I'm still not there. As someone like, I thought by this point now, I might have evolved to the point where I could do a flat white. I'm still not there yet. Still the same amount of coffee though. It's just with a little bit more kind of foam, right? Do you have one of those charts up in your coffee shop with us? The chain was a bit more frothy, whack a bit of chocolate on top. Did you know before you started the coffee shop? Or like, because I know you were obviously a big coffee fan. I remember that you would go out and choose the coffee that you get while you were on tour and stuff. But did you know everything that was to know at the time? Not everything, not what I know now. But some coffee is just, is the same coffee, but with different names. So a long black and a maracan, or a pretty much the same thing. Really? It's one of the posters with all that, you know, where it has a different layers. That's pretty cool. And then that way I would know. And I'd be able to top up my knowledge. By the time you said it. Because the other week you really impress me. You were like, oh, it needs to be blah, blah, blah degrees. Yeah. So she just knew that off the bat. Yeah. You have to know. I want to make my own chart, you know, like a gelati. Yeah. And we had someone else who had a particular type of hot chocolate, didn't we? A specific type. I'll tell you what, I'm going to do my own chart. I'll update you on the next episode. By the next step. And then I'll get it printed off and put on my wall. Okay, I'm on it. And then that way I'll have a little bit more intel coming into this. And actually know what coffee order to get. So, sure, there was another thing that I needed to bring up with you. The other day I was, I don't know why I was stalking you on social media. And I typed in straight. It's like you. I mean, try and find that person. But one of those apps that says that your stalker is the big reveal. No, I was trying to stalk you. And I typed in to your Scott. And it always baffles me that you're not the number one to your Scott. I am not the Jill Scott. I always say there's a Jill Scott singer and Jill Scott the Minger. You know, when they laugh, you make the scene. You have got to get it. You're right. You have got a lovely voice. No. And absolute legend. She's a legend. I mean, isn't my music. Well, I produce a Lizzie. She's been given another big talk up. She's going to get added to my playlist now. She is amazing. And the fact that I name Spal exactly the same. A lot of people call Jill a GI LL. Yeah. So, and you guys kind of occasionally hear her? I'll begin that up a little bit. We exchange messages on two of the kids. I like to use friends earlier. I think I was trying to kind of like get in with the crew. Jill, I've had a few messages come through for me, which I think are actually for you. So, I forwarded them to her. But do you know what? She message seeing, well done on winning the FA Cup. And it was that weekend. And I was like, wow. So, she obviously was getting hit up with a lot of Jill Scott love as well. Yeah, actually, maybe that ocean you are. I thought she was in America sitting watching the women to pick up my phone. All these years later, you've brought the dream. Amazing. I think we're looking at people that we've spoken to on previous episodes. We've been a little bit lack so far because we set up a load of campaigns in series one. And I thought it'd be nice to kind of check in for some of those. Yeah. So, we'll just do them for the podcast, aren't we? Yeah. The thing is, we've actually been quite successful weirdly. Oh, yeah. I wonder whether we've just by talking about them kind of got a few things flagged. Go on. Shall I take you the first one? So, Tony met Ronaldo. Did you meet him? Yeah, but that wasn't down the wall, but we'll just take the credit for all of these. We just said that we did it. And then why it got a MBA? Yes. And she was us as well. And a beer bee. And she got a baby. Two for one. Do we come here for that? We just wished her into retirement so she could have a baby. Lucy Stanifalfov hasn't yet met Tieri Omri. We could make that happen. I'm sure we could. We were campaigning to get your picture out of the lose. I'm still in there. You're still in there. But I could just remove that picture off the wall. You said it sounds like you stuck it up there. I mean, it's in Georgia's Park soon, so I'll just move that out. But you do actually have, you now have another picture on the main entrance as well. So Lucy Stan was our kind of almost, our one outstanding one that we've got sort out. And she mentioned in her pod that she's best mates from a very early age of today's guest who is. I've been on the train for about seven or eight hours this week. I've had enough time to cover with that link. You're in your fun, bunch of. I'm going to say my famous saying again and be like, "I'm so excited for this one, but I really am." To obviously have Lucy Bronze on our podcast, I am so excited. I've heard you speak in such glowing terms about Lucy Bronze. I almost feel like you're a bit of a fan of Lucy Bronze. Yeah, I think anybody who's played alongside Lucy or watched our play football, you can't have any other opinion. And yeah, we've been teammates for a number of years. And even from when she was younger as well. So I'm going to ask about that. But yeah, she's just an amazing athlete. And someone who I think people just expect that to perform at the level that she does time after time after time. So I'll definitely be asking about that as well. And she's now in Barcelona as well. Now you did a wrecky, obviously. Poor, pure Lucy. I wondered, did you ever think about playing abroad? Did you ever think about something? Yeah, I thought about it. But the way football works, Ben, is the team has to ask you to come and play for them. So yeah, obviously I thought about playing for Barcelona. I've always met you. Nobody ever contacted me, ever, ever. I don't believe that. It's true. Never, ever, ever. I've been contacted by Barcelona on Leon. Amazing. Well, I can't wait to ask her about it. I think I drink more now in Barcelona. They've got me training at like 9 o'clock in the morning. So you need it? Do you still have ice coffee, did you? A couple of times, yeah. Yeah. I'm over 30 now, so. This is part of the criteria, isn't it? I actually bought on my note Lucy, no coffee. I don't know why. Do you remember when the first time you started drinking it, did you get that feeling when you're like, "Oh my word, I'm now limitless." Oh, no, no. It's crazy, isn't it? I never got that, ever. When did you start drinking coffee? Seven. Do you have to get it from either one? She was on the coffee machine. Some people say that they get her publications, so that's for one shot. And I obviously think they're being a bit dramatic. That means the same. Really? No, yeah. Or if I had that caffeine gone before games, I'd be like that. Well, you're doing the North East proud now with your two shot, like, "I'm proud of you." I'm proud of you. Yeah, in the introduction before, we were talking about when I went to do a wrecking of Barcelona just before this season. Just to make sure that it was perfect for you. Yeah, because I keep saying that I'm going to get over there this season. ja se on tullut. And how did you word it to me? Why did you ever think about maybe going to play there yourself and then you said and I said well You have to get a call or they have to be interested so basically I did this wrecky and I said yeah Of course I've thought about it like wow, Plim from Barcelona and then we'll talk about Leon But yeah, I never got the call but at least you did yeah probably off every single club going Can you remember when you got there the phone could be like from Barcelona I was on holiday in LA and it was an email actually an email oh you know what that's it I don't know my email I'm going to take that email and I'm going to come out of retirement Imagine how angry you're going to be when you get home and you see there's email from other international clubs just sitting in your junk folder that you haven't checked I'll let you know I'm not glad is that by the way she's in LA LA is just a complex bar for Loda that's pretty cool I can't believe it was an email I'm not afraid to hear do you want to come and play here next week No, it was an email to set up a zoom Oh okay There you go, so then it was a zoom call And now I just played it cool on the zoom call Trying to be like yet never been a lifetime Do you like to come to Barcelona? I was like I think about it Yeah maybe When you get it at a time where like secretly you sit there like oh my god Oh my god, oh my god Yeah, I think obviously I went to Leon and that was like the best team And aside from Leon, Barcelona Not only the team but like to live there To try and learn Spanish I always wanted to go and play for Barcelona funny enough but I always thought like it was ages ago when they weren't really like winning the Champions League Just thought oh yeah be nice to go and play in Spain and chill But gone there to try and win the Champions League instead I always think like what is the Because one thing I never got to do in my career was go and play abroad And like what is the biggest differences you know WSL to play in safe and Leon Playing for Barcelona like if you were trying to explain it to me simple terms Like the football The football Yeah just yeah The football you've got to think for yourself more definitely Yeah I think England was so structured I guess it's maybe similar in Germany So I guess that's not like a necessarily playing abroad And then the language When I came back to England I always said to the girls you need to appreciate how hard it is for the foreigners Because we just think oh everyone speaks English like Why do you not understand me? I'm like because I speak so fast Yeah and then went to Barcelona obviously I used to be in a different country And Kira was like I'm not clue Yeah I'm not saying I can't speak to anyone like Rob are getting panicked and I was like it's it's going to be fine don't worry So did it make it easier then having been to Leon and then I had to pick up Did you speak French already? No I didn't speak a word of French Wow until Leon and by the time I left I was pretty fluent there or there And I didn't know a word of Spanish and I'm still don't know where to know I couldn't speak a little bit of Spanish now Lucy you are clever though she is very clever like to just go to Leon learn French and then go to Barcelona learn Spanish like it's difficult to do And I think it's also very difficult to do the all-der-you-get Like the best time to do languages when you're doing very little And I wish I'd done that because I did French for five years at school And all I can say is Shima Pell Gilles And I think when you have French speaking exam I said I ate a horse and field So you are right like it will but you just go in your ex Yes and the woman started laughing, stopped the tape and I said I've failed I've an arrangement yeah What is that? J'ouement? J'ouement? A shababab What a horse in French? Yeah that's it yeah so I always thought it was really cool when you'd see Lucy in a mix-zone and you just flip between the languages I thought that's just such a cool skill wasn't it? Yeah Just go from one language to the other and are you able to do that in Spanish now as well? Oh no my goal was the bar city visa to me by the end of the season we want to do an interview in Spanish Oh wow So that's going to be my first Spanish interview You nervous? Yeah I've been practicing I've been practicing for whatever happens in the game I already know the sentence I'm just recall the sentence it's not going to be off the cuff at all it's going to be me remembering a sentence in my hand So is it like a flow chart? It's like did we win? If yes this is like an eye score yes Did I not score no? Did I play well? Yeah Put it out to the world and then say it happens so you get a hat drake Play with a match So when I score I'm going to have to do this interview about how I scored in the Champions League final to win the game That is a really good idea I tell you what should we let's rewind to go right the way back to the beginning and we'll come back to Barcelona because we had some amazing stuff to ask you off the back of having done a pod with Lucy Stanifold Oh yeah Lucy Stan So to start with the biggest talk up that anyone has ever had on this podcast is Diane Bronze Would you die yet? No don't get it on us We should have had you when you were on a year And then you wouldn't have had me speak him at all Yeah Or you neither are you And I have had to have been like an extended for a year 3 hours for a extended 3 hour podcast I reckon she would have came on though She's a bit of a legend in the in the women's football space right? Yeah she knows I think she knows more than me about women's football to be honest I remember when we talked about the early days obviously you'll talk about Lucy Stanifold But I was speaking about remember when we were on the England program and back in the day You used to train like twice a week with your club So EIS England Institute of Sport They used to kind of subsidise our training with weight sessions Can you remember? So me, Carly, Tellfx I was thinking back to one the first time I met you And I think we were about 1819 and you Jordan Like to you know teenagers Would come in and do weights and they were like 1314 And I remember Lucy lifting more than us in the gym which is embarrassing But usually in my back pocket I always had So I think we're going on the pitch and we have fitness testing I'll show these youngsters that you've got to work hard and whatever else And then Lucy absolutely blitzes at that as well at the age of 14 So I had nothing had actually nothing No it wasn't something in the water in the Norfies Because it was you, me, Demi was Jordan Yeah Maybe it's not Lucy as much as running This is the technical one of Of us young boys She was the only one that could play football That actually passed the ball in the straight line But I was saying to engine you said that you were like you weren't a super technical youngster You were much more about kind of like the physical side of the game I think that's from the Norfies, the lot of the girls from the Norfies say that You have to work so much harder and then once you got that base All I did when I was from the age of 20 was work on my technical ability Because running was that easy to me Whereas I know like Kira is the opposite And she'll say now how hard it is to try and get fit when you're already technical Whereas I'm like it's easier to try and get technical when you've already got a very good level of fitness The other thing that Lucy said to us was that she from the moment she arrived You two were like you were playing football all the time All the time Inceptible Competitive as well Yeah well this is what I was going to say Like I mean you haven't shied away from the fact that you were fairly competitive Youngster Yeah it was so much worse with Lucy which I don't think she'll appreciate But she's a year younger than me which is nothing now But when you're 13 and she's in the year below you I'm like she can't beat me at anything Okay Yeah You should literally there's I don't know if she's told you the story We went to the gym once together and we had a running session and we was on the treadmill next to each other We didn't speak but we kept looking at the other person's treadmill And then I had put my goal Then she would see my goal and she put hers up And literally we were both sprinting by the end and we were like it's not even hard this Absolutely knackered but we just kept putting not even saying anything Wow Just because we were looking at each other's thing But then that stayed with you hasn't it? Like obviously as professional athlete you want to win everything I think everybody wants to win everything don't they? But I think with you like it's almost like another level I know when the things that don't even matter Yeah Problem Well not really like a Champions League and stuff that but you know but that winning side Like I actually wanted to ask you a little bit about that Because I don't want to sit in the even if I go through all your accolades Well we'll have to do an extended version I'm just I was looking at things before I did a little bit of research today which never usually happens does it? Well this is a true First time I've worked up with a sheet of paper and a sharpie pen But yeah I'm looking through and I'm like this isn't even half of it But WSL season 13, 14, 16 Champions League numerous of times You've got gold with England five times Which obviously include non-alcohol cups Stuff like that In terms of individual awards We've got you've been in the top 10 with the ball on door for three times Is that correct? Yeah BBC football over the year twice And this isn't even like half of the stuff I think you're in the WSL The PFA team of the year I think probably like the whole time that you've played in the WSL Which is incredible the only pick like 11 players And obviously winning the WSL three times I only got to do that once out of 20 But like what is it about winning? Because that is your main thing isn't it? You just want to win Yeah I don't know and it's funny because once Once I've won that trophy I'm not even that bothered about it Yeah that sounds so bad Like I even remember winning the Euros And all I could think was can't wait to win the World Cup next year Just onto the next one Yeah, the WSL blue and I was like Ah can't wait for the World Cup But I was thinking why am I not celebrating winning the Euros? Yeah But just always been like that I don't know Is it just can't do like box-takes? Yeah And to the next one It's not even like I wanted to tell everybody that I've won everything, it's just because I like that feeling, like I just love that feeling inside of me. But it's like getting there, but in the moment you've got it, it's like, I'm like, yes, done, done. What next? Yeah, wow. What do you do with all your medals and trophy? I'm doing that. I'm hanging them on your kitchen like, like it is. I think, uh, well, because I've just moved house, they're all packed away. My mum, my mum has my MBE. My grandma maybe has some things, and then my euros trophy in the Folliesa Merle, like stuffed in my drawer at home in Bassa. There's one that really like pinzes for you and you're probably not even that bothered, but when it was between you and, uh, Rapinoe. Yeah, that one. I remember reading the stats at you. And obviously I've got a lot of respect for her, but you'd played in about 50 odd games, that season. I don't even think she'd played that many club games. And I think that for me, I'm like, I know obviously you'll probably say the individual honors and stuff like that. Like obviously the club things mean more, but you should have won that. I know, I think, not really, that too fussed about that to be fair. More, like, hurts, like the all the world cup exits that we've had. Yeah. Like, I know, honestly, sometimes the individual ones is not always about what you've done or, and not just not just that year, but in other years with all the people. Like, there's other people that have been hard done by like, I've played with one of the best players in the world, Marjan. Yeah. So this day I will still say she's the best player I've ever played with. And I've played with nearly every player going like, she's not even one any of the individual things that I've won. What would you've actually done if I'd have caught up to you? If you ran, I'm also a run-up. You know what, I was watching the City Wheel Madrid game over the last two legs. And obviously seeing the job that Callum Olson did. I was one with that. Yeah, and I'm not just saying it because you sat here, but I watched that game. And he used to do reminders of each other. And I was watching somebody doing interview about him as well. And they were saying like a soul undervalued at times because people just expect this performance of him. Like he stops every winger playing that he's playing up against, doesn't he? And Bappé plays like that. And I think like the way that he recovers. And I feel like when I see him do them recovery once, every mind is if you. You smile in, isn't it? Yeah, yeah. That's it. When I see him do that, I see him do one in the second leg when it went in behind him. Yeah, and he was in front of him. And he went it back and you can see him smiling and I was thinking, I love that. When you do that, who challenged back in the winger still? He always gives them a little bit. He gives them, I don't do this anymore, but I used to when I was younger, give them a bit of a head start and then be like, "Meh, I'll get back anyway." Just to like rub it in the face a little bit. I wish I was good enough that I could have done that. You know what, I'll just give you a little head start. It's a bit cutch, like cool. Even just be quick enough. He does it all the time. Yeah, all the time. So would you challenge yourself? Would you go, I wonder who it is today? Or if you know who you're going to play against, you think this is going to be fun? When, when I was younger, I think between the edges of like, in my early 20s, till about 27. I just got to look after Andy's now. Yeah, I got to look at Andy's. I don't get away as much anymore. But at that time, yeah. I used to love watching your battles with Hempo in Treyon and obviously they'll still have a now fit England. I'm saying you stoop because I don't play anymore. But there was such good battles, like such good battles. And I think it was good for Hempo, to be honest, because what a great player quick, she's done absolute amazing since obviously, playing for England, playing for City. But I think you were kind of like, "I'll show you what the letter is." I can see that. There was one to relish that. In the Euros, or was it the Euros when the last couple of years, me and Hempo always go against each other in Treyon. And I'd say it's where, "I'm not going to let you touch the ball today." And say that when we was walking the pitch, she's all not touching the ball today. But it's good for her. She's laughing, we were laughing. And I'm like, "No, you're actually not going to touch the ball." But she was saying that she's a hyper competitive trainer as well. Like, it really gets to her if she does have a ball. Yeah, but if you like, you can really get at it, and then how to get in and out. But I think it's good for both of you, because you're going to face, you're probably not going to face many winners that are better than