Is it Time to Avoid these Week 4 Players?! 👀 | ESPN Fantasy

The episode blends fantasy football analysis with emotional reflection, highlighting key player performances and decision-making strategies. Trevor Lawrence’s controversial game moment and statistical consistency are weighed against his fantasy value, while wide receiver Lad Maconkey’s underperformance leads to a shift in favor of more reliable options like Michael Wilson. Jared Goff emerges as a strong streaming quarterback due to his recent form and favorable matchups, while tight ends Darren Waller and Isaiah Wynn gain attention for rising snap shares and potential upside. The show underscores that fantasy success involves both data-driven decisions and emotional resilience, acknowledging that even with strong stats, player inconsistencies can frustrate fans. It also emphasizes the importance of adapting lineups based on matchups, injuries, and team dynamics. The personal tone—infused with humor, camaraderie, and shared frustrations—results in a balanced view where facts and feelings coexist. A segment on Mavily New York’s new setting mist provides a light-hearted contrast, showcasing a product with long-lasting, comfortable hydration. Ultimately, the episode serves as both a practical fantasy guide and a reminder that the emotional journey of managing a team is as important as the analytics.

A solid wide receiver too, I was predicting a JSN like year 3 breakout and womp, womp on me, womp, womp on the entire Chargers organization. Hey, I'm Liz Losa, this is Facts vs Feelings, and today's fact is that while misery does love company, company often eases misery. Hey Daniel Dopp, I love to see your face, but I'm so bummed that we're not in the same room right now. Yeah, me too. I love seeing your face as well, Liz Losa, but soon I will see you. You'll be back here. We'll be doing more shows together, so I'm not worried about that. But I miss you right now. I miss you right now too, but also right now, I'm in the business of misery, so let's take it from the top, Liz Losa. Trevor Lawrence did me dirty this last week. As a fantasy manager who rostriced him and started him, there was one specific play that really sticks in my crawl right now, if you know what I'm saying. Yeah, that kneel down at the one yard line with eight minutes left. By the way, I don't know if this will make you feel any better, but had he actually plunged over the goal line and scored that touchdown, then his fantasy points per game average would be 19.3, which is very close to the career high 19.9 fantasy points per game that he managed in 2025. Did that work? Was that a balm for your soul at all? No, what could have and should have been did not make me feel better Liz? No. But what about year and week four? I mean, are we thinking that something could have or should have been better here and week four for him? Well, you know, we have to find silver linings, right? And obviously the quarterback position has been decimated. Trevor Lawrence, while not necessarily the prince that was promised, can be a solid stream in week four, facing a vulnerable Bengals defense. He has averaged over 17 fantasy points per game. He's thrown seven touchdowns in three games. He's managing a career high completion percentage of 67 percent. And I like this part even more, a career low off target rate of just 9 percent mentioned the Bengals defense. Yeah, they've gotten a little bit better, but they are also averaging 287 passing yards per game gifted to opposing quarterbacks. I have Lawrence ranked inside my top 10 fantasy players in the position for week four. I am with you on that this week and hoping that things continue in that direction with these pass catchers. A pass catcher, I'm not really excited about the direction they're going, "Lad freaking Maconkey." Pretty sure that's his middle name. My buddy Mike calls him "Bad McDonkey." He's not been good so far to start the season. The entire charger's offense hasn't been good. But he was one of the guys that we were definitely counting on to be a steady, wide receiver two at least in our offense as a fantasy manager. Now, who draws the Seattle Seahawks this week, Liz? What are we doing here? A solid wide receiver too. I was predicting a JSN like year three breakout and Wamp, Wamp on me, Wamp, Wamp on the entire charger's organization. "Lad freaking Maconkey," to quote you, "has a total of 15 targets this season. He's the wide receiver 45 in Looks Draw." Now, I know there was a rib injury in there as well, but the fact of the matter is like, what makes him so frustrating is that when you look at the strong armed Justin Herbert and the sure-handed "Lad Maconkey," and the opportunities in which they've been able to connect, there has been flashes of what could be, right? Like, right now, "Lad Maconkey" is managing an ADOT of 13 and a catch rate of 80 percent. Those two things in tandem, however, are not sustainable because over the past 10 seasons, no wide receiver with a catch rate of 75 percent or more has managed an ADOT of 13.6 or more. So until this often settles into Mike McDaniel's scheme, or until Mike McDaniel better schemes "Lad" for these intermediate routes and grabs for which he has been known for that he's so good at until the intermediate passing game starts to click, and we see Maconkey being used honestly more regularly or like as more of a