How Chiefs Can Bounce Back, Eagles Letdown, Are the Vikings Legit & Worst Taco Bell Item | Ep 208

The podcast features a lively discussion on recent NFL games, focusing on the Chiefs’ first loss to Seattle due to offensive inefficiency and a strong defensive effort, and the Eagles’ frustrating defeat to the Cowboys, marked by defensive breakdowns despite solid early offense. The hosts highlight the importance of team accountability and resilience after setbacks, emphasizing that individual stats are less impactful than collective performance. A standout moment is a hilarious pregame segment where Pat McAFee and Steve attempt to catch a punt from a "jugs machine," showcasing the hosts’ comedic energy. The conversation also touches on the emotional and strategic challenges of playing without a starting quarterback, noting how such injuries can disrupt team dynamics but also open opportunities for new players. The episode promotes The Farmer’s Dog as the NFL’s official pet food and Xfinity Cyber Secure for enhanced home network security. Additionally, a fun tailgate event is announced with activities like mayo eating and inflatable bungee races, promoting fan engagement. The hosts explore sumo wrestling training, celebrating its rigorous physical discipline and the transferable skills—like mobility and technique—that could benefit football players, especially in offensive line and defensive play. Throughout, the tone remains upbeat, blending sports analysis with humor and personal anecdotes, underscoring a deep connection to the community and shared experiences.

Brandon, do you have any idea? Do you know what big boys is? Well, we have a big boy in California, but it's Bob's big boy Which I think is actually the one that reference Nonsense powers What Bob is big boy. I think is the Austin powers reference. It's the little guy holding the burger, right? Yeah, yeah, I think that's like God. Yeah, it is But that's the guy that's out in front of every one of them. What is this? It is like the same big boy. Go to ever so you don't know what frisches is. No, I've never heard of frisches Frisches is like a that's the one that you're talking about about Travis. Yeah, frishes big boy. Did a bunch of people just take the same mascot and make it their own? I guess. I'm so confused. You know that like a baronstein, baronstein bears thing? Like I feel like that's what's happening to me right now with big boy. They're probably just franchising them and whoever the guy was that was fucking own enough just. Yeah, that's probably exactly what happened. They probably started opening these big boys all over the country and then they the the top cut cut out from bottom and all the ones that had a little bit of legs to stand on created their own version of big boy. That this big boy sitting on front. So that became Bob's big boy and then fucking whoever's big boy. We're gonna piece it together. You can find all your big boys at bigboys.com. It should just link to a picture of Bo Allen. I mean, if Bo had the same haircut as Elvis then it would be essentially the same person. He is a big overalls guy. He is covered overalls, but he's definitely rocking some overalls. No, no doubt. I do have an update on on big boys.com. Oh God. And I need your guys as permission to spend a little money. Just don't know how much is a cost. How much is a cost? Big boys.com is $200,000. Are you fucking kidding me? That is what the New Heights research team is is relaying to me. It is $200,000. I'd hold on or so. We are a solutions based team. We can have big boy. Yeah, I'm org. a thousand yen. Will they accept the head? No. No. Big boys.org is only $1,500. Now we're that's more in the price range right now. Boys and give the same order. I mean big boys.com is definitely big boys.org doesn't seem like a big boy. Big boys.com feels like a big boy's website. Okay. 200,000. That's what I've got. I got my Travis Kelsey platinum AMX here. I will swipe it. Swiping if you give them that then yeah. Swipe this on the internet. Yeah. He's good for it. Big boys.com. AMX must be for the low price of $200,000. You too can go bankrupt with big boys. I can't do even get to new news yet. No. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know how I segue to that. I needed that. I like we said last week the New Heights tailgate presented by Stofers is back and coming to Philadelphia on November 8th. It'll be at state side live. That's where we were this week from Monday night countdown. It is free to the public. No tickets needed. There will be free food, game, merch, DJ, photo wall, and much more for you all of the United Super Centers that ended up showing up. Obviously before a another big in division game. Giants versus Eagles. JJ McCarthy balling out a little bit. We'll get to that a little bit later. We did ask 90% for some suggestions on what to do at the tailgate and at Bayley 4047 said hobby horse. I'm not a bad, not a bad gig. I'm not going to lie. I think Eagles fans, I think Eagles phase would ask them fun with this. Do we do it? Like hobby, forcing. Do they have to dress up? Maybe not dress up like a question, but no, no, no, but like instead of being a horse, follow me. Follow me. Instead of it being a horse, should it be an eagle head? Like you're like you're flying on an eagle. Am I getting way to? I mean, no, I hear you. I don't make it more festive and a part of the Eagles culture. Yeah, I can see that. That hobby horse thing would have been good for the Cowboys game, tailgate. Do. I'm kind of in on hobby horse. It's a great idea. At Lost Items found a mayo eating contest. I mean, on this as well, I'm in on the mayo eating contest. What's the difference between mayo eating and anything like a pie eating? Well, the difference is that it's disgusting and it'll make everybody go, oh, oh, while they're watching people eat globs of mayonnaise. Oh, god. Yeah, I mean, if the point is to see people throw up, yeah, that one at Sooner's Tigers inflatable bungee. What the fuck is inflatable bungee? The inflatable bungee race where you are racing one verse one, but the bungee pulls the other person. Oh, yeah. I've seen these. Oh, so it's almost like tug of war kind of type thing, right? It's the other it's you got two lanes. I think I think it's got two lanes and both try and get to like the flag first and the bungee is like the rope is basically like pulling you back. Have you never seen this? Is it like attached to the other person? It's like an inflatable deal. And this is not I need to see it to get a good visualization visualization on this. Maybe granny could pull it up on. No, he's too busy. He's putting up Halloween decorations. There it is. He sees it. Yes, I know what we're talking about now. Not a bad idea. Aunt Lilly figured out how to get the cheese ball pit there. The cheese ball pit broke. Unfortunately at the live event down the shore for beer bowl. So the cheese ball pit doesn't exist anymore. Shout out to Uts. So I probably can't do that. At Nathan something something something I can't really read it. These things these things are something that Travis would be all on board with. I would fuck some people up with those things. I mean, it's pretty safe to it. It looks like. Yeah, just got to pick your knees up when you get fucked because yeah, yeah, yeah. All right. Well, I like I like the physicality of some of these things. I definitely like the Mayo eating competition. Well, for additional info on the tailgate, check out our out of the house page on the Kelsey clubhouse. That's right. Yes, sir. Friend of the show, Prince William was on the Graham Norton show and joke that he tried to move Travis Kelsey out of the photo. He took at the airs tour in 2024. You took a kiss seat Taylor Swift at Wembley as well. No gorgeous lady. And she had a picture with you and your family backstage. Now, are you aware of the significance of this picture? So I wasn't until recently. I hadn't appreciated the significance and actually I was trying to move him out the photo. Travis kept coming back in. I couldn't work out why he kept coming back in. I was trying to move him out so it's just me and Taylor and the children. So this was when they went photo-official. Apparently, yeah. Yeah, they'd never been seen to be. Yes. I know. I get it, man. I think we all get it very understandable. I was just a boyfriend at that point. You know, I wasn't a I wasn't her husband yet. You know, we don't really know this is gonna last. So it's kind of just move out of the way real quick. So we can keep this photo forever. Yeah, hopefully this doesn't go south otherwise this photo is not going to be a shot. Shout out to Prince William, man. Well, Prince William, don't worry. We had the new Heights graphic team. Take care of this for you. Oh, let's see it. Let's see it. There we go. It's so good. I got to ship that to him. Just send it to Buckingham Palace. You think it'll get to him? I think if you forward it, like if you put out Buckingham Palace and attention to Prince William, I think it'll get there. It all gets to him, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. For sure. Last thing Jason, do you want to plug your sumo video that you just dropped? I was just watching Instagram and God damn it. That shit is so fucking good. It is up on YouTube. It's one of the Kelsey versus things on my YouTube channel. I get to try and do certain things and listen, I've always wanted to try sumo wrestling. Stout used to show an undersized sumo wrestler to the group and he was an undersized guy. I think it's like Taco Niyama Shintado. He was like 220 pounds doing sumo, but he was a judo champion and a wrestler. And he knew how to use like his feet and two 20 bro, he was whooping the fuck out of like 300 400 pound guys. He's one of the highest level sumo wrestlers in the world at one point. It's very impressive to watch him. It was really stout was emphasizing how proper technique and fundamentals and things like that can help you achieve even against bigger opponents, more powerful opponents. But ever since watching as it did, I've always wanted to do sumo. There's a way to try this out and we got in contact with my man Zorrig and he is a professional sumo or was it professional sumo wrestler? He and two other guys were very kind to lend their time. We got to train like a sumo, eat like a sumo, live like a sumo and then at the end of it we got to assume a wrestler. I got three matches against each of them trying to win one if I could and do you gonna watch the video? I don't know. Fuck yeah, dude. I'm fucking locked this out of this. You were the diaper. It's called a mowashi. It's not called a diaper. The one thing that's evident when you watch it on TV or in clips is like you can tell how like culturally I'm trying to think of like you know traditional and like this is something that's been around for a very long time. So there's a lot of, it's the word I'm looking for, rituals and things that are specific to the sport that honor the past of it and honor the people that have done it or did do it in the past and are doing it now. The way they train it was ridiculous like you know so they the I think it's Shatuk is the thing they do at the beginning you know in the raising like each leg so they'll do like a thousand of those a day not messing they'll do like a thousand just like lifting both those legs up so like and then