How to Build a Life You Actually Enjoy Living

In this episode of *Hot and Unholy*, host Brianna Gomez challenges listeners to shift their focus from external validation to internal fulfillment. She argues that society's obsession with appearances, numbers, and achievements (like followers, money, or popularity) often leads to emptiness, as these things cannot provide lasting satisfaction. Instead, true happiness comes from presence, gratitude, and enjoying life as it is, rather than constantly waiting for the next milestone or perfect moment. Brianna shares personal experiences, including chasing success and validation, only to realize that real joy requires slowing down and appreciating what already exists. She emphasizes that being busy does not equal being fulfilled, and that rushing through life prevents us from truly living. By romanticizing the present and celebrating small wins, we can avoid the trap of always longing for more. The episode encourages listeners to prioritize feeling good over looking good, as inner peace naturally enhances outer glow. Ultimately, Brianna urges her audience to stop treating life as a waiting room and start actively savoring each moment, reminding them that the key to a fulfilling life is not in the next achievement, but in how we choose to see and experience our current reality.

I'm calling you out on something. Most of us are so focused on worrying about what looks good, that we are neglecting focusing on what actually feels good. We are so focused about what will make us appear a certain way, instead of what will fill our souls, what will fill our hearts, what will make us feel most ourselves opposed to something that makes us fit into someone else's box better. So if you want to learn how to level up your life and unlock the hottest, highest, and healthiest version of yourself, and just learn how to actually start enjoying your life instead of living it worrying about others, this is the podcast for you. Welcome to today's episode of Hot and Unvoly. Hello beautiful people and welcome back to my podcast. If you're new here, my name is Brianna Gomez or you can call me Bri and I am your host of Hot and Unvoly. The ultimate place to be for the people who want to focus on something that actually matters. If you came here for a surface level advice, for quick, fixed trends, for little things that are not going to matter in the long run, but are going to make you feel hotter or more validated instantly. This is not the podcast for you. I'm going to say that right now. This is for the people who want genuine intention in their life, who want to feel more filled within their souls instead of what the exterior realm has to offer. This is about actually feeling and living a life that feels complete and full of love and gratitude for you and not for anyone else. So today, I want to talk about something that is very near and dear to my heart and that is living a life that we truly enjoy. Because let me tell you, I've done it all. I've chased external validation. I've chased boys. I've chased followers. I've chased money. I've chased success. I've chased alcohol. I've chased all these other things. And none of it matters. Popularity, friend groups, it all means nothing. I have had these things and it really is pointless if you don't feel internal satisfaction, love and fulfillment from it. And let me tell you, you will never find internal loves, satisfaction or fulfillment from any of those things I just listed. So whatever it is that you feel is maybe your vice, something that you are chasing, something that you are craving so deeply. Again, maybe it's success, maybe it's a certain dollar amount, follower amount, amount of friends, amount of cars, amount of money. It does not matter if you are enjoying it and you hear so many people who become millionaires, billionaires and they're like, wait, I have all this money. I could have anything I want in this world and I still feel empty. And I think that's just such an interesting thought in a world where we focus so much on presenting ourselves on a silver platter, curating our perfect highlight reel of our life, the perfect outfit, the perfect hair, comparing yourself to all these different things that we see online. It is exhausting and you will never be happy. It might feel like you get that short form gratification of like, oh, I got to like, oh, I look exactly like this Pinterest picture. But it really means nothing if it doesn't bring true joy and fulfillment to your heart. And that's something that I have just been so awoken of lately. You can have all the plans in the world, all the parties to go to, all the followers, all the friends, all the outfits, all the money. And you can still feel empty inside. And so I went to make an episode today. How are we going to be truly happy in life? Because a lot of us are chasing something that is not even attainable. We focus on chasing quantifiable things. We focus on defining our lives around a number. Again, number of followers, number of cars, number of friends, number of money. And the truth is your quality of life cannot be defined by a quantity. It just isn't possible. And so so long as you are trying to use a number to justify how you feel about your life, your