How To Reset Your Energy, Feel More Confident & Finally Start Acting Like Your Best Self w/ Mimi Bouchard

Mimi Bouchard, founder of the activations app, shares a powerful self-development framework centered on becoming your future self today. She explains that this future self—your best, most authentic self—is already within you and can be accessed through clarity and daily practice. The process starts with clearly imagining how your ideal self feels in the body and then consistently embodying that identity in everyday moments like walking, cooking, or waking up early. This practice, rooted in neuroscience and classical conditioning, reprograms the brain by pairing positive beliefs with routine activities, leading to lasting shifts in mindset and behavior. Mimi emphasizes that transformation doesn't require complex effort—it's about small, intentional choices that align with your true potential. She introduces the mantra “Be her now” as a tool to replace self-doubt with confidence, showing how daily habits can build neural pathways that foster aliveness, clarity, and self-love. The episode highlights that personal growth is not about becoming someone new, but about reclaiming and expressing your authentic self. It also promotes the app's 14-day free trial and includes wellness product endorsements, such as function, element, and BetterHelp. Ultimately, the message is clear: by tuning into your inner voice and living as your best self in real time, you unlock a life of joy, purpose, and energy.

But without further ado, let's get started and welcome Mimi Bouchard to RealPod. Mimi, welcome to RealPod. Hi, Victoria. Thanks for having me. I'm so happy to have you. I wanted to ask, did you do an activation this morning? Like, what did you need this morning? I've done like four. Tell me about it. I've done four. No, honestly, I've before I record, I always feel like to be my best self. This is like the tool in my toolbox. So I was listening to one in the Uber here. I was listening to one while I was waiting because I was so early. Which one? I have it. I have a new hyper fixation one. And I go through these phases, even though we've released like five new ones a week. I am just hyper fixated. And then I get tired of it and I move on to the next. So the one that I'm obsessed with right now is called energetic reset to feel alive and manifest with ease. That one, the music in it changes me. The words in it changes me. I literally feel like a different human being. It's like having like two shots of espresso and like, it's that feeling you get when you just feel so alive. Like, you know, that feeling when you're in the back of the car and the windows open and this like nostalgic song is playing and you just kind of feel like the main character and you're like, life is good. You know, that's the feeling it gives me. So I've been doing a lot. I need to try this one. It's so good. What I love so much about activations and what you've built and what you do is it's all about building up our internal belief system in ourself. And just from being a collegiate athlete, so much of that was just. A vital to my performance. Like you can't be thinking I'm going to make a mistake. No, I'm not good enough to be here. Like that just opens the floodgates for anxiety. And one of my favorite sports psychologists, Dr. Michael Gervais says confidence comes from inner dialogue. He's very like period. Like that's it. Of course, if you've done it before and you've succeeded, that's helpful. But why is it helpful? Because you tell yourself I've done this before and I succeeded. So it all comes back to. Inner dialogue. And I think it's awesome that you're helping people believe in themselves. This product that I've developed just helps people become the truest versions of themselves. It just reminds them. And it's all about remembering who you really are deep in the core. I always say that this work of self-development, personal development, whatever you want to call it, it's more about unbecoming what you're not than it is about becoming something you've never been. I really feel like, you know, when we're children, we. Have so much about the world. We look around. There's possibility everywhere. That childlike spirit is what has come out of me since I've been doing the work and I feel more me than ever before. So I really am a big believer that when I talk about how you can transform into your future self, how you can become your best self, all of that is really just coming home to yourself. I don't know why I just have this thought where we're getting near the holidays, but like buddy, the elf, I mean, you know, the movie, right? I, yeah, I don't understand. Wait, elf Will Ferrell? Oh, elf. Yeah. Yeah. No, one of my favorite movies ever, but he is an adult who has like a childlike personality and it, so many people love it because you get to an age where it's not cool to dance hard at a party when you're not a dancer. Like as you become an adult, you're almost told if you're not good at something, not to do it. And then that keeps us from trying new things, doing new things. I had a thought of wanting to go to dance class just because I felt like it could connect me to. Yeah, I love that. Yeah. My body more. Yes. But of course I haven't like looked up a class and booked it. You know what? You could even just do it at home. It's such a vibe. Think about it like a dial when you are doing things that uplift your energy. It's literally like, you know, dialing up your frequency