term injury could be out for the season reportedly and we are here to react I probably should pick up my energy level a little bit but this is genuine disappointment here for you know for everyone especially for Jackson darkness kid cannot catch a stinking break welcome to fantasy football today it's a bonus episode here is we're going to react Adam David Jamie here well I think you got to pick up James Winston over Mario to now Jamie >> Yeah I had it that way in the column we you know certainly showed that graphically I don't know how much it was you came across discussing it but I mean that we don't know the extent of Jane Daniel's injury either yet so that could you know put them in the similar similar standing but yes James Winston is going to be the starter for the foreseeable future maybe for the rest of the season not officially out for the year but it sounds like he said it to season ending surgery so you love to see dark come back at the end of the year and maybe shows some signs of still being the fantasy break out candidate that he was going into the season but he's not going to help fantasy managers most for most of this year so in redraf leagues you know maybe stashman and I our spot just to see but I think this is a guy we're going to end up dropping and then hopefully James can come in and do some of the things that James has been known for which is giving his receivers chances to make plays giving us some you know great fantasy performances but also frustrating us with lots of interceptions several big sixes and you know not always being the most competent quarterback will see how long our boss sticks with him you know if they decide to go and another route as well I just think that James is a must add in super flex and to quarterback leagues and with dark being out and Daniels being out in Caleb Williams being out for a long ever long he's going to be out now taste tightest agents out also you know you might be looking at James in one quarterback leagues also and if you're in a super flex league and you don't need a quarterback it's really not a bad idea to go out and get that next one anyway give you some depth give you maybe a player you can trade for something better than what was on the waiver wire so you know like I don't need James Winston in my super flex league I'm going to put in a bid I'm probably not going to put in as much as someone who need to I'm not going to get him I think because the Jackson Dark manager is probably going to unload but whatever we'll see never know you never know Dave all right so listen James Winston when he took over for seven starts in 2024 with Cleveland he was on pace for nearly 5,000 yards and 29 touchdowns and of course 29 interceptions his past gestures I mean Jerry Judy was on pace for over 1900 yards unbelievable stuff Cedric Tillman in his three healthy games was on pace for almost 10 to nine and a half targets 1200 yards 17 touchdowns he had caught a touchdown a game and only three healthy games Elijah Moore was on pace for 141 targets was okay and a joke who kind of struggle I don't think he was fully healthy but you know the question is is this even that big of a downgrade for the Giants past catchers man I hope neighbors is as good as those guys I buy into James Winston style of play Jamie talked about it he's and he's an all or nothing type of quarterback where do I have it I've got in my notes he's like the lowest among qualifiers in rate of passes at or behind the line of scrimmage and second highest on throws of 10 plus area arts so he's he's willing to sling it he's he tried to do it as recently as last night Mollick neighbors was real close to catching a contested catch and what's the atomic Duffy knocked it away at the last second there will be opportunities for huge numbers for the receivers in New York but it's really primarily Mollick neighbors who were worried about there and Isaiah likely likely probably would have a better game if they had it next week because it just looked like the timing was off between Winston and likely I'm mildly encouraged and I might even say that I'm excited for at least this week to see what we've got with James under center against Tennessee that's team that can't put pressure on the quarterback they play a lot of zone coverage there should be ample opportunities for both of those guys neighbors and likely to put up big numbers and then we can take it from there about whether or not they're sell high candidates or guys that you just continue to roll with each week with Winston at the helm so the the one concern would be is an atom if you have in front of you I know Dave has his his laminated sheet that the schedule coming up for the giants is not exactly very daunting and so what we've seen from James mostly uh he's made nine starts since 2024 he's been on bad teams and I don't think the giants are a great team but I think the giants are going to be in these games or favor in some of these games certainly this week being one of them we saw a very conservative game plan I know dark how to get this game but he ran for 54 yards so we saw a conservative game plan for for dart in week one and I just wonder if that's going to be sort of the mantra of not putting James in the spots that we're used to seeing him have a ton of success especially in these games like when they play Dallas that's going to be the case Washington not the same team right now um you know uh I just don't know like if he has to do a lot of these similar type of things that we're used to I hope he does well that's great I mean the giant secondary right now is in shambles brine yeah but I'm like again what's what's the schedule coming up because yeah it's interesting this week so like I could see it this week with Tennessee like think about this way over under 30 pass attempts this week for James against under I would agree Arizona next week under over I'd say over at Washington under I think he's going to go over most weeks I think he's going to go over most weeks to he's got New Orleans after that and then he's at Houston in week seven and then there's a buy and then the schedule does get a little rockier but short term yeah there's a lot to like here and in the playoffs Detroit and Dallas in weeks 16 and 17 now listen first of all we said it could be dart could be dart and and Winston I can't