The podcast dives into the intense drama of Love Island USA Season 7, highlighting emotional turmoil, betrayal, and complex relationships between Shelly, Huda, Ace, and Nick. Sierra’s post-villa revelation that she didn’t end up with a man who truly loved her sparks major conversation, while accusations of a "villain edit" and toxic dynamics—particularly around Huda and Shelly—are dissected. The discussion shifts to broader themes of mental health, self-worth, and toxic masculinity, with criticism of figures like Zach with a K and the show’s handling of narratives. The podcast also celebrates *K-Pop Demon Hunters*, a Netflix animated film praised for its emotional authenticity, strong music, and empowering female friendships. A review of the Broadway play *John Proctor Is the Villain* underscores themes of girlhood, resilience, and empowerment, with the host reflecting on how the show’s emotional depth resonates with young women. The overall tone is one of raw honesty, emotional vulnerability, and a call for greater self-acceptance in reality TV culture. The segment ends with a nod to women’s health platforms like MIDI, emphasizing support and care during life’s changes.
our hot new bombshells have left the villa we're not free not yet and i'm i love it what can i say
i love chaos i and this is chaotic i'm starting to get scared i'm holding my purse a little bit
closer when i open twitter.com not only twitter girl instagram instagram reddit okay so we there's
a lot to catch up on regarding love island season usa season seven yeah um you thought the drama
would stop when they left the villa oh no no no we just getting started it's turned up to i would
say a 12 yeah maybe even a 19 sure i where to begin where to begin i think the latest and the
greatest it's monday when we're recording i wish we were recording after the kiki palmer interview
oh yeah we'll get that tonight but kiki palmer has our sisters shelly and alandria on the show
our tethers if you will
um
yeah they're the most beautiful one i've ever seen in my entire life and that's what i'm hoping
to manifest for us i know i know i'm like no i'll take it i'll i'll take that at 31 we're hoping
that things change i'm actually 30 um but anyway first thing that we have to talk about the latest
as of monday morning is um sierra sierra posted and i quote it was like a video of her like
dancing in a bikini um the caption was you look happier and then
she says thanks i booked a flight to mykonos after surviving the villain edit on a reality tv show i
didn't end up with a guy who never actually liked me and wanted my friend the entire time come on
with that run-on sentence she has a testimony today she's been through some stuff i saw that
and i literally like when i when i saw that it was posted like you know 10 minutes before i
screenshot immediately like i need to tell every single person i've ever met about this sierra has
broken her silence on nicolandria wait i have an important question do you follow them on instagram
or any social media i follow the ones that i like oh i like for my own mental health i cannot follow
them yeah i mean i and we'll see it you know yeah every other social media but i gotta i gotta follow
my girls i have to follow shelly and alandria of course get them i followed sierra because i wanted
to see what she would say after her removal and let's see that shirt that you're wearing
messy messy just like do we have it on every oh totally totally just a close crop of that no no
oh my god i okay well the thing that so many things made me go oh and i called ace and nick
of course too this oh okay ally to men um to leo's oh right he's a leo i forgot nick is a leo too no
oh okay wait okay back to sierra yes i feel like so many things brought pause to my little noggin
over here one the villain edit where yeah yeah i was like because
pans to huda don't erase her okay so who do you think actually got the villain edit on love island
season seven i'm gonna shake the table villain edits came for shelly and for ace they both
because why is it that people did not believe in black love until damn near they went to the
hideaway we're about to leave and then people are like oh they're so cute together oh listen
realize realized it all along and it was only and i didn't like the way too that they were like
really um
kept kind of like uh harping on um shelly talking to huda about chris because in that scene if you
watch it closely as an emotionally intelligent adult you can see that shelly is like a little
bit hesitant but like yeah girl go ahead yeah and she did not really mean that okay well most people
watching love island usa i have to come clean and say are not emotionally intelligent adults
they might be adults okay you got me there i got you got me there but i i love your full eyes clear
heart
can't lose clear wait but i love your clear eyes full heart can't can't lose and did but and did
lose yeah a few times because and i don't think that huda got a villain edit either because first
of all she stayed in the house for damn forever yeah and also they did show a lot of her like
they had a lot of her scenes like explaining herself which is mostly just repeating herself
which calling a spade a spade but i think that she had a lot of chances to like talk through
what she was thinking and shelly and the talking heads and the confessionals really didn't
who did you think got the villain edit the real villain of love island usa season seven
is all of us okay pan to the viewers i did not know mental illness was this pervasive in this
country oh even now it's one thing to respond to the way these again like their brains are still
developing they are people that are on a reality dating tv show where most of the challenges are