they'll go do the rest of the workout like the highest level of this. There's the amount of training and that is there. Their cartilage has to be gone. Well, what it is one thing that I didn't understand is like the sport is like I I mean, when you do a match, it's maybe three seconds. Like, if that, but all the training is like thousands of these shittucks, like a bunch of just bodyweight squats. And like, these guys are conditioning, like they're running a marathon. Like I could not keep up, I legitimately could not keep up. That was a little bit surprising 'cause you would think similar to like a football player, only having to go for three seconds. You'd be much more training a different style of nervous system, but in actually talking to some of the guys, that was some of the things that are interesting of like, where the sports science of SUMO is changing and evolving. Like, we like to think that football was one of the late adopters because there's an old school nature to the sport. Well, SUMO is like, football's like not even close to that nature that it is for SUMO. Like these guys have been training like this for like thousands of years and to get like coaches to be like, okay, we're gonna erase thousands of years of what made sense back then, you know what I mean? Like it's, it was very cool to see all of the things that go into, you know, how these guys train and what they do to some of the sports. Yeah, that was another thing that was very interesting in doing the training was that there are, there is actually some applicable things to like, run blocking and offensive line play. And even just the way they do the squat and mobility, like drills, I feel like actually doing some of that mobility stuff and cross-training that into offensive lineman in the off season would do guys a lot of good. 'Cause these guys can bend, man, they get down so low that have great hip mobility, great ankle flexion, Zorick's ankle flexion was fucking insane. And then also, dude, this dude just, the first rep I did was Zorick, we go, I put my hands down and we, and he told me like, you're supposed to leave with your hat and hands, right? Again, very similar to football, like, hat and hands, tripod, like boom, right? But you don't do this in sumo, you kind of stay in it. Anyways, dude, my shoulder immediately afterwards, I look at it and it is just bruised already. Like black and blue. And Zorick's like, is your shoulder okay? And I was like, is your head okay? You just ran your fucking dome directly into my fucking AC joint. How are you doing, buddy? - Without a concussion-proofed ride-down helmet. - Wasn't even fazed. He said when he was training, when he was a young sumo, him and another dude, bonked heads and his fucking head split open and the coach made him continue to train. Like, he wasn't even allowed to sit it out. - I see that's what I'm saying, man. - I know we're missing that kind of town. - It's off in America, man. - I know, I know, you're right, you're right, you're right. - Well, that was awesome. I can't wait to watch this on YouTube, man. - It was incredible. Yeah, everybody involved with it, Andrew, who kind of helps run this. I don't even know if it's a league or whatever these guys are a part of, but each he was a grand champion at one point. At one point, he was one of nine sumo wrestlers worldwide that had won the essentially like the US Open of sumo wrestling in Japan. And I got the best way. He used to be over 500 pounds. I think right now he said he's like, he's in retirement. - Oh, five hundred. - He's in retirement, he's 460 now. - How's he move, is he just slow? - He's retired, he's retired. I mean, he's not. - So each, everybody kind of has their own style. Like some guys like Zorig, he's like a ram, dude. He comes out of the gate. I'll send you a video of Zorig. Dude, he comes out with a great lean and great power. Each, the bigger you are, the more they just kind of try and belly you up and grab you. 'Cause once they grab you, there's nothing you can do. They get their hands on your Mawashi, you're fucking toast. - We gotta get thinner Mawashi's. Are there like, you remember Michael Bennett? Michael Bennett, we get the smallest pads ever. And you could, you could barely get your hand on him. And then it's like, oh shit, if I can't grab some pads, how the fuck am I blocking this guy? Am I staying in front of him? - They're for sure is a science to like, tying the Mawashi so that it's so tight that it's hard to grab. That's definitely part of it. My Mawashi was cotton. I think the higher level guys use like silk or something like that. - Yeah. - Hands just right off of it. - Dude, I was, I was chafing, brother. (laughing) Dude, are you kidding me? - Hard, great cotton. - Down to three, yeah, yeah. - And that's it for new news, brought to you by The Farmer's Dog, the official pet food of the NFL. - Thank you to our presenting sponsor, Xfinity. All right, now let's get it in some bold topics brought to you by Pepsi. Get into this week in the NFL. All right, bold topics brought to you by Pepsi. And first, starting off, chiefs three. CX-20, try out first loss of the season. You guys have been rolling this year. Obviously went up to Seattle to face Kenneth Walker's former team. And yeah, they got the best you guys. What are your thoughts on the game, brother? - Ah, man. Another frustrating performance for the offense. I think obviously you didn't even get a chance to get into the red zone. They, it felt like they were playing pre-vent the entire time. It just let the front four cause havoc in the run game and get out of the pocket. You know, hats off to them. They came ready to play. Sunday night up in Seattle, that place was rocking. The 12s were loud and it was a pretty frustrating game from the jump. I had another drive killer in the first fucking drive and got caught in motion. Not knowing that the running back came up to the line with Pat and just got to get set. That killed that drive and we were rolling, man. We were rolling the first drive and that kind of stalled us from there. It was just, you know, bad techniques, bad fundamentals. Just okay effort. There was a lot of things that we got to, you know, the attention to detail and I say this because that's what I see out of my cell phone film. You know, didn't play our best, but I can only speak on what I can do better and you know, I'll only tell my side of the story in terms of what I need to be doing to get better. So as a unit, we got to play better together which is making sure that we're all being accountable in every single aspect of the game. You know, if it's the backside of a route being ready and on time, if it's, you know, the cold route that we're trying to get open being on time and being where you need to be, releasing the right way and attacking the defense the right way, making the read easy for Pat to get the ball out on time so that the offensive line doesn't have to strain for more than what they typically do. It's frustrating because we were rolling as a unit for a while there and I think we're not far off from getting right back to it. We have an unbelievable, you know, group of guys. on the offensive side. And I think a lot of it is just coming in with the right mentality and a togetherness that we're not going to be denied. And I think we need to just learn from this, feel how it felt to get our tail kicked like that and never let it happen again. I hear you, brother. I mean, listen, you guys have been growing all season long. And we played against a really good team this week, who also played a fantastic game. Like, got to give them credit and-- No, 100%, 100%. But at the same time, we still feel that if we play our best and we play our brand of football-- Of course. --and not let a team dictate the tempo of the game like that. I think we're better off. I'll say that. As you said, the offense struggled in Seattle. Fewest points held to only three. Fewest red zone drives. Zero second, fewest yards with 213. Yeah, the second fewest yards and any of actually one-- the 153 games started by Patrick Wahon. This is a crazy stat. Yeah, man, Mike McDonald knows what he's doing. And they got great players over there. Like you said, they'll play a shell, they'll play this kind of pre-vent style. Well, if you're going to do that, you've got to win up front. You've got to be able to stop the run. A lot of that is, yes, some schematic things. And I think that they do really well-- He was doing some blitzes at the right time. Yep. But it's also about having guys like Leonard Williams and having these pieces like Eman Worry, who's playing in and out of that slot position. Like, he's got to be committed to the run game and also be doing a great job in the passing realm as well. They have great pieces to do what they want personally. I mean, curious what you think. But I always didn't mind running. Just like, oh, hey, if it's two high safeties, you run the ball. If it's one high safety, you throw the ball. It's not that simple. Some run plays, I like more out of a single high. You can get some really good angles. Some run plays, I don't like out of two high, but there's something that I do. A lot of it is really creating good angles in the run game from mate blocks and double teams. Having these guys be able to hang onto those longer and create push. I thought they did a great job of-- especially in the run game playing on your guy's side of the ball, right? Leonard Williams is a beast. Their edges did a great job of condensing the run lanes, backers, and everybody-- Like, they did a great job as a defense all around. And that's one of the things Mike McDonald does really well, whether it's playing two high, one high. He schemes things up, puts these guys in positions to play things pretty well. What do you think-- because you played against McDonald in Baltimore, now obviously in Seattle, what do you think about a Mike McDonald defense that causes teams to struggle? You know, I feel like every time I face McDonald, he stays true to his style, and he has the personnel to be able to execute how he wants to. And you said it right there, he's going to want to keep everything in front of him in terms of the back end of things. But he's always got an unbelievable dealine that just makes it tough to get to the second level on your double teams and really forces you to be great on the back side of runs, where it's typically the ball ends up coming back to that gap. Looking at the tape, it frustrates me because it definitely felt like there were ways to attack it that we could have taken advantage of. Right. And if we get the opportunity to play him again, I'm sure we'll have it geared up and be fired up and ready to go. But looking at it right now, they just kind of got us, man. And it wasn't just that scheme. Those guys were flying the fuck around. They played very well together. They were all on the same fucking page in terms of the gap assignments and things like that. There were very little mistakes. And the mistakes that they were making, we didn't capitalize on it. And it's just, it's frustrating as hell. Because I thought we came out in the second half when we had a little bit more of juice and motor. And we still just couldn't find a way to get the ball past like the 30, 40 yard line. It was just, we had to kind of like dink and dunk. And they forced us to be good on fourth