see him losing this job unless they make a trade because they have nothing behind him basically but jackena quarterbacks who turn the ball over lose their job and he's probably going to turn the ball over now neighbors I didn't mention this on the show on Tuesday morning but I should have try McDuffie did a great job on him this was a true shadow I mean he was with him most of the routes and and neighbors just wasn't really winning against McDuffie in my opinion so that was a tough but he's not going to have that kind of quarter cornerback shadowing him now if you were drafting again today in what round would you draft neighbors and what round would you draft scataboo and how about likely Jamie can start so neighbors by the end of it was back in round three for me I probably you know again we're putting this in a vacuum we're not taking into account every other player around him or other receivers so I'll say conservatively late round three early round four okay slight downgrade just because who knows how this will all play out scataboo I was concerned about so he was around five picked for me so I'll probably just keep him around five and likely I think still round eightish you know tight end ten range and that's saying something right because he was tight end one in week one and then he had ten or eleven targets yesterday so it was a great start to the season for Isaiah likely so are you thinking you know you take concade and Laporta and crack well again like you know if we're if we're drafting right now I'm taking Isaiah likely over Colston Love one but we're not putting effort really yes right now I mean for weeks three yes but rest of season who do you like better oh that looks like garbage the bears just lost their quarterback yeah I'm going to take Isaiah like the giant giant giant giant to two but I think we all would take James Winston over the combination of Tyson Bayesian case kingdom I'd forgot to mention this Andrew Thomas is also hurt that's probably their left tackle he heard his his growing he came into the game with ankle injury ankle and something and he heard his growing in this I don't know I'm mixing up the injuries but he got hurt he heard his growing he came into the game with the knee and ankle injuries I don't know what the time timeline is for Andrew Thomas but that's a huge deal for them their star left tackle all right you know I think when you when you you know it's there's not a Cooper rush situation it's put it that way this is not the giants are going to fold and be terrible but I wish it were dart I could see it being better with James but he did look so bad last night they I guess you have to wonder is he just he's old now I mean I know you're shaking your head Dave and I am too and he clearly wasn't prepared for that game and to go cold off the bench to looking right into the eyes of Aaron Donald that was not I know he's supposed to be prepared to do that stuff I don't think he was whatsoever and I don't think that it's fair to judge him solely off of that when this dude's been in the league a long time and and maybe he should have been far more prepared because he's been in the league a long time but I think the easier matchups mean something and I think the track record of what he did last year with the giants the year before that with the Browns should carry a little more weight now if we get to next week and he's completing 40% of his throws and he's way off target can't even complete 10-yard throws then obviously it's it's going to be too late to get anywhere close to fair value for neighbors or likely and B you can pretty much expect to right off the entire season for New York. I don't think that's going to happen. Yeah, someone commented that the stat of almost being on pace for 5,000 yards with 29 touchdowns and 20 interceptions is wild. And then I'll remind you that in 2019, James Winston threw for 5,109 yards in 16 games with 33 touchdowns and 30 interceptions. Yeah. I mean, it's 30, 30 year. It's so, James, he's given us phenomenal. They were they were so in love with them. They got Tom Brady the next year. Yeah, but he's been great for wide receivers. I mean, at different points in his career, the best of Jerry Judy, and that was probably a huge season for goblin and Evans. I'm guessing that 29 season. Oh, yeah. So it's possible. Just hope he looks better. Doesn't throw the running backs at time. I should point that out. I was also just having years ago. Yeah. This puts in very deep leagues, Darnamuni on the radar. He had a little bit of a connection with him last night. And that's the type of play that could be like the Cedric Tillman, if you're talking about, you know, comparing it to the Browns, he's not going to do Godwin, Evans type things, but just because if James gets in the Yolo mode, he's going to lean on his receivers. And it seems right now that when he's ahead of Malachi Fields, but Fields also is in the same scenario of dark throw, maybe benefit, maybe benefits because of James. But the hope is just look, they get in some, you mentioned that the secondary is a mess right now. I don't think they're going to be such a disaster for the majority of the season. We'll see about Burns because that hurts the past rush. How long he's out? But if they do get in a lot of shootouts, then we're looking at the best of James. So you want to see James in that 35 plus past attempt range. You want to see him having to sort of carry the offensive load because of either score or run game struggling or both. I just think the flip side of that is you know that Harbott is going to try and be as conservative as possible. I was not put James in those situations. So when they're in these games against mediocre offenses or struggling offenses or defensive type games, I think we could see a scenario where James just isn't at his best. But look, nobody's, nobody should be viewing it right now as James is the number one quarterback to go get in one quarterback league. James is the guy that's going to save your fantasy team. James is the best one to one replacement for Jackson Dart on your fantasy roster. There should be guys out there that are in a little bit better spots, either on a short term. Like we talked about earlier today with CJ Stroud and Gino Smith and their matchups. Obviously Bryce Young, Kyle Murray. And if you're not sold on James and you want, you know, especially four points for passing touchdowns, Mario does his last eight starts four games with 40 plus rushing yards. So, you know, he might be better in those type of formats. They're both the same age by the way. So, you know, he's looking at two guys that once upon a time was the debate who should be the better fantasy quarterback. And here we are in 2026. The first and second pick thing was what 2017 draft 2016 draft. You know, here we are with those two guys back still starting again for a fan for a fan NFL teams in 2026. 