floor play instead of this constant "Yolo" then excuse me, then I think we can like have some consistency, but I don't know when that's going to happen. I don't think you can drop him though because the talent is there, the potential is there, and that's evident. I do think, however, and given this match up at Seattle, it's easy to bench him. I have him ranked as my wide receiver 30, so I'm not even really that interested in flexing him unless I have to. I am with you, and I don't mind if I have to flex him because I drafted him to be that wide receiver. If I don't have someone on my bench, he's probably going to be the best or most skilled guy that could deliver me fantasy points. However, like you just said, if I've got someone that's gone off, then I do not mind benching him and throwing someone else in there. You said he's got 15 targets so far this season, is that what you said Liz? Yeah. Over three games. Let's talk about Michael Wilson, who I believe had 17 targets last week alone Liz Losa. Yes. This is the kind of guy that I would be benching Lad Maconky for. Yeah, you know, the Maserati morphed into a minivan, and Michael Wilson moved into the driver's seat. The volume has been insane. 17 targets last week were three more than any player has had in a single game this season. Also, maybe we should have been less stubborn about this actually happening because Wilson has averaged 10.8 targets per game and over 19 fantasy points as a result per game since week 11. Over that span of time though, Marvin Harris and Junior has managed just 20 targets. Just 20. So the promotion is real. I don't need to see anything more. Wilson to me is a top 25 play particularly against a banged up giant secondary. Yeah, I am with you 100% on that. They paid this guy a bunch of money for a reason. And now it feels like he is going to be the wide receiver one as they have moved on essentially from Marvin Harris and Junior. But hey, before you guys move on, please do us a favor. Don't forget to like and subscribe to this video. It helps us a ton. It helps other people be able to find it. It means a lot to us and make sure that you call us and leave us a voice mail. The voice mail line is open. 3, 2, 3, 3, 3, 9, 1, 4, 8, 5, leave us your Instagram handle when you do. So we can give you a shout out to let you know you made the show. Lizlosa, nobody is more perennially confused at this network than I am. So we decided only into it. And we made a segment called make it make sense. Because we're three weeks into the football season. And this last week in week three, Case Keenum was a top five fantasy quarterback. I don't understand what's happening in this game that we play Liz. I got a bunch of things that I got questions about. I'm hoping you brought a bunch of things to the table. Maybe we can just do a little therapy session back and forth with each other. How does that sound? Well, I love the way you position this because sometimes surprises are happy. And I do think Jared Goff has been one of those. Oh. I did not anticipate over the summer where we were talking on and on about how deep the quarterback position was though we did often suggest people draft two that Jared Goff would be the QB seven in fantasy points per game averaging nearly 22. And now Jared Goff, given the injuries to the position and the fact that Drake May and Justin Herbert have both flat out stunk is in a streaming position. You should like this as a Lions fan because Jared Goff is the only quarterback over the past three seasons to open the year with three straight games of 25 completions and two or more passing touchdowns. He also has more touchdowns seven than in completions five in the red zone this season. And he has a plum matchup against the Panthers who gave up two touchdowns to Deshawn Watson. Make that make sense. So I think that you can consider Jared Goff a low and a QB one for fantasy purposes this week in the QB 10 to QB 12 range. I am with you on that list. The only quarterback over the last three seasons to have at least 4,500 passing yards and 30 passing touchdowns in each of those three seasons. Liz, I did think that there was going to be a little bit of aggression. And I think you did too around Jalen hurts this year with the Russian specifically. And that regression was going to impact us in fantasy. He wasn't a high end, a top tier QB one. He was the very end of that tier one quarterback conversation. I'm not even sure he belongs in the tier one conversation anymore because even though his rushing has regressed, I kind of thought it was going to go to Saekwon Barkley. And then it didn't really. It hasn't gone to Saekwon the way that I thought it was. It really hasn't gone anywhere. He has not topped nine fantasy points and either of his healthy games so far this year. He did leave game two with a stinger, right? So he has only played two full games, but he has not topped 15 carries in either of those two games. And he has only had one catch in both of those two healthy games as well. That is a surprising part. Wow. You would think that Barkley's dual threat skill set would be more utilized. But also the Eagles are not closing games, right? They lost in week three against the Bears. It was tight against the Titans. It was tight against the commanders. This is not a team that is definitive. And I think therefore games were going to be a lot of fun.
