It was a long run, though. Yeah, it is, though. I just started growing wide and I talked, so I had to shoot and I slowed down. How many people come up to you and ask you to do that dance? Oh, we. Yo, what's up? Welcome back, everybody. It's another episode of Chase and Owen. I'm your host, Jamar Chase, with my special co-host, Annie Agar, my good friend, T Higgins. In this episode, we have a special guest. Guys, please welcome a two-time national champion, a three-time pro-bola, multi-time, all pro. The number one ranked interior defender in football and the pink power ranger of Death Valley will explain that later, the one and only since Natties. Texter Lawrence. What's going on, Dice? Welcome to the show, brother. Appreciate you coming. Thank you. Yeah. For sure. I was wondering what everybody was coming. Nah, man. I wanted you to get welcome from home to San Scene. You know what I'm saying? Get comfortable. I didn't want you to go to early, you know what I'm saying? I wanted you to get a sense of that in the neutral belt, feel the city, feel the team, you know what I'm saying? So, you know what I'm saying? With that being said, you know what I'm saying? - You're my brother. - He's, he's, he's my brother too. - What's up, man? - I'm just going on. - Yeah, I'm just going on. - I'm just going on. (laughing) - Clemson boys, huh? - Next story, I do have to say, you are other than T, other than T, you are probably the most requested in the comments person to come on the podcast. - That's what you were saying. - Yeah, yeah, get them on, gotta get them on. - That was good to be here, I'm just-- - You gotta get them on. - Yeah, like you said, I'm just embracing the city, man. It's the noise, I remember we went out for that one practice. We had to, got the lady, they had to go back out when we was raining and had a little roar. It wasn't that many people, so I couldn't wait. To week one, we ran out there and just, just heard the roar. - And they called y'all out first? - I did not know that you was gonna hit the dance of the intro. That's what we all said, oh yeah, that's cold. - You all did do that too? - Yeah, I run, yeah, I run out, it's just, you know, it's just ready to shine. - Yeah, yeah, I feel happy, I feel happy. - It was a long run, though. (laughing) - Never run, from the interest to y'all was long, I just know. - 50 yards. - Yeah. - It's 60 yards. - 60 yards. - Yeah, 60 yards. - 60 yards. - Dexter, what was your first impression of Cincinnati of the team and these guys? - It was good, man. They opened me with welcome arms. It felt like home early, you know, it gives me Southern vibes. I like that a lot, and I like that a lot on home. This duck dog, you know, is about work, not too much to do. I mean, I think that's a good hit. (laughing) - You said Southern vibes? - Yeah. - You know I'm from the South, right? So you got me with that a little bit. Why you say that, though? It's just how laid back it is. - And quiet. It's a lot of greenery. You know, I was in Jersey, didn't you? - That's what I'm saying, yeah. - Everything's packed with-- - Yeah, honestly, though, like I hear it's surprisingly, a lot of places like show good hospitality. - Yeah. - You know what I mean? Like it is, like we is in the South, so. - For real, yeah. - In the accents we get in me. - Yeah, where? - The accents don't be that. - And they're like, what up, though? - No, me, it's not. - No, you perfect. What up, come? (laughing) - That's what they say in the Midwest is we have kind of that Southern, I mean, that's Midwest-nice is what they call us up here, but I don't know about an accent. I don't think I have one, but that's also in Chicago, so. - Yeah. - What about these guys on the couch, Dex? What was your impression of, your first impression of Jamar and T? - First time you met him. - Yeah, I mean, you see him on TV, shining, but I like to know the process and, you know, being in a locker room with them, chatting it up with them, just watching them work. You grow more of our appreciation of, you know, who you with and who you get to play with, so that just makes you want to work harder, me personally, and, you know, be there for them and make sure I'm taking care of my business. Eat some pros, and I got a lot of respect for him for real. - Appreciate it. - Appreciate that. - Yeah, thanks. - You know, they said the same thing about you and how you kind of brought some energy to the defense into this team, so it's mutual, I think. - Yeah, no, for sure. - I mean, he won't even know the impact he making, you know what I'm saying? He just coming in and working with himself every day. I saw you guys and did. - I'm in a moment right now. - Yeah, he won't even know what he bringing. That's all, just be himself. That's it. - What surprised you guys about him, because you're a very kind of soft-spoken guy, but that's not really the case when you were mic'd up, as we all saw recently. So, before we get into the mic'd up stuff, what do you guys think of Dexter and did he, was he different than what you expected, or what was the thought there? - I mean, for me, they've been on each other. - I was like, they've been on each other. - They've been on each other. - For me, I said it on the show when the first time I met him. He was just soft-spoken, you know what I'm saying? From the first time we met, and I know my first time when I meet a lot of people be telling me they don't understand what I'm saying, 'cause I slurred my words, so I'd be having to slur it on a lot. But for him and that wasn't the case, you know, he was just, you know what I'm saying? He was just cool dude from jump, you