It's finally happening

Donald Trump is going to war with the Republican Party, but one MAGA Congresswoman in particular, who Donald Trump very clearly wants to lose. He wants her to lose her job. He wants to fire everyone who works with her. He wants to fire everyone on her campaign staff, on her congressional staff, and likely all of the people around her. But Donald Trump likely will not be able to do that. Because he has lost his grip on the party. It is important to keep in mind before we get into this tantrum from Trump, and a lot more that I want to talk about in this video, both from Bernie Sanders and Barack Obama, so we're going to cover a lot of ground here. But it's important to remember that although the Republican Party is certainly the cult of Trump, it is the party of Trump. He is not the only billionaire that they serve. They serve all of the billionaires, they serve the class of power, they serve the media class, they serve the Epstein class, and Donald Trump is creating problems for those people right now. That's why Peter Teele in a recent interview threw Donald Trump under the bus, said he's been doing a terrible job, that he's staffed his administration with loyalists who can't do anything, because Peter Teele is upset he needs there to be Republicans in power, or at least those willing to support the surveillance state, support the military, industrial complex, to support and push Peter Teele's interests. And if that's not happening, these people are pissed. They pay good money to buy representatives and they want to make sure they keep their seats, but Donald Trump is not allowing that to happen. We are about to see a wipe out of not just Republican candidates, but we already saw the wipe out of corporate Democrats in these primaries. And so the billionaire class, the status quo, is all tumbling, and it's because of Donald Trump. So these people, I need you to keep in mind, who are pushing back against Donald Trump, who are budding up against in these Republicans, aren't doing so because they've had a change of heart, or because they're good people in their core. Know it is because they are getting instructions from the other set of boots they like to lick. And those are the billionaires who need them in power. And Donald Trump isn't happy about that because Donald Trump wants it to be all about Donald Trump. And for a while there, Trump was helpful in keeping Republicans in office. Yes, he was unpopular in the 2018 midterms, but in the key swing states, Donald Trump was at least above water. That is no longer the case. So remember, the Republicans abandoning Donald Trump aren't doing so because they've found some moral center. They're not doing it because they've found a backbone. They haven't grown a spine. They've grown a grievance, and have gotten a different set of instructions from their other leader. And you see that with Republican Congresswoman Maria Salazar, who has been the dire Trump, just the thorn in his side. She came out, this was two weeks ago, with an ad slamming Donald Trump's immigration policy, immigration policy that she voted for. Another $70 billion to ICE gave it and defended it. And now that it's causing her problems electorally, because I promise you she doesn't care about her constituents. That's not what it is. She doesn't care about the Latinos for Trump, the Latinos for Trump. She just wants to stay in power. She's criticizing Donald Trump. And Trump is furious. He's going after her and it's hilarious and expected. Friend of the show, Bashir Stan, the Stan account for Andy Bashir, wrote Trump is currently spamming Twitter replies criticizing Maria Salazar for saying his immigration policy is going too far. Never thought the leopards would eat my face, which I may have to do the song again, Washington Post. Maria Salazar released an ad criticizing Trump's immigration policy. Trump reshared this saying, but Latino voters in his district told reporters that her support for Trump hasn't wavered while support for Salazar has. That's just factually not true. Donald Trump is losing Latino support, but these are his truth, social posts. We have more than Donald Trump has reshared. That's because the people that came here legally hate people skipping ahead of the line. So we need new Republicans to replace Salazar, more posting. She wants Amnesty for people how criminally crossed the border. I think it's supposed to be who, but you know, MAGA and being able to read and write, not exactly. There's strong suit. Someone said, I guess she misread the tea leaves. Nope. Trump is unpopular. This is a correct reading of the tea leaves. Trump posted another post that says, I am one of those voters in her district. I have should have voted for the guy that primaryed her and we see another primary her in two years and see how she likes to keep criticizing Trump then. So Trump is sharing all of these posts because he wants her to lose. Donald Trump is much like the corporate Democrats, the APAC Democrats and the MAGA Democrats who we oppose in our primaries. Donald Trump is relentlessly focused on keeping his power, keeping his relevance and keeping himself happy. And that's what you see with anyone who is criticizing Abdul Al-Sahed, Zaram Mamdani. And these are always ridiculous and stupid criticisms. I'm not saying that our politicians aren't worthy of criticism sometimes. But the people who are trying to attack Zoran or Abdul from the right, all these people want them to lose. It's just true. They want them to lose. Deep down, they want them to lose. They want to keep their reputation. They want to keep getting money from donors because you got to know a lot of these people in media. They get money from other places. But Van Jones, I think Bezos gave him like $100 million for his foundation or his startup or whatever it was. But Van Jones get millions of dollars from Jeff Bezos, same Jeff Bezos who bought the Washington Post a control and narrative that's, you know, beneficial to billionaires who had opinion pieces in the Washington Post like why billionaire space travel is good for all of us. That guy's giving money to Van Jones. There are big donors to other supposedly independent media outlets out there because they want to control the media. And so Donald Trump is doing the same thing you see of the corporate as Democrats. When they are much more focused on keeping their power, then maybe like expanding the coalition and maybe winning some elections and improving the material conditions of people's lives, Donald Trump just wants to hold on to power. And now he's really pissed that the billionaires who fund these Republicans are going, "Fuck, you're