script how are we saying this game script is not going sake on bark Lee's way you would think of a player with the sort of receiving ability that he has would not be game script dependent but he is because right now i mean i think you're saying he's touchdown dependent which makes him not to different frankly than david Montgomery no i mean that's basically what he has become he has zero touchdowns this year and he has three catches that is very david Montgomery ask the problem is this week list they play the rams you want to know how many touchdowns the rams have allowed to running back so far this year i know the answer and it's zero it's zero and so we need touchdowns from sake on it feels like maybe this isn't the week to get it i don't know how you bench him but he's at best like a mid to low end rb2 he's not the guy that we thought he was no i totally agree that is disappointing where do you have him ranked i've got him i believe as running back sixteen this week and that's probably generous because he's sake on bark Lee right it's because his name is sake on bark Lee if he wasn't sake on bark Lee and i looked at the box scores there's no way he would be in that conversation agreed agreed yeah what about you what's the next one you got for me well you know i like to do a little whispering to the tight ends and though i promised myself on sunday night that i was not going to do this when i dug into Darren Waller's numbers i have to put him on the streaming radar i can't believe like what alternate universe am i in i didn't even think stranger things was still a show it's so tilting that Daniel Dopp has just left the the premise is but i will continue on Darren Waller his eight targets last week led the team now obviously jalen koker wasn't available but koker still dealing with a quad issue so there's no reason to think that waller won't see volume again in week four also his snap share has increased every single week thirty four percent forty three percent forty nine percent he already has multiple end zone targets this season in fact the only tight ends with more juan johnson trey McBride and sam laporta see faces the lions this week Daniel definitely doesn't want to come back to here this part Detroit's defense has allowed five different tight ends to hit 13 fantasy points or more they've also given up a touchdown to six different tight ends so dear waller is firmly and so shockingly on the streaming radar thank you for the list next time if you would give me a trigger warning i would really appreciate i didn't need to be here for this i just let you do it i gotta just walk away no it'd been fine i think that this year's Detroit lions are the 2025 Cincinnati Bengals the way that they were a tight end funnel last season it kind of feels like through the first three games at least that is what it has looked like for the Detroit lions with neither of their safety's back Brian branch and Kirby Joseph being bad like it's i'm not sure it gets better anytime soon this so until things change i'm starting every tight end against the lions which means Darren waller is one of them oh i'm so mad about it um can i ask you about another tight end though because i feel like i i am a little bit i think i might have gotten Isaiah likelihood again and i told myself i wasn't gonna get Isaiah likelihood again and then i did it i let myself buy into the hype that was Isaiah likely john harbob bringing him over from the ravens i loved that gonna be a real option for jackson dart i loved that didn't have to hide behind mark anders anymore i loved that and then he has week one 26 some fantasy points all things we love oh it's like we did this we call this obviously and then week two eight point three fantasy points and then week three three point three fantasy points and i'm like i've read the story before yeah Liz here's the thing the points are going the wrong direction but the snap share is going the right direction only 49% of the snaps in week one 69% of the snaps in week two that's nice 84% of the snaps in week three is this just his quarterbacks are bad right now or is this more about Isaiah likely Isaiah likely in us again for like the third straight year in fantasy no i think this is an offense with a coordinator that is not good outside of less predictable situations matt niggie um you know when he's in Kansas city with andy reedy does quite well take him out of that situation um shagago and he flails and now the giants have been faced with a definitely unforeseen challenge the offense has to completely change the tricky thing and the most frustrating thing i think is that you would imagine the tight end position would kind of be the least affected because we know they frequently work as what a safety valve over the middle but that's not been the case i don't think that you can drop likely i still have him ranked inside my top 10 this week versus Arizona i'd like him more for instance than like hunter henry or something so i think you have to just plan for the floor which is going to be about eight points and then if you get lucky and things start to change congratulations yeah i feel like i'm wish casting Isaiah likely to be a tight end one because there's so much scar tissue from previous seasons where i've seen the same narrative workout they're like okay i'm gonna start him as a tight end one for one more week but i reserve the right to change my mind next week