Wilson and his camp behind the scenes this is 100% what happened where they were like let's get this messaging out there so that we build some momentum going in and you go okay the reason why you've never received a vote is bad as that senate sounds is because of the process of like how it works like no one would ever voted for you to be the MVP unless they fucked it up in any of this years and you've been in a hell of a quarterback but like you're not beating Brady this year not being Cam Newton that other year and all this different stuff so here's the point that I'm trying to make here is that JSN right now if I look at the draft King's odds for MVP the top 10 odds are all quarterbacks the first non-quarterback is Jemeer Gibbs the 11th best odds then his two more quarterbacks Dacquil Amar is not even playing um you have Kenneth Walker who was actually head of JSN this morning when I looked which is nuts then it's he J Stroud JSN is 16 at plus 7500 that seems absurd now he's present he's still probably not going to win it but there's no way he should be behind any other non-quarterback no absolutely not like and that's another thing too is like as good as those other guys are like we're saying the one like I said one C chase as Higgins and burrow as well you know that whole offense is more about the bangles offense as opposed to Jamar Chase is driving this even though he doesn't gather a lot of attention same with Jefferson that offense has been bottom five bottom six so far this year so there's no momentum swell for that like Jason is like like you say there I always say this might do him like the preseason predictions what is the narrative that you can build around these guys so everything you're illustrating here is exactly what you need you need a winning team it's already kind of prevalent as well so it's not kind of like a total surprise you need no quarterback credit you know I've never seen a Super Bowl MVP just everyone goes yeah we know what Darnold is like it's unbelievable like no one went like oh yeah he's top 10 now only a couple like you know C.O.X. bloggers maybe But it was just one of these things where everyone kind of knows where the credit, there's no offensive line dominance. You know, sometimes that can happen with the running back. It's like, well, the whole line is sick. So of course, you can't get it to run it back. And even that's why I like to bring up that nerd stat. How defenses are treating them? Is defenses are treating them like a dude? Like, and not just a dude, that's, oh, that's a high rate of cloud. What I'm bringing up is that defenses are focused on the gravity of JSN. And now the onus is on the C.O.X. coaches to like move him around to so he, yeah, yeah, he's always going to get his six to eight to 10 catches. But let's make it 14 or 12 and make sure that it's not just a couple routes. You know, the way to be covered too is like digs and whole shots in seven corners. So let's make him run the full route tree and he can't. He can go outside, he go inside, he has production and even underlying stats. Like I always like to look up is like he's since 2013. It's like, I look up per snap sometimes with these receiver stats, because then you could see how these guys are. Not just in run, first off, and says usage, all that stuff. But one step I really like is first downs per route run, because it's not just, you know, hey, some guys can finish with 15 catches and it's like for 92 yards. And it's like, okay, how much are you really doing there? First downs per route run, JSN right now is 192, just does it sound terrible? No, I know, but that's like an album, Camera, check down kind of artist kind of came. But he's right now, he's at 18.7% first downs per route run. Okay, was that mean that's first by any receiver since 2013. No one else is above 17.8, Tyree Kill in 2023 was at 17.8. There's only four above 17%. But he's a way more complete receiver than Tyree Kill was too on top of everything else. So it makes sense, like Hills numbers should be beyond JSN, because JSN is still catching the third and sixth, the intermediates on top of that. Say that number again, just so people understand. So we're 14 years since anyone's done this, yep, 18.7% first downs per route run. Second place is Tyree at 17.8%. And there's only really, there's only four above 16.2%. There's only nine guys above 15%. And you're looking at some all time seasons, Julio Jones in 2015. Michael Tom is 2019, Devante Ames in 21. There's a couple of Pukinacua seasons as well. But Tyree was kind of that first, those couple of years with the dolphins were kind of the epitome of rate stats. Yards per route runs another one. Three yards is usually the parameter of an elite season. And right now, JSN is at 3.77 yards per route run. The league average over that time period is 1.5. So he is, if you look at baseball stats, I love how they kind of like do the like plus 200, you know, just to look at how much it rates at like a 100 scale. Like he's doubling the average receiver over that time period. It defences playing to take him out of the game and limit all of this and no run game as well. And I like the auxiliary catchers that they have, you know, Cooper Cups, a nice role player, Yada Yada. But it's not like they have a Shaheed was out of the game. He didn't come back. He's out in the last game. RNG Barnard's a good player, but he's not exactly a true receiving threat, but he's more just a nice great blocker. I love Age of Barnard. But again, I'm listening up like guys that are threes at best in a normal offense and a good offense. Yeah. It's just unbelievable. He's doing right now. He's the dominance is unbelievable. I don't know if they're ever going to do it. You know, I'm in favor of like, hey, if you have like a college football 26 version of like the NFL quarterback, like what if you just have a bunch of quarterbacks where it's like, that's great, but it's like not outstanding. So instead of just giving it to one of them, like trying, but look, Miles Garrett, like the team wasn't any good. He has 23 success, you're hitting an MVP bow, Aaron Donald's never received an MVP bow. You would have to go into like, which year would you just decide to go ahead and get him a vote, but just the game itself, like nobody's actually more valuable than the guy back there making all the decisions with all the stuff inside of your offense. So we all understand all of that. But if you do not have a new story, if you do not have somebody who specifically is off the charts, statistically, if you have the Seahawks clenched this division and JSN stays on this kind of pace and is like 400 yards ahead of the second most yards for receiver, I'd like to see the voters maybe get a little spicy this year. That's all. That's all I want to say. Just sprinkle it a little bit. Just just sprinkle it a little bit. I mean, more voters. And if he gets no votes, he can get the Russell Wilson people together and be like, go into 27 and get all the people saying, like, can you believe he didn't even get a first place vote? And no one will look up how the voting process works. Yeah. That's great. I love that. I love that you're rebuilding that narrative too. Or that reverse narrative, I should say. That's great. And again, just looking like average, okay. Again, average over that time period was 7.6 percent for first ounce per rat run. He's at 18.7. And again, I'm just trying to like an average receiver. He's more than doubling their production. And even when you look at elite thresholds, he is topping that by a significant amount. So it's like boxcore stats, underlying nerd stats, and now narrative swell, not him. Right. And who is the second, third and fourth option, you know, on top of everything else? Right. Yeah. Because it's kind of like the Montana rice stuff. But yeah, rice is awesome. But Montana's one of the all-time greats. So he just wasn't going to get the votes. All right. I'm watching. Right, right. You get more credit for those teams. I look back. I've already watched a lot of those 80s YouTube on YouTube, 80s games on YouTube. And it's like one of those where it's like, rice was doing a lot for you guys. You know, there was a lot of law throws that rice is making it look really pretty. I just have to throw that out there. Sorry. I'm a big Steve Young guy. Anyways, you know, we're going to young Montana conversations. But that's the kind of the whole point on the Darnell part of it. Is that if anything, no one would ever be voting for him for MVP. And I'm not saying he's deserving of it, especially with like the first half, but they were great last night. Defensive. Great. And maybe a bit of like, you know, you're kind of in this point of the season. You're going, okay, is this a writing of the ship? Like does this mean something? Is this the worst law? So let's get to a bunch of the games here. I'm going to be honest. I don't usually get excited about loyalty programs. Yeah. They promise big rewards. And then it's like, you actually have to eat 48 pizzas to get one free. So when I heard about the Shell Fuel Rewards program, I was skeptical, shocking. I know me skeptical. But here's the thing. It's actually kind of a knowingly practical. You're already getting gas. You're already grabbing takeout. You're already buying snacks. You definitely didn't need, but absolutely deserve with Shell Fuel Rewards. You just get rewarded for that and not in a fake point you'll never use way. It's actual savings on gas and the part that got me, the savings stack. So it's not like one sad little discount. It's you fill up, you eat your shop and it all piles up into real savings at the pump. Joining takes less than three minutes in the Shell app and you'll save on every fill after that. Literally every single one. So if you want my wreck, join the Shell Fuel Rewards program and say Detroit Green Bay, anything is significant here for you? Oh, yeah. I thought this was a fun little scheme game, again, talking about this kind of my stick. But no, this is really cool. I thought Drew Petsing and the Lions did a really nice job coming out of the by-week and kind of playing on their own tendencies. And that's what kind of good coaching staffs do. How they used Amarase Brown. So Amarase Brown is what I call a power slot. Like he is a guy that usually half the time lines up in the slot is a great blocker can do some tight end dirty work as well. So those, I really like my power slots, but St. Brown's kind of the epitome of that. We talked about like top receivers the other day and I was like, Amarase, that kind of his own category of this. But it was really cool is that the Lions kind of played on their own tendencies of that because the Packers are really good against slot targets. Like any stat you looked at, they're first. They're first defending the slot, first in the EPA, first success rate, first in old school quarterback rating because Devon Bull or their slot players really good. And they do some cool scheme stuff under John the Ganon. So with, you know, sometimes I think fans like go, we want good on good. Why don't you have your best player against your best player all time? Oh, you're a coward for not doing that. No, what the NFL is is going, let's take my ace and go against your C or go against your C plus and just spam that button over and over. And the Packers C players or lesser players are their outside corners. So what the Lions did was, let's put Amarase Brown outside and he had 14 routes from out wide. Nine targets, seven catches, 109 yards. And this is a guy that primary lines up in the slot. He only had, what spamming thing you're talking about, you're talking primarily the offense matching up against the defense. The same thing that we saw in like the first half would, would you just need comes out of the game in the city because it's like, hey, we're going to keep pressing this button because I think people could hear that and be like, well, are you talking about corner assignments on receiver? You're talking strictly, hey, this is, we're, this is basketball's version of we are going to hunt your, your five man and bring him out here, right, all the time, hey, we're going to, hey, you guys are switching, okay, all right, we'll get this match up and just go, go, go, the, the first, his first catch is what kind of like the pit of me when I'm talking about is there's an out and up that goes for 20 something yards. And on that play, the Lions line up, you know, trips three by one. So Amarase in the slot, like, okay, that's what we expect. The Lions motioned outside receiver across. So Amarase ends up in or outside technically, even though he's kind of a condensed split. And then the Lions run like one of their staple concepts and it's called stick. Everybody runs stick. It's a little tied in five, six yard out route. And the outside receiver runs like a five, six yard out route. And on stick, I mean, everybody runs. Everybody runs it the lines. It looks exactly like that formation wise condensed split all that stuff They run it out and up against the outside corner on the Packers and the outside corner for the Packers is like oh my god Here comes stick. I'm gonna jump this shit You know, I can't wait here, and then boom so they played on their own tendency and on top of it They're hunting a matchup of outside corners for the Packers Brandon C. Say was another guy. He's a rookie corner. He's not bad South Carolina guy Everybody was down on these guys until the Cowboys game, which was a nationally televised game And you know, so their corners are good now like I know, but it was yeah It was yeah, right. I don't know that but it was it was that's why it was so incredibly impressive for a night Because commas were keeps saying it over and over again, too He's like man. He goes they're kind of like going at CD and Pickens and that's probably not supposed to happen with this person as it it would have been the same way Like the Cowboys were doing what they should do like hey. I'm going after these guys But I think the Lions saw that it's like hey, we can they're really aggressive That's what the Cowboys were getting stomped on was that they're sitting on the routes They're sitting on the routes because again, I want to credit again and Ganon's doing a really good job with the Packers Even but he's like okay, we're gonna this is what they like to do This is their tendency and the Cowboys tendency is those stop routes 10 to 12 yards stop and so what's a squat on them and then This is the I know what you know what I know what you know stuff, which is the best and football is Oh, you love running these stick routes. Okay, we're gonna hide it make it look exactly like that and we get the matchup we want So yeah, you're trying to throw away from Bollard the the slot player But also the safeties are very good like that the spine of the Packers defense is pretty good passing wise the linebackers and the Safety's and the slot player Bollard Evan Williams is a good safety as well. No McKinney all that stuff But that's the matchup you want to hunt and the the Lions knew it too and this is the last little stat I'll