A financial audit episode highlights a deeply flawed relationship between two low-income individuals from Kentucky, Lily and Luke, who are engaged but face severe financial and emotional challenges. Lily works as a medical insurance verification specialist earning $40,000 annually, while Luke earns $1,500 monthly from two part-time jobs. They live with their parents, struggle with high debt, and have no savings beyond $2,500. Communication is toxic, with frequent arguments over finances, trust, and control—such as one partner secretly recording conversations and another stealing TVs from a resort storage unit to pay bills. The dynamic reveals a lack of financial literacy, emotional regulation, and mutual respect. Despite shared dreams like opening a food truck and marrying in 2027, their financial reality is unsustainable, with no clear path to stability. The episode critiques both personal financial habits and toxic relationship patterns, emphasizing that emotional and financial health must align. It also introduces financial tools like Dollar Wise and PDS Debt as solutions for individuals facing similar struggles, urging viewers to prioritize accountability, transparency, and sustainable budgeting. The narrative underscores that financial decisions should not be driven by desperation or emotional manipulation, but by clear planning, mutual trust, and long-term vision.

Because that's how I found out last time.
Found out what?
That he was cheating on me.

Okay, but you do the same thing too.
I'm talking.
No, no, no, no, no.
Let me. Hush.
She recorded your guys' text conversations
to send to her friend.
That's f***ed up.
That is like our personal shit.
I needed like another opinion on it.
My privacy feels so violated by you doing that.
I needed another opinion on it.
This is bullshit.
She should not be. Okay, you want to step outside, Rooker?
Can we let him outside?

Hi, I'm Lily. I'm 30 years old.
Hi, I'm Luke. I'm 35.
We're from Lexington, Kentucky.
And this is Financial Audit.
Well, thanks for coming down to Austin.
Lily, what do you do for a living?
I'm a verification specialist.
What are you verifying?
Medical insurance benefits.
Okay, very good.
What do you make in this job?
$40,000 a year.
Lexington, Kentucky.
I'm going to assume it's like,
if we're looking at like median United States,
it's probably right around there,
maybe a little bit low.
I'm thinking it's that crazy.
Unless I'm completely wrong,
but I'm not the most Kentucky educated,
how many hours a week are you working?
40.
Okay.
Why are you septum piercing?
You're not like the classic septum piercing.
You're kind of more of like,
you should be translating to Karen.
No.
I mean, you look like you're supposed to be,
but you're in septum piercing land.
It doesn't really make sense.
I used to have purple hair.
Oh, f**k.
She did.
Oh, f**k.
I like what I like.
You like, okay.
She is a dime.
You're going to get,
what hits you?
What is your account per paycheck cycle?
What is that per paycheck cycle?
Unless I work like a smidge over time,
it's like 10, 98.
Well, do you usually work a smidge over time?
Depends, but not really.
So not really.
So what's your average then?
10, 98.
Every?
Two weeks.
Okay.
Oh, I certainly hope this dude makes some money.
What do you do, Luke, for a living?
I'm in food service.
I actually have two jobs.
I work at a fast food restaurant part-time.
Which one?
Oh, f**k yeah.
Yeah.
Dude, that gravy and those tenders are f**king.
The gravy is very easy to make.
Well, it's gravy.
Yeah.
Okay.
And what do you do with that?
So I'm a cook there.
Sure.
And then I work at a middle school as a lunch lady.
Right.
Yeah.
And how many hours a week do you work there?
What's your pay in both of these locations?
Gotcha.
So I'll start with the middle school.
That's my main job.
It is contracted.
So what that means is I got a set contract for however long the school year is.
Whatever.
So.
But not independently.
You're a pending contractor.
No, no, no.
That's what.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Correct.
Okay.
So basically every week I make $311.
Or every two weeks.
My apologies.
What?
So it's $622 a month at the middle school.
What the f**k?
Okay.
And then.
$11 an hour.
What are we doing?
No one makes that low anymore.
Take it up with Dairy Queen.
No.
Take it up with Lexington.
Why are you there?
Okay.
No, no, no.
I get it.
I mean.
What's the minimum wage in Kentucky?
$7.25.
Okay.
So federal.
Yeah.
That makes sense.
But dang.
Yeah.
Lexington's a little behind.
Sucks.
Well, but that usually means the cost of living there is likely cheaper,
which is what I was suggesting at the beginning.
And I might have to look it up.
Okay.
How many hours a week are you getting there?
Dairy Queen.
It's going to be 80 hours a month.
Give or take.
Because it's.
A month?
What do you take home a month?
I think I estimated like $1,500 a month.
Are you?
That's with both combined.
You are 35.
Indeed.
Well, you should be on indeed.
Because you're making $1,500 a month.
But I'm a lunch lady.
How cool is that?
Not.
Because you're making $6.22 a month from that.
It's not very cool, is it?
No.
Not at all.
I can't stand it.
What the fuck?
Aaron's coming out.
Huh?
How is that not cool?
Oh, you're not paying.
You can't afford anything.
You're not getting paid enough to fucking pay bills.
It's a fun job, though.
Being a lunch lady?
The kids are funny.
You know how many fights I've seen in the lunchroom?
That's what we're basing our entire life around.
Seeing kids beat each other up.
Well, it's like.
Go work in juvie.
You'll make more being a guard.
I've done that before.
Do it again.
No.
That shit's stupid.
But being a lunch lady is not?
I mean, well, I mean.
Well, to do any.
What's the highest paid person in your lunch lady service?
Do you know?
Is there like a decent career position?
Because the lunch ladies.
You know what?
I went to school.
It's the same people forever.
They did it forever.
That's true.
But they couldn't do this forever.
Not that income.
I work with some dinosaurs.
I will say that.
They've been there since Jesus was born.
But that means they're like having a career.
Right, right.
So basically.
So what's the difference between you and them?
The longer you've been there, the more you get paid, right?
It stops at $19 an hour.
And that's after working there for 10 years.
20 years.
20 years.
I want to make it a career.
Cooking, at least.
I have a career.
I have a career.
I have a feeling you're not necessarily on board with that.
No.
Look, she is.
I'm speaking.
She is like a spoiled brat, spoon-fed, like mommy and daddy give her everything.
She makes the money.
What?
Well, what do you mean?
Wait, no, no, no.
What do you mean?
She makes the money.
I mean, but she spends it on everything.
But I have the money to spend.
Well, do you?
I mean, I don't think you'd be on this show if that's the case.
I don't know if I'm going to agree with you there.
No, you don't.
Do you?
Yes, I do.
Yes, I do.
Okay.
You don't, but whatever.
Well, what's the disagreement there?
Because she buys all this bullshit.
Like, we ended up going to Walmart last night because. I'm sure you did.
We did.
At 11 o'clock.
Tired as fuck, but whatever.
We ended up getting something we did not need.
I needed it.
What?
It was a watch for her daughter.
In my nose ring.
Just because she needed it.
You actually just got that.
No.
It was the actual, like, ring part of it.
Okay.
Why'd you need the watch for your daughter?
Because she wanted it.
She wanted a digital watch.
Can you describe that as a need?
She wanted it for school.
Sure.
I keep hearing the word want, but you said it was a need.
Where's the need?
I'm not hearing need.
I'm hearing want.
Her kids would just like her.
Why does she need a watch?
No one needs a watch.
Yeah, she does to learn the time.
Huh?
Is it not your kid?
No.
So, we're a blended family.
I have two kids.
He has two kids.
Yes.
You look like a thumb.
A thumb?
Just the more and more I look at you, something's happening.
Are you Jewish?
No.
Can I call you Jew boy?
Well, I mean, you can.
I'm not Jewish, but. What does that have to do with how you look?
There's something happening.
It's like. I've seen you somewhere.
Really?
Yes.
No, no, no.
Like Planet of the Apes or something.
Like, there's something going on.
You're right.
Okay.
I'm just sorry.
I was taken away.
No, I mean, hey, you can be bald.
It's okay.
I'm just. Whatever's happening right here, I've never witnessed other than, like, prosthetics in
a movie.
Oh, like this?
Yes.
Bro, I hate this shit, but. Well, no shit, because it's crazy.
I can put a pencil there and hold it.
Okay.
So. What were you saying?
She needed the watch.
Yes.
Obviously, he didn't need to.
So. She needed it for school.
The disagreement, clearly, though, is on the more career position.
So, what's your perspective here?
I mean, obviously, you don't like it.
He thinks it's fun.
So. But tell me, what's going on in the conversations around it?
Fun's not going to get you anywhere.
You need something stable.
You need something that is going to last throughout the summer.
You need something that's going to pay bills instead of me having to cover, like, part
of your bills.
I pay my bills.
So, I don't know why you're rolling your eyes about it.
I pay my bills, too.
With my health.
You don't give me a dime.
Yes, I do.
No, you don't.
How do we. How are we disagreeing whether or not money's given?
That's, like, a clear fact.
Like, you. You're good with giving me gifts.
I'm cool with that.
And. Well, that's not giving money to pay your bills.
Yeah, I can pay my bills.
Wait, then what are you talking about?
I give him money to pay his bills.