if things don't look better for me lizlosa well that is why this game is a compilation of facts and feelings both equally important this is a safe place to place where we can feel free sharing our feelings well Daniel if we are looking at the heavens and screaming make it make sense we have to feel as though other people are doing the same so let's get straight into fantasy therapy what are the submissions so far this week yeah we're going to dive into your DM's first one is at ala sin can i stream Kurt cousins against the chiefs at quarterback this week i also roster Justin Herbert list that's where we have gotten weren't we four would you play cousins so i understand that cousins has been uncharacteristically good just scoring touchdown after touchdown week after week but i don't like this match up against cans of city the chiefs defense has allowed just two passing scores so far this season they've also got the third fewest passing yards what is up must eventually come down and i do think that will be cousins this week i understand wanting to sit Herbert we've talked about quarterback throughout this show especially at Seattle if you could stream i would recommend Kyler Murray he is rostered in about 60% of leagues if you need someone who's more available might i recommend Marcus myriota he is available and i believe 80% of leagues currently yeah i am with you on that one list i would rather play mario than either Kurt cousins or Justin Herbert this week if they were on the roster yeah i think she's me on the waiver wire all right our buddy jayman from the rolling hills trying to get his team out of the gutter here with the voicemail hey this is Jason i'm calling from the beautiful black hills of south Dakota i'm calling more for a pep talk than anything i'm in a super flex league among my team members are Justin Herbert Drake May Drake London and Colston loved ones and Quinter on Judkins needles to say i am getting absolute destroyed so i just need you to tell me that everything's gonna be okay and that these guys who are also supposed to be pretty good are gonna pick it up thanks appreciate it and i do not have an instagram handle that's probably for the best um i i think Jason what i would do first is probably walk outside taking the view of those gorgeous black hills maybe put on a little bit of Marley every little thing man is gonna be okay because even though you're in a super flex league and probably need both of those quarterbacks who are absolutely tanking there are streamable options available we talked about them throughout the show i think you got to dig in and do a little bit of work there and also find some silver linings right like Drake London had a quarterback change and bounced back a little bit Quinter on Judkins we knew it was a volume plays currently the rb 17 in russia temps colston loveland i get the frustration i get the frustration and also Ben Johnson clearly making a concerted effort to get him the ball you rank second on the team in routes run he has the most end zone targets on the squad so it will happen this isn't offense in flux but that was able to stand up to the challenge and appear not just you know stable but victorious just like your squad man i want you to think of yourselves as the weak three Chicago bears on prime time using a dusty quarterback that you didn't even think was gonna be in the rotation and bounce back how about that for a pep talk that's really good Liz i really appreciate your positivity Jason is probably not gonna be all right your team is probably some but i love what Liz just brought to the table let's just be real i mean come on don't give up on fantasy football though bro you keep grow you keep grinding while you can we got another question colin's Jay 1967 okay i've got Khalil Shakir and Romeo dobs at the flex would you start either of those or Brenton Strange and Kyle Menunguy either one of those as well oh so you're gonna get
like eight fantasy points here, right? Like if you start Shakir or Dubs, I would have to start Shakir because I want the option that is attached to the better quarterback and the healthier offense. But I also wouldn't do it if I didn't have to because Wall Strange has theoretically a good matchup against the Bengals. Kaiya Menongai has a better one and more upside against the Jets. Now I know his efficiency has waned over the past three weeks. We don't love that. But Menongai could get you eight fantasy points like these other guys or he could get you 18, particularly and again, in a matchup against the Jets that have allowed four touchdowns of the running back position, two on the ground and two through the air. That would be the upside play and the one I would take among these four. - Yeah, Jameer just got in the end zone three times against that Jets defense. So I'm with you on that list. Have you ever been to South by Southwest? The festival? - No, but I would love to go. I went to Austin for the Grand Prix almost a year ago now in October of 2025 and I had the time of my life. I fell in love with Austin was my first time there. Why is this caller from Austin? - This caller is from Austin, Texas. That's why. - Oh, let's hear from him. - Okay. First and foremost, I love you guys. - Oh. - You guys, I listen to you probably more than daily. I'm probably on repeat twice. - Wow. - There's to be honest. My name is Joey from Austin, Texas. - Love this guy. - My ID handle is