Haley Stevens' Meltdown

Haley Stevens' Meltdown

Haley Stevens, a progressive Democratic candidate, made a controversial last-minute endorsement of Republican Mike Rogers just days before the election, after being disinvited from an event by his campaign. This move, seen as politically reckless and a betrayal of party principles, has sparked widespread criticism. Critics argue it reflects petty political maneuvering rather than policy-based reasoning, undermining Stevens’ credibility and alienating fellow Democrats. The incident highlights deeper fractures in the Democratic Party, particularly around Israel policy and ideological loyalty. Meanwhile, Abdul El Sayed’s statements on trans issues and racial dynamics are condemned as dismissive and illogical—such as claiming children are exposed to pornography through school, when it’s clear such exposure is not widespread. His remarks, especially implying that white people are inherently unkind or unprepared, are seen as racially charged and offensive. The episode critiques the hypocrisy of progressive leftism, which often demonizes white people while ignoring systemic inequities. It also points out a fundamental flaw in socialist economics: the tragedy of the commons, where free access to goods leads to misuse and overconsumption, as seen in the example of people buying expensive items like salmon without cost. Ultimately, the discussion underscores how political polarization, poor communication, and ideological incoherence can undermine democratic discourse and lead to damