- How's it going?
I'm Dr. Benjamin Hardy.
- And I'm Blake Erickson,
and we are the founders of Scaling.com.
And today we present the audiobook Time is a Tool.
How to scale your company 10 times faster.
- We are super excited to present to you this material.
You are going to have some massive reframes
during this audiobook.
This audiobook is going to definitely change
the way you view time from multiple dimensions
so that you can not only achieve more faster,
but honestly, so that you have
a completely different model of time.
So with that said, let me go ahead and just tell you
the breakdown of the chapters in this audiobook.
The first chapter is called Your Future is the Filter
for Your Present.
In that chapter, we're going to give you
a completely new psychological model of time,
showing you that everything you do in the present
is based on the future that you're operating from.
And your future is the primary thing
shaping what we call your frame in psychology.
Your frame is how you see the world.
But it's your goal, it's your future that shapes your frame.
And so the better you get at setting a future
about using your future as a tool,
the better and more powerfully you can operate
in the present, the better you can filter
the signal from the noise.
So that's going to be chapter one.
There's a lot of depth in there.
Chapter two is what we call Speed of Time.
In chapter two, you're going to learn that time is relative.
And obviously that's what Einstein discovered.
But we're going to use that psychological insight
that time is relative from person to person
to show you how you can slow your time down.
The only way to scale aggressively
is to slow your time down.
And how you slow your time down
is you cover more distance in a shorter period of time.
There are a few core points
when it comes to understanding the speed of time.
The first one is knowing that time is really
a measure of distance when it comes to physics.
And so the further distance you can cover
in a given amount of time, the slower your time goes.
So say, for example, you have a goal
of getting your company to $10 million revenue.
Let's just say that you're at 1 million right now.
So you can cover that same distance
going from 1 million to 10 in a year,
or you could cover that same distance in 10 years.
If you can cover that distance in one year,
then your time is 10 times slower.
That's our goal for you is to help you slow time down.
Another key point in that chapter
that we're excited to break down for you
is the idea that time is either going to promote you
or it's going to expose you.
And if you're not growing fast,
what's gonna happen is your time's gonna go fast
and a decade's gonna go by
and you're gonna find your future self
in a position you don't want to be in.
And so part of what we're gonna help you do
in that chapter is to be far more promoted
in shorter chunks of time.
We're gonna show you how you can start achieving
10, 20, 30 years of growth in maybe one, two or three.
Chapter three is all about extreme deadlines
and using seemingly impossible deadlines
to force out the noise, to force out inefficiencies
and to find what is called the crux in strategy psychology.
Elon Musk said, "If a timeline is long, it's wrong."
If you have a 10-year goal,
that future is not a powerful future
to impact your present.
Anything beyond three years out is a distraction.
The future is a tool for impacting your present.
So we wanna help you use much more aggressive timelines
so that your present becomes far more filtered.
Chapter four is called duplication of time.
In this chapter, we're gonna show you
how you can duplicate yourself far more,
but also how you can leverage other people's time.
And not everyone has the same amount of time.
As an example, we have a dear friend who's a billionaire.
That billionaire has very different time than we have.
What do I mean by that?
Well, in his model of time,
he has access to so many people that I don't have access to.
So he has knowledge, networks, resources,
and other things that we simply don't have.
And so you want to tap into other people's time.
You want to leverage other people's time.
You can do this by hiring.
You can do this with partnering.
You could do this with getting knowledge from other people.
So we want you to duplicate your time
so that it's not just you spending your time doing one to one.
It's your ability to stack hundreds of peoples of time
towards your singular goal.
The final chapter, chapter five,
is called mastery over your past.
So just as we've been talking about the future
as a tool to impact your present,
the past is also a tool.
Now, I want this to be very clear from the beginning.
The past is not nearly the tool that the future is.
The future is probably 10 times more powerful
of a tool than the past,
yet the past is still a very important tool.
And if you do not learn how to utilize your past as a tool,
then your past is going to be the thing driving
and dictating who you are and what you do in the present.
And that is not what we want you to do.
That is not how you scale.
That's how you get stuck repeating patterns.
That's how you get stuck on a linear path.
That's how you get stuck speeding up time.
Is if you let the past dictate the present and the future.
We do not want you to do that.
We want you to learn how to master your past
to continually transform it and use it as rocket fuel
for the massive future that's shaping who you are
and what you do in the present.
We're very excited for this.
Welcome to time is a tool.
Once you learn how to use the past as a tool,
it will become powerful fuel for the future
that is shaping your present.
- Hey, Paul founder, Peter Thiel once said,
you must believe in secrets.
The great secret is that there are still many secrets
left to find.
And if you find them, you can go 10 times faster.
Time is a tool is one of those secrets.
This audio book will not only redefine what time is for you,
but it also changed the way you use it
and your relationship with it.
And the result of that will be scaling your business faster
than you ever could before.
Welcome to time is a tool.