Hempo. Exactly. And then she's not going to come up against any full backs as good as you. And Nikita Paris and Demi Stokes, you start the same ball. Yeah. I used to just be standing in the middle of the pitch. I just was great to walk. I'm like, "Kita's got past you twice. You've got three, but it's good." And I always remember, I think I might have been Carly Lloyd, when she was a man, sitting, saying, "If training is tougher than the games on a weekend." Yeah. And I think the standard of our Lioness training, when we were at Man City training, it was such a high standard that the games did fail easier. What is it, yeah? So, and I know the spoke about Keyra spoke about on the podcast recently, that she used to just hold onto the ball just to literally take a big out of me. But I used to pull my new out of anyone in the gym. Yeah, everyone. Still going to the New England. Just don't get away with it a bar, though. I bet she doesn't. I'm not going to take that personal one. What the England session is like at the moment, I mean, it looks like it's both very intense, but also very fun. Yeah, I think there's obviously a lot of younger players now and new players. So, they like enjoying themselves, and I guess we're in an environment now where I think people think we've got more pressure on us, because we're the European winners, but I think it's the opposite, because it's almost like, "Oh, finally, we've won something." Yeah. So, it's like, we don't, we almost don't have to prove anything, because we have beaten every team in the world, whether that's USA like recently or years ago. Yeah. There was always, I remember when we played together, it was like, "Oh, we finally beaten the USA, oh, we finally beaten France." Yeah. And now we're at the point where it's like, "Well, we've done all of those things that people have asked of questioned us for all these years." Now, everybody that comes in can come into this environment, where there's an expectation, but equally, the pressure's there about it. You can enjoy yourself a little bit more, because you know that all those things people are asking were capable of doing it. There's no first, anymore, because you've done it, apart from the world cup, that is everything. Yeah, that's quite cool that you get to go to the world cup as a team that's won. Born, yeah, exactly. So you get to go in and instead of people being like, "Oh, you're the favorites, you're not, yeah, but, according to what?" Yeah, and the thing is, is that everyone used to go to the world cup and say, "USA are the favorites." Why? Because they've won it before. Well, yeah. Okay, then, so, and then the USA would love that. Yeah. And then they would win it again, because they would know how, like, how it feels to be in that position. The pressure was almost off more than it was. Everyone else on the outside was putting it on, but then themselves were like, "We know how to do this." They have this song, and I bet it drives you to mad. Do you know the song I'm gonna say? The one that I believe that we will win, that one. It's so annoying, because you're like, "All right, whatever." But they said, "Yeah, you really have it in Bill." Yeah. But then we have a song in Bill. It's coming home. Yeah, exactly. Every foreign person hates that song. Yeah, I went to Barcelona and they were like, "It's coming home." Like, "Oh, genuinely, it's like a thing in. " Yeah, they all know this song. I'm like, "Why, the English songs they know is this song and Sweet Caroline." Yeah, that was good though. I did like Sweet Caroline. But they actually like the Sweet Caroline, but it's coming home, and they were like, "Fu-bull doesn't belong to England." And I'm like, "Oh, whatever." Yeah. I can't believe that Georgia actually sang that. And the initiation. Did you reparsar? Yeah. Because of Georgia, I said, "Did you text Georgia?" They've made me sing it because of you. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I did have to do two initiation dances. And then they took a karaoke out, and they were singing some, I don't know, some Spanish songs. And then Alexia Futeles was like, "She's sat on a table opposite." And she stood up and she was like, "Lucy, why don't you sing Sweet Caroline?" Obviously, she'd been there a week. And Alexia was like the captain and queen of Barcelona. So I couldn't say no. Could you imagine if you tried to say no to her? Yeah, I'd be like, "Yeah, I should've sit down." So they came to me like, "What will you more?" What will you more nervous for? Well, that moment, or going into the U-Bose Final. That moment, especially because on this table, I was sat on it the moment, in that moment, was Norwegian, Swedish and Spanish. So everything, we knocked out. I can't imagine Lucy getting up and like, being confident about dancing and singing and stuff like that. Not the singing bit, was the thing. How did it go? It did be there. I started singing and they all started singing. Yes. Have you got a video of it? No, they weren't. They're aren't the shit. They don't video on. They didn't have phones back then. No, they said no phones were allowed. Oh, I would've loved that. Imagine an exclusive. That would've been wonderful. That would've been great. Really, really cool. So like, when you start, see, I think that's the best thing in it. When you, if you have a song like that, that everyone loves. It means just not so heavy on you. You haven't to carry the whole thing on you, right? The only thing is, is that they don't know the words. So, okay. The big bits I had to sing on my own, and then the only new sweet Caroline was the con. Dude, dude. I don't know English very well. Going back to where my Kyle Walker