How is there a disagreement on that?
That is a clear yes or no fact.
I don't understand what you're. I don't understand what you're disagreeing about.
You disagree?
I haven't helped you pay your bills before.
Are you crazy?
You're just making this shit up.
Like, what is going on?
No, I'm not.
You need to calm down.
Whatever.
What is happening here, guys?
What is that dynamic?
I don't want to. I want it to be a productive conversation for what it's worth.
You guys aren't even looking at each other.
What is the dynamic walking into this room?
I don't know you.
I go into these episodes blind.
Give me a little something to work with here.
Because this is, so far, a little difficult to mediate.
I'll be honest.
I mean, we just have our disagreements.
It gets intense sometimes, but it happens.
I don't know.
Maybe she's just not used to someone like me.
I don't know.
What is like you?
I treat her like. Like, I'll worship the ground she walks on.
amazing I'm always there for her emotionally like all this stuff you agree sure until his
like attitude comes out why would his attitude come out literally I could just say I'm just
like a little bit frustrated I'm a little overwhelmed and he just is like you're not
allowed to feel that way I'm not allowed to have my own feelings you hit her with you're not allowed
to feel that way dude have you ever talked to a woman before you know that makes it worse I've
talked to well I better not say that I've talked to no I'm not gonna say that you're 35 I'm sure
you've been around had some fun who cares fair how many of you guys been together a year and a
half a little over you guys fight before this episode or something no yes did you fight on the
what well we can go you're disagreeing with yourself I got it was over aghastic
I was trying to find a gas station we passed three of them on the way here and he would not
tell me like to pull over anything like hey there's a gas station over here hey there's a gas station
over there and he just wasn't telling me anything and I'm like I need you to look up these gas
stations so we can stop it first of all you did not tell me to look up any gas station you didn't
what do you mean you need to like chill your tone chill my tone yes chill your ever okay
what the do I do here no I listen listen listen hear me out
big dog I'm trying so I assumed that the next gas station she sees on the road she would just
turn right in there and get one oh you were driving yes I'm in the middle okay well fair
enough why didn't you just go to the next gas station because I didn't know where they are I'm
not around but you just see them I don't know because I'm in this lane and they're all the way
over in this lane so I need to know when to get over get in that lane she's so scared to drive
to get over in that lane you can just drive in the right lane I'm confused
you think every lane's a mandatory turn right lane I don't know if you've driven before okay
that's a weird thing there are some like just turn only lanes here but then you see it and you get out
of the lane like last minute I asked to drive but she said no do we need to talk about your foot
oh my goodness we're not talking about my foot how often do you guys fight because what the
like pretty often yeah I would uh say they're not that bad not that bad you guys can barely
communicate right now
now whatsoever like I said I can't I can't even like disagree with anything and he he's just like
it's my way or the highway okay there's kids in the picture right yes let me get I'm trying to get
a full full picture here I guess four kids between us both yes how many per each two two two two
ages um I've got thanks go ahead thanks for letting me speak by the way what are we doing
come on I mean let's try to well okay let's come on um so I've got my
son who is three and then my daughter who is turning 12 next week okay um I have a daughter
who is eight and a son who's five does he not let you talk at home what do you mean he just
what do you mean what do you mean what do I mean I can talk as long as it's in a nice friendly tone
and why don't you let her talk there she's being fine she always interrupts me every time every
time you always interrupt me and I have to literally stop talking to her and I have to
stop and be like can I finish what I'm saying
what is our hope here I feel like you guys are using the show to
stab each other right now what is our hope here what's going on what are we talking about
I'm trying to get him to realize that he needs a job that's going to actually pay
bills so he's not in all this debt not unfair sure and you she's got angry issues and
she just expects me to solve that can you anger issue audit oh can I go have these on that I mean
I don't know you you've kind of been the one a little more snabby maybe I'm hangry I don't know
I'm a big guy I like to eat okay why are you looking at me like that that's crazy dude you're
looking at me shut up mimsy no you're looking at me like you're about to stick it in me dude
it's wild brother
no you're the one with the look okay you think she's a cover-up or something
well there are bisexual people out there but what are you hoping for out of this conversation
I mean I do have a dream what's your dream I want to put two together right my dream is
obviously to marry her I do love her really really we're engaged oh my and then I well
that's quick oh you could have fooled me okay and what's number two
I want to have a food truck a dessert food truck okay he's actually really good at everything at
making food like like little like dessert stuff he works at right I've got plenty of and he warms
things up at a public school yeah and then we do warm the things up yeah yes I come on um so I've
had a lot of food service experience over my years of being an adult um I shadowed under a friendship
for a year and a half
why are you working in a public school Lexington's got some shit jobs you either got why are you in
Lexington we as a human species move where there are opportunity even back to the Polynesians oh
that's why we're here we can't afford shit to even move no you can like well shit with kids
that is a little difficult okay fair enough and like my family is around where we live and I don't
want to move away yeah but that's like a sacrifice we have to do for a better life for our own kids
right this is something we have to do like I could have stayed in my small town smaller town Kalamazoo
forever I wouldn't have had the same opportunities that I've been blessed with since I moved to a place
with opportunities I was an adult I made the choice but do you think your life would really
be different though well if you were somewhere else because even still there are people eat at
nicer restaurants in Lexington still promise you okay you're stuck as a cook at how can I take
anyone's word that you're a great chef that's ready to open a restaurant do you support that
venture
you're stuck as a cook at how can I take anyone's word that you're a great chef that's ready to open a
kind of it takes a lot of money until that's what i was gonna say and you're already against him
making 1500 bucks a month are you ready to do two three years with no money because it's gonna be
money in not money out you want to go halfsies on that like i mean i can do some gourmet pastries
some cinnamon rolls some pumpkin rolls okay have you heard me speak positive about this yet no
so you are she's already struggling with you bringing in 1500 it's gonna be a couple years
before you generate a profit.
Usually with most restaurants,
food truck might be a bit easier.
But you could help me start it.
You can run the whole thing.
Okay.
I appreciate it.
Obviously, I'm not going to.
Shut the fuck up.
So what are your thoughts on this?
Like I said, it's going to take a while to build up.
Maybe.
That is true.
So what are your thoughts on it, though?
That is a fact.
Now, what are your thoughts?
We have other shit to take care of right now.
Like, we can't just, like, drop everything.
We have all this debt.
Well, you have all this debt.
Is it just him?
No.
I have, like, a car loan.
That's a debt.
Exactly.
And car loans is often, besides a mortgage,
if you have that, he doesn't work?
He has more debt.
Oh, well, it's not a competition, dude.
Car loans are one of the biggest we have
as far as minimum monthly payments go.
I need a car.
In the United States.
You don't even have a car?
How do you get to school?
Take the bus with the kids?
My dad's car.
So we do stay with our parents, by the way, in a grand.
You make more money driving the bus.
The bus is for the school.
You're not wrong with that.
I should do that.
No shit.
You are, like, the lowest income person I've had on the show.
Damn.
A long time.
You are a failure of a 35-year-old.
No, you're a. Well, okay.
How are you not a failure?
First of all, I'm a bald baddie, right?
I'm beautiful.
I love how I look.
You're going to annoy me.
Okay.
Good.
But, I don't know.
So let me get back to the car thing, right?
If you don't mind.
Sure.
You run the conversation.
He also used to drive his ex's car.
Before he moved in with me.
So he's literally never had a car since I met him.
Can we do one thing at a time?
Can you chill out?
Can you chill the fuck out?
Okay.
Anyway, I'm borrowing her dad's Jeep, okay?
That's how I get to work and from work, right?
He's nice enough.
Her mom and dad are nice enough to let me use the vehicle, okay?
But eventually, yes, I do need to get my own vehicle.
If I'm not mistaken, you're kind of complaining how her parents, like, give her money and she's spoiled.
But you're the one that's actually getting. You're the one that's actually getting blessed by her parents at the beginning.
Like, what the. What the fuck?
Like, you're. You're receiving the exact thing you were bitching and moaning about and having resentment over.
I feel like that.
I'm the best relationship she's ever had.
And I think they feel that way because she's had some. Well, she's still with you.
So I guess she agrees.
So maybe they owe me it.
Owe it to me.
Did I catch you guys in a bad time?
What do you mean?
He. He just has, like, an attitude problem.
And you can deal with this?
Sometimes.
I wouldn't be able to deal with it.
But sometimes.
Yeah.
She's got the attitude, not me.
I told him up front that I have, like, issues.
He tried to make it seem like. Okay.
Like, he was this, like, calm, cool, collected. What?
Oh, yeah.
And then it was, like, 180.
No, no, no.
Her anger issues and how she takes that out on me changed my whole mental mindset.
She has made me into who I am now.
I get set off by anything.
I go from zero to 100.
It is your fault.
Okay.
I have never been. I have never been treated like this in any relationship I've ever been in.
Treated like what?
Tell me.
Like dog shit.
But tell me.
I need examples.
She has repeatedly yelled at me.
I remember one fight.
we had we were on the way to her daughter's basketball game and it was about me going down
to the basement to go clean up some stuff and then it was maybe 10 minutes and she's like where you
been and I'm like in the basement cleaning and she's like why didn't you tell me I'm like oh so
are you my mommy now I'm talking no no no no let me hush you do the same thing to me you'll be like
what are you doing where are you I could literally get up and go to the restroom what are you doing
where are you going I don't I don't but basically like you messed up my turn of thought because I
was talking about the argument we were driving to the basketball game thank you so I'm thanking
myself right third person that's cool right no it's not um so she we were we were yelling at
each other over the fact that we that she was saying like where are you at all
that stuff and she was like I don't know I don't know I don't know I don't know I don't
know all that stuff and she has some kind of psychotic break or something I don't know what
the fuck happened she's driving I begin to like start fearing for my life she's like slamming her
hands on the steering wheel I'm making the kids in the car no no um I thought maybe we're going
to go into a ditch whatever it was not that dramatic it was I got you guys there's no chance
you fight every day not like every day not every day what we have good times yeah the good times
are on a bad time it's she came out the not three but like 11 30 at night at walmart because she
needed a nose ring and a watch for her daughter she does last night yeah in austin yes scared
shitless there was no other stores I really but you didn't need to get a watch for your daughter
in austin it just I happened to find it because I was looking for one anyway and I just found one
you didn't need to be at walmart at 11 30 p.m the day before coming I had a different nose ring and

We go raw then.
What about, you know?
Huh?
That's not protected.
It's like half and half.
Well, that's not protected.
Why even go half and half if the other half is no?
I can hold my shit in.
What do you mean by that?
But like 30% of men or something have semen in their pre-cum.
I don't pre-cum.
That's not a thing.
I got a turn off valve.
I'm good.
But he pulls out.
Yeah.
If I don't have a condom.
So what's our living situation then with these kids?
I don't know how you can afford a place.
It must be a cheap place.
No, we live in my parents' basement.
At 35 and 30?
Yes.
We can't afford anywhere else.
And you're talking about opening a business?
What are we on about?
Do you not give a shit about your kids?
Go start a f***ing career.
A f***ing career?
How am I going to do that?
I got my GED.
That's my good enough diploma.
Good.
There you go.
And you have experience.
Now start working your way up somewhere.
Become a manager.
Yeah, right.
Start doing some shit.
Yeah, right?
Why yeah, right?
He has manager experience too.
I do.
I do.
Well, there you go.
Dude, we've had managers at like Whataburger and stuff make six figures on this show.
I mean, I was close to making six figures at one point.
We know at Panda Express they get like 120.
I was making six figures at one point.
Is there a Bucky's nearby?
No.
No.
Okay.
Not close enough to like commute to for work.
Because they make over six figures.
I do.
Like there's actually, this is, because those are in demand positions.
Because fast food is hard to fill.
Yeah.
They will pay.
Before her, I was making.
Nothing with that?
Come on.
Yeah.
What were you making?
So I was making around 90K plus.
It was commission based.
I was a timeshare sales manager in Tennessee and I was making bank.
Okay.
And I feel like honestly, that's why.
Why don't you go do that?
You got a timeshare in Lexington?
The f***?
What do you mean?
Okay.
Why don't we go back there then?
She's not leaving the silver spoon.
I'm not leaving my parents.
How far of a drive is it?
Five hours.
Tennessee.
Okay.
That's not the worst.
Tennessee and Kentucky are close and you guys are from small states.
Micro dick states.
I don't know.
I just don't, I don't like being that far away from my family.
I like to be able to like just drive to my mom's house whenever I want.
Well, then you might have to accept that there's going to be lower income opportunities for
the rest of your life.
I mean, I think if we moved, it would be a good thing.
I mean, objectively, career wise.
I have a good career right now.
Well, honestly, you really don't make much.
You really don't make much.
You work from home.
Yeah.
What's wrong with that?
I'm not saying there's nothing wrong with that.
You're like attacking her for that.
No, I'm saying we can move because she can take that job anywhere, right?
We can move down to move somewhere else.
Okay.
Yeah, sure.
Okay.
So what's our plan then with the business?
I don't want to interrupt you.
So go ahead.
I mean, you'll have to.
It's your business.
Well, I mean, I thought she was going to interject on something.
I felt like she was.
But okay.
So I'll just start then since she don't want to say anything.
Well, she doesn't even fully necessarily support the business, but she certainly doesn't support
what you're doing now.
So what's the plan?
So the plan.
So we are getting married.
When?
Why?
Because we love each other.
When?
So it's November 6, 2027.
When we do, that's our wedding date.
So we're going to have a little bit of money left over after the wedding to either do honeymoon.
From who?
Just gifts and stuff.
Yeah.
And we're trying to save up money.
We've been talking to pay for the wedding though.
Well, wedding and honeymoon.
We've been saving up.
Yeah, we're saving for the wedding.
You have money.
We're broke.
We have some saved.
Yeah, I know we do.
For the wedding?
Yes.
Yeah, we saved.
How much is the wedding going to cost?
Like $10,000.
And how much do you have saved?
$3,000?
Yeah.
$3,000.
You need to go to the wedding instead of cleaning.
How much debt do you guys have combined?
You're about to be, we should know as a household, how much do you guys have combined?
I just have the car.
She has medical debt.
LA medical debt.
I didn't ask what you have.
I asked what number you guys have combined.
There's so much for me.
Savings is $2,500.
But I will tell you that barely even scratches the surface of the debt.
It's about 10%.
It wouldn't even come close even if you used it towards something that's even more important.
So again, what's the plan with the restaurant?
Because you're going to be going in with,
nearly $30,000 of consumer bad debt into this marriage with kids to take care of
and no good careers to speak of.
I'll get you both course career certifications individually.
Congratulations.
People in the audience have converted them into six-figure jobs constantly in the trades
and tech, whatever you want to do.
Okay.
But clearly right now, this is a joke.
And the wedding is going to cost money and you're barely going to pay for it.
Because I don't know how you're going to save off from that.
Because your minimum payments are insane.
Your budget's an absolute joke.
And the money that you get after,
it's probably just going to go towards even paying off what you borrowed to even get to the wedding.
Then we're still going to be in like $30,000 of debt.
And then you're going to start a company that's going to take like two years until you barely. They really break even, and the margins aren't even great.
So what's your plan?
That's why you should help me with it.
So what's your plan?
He wants to use the money after the wedding, however much we have left.
Well, we already established that it's going to go towards paying for the debt that was used for the wedding.
It's going to go for the honeymoon that I want.
I don't think she'll do that.
What honeymoon do you want?
I want to go to Ireland for like 10 days, two weeks.
What is that going to cost?
She doesn't even like flying an airplane.
It took everything within her to even get here.
I'll get over it.
Well, she did it.
Yeah, I did it.
I squeezed my arm off.
But she did it.
How much is that going to cost?
I don't know.
However much it is.
Thousands?
Three?
For both of you, maybe?
Yeah, because we want to go for at least 10 days to two weeks.
It would take every bit of what we have left over from the wedding, I'm sure.
Yeah, and you guys are going to want to do nice things there.
See, my thing is like—
Oh, let's hear about this.
So, listen, buddy.
You don't want to do that with me.
Do what?
Listen?
Just let me talk.
I am.
That's what I said.
Let's hear about this.
Okay, thank you.
But—
This fucking—
Okay, go on.
Oh, okay.
Okay.
Whatever.
Just yap, dude.
I'm listening.
I'm waiting.
Okay, so my goal is—
Bald.
I'm a bald baddie, okay?
Go on.
Mr. Clean-looking motherfucker, okay?
Okay.
So, if I can do the food truck, and it's in a surplus, we're doing good in business,
we can move to Ireland.
We can go to Dubai.
We can go wherever we want.
We can go wherever we want to.
What the fuck are you talking about?
I need your business plan for this food truck.
Desserts.
What desserts are you making?
So, cinnamon rolls, cheese danishes, croissants, cheesecakes.
I do a lot of cheesecakes.
Like, mini cheesecakes.
I love cheesecake.
I love cheesecake at nighttime.
Real late at night.
Do we have a piece of paper?
Can we get a piece of paper for this man?
A piece of paper and a pen, please.
Okay.
So, that's good.
A little dessert thing.
Where are you opening it?
Well, I mean, just wherever a truck can be set up.
What do you mean?
That is a very important thing.
It's a very important part of whether or not people come up to the food truck to eat.
Obviously, I would scout out where to put it.
You haven't?
College campus.
How are you funding this?
How much is this going to cost?
Jesus.
A lot.
Wow.
Incredible.
So.
You said, like, $5,000.
It's going to be more than $5,000, probably.
I'm sure.
That was just what you told me.
I mean, we don't really need ovens or anything, because I could still probably do that at the
house, whatever, that I don't have.
Damn.
Yeah, you live with your parents.
Yeah.
Your life's a f***ing joke.
I would say maybe about $30,000, to be honest with you.
I'm doing the calculations right now.
All right.
This is what we're going to do.
So, in the post show, our panel, which is me, Brandon, and Lindsey, as you know, I'm
from Hammer Elite, we are going to each sample your best three desserts, and we will make
sure we get you what you need to cook them here in the studio after we film, and we'll
eat it.
Deadass.
So, write down what you need, because we don't have an oven here.
So, like, if you need a little cook thing, if you need flat top, they call me the Gordon
Ramsey of finance.
Well, now we're getting just the Gordon Ramsey of Gordon Ramsey.
Okay?
Okay.
So, you write the ingredients you need for your three best desserts that you can make
in, like, 30 minutes.
So, probably not a cheesecake, but go ahead.
Write down.
You focus.
I'll focus on her.
Okay.
So, he's a f***ing piece of shit.
I can hear you.
Hey, focus.
Write down what you need, including even, like, spatulas and shit.
Daddy chill.
And one of my, one of my, I told you he's a f***ing piece of shit.
One of my little.
Okay.
One of my little gremlins will go shop, okay?
Okay.
So, what's going on at this household right now?
How are the finances ran?
I mean, I put back what I need.
I pay my bills.
Anything extra, I do whatever I want with.
I'll get.
I'll get groceries from me and, you know.
Can I have the headphones?
Can I have the headphones, please?
What are you listening to?
Mark literally took off his headphones for monitoring the audio of this episode, thinking
that's.
No, no.
I need this man to lock the f*** in.
And I just need to talk to my girl over here.
Your girl.
Girl's girl.
She's my girl.
Also, so here's the thing, guys.
In Lexington, Lexington, Kentucky.
Words are hard.
Most realistic.
First time.
God, if it's going to take, uh, it's usually two to three months working capital.
It's going to be $70,000 to $120,000 to get this thing up and running.
Oh, yeah.
You guys make $3,696 a month and live in the basement of your parents.
I know you're joking about me investing, but like, how are we actually getting that money?
I save a little bit every paycheck.
Girl, $2,500 is what we've gotten to after a year together.
And we have a wedding that's going to cost 10 in a year and a couple months.
When will my parents help out a little bit?
I appreciate you.
So a lean and bootstrap version is $40,000 to $70,000.
Minimum $40,000 would take you a decade to get to at your guys' pace.
And then you're going to have to plug it in.
Yeah.
I got it.
Did you?
Because you were trying to.
You were doing something.
I want to do left and right.
There's no music.
See, that's the attitude always.
Do you want the desserts or not?
Dude, chill out.
Do not tell me to chill.
Dude, chill out.
Stop.
Do the kids witness this at home?
No.
No.
No.
You'll wait until they're gone?
Mm-hmm.
We're asleep.
We're asleep, yeah.
Which means you guys are just building her up all day.
I can't hear you.
Good.
That's the point.
So I understand you say you deal with your stuff, but the whole household together.
His money comes in, your money comes in, money's going out.
How is the entirety?
How's the communication done?
How does this work in the house, the money?
I mean, I figure out all the bills.
Everyone, for both of you combined.
Yes.
So not just you.
Okay.
Yes.
I figure out all the bills, what we're going to have to pay.
I tell him what he's going to have to pay out per paycheck, what I have to pay out per paycheck.
I have like a month's bills set out in advance, and then I just pay as I go.
Okay.
And are we making budget?
Kind of.
I mean, you should.
You live with your f***ing parents.
Yeah.
What are even the bills?
The bills are paid.
Oh, you are f***ing brain dead.
When he's not talking, the more brain dead person, all of a sudden you look brain dead.
What are the bills?
You live at home with your parents.
What are the bills?
Like car payment, car insurance, subscriptions.
Keep going.
I have. What else is there?
Doctor's appointments, medication I have to get.
What's up, babe?
Stuff for my kids.
I put money back to my kids' savings.
What?
Yeah.
How much is in their savings?
I'm like. Two, three right now?
Girl, you can't even put a roof over their heads.
Stop.
Well, I don't know like specific, but it's around two to three.
You can't even put a roof over their heads.
Stop that.
They have a roof over their heads.
They don't even have a place of their own.
Come on.
We're getting there.
Dude's about to go into a 40,000 hour hole somehow, and he's going to like payday loan
it to do his little dream job, which we'll see if it's even worth in the post show.
Oh, f***.
I hope they can read that handwriting.
He's a f***ing. And he's a lefty.
He's from the cave this morning.
Okay.
And how's the communication of the finances in the house?
Well, I pretty much tell him like, this is our budget.
So you tell him?
Yeah.
And he says?
Well, let's just pull a little bit out of savings.
Then we could put that back into savings.
For what?
Or we'll just. Random stuff.
For fun.
Yeah.
Fun stuff.
Yeah.
And you say?
I try to like convince him out of it, but. Well, convince him.
What do you have to convince him?
I thought you ran the finances.
If you run the finances, why do you have to convince
him?
So he gets. He forcefully takes the money out?
No.
Then what the f*** are you talking about?
I just feel bad, I guess.
Because like, he really wants it, and I feel bad for telling him no.
So you're both just endlessly giving in to each other.
Which means, how long has he been doing this job?
How long have you been fighting him to get a better job?
Oh, gosh.
Whenever we first got together, he was working at the hospital.
And then. God, I can't. I honestly cannot remember.
I can't remember whenever he started this one, but he was working at a. How long have you been, in general, pushing him to do better?
Get a better job?
A few months.
Like, since last year.
Months, okay.
Since last year.
And, oh, last year hasn't been months.
We're in f***ing August.
And what if he never does?
What if he never does?
Then what?
What are we going to do?
Is it you're working on getting a new place?
But no, you're not.
You guys don't make anything.
Barely.
I mean, we can just. I don't know.
And let's be honest.
I mean, I've listened to this conversation, answered this honestly.
In this household, are there anger issues?
Yes.
Tell me.
Which are both of us.
I mean, I'm bipolar.
He wants. Yeah.
Like I said at the beginning, he's like, yeah, I'm very chill, very level-headed, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
But he's definitely not.
He. Like, I have videos, like, screenshots of, like, our conversations.
What?
And stuff like that, yeah.
With you?
It's pretty bad.
Yeah, with me.
Show me.
Like, back and forth stuff.
Show me, show me.
Oh, screenshots?
That's crazy.
It's like you're preparing to cancel them or something.
It's just for, like, if we have a conversation and I could say, like, you're doing this again.
He doesn't really know I have these screenshots, though.
Okay, this is like five. He still doesn't.
This is like a five-minute long video.
Oh.
Oh, my. Okay, ladies and gentlemen, let's get into it.
I'm going to read it.
Let's get this video put on screen.
Okay, so it must start on this Friday thing.
Okay, this is from you.
um okay yeah she says all i was doing was trying to vent and get things off my chest so they don't
linger but i get told to chill out i've told you before that makes me so mad when people tell me
to chill out or calm down always does for women and then he says okay you're taught you're taking
what i said completely the opposite direction what i was trying to say before you walked out
the door was you need to calm down so you can breathe and not stress anymore but you wouldn't
let me finished he said she says so much better way to have word of that instead of telling me
to chill out all i wanted to do was vent about the situation okay so far this is like a normal
man woman conversation but we'll see how it goes he says chill out never came out of my mouth
okay by the way why'd you even why'd you take a screen recording of this conversation like that's
a kind of like a crazy bitch move unless it's like something
you're doing it's like a crazy bitch move unless it's like something you're doing it's like a crazy
move unless it's like something you're doing it's like a crazy bitch move unless it's like something
legal in here well i mean it was it was so bad like it ended up turning into another
day where i was why is the screen recording because i wanted to show my friend like
your friend yes what's your private relationship it was honestly like the first time and i was like
on the verge let's see you said oh yes it did that's what made me mad you need to chill out
is exactly what you said he says no honey it wasn't okay but okay you say yes
it was he says i know what i said you say that's why i walked out because i hate that shit i know
what i heard he says why do you always have to i hate what why do you always have to figure i hate
that shit what i'm over it all right oh he goes back to lowercase i know what i said
can we please have a peaceful weekend he says you say trying to once again tell you how i'm feeling
and how what you said made me feel but shut it down again he says you're coming out you say i'll
i'm done put that back on piece of shit piece of shit oh i'll put it on calm down
and you say i'll just get my meds tomorrow or uh i'll just get my meds tomorrow well it doesn't
sound like a good idea okay thank god for a quick and stop this is everything you need uh yes
including cooking equipment and everything oh shit i thought you said a kitchen we have a kitchen
but not with a stove or anything so you need to say what you need i did it with we'll do hot plates
and stuff well i didn't i didn't even know that i did it so i could just make it as simple as
possible like still good still okay just tell us everything you need i got you i got a grocery
list here and you need nothing else do you have a whisk do you have mixing bowls i would put those
on okay back on back on okay he says and now and i know what i said because i know
that phrase makes you mad why would i purposely do it to set you the fuck off that's the last
gosh diddly darn thing i want to do trust me because it's oh when you get like this and push
me into a corner you push them into a corner or is he just saying that verbally i i guess i do i
don't try to on purpose but uh you said not what i heard he says well i know what i said and it
set you off and it wasn't chill out i live in a constant fear of making you mad so i choose my
words carefully for the most part especially after us just getting over an argument like we had the
other day i've been on my p's and q's about everything okay so far i'm relatively neutral
slightly leaning towards him so far does something get bad in here yes okay okay because it is a very
long video i will say uh but let's uh continue if you live in so much fear why deal with me you say
because the good times outweigh the bad well that's what he said on the show but the bad times
are terrible so the good times are no are but the good so so the good times are damn good you say
i've told you from the beginning how i am you're the one that ignored it he says but that fear
still remains you say yeah i got pissed off but i'm not gonna threaten to leave i get pissed off
i talk about it then after a while i calm down he says yeah i can't handle the stress you put me
under when you get mad at the world i literally want to die in a hole
I'm going to have you fast forward to where the bad stuff is then.
