How to Get Invited to Speak on Stages

In this episode, Ali Kennedy teaches how to get invited on stages, emphasizing that the best opportunities are often inbound. She shares her personal journey from being ignored and rejected to becoming a sought-after speaker. The core lesson is that speaking is an untapped opportunity because few people dare to step up, and the demand for speakers is massive. Ali explains that her breakthrough came not from pitching more, but from building her own stage. She hosted a small, low-budget event in her apartment complex, which transformed her confidence and leadership presence. After documenting and sharing this experience on social media, others began seeing her as a leader, leading to her first inbound invitation to speak at a 500-person event. She highlights three common mistakes speakers make: lacking a compelling message, not building visible proof of their expertise, and expecting payment or recognition too early. Instead, she advises investing in exposure, networking, and creating your own opportunities to demonstrate leadership. Hosting events, even small ones, creates a ripple effect: it elevates your energy, attracts clients, and opens doors to larger stages. Ali concludes that by becoming the leader you want to be perceived as, invitations naturally follow, and you can build a movement and scale your impact.

If you want a case study for how you can have your next six-figure year, month, or weekend using virtual events, head on over to virtualeventtoolkit.com/casestudy today. Let's dive into today's episode. How would you like to have your inbox filled with speaking invitations? People coming to you, asking you to speak on their virtual events, in-person events, offering to fly you around the world, paying for your hotels, paying for all of your expenses, paying for you to be there, period, and just being able to impact thousands more, if not millions more, with a single message. That's exactly what we're going to talk about today here on today's episode of Six Figure Speaker Podcast. This is not the number one question that I get after speaking to thousands of entrepreneurs, aspiring speakers, current speakers. This is the most common question I get. How do I get invited on stages? I want to break it down for you today. I want to dive in with just a little bit of a story. In my most, we'll just say, popped off season of inbound speaking opportunities. I want to first preface and set a little bit of context that a lot of the speaking opportunities that I get are actually inbound. People come to me and invite me on stages. The highest that I've ever gotten was four and eight days. I have so many inbound speaking opportunities that I actually have to say no to a lot of them. The first thing I really want to anchor into is the need for speakers is so profound. The need for speakers is so profound. Think about it. There are people who are hosting weekly calls in their programs, in their masterminds, in their memberships. There are people who are doing podcast episodes all of the time. There are people who are hosting events. The opportunity is phenomenal. The reason that this is such an incredible opportunity for you specifically is because not that many people are doing it. Not that many people are stepping up to be speakers. Have you ever heard, there's the statistic they say more people are afraid of public speaking than they are of death? This is so true. This is why the 1% are the 1% because 99% of people are not willing to go trailblaze, lead and pioneer in this way. I share this with you because speaking is the most untapped way to grow your impact, your influence, your income and to really grow your brand, grow your bottom line, grow your business. This right here, the other thing is when you think of the top speakers in the industry, who comes to mind. The first one when I think of this is Tony Robbins immediately. Tony Robbins has been trailblazing the game of speaking in events for decades at this point. Tony Robbins is about 65 right now. He is not going to be in the industry that much longer. My vision for you, by the end of this episode, my vision for you in the wealthy woman movement, my vision for you listening to this podcast is that you can become the next Tony Robbins of your industry in whatever way that looks like for you. I want to start out with a little bit of a story because right now, speaking in events is my favorite thing to do. We're doing it all the time. I actually just did a virtual talk yesterday. We are preparing for an in-person conference in New York. I'm helping my clients facilitate. I'm actually going to talk to you a little bit about that. We do have an opportunity for you to speak on stage. I'm going to talk to you about that at the very end of this episode so you want to hang out until the end. This season of my life, my career, I mean, one of my really good friends is, and he was on one of our previous episodes, Kevin Daley, Harlem Globetrotter, former captain of the Harlem Globetrotters superstar speaker. Speaking has elevated my entire business, my entire life, my entire circle of acquaintances, my entire existence as a leader. In my opinion, it's the ultimate portal to step into new levels of power and leadership which make you a match for higher level friends, acquaintances, opportunities. I want to just sit here for a second. I want to tell you also in the same note that I was not always like this. I was not always a speaker. I was not always outgoing. I was not always somebody who was getting invited anywhere. In fact, it was actually really hard for me to get attention only a few short years ago. Have you ever been in this place where you are, it almost feels like you're speaking into a void? This is where I was at before I really got my break, if you will, as a speaker. I want to rewind back to this point because maybe this is where you're at right now. One of the reasons I wanted to share this episode today is because we actually just put out speaker applications for guest speakers for one of our events. I was noticing a pattern coming up over and over again. I'll talk about that in just a few minutes. This pattern was actually when I think about it and I rewind it, it was actually where I was when I was getting told no, when I was pitching stages and asking people to speak on their stages. Then when I contemplated a little bit more, what I realized is this is actually the same reason that I tell people no because I get asked if people can speak at our events, if they can come on the podcast, if they can guest speak at wealthy women