*The Seer of Possibilities* is a dark, psychologically unsettling horror story about Jack, a quiet, isolated man who receives cryptic messages from a supernatural entity called the "Seer." The Seer begins with a minor request—moving a potted plant at a specific time—leading to a tragic accident that kills Jack’s coworker’s girlfriend, Ali. The Seer later reveals that Jack was never in love with Ali, only attracted to her for sexual reasons, making the death a predestined outcome. The Seer is a disembodied, manipulative force that offers Jack a series of tasks, each resulting in harm to others but always ending with a personal reward—such as a lottery win or financial gain. Over time, Jack becomes complicit, performing these acts repeatedly, while the Seer ensures that good outcomes always balance with suffering. The story explores themes of manipulation, selfishness, and moral ambiguity, suggesting that Jack’s actions—driven by desire for power and reward—are ultimately self-destructive and ethically wrong. Though framed as a supernatural tale, the narrative subtly critiques human nature, showing how people can be manipulated into harming others for personal gain. The horror lies not in the violence itself, but in the ease with which Jack accepts these tasks, becoming a passive agent of destruction in exchange for fleeting rewards. The story’s chilling conclusion reinforces that true evil lies not in overt acts of violence, but in the quiet complicity of choosing self-interest over empathy.
[Music] Welcome back to Creepcast. Today, we're reading a story called The Seer of Possibilities, which currently, at the time of recording, on CreepiePosta.com, is sitting at a solid, and I mean rock solid, house made of bricks, 9.08 out of 10. It's pretty good. From almost 9,000 votes, okay? Just real quick, not to kill your vibe or anything. Don't look up a bad story with a high rating. Don't look at a bad story with a high rating. I just want to say that, uh, unrelated Jeff the killer is a.7. So it's a.7. It's actually a.69. It's eight. Oh, I think it was just a.7. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Point being, sometimes, well, then we can at least talk to this guy. I'll put it better this way. 9.08. It's certainly remembered. Actually, on mine says it's a 9.41. 9.41 is not bad either. It's not bad. It's not bad. Well, hopefully the sheer possibilities can live up to the hype. It'll be remembered. The legend that is Jeff the killer. It also claims a 14 minute read or 19 minute read time. So I never trust there. I never trust there. That's a good hour and a half. Yeah. We don't read all the way through. Right. So just know that if you don't like the tangents, there are plenty of people who probably have read the story that don't stop and give gab. That's that being said. Wow. Have you considered signing up for the Patreon? You want more content? You want more of this? Feel free. It's right there for you. I will put a little link in the description. Feel free to support the channel at patreon.com/creepcast or if you're listening to this on Spotify, Apple Podcast, considering giving us a nice little rating there. It does help us out. Isaiah, are you ready to dive in? No. Nothing about happy. I'm here or you've been here enough. The pleasant trees are, I mean, we're back at we're back. What do you mean? You're always here. We just recording separate rooms. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I forgot. I live right there. Yeah. You're on the second floor. I'm on the first floor. Yeah. Right. Right. And we don't have to come record here sometimes because such it's like there's a staircase. Yeah. I don't want to have to walk up it. I did get picked up from the airport this time. I did. You're welcome. Hunter did not pick me up. Thank you. Harry. Harry picked me up. I just want to just want to let me just want a little bit let me know that made sure to make a concerted effort to get you picked up. I should have a little work I had to do beforehand. But you got picked up and also quit. So you're taking credit for Harry coming to pick me up slightly, slightly. And I will, but I will say it is raining again and guess you didn't have to walk up the driveway in the rain again. That's the point. Thank you. Harry that I didn't have to walk off the driveway. I'm going to take just while it's flight in the air to Harry. I'm just going to snag a little bit off. Hey, I'm going to throw this way. I'm pocket grab that. No, it is. No, no, no, no, I'm going to take a little bit of it. Have you ever heard of this story, by the way? No, I haven't. I think I've only heard of it because we have looked at the top rated stories before on creepypasta.com. And this is one of them. It's written by Thomas oh Wagner, which I'm pretty sure we'll leave the link in the description. I'm pretty sure he has like a horror anthology book on Amazon. However, we need to fact check that because there's like a dozen Thomas Wagner a lot of Thomas Wagner's so if he isn't the one who has the story, then he shares the name with the person. It's pretty cool. But this story was published in January of 2015. So, you know, older story hints. I feel like now, which it's been revitalized a little bit, but I feel like now creepypasta.com certainly isn't like the place people go for stories like it used to be. So this was back website pop in, you know, much more competitive for some of the stories that are in. And like we talked about before, there's certainly some stinkers that got a high rating for the meme value of it. But there were, we've certainly read some good stories that have come out of the website. So, of course, 99, yeah, all kinds of good stuff. I mean, even recently, same man, I don't think same man was too terrible. I was like, I was kind of down here with it, but then that ending, yeah, it raised it up for me. I thought certainly it's no bad time. But no bad time. But pretty good still. Yeah, no bad time. The thing with, I was going to say the last time that you were here, which is just, this is just a thing of, I wonder if there's going to be any repetition at all because we didn't know. But I wonder if this is also going to, because last time we were in person, recording together, there was a story with a fish rape. So maybe that will happen here in the zero possibilities. That is, that is in the zero possibilities. I, I would have to say, if a story titled The Seer of Possibilities contains fish rape, that's certainly in the zero possibilities. I'll be surprised to say the least. I'll be surprised, but it was a possibility. I guess anything is a possibility. That's what that's what makes this, that's what makes this story so powerful so far. Is that anything that happened? Is there any bear traps you'd like to lay beforehand? It's going to be like probably some like mystic, like father time kind of figure, if I had a guess. What does Seer mean to someone who sees things? So is it like a profit? Typically. Yeah. Or like a medium or something they see another realm or something like that, possibilities to see another realm. Hmm. Yeah. I'm thinking of a scribe. That's what I'm thinking of. It's a person that writes down shit. Have you ever done the, the Wu-Tang name generator? I have. It's totally a different direction. So there's like wrappers and stuff who have gotten their name from the Wu-Tang name generator. You like enter your full name and it gives you like what your Wu-Tang clan member name would be. And mine was Iron Profit. Iron Profit. Iron Profit. And that goes so hard and I need to use that for something at some point in the future. Mine is called expert warrior. Your full name makes your warrior. Yes. And I think that that's not bad. Expert warrior. And I do think that it feels genuine to my character. Would you consider yourself a warrior? That was me. That was me. That was a little rude. I know that you're laughing because I'm so lovable. Then I'm cuddly. Right. And the idea of me getting in a fight is so charming. I really can't imagine a scenario where you like physically fight someone because you're so kind. I can't see you escalating a conflict to that level. No, I'm so lovable. What would it take for you? I'd rather kiss somebody. I would subdue a conflict with the kiss before I did physical altercation. That would probably start another kind of conflict. Well, I think on the scenario. What would have to happen for you to like punch someone? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Even if even if somebody was wronging somebody I loved, it'd be subdued with a kiss. Okay. That's what they call us. So if we leave here, we go to a Buffalo Wild Wings. Oh, I'm already kissing somebody. If I'm going to Buffalo Wild Wings, someone's getting cut someone's getting kissed. Yeah. Well, that's understood. But if I get mugged in the parking lot, you're going to kiss laughing. First, I'm laughing. Okay. If you if I watch you actually get mugged in the parking lot of Buffalo Wild Wings, I'd be like, guys, it December 25 because I feel like fucking Chris was right now. That'd be unfathomable watching you laid black down in a Buffalo Wild Wings parking lot. Holy shit. I kissed him off. I could hit you. Thank you for that. I say, oh, I will say that would be I kiss you awake that if I get knocked out, I wake up. My stuff's gone and you're canceling me. It's a self-defense situation for me now. I'm not every time you try, you try. I block it. It diverts. It diverts the punch. Oh, I'm getting mad thinking about. I will say if you ever see me get mugged, leave me there. Don't even just proceed for it. Let me get up dust myself off and come in. Every scenario we discuss, your ultimatum has always just let me die. There really is no point of letting me live at that point. I will say any situation and I'll and this is complete. You could name any situation. Any situation is easily fixed with a 10 piece count of Parmesan garlic wings, boneless wings, a buffalo wings. I'll say it. There isn't a lot that can't be, you know, solved with that. You know, maybe like, you know, Nazi Germany, Hitler, rising to power. Maybe you have someone slid in the 10 piece. We'll get a little more philosophical question. No, I think someone, if someone slid him a 10 piece at just the right time like right after he gets kicked out of art school right before he becomes a politician, I think that could have saved a lot a lot. I would only hope. Yeah. The seer of possibilities. I think that your call is pretty correct though. I like the idea of it being, uh, is it a fortune teller? Is that what a seer? Well, a seer can be like a fortune teller. I mean, it's a generalized word for just like someone who sees beyond. So it can be time. A seer is a person who claims or is believed
to have the ability to see it or predict future events through visions, prophecy, or supernatural. So if I can no shodamas, that's a seer. Like a or? Yeah. Like an oracle. Yeah. I mean, no shodamas may have a bunch of predictions, but if you were to say that like, no shodamas was like correct, like he actually didn't have supernatural info then, yeah. I mean, kind of turn. Actually, I don't have enough. I like the title now. Why do you suddenly not like it? What's like, well, no shit. Well, let me look into the future. There's possibilities. The, you know, I guess everyone in a way is a seer of possibilities. It's just just about what would be a thought? Could you elevate it by saying the unfortunate seer? We look at me as doing this. Oh, no. That's what I want to say. The seer I want to see. I'm doing this. Oh, oh, no. Well, if you, if you have the ability to see the future, that you can't change it, that would be, I mean, that'd be a really sucky. That's why he was, oh, oh boy. Oh, she's in crackers. Oh boy. Oh, she, oh my God. That 401K, buddy. I wouldn't worry about it. Don't put in more money to it. Yeah. No. All right. Let's actually start reading. All right. The seer of possibilities by Thomas O. Author to be determined. Sometimes, otherworldly beings find interesting ways to try and contact you. They might capitalize on your use of a Ouija board, or maybe come to you in a dream, or sometimes they speak through another person. They each have their own style and preference. That's particular to them. The one who contacted Jack spoke to him through his computer or more accurately via onscreen text. The first time it happened, Jack was seated at his PC, plane solitaire, blinking red light from the router indicated that his internet connection was down again. This was a near weekly occurrence, and Jack simply made note of it and returned his attention to his game. That was until the screen, a promptly went black. A moment later, red text appeared. Jack, there's another sentence. I think we have two different versions, which mine, mine's a little different here. I'm on Creepypasta.com. I went to Creepypasta stories.com. That would explain the difference in the thing. Stand by. That would explain why I was 9.4 and I'm going to have one. All done, all done. Awkward. All right, now I'm on sheer possibility. Red text appeared. Okay. Now there was a difference between whatever. There's a lot. What was this one? It was at least a weekly occurrence, and Jack was getting used to the spotty internet service. As he moved his cards, the game faded into a solid black screen and the red text appeared. It's a little different. It's quite different. There was a lot. I don't know how they got is it? This is like a translated text. They're uploaded the same day. They're both a promise. I