Because so far, you know, normal argument.
Not something I've recorded to show people.
My goodness.
I don't tell people that I'm friends with or anything.
Like what I made my girl fight about.
What the fuck is wrong with you?
Also, yes, it's just like a year in.
Like, my gosh, this is such berating, such chaos.
You guys have trust issues too?
Why?
Because we both have been in really, really toxic relationships in our past.
Like this one, I would say.
Okay.
Well, what do you do with the lack of trust?
He goes through my phone.
I go through his phone.
And what do you think you're going to find in each other's phones?
That's crazy.
I hope I don't find anything.
Why do you feel like you have to go through it though?
Okay.
If you.
Or your child spent years growing up on social media and experienced serious mental health struggles, you should hear this.
Recently, a jury ordered Meta and YouTube to pay millions for the role in designing and promoting addictive platforms.
They knew their apps could contribute to anxiety, depression, and body image issues, but did not share those risks while prioritizing profits.
The recent historic verdict underscores the consequences of those decisions.
Now Morgan and Morgan is stepping up to hold these platforms accountable.
If they're not, they're not going to do what they're supposed to do.

Found out what?
With my ex.
Found out what?
Oh my.
And him?
Why does he feel like he has to go through your phone?
Same reason.
How often do you go through each other's phones?
I really hardly don't.
But then there was this other time he like snatched it out of my hand.
And so I kind of got suspicious there too.
What the fuck are you guys, man?
This makes no sense to me.
Okay.
So cheating.
Okay.
Well, we've had it on.
Is he allowed to be friends with other women on social media?
Is he allowed to follow other women on social media?
It depends.
On?
Like, does he know them like personally?
And if he does?
If he does, that's fine.
You're okay with him knowing women personally?
Yeah, of course.
And if he doesn't know them, he's not allowed to?
Like what's the point?
Follow a celebrity or something?
I don't know, a podcast?
That's, if he's never going to meet them, that's.
How do you know?
I don't know.
Why am I being told you forced him to go down?
From 2,000 followers to 120, though?
Following.
He was following 2,000 people and you brought him down to 120.
It's a little different than what you're saying.
Cause they were random ads.
He literally told me those are random ads that I added whenever I was single.
Why are you adding a thousand girls?
And why make them like archive?
I didn't really make him.
He offered.
All right, well, let's get into the finances.
Uh, what do you guys think your combined household financial score is?
Zero being the absolute worst, 10 being the absolute best.
Combined?
Yeah.
That's cause we are going into a marriage.
That is true.
We live together and we have kids.
I would say a three.
One.
Or it's the disagreement.
Why the disagreement?
I don't think it's that bad.
Cause we do blow our money on dumb shit.
I mean, well, I guess that makes it one.
You live with their parents.
You can't get your kids to their own place.
Right?
If you want your hammer financial score, take it for free at Caleb hammer.com.
It's been reassessed, remade.
It's now much more detailed series in each category.
It's a little bit more complicated.
Give me a better answer than that.
That's why you're here.
F*** you.
Tell me how you. Tell me how the f*** you think you can run a whole business, but you can't do this shit.
That's why I'm here.
Shut up.
I got to walk in and grow up.
What the f*** answer is that?
Get a better job.
It's not even just that.
No, are you misunderstanding my question?
How do you think you're able to run a full-on business when you can't even make a small $31.99 payment?
I was on hard times.
So that's why I did that stuff.
Are you still?
Because pay the f*** now then.
I was just going to let it go to collections.
Why?
I don't make enough to pay it.
You're going to need to borrow money to open this business.
You don't want to f*** your credit.
What are you talking about going to collections?
You're preventing this whole business.
No one's going to give you money.
You're going to have to go to f***ing banks.
Small business loan.
You're going to have to do something like that.
What the f***?
What are you talking about?
I mean, I got stuff I got to sell on Facebook Marketplace.
Good.
Do that.
Pay this off.
Well, I got an idea.
I've probably not told you this, so I'm going to tell you anyway.
Okay.
Anyway, so I do have some stuff, like some TVs and some home decor stuff.
I do have a storage unit and stuff.
Okay.
I worked at a resort.
Worked or work?
Worked.
I actually do work.
Anyway.
So I worked at the resort, and I was an inventory specialist,
and I would go.
I would go and make sure these rooms had what they needed in their room.
Okay.
I don't like where this is going.
I had access to their storage facilities.
Oh, my goodness.
One day, I noticed that they had no cameras in there or even around there
or even leading down to my car.
So they were about to remodel one of the towers at the resort,
and they had probably 100-something 48-inch TVs.
Oh, my f***, dude.
So it was a very slow day.
So I actually had to have somebody there with me to open it.
I didn't have a key for the storage unit.
But I did notice that there was a big space in the door,
so I got a butter knife, popped it right open,
went in there, took the TVs out of the box,
left the boxes, kind of put them back where they weren't messed with.
I loaded them into a big linen cart,
rolled about three TVs down to the trunk of my car,
put them in the trunk of the car.
I did this for like a week or two weeks.
What?
How f***?
Yeah, what the f***?
You're a father.
You want to marry a f***ing criminal like that piece of s***?
How many TVs did you take?
That's crazy.
How?
How do your morals even allow you to do that?
That's insane.
I mean, I was desperate.
Like, I needed money.
Then work more.
Be a productive member of society.
What do you mean you start thieving?
So it's okay when people steal from a grocery store?
It's okay when they steal from CVS?
They had money.
They could replace them.
I have money.
It's okay to steal from me?
I wouldn't do that.
Why do you steal from them?
That's not the point.
I don't know.
Just a lapse of judgment, I guess.
No, you're doing it continuously for a f***ing week.
That's not a lapse of judgment one little time.
We've all had a little lapse of judgment.
Huh?
It only took like between 12 to 15, not 20, but. Why haven't you sold them?
How long have you had them?
I've sold some.
What were you able to get for them?
Well, they're hospitality TVs, so I had to go in with a remote with a secret menu and unlock them.
I'm pretty tech savvy.
But you did that.
Yes, I did.
So you're good.
Yes.
How much did you sell?
How many for?
I sold a majority of them, so I would say over 10.
Um, 12-ish.
Um, because they were Samsung.
They're very nice TVs.
They probably could have went for more, but I was just trying to get money quick.
For what?
What were you using the money for?
Pay my bills.
No, this sounds like a f***ing addiction thing.
I don't do it anymore.
What did you do?
Oh, I was the resort, like, inventory specialist.
No, you sound like someone that steals something to get f***ing math.
I'm clearly on a myth.
Okay.
Okay.
So you were not addicted to something.
It was purely for bills?
Yeah, I was just desperate, honestly.
Worked more?
I'm so confused.
Especially for the money that you got from these TVs.
It was like $1,200.
You could have just worked more.
I'm so confused.
Well, honestly.
This wasn't, like, the most insane, life-changing money.
I do have to come clean about something else, too.
Oh, well, that wasn't clean enough.
Okay, yes.
Please.
So when I first met her and matched with her on Facebook Dating.
Of course.
I really, I don't know.
I fell head over heels.
I infatuated almost instantly, right?
So I was wanting to sell them.
I sold them, and I used some of that money, honestly, to buy her some gifts when we first got together.
You said you're desperate to pay your bills.
I mean, I was.
That doesn't sound desperate to pay your bills.
I mean, I made some money from it, so I had some extra, and I wanted to spoil her a little bit.
But, like, I didn't ask for them, you know, and especially with, like, that type of money.
Because, like, you made it seem that you had money.
Like, that you had money.
Like, you were on top of everything.
Because you would say, oh, I have this coming up.
I have this bill coming up.
I'll just pay it with this.
Are you a thief?
Who?
She stole my money.
You're okay with the gifts he has given you being from thieving?
I mean, no.
But I didn't know they were from thieving.
That seems like an underreaction to me.
What gifts does she have?
Are they still cherished?
Like, what is it?
Yeah, I have, like, some rings that he gave me.
I'm actually wearing an anklet he got me.
Yeah, but.
From the selling of the TVs, though.
Yeah.
Yeah, that was really stupid.
No, which one?
Oh, you guys suck so bad.
What gifts are from the selling of the TVs?
That I don't know.
That's why I'm asking.
The rings.
You know how you ended up breaking your daughter and son birthstone ring?
Yeah, it was cheap.
Well, I bought you that new one with the TV money for your, yeah.
Congratulations.
For Mother's Day.
That is stolen money.
Clorna.
