how i write advertorial landing pages that make me $1.3m/mo only using AI (prompts included)

In the video, Mark explains how to write effective advertorials using AI while avoiding common pitfalls. He emphasizes that simply asking AI to rewrite a competitor's swipe is a terrible strategy because it lacks research into the product, audience, and offer. Instead, he presents a 5-step process for success. First, use AI to conduct deep research on the product and market. Second, build four foundational documents: a research doc, an avatar sheet (detailing the target customer), an offer brief (outlining the funnel and copy ingredients), and a document of necessary beliefs the prospect must hold to buy. These documents ensure AI consistently produces high-quality copy. Third, find a successful competitor’s advertorial and use it as a swipe for structure and style. Fourth, have AI write the advertorial in chunks (e.g., first half, then second half) to bypass token limitations and maintain quality. Fifth, “chief” the copy—review and refine it before launching. Mark demonstrates the process using ChatGPT, uploading PDFs of the product’s sales page and competitor swipes, and guiding the AI through each step. He stresses that the quality of AI output is directly proportional to the quality of inputs, and that treating AI as a junior copywriter through conversation and feedback yields the best results.

How to Write Advertorials with AI: Avoiding Common Mistakes Hey, guys, Mark here in this video, I'm going to show you how to write a full advertorial completely from scratch using AI. Now, what most people do, which is a terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible idea is number 1 is they find some swipe right, they find somebody else that's running an advertorial and then they go over to, you know, good old trusty chat CPT or over to Claude, you know, chat CPT is disappear, but that's a whole other thing. And they basically say, hey, rewrite this book for my company. And this overall is an absolutely terrible way to ever write a successful advertorial because you're not doing any of your research around your product, your audience, your offered nothing physically say hey, tattoo PT, write this, make me a millionaire, make it print. I don't want anything else to do with this. And you know, as I said, that's a terrible strategy. And so in this video, I'm going to show you the real strategy that you should be following, which is much more extensive. But once you do all the hard work, it's very, very easy for you to replicate avatarials using AI really, really quickly. If you don't know what an avatarial is, looks a little something like this where you're basically selling to somebody using a combination of an ad and an editorial. So it feels like it was written by a third party or somebody that's completely impartial, completely unbiased, but in reality, you're selling your product throughout the entire landing page. So I actually have a full swipe file. I'll leave it in the description of this video that you guys can check out of all hundreds of just really, really successful avatarials, but that's not the purpose of this video. The purpose of this video is to show you the new best way for you to actually write in an avatarial completely from scratch. The Correct 5-Step Strategy for AI Advertorials Now, since we're not using this old process, the real process that we're going to follow is actually really, really simple. First, you're going to be doing your research. Now, this is not something that you're going to be doing yourself. We're going to use AI to do this. Once you have your research, step number 2 is you're going to build what I call your foundational doc. Now, your foundational docs is basically a set of three or four different documents that you put together that you constantly feed into AI. And if they have these four documents, AI is always, always, always, always, always going to spit out just phenomenal, high quality coffee that is based off of the research that you did prior. This is the step that most people skip, and as a result, they're never able to write a tutorial that actually converts. Step #3 is you are going to find a successful competitor and swipe them for your own rewriting process. Step #4 is you're actually going to have AI write the full advatorial. And then step #5 of course, one of the most important steps, again, probably second most important, is to chief. OK, so chiefing, it's a process of reviewing your copy and make sure that it's actually ready to be put out into the wild so that you can spend some money on it, make some money back in return. So let's go ahead and get right into it. Creating Core AI Documents: Research, Avatar, Offer, Beliefs You know, no long winded intro or anything. What I did is I pulled together this full document here. I'm not lying to you guys. I tell you this, you could give the most sub 50 IQ individual this document and they would still be able to put out a really, really high quality advertorial. This is the best SOP I think I may have ever created in my life. So we're literally going to follow this step by step, right? And the first step, like I said, is research. So we're going to copy this prompt and head over to ChatGPT. And by the way, I said this briefly in the intro, but I really believe that ChatGPT is superior to Claude. I actually call ChatGPT Chad GBT because Claude tries to be so PC with everything and they don't end up getting as deep into the research as I really want them to. Plus, we're going to use an additional feature in ChatGPT that Claude that I'm going to show you in just one second. So all you have to do here is take out this little section right here where it says explain what you're selling to and who. In this case, I'm going to take this actual product right here and I'm basically going to write an advertorial for this product. I'm going to go ahead and copy this right here and add a little line in the AI that kind of explains actually what we're selling here. Now, very important before I hit send on this, what I'm going to do is I'm going to go to the brand that I'm writing for. In this case, I'm going to go over to web page to PDF and I'm going to convert their entire sales page into a PDF and upload it. So chat CPT has a little bit of context about the brand that you're running for this, your own brand, Just upload any content that you have. It could be PDF, your sales page, PDF of your existing avatarial. Just give it as much information as possible on the product itself. So I'm going to go ahead and download this and then we're going to upload it right into chat CPT and hit enter. And by the way, make sure that you guys are using chat CPT 4.5. I've been doing a lot of experimenting recently with AI and 4.5 honestly is significantly better than four OA lot of the updates are just like marginal improvements, but this one I really feel is significantly better than the previous model. Now, after we've hit these prompts, a lot of times it's going to give you, you know, this full