just dry humping and making out let's remember that before we hold people to the fire shall we
but the way that people are reacting and responding even now has me scared yeah i'm
scared raise your hand if you're scared here huda hq i'm afraid huda hq now nickel andrea hq let me
tell you i'm a card carrying member i pay taxes there actually i own property there yeah yeah but
even that community is starting to scare me a little bit when i'm seeing countless threads
or that are just um here's a breakdown of what happened in nickel andrea's live stream and it's
like tweets oh we've got to get jobs we've got to start getting careers i'm sorry that is a job
that is a career these are people who have boots on the ground was did i not leave a concert go
no i left a movie went home was in my bed like the sarah paulson meme literally on my side phone
illuminating my face and i was watching nick on tiktok live 30 years old and i'm watching nick
don't even know his last name on tiktok live talking about whatever and the way that he like
the way that he like cradles her as she's like laying on the ground and she's like
on top of him i'm like oh my gosh may that love find me i have to be clear that i i did scroll
through all 45 like i'm part of the problem you had to you had to and the people who did all that
work i'll say on the ground reporting i'll say war correspondent i appreciate their labor because i
don't want to really watch you know like a video of it i don't want to be able to scroll through
and kind of spend time on the parts that i need more clarification highlights did you watch the
um disneyland edit of course i did of nick and which one did you like more nick
and alandria's or shelly and aces i love the eraser of the eraser of uh taylor and clark
because i i did check after i saw because what whose was posted first ace i don't know that
i think ace and shelly's was posted first okay and then i saw nick and alandria's posted second
and then i saw i don't know actually when taylor's was posted but i was like it would be so funny if
they just didn't give taylor the camera crew but they did they did they had to that's because
male friendship is so low effort in those states um but i want to go back to that um
to sierra for a minute can we yes because i think that if you read between the lines a key part of
this what i read in this text i didn't end up with a guy who i didn't end up with a guy who actually
never liked me and wanted my friend the entire time uh nick landria confirmed oh and it's and
it's fake show me fake show me fake because the other woman says it's real it's real to sierra
so it's real to me honey when nick and alandria were on tiktok live and they were getting called
fake as couple and alandria said and yet look at you yep here are my comments yep paying my
rent yep curious yep uh no twitter you did your big one it's it's hard to root for swirl twitter
and swirl tiktok right now i don't consider nick and alandria a part of this world community
i consider them something higher oh i don't know what but i'll also go back to it are we giving
nick a blackout i'm no i'm not doing that wait but i am pivoting we can always come back to whatever
we're going to talk about but i have to pivot to talk about the crazy scary video of the casa boys
the gossip speaking speaking of people wanting applying for a black card and getting
denied well first of all okay so the casa boys plus and then some recorded a video with the
caption of them dancing with the caption that's like are we invited to the cookout so there were
black people in it so i was like okay self-hate okay teeth teeth is all self-hate and you know
who i'm talking about too the one what is his name jd i don't know but he's the one who's like
hoda was like um that challenge was crazy he's like
oh he's like you're too dominant oh yeah yeah his teeth are really like
he's very forward he walked into a room teeth first oh oh he doesn't wait what that might
that remind me of maggot teeth oh maybe he has maggot teeth because he's in this video thinking
he might be maggot teeth he cannot catch a vibe to save his life i've seen many of their because
they're all singing an airbnb together i've seen many of their videos together and he's always the
one that i'm like how is zach with a c who had not even two lines on the damn show eating you up in
oh my god i forgot about white zach yeah zach with a k how's he doing for you i i think talk
about didn't get a villain out of it but should have is the real villain in the house is zach
with a k because first of all i thought he was the most handsome of the casa boys he's so hot
with the bandana on but yes i think even with a little with a little little bang turf bang with
his little bangs turf bangs be fucking for real the turf banks fit the attitude they did they do
warning sign because no it really was because
why are you first of all he switched up on alandria quickly dumped her out of casa but
listen all in god's plan it all worked out in the end i'm not gonna hold a grudge then he switched
up on amaya yep once he's at the 100k in his clutches he switched up on her then he tried to
switch up switch back on her and like get back with her cozy up she saw right through it thank
god then after everything he's like talking about something he didn't even see in the house himself
he's like on his life he was the first boy to get off the house and go go on to lives and start like
all this stuff i'm like who gives a fuck about your exit interview no you're on the episode you
were literally there for like three days i love when his mouth is um shut he had so much potential
before he spoke he should be seen and not heard for sure for sure like many men like
most i'll i'll say except for if you know who you are oh you know who i'm thinking yeah i do dm me