leave it at is In games that he I'm on Rossing Brown's run five or more routes from the outside this is from action stats It was his highest target share so 64.3% of time. He was running around outside. He was getting targeted on that So this was a deliberate choice by them to hunt this matchup over and over again against either corner and yeah It definitely worked. They had some other tenancy breakers too, but that was the one that really stood out to me All right, so this is like a messy game for a bunch of different reasons right three and nine in the red zone Which is not who Detroit is no there a terrific red zone touchdown percent of team this season green Bay is a terrible one They're 30th right so you could say hey one makes sense the other one doesn't Detroit does not turn the football over they have a fumble at the end of the first half and then to come right out There's an exchange fumble which golf took lane 4 you could also argue golf got away with a couple because a golf gets away with a lot of I don't know how to try I could track and watch every single snap, but They're not turning the football over. I feel like there's a few every now and then from golf for I'm like, oh man, and there's two Yeah, there's two of this game Loves interception I didn't have as much of a problem with it. I know it was double coverage It was they were backed way up. It was second and 21 third and 21 Second and 21 you could call it a drop. It was gonna be a tough catch So I wouldn't get on the receivers case of that one It was just nice. I'm sure for lines fans have branch back there to compete complete that play before we get to the fourth down No, let's just do the fourth down part of it and then I have like a quick lines question the fourth down decision for Detroit 1717 They are at their own 23 yard line and There is Well, there's over four minutes to go in the game. I don't have written down here somewhere Over four minutes to go Campbell goes for it third down. They ran a really crazy like I didn't think there's any chance like of all the things It would have to go on right timing wise and the throw to gives unless that was not what the first look was Which is probably my guess because it ended up over there fourth or on they get stuff in Green Bay has the football with four minutes to go You know inside 25 yards for Detroit. I didn't like it your thoughts I'm fine with it and even though it was a super aggressive because maybe I thought it was a game flow decision Where was like Campbell said hey if we yield points here then we're still getting the ball back with an offense that's starting to quick a little bit in the second half So I think that that's where I'm okay with it. You know the the Nexon Stats is whole in you know decisions model. They say it was a toss-up And also the one thing I will say is that it Nexon Stats because again they use a GPS on it They had it as fourth and two as the actual distance as opposed to fourth and one and sometimes that's because the center moves the ball So that's something I just thought was interesting on it. The Gibbs thing was a check down. It was a play action Had to right. Yeah, the packers guarded it great and the guy peels the packers guy edge peels on it But the other thing too is that You know Jameer Gibbs had some hard running yesterday like you he earned his key. Yes, he always does But he definitely did yesterday. Yeah, he was contacted before the line like negative 28 yards I think it was negative 24 yards before contact Yesterday, which was easily clear career low anyone that's ever had negative 20 yards before contact to running backs in Nexon Stats era. There's success rates 21% his was 48% We just speak to what he was doing with some bad looks But you see on that play gets blown up. I thought they could have better play call I thought Brady was on top of that saying this is a long developing run play You know, that's a lot of action that they're trying to do because it wasn't just they're pulling a guy But it wasn't just power, which is when you pull a guy and that's a quick hitter up the middle. It was a long pull meaning they were They were trying to they weren't trying to just get one there. They were trying to get 40 They were trying to do like a hey you guys are gonna try to stop our power run We're doing to do a long pull and get Gibbs on to the outside and trap your defense that's pinched up But the packers had a guy run from the end But I actually was fine with that decision and this is the thing with Dan Campbell because he has that kind of Biting kneecaps former player persona is he is a genius with clocking game management Like he is one of the best and everyone thinks it's just a question going for it on fork down and I'm just kind of like This is kind of who they are This is when they lost that 40 and I was gaming the playoffs and they kind of dance with the one that brought him always and I Respect that about Campbell even respect this decision again Some of it was the game for way. Hey, we have enough time if we guys stop here and force a feel go even if we allow a touchdown We're gonna have the ball last and we might want that in this game. Just watch the rest of that that drive for the Lions and Just see how confident that a whole team is and delivering in these situations Jamir gives new to go down Once the packers were let them trying to let them score team immediately knew to go down Which I thought was really really smart They're third and five they get everyone to jump off sides and usually when you get the guy to jump off sides It's just the little line kind of doing some the entire Lions team knew that they were trying to get the packers to jump off sides that are did they all dancing and gyrating and stuff, but so I think sometimes Everyone goes oh, he's aggressive because you know a former player and everything He's actually very very good at the game and clock management stuff and the whole Lions team plays with confidence in that So I'm fine with it. I know it's super aggressive and everything but really just speaks to the like Campbell I think what an excellent coach he is because I just how in tune this whole team is with those types of situations Yeah, that's a good point I was talking to sturdy about it last night, so I'm gonna give him credit because it's 453 when they're snapped in the ball and You know, this is not a 17 17 game because it's the turnovers if you look at the total yardage It's also the red zone stuff that we talked about where If the game were 35 35 or whatever I'm going like all right This makes a little bit more sense, but when you're talking about the clock manipulation you're going all right, so If they score You still probably feel really good about being able to move the football I just don't love like hey, they've got 17 And you're given a 20 plus yard feel here so just because like hey, they scored quick It's not as bad because now we have the ball like some of that stuff happens and I'll admit this This is where I can be wrong about this shit because I'm starting to put a lot of these decisions in the same basket And that's not fair. I watch Tennessee fuck it up against Cleveland. Okay. I Watched UCF instead of going up 2724 against number two BYU Decides now we'll go for it even though none of the other three plays have worked and it's like so it's that you're that scared of being up 2724 with BYU getting the football back with 140 left that you want to try to do something that hasn't looked good And it's still like even though your guys have been balling today like who fucking knows who knows what's gonna happen with this Walk away from the table like you know, you know, you know, you're on a heater. Let's walk away from the table shouldn't we right and now if you want to get to the results part of this UCF goes you mean the field goal that we try to kick after we force them out and then that whole 17-minute scenario and then and Campbell side of this is you go Yeah, by the way, they tip we tip the field goal like they didn't even score so we get off we get the win Nobody's gonna care about this later on I just think we've we've become so conditioned to go. Yeah, but here's what smart is that they score We have the ball back. Yeah, yeah, I'm like what happened like what happened where it's like yeah We're so far the other way free out that you're like So we're just okay. We're just okay We're giving them 23 yard field in a tie 17 game here like with no point do we want with their offensive line with the fact that like They have no run game whatsoever and yeah, it's like love and I think we all really liked your love Those of us that like appreciate what it is that he's doing right every single week, but I don't know I mean if you had a rank the NFC North teams. Oh God. I Think I was laughing thinking about it going like I don't know what to do every week I change every game probably like could once we get down to it and get into these like I always look at it's like all right playoff time which is like that's what I mean it's like yeah what just like an NBA playoffs everybody's hyper fixated the game plans are show hyper focused I don't trust the Vikings and their tendencies and Kyler and all that stuff that's going on right now I actually like the Bears the most because their defense at the very least like Dennis Allen can like we saw on Thursday night like he can kind of do that spacks thing where it's like hey I'm hyper focused in this game plan wait wait do you see this shit you know there's all these blitzes I'm about to bring so like I can at least talk myself into them you know I don't like I don't think it's a great defense but at least they can do some game plan stuff but no I I think it's the Bears but like the lines are every week I'm like the offense is to it do it right now like you have to do it and I'll do it too okay I would go I mean Vikings I probably go Bears lines Vikings then Packers because I just don't trust the Packers or line whatsoever especially if we came into to you know not crunchy time but yeah I would say Bears because O line Caleb how can Minnesota you you floored it with putting them forth and they're the only undefeated team I know with a I'm not gonna see no Ravens they were my just more betting than anything but they were my pick to win the FC North because I was like this is a fluke a year and I just trust their defense the most of any of these units but I really I when it comes down to playoffs always it's like how do you it's the whole line play and pass rush and for me it's like well the Bears offense with their line Caleb all that stuff they have so much juice on offense they could run the ball they can get explosives and then Allen does enough on the defense where it's like the Lions defense even though they got a good front like Alimic Dale and Aiden Hutchinson these dudes like the back and I still just don't trust it's like it's just I still don't trust especially when you get to play off time that's really what's doing it for me I know the Vikings are third even though I'm like the one that's like going like hey they're not that bad on offense they're like 27 28th and every stat if the Packers again this one everyone would have had a Troy last and Detroit might be first okay Detroit might be first Detroit is guilty they are victim I should say of bad first impression team because they have that weird game with the Saints which they could have lost the two-point conversion the Saints are terrible they have an ask kicking against the bills which wasn't ask kicking and then to their credit they did get back into that game but I kind of like look at the first 28th sometimes feel like hey that's kind of who you are and that was a game everybody was watching so those are their first two weeks and then their other nationality televised game is the Carolina game where that could have gone either way yeah I thought Bryce Young probably played the best game of his career on that night but then I'm like man if they'd pull that one out if they were five and one like how we'd be talking about the Lions like how fragile this week to week part of this whole thing could be and by the way Packers fans like I normally wouldn't say this to a fan base but if you want to hate the officials for the rest of the season go ahead because the two roughing the passers yesterday were terrible on top of the fact that now I think they lead the league with nine roughing the passers and the van nest one week one against Minnesota was so bad yes you know the Packers could have like a weird best win of the season in here if they had pulled that one off but then somebody be saying hey the backup was in and I feel like well is that worse or better than what you're doing at starter I'm gonna just go bears Minnesota Detroit Green Bay and I don't feel good about it other than I can't put the Vikings third because of like we're not we're not allowed to say the Ravens I think we can say the like the Bucks level of dominance maybe in '02 like this is yeah this is really really special what this defense is doing and again I know I do my little suplex differential stat and I get die backtrack this or you know whatever back logged it looked it up teams that make the final four you know conference championship game or the Super Bowl and the Super Bowl I should say they almost always have a positive differential I think there's only been four of this millennium that didn't right now the Vikings are first in that but they're 10th overall the bears are 12th the lines are 13 like so though and they're all positive so right now those teams but that just shows how close it is with these units right now Vikings are 10 bears 12 lines are 13th but again they're all above average good and everything so I mean in standings wise again nextion stats got a item again Vikings have a 89% chance to go to the playoffs bear 67 lines 73 and then the Packers who are saying 4th are 45% like all these teams are a coin flip or better to make the playoffs through seven weeks you're a little rough in the passer thing do you know how many the team that has second place how many they have I don't know who it is four half as much I appreciate Tom Brady going in on it I I was like thank you time I mean he was mad about the penalty on Saint Brown where I was kind of like shocked he didn't do the like yeah you know I don't really see it he just went in on it I was like yeah go Tom do what's do this but the intentional grounding he called out to which I that shouldn't have been called I didn't think actually like because I watched that back the side judge over there doesn't even notice Tucker craft next to him and he's the one that calls it's like he's right next to you he but I watched it back in all 22 because I just had to make sure he runs up to the you know the head up and he he's not even looking where craft is he's like yeah there's no one in the area it's like craft was two yards away from me how did you he just got tunnel vision of where the ball went on that as well and yeah I mean there's there I now that you point out the intentional grounding stuff I've become like such