know what I'm saying? He came in right away. I think the first time I try to talk a little smack to him, at practice, I don't remember that. He was like, I don't mess with Lil' Doos. I just stop messing with, I just walk away. He came up to me that day, he was like, better than it. That dude, Dex just told me, I don't mess with Lil' Doos. (laughing) I didn't know how to take that. - I ain't gonna take that. - No, but I'll be messing with everybody, but I ain't gonna mess with Dex, man. He didn't tell me, shut up, that's Dex. (laughing) - That's where that trash shocking comes in. And I wanna get to that second. But the Steelers game, we were talking about this. We have to go through it real quick. But I think there was one point during the game that you kind of fell on Aaron or tripped over him or something, did he say something to you and that? - Yeah, yeah, he was a little upset. It wasn't on purpose, I don't think. (laughing) I was just running to the ball, trying to, try to make sure him get a good throw off then. He fell down and I just tripped over him. - What happened? - It happens, it happens. Listen, the wedding boys hit after the play, I was like, yeah, go ahead, bro. I literally hit some go ahead, bro. - It was good to feel the feel that rivalry. I was trying to embrace it all week, you know, just get it under my belt, understand what it was. - Not serious. - That Steelers game and Cleveland games, I wanna say they like that. I don't think, I ain't gonna say Baltimore games like that, Baltimore games in tents. But I don't know, some Brooklyn Steelers game and Cleveland games that it just be like that, bro, I don't know. - It's just the city, the fans. - Yeah, I don't know. - I feel like the fans really don't like those two teams, you know what I'm saying. I feel like they just make the rivalry more than what they've been in the years, you know what I mean. Obviously, you got the two in-state rivals, you know what I'm saying? Cleveland, you know, in Cincinnati, that's always gonna be a battle, but the interest that Pittsburgh Cincinnati games is crazy, you know. - It was loud though. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, they was raving them in town. - That was probably one of the louder stadiums you'd play there. - Yeah, it was up there, it was up there. - I'm only saying that 'cause that was probably the loudest we thought it was since we played the, I said that to myself. I was like, that was kind of loud. - It was up there, you guys, you got some deaths almost. - I'm just saying that 'cause usually it don't be that, it don't be that, it don't be like that, but that game was just fun though, ain't gonna lie. - How was it compared to the Cowboys and the NFC East rivalries compared to the episode? - Yeah, that's what I was trying to feel. You know, I was in New York for so long, you know, when the games come on, the Cowboys, you know, the Eagles, they, you gotta get ready. So I was trying to see if it was like that, you know, and it had a little taste of that. - Yeah. - I didn't taste of that, I enjoyed it, I had fun. - Yeah. - I feel like it's probably for every team, but they got that one or two rivals, that, that's, yeah, that's crazy, you know. - We can tell his fans too, I mean, I know you guys, you guys feel it, but their fans actually hate each other, it's, it's a real thing. Speaking of hate, this is, this is a great segue. Dexter's trash talk on the field, that Mike Depp segment, might have been my favorite thing that I watched so far this year. At one point, you said it's a blessing to share the field with you, I believe. - We got to break this down, was that scripted, or was that just a, in the moment thing, what was, what was going on there? - That was just in the moment, I really don't know what, what I'm gonna say, how I'm gonna say it, it just, it just, it just flows, you know. And, you know, young guy I was talking, I didn't even keep talking, so I just need to be quiet. - Well, it's from a wise man, bro, that's what all of this. When you try to talk, you really don't know what you're gonna say, it just, it's just, - Come out. - Yeah, where's the next? - Not for real. - There was one in my favorite, somebody, I can't remember who it was. I think it was Josh Allen, but if somebody had tackled him or something, and he just had the guy turn around, so you could see what his name was, because he didn't know the name of the player. What is it like, that's pretty good, right? - Yeah, I've never heard of that before. - I did not see that. - I think it was Josh Allen. Yeah, this was a year ago, maybe, it was hilarious. But what's, do you have a favorite diss on somebody, or something, what's your go-to, usually? My go-to, probably, you're gonna have to earn your paycheck just game, because I liked that. - You know what I'm using that? - Yeah. - I told you he said, bro, I remember, bro. Zay, it was like, bro, Dex told a dude, he's gonna have to earn his paycheck today. I said, he said, what? He said, yeah, bro, and I swear to you, he would crazy that game. - That came from me, Christian and Kyle, Christian really taught me how to talk, John. Kyle, we used to walk-- up to the line and just be like, "You ain't getting drafted off this tape." So I had to upgrade and add it like, "Yeah, that's funny." That's funny. You be trash talking to the quarterbacks after you sack? Sometimes. Sometimes. It depends who it is. It's sometimes. I like going out to the big guys, they got in my way to get there. There's quarterbacks you think talking the most trash to you. Baker, you got to be, you got to watch what you're saying to