Who has a Clorna in collections?
That's me.
Why is it in collections?
I just don't want to pay it.
It was $120.
Why not?
This is going to f*** your credit, which makes you get more predatory debt.
You want a car.
How are you going to get a car loan?
Good the f*** luck.
You know, if you're in a business, no.
You know, if you're in a private apartment, no.
It's so easy to clean up $120.
Boom.
You don't even make money, but you can pay that.
What?
I don't know.
I don't.
This is just too much for me.
This is too much for you?
Yeah.
Oh, she's starting to touch you.
Oh, he's stressing out.
Too much.
Talk to $120.
You're going to literally enable him for getting stressed at $120?
It's just a lot.
I mean, I know he has a lot.
No, $120 is actually not a lot.
That's what I'm trying to say.
Is you could just pay it off.
Overall, it's a lot.
So like.
Well, yeah, but we haven't even gotten into anything.
Okay.
Do not open a business.
You can't handle $120.
You will not be able to handle $120.
You will not be able to handle the stress of running a business.
So I got you.
No, I will never discuss anything with you ever after we are done filming.
You do not have me, in fact.
Please.
Jesus Christ.
What?
Yeah, he's acting weird, right?
Yeah.
Okay.
Not that weird.
All right.
Okay.
You have an additional Klarna of $149.
Okay.
Okay.
Afterpay.
Your afterpay.
Yep.
Okay.
I mean, you just have to, I mean, you kind of take some, you put some towards it.
That's kind of how it goes, but it's from Nicholas Charles fragrances and 1-800-CONTACTS.
I mean, that's fine to get contacts, but it's like fragrances, fragrances, fragrances.
He loves cologne.
I love cologne.
Designer cologne.
Pay to get a roof over your kid's head.
Like what?
I think that's more important.
You have child support?
Yes.
Okay.
I'll pay that.
I'll pay that.
Yeah, that's good.
But for the rest of it.
And supporting your children, get a roof over their head instead of financing expensive
cologne.
What the are you doing, man?
Like this is pathetic.
They have a roof right now.
Her parents are helping us.
Yeah, but that's not you doing it.
They don't have a roof over.
This is how they're going to look at their parents.
This is, and it's pathetic.
You both are pathetic the way you are raising your kids.
And I hope you know that.
They love us at least.
They're being raised, right?
Huh?
How?
You're living in the basement of your parents.
And they're happy.
You don't know that.
You can't speak for them.
They don't have.
They don't have their own space.
Not have a place to bring their friends over.
They bring them over.
And they're not embarrassed.
They will be.
And they're pretty young right now.
Yeah.
So we got a 12 year old doesn't live there.
So it's three, eight, five.
Yeah.
We got time to make it happen.
Okay.
Well, yeah.
Again, not putting prioritizing cologne over that anyway, regardless if you're satisfied
there and you're never going to get another place at this point.
I mean, I feel like she's out of my league anyway, so I just want to.
For one, give her a lot of gifts, smell good out of your league, dude.
She's a 10.
Look at her.
I'm not sharing, but she, she is some fine shit.
What the are you on about?
What do you mean?
She's gorgeous.
You guys are looks matched.
That's what I say all the time.
Oh, you what?
Yeah.
Your looks matched.
Yeah.
We're on the same level.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
Okay.
I don't know what you think about yourself, but what the.
Okay.
What is this?
That is let's what is that?
Can I see it?
Oh yes.
That is.
So I found a new app.
That's kind of like after pay and clarinet.
It's called four.
And what are you utilizing it for?
I bought a JBL Bluetooth speaker.
That was $200.
That's how much it costs.
I didn't tell you.
No.
Well, you said you discussed finances.
Do you know that?
easily.
a lot yeah okay we use it a lot but like we i'll talk to him about stuff i purchased i'll be like
hey giving you a heads up um but then he will just buy it and not tell me until after it's here and
he'll be like oh it wasn't much um i can afford it well because why do you need mommy you already
do it before you put to me that's why i just bought it i can't open this i got you okay well
you don't make much money you spent a third of your paycheck that's why i do it on payment plans
it just that doesn't mean you can afford it like i'm confused it's a nice speaker
okay i have a spending limit on that like this is literally just a blacked out statement i don't
know what the fuck am i looking that is my spending limit right now on the four app
i got a lot to work with okay yeah you owe 51 22 and that's your next payment and then it's paid
off but um okay uh 75 cents in this clarna
it's nothing oh i see
okay what am i looking at here
it's all him that might be my bank account my checking account no there's remaining payments
and let me see if you don't mind thank you this must this is topped up i don't know
um debt purchasing power like dave you're saying um
there's something that you don't know about how many how many things she doesn't know about
okay he hides everything from you no shit you guys have trust issues so
all those are from one of my other jobs i had um you could payroll deduct stuff and it comes out
of your paycheck over time um you know that trip we went down to tennessee to see my daughter
um and i got the one night stay at that nice resort yes uh it was nine hundred dollars for the night
um you know the window air conditioner that i put in your room that's the one that you said
but you just had in your storage yeah was what it was new but it was i said i told you it was
used but it wasn't used i bought a brand new because why do you why do you have to lie about
things like that that doesn't even matter why not just tell her like what the what are we talking
about why do you have to just lie that's what i'm saying he buys it and then he tells me about it
which even still like okay tell me how much it is like i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't
know what it is like that's bad but you make it worse by literally just lying about what you
purchased afterward and how much it was why do you do that we needed the she needed it no one's
arguing against that why do you lie i don't you don't yes you did you just did you admitted it
why'd you lie i guess she's gonna judge me for it or think i'm broke because i think you're broke
you guys are together wouldn't you you guys are broke together this is towards the beginning of
about eight months ago but you know that laptop that i was seven years old i was seven years old
i won at a raffle at work that was on that too and you asked me what was funny about it you asked
me he's like is this another payroll deducting no what is going through your head right now this
man literally lies about everything this is actually kind of blowing my mind like what else
are you lying about like what honestly good question would even admit it i don't know probably
not that's all i mean i just how do you feel what's going through your head just like confused i guess
i'm the one that's like if you tell me up front i'll i might be mad at it but if you lie to me
about it i'm mad about the first thing and now i'm mad about the line i mean so now i'm mad at
two things instead of just the one she'll eventually get over it how can she ever trust
you again it's just monetary things she already doesn't she already told me she goes to your
phone and you go through hers it's not like i'm cheating on her maybe i don't know you're very
good at hiding things clearly we got nice stuff what can i say in a basement at her parents house
yes exactly that's luxury er pay plus that's another one that's kind of like dave so are you
doing every paying for every pay advance every thing that any can do that has access to shit
online well these businesses don't need to be open and do that to enable people so you're trying to
make a monthly payment on this or is it just paying it down so you can use it is that how it
works how i got it was um i linked it to my one of my old bank accounts and you make the first
payment for it it was a motorized scooter because i'm like hey i don't have a car let's get a
motorized does he use it everywhere no he sold it you i made one payment and i sold it for 300 bucks
and then you still owe on this for 832 dollars and 27 cents they haven't knocked on my door yet
uh you've missed a scheduled payment so they will oh so it's suspended oh so it's probably in
collections man what a joke what a pathetic waste of space it's not that bad okay great yeah you want
to be with that good luck she does yeah i feel like she's the one that wants to be here to change
you're just a pathetic waste of space that she is bringing along with her for no reason i'm not that
more collections first premiere why is it in collections piece of shit uh that's a credit
card i had have yes why is it in collections was actually the question if you remember um
i was using it to buy her more gifts um i was using to pay bills
groceries um 722 on a 400 dollar limit yeah and to pay the try to pay the dave ish kind of thing
app things so do you like take loans out to pay for other things is that how that works sometimes
okay which i mean again i am not an anti-debt person you can be smart with that that can even
be a tool to pay off debt we have personal loans on calebhammer.com at very good rates we have
uh car insurance on calebhammer.com we have lots of financial services that
are not there uh but either way the thing is i'm not anti that but it doesn't make sense to do if
you one can't afford like if you're i i pay in for sometimes but i can afford the payment it makes
sense you don't pay in for if you can't even afford the initial purchase price and we're not
transferring credit cards to pay off debt with that if you can't pay off that because then you
end up in debt even more it's just hard man oh it's hard hey it's hard it's hard sounds like
you never get a roof over your head that isn't in your parents house it's hard dude shut down
at 120 he's a broken individual why are you betting your life on him 125 and synchrony
going to collections i treat her good huh i treat her good it would be well but i mean does he
is this treating you well bringing you into this and not telling you hey you shook your head yes
that he treats you well we learned about three individual lives so far in the last like 10
minutes he treats you well that's treating you well that's what a partner does to treat them
well sounds like you're gonna be treated well
huh he'll do things for me yeah like why yeah it's not that bad you're ready to be
treated well for the rest of your life that's gonna be fantastic i'll stop lying it's fine
why the do you stay with him i see his potential what you're not you're not a fix a man kind of
person what potential how are you fixing this potential what potential he's a good guy like
he's a good father he's a good father okay a good guy is a classic guy that we screen record
messages when he's crashing out
on you and she found the screenshots when we pause by the way we'll go through them in the
post show because there's a lot of finances to go through here does he he doesn't even
that's right he doesn't even know you did what oh my you guys suck at being partners that's why
maybe we're not engaged eight months in huh we're meant to be together uh-huh yeah says the people

funny it's all him 384 oh even more geez okay collections 1346 oh if it's not collections 822
dollars oh if it's not collections
965 dollars
who would have thought it's collections yeah you're never getting money to get a car to borrow
business to get a food truck to get equipment you're oh if it isn't collections shocker blows
my mind 711 dollars this dude could be paying off that and improving his credit score in about
five seconds but he's choosing not to good i finally have an account of yours
may you tell me what i'm looking at
some of you people i can't see i have to wear contacts and glasses
Well, now that it's closer, you seem to not know what it is either.