a hater on all of it like Burl had one that should have been the most easy intentional grounding call ever and they like there was not even a discussion about it and there's just oh yeah yeah it's fine there was nobody within 15 yards of this one throughout right and then there was another one on the sideline where it was just an overthrow in a route where I think it was on Saturday in the in the college receiver you off the route and so the throw was where the route was intended and they gave him intentional grounding and so you're like so you're giving him one on this where we could and then this other bullshit where's in the heels of some guy because he's outside of the pocket it's certainly fine so that that rule has lost its way it's a bit like to travel right now in the NBA the NBA travel thing is really simple when you go to the food court and there are free samples everybody knows the deal yeah that's it everybody knows the deal yeah and then if there's one guy that decides well technically it says free samples and I took pre-law until I switched to political science and I am by law it says free samples it says no limitations I'm gonna do this I'm like cool guess what ends free samples because fuck it up guy showed up to the food court today just like Lamella on that three-point iron opening hey I get my wolf sweatshirt on man you got you got washer right now so I knew that's where you're going with that I knew that's where there's Lamella he's the guy that takes too many free samples and rollie bullies out of business Beelma always had a great line abuse leads to restrictions and it's something that's always stuck who said that Beelma great Beelma when he was my head coach Wisconsin you'd always say that about just usually it's about the whole line probably with food but it was abuse leads to restrictions and I always just thought that was great that is great um I still have more stuff but I'm not going to use all of it here remaining strength the schedule NFL ranks Minnesota's toughest third toughest Chicago fourth toughest Detroit eighth toughest Green Bay obviously they play each other all of those teams so that factors into quite a bit so it may not even be all that relevant let's just do a little bit on Minnesota here because I'm going to admit two things that um that happened over the over the weekend as I was digging through some more of the Minnesota stuff um and sando you know who we'd like to reference here on the pod quite a bit you know he does his picks six on Monday and you start putting your perspective like how bad is this Minnesota offense and how have the other teams that have had an offense this bad how have they done in the Super Bowl and if you go EPA expected points out of right per play I think it was the number he was using on that EPA it's like teams that are 25th or worse like what happens to you well you can go to him paint manning's broncos in 15 and say that this is doable um the Ravens the all-time standard of defense in the history of this league was they were 24th Tampa's in 02 was 23rd so Minnesota's 29 um and before this game against the Colts like I keep expecting Minnesota to lose one of these games against the bad football team so the fact that this was like kind of a game a little bit like this is going to happen uh you could argue Kyler is getting better but that's because the start was so atrocious that any thing that looks like slightly below averages and improvement um I was kind of like man should they just trade for Daniel Jones and then Daniel Jones throws that pick on first down to seal this one were Ross Tucker's like was nice about it oh I I thought Ross went in on the proper amount I thought it was the per his I don't know what he saw it was a nice way of going what the fuck are you doing yeah the both defenders are flat footed the route is surrounded there is no route no there it was just it was just a gap oh that's a tight window you can throw them open it was like no the guy was sandwiched like an Oreo like he was just squeezed by two Vikings defenders I know I once they showed the spider cam view like that you know the overhead view I would I laughed I know throw like no there's no throw there just nine I mean shout out to the back up quarterback is going to be available too you know Anthony Richardson he he had a normal week too he's yeah right and shout out to Harrison Smith's brother um so maybe not Daniel Jones maybe Daniel Jones is not the yeah it's the way to solve your problems but I didn't realize Groot had said it what's wrong with trading for curve cousins. Oh, I'm just gonna. Yeah, I know, right. Yeah, what was the offense? Easy. Exactly. Like normally you could never do something like Hey, we've got this great defense and like can we trade for a new quarterback and then do what? Terminology all the stuff we're gonna be on like the we're gonna be in the prologue of our playbook with this guy Like we can't actually do that or maybe it's a little overstated and guys figure out stuff And we're like hey hand signals. Here's our eight fucking plays. It can't be as bad as it's been No, you're shaking your head. Okay, but I'm just the NFL has a bit of a way of like protecting How genius all you fucking guys are with the playbook the term on and nobody could like nobody ever wanted to do Anything of the trade deadline because it's like no receiver could ever figure out what we're doing We're like there's three fucking routes take so we go. Yeah, it's shut up. So anyway that rants over Cousins because of I don't know. I mean is this and by the way There's another thing that I think is positive is that cousin's even though he leads the NFL in touchdowns I don't know if you knew that leads the NFL in touchdowns right now. I think he's 21st in QBR So you know both sides of the story different narratives just like Ryan Whitney um Is this even possible because then you'd also allow him in those of the play which has to happen at some point this year I think is more realistic than others because of just now. He just oh quote unquote knows the offense He literally does because it's the same head coach he had and it's the same terminology It's funny. You say that about like the coaching thing too is that when we were prepped for like a Thursday night game And you see how quick coaches get their game plans in for a Thursday night game And they realized that they don't have to be their entire days Be away from their families for entire days and it's like oh maybe just a little push into the other way It was like during covert too. It was like all the coaches like I realized you know how important family is that I can work from home and do all this and it's like as soon as they went away It was like oh yeah, I'm back in the office for 18 hours a day No, but I do think it's more possible with cousins going to koc's offense than it would be for a normal quarterback to transition all that But also koc has the some background in the like Vikings fans just hate him right now They're undefeated um is that he does that it's so funny No, but even though he does have the background of getting guys ready to play quickly You know, he had the the patent dobs coming in and playing and starting and actually doing okay Cousins is playing better than that cousins. That's kind of a rediscovered some aggression Even though they had some limitations. By the way cousins The beginning of the year, you know a little bit like this Aaron Rodgers thing that they're getting better They're starting to figure some stuff out. I didn't know if Aaron Rodgers are gonna survive this season I think in a way you almost have to throw that new England result out and go hey It's I'm not telling you it's awesome, but that was the low they're making it's better since that yeah cousins at the start of the season Nate I'm going dude It feels like he is putting everything into a ten-yard throw. Yeah, this this looks like a kid who like the first time he's touching The grown-up basketball, you know, like hey you put this little one away here's the big one and it is gonna be from the shoelaces up Whatever it is about cousins limitations physically He has I'm not telling it's great, but like he has figured out how to adapt his game to what has now happened through multiple injuries and a guy who You know look I've never been the biggest cousins guy. I always thought he was like the classic third and seven the balls going to four yards And then we'll see what happens I thought he was always the king of like the touchdown drive when you were down 10 at the end of the game And then you look at it. It's like hey yesterday actually 28 or 42 287 Two touchdowns clean sheet on the other side doesn't throw a pick because he's not gonna throw those contestants Then he had a season with Minnesota where he was getting his ass absolutely handed to him and he was fantastic And it it changed me going like hey, you got to give this guy a little bit more credit of like what a gamer He is he's probably a better teammate than we lose his back of Washington He was younger was kind of threatened in all these different directions for the QB room and everything was happening I feel like he's adapted to his limitations and at least that's what you're seeing with Vegas Yeah, and he got challenged a little bit by Kubiak who said like they're like hey, how do you like push the flora? How do you create explosives and whatever and he's like well, we got pushed the football and that next week There's cousin the thing about cousins - he's always thrown even though he's never had a big arm He throws a great deep ball like he note like you said knows his limitations So he gets that ball out. It's very Chad pennington now. Well Chad pennington post showing surgery Whereas like hey, I know I want to get throw 45 yards But I'm getting that ball up and out and it's getting that perfect arc and Little bit down there. Yep. Just throw it the space and yeah might be up there for a second, but it's getting there Trey Tucker is literally one of the fastest players in football and he's still getting out in front of Trey Tucker So he can get out in front of Justin Jefferson and Addison those guys So it's one of these where I usually be like oh yeah, that's fancy booking whatever But that's one where I do like if there's more of a possibility there Then I would think with other teams just because of Mendoza on the bench the familiarity with the offense He's playing like like he's not done like it's actually there's a little gas left in the tank And the things with Kyler right now is his appeal is he throws a nice deep ball and the scrambling But some of the scrambling is because he's not throwing the intent when he needs to get a big scrambling Yes, he also had one where I thought he was gonna die He got caught It was like a bunch of kids in the backyard running around and then the kid like turns around and an uncle just swallows him up Because he just didn't see it and expect the uncle to go for big a physical there And this defense is so special. They're so special. They blitzed on 89% of the drop back to the cult I think they did it to see like can we do a hundred? Can we just do a hundred one day just to see what happens because they're not beating us I feel like It's a waste. I feel like it's a waste and I would I know hey cool trade market quarterbacks middle of a season This is not the way teams do this thing, but you have a rare opportunity with cousins being there with account that I would And you know we can talk about price, but Vegas at some point has to play Mendoza Mendoza will only be better in 27 by playing at some point in 26 Yeah, I think and it's been Where you looked at the like the last five weeks. I think for the Raiders put after their buy they have a later buy So that was like it was like a perfect landing spot But let's just push it up a couple weeks now you've lost some games. They're doing some cool stuff I'm very excited for the Raiders in 2027 So you know they're well coached, but they just don't have all the horses they need But at least with your number one overall pick get those reps because I think they're invaluable Like it just get up to game speed even in those the blow out the Patriots with the Raiders to yeah with the Raiders too It was nice to see Mendoza like operating and he was operating really well The bulls out you could see that again you get kind of used to the the throw power of some of these guys And they go from cousins to Mendoza and you're like oh there Those are a little bit more line driving than the little rainbow arcs on those out routes that you guys are dialing up So it's like yeah, there's a little bit more juice there So I would usually laugh at this midseason quarterback trade But if this is this is one avenue that actually does make sense even if there's a small chance of it happening like more than others because of film and Oh, yeah, Mendoza all that good stuff Uh I think we have to talk Michael Penex. Okay The fight and Tommy Reese is down in the line. Oh, I was just gonna say Tommy Reese. It was it Tommy Reese skined himself some head coaching interviews after this Hey, look, I know Browns fans were like what's this wonderkin Tommy Reese. It's like well It's Sabin calls you to be like do you want to call plays here in Tuscaloosa? You're probably doing something right So Reese could have gone to LSU, you know could have gone to well, he stated a Notre Dame could have gone to LSU Then it's like well once Goldman Sachs calls you down there in Tuscaloosa. You go Stefansky loves him clearly Let's just say the quarterback situation wasn't ideal last year So fancy ends up in Atlanta and it's like hey, we're making sure to bring Tommy Reese. This Atlanta team It's very funny like the stories of an NFL season is they have this disaster start because they're gonna play Cooper Rush and then they do the hybrid with your boy jack strand, which again very early. So I'm not I'm not like Marking your report card for a half of jack strand football. I started. Hey, I think that's a win. He started me That's a win Panics goes out on one of the other games two of comes in first throw the announcer's like you know that so let's not forget This guy put up some numbers next play. It's like the typical to a interception The funny thing about Atlanta story is how it relates to green Bay story is that when they kick green Bay's ass No one went hey, maybe Atlanta is good with some of this personnel that I think there's like 10 guys on this team I really like. Yeah, okay Yes, but then it all comes back around penics. I think what they did with him yesterday is like They're they're really creative because of his lack of mobility. It's almost like different platforms get the ball out really quick You know changing like the side where you think this is setting up and instead of like a seven step It's actually a quick three step and then turn back the other way They're doing a lot of stuff from snap to release Then I think is really impressive and in a moment where it felt like the Niners even with their limitations with Debo And Evans being out of this game McCaffrey