and your energy. I also love to dance at home alone with no one watching. Like the music that gets me going is oldie music, like from early 2000s, like the cringiest type of music. I love that oldie music is early 2000s. I know. You were going to send me farther. No. Well, now it is 2025. Yeah. It's crazy. But music from 25 years ago is what gets me going. No, that's so true. I know. So yeah, it's just anything that makes you feel alive is what we should lean into more, right? Like we live a life where we're distracted all the time. We're numb all the time. All these things make us numb, like social media, mindless scrolling, so much Netflix and, you know, mindlessness and distraction everywhere. And what truly makes you feel better in your life is to lean into the things that make you feel alive. Numbness is the opposite of feeling alive. Aliveness is that feeling you get when you're present with someone, you're having a beautiful, deep conversation. It's that feeling you get when you're journaling and you're thinking about your future and you're inspired and you're excited. It's the feeling you get, you know, when you're listening to a walking activation in the morning and you listen to the cinematic music and guided visualization, it's that feeling you get when you're in the moment. You're in nature and you're walking and you're connected and you're inspired. And when you feel more alive and you do activities that trigger aliveness inside of you, time goes by slowly. You're actually soaking up life more, but when you're doing things that numb you too much, like over drinking any drugs, over binging on Netflix, mindless doom scrolling, whatever it is that numbs you, that makes time go very quickly. That makes you feel the opposite. That makes you feel the opposite of alive. And I don't know about you, but I want to feel more alive. Life is too short to be numb. I definitely do. And it's honestly sad to think on the moments I felt alive recently and have them stand out as these very singular, random moments. The first thing I think about when you describe that is I ran into Emmanuel Acho recently. He's been on the podcast. He's awesome. And we were at the same event and we got to talking and like, it was one of those conversations where I pulled up my phone to take notes because I was like, wait, wait, I need to write this down. Or I need to call this person or do this thing that you said. And I left like buzzing, buzzing. And I'm like, I want to be around more people that make me feel that way because it brings out the best version of me. But it's so hard because sometimes the things that make us feel alive, we can't necessarily do every day. So how do you recommend people identify what makes them feel alive and then incorporate that more into their everyday life? I would disagree. I think we can absolutely do things that make us feel alive every day. I think that you should just lean into what makes you feel alive. Every day there, it's those little moments. You don't need to carve out time to feel alive. It's that song that gives you goosebumps. It's this moment where you are spending time with yourself, distraction free. It doesn't have to be this big, complicated thing. It really is just setting up your day to prioritize the things that make you feel good. And I really like to simplify transformation. I think it's very overcomplicated. A lot of people think it's this big thing that you just do one day. And it's hard. and it's intense and complicated, but really it starts in the small moments. You don't need to wait until you're ready for this big transformation. No, transformation happens in whatever area of your life that you want to improve. It happens in the very small moments. It happens when you choose to just feel like your future self when you're in line at the grocery store. It happens when you choose to wake up 15 minutes earlier so you can just have a minute before you start your crazy day. When you choose to turn your phone on airplane mode at 9 p.m. before bed and you don't scroll until you go to sleep, like it's those little choices. I love that you disagree and I want to get into it and get more nitty gritty because I feel alive having a conversation with someone like that more than I feel alive. Like this morning, I took a phone-less walk to grab my coffee and I love that I did that. I was like, I'm gonna leave my phone behind, just gonna think, try to be present. And I felt alive. But I didn't feel like, I guess, inspired by that moment with myself. No, I get that. So that's kind of why I started creating activations back in the day for myself. It was a need that I had. I never thought that I'd share these with the world, but it was because I craved a stimuli, something external that would force me into aliveness. So can you take me back to your rock bottom or the place that probably was the catalyst for all of this, right? Yeah, for sure. So better. Let's go. So seven years ago, I was in a very dark place and every single category of my life was lacking. In my book, Activate Your Future Self, I talk about the five pillars that make up your life. And that is mental, physical, financial, social, and spiritual. Those are the five pillars. I looked at all of my pillars and I was lacking in every department. I did not feel good about myself. My confidence was so low. I was living paycheck to paycheck. I wasn't in any relationship that I felt good in. I just felt, I felt lacking in myself, my health. Everything was not