How and why finding and living your life purpose is relevant to everyone

This transcription explains how the hero process applies to the average person by framing life purpose as living your dreams. The speaker addresses a common question about relevance, emphasizing that most people are not doing what they love, and this work helps bridge that gap. Using the example of becoming a rock star, the speaker outlines a practical journey: taking small steps (e.g., guitar lessons, busking) while using the "Feel It" process to overcome fears and insecurities. The universe aids this by surfacing obstacles like self-doubt, which must be cleared through emotional work. The speaker stresses that life purpose is not a vague, overwhelming concept but involves daily, small actions guided by intuition. Indirect blocks, such as low self-esteem, are also addressed, as building a strong internal foundation is key to handling a big purpose. Ultimately, life purpose serves as a "carrot" for growth, rewarding emotional clearing with a meaningful life. The speaker concludes that this process is powerful for anyone, not just those actively seeking purpose, as it transforms everyday challenges into opportunities for improvement.

[Music] Hello and welcome to another edition of the Hero Process. And today we're going to be talking about what on earth does the work I teach, the hero process, finding and living your life purpose, have to do with the life of the average man or woman. And it stems from a conversation I had with the friend of mine yesterday that I listened to your podcast and I'm just not quite sure how it applies to my life or whether I can or should be living my life purpose. And how do I change anyway? [Music] So why should the average person out there be interested in finding and living their life purpose? Well, it's a really good question. And I really want to reach and touch the lives and help as many people as possible. So I really need to explain this perhaps in a slightly different way. So you can think of life purpose as living your dreams. Because it really is that big. And if you have something that you would absolutely love to be doing and yet you're not doing it, then life purpose and the work that I teach is something that you should be really considering and applying to your own life. So just ask yourself for a second, am I really doing what I would love to be doing? And the answer for I would say virtually everyone out there is no. If you're one of the lucky few and you really love your job, you love how you spend your days with a passion, then that is brilliant. You probably don't need this work. Although I would say that there are levels to living your dreams. And life purpose really is the next iteration up from living your dreams. It becomes, so let's say you want to be a rock star, which is the analogy I always use. You want to be a rock star and you head off on your journey to become a rock star. And there are practical steps that you need to take. So it might be you need to take singing lessons. You need to learn how to play the guitar. Then you're going to have to gradually develop from having no experience, from singing in front of the mirror, to perhaps busking, and then you perhaps do a small gig, and then perhaps you'll form a band, etc. And each stage of that journey is going to bring up fear and resistance. And because deep down, very few of us feel good enough. So the feel at process, which is one of the key tools that I teach, will allow you to change how you feel about each of those steps. It will allow you to overcome those fears, and allow you to take the step that's required. And if you do enough, if you clear enough of your negative emotions and fears, you'll suddenly find that you've gone from singing in front of the mirror by yourself to actually being up on stage playing a large gig. And yes, it's not a magic wand in as far as you have to take practical steps. This is a very grounded methodology that I teach. But the beauty of it is that when you start doing this work, the universe will get behind you. And what do I mean by that, if that sounds a bit woof-oo to you? I mean that as you set your intention for the goal that you want, for the dream, or for the life purpose that you want, the universe will basically start to show you, not help you in the way that most people would assume. So actually start to show you what's in the way. And this is perfect. This is how it's meant to be. The universe will show you the fears, the doubts, the insecurities, the things that you wouldn't want to do. Or I couldn't possibly play the guitar in front of a group of people, because I'd be too shy and embarrassed and I might get it wrong. All of that kind of stuff, the inner voice, the inner, well, the inner critic will start to chatter in your ear. Or who might think I could be a rock star? Oh, I'm not good enough. I can never do that. I'm too fat, I'm too thin, I'm too whatever. Okay. Now using the feel it tool, you will sit down and you'll work through each of those fears and doubts. Now that might sound like, why on earth would I want to bring all that stuff up? Why would I want to then face it and feel it? Because most of us spend our whole lives running around trying to avoid and having to do that. Well, the answer is how good do you want your life to be? You can carry on exactly as you are now. And I'm sure, you know, for most people, you know, life is okay. And we become very used to what we're doing. It becomes very comfortable. And even if your life is pretty terrible at the moment, there's a safety and security in what we