live, any of our virtual events inside of our masterminds, I get asked all the time and I tell a lot of people no, collaborations, different things like that. What I want to do today is I'm going to break down for you how to get invited on stages, but I want to do it through the lens of the top three mistakes I see in the industry so that you can actually go out and you can fix these immediately. This is going to be so, so valuable. I wish I had this episode sooner. I want to rewind because I was in a place only a few short years ago where this was me. I wanted nothing more than to make a bigger impact with my work. I had this, and I still do, I have this massive vision of impacting so many people through this work. I remember reaching out to so many people, pitching stages, pitching events, and even people in my personal network that I knew, maybe people I had hired or knew on a first name basis and I knew the ahead events. It was really everyone. I was pitching as many people as possible. I was getting either politely ignored when people, they're very nice to you in the DMs and they say, "Oh, I don't know, maybe," or they are saying, "Thanks for submitting that," but they never really respond. I was getting a lot of these kind of wishy-washy nice ways of saying no, or I was just getting ignored. Completely ghosted. Nobody messaged me back. This was what was really happening. I remember I was just in this place where I was investing in all these different mentors. I was really looking to grow. My business had plateaued and I was investing in all these different strategies and I was frustrated. I was really frustrated because it felt like nobody was paying attention to me. I don't need to state the obvious. As an entrepreneur, attention is the biggest currency that you have as a marketer. If you cannot get attention, people are never going to see your offer and you're never going to be able to help them. I realized I was in this place where people were not paying attention to me. I was very frustrated because I had 10 years in brand building experience. I had about nine years in marketing and I had been working with the speaking mentor at this point for over a year. I was very frustrated and I wasn't going to let it go down like this. I was determined. I knew I was meant for this. My offers were selling. I had some clients coming in and I had incredible background. I had launched and scaled brands like Heineken, TaylorMadeGolf, Sanrio, Hello Kitty, some of the top names in the world. It wasn't like I was new at this. I knew I was capable of so much more. I just had too much experience to let it go down like this. What happened was I remember I was at this place and I talk about it in some of our other podcast episodes but I went to an event. This event changed my life. I decided in that room that I was not meant for the audience. I decided that I was meant for the stage. That event changed my life so much that I came back from that event back to San Diego and I looked everywhere for an event like this for women. I didn't want to wait. I joined this mastermind. I didn't want to wait four more months to get in the room for another event and I couldn't find anything. I went to all these women circles, different things. Everything was just woo-woo sitting in the ground journaling. I wanted to build a room for high-performing female entrepreneurs who were serious about scaling their business who had big audacious goals. So what happened was I got tired of waiting for people to invite me on their stage and I built my own stage. So this was my first in-person event. I just went for it. It made zero sense. I only had a few clients. There was only one of them that lived in San Diego. So I had no idea if anybody would show up. I had zero evidence that it would work. I rented out the common room of my apartment complex at the time. And my buddy who was in my mastermind, he was Tony Robbins head coach. And he did a lot of these events and the things with Tony. And he actually coached me and trained me up on how to do the event and facilitate the event. So between the mastermind, my coaches, I had my speaking mentor. I had my buddy who was Tony's head coach and the mastermind. I felt really supported. I still had no idea what I was doing. I just kind of put it together in the best way I knew how. And I did it. I hosted this four-hour mastermind workshop exactly like I teach in our six-figure speaker program. Inside of the six-figure speaker system, same thing. I ran this play. This was the first time I discovered the play. It just was interesting because it felt like four hours was a good amount of time. So we did the event. And I was so terrified. What if nobody comes? I'm, you know, paying to rent this room. And for, you know, get the snacks and I bought this $49 mic from Amazon. And it was this, it was like my trophy. I was like, I am a speaker. I'm doing this. And I did it. And I facilitated the room. And it was incredible. People actually drove from hours to be there who I never knew were in my audience. They drove for hours. They got in the room. We left. We cried. People had breakthroughs. It was the most profound and extraordinary day of my life. And I remember after that event, I felt like I could do anything. I felt like I could be anyone. I felt like I could hold anything. And, you know, what had happened after that was it snowballed everything. This event was the catalyst for quantum leaps in my business. Because what had happened was before that now I was signing clients here and there. I remember I was trying to launch a group program and I actually had not been successful with a group program yet. I was signing on one-on-one clients and I had not yet been successful. So I decided, you know what? I'm going to launch a mastermind. I had invested in a mastermind at this point. So I said, you know what? I want to do a high level space and it filled up. I made my old yearly salary in 21 days from that launch. So the launch looked like I did the four-hour event. And then I did a four-hour virtual workshop for anybody that couldn't attend because I had people that said, oh, I can't make it. I really want to come. So we just did again virtually. And then we would do it again in person. And then we did it again virtually. So this was when people started asking me, Ali, how are you doing this? Can I pay you to teach me? And I said, okay, this seems like something that is in very much demand. We should create a system around it. So, you know, three years later, four years, almost testing, investing, getting in the arena as I like