I mean, some of these are payments.
That's like car payments.
What's the account I'm looking at?
My car account.
The loan.
Yeah, it's the loan.
It's very dark.
It's an automatic.
It's at 8.25%.
What's the car?
It's a Hyundai Elantra 2019.
When did you get this?
20, 21.
It's a bad interest rate, lady.
Oh, it started out even worse.
It started at like 11.
300, Corey, that's your refinance.
$340, two cent payment.
All right.
Balance currently started at 12,000.
It's at $9,203.08.
Okay.
What do you think it's worth?
Nothing.
I went on Carvana and they said it was worth like 12,000.
Yeah, no, it's five.
Carvana, you don't get a value.
I mean, Carvana, no, that's the KBB.
What are you on about?
What?
You okay?
We need to sell it.
We need a minivan.
Yeah, we need to sell it like bad.
I had a minivan for a while, but.
I mean, you can't sell it.
Why do you need to sell it?
So we can get a minivan.
So we can carry like all our kids around at once.
Oh my, why'd you get this car?
Because it was before.
No, we weren't together.
It was before.
You can't get a mini.
You can't sell this.
There's no selling this.
You want to buy it?
He's annoying.
He's an annoying individual.
Trying to have a real conversation here.
It's not that bad.
Are you just like repeating phrases?
No.
You've said it's not that bad about approximately four times
when there's like just air and you don't know what to say.
So you, it's worth about half what you owe.
Okay.
Where's the selling?
I mean, I guess you could sell it, borrow 4,000,
pay it off and then pay off the four.
But then you're going to borrow for a minivan?
Maybe she is.
I don't know what, I mean, this is her first that I'm looking at.
You wouldn't be able to, you, you being a cosigner would drag it down.
You can't get a minivan.
Her parents would sign for her.
Oh my gosh, you're 30 and 35.
You're 30 and 35.
That is pathetic.
Grow up.
You will never learn anything.
Cause mommy and daddy will be there to bail you out at every turn.
You never have to improve your life.
The resources and we're using them.
Not her parents.
Resources.
That's incredible.
I hope they see this.
There's a little slip right there.
Your parents are resources.
I didn't mean it like that.
You said it and yes, you did.
Your brain certainly thinks so.
You guys are 30 and 35, even though you look like you're in your fifties.
You guys are going to be cooked forever because you will never learn anything.
I feel like my parents have done pretty good so far.
I didn't mean to call them resources.
It was, resources are available and we're going to use them when we can.
I can get it alone.
Probably another one.
It's a good idea.
What price minivan are you going to get?
I was hoping.
I was hoping for like, I don't know, buy one with cash or something.
Sell the car, whatever.
Hey, what was my question?
You people are so broken.
Whatever I can afford.
Oh my goodness.
What price are you considering?
Under 1200.
Under 1200?
Maybe.
You're cooked.
I don't know what you think the car market is like.
I was thinking 10.
10 at a minimum.
10,000.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Because you want one that you're not pumping hundreds, if not thousands of dollars into to repair.
This isn't Dave Ramsey.
We live in reality over here.
You ain't getting a car for under 10 that's going to be halfway decent.
I don't know what to do.
Yes, I know.
Thank you for your contribution to this conversation.
You're welcome.
1200?
I don't know how much cars are worth.
Then why is this even in your plan?
How are you planning about something you know nothing about?
How are we going to take trips to go get my daughter and stuff with all the kids?
We have to have a minivan.
Yeah, we have to have a minivan.
I didn't argue against that.
Did you hear me argue against that?
I'm arguing with the pricing thing.
You guys are broken.
You guys cannot have conversations.
No wonder you guys fight all the time.
You can't even listen to me.
You're both unable to listen to me at the same time.
Like you both heard the same thing that is something different than what I said.
It's actually impressive.
You talk very fast, to be fair.
Fast for Kentucky?
I mean, it's not that bad.
Michigan.
That's where you're from, right?
Yes.
Okay.
It's just as bad.
Very good.
It's just as bad.
As Kentucky?
Yeah.
Kentucky's not that bad.
Yeah.
I have your checking account.
You have $102 in it.
Yes.
You're pathetic.
You're a father.
Because there's for bills.
Shut the fuck up.
What do you mean?
Those bills, by the way, are an Apple subscription of some kind.
Even though he works there, another Apple Bell, Microsoft Store, and Apple Bell.
Apple pays probably.
Dairy Queen.
Dairy Queen.
A steam purchase of $42.
They're just bills.
They're bills, Caleb.
They're just bills.
He went into the gas station, got some bullshit.
Energy drinks.
Yeah.
Fuck you.
Get gamer subs.
Here's the flavor.
I would actually get liquid assets.
We don't have any extra to give because they bought them all because it's so delicious.
We'll get them.
We'll get them eventually.
Liquid assets or gamer subs.
Get free samples.
Link in the description below.
You can only get free samples with my code, Caleb.
And then you can get it 10% off when you figure out the flavor you like.
It's 40 cents a serving.
Make your energy drink at home.
That's what you got to do.
You're not stopping and getting those $8 drinks.
That's crazy.
You're insane, dude.
I'm addicted.
Premium seat.
American Airlines.
American Airlines.
And you got some energy drinks again.
You double fist, don't you?
You walk out with two.
Two energy drinks?
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's a good deal.
Two for $3 or something like that.
Two for like $6.50.
Why would you not?
Well, because that's 40 cents a serving.
I mean, I agree with you there.
But, but.
I mean, there you go.
It was math.
It even tastes good, so.
It does.
Okay.
That's why they all get it.
Their opinion.
Yes, their opinion.
Like a handle.
That it tastes good.
Okay.
Okay.
But then I have another checking account here.
Machine Gun Kelly.
Come on.
Sorest concert I've ever been to in my life.
That's for my daughter.
That was for his daughter.
Birthday.
Is your daughter cutting herself?
No.
She's an alt girl.
Yeah.
That shit's emo and horrible.
What's wrong with me and emo?
I'm an elder.
Cutting.
I'm an elder emo.
Not every emo.
Walls the street, not going down the road.
Not every emo cuts themselves.
Cat's Eye Official.
I don't know.
Kroger, Apple Bill, Apple Bill, Apple Bill.
And there it is.
More energy drinks.
Apple Bill, Apple Bill.
What are these Apple Bills you're getting?
Lots of Apple.
Give me.
Show me your subscriptions on your phone.
Hammer Elite.
Crazy.
Is one of them.
Well, that one's worth it.
Chill out.
Chad GVT.
Okay.
Pull it up and I'll get it.
And you pull up the screenshots too that.
What screenshots?
It's the, it's the one.
It's the one that you said he didn't know that you didn't know.
What the do you mean?
Well, it's okay.
We'll get into it.
I want to see your thing.
I'm going to do it.
Cause your dynamic is.
You guys open this so weird.
I need to actually like, as we're closing the episode, I need to start seeing some things.
Gotcha.
This is the start.
I thought you were going to show me what you sent your friend.
This.
Yeah.
This is like her replies back to me.
I sent her.
I just need the screenshots.
Yeah.
These are.
I sent her the whole thing.
This is the whole thing.
She sent screenshots back of what she thought was.
Bad.
Alarming.
Okay.
Then show me.
Yes.
Right here.
Yeah.
Alarming of.
Alarming.
GPT.
Yeah.
But hammerly it's expiring.
I've got to be on a budget.
Piece of shit.
Pay for it for a laugh then for me.
I think you do.
Cause you're a guest on the show.
Okay.
Yeah.
You have a lot of subscriptions, but this, and clearly at the beginning of the conversation,
you guys, this dynamic is weird.
She recorded your guys's text conversations to send to her.
Friend again, as usual, without each other knowing, cause you guys are crazy, but I'm
going to look at her now and see how you guys actually communicate.
Will you read them to me?
Cause I don't know what the shit is.
Yes, I will.
You were saying, I'm scared.
I'm going to have a heart attack.
You're saying, I guess you were fighting.
And she says 10 times better way to say that you say, so excuse the enemy for being worried.
She says, not letting me finish bitching makes me more stressed.
Now I know.
You say I, okay.
He says, okay, why shake your head?
She says, you want me to talk.
What am I supposed to say to that?
And you send this to who?
To your friend.
That's up.
So violated by you doing that.
I needed another opinion on it because I didn't know it.
That's between us though.
I don't, can I get a minute?
I really cannot take this.
Okay.
Now take a minute.
This is bullshit.
She should not be okay.
You want to step outside?
Okay.
Yeah.
I mean, I agree.
That is privacy.
If dude, if my girl was sending like screenshots, that is pretty crazy.
Like what is wrong?
And first of all, I mean, can we acknowledge like what the, there was nothing bad in there?
Like, what are you, what are you freaking out about?
I think it's worse.
Where does it get worse?
Show me.
Cause there's literally nothing.
I swear.
She's teasing me for like an hour.
Do you just edge?
Men is that your passion?
Cause, uh, there was nothing there.
I'll be honest.
I understand.
Yeah.
His privacy feels violated and you guys have weird trust issues, but show me what is bad.
Cause so far you're just being a normal woman these days where the most normal thing is considered a nuclear pack.
Where's the bad thing, bitch.
Here's this part.
So something I could, is this a screenshot?
Yeah.
Okay.
He says could throw a hole in every wall.
he texted i don't is he punching walls no
why do you think you're a victim what the f**k is wrong with you sending this to your friends
you say awesome and he says because no matter what i do i set you off and i think that's true
he's right no matter what the f**k he does you're crashing the f**k out
i breathe i make you mad he says yes and you agree with it you say because i because he doesn't

you got mad i said please calm down before you get sick you got mad i'm about to lose my f**k fine
so close to a psychotic break
and you circled that she did yeah because you are pushing him to a psychotic break
how is he never dramatic huh no it's impossible to communicate with you like this all started
because i was in the bathroom sick as a dog throwing up and he was getting mad that i was
even up there and he kept yelling at me well like i'm not seeing anything in the text that is like
you he's like it sounds like
he went up to pee you got upset in this conversation
and he's very upset that literally he can't exist around the house without you freaking out
and that's fair if someone man or woman doesn't matter just has to tiptoe around their entire
house and it's not a safe place to be so do i he was literally you're not saying that he was
accusing me of cheating while i was sick he was so upset that i couldn't be down there with him
because he needed me well that's
crazy but that's not in here do you have something real to show me because so far you are looking
like kind of someone who just goes crazy by screenshotting their dude being upset he was
upset he didn't punch holes in the wall he said i feel like i could that was it that was it it wasn't

but stomach acid is coming up you can't leave kid name
he says i'm bringing him too i cannot refuse i cannot refuse to go two nights without you
that's a bit weird yeah definitely weird and you said don't disturb him and he says his mind
thinks of horrible things yeah you guys have issues man you said i'm so sick what could i
possibly be doing he says i don't know anything you said i'm just throwing up my whole stomach
he says if you don't want me to sleep with me just tell me okay yeah okay he's acting weird
here for sure he's not hurting you but he's being a freak for sure you said i'm bringing him too
are you serious i'm throwing up and he says why can't you get a bucket and sleep down here with
me okay yeah again it's weird it is very weird you say because it's awful okay i get it i get it
yeah now he's acting like a little freak there for sure but you sent that to your friends like
again i thought maybe you made it sound like he was you literally made it sound like he was blowing
up at you and screaming at you in the text where that he's just acting like a definitely a freak
for sure and selfish selfish
but he's not blowing up and yelling at you it's i i don't know what to do and 401k 14 000 very
behind for our age where is he where is he can we get him need him for the budget if he's ready
to come back there he is okay you feeling okay i mean for what it's worth the text didn't really
show you doing anything you were definitely selfish with you she was like throwing up one day
and you were acting a bit weird but she she made it sound like when you wore your headphones on
this you were like screaming at her
and like no it's not like that so she's like trying to victimize herself in a weird way i
don't really understand so i mean you're fine but just you definitely acted very weird when
she was throwing up what was up with that i felt like she was hiding something that's weird and
toxic of you well get your shit together i need therapy you can't yes objectively both of you do
you can't be together if you can't trust someone if you can't trust that person do you have rent
dear parents what a joke what a pathetic
joke you guys aren't paying off your you utilities internet no no how does the food situation work
with the household groceries we get groceries for everyone no they get groceries just for you guys
and half time three kids okay you should be able to do 900 bucks a month you're meal prepping
yeah yes it i don't care you're meal prepping okay a few times a week you're warming shit up
i can do that you're using the cookbook in the meal plan it's not that difficult phone bill how
much who's mine his my i'm sorry my phone is through my dad so it's 24 and mine is 47 a month
yeah i would switch the healing we need to need to get your own line 15 bucks a line
really very good yeah good service gas from from drive drive how much
eighty hundred dollars a month eighty hundred dollars eighty two okay a hundred uh i filled
the jeep up 20 bucks that lasts for like a month month and a half 120.
car insurance how much mine is 136 tp fund how much uh okay that's for you and the kids anything
else to survive 300 hours that's tampons it's taking them to school activities all that good
stuff goes up and down but 300 and then what is covered in that 300 is different every month so
yeah okay medical health care how much co-pays medications all that good stuff i have medicaid
um my co-pays range from 25 to 50.
what's your child support is it taken out from your pay uh no i'll pay i can't shop her um so
it's 137 for um my daughter and then it's roughly 200 a month for my son yeah okay and what did you
say your medical was total co-pays and everything uh we'll say 50 any gym we want to but no okay
gym 50 bucks uh subscription sell put 50 bucks you got any pets well a cat casper yeah okay 50 bucks
pet insurance how much for cat food and litter 60 bucks a month anything else that needs to be in
this budget um what do you got so far i'm sorry the tp fund would be like for school supplies and
things for the kids okay again it changes what it goes to on a monthly basis but yes
it's the catch-all for everything else you make it more detailed in your dollar wise budget right
you guys have leftover money two thousand four hundred ninety one dollars and 24 cents
it go yeah it's a bullshit because she spends every dime on tim hortons and everything yeah
you missed that but she spends a lot of money he makes my coffee now so that's stopped oh a basic
minimum one thousand two hundred dollars needed to survive uh what was it you don't even have to
like collections we can negotiate later okay the big bad scary debts right now
i mean yeah so let's save up four thousand dollars get rid of this but then you have to get ten
thousand dollars you'll get a ten thousand dollar jeep that's okay
okay let's pretend yeah so let's make it let's make the car balance actually
14,000 hours is what you're going to borrow for,
sell the car, and pay that off,
and then get a 10,000-hour loan for a minivan.
Okay.
Plus 15,000, 12,000, 12,000.
The thing else is some collections, dude.
And you're paying all that off in 11 months.
And then the collections, you're just negotiating
or paying off one-to-one.
Right.
So that's actually pretty easy.
It's like a year, and then maybe another year
to negotiate collections, then get a fully funded
emergency fund, then move out.
You can have your own place.
That's really nice because your credit's a lot better.
You guys can totally do that.
You have a paid-off minivan.
Everything's totally fine.
Then maybe we get your own car as well.
Then you're doing 50-25-25.
You need to catch up on your retirement.
50% of the needs, which you can do.
And this business thing I'm very concerned about.
We'll talk more about that in the post show
because I need to taste what you can do first.
I got you.
And yeah, you guys will be on track for retirement,
but we need to think
career at that point.
But pay off
all the debts and the car and the minivan
and everything that you're going to get,
and that'll take 11 months, and you'll be fine.
Then fully fund an emergency fund,
then move the fuck out and start catching up on retirement.
It's really not that difficult.
You just need to figure out what you want to do for your career.
Okay, let's get there and have a financial score.
In the post show, we're definitely going to taste this thing.
We're going to go over the screenshot shit with him
and get his takes on it because he was trying to manipulate
and do some weird stuff here.

We've got to break it down, and I don't know how you guys are going to survive.

Podcast Summary
Key Points:
A couple from Lexington, Kentucky, shares a strained relationship marked by poor financial management, frequent arguments, and lack of trust, despite being engaged and planning to marry.
The couple earns very low combined incomes—$3,696 per month—with one partner working as a lunch lady and the other in food service, living in their parents’ basement and struggling with high debt and minimal savings.
Financial disagreements stem from one partner’s control over household finances, lack of transparency, and a pattern of secrecy, including phone surveillance and emotional outbursts, revealing deeper issues of trust and mental health.
Summary:

The household in the episode has a financial score of around 3 out of 10, due to low combined income, living with parents, lack of savings, and high debt. It reflects poor financial management and limited financial stability.
Personal finance is crucial because it directly affects the household's ability to cover bills, save for the future, and provide stability for children. Poor financial habits can lead to stress, conflict, and lack of financial security for the family.
Relying on social media can lead to addictive behaviors, poor financial decisions, and trust issues. The episode highlights how platforms like YouTube and social media may promote addictive content and privacy violations, impacting mental health and relationships.
Lack of financial transparency creates distrust and conflict. In the episode, both partners go through each other’s phones and hide financial details, leading to anger, suspicion, and poor communication, which harms the relationship.
It is extremely difficult. The episode shows that the couple has less than $4,000 in combined savings and earns only $1,500 monthly, making it nearly impossible to fund a food truck business without significant debt or external investment.