him. You got to watch what you're saying to him. You don't know what he's going to hit you with. I don't know what they're going to say to him. No filter. I watch how I say things to him. I can see that. I can see that. What about Trevor? Is that your guy? Right? Is he? He's not. No. He's not going to say much. No. I can't. You played with him? He was going on. You were winning. He won, too. But his last time winning. That was his freshman year. Yeah, Trevor. That's what I'm saying. That was my freshman year. Yeah. You only really played one year in college, though. Don't look at me. Are you telling me you're the same year with me? That's impressive. That's impressive. Logan. Pretty much. I had one for you. My sophomore year was like my year that I started. Yeah. I did. Basketball version. Football, right? No, for real. My freshman year, but I was competing with four different people for one position. Terrence Marshal, Ray Smith, Matt D. Anderson, bro, and me, we all fighting for exposition. JJ was at Z. So it was hard. It was hard, bro. It was hard, bro. It was hard, bro. It was hard, bro. It was hard. I was fighting. And then, you know what I'm saying? That Kovie you came. Tagging up. Poo. Got to go. Let me tell you, bro. Let me tell you. Let me tell you. I was trying to go back, but I ain't going to lie. When I seen that Missouri game. My people tell you my edge and tell you, bro, I was at home watching the Missouri game. I called my edge. I said, bro, I'm going to play football. So it was real, bro. Was you going to wear number seven? You was, right? Yeah, I was in seven a year. Yeah, I had seven a year. And that's like a special thing for your school? Yeah, that was, that's like the number they give you. You know I'm saying that's like the captain number they give you. So I had that number. I had it all all the way until, uh, who was it? To decide how to play them up. You got it, bro. You got it, bro. You got it. You got it. You got it. Yeah, you got it. You got it. Backstreet, did you play? Did you play basketball, too? Yeah. Did you play in the other sport? I played, I played a little basketball. I threw in track. I was like, basketball was really like my joint. And so I just started growing wide and not tall. So I just slowed down. You coach told me to stop. Yeah, yeah. I wasn't going to any football camps. I was just playing a season and then in the summer playing basketball. He was like, listen. He was like, you need to start going to these camps. So I didn't really start going to camps until. My junior year. High school. High school, yeah. Well, you got your first offer. Freshman? [laughter] You scared me. You scared me. You got it. You got it. You got it. What? So would you, you played a down yet and got offer? You wanted those kids. They ain't never played a down. They got offer. No. So my, my freshman year, I played, my coach had to keep coming back to my house in the summer. Like, come out here. Give it a shot. I gave it a shot. He put me on JV. He was like, what position do you want to play? A defensive line. I didn't know much. Yeah. But I know I didn't want to play a whole line. Yeah. I couldn't be a running back no more. So. [laughter] So I was like, do you mind? Went out there. Then come back for like a few days. He come to my house again. Like, well, you been. I was like, coach, it was just too easy. [laughter] Damn. So he was like, come to varsity. And for the year and see how you feel. So I did it. I had a good, like, okay, freshman year. Yeah. We got to offer it. Nah. You ain't having a okay in a good office of freshmen. [laughter] How big was your freshman year? I was, freshman year, I was like 300. Damn. Hey. Stop it that. Stop it that high school. I see why you got the office. Yeah. Yeah. So you ain't going to cancel your gym. You didn't need to. Yeah. By the time I have it, junior. Yeah. But you was doing that to Weston in shape and stuff. Um, I guess just more exposure. More exposure. Okay. See it goes out there. Like, I didn't visit a lot of schools. Visually, probably. You, you was, you was bigger to that star stuff. Like the rankings. At one point, I was number one. But like, I, I would see it. I wouldn't like feeding to it. Damn. For real. I just, I just just kept just doing what I do. [laughter] He was a lot of most people. Yeah. I feel that. What would you say your best year so far is, I mean, other than obviously this year. But is there a year of your career that sticks out as algebra pro? I did, I looked back, probably like a month ago. And looked at like my freshman year of college. And see, like, I, I won some awards. I'm like, I won that award. I was, I could do that. [laughter] I said, oh, okay. All right. That was, that was pretty, that's pretty cool. Yeah. Right. You got like a little trophy room and stuff at home? Uh, yeah. I could like like these elephants. That sounded like an art room. [laughter] It kind of set up like art a little bit. Okay. I mean, my wife, we like right under the elephant, what was it like captain this year? Like, okay, okay. Like, you know, freaking, getting all pro. Got an elephant for that. Okay. So I try to collect it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. That's different. No, that's, that's like pushing you for a time shift. It's like, I ain't gonna say you're okay, but it's like, I like it new. Yeah. I know what you're saying. Yeah, where? So what part around your career you started to come up with the sexy dexie dance? [laughter] No, for real, that was like rookie year. Like, so, it was a preseason game, wasn't planned, and we was in New England. And I'm