I actually think there are a lot of Republicans on the Hill who will be happy not to have the burden of having to pass legislation, Larry. They're almost going to be relieved for a little while at least to be in the minority. I'm sorry to report that. I think that's a pretty interesting take, Josh. I disagree with the reason. She's saying that they won't want to pass legislation. I think they all know behind the scenes that a lot of people within the Republican Party do not have the guts to stand up to Trump. And it will be easier for them to cosplay tough guys when the Democrats have power. What's your take, Josh? Right. So they're saying they don't want the responsibility of having to stand up to Donald Trump. That's what they're saying. They're not saying that they want to be in the minority. That's illogical. And that's one thing we can agree on with them is that we hope that the Democrats do retain the majority. So we're in agreement there. But that says a lot about elected officials, that these people are elected, that they run on a platform, they supposedly have conviction, but yet they're scared to stand up to Donald Trump. Doesn't that just typify the entire political climate that we live in today with the Republican Party? They would rather capitulate to someone who is in the Epstein files, who has helped conceal his involvement with Jeffrey Epstein. They're afraid of that man. It's incredible, especially when you think about during the Nixon era, it was his own party that took him down. Pumps, I want to get your take on this. This was just hilarious. So the Daily Beast is reporting that J.D. Vance tried to sabotage Trump. And the headline is, J.D. Vance funneled secret anti-Trump dirt to his sworn enemy. J.D. Vance secretly funneled advice to Hillary Clinton on how to beat Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential race, according to The Insider. They interviewed J.D. Vance's staff about this, and they didn't deny it at all. So the 180 that this man continues to make all the time, I'm a Christian, now I'm an atheist, now I'm a Catholic. My name is. Jimmy Don Voodoo, and now I'm J.D. Vance. He's changed his name. And then I also think about it in terms of this. Usha and he went to Yale together, and they had a really close trans friend. And here they are, like, God, we've got to do everything in our power to make sure America's Hitler is not elected. And then this is the part where I just, I cannot relate with people that don't have anything. I don't have any conviction at all. And just 180-degree turn right to the epicenter of the Death Star. Well, I think J.D. Vance has loyalty and allegiance and conviction about being in power, proximity to power, and self-interest. And here's the thing. J.D. Vance also wrote his law review article about immigration and how it's so stunning, the turnaround. But here's the thing. J.D. Vance, you did not deny this, and we all know it's true, because you called him America's Hitler. So that would just make sense that you would be trying to run against him. But now you have chosen to throw your wife and children under the bus. You have chosen to throw your state under the bus. And you have completely capitulated to Peter Thiel, who's a complete fucking nut. And so you stand up there and say, oh, this war is so great. When we all know behind the scenes, you wanted to go on Joe Rogan about the Epstein files, but you're towing the company line. And at the end of the day, Trump will fuck you. You are covered with MAGA. You are covered in a big, fat shit sandwich of MAGA and all the things you have done. And now to add to the fuck over that you're in, you're the fraud czar in the king administration of fraud czars. So I love this for him. I would add just briefly that this article also mentions that J.D. Vance is a fraud czar. J.D. Vance says that I hate Hillary Clinton. I just hate Donald Trump more. So J.D. Vance is slowly entering Ted Cruz category. He's slowly entering that same sphere of likability. All right. Meanwhile, Trump does a sundowner hour master class in the Rose Garden. And I just want to remind everybody when we watch this, this is a sitting president of the United States. This is a man who's sleepy Joe Biden. This is a man who picks on everybody for their appearance. And this is who the Republican Party, this is who 77 million people voted for. And none of what you're about to see is new. Perhaps this has just been so normalized and I don't find any of this entertaining at all anymore. There's a time period where Trump can be somewhat entertaining because he's just so crazy. The display of his mental illness and narcissism. The fact that there are people sitting in that crowd in the White House. And there are people that are sitting at home. People that see him and go, yeah, he represents me. That they feel that sense. Like when I see Zoran on my Instagram feed, I'm like, yeah, that's my mayor. Like I feel that attachment. Like he's really doing good things. People see Trump and they see themselves. And that is the larger symptom of this. There is a cancer in this country. The people