down. I mean, third downs and essentially fourth downs as well. So as frustrating as it felt when you watch the film, the eye in the sky doesn't lie, man. You see where you could have won the game. You see why you lost the game and you learn from it. And I think we got enough guys in this building to look at each other in the mirror and look at each other in the face and know exactly how to hold each other accountable. So and that's the mentality moving forward. Yeah, I know I already mentioned Leonard Williams, but we talked a little bit about like, they like to keep everything in front of them. I really believe people don't realize how much having a great three technique drives the ability to play like two high safeties. If that three techniques getting rolled off the ball, you are fucked. And if you look at all the best defenses, I mean, keep going back like a big common denominator of them is having a great three time. I mean, you take away maybe like what they're doing in Minnesota where they're blitz and 80% of the time. If you're put a play with two high safeties and you're going to play with the light box, it don't matter whether you're Tampa Bay Buccaneers with Warren Sap, what you guys have done in the past. Obviously with Chris Jones or we've done with Fletcher Cox or Janet Carter, like there's a common denominator of great defensive tackle play allowing you to do stuff like that. And I really think Leonard Williams is a huge piece of this. And they have other great, again, Eman Worry, Ernest Jones, like they have great players littered throughout that defense. But I'm a huge fan of watching those guys play and I definitely hated playing against Leonard because the big cat can go and he's a really good, he makes a difference, no doubt about it. Well, next week you guys have Denver. Obviously coming off of the first game of the year and Arrowhead, this one will be in my Ohio. What did the chiefs need to do to get right before Sunday? Well, Denver's playing a lot fucking better than they did that first game. If they've caught a stride here and their offense is starting to put up a lot of points. They're getting back Cooper who is a huge part of that past rush and being stout in that run game. And you know, it's going to be another challenge. We're coming off of a game where we didn't perform well really on any phase. And it's got to fire you the fuck up and you got to have a nasty taste of your mouth when you lose. You can't be okay with, you know, being mediocre or looking around like I wasn't the reason. You got to fucking have a nasty and just a disgusting taste and fucking losing in this league and find the fucking, find the answers. And all that means is that you got to fucking go to work. And, you know, it started today. And I'll be damned if we go out there and fucking have another fucking showing like that again. I can promise you that. Yeah. We have a couple accolades of yours to shut out. You passed Tony Gonzalez for the most receiving yards in NFL history by Titan, including regular Ampo season. Congratulations, Travis. That's an enormous fucking record. Number one, Titan in NFL history. If you combine the playoffs into their stats, as far as passing receiving yards are concerned. You also passed Marvin Harrison and Chris Carter to move into fifth place for most receptions all time, which is insane. It's all, it's fun stuff, man. It's pretty cool. It's pretty cool stuff to be a part of that. We've said it over the past, you know, probably a year I've been in just the discussions of being, you know, top 10 in the receptions and, you know, top five in terms of yards and stuff like that. But it's all that shit is hoopla, man. If you're not winning football games, man, it's, that shit's pointless, man. Yeah. And it's such a team game. It's such a team game. The individual stuff is just, you know, it's cool to look at. But at the same time, if I don't have Andy Reed dialing these things up, I don't have great teammates holding each other accountable. You know, there's no success at all. So it's just a very appreciative of the situation I've been in and, you know, shout out to the guys that have done it before me, like a Tony Gonzalez and like a Marvin Harris and a Chris Carter that, you know, make it, make it, you know, that much more of an honor to be in the conversations with him. I love it, Triff. Love it. Hi. Wanna move on? Yeah, man, we'll see you guys out there at mile high this week, man, and you'll see a lot hungrier football team. Eagles 21 cowboys 38 little Monday night football. Jason was back in the link. Got to see his birds take on the cowboys. One of the biggest rivalries in the national football league and the history of the national football league had a lot of fun cut-ups, a Troy Ackman in his days against the Eagles during the broadcast. I fucking love those. Here in here, you guys talk to Troy on the desk before the game was absolutely electric to him talk about that rivalry and what it meant to him and just how tough it was playing against those Eagles teams in the late 80s and 90s, man. But moving on to this game, Eagles obviously banged up with a lot of injuries. Got a few guys back. And honestly, I thought it was a good showing throughout the first half and give me your thoughts on the game, brother. Well, listen, the first half. good showing from the offense. I mean, uh, move the ball very well for the majority of the half. They ran the ball really well. Selfishly, I mean, offensive line was playing great. Like I've, you've wanted to see this outside the first play of the game. Landon kind of got a little, uh, you know, happy to go help his teammate, lost the linebacker. They've had an issue and under center play action with the play actions with allowing a free runner off of blitz that happened the first play. But Tano's able to get it out to Saquon and they got a big little chunk play to start the, uh, to start the game. So it didn't matter. But outside of that, man, it was a pretty good game upfront. Yeah, there's a couple plays, but those guys played really well as a progress happening there, which is encouraging, uh, landing digger. So obviously back in the lineup. And, you know, listen, like Mark Hill Bell starting to look like, you know, um, the last three starts. He's put together some really solid tape. The first one out there gets put in a tough position. Also, other things happening, but gives up five or six pressures. Since then, I think he's only given up like one, maybe, maybe two. Like he's, he's playing a lot better. Ju Kendo back out there. Yeah, it was a much better showing up front for those guys. Saquon looked great until the, I mean, literally hurt his hamstring very early in the game. You could tell he re aggravated it when he's hurtling. You could tell it was he could the short stuff and the quick movements and the, and the getting through the hole was good. It was that it was the opening out of opening up. And yes, when you got to open up the gate is that and that's when the hammy really, yeah, really gets strained. But I mean, it really happened. He's a fucking dog and a warrior for fighting through it and trying to find a way to help the team out and everything. But the first big run he had, he had to kind of jump and hurdle, a kind of shoestring tackle. And he, uh, you could tell the way he landed it. He landed with a lot of weight and power on that main specifically. And from that moment, he was not running the same. So, um, you know, and he was a big part of the game. But I think we talked about it half time, at half time, he was in the game for eight plays in all eight plays. It was six carries and two receptions like they were. He was like the guy they wanted to be healthy for the game and they lost him early, thought to end up played a lot better. Obviously, at the end of the game, the pick and had a mistroke over the middle. Like it wasn't the second half he'd want. But he played much better throughout the game had some really good throws, especially big time third down throws that I thought extended drives. Um, he should be really happy. Mankind lemon. Dude, I, he was a tough motherfucker yesterday overshown. I mean, hit him hard as fuck two or three times one time for a time. That motherfucker looks out right back up. Like it was, I was very pleased with the way of a kind of lemon and his toughness in the way he played the game yesterday as a receiver. Again, offensively. You're missing Devonte Smith. You missing. I'll tell you in which, you know, it, you a lot loose Sequan Barclays affecting this early. Jalen hurts us out of the game. For them to go and play that way against a admittedly a bad Dallas Cowboys defense. I still was, I'd be lying if I say I wasn't happy with how the offense performed, especially in the first half. And even into the second half, if it wouldn't have got out of hand, I think the offense would have played a little bit better. Uh, the big negative from the game from my perspective. She said defense played really bad. And yeah, Dallas is a great offense. But the one thing I've been optimistic about what the Eagles is like, yeah, the offense is bad. But like defensively, I still feel like Vic Fangio and these, this personnel is going to figure it out. They're a great defense. And if they're playing well, the games will be close. All the offense that has to do is just kind of get to be mediocre to above average. And we can have a good football team, a really good football team. Take care of the ball and put up some points. Yeah. This was a really bad game. And, you know, um, Dallas is good offensively. Dack is a great player. They have good receivers. They ran the fucking ball and controlled the line of scrimmage up and down the field all game long. And we have a great interior deline between Jordan Davis, a Jomo, Chandler Carter, great linebacker with Zach Bond. Like, I did not anticipate that happening. Even though Dallas has a good interior align themselves, Tyler Smith is one of the best rum blockers. Yeah. You know, Booker can also block very well from the right guard position. You know, Javante Williams running through tackles, missed tackles, dragging guys for four or five extra yards. He was 150 on the ground. It was, it was a frustrating performance from the defense. And before this game, they had been on the field the fourth most of any defense in the NFL. Part of that is because the offense just been so bad at getting, you know, sustaining drives. Bad. Been a lot of third and long situations. So the defense just on the field longer. And that wears on you. And their fourth quarter, you could see the stat difference between the first two and first three quarters. And then the fourth quarter for the Eagles defense. And then the fourth quarter was a huge upticking points. And you could tell they were just getting worn down. I was optimistic if the offense put together a better performance. The defense would play better and it just didn't happen. Yeah. And to be fair, there were a lot of fucking plays being made over there. The pickens touchdown was insane. Absolutely unbelievable catch. Obviously, CD lamb to play man to man on him all game long is that's a tough task for fucking anybody. Well, they're playing like man to man, but they also were playing like, yeah, it was, you know, how it is now like a zone, but it's match. So kind of man is its own