level of happiness, it will feel empty. And so I wanted to dive in today. But before we do it, you guys know I love to share a quick podcast review. Today we have one from Addy. She said, "Hi, Bri, I'm Addy. I've been watching for almost seven months. And Bride has become the best day of the week. I love your positive and loving energy and the way that you focus on things that will make us feel better instead of just look better. I'm on a journey of self-growth in all aspects of my life. And I've never felt more peace than I do now. And your podcast has such a big part in that. You've inspired me to build my relationship with the Lord and to be a more loving person. Love you. Addy, I love you so much. Words cannot describe how spot on this is for me. Just the way that you are feeling is just everything that I could ever hope this podcast can bring to anybody in the relationship with the Lord. That is just so beautiful. I'm so proud of you. He's so proud of you. That is just, I have no words for that honestly. And just like Addy said, we focus on feeling better before looking better. And it is so undeniable that when you feel better, you will automatically look better. I feel like that's just the cheat code to life that so many people are missing out on. Everyone's so hyper fixated on how I'm going to look better, how am I going to glow up exterior wise? If you focus on how you feel, a glow up automatically comes with that. And it is insane. And I've got proof to show it. It's so crazy. But that's the life hack. Because looking better does not always mean feeling better, but feeling better always means looking better. I've tested it all. Trust me. But if you guys want to leave a podcast review and be featured like our sweet Vestie Addy, go ahead and rate the podcast five stars on Spotify, leave a review. And you might just hear yourself in next week's episode. Something I realized recently is that so many of us are working so hard to achieve our dream life that we are forgetting to actually live it. And I am the walking example of that. You know how long I wanted this for. I wanted to have a podcast for so long. I want to have a platform for so long where I had a community where I could help people. I wanted it to be my full time job or my main form of income. And I have that right now. But the thing is, when we get something we want, it's so easy to get caught in the spiral of being like, I want more. I need more. It's never going to be good enough where we forget to just stop and be present in that moment. We feel so much pressure that now we got what we wanted. I have to work harder. I have to achieve the next thing, which yes, we should always be growing. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't grant ourselves the permission to sit and smell the roses and enjoy where we're at the roses that the roses behind me. My boyfriend got me these as a little move in present. Speaking of, I just moved you guys. If you didn't know, we're in a new background. This wallpaper over here on the left totally fell off. She's a work in progress. We didn't do that one right. But yeah, I even feel like in this new apartment, right? A lot of stuff was going wrong. This bed behind me, if you're watching, we got on Facebook Marketplace. I was like, oh my gosh, this is my dream bed, everything I've been wanting on my Pinterest boards. And now it's broken. I literally slept at a full incline last night because the top is stuck at a part where it's higher than the foot of the bed. And that went wrong. And then the wallpaper went wrong. And it's so easy for me to wake up and want to feel the urge to get annoyed. Like old Bree would have been like, oh, screw today. It's not happening. I've worked today. I just can't do this all. It's making me so mad. Old Bree would have probably crashed out. But to be honest with you, I didn't. Because I'm still in a new space in a new city by the beach, like feeling so grateful still. Even though this thing kicked my butt, guys, I have kinks in my neck and my shoulders. Like I can't even turn left to right. And even so, we literally broke my bed trying to fix it. Even so, I'm grateful that I have a bed. I'm grateful that I have an apartment and I wanted to move out so badly. And now we have that. And so just realizing, you know, my social media platform is something I wanted for so long. And then it turned into work, which is what I wanted. And then it's so easy to find myself being like, I need to do this for my podcast. I need to edit this for TikTok. I need to get this up. I need to take these calls. No, I get to. I have the absolute privilege of coming on here every single Friday and chatting with my best friends in the whole entire world and talking about things that I love to talk about and messages that are so important for me to share. I have the privilege of quite literally living something that I wanted that I prayed for for so long. This time last year, you know where I was? I was on bed rest. I just had surgery. I made over-rearmoved. I was not even thinking that I would be moved out in a new town off on my own in my new room, like just doing all these things, my podcast supporting the whole journey. Like, that is so insane and to think like, how dare I ever take anything for granted ever again because it's something that I once really, really wanted. And so I just want to remind us all of that. Like, you can work so hard for your dream life. But does it mean anything if you're not living your dream life? If you are not presently and actively soaking up the moment of everything you ever wanted, now becoming your reality, what's the point? Once or something, I want us all to ask ourselves is how often are you rushing through your day to day life, rushing to work, rushing out the door, rushing to go see your best friends? Well, you know, this is a job that you once prayed that you would get. This is the friend group, the neighborhood, the community that you once prayed you would have, and we're rushing through these motions. And also just stop and ask yourself, am I always waiting for the next thing? Am I always waiting for it? The other shoot a drop? Am I always waiting for more responsibilities to come my way? Am I always waiting to exceed to the next level? And again, I think growth is a very important stepping stone. Growth and just constantly wanting to better yourself is an amazing quality. But give yourself some slack. I feel like if you are constantly just like next level, next level, next level, we don't take the time to really sit and celebrate, give yourself that privilege at least. Give yourself the moment to be like, I did that. You know, like at one point, I was celebrating getting 10,000 followers on TikTok. And then now I have 100,000. And I wasn't really celebrating. Like I wasn't, okay, I did celebrate 100,000. But you know what I mean? Like every milestone since then, I just wasn't like as excited as I was. Then when I first started and it's not because I'm ungrateful, but it's because I put this pressure on myself to constantly achieve more. And so I want you to think of your example in life. Maybe it's academically, maybe it's in your career, maybe it is in social settings. You feel like you always have to show up for a person, put them first before your own health, your own well-being. And that is so kind of you, right? I know sometimes these things come from a good place, but that doesn't mean that it will be better. Just because you're doing something that will make other people happier, doesn't mean it will make you happier. And so I want you all to recognize that being busy is not the same as being fulfilled. Being stretched then is not the same as being fulfilled. We are taught from day one that accomplishments, success, money, all of these things, these quantifiable things are the purpose or what we should be tracking. We see all over online everything about productivity, all about the grind, the hustle, being self-made, girlbos, whatever. You guys know, I love all those things. And they are so important and can be so beneficial. However, we are taught significantly less, almost not at all, about contentment, about presence, about gratitude. Imagine if as many times people were like, oh, you need to be go, go, go. They were like, no, you need to slow down. You need to breathe. You need to enjoy the moment. You need to refuel yourself and fulfill your soul. Imagine how much more beneficial that would be because the truth is we will never be able to fully enjoy where we are if our souls can't catch up to our bodies. My church group and I are reading this book called The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry and it's so good. I am going to do an entire podcast episode about this. And it's just about how much hurrying has destroyed our presence with ourselves, our presence with others, our presence with God and just the fact that we rush through the daily motions of life when it was never meant to be like this. It truly wasn't. And sometimes things that can be the biggest tool can also be the greatest weapon. And I think that it is something that is turning into something that's not the best for us all the time. And so when we hurry, it doesn't necessarily mean we're being productive. Doing more does not necessarily mean doing better. And so I want you to ask yourself, where am I cutting corners in my life? Where am I just going through the motions instead of actually feeling them? And the sad thing is this could be with things like social events, being with a friend. I got to a point in my life where I was so busy that every friend that I saw almost 90% of the time, it felt like yes, I was happy to see them. Don't get me wrong. But it felt like I was like squeezing it into my schedule and doing it because I felt an obligation to say yes. And so when I'm hanging out with them, I have like half a brain cell left because I'm so stretched then from work or partying or XYZ and filling up my social schedule too much. To the point where like I'm hardly even there with them. And now I notice and I've learned the hard way that if you take time to refill your energy, prioritize alone time as much as you prioritize work and accomplishments in your social schedule, you will be able to give so much more. But I promise you guys you cannot pour from an empty cup. If you are not taking the time to refill your own energy, if you're not taking your time to do things that make you feel full, what are you going to have to give to