that sit at home and watch a news channel, Fox News, that they know lies to people. But they would rather hear. They would rather hear lies and rather hear this nonsense about a boat and electrocution and sharks. And he has this mental tick where he gets stuck on certain things. And it's just repeated over a bunch of his speeches. But I want us to widen the net more on the people who consume this stuff and identify with him as their leader and their hero. Well, I think when you look at it from that angle, these are people that are never, ever, ever, ever going to. Go any other way in terms of voting than Republican, because the racism is there for them for the taking. Their church has told them that voting for a Democrat is evil and on and on misogyny. They they love all the shit. And then they think Trump is a tough guy because he says quiet piggy to women and he calls people names. And so they think he's a big, tough guy when the reality is he is a very small man with severe disorders. And this electrocution, I watched this and I was like, I've heard this from the campaign trail. So to your point, this is not new. He just has the nuclear code. And what just stuns me is that we all. OK, that's what's Trump doing. But then you look at gas prices. You look at a forever war that we are losing in Iran. You look at the trade deficit and all of the money, the deficit going up and people coupled with that. And what they're experiencing in everyday life, affordability is a hoax and all this shit that it never clicks in that, you know, he's on the wrong track. I read an article that he has made. Donald Trump has made more stock trades than all of Congress combined. And yet these people that are living paycheck to paycheck that cannot buy medication and food think he's for them. And that is something that is so cult like. I don't know how I really. honestly don't know how you deprogram from that. that. Agreed. Okay. And then, you know, there's a lot of critique of Saudi Arabia for multiple, multiple different things. But one of the things they've been doing recently is called sports washing. They are investing in golf tournaments. They're trying to buy into tennis tournaments to wash their reputation from the regime that funded 9-11, from the regime that murdered journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who was critical of them, put him in a tub of acid and then poured him down the drain while his fiancee waited outside the embassy. And now it appears the FBI is engaging in sports washing. Pop this up. Kash Patel yesterday says, congratulations to our newest FBI National Academy graduates session, 299 represented by 265 law enforcement officials. This session is historic. FBI was honored to be joined by one of the best supporters of law enforcement in the country, Shaq, I'm talking about Shaquille O'Neal, who graduated with this session and became an honorary FBI special agent. Josh, you're a criminal defense attorney that represents a lot of young African-Americans and you're abundantly aware of what the FBI is currently doing to dismantle civil rights stuff. Would you please speak to our audience about the dangers of this sports washing and Shaq's participation in this? This was one of the more disappointing stories. I think this is a huge, huge mistake for Shaquille O'Neal. He's built up a lot of trust in the African-American community. A lot of kids look up to him. Both our sons love Shaquille O'Neal. I think universally, he's very well respected, very well liked. And for him to go in this sports washing, this normalizing, for him to go to this FBI, this particular FBI agent under this administration, let's not forget an administration that is cloaked in racism. For decades by Donald Trump. Let's not forget these five boys in New York in the 1980s. Anytime you go and do something like this and normalize this, that means you're adopting the people that are in charge and their policies. And he didn't use this as a chance to make a message and gain any leverage over their policies. He just went for a photo op to get a fake toy badge. Extremely disappointing. I work day in and day out in the criminal justice system. I sat in on court dockets and you see young African-Americans and young African-Americans and young African-Americans and young African-American boys that are brought in in shackles in orange jumpsuits day in and day out that can't afford lawyers that are abused in the criminal justice system. Kash Patel is not an ally of African-Americans. This administration with the two executions by ICE officers in Minnesota, they're detaining, they're mistreatment of marginalized groups. All minorities is accepted. And for Shaquille O'Neal to go and accept that, fake badge, take a photo op is a slap in the face to people like Martin Luther King and every other African-American who has worked so hard, so hard to fight for minorities rights, to fight for African-American rights. And it's extremely, extremely disappointing because what that does is it sends a message that this is okay. That what Kash Patel says and does is okay. And it ignores, it