like because what they were doing, I thought really well in the red zone in particular is they were lining up CD or pickens in the slot to get Makuba or Cooper to get reek in these guys in a quinion off of them, you know what I mean? Now, even when teams are in man, like they don't, they try to hide whether it's zone man, what it is. So they're not going to put the corner inside and lock him on the extra receiver, right? They're going to try and still keep you guessing offensively. And they got into some favorable matchups, you know what I mean? Like, that's kind of what you give up a bad performance from the defense. They've now had two bad games really in particular. The Chicago game in this one, their stats, because of these two games alone, make them look like a pretty bad defense. I still think they have good players really good. Yeah, they fucking. And Vic Fangio, if there's one thing I've seen from him, is his ability to adapt as a season goes, right? There's been like two or three seasons now where the start the season, the defense has kind of been a little sluggish. They have games like this. And then it settles in. I'm still optimistic that Vic, you know, Clint hurt all these guys on the defense side of the ball can figure out how to get this defense running and being more effective, especially as the season goes. Needless to say, a frustrating game as an Eagles fan to watch that one. Well, let's get into something that was absolutely hysterical apart about of the game and then it was absolutely hilarious was the pregame stuff that you and old Pat McAfee got into. Given away two tickets, Jason, when I tell you, I knew what was coming. First of all, pay the pay for everybody. Jason and Pat were giving away or giving an opportunity for somebody to win two free Super Bowl tickets. And in this, it was a they had to catch a punt from a jugs machine, which is hard. That's the thing. So insane to ask someone to do and also insane to try and get Stanford Steve to fucking pinpoint that goddamn thing. Dude, I felt so bad for Steve. He's like all getting fucking word over the radio. Hey, that was 20 yards long. Hey, that was 20 yards short. He's over there fucking with the dial trying to get that thing. Dude, it was absolutely hilarious. Shout out to Steve. But then they did the slow cut in to who was catching this ball. I forget her name. I did shout out to Marquetta. Marquetta, if you were a fucking champ, you put the helmet in his shoulder pads. I had the gloves. And when Pat asked her, have you ever, what was it played sports? Are you caught a football or anything? The first thing he asked her was how old she was bro. Marquetta, awesome. She was at best five two. She was tiny. I thought it was a child when they zoomed in and I was like, bro, is this like, can we do this? Pat was like, how old are you, Marquetta? I was like, I'm 29 and we're like, okay, perfect. All right. That's good. Tell for it, okay, you're die hard, evil smell. Absolutely. Okay, so when you, this is a lecture, dude. Somebody else to catch it for you for these super bowl tickets. You said, yeah, right, let me do it. Can you tell me a little bit? I've never played football or any other sports. I used to prefer football with my stepdad when I was younger. I got this in the fucking bag. That is the most legit pun ever. This is like an NFL side pun. Now we're all Steve. Steve, Steve, Steve, Steve, Steve, Steve, Steve, Steve, Steve, Steve, Steve, great, Hillin. Oh, no, no, no, I'm still at this top. (laughs) - Oh my God, dude, absolutely electric. - Absolutely electric. - Go and I'll tell you what, we're going to the Super Bowl. - Oh my gosh, absolutely electric, man. - It was so good. That's a few pieces in Swag. It was kind of spearheading it, so it was Pat. Like everybody was kind of all in on doing something like this and having to be fun with it. And obviously Pat does the kick on game day, which just doesn't, I mean, there's a kid that just wants like what, $3 million kick on the whole. - Yeah, no, that thing's getting, that's getting absolutely incredible. And it's fucking iconic. It's, you know, you're seeing it every week. I fucking, look, I watch it every single time. It comes by my phone, knowing I'm either in meetings or on a fucking plane somewhere. - Well, Pat's so good on the mic, like interacting with those kids. And like obviously, like with, with Marquita, oh my God, dude. Yeah, we here, we were interviewing Jerry. Pat was giving me shit for this, we're interviewing Jerry. Like Pat's, he's so good around the field. And Pat just asked Jerry Jones if he wants to do an interview. And Jerry's like, oh, yeah, sure. I'm like, are we fucking, we're just about the interview. Jerry Jones, I hell, here we are. - And Pat asked him a question. And he's like, Jason, go ahead. And I'm like, Jerry, so what do you think about you? Obviously, this game needs a lot to fill it out. I was like, I'm sorry. It's Pat afterwards, like, it looked like your brain like did like a freeze there. What? - I was like, yeah, I thought this was all you. - Yeah, I didn't know you all was gonna do anything. So good. That's so good. So Jerry on Landman. (laughing) We both brought that up too. That monologue in Landman will, it's like you can say what you want about Jerry and like, criticize him as an owner, whatever. That Landman monologue and what he represents, that was pretty fucking awesome. Even as an Eagles fan, fuck that. That was great. - I hope we get to see more of that, man. That shit was electric. And honestly, whoever brought this idea up, it's one of the most, it doesn't matter who gets the opportunity. If you fuck, it's the most electrifying thing you can put somebody that is not in sports, in a moment. And just make it all about like, the kick is perfect on, what do you call it? College game day is perfect for that. But to receive a punt, I mean, I can't even count how many times we did that in college where at the end of a practice, we'd have a big guy go out there and try and catch a punt. Somebody who isn't used to it. One of the managers or one of the equipment guys, one of the trainers get out there. - Dude, I dropped the first one. If you haven't done it, it is not easy. - Yeah, I mean, listen, I think it's coming down like a fucking missile of 57 yard kids. - Well, and you're surrounded by all these people. I'm like, I don't know where the fuck I'm about to run into somebody, but yeah, it was not easy. - Yeah, maybe we need to get Jets Jake instead of getting a yard. Maybe we just need to nuke some fucking, some puns at you, Jake, and see if you see if you're athletic enough to even catch the ball. - Instead of the T-shirt cannon at the New Heights tailgate, just get a jugs machine and launch T-shirts on a jugs machine out of it. (laughs) jugs machines are great. - Yeah. - Really just anything with the word jug attached is usually pretty good. (laughs) - Okay, listen, I'm in on that. (laughs) Before we get out of the eagles, how difficult is it? Then this isn't necessarily me asking this question, but I am curious. How hard is it to keep a team locked in when the starting QB is out for the season? And Jason, you've had different instances where you've had a quarterback come in and it gets really frustrating then had a quarterback come in and you go win the Super Bowl. - That's right. Well, that's what I was about to say. I've been a part of it working out really good. Obviously with Nick Folls. To me, obviously the starting quarterback ends up being the leader, the orchestrator, the guy running the show offensively. So it's a major loss. And I don't want to understate that aspect of it. Like it is incredibly. - It hits you the hardest in the field. - It hits you the hardest as a unit emotionally and also as a player in what they can do and what their strengths are and what you do as an offense. It's the most impactful of anybody getting injured. That being said though, like, your teammates with all these guys and you're excited genuinely as a teammate when another guy gets an opportunity. Like I remember when Nate Sunfield would come in the game like, fuck, hey, we're about to roll with Nick. - Let's go, baby. - Let's go, Sunny. Let's show what you got. And then of course, I fucking got a low snap right back to him, fumble. And I'm like, goddamn, everybody hates Sunny, but that was 100% on me. And you know, it's, again, like you're obviously, you're feeling for the guy that is down the starter and the guy that means a lot to your organization, everything. At the same time, you're excited for other guys when they get their opportunities as a teammate and you want to go out there and ball out. Now what's hard is in necessarily that aspect. They've had five losses in a row. That's when it gets hard to keep things on rail and keep it together. And it's not even just the players. It's like everything, man. 'Cause everybody starts questioning everything and you should, 'cause you're losing games, but it takes, you know, this is where great coaches, leaders, this is where you get tested as a ball club and how you weather this, you know what I mean? How you keep everything together and focused on the stuff that matters and not getting out of touch with the bullshit happening in the media and people saying stuff and all the things that don't really make any two fucks of a difference with how good of a football team we are. That's where you gotta be locked in. And you roll with the guys that are out there, you miss the guys that aren't. You're excited for guys to get an opportunity, even if it's not, you know, the best situation for your team. So that's how I've always felt about it. I don't know, how do you feel? I mean-- - Yeah, last year was the same exact thing. I was obviously, you know, losing pat my homes, you know, best quarterback in the fucking league. I think that's something you can never fucking ever replace. - Right. - And, you know, having Chris Oleduken come in after Garner went down really quick, I think it was like first or second drive, he got banged up and-- - Right, yeah. - And then-- - And then Chris too. - What about, what about, Henry? What about Chad, Henry? - Chad, a hand dog came in. He, it wasn't a complete, like, take over the season, but-- - It's a finishing game. - It's a finishing playoff game. - A few times, a few times in the playhouse. Actually, happened twice in the playoffs. Anything is possible, baby. Chad, the chat had-- - Hey, hey, hey. - It's my dog. You know, I've had a few. I've actually had little tricky nick foes out there stepping up and coming in and winning us a few ball games when he was here in Kansas City. So, you know, it's, it's like you said, you gotta, you gotta just rally round him, man. - Yeah. - How long has the Mormon missle been in Philly? - Oh, man, Tanner's been in there since the ester bowl? - Because I know they moved on from Andy Dalton, but I wasn't sure if that was somebody they went out and picked up. - I think he was drafted my last year. I think this is the last year and is Ricky D. I think this is fourth year. - I'll tell you what, man, he's not playing terrible football, you know, he's, there's a few throws. I'm sure he won it back and a few opportunities that he wishes he would have capitalized on, but he's not playing a bad football. - The first game of the year, you could tell, he's a little bit like Rusty and