others? Literally nothing. So I need to recognize that being busy is not the same thing as being fulfilled. And I also need you to stop waiting for the next chapter constantly. I feel like I am now stuck in a zone where I like move into this new apartment and I'm like, oh well it's not going the way I planned. I almost found myself being like, this lease is just a year. Like maybe maybe next year, I'll find a better place. I'm like, girl, I wanted this place so bad and I'm already waiting for the next chapter. Or maybe you hit 10,000 followers and I'm like, hmm, I won't be happy. And so I'm be 50,000 followers. You get a good grade on a test and you're like, well, I won't be happy until I'm a valedictorian of the whole school. You keep giving yourself these thresholds to pass. And once you pass them, instead of acknowledging that you pass them, you just set another goal and you set another goal. And that is achieving it is. And I've always been that kind of person. But I realize now how empty it was. Like I would fill my plate. I wanted to stack my plate so high. But think about a full plate. If you're filling and stacking and stacking and stacking, eventually something's going to fall off. It's going to get heavy and it's going to break. So instead, take each little win and each celebration as it comes. You're filling your plate, right? Well, you have your mashed potatoes and you have your turkey on your plate. And maybe before you add dessert, you should stop and eat the mashed potatoes in the turkey and enjoy it and be present while you're eating it. And then once you finish it and you say, hmm, that was good. I'm grateful for that meal. Then you go get that well-earned dessert. You know what I'm saying? I go crazy with the analogies, you guys. You guys, if you have been listening to me for a long time, you know I love an analogy. And like, oh, we just make them up randomly on the spot. Like that hits with my brain, right? Because if you pile too much onto your plate, the food's going to get cold. All the food's going to get cold. But if you eat it one at a time, what do you know? But needless to say, we need to stop treating life like a constant waiting room. I'll be happy when I'm in my next relationship when I find a man when I lose weight, being weight, whatever it is, the subjective that you are chasing. You can't let something quantifiable define your happiness. Only you, your level of presence, your level of enjoyment, your level of gratitude for life can make you happy. But some external thing that you are chasing, some next chapter that you're waiting to come in and save the day, that's not going to fix anything. If you don't have the right set of eyes to look at it with, what I don't want for you is to spend your entire life waiting to live. And I feel like I was stuck in that. I was always in the preparation season. You know, oh, I want a relationship so bad. So I'm going to do everything I can to know a lot about relationships or wait around waiting for this guy or dress it certain ways. So maybe some guy likes me or notices me. And I'm preparing and I'm preparing and preparing and I'm doing a whole lot of waiting and not a lot of doing, not a lot of executing. I wanted to start my TikTok page. Okay. I did a whole lot of sitting in bed and just thinking about what it would be like to have my platform instead of actually posting. I did a lot of waiting room. I did a lot of, okay, one day when I'm ready and one day when everything's perfect, this is what I'm going to do. The truth is there's never a perfect moment. And so if you don't just seize the day and go execute whatever it is that you want, it's never going to happen. There's a quote that says, if we wait until we are ready, we will be waiting for the rest of our lives. And that one hits so hard for me because I've always been an analyzer like an overthinker. Like I want to know exactly how everything needs to go. For example, with this apartment, I spent so much time you guys analyzing the layout and the measurements of this room and making Pinterest boards exactly writing in my notes how every single thing will be in this room. And I was preparing so much in my mind, hyper fixating, per se. The point when move in day came in, I was not ready at all. I had nothing packed the morning of. My bed was not disassembled like nothing was ready because I spent so much time thinking of, oh, one day when everything's perfect, it's going to be like this. Instead of just being present and I didn't really get to enjoy the last moments of like slowly packing up and going through my old things and just being grateful for what my room and my old home did for me. Instead, it was like a whole sporadic thing because I just wasn't being present. I was so focused on the idea of what was coming that I wasn't focusing on actually physically getting ready for what's coming. And so a huge tip that I have to help avoid this is to romanticize what already exists. I have always struggled with being like, I can't romanticize my life until it's beautiful on its own. But romanticizing is not about making something beautiful. It's about finding it beautiful. And I feel like I'm finally starting to understand that even if something isn't the most Pinterest