ignores the treatment of African-Americans by law enforcement day in and day out where they're targeted, they're racially discriminated against, the sentences they see for disproportionate to white sentences. We're not even talking about in federal court for years, the disparity in crack cocaine offenses versus powder cocaine offenses. There are all sorts of issues we could get into. The death penalty is used against African-American individuals far more than it is white, white people. And this probably made me angrier than any other story that we've covered today. And why he would go and do this to me is absurd. I saw that he sort of joked, made a joke about telling the FBI that they should arrest Charles Barkley, you know, being light of this instead of using this as an opportunity to say, hey, I don't approve of your policies. I wish you all would not do this, this and this. We haven't even discussed the fact that Kash Patel, he's basically abolished the civil rights division of the FBI. Well, guess what? That's the division that protects African-Americans and other marginalized groups from hate crimes. That's non-existent. And to go take a photo op with this man, it's beyond disgusting. And Shaq needs to check himself. I want to stick with this a bit because I think this is a really big story because one of the biggest stories of Trump 2.0, aside from 77 million people voting for him, is like JD Vance's 180. Marco Rubio's 180 are the people who completely debase themselves and capitulate and either passively or actively endorse this regime. The dismantling specifically of the civil rights division in the FBI, combining that with the dismantling of the Voters Rights Act in the Supreme Court. My husband has defended more people pro bono. It's constant. It's always. It's anybody calls him, they're in trouble. Josh says, don't worry, buddy, I got you. I'll be your lawyer. And he is at the courthouse, at jails all of the time. And these people need somebody to fight for them. And I want you, Josh, to speak even deeper about what you see in the American court system, in the American justice system, in the American justice system, in the American justice system, and how disproportionate it is for black boys and for white boys. Well, first of all, the number of African Americans that are either in prison or jail versus white is astronomical. And hardly any of them can afford a lawyer. And the way that prosecutors and law enforcement throw around numbers in prison, they'll easily give a young African American man 10, 15, 20 years for a drug crime. And so you sit in on these dockets. You know that I can't tell you how many times I've cross-examined a police officer that I've proven has just racially profiled an African American. And when they pull them over, you know, they've got no rights, no rights. They search their car. They do whatever it is they want to do. And then they lie about it when they come to court. And so you see these long prison sentences that these kids get. They saddle you with three or four felony convictions. Then they expect you to get out and be a, you know, a, you know, a normal member of society when you can't get a job at McDonald's. You've got second, third, fourth-year lawyers that are making these decisions, too, that have no skill set or life experiences that help guide them. And it's the whole problem is so disgusting with how we treat our people in the criminal justice system. And that's why I think this is so devastating to see Shaquille O'Neal bend the knee. Because at the epicenter of a lot of this, there's a lot of people who are in the criminal justice system. Of our experiences with the Black community center around basketball. And the biggest joy of my son's childhood, our youngest son that played basketball, have been traveling to these basketball tournaments. Josh, me, and these other parents and the friendships that we forged were incredible, absolutely incredible. And these NBA stars are bigger than just really good athletes. And this is just so devastating to see. On top of the law firms, on top of the universities, on top of the corporations, on top of other people who have bent the knee to this administration, Shaquille O'Neal went and bent the knee to an FBI director that dismantled the civil rights division of his FBI. This is horrific cultural moment. An absolute horrific cultural moment. Everybody's talking about Macklemore and Ed Sheeran, as we should. But this needs to be centered right now as well. And I hope that Shaquille O'Neal corrects course. Pumps, RFK Jr., speaking of, you know, crazy people, shares his newest priority. Play the clip. Deserve rigorous science, transparency, and answers. We're also looking at chemtrails and the impact of emissions. We're also looking at emissions from aircraft and those potential impacts on health. They're worried about air quality all of a sudden? They're not. Here's the thing. So I am like, I watch this and then I start reading like chemtrails. The first thing that pops up, a long debunked conspiracy. The science doesn't back up what he's saying. I'm like, well, I