positive, to be honest with you. And with that rock bottom came this little tiny voice in my soul that I somehow chose to listen to, even though it was so quiet. And that little voice said, I think you might be, you know, meant for more, Mimi. And I think all of us have that little voice inside of us. I'm not special. I just listened to that little whisper and I kept listening to it. And I thought, okay, you know what? I can create a different life for myself. I don't want to be a loser. I don't want to be going down this road for the rest of eternity here. So that's how I got into personal development. And it kind of saved me at that time. This was 11 years ago. So it wasn't big. It wasn't cool. It wasn't very popular to do self-help stuff, to read these books, to learn from these, you know, speakers or these authors. So I dove in and it started really helping me. I was learning about the brain. I was learning about psychology. I was learning about how your beliefs really create your life. I was learning about visualization and all of these information and all of these interesting things that I wasn't previously doing. And I was doing this for a couple of years, right? And it felt very complicated to me. So I was trying to do all the things. But in those few years after I'd started my journey, I wasn't growing or changing as quickly as I wanted to. I'm quite an impatient person. I like shortcuts. I want to just see the results and putting in quickly. And I was impatient. So I thought to myself, okay, you know what? How can I just simplify this? And I was reading. I was reading a book. I remember this moment. This was quite a pivotal moment in my journey. I was in my 200 square foot studio apartment. And I had decided after a couple of years of being in this work and not seeing big results yet that I was going to utilize visualization more. So I took out my phone and I recorded a voice memo to myself. And this voice memo was a description of the life I wanted to live and how it felt to live it. And then I listened to this audio and it was great. It was good, but I needed something more. And I knew that music made me feel a very inspired, big way when it was certain type of cinematic music. So I brought this voice memo onto GarageBand on my computer. I layered in cinematic movie moment, you know, inspirational music. And then I would listen to it. And that gave me the feeling of aliveness, of inspiration, of, you know, motivation that I was looking for. So for years, I was quietly creating dozens of these audios. And that this was my hobby. And it was literally Victoria. If you think about it, like a graph, the first few years of my journey of trying to like journal and wake up early and just kind of do all the things people tell you to do, you know, the growth was so slow. And the moment I started listening to these activations, these, this new type of audio, and I was listening to these with my eyes open, it wasn't meditation. I'd listened to these. It was a bell curve. The graph literally went up like this. I started seeing serious results in my life. Everything started to change finally. And I felt like I found this hack and there's so much science that I now know as to why this specific type of audio helped change me so much. But I couldn't stick to meditation at the time. I also didn't understand how meditation would help me reach these big goals that I had. I wanted a whole, you know, 180 transformation and meditation is great if you want to calm your nervous system and clear your head, but I didn't want that. I wanted something to. Invigorate me. I wanted something to make me feel alive and energized and I wanted to like move while I listened to it. So that's the kind of long story short of how I ended up creating activations and, you know, a couple of years ago decided to release it to the public. This episode of real pod is brought to you by function. And I'm so happy to talk about this because I recently did a blood test that revealed I was deficient in so many key areas and that's what was affecting my low energy levels and my exhaustion. And I did that thing. We all do, which is blame it on myself. I'm not working hard enough. I'm not sleeping enough. I'm not doing enough in these different areas. But what I realized was it actually was a deficiency in a variety of areas. For example, my iron was low. My vitamin D was low. I need more Omega. When you talk about, you know, you could wake up early, you could do the things you had said that just now. And it's so true. You could do the things, but if you're doing them and telling yourself, I'm a piece of shit, no one likes me. I'm not good at this. Like it almost negates what actually is happening. And as I was thinking about this, I was like, I'm not good at this. I'm not good at this conversation with you today and thinking about my own life and what are the ways, because I know you talk a lot about having a clear image about who you are, right? Really knowing your identity. And the number one example I can think of in my current life is I used to tell myself, I'm not a morning person. I was like, I'm a night owl. Like I'm not a morning person. I hate the mornings, but I also wanted to really prioritize my fitness. And in order to do that, I had to get up early at six 30 to do my lips before work because I didn't want to cut into my work day. And so the first, first day I did that, I was really anxious going to bed. That has to do with post-sports trauma, being late for something. But long story short, I'm at this place now where when I see that tomorrow is a 6.30 alarm, I'm just like, that's what I do. That's what I do. I wake up at 6.30, I go to the gym. That voice that used to say, oh, should we cancel it? Should we sleep in? Should we not do three this week? It's there. It's actually bullied by this voice in me that's like, no, I wake up at 6.30 and I lift because I believe I'm that person now. And a lot of your work is helping people believe they are something that might actually not be what they are on paper today because that can cause the domino effect to help them get there. 