everything. The first, his first game. This week he was great in the first half and he played, he'd still had some good throws in the second half, but there was a couple of misses and whatnot, it wasn't a bad game. He didn't, you know, Tanya played fine. I think that he's going to keep hopefully getting better as this stretch keeps going. You know, you get the point. - It's like that last game. - You get Octavian Wix? There's a great play, right? - He's a fucking hell of a play. - Yeah, now, you know, shit, again, there might have been another throw there. I don't know, I don't know how to evaluate that as well as other people do. And he missed a, a, a, an in-breaker before that, that was wide open, that he just hit like kind of, like almost a nose dive. - Yeah, like kind of like, yeah. But outside of that, you know, Tanya played a pretty good game, I thought. Really the whole offense. I mean, the second half again, they just, they keep kind of stalling out in the second half of these games. They were, I think, the last place in second half points per game or something like that coming into the game at five points, something ended up only getting seven in the second half against Dallas. So, you know, they're, they're going to have to find a way to clean up these second halves and not stalling out as an offense and finishing them. - Well, back to the draw on board, baby. Who you guys got next week? - Got the commanders next week. Jay and Daniel was playing a lot better. Why, they almost came back and beat San Francisco, which was a shocker because they were getting their ass whipped in the, in the first half. That game wasn't even a game. And then all of a sudden, freaking, they stormed it back. And there again, all the NFC teams are now hungry 'cause all these guys need these wins bad. It's been a bad start to the season. All the coaches are under questions and scrutiny, Dan Quinn. I mean, I don't know if there's a person, I'm a bigger fan of the Dan Quinn. I love that guy. It seems like as an individual and the way he talks about his players and like what he personifies as a head coach. But at the same time, they're going through it right now. - Yeah. - And so is the Philadelphia Eagles, right? And so was Dallas, Dallas needed that one bad. So it's going to be a very physical game. I would bet it's in Washington this time around. You know, Philadelphia is going to have, I mean, I guess, say one's probably, I don't know. I don't want to lead into injury discussions 'cause I got no fucking idea. But you know, the defense is going to have to go, I'm sure Vic is going to have these guys freaking, same thing the offense has been going through. the defense is going to be going through it this week and all throughout trying to get it corrected, trying to make sure that the, you know, the defense align is getting home, getting pressure on the quarterback. I mean, that was back there just fucking. He had way too much time, had no pressure throughout the rest of the whole game, right? And he's too good of a quarterback and most NFL two quarterbacks are too good. If you just give him that kind of time, they will pick you apart. Thank you to our partner Pepsi penalties were everywhere this week, but we're not just watching the field. We're reviewing film from tailgates everywhere to make sure you're avoiding flavor files. In some cases, we're seeing incredible spreads, wings, nachos, burgers coming off the grill, but no Pepsi zero sugar anywhere in sight. Yeah, that's the equivalent of a goal on stand, but nobody showed up to play defense. No game day spread is complete without it that bold refreshing flavor makes every bite taste better. Suddenly your whole game day just leveled up. It's like watching your team flawlessly execute a kick play on a game winning two point conversion. Grab a fresh Pepsi zero sugar and elevate your game day. Tailgating deserves Pepsi food deserves Pepsi. Grab a refreshing Pepsi zero sugar to elevate your game day. Thank you to our partner price picks brand and come on down. We need your help. Thank you, Jason. That was so sweet. I love to help you boys out. We are deep into football season every week. It's different, but price picks keeps all your picks in one place. You never miss a play. New users now it's time to lock it with price picks best offer yet when your first five dollar lineup and walk away with $150 in lineups. That's right. New users, just you, just the new guys, get $150 in lineups if you win your first five dollar lineup. And price picks also has your back when other apps don't. If your player goes down on the first half and doesn't come back, your lineup can still cash. They paid out over $31 million in green protection last season alone. That's looking out for you, the player. So we are on week eight of the season. If you know me, I'm always looking out for some offense. So here's the games I'm looking at to see players go off Jags, Colts. Look at the Jags. Let's keep going around the league here. Box Falcons might be a bit of a shootout. Bakers back, baby. Didn't have a great stat line last week, but they put up a lot of points just by running the rock. I'm also looking at Bengals Titans. That's not going to be the most fun game, but if you got those Bengals wide receivers, I kind of like the lineup there. Also, we've got the battle of so far this week. Rams, Chargers, can Chargers get that first win? Maybe theoretically, sure, possibly, but I look at the Rams. I'd look at the Rams. Rams are kind of run the rock a little bit better now. Rams offense kind of clicking. I would look at the Rams. Yeah, a lot of a lot of great games week eight, a lot of offenses might go off. You know where I'm looking. So back to you, download the app today and use code new heights to get $150 instantly in lineups. If you win your first $5 dollar lineup, let's code new heights to get $150 instantly in lineups. If you win your first $5 dollar lineup, price picks run your game. Let's get to the rest of the NFL, baby. Undefeated are down to just one. Obviously, the Vikings are the last standing lossless team in the NFL. Are we crazy? Are we crazy? Hell no. Not until they get a quarter. Listen, I think the Vikings are incredible, what Brian Flores is doing is unreal. The fact that they are undefeated, like I love what they're doing. There ain't no chance I'm buying the Vikings until they get more consistent, better play from the offense. I just don't eventually they're going to play good teams. They're going to force them to be a productive offense. And I have not seen that yet to date from Minnesota. Yeah, first ranked defense, uh, 27th ranked offense. Um, our offense is ever going to figure out Brian Flores' blitz, like frenzy. I mean, he's he's been doing it. Uh, so it's not like, I feel like just saying it's, you know, the, he's been doing a lot of this stuff for a couple of years now. And it's been successful. But teams have found ways to attack it. He's been very good this year. And he's, I mean, Chicago's offense and Ben Johnson, what they've done this year, they've been one of the most explosive putting up points, offenses in the NFL. I mean, I, they held them to what three points. Like their rolling as a unit, I just don't believe if you're going to be a legitimate contender in this league, you got to be playing well on both sides of the ball come to playoffs. And they are just like for how unreal they are on defense, then offense is going to hold them back when they played the bills. They play you guys, they play whoever, like it's going to be a problem, in my opinion, especially when you're playing really good quarterbacks. Now, if they start turning around offensively, like Kyler starts playing better, you know, whatever. But as of right now, I just don't see it. But yeah, but what Flores is doing the way he's able to fucking send these all-out pressures on first, second down, a lot of it is just building a six man front. So for a long time, the NFL, it was either a four man front or a five man front. It's like an under front in base or a bare front with five guys on the line of scrimmage or these Seattle teams and other four down nickel defenses. We have four down liners. There's certain runs you like to these fronts, right? A four down front, you're getting more double teams on the interior guys. You can drive those guys off the ball five man front, less double teams. But you can go laterally and attack the C gap between the tackle tight end. You pullers, there's less guys to react to that at the second level. So you start thinking of these defenses and families. And what do you like to do? Right. The year that the Rams went to the Super Bowl, Vic Fangio actually was doing it as well. When we played him in that playoff game that same season, this would have been 2019. Defense has started playing six one more in the regular part of the field. Six one used to be a go line defense, right? Like this is what you played in short yarded situations inside the five yard line, all gapped out to just make sure teams can't run it for an easy one or two yards. You're going to try and stop it at the line. Fangio was starting to do this in the regular part of the field. And we played a playoff game and he would hold back one of the D lineman and right as soon as we break the like about to break the huddle, he'd run him on the field. And I get out there and we have a run code on and all of a sudden they're in a six minute front. My bro, we can't run this fucking play this. Like this play, like we don't have any into block the outside backer. Like we're an 11 personnel. It was a fucking complete shit show. And when teams get into six one, it takes you out of a lot of your run place. And it forces you to kind of go to like outside zone to a tight end wing counter. Like there's not there's only so many things you have to that kind of structure that really is that appetizing in a run. And it's yeah, and it's like what you have in the game. If that surprises you. Yes, too. Yeah. That same year New England and the playoff game against the Rams, they were playing a ton of six one and it fucked up the Rams run game completely, right? They were not ready for it. And it was the exact same situation. And it was like a legendarily low scoring defensive or super performance. What I like about what Flores is doing is he's finding ways to get to six one without shelling out with like four big deep lineman and two big outside backer goal line defensive. They'll build it out of nickel. They'll build it out of freaking base. They'll build it out of whatever personnel they want. The corners will be the guys on the end of the line of scrimmage. And they find a way to also not be so as aggressive in that front that the back end is compromised. And then they'll build the six one front like fans you will do. And then they'll drop the edges out if it's not right. So you want to have some smart ball players you're doing that. You're doing all that shit. You got to have some fucking guys that understand you know the message behind the defense because a lot of the times defense is just listen. You guys set the edge. You guys create havoc in the middle. Everybody has a gap and we're going to simplify this thing. If you got some guys out there doing that shit. Yeah, that's that's going to be tough. Yeah, I mean, and it's working really well for them. And I'm a huge fan of like