underscore Joe, underscore high, underscore roller, underscore. - Four underscores. - Four underscores. - Jody high roller. - Okay. - If anyone gets that reference. Anyway, beautiful ball. How am I feeling about Zayflowers? - Zayflowers. - I feel good about that. - Is, oh my God, like we saw what he did in week one, right? - Yeah. - We saw what he did. Do I sell high on Zayflowers? Am I losing my mind? Is he gonna get hurt again? - That's a different question, Liz. I can't answer that, but should you sell high on Zayflowers? - I mean, for what are you going to sell high? He's already a wide receiver one for fantasy purposes. He managed five catches and cleared 80 receiving yards on weird turf conditions and on a limited snap count. In week three, and now Jesse Minter has said he's gonna be a full go in week four. He is the team's undisputed number one. He's been electric, like I don't, I want the best players on my team and he hasn't mentioned a different position of need that he would want to upgrade with a potential trade. So I think as much as I adore you, Joey, and as much as I would love to see Austin through your eyes, I would sit in a little space of gratitude here. - Yeah, I also love you too, Joey, baby. But listen, if I've got Zayflowers on my squad, I'm just gonna be in on it. All right, that is a very condensed fantasy offense. You're talking about Zayflowers and Derek Henry and the Mar Jackson. It's not like there's a lot of other past catchers. They're actually like that. If I have a wide receiver that is the majority of the gonna be the guy, majority of the time, I want that dude. So I'm in on keeping Zayflowers like Liz, but I do wanna make a field trip out to Austin someday, Liz. Maybe we can go make that happen. - Oh, that'd be fun. - Yeah, all right, I got one last question here. This one last one comes from our producer Ryan. Oh, that's right, our producer Ryan lost to me this week in fantasy football because the Denver Broncos had a pick six at the end of the game. Do you remember that pick six that meant basically nothing but it meant something to me and it definitely meant something to Ryan. Unfortunately, Liz. - Yeah, the best part about this is that Ryan very intelligently played the Minnesota Vikings defense and I think this is the only matchup that Brian Flora's lost. - Yeah, yeah, he was really on this week except for Ryan's lineup. Sorry about that big guy, better days ahead. - Hey, who says defenses don't win fantasy games? (upbeat music) - Well, in case you guys missed it, we had a pretty exciting, unique segment last week. - So Luke, this is Jess, this is Luke. - It's nice to meet you. - It's nice to meet you, Jess. - I don't think either one of you should leave. In fact, I think you should both meet up with your mutual friend groups. This coming Sunday at that Silver Lake bar that is a Lions bar that I will not drop the name of for your own, you know, private reasons. What do you guys think? - Yeah. - I'm down. - Yeah. - Yeah! - So Jess and Luke did meet up. I actually went to the Lions bar to be with them and we had a great time. We watched your Lions win. We watched Jameer give absolutely crushed and everybody, you know what was one of the coolest parts? Everybody had their phones out checking their fantasy scores. So there was definite second screen experience happening. A lot of people stopped me and wanted line up advice. A lot of people upset about Justin Herbert and Quinch on Judkins. I got numerous questions, but the bar was very inviting. They sat next to each other in a booth. And the conversation was sparkling. They asked about you. Luke was very complimentary of you. You are beloved amongst a Lions fan. So you were there with me in spirit for sure. - I love that. I wish I could have been there. I got to ask you how much Lions knowledge did Luke have because he came across like a fan that actually knew quite a bit about football. - I mean, what was interesting was he did tell my friend who's a professional hairdresser in Los Angeles, a city that does hair regularly. That he got a new haircut, but didn't want to not wear his lucky Lions hat. So purposely covered it. What I appreciated most was that these were two before this moment, strangers who were open to possibility, who were just stunned at what the universe presented them and went for it. And maybe this is a rom-com in the making, or maybe this is nothing more than an awesome story, but kudos to people like staying open and just not just being factual all the time, but giving some of those feelings, some real credence. (crowd cheering) - Least cool. (bells chiming) - Today we learned that while Trevor Lawrence may not be the prince that was promised, at least Justin Herbert investors can find refuge in the pleasant surprise that is Jared Goff, and that often commiseration can provide catharsis. Be sure to check out my week four edition of Facts vs Feelings, The Column, which is currently live on the dot com, and leave us a voicemail. We want all of your cashouts, crash outs, and week four lineup questions. The number to call is 323-391-4855. Until next time, may your facts be solid, your feelings be right, and your bus be someone else's problem. (upbeat music) Daniel Dopp, I'm in LA, you're in Bristol, and I miss you. I miss you too, Liz, but listen. I'm moved over that real quick. I miss you too, but anyway. Meet new grippy setting mist from Mabelie, New York.