and i'll tell you and his name is ace and he's a leo paid for hair toes nails and clacky no you
being off book on this little jam of course i am if you if you only saw me and remy my dog i said
remy come on girl we just woke up from a nap come on let's get in this tiktok together i will say
there is a photo i have no idea what it's from of nick alandria shelly and ace and when i tell
you they look like the the photo was from the wnba all-stars game and their trophy wives i swear to
god i was like these little stud lesbians are killing me and nick and i guess i'm giving him
a black card fine he could be a stud too wow they looked fucking crazy studs studs can be white
can't they oh no that's for black lesbians only
wait learn something new every day thank you thank you for educating me
i'm gonna throw you on that world raw see what happens
speaking of holding a little bit of space a little bit of space for
nick being one of the biggest baddies stands in north america named he said oh natalie nunn he
said oh yeah i'm off book i know these girls he said he watches baddies um he's like i haven't
watched baddies uk yet but like i'm on baddies which one is it i don't even know like you see
how big i'm smiling i can't remember the name i just love i just love nick what can i say it's
really it's it's shockingly organic what do you mean like he is i mean i guess he's from florida
yeah he's from jacksonville and listen it was in this in this very studio that you and devon
tried to tell me oh whatever whatever i'm like he's off book on every baddie on baddies and you
think he's faking it and you think he doesn't love a black woman please that was never me that
said that well and let me tell you i was going through our tiktok comments last night about to
go back to every single person oh they're not gonna last two weeks okay well okay well let's
ask the audience no i will say they converted a lot of they were haters okay there are people
that didn't believe in the nickel andrea they tried to bury us but guess what i'm a seed and
a weed oh i'm gonna grow wherever okay that's weird but i like that for you
i think we have to dream bigger but i like that for you we teach girls to shrink themselves don't
do that to make themselves don't bring her in this room speaking of someone who's not shrinking
herself who um miss alex cooper she had both amaya yeah on call her daddy and huda on call her daddy
for sure did you watch them uh i watched hudas i didn't watch amaya's yeah i figured out whatever
happened someone would tell me that's fair yeah i feel like the only takeaway from amaya's is that
she thought that um euphoria boy uh jacob
alorti as nate and euphoria was hot and that made me really nervous for my sister but that's spooky
yeah that's spooky scary but we all have our vices hopefully not that one though yeah that's spooky
yeah um i didn't watch hudas in full and i was very moved about her talking about the history
of domestic violence in her house her like troubled upbringing um and then we started
talking about the love island stuff and i was like and i'm back out huh interesting
i remember it differently actually that's funny the things that that woman does with history
her story if you will yeah so interesting well i i think okay the biggest thing to come out of
that interview was that right after it aired i guess shelly had unfollowed her yeah and they'd
maybe blocked each other unfollowed each other um which i was like interesting because i don't know
why like we're so still stuck on the um huda chris
shelly love triangle for how much it does not matter in the big scheme of things right like
huda really still says like oh i brought chris back to the villa for or back yeah back to the
main villa for all of us and i was like okay you can like repeat that a lot yeah but just say that
you brought him back for yourself like what that's like not a bad thing it's love island yes and if
shelly had an attitude about it that she was totally within her rights to that's fine yeah
but just the continuously saying again and again no it was for all of us like i don't know and
again we talked about this a little bit before
about how like the girl's girl kind of there is no girl's girl except for maya the litmus test of
like and not even amaya really i well no i think amaya i think the amaya was the only girl that
really took on conflict in a real way in that villa in a real way not like in a yes and not
like in a like putting your feelings aside or talking to everyone else but directly to the
person amaya was the only one that like addressed huda's behavior like a lot of girls co-signed it
i will say for a long time yeah and i feel because
now like huda has this whole thing about how shelly was like bullying her the entire time in
the house like people were sharing edits of like something um huda's working at and she kind of
starts like posing a little bit and then shelly and alandria and someone else are like is she like
posing for us like this is like kind of uncomfortable weird which i can see it from
both sides huda misreading a situation trying to make a joke out of it but i can also that's not
bullying that i think a lot of the stuff that happened toward the end of the house was that
people kind of fed up with huda's behavior for sure
because i don't i also don't like the way huda always says like well ace was one of the main
people turning people against jeremiah and i know it's because you involved every single person in
the house into this relationship and so listen at the the bell rings at the end of the day and
people have opinions about it yeah and every single person was that popeye's employee hearing
about huda and jeremiah one more time that black woman on the end of her bed that was everyone