analysis, which is fantastic. We actually don't care about that. We really only care about the finished product right now, and I'm really just priming chassis BT to be able to put out the best quality copy as humanly possible. Now I'm going to copy prompt #2 here, go over to chassis BT, paste it in. I'm also going to paste 2 documents about how to properly conduct copyright and research. I have these LinkedIn the document right here and here. Typically they're giving the shit away for freeze. So I uploaded these two docs going to hit enter and wait till it finishes the announcement. Next up, we're going to move on to prompt #3 so I'm going to copy this here from the doc, paste it over here, and once again, just fill out this one line here that actually explains the product that we're going to be selling. Now, this prompt is very, very important because basically what I'm telling it to do is create a prompt for itself. So it's kind of like AI inception. I'm creating an AI to do AI research, and what we're doing here is basically creating a prompt for it to use the deep research feature right here on ChatGPT. So I could write my own prompt no problem, but why when I could use AI to write the prompt for me? So as soon as I hit enter on this particular prompt, that's going to sit out a full prompt that I'm literally going to copy and paste directly back into Chachi, but make sure I have Dee research selected. O, let's hit enter on this prompt. All right, so we've finished the full prompt here. So I just copied that entire prompt that it gave me right here and literally just pasted it right back. And so let me scroll to the top here. No work necessary here. Like AI just wrote, this entire prompt is very, very good. Just make sure you have deep research selected and I'm going to hit enter. Now, when you go through this process, typically the AI will ask you a few clarifying questions. Yep, there it goes right here. So you just have to quickly answer those and then it's going to go through the deep research process. So for this particular example, I'm going to say yes. We are specifically US based for #2 I'm going to say all price ranges and #3 I'm going to say yes. And after this, I literally hit enter, and it's going to begin the deep research process. Now, depending on your product, your market, etcetera, this is typically going to take anywhere from 8 to 20 minutes. So I'm going to step away for a second. I'm going to let Chachi Boutique cook, and I'll be right back. All right, so it took about 11 minutes. And as you can see here, Oh my goodness gracious, look at all this beautiful, beautiful, beautiful research that just goes on for so long. So what you want to do now is you're going to copy this entire message, paste it into a new doc, download that document as a PDF because that's going to be 1 of of your foundational documents that you create. As I said here in this process, there is a set of foundational docs that you need. OK, one is going to be the research doc all right. And at this point you have that done. This is the most difficult part, which is ironically also the easiest part because AI just did all of it for you. Now we go back to the doc and we are going to move on to the next foundational document, which is going to be our avatar sheet template. I'm going to copy this prompt here go over here and again I have links all these documents guys in this one mega document that I created this one here. So if you need the avatar sheet template, just go ahead and download that there. Now we're going to paste this document with the template downloaded also as a PDF. If you don't know how to download these, by the way, if you just go to file download, you can select the PDF right there. We've got the avatar sheet doc uploaded. We're going to hit enter and keep cooking. Now what it's going to do here is fill out based off the research, all of the specific details around the avatar that you currently want to sell to. All right, So what we're doing now is building the second foundational doc, which is going to be our avatar sheet. This is such gold. It's even just watching this AI cook right in front of me. It is so, so good. It may just look at like some of these quotes for this particular product, right? I need a solution now before another freezing winter hits. I'm desperate to stop throwing money away on inefficient heating. Finding a safe cost that heater is a priority. I can't afford another huge build. Like I literally can't afford another huge build. That is a massive pain that we're going to be able to tap into with the copy on this advertorial. So same process. We're going to copy all of this right here, paste it right into another document called Avatar sheet, download it as a PDF, save it for later. Next, we're going to move on to the third foundational document. So let's go ahead and copy this going to paste it right in here and attach the offer brief template. So this is going to be the third foundational doc. This is all about the actual offer itself. So what is the funnel architecture that we want to use? What is the level of consciousness we want to speak to? What is the stage of awareness, stage of sophistication? All that unique mechanism, everything, all the copy ingredients that you want to put together to actually create a good VSL. This is why most people that just like paste in a swipe and say, hey, Chad, do you rewrite this? This is where they S up. They don't actually understand the deep underlying principles behind high converting copy. They just blindly swipe and hope that it makes them familiar. It's a terrible, terrible strategy. So here with the offer document, we paste a prompt in there. We're going to upload the offer doc, upload that right there, wait for it to upload and just hit enter. Now it's going to fill out same exact process, but it's going to fill out everything regarding the offer itself. This is so fucking good. Like I can't stop saying it bro but this is so insane. I like to think that I'm smart, that I came up with this, but really, this is all this is all AI doing this shit, man, it's incredible. All right, same process here. The offer brief is done. We're going to copy all of this information here. If you want to add more information to these documents, guys, you're more than welcome to. The quality of the output that you get from AI is directly proportional to the quality of inputs that you feed it. So for the people that are like Chapp, GBT doesn't write good copy, Claude doesn't write good copy. No, you just suck at prompting it. I'm going to save it to another document right now and save it as APDF, save it for later. Now we're going to head back to the document and going to work on our final foundational document. Now you don't need to understand what all that text is. I know you guys see, it's like, oh, it's a lot. Really what we're doing is creating this final foundational document, which is the necessary beliefs that your prospect needs to have in order to actually buy your product. I believe that marketing at its core is simply