TikTok-esque aesthetic, it doesn't mean that you can't in your heart find it beautiful. Maybe it wouldn't be good for an Instagram post. That doesn't mean it's not going to be good for your soul. And I feel like again, finally understanding that. Like maybe one day you want to throw together a sandwich and you want to go sit by some pretty train tracks or with a pretty view on a roof or something like that. Like even if it doesn't look pretty or like it isn't belong on a Pinterest board, that doesn't mean that it's not going to make you feel good. And so I think start prioritizing not just what looks the most aesthetic, but what feels beautiful to you and what feels like it's filling your cup, you will notice a huge difference. And oftentimes you find to like instead of trying to curate the perfect life, doing everything you see on your Pinterest boards, on your Instagram feed, when you stop doing that and when you start focusing on what actually feels beautiful for you, you start curating like your own style, your own aesthetic, your own vibe. That is beautiful. That is so much more beautiful than anything that you could have replicated. Any idea you could have taken from TikTok, that is so much better because you feel something from it. This could be things like talking with animals, could be things like reading in a tree, even if it's an old tree, even if you're sitting in one patch of grass in the corner of your backyard, and it's all run down, like whatever makes you feel like you are just connecting in the present moment, and doing silly little things like that also really helps me feel connected to my inner child. Like running around and playing mermaids. No, that's not the most aesthetic, hot, sexy thing. No, but does it fill my soul and connect me with my inner child most definitely, and I feel great every single time after. Realizing that some of the best moments are the ordinary ones is just so fulfilling. Some of the dates that I've gone on with my boyfriend, for example, like I used to think that we had to do the most extravagant things. There's these flower fields in Karl's Bad, where everyone would go to it. It is just like the most Pinterest, especially like 2016 Instagram thing. Like everyone used to go there, and I love flowers, and I was like, "Oh my gosh, I need to go. I need to take pictures. We have to do the state." When we went, like I don't think we made any super substantial memories together, no offense, but you know some of my favorite dates? We had one day where me and my boyfriend just went to a park, an open grass field, and we just did like cartwheels and handstands and played around. It was just so fun. And doing things like that, those are the things you're gonna remember, those are the things that are gonna fill your soul. I'm like, no, I didn't get an Instagram picture out of it, but did that create one of my most favorite memories that we share? Yes, we're like, when we go and watch a sunset, opposed to going to a fancy five-star dinner restaurant, I truly do prefer those things. And so learning how to find joy in the ordinary instead of the things that are the most expensive or the most flashy, the most showy, the most attention drawing, you really don't need to be doing all that. If you do things for fulfillment, you also save money. I'm not gonna lie. You save money doing things like for true fulfillment, and I've wasted so much money doing things because everyone else is doing it. Like saying, oh, we need to go to this restaurant or eat here because everyone else is eating here. That will waste so much time, so much energy. You won't build any core memories usually because it's not your memory, it's someone else's. So next, I wanna talk about something that we can call protecting your margin. Margin is the space between. Lots of us these days, including me, I am so guilty of this. We tend to leave minimal to no margin in our schedules. Think about if you wrote everything down that you didn't today and think of how much space you are leaving in between tasks. You're going to work, you're going to the gym, you're going to dinner with a friend, you're going to drinks with a friend, you're going home and you're working some more, you're going to sleep immediately and the next day you wake up and you do the exact same thing again and then you have a birthday party and then you have another birthday party right after that then you have your work out class and you have all these things. I have lived so many days like this and in my head, I wanted to call it productive. But you know what it is? Draining, overstimulating, exhausting, overwhelming. That's what it is, but somehow along the way our brains have tricked us, that busy means productive and efficient. That exhausting means efficient, that the more we get done in a day, the better we will feel, but I'm not going to lie. Sometimes when I do less than a day, I feel significantly better and there's a line to draw here, okay? Because yes, having a lazy do nothing day, good every once in a while, every single day, not so good because then you're not really living life either, you're letting it pass you by. So there is a balance here, but when you're going back, to back, to back, it's exhausting. Like I feel