to call it refining the system. That's how the six-figure speaker system was born. It wasn't theory. It was just going in and doing it and seeing what worked and refining it over time. So, you know, that's a different episode that we can go into a whole different piece of that. However, where I want to talk about is what happened after this event? So I hosted the event. And I remember, and people were DMing me. I had DMs coming in for weeks. Testimonials. I feel so powerful. I feel so open to express myself on the internet. I'm really claiming my space. People were saying the most profound things. And I just felt in my body. I felt this activation. I felt like I had arrived. I knew in this moment that this was the thing that I was going to do for the rest of my life. This was the business model. I finally found it after years of really trying and testing everything this was it. So what happened was is we documented. And I shared on social media, right? Because that's what we do as marketers. And what happened was other people started seeing me as a leader. Other people started seeing me. So I asked all these people that hired me. I said, why did you hire me? I'm curious because, you know, I didn't tell them about the group program. But they was a common thread among them. And they said, I saw you step into your power. And I know that you can help me step into mine. So there was this elevation of leadership. There was this elevation of energy that who I became because of that event. And this is why I believe that this is why I put all my mastermind clients in the arena. If you're in the wealthy speaker society or you're in our industry icon mastermind or you're a one-on-one client or, you know, even our event consulting clients were throwing events for them and consulting on them. But I put my clients in the arena because this level of influence, power, certainty, is something that cannot be learned in a curriculum or a portal. And most people will go so long years. I went years without it. Some people will go their whole career without really tapping into it. So this is why we put all of our close proximity clients in the arena and on our stages, whether it's our virtual events, our quarterly summits, wealthy woman live, you know, our conference coming up, different things like that. So this level of leadership was the first thing that started attracting new opportunities. And from there, what happened was I actually got invited on my first big stage inbound. I did not pitch this stage. I didn't go out and look for it. I got invited on my first stage of 500 people in Orlando from documenting and sharing this event. He said, "Hey, Allie, and at the time, you know, my background, so my, my zone of genius is brand building, messaging, and speaking. Building iconic brands, I have, you know, I've been doing this for 10 years now. Some of the best top names in the industry. Marketing experience nine years. So messaging is really like where I love to play. And it's the number one thing that people come to me and they have something happening in their messaging normally. They may come to me for speaking, but it turns out to be more of a messaging thing. But the messaging really translates two ways is messaging period and then how do we deliver it as a speaker? How do we create messaging that makes people buy from you? But then how do we exponentially create more influence with that message through speaking?" So this piece right here, so at the time, I didn't have a lot of business results. You know, I had just done, I had just doubled the annual revenue for Taylor made golf before I left. I was doing the business strategy there, I doubled their revenue in 10 months. So I mean, I had incredible results in corporate. And when I came to the coaching industry, I just hadn't really, you know, gotten that kind of results for myself yet. So I was still leaning into the brand angle. I was building a brand to be known as brand. That's what I did my first couple of events around where really just different angles around brand and how to attract more clients from your brand. So I got recognized as an in a person of influence on brand, speaking on brand specifically. So somebody came to me and they said, "Hey, Owly, we're doing this event. It's in was it October, in Orlando, 500 people." They said, "We need a brand speaker. Do you want to come and speak?" And this was the, it was, I mean, yes. You almost have to play it cool in those kinds of scenarios when somebody comes up to you and you, you know, it's the first time. And you're like, "Yeah, yeah, I guess we could talk about that. Let's get the details, see if it aligns." And, you know, so we got in contact and long story short. So I'm going to start here too. I'm going to dive into the three biggest mistakes I see in just a second. But I want to start here because this piece of the story is important. So this particular event, I actually did not get paid for this speaking event. And I didn't get paid to go there. My payment was exposure. I got exposed to 500 entrepreneurs building their businesses who were building brands online. So my payment was exposure to the audience. My payment was, you know, they recorded the keynote. I got photos. I got videos. I got so many networking opportunities. And, you know, I actually, it was the catalyst for more events for me, for more speaking opportunities. So I share this piece because one of the biggest things I see in, especially as we are building and growing a network of speakers and we're sourcing guest speakers. And we're always looking for guest speakers. Guys, I cannot speak at all the events that I get invited to. And this is one of the reasons why we're really growing this network of speakers. And this army of speakers is because I can't speak at all of them. And some of them, they're not at all. blind for my grand vision. So I would love, you know, that's my really my vision is again to be placing you on stages. So this piece right here is so important because I actually paid for that flight. I paid for my hotel. I paid for all my expenses to get there. And I remember the first time I walked in the room and I looked around and there were so many chairs and I, it brings tears to my eyes because it was really that point where I just said this is it. We're really doing this and I have chills. I feel chills all in my body right now, even just saying that. And I remember in the music and the music was bumping. There was this house music on and it was this great energy and I got in the room and I remember I actually saw a couple of people that I