just how they get to six one, they'll blitz an inside back or spike a three technique, but you can see kind of what they're trying to accomplish and how they do it in a really smart way. How they don't get compromise themselves for explosive plays on the back end as a result of it. How they stall the run out create negatives. It's a very fun defense to watch play. And Flores is absolutely crushing it. Nice. Also lost to the Falcons. The other unbeaten, the other unbeaten team to lose this past week. Falcons are kind of rolling out. They had a little tough start down there with the floor or Stofansky, but they are rolling now. Pentax is starting to kind of settle in there, man. And obviously B. John Robertson, another fucking absolutely amazing running back. I mean, you get him in space and get him one on one with somebody. Man, he is not easy to bring down. Yeah, the Niners got banged up, man. The Niners are banged up. Obviously, Mike Evans was a huge part of the first five games, six games. You're talking about that. The commanders game where they came back, well, Mike Evans went out. Right. And I think that's a huge piece to open it up things in the middle for for their tight ends. Obviously, George and their run game is night and day different. When you when you have to, you know, account for everybody on the back end. So Niners up. a tough one against the Falcons, but just got to force Buckner. So probably going to be pretty stout on defense. Again, Dolphins got their first win against the Jets. Unfortunate for Judge Jake over there. Jake, what are your thoughts? What are your thoughts on Eric Glenn, Jake? He's got to go. He's got to go call for Eric Glenn's head. Wow. I mean, what a loyal soldier. Jets Jake is not good. No, like he had a well-deserved shot. I think a lot of people were calling for him. Maybe for a change. He had a well-deserved shot. He's already fired of it. He's O and eight against his division. Have you seen that stat that's been going around the. O and eight. O and eight against the AFC East. Tough man. And he the Jets have been outscored 107 to six the last two minutes of the first half during Eric Glenn's tenure. Like that's just a coaching thing. That's just coaching. He had your daughter undefeated as a Jets fan for the first time in the history of unborn babies since like the 90s. And he had a call for his head. He's a great memory. He had some great memories. And I loved him as a player. He's a great. He's a great jet. That's what makes this so hard. It's that. He's not. He's not the coach. We're back to the drawing board. Get an offensive minded head coach in the building this time. That's not a fan of the defense of mind to coaches. I just think we've tried that over and over and over and over and over again with the exception of Adam Gase. And besides that, we have to get to try like an offensive minded head coach. So that's that's my big plan to fix the Jets. Go get an offensive my day. I think you guys might want to focus on getting good players first and foremost. I think that would go a long way. They have good pieces like Omar Cooper looks like a good piece. Him and Garrett Wilson, the offensive line. They've got two good tackles. Like they've got good pieces. They just Jake, do you think you could catch a 57-yard punt from a judge from a jugs machine? Funny you asked this, Travis, because Brandon, I hit the jugs machine at Titan you. Okay. I think we have clips. I don't know that it's 57 miles an hour, but yeah, this is not the same at all. No, this is this is not the same. Also, I can tell just by this, there's not a fucking chance. Honestly, if you're going to catch it with your chess, I do think that this might be actually not even appropriate to like do if you're going to catch a punch. 50 feet in the air come down. If it hits your chest, I don't know if there's like a yes. I'm worried about the checker, but all wear pads. Okay. All right. All right. No, you better wear pads. We're actually not. She was full padded. I would do it in full pads. I bet I could catch if you gave me five shots and a punt, I bet I could get I snag at least two. No, I'll take that right now. I will take that bet right now. What are we betting? What are we betting? What are we betting, Jake? Well, now I'm way less. No, no, no, no, no, you say two out of five. You said two out of five. We'll think of something. We can settle this in Philadelphia in two weeks. I admire your confidence. Honey, well, the giants are first place in the NFC East. Cam scatiboo, do an unnecessary roughness penalty. I just don't get it, man. Well, I mean, I get it. I understand why they're calling it. I think it's the dumbest fucking thing in the world. And I hate that it's a penalty. I don't think this ended. It's like, let's show the play for people that aren't aware. Make the screen hand a schedule. Not as football. God, that's awesome. You boys at the crown of the helmet thing. I think you can't lower your head, the crown of your helmet, and you can't forcibly like attack the defender with the crown of your helmet. I think that's pretty much the gist of the way they want this official. But if he's just trying to lower his pads and accelerate, this is my thing. How are you supposed to? And this is for both sides of the ball here. I'm not saying this just because he's carrying the ball. I'm saying the same thing is if you're a defender trying to tackle, you know, and everybody was saying a lot of the hip drop tackle when I rolled my ankle a few weeks ago, I gotta fucking pick my goddamn feet up. That guy's got to get my ass down. I'm 260 pounds. Well, he's got a fucking find a way to get me on the fucking ground. It's the name of the game. I will say the head stuff is obviously different from the, the league. The league is continually trying to get these big helmet to helmet contacts out of the game. And this is a way, I also think one of the reasons I call this is just to have a version of this. That is for the offensive player, right? Because it is unfortunate that the defensive players are the ones that get hit with these fines constantly hitting receivers or quarterbacks or whoever with that crown other helmet or their hell out head to head hits. So my issue is, first of all, I don't think it's a penalty if a tackler goes in and just fucking lambace a ball carrier with a helmet. I haven't seen that. It is against a defenseless player. But if a guy has the ball, you guys are squared up a fuck, a lie back to come in and lower his head and fuck attack you as hard as he wants. And you should be able to because it's football because you're wearing a helmet. And that's what's supposed to protect you. I get the whole thing of like you shouldn't be able to use the helmet as a weapon. But I, I just disagree when you're a ball carrier, dude, if, if the running back hits the defensive player with the crown of his helmet and you get run over, that's the defensive guy's fault. Hit him in the fucking legs. Hit him like, what are we talking about? You're the one who told the, try to tackle him up top. I, what the fuck? I think it's a dumbass penalty. I think that the runner should have the ability to lower his shoulder and gain yardage. However, he wants. And if his head goes down with it, that's the way it should. I'm not a fan of the way this is called. I understand it's a penalty. And this is what they wanted, how they wanted officiated. I actually think he more just lowered his shoulders. I didn't think he actually lowered his head as much as I'm seeing. It was more of just his pads got low. And that's just kind of, it was more of he just ran the fucking dude over. And the guy was embarrassed and he lied there for a second. And the lead was like, Oh, we got a fine cam scataboo. That's the fucking dumbest goddamn thing I've ever seen. It's fucking stupid. Yeah. It sucks. I mean, and, and I would say that by saying it's not stupid about player safety, the NFL is trying their best to make the game safer. And most of these rules, I am in favor of because it has helped defenseless players. But some of this stuff, I think they've gone too far on. And a running back, in my opinion, should be able to lower his head and try and run for more yardage. I don't agree with this penalty. I don't. David, the player, if you get hit by a offensive players helmet, it's your fault. You see it coming. Hey, like it's blindsided. Yeah, you're not getting caught off guard with it. Fucking get lower than him or go in his legs. I have no problem with the with a linebacker lowering his head, the tackle of it's a player who sees them coming and the off of the player lowering his pads to attack that guy. I mean, I almost got fined multiple times by the NFL did. Most of them got rescinded of being a blocker going up in the hole and trying to drive a linebacker. And like, you can't leave your head. Well, how do I? I'm trying to dump. It's my job to get this guy up out of the hole. So I'm just going to run in and be squared up. So he can put his chest right through my fucking sternum. What the fuck are you talking about? Trediculous. It's crazy, man. Bad. I don't like that penalty either. It's a camp scatterboot. He said he isn't changing the style of running after being penalized today for lowering his helmet. Skataboo says he'll play for free if the fans keep coming in and points out that the NFL promotes those plays on social media accounts. Yeah. Of course. Cause this is fucking football, baby. This is what made everybody love football. I remember watching Mike Allstaff Lorenzo Nio guys run the ball like this for an entire career and loved every second of a Jeremy Shaki. Why would we want this out of the Jerome bad as why would we want this out of the league? How many times does a guy get concussed by a running back lowering his shoulder almost never? You just get fucking demoralized. It's like it's the equipment that he dumped on in the NBA. And we're just going to take it out of the game. It's fucking stupid. I tell Ryan Pagnetti to find the step. This is a great job. Okay. Ryan Pagnetti. I'll text him right now. We're going to text our senior correspondent of analytics, Ryan. Can you find out how many defensive players have been? Do you read like this. Can cost or injured from a running back lowering his head and running them the fuck over? Yeah. Nice. A la camscaraboo hit. I'll be shot. I mean, dude, I don't know how Pagnetti does it. He finds some of this shit out. I mean, I know he's using all sorts of like AI tools or whatever, I think, but it's it's insane that he's able to do this. Well, I can't wait to hear the I mean, he's probably going to tell me it's not possible. I'm gonna zoom if I was gonna say it's that's gonna take a lot of this seems like a lot of film footage. Yeah. Yeah That's if a bold topics brought you by Pepsi. I'm moving on to the bears. They had a Rare illegal forward handoff which leads to this week's note-on-question brought to you by Tyson Brandy Tony getting the the forward handoff. I gotta imagine they thought that Tony would be more lateral or behind him when that happened, but anyways, note-on-questions. Is this a rule? You were aware of before this play as your OC ever tried to implement a play that was illegal in its design Yeah, you never install a play that's illegal by design. I would be shocked if as Ben Johnson Spoken sense of this play happened about