like I'm starting to get to a place now where I can actually enjoy my weekends, but I used to not look forward to the weekends at all because they were so jam packed. They were so filled to the brim that there was no room for error. I would be going from thing to thing, driving it immediately from next event to the next event. I was changing in my car, doing all these crazy things because I wanted to show up. I felt like I had to show up. I felt like I had to say yes to everything, but now when you rewire it, and I'm just kind of like, okay, what is going to fill my cup? Not what's gonna make the best Instagram pictures? Where am I gonna meet the most people I can make connections with? I don't ask those questions anymore, however, I most definitely did subconsciously in the past. Think like what would benefit me the most, either socially, career wise, social media wise. And now I finally am in a place where I'm like, no, what is going to make me feel full? Not what's gonna benefit me status wise, but what is going to benefit me in my heart, in my soul and my mind. And that is when you can finally, I feel like feel good, turning people away, turning plans away, and saying like that's not for me. And realizing that you don't have to always be a yes person, you don't always have to be a people pleaser, is so healing and it opens up a whole new realm of possibilities because that's when you will finally get the time alone with yourself. I do have an entire episode about how to stop being a people pleaser for anyone who feels like they have to say yes, have to constantly show up, have to constantly stretch themselves so thin, but others before themselves that is not the way we are meant to live. We are called to rest, we are called to be still. And I feel like you are like going against the grain of life every single time that you are hurrying, every single time that you are spreading yourself so thin, every single time that you are filling your schedule, so much the point where if you miscalculate one minute, if you run behind from one event, the whole thing's thrown off, we aren't really supposed to be living like that. And like the weekend, think of the Sabbath, like that's all about rest, but we've turned it into stress. And I don't like that for us. And I really, really am excited to dive into the next episode. I do what I do want about the book that I'm reading because it is so good about not hurrying. I just want to find like a quick part of it. I'm going to read a short part of the book that I just want to share with you guys, but I'm going to share more in the next episode, but it's so good. A century ago, the less you worked, the more status you had. Now it's flipped, the more you sit around and relax, the less status you have. Jumping forward a bit, Sunday evolved from a day of rest and worship to a day to buy more crap we don't need, run errands, eat out, or just get a jumpstart on our work for the week ahead. Our culture never even slowed down long enough to ask, what will this new pace of life do to our souls? Another part says we stopped listening to our bodies and started rising when our alarms drove their oppressive siren. Not what our bodies were done resting. We became more efficient, yes, but also more machine, less human like. There's so much about this book. I cannot wait to just fully dive in and do an episode on this because I truly do love it so much. But we leave no room to breathe in our everyday lives. Like, when was the last time on a regular busy day? You took a second to just be like, wait, let me check in with myself. How am I doing right now? How am I feeling? Have I drank water? Have I eaten? Is there anything I'm anxious about? Is there anything I should journal about? Is there anyone I should reach out to for help? We never do this anymore. I literally set an alarm on my phone now, a little reminder alert that says self-checkin. I need to get better about doing this, but when my self-check reminder goes off, my goal is to then go into my notes app and maybe do a little journal entry or answer some questions for myself. The ones I just said, how am I feeling? Is there anything I need? Am I close to a breaking point? Have I slowed down yet today? Have I drank water? Have I taken deep breaths? All of these things that we just have gotten completely used to neglecting because we treat ourselves like machines instead of humans. And so I want to talk about the fact that it is okay to not optimize every single hour of your day because if you have a little bit of empty space, that empty space will either turn into rest or into creativity and both rest and creativity are productive. I need you to clear out out of your mind the fact that rest is not productive. Now, doom's rolling and better on it, don't give me wrong. Those are not productive, but to actually rest, to read a book, to go on a walk outside, to get fresh air, to just breathe and be alone, to pray and reflect and meditate, that is extremely productive. And I think all of those things should go first because you cannot pour from an empty cup like I said and your cup will be empty if you do not take time to be alone with yourself. A busy life has less room to breathe, but a beautiful life is all about