knew. There's some other event consultants in the industry that I knew and another, you know, somebody from a sales team that I knew and it was like I felt like I arrived at home. I felt like I finally got like arrived and I was at home and it was the most beautiful thing. So the event, this event, I actually, it was such an extraordinary event. I was a last speaker. I had so many people rush up to me. So this piece right here, I had never experienced this before and this was so crazy. When I walked off the stage, people started rushing up to me. I wasn't even down the whole entire, you know, there's a little hallway between all the seats. I wasn't even down the hallway and people were rushing up to me saying, oh my gosh, your talk was incredible. This was the best talk of the entire event. They saved the best for last. People were coming up to me asking questions. They were saying this changed my perspective on everything. I had somebody come up to me and say, I've been trying to learn about brand. I've been searching and researching for months, my wife and I, and what you just delivered. He said, you just put it all together in 45 minutes. I feel like you just saved me years. And this piece actually makes me emotional. This piece makes me emotional. I had a guy come up to me. This was actually later. So after this initial rush of people, and you finally get out, oh, people are taking pictures with me. And another event I did, somebody actually asked me for an autograph. So it was like I was famous. It was crazy. I had generated so many leads. People opted into my email list. And I actually do have a cheer in my eye about to say this. So I had a guy come up to me in the hallway later. We were doing a dinner. And there was a big lobby. It was in a big hotel. So we were eating dinner. And this guy came up to me during dinner. And he said, your talk was extraordinary. He said, I'm an actor. I'm in New York. I do these big Broadway shows and all these big things. And he was building a business at this event as well. And he said, I hope my daughter grows up to be like you. And it makes me emotional because I've had people that have moved me to tears with what they've said, just like right now. I'm actually-- I'm actually getting emotional sharing this. But I've also had people that have come up to me with tears in their eyes, telling me that I changed their life with my message. So this piece right here, it is something that if you haven't spoken on in-person stages yet, it is the most extraordinary thing-- DMs for weeks, weeks after on Instagram, on Facebook, people DMing me, saying, I'm still having breakthroughs. And this is something that it cannot be replicated in a Zoom room. It cannot be replicated inside of a curriculum. It cannot be replicated digitally. It's one of those things that when you experience it in person, there's nothing like it. There is nothing like it. So this event, it changed my life. It changed who I was as a human forever. And what happened was this was the catalyst for more clients, more events. I actually got invited for my first paid speaking opportunity from this event. So this is the piece right here. This is the piece right here is so important, because I did not get paid for my first event. But it was the catalyst. I can't even tell you what the ROI on that is, because you can't even track it at this point. So many clients, so many paid speaking opportunities. So this piece right here, what I see often in the speaking industry is that sometimes there is this sense of entitlement that can come along with, oh, well, I'm not going to invest into XYZ to grow my business. But at the end of the day, this, the investment is the thing that will quantum leap your business, your life, your career, your leadership, and make you a match for all of this. If I didn't invest in that first event, so this is the, this is this point right here, these two pieces, right? And when I think back to how I got invited, started really getting invited regularly on stages, there was two ways. Number one, I built my own stage. This is what we teach all of our clients to do, whether it's in the wealthy speaker society, the industry I can master mine, our event consulting, VIP offer, one-on-one clients. That's what they're doing. They're going out there and building their own stages. Or I actually got on a stage and then people saw me as a speaker and then I got invited onto more stages. So this leads me into the top three mistakes I see that why most people, why you're not getting invited on more stages. And even if you are getting invited on more stages, if you're getting invited on stages period, this is going to help you get invited on even more and become somebody who really stand out speaker. So lean in either way, no matter where you're at, this is going to be beneficial to you. So the first thing, the biggest mistake, now after going through so many speaker applications, the biggest thing that stood out is that-- so the first thing if you want to get invited on more stages and the reason why we say no to a lot of people is because your signature talk needs to clearly solve a problem. Your signature talk, now this is obvious. It's so obvious. Your signature talk, it's like an offer. And I shouldn't even have to say this. This is-- you should know this already. You probably already know this. Everyone who's a business owner knows this. If your offer is the solution to a problem, you know that to be true, right? Shake your head with me if that's a be true. So your offer solves a problem. Now your signature talk is an offer for the event host. So think of it, kind of like client attraction with your offer, your signature talk is very, very similar where they're adding value to their audience through the event and they're solving a problem through their event. So they want to source speakers who also clearly know how to solve a problem. So the number one mistake that I see-- and this is actually one of the reasons why most people come to me. Now sometimes people think they're coming to me for speaking, and they want to be speakers. But when we really dive in into their business, we have to look at the messaging period in their offer and how they communicate their work to the world. Now, so your talk is like an offer. And messaging is so, so important. And it doesn't just start at your talk. It doesn't just start at your talk. Your talk is actually an extension of your offer. When you do it the way that I teach you-- when you do it the way that I teach my clients, where you can share your signature talk and sign clients on