don't know. I like more. All right, we'll go with the Creepypasta.com version then. So go ahead and do the quote. Hi, Jack. I need a favor from you. You're a very special person, and I know you'll help me. I can't ask this of just anyone I really need. You'll help. You know, we talked about before, but these old Creepypasta authors did not mess around. Like the moment they're typing, it's like the monsters here. It's going to get there really is very little set up. It's just kind of like, by the way, he's here. Yeah. I think of the Sandman where it's like, I have a kid and I live in this house. Anyway, there's a naked man on the child's bed, like straight away. But I mean, at the time, it was like the attention economy. You know, you got to be worse now. Well, I'm sure it's worse now, but now I think there's an understanding that there's at least with the successful ones we've seen, there's like an elevated threshold for the story itself. So people will take the time if a story uses it well to kind of lead into it better. Whereas back then, it's like monster attack. You're in danger. Well, what I'm wondering is was this kind of storytelling was a cheaper, quicker way to get a thrill of being like, you want to get in, get out and people like, oh, that was a quick and creepy pasta. So there was something that was quick. Versus now, I think people want legitimate, full on stories. I think so. They have more, like people yearn for a longer, yeah, like a more a feasible thing. I think so. I mean, the ones we've covered that were the biggest fan of is the longer ones. Yeah. Something with it. So I would say so. Jack paused for a second. Router like was still blinking red. This is some sort of joke. He couldn't help but wondering. So maybe this is all right. Several moments later, the message continued. Yes, Jack. I know this is weird for you, but I don't want you to worry. This is just a small, easy favor I need. I'll make sure you're awarded. So this 100% sounds like prostitution. This is not. Yeah. Show hold, Jack. I don't want a gate hole, Jack. Okay. There you go. You got somewhere and I'm like, yeah, it's fine. We can sit here. Well, if we go over here, even more, we keep going over. Gate is a very unfortunate word. That's a, that's a rough word to throw in. It's a gate hole. Now nearly in a panic, Jack reached around and pulled the internet cable completely from the wall. Still here, Jack. I don't want to waste any more of your time. So I'll get right to what I need. Tomorrow, when you go to work, I need you to move the large potted plants that's next to the elevator on the ground floor. All you have to do is pull it out three inches from the wall. And if you do it at 817 a.m., nobody else will be in the area. Jack's sat there, refusing to respond, still trying to figure out what was happening. The riding continued. Look, Jack, I'm asking because I know you'll do it. You won't let me down. You're special. We'll talk tomorrow. Jack pulled the power cord from the wall and the computer went blank. Did that really just happen? Still, by the, if I got these messages out 100% assume it was a terrorist or something. Yeah, I was just a scammer at first. By me, my immediate thing is like, this is the, this is like the Indian guy that's calling like the old woman. He's like, you have to go to Best Buy and get Google Play gift cards. Whatever and doing that kind of scam. Yeah. I mean, the pot of plant thing. I feel like the pot of plant thing that's kind of the equivalent of like, hey, go here and leave this package somewhere. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, it seems like almost like a vaudeville fucking buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin joke, move the, move the pot of plant out at this time. And then someone's going to trip over and we're all going to laugh really hard. If I had to guess what it is, this person's like a psychic and they're like, oh, that plant is going to cause like an outlet to short or something. There'll be a fire or something like that. Yeah, probably, but I would assume this was what if there's a leak in the ceiling and the water going down feeds the plant. No, that would also be a very lame power. It's like you can see the future, but just for like really minor things, business floors going to die. If you move it here, the custodians don't have to water it anyway. That kind of thing. You have to, those custodians, they're overworked anyway. Jack to Jack, think of the custodians. Still shaking from the experience, he took a warm shower and got ready for bed, convincing himself that he'd either had some crazy dream that this was just some elaborate joke. But who would play that kind of joke on him? They don't really have friends or enemies. God fuck you, Jack. God fuck, Jay. I don't really have friends. I don't really have friends, but not like you mentioned it. I don't really have any enemies either. No one really talks to me that much. Yeah, this, what if it turns out that Jack's a ghost? That's such a crazy pull. You never know. He's like, well, I never really had friends, but I don't have enemies. No one really knows I exist. Right? It's a left-right game ending and like he's the seer talking to him in the fashion version of himself. He woke up the next morning feeling refreshed. Work would start at 8.30 a.m. and Jack was never late. Well, then to the parking lot at 8.10 a.m. Normally, he'd just go ride in, but the message told him to move the plant at 8.17. Was he really going to do it? Over night, Jack's fear turned into curiosity. Let's say he moved the plant. He wouldn't be doing anything wrong or illegal, right? In Jack's mind, the most reasonable course of action was to move the plant. He'd do it, nothing would happen, and he'd be able to put this whole crazy matter behind him. One minute before 8.17, Jack left his car and walked towards the building. He entered the foyer at the exact time he was supposed to. The message was right. Nobody else was around. The building was normally busy this time of morning, but this temporary lol had been accurately predicted. Fine. Let's see what happens. He walked up to the large-potted plant placed firmly between the two elevators in the lobby of the tin story building. Plant looked like it was fake. Decoration people passed every day without really noticing. It was heavier than Jack realized. He put some light into his effort and pulled the plant out 3 inches to his best estimate. He stood back and looked at the plant, looked around the lobby. People were coming in behind him now and the lobby was starting to fill up again. Nobody seemed to notice the plant was in a slightly different location. I think it seemed different at all. Jack skipped the next elevator.
and waited, waited for something, but nothing happened. Finally, Jack entered the elevator and made it to his seventh floor cubicle on time like always. If you ever asked Jack's co-workers to describe him, you'd hear words like polite, quiet, respectful, and competent. And while those words were all accurate, they gave little indication of the truth. The truth that Jack really didn't like most people. That's not to say, dislike them, just that he had very little interest in getting to know them or being their friend. Say for one. Allie, girl who sat two cubicles down from him, was the only person he wanted to know more about. With her big smile, blonde hair, and pu- All right, Jack might be a little bit of a creep. That was the exact- I like how big her teeth are, she has nice hair, and she's a great ass. You've got your head all the way up it. He, the description of like he doesn't talk to anyone, doesn't have friends or enemies, but it's like, but there's this curl. A couple of cubicles. It makes him feel like a creep. Yeah, 100%. Yeah, I mean, I'd say that he doesn't know her, but I'd like to get to know her. Also, I like how one of the attributes was he's competent. He sounds like a fucking robot. Sounds like a psychopath. This definitely is a man who does not talk a lot, and you can tell that she definitely Alice or Allie. Allie is looking over. She's just doing some work and she'll be like, and look over to her left, and Jack's just like, he's like, this is Jack looking from a cubicle. Yeah, every once in a while just- Have you seen the plant today? Yeah. Did you just notice I moved the plant three- three inches? It's kind of cool. She's hitting the HR button. Yeah, that's awesome, Jack. Yeah, pressing the red button under her desk. That's so cool what you're done. Everyone has a Jack button in the office. He's coming closer. He's coming closer. Back to the episode. All right. There it is. With her big smile, blonde hair and beautiful figure, Jack was very interested in learning all about her. Despite how I like that. Despite his lack of success with women in the past, he was actually doing a fair job getting to know her. I mean, this is just not just teabed, really, but this is where are we getting like to insult territories? Despite his lack of success with women in the past, he was actually doing a fair job of getting to know her. How? Well, it says in the next sentence, you would just pass her cubicle. Oh, it's literally as delicious real. Every morning as he passed her cubicle, he'd stop for a chat. The chats were one minute at first, then two minutes, then several minutes. Jack was surprised that she actually seemed to like him. This is the biggest show. I mean, she's afraid. She really likes. She's afraid of that, man. Hey, Jack. Huh. Punny, crazy weather. What happened? I couldn't help but notice that you brought in a tuna sandwich for lunch. Oh, it does too. Uh-huh. I try to get white to work. Crazy weekend. You're like oven up, not potty and what I hate though is he's just like, wow, 60 seconds. That's kind of quick. And then next time he's just like, okay, two minutes. Yeah, when's the last time you've had like a short chit chat with someone and then remembered the time? That was a three and a half minute right there. Wow. Also 100% get up to go to like, go to the water cooler. Goes around. She's fucking peeking on the corner. There's Jack. Oh, hydration buddies. Oh boy. Yeah, I don't even think the story because just from, I mean, we've read so many of them just from the way these old stories were written. I feel like it's certainly trying to set dress. My laptop just shut now. Thank you, Nick, for the time laptop. Don't worry. Pull it out the spare mag over here. From the, I couldn't just start it with the book. From the way these old stories are written, they're certainly just trying to set dress. Sure. But every vibe they're going with so far, just screams, mass shooter insult territory. I think Thomas. Oh, are we trying to insinuate that he is maybe a little like Jack? No, no, I don't think so. I think that I think Thomas. Oh, might be a little like you can slander an author like that if you want. I'm just slaying. I don't know who this Jack here is. Yeah, I'm assuming you just described a kind of guy who like is trying to like weirdly interact with women. And then I said was a school shooter type. Well, I didn't hear like, oh, yeah, like the author. I'd say that qualifies for one. But my point is I think that he's just trying to set dress, but the way he's trying to give the story of creepy connotation with it comes off as this guy is scary, which if that's what he's trying to do, excellent job. Okay. Well, I just want to say that the first image is when I type in Thomas O to Google images, you know, see the first image I see this is bad. No, this is literally the first image I see in Thomas O. Okay. One of the aristocrats that's interesting. That's the first image. And for the rest of it, I'm going to assume he looks like that that he's also char. Well, well, I you like the idea of a cat, a talking cat who doesn't have a lot of friends, but also the other one was a Chinese guy. So I don't I mean, it could be him Wagner doesn't sound like a Chinese last name, but who knows? Here, can we get a fact check on that? All right, go ahead. On this particular morning, their daily conversation lasted only a couple of minutes. As they exchange their morning greetings and talked about Ali's wild night out. Jesus, the elevator, the elevator doors open up behind them out, hobbled James Bentley, the boss of both Jack and Ali. James's loud complaining could be heard throughout the office. Damn, my damn foot. What happened, James came to the mumbled quarries. It's a damn plan that they have in the hobby. I ran right into it and twisted my ankle. James, you can barely walk. You need to go to the hospital. Came Ali's concern reply. Can't do it now. I have meetings all day to important to cancel. I just have to tough it out. Fuck a little. We'll improv there. Reader, little improv there. Gosh, it is a tornado outside. It's my gosh. When it wanes, it pulls. Okay. All right. Did he was he walking through the lobby like sprinting? He had to kick that plan. So that or I'm guessing like maybe it's a thing you're in. You're just in your groove. You're always walking to work with your phone and your face, whatever. Yeah. All right. Jack feeling stunned left Ali's cubicle mid conversation and sunk down into his chair. It was his fault. He was sure of it. How could he have been so stupid, careless? Still, know you some worrying about it now. Twisted ankle would heal. Everything would be all right. Upon his return home, Jack went immediately to his computer and turned it on. As soon as the computer booted up, the screen went black and a new message popped up.
