And he will do whatever he can to make sure Donald Trump is happy and protected. Living in a little bubble in which nobody will criticize Donald Trump. And he'll look his absolute best. Which is why it is so funny that Trump's latest action to ban MSNBC, CNN, and Politico from the White House, an action he took directly to protect his feelings, is now making him look stupider than ever. Because everything Donald Trump does, even when Donald Trump is trying to protect Donald Trump, ends up blowing up in his face. And that is exactly what we just saw. This is a man who is obsessed with his image. Obsessed with how he is talked about in the media. Obsessed with how the people he loves think and talk about him. And it's only getting worse. Donald Trump thought that kicking the media out meant that he was insulated. Right? That they couldn't be mean to him. That they couldn't mock him. That they couldn't pretend, in his mind, that he wasn't as strong as he is. But Donald Trump is weak. You don't have to be fake news or write fake stories to show that Donald Trump is weak. That is what we just saw at the White House today. We're going to get into it in just a moment. This hilarious clip that is wholly blown up in Donald Trump's face. But I just have to say that this is the weakest president in American history. And I think we need to be making that case more. One, because it infuriates Trump. But also it removes one of his greatest powers. That he is inevitable. That he will always win. If the media just gives up and says, "Well, Trump has kicked us out. Nothing we should do. Nothing we can do. Guess we just got to give up. Because he's the strong man. He's the dictator." Then we lose. Not only should you be pushing back. And I'm glad these outlets have already sued Donald Trump. And are likely going to sue Natalie Hart because she was part of this. But also cover this man more. Right? Right? Don't stop. We already learned this lesson in 2020 after Trump left the White House. If you stop covering him. People forget how insane he is. So the media is saying that they're not going to air his speeches. They're not going to be talking about him as much. That is a misreading of this situation. You need to broadcast him more. Because when he speaks. He shows everyone how stupid he is. They hate him more. And it means they're going to vote for Democrats in the midterms. But Donald Trump thought that this was a genius idea. We're going to kick all the press out. They're not going to air my speeches. I can hide away for a little bit. But even when Donald Trump can't speak. Which he couldn't today. Which shows how dumb he is. Now Donald Trump in the clip that we're about to take a look at. Unveiled his new helipad. Something that he literally said is. Uniting the country. Bringing people together. It's obviously not true. But Donald Trump was so excited to show off this helipad. He had a little ribbon cutting ceremony. He was going to gather the press. But the press are no longer there. So instead the White House played the footage. They streamed it live. On their official White House YouTube channel. Now friend of the show Aaron Ruppar. He was clipping this event. As he always does. He was taking clips of what was happening. This may be the dumbest thing that's ever happened to Trump. And so well deserved. Because there are no reporters. And because there are not high quality mics. And audio setups. Donald Trump's big announcement. You just couldn't hear it. There is no microphone. Because the pool cameras aren't there. So maybe. Tim this is one example. Of it backfiring just a little bit. Pick up on some of the things. Michael was saying. And obviously the ramifications are right here. Can't hear what the president is saying. So as you could see. Or I guess as you could hear. Trump is holding an event at the White House right now. This is a big event. But there's no audio. Because the press pool isn't there. The Newsmax host notes. That this is an example of Trump's attack on the press. Backfiring just a little bit. So. Because the White House press pool. Isn't there. Nobody can hear what Trump is saying. At his big announcement. They can't hear him talk about how great. His new helipad is. How wonderful and fantastic. How this is what Americans really care about. And that upsets me actually. It's really stupid. And it's really dumb. And I don't care about the helipad. And I know you guys don't want to hear Trump drone on. But imagine the reality in which Americans weren't being confronted. With his idiocy every day. Imagine a reality in which we didn't have Trump. On record. In the oval office. Saying I love the inflation. I think it's great. I don't care about the midterms. I don't care if we make a deal with Iran. What if we didn't have those sound bites. What if we didn't have Trump saying. We don't have to hear from this man. But the alternative is worse. It is them carrying out this agenda. And people not being reminded of it. Sure they are seeing it at the grocery store. At the gas pump. And the inability to afford housing. Yes people are interacting with Trump in that way. But if we did not hear the sound bites. From this sundowning moron. It would be a problem. I know you might be saying. Jack I don't want to hear from him. But people need to. They need to be reminded of how bad it was. I think that if we spent more time. Interacting with the madman that was Donald Trump. In the lead up to the 2024 election. And every day since he left the White House. People might remember what a fuck up he was. What a moron he was. How much he screwed over. Being a leader. The opportunity to actually lead. During a once in a generation pandemic. What a buffoon he is. Don't you think that would have gone a long way. In reminding people that the Trump administration. The first one. Was actually fucking pretty bad. Well all the liberals said that. Trump was going to destroy the planet. There's going to be nuclear warfare. And that didn't happen. We all got out alive. A million people died of COVID. We didn't all get out alive. It wasn't totally fine. Lots of people died. Lots of people were hurt. And that's continuing to happen in this administration. How many millions of people around the globe have died. Because of Donald Trump and Elon Musk. Millions and millions and millions. We don't see him all the time. But we need people seeing how stupid he is. So I beg the press. Do not give up on covering him. Do not say oh we're going to protest. And so we're not even going to talk about you. No. Talk about how dumb he is. What a fuckup he is. What a bad president he is. Talk about Natalie. Talk about the corruption. Talk about all the things you usually do not press him to his face on. Talk about the fact that he falls asleep in the oval office. Part of this might be because Donald Trump doesn't want the press seeing him fall asleep anymore. That's certainly a possibility. Everyone