I couldn’t believe this..

I don't know what I got, but I feel a little fatigued and there's like a tingle in my throat. And yet, I've got to bring you the good news. And then when I take a nap, might be an extended nap. Might just be going to bed. But we've got some really good news coming up. We have some clips from Mayor Mamdani, who is again, showing what politicians look like when they do good things. And they listen. We have some animal videos of, I think they're beagles who have never seen the grass before. They're a rescued. And you get to see them touch grass for the first time. Would be nice if some humans would touch grass. Are we known then? And we got this. This is maybe good news for me. I don't know if you're gonna care, but I made a video about Rosie O'Donnell's coming back and how much I appreciated it. And wouldn't you know it, why the second? Who the hell is that? All right, now we are moving on to some actual good news. Angie Nixon, now if you were alive with us, you would know Angie Nixon, one out of, like no one was expecting this. She won her primary in Florida. She is now the Democratic nominee for Senate out of Florida. And she is giving me a lot of hope because she is a member of the DSA, but she's not letting the insanity of the National DSA platform weigh her down. All these reporters are trying to trip her up. This woman is on Beast Mode, Beast Mode. Watch Angie Nixon, show 'em how it's done. I'm so in to this candidate. I'm just, I don't listen. Listen, I don't want to stand politicians, but I really like Angie Nixon. Here's why. - I don't care, right? I don't understand what is wrong with me not wanting people to go bankrupt. If they go to the doctor, there are literally people who are dying because health insurance companies want to deny their claims. They want to deny them life-saving health care. Like, that is wrong. Do we not see anything wrong with these companies? But, boy, they're only doing this because they want to make a profit. - Why join the DSA if you disagree with various parts of their platform? Does it not just become a distraction from your own campaign and your own agenda? - You all are the only ones that are distracted. I'm actually going out talking to voters about the things that matter to them. And so we should make sure that we're pivoting to the right conversations. The fact remains that there are people who are dying because they don't have access to quality health care. Meanwhile, Ashley Moody voted to end the ACA subsidies. As I stated, nearly 300,000 people fell off the Affordable Care Act roles. There are people who are dying because they don't have access to health care. Also, the fact that Ashley Moody is corrupt, right? She's corrupt. She allowed $10 million that was supposed to go towards the most medically needy kids to be diverted because they wanted to defeat two citizen-led ballot initiatives. The status quo is broken. People are losing their minds right now and taking their lives and even taking their children's lives. And the people at the top want to stoke division and want to push this hateful rhetoric. At the end of the day, I have always been about the people of Florida, which is why my campaign is Angie for Florida. I want people to no longer just survive. They deserve to thrive and flourish. I love this. I love it. Now, listen, I'm a member of the DSA. And I disagree with many parts of the platform. And there's such a big difference between what happens in local chapters and what the national organization has decided is the things that they're working towards. But really, the local chapters are about getting people into office who are pro-worker, pro-union, who are anti-corporation, who want to get money on a politics, who want to make health care accessible to everyone. I don't understand why they don't understand that just because you're a member of an organization doesn't mean to agree with everything. I've been a member of the DSA. I've been a member of Democratic clubs. And I didn't agree everything happened in the Democratic clubs either. Do you think I agree with every person that Democratic club I was a member of endorsed? Of course not. But you're a member because you're trying to work towards something together with people who are like-minded. And I personally find the DSA is aligned with more things than I'm aligned with than a local Democratic club that I used to be a member of. And they actually do real activism and real community work that I think is important. So I just don't understand why reporters can't understand that. You can do both. You can disagree with something. But still feel like there's a lot of good that the local chapters do. There was the, all right, this is cute. There was the 50th annual World's Ugliest Dog Contest in Sonoma County Fair, California. And it went to a pug who apparently is the ugliest dog there in $15,000. We are at the World's Ugliest Dog Contest and Otto won third place. I don't know if you'll help us. Oh, he's exhausted. So he doesn't care at this point. We've had Otto since he