dancing, like, whatever on the side of the line doing the dance. Yeah. And say, Kwan look at me, like, yo, that needs to be your sack dance. [laughter] But like, over the years, like, I got, I got sacks my rookie year. Over the years, I just kept getting lower and lower. Like, did I wear my hips? I got my hips kept loosening up. So, I kept getting lower, and then, you know, probably, like, year four, I really had a good year, getting a lot, like, maybe seven to half. Yeah. Then I was doing it more. People started seeing it more. Yeah. And you in New York? Yeah. Yeah. That is good. That was good. So, yeah. I was a progiano in those cereal box doing that shit. They got to picture you. I know, man. I don't know. You want something like that? It's coming. It's coming. Manifest. Yeah. You're going to get your little crutch bar. You have to answer it. What quarterback was your first sack? Mr. James Winston. James Winston. Did he say anything after you sacked him? - Ooh, six. - Seven. - Seven. - He's still close. (laughing) - Close. - That's okay. How many bench press reps did you do at the NFL Combine? - 36. - Yeah. - Yeah, 36. (laughing) - I messed up my count. - Hey, hey, I'm almost, I'm actually strong though. Hey, oh no, I was almost at 30. - Yeah. - Yeah, I know, I remember seeing it. - I was at 27, I was almost at 30. I could have kept going with T, but I say, I'm gonna let the big boys look big. (laughing) - I wanted to hoop at the NFL Combine. - The good that, huh? - Yeah, I wanted to play basketball at the Combine. - You were worried about no weights. - No weights. - No weights. (laughing) - I was getting, uh, switch out the weights for the jump shot. (laughing) - That's very crazy. - Okay, last question. How many total tackles did you have in your senior year of high school? - Ooh, wait. - That's the total? - Yes. - Get us a 47. - Ooh, much higher. - Damn, you won. - No, shoot. (laughing) - No, you were crazy. - No, I do say, I probably got some of the, I probably, I watched my high school too. - Hold on, wait. - High school tape. - D2? - Not, not D2. - What day was this? - Four, four, eight. - Two, eight, eight. (laughing) - Four AA, highs in the state, you know. - What did I say, Texas? - North Carolina. - North Carolina? - Mm-hmm. - Okay. - I look at my tape, I'm like-- - Five. - I have some pretty good high school tape. (laughing) - North Carolina. - I ain't never, I don't really know about that player in North Carolina. High school, actually, I don't know. How your competition was out there, it was real? (laughing) - I'm asking, I'm just kidding, man. I'm just kidding, man. Listen, listen, listen up there, man. - I'm not just kidding. - You good as hell, I'm just asking, though, 'cause I know some, like Louisiana, we got two, three, four, five, eight. That's what I'm saying, you know. - We got chunks of them. - No, I got chunks of them. - Got chunks of them. - And some, they gotta have some people that came up, no kidding, huh? - Yeah, for sure. - That's what I'm saying. And do you know anybody that came out of that? I'm just that. - I'm one of them. - You can't. - I'm one of them. (laughing) - Hey, if you don't know what you put it on for the city, I saw that bad, I don't see it on the head of it, bro. You got that bad, bro, you're doing that bad, D. (laughing) You're doing that bad. - All right, one more question, Dexter. You're known for a little pink power ranger story. We gotta talk about that. That was a big thing. - Yeah, I don't know about this. - Break that down, break that down for the fans. Explain that one to us. - So it was my freshman year, Christian and Cleveland Austin was a year above me. So they already labeled themselves as the power rangers. And so my freshman year, they come in. Christian, look at me, like, you gotta be a power ranger. Like, you know, like, like that. I'm like, all right, like, what's the value? He was like, yellow, pink, like, green, or whatever. I'm like, hmm. (laughing) I'm looking, I'm like, I go pink for real. (laughing) Off the muscle, like, I go pink, that's cool. And so, boom, that Halloween come up. We did, like, that Halloween come up. He already ordered his power ranger suit. So he's like, why can't you tell nobody? So he rush and try to get one. And like, two days, it come in. We put on our suits, run it around down. (laughing) That's what we're talking about, it's too many of 'em. (laughing) So, oh man. (laughing) Doesn't that like Carlos life, huh? Yeah, yeah. We should do whatever. Do whatever. You got, I know you got some stories like that. No, I ain't got too many crazy stories in college, I ain't. I just remember one of Halloween, I was, I dressed up as a scientist. Hey man. Yeah. He just mad. I ain't even gonna say that. Nothing more than that. (laughing) I did something that wasn't unholy. (laughing) I had a dulce bottle. You know the cross on the dulce bottle? Yeah. That's all I'm gonna say. I didn't leave it at that. You imagine every mind could do the rest of my house the way. (laughing) All right, thanks brother. This pretty much the last thing all we got for you. I appreciate you coming. Usually all the rest of my guests, I usually have them to like a little story. You don't gave me plenty of stories. I'm not even gonna lie, I don't even know. You have any more stories, brother. You just left with the pink, the pink power angel. (laughing) If you wanna give us, probably some, I got some other story, but you do got some good stories. I'm not even gonna lie. You might as well give us another one. Man. I'm on the spot. You got something from college. Maybe something from New York. Where you get the, where you get the, I don't play with little dudes stuff from. Where you get that from. So, when I was young, I had a little temper. Like when I was, you know, early, early age. Okay. And I was bigger than people. I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't about to sit here. That's what people, man. I'm getting the best of a people. You got me. You got me. I heard so much. Yeah, I heard it. I heard it a lot. But, no, it's, it's, I think it's, I don't know. I just, I know I, I got to get through big dudes to get to them. I can't, I can't be, they got, they protect this, you know what I'm saying? I'm saying, I just, I know I, I got to get through big dudes to get to them. I can't, I can't be, they got, they protect this. I'm saying, I got to get through big dudes to get to them. I got to get through big dudes to get to them. I got to get through big dudes to get to them, I got to get through big dudes to get to them. It was such a great interview with Dexter Lawrence. Let's get into some news around the league now. All right. Well, we have to talk about the Steelers game. It is the first loss of the season, but you guys did, you guys did really well. So I have questioned about how you balance that with a loss. But first of all, let's just talk about that game, what's the locker room vibe coming off that game? Well, I'm going to be honest, we barely been in a locker room after last, to be honest, we've been in one day, but I can say one thing after the game, we had our players thing. But honestly, we going to be in a good position. I don't think we need to, you know what I'm saying? Get too far ahead of ourselves. Big head. We're going to need to be down on ourselves at all. I'm still early in the season. It's a long way to go. It's going to be a lot, a long way and a lot of bumps and bruises, a long way. So let's just play one game at a time. Just focus on task at hand. Obviously, it's early in the season, but we really sabotaged ourselves a little bit. I ain't going to say that. It's a good team that we played, but it was definitely some things. We made mistakes on all three sides, three phases of the ball, you know what I mean? So we got to just kind of clean some of those mistakes up and maybe we come out on top right there. Tee? Well, you guys are just sharing. It's going to be depending on what week you guys have an insane catch last year or last week with Jamal. And now Tee, that was a crazy catch, by the way. What was going through your mind, did you, I mean, that's a good one. That's up there, right? That's one of the better. Oh, yeah, definitely. Never really, you know, caught a ball on the ground like that. Yeah. But I was just fitting in like, yeah, that was kind of crazy. So I saw a guy say, how you six, four catching a ball on his butt is really funny. Jamal, what are you guys talking about after the catch like that after you had your last week, too? Uh, honestly, we didn't even say nothing. I think the first thing we did was talk about the celebration before he scored. I think we as a man have been saying like little videos on Instagram, we'd be saying stuff be laughing at it. So that's really where our celebrations are becoming. We got to talk about, so people are on the other people's elbow because you changed it this week. So they want to know what the new cell was and where that came from, was this a UNT decision or where did that, the new cell come from and what was it that come from, uh, I really made up on spot or like at practice. Yeah. I think I think, uh, was it some music going or something had to be music was going, it was something going on and Jamal was just bobbing his head and he was just like this. And he was like, oh, that's the new first answer, I'm like, we can try it out. I have to do it. And he was like, like, so we just started moving with it. But it's just like, you know what I'm saying, you just, I like it. You just like catching a vibe off it, you know what I'm saying? Is it a lot of it pre-determined by you guys because we talked, when I was there in person, we talked about on the show you guys come up with different cellies and stuff, but is it kind of just, you'll either have one in mind or it's just in the moment, you just feel it. Uh, sometimes you know, a celebration can be in the moment, actually a lot of them be in a moment. Uh, be things that you already, you saw on the internet before. Or did like, when you make that play, he's like, oh, man, let me do this. But sometimes it is predetermined. So, yeah. - Were you guys surprised with the first celebration we talked about this a little bit last show the fine that hit? Were you guys surprised that that happened or were you kind of expecting it or what was the, what were the feelings? - I'm talking about the people that were fine? - Yeah. - They teed and you get a fire, wasn't it? - I mean, that's not something we was never expecting that. I mean, that was, that's not something we-- - Yeah. - That's not something you were expecting. Like, if you're going, if you're doing a celebration with intention to be like, rude and, you know what I'm saying? - The start and doing all the vulgar stuff, then, you know what I'm saying is going to come behind you, but we didn't have intention on it, so it just looked like that. And then, you got people on internet paying the image for you, you know what I'm saying? And you can't speak about it, I mean, but, you know what it is, what it is, can't control that. - Even this week, sorry, to cut you off, even this week, Kyle used to share what I think was last week, Kyle used to check out a fine for doing a beer