having to leave at some point like I've gone all right What's going on here that party picked the baits like turns this game entirely around and penics and Atlanta hands the Niners the first loss They I think that's you know great observations of all of it because penics to me, you know, he's kind of like a catapult I even compared him when he was coming out college. It's like there's a lot of fire and left witch here where he needs a big platform He wants a big long release big arm, but he needs a platform to launch it So you just got to take a second to get that catapult going and they went with a bunch of quick hitters yesterday Like so what you're mentioning. Hey, you're expecting these deep drop back And also knows quick game five step drop X is supposed to seven and sure enough it was it beared out in stats like he had On one play too. Yeah, it's like oh here we go. You almost treat him like you really do like yeah It's like a 38-year-old quarterback with a big arm still like the arm is still there But you're moving around like old Dan Marino like you know, there's a lot of top 10 numbers in there It's his underlying stuff is not bad, but the the under two and a half seconds Well, you know, that's the cutoff for next-gen stats. He had 18 passes under two and a half seconds Which I think is the highest of his career easily only got Yeah, the other thing too is that he can struggle with a little pressure in those tight pockets He needs that big platform only got pressured six times because again, hey, let's get the ball out Under he had he had 27 throws of under 10 areas again. This is big arm pennies He's throwing nickel and diamond, which again, I think was more conducive for what they wanted to do against his Foreign areas defense, but on those throws 24-27 192 yards two touchdowns. He only had one completion of over 10 areas He won't one for five and I can talk about the designs two of that Because I thought it was pretty cool what the Falcons did there. So I'm glad you shout out Tommy Reese already Bill Calland the O'Line coach They got a good coaching staff Jeff Olberg the defense coroner is really good But they they they attacked it seemed that they had it if you notice like the genre I'm saying a couple times caught some flat routes and turn them into some nice gains and On those it was they did some motion stuff. They were really attacking Jack Jones the corner and you would think oh You're attacking Jack Jones by having Drake London dunk on him or somebody dunk on him It was like no, they were attacking his communication because they were doing these motions getting into like a little tight stacks And he was just botching so then the flat route was running wide open because that was he was supposed to fall off into those areas And so I was like they were they knew what they're attacking in this game plan. So get the ball out quick Get it to the flats. He went seven of seven for 55 yards on flat routes That's you're never gonna see seven of seven for 55. It's usually like five of seven for 22 You know, so it was just they had a way to attack this defense and I thought it was really good And I'll just talk about the one pass the one of ten or more areas was the touchdown of Drake London and on that It was just a nice little again. I know your tendencies. I know your personnel first in ten They come out with twelve two tight ends the 49ers match with base four DB's three linebackers What the byproduct of that is is that when teams are in base. They spot drop zone They teams do not run match coverages out of base personnel They run those match coverages coverages when they're in sup nickel and dime. That's why the sea ox want to live You know in nickel. That's why the Ravens want to live in nickel. They want to run a lot of match coverages So because of that they get into empty it gets Drake landed in the slot. Drake Green law is just spot drop He just runs to the flat as opposed to carrying Drake when you're not gonna have a linebacker carry a slot receiver Just runs to the flat and it's just a great little Formation and personnel manipulation that they did there and penics though What I thought was so cool was he stares on that drake made through a pick on this on Thursday night two seam routes You're trying to play eyes with that deep safety against single high where you like hey I'm looking at the seam route right here, which was Kyle pits safety. I think it was Mustafa like Seattle's punter Yeah, I got they highlight that guy Dixon's got some cool the punters right now are actually insane, too But uh, yeah, you're just playing with eyes and he he stares down pits So you think oh got Mustafa things is gonna jump it then he comes back. There was a perfect timing hits a London for a touchdown So they kind of they knew what they're doing in this game And I thought it was really really just those are base concepts just running forverts out of empty But how they got there was some nice little window dressing and how that was one of the most complete games panic I had and I think he was just in tune with that kind of game point that they've tried it out there Another little quick note here on Atlanta they blitz like crazy last year. They don't blitz now There are two first round picks James pierce suspended and you'll on Walker So this is you're talking like the 15th and 26 picks pierce went 26 because of the off-field issues Which he immediately confirmed this off season? Walker towards ACL is one of my favorite players in college football when he was at Georgia, okay? I know my kill went higher. I like Walker more and Yet their pass rush win rate is top five their runstop win rate is number two in the NFL So they're getting pass rush wins all day on Sunday against everybody this season they're shutting down the run and they're two first round investments aren't even playing so far this season and You know looks at area Smith's had an awesome career So he leads a team in sacks, but when you're looking for like the names out there you got to like I mean, it's great. I love to see Harold Perkins running around He looked like a top 10 pick at LSU until well look he blew out his knee got hurt a bunch of times There also was a slight Perkins correction on Saturday's really so what the fuck is this guy's story? He's really small and he's just faster and he runs past all of our tackles. Yeah, so Maybe we should just pay more attention to the single digit edge guy that was a big time recruit because he's running past Speaking LSU dudes Mason Smith has been good for Atlanta Perkins has had 10 tackle game a nine tackle game Mason Smith for LSU fans will probably tell you like that didn't really go the way it was supposed to go I don't know if what you remember from his draft tape, but They have without the two guys that are supposed to be doing this they're doing it. Yeah, and that is Incredible to as you point out like to fancy on down to both coordinators here Like Atlanta even the Baltimore game. I was kind of like I'm not sure like I'm not sure about this team and I don't know like I just hope Pennick stays healthy, which is asking a lot because I think it's been like forever since he played six games in a row or something Yeah, that can't be true Washington. He played the full season. He played full season. Yeah, I mean, yeah, that wasn't even getting hit in those That's a line either. Yeah, well, there's some weird like he missed the game in there. I'll look it up right now in the fly No, but over and like the Kendall Daniels pick was like a pit of me of like what Olberg's doing because I you again This actually we're talking about the Indiana stuff where they don't quote unquote It's a lot, but this is the simulated and creeper stuff because he that's why the Perkins Reep talk. There we go. Yeah, a creep talk Yeah, I always hit me up about the creep talk, but it the guys like Perkins these tweeners They fit and these types of defense is better than they wouldn't a normal with the with the 49ers run, which is very Structured for three or we're going to 425 nickel lot of zone not a lot of they do some stuff on passing down But Olberg because he kind of knows again. Sometimes when you have limitations you end up doing the cooler things and Again, he kind of knows this. They have a very smart DB room as well. Jesse Bates. Xavier Watts is a good player AJ Trell when he's out there as a good player as well. Yeah, he just came back also, but the front seven He likes these kind of like like that's what we Jalen walkers a great fit Miss defense when he is healthy because what is he was he a linebacker? He's an edge. Where do you line him up everywhere? You just line him up everywhere and this defense can take make the most of it So they're getting caught you can water them up run game wise a little bit But they are so chaotic that they can kind of get there as if the game scripts. Okay, and like you felt that in this game I pretty was pressured like a decent amount for how much like usually the foreigners that do a good job with that But who's getting heated up quite a bit and I again, I thought the Falcons just had a great game plan on both sides of the ball In today's New York nobody carries cash anymore, but Harry layman still makes a living the old-fashioned way John Tetero stars in the only living pickpocket in New York as a legendary thief who refuses to change with the times Harry survives on charm Instinct and decades of streets marks But when an unexpected score lands him in possession of something far more valuable than a wallet He suddenly finds himself running from dangerous criminals determined to get it back Critics are raving with the daily beast calling it a perfect crime film variety praising Tetero's performance as A towering work and the Los Angeles times declaring it instantly classic Also starring jincarolo espasito tatiana mislani will price and Steve Bishemi the only living pickpocket in New York is a thrilling funny and unmistakably New York story about survival in a city that's changing faster than ever Opens October 23rd in New York in Los Angeles nationwide October 30th Is Houston's loss at home considering what they were trying to do? Turn this momentum around is that the worst loss for any team this season losing to the giants adjacent McCarthy? Might yeah, maybe it's just because it's like confirmation of disappointment with their defense like I think it was just like really This is this I'm way on the wave away burrow and Josh Allen and DAC and Trevor Lawrence that off Jaguar's offense, but Carthy, you know and the giants who did he look good Yesterday Good-ish and then that it started the the second half you started to turn into it back into a pumpkin a little bit. It was like 11 58 And then you know 11 59 and then and then the didn't matter. They just ran the ball And it didn't matter. They just ran the ball and over time to get you ended up in the score But those last couple drives started to fall off But the thing that was encouraging to me was that the ball was coming out on time Again, that's the issues. I talked about this a little bit before is that Watch McCarthy especially when he throws the left his mechanics come unraveled Because he just like he overstries and that's where the ball sprays, but his best throws he had one to To then it have to neighbors Where he hits the corner route and I think about I think a little bit of that was the pressure got into to his grill so he couldn't over stride. So his physics changed and he ended up throwing a very accurate ball. But I would say, this is what you asked me last week, 'cause like when she started him over Winston, like James and all that. I was like, this is why, is 'cause at least he does shit. You know, as opposed to just like throwing wobbly balls late and not creating, at least he's trying. And at least throwing those. And yeah, some of them are gonna be scatter shot, but when he's playing decisively like this, it looks pretty good. I'm gonna say there's gonna be tougher matchups than this, which is funny to say, 'cause they just play the test against defense. That's really what we're doing here. I can't believe you just said that. There will be tougher matchups. 'Cause this is a Houston defense that, now look, I know we both love Petri, okay? But what was interesting is that Lasters had such a bad year that they moved him into the slot, into Petri role, and they brought in their third corner who then he was targeted. So the stigma part of this doesn't matter. They're missing tackles. There's a stat out there of like 10 plus yard plays, like based on mistackles. So it's not just an explosive, but it's like how many 10 yard plays are you allowing because of the way we look at mistackles? I don't know if that scatter booth thing counts as a mistackle. Like that's also the scatter booth factor who apparently is back in the good graces of the Giants after being put on the shelf as you pointed out. Do you like, hey, do you notice? He also has gloves on now again. So I don't know if there's a Ryan Coleman Williams thing, week to week, like let's explain the gloves. But Houston has 19 plays of like these mistackle, 10 plus yard plays. They only had 25 last season. So like we both love Petri a ton and you can move some stuff around. But like, I don't know. Then I look at their schedule. Here's the next seven games, although it was supposed to start here with the Giants. Now it's Chargers, Cleveland, Colts, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Washington, like we were sitting here going and they're going to go 4-0. They're going to go 4-0. After they beat the Giants, I was like, they got the hard part out. Now we'll look at this next month. Even fucking wrote 2,500 words on this. So you guys making me look bad, you're 10 point favorites. You must be really. No, what do you think it's the worst loss? No, I do. To be fair, I focused on the offense 'cause the passing game and everything. But I always harp on explosives, explosives, explosives. Stroud and Jay-Jim McCarthy finished for the exact same success rate, 33.3%, which is not good. But McCarthy had double the explosives in the passing game. And that's where he filled that difference in the passing game. He had nine pass plays of 20 or more yards through three quarters this season. So the Saints' fourth and then the first half. Just chuck it, baby. Hey, is that the thing? If you're going to be scatter shot, like, but apparently with panics, it's like that's the opposite of it. Maybe we do go underneath throws. But I had a similar set of the explosives from Miss Taccles. Like last year, they were seventh lowest this year. They're fifth highest. And the other one that stood out to me was because they placed so much zone, and usually the benefit of the zone is you get so many eyeballs on the football. Hey, whether like guy catches the ball, hey, we get swarm tackle, swarm tackle, run game wise. Hey, we're not man coverage with our eyes back 'cause we're so focused on our coverage assignment. Was depth of first tackle. So when that first opportunity comes to make a tackle, the previous three years, it was 4.1 yards, which