100%. I love that you did that because that's literally the hack, the shortcut to transforming any area of your life. It's by first looking at your identity and your self-image in that department. It's really hard to embrace. These new habits, when you do not see yourself as the type of person that does those things, it makes it impossible. That's why so many of us fail. If we have these big aspirations and these big goals, we don't actually do the thing necessary to get there. It's because our self-image isn't aligned. All of the work that I do is based in self-image psychology, and it's all about your identity. And your identity has certain beliefs. This new future self-identity, self-image has certain beliefs. She has certain thoughts. She has certain beliefs. She has a certain programming. And if you could then first program yourself to be this new you, this true you, because the true you wants the best things for you, right? If you can first do that, then all the other stuff becomes easy. It becomes just who you are. Just like the example that you just said, you know, if you see yourself as the type of person that wakes up early and goes to the gym and prioritizes herself in the morning, then it's going to be kind of weird if you don't do that. So true. And to have this growth mindset, right? I'll catch myself thinking, I'm not good at this. I've had some things come up in work recently where I'm like, well, I'm just not good at this. And I'm like, Victoria, you're figuring this out. You can be good at this. Like, I'm just not good at this today, or I'm not good at this yet, but let's not limit ourselves. Something else too is, I guess this was maybe not technically an activation, but a motivational video I would call on that really reminds me a lot of the activations you have on the app, which I just did this morning. The one about when your to-do list is overwhelming you. It was helpful. It was talking about how your to-do list might seem so overwhelming and so urgent and important, but it's actually really not. And to look around at your surroundings and just like re-ground yourself and then approach the tasks without feeling fight or flight. So loved it. But when I was playing volleyball at USC, there was this motivational video I always would turn to. And it literally said something like, if you were, God forbid, in a coma, and you woke up and they told you that you used to be a Navy SEAL and they want you back now that you're healthy, do you think you'd act differently? Conduct yourself differently? Have a different self-concept of who you are? I literally know the whole thing. Wait, this is so cool. I love that. So good. And it goes on to say, then if you were told you were a piano instructor, and it's like being who you want to be in life is all about having the belief system about who you are. And it's so true. Like anyone can think about if you woke up and someone told you all these things, about yourself and you didn't have the memory, you would believe it. And then how would you act? Like, how would that person be in conversations? If you told yourself, I'm a great manager, I'm a great friend, I'm a great this. You mentioned earlier, this concept of this future self, you were referencing like she, right? This version of you in the future or me or anyone. Can you talk more about that? How do we have a future self? Yeah. So I use the term future self synonymously with your best self, with your favorite, your ultimate self, your higher self, whatever you want to call it. This is essentially the vision, the version of you that you aspire to be. And this version of you does not just live in the future. You can feel like your future self in this moment right now. It's just the term that I use. And the beautiful thing about this future self concept is that you can actually just tune into it whenever and wherever. It's not actually very hard. There's two steps to transformation that I like to talk about. And it's one of the things that I like to talk about. And it's one of the things that I like to teach. The first step is clarity. You must get so clear, crystal clear on who your future self is and how it feels in your body to be her. So once you are familiar with the feeling of being her in this moment, before all the material has manifested into reality, that is your goalpost, that feeling of being her, of what it feels like to be abundant, to be happy, to be healthy, to be radiant, to be in love with your, your life. Okay. So the first step to getting anywhere is clarity on what that feeling is and who your future self is. You just have to have a vision of your ultimate self, the you that is upgraded, that you want to be. Okay. And then step two is becoming. Once you get crystal clear, you must then be her now in everyday moments. Those three words, be her now, have been just my biggest motto over the past decade of my, my life