celebration, and it was he was doing juice, because that's obviously his nickname. So I think, Jamar, you had to, when you called out the NFL PA and said this is kind of an issue, like what, what would you feel about that, and do you think they'll do something about it? - I mean, I don't really know what they're going to do about it, I'm not really in the NFL PA, let me make that clear, I'm not in it. - Yeah. - You know what I'm saying? So, a lot of my situation that I'm talking about is like what I'm what I'm going through in the moment, probably with the NFL, what is happening with me in the NFL, but I can't really control on what they're doing, how they handle it, I'm just speaking of for myself on high certain situations, play out at the end of the day, so when we, when I was a kid, I can speak for tea, when I was a kid growing up, you know what I'm saying? That's all they did when they got to the end zone, you know what I'm saying? So, one of the big reasons is a lot of kids back in the day or by my time, trying to get the end zone, I was trying to make a celebration to do some fire stuff. When you get to the end zone, it's a party. - Yeah, fun in the end zone. - That's what it's always what. So, you see stuff as a kid, you get to the NFL, you finally want to do a celebration, and they hit you with a fine. Now I like make you a la nervus on what you want to do, you know what I'm saying? You can't really do a lot of old celebrations that you used to do. - Yeah, that's what people, I mean people say that on social media too, they don't want you guys to not want to celebrate. And we just had Ocho on last week, and he was talking about the same thing, like that was even different back then. But, anyway, it's a rough round here. Okay, all right, back to the Steelers game. Jamara actually hit a bit of a milestone this week. You had a 7,000 yard milestone. Do you know that's career receiving yards in 81 games. - I actually-- - You got there with now Lance Allworth, Julio Jones and Justin Jefferson. - And just the first time I'm knowing this, I'm be honest. You know, a lot of the stuff that-- - Is it really? - Yeah, I'm so serious. A lot of the milestones that I do I really don't find out until the following week after the game. So, this is actually my first time knowing this by the way in. So, thank you for telling me this. I'm actually serious. - That's cool. - Yeah. - Yeah, that's what we're here for. That's what us fans are here for. We can tell you all this cool things that you break. - Yeah, I appreciate it. - Well, first of all, what are your thoughts on that milestone? It's pretty cool because just to see where you've come, you know, from the start of your career to now, hitting all these milestones has to be cool for you. - Yeah, I think it's pretty cool just being a part of, you know what I'm saying, trying to create a legacy for myself and being a part of a legacy that's already being built, just adding myself on to it. So, I think it's just a cool opportunity. - And we talked about this the other episode. There was a specific jersey that you wanted and I think you got it this week. - Yeah, you know this, being baby. - Yes, he probably put it out there, he probably did. Yeah, I did though. It was pretty cool, man. I probably had told him. Well, it was kind of crazy because offense was on the field, defense on the field. We didn't know who had a ball. We was fighting for it. So, you know, we ended up chopping it up for those last couple of seconds right there on the field. And I told him he's going to set it over after the game. - Yeah, so did the podcast have something to do with that? Did he did something like that? - Honestly, I hope it did because it worked out for me. So honestly, I was pretty pumped about that surprise you didn't? - Yeah, they definitely surprised me with that color. I didn't know if it was, I thought he was going to sit it to the stadium, not like to the locker room. He said to the locker room right after the game. So that was, that shit threw me off. - What do you guys have thoughts on Aaron Rodgers and being 42 years old, still playing in the league and playing pretty well? We just were talking about this off-air. Like, it's insane how the guys like, "Kase Keenam, these older guys are still chopping it up in the league." It's pretty crazy. - Hey, "Kase Keenam Legacy" game, huh? - Yeah. - Yeah. God, we're crazy last night. - We're going to be talking about the Bears, Tee. We don't need this. - Sorry. Sorry. - No, that was crazy. - Yeah, the hell of a game. - How old Tom Brady was when he finished? - I'm not sure. To be honest. - I don't even know. - It wasn't Tom Brady, like, 45, right? - Yeah, 45. - Wow. - What's I'm saying? So I mean, he got Tom, so I mean, go ahead, all the way, go 'til he can't go. - I mean, my boy Flag's still going. - My dog Flag is still going. - Yeah. - He can still do it, man. Flag does. - Why? - He got it, man. He got it. - Why do you think these older quarterbacks are still doing well? Is there a different aspect? Because they're not mobile, right? They can't get out of the pocket. So what, is it just their minds that's different or the way they read the defenses? And what do you guys think is the reason for their success? - I guess you could say all of that. And then, you know, they got guys they can throw the ball to that can go make a play at the end of the day. So, yeah, I would say the same thing. It is a little different form. They was already spread out, you know what I'm saying? They already had the best targets back in the day too. So they just getting better and better now. So make