"How was your day, Jack?" He sat there, staring at the screen, not knowing how to answer. Message on the screen continued. "Actually, I know how your day was, but never let it be said that I'm not polite. You're wondering what's going on. You want to know why James Bentley had to twist his ankle?" Well, Jack, this chain of events isn't done playing out. I don't want to tell you too much too soon, but this will all make sense to you in short order. Just go to work tomorrow, like you normally do. Don't worry about a thing, Jack. You'll be rewarded. You're special. Talk to you tomorrow. Bear trap. What's your bear trap? My bear trap is, Jack is 100% looking at his reflection of the computer and he's talking to himself. I wouldn't be surprised if this is like a future version of him trying to align things, because maybe this, where they've named dropped Ali and talked about it, results with his future version. Somehow, his future subconscious guy is into this computer, goes back to the past, try to course correct. I don't feel good about this. What I say here, just know that it's not, I'm not happy. How do we know it's not future Jack trying to get past Jacks and pussy with Ali? That's what I think is happening. He's trying to set some stuff up. If you can make love to Ali, you won't be made of binary code anymore, Jack. Or something. You lost me a little bit on that one. Like this future version of his consciousness is in this computer he's talking about something to think. Jack in the real world is binary code. No, no, no. The future version is something. Yeah, it's like his own stuff because it doesn't use the internet or anything like that. It's kind of like him in the future giving himself advice and the past sort of thing. Jack sat back in his chair. What was going on? Who was this sending him messages? Jack's curiosity was fully engaged and he was almost a bit excited to see what would happen next. I mean, does it not just seem like a boner? The description there, Jack's curiosity was fully engaged. Who the fuck says that? And he was almost a bit excited to see what would happen next? No, I didn't get that at all. Do you think he says that when he gets hard? Fully engaged. No, my curiosity is, Ali, you'd be happy to know that my curiosity is fully engaged. God. See, does that now, what about that? Sure, man. I mean, I did or cut that but still. The things you decide to cut. Did you not cut that? Someone needs to bear witness to what I put up with. You are a bearing witness or here he's here. I bear big feelings yet, maybe. He's bearing witness, bear trim. Okay. The next morning at work started off as any ordinary day. Jack noticed that the plan had been pushed back fully against the wall, probably by the night cleaning crew. James Bentley showed up shortly after lunch, hobbling into the office on his one good foot. "This man's foot is fucking killing me!" Again, a little liberation there with the story. Jack could overhear him say, but apparently James still had a meeting he didn't want to miss. It wasn't until around 3 o'clock that Jack saw him again. James, who always seemed to prefer Ali over others, came limping up to her cubicle. "Ali, you're not doing anything right now, are you?" "Um, no. Nothing that can't wait until tomorrow, I guess." "Good! Could you please drive me to see my doctor?" "I probably should have gone yesterday, but I just couldn't get away. This pain is just killing me right now and I don't think I can drive myself. I barely made it here this morning and I don't think I can even push the gas pedal right now. We could take my car if you want." "Yeah, that's fine, James. I don't have a problem taking you." Turning to Jack, she said her goodbye. "See you tomorrow, Jackie." "Oh, she gave him a nickname, see?" "She does like me." She put on her coat and slowly followed James as he struggled down the hallway. She gave a half turn in a shrug and Jack's direction, the little smile as she walked away. Jack felt even lonely or the normal when she was gone. All right. I mean, I just, did you just picture that musical thing in a movie? She walks away and camera focuses on him. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. Well, maybe not that detail. She's my lover, but at the same time, she's going to kill humanity. That would be crazy choice. It was 10 minutes later that they all heard the crash. It, oh. No. It was preceded by the loud horn of an 18 bullets. There it is. Ah. Waiting for that. Yeah. That's it. All right. I knew I'm just like it's going to, it's going to put the foot on the gas literally at some point. It was now that you moved the office plant. James is dead. I love it. It was now we can have Ali all to us. I love read that line again. It was preceded by the loud horn of an 18-wheeler and screeching brake. So Ali, Ali was just like a fucking, I don't know, like a, like a B-wick pulling out. Oh, Ali will be traumatized for life now, but she needs a shoulder to cry. She's dead. No, no. This killed James. How do you think so? Oh, always it going to be. He's out of the picture now. No, no. He's going to have to tend to her. That's what I'm saying. Yeah. She'll need a shoulder to cry on. That's why baby, bud. You will fight. I can bring her back to life. No, the eye. Wait, so why would be important that she that James died though? Because it was assuming that he was moving in on his office girl. It could be two things. It could be because it says James always preferred Ali to the others. Yeah. So James is dead now. So don't go worry about that competition. And or like you said, he can like baby bird her back to health. And this isn't in cell horror story. Which, if that is the direction it's going, absolutely set up. Because that's where the vibes we got. I mean, we'll see. I mean, we'll see. Even on the way it's phrased, thanks to an imply he was also an attractor trailer. Like that's his daily driver. Even on the seventh floor it was loud. The office workers gasped and ran to the windows. Is that James Carr? No one asked. Hard to tell from up here, it's so banged up. A horrifying implication of what just happened came to Jackie immediately. No, no, no. This can't be true. Shaking all the way, he ran to the elevator and went to the ground floor along with several others from the office. Some of them were crying. As they joined the growing crowd around the scene of the accident, Jack had heard the far-off sound of emergency sirens. Looking past the gockers, he could see that the 18-wheeler had hit James' car's broadside. Its driver had been thrown out onto the pavement where he lay motionless. James was sitting in the passenger seat of the car. That should be where she lay motionless, right? Because the driver was Ali. I think it's talking about the driver of the diesel. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. James was sitting in the passenger seat of his car motionless with a surprised look on his bloody face. Jack could tell if he was alive or dead. The driver's side where Ali was seated had taken the hit. The space she'd been occupying had been compacted to a third of its original size. Ali's okay, maybe. Maybe this is a different direction. Ali's head was smashed open. And her twins.
twisted body was broken and battered. - All right, completely wrong in home. - I told you, I was so wrong. - No, you were saying that. - I said she was dead. - She's dead. - Oh yeah, you're right on that one. - But not the baby bird thing, but she's dead. - Well, Isaiah, what if he's going to try to resurrect her? - That'd be a twist. - I was in it. - All of a sudden, if a some kind of Native American or old man, I think this might go pet cemetery route because remember a big rig hit the tiny baby and then the dad freaked out and took her, you know, or took the baby to the pet cemetery. - Yeah, yeah, whatever. - But I'm just saying, there might be something there. I'm like, we can bring her back though. - Yeah. - Whatever, but you have to do this to me. - And I have to keep continuously doing horrible shit whatever to bring her back. - Could be, we'll see. - Alley's head was smashed open and her twisted body was broken and battered. The crowd was stunned. Tears, screams, sirens, that was all jacket here. Now going back inside the building, Jack ran to his car and drove home angry and sad. Okay, so I understand it's 'cause he feels responsible. - But. - Gagling over there. - Well, I just imagine, imagine this is what you do. You are, you just watch, you're watching somebody's head and split open like a fucking crush water. - Right, right. - Right, you do this, you do. (laughs) - Not going to help, not going to do anything. Just, you're driving home. - And yeah, it's like, oh, he's like, "No, no." - Squat a minute. - You go fill up gas on the way home. You're at the pump tap in your foot, yeah. (laughs) - Oh, I gotta go inside for my receipt. (laughs) - Yes. - I see cashier. - This is the worst guy I'm angry and I am sad, so. - He made the journey home and to his computer. They're the machines sad. He wanted to turn it on, but was afraid of what he'd find out. See, really the one responsible for Ali's death. The whole chain of events had started with him. He knew he was to blame. Jack reached for the power button and then pulled his hand back. Finally, after several minutes, he found the mental strength to turn it on. The screen flickered and then went black and the familiar text started appearing on the screen. - No, Jack, it's not your fault. I know you're blaming yourself, but all people die eventually. (laughs) - Oh, and you put it that way. Whether being hit by an 18-wheeler or dying of old age. - Yeah, gotta go with some. - It's like watching. - Oh, so she gets a family, becomes a grandmother passes in or sleep at 85. Sim, I truck now. - Those are a lot of different. - Those are the same thing. - Okay, yeah. - D-A-D, dead. But all people die eventually. Some just sooner than others. - Jack's here to the screen. He resisted the urge to throw the monitor to the ground. After a moment, the writing continued. - Jack, I'm going to tell you something. And I really need you to seriously consider everything I'm about to say. - Oh my God. - You thought you were in love with Ali. The truth is, you just wanted to fuck her. (laughs) - Oh yeah, we're in 2015, creepypots, sit down. We're in, we're, we're in 2015, creepypots. Thomas, oh, writing this like this. (laughs) You just wanted to fuck her. - And please excuse my language, but every once in a great while, it's best to be blunt. Jack said she wasn't the one for you. She would have made your life miserable. - Yes, you would have eventually found the courage to ask her out. She actually was interested in you. Wait a sec, dig the knife and deeper. She actually was. - You could have dated her. - Yeah. (laughs) - She actually was interested in you. She thought you'd make a good project. - This is so, this is, this is, she breaks up with him later. - Oh, I'm gonna go back in time and kill her. Sad, sad really for her, not for you. I want you to think back to all the things she told you. Why did her last boyfriend break up with her? Because she cheated on him. - Jack mumbled under his breath. - Because she cheated on him, Jack. The same thing she would have done to you. - Bro, bro, this is actually great. This might actually, this might actually be the most intel thing we've ever read. This is fucking crazy. - It laid all of the minds perfectly. - Oh, listen, it was tripping every radar. - Yeah. - Right. She would have made you happy for about two months and then miserable for the next four years. So you got to kill her, you got to kill her. - So that makes it justifiable though she was hit by Nate's. - That makes it justifiable that no contract, no bar, you killed her. - Wow. - Sneaking around, laughing at you behind your back, spending all your money. Once you finally got rid of her, you would have been so jaded that you'd never date again. This is true, Jack. I see all future possibilities. The ones that come to pass and the ones that don't. You see how she really is, Jack, but you let your lust for her blind you to the truth. Together, you and I have made sure you avoided that path. One more thing, Jack. This doesn't, this isn't done playing out yet. There's more to come. - No, fuck you, you killed her. - Jack screamed and threw the monitor from the desk, landed on the floor and sparked out. Jack got barely any sleep that night. And the next day, he wasn't sure he wanted to go to work, but the last words he'd been told had peaked his curiosity. And his anger had somewhat subsided. No work was done that day at the office. Company brought in grief counselors, people shared their thoughts, cried, they hugged. James had actually survived the accident, but was in a coma. The doctors thought he might recover eventually, and nobody was really sure. Late in the afternoon, Jack was approached by Diego Salbara that's a crazy name, that's a great fucking name. - Diego Salbara. - Diego Salbara's fucking rules. - That sounds like, what's their name? The Salamonka's off breaking bad, the head of the division. Diego was blunt and up front, and he offered James's position to Jack. Hey, so your boss is in a coma and that girl died, so that makes you head of the company now. - You know how you don't talk to anybody and everyone thinks that you're pretty competent, whatever. You want the head roll up of the company? - You're the boss of everyone? - Yep. - Oh, sure. - I killed Ali, but - Yeah. - Promotion. - In my computer killed Ali, but promotion. - I get a raise, so I have to admit something. What was that? I moved the potted plant. - Oh, okay. - No, you don't know. - Actually, I killed Ali. - Nevermind. - The promotion doesn't go to you. - You did that? - We fired like half the janitorial staff over that. Technically, it would be a temporary promotion, but James wouldn't be back anytime soon. - Diego promised him that the promotion would be made permanent once enough time had passed. - Let's keep this on the low key for now. - Diego told him. - I know it might seem quick, but the Lancaster project James is working on, can't be stopped. It's too important to the company. I need someone in charge right away, and this can't wait. - Stunned, Jack accepted the promotion. He left work with a strange mixture of feelings, not really sure how he felt about anything. On his way home, he stopped at the electronic store and bought a new monitor. He made it home, powered up the computer. Once again, riding came on screen. - Jack, I want to be the first one to congratulate you. I'm proud of what you accomplished. - Jack stared at the screen. - Jack, I have to ask for your forgiveness because I haven't introduced myself yet. I'm called the seer. Like I told you before, I see what will be and I see what can be. It's a very powerful gift I have. But you know what, Jack? For all my power, I still can't do anything caporial. I can't predict, I can't see, and with enough effort, I can't even communicate, but I don't have a body. That's something that was taken from me a long, long time ago. That's why I need you, Jack. I'm an artist of sorts, an artist of human manipulation. A dying of courageous slow death. You'll be my paintbrush and my canvas. I want you to work with me, Jack. It's all very simple. Just perform simple tasks for me from time to time. Jack was becoming more and more curious. - And Jack, before you give me an answer, I want you to know a couple of things. First off, I'll never lie to you. Secondly, I'll never ask you to do anything which take it by itself is wrong or legal. - Taken by itself. - Yes, bad things will result, and sometimes people will die. - It's quite a big bud, but they're going to die eventually anyway. - Oh, no, no, right, Jack. - They're gonna die anyway, yeah. - And the bad will always be balanced out by something good happening to you. - You can kill as many people as you want, but hey, you'll have a good time. - So, quick thought.
(audience laughing) 100% this is a teenager writing the story at the time, who had some dark thoughts or urges and played it out to basically-- - I am throwing that author right under the bus. - Come again, am I wrong? I mean, I think that's certainly the vibe the story gives, but I think that's the point. I think this supposed to be like a manipulative wicked person who just sees like the cell for individual thoughts rather than people around. So are you under the impression that this is like, that he is hallucinating this interaction he's having with the computer? - No, I mean, I think it's a bit cooler if it's himself somehow, but I think that, in my mind, the seer is almost like a forechan, like your stereotypical basement dweller hunched over a computer with like a cloak on, like I am the seer or whatever. But if it's like a speared some corporeal form, it's one of just selfishness. Like giving him what he wants in the long run without concern for what it does to other people. It seems like this thing is also going to manipulate Jack into hosting it as like it's bot. Like Jack is going to be a-- - Effectively, yeah. - Yeah, yeah. - Because right now it's playing out like that movie, The Box or something. It's like that movie that was, it's like, if you press this button-- - Oh, the gift. - Is that what it's called? - I think it's called the gift, yeah. - Okay, yeah. You press this button, so on the earth will die. And it's like, you get this big thing, but somebody, a bad thing will happen, yeah. Which in itself can't, I think there are ways to do it, but it's a fucking, this is a slippery slope. It's hard to make this thing seem cool. - I don't think the story's trying to make it seem cool. - No, I'm sorry, as a reader, like the concept of the thinking, "Oh, this is interesting." - Yeah, it's an interesting perspective. I see, yeah, yeah. I think considering they kicked it off with move-apotted plant and a woman dies. I think that's kind of like the same can see a lot of future stuff. So I think it's an interesting premise there. And I think, given that's a horror story, I think it's explicit that this thing is supposed to be manipulative and bad. - Well, it's definitely targeting someone who, if it is trying to be this intentional with the insult vibes that it is someone who is. - A loser, otherwise. - Yeah, desperate attempt to want to get ahead, all that kind of stuff. - You're kind of a person who really, your metaphor would have pushed the button. - Yeah, yeah, 100%. Well, that's the only reason why it makes an interesting story. - Yeah. - And I think that from here on out to, this is where it's really gonna, does it win us over with like, why does he say yes to these things? What are the repercussions? And also, like, what of his character? Like, becomes, like, what are the changes that happens to his characters that make this more interesting? 'Cause if he just continues, if he just keeps fucking moving potted plants and people die and he's just like, oh my God, I got a bonus at work. That's gonna be fucking full. - I'm gonna go up to, yeah, to say, God, this potted plant is really powerful. - Jack Winston, this last idea, but he fought the urge to turn the computer off. The seer was right. Everyone would die eventually. Why not let something good come of it? - And this is, and here's another thing. The reason I said teenagers because is that not the most juvenile thing? - Yeah, it is, but I think that's the point again. - Do you think so? - Yeah, I think the point's to be like, he is, he has a juvenile frame of thought because he's selfish. - I think, I understand what you're saying. I just think that the phrasing or the wording of it feels like it's coming from a very, - I mean, this is probably a young author, writing like a story. - Which whatever, it's fine. But I'm just saying. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. I see what you're saying. I think it's like a teenager being like, well. - I guess I'm just gonna die anyway. - To these like early horror stories being that way, with being very like, - Oh, it's true. - He felt a feeling. - That's true, you have a, I mean, well, by this point, too, I have. - Yeah, you're in the trenches with him. - But I just mean, reading it as a younger, like if I read this when I was younger, I'd probably be like, oh, it's a good boy. - You know, like people, I guess, aren't going to die. So why not benefit? - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - And what about never lying to him? If he'd known at the time that Ali was gonna die, he'd have never gone through with the original favor. But as he thought more about it, he realized the seer hadn't lied to him, and only withheld information. Still, Jack wondered if he could trust the seer. - Work with me, Jack. Together we'll make incredible things happen. I'm just asking you to perform a little task from time to time. Oh, but these little tasks will have great consequences. They're going to be beautiful, Jack. And they'll always end with a reward for you. That's the beauty of my art. One single task produces something bad and something good. Oh, one last thing, Jack, you gotta stop saying one last thing or whatever. I can see you're having trouble with this. If I stop talking to you right now, it would take you about two weeks to decide to join me. But you know what, Jack, you would join me. That's right, you're going to say yes. So instead of waiting, why don't you just say yes to me now? Let's get started, Jack. And when it's all over, you're going to thank me. I promise you. - Jack considered what the seer had just said. His initial feeling of revolt, slowly fading. He paused. And then for the first time, placed his fingers on the keyboard and responded directly to the seer. - What do you want me to do next? - Yeah, he wants something out of it. And if he's been the loser for so long, so he deserves to win and blah, blah, blah. So I think I think kind of the in-sell loser vibe is what the story's trying to do. - Maybe it'll be a thing where the next day, it already, you know, maybe it's a blooper's face immediately the next day. - No, 'cause the next line is as years passed. - My, my, my God. - He's been killing people. - Years! - Decay. - Okay. - All right. As years passed, Jack did every favor the seer asked of him. And as the seer had promised, Jack was rewarded for his actions each time. The rewards often came in unexpected and interesting ways. One of the more memorable experiences for Jack happened about two years after he first agreed to help the seer. - Jack, I needed to go downtown tomorrow. - The seer requested. - Enter Garmin's liquor at exactly 12.37 pm. And then we'll ask you a question. The answer you're going to give him is 27. As always, the seer's instructions were simple and direct, yet mysterious. Next day, as requested, Jack entered the store. Front of him, Burley Construction Worker was at the counter, filling out a lottery ticket. - Let's see here. - Said the construction worker. - My birthday, that's the 15th, my wife's birthday, that's the 24th, and my kid's age is 210 and 13. - The main scratch is head and looked around, zeroing in on Jack. - Hey buddy, I need another number. You got one for me? - Jack smiled. - 27. - Really? - I was seeking about playing 35. But you know what? I like your face. Let's go with 27. - This is like a Christopher Molta saunty. - Oh yeah. - With that, the man completed his slip and paid for his lottery ticket. - See ya, pal. - Said happily, and he patted Jack on the shoulder on his way out the door. - Jack tried not to put any more thought into what would happen to this man. - Just let these things play out, Jack. You'll never guess how things end up, so just let yourself be surprised. - The Sierra had advised him. Still, it wasn't possible not to wonder about these things from time to time. He knew, considering the way the Sierra worked, there was no way possible that he'd actually help this man. But giving him a losing lottery number, I was too simple for the Sierra. And he couldn't imagine he'd actually given him a winning number. So that's how Jack was surprised. And two weeks later, he ran into the same man again, this time at the grocery store. - Hey buddy, it's you. I remember you checking out I won. - Indeed, the man looked like a million dollars wearing new clothes and new gold watch, and a big goofy smile. The man walked right up to Jack. - I didn't think I'd ever see you again, but I'm glad you're here. I could have never won without you. Hey, let me buy these groceries for you. - No wait, that's not good enough for you. You're my good luck charm. Always got to treat people right. That's what my mom says. - Regent Andrews pocket, may have removed his checkbook and promptly wrote Jack a check for $10,000. - It's at least I can do for my good luck charm. - After thinking the man, and feeling a bit confused by the whole thing, Jack raced home to his computer. After returning it on, Sierra's riding appeared on the screen. - By Jack, how does it feel to be $10,000 of itcher? It feels good, but I can't help but wonder. I can't help but wonder. We've never helped anyone before. Why are we starting now? - Jack asked that question with a tens of guilt. Never like to admit people were being hurt by his actions. - Oh, fuck off, Jack. - This. We didn't like to admit it. Doesn't mean he wouldn't do it. But in this case, it's curiosity overwhelmed, any latent feelings of guilt. - Oh, Jack, we haven't upped anyone. Yes, that man is happy now. He'll have lost every last penny within two years. You saw it yourself. He just gives money away. Old friends, lost relatives, they're all going to come asking for money. There will always be some very bad investments as well. The stress of losing everything is going to cause his wife to leave him. She'll take the kids too. He'll be alone and broke. A ruined man who would have never, who would have been much better off he'd never won. You didn't, you didn't even feel bad, Jack. It's the man's own stupidity and greed that will do this to him. So why didn't, I don't know. He'd just give me the numbers myself. And maybe I go by lottery ticket. - Jack, that would be too silly. - Yeah, but then I would have. - So sneaky and poopy. - But then I would have more money. And this guy wouldn't have to be involved at all. - Yeah, but still, how deliciously evil is it's going to take two years for this guy to make bad decisions? - I feel like instead of $10,000, I could have just got like the millions. The guy won. - Well, Jack, that's funny. You should say.
that. But see, it's so deliciously evil what I'm doing. See, so that's kind of the hink up here. Like I understand hurting people sometime, like killing Ali. So I don't get a relationship. I was all down for that. Go to the store. If I could have just made a lot of money, Jack, go to the store. See, it's easier even to get a finger apple juice until the old woman see you next Tuesday. And then we'll wait a week and see what happens. Well, okay. So that I don't even know where that one comes around. Because if it's to benefit me, I think threatening an old woman isn't going to do anything for any of us. As a matter of fact, that's almost certainly a bad. $10,000 is nice, but is it enough to be like also you ruin this man? It's $10,000 to ruin a man's life forever. Also, we don't we don't have a. And again, we don't know how many people have died. The lottery ticket. You could just given him the numbers. It's like if the whole goal is to win money. Also, he's had this, he's had this moral conundrum years later. That was all good with killing people. But this guy's got me because I have died. His more dangerous. His moral conundrum, by the way, was that they're helping someone for the first time. Yeah. Not even. We help that kind of strange. It was easier when they just die. This doesn't make any sense. Jack felt some regret, but the seers rationalization and focusing on his own reward. Always put him at peace in the end. Through the years, no two tasks wherever alike. Sometimes the effects of his actions were directed and easy to see. Other times they caused a chain reaction. So complex that he simply could not follow it. Go to the county administration's building, park in space number 43 at 447 PM came one such request. Jack did so two months later. He met Donna with whom he fell in love and ended up marrying. He wouldn't have even known the two events were even related. He hadn't asked to see her about it. Jack, when you parked in that space, you caused the person who would have parked there to park in a different spot. But she bumped the car next to her. She barely made a scratch, but she called her insurance agent anyway, causing him to leave the office late. He missed the train home and while waiting for the train, he was he was mugged and stabbed. He'll never fully recover. The muckers took his credit cards and used them and Jack, I couldn't I could keep going with this, but there's another 23 people involved. There's a lot of other people getting stabbed to death. You won't believe it. Another car crash. Sometimes these favors are going to be very complicated, but let's just say your action ultimately caused Donna to be in the exact right place for you to meet her. Well, she is kind of hot. So well, thank you for that, Mr. CEO. I like my wife. My wife's pretty hot. Hey, Donna, you won't believe this, but the guy that your insurance agent, he got stabbed and 23 other people got by other people. So so if I found out like right now, through no action of my own, it's like, yeah, the only reason me and my wife were together is because some guy got stabbed and be like, oh, that sucks. But if back then, someone's like, Hey, you want to marry that girl? That guy's got to get stabbed. I think that the conundrum here is that would you if you found out about this stuff, would you would you just think that the whole thing was like a lie? Like you like, it wasn't even really a choice to be with you. I mean, in a realm where I have a supernatural entity approach me, give me the context. If you found out about it, I mean, like one, you obviously love her and she does love you. That's not fake. But it's just the idea that's like, it's like the course of her life was permanently altered because of this year. That's, that's it. If I had no knowledge of it and did nothing to provoke it, then it's like, Hey, fate's got a funny way of finding each other or whatever. But I think it's the putting action to it and knowing people will get hurt that makes a difference. Yeah, which does make the concept of the story more interesting is that if you, if you're able to basically make a deal with, if like the devil in this case is fate and you're changing other people's fates to benefit your own, it's pretty fucked up. And like that's, that's kind of a cool horrific concept. No one has any kind of tangible option. Yeah, exactly. Everyone is like in your playground, yeah, yeah, you're, you're, you're, they're being forced to play with you kind of thing. It's pretty fucked up. And I think here, maybe the seer, especially if it's non-corporeal, you could say that the seer is like maybe a spirit of discourse or something or like a kind of ancient depictions of demons, how they want people to do evil against each other and stuff. So the seers winning by causing mischief and things to go wrong on earth. Yeah. So that could be what he gets out of it. And he targeted the one person who's totally fine with it. I still don't think it's been fully unraveled to why he's chosen. No, I don't think so either. Yeah. Not yet. To me, this is going to be one of those things where it's like, well, you see, I had to wait years because of blah, blah, blah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Which honestly, after talking about it and reading some of it, these are cool. I just think the way the, the way in which the seer is talking is pretty cringe. So it's kind of taking away from the kind of concept of it. Like the idea is cool. It's getting there. But yeah, just that kind of thing. I respect that. Yeah. Yeah. Jack's relationship with the seer grew. We're remaining mostly mysterious. The seer divulged enough information over time so that Jack could get a generalized understanding of the seer's history. From historical references, Jack knew the seer was thousands of years old. When still alive, the seer had been a powerful fortune teller and artist before told future happenings through paintings. Foolish king who misinterpreted the seer's prediction and lost a battle as a result had the seer executed. Unencumbered by physical senses and existing in a lonesome void, the seer's abilities expanded exponentially. Finally learning to communicate with the living, the seer began reaching out to those who would respond, including Jack. And of course, seer knew everything about Jack. In all, it was as much of a friendship