was just a teeny tiny puppy. He came in to rescue at 10 days old. [INAUDIBLE] He's going to pay for the trip. It is 150 rescued beagles who had never touched grass before or fresh air in their lives and here they are doing just that You'd expect a Lot of working a lot of crying a lot of jumping up and down and instead it is a bus full of dogs who are paralyzed This bus here is heading in to Get the last remaining 150 or so beagles. He's hands on inside that reading facility And arms the Beagles came from Ridgeland Farms a controversial biomedical research and breeding facility in Wisconsin You might have seen videos earlier this year of protesters trying to break into the facilities to save the beagles Close to 2,000 or so dogs have already been rescued These are the last 150 remaining and they're being taken to big dog ranch rescue in Florida about 1,500 miles away But first a quick stop just outside the facility where they were held where they're going to be checked out by a vet and that's where this bus is headed now comes next is Freedom for the very first time Underneath their boss They don't know what a breeze of wind feels like or what fresh air tastes like Furious It's hard not to be moved by overseeing here so many people have turned up to receive these animals I love the experience fear for the very time of lives Touching and feeling grass for the very first time These guys Um puppies being puppies And then others We're huddles. Oh my god, I want one. I think fear We have no idea what they endure inside reading facilities inside labs But their reactions It's all the story. Oh my god. This is what I love news Friday people doing Good things good things are still happening and I'm yeah, that's a handsome man too, by the way All right, and then one more we have a woman who donated a million dollars to local teachers to fix things Cron Forza and Kerman reports It began as a mystery Thursday afternoon the Ross Valley school districts 100 teachers were told to gather at district headquarters But they didn't know why then the superintendent had each principal give every teacher an envelope But teachers were told not to open them until they heard from this woman The injustice of this tiny little enclave within Morin County that is not being treated equally that injustice Morin County resident Maya Kristen is talking about is the fact that last year funding for this school district was in the bottom 4% state wide and Teachers were the lowest paid in Morin County citizens we can write direct checks teachers were then told to open their envelopes No, each found a check from Kristen in the amount of 9,161 dollars and 70 cents Miles were wide open before teachers broke out in a cheer I mean, it's life-changing. I couldn't be more grateful. This feels great to have people right here in the community wanting to support Public education and public educators I don't think I've ever experienced such a Beautiful gifts from someone I don't even know or haven't taught their kid I have three kids and there's lots of activities that they want to do that We can't always afford to pay for because of my salary and it's with this kind of money Like there's a few things I can actually say yes to that. They want to do so. It's it's just really exciting and Huge for our family district officials say while this is an affluent area the district still receives little funding The property values are really high in our in our districts But the property the assessed values really low because people move here and they stay here So prop 13 is kept our tax base quite low compared to other Marin districts teachers lined up to thank Kristen for her $1 million dollar personal donation She hopes other long-time Marin County residents will do the same My hope was in folks like you would be here and Word would get out and Marin residents who you know value public education with step forward and one way or another whether it's a direct gift or Political act or a foundation pull or something at the Ross Valley school district and Kerman Kron. That's amazing Wow, maybe a little cheer. I'd incredible Incredible. Why isn't that happen all I does that happen all the time? We just don't know about it We're hearing about it now. I'm so glad we had we're doing this because that absolutely needs to be seen by as many people as possible I'm just gonna say this. I'm glad she's doing it and I'm glad she's stepping up But we shouldn't have to do that like we pay enough money in taxes I trust me. We pay so much money in taxes. We should pay teachers more That's just the basic of it We do not value education in this country the way that we should education is so important It's critical if not for public education. I would not be here and the fact that we pay teachers so little We pay so much for other like flat cameras and like in bombs, right? Budgets are a moral document and obviously the morals of our country in the wrong place But it's so nice like that that has instilled a little seat of hope in me I hope it's planted in you as well and god damn it.