listening to her cry through it i will say i wish someone held her a little bit more accountable
earlier on yeah and maybe there
could have been an opportunity for change that doesn't erase the fact that huda's behavior is
simply unacceptable um but also yeah bickering over chris him yeah him yeah please no again i i do feel
like i think you're right i think this is like the chris is such a small part of just the escalation
of stuff between shelly and huda where where huda huda's behavior just was unacceptable to shelly
and then she finally said something about it do you think that huda put her ass in ace's face
yes clean answer thank you that's all i want yes do you think
that i think it was a it sounds a little gray from all the accounts it didn't sound like it
was exactly like face sitting it sounded like it was the ass was just too close to his face
i don't know i don't know because iris sounds bad iris was on the um gabby wendy podcast and she was
like yes she said like it was too much but it is also a challenge but also like no matter what it
was too much yeah and also that like you know no one has very super clear boundaries going into the
challenge because you don't even know what it's gonna be but still like it felt a little bit over
the top okay are we gonna tune in for reunion august 25th of course of course we're too sad
we're sad they're in the theater they're telling us to get out okay what do you what do you want
out of reunion who do you want to see really because i saw a video of andy cone on the lost
culture uh award show red carpet and he said like he's a lot of stuff to talk to ace about and i was
like oh and the and the boy mom left out of me and i said oh excuse me um no that's my son you're
speaking about i'm i'm curious to see what he pops out with but i do really want to see the
moment we were robbed of which is sierra and alandria having a real conversation about
her connection with nick yeah now that she's seen it back yeah i do i i want that conversation i
want to clear it on air i do i i saw some people saying like um sierra must not have taken alandria
and nick's thing very seriously and thought alandria was like beneath her and that's why
it took iris being like uh girl like wake up a little bit have you seen that body yeah have you
seen those cheekbones you better run you better be afraid and i don't know i kind of feel like sierra
was i don't think this is like not derogatory but i think that she was just a little bit more
concerned about like how she was coming across yeah she was very coming across very healed
in every interaction like really doing the therapy speak which is like austin really liked about her
that nick really liked about her um and so i think that she was like trying to just play it cool
and not really blow anything up um
but i do think that like naturally you would have a reaction even even yeah even when she said i'm
happy that you explored with alandria someone i trust i was like yeah yeah oh that kind of
sounded like bs from the beginning and i don't i don't regret her for lying but i now we can
be honest about it yeah what do you want out of the reunion i want huda and jeremiah to both come
to an agreement about their relationship because i don't think i buy that it was completely love
bombing just as i don't buy that it was completely huda being like you know super overly attached
woman i think that there's something in the middle where like it's just kind of like they both locked
into each other so quickly that like when anyone did anything that was like just a little bit out
of like what their expectation was they both freaked out because they were both super uh
super attached early on they were both very controlling and they were both just like not
willing to really talk about any any part of their relationship to each other except for everyone else
yeah god read we had to talk about pancake gate again um the hell those pancakes have caused on
this show yeah oh my god um can i just say something to the people sure address them
i want to talk to the people who with a straight face voted for chris and huda to make it to the
final call them out i just want to know how do you feel now they couldn't make the damn finale
and you said they can go all the way you said give them 100k totally they didn't even believe in them
as much as you believed in them just for one of them to rob the other yeah nasty work nasty work
that's just people being messy that's like ain't no real lovers voting for them true haters true
haters the real haters would have been nickel andrea and that's that's me let's get out of here
anyway um this week stay around to hear us talk about the new broadway show john proctor is the
villain and i successfully bullied hunter yvonne government name harris into watching k-pop demon
hunters you're welcome lock in so let me say this let me say this are you looking for a home for
your worst opinions are you a hater first but a lover of pop culture second consider this a glorified
group chat but we're not calling you out no no no we're calling you in it is a safe space to talk
shit wait what okay it's a safe space to talk shit but of course from wondery i'm peyton dicks
and i'm hunter harris and this is let me say this let me say this let me say this and i will be
saying this oh gosh
i gotta say it
netflix did their big one but you're right you're right and and i always have been except for those
two times so yep totally totally do you have me to find out no i'm kidding okay but when i
pressed play on k-pop demon hunters i did not expect my life to change
you know there's this um video of this guy outside of club and he's like uh what does he say he
said the club is bumping the drinks are flowing there's so much pain in the world right now but