it I'd be shocked. I'd be shocked if they weren't trying to get Joe to pull And for the handoff to happen laterally and something just happened in the Procedure of it because you don't design plays that are illegal because they there's a good chance We're gonna get on that and everybody everybody that's designing plays knows What's legal and what's yeah, and also to this specific rule that you're asking of will you wear everyone? Also knows that you can't hand the ball off forward. Yes, that's not it. Everyone that plays football saw this and be like you can't do that. Yeah So now you can hand it off laterally and you can hand it up behind you, but no handing the ball forward is not Actually in jet sweep you actually see the guys no catch it and no Pop it also forward. Yes, well you can you can hand the ball forward to an eligible player. Oh, yeah, it's just like a pass. I'm an idiot. Yeah. Yeah Ineligible player. Yeah. Yeah. Good point. Which to everybody that doesn't know what eligible in eligible in eligible is There are five eligible receivers and five non-eligible players on Every offensive snap those five uneligible players are typically Offensive lineman the lions have been having some fun with that and penecile running routes, but every time and offensive lineman Becomes an eligible player he has to report that to the refs Which you'll see the refs notify him and everyone in the stadium that this player allowed Jason Kelsey 62 is eligible This play and they'll wipe their jersey and say he's eligible to give him the The sign brush the titties brush the tips. Why she's really the first time she's really starting to get it like First practice to the year you can tell she's like oh, I don't want to I hurt anybody. You're upset anybody like should I go get the ball or when I was like trying to get that competitive juice When as ever which each practice she's getting more and more confident about going and getting the ball and Realizing hey like they just took the ball from me. Okay. I can go take the ball from like you know what I mean It's you can see it's starting to click and she's coming into her own which has been a lot of fun to watch well you were saying you were It's getting your money's worth this week. Well, you went one place where you didn't get paid to go and you're getting recognized for the dues That uh that you gave to the university and then worked for the university. How was the uh induction to the university Cincinnati athletics hall of fame it was incredible um One just being back there for homecoming and seeing you know John goble Marcus Barnett but they're betting criteria like all these guys that The Dustin Grootse like I mean digger booge knock flow, you know it was Awesome just seeing a bunch of your former teammates They're either at the ceremony or they're during the week To enjoy being at homecoming for Cincinnati also the ceremony and to be in the class of them and like obviously Connor and I played together in Philadelphia for a long time played in Cincinnati for three years together to go into the hall of fame with Connor was awesome. Okay. Yeah obviously Bob Huggins is the big name like this is He was the reason that Cincinnati athletics got elevated to what it was in the late 80s and 90s like As a kid and Cleveland we didn't know anything about Cincinnati But we knew about Cincinnati basketball. Oh, yeah, we did and you know, I mean what what Bob was what huggy bear was building down there was Incredible and Infectious and you can see like that those types of basketball teams were the teams that we always loved like play hard as fuck Tough nose grinding games like everything you wanted to see in a basketball team, especially in college was what they played like and To see Nick Van Exel Kenyan Martin Steve Logan Tell us tell and tell stories about Huggins And who he was as a coach and how hard he was and how much he cussed out and pushed you But at the end of the day how much it came from a place of like wanting you to be the best player you could be and making them all great Was just awesome to listen to yeah Thoretta Blau high jumper Was apparently a fucking unreal beast Was cool to see her go in my kid at handsome awesome baseball stories christie Hoffman Women's soccer goalie Wayne Mason track and field mainly heardler Um, just to go in with like a bunch of incredible athletes that love their time and Cincinnati, um, help shape that athletics department into what it is today and to be honored like that from UC is was really special. Okay, man. Nah, God, dude. I um, I was, uh, it's an at the bit to try and be there and um, it was just cool to see is cool to see it from from afar. See you and Kai and, uh, obviously the rest of the class and um, seeing Huggins and Cincinnati gear again was pretty fucking awesome. From afar, it definitely uh, looked like an amazing, uh, amazing time. They just well deserved brother. Also saw Tony Pike. I gotta mention that out. Saw TP. TP. Yeah, baby. Um, and then Dan Horde was a guy that was, um, he's been the voice of Cincinnati for a long time. A long time. Um, the way he orchestrated that whole event, it was a Q&A. So it wasn't even like speeches like this dude basically ran a show and he fucking killed it. So it's best of the last man. Alrighty. Let's do a little top 10. What do you think, Travis? Let's get into new heights. Top 10. This week's top 10 is brought to you by Royal Caribbean. After some big plays, we're teaming up with them to blind rank our top 10 and crowned a legend of the week. Brandy. Come on in here, baby. Our brother brother. I don't know. I like that. This one. I like that. Oh, I don't mind on that. Oh, baby, brandy. Oh, okay. No, let's work it back a little bit. All right. It's like baby, uh, baby, Billy. I feel like I'm the uncle, baby, Billy, this group. If you got to get you some, some tinted, uh, fucking, I need those veneers. I need those big teeth and get tanned up. All right. You guys know the rules ranking one through 10 blind ranking. I don't know what's coming. You each get one veto. Let's star. Monday night football mentioned it earlier. The George pickings touched down. I mean, this fucking cash was nasty. What a ball, too, man. It's just, it's not much you can do about that. You're talking about the matchups and pickens this man. He's a highlight waiting to happen, man. The guy is crazy athletic. Look how he sneaks this right foot. This left foot. Left foot. Left foot. Oh, you know, it's funny to pickens had a couple catches. I think we do it the Steelers, where like he was kind of careless with his feet and they ended up being in completions, but they're incredible plays. This is good to see because like this is an insane amount of coordination and awareness of where you're at on the field on top of like just a beautiful throw from deck. I hate that I like this place so much in terms of like how good it is. Brandon, I know you're from Dallas and you rip the cowboys. Yeah, big cowboys guy over here. Yes, you know, it's got to be high. It's top three for sure. What do you think, Trevor? Sounds like three, like the number on his jersey right there. Oh, that's good. All right, we're going to go. I'm ranking them. I don't know what's coming up. I don't know. Are we staying in football? We might be we might be viewing off football this week. I don't know. All right. Well, let's find out. Yeah, we're going to go to Kindle Daniels with the game's annual interception against it. Yeah. Well, Papa, dude, this was and I believe wasn't Kindle Daniels, like carded off with a neck and card off the week prior. Yeah, dude, hell of a story for the young man. Absolutely. Great fucking pick too. This has been I mean, this like mugged up thing. This is definitely the flavor of the league right now. These linebackers that walk up on the line of scrimmage present an all out pressure and then either come or bail and the guys at bail man, it's so hard for the quarterback to see which guys are doing that. So hard. Awesome job. He played it perfect. It's it's tough, man. If you're pretty, you're just thinking that guy's coming from scoffery open and all of a sudden the six five long armed fucking from the A gap comes and just jumps out of nowhere. Fuck, and that's tough, dude. This is why they need that taco, the taco. Yeah, just have him do it every single time. Put him up there. This is a great. This is a solid. I would say four or five to me. Yeah, let's go five. Let's go five. Let's go five. Let's go five. All right, we're going to venture out of football. This was sent to me on Twitter by KC Ginger. I was hesitant to include it because I feel like it violates. It violates a highlight reel. But I wanted to show it. It is otters from the aquarium playing basketball. Oh shit. No way. That is a puppet. That is not a real fucking thing. It's real otters. This is hilarious. It's great. A lot of this count. It's not players. It's a highlight reel. I think if you just submit one of the dunks, it's in the top 10. So it works. It works. That's fucking hilarious, man. What do you think? Nine, 10? What do you want? Give it 10 just because it's fucking. I can watch that all day here. Otters, you're on the board. We've already talked about this play, but it is one of my favorite from the week. We're going to go back to scat pack with the truck stick. I mean, if we're keeping this as I mean, that's God, damn it. That's that's everybody that loves football saw that and was like, fuck yes. Yeah, it's like get you standing up. Immediately sent. I love the army crawl to like just like air crawls a psych. I'm going to fucking. I'll go for on this. What do you think? I'll keep it. I'll keep it right there. I love it. I think it's also just like it's a four because of the fact that they're trying to get this out of football. I just keep doing it as cam screw it. Keep doing it. Jason will pay the fine. We're going to move on to trade Tucker. A little Cincinnati bearcat action. What you got for me, Tray? Loading one, open is Tucker, that's Tucker. Oh, I go nine. Just solid, solid highlight, solid highlight right there from the bearcat. I love it. It's, I mean, maybe got missed, but for me and Otters, I don't think this is the top 10 worthy. Oh, you want to veto it? I'll go nine. I mean, yeah, let's go nine. It's a highlight. It's a highlight. It's a highlight. Is this a game winner? Uh, no, it's garbage time. They got their asses kicked, right? I just don't, yeah, I'm, you don't believe in garbage stamps. That's, I just, no, I, I, I see guys get joked every fucking game. I don't know this not late. All right, all right. Where we got that 10 we can nine nine nine nine. Oh, above otters. It's a great play. I'm not saying it's not a good play. I just think top 10 is you have a veto Jason. This game does work that way. I don't need to be easy. He's a, he's a bearcat. I'll go nine. Nice. All right, bearcat bias bearcat bias. Uh, we're going back to Niners Falcons. Jesse Bates, sideline interception, sucking down in 14. Party of the pressure again, rolling to his right. And then he throws a little shafted out of bounds. I think I saw this. I want to see the up close. Got Greg Olson on the fucking call. I mean, it's a hell of a play. I think it's a seven or eight for me, though. That's really good. I don't think we go two or one with it. So it's got to be six, seven or eight. You want to go