transformation. And it's kind of my version of Nike is just do it. Just get up and move. Be her now, just be her. Stop overcomplicating transformation. Stop overcomplicating this big goal that you have. Just be her now, because what happens when you are being her in this very moment is you really start to reprogram your brain. New neurons start to fire and wire together. New neural pathways start to rewire. Okay. When you start feeling like her, you start thinking like her. And when you start thinking like her, you start acting like her. And the more that you do that, the more all of these things in your life will start to fall into place because you are simply being her. You begin to have the same standards that she has. You start seeing opportunities where they were always there, but you just didn't see them. And this is actual science. There's something in our brains called the RAS, the reticular activating system. And it's something that we can do. And it's a filtration system in all of our brains. And this RAS is amazing because if we didn't have it, our brains would literally explode with information. There's so much information everywhere being a human being. But the RAS filters out what is important for you to notice based on your beliefs and your thoughts. So for example, we've all heard of this like red car example. If you are thinking about buying a red convertible, you start seeing it everywhere. It's not because they've started making it more. It's because your RAS is going to start seeing it everywhere. Now, dinging and programming to notice and bring that to the conscious brain, right? So the same thing happens with your beliefs, bigger ones. Like I'm a victim. If you deeply believe that you are a victim and bad things happen to you, guess what? You're going to start seeing reasons to validate that belief everywhere. You're going to start seeing proof. It is a self-fulfilling prophecy, but the opposite is true. If you believe that you are 100% responsible for your life and you can create this big, beautiful, juicy, life for yourself where you feel joy every day and you feel alive every day and you're doing something that you're passionate about and you feel vibrant and healthy, whatever it is for you. If that is what you start to program your brain to believe that you are meant for this type of life, you're going to start seeing it everywhere. You're going to start seeing reasons why you're lucky, why that person wants to collaborate with you, why this opportunity might be the right step. And there are really things around us constantly that we're missing if we don't have this mentality, right? It's really fascinating. So your brain is malleable. Your personality can change. So what identity do you want to choose? Can we talk about how this relates, if at all, or how you see it with self-love? Because I know in the beginning you talked about how it's things that are there we're just uncovering, something to that effect, right? Which I love because, I don't want people to think it's throw out who you are and be someone else. Be more you. And I know you're not saying that. So how is that a form of self-love? How is it connected to who we are and not, you know, hey, wipe the slate of you and be someone else? Well, the version of yourself you want to be is essentially who you are today, but removing all the things you don't want to be and bringing in more potential. So what I believe is that that authentic, deep soul version of you, that's your true self, your potential. I believe that we are unlimited as human beings. And I also believe that what we want, we want for a reason. I think that this future self version of us actually exists. You know, we don't need to get into all of the complicated theories in quantum physics, but really time doesn't exist. And this can get a little bit deeper here. I'm so with you, Mimi, on the time thing. I love Eckhart Tolle. And he talks about, he calls it clock time. Yes. He's like, there's no such thing as time. We've come up with Monday, Wednesday, Tuesday, Friday. We've come up with the hours in the day. Like, there's no such thing as time. I think there's a version of every single person listening right now that is their ultimate self. It exists. You just have to tune into it. You just have to become it. That lifeline exists. And to get there, you need to just hone in on that feeling, that potential, that little whisper of potential deep down inside every single one of us. We have to stop believing that it's going to be hard for us. We have to start believing believing that, you know what, this was meant for us living this life full of joy and love and bliss every day. I'm very grateful to think, especially if I go to the career bucket, you listed out a bunch of buckets earlier. If I'm in the career bucket, I feel really satisfied and happy with myself and proud of like where I've come. And I'm noticing that my goals are changing and that every day, life, you know, work day I dreamed about five years ago that I have now, I now don't necessarily want that exactly anymore, right? I'm thinking about, okay, the me in two, three years, what is she going to want? It's actually different. And so then how can I adjust to that? And I think when you're talking about honing in a little voice, it's so true. That voice is going to speak to you now. And then guess what? It's going to come chime in again when you've made progress and it might want different things or you might have picked up some things and