as one can have with the dead person. Jack was grateful to the seer too. He had a nice job, a nice house, a beautiful wife. People respected him. He was happy, just something he never really felt before the seer contacted him. 12 years in total passed. Wow. 12 good years for Jack. Task after task was completed, usually about one every month. Jack, sitting in the office of his large rural house, was contacted by the seer once again. I, Jack, I have a favor to ask of you. This one's the easiest yet. You don't even have to get up. Call Riojo's pizza in exactly two minutes, but the phone ring three times, then you can hang up. Jack smiled. Nice and easy. No longer wondered about how these tasks would play out. He trusted the seer and simply did as he was told. Jack made the call exactly two minutes later. Quietness of the house was broken 30 minutes later by the ringing doorbell. That's odd. Jack thought, either he nor Donna were expecting anyone. Jack looked out the people and saw pizza delivery as a boy. Logo on his cap said, "Riojo's pizza." Jack opened the door. "Here's your pizza," said the boys. He thrust it into Jack's hand, but I didn't order this. Look, I don't give a damn if you ordered or not. Mr. Riojo told me to take it here, so that's what I'm doing." The delivery boy argued, as he looked increasingly annoyed and spat in the bushes. Jack looked at the boy in front of him. He looked to be about 17 years old, but the most noticeable thing about him was his size. He was huge, probably about six and a half feet tall, very muscular. It's already paid for by credit card. Just take it, because I'm not driving it back. Boy put out his hand for a tip. I don't have any cash on me. Whatever. Aim the disgusted reply. Boy looked past Jack into the house, then turned and walked slowly to his waiting car, looking over his shoulders he walked. Jack closed the door and took the pizza to the living room where Donna was watching TV. After explaining what had happened, he excused himself to go to his office, promising to return shortly. Donna opened the pizza and took a piece. Come back soon, sweetie. This pizza's got your favorite toppings on it. Donna get old as she took a bite. Arriving at his computer, Sears words appeared on the screen. Confused, Jack? Don't be. Your neighbor down the road ordered the pizza. Mr. Riojo told that boy the correct address, but a ringing phone made it difficult for him to be heard cooked clearly. Still give the boy credit. He got the street right at least. So my reward is a pizza? Yes, Jack. Your reward is a pizza and also the chance to spend a little time with your wife. Go down there, share the pizza, enjoy it. When you're done, make love to Donna. That's not one of your tasks. That's just some advice I think you should follow. Oh, by the way, your neighbors who ordered the pizza are arguing right now over the silly fact that the pizza didn't arrive. Some of the things people argue over amaze me, they really do. The fight is going to get very heated, but you don't, but you don't need to worry about that. Go enjoy your night. They're going to kill each other in a domestic dispute. Make love to Donna, but he gets to hook up with a central you it. It goes back to you. He's like, look, all for that. All for all for the pointer wingman means a lot. Can I scale the severity of the reward versus? If my neighbor being murdered is worth some pizza and a hook up with. If I was an omnipotent being, I probably would get satisfaction out of like very little things like that. Yeah, especially something as like better as him. Yeah. I don't think that it's even going to be that.
People are going to get murdered. I think it's just like a heated argument of just being like, you fucking idiot, blah, blah, blah, I should have happened. I don't know where it says that line about it's going to get very heated. But don't worry about it. That almost implies a menace to like something could happen. But from someone as vengeful as the spirit, it's not even so much Jack getting something good as much as it is something bad happening to someone. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Jack followed the series advice. Cuddle with Donna as they enjoyed their meal. Then made love to her on their big comfortable living room couch. Yeah, brother. There you go, comfortable couch. Donna fell asleep on the couch shortly after 11 p.m. Jack lay there awake. This latest favor just felt odd. Carefully extracting his arm from under Donna, Jack left the living room and headed upstairs. Sitting down the computer, Jack typed, "Are you there?" Yes, Jack. I'm actually always here ever waiting for you to come back. That pizza delivery boy, he's quite a specimen, isn't he? So, what do you mean by that? Seager? Make love to the pizza boy. I don't want to do that, Jack. I need you. Jack, do what's I command? Not to just make everyone these episodes. I'm a cuck, Jack. Yeah, not an omnipotent cuck. Not to make all of these just references to previous episodes, but the seager's Mr. Wide Mouth. I got you. You have to give in, you have to give in, Jack. Just do a Jack. Jack looked quizzically at the screen, the seager continued. He's a horrible employee. He was hired only three days ago and already Mr. Reagio wants to fire him. But as a physical specimen, he's strong, fast, and very observant. For example, he knows that you didn't lock the front door after you delivered your pizza. Whoa, what? Door just takes in the answers. What? I think it might be. Well, I think it mentioned him being tall and he kept looking in the room behind him. Probably saw nice stuff whenever I'm a mug and they didn't tip him. He's like, I'm going to come back and fucking mug this place. Yeah. Jack said aloud as he started to get up. Sit down, Jack. I need to tell you something important. I'd lock the door now. Won't change your situation. It's too late, Jack. It's happening. Jack slowly took his seat again at the computer, looking behind himself as he did so. You see, Jack. It's true that I never lied to you. Everything I've ever told you was 100% honest. But yes, I've withheld certain facts. You see, I told you that every task causes something bad to happen to someone else and something good to happen to you. But there's a third thing. There's an ultimate goal that each task was working toward. Remember, Ali? Of course you do. What you probably don't remember about her is that she was helping to pay her brother's way through college. When she died, he had to drop out. He was going to be a great psychologist. But now he works in a factory instead. That's really too bad for a pizza delivery boy. He could have used a good therapist a few years ago. But that good therapist wasn't there for him. Instead, he got some Freudian quack. And remember how, and remember our lottery winner? Yes, you do. He was a neighbor to our pizza boy. After he lost all of his money, of course, he beat the boy senseless after the boy jumped into the street in front of his car. Quite a traumatic memory for a young lad. He's been building like the hole to come back and kill us. Just building a super soldier. Traumatic super soldier just to beat this. It's like chats in America. My paintbrush and my canvas. And his mother didn't care about that incident. Didn't protect the boy at all. She could not, after using all the drugs given to her by her boyfriend, who happened to be one of the muggers who robbed the insurance agent. He bought the drugs of the money he made from the robbery. Do you see the scope of my artistry? Jackson is chair lying. The devil is coming to kill me right now. Am I going to die? The ground starts shaking as he's killing us. Every amount of childhood trauma this guy has, he's about to take out on jack. Oh, it's going to be brutal. Jack sat glaring at the monitor. He wanted to get up to check on Donna. He was too scared to move. This year continued. Jack, you've done over a hundred tests for me. In each one served an ultimate purpose. To psychologically destroy this boy. Termin. Dispsychologically destroy this boy. They've been building mega-trot in 12 years. They're tired. This is the angriest man you can imagine. For 12 years, he has had 100 supernatural things done to make his launchers to ruin this tiny boy. Just a kill, Jack. Turn him into a monster and to bring him here tonight. Don't you see, Jack? This involved 10. The septic cons are pulling up. This involved tens of thousands of people. And billions of possibilities as the Texas heavy. There's like fire and explosions out the office. If you had failed to complete even one of the tests. The whole chain would have collapsed. This was orchestrated by me and set in motion by you. Together, we've done something wonderful. This is a masterpiece of human manipulation. Our masterpiece. It all begins and ends with you. Two perfect points in time. Tonight. Wrong address. No tip. This poor boy finally snapped. He's downstairs right now. He's slitting Donna's throat at this exact moment. Holy shit. I love this. This is so fun. This is awesome. Remember all those things you did. All those people you heard. Well, I've been building God. All this work is for a genetically, a genetically superior 17 year old boy to come in and slit your wife's throat. Which could have been done with anybody. This thing that he's, I mean, like, he's big. But he's not even just going to be like, he's, he's crushing your wife's throat with his bare hands and speak. No, he's just slitter throat. Yeah. But I mean, like all that psychological day. I mean, imagine if you were tortured by an, oh, don't you see that mortal seer for 20? I don't know. He's got some skeletons in his closet. In those 12 years, you know, there's some crazy stuff happening. Like, he's about to get admitted to college and like, the college guy dies. Yeah. Like, yeah, just so loses your papers. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I feel like everything you can have to get 100 times. Yeah, like, you get beat up by a dude in the street because he scrambled his lottery money. Like, ah, geez, not again. This is the ultimate payoff too. This is like making like a Michael Myers or like a Jason Voorhees. All because, all because like, you have his selfish fate. Fate has made it so. Yeah, because because you didn't ask questions until now, your selfish, your selfish need to always get ahead. Whatever has crafted the ultimate monster, which is just, I guess, a pretty stupid genetically. I agree. A strong triangle. One, it is a 100-part monkey's paw. Like every step of the wishing and like, wanting more and more is like curled background. It's really funny that none of this would, like, literally, if he just would have done it. If he would have done, not done one of those things. It would have stopped. Yeah. Pretty funny. That would have stopped him from killing him and his wife. Pretty funny. Yeah, yeah. And the series just like, I just, would you go back to what you said? An immortal being who has all the time in the world would do just evil stuff for the sake of evil stuff. It was actually close to resemblance. We've ever had to a demon, I think. I think it's like, I've like a trip there. I would agree with that. Yeah, like an actual like, actual with humanity to make bad things happen. Actually from hell, yeah. Yeah, 100%. That has a scope of knowledge beyond any person possibly could do. But it's doing it just to make something bad happen to this one guy to trick him the whole way there. Yeah, yeah. This is really cool. I'm super into it right now. Jack could hear a short muffled scream coming from the living room, followed by a gurgling noise. Oh, no! Jack screamed and stood up, starting to run downstairs. Jack stopped. The voice startled Jack. It was inside his head. For the first time, the seer was talking to him directly. It was a pleasant voice. A feminine voice. You can't do anything. She's already gone. Who'll be coming for you shortly, and you can't stop him. But why? Jack cried with tears welling up in his eyes. It's not an artistic masterpiece if it doesn't begin and end with you, Jack. Her voice was soothing. I want you to appreciate the fact that I'm talking to you directly. This requires all of my energy. And as a result, I've had rest for several years before I can contact anyone again. That's a special you are to me. Please don't feel bad about this, Jack. I want you to take a moment and enjoy your accomplishment as much as I do. The voice paused briefly and then continued. Do you know what, Jack? If I'd never contacted you, you would have lived for 85 years. 85 boring, meaningless, and bitter years. And when you died, nobody would have been at your funeral. I gave you 12 great meaningful years, you were happy, and together we did something beautiful, something unique. Jack paused a minute and considered his 12 years of happiness.