was fifth lowest in the NFL in a good way. This year, it's 10th highest. And that's where I really feel the difference is, they're not creating the defensive explosives, the turnovers, the TFLs, the sacs. Like, we understand what get his, but it's like, you feel a little habs where you're not feeling that pass rush that should just wipe teams out of games. Like the Giants, I've had some, I mean, I actually like while they're off in slimy, but they've had issues past protecting a little bit. Do you even feel that? To me, you didn't maybe in the fourth quarter, but not for the first two and a half quarters. I think it's third and short, at least in that game. Like, they're, I don't know what the numbers are and like, what's the success rate and first and second down, but like, there's some times in the Texans where I'm like, dude, it's not a personal thing with the guys in the edge. It's just like, if it's not third and long, but that's the whole point you have those fucking guys. Yes. But if you're losing on early downs, then we can't do our cool stuff. I know, no, the short yard stuff. They suck. Not offensively, they suck in short yards. They had a terrible sequence. Third and one, fall start. Then at a gram, the right guard who's an idiot, he jumps off sides on the freaking, which was like, it's the most damning thing for an offensive lineman there. But defensively, they stink in short yards, which you felt yesterday. But they've allowed short yards to find as one and two years ago, third and fourth down. They've allowed 18 of 23 run plays to succeed in those situations this year. It's the highest rate in the NFL. 78.3%. It's again, so to your point. If you can't, there's like 65% I think on one or two. Yeah, it's usually about two thirds. Yeah, and so that number on that for somebody else. Oh, okay. But now it's, but you feel that Texan's team is like, they're not creating explosives on the defense side. Last year is getting down, down again. And it just, yeah, they're trying, they're trying to press different buttons. Oh, Domingo Rines, I'm gonna take over play calling duty. Oh, I got this. Look at this schedule where there's no teeth right now with this defense. Quick hitters. Unrelated cowboys getting things. This will be the worst loss of the season if the cowboys don't be Philadelphia. Look at the inactive list for Philadelphia right now. Okay, especially with what's going on. Like I always try to find like these games you go, hey, they kind of need this. They need this more than the opponent does. If there was a foolproof plan that everybody subscribed to, but I still like believe that as I just love competitors, you know, and you go like real competitors, you cannot match. It's what I talk about in the NBA playoffs all the time, is that you cannot be as desperate being up to one of the best of seven series as a team that's down to two. You'll say the right things are coming out of the tunnel, say all the right shit. It doesn't matter. You cannot simulate how they feel being down to two. And that is if the teams are close. Like I'll pick that team in game three. All right, so this has nothing to do with any of that. It does have something to do with the cowboys. I think their team doctor wearing a cowboy hat in the sideline is the coolest fucking thing ever. And I don't care if the cowboys doctor in the future's named jug dish, Dr. jug dish. I just always should be a rule. Once you become team doctor, you have to wear this hat. - That's like that's the ceremony. You pass the hat on to the next set. The Giants had their old, remember they had that trainer. That was like 92 years old and like hurting everybody. Like so it was like, they have to ease, maybe. Eagles got dumb. You know, who's Washington, you know, they used to have Dan Snyder or whatever he was doing. So, you know, they all had their little mascots on the side. So I actually I like to want to know his notes. Yeah, yeah, they just look so cool. If I found out that he wasn't cool, don't ever tell me, don't tell me that the cowboys team doctor actually in fact is not cool because he looks like the coolest motherfucker out there. And I think it should be mandatory that whoever the team doctor is. Like you have to wear this. I like that hat. I like that. I know they also the head coach would be like, dress like Tom Langerie. You know, that should be the other thing that they should have for the cowboys. It would bump Phillips because of his cowboy hat. Wouldn't wear a headset. Oh, that's right. Oh, I actually didn't know that. I actually didn't know that that was because the headset stuff or because that's why. I thought it was just because he wasn't really coaching up ball. He was just, I love bomb. But, you know, it was a big personality at that point. So I actually made a reference to those old school teams because I was talking about the Texans and their passing game. And I was like, oh, you know, it's like, it's almost like a love you blue. But there's really more of running shoot, Warren Moon, Oilers, Offences that they're trying to do right now. They're trying to do an imitation. So I don't know if that counts. I don't, I feel like I didn't appreciate it enough. I mean, I understand I was young as a kid. But when you really think of like what coaching personalities were like back then, it was almost like a brand. Like in this day and age where everything is a brand, but yet it's so corporate that it's actually like neutralized a little bit. Nobody wants to say anything interesting. I did think it was funny when they asked me and Campbell why it went for him for it down. He was like, 'cause I thought we'd get it. Okay. No, no, no, no, no, no, follow ups. Um, I hear your bump films to my wife, because she was talking about what coaches were on the sideline. I was like, oh, hold on. I was like, hold on one sec. Did literally two weeks ago. And I was like, hold on one sec. Give me a sec. I pulled up bump. So I was like, check out the way they used to wear on the sideline. And she's like, she's like, coaches used to dress like that. I was like, oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. At least, you know, some of some personalities at least did. You wouldn't wear the hat indoors. Didn't know how good we had it. Wouldn't wear the hat indoors, though. 'Cause he said, mama, you don't wear the hats indoors. And they played at the astradome. So if you ever noticed that, bump films didn't have the cowboy hat on indoors. That was one little thing. The doctor does for the cowboys, though, he wears his hat on indoors. Maybe she learns I'm from bummed a little bit of manners. As I'm wearing the hat on, as I do every podcast. Do you got one? Oh, yeah. Bucks defense. We talk about the Vikings defense, the Seahawks defense. We have a podium. It's the Bucks defense, which-- Those are the three best defenses in the NFL right now. Yes. And I would say I test now. We have enough out there. I test where I can see this against different varieties, data points, stat-wise, EPA per play. They're third. And it's like, now, even Vikings are-- and then Seahawks are, you know, kind of up there. And the Bucks are very, very close, you look at EPA, all that stuff. But they have-- you know, Todd Bowles's defense is extremely funky. And with-- why I'm saying that is because it's kind of fun when he kind of has an island of misfit toys up front. And it's fun. So VitaVay, of course, is the key cog. And they'll drop him back into coverage sometimes, which is, you know, the ninth wonder of the world. But guys like Colligia can't see-- he really is. they did it on, they won the sacs out and we just drop it out. - This is like the collage of kids. - The school route the other day, or yesterday, yeah. - Yeah, oh man, he was fine in space. Again, awareness. - Is it down in the zone? - Yeah, even James and Williams is like on the route and I'm like, "What are you doing?" Like, I know, 'cause they were like too close to each other at one point in your school. - It's like, what are you doing over here? - It actually captured the defender too, like the defender was squeezed on them. But now Vita Vaya, it's kind of the epitome of that, but then collage of Kancey, another guy, like, you know, just, he's a weirdly shaped player, you know, the undersized defense attacker, but they move him around all over the place. Josiah Trotter, who was playing great as a rookie, not for everybody, but in this defense, he's perfect. He's a perfect hammerhead. Guys like David Walker has been a standout player. He had an ACL as a rookie and then kind of, has really come on the last few weeks. He's a D1 AA guy, not the longest guy, but he's got some juice to him. And they do so much fun. Yal Yal Yal Yabi, another guy, another guy that was a lot of juice. So they have-- - He jumps out all the time. - Oh yeah, he had some huge wins yesterday. Al Qaeda Muhammad, who was with the Lions now, he's just a rotational guy. He was the guy that forced a little strip sack. And they do all this kind of funkiness on the defense in the front end, but then the back end really, of course, is going to help out because who cares how funky you are, if we can just throw stuff for 20 yards on you. And the back end, like, Zyma Cole, Antoine Wimfield, a junior who wasn't playing, but he's a star when he's out there. Jacob Parrish, Ciance Scott. Like, they have all these guys that, because of the funkiness of the looks and how aggressive they play, really sometimes that works because, hey, we can hunt this matchup, just like we talked about offensively. They can do that defensively, too. Hey, we have a speed guy. Hey, we need a bowl rusher this week. Hey, we need the blitz this week. Hey, we need a drop eight, which is what they did a whole bunch of times yesterday. Including the strip sack was drop eight, eight in the coverage, only rushing three. And I came home, it's kicking in inside. He was a primary edge for the Lions, and now he's inside going against a guard, 'cause we're hunting that matchup. Need one that matchup. So this defense, it's hard to run on them. Vita Veya is like Rudy Gaubert, where it's like locked in top 10 run defense when Vita Veya is out there, but now that the past defense is playing like this, aggression, making big plays, making interceptions, all that, where Baker Mayfield only has to throw the ball 11 times. Get 11 drop X, it's only the third time since 2012. I was off the game early, 'cause it was a blowout. Oh yeah. So I wasn't tracking it, and then when it went back and looked at everything that I was like, just, you know, you go through everything when you do the Monday show, and you go, "Wait, this is wrong, 11?" That's what I did the same thing last night. I was like, I thought you threw like 21 times. 11 times, there's only been three games, three times, and NFL team has won, and the quarterback dropped back 11 times or fewer since 2012. It was probably 'cause we saw that rollout, into the end zone, we saw that replay a thousand times, 'cause he was back playing, which is hilarious, 'cause during the game broadcast, you go, everyone is on the other side of the field, and Baker's rolling out to the wrong side. Now, I don't know if he and the receiver have some sort of thing, or the receiver's smart enough to know, but it was really funny, 'cause it felt like the guy in the broadcast was kinda going, yeah, that worked out, but that doesn't make any sense to roll away from the rest of the team. Yeah. And it's 'cause Baker only parole to his right. He's not going to throw it to his left, so he's a classic quarterback. They only can go to the right, Nick's is the same way, hurts is the same way, they're too stiff. They don't have that flexibility. But anyways, Caleb can go. Caleb's direction, and go, yes he can. (laughs) Try, you know, another one is, Trevor Lawrence is really good throwing to his left, like that's the other guy, he has that, just kind of twitchiness, kind of turning throughout, but no, it was, Purti gets himself, like, Purti had one on the left side line, where he, like, jab, step, basket ball play. He does the jab frozen, throws a defender. And I was writing down, I'm going, God, you got to do just a Purti worship episode here soon, and as I was writing it down, that was the bait's pick. And I went, come on man, I had a whole segment lined up. Those two plays, yeah, 'cause the japs that happened right before that pick, right? Yep, right before that. And then there was another unbelievable play, and then baits, and it's just such a bad pick. Like the Seattle pick was great, 'cause Brady was explaining the whole thing. So you're like, all right, we're good. There's a cover. Yeah, cover's got them there, that's. And it felt like, okay, this is a pass-off concept here, and you are going to be right nine and a 10 times, and Seattle got you, because it's Seattle. My other quick hitter here is, well, I'll do it right now. I don't want to spend a ton of time on it, but Derek Henry, I'm a little worried about it. It was something that I noticed in that game, where the Ravens get up early, then you're kind of wondering, is there a Joe Burrow segment? And really, yeah, that he's fucking awesome. Five straight touchdowns in the second half, just dicing everybody up. I think Burrow down and pissed off might be the scariest quarterback in the NFL. You see all the quotes from Chase and Burrow and everything? They were, they basically, we'll go ahead. Oh, I'm sorry, yeah, but no, they were just, Chase and Burrow at halftime, they came out afterwards after the game. They basically just went in on the locker, in the locker room, and just like torched everybody. So I'm like, no, we're not doing this shit anymore. Like we're not, like they, they basically-- 'Cause you're like, so you're gonna lose this division game to Snoop, and Snoop Huntley's good. He's better than a lot of the back-ups that are out there. I mean, he has been for a long time. Yes, but he's a back-up quarterback. (laughs) But when Burrow, Matt Burrow might be the number one quarterback. Tell Sando to update his tears. However, Derek Henry, something I've noticed, short yarded situations, because they desperately need it, especially without the threat of Lamar. But I think this, I'm gonna say it. It's a lot like a fighter, and now he responds to a punch. And when they get older, they're like, you know what sucks getting punched in the face? Yeah, I will never forget the moment I realized Ricky Williams was done. And it was on this carry, he was with the dolphins, and he got like touched by a guy flying around the corner, and like the guy just grabbed his hip, and then Ricky Williams went down. And so did the rest of his career. It was just, he had taken so many hits that his body was no longer gonna be able to fight through any of this kind of contact. And Henry now, Derek fucking Henry on carries with one or two yards to go for a first down, is now 11 of 27 converting these under 41%. League average, as you mentioned on the other stat, which I jumped in on that is about 65, 66%, on converting that down into a first down, one or two yards to go. Henry had a carry that