their job easier. - Yeah. Coming off of a loss, you know, Jacksonville's next week. How long do you guys take to process that and kind of be pissed off about it or you just move on to next week, pretty quickly? - I feel like you got to move on pretty quickly. You know, you watch the film, you know, that next day. You know, after that, from that game, then after that is on to the next week. You got to focus on the next team. - Yep. But usually, what? Monday? - Yeah, we look at it early Monday. - So I like that you on it. - Yeah. - Last day. - Yeah. - Do you guys have a message to fans after that game? Because I'm sure they. - I mean, they're just excited about this game. - After Monday, let's move on, please. (laughs) Let's just say people where to go. - No Monday morning quarterback, guys. Move on. - Switching over to college, there was something that happened this week that I feel like you guys will care about. There was obviously the Texas Tennessee game was really big. Sark and the boys were smoking cigars in the locker room after the game, which everybody at LSU knows this was a Jamar Joe Burrow thing. But you guys did it after the National Championship. - Second. - Oh. - What? Damn. Let's talk about this celebration this kid, dude. What, what are you doing? Oh, he's here. - I didn't see it. - But he like, unzipped his pants and pulled it out and started. - No, I didn't see that. I didn't see that, bro. I swear I didn't see that. - No, that was the crazy shit. - Cool to do this. - Did you see it? Did you see the other, the Texas guy? - Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. - Oh, this is this game. - Yeah. - Oh, no, I didn't see that. Did you see that? - Yeah. - Did you see the other one? He like, like, I don't know what I was saying. - I didn't see this. I didn't see it. I didn't see it. - Bro, it's crazy. - Bro, it's crazy. - Bro, it's crazy. - It's crazy. - It's crazy. - They cracked the ballers. - It's crazy. - I think you did get flat and look fine. I think you did get flat. Yeah. - It was bad too because it was, I'm pretty sure it was a fourth down stop and he had him like 30 yards back. - Yeah. - Was this a home game or a weight game for him? - Yeah. - It was a weight. It was at Tennessee. - Oh, that's why you did it. - Yeah. - But that was crazy. - No, Tennessee got the craziest fan bases. - Something like it. Yeah. - It was crazy. - I think it was a good way to get water needed. - Yeah. - It was crazy. - Do you guys remember any celebrations like that when you guys were playing in college? - In college. - No, I came here to say that. - I don't know. It was a, but you know what I think about it. In college, we couldn't do celebrations. We got to the NFL. - No, it's not. - No, it's not. - We couldn't do celebrations. - It was my first time seeing team do celebrations. - Yeah, and we was doing it. They said the only way we could do is we would go off to the sideline. So, yeah, we started like, you know, to another way. - Weird and I all money does some weird things to people. Okay. So the smoking cigars thing, they did it in the locker room and it's regular season. Obviously, you guys did it after a national championship. Do you think that's a little over the tap to be smoking cigars in the locker room after you're full? - Yeah, don't be smoky cigars in my hometown team, man. - We doing that like that. - We ain't sure if Clemson boy. - Yeah, I'm a Clemson boy, but that's what I'm talking about. - Clemson first. - Yeah. - 10C second. - Yeah. - I don't know about that. I don't know. We did that during the championships. So it was a different fun. I don't smoke cigars, so I don't get down that strong smell. That's the stinks, man. So, honestly though, we don't know what they're doing. circumstances was behind doing that. It could have been something that led up to it or, you know, but me personally, I'd rather do it out there, you know, a championship game with something like that. Also, they probably passed a month in the locker room to, that's saying about how you're getting them. So, they probably passed a month. All right, guys, we're going to do a little deep dive here and switch things up. We're going to call this book of Uno. So, we're going to look back on something that happened in Jamar's career. And today, we're going to focus on the 7,000-year-old milestone that you hit. And I want to go back to your first NFL touchdown. Do you remember it? What happened? What were the emotions? Just come and touch down. Yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, just the Vikings home game. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Honestly, that was right before halftime. It was scrambled. No, no, no, that was just a double go. Right before halftime. Yeah. So, right before halftime, I remember this a little like Loki Vivoli. It was right before halftime. And I was lucky snapping around this time, too. I was I was snatching everything. And I remember, uh, and I remember them just calling double go and scoring. Next thing, I know first person I see Joe. At the end, at the end of the video, Joe's the first person I see. So, I know he's pretty, pretty happy to do that. And then TV, Tyler Boaster at the time. Uh, he was pretty pumped for me, too. And I had T over there. So I mean, all that, that was just a cool moment to have. You know, I'm saying, especially for me going through all that BS like the night situation, you know what I'm saying? So, uh, I remember that. It was pretty cool. It was pretty cool. What was the celebration that first touched? I remember. Gritty. Was there anything? No, it was definitely not