should have known that. I should have known if he's talking about it. It's some conspiracy that doesn't exist. And I agree with you. Like, now you care about climate change. Here's the thing. This man is such a dipshit. Here's what I think happens. I think he spins the wheel. Which conspiracy are we going to go down today? Which topic am I going to pick that has well-settled science, global studies on the fact that this does or does not exist or cause this or that? And then I'm going to pick that because what I want to do is make all these people even fucking dumb. And anybody that would go sit in that audience to start with, they're not, they're not, as Josh would like to say, and it's my new thing I repeat in my head all the time. These people aren't splitting that. I say, I've said it like every day this week. Well, I borrowed it from True Detective. And I would say that Robert Kennedy sounds like he's been behind one of those airplanes. He sounds like he's breathing exclusively. Yeah, that air. Yeah, exactly. But I do want to say that I think RFK Jr. is not in a silo or not saying these solitarily. What I mean by that is there is a huge, since the Facebook era, there has been this huge movement where people think they are smarter than physicians and scientists, and they've been conducting their own research. People that have not spent decades in a field geeking out over one particular subject where they have a PhD after their name, and then all of their colleagues have further backed them up. And you can look at this the same way, like RFK Jr., Nepo baby, name recognition, rich, never really had to work that much. He first gets into, and he's a huge environmentalist. He gets bored with that, and then he dives into all of these medical conspiracies, and he's not a medical doctor. And I liken it very much to the goop effect of what Gwyneth Paltrow does. Nepo baby, very talented actress, but she sets up a business where it is kind of very maha adjacent and conducting their own research about wellness. And this is something that is just exploding right now, all of this wellness maha racket where everybody's taking all these supplements and doing all. And at the end of the day, we genuinely, if we're on our deathbeds or if you get a cancer diagnosis or some sort, you want to go to an expert. You really want to go to an expert. But in the Facebook era where people are all conducting their own investigation, now we have experts that have ascended to expert positions when he doesn't know shit from Shinola, this guy. This guy's bored as shit and just in traffics and conspiracy theories. And this is what I think a lot of really rich people end up doing. They get bored because it's like, okay, I want a capitalism. And then there's this boredom. And they think, God, I'm so, I'm super, I'm superhero. I made all this fucking money. So what else can I do? Oh, I'll build rocket ships. I'm going to build AI. I'm going to do all of these things. And we just attribute too much to these people that they haven't earned. A bank account doesn't equate to being moral, doesn't equate to being intelligent. And that's part of it. That's part of the cultural problem where you have an intersection where the 77 million people think that Trump is a lot of things that he isn't because of his perceived wealth. Now he's genuinely wealthy. I mean, he robbed everybody in the presidency. But I'm going to leave you all with this and get on each of your takes on this. The Democratic consultants continue to give the absolute worst advice imaginable. Pop this up. Politico. Democratic advisors. They're warning their candidates not to go too hard at AI. Democratic consultants are privately encouraging their battleground candidates to avoid talking about AI regulations out of fear that powerful tech groups will unleash a tidal wave of spending against them ahead of November. And this is the problem with Democrats. They always give an inch. They always capitulate to right wing framing. The Democratic consultants. We should reject them. We don't want them. We need to go hard at AI. We need to have convictions. We need to stand in it. I am so sick of the consultant class. They always capitulate to exploitative capitalism. And they always capitulate to patriarchal, racist, white supremacist structures. There are candidates right now that are waiting. Way more popular than Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer combined that didn't take a cent, not one cent of corporate PAC money, that stand on business against AI. So the Democratic consultant class needs to go fuck themselves because I am so sick. And furthermore, you're the assholes that brought us Trump, right? I am not a political consultant. I don't get paid to advise candidates on how to run their campaign. But if I did, I would say, what's happening in these primaries? What are we looking at here? And I would see, oh, this is how the electorate is voting. Then I would look at certain issues. OK, super popular to talk about free child care and universal health care. And I don't know, stop sending bombs and funding the Israeli