not in this room yeah that's how it feels to watch k-pop demon hunters yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah so
you press play i did you did i did press play okay quick log line k-pop demon hunters is a new
netflix fantasy musical about a world-renowned k-pop girl group balancing their lives in the
spotlight with their secret identities
as demon hunters something that hunter will obviously press play on of course of course
no i said it's listen the leo and me said they are huntrix huntrix is there is a girl group name
yeah very similar to hunter uh-huh demon hunter i do it a lot sometimes in this very room
sometimes a gun pointed at me in this very room and one of the members is named
roomie which is only one letter away from remi it is magical the way
you find a path back to yourself always you said where there's a will there's a way oh yeah and
there is a will so go ahead and tell me what you thought about the movie um i was kind of like
i was really charmed by it yeah but i really locked in once i heard the music because that
first song i was like oh this is like a banger i was like oh low-key like who's who's doing this
like who's doing this um and i was not expecting that i did not realize that the music was like
such a core part of it and now that they have i read a new york times story today um they have
songs on the billboard top 100 period because the music is legitimately so good and i love that um
which kind of felt i mean obviously the end of the spider verse parallels are like present like
same studio not the same like style of animation but like definitely have like a lot in common
visually um but yeah i love it when like that musical component is just as strong it's not
like empire music where you're like oh yeah this is music made for a tv show comparing k-pop demon
hunters and empire is the core part of it and i love that because it's like a core part of it and
it's just like the craziest thing that you've ever done i don't think so they both have like
you know song like made music for certain worlds you can hear you know one sounds like something
that i let's not even get shady and the other sounds like k-pop demon hunters um but yeah no
i really loved it i loved like the bond between like the three girls i thought that was really
sweet yes oh sisterhood i will say when i was just looking for something to play as i cleaned
my apartment just like background noise i opened it and i thought no this is gonna be like too
i think like some documentary i said the brain is still on k-pop demon hunters i'm like i wonder
what those girls are up to maybe i should just press play and i did and when i tell you apartment
a mess because i sat down okay nothing got folded nothing got done that's so funny not only was i
just immediately so sold into these girls i felt yes the music immediately soda pop chart topper
soda pop song of the summer you heard it here first golden so what about the boy
song oh you love i like boys i like boys breaking news oh i gotta stop doing that on this podcast
i don't have shockingly maybe a relationship to k-pop i don't have any big feelings about it i
have like an understanding of it bts shadow army black pink black pink in your area like i even
watched that pop academy netflix docuseries about cat's eye but i didn't have um a personal draw to
it and for some reason i didn't have a personal draw to it and for some reason i didn't have a
personal draw to it and for some reason i didn't have a personal draw to it and for some reason
something about this movie set up a really nice entry point into k-pop for people who aren't k-pop stance like you didn't have to be
k-pop stance like you didn't have to be
k-pop stance like you didn't have to be well-versed into k-pop to connect to this
well-versed into k-pop to connect to this
well-versed into k-pop to connect to this movie
movie
movie to connect to the story of friendship or
to connect to the story of friendship or
to connect to the story of friendship or hiding your scars because you're afraid to
hiding your scars because you're afraid to
hiding your scars because you're afraid to be your full person
be your full person
be your full person oh roomie did the artist's way i know i
oh roomie did the artist's way i know i
oh roomie did the artist's way i know i know julia cameron had an influence over
know julia cameron had an influence over
know julia cameron had an influence over these women for sure and you know who
these women for sure and you know who
these women for sure and you know who else she has an influence over
else she has an influence over
else she has an influence over me you started the artist i started the
me you started the artist i started the
me you started the artist i started the artist way
artist way
artist way put a pin in this we got to come back i
put a pin in this we got to come back i
I know, I was going to save it.
I was going to save it.
Oh my God, you put a pin.
But I just, it felt, it was too good.
Hunter saw me playing piano and said,
that made me put it down, low key.
He said, get me out of here.
Free me.
But yeah, I think that the animation style,
there was something that was so lovely
about how detail oriented it was.
Like the sexuality of these really sexy K-pop boys band
that was like, yes, there was some
that were built like a truck.
And then there were others that just had
like the wind blowing and the little bottom
of the shirt goes up and you see like a brief ab.
Like it was so particular.
There's a small little like side shoulder check
between Rooney and Jinoo that just, oh, horny.
Real lovers woke up.
My eye was at attention whenever you see
like that one guy's abs.
And then was it one of the girl's eyes
like turned into like a little corn on the cob.
And then he like, it's like his abs
like put butter on the corn cobs.