story, is he one of the players that you look up to from the men's game? Yeah, probably one of the players who I look at and think we have a similar. attributes and what we can give to our team and the games. And actually it's funny because of how he plays at CityNow. It's quite similar to how I play at Barcelona. He doesn't always attack every single time because he's there to be able to defend as well. He's an attacking fullback. And I have that a lot of Barcelona now where we have so many attacking players that I'm kind of like the security blanket. Oh really? I used to see you with CityNow. I was like, "Good joining, I'll hold." So now I've got to pick my moments because obviously I'm playing with like a lot of the players, "Am I going to do anything as good as that?" But can I get back better than the meerkan? Do you ever do like the fullback steps in the midfield? You know what you used to do at Manchester City? Do you? Oh okay. One game I was in the sixth next to like Kieran, Patrick, so the two best sixes in the world. And then me. Oh really? I was thinking back to remember an England game for Canada and it was at Man City's ground. Can you remember when you've lit Centre Midfield? This is, you know what? We need to have some stories of this. You know when Jules gets dropped because they're going to put Lucy in a centre midfield. Now when you get dropped, like you can take a car and you're sometimes. Yeah, I do. But when they put a right back in the centre midfield. And Lucy's gone, "Don't be known, I'm doing to you, Jill this week." And I'm like, "I'll agree to my game." Yeah, I was just feeling joking. And you remember that he basically was like single handedly campaigning for you to win everything. Yeah. And you were like, "It's like having an embarrassing bath going into interviews about you." And the world caught up in fair in the world. She's been fair in the world. Every interview was, she's the best player in the world. But to be fair, when Phil said that, that was probably the best ever ever played was that, yeah, and I didn't think I needed him or anyone else to say that. But I think down it did give me a bit more confidence to be like, maybe I am like and just went out. Yeah. Especially playing for England, just went and did whatever I wanted because I knew he would have my back a lot of time. I think when people just expect them performances from you and I think because you're standard so high, everyone just expects. So if Lucy is a nine out of ten, it's like, sometimes you don't get the plauder, it's because that's just her standard and that's what's expected. And sometimes you'll probably go, "Well, I don't need anybody." But then when you get it, it just means you're like 20, 30% because you're like, "In any job you need to feel valued, right?" So I think that the thing is, is that before Phil, I never really had that, anyone, like off of any of the coaches, and then Phil gave it and I was like, "Oh, this is how it feels to be the coach, just being brave." I've seen a lot of people and so many other people. Can I go back to actually one more thing about Barcelona because something that I've seen that is really, really cool is that you've thrown yourself into catalan culture in terms of the food just being about the place. I've got about four sentences in catalan now as well. Brilliant. What have you got? Somi, that means let's go. Bondir, bonaní, that's good morning, good night. Okay, I'll ask. All our physio speak catalan. So because I've been injured, I learnt how to say tomorrow at nine o'clock. Brilliant. I'll say thank you in catalan and please in catalan. Do you regret that you didn't learn to say tomorrow at eleven? You get that? Yeah. I only know tomorrow at nine. Somi, I've got the language right. I've two hours in bed. When we spoke to children, Kira, we asked them about the food, right? Have you seen this? Obviously she's watched all of our poll. Absolutely. I watched loads of that. When they had fallen the caterpillar and everything. Yeah. So they had the caterpillar cake and we asked them, what do you miss food wise? And I think Kira said bacon straight away. And then she had vimped toe and then. And George said beans or something. And what's brilliant is that I've seen you, I literally like the furthest opposite from that. I was stuck into the food out there. So tell us what you like. Well, this is quite bad because there's a coffee shop downstairs from mine. So when I walk in, the woman doesn't speak English and I walk in with Nala and she goes, "Oh, like waffles!" Which is like, good-mort like egg. Beautiful. Oh, there you go. I'm sexy. So that's why I keep going back for more. And then she's like, she knows my order off by art because I have a matrilatte with soy milk and like this apple tart thing. I am so buzzing with your coffee orders. I feel like a proud daughter sister. I'm like, "Oh, she has soy milk and everything." So I had to learn how to say all that and then I said all that and then now it's at the point where I walk in and she's like, "Machilatte con leche so her." And you don't even want the apple tart. I went in yesterday with the girls and she was like, apple tart and I was like, come on then. So I was thinking I don't want that. And then Kira was like, "Are you going to eat all that?" And I was like, "Well, I'm going to have to now because. " No, she always said. "I wish I'd known this story before because I would have had you a latin and apple tart." Yeah, we would have had a minute to go. I did want to give you a look at the challenge if that's OK because I've seen that you're obviously doing so much out in the Baton Barcelona. So me and my friends