the spot into your high ticket offers, into your offers period, the way that we do this, there must be a congruency between who you are, what you want to be known for, the offer that you help people with and your talk is an extension of that. So this is how you land clients. Now, this piece right here, this is exactly how that first event helped me have my-- do a launch that made my old yearly salary in 21 days, because there was congruency between the event, what I was known for and the offer. Similarly, my client Jenna, from our industry I come mastermind, the first time we put her in the arena inside of one of our virtual events. She did a 15 minute keynote, she didn't even sell at the end. And she signed clients, she had customers rolling in immediately after that. And then she signed her highest ticket client, pay in full, thousands of dollars from that talk. Would it be cool if you if you had a talk that not just-- not just you were just throwing spaghetti at the wall, but actually it was very intentionally structured in signing up. new clients. Hi, take a glance from it. So this is the kind of work that we do in my world. And I'm going to talk to you about the other two things, the other two mistakes. So this piece right here is so so important. Signature talk that clearly solves a problem. I can't tell you how many applications or conversations I've been through with people who say they want to speak. And I say, what is your signature talk? And they either don't have one or they say, oh, well, I could speak on these topics. So a topic is not a signature talk. A really good, if you really want to nail this. So it's kind of like signature talk title is very much like writing a really sexy hook, a really sexy headline. You know, when you write, let's just say an Instagram reel and you want it to stop the scroll of a reel right now going viral. And the hook needs to capture attention, solve a problem. Two things right there. Be very specific. So most common thing that I see is that when I read, if you do have a signature talk, I can't tell what problem you're solving because you're either telling me what the topic is or you're telling me something that doesn't, it's not really a headline. So the best way to have a really sexy signature talk is to get really good at headline writing. This is an I nerd out on copywriting. This is, I just love copywriting so much. I actually did, I nerd it out on this for years. I actually got hired by a multiple eight figure coaching company at one point for about a year and a half. And I was doing copywriting for them. And I worked with some of the top copy writers in the industry who trained me. And I just love copy words, creating words that sell. This is really my zone of genius. And where I have so much fun written or speaking, speaking is really just the amplification of the written piece and the end of the day, right? It's how you amplify the message, the written message. So copywriting is so important. One of the most profitable skills as a marketer outside of speaking is copywriting. If you understand how to write and speak words that sell words that turn to money, you will never have to worry about money again. So this is why I nerd out on this. And I still do. So signature talk that clearly solves a problem, write a sexy headline. It should clearly demonstrate in one sentence what problem you're solving. How to do XYZ? Simple. How to do XYZ without things that most people don't want to do. How to do XYZ even if insert common objections. So take that. Go look at your signature talk if you have one and go update that. Please. Please do. This is going to save you. And you can use the same structure on any other if you're writing a hook or anything like that. So this is going to be something that you can take with you and you can use for life. Okay. So number one signature talk that clearly solves a problem. So number two, a recording of your virtual talk. Now when I did these first series of events, the first event, I didn't actually have a recording of my talk. What I did have was pictures of me speaking on the mic. So I was clearly and then we'll lead into this in number three and just a second. So I was clearly a brand who was a speaker. I was a thought leader. I was a speaker. People saw me as that. So this piece right here. Now when I just put out speaker applications, I was looking for speakers and I was actually really surprised that zero percent of the applications had a link to have any kind of recording of their speaking. No podcasts, episodes, no webinars, no nothing. So I was a little confused. I was a little confused to say the least. I'm like, okay, interesting. So when I think about this piece right here, now this is so, so important. Now guys, I went to art school. I went to art school. And when I got, I wanted this story is actually going to land this point really, really good. So when I was in art school, I was the top of my class. I'm an award winning designer. My first design job was actually the one I won the award at first job at the gate. Now I actually, I got invited to this job. So this job, it was the senior graphic designer for the newspaper. And they hand select the person who is going to pass this position and they select the best. And I wasn't just the best by a hair. I was the best by a landslide. And this is very, very similar in business because a lot, most times people aren't even trying. Most entrepreneurs aren't trying. So I actually, I loved it. I went above and beyond. Similarly, it's how I view business. It's a masterpiece. It's a work of art. I love it. So I, my work was noticed. And I was invited into this opportunity, very, very similar to speaking, very, very similar to how I got this first speaking gig invitation was my brand started to elevate. It was clear that I was leading in a bigger way than most people. So this particular job, I won't go into the story too much, but I actually went to Europe and I was very inspired by Swiss design. I love, I love, you know, the Bauhaus movement and all very, very clean Swiss design. So I actually redesigned the newspaper. It was a very faux pas. I went, I disrupted the industry standard of the newspaper because the newspaper is something that if you ever have seen a newspaper, everything's very crammed together. So they pay for advertisements and all these different things. So I went to Europe and before I started the job, I had the summer and I traveled through Europe for months. I was actually training with Vidal Sassan in London. I went over there for that. And I was traveling Europe and I was