breathing. Learning that a busy life is not better than a beautiful one will set you so free. Something a lot of people don't realize is infinitely more beneficial to you, is to invest more time, energy and money into your experiences than your appearances. Think of how much time and effort you have put into worrying about what you're gonna wear, if your hair looks right, think of how many moments that we've wasted, if you could have just been spending that living, going and doing excursions, memories with friends, going to the beach, just being present in the moment, alone practicing gratitude with yourself, praying, reading something you love, watching something you love, that would be so much more beneficial and fulfilling to you. If you didn't just worry about all the wrong things. And so I want you to stop and ask yourself, what would my life look like if it were measured more by memories than accomplishments, more by feelings, than looks and appearances? And so a huge aspect of this is to learn how to build a life that you don't feel like you constantly need to escape from. You don't feel exhausted living it, but you feel more complete doing these little things. So instead of feeling like you constantly need to escape to a vacation or a substance or social excursion or need validation, instead of finding something from the exterior to make you feel whole, you start looking within. What can I change? What can I create now? Creating beautiful routines for myself, healthy habits, practicing gratitude, prayer, things that you can implement in your everyday life to romanticize, to feel beautiful, not just look beautiful, instead of things that are going to just be so far removed. Right? We might feel good and refreshed from a vacation, but we don't get to do that all the time. Like I want your mission to be to feel like you are living a vacation, living your dream life, living your Pinterest board every single day. It's the point where you don't need to escape. Yes, we deserve a change of scenery, a fun little trip, a fun little adventure, but we don't need those things. So really making your mission to this summer, especially Romanticizer life, become a tourist in your own town, feel like you are on vacation every single day, because we truly are blessed to be alive and breathing and out. And so make the most of that finding work you enjoy, hobbies you enjoy, relationships that make you feel whole and not completely stressed out is huge. Friendships that fuel you, environments that make you feel like you are in a safe space and not that you're constantly in survival mode, creating even your room as your own little sanctuary, just making it feel like a really protected sacred thing for you almost where your routines, your habits, your alone time with yourself, how you spend it in your space. Those things should take priority because those are the things that are going to make sure that you have a full cup to pour from. And so I want you guys to remember that your dream life isn't just something that you're building for your future. It is something that you are building for you now, the current version of yourself in the present. It's not the trophy or the millions of dollars years from now. It's the walk in nature today. It's the moment to breathe. It's the journal entry. It's the prayer that you say today. It is your favorite coffee shop that you're going to take yourself to at the end of the week. But don't make the mistake that everyone else makes and be so busy creating a beautiful life for yourself that you forget to actually live it because I have been there. I have done it. I have focused so hard on curating the most perfect life for myself. I could ever dream up. It's the point where then you have those things that you once wanted so badly that you don't even have a second to be grateful and be present in the moment. So that's my encouragement to you guys. Just really focus on being joyful, delighting in the day-to-day life instead of the things that are just so far away. Yes, it's good to keep wanting to achieve and accomplish things, but also slow down and enjoy where you are right now because I promise you are going to blink and it's over. And don't forget to check out my becoming her planner. It is the exact system that I use every month and week. It has intentional prompts for each year and each month and I love it so much. So if you want to focus on just being more intentional, grateful, noticing the little things in life opposed to just filling your schedule, but actually making sure that you are allotting specific time and moments in your day, week and month to focus on what really matters. The things that are deeper than just how busy your schedule is because I know it can get so easy to be carried away by those things. But I highly recommend a becoming her planner. This is what keeps me grounded. This is what keeps me on earth so that even when I'm filling the most jam-packed schedule if it's a busy month or year or week, I still have those prompts to remind me, okay, what are my true intentions for this week? How do I actually want to grow? How do I want to show up for others? How do I want to show up for myself? All these amazing things are in this planner. So definitely recommend.