will often play a game where we say if you had 24 hours in London and you had to recommend an activity in the morning, somewhere to get coffee, something to do in the afternoon and then somewhere to get dinner. So over the course of the day, what would you say for Barcelona and would do yours for Sunday and dinner big? You'd eat a little like a trip advisor. Yeah, exactly. Lucy runs trip advisor presents. And someone to a coffee shop over there that someone in Barcelona recommended to me and the guy that came with me, he doesn't like coffee and he got a coffee and he was like, this is unbelievable. I can't remember the name of it. So that story was pointless. So that's number one. That's your coffee. However, all the girls, they say that the coffee in England is terrible. Did I? They haven't been to box to box. No, they haven't. They were in London, but they only got coffees from like the hotel and stuff. Whereas in, I feel like in Spain, you can get coffee from most places and it's at a decent level. Yeah. Are you a fan of the Gaudi Park? Yeah. A good fan of them. They've been there twice. I've been into. I'm a really big fan. I've been there twice. Yeah, it's not like somewhere. It's like a tourist spot. Yeah. But I went into the Gaudi, it was house as well. We've been to the Katalan musical theatre, that's pretty cool. I've got you. Yeah, I've got the answers to the book. So, to make it a bit. At the top of the hill, I've been on all the gondolas, the Olympic, I've got to come now, obviously a lot of times. Did you get some recommendations before you went? Yeah, I think I did get a few, but I didn't do all that though. I needed a gold bag. I wasn't meant to go back before end of season, they just crept up on us. That is going as a campaign for us, and it's easy for you to actually get out and go and do a podcast out there with all the Barcelona players. It's arranged there, absolutely arranged that. I've got a lot of them. You'll probably only get three of them that can speak English, but it's okay. We'll put that down. I'll get that one. We've got to come back and talk a tiny bit more about England. Just tell us how that celebration was, because you sort of became not just iconic on the football pitch, but for your glasses as well. For the sunglasses. Yeah. They sort of travelled for it. Were they like school glasses? Yeah, I don't know. George's down there got like sent like 20 odd players of these sunglasses. Yeah. So everyone just picked them up, so I just picked the peril. I think you got 22 pairs because I didn't get one. They were. And they said she's like bovard or anything. The truth is people started wearing them as Halloween costumes. Yeah, I've seen Halloween costumes of Lucy bronze and it was them sunglasses. Really? Yeah, like white t-shirt with sunglasses and like the hair tied back. But I think God, you are actually an influencer? Yeah. Half the girls had them on, but somehow I've been attached to these sunglasses. Oh my God. You are actually an influencer. You are into your fashion, aren't you? Yeah, a lot of, I mean, I think everyone is, but it's in their own way. No, everybody's into fashion. But you used to say that you won. No, I know, but I don't think I was confident enough of it. Okay. I think everybody's in the fashion. It's just we have a perception that fashion's only one way. Because I thought about this the other day when I saw you getting your MBA. You looked so sharp. Oh, the little MBA. The Barcelona girls spot was hilarious. Why? The goalkeeper was like, you look like you're about to ride a horse. And I was like, that's kind of like the vibe you will go on. The question you should go for when you like, like everybody wears a hat or like a, what they call like a fastener. Yeah. Yeah. I didn't think I could pull one of them off. I was like, everybody, everybody that was there was dressed the same as me. You have to like dress for the formal. Well, yeah, because you, you got yours in the post. Yeah. And then dress formal. Yeah, I was like this. I was like, it wasn't hoodie. Yeah. So, so you didn't get to go and get hers? No, no, no. No, because it was like two years ago. But you don't talk about it a lot. We're mentioning it every single episode. I told you, don't, I texted you didn't have a Prince William. Yeah. He's asking after you. Yeah. Do you have a tag on there? Yeah, this is going to get my MBA. He was like, how's it going? How do you think the, it's going to go for the World Cup? I'm going to FA Cup Final next week. How's Jill? I want to get the power to speak as well. Yeah, I was at the Palace this week. Oh my God, I'm really underestimated. You know, when you just kind of look at your wig and you see what you're doing in it, it was like Duke of Edinburgh Awards. You're just going to see a five minute speech. Suddenly, I'm a Buckingham Palace. There's 4,000 people in the garden. There's one of them microphones. Edward's doing the speech before us. And you know when you think Jill, read your brief. In that moment, I was like, we need no brief. I wish I'd read me no brief. And then I started talking about pressure and how cool turns into a diamond. And I was like, oh my God. Have you written this? I didn't even look at this. I don't want to talk about it. Please, come and talk about it. And the fact that I think I even had like trainers on. I didn't have a fascinating room in my hair or anything. That's just, but wasn't it, Chris? Like, have you got it on your phone? My notes, no. They give us a sheet of paper, like if you like formalities, but I didn't even do that. I didn't even do that. You still haven't had that. You just said this is the first time she's ever got