a game of belief change. Prospects are coming into your business, into your website, into your funnel with a specific set of beliefs because we always act in accordance with our own beliefs. Your job is simply to shift those beliefs into empowering beliefs instead of limiting beliefs so that they will actually purchase your product necessary. So I'm literally going to take all of this prompt right here. Don't worry about the text. It's basically just going to analyze this transcript. We're going to paste it directly and nothing needs to change and have it analyze this transcript real quick. While that is cooking, let's go ahead and go to prompt 4. We're going to copy this and note you have to attach the avatar sheet, the offer brief, and the research document they already had created. So we're going to copy all of this and then attach those other 3 foundational documents that we have already created previously. So I'm going to paste this here and I'm going to upload the three additional documents as this is going. Another thing that I do guys, just to speed up the process, I literally hit enter on ChatGPT on the prompt and I immediately move on to the next one because again, we're not specifically looking for the output yet because we have not written an advertorial yet. We're really just doing the research. We're building up the foundation. That's why I call them foundational documents because if you have them, you only have to do this once. As soon as you have it, you're going to upload these documents in the future and let it just start printing really, really good copy. Whether that's BSL, whether that's ads, whether it's ad tutorials, anything landing page copy, you can do it all. So the short of this prompt is I want you to create these beliefs at a maximum of 6 beliefs that if they have every single one of these beliefs that they will positively buy our product. So then we know the only thing that we have to do at that stage is simply make sure that our copy aligns with those six necessary beliefs that they have to have in order to buy the product. And our job is done. So let's go ahead and and hit enter and it's going to go through and create those six necessary beliefs. So same process as before, guys. We're literally going to copy all of these beliefs right here, going to paste them into a new doc, save it and download it as APDF. And let's move on to the next step. Consolidating AI Knowledge and Finding a Successful Swipe OK, so the next step is going to be prompt #5 in which case we're literally just going to refresh its memory and now send all the documents together and have them analyze each individual documents that they're completely top of line for the AI. If you really want to write good copy with ChatGPT, don't think of it as as an AI, think of it as your junior copywriter. If you want to guide it, you want to have a conversation, give it feedback, critique it. So I'm going to upload these four documents right here. At this point, all of our foundational documents have been created. We have the research doc, the avatar doc, the offer brief, and the necessary beliefs document. So I just uploaded all those here. Let's go ahead and hit send. And again, this is really just to refresh its memory on all the research that is done prior, all the hard work. The next step in this process is going to be to find a swipe. Now, like I said earlier, you can check the link in the description, have a full swipe file already created on Get Hooked. You guys can go and see all the advertorials there. For simplicity purposes, what I'm going to do is just use this advertorial for this product that's already running and just say like, you know, this one is running successfully currently. So I'm just going to take this URL and follow the same process that we did before and do the URL to PDF. Go ahead and convert it and I'm going to download that so I can send it as the swipe. I'm going to upload that swiped PDF of the avatar that we want to emulate. Then the next step, we're going to go back to our trusty document here and move on to the swipe section. All right, so we're going to copy all of this right here and paste that entire prompt right into Chachi Boutique. By the way, as a little side note, I'm using this E product, this internal space heating product. This is not a product that I personally sell. And if you're wondering why, the reason why is because the main reason that I've seen from this research specifically that people are looking for this product is to save money. It's for affordability. Now, this product is definitely affordable. I'm going to hit send here while I rant for a little bit. This product is definitely affordable if you compare it to like your heating bill. However, typically audiences that are looking for the cheapest way to do things like I don't ever want to compete on price. I want to have the premium product in my market because it's going to match with premium marketing, premium messaging, premium copy. And so I don't really like selling to markets that are like looking for the cheapest way to do something. It's a race to the bottom. There's a reason why nobody is able to compete with Walmart and they're extremely low prices or same thing with Amazon, just the margins are ridiculously. I'd rather sell premium products to a premium audience. So now that we uploaded the swipe and Chachi has analyzed the swipe, this step is now completely done. Generating the Advertorial Copy in Chunks with AI So like the research step is done, Foundational docs created, swipe has been uploaded. Next we get to actually have some fun and start writing the advertorial. Now one thing that I noticed quick caveat is that when you're writing advertorials in any type of copy, honestly with chat TBT, you have to be very careful with how much copy you want it to write. If I tell it to write the entire advertorial start to finish, the quality of the output is going to be very low because it's limited with the number of tokens that I can send back to you. So for example, if there's an advertorial that's like 2000 words and you say, hey, like rewrite this based off all the foundational research that we did, it's only going to send you back like 1000 words. So I like to do it in chunks, either like first half, second-half, or by chunks of the actual avatarial inside of my document. Here I have it go first half to second-half. So we're gonna go to the right section. Now that we're on that step, I'm gonna copy this, go back to ChatGPT, paste it, and just fill in this information here. All right, And now that analysis has finished and I've filled in the info on this prompt, I'm gonna hit send. And now the fun actually begins where it's actually going to be riding the advertorial for you. Now keep in mind, I only told it to write the first half. So let's look at the first half. If it's good, we'll have it continue and finish the entire advertorial. If it needs tweaking, if we want to write to a different angle, then we'll take some time to readjust it. Again, it should be a conversation