seven? Yeah, that's fine. Six, seven, six, seven. It's a good, every week. Good highlight. Good highlight. Good highlight. Good highlight. We're going to go to Denver, Arizona, bonix, six to yard scamper. The crib. This is fucking. I was running. I mean, I mean, it's an electric play. There's nobody in front of them. Yeah, I don't know. It's six to yard touchdown, though. I get it. He's running fast. He's fucking shot out of this goddamn pocket like he is moving. I'll go, I'll go eight. As a solid highlight. Solid highlight. Solid number eight. We're going to keep moving. This one came to me from the internet. I cannot verify where this came from or what it is, but this is some pee. We football. Dad's practicing some packing with their kids. I saw this. I saw this hilarious. The reaction everybody else is the best part. How do we feel about this? I'm going to be told it. Yeah, that's a great highlight. It is a great highlight for the dad. Yes, the win for the dad, for sure. So win for the dad. We're going to go to you. Imagine if an NFL person did this. This is what this is what they used to do in the 70s and 80s to quarterbacks that weren't big enough. All right, good. We're going to go to Drake May from Bears Patriots on Thursday in football. Drake May. He's competitive spirit here. The hip reaching out. - Oh, nice. - Got it. - Well, having his face twisted out, by the way. - I don't know if you can just show like two. - We've been one and two, like Brandon's actually getting this one late. - Yeah, it's a, it's a slow, weak and high-lights clue. It's slow, weak and high-lights. - I like this one. I like this one. - I guess I'm getting good play. Is it a top 10? - You only has a top 10 play? - No. - He's reaching for the goal. - But to keep his hips up, to keep the knees off, no, it's a hell of a, it's a great fall play. - I'm not saying it's not good, I like watching it, and it's good awareness. - And it's good awareness, but like, I'm not, I'm seeing nothing top 10 worth a year, just on the house. - Vito. - All right, we find you. We're gonna go, this was also sent to us on, wait, are you vetoing this or are we far ranking? - Yes, I'll veto it. - That's two. All right, Lenora Sellers, this was sent to me from Miranda Carter, Glinn on Twitter. We're going to South Carolina, Tennessee. Lenora Sellers. - Incredible play by Lenora Sellers. Lenora's his shoulder runs through Ty Redman, fights through T.J. Medcalfe's on one leg, and he puts the ball over the game. - Yeah. - How we feel? Lenora's. - Six. - A six? - He's hopping on one leg, Jason. - What is up with your love for guys just like-- - He's just reaching for the goal. - I didn't know, that's more than a reach. - That's more than a reach. - Look at my man. - I'm not knocking the effort. - Look, one guy on the ground. - Got a leg. - What's the second guy? - This is, this is, this is, these are plays. - These are just good football plays. They're not highlights. - This is, this is, they are highlights, but they're not top 10 highlights. - Yes, but it's not a top 10 highlight. That's the point. But I do think this is an extra effort one. I could see this one being in it. The Drake goal was three guys. - I mean, six, I can't give this, unless it was like the game winning touchdown into six. - It was to tie the game in the fourth, is what I'm being told. - Tie the game in the fourth. - That's different. - I still don't think, I think the only choices we have are one, two, or six, right? - Yes. - I can't give it one or two. I can't give it one or two. It's a great play, but it's not one or two. - Number six. - I don't know ourselves. - Now we just got to hope that this is-- - These are gonna be the worst one in two lanes. - It's gonna be a different one. - I'm sorry. - We're going back, we're going back to Bear's Patriots. We got a Kale Williams-Piss missile in the fourth quarter, driving to Ice the Game. - Oh, making the window very, very tight. Somehow he gets that in there, overtop of the hand, a Kevin Byard. What a throw, right there. - All right, well, I guess we gotta go two. - We're out of vetoes. - You're out of vetoes, you played the game. Two. - Nice throw, Caleb. - Oh my God. - It's a good throw with his feet and his own fucking in zone. - This is not like-- - This is good ball. - Yeah, this is good ball. This is to keep the drive alive. This is to go down. - We're not saying it's not a good throw. I don't think this is what we're not understanding. This is not a top 10 play. That's the only thing. - I think it's a top 10 play. - That's one of the best throws of the week. - This is gonna be bad. - All right, now I know how you're doing in this game. I'm never doing this again. (laughing) I'm gonna go, I'm gonna pull one out of the hat here. I'm gonna pull one out of the hat here. We're gonna go back, we're gonna go back to Paris. We're gonna go back to Paris. We're gonna go to a New Heights favorite. We're gonna go with a little Darnell Washington. - We were already talking about this. This is not, this is not a bad number one. This is a fucking dope ass play. - Roger's the big man. - Washington pulls it in. - Oh, like didn't even really jump. Just like, you said it best. It's like, honk at the turkey ball, fucking catching it on his nephew. It's just, it's so good. He's like, he's like 25 years old. He's already like built like an oak. - Dude. (laughing) That's hilarious comment Travis. - One of the most unstoppable fucking forces in the NFL right now, man. - Oh my god, that's good. - That's our number one. - Love it, love it. - Titans are no more. - I know you don't Washington. - I don't know Washington. - And that's this week's Top 10, brought to you by Royal Caribbean. Maybe not 100%. - No? - Maybe. - Should we ask dad? Should we phone Ed Kelsey? - Let's see. - Phone in Ed Kelsey. What saved up to right now? - Senior correspondent of our childhood. (laughs) He only did listen. If there's anybody that knows about get old fast food chains and burgers and he's a burger, see your correspondent of fast food chains. Let's call the one guy that's gotten the tartar sauce through a burger on his belly while driving down I-95. (phone ringing) - There we go. - Yo Pop. - Hey Pop. - We're on the podcast with Travis. You are being recorded. Do I have your permission? I don't want to sneak attack you. - Okay. - All right. All right. We're having a trip. - Ed Kelsey. - It's not that it's here. So we're having a little trip down memory lane. Big boy. You remember the restaurant, big boys? - Turtle. - What? What is it? - Manners. Was anything called the man? - Manners? - Manners. - Manners. - Manners. - Yes. - So what is, what is Frisch's big boy? There's also one in California called Bob's big boy. - All right. Well, I think originally it was called Manners. Manners and they had a sandwich called the big boy. - Did the big boy have tartar sauce on it? - It's, there's a special sauce, yeah. It was like a tartar sauce. - No wonder they went out like this. - I don't know that it was tartar sauce but they had their own secret sauce. Their own special sauce. The best of my recollection, it was originally Manners. - Ask him if he's ever gotten that sauce on his stomach. - Then I think the couple, the couple, either broke up regionally or other companies just started doing the same thing. - Yeah, that's what it, that's what we're seeing. - Stay by, stay by, stay by, stay. - This was, you know, this was, this was a gathering place. This was a former owner of Denny's and you know, all these other restaurants. - Oh, man, it's got, it's fucking, he reads. I got a cycle period. - There was a, there's not what's called the region. It was called Manners. Then, then it became, then it became Frisch's. And I don't know if, if it was sold to a company that, besides the name of Frisch's, or if that was just a competing product, or competing company, I don't know. - All right, well Travis wants to know if you ever got that secret sauce on your shirt. - I'm sure I did. (laughing) - Why? - He's just me, buddy. What's, all right, what do you think's the most unhealthy food item at Taco Bell? - Oh, I don't know, there's not, I don't know. That's a, that's a tough one. Well, even though there's a lot of very healthy things at Taco Bell. (laughing) - Yeah, I mean, when you look at terms of fat and calories. - Okay. - This dude, this dude is hilarious. - That's, that's not bad food. - I thought, didn't it, didn't, wasn't it? - I never really was, I was never fond of the food we had tasted. - Okay, see we're in opposite categories. I was very fond of what it tasted like. I just, there was articles that came out that said it was like, you know, like not even, it was like below dog food grade beef. (laughing) Do you ever remember that? - I don't know, how do you, I don't know, who made the determination in what their criteria were. - Yeah, that's a fair question, dad. - Fuck yeah, that's a fair question. - Yeah. - Because being to mean to sound horse, most of your needs - Wait, huh? - Talk about what it's. - Come from dead horses. - Talk about what? - Talk about what? - Most of the dog food and the, and the pet food, the canned dog food, the pate, the pate, the pate. - Yeah, you were feeding bell horse. Is this legal nowadays? - A lot of us stuff foods. - No. - It's a majority who comes from horses. - The majority of the dog food comes from horses. - No, I know, no, no. - It's a what? (laughing) Horse meat is an awesome protein. - Horse feed? Horse meat. - Horse feet? - Oh man. - They do eat it in other cultures, for sure. - They certainly do. - Okay. - All right, here we feed it to our dogs. - I did not know that. - Now, and realize, I'm speaking from-- - Shit. (laughing) - From a point of view in valleys, - Yeah, it might have changed, they might have changed. - Maybe Rex Foyer pushed me to try it out and don't try it. - You could say it, yeah, you could say it. - All right, then we got to go, I love you. It's a good spot, yeah. (laughing) - It ain't time. (laughing) - That was the only way that was gonna end well. (laughing) - You could say it. (laughing) (laughing) (laughing) (laughing) (laughing) (laughing) - You could say it. (laughing) - I knew where he was going before you even fucking said it. - Now, do we ship this, do we ship this? I was about to say we should worse meet the ship. (laughing) (laughing) I'm on fire, I'm sweating. Oh my God, what is going on here? (laughing) - There's so many things I want to Google from that conversation, in fairness to Dad. I googled as most of the dog food in the US horse meat, and the AI response was no, most dog food in the US is not horse meat. I'm gonna ask, okay, 50 years ago, 50 years ago. - 50? - I bet we said 40, 50 years ago. 50 years ago was most of the meat and dog food horse meat. - Oh man, canned, canned food, canned food. All the canned food. - Yes, dude, come on now, Ed Kels is here. He ain't gonna lie to us. - Yes, horse meat was the primary and most common meat ingredient in commercial canned dog food for decades. Starting in the early 1920s, fucking Ed Kels, he's on top of this. - He's guys on this, he knows, he knows a little stuff. - There is a surplus after World War One, World War One, automobiles and tractors are placed working horses on farms and in cities. This left a massive surplus of cheap horse carcasses. - Jesus Christ. - God, all right, let's get out of this.