thought, oh, I'm actually doing this thing, but I don't like the way it feels or it's not serving me. So then it's going to bring you even sharper clarity on what you're doing. Spot on. Exactly. But I do think that when you prioritize your growth, that is the ultimate act of self-love. I think as humans, we are goal-seeking creatures. We want to move forward in life. So there's a beautiful balance that we all need to find where we can love ourselves as we are right now, but also love ourselves enough to create a better life for ourselves, right? And being radically honest with ourselves. Cause if you have done the work and you've gotten to this place in but I know most of us are still struggling. Most of us want to get that spark back. Most of us want to feel just a little bit better in everyday life. So, you know, love yourself enough to do that for you. And I agree with that. I mean, I, that's where I am now, but I definitely had, you know, my low points in life in college when I was depressed and felt like didn't want to be living. And I think that goes to show too, how can I be me and have had that mindset once. And it's the range that we possess as humans and to not act so rashly or to throw in the towel when you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. Yeah, exactly. And, you know, it is a little bit difficult at first to choose, to have a new way of living, you know, to choose to start waking up a little bit earlier and doing a little bit of journaling. If that makes you feel good to choose to pop on motivational audio, like a podcast or an activation, while you're getting ready in the morning to choose, you know, to put your phone away at 8 PM or 9 PM and not doom scroll until midnight. Like those are all choices and sometimes they can feel uncomfortable at first, but the more you do it, the more comfortable it gets. And then the more it feels good. I have this analogy. That's a really, really great visual. I think for a lot of us to really see what transformation looks like in the brain. So think about a thought. So the thought B, I'll be happy when I reach this goal. Okay. So I'll be happy when as a limiting belief, let's use that as an example. Think about, I'll be happy when as a big paved road in your mind. Okay. Every time you think that thought, it walks down this big, long paved road that is easy to walk down or drive down. And it is easy to go down that road. Okay. Because you've thought about it many times. You've traveled that route so many times. And then think about the side of this road is this big forest. Okay. And there's this tiny bunny trail, you know, through this forest, another way to get to where you want to be. And maybe the thought here is I am falling in love with my life right now while striving for the bigger life that I desire. Right? So think about that as a bunny trail. And every single time that you choose to think a new thought and to not think the limiting belief thought of I'll be happy when. And you choose this new way of thinking, this new way of being that is more fulfilling. You are taking the bunny trail. And the more you take the bunny trail, the more that bunny trail turns into its own real path. And then it'll become its own paved road the longer you take it. And then that old paved road will have cobwebs and trees that have grown, you know, so you don't want to take that old road anymore. So essentially the visual is the more consistent you are with reprogramming your mind, the easier and more automatic you're going to be. And that's what I'm talking about. It becomes to think that way, to think these positive thoughts, to go from I'll be happy when I make six figures in a year to I can enjoy my life now while striving for more. Yeah. And gosh, this conversation is coming at such a time where I buy in because I'm feeling it in my own life. I'm feeling the like, I wake up at 6.30. I lift every morning. Like I also have been really prioritizing my wind down routine. I've been really big on it. I've been really big on that because I get a lot of anxiety about work and I have racing thoughts at night. And if I do not read for at least 30 minutes, I don't sleep well. And I've just had to make the choice of I read before bed. And I love those statements, right? I'm just like, I read before bed. That is who I am. And then when I tell that to myself, it's easier to just turn my phone off because I've told myself I'm a reader. And I love that analogy. I'm sure there are people listening right now who are like, give me an activation. They're dying for it. So it's an app you can because I have it on my phone. And then how do you sign up? Yeah. So if you want, I can actually give your listeners a discount. That would be so sweet. Yeah. So we can't do discounts on the app store because Apple doesn't let you, but if we can create a link so we can just do activations.com slash real pod, we'll give you guys the biggest discount we offer. Oh my God. That is so sweet. Thank you. We also have a 14 day free trial. So people can try it for free for two whole weeks and see if it's for them. But really this is a new category of audio. If you are a podcaster, listener, I'm such a big podcast listener. I love it. If you have something in your ear a lot of the day, this is essentially just another option for you to, you know, press play on when you're feeling like you need a bit of a boost. You want to feel tuned into your best self. You want to help, you know, get clarity on your goals. We have a lot