here. That's what she's got. I just got the news. Not even for them palace, just for you, but yeah. Read your brief, Jill. Okay, we've had lots of your time already. Firstly, we ask for their daily grinds. The thing that drives them mad, that just happens on a day-to-day, that maybe it's only specific to you. And I can see from your smile that you've got one straight away. You know what I'm saying? It's when people breathe really loud. Wait. Who breathes really loud? Someone we've had on here, please. Yeah, it was George and Kiressy and that I do in meetings. That's what they said. They're like, don't sit next to Jill and I mean. She's been showing me this and this and this and this and this. Have you noticed that about? Might have medical problem, nor sinusus. Or like eating really loud. Okay. And then to finish up, because we've got to let you go, let's do spill the tea. So we'd like to know something about you. You've never said in a podcast before, or that you wouldn't normally tell people. Kiressy said that you played cello. Oh yeah. And we've got a bit of a band thing going, because Lauren Hemp plays an instrument. Sex afford. Hemp book, there's a saxophone. A power play. I think she just watched this in person. She's a deer before. She's a lion. I told people that I played saxophone and a couple interviews. And then the last one I did, they brought a saxophone out on the line. Go ahead then. And I still think mine was up there with the best, but I was first, so they give me five out of ten. Then I went last one of them. Six, seven, eight, nine, ten. Who was judging? Don Scott, I think. Was it? So we're going for saxophone. Everyone knows everything about me. I'll give you one that you have kind of said before, maybe people don't know, but the first film that you ever saw in cinema was. The Lion King, yeah. And then that is, is that why you're. Is that why your dog's called Nala? Yeah. The first concert that I ever went to was Steps. That's a good one. Oh, that is so cool. That's a tragedy. That was a tragedy. But there's no. I'm really out of that. The first concert was Steps. And I think people might know that, however, people don't know that me and my brother both died ahead to go to this. So my brother had blue streak in his head. And I think I had some like little braids and like bread, like glitter or something. And he was dressed all in blue and I was just like in a red trix. I'll definitely be able to get that picture off Diane. Yeah, a 100%. So, I've probably done some months. Wait, was your brother a huge Steps fan as well then? Yeah, so about it more than I'm out here. So, did you ever go to Steps Spice Girls and all that? That's the nearest night I listen to them. Have you met any of the Spice Girls? Jerry Hallewall was one of the Wembley Games. Yeah. I think she's me, it's with Beth. Yeah, Mead-o's like me, it's with Jerry and Emma Bunton now, apparently. Yeah. She's done that. I don't know, I don't know. Well, maybe if I check my emails and see something, I didn't get back to get about playing for you this season. But can I come back for a drink? Just for a game. Amazing. Obviously, a lot of people's perception of players is on the pitch. So I want them to get to know the player as a person. And I think today, yeah, I really enjoyed that. You know what, it's hard for me, it's haven't seen Lucy for a while, because she's in Barcelona, so I want to catch up with her properly. So these podcasts are hope, are giving people an insight into kind of what we would chat about, just having a coffee. Is that kind of you on a, like, kind of an average coffee, where you just bounce around on various things and just talk about anything and everything? Yeah, so like, usually Lucy would probably be sat with Demi and that's it and have a coffee and then you might go to another table and it's Mary and Dillesia and Tuney and that's what I love about that kind of football environment and what I am missing really, so this is kind of filling that gap for me a little bit, just having different conversations. And yeah, Lucy seems in really good spirits, doesn't she? She just, one of the things that I noticed as well, that I loved, is you always know when you're sitting down doing something like this, if someone like, proper sits into their chair and gets comfortable in your lap, this is going to be a good ride and Lucy has sat there, she was so teased, so happy. Yeah, so, so clearly, like you say, so clearly just very happy in general, just very at peace. Yeah, she seems really happy, I think, well, you must be living in Barcelona. What a football in Barcelona, living in Barcelona. She is actually living the dream, but it was quite nice to talk to her about that win and men telling at the side as well, I think for young girls, young boys listening about what it takes to be a professional athlete. And then yeah, but just kind of hearing how much she wants to win. I didn't know that. Why she does win? That was so good, the fact that she wants to win everything. Yeah. And that sort of like weird, almost addiction to winning, that is like you do it and then next thing. Next thing. Next thing. Yeah. Which makes me really excited for the World Cup. Yeah. So I think you've got people like that in that squad that are thinking like, no, I want to win this so badly. Yeah, and I don't think she's the type of person that would do a lot of reflection neither, so I think she wins and then she's actually seeing just onto the next thing, onto the next thing, onto the next thing. And I think that's what it's like, but I think eventually when she hangs our boots up, which is a good few years from now, she's still absolutely flying.