at this point, like all the hard work has been done. It's really just finding the perfect angle for your advertorial and making sure that it's being communicated properly. Another thing just cuz I'm really an annoying fuck is I don't like it when you go through the side view here. I always select answer and chat instead because in my opinion sometimes the outputs cut out cleaner. That could be totally biased but that's just my personal experience. Oh great, I broke it. There we go. All right, so it's in the process of writing this full avatarial. I'm already super excited because for those that don't know, here's the headline that I came up with right. I couldn't sleep at night, terrified about our heating bills. So I discovered this new device. So massive open loop here created, which is exactly what you want with an avatarial. I'm dying to read the rest of this thing. After reading the headline, I have one simple portable heater found if you're my family from the endless stress of skyrocketing energy costs. Pretty solid headline. But the crazy thing here is that this headline here is actually a swipe of one of the most successful headlines of all time, a really, really old direct response headline. I did not tell it to do this. So the fact that it did this is really fucking cool Sales that I'm talking about here is this headline here. They laughed when I sat down at the piano, but when I started to play, so look at this headline here. I couldn't sleep at night, terrifying until I discovered this new device. So it's like a very, very similar format here. I'm pretty happy with this first half, honestly, mostly just based off of the headline because the headline when it comes to split testing things, the headline polls like 90% of your entire advertorial. And so at this point, I could cross reference and start going back and forth with H EBT. Pretty happy with this. So I'm going to tell it to write the second-half. And while it's writing that second-half, I'm going to go ahead and copy the entire first half here and paste it into its own document. And it has finished the second-half of the advertorial. So same exact process, guys. I'm going to copy the second-half, paste it into my advertorial documents. So that at this point we should have like a fully finished, fully written advertorial. Reviewing and Optimizing Your AI-Generated Advertorial And what you're going to do is paste all into another document, same process right down that as a PDF and immediately upload it back to Chachi Boutique. Because at this point, we have it written, right? You can go back and forth, you can brainstorm new angles constantly. Like this is the step where you can really experiment. But next, we want to chief it and we can chief it ourselves, which we, you know, I always recommend that you do, but I'm going to have AI chief it first based off of the research that it did. Like, is this advertorial actually in alignment with the necessary beliefs? Is it actually in alignment with the research? Is that actually following the necessary copywriting principles that need to be followed in order for you to write really high converting copy? So I'm going to copy all this here, paste it into my document, download as APDF and immediately upload it right back. We're going to go over here and now we're going to go to the chiefing section of this document, right? So I'm going to copy all of this here and go ahead and paste it right in. Now, I said this earlier, but I want to reiterate when you are chiefing copy, you should have AI chief it, but you're not done. You still have to go through and cheep it yourself. And so my favorite cheeping process is pretty standard. I like to read through it and anytime I feel stuck, like there's not a completely natural flow and there's some illogical organization of the words, that's going to be something that I actually personally adjust. All right, there is a famous copywriter, can't remember his name currently, but he said that your copy should basically be like your prospect is sliding down a slippery slide like a grease stuffed slide. So if there's any point in your where it feels like there's a bump in the slide and it just doesn't feel natural, that's really the goal of the chiefing process. We can identify those points where it's not flowing super, super well because that's going to be something that ends up costing you conversion. So now this is actually a step that you want to read the output that AI has given you. So let's take a look at the the chiefing that it did here. So it does align with the emotional storytelling identification of the problem. So hit the necessary beliefs. I believe my current heating method is inefficient and costly. The unique mechanism is clearly presented. We pre handled objections like a lot of people think that objections are something that's only covered like an FAQ section. No, ideally there's no objections. Ideally you cover and handle all the objections before they even get to the sales page of your offer. So this is really, really good leveraging external Blaine and villains. So this is like from the competitor analysis that it did previously. The risk reversal is there, which is going to help with the affordability aspect, also in alignment with our levels of consciousness and stages of sophistication. And then also gives a few areas for you to potentially improve, especially like the conspiracy angle, because with this one, it's like the heating companies are like trying to keep you broke or like trying to always keep increasing your bill, etcetera, etcetera. So that could be an entire new angle that you dive into. This is called the whistleblower angle where there was like somebody on the inside, quote UN quote, that was able to escape and is now trying to tell the truth to the world. That's a really powerful angle that you can use the avatars as well. Overall, everything is pretty in line. You can see that it's in line with avatar research, with the offer brief, with the necessary beliefs, with the levels of consciousness, everything that you could possibly need. And at this point, you have completed the process. The Full AI Advertorial Process: Fast & Effective I added a bonus here on the document, which is basically how to create advertorials with additional angles, but it's really in this process right here. So after you go through and write it, now you can actually have a conversation with AI the entire time. But that's basically it for this video, guys. I mean, at this point, you know exactly how to conduct really effective copywriting reassures, you know how to create the foundational documents, you know how to find the swipe, you know how to write it, and you know how to cheat. So like you are basically 100% completed on writing an advertorial that took us like under an hour. To do the entire process, it's absolutely insane, like the capabilities of AI right now and this is something that we use actively in our business and something that improving every single day, but this is what we're actually doing right now if you.