reminded me a little bit of the Ricky Williams moment, where I'm like, he kind of went down way too easily there. It's alarming, and it's been happening now for a while. He is a weird back, because he's obviously, can obviously just look at him, but it's not, he doesn't run out even in his prime, which I think I'm safe to say, he's a little past his prime, is that he's not a power back. He's a finesse zone back that is just gigantic, and he's never won with vision. Even at Alabama, he was bouncing, and he was just so big and long that he just ran past everybody. And once he got any momentum, it was like, good luck. Yeah, and you got, especially in college, there's 175 pounds of safety. He's like, ah, so we're getting in the way and getting buried. But no, even the stats bear this out, where it's that his average rush speed is a little down from last year, last two years, I should say, it's 11.78 this year. Last year is 11.96, the year before that 11.97. So that matters, because every touch, that means it's a little bit down. He hasn't broken 20 miles an hour this year, which he usually does. Some of that is, yeah, when he gets going downhill, but he has zero this year, last year at five carries, 20 miles an hour more. He's also had a slower pace of going 15 miles an hour more. So there is a little bit of that, but his vision's never been great. So that's why he's never been, like, he's been a weird shorty arch back. The Cowboys games, I think, the epitome of that, we're just running into the back of his own guys. Like I always feel bad for his interior lineman, just taking 260 pounds straight to the low back. So it's, I, and you, but they need him. Like this whole offense is based on the Heisman Backfield, and okay, one of them's out, Lamar's out, but you, we need to be able to run zone, especially against this team, the Bengals defense that you can't really run on the inside. So we need to see that juice. And they did one run that's called a lineback, which is where one block or kind of pulls to the other side. Deco and Doyle likes to do it. The Bears like to do it, Ben Johnson, you know, it's a staple. So since it plays out really like a river, so I can end around how it's blocked, but Henry wasn't able to get to the edge, like you expect him to. And so then it only went for like one or two yards, where as opposed to maybe an old or younger Henry, even just a couple of years ago, that might have been six yards who knows with how we're getting it was momentum by turning to 60. And that was just one run that kind of just stuck out with me. So it's some of the short yard stuff, and then now he's not getting to the edge because he's, that's what he likes to do, is bounce the stuff, and it just kind of feels that way. We also talk about like, yeah, how good Borough was in the second half, and just like how, you know, just, he, they, 16, they had 18 passes. 16 were successful in the second half, 89% success rate, which is, they're, my suplex that, they had the seventh best second half of any offense since 2013, 7,000, 7,000, 2, and 26 games. That's all good that second half was from that offense. And I, you know, that Jmarchase gets a lot of love, but T Higgins was doing a lot of dictating coverages, talking about the cloud stuff. T Higgins, his touchdown, very cool design. Like, I, I thought the bangles second half was like, okay, like, your linebacker's still suck, but this offense, man, okay. This offense is gonna keep up with a lot of people, especially in the AFC right now. Holy crap. I, you know, I had to pay attention to it, and then it was just, okay, this is, this is on. All right, you got the last one. You don't have that one. You can have it be yourself. - No, I got one more. The Dolphins doing the tank right, [BLANK_AUDIO] correctly, I should say, doing it with, if I get texted, doing it with a smile. And they know what they are. They have more dead cap than they do have cap spent this year, that were just unheard of, essentially. And it's all the signs that you wanna see is, okay, we're probably gonna take a quarterback, but our stopgap quarterback is not only just playing okay, he's getting better and actually playing in a way that we can evaluate the rest of the team. That sometimes that's an issue is that, hey, we're tanking, we're playing this bad quarterback. The quarterback sucks so hard that we can't evaluate anything, but they're often to lines competent. They have some cool young talent. I really like Patrick Paul at left tackle, Aaron Brewer's the star, but on top of that, they have some receivers that they've hit on already. I think Caleb Douglas, which I, including myself, I was like, ooh, that's a little bit of a reach in the third round. He showed up yesterday and has shown up when he's been healthy this season. Chris Bell, who is just can roll, is one of the freakier athletes. He's probably at 80% right now coming off a knee, and he's still running by guys. There also, like I just seem to talk about with the Malik well stuff, is that yesterday, he finished with a 99.6 QBR. That is the second best all time in a single game. And QBR, because of how the stat works, that means percentage that the team is likely, the likelihood the team is gonna win, that means based on how Malik well is just playing, that 99.6% of the time the team is gonna win that game. And I kind of had the, I'll save one little thought off of this, but the run game is cool, but they're doing with Ollie Gordon. They're doing some old school offset stuff, meaning as opposed to the runner-back being right behind the quarterback, he's offset meaning, that's old school West Coast stuff. Makes sense, Bobby Slowick, his dad, he's a Kyle Shanahan guy, Shanahan's kind of the guy that does that the most, but just change up the run angles, so they, they're trying shit. And there's a lot of teams that tank are aren't good, and they just run out the staples and do whatever, but they're trying stuff. And the young players are playing with some confidence. Michael Taffy had a pick. Chop Robinson leads the NFL in pressure rate. So they got their first win. Yeah, they're not great, but they're doing this right for a team that knows they're not great, because they're doing some cool scheme stuff and the young guys are playing well, so I want to give them a little bit of shout out. - Well done, little donkey. - Thank you. - So our first dolphin segment this season. - My little thought that was, wouldn't Malik Willis have blown people's fucking minds 25 years ago? Like, he, like, so he's like equivalent in the quarterback hierarchy right now is like Aaron Brooks. And he's like a much better player than Aaron Brooks. And I don't know, like just, I watched him yesterday and some of the stuff he was doing was like, this guy's 230 pounds, he could run like this, and he's like, throw fireballs, and he's actually thrown it accurately. Like, we say quarterback play is kind of down, but I think the floor is so high now. It's still hard to be really good, but I think the competency level is way higher than I think people think right now. And I had that thought when I was watching Malik Willis, it's like, he was doing this in 2003. I, he'd be on a man cover. Like, he would have to, like, you know, they're like, this is, are we kidding? Like, this is what this guy's doing. And he's like quarterback 24 right now in the NFL. - I wanted it to work for him just because it was fun. But then I was like, is this like the Michael Bishop conversation all over again? Where you're like, I haven't seen him, but man, wouldn't it be fun? And then you're like, oh, maybe he's, he's much better than Michael Bishop is, but I just remember, I think there's probably too many times I was in the car listening to people call in, complaining about how Michael Bishop should be the starter for Truplets. So that's a regional thing. That'll do it for the show today. Enjoy tonight. What do you get tonight, Dallas? - Dallas. - Yes, Dallas. Hopefully they just shoot for both of themselves. - You better, you don't have them. Then who does? - Oh, I'm starting to look for an exit, exit route. I'm like, okay, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're gonna get out here. - This will be the worst loss of the season. If Dallas loses this game, this is the worst loss by any team all season. - And I bet you've found you have really throw some stuff at 'em too. So, yeah, I, I want to see this offense respond and put together a four court. The, I think the Texans game was a good moment, but then now we're realizing the Texans defense, my P average. So now I'm like. - I know, right. - You guys, like, this offense, which is still has, I'm like a lot of successes. Like, you guys finish fucking drives and pick up some blitzes. So that's what I'm really focusing on. - That'll do it for Nate Ties, Yahoo Sports, football 301 and we will see him next Monday. - Thanks man. - This episode is brought to you by Raising Cains. College football top 12, it's starting to feel like it means business now, and I feel like the last two weekends are an absolute blur, the earliest in a long time that we've been able to say, "Hey, no one's good." That is not the case, but obviously more warts on the resumes this early on. We've had 19 teams that have been double digit favorites lose so far this season. We had 25 such scenarios all of last year, so we're early at 19. Okay, the top 12, Miami number one. That was easy. I'm gonna put Ohio State number two. I'm tempted to put Indiana three here because this starts to turn into the BYU Notre Dame conversation where BYU is early three spots behind Notre Dame in the AP, three spots behind them in the coaches pool, right? So, that one stings, especially when it's like, we were just in Provo, man, nine days ago, celebrating that. And then BYU loses the UCF and the Irish early jumped them without a win like BYU has against Notre Dame, but then we just start going in circles and we're like, "Yeah, but Notre Dame's lost." To BYU was a lot better on the road. Even though BYU's loss was on the road to UCF as well, but look, it's UCF and D. However, that doesn't seem to apply here with Georgia and Indiana, whether it's the AP coaches poll or even what I'm doing, because Indiana's loss at home to Ohio State is better than Georgia's losses at home to Auburn of all people. Auburn looked like Auburn again this weekend. But I think we've all watched enough Indiana this year to know that it is different. Something is wrong. And whether it was the offense, at different times this season, maybe that was the culmination of events in a Michigan game that went to overtime this past. So we can, which Indiana absolutely could have lost. There were four or 14 on third downs again. Hoover was eight of 18. He fell down on a second down where he was wide open to run it out where it would have moved the chain. Something that was really challenging for the Susia's offense all day. Against one of the best defenses in college football with Michigan. We can talk about the quarterbacks and the offense and all that kind of stuff. Just to shout out to Underwood, when Tommy Car went down in the red zone on a rollout or as a play action and Indiana red it perfectly, like almost like they knew what was happening. Indiana crush his car. And I'm just gonna tell you this, like most guys in Bryce Underwood's spot are detached from what's going on. This is my team. I'm the starter. I'm catching all this shit and now somebody else is in there. It's just a really small thing. It's a lot like when a player breaks a camera guy or a cheerleader on the sideline and then the player either helps the person or they ignore the person. And Greg Olson even pointed it out. He did like a mini rant on it. And I was like, all right, Greg Olson, 'cause we've talked about it on this podcast too. Look, it might mean nothing. Bryce Underwood might be a fucking Mississippi state next year, probably not. But, and that probably pisses off all the glory of Taylor fans. But you get my point. But in that moment it just meant something to me. And I was like, okay, he's like super engaged in this and the play gets blown up and he's worried about his teammate. So, back to Indiana. Signati mentioned with Hoover the arm and wrist injuries and he even admitted they thought about making a quarterback change on this Saturday. And now Indiana, the best team in college football last year on converting third downs. They're 58th in college football. So, we've seen this run of Indiana things happening here offensively and in this Michigan game, which was entirely loosable for them. That's why I'm still gonna stay with Georgia at three. And this is what happens when everybody loses. I mean, to think that Georgia can lose at home to Auburn and then be back up at number three in two weeks, not even two weeks, really. The next ranking, this is what happens. The Mulligans come early and for some of these teams, they may come often. All right, so I've got Georgia three, Indiana four. Utah did their best to try to add to the losing fest that we've had the last couple of weeks here. But at least it was against a ranked opponent at home against Houston where they were down entering the fourth quarter. They finished off an ADR drive to go up. They forced the punt and then a terrible interception by Damper. And the first thing I look for is like, okay, yep, it's first down. Just throws a pop up to the left side line. And you're thinking Utah's gonna just add to the losing party and they were able to pull this one out later. Utah, by the way, is received. a first place vote in the AP, that same AP voter has UCLA number two. I, my opinion is I would disagree with doing that, but I understand what he's trying to do. He's just going like, hey, these teams are undefeated. This is what I'm going to do. That is not necessarily my approach. So moving on, the AP has Utah behind Notre Dame. I have no problem flipping that here. The coaches flipped it. BYU is eighth and ninth, as I mentioned. This is where UCLA and Notre Dame come in. I'm going to keep BYU at six. I don't love it. We can get to the worst loss thing that we just covered, which again, doesn't seem to apply to Indiana here, but this whole thing is littered with inconsistency. So you can just get mad about it, or you can have a podcast where you're ranking doesn't even fucking matter. BYU's loss to UCF. This was not a fluke at all. UCF had playmakers all day long. It was a messy, long game. This thing felt like it went on for five hours. There's a fourth down decision here where UCF's at the goal line. I think when you're like inside of the five and it's first in goal, you're so mad that you're not in for the first three plays that then you're just like, I'm going to go for this. And I know we talked about it a little bit with Nate Tyson, but you're asking the offensive coordinator like, hey, do you think we can do this? Who thinks they can't do it? So Frost has to make the final call on this. I still don't understand what's wrong with UCF going up a field goal with 142 left in the game. Granted, they get to stop and maybe their arguments like you