And I was like, oh.
My culture.
I love corn on the cob, especially in summer.
It's so good.
I also love abs.
I thought you meant like horniness.
Oh.
He said, I love corn.
I do love corn.
He said, this is a family friendly podcast.
I love corn.
I do.
Not anything sexual.
I do.
I also love, I love men's abs.
I love a man's abs.
That's not named Drake.
Those abs are real.
Oh, that's true.
That's true.
The difference.
I did not trust the man who had
that the pink hair with the hair all over his eyes.
I didn't trust that.
Well, they were demons.
So I understand.
As many men are.
Men have sex issues.
Hunter's crossed arms watching it.
So jot that down.
Triggered.
Watching it, in fact.
Oh, wait.
What were your favorite songs?
Oh, OK.
I'm so glad you asked.
Golden.
Love.
Already Going Platinum.
Love.
In my house.
And What It Sounds Like.
Oh, yes.
Yeah.
Period.
Did not.
Soda Pop.
Soda Pop was like, this is cute.
This is cute.
But it's, you know, in my house we play Swag by Justin Bieber.
So it felt a little bit like, yeah, OK, I get it.
OK.
Who, what were your favorite tracks?
Oh, well, my favorite tracks were, yes, Golden.
Your Idol was a banger.
Soda Pop's Song of the Summer, like I said.
And hear me out on this one.
Hear me out on this one.
Because when I tell you that Free is going to be in my Spotify raft, and not just because
I think it's a good song, but because I fell asleep listening to it.
Wait.
That's so crazy.
I woke up at 6 a.m.
I also fell asleep listening to music.
Like, in the other room, in the speaker in the other room.
And I was like, what the heck?
Well, do you normally do that?
No, never.
Oh.
Oh.
Well, you're a yearner.
I know.
I have to, like, add a soundtrack to my dreams, you know how I am.
Totally.
Well, my living room heard a lot of clips on Friday night.
And I'm not mad about it.
But I think something that I really liked about this movie is that it kind of came out
a couple weeks ago.
But it really, like, kind of found an audience pretty quickly.
But now it's like everyone is talking about it.
Yeah.
And I like the idea of, like, a movie releasing and just, like,
gradually growing bigger and bigger.
Because I was just reading an interview, again, with the directors in the New York Times today
where they were like, at first it kind of seemed like it found, like, a small audience.
But now it's, like, you know, four-quadrant appeal for a K-pop animated movie that on
paper does not sound like it would have the biggest audience in the world.
But, like, now, of course, Netflix is really pushing it.
And that's, like, I love, like, that, like, trajectory for, like, a piece of media.
It's really nice.
Yeah.
And I think something that feels really accessible about it is a lot of the writing.
Like, it doesn't.
It doesn't feel like it's pandering to a young audience, which I thought it was for.
It felt, actually, for me.
Yeah.
And, like, yes, also for kids.
Maybe more kids to aspire toward.
Because I do think there's a little bit of a maturity to these girls.
I'm not sure how old they're, like, supposed to be.
Yeah.
But at least in their mannerisms and the way they're dressing and the way, you know, in
what they're discussing, I do think that there's something that's really nice in terms of how
we can either put them on a pedestal if you're younger or see yourself in them as, like.
Yeah.
A 31-shocking-year-old girl.
Yeah.
I also really love the concert scene.
Yes.
The concert sequence was, like, the art there, the design there was so good.
Yeah.
And it felt like, oh, wow.
Also, you know what?
They're going to get mad.
Yeah.
They're going to get mad at me again.
They always are.
I don't know if they will, actually.
But a lot of Takedown reminded me a lot of Endgame, a lot of Reputation-era Taylor.
Ooh.
And I was like, oh, yeah, get mad.
Ooh.
Well, since we're not getting that album, we'll get this instead.
Yeah, but, oh, God, takedowns.
Well, anyway, let me say thank you.