a degree. My first study was definitely gritty. Yeah. When you ran into the end zone for the first time, um, did you feel a sense of relief because you like you talked about you dealt with a lot of stuff and a leading. Honestly, uh, I told you so. Honestly, I can't, I, I think it was more like just getting in the groove of the game. Like you don't really feel that, you know, I'm saying it's like really just feeling the game letting the game play out. And then, um, just make moves and then the moves go as you go. You get that first touch. Yeah. Yeah. It's all now. Yeah. Yeah. What about you? What yours was? We'll talk about you a little bit first. Like my first touchdown. Yeah. My first touchdown was verse to Eagles. Boy, that's the clip. That's a clue. That's a clue. AJ Green. Yeah. Yeah. Hmm. I do, I do know that one. Yeah. Okay. Did you go for like 120 that game? Nobody. No, I ain't going to win 20. Uh, I had two touchdowns. That's what it was. He said, nobody. Do you guys remember pretty vividly every touchdown you've scored? Like if somebody called up a touchdown could you remember the feeling or what happened or what the play was? Do you have to it? I don't see. I think I could probably if you like, you could help probably be, I had to like play it out a little bit. I got to like, I got to like, play it out of my head a little bit, but I need like a little more details like to drive a little bit. I don't know, but then again, he said I got a lot of touchdowns. I probably wouldn't remember. Now, we're going to open up some phone lines guys and enter your voicemails for press one for Oh, no, one of my favorite parts of the show. Voice mail number one. Jamar, are you ready? Let's do it. He says, yo, Jamar, big fan, love the show. My question for you today is what's your absolute favorite route to run on the field and what makes it so lethal for you against press coverage? Keep killing it, man. I mean, go. That's what I say. He said press coverage. So when he said that, it was like, when you put it like that, it's, it's, it depends, bro, because like the way you're saying it, you're making it seem like it's man coverage, but a lot of like your favorite routes are obviously if you pressure going on, you're going to want to run a go route. But if I'm, I'ma be honest, I like a, I think one of my favorite routes is probably like a bitch rope. Um, if it's like price, maybe, cause then I can use that on different, I can use that on different curages and I can use that on price. So that's giving me, you know what I'm saying? Multiple ways to use it. My favorite part of post. You were a top coach. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, the post. I just give me a chance. You just want to put it up, huh? Give me a chance. Let me make a play. Keep the chains moving. Like the one he made on the first game right there. Total post round. Yeah. Okay. Voice mail number two. Hey, Jamar. Hey, Annie, this is Caleb calling in from Cincinnati. Question for Jamar, growing up, watching the bangles or stepping into the receiver room. What were your thoughts on A.G. Green's legacy in Cincinnati and what he accomplished as a wide receiver? Well, I'm going to go, but I'm going to let T go first only because I know there's one that they receive us. He actually play with him. So this is a lot better coming from T to me. His legacy, you know, A.G. Green is one of the best receivers. I think, you know, to play the game, just what he did on the field, you know, starting in college is when I became a fan just the way he was so explosive at the, how big he was. And then when he got to the league, he just transferred transition over. And it was just, I know, I mean, he made it look easy. He was catching all types of crazy jump balls. And then did his, his body control on the, the sideline catches just keeping his toes in. It was just, I mean, it was crazy. That's, that's why I like you. That's why he's my favorite receiver and that why I kind of tried to model my game after him. So, I mean, he's definitely one of the best bingles received ever to play for the organization. I said the same thing overall. Cause I mean, I wasn't like, I ain't going to say I wasn't big on engineering, but I knew who he was. So I, I watched some of his highlight tapes and stuff too. You know, he was definitely one of a kind of receiver for show. Okay, voice mail number three. This is actually for me, I guess. It says, Hey, any huge fan of the podcast, you do such a killer job with your content. I was just wondering how long it does, does it actually take for you to write at it and put together one of your posts from start to finish? This is a question I get asked on. I, it takes me a long time because I watch all the games. So I've got reds in on all day Sunday. And then I start writing the second, the games and kind of during games too. So I'll write for a couple six, seven hours. And then I'll shoot the video. It takes about three and a half. And then I edit for another six hours. So I try to get it up Tuesday morning for you guys. Just so it's timely. And it's a lot of. I don't sleep tomorrow. At least Monday and Tuesday, once Tuesday night, it hits so fast. So you all comfy. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Okay. Well, thank you guys for voice mails. I'm Colin and leave us the questions. We love answering them. And Jamar loves hearing from you guys. So it's pretty cool. Yeah. We do appreciate it. We're going to give a big shout out to desolars today for coming through. Appreciate it for coming through. Special co-host Annie. We're going to wrap up this episode finally.