government and the Palestine, I'm sorry, the genocide in Palestine. Like voters have made themselves crystal clear. You do not have to have five PhDs from Yale Consulting School to know what voters are thinking. So and then the humor is to think, well, if we kind of back off of that, you know, even though the constituents have said over and over and over again, we hate this shit. We hate this shit. We don't like it. And that's across demographics. And then for them to say, well, we don't want to piss off the other people. You know, the big tech people. Motherfuckers, look at the inauguration stage at Donald Trump's 2.0 inauguration. These guys are they're in the hole for him. They're all the way in. They're not coming back. They don't want you in office because of regulations. And the fact that you think that they're going to support you is utter delusion. Well, the situation here is they are not guided by any of those things. They're guided by the checks that the tech oligarchs, much like AIPAC, use to hire to try to elect the most unprincipled stuff and then also pay off the opposition so they can control them. This is a controlled opposition consulting class. And the tech oligarchs and AIPAC and all of the other industries control them. Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries are under the same control of the fascist oligarchs that are funding Donald Trump. Josh, I would say two things about this. Number one, they sometimes make it really hard to want to be a Democrat. They do read articles like this. And you just think, why the fuck am I in this party? Because and the second point I want to make is basically you're telling your candidates, grooming your candidates to say, listen, if you're going to say something that's going to piss someone off, that's got deep pockets, you don't need to say it. And in some ways, that makes us no different than the other side. And it's gross. Instead, and this has been proven time in and time out. If you have an official, an elected official who has conviction and who acts and votes with conviction, even if that conviction is different than yours, you garner the respect of the people. The people that vote in this country. Differences sometimes are OK if you vote your conscience, if you vote the way that you feel instead of catering and crating to these big money organizations. And it drives me crazy to see this vote conviction. So what if you're one term, two terms, whatever? Follow your conscience. I hate these stories. It makes me not want to be a Democrat. It truly. And this is why this is why the Democratic Party is polling so low because of this consultant class. Yeah, this consultant class is so out of touch with where the Democratic Party is. And furthermore, it's a reason that a podcast like ours is so popular politically. Three people from Oklahoma City, normal people that have had normal jobs talking about politics because we're more in tune with what works and what doesn't. And these people go into. These focus groups and they do all this stuff. And then they have their people that are funding them. And by the way, the consultant class, it's a big profit racket to these people make millions of dollars. And so a lot of these oligarchs go and try to control messaging. And what I have to say about the consultant class is they are preservationists. They want to preserve the post Citizens United electorate, which makes them preservative. Preserve, conserve, which makes them very conservative. These are not FDR style Democrats. The people desperately want that. And Democrats are never going to have a supermajority again unless their policies deliver materially for human beings. And this is why Bernie Sanders work of standing with his convictions decade after decade after decade. His message doesn't change. He set the psychological soil in the electorate for Azor Unleashed. Without him educating us and not bending to corporate corporate messaging, it's like, OK, this is right. This shit is failing. And this message is right. And now we see all of these beautiful candidates being born out of this. And I hope they all win. Abdul El-Sayed. I'm completely obsessed with Angie Nixon in Florida. I think she is one of the best Democrats on the ballot. This woman is a single mother. She is a black woman. her ability to be on the campaign trail right now and smile with all the racism that's been hurled at her by Laura Loomer and others is just inspirational. And so Angie Nixon, and we had her on the podcast, she stands on business. She knows what it's like to be a hardworking American. And I want a Democratic Party that props up good candidates, not puppets. I think we're all sick of prostitutes. I'm tired of being governed by, I would much rather be governed by real sex workers because I think they'd be far more in touch with the prostitutes like Chuckles and Hakeem that take money from the same pimps that fund Donald Trump. And then they want to tell us, well, this is how you get elected. You fucking lost to Donald Trump. I mean, you know what I mean? Like, I mean, that was a layup to win both of those.