Yeah.
say that let me say thank you you're welcome yeah i love something that seemed incredibly
unserious but actually took its audience very seriously yeah exactly totally totally like the
girlishness of like the way they want to be eating ramen like wanted to be like snacking like all of
that stuff i was like this is so cool to see like they can do this and also be demon hunters it's
like i'm in their powerpuff girl bag i know that they could be this and they can also be demon
hunters we teach girls to shrink themselves to make themselves smaller it was so seriously so
that and it was so important and beautiful to me and she is doing the artist's way women can be
demon hunters too girl be yourself love that press play seriously i i have told so many people and
everyone got really stressed out at my me weeping sending a photo of me weeping watching this movie
oh i have to get one thing in yeah there was a scene in k-pop demon hunters towards the end
that i was like why am i getting so emotional
you
i'm always emotional but it reminded me of cheetah girls the scene at the end of cheetah
girls when they all come together and sing about how their stripes are different and all that but
they still love each other i was bawling my eyes out when they were finally coming back to fight
the demons together no it was really oh my god it's like the meeting in the middle of a crowd
of yes there's nothing cinema the movies i get it hunter i know you are the way you are
no it's it's one of the best movies i've ever seen letterboxd top four for sure oh wow sorry
yeah
wait did you have a favorite character i did i loved the three-eyed raven who was sitting on
top of the tiger especially because um roomie was like why is he wearing a hat and uh the guy was
like oh well the hat is the tigers but he just really liked it and kept it chic sorry wait that's
so funny because i was gonna say my favorite character was a tiger and i'm like it's that
when the tiger keeps trying to lift the pot over and over again something about that neuroses really
resonated with me
and he has big eyes like someone anyway that's so us and the raven has three eyes
nosy always always peeping always watching wait okay us boots
this is really an episode about girlhood about friendship oh my gosh about love should we watch
ladybird later you probably will anyway but we saw john proctor is a villain last week
oh okay so going into it i read that like girls were coming out of the theater yeah the booth
theater yeah john wilkes i don't know i hope not um coming out of the theater screaming crying
sobbing shaking throwing up uncontrollably for sure because they were so moved by this yeah and
i said we'll see about that
i said challenge accepted yeah yeah yeah see for me i'm like easy i like saw an ant get crushed i'm like
i'm just like let's see what happens here i said no i knew i'd be those girls we'll see with them
uh that's a real hater in me um no but i went to see this play with um the newsletter lit girl
on step stack it was very cool so we went to the play and then like went to like a dinner after and
just like honestly cried and talked about the play so if you haven't seen it yet which you should we
will not spoil it here but it is by the playwright kimberly bellflower and it's a revisionist take
on the crucible by arthur miller and it centers on a group of high school girls who are reading
the crucible in their like ap lit class and as i'm reading it like the events of the crucible
kind of happened to the girls yeah um it starred sadie sink and now it stars um kiara something i
can't remember her name but i just can't remember her name i can't remember her name but i just can't
i saw the same actress too yeah yeah sadie sink is not in it anymore we didn't see it with sadie
sink but she will be executive producing the movie for it tina fey mark platt as well same writer um
who's just adopting it for screen but if you i mean we suggest it's open till august 31st if you
can get to it run run we would never say run to times square but i'm telling you run to times
square i would say run to times square because that's where the closest all we're into my house
um however i yeah i think that it's like easy to kind of um
you know a lot of stuff is like set in schools now yeah like abbott elementary obviously but i
feel like a lot of stuff like overcompensating even in some ways um so i i don't know i didn't
really know what to expect i was kind of like oh a classroom drama great yeah um but i really liked
the like micro focus on like classroom dynamics where like you are both friendly also kind of
competitive also ambitious like the class like the teacher's pet girl um i really loved that
character i thought it was like so the um i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't
know i don't know i kind of a real sense of like stakes and also loss when you're coming from a
small town and you like want to be special or want to be like like chosen by someone yeah and that
really plays out here amongst these girls like with their kind of like favorite teacher yeah i
um i think the last way i had seen before it was all nighter did you see that no um so at first i
was like oh am i gonna have fatigue of like a classroom type setup yeah uh these girls are
obviously much younger than all nighter those are college girls but um i thought that the high
schoolers are as well i think five girls and two boys each character is so specific yeah so well
done and you do not need more than those exact seven characters to embody what it's like to be
in high school yeah in high school um and i loved the two boys i loved so much as well
uh there's like kind of a more like nerdy follower kid um who was just he's just in game though he
was but he's been in game he got himself a black woman go off kind of a spoiler but not a bad one
not the main one um but there was even something in his mannerism that was so
like the way high school boys totally totally in his like in his first no second scene i guess
when he's like coming into like a feminist club and he just immediately head down on the desk
it's like okay i'll just be here yeah that's mark that's cody yeah you know that type of boy who like
even on the subway coming here i was like dang yeah like you don't you don't care at all do you