see what happened. We try to go for the game winning field goal when we got to go up fallback and regulation, but UCF is not a fluke here. They were terrific for an afternoon, a long afternoon, but I'm going to keep BYU ahead of Notre Dame because I'm going to focus on BYU having a better win than anything Notre Dame has on its resume. So I guess at number eight, I have to either put UCLA or Kentucky. I'm going to put Kentucky here. I know it's the head against BAM. But BAM has the second loss and I'll admit, like that Kentucky Alabama game went from really competitive to just the disaster in the span of like four minutes because of all these things that happened here. So I know the score is really ugly, but watching it at the time, I'm like, this is one of those games where the floodgates just completely opened. So again, with the extra loss there, I have no issue, even if you want to say that, like, look, BAM has the better win. So I'm going to put BAM on nine. Early in this game against A&M, I was worried about killing Russell all over again. No Ryan Coleman, Williams again. The secondary starts taking hits all over the place, but Russell absolutely lit it up in the fourth quarter. It was so much fun to watch. Woodson, number seven, defensively for Alabama. I've mentioned it a couple times this year, but he had to play on Marcel Reed. Now Marcel Reed's not my favorite QB, even Elko admitted we thought about benching him. I would think that's been going on for weeks there because I'll tell you, if you didn't know what BAM is, excuse me, if you didn't know what A&M's record was, if you were watching an A&M game, you'd go, man, they must be awesome. That team's celebrating all day long. I guess you could say the positive is they're always having fun, but just now they're starting to lose all these SEC games. But Woodson, who's really this linebacker edge guy who kind of seems like he plays all over the place, he was the zone Reed look decision for Reed and Reed gets left of him and Woodson cuts him down one on one on the left side in a way that's like, man, you don't see many people do that to Marcel Reed. Bama avoids its first three game losing streak since 2007 because every single bad Bama trivia question answer is 2007, which was Saban's first year when he was overturning the roster. So anytime that ever comes up again, it's like, hey, this bad thing's happening. The last time this happened in Alabama and it's a bad thing, it's always 2007. All right, number 10. Where's UCLA Ryan? Not at 10. There's seventh in the AP, seventh in the coaches. I'm going to go with Texas here. I don't love it. You probably hate it. They're up 24-3 on Ole Miss and I'm thinking, if they lose this one, if they lose this game, how is this look? What does the 27 Longhorn's week one situation look like if they blow a 24-3 lead at home against Ole Miss? And it goes to 24-24, a fumble to start the second half. Like that, it's 24-10. The floodgates. Here we go. Simmons isn't playing on defense. Texas is 3-13 on third downs. They're 89th in college football and third down conversion rate, but they find a way to pull this one out. So they have wins against the Ohio State and Ole Miss and two losses by six points. UCLA has nothing like Ohio State. They'd love a half of one of those wins. I'll keep Ole Miss here at 11. They've played seven games. Five of them have been against ranked opponents. Number 12. We're going to put UCLA in there. All right. So other options, Texas tech, no thanks. Cincinnati kicked their ass. French junior, the fourth. Wake. Plucky, LSU, right? I'm not going to do that. I'll put UCLA here. They can run the football, the third New York's Procarian College football, deepened box, the back up to Yamali Aval who's been out, so they've been doing it with two quarterbacks. And they keep winning these games. They have played five of their seven games in California. Six of their seven games have been in the Pacific time zone. And you know, there's just not much here win-wise where I feel like this is the standings part of it. It kind of drives you crazy, but here's what's nuts. I mean, the rest of the way is Nevada, Minnesota, Illinois, because like you're going to look at the Oregon win and go, okay, well, they beat a ranked team and they won on the road. Oregon's a mess. They had 10 points against Illinois. They lost to Illinois and Illinois. How's ours out? That's their backup quarterback. So UCLA is getting Nevada, Minnesota, Illinois at Michigan. And then they're going to close with USC, who is not ranked right now. This team could lose two more games. And the fact that they're they're up this high right now. This is where they're at. They're probably, I don't know, probably 10 and 2 with this resume. They can have one loss here. What you imagine is going to happen at some point. And they're going to be in the playoff. But I just can't put them ahead of some of these other teams that have been tested more. We'll be right back after a quick word from our sponsors. Kozy season is upon us. So yeah, we'll usually read an email or two at the end of the things. Speaking of emails, let's get to it, mock for being bald. Ryan, big fan of the show just wanted your thoughts and input on the situation that happened me a little while back. Working with a new mic angle here. This is temporary. So see how it goes. My wife and I took our son to the magic kingdom on a very busy and hot day as we parked another car parked directly behind us. The manor in which Disney has guest parked their cars leaves usually less than a couple feet between cars. I get out to the stroller while my wife attends to our son a combination of the heat humidity and my freshly shaved dome caused intense sweating and I could feel it beating and trickling down my head and face as I was wrestling the stroller from my SUV hatchback. I heard I hadn't heard I heard what's outed like soft singing and some approaching footsteps. I turned to find three early 20s Asian women slowly approaching with locked arm and Mickey ears. They stopped about one foot shot to finish the song. I didn't catch most of it. What I did here was when you shine. Okay. Took me a few seconds to register what happened and theorized the cause. They were singing about shining because my head was glowing in the sun. I believe this is a song from the new Cruella movie. Anyone confirmed that? I wouldn't be able to. I don't even bother asking IT. They then giggled and turned to walk towards the park entrance. Their boyfriends who seemed oblivious to what happened, trailing shortly behind. This is just a microcosm. My life is a bald man. What are your thoughts on this bizarre interaction? What are your thoughts about having a healthy perspective as you yourself or a handsome bald man? Thanks. Go magic. Nice. I thought girls would be nicer. I was sure this was a dig. I don't I'm still confused. We don't know that. Is there any chance? Is there any chance? And this is what I I've tried to preach in other moments of like awareness of oppression is like because real things have happened. Does that mean you have a heightened sensitivity and therefore defined things that are not actually in that category as those things? And it's like, how can I tell you? Like, how can I have a phobia just glowing? Like, I can't relate to you. You know what I mean? If I look like fucking Josh Hartnett or something and then I'm like, oh, that's not what happened to you. It wasn't because, but I guess I could say, but I'm just wondering like, do you think you have this heightened sensitivity? Because that's that's connecting a lot of dots that they were they might have just been happy Asian women. Yeah, you don't want to be bagel boss of it and like, you know, theme park areas and stuff. He really got a who was that the short guy? That was the short guy that I've had like probably had nothing go on at all, right? It's like, I didn't say shit to you. That guy had had it. Yes. I forget. Everyone in the video was like, I didn't say shit to you. What are you talking about? He's like, well, people have it in general. I'm like, oh, no, you know, you could tell that was coming from a few bad age dates. Yeah. It's my bile. Five seven. You showed up. I don't know. Maybe, I mean, look, I mean, the thing that it's always, well, I guess we're kind of getting to a point where this is becoming more of a choice. I guess my generation kind of missed that like accepted window where I never really understood why it was bad to get hair transplant, but everybody seems to be in favor of breast enhancement. So why can't guys do something like that? And yeah, like if somebody who's super overweight, who I think just is like, made a bunch of decisions, wants to give me shit for being bald. I'm kind of like, well, the one, you actively have decided to go this way. I did not want this to happen. Yeah. Well, I mean, look, sure, some of it, I know some of its hormones got it. What I would say is there's not enough evidence for you to know that that's exactly what the motivation was. That's true. That's true. In your own head. Yeah, you really got Steve with that one. It was good. I'm with you. I would never think anything of this. But man, when you're in your own head about stuff like that, you're insecure about one specific thing. God, that's a tough way to be in. It really is. He said newly called. Let's double check. We could probably tell by the age, right? This feels like a guy that's been going through it for a while. Or just hasn't really quite learned learned the ropes of it yet. No, I don't see any reference here to anything being new. Yeah, okay. Yeah. But he's probably gone through some real stuff. And the real stuff makes the, is that real stuff? You know? Yeah, what are you going to do? Tell them they're wrong? Yeah. I think you're ever wrong, though. I think he might be. If I had a bet, let's go on. Of course you are. I feel like I've been walking into like Disney World or something like, come on. There's never been a stop bald hate movement. Yeah. It's true. Start it. Start one. No hashtag. Get it going. I don't care enough. I'm still not sure. I'm not going to grow it out again. I, I still think the chase now is nander. Look is someone needs to make that come back unironically. What's that? It's been a long time. He did. He did. That was like pretty early on, though. That was like early 2000s, right? That was before you guys. There's a soul patch in there. Mm-hmm. Just hold on to any hair you can get. But it looked like that. Is there a name from that was huge? Like the half moon bay. Is there like a name for that? Yeah. You made it just come off of it. I don't think that's what it is. Probably not. The hair, but that, like the horseshoe. The horseshoe. Yeah, the horseshoe. It's totally. Yeah. Friar, talk. All right. Wouldn't correct new girlfriend making eggs after seeing the new Elizabeth Holmes movie. 27 Newly in a relationship. Loving life. I saw the new Elizabeth Holmes movie and loved it. We'd love to hear y'all's thoughts on it. I've not seen it yet. It's a huge, huge fan of that story. I feel that I'm sure. No, the book was a bad blog. When that book came out, I was like, I can't get enough of this. I think I watched a documentary twice on it. I love her story and despise her with a great amount of passion. It's like-- So Elizabeth Holmes, Raptor's fans. Well, bald haters. For real, my Kroski. So anyway, after Friday night out, I haven't seen the movie yet. We'll see. Staying over my girlfriend, she offered to cook up some breakfast sandwiches. Coming into the kitchen, I found myself in the same role. Liz's boyfriend was in where she was meekly stirring the eggs. I froze. I'm a domineering guy, but after hearing all the backlash against her boyfriend, since the movie came out, so wait a minute. So her boyfriend's getting shit for telling her in the movie to stir her eggs better. I don't know. I have no one knows. It sucks. It's like this is a tough read because none of us know. The movie just came out. This is spoiler alert. Now I'm going to go into that. It feels like a streamer for me. Not many movies. I'm definitely waiting for that one. I'm actually a little bit more jazzed up about going to the movies now. These days, but that one was no brainer. That'll be on HBO soon, I think. Not doing the iMacs for this one. No, the iMacs documentary. Like I'm on a high school trip. No. So I froze. I panic thinking we're taking over the stirring of the eggs, make me a narcissist. I didn't say anything, but I've been playing the situation out over and over. I can't decide if saying nothing was the thing to do. Or should I've made up some lie like it's important to beat the eggs right before dropping in the pan and try to teach via osmosis. Should you ever tell someone cooking for you what to do? Also, would love to hear your Halloween costumes. I got to say, I think I've got I do a worse one now. When I go over to my dad, my dad makes a stake. He's always been like a London broil guy. Not like a very fancy state guy. He's just been like, that's what he's been doing for years. And he like basically based it in day one song. Yeah, and he like based it in like a one sauce and then puts some Montreal steak on it. And I'm like, let's leave it out for a little while. Throw some coarse salt on it. Let that's the correct way. Yes. I know. But I'm coming into this man's house. And I do I can't even stop myself. But I like I really haven't started that since I moved until I moved back. And yeah, like I can tell it's like, you know, it's getting him riled up too. But I can't stop myself from doing this. So I think that's even worse. Like coming into your dad's house and be like, you're fucking the stake up, man. I think that's probably even worse than what he's doing here. So I mean, I'd say go for it. I'm already a greater transgressor than that. This is wait, this is wife. Girlfriend. Girlfriend. Girlfriend. New girlfriend. Oh, I would. Yeah, I would. I would. I am a particular guy. I feel like I'm decently easy guy to get along with. But I am pretty particular about certain things like folding laundry, dishwasher. not necessarily eggs, but like certain food techniques. I have to take a little touch of light switch 12 times before we go to bed. Yeah, yeah. We were talking about this to my buddies, because we were on a, this might just be like an OCD thing, but like one of my buddies, we were in our golf trip. He just left the volume on nine, and I was like, that's insane. Like, why would you, like, you're trying to put it to 10? Like, I said, I'm ruining my day. It's like little little little things like that. And my buddy in the car agreed with me. He's like, it's like a psycho killer, but he'll leave the volume on nine and not go to 10 or have it be on an even number. Anyway, there are little weird things I think that I, I would push my wife over. Let's talk about this. No, this is, yeah, talking about this stuff. My therapy session. Yeah, listen, I'm not, I'm, I think I'm well adjusted, but not always there. But there's some things my wife would be like, oh, yeah, he's very particular about it. It's