Podcast Summary

Key Points:

  1. Most people fail with AI advertorials by simply asking AI to rewrite a competitor's swipe without doing any research or understanding their product, audience, or offer.
  2. The correct strategy involves a 5-step process
  3. Foundational documents (research doc, avatar sheet, offer brief, and necessary beliefs) are critical for consistently producing high-quality AI copy. Skipping this step is a common mistake.
  4. AI should be treated like a junior copywriter, guided with feedback and specific inputs, rather than being given vague instructions.
  5. When generating the advertorial, it's best to have AI write it in chunks (e.g., first half, second half) to avoid token limits and maintain output quality.

Summary:

Third, find a successful competitor’s advertorial and use it as a swipe for structure and style. , first half, then second half) to bypass token limitations and maintain quality.

FAQs

An advertorial blends an advertisement with an editorial, making it feel like it was written by an impartial third party while actually selling a product throughout the landing page.

The speaker finds 4.5 significantly better than 4o, noting its improvements are not just marginal but substantial for generating high-quality copy.

Use a 'web page to PDF' tool to convert the URL into a PDF, then upload that file directly into ChatGPT to provide context for the AI.

Treat the AI like a junior copywriter: give feedback, suggest a different angle, and have a conversation to refine the output before moving to the next chunk.

Requesting the full text often results in lower quality due to token limits; writing in chunks (e.g., first half, second half) allows for iterative feedback and adjustments.

It involves having ChatGPT create a prompt for itself to use the deep research feature, so the AI writes the research query instead of you, saving time and improving depth.