life is happening all around you and actually what a beautiful way to live
wish i could embody that more i'm feeling too much um i don't know why i come into a theater
often and i like have a guard up like have like a immediate critique like in terms of the lines
that i'm watching it through so i was ready to be there oh hater and you oh and you know when i go
into the theater i get nervous someone will forget their lines okay we'll miss a cue yeah you have
anxiety babe um but lovingly but i find myself kind of just like ready to be disappointed
especially when something is so hyped up to me something that i thought this play did really well
about like the high school experience is really set up how it feels to like want adults to take
you seriously yeah and want adults to like believe in the same things you believe in or like even
act in like a perfect way um the girls is like not a spoiler very much but the girls like are
trying to make like a feminist club it's like around the time of me too and there's this one
scene where like the um teacher's pet girl is talking to her like female counselor and she's
like please can we have a feminist club like i really want i think this would be great for us
counselor is like well no so so we still live in a patriarchy and people feel like it can't be all
girls there has to be a boy involvement and all that and just like that like level of like pleading
yeah i found extremely moving yeah like yeah i do think there's also something so um well done
about the aspiration toward womanhood yeah these girls yes that's what i mean yes yeah and i think
yes you see that in their teacher dynamic and you see it within themselves yeah and the way that
they like give each other advice or have a rapport
with each other i think that that's something that's so lovely and charming and i got nervous
about the the black girl for a second yeah there's a black girl that's from atlanta georgia
um and i had a pause about the writing around her character but then i actually felt i put that
aside and i felt really empowered and i loved the way that she that actress i forgot her name i'm
sorry um played that role no i thought she was phenomenal yeah i think she was one of my favorite
actors in the play um but no i do i was kind of like i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't
know i'm kind of like oh black girl from atlanta is she gonna be like too like it's gonna be like
a fast girl thing or like she's kind of like you know but it was not that at all and i was really
happy and i kind of um i liked that she was like always like super frank and also her being kind
of like in some ways an entry point into the whole dynamic of the girls because she is new
at school doesn't really know um and that was really good um and it wasn't the kind of thing
where it wasn't all about a boy it wasn't all about like a love triangle or something like that
really grounded in like how can we show up for each other and how are we falling short of that
in these friendships that i thought was like the most dynamic and kind of moving part of it all
you know what i love the most not necessarily about the play itself but walking into that
theater and seeing how many young girls high schoolers college age kids were watching this
play and i came away from it thinking how lucky are they to be watching this and having
an um i don't know like a protection over their autonomy over their own you know girlhood over
their coming of ageness like i as a 31 year old
i keep saying that i keep talking my age that's fine i'm not insecure about that at all no um but
i felt really proud that this younger generation of women get to look at things like this play
and have it to help cement their futures maybe and how they show up in in the world in their
classrooms and stuff like that a hundred percent and i also feel like to see that a play like this
is like getting critical acclaim yeah um also feel i think it's like very instructive
into like women's stories matter did you cry um no but i didn't cry because i don't know why i didn't cry
yeah keep that pause i don't know why i mean i i really enjoyed it and i i thought it did a really
good um i really love the ending i was like ending i truly the ending i was like i hope it ends just
like this yeah i hope it ends yeah because there's nothing more that it's it really yeah yeah um
yeah yeah i did i saw a play of my friends um that my friends did off broadway called nina and
i tried to get you to see it too but i think it was like i have like one more show um but it was
also like women who like go to juilliard and like are in they're like the same class and this really
reminded me of that of that play nina where it's like to be how much do i love her but how much am
i like comparing myself to her and how am i failing her and how is she like disappointing me like that
whole dynamic i thought was so strong in this and that was like the really the part that really made
me close to tearing up you're not gonna ask me if i cried well you said about 31 times
nasty work oh my god
that's it's like that's why i'm like how are you not a gay person

FAQs
Both Shelly and Ace were reportedly given villain edits, with some arguing that Huda also faced scrutiny due to her behavior and prolonged presence in the villa.
Sierra revealed she didn’t end up with Nick and that he only wanted her as a friend, calling it a 'fake' relationship and expressing her pain and healing process publicly.
The cast is divided, with some calling them 'fake' due to lack of genuine connection, while others believe their relationship is real and authentic, especially after their TikTok live streams.
The core issue is the perception that Huda was overly attached and possibly bullying Shelly, while Shelly felt undervalued and questioned if the relationship was genuine or manipulative.
Many believe the real villain is a combination of toxic dynamics, including mental health struggles and lack of boundaries, rather than one person, with Zach with a K also being called out for inconsistent behavior.
The movie was praised for its emotional depth, music, and representation of female friendship and self-acceptance, and it resonated deeply with the hosts, especially regarding themes of identity and belonging.