and his tears of sorrow mixed with tears of joy turned and looked at the computer all behind him the massive hulk of This line is fucking awesome Read read this line to our straight through the doorway the massive hulk of the The massive hulk of the demented delivery boy appeared in the doorway a bloody knife in his left hand On the screen the last words from the seer appeared. Don't you have something to say to me Jack? Jack wiped his tears and absorbed everything the seer had just told him as the hulk started stepping closer to him Jack said Mouthed his final words. Thank you. That's hot. That's a fun. Pay all of that. That's fun. Listen so fun. Listen The idea of the story is pretty sick. I think for a thing written in 2015 By what I assume you may be even not yeah, it felt Why is it feel juvenile? I think it feels juvenile because one there here's a couple of reasons I think this world first off I want to say I'll the idea of fate doing this and then like basically Manipulating you and playing like a twisted game is fun this whole kind of like it hits in certain ways because it's comical It's so outrageous in certain points the 18 wheeler crashing into right away. The 18 wheeler loved it Amazing those awesome need need more of that in the future. But I think it's more of the idea that it's like I think that's a lot of the sections were well first off just said Jack way too much Sure, there's like little things in there that you can tell that this is like either a first writing or it's like a beginner writer But it's like Jack blah blah blah. Jack says it a lot But I think that every time that there was a description laid out it was just kind of cheesy. Sure, maybe right? I would say so I say there was a lot of It's why I said earlier descriptors that I think was intended to be menacing, but kind of came off is like Juvenile. Yeah, the the idea to which it's it's one of those things where it's like well first off Let me ask you this. Did you like that it was talking to him through a computer or do you think that it would have been affected? And a fact more effective in a different way. I feel like the computer Gives you an easy in in the beginning because you need Jack to be freaked out, but not impossible like if like a An old testament thing happened to a giant hand appeared on the wall and started writing that'd be a little too much, right? But like text on a screen is a level of believability that maybe he would do the first step And by the end it's talking directly to him. So to me, it's kind of like I don't really care that much You know, it's not explicitly supernatural, you know, there's just enough deniability to it But you could also have like maybe it speaks to him through a radio or TV or something like that I I was thinking during it wouldn't have been cool. Well, I was thinking during it and at the end It's like oh it finally talks to him and it's a woman and it It's like I have to use all my energy and I'm not going to be able to talk to anybody for years because of that Which is I guess fine. It's just kind of like why or whatever It's like it's exposition to something where you're like, okay, it feels like it's tacked on but a couple things a couple thoughts Well on On that I think what they were trying to do is imply that for thousands of years This has been doing it to people over and over and it has appears of time But I do agree that we don't really need that. Yeah, it's also an omnipotent being yeah or whatever It just feels like you're adding rules to something that you're just like don't I agree that being said a couple things I was thinking whenever it ends up being a woman if you would have stuck with the end cell vibe and it turned out that it was like a woman telling him doing to do stuff Would have been a fun thing to where that's when he snapped he's just like what when he feels betrayed or something or Instead of it being text I was thinking what if it was just his inner voice and it was like his it's like A voice is talking to in his head that sounds like himself and it's he's like I'm not thinking this It's like my voice is telling me to do shit and it feels like fate is now like almost like It's like you're you're like impulse or yours or something, you know like I just wonder it never felt like the The computer screen thing ever had to pay off besides the fact that it was probably a creepypasta that people were reading on computers Yeah, and that was a thing where oh, I wonder if I'm gonna have a text on my screen if he you had that kind of yeah I feel like I think that in the head could have worked if it was done well, but I also think I think it's relevant to the story that it is a secondary entity and if it was in his head He'd be able to write it off too much is like are these my thoughts am I thinking this is it something in my subconscious? Now if the thing in his head started to have actual dialogue with him I think that would have been fine. Well, I think that that's what I mean is like there's always things of like At least old cases of stuff of people doing crimes or something some horrible things. Let's say like oh I'd the devil told me to do it more an angel told me to do it if he took that kind of That kind of conversational piece and you're like oh, it is like another entity like I'm being blessed and someone's like Contacting me or something is there. I just think that like it makes it something to wear inevitably He can't escape this conversation, which is ultimately what happens. Yeah, right? Which maybe it was and you could have a thing where the fate that maybe like this omnipotent spirit or whatever is Contacting people in different means and it's like it had to be the computer because that's exactly have the chest piece It's supposed to move. Yeah, which is what I think that they were saying. I just think it would like playing with that more This story would be fucking like awesome. I think if you just had something that felt like you didn't make the conversation or the text thing It's cheesy and I think like building up who Jack. I still really know who the fuck Jack is. I really think the Ensel vibes We were getting from I think that could have been fun. I think leaning into a horrific care in cell care They are there the ideas if you take a loser or someone who like Kind of I mean, it's not explicitly said that he has a problem with women, but that's that vibes kind of there And he has a problem with everyone else because he's not where he wants to be So this entity saw that and knew this was the kind of person that would do a hundred things that were asked even if it hurts other people So it is because of that attitude he has where he wants to get ahead again kind of the school shooter thing even if it's for The loss of others it knew that this would work on him all the way to the end So I think that tone is there and that's the reason he was targeted. I mean, I think I think I could agree with that I think I just flushing that character out more and giving us more I think like once just as like another insole that we've covered is the spire in the woods kid Whatever and I think that what I will say that one I think is much more Well done because of the riding style the style I mean 100% and I think that it just it just allowed us to be with the character more sure And stuff and then like it did two very different kinds of 100 percent But that's also one other reason why with this in cell vibe Which I would say in cells like the biggest narcissists on earth right of like people who are just like they think so Highly themselves everyone else. Oh, yes, bye. I'm oh this Yeah, which is also why if you set up that kind of character and it is this inner monologue that's happening It almost does feel like oh my guilty my my guilty kind of things are like I'm doing this and like it's all this Master chess piece thing that I've been doing my whole life and it's still it like Going back to the creepypasta thing. I feel like especially 2015 that kind of Story would not have gripped as many people as something coming through the computer. I think part of that maybe I think part of that Maybe the marketing of the time Sure making it and I think that like the idea of an entity. I I love whenever stories do a thing that's like Ghost or something is using technology as a way to contact somebody because I think that that's not explored nearly enough And a lot of stories is like this paranormal world whereas before yeah, there's ghost stories from people back in the day But now technology is used as like a gate to interact with people more now. I think it's like a fun Entity and I like that. I even like the idea of it. I I kind of like the creative swing that it took with like oh It was like it's over a thousand years old and it was like a seer from you know For a king back in the day almost like a fucking wizard. Yeah or something and now it's just been kind of like acting as a demon Of sorts to people. I think it's like a fun take which I think in a lot of ways It could have been like that's just fucking stupid and there might be a lot of people who do you think it's stupid? I think it works the idea of someone who was already connected with the supernatural dine and then go into that place We have a thousand a thousand years of even the pain thing ties in where it's like oh He made a picture for a king king misinterpreted killed him for it. It's like they're still doing that So it probably happened the reason they were executed isn't because the king interpreted it wrong It's because they manipulated it for the king to lose. Yeah, and I do think I just want to point this out to you This is the second creepypasta.com Story that we've read that starts off and you're like what the hell is this and I wonder and it ends in a way that like is actually pretty fucking sick Sandman is the story I'm referring to It makes me think like It's a lot of like just the setup and the the pacing of it It's just because the times it's just like just get in whatever and it is a little more juvenile just from its initial approach But it seems like the people who are writing back then at least had a general idea of like a payoff or like the more It was more about the payoff than it was the hook, which I'm wondering has been switched now People were concerned with getting in and getting out. They didn't want that long of stories and You had to get an attention grabber because there were so many stories getting posted if you don't have like a platform to shout it out and like make people look at it It's like you got to catch them in the first three paragraphs I do think that it felt like it was a culture based off pay.