really interested in art and design. I was in art school at the same time while still in this career. And I collected all these newspapers and magazines and things that were very inspiring. So I went back and it was, I went against the industry standard. And I changed the entire layout of the newspaper and I created white space and I created, you know, breaking the grid and different typography. And it was, I've never seen a newspaper like this in America. It was very European and I won an award. I'm actually looking at it right now. First place layout and design for this design. And so long story short, I said, what's next? Great. We've reached the top. How can we go bigger? This is just the story of my life over and over again. In life and business, it shows up in so many ways. So I went to my next job as a designer. And when you go to a design interview, no, I, this is where I got the job at the agency where I was working with the big brands like Heineken and, you know, Hello Kitty and all these incredible brands. So I go in and when you go in and design interview, the first thing they ask you for is your portfolio. They want a sample of your work. So imagine I walked up to this interview and I said, oh, hey guys, I know that you are delivering value and products to some of these incredible brands. But I actually don't have a portfolio. But trust me, I'm a really good designer. I'm really confident. I'm really great at design. Do you think they would have hired me? Hard now. Hard now. So this piece right here is very, very similar to when you're wanting to get invited on stages. If you do not have anything to showcase your work as a speaker, it's going to be difficult to get recognized. This piece right here, so when I had the recording from the second event, this was the recording that got me booked to speak on stage, paid to speak flown out on stage for clients and community, which they're an eight-figure coaching company. They've done over $150 million in client revenue. And I got to share my signature methods of what was working and they invited me on the stage at their mastermind event. So this piece right here is so profound because having a recording of your talk, number one, yes, if you have recording of you doing a keynote on a stage, this is the best recording you could have. But if you're applying for some kind of speaker opportunity and you don't have that, please put something else because we need to see a sample of your work to understand how you communicate. This is so important. So recording of your virtual talk, your virtual not virtual talk, your in-person talk, if you don't have an in-person talk, add a virtual link as well. Add something, add something. Okay, so the last thing is a brand that wins the 50 milliseconds sale. What is the 50 milliseconds sale you're asking? This is so this is what I call it the "Walty Woman Movement." It is based in human psychology. People make a subconscious decision about you and your brand within 50 milliseconds of seeing it. Are they in or are they out? Do they want to pay you? Do they want to pay attention to you? Do they want to follow you? Or no? So one of the biggest things as a speaker, as an event host, as an event consultant, is do I want your brand to be associated with mine. If your brand doesn't look good, I don't care what any other mentors say that don't teach brand. If your brand doesn't look good, you're leaving money and opportunities on the table. People are gonna look at you and they're not gonna take you seriously. So this piece right here, winning the 50 millisecond sales. So I had the photos. I had the videos. I was starting to, and I was doing a lot of virtual then, so it was clear that I, between in-person and virtual, I was a speaker. People came to my brand, and I mean, I've always taken that, I've always been intentional about that, because I love design. And this is one of the reasons why, in our mastermind, we do, you know, in-person photo shoots, and at Wealth Newmen Live, we have photographers doing headshots for you guys. This is one of the most important reasons, because if your brand does not look high-end and professional, it's going to be difficult for you to sign high-end clients who want to pay you $5,000, $10,000, $20,000, $30,000. But also, it's gonna be difficult for you to get booked on big stages and invite it on stages. So, this piece right here, a brand that wins the 50 millisecond sales. So, our client, Lily, we put her in the arena at one of our events at Wealth Newmen Live, and she had a 25% growth in her audience organically, just because of the photos and the videos of her speaking. She looked so much more premium. She actually had, she was signing on her highest ticket clients, paid in full. She had Lizzie Jeff, who's a pretty well-known artist musician in her DMs, asked me her about publishing. So, this piece right here, I wanna say it's Ralph Waldo Emerson. He says, "Who you are speaks so loudly, I can't hear what you say." So, your brand is this. This is an energetic piece, right? It's the instant what people feel as soon as they see you. Do they feel that you are the expert to buy from, to hire, to pay attention to, to put on their stage? So, this piece right here, and I love to say this in the Wealth New Woman movement, don't tell people what you need, show them how you can lead. And most people are operating in bare minimum energy. Most people aren't even trying. So, when you step into speaking, and when you actually step up on stage, when you step into this identity as a speaker, you are going to be so differentiated from anybody in the industry, you're going to get so much more attention, people are going to see who is the one. So, these three things, signature talk that clearly solves a problem, a recording of your talk, and a brand that wins the 50ms sale, this will get you invited on so many more stages. Now, you're probably wondering, "Ali, what's next?" Okay, great, how do I do these things? So, we've actually got a special opportunity. This is actually a very limited offer. It's only going to be available for a few weeks because this event is coming up. So, what I've done, because I know, I know, as you guys heard, I know what it can be like to try to get that first stage under your belt. The first one's the most, it's actually simple. Once you have a few things in place, I told you guys when I hosted the event, I got my first invite, within four months, I was flying to Orlando. So, it's actually simple once you have a few things in place, those three things that I talked to you about, and what I want to