f***ing it up for us." What happens if enough Democrats come in and we pass Medicare for all and then, you know, big insurance CEOs can't bring in the $20, $30 million salaries. Ah, that'd be a tough life, huh? Donald Trump is standing in the way of the billionaires now. And I know that sounds crazy to say, but it's true in the sense that Donald Trump is going to lead to a bunch of Republicans losing their seats, their jobs and the ability to oppose progress to hold the Epstein class accountable. So Donald Trump has actually become those people's enemies, which is pretty funny. And this is why my relentless focus lately in terms of the advice that I give if anyone would like to listen. And I hope so, is that right now Democrats in these difficult districts, these close districts, increasingly closer races, should not try to become soft Republicans. They shouldn't. Like that's what Maria Salazar is doing. She wants to be a softer Republican. Mike Rogers wants to be a softer Republican, saying, "Oh, actually, I don't support the war in Iran anymore," although he's supported it his entire life. Instead, it was a great thing, only way to bring peace to the region, bullshit, maybe getting rid of Israel would. Mike Rogers is going to say that, taking a lot of money from APEC, taking staff from APEC done very quietly. But if these people are moving to the left, why would we move to the right? I don't get that. Republicans are under water. Republicans, not just Trump or under water on everything. Immigration, healthcare, foreign policy, the economy, all of it, all of it. So how about we take a page at the playbook of the most popular politician in America? And just do what people want and will make their lives better. That's Bernie Sanders. And a photo of Bernie came up on my Twitter feed that I wanted to show y'all, because it broke my heart a little bit, but it also gave me hope, and I want to talk about why. Someone shared this photo of Bernie Sanders sitting on the Capitol steps alone after his amendment to reduce Medicare drug cost was defeated 99-1, and he's ever done, all he's ever done, is try his darned hardest, his damned hardest, his darnedest, to make survival for American workers easier, and I wish we deserved him. And oftentimes I feel like we do not deserve Bernie, that's how I feel whenever I get the chance to talk to him. And then there was a little, there's a little Twitter note that said, the attached photo of Senator Sanders on the Capitol steps is from August 2022, during the inflation Production Act, Voterama, a similar amendment on Medicare drug prices and benefits was defeated 99 to one then, but 47 to 53 in a recent vote. So, it was voted against then by everyone except for Bernie, and now all the Democrats have come around to it. And when we have Medicare for all, it'll be because of Bernie. Universal health care will be because of Bernie in the movement that he built. You know, the biggest problem that Bernie faces every single day is being right before everyone can see it or before so many can see it. Why don't we just do what's popular? Bernie is popular, his relentless focus on working people, his unwillingness to bend to the establishment is what is popular, and we're in a moment in which there is this vacuum of ideas. Because all Trump does is fucking suck, and there's this vacuum of people who are like, I don't know what coalition I'm in, I don't know what party I mean, I don't even like politics. And there is a huge opportunity to inspire a new type of politics by bringing them in with real ideas to improve their material conditions. Not buzzy words and kind of speeches that mean nothing, I'm talking about real policy solutions, which is why I was a little, little unnerved by, and this is not usually the case, something that President Barack Obama said that I want to take a look at. Former President Barack Obama says Democrats made a mistake by making goals materialistic and instrumental. What people are star for at the moment is the ability to tell a moral and ethical story about how we live together in this moment. On that, I disagree. I disagree on the moral and ethical story, because Donald Trump is President. That's just the case. I think people are looking past moral and ethical to an extent, like I think Ken Paxton being the biggest piece of shit in the world is going to cost him, but there will still be millions of people who vote for him, because he's got the R in front of his name. And so I think the only way that we do bring people in is meeting their material needs. Bernie, AOC, Mamdani, people who speak in varying material terms are the most popular politicians in America, and they are trusted. They are trusted because they have a worldview. And I think that it would be a mistake to think that we can just talk about, no matter how important it is, democracy and kind of broad terms, and get people to buy into that. Because if you look at American democracy over the past few decades, where I really hasn't made life much better, materially for people. Do your dollars go farther? Are your schools better? Is your health care better? Is the government less corrupt? Have we stopped the endless wars? No, and this is not a democracy that we're living in. It's owned by billionaires and foreign nations. So it's not democracy. So who would want to fight for this? Now do we want to fight for something new? Do we want to fight for an actual democracy? Sure. But that means improving people's material conditions and delivering power to them, protecting worker power. That's what that means. And so I think that we are missing the moment if we think that we need to treat people like they're really smart and care about morals. That's not true. It's just not. Americans are dumb. It's how we got Trump. Americans don't care about morals that much if they think it's going to make their life better. If you want to get to a different place, we got to talk about class consciousness. That's how we're going to get to a different place. If people stop seeing themselves as individual and if Democrats stop messaging in a way that says, "I'll just sacrifice a little bit for your fellow man. Stop it. Medicare for all is not a sacrifice for your fellow man. Universal health care would benefit everybody. Everybody in America." And so I think we heard ourselves when we framed things that way. Bernie speaks in broad sweeping terms of revolution to improve your life. And that's what makes him popular because he is consistent, he is predictable, and he is right. And that's what the Democratic Party needs to be especially in this moment. That's what we talk about on this show.