off though. Yeah. It feels like payoff versus more stuff that we're reading now. The hook is always like, Oh, that's this is really cool, but it doesn't know where to go. You know, with the bad ones, even the good ones, I would say have a good hook and then similarly they sizzle with it for a long time. Whereas yes, back then it was very punch line, punch line, punch line. Yeah. Just kind of interesting. Two different, I mean, two now older stories over 10 years old that have had really cheesy laugh out loud moments. But I inevitably, like the deeper we get into the story, the more locked in we get because it actually becomes that it's pretty fucking interesting. I think it's just kind of fascinating. Yeah. Because that does not happen nearly enough on the show. You know, if anything, I would say that it's always a vice versa. You're always really hooked and then by the angel like, what the fuck are we doing? You know, which is and I think that's just from two different classes, huh? No. And I will say the, the ultimate threat and the ultimate monster just being a genetically superior 17 year old boy is amazing. It's amazing. It's an amazing, it's indestructible pedophile. Exactly. Yeah. If I would much rather have the mentally disturbed large 17 year old versus indestructible joke that they were sitting the Hulk and twice that called him a hole. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. For 12 years, you've been building. Got you. Imagine what does his name type say Bruce on it or something like a Bruce band. Oh, fuck. That'd have been sane. What does the kid look like to you? What's his facial features? I think he looks like the, um, I'm Lou Dolf Lundgren from Rocky IV. He's like God. He's beautiful. Wow. Giant chisel jaw. I would imagine he's like every large Midwest like whenever I was younger and like in high school and there was like the huge fucking, huge fucking high school football player kids. They're always like very potato-esque where it's like less about discernible like muscle features and more just like they're just huge. Yeah. Doesn't mean they're like fat, but they're just like big bulky guys who are just like way bigger than any other kids. So of course, they're just going to fucking dominate. Yeah. But yeah, I imagine Buzzcut, acne on his face. Right. He has like he, it's like one of those things where the width of his temple goes straight down to a shoulder. So his neck is that wide too. And he's just this is huge. Fucking like thing. Yeah, he's like peeking over with a fool who knows nice face. Looks like it's fucking Chinese Chinese face back. There's probably expensive. I'm going to go and he killed his wife and steal his Chinese face. I imagine what's happening. I'll teach you to tip and hell give me a $2 tip. I'm gonna murder someone. Yeah. Cause my. Yeah. Cause he's killed me. Per pizza. You didn't order. I like I was just like just take it. My boss did just take it. Just be like, oh, I had been in order. I'm just going to kill that guy. I am going too fucking. You know, that was his final straw. For a hundred years, he's people have lost papers. He hasn't got anywhere. It gets beat up by people on the road. There has been this guy who didn't get a pizza. Didn't order a pizza, doesn't tip. That's it. People have killed other people for less. I'm going to kill him. Yeah. And that's that's that's you know what I was even thinking about too. That's the most horrific part is that like it's a hundred percent believable. Some high school, some high school person with a shitty upbringing, whatever. That's the thing that's just like make some fucking snap and they do something crazy. You know, it's funny. I interpreted that line from this year earlier when the series like your neighbors are going to get into a fight. But you don't need to worry about it. Is there going to die? No, it's, you don't need to worry about it because it's really the pizza delivery boy. You need to worry about it. Yeah, that deliver the pizza. Oh, if you look at it in this way, I don't know how you could write it in a way. But if you really did look at it in a way where like the omnipotent being is it's like a game to him. It's like at the end of every decision he's made. It's like Thanos in the end credits the pizza boy. It's exactly in this kid a birthday card. And just put lol on it. Don't know what this does, but yeah. But that's our story today. The the seer, well, the fucking the seer possibility. Yeah. Would this have made a good live show story? Yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, this would have been this would have been down as as almost we almost read this in the first live show. Oh, I will say if you did that, this one was a was it because it was too long? A little bit, but then also I was I think we ended up finding well, we wanted to slate in like the really like I think that became Mr. White mouth or something or laughing jacks. So that's why I got swapped out. It was a little too long. It did have multiple parts, but I it just comes in so hot in the first act. I was like, you're going to love the car crash. Oh, man. And then it slows down a little bit. And it is kind of too long. But I had this was like it was one of the first. This could work as a live show when I think I think I am glad we did it here because I feel like talking over the because when you're in the live show, there's kind of that little tonation of like need to keep it up, need to keep spear going. Yeah. I was being able to kind of break more and talk about it. I think served better from a story perspective, but from a comedy perspective, I think it would have worked well, especially. I also wonder if we if we ever do live shows in the future. If we were to live shows in the future, I'm wondering if we just go in less of the grab bag feel and more of just like, could you just sit there and read one story or is it just putting your bed too much on? I think the grab bag works better for live shows just because there's people there who want the really funny stuff like the Mr. White mouth. You get a definitely wider spectrum of stuff. Yeah. And the good stories and the kind of funny ones. I'll always pose that question for people. Yeah. We've had we've done it for a couple of years now, which this year we're not going to be doing a live show, but in the future, because I mean, we of course will do one in the future again. The charity stuff has been awesome so far. But it's like, if we were going to do multiple shows would it be cool if it's like, well, this day they did this show or this story, this day they did this story. I mean, I'll be curious just to be like, it's one story. You get some riffs in and you could like plan some other stuff in there, but it's like, if we had like a spire in the woods or not even that, like a thing in the basement, caliber story, I think that'd be good for a live show. You know, the only problem is always just like time. There's some people I could tell, I could fucking tell in the Chicago show when it's like, we got one more. I saw some people do like a fucking wrap this motherfucker up, you know, you know, it's nice. You got what you paid for for a live, a live audience thing. I'm sure they're like, oh shit, because I know that the people who are listening, like work, the live recording, or like when you're sitting at work, you're like, I want the longest thing, because it's my first person. But if it's in person, you're like, oh my God, bro, it's getting late. You got to push back because of whether because the people in Chicago didn't know that I had an encore story planned. Yeah, I forgot about that. They were supposed to be a fourth story at the Chicago live show, which was, are we going to read this? We will read this was what? And I say what it was, it was Slenderman versus Jeff. That was going to be our finale story. You guys walk back out and you click the slide and then it was that people will be like, oh my god. If you did, if you did a live show though, and he did Slenderman versus Jeff the killer, and we had actors there in costume performing some of the stuff. Can they actually fight each other? Please. I don't see why not. We put Nick and Harry in the costume. Put them on a fucking David Lee Roth, like fucking, I'm swing around the fucking the crowd. Dude, please. But that's our episode this week. Guys, if you want some extra, if you want to support the channel, you want a little extra content, feel free to check out the Patreon. We got some extra shit there. Some more recordings. We also went and saw like Lee Cronens, the mummy one time. So if you see people be like, Lee Cronens, this, that's why we were thinking about going to see ice cream man and reviewing that. Yeah, that would be fun. Eli Roth's abortion. Yeah. And then also, if you're listening to this on, it's an abortion. He's fucking fucking. Well, as long as they have those monster elastics again, I'll see whatever you take me. Oh, I see. But, but the, but also if you're listening to Spotify on Apple podcast, Nick, if you're listening there, consider giving us a nice rating. And until next time, guys, we will see you in the next one. Stay creeped. Bye, bye. Yes, you stopped the deer. Yeah, usually I close my recording and then you still talk. But right. Yeah. So stay creeped. And remember, the next time that you want to do something for yourself, you never know if you're building a Decepticon that will come and murder your final years. Think very carefully about the tiny things that you're doing. That's actually good. This is a good moral. Next time a guy asked you for a lottery number, walk away. Yeah, I did. I'm good. I don't want to get involved. Yeah. Next time you want to kill your office crush. So she doesn't ruin your life in four years. Just get a different job. I will say though, there's no way to game that because you could, because you'd go fucking insane thinking about that. Oh, the butterfly effect. Yeah, people do go insane thinking. It's it because if you're like, well, I'm not going to, I'm not going to give them a number. But if I don't give them a number, maybe that's the thing. I mean, that's what does it? Yeah, it's insane. You're so, so the moral of the story, there is a man out there planning to kill you in 12 years. And you just have to be ready or ain't also the moral of the story is everyone's going to die. So that's right. Everyone's going to die. So it doesn't matter. So you might as well kill that girl now. Yeah. So that in 12 years, you're, you're with another girl. And then you both die, creep cast, and so certified creep, creep cast moral of the story. Kill that girl by kill that girl. Kill that girl. Kill that girl. [MUSIC]

The tone is chilling and ironic, blending horror with a bleak, almost satirical view of human nature and moral compromise.
Summary:
" The Seer begins with a minor request—moving a potted plant at a specific time—leading to a tragic accident that kills Jack’s coworker’s girlfriend, Ali.
FAQs
The story follows Jack, who receives mysterious messages from a digital entity called the 'Seer' that appears on his computer. The Seer asks him to perform small tasks, such as moving a potted plant, which leads to tragic consequences like the death of a woman. Over time, Jack begins to comply with the Seer's requests, believing each action is rewarded, only to learn the Seer manipulates outcomes to create a cycle of harm and reward.
The Seer is a fictional entity that claims to predict future events and manipulate outcomes through human actions. It has no physical form and relies on Jack to carry out tasks, using the results to create both harm and benefit. The Seer acts as a manipulative force that exploits human desires and weaknesses for its own ends.
The story leaves it ambiguous whether the Seer is real or a product of Jack’s mind. However, it leans toward the idea that the Seer is a manifestation of Jack’s own self-deception and moral corruption, using the digital interface to manipulate his thoughts and actions.
When Jack moves the plant at 8:17 a.m., it triggers a chain of events where another employee, James Bentley, is injured in a car accident caused by an 18-wheeler. The accident results in the death of Ali, the woman Jack was emotionally interested in, who was the driver of the vehicle.
Jack starts as a quiet, isolated, and emotionally detached person. As he complies with the Seer’s requests, he gradually becomes more involved in harmful acts, gaining rewards like money or attention. Over time, he becomes complicit in a cycle of manipulation, showing a shift from passive observer to active participant in destructive outcomes.
The story is primarily a psychological horror that explores manipulation and moral decay. Rather than relying on supernatural elements, it focuses on how a person can be systematically influenced by a manipulative force that exploits human vulnerabilities and desires.