super fucking annoying. And I think this is something you can do, but probably not right at the start of a new relationship or somebody you're at least trying to like, yeah, obviously have a long-term thing with. Like, so I would, I would wait at least a while until you're very comfortable, maybe cook for her. I think showing her is probably what you said is probably the way to do it. Yeah. This is how I like to cook eggs, but not like in this moment. What are you doing for you? Exactly. It's hard to watch someone screw up some food, though, when you actually have a spot, when there's like a nice window where you could intervene, it's like, "God, we're not salt in the pasta water." Right. Okay. Got it. Got it. All right. I could just do it. I could do it real quick. So I could, I could see that. It's tough. This is muddy. Yeah. I think it's as new. You just want to back off there a little bit. Maybe you grow to that moment, but it's somebody who's very particular about their eggs watching other people just give zero effort, you know, or you're just going like, "What are we? James Harden Trade Request? Make an eggs today." Like, you know, not even, you just put the eggs in the bowl and then you just threw them in the pan and there's the white parts and then nothing's mixed together. There's no dairy. There's no like splash of milk. We could forget about fluffy eggs. Yeah. Yeah. Right. Oh, so we're just doing wet ones? Awesome. Oh, you watch some Japanese burger video? Yeah. I love that. I love when the egg is not, like, not hooked. It's just everywhere. It's so good. So yeah, I would, I would slowly get into that. I wouldn't worry about this narcissist thing because I'm telling you right now, like this narcissism labeling that's gone on from some girl boss pods out there where every fucking person is a narcissist right now. We're just throwing this thing around. Narcissists don't impact. Narcissists don't ever wonder if they're narcissists either. I don't think. I think that's part of being narcissists, right? Narcissists are incapable of hearing about how other people feel, right? Okay. They don't even understand, like, what are you upset about? And then it's like, well, I am upset. And you're like, I don't want to repair it. I'm a narcissist identifying shitty egg prep. We'd need a little bit more intel on you because I do think the cooking thing can be a little tough because here's the thing, like cooking's a lot like painting or everybody thinks they can do it. I mean, some people just straight up tell you, but there's a lot of people, especially like early on in the relationship, you were the girl, you know, it's like, hey, we're going to give this one a real shot. And next thing, you know, she's making enough meatballs for a rotsie group. And she doesn't even know that salt and peppers like the number one move. And you have the meatball disaster 2009, which you've covered before. Cutting is something I may step in on because everybody thinks they know how to cut when they're prepping food. And you might be actually helping and going, hey, I'm just going to throw a little something at you here with the bread peppers. Here's what we're going to do. We're going to get in half. Then we're going to take out this big chunk of it. We can take out some of this white stuff. But if you're not ready for that, we'll leave it in there for now. And you're just going to curl your fingers back and you're going to rest the blade against the outside of the fingers. And then you're going to be in control of this whole thing. So instead of like looking like you're on the pretzel cutting competition somewhere in Munich, we're going to like look how, look how even the cutting is. Look how great. So like that's something that you can get to. But it's all in the delivery, which I apparently not very good at. But I thought that hypothetical did great. I mean, that was awesome. I love that for you. Yeah. Knives in the sink. It's not my favorite. Like so you want to go to the hospital before we have appetizers? No. So just I would, you know, hold off, hold off here a little bit. Yeah. Yeah. Or can you just say, can I help you instead of like getting in there and be like, can I help? Like I can take care of this? Is there anything else you need to like anything from the fridge? I can, I'll take care of this. You know, you could just help instead of be sitting there watching. Although, if you're a good cook maintenance thing. Yeah. Look, man, if you're a good cook, if you're the the one that knows how to cook a little bit in the relationship, definitely more so if it's the man who knows how to cook and the woman doesn't, she wants to help learn from my mistakes. She wants to be in the kitchen. She's at your fucking house. You're probably going to make out that night. She likes you. She doesn't want to go in the other room and watch the brown Steelers on Thursday night football. We all do like, hey, this is awesome. I don't have to deal with anything. You know, third down battles. She wants to come in and help and a good cook in the relationship figure out those things that she can do, make her feel like she's a part of the meal. I've never done that. I fuck it up every time and I finally noticed, I finally finally noticed. I was like, you know what? You can cut those peppers. You can get the water going. We can get these potatoes prepped. I'm not asking you to do any kind of like reduction here or anything, we're not ready for that. But some of the guys out there, especially if you're okay with a knife, let her help. She wants to be in there. Don't shut her out, learn from me. All right. You only guys who kill to have a girl that they like making them eggs. So just take that not bad ones. Yeah, I don't know. I think there's a lot of deeps on you. I'd be like, I'll take bad eggs and a girl that kind of likes me. A lot of guys out there would take that. I've seen what they've done. Yeah. So I'm fussy about my eggs. I don't know what to tell you. All right. basketball comp won. Oh, wait a minute. 1996. She got the horn a second. 14 and I 88 percent from the line. And if you guard me with anyone my height or shorter, I'm going on a mid-range flurry that makes every sub six foot white high schooler believe for just a minute that there's a chance. More comfortable next to wargon on the treadmill for 40 mile. Whoa, what? Jesus. For 40 mile. I don't know. 2040 marathon. Yeah. I guess these stats are legit. 16 minute 5K. Still putting up one plate of the bench. The 440 mile tipped me off that that might happen, but that's more impressive than 225, man. High school history teacher, cross country coach. 440 mile has to be a new record for the show. No one's step to us with that. That's crazy. I thought I said 440 marathon. All right. That makes a little more sense. This guy's flying. 16 minute 5K sounds ridiculous to me too, but I guess this is just not my world, dude. Disguised fast. Good things across. No other way to put it last week. We had a lot of size this week. We are average speed just went away up. Someone will lie about their mile time now. I believe this guy because we gave more weight too much. So we just end the pod now. You're right. Now a dad do a five-month-old girl going through a serious sleep regression need a ruling to save the marriage with his mom. We recently pulled in the garage of one of the best walking trails in town on the Sunday morning right on the water of Pacific Northwest. Jewel great views of Bang and Cafe Pacific Northwest when it's right. Nevermind. It's really nice. All right. My wife is driving in the babies in the back. That's like an absolute understatement. Did you guys ever see fear? That was filmed up there. Last thing I saw was the Wolfman. It just looked pretty bummed out. The whole Pacific Northwest was just pretty gray and dark greens from rain, but I was better thought of time up there. So the Wolfman would deter you from visiting? I have to say. That's the last Pacific Northwest. That's all the time I was counting in the Pacific Northwest. And that's why it's like, let's do something different. Do you see the Wolfman? Also when we went to Carl's pass, we went to Pearl Jam's thing a while ago and I basically spent like three days in C-Tac, which is like basically the airport town I think. And so that's the only other thing and it was also raining there. So kind of over two so far. But yeah, look. I mean, there's probably people who have been to Hartford that didn't have a good time. They don't get it. So that's fair. It happens. All right. So places legit, but free parking's tight, maybe 30 spots. My wife is driving into babies in the pack. We spot one open space. I heard you already know where this is going, except that there's a woman standing in the middle of it on the phone. Let's call her Katrina. You know where this is going? Yeah, yeah, we do. We pull up. Katrina looks away. She's this away. But in that way, when she knows it's probably not going to work. My wife rolls down the window and opens with a firm. You know, you can't hold the space for someone. Katrina does not take this well and says, do whoever's on the phone. Well, wow, isn't she rude? They go back and forth. I believe the term psycho was tossed around. The baby is indeed crying. And eventually my wife forcefully gets her to move, dropped a line in there about, I'm not sure how your friend is going to pull in the spot because my car is staying here. Later, we learned Katrina's friend was a full five minutes away. My position, Katrina was indeed out of line and we deserve the spot. But I think my my wife should have started softer and deescalated. I would have gone with a friendly, hey, how we doing? Is that spot taken? I wonder if a long distance guys more inclined to go this route where a sprinter is like, get out of the spot. Just a theory to pop up my head. I also had a theory about if I owned a bar, you just call it second Halloween and just have Halloween in the spring. Yeah, but with all this Halloween hype, you know, the anticipation of this weekend seeing people out there in the costumes and whatnot. Oh, we didn't answer the costume thing. Maybe we can do that later this week. I'm going to dress up as a guy in his basement watching ants. So anyway, he says, I would have gone with how we doing. Is that spot taken? Man, if we grab it, throw in a smile, maybe some humor along the way. My wife says I'm crazy in that she did absolutely nothing wrong. She wouldn't change a thing about her approach. So who's right? Is opening friendly the move or just saving a spot with your body for fit the right to the polite opener? PS key context. My wife and her dad are notoriously psycho behind the wheel with a firm. I can say anything nasty as long as they can't hear me policy. I do not do this. The only difference this time is the window was down. I think it's kind of cool as long as your wife doesn't do this to men. I think it's kind of cool that she'll do that to women. I'm going to clarify that. Oh, I mean, this was a lady standing in the spot, right? I mean, your job is for the male conversations. Her job is for the women. Convertations as long as she's not coming up to men and then that psycho thing pulling you into something like, I think that's kind of neat that she's got to switch their flips. So it sounds like she doesn't care who it is and probably I don't know. I have bad road rage. I think we've discussed this before. She's saying, I have to leave some on page dial life behind a wheel. I just do. I don't know what it is. My dad's the same exact way as maybe I learned from him. I thought I think he's corrected most of his, most of the situations like my dad was the kind of guy who like if somebody pulled out in front of him, like he is to which is way from their bumper for as long as he possibly can't be. I'm not that crazy, but I'm pretty close. No, it's always uncomfortable. Or he'll do like the real close, like just drive by and you're like, are the mirrors gonna touch maybe? Anyway, so that's where I got it from. I don't know why it's kind of irrational too because it's like it doesn't really matter. But in this situation, like she's wrong and I don't think being nice to your wife's credit. I don't think being nice is gonna solve anything. Like if you're just like, hey, like actually, I was hoping to grab that spot. What you gonna say? Oh, actually, you're right. I'm gonna hang up the phone with my friend who's five minutes away. Like the only way that this is gonna go over well is with confrontation, unfortunately. So I, you know, did she add a couple of jabs there that might have been unnecessary? Yes. Does that maybe make your wife feel better? Makes you feel live a little bit. Like I kind of like like that rush sometimes. I'm in the car and somebody pisses me off. Like I'm not mad about it. I'm like happy to be mad in a weird way. So she's not like physically fighting anyone and getting you in trouble or like putting the baby in harm. I think I don't know. I think it's kind of harmless. And she's right. That lady was standing in that spot prepared to weather the storm from nice people who wanted that spot and your wife was not gonna be a nice person that day. So that's why I say I kind of like she has that switch flipped. Would you like it every weekend? No. No. But this isn't that every weekend sort of deal because this is not something that people, the society, I love to run. Yeah, but this is at this standing in the parking spot. It's not something that normal people in a society do. These are the outliers. You know the weather up there, Kyle. It starts to turn. It's a little dreary. I don't have a problem with it. I guess I would not want this to be like a monthly subscription. You know, you got a five month old crime because she just a five month old and doesn't understand why all these people are yelling at each other and it's just upsetting to her. But you guys both nailed it. There was no way you were going to win without going in there determined and hard and then finding out like hey, she was five minutes away on top of everything else. But again, if you're if you're going to do that, you kind of can't give up if you're the other person. What are you going to do? Hit me with your car. I'm standing here. Yes. Yeah, maybe I guess then we find out how far that then one of the car versus person. Yeah. I will say the baby thing too though. Like if you got a baby car in the back man, like there's also another rational anger that you get. We just like I am so mad at whoever I see first I'm taking it out on. Yeah. So that could also be this maybe his wife needed a win. Maybe she felt like she was taking a bunch of losses in the crib. You know, and then she's like, I need a win today. And that was her win. Yeah. No one listening to this is in favor of the person that was holding up the spot is not one person. Well, there's always somebody. So actually, Birmingham, it's accepted thing. Like okay. Yeah. I just had a zero to 60. You might might want to talk about it, but good for you getting the spot. Sri had a hell of a day. Thanks to Tom and Kevin, Saruti and Kyle.