2015 draft. All right, I'm going to end with these questions. Likely or Shultz rest of season. Likely. These are the chat questions. Likely or a fan and. Likely. Likely is top six still in the trade chart. Should I drop Michael Penix for James Winston? Um, league or super flex? Go with super flex. Maybe it's got to be super flex. Right. Why would you even carry them both? I'm not, I'm not dropping either one. I'm dropping somebody else because if it's a super flex or two quarterback league, I'm carrying both these guys and trying to trade one. Well, who'd you rather have then? I would rather have. I think I'd rather have James. I'm starting golden over neighbors. I need to see it before I trust it. Don't hate that at all. I have a rank that by almost 10 spots. Right. It's closer for me, but I don't know. I'm sorry. I'm thinking of Watson. I do have golden rank that of neighbors. Yeah. Uh, James is a Yolo weekly start. Yeah. He's fun. Yeah. Good for DFS. Would you trade neighbors and concade for Javante Williams? No. No, it's way too much for Javante. Would you drop likely for Gadsden Ferguson or Waller? No. And what are the chances that giants make a move? I think slim. So one of their beatwriters, Gary Myers suggested that they trade for J.J. McCarthy. That's, you know, I, I don't think he's a beatwriter though. I think he's like a columnist. A columnist. I'm sorry. So, you know, one of the, one of the members of New York media, um, suggested trading for J.J. McCarthy. Like that's, I think if you had a veteran quarterback that was dealing with an injury and on his way out of the franchise, like, I'm guessing Minnesota is not just giving away J.J. McCarthy. They might be, but they would have already. I'd rather James. I'd rather James has a decent contract here. I mean, they have him for a reason. Um, so I don't know that they're going to, I'm thinking no. What's his contract to your extension? Yeah, they just extended them to your extension. I think the, I think the, I think the thing that you could see if James really stinks is like, does Harbaugh go make a move to get Flakko back, you know, off of Cincinnati's bench, you know, that type of thing of someone he's familiar with, or does Nagi go get somebody that he's familiar with, like a gardener mentioned, you know, Trubisky. Right. I mean, I don't think Trubisky's in play though, because he's the backup in Tennessee. They don't have any. Well, I mean, you could, you could, you could potentially see him, you know, see them go to Arizona, get Mintru, who's just with Nagi and, yeah, that's true. All right, guys, that'll do it. The Eagles? No, no, no, um, I'm going to, you know what, I'm going to go, uh, I'm going to go with my hometown team. I'm going to be a dolphins fan this year that you're everything. What, uh, how do you feel? Because you just, you know, had one of the greatest victories of your life with the next. Yeah. And now the giants are probably going to struggle. I don't know how the Yankees finish, but, you know, judges banged up going in playoffs. You have your hurricanes, but we'll just keep it to the pro, pro situation. Like, do you, do you get just a little bit of a, my, my, my, one of my favorite teams one, I can deal with this disaster? Um, you know, it's, the giants have only been good like once in the last 10 years or something, and that was a really fun year. It, it would made the fall, it made the season, even more fun. So I'm a little upset that they're back to being not just bad, but they're probably going to be like unwatchable. You know, no, James is much watch. No, no, they look so incompetent yesterday. But with your eye, you probably can't see it together. Must watch. Uh, I'm disappointed, but, you know, it's football, you know, we have, we have more important things in life to care about. But, um, now you get a better draft, pick them. I'm so tired of it. I'm just tired of it. I really think you got to ask yourself if you're the giants like this loaded quarterback class. If they have a terrible year, what do they do? This dart look pretty good, but can you rely on this guy? No, you're, you're, you're all in on dart. I don't, I don't think you have to be the guy. I can't stay healthy. So let's just say they don't win another game and you're picking in the top three. The, the, oh my god, the story aligns. You, of course, you take archmaning. You take archmaning over Jeremiah Smith? If you're the giants? Yes. No way. Oh, you think because of, I got it because of man. Yeah, maybe. I mean, I would, you're out of the dart business. You're trading jackson dart for whatever you can get. You can, you can get a first or a second round pick for him. You can't get a first. You might, I mean, he looks like a first round player. He might win. He's on the coming off of a bad knee injury. And yeah, probably second. I don't even know if a second will get it done. You might have to kick him. Oh, come on. For a third, your quarterback who's been this good. He's been so good that go into the blue medical time. I like, I like the guy. I think he's talented, but I'm thinking like what an NFL team would say back to the giants if they tried to acquire dart. That's what they throw in your face. For you to say, they're unwatchable with Jamis Winston. Like, that's just crazy. Maybe not. Maybe not. He's the most fun quarterback to watch. They were unwatchable yesterday. I'll tell you that. Well, I mean, you know, like Dave said, he wasn't, he wasn't expecting to be in that spot. That's tough, tough place to be. Over under three and a half pick sixes for the season. That is so many pick sixes. Then you have seven and one year? Yeah. I don't know how many James did. I'm about to Google those. All right. How many pick sixes did Jamis Winston throw in a season?