do is I want to give you an opportunity to do all three of them. So, I've opened up a one-on-one opportunity. It's called "Overnight Celebrity." I'm going to train you in 30 days to be a speaker, and I'm going to place you on a physical stage in person at our Empowered Women's Leadership Conference in Canada, Guad New York, July 23rd, the 25th. It's going to be so much fun. So, this is for you, if you're somebody who, you know, speaking is the next step to grow your brand, to grow your influence, your impact, and your income. You have impact on your heart. You know you were born for the stage, and you're just ready to go. You're ready to go. You're ready to go yesterday, and you want to do it fast. You don't just want to do this. You want me to take you by the hand to the Promised Land. I was speaking, put you on the stage, put you in the spotlight, and spotlight your brand in front of thousands of entrepreneur women and women in high-level leadership roles. So, that's the audience. This event is going to be so much fun. This is for women who want to ignite their next level of high performance leadership so that they can build wealth in all areas of their life. This is going to be so much fun. I'm going to be speaking and facilitating for three days. This is actually my event, consulting clients event. They let me pull a couple of strings. I asked them, I was like, "How cool would it be if we, you know, one of the things we do in the wealthy woman movement is, I call it, you know, we put people in the arena." I was like, "How cool would it be if we put people in the arena at this event?" And just add some really, and the energy to this empowered leadership context to empower leaders to rise. So, that's really a lot of what we do. That's, I mean, that's a lot of what we do in the multi-woman movement. So, what we're going to do, if you're interested in this, there's only a couple of spots available, and they're not going to be available for that much longer because the event's coming up. So, I'll need time to work with you on your one-on-one signature message. So, what we're going to do, I'm going to work with you one-on-one on your signature message. I'm going to take you through my shape, your signature message method, step-by-step, and create a message for you that you can rinse and repeat. You can use on this stage, you can use to get booked on other stages. This is the same framework that I use for my clients who are signing clients paying thousands of dollars on the spot for my event consulting clients, the same framework that I use to sign five figure clients on the spot at our events. Now, without this particular piece, typically people will just throw together a keynote. And a lot of times I find people move into over-teaching, but there's a very specific way to structure your talk. We call it transformational sales speaking, so that it changes lives. There's, I call it the transformation trilogy, when you take people through these three levels of transformation, number one, that's when you get the tears, that's when you get that you change my life. But number two, that's when people say, "How can I work with you?" Send me the link. So, I'm going to take you through this. I'm going to help you craft your signature message. You're going to deliver it on stage at the event, at the Empowered Women's Leadership Conference, so most people have a more difficult time finding their first stage. Now, I told you guys I built mine. I stopped waiting. I was done. I went ahead and did it. But maybe you don't want to build your own stage right now, or maybe you want to start with a virtual event, or maybe what you want to do is you want to get on that stage and actually have an audience and be exposed to thousands of people. So, we're going to do that for you. I'm going to put you on stage. So, I'm going to, I call it in the arena training. I'm going to do in the arena training with you. I just had an interview in the wealthy woman Facebook community with Alia the other day, earlier this week. She talked about her in the arena training experience with wealthy woman live. And so, it's a very, it's a feedback loop, right? I don't just help you do the talk. You practice it with me in a safe environment before you go on the stage. And then, on the stage, I can actually give you more feedback from that day of how you can continue to improve. So, there's about three feedback loops that we have throughout the entire process. She called it a white glove service. I like to think that's very much how we treat our clients. It's very custom. It's very personalized. And you get to practice it with me beforehand to make sure that you are rock solid ready to go before you hit the platform. So, you feel like a powerhouse on the platform. So, you know you have a talk that's going to change lives. It's going to get people who are interested in your work, in your DMs, in your conversations, generate a ton of leads at the event, generate clients for you who are willing to pay you thousands of dollars. We're going to give you your first stage. The coolest thing about this is we actually are including photography and videography. So, you will be able to build a brand that wins a 50-mell second sale. You'll be positioned as a speaker. You'll have all the assets that you need to get booked on bigger and bigger stages. This is profound. This piece right here will change your life and business forever. Most people aren't attracting the clients that they really want at the price points that they really want because their brand does not look good. Their brand does not say premium. So, we want to position you as a premium brand as a premium speaker. And you're going to have all the assets that are going to get you higher paying clients, more paying more paying clients and booked on bigger stages so that you can actually get paid to speak. You can get flown around the world. You can have all your expenses paid. This will be a catalyst to your growth. So, we're going to do that. We're going to put you in the arena. We're going to do all the speaking assets. And you're going to get exposed to thousands of women between social media, the email list. We're going to be giving you a speaker spotlight so your brand is going to be featured in all of the marketing, which is cool because you'll actually be positioned as a speaker before the event. And it happens. People start seeing you on our marketing. So, so cool. And you'll get an event ticket, which this event is going to be a portal to your next level of leadership. I cannot wait for this event. It's going to be