know, better than devil you know sometimes. And it can take a massive effort to make changes. So the beauty of this process and the other tool that teaches how to follow your heart. And what I mean by that is to how to check in with yourself with that deeper part of yourself to listen to your inner voice, your inner compass, which very practically will guide you every single step of the way. Now people freak out a bit when I talk about that sometimes because it feels like, wow, that's too big, that's too overwhelming. I'm not sure I would want to kind of just follow, you know, someone or something else's guidance, because people assume it's going to take them to places they don't want to go. And sometimes it will, but it's very small steps. So it's, if you want it to be the rock star, it's not going to, it's not going to make you move to LA as the first step. You know, it's not going to make you move to London and give up your day job. And you know, resign and throw everything out of the window that your life has been today. It's very small guided practical steps. So it might literally be go and have a guitar lesson or it might literally be even just go online and find an app that will teach you how to play the first chord. That would probably be the first guided step. So it isn't something you need to be so afraid of, although again, if those sort of fears come up, you can clear those using the Philip process. So I hope that gives you a little bit of an idea. It's, once you start on this journey, the universe will reveal the things that are in the way. Your job then is just to keep taking the small steps. And you're over time, you'll learn to trust and realise that actually even when those negatives are coming up. By the way, they come up every day pretty much. And they might be direct, I call them direct and indirect blocks. So they might be direct blocks, which are your resistance to taking an actual step directly towards your goal. So, you know, if you're terrified to do a gig, to do, to do some busking, then that's a very direct step and fear that you need to overcome. But a lot of the time, actually, you'll end up working on indirect steps. By that, I mean, you know, what comes up in you on a day-to-day basis that might not seem related to what you're here to do, but actually bigger picture is that there is a correlation. What do I mean by that? I mean that you need to build a strong enough foundation within yourself to allow yourself to live something as big as your life purpose. And you need to become more confident, you need to be more secure, you need to be more able to go out there and go for it. And that only comes actually when you work on your self-esteem, when you work on how safe you feel. And those are, there's a, you can be big things for some people. Some people already come in born with it. The most of us, myself included, absolutely have to work away. And it's a case of chipping away day by day. Not necessarily massive things, very small things, and just noticing how you feel during the day. So if you don't feel happy, then that is a signpost from the university to say there's something here you should have a look at. So when I'm living my life purpose, most of it is day-to-day. I'm just chipping away at the negative emotions, the negative things that come up day-to-day. And if you keep doing that for long enough, and you keep checking in with your intuition and finding out, is there something practical I need to do today or move me towards my goal? If you keep doing both of those things, eventually you will find, actually, wow, I'm living and I found my life purpose and I'm living it. So is life purpose following your dreams? It's not exactly because life purpose is actually almost a higher iteration of following your dreams. So if your dream was to become a rock star and it felt like the right thing for you to embark upon, you might go and do that and you might even become the rock star. But then at the appropriate point, once you've felt good enough and strong enough in yourself, and your life purpose will actually then be revealed to you. It kind of comes to you rather than you necessarily knowing what it is, or that most people do, I find, when you actually dig around a little bit. But it tends to come in with clarity at the appropriate time when you've got strong emotions. enough to be able to receive it. And for myself, each, I've had several iterations of my life purpose. And had they've come in sooner, like for years, I was following my passion and my dream, which was to have more success, to be rich, successful businessman. And that made me grow. I had to, I went on lots of workshops, you know, I found out about business, became a stronger, better person as a result of that. And look, that's what really living in your life purpose is about. Yes, it's going to take you towards your big dream, but it's all, primarily it's going to help you grow. It's the, you know, life purpose is the, the carrot. It's the incentive scheme that the universe dangles in front of you to, to make it feel really worthwhile, going out and dealing with your emotions and facing your emotions. Otherwise, you know, would you really want to go and do it? What would be the point? Okay. So I hope that's given you a practical example and a bit more of an explanation for why this work could be so powerful for anybody, not just people who are specifically looking for their life purpose. And yeah, I'd love to hear your thoughts or comments. So please feel free to get in touch, leave a comment in the box below. And yeah, please like and subscribe.