needs to talk about this. And it's why I'm glad that Barack Obama did. My imagination could not foresee some of the stuff that's going on right now. I believe there was just an announcement that the White House decided. You know what? CNN MSN MSNOW Maybe the New York Times was included. You just can't come to the White House press briefings anymore. Because you're giving the current president unfavorable coverage. I'm trying to think what would have happened if I had said, "You know what, Fox News, you're out of here." It's unimaginable. So, but the point I'm making here is that if you have a certain cohort, let's call it 30-35% of the country right now, which thinks that's okay, well what that means is we have not developed the kind of understanding of what democracy requires. And we've got to shore that back up. I don't think that's inevitable. I don't think all is lost on that front. But we have to roll up our sleeves and get working. It makes me feel good about myself and my own struggles through the Trump administration, pulling my hair out, being pissed at the press, that Barack Obama also does the thing when he's like, "Well what if Obama did this?" You know how every week, or really every day, I'm like, "What if Obama did this? What if Biden did this? Fox would be pissed. They'd say the right wing, the Republican." And Obama does that as well. It brings me a little solace that even Barack Obama's like, "Fuck. What if this was me? You people would be losing your minds." But that's the point. That's the point. The point is that if we accurately portray this information, and we don't allow it to be both sides, and we bring it to the people, they will realize how bad this is. They will. But that's why there's been this right wing crusade to talk about everything but what is actually happening in this country. It's why Donald Trump and the Fox propaganda outlet want to make up fake culture wars about trans people, or want to talk about Hasan Piker all the time. And you can like or not like what Hasan says. I agree with a lot of what Hasan says. Hasan and I are friends. That doesn't matter in a midterms where we have a fascist president who's trying to destroy democracy, who's made gas, what is it, six, seven, eight, nine, 10, $10 a barrel? Like, depending on where you are, you can't get diesel, you can't get a home, you can't get food without your ass exploding, because it's like, it's the lettuce, or it's the granola bars, or it's, I don't know, whatever. Something's always being recalled. And so they don't want to talk about that. They want to talk about anything else. And the Democratic establishment has leaned into that, because they don't want Abdul El-Sayed to win. They don't want a mayor like Zoran Mamdani to be successful, right? They don't want progressives to win. So they'll throw any bullshit that distracts people from having real conversations about real progressive solutions to real problems, and not just slop. Because you see a lot of slop from the conservative Democrats, a lot of means-tested slop that doesn't solve any problems, that doesn't answer any structural issues, that doesn't hold bad people accountable. But that's what they want to talk about, the slop, the nonsense. They don't actually want to address issues. But that's why I'm glad consistently, Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, no matter how much nonsense the mainstream press throws at him, reminds them, you're not talking about what people care about. And that's what he said right here. Look, I think if you're actively trying to go after Sharia law, it's because you're trying to change the conversation. Now, I know J.D. Vance with Ohio State. It's a sub-par university, and they didn't teach geography. He was in Kansas to talk about a candidate in Michigan. Seems a little bit confused, but that's J.D. Vance. Ask yourself why J.D. Vance doesn't want to talk about gas prices, doesn't want to talk about the cost of groceries, doesn't want to talk about this ridiculous trade war with Canada that's, charging us Michiganders $5,600 a year, doesn't want to talk about the Iran war that his idiot boss doesn't seem to be able to get us out of. Ask yourself why he doesn't want to talk about any of the issues that Michiganders, that Americans are worried about, why he wants to be talking about Sharia law. He wants to do that because he is desperate to change the subject. At the open of this show, they talked about how they want another chance. Another chance to do what? You want to expand the trade war with Canada? You want to expand the hot war with Iran? You want to continue to pass policies to doge out parts of the FDA that are supposed to keep us from having to dodge lettuce in the United States of America? Another chance? So, look, at the end of the day for them, every day they're not having to talk about the issues that really matter is a day where they think they're winning. At the end of the day, what we're seeing in poll after poll is that they're losing anyway because J.D. Vance comes out and he says the quiet part out loud, right? He's telling his Republican colleagues, oh, you should go talk about that candidate in Michigan, except for only one of them is running against the candidate in Michigan. So, yeah, go ahead and talk about the candidate in Michigan and see how that helps you. Because at the end of the day, me, my name, my faith, they're not raising the price of your gas. They're not raising the price of your groceries. They're not the reason that you can't afford a new home. They're not the reason you can't see a doctor in the United States. That's Donald Trump. That's J.D. Vance. That's people like Mike Rogers. And every day we remind them is a day that we are winning these races. So, go ahead, J.D. Keep doing it. Good luck with that Ohio State education. Democrats have an opportunity to win in the midterms in such a historic way. And I'm not just talking about a lot of House seats. I'm talking about the Senate pickup opportunity. And in places like Kansas, in Nebraska, obviously in Maine, in North Carolina, keeping that seat in Georgia, in Florida, like we have Ohio, we have opportunities to Missouri, like we have opportunities to win in places that it would be shocking, but it would be understood because of how terrible Donald Trump is. But it's only going to happen if we focus on the real issues, which progressives and Democrats who actually care are focused on, right? If we do not allow the distractions of like the corporate media establishment, lazy as fuck as they are, always droning on about Hassan Pike or trying to attack trans people, if we do not allow the media to refuse to cover Donald Trump, if we force them to cover Trump, and you may disagree with me, you may say, oh, they shouldn't give Trump the attention he wants. But do you know who also doesn't want attention on Trump? Republicans right now. So, we got to weigh those things.