of activations when it comes to clarity, who your future self is, how to become them, how to tune into that feeling. We have over 700 activations in the app and there's something for everyone. There really is. I love all titles. I also did The Lucky Girl. activation. Oh yeah. We have a whole series. We have the whole Lucky Girl series. They have like hundreds of thousands of downloads. They're so popular. I love that because I get intrusive thoughts sometimes, like pretty much every day. And what I've been doing to combat that is that, what do I say to myself? Honestly, you know what it is, Mimi? I once did a thing with a psychic at a resort. What kind of thing? When you go in and they kind of like read your chakras and they tell you about yourself and like connect you to the spirits. Okay. I've only ever done it once because I'm not, I believe in that stuff enough that I don't really want to touch it that much. I don't know if I believe in it. You know what? To each their own. Yeah. But he said to me something about this lap that I'm in is one where I have this like superpower of good things happening and that I can bring that to others and to tap into that myself. And so when I do feel like this intrusive thought, I'll be like, no, because I've got this good superpower and like good things are going to happen. And that is almost like an affirmation or an activation, right? Yes. Yes, exactly. Whatever you believe to be true is your truth. And the really interesting thing about doing this work with your eyes open, like I mentioned, activations you listen to with your eyes open in everyday moments, we have categories like walking activations, cooking, cleaning, getting ready in the morning, legs up wall, whatever it is that you want to be doing. We have like categories for that, right? So it's really designed to be listened to with your eyes open because you want to start training yourself to be your future self in everyday moments. There's a really, really important science behind this, why these activations work so well to transform you. And that is we take advantage of classical conditioning with these activations. It's kind of like the modern take on the Pavlov's dog theory. We've all heard that theory. Pavlov rings the bell, the dog salivates, that's classical conditioning action. So when you are pairing new thoughts and beliefs with these, guided visualizations and activations paired with that energy of the cinematic music and you're feeling different and you're pairing that with an everyday moment, like cooking dinner, walking the dog, whatever it is, soon enough, you don't even need the activation to start feeling inspired, alive, abundant, unlimited. And remember, it's not the activations app that transforms you. It is who you become when you listen to this, right? It's all about who you become. So whatever it is, anyone. Anyone listening, whatever it is that makes you feel that juicy, aliveness-inspired feeling, just do that every day. It doesn't even have to be activations. It could be whatever practice that you feel aligns you with that ultimate version of yourself. Just if you take anything from this conversation, try whatever you're doing right now. If you're driving, if you're in line at the grocery store, if you're cooking dinner, walking, whatever it is, just try to be her now and just try it on. Feel like you're a method actress and act as if and keep it light and keep it fun. Because this work doesn't have to be heavy. This doesn't actually have to be work. I don't even like calling it work, but I don't know what else to call it. This practice, this commitment to being your best self, it doesn't have to be this heavy, hard thing. It's actually very simple and quite light. You just have to be her now in everyday moments and start to retrain yourself to start thinking like the version of you that already exists that's deep down there. Thank you, Mimi. I love that. I love that so much. I have something difficult I'm trying to navigate and this has motivated me so much because I'm realizing that it's difficult because of what I'm saying to myself about how it is. I'm like, I need to just be the version of me now who believes in herself and can do this shit and is going to do it right. Thank you. Summary:

FAQs

The 'future self' refers to your best, most authentic version of yourself — someone you already are deep down, not someone you need to become far in the future. You can feel this version of yourself in the present moment.

Look for small, everyday moments — like a song that gives you goosebumps or a peaceful walk — that bring you energy and presence. These are signs of what makes you feel alive and should be incorporated into daily life.

Your inner dialogue shapes your beliefs and behaviors. By replacing limiting thoughts like 'I'm not good enough' with empowering ones like 'I am capable and growing,' you reprogram your mind to live more aligned with your goals.

Activations use guided audio with cinematic music to create classical conditioning, pairing positive beliefs with everyday activities. Over time, this trains the brain to feel inspired and alive without needing the activation itself.

Yes. Small actions like waking up early, turning off your phone at night, or being present during a walk can build new habits. These choices help you embody your future self in real-time, day by day.

The three-word mantra is 'Be her now,' meaning you should act as if you are already living your ideal, future self in every moment.