incredible. It will be now the reason that I'm doing this is because I know the power of events. Events are like an event horizon. You will not be the same person. If you have 10 clients, 10,000 clients right now, you will not be the same person when I'm done with you with this experience. It will change you from the inside out. You will embody your next level of leadership in an event. It will expose you in the best possible way. You will meet your future or best friends. I've met my best friends. I've met my best clients. I've met my best business partners at these events. It will change your life. So, we're going to have so much fun. There's going to be so many incredible things. We have private speaker training with all the other speakers. You're going to get invited to that. So you get to see behind the scenes kind of behind the curtain of how we facilitate this. So if you're interested in this, this is a one-on-one exclusive offer. It's only available for a limited time. The event is July 23rd to the 25th in Canada, Degua, New York. This is the Finger Lakes. It's kind of like you're in a Monet painting up there. As soon as you get into the Finger Lakes region into Canada, Degua, what I hear is it's like it feels instantly like you're on vacation. You're at a retreat. All your stress will dissolve. You're in nature. Surrounded by these beautiful lakes, such an incredible place. A lot of people vacation there. There's like a big wine country and it's just going to be so incredible. So what you're going to do to get more information on this, you're going to DM me. This is a one-on-one offer. So you do have to DM me. And just DM me the word "seleb." This is our overnight celebrity package. This is so much fun. And I've just seen the lives change. When we put our client Lily and the arena for Wealth Human Lives, she was charging before that she was charging. It's crazy to say this. $225 for single sessions of her one-on-one. She got the conviction to raise her rates to $25,000 after this. I told you about Lizzy Jeff. I told you about the audience growth. We had the same thing happen with Jenna. When Jenna, we put her in the arena. And she signed clients from every one of our events. Wealth Human Lives, all of our events. When you work with me, it's almost impossible not to sign clients when you speak because this is what we do. We train transformational sales speakers. It's very unique and very different. Nobody else is teaching this in the industry. This is very nobody does what I do. So this piece right here, you can't get it anywhere else. There's only a couple of spots available. And it's going to change your life. So Jenna, rather, when Jenna went through this, she was really in the same kind of struggling for attention in the beginning. Clients here and there are low-ticket clients. She wasn't getting a lot of hits on her high-ticket clients. She ended up signing one of the top experts in the coaching industry who's done over 30 million in client revenue as her one-on-one client after we put her through this. So I share this with you because the type of clients that you're attracted, the amount of money that you'll get paid, she even said after he hired her, she said, "I really need to raise my rates. I know the value of my work. I can serve a higher level client. I am so certain in this." So this doesn't, it hasn't just worked for me. This works for all of our clients. This is the same process I bring my event consulting clients through in our VIP day weekends for $50,000. So this is, it's not a $50,000 offer. It is, you're going to DM me if you want information. We have a couple of spots available. I'm so, so excited to see who you become because of this event. And I'm so, so excited to see how your brand elevates because of this podcast episode. So send me a DM, DM me the word "slebb" on Instagram or Facebook. My profiles are linked in the show notes. All the information you need will be linked in the show notes for the overnight celebrity offer. Again, we're going to be working one-on-one together to make you a celebrity speaker. You're going to be a celebrity in your industry because of this. In 30 days, I'm going to place you on a stage, work with you one-on-one to shape your signature message that will get you known as the one in your industry that they can't take their eyes off of. Get you paid. Help you sign clients on the spot. Help you book bigger speaking opportunities and just really become somebody extraordinary, become a later worth following because you've activated a new level of power, certainty, and conviction. Podcast Summary

Key Points:

  1. Inbound speaking invitations are possible and can fill your calendar; the demand for speakers is high because few people pursue it.
  2. The most common mistake is pitching without first building a visible leadership presence; attention is the key currency.
  3. Hosting your own events (even small ones) builds confidence, authority, and proof, which attracts inbound opportunities.
  4. Documenting and sharing your event experiences on social media positions you as a leader and leads to invitations.
  5. Early speaking opportunities may be unpaid or even self-funded; treat them as investments for exposure, networking, and future paid gigs.
  6. Avoid mistakes like lacking a clear message, not showcasing results, or expecting payment before establishing credibility.
  7. Building your own stage is a catalyst for business growth, including launching programs and attracting clients.

Summary:

FAQs

The most common question is 'How do I get invited on stages?' Ali shares strategies for attracting inbound speaking opportunities rather than pitching cold.

Ali says the need for speakers is profound because many people host events, podcasts, and calls, but few step up to speak. Speaking is an untapped way to grow impact, influence, income, and brand.

Ali was often politely ignored, ghosted, or told 'maybe' when pitching stages. She felt she was speaking into a void until she decided to build her own stage.

After hosting her own event and documenting it on social media, she was invited to speak at a 500-person event in Orlando. She did not pitch; the opportunity came to her because others saw her as a leader.

No, she paid for her own flight, hotel, and expenses. Her payment was exposure to 500 entrepreneurs, which led to more speaking opportunities and networking.

One mistake is not building authority and visibility first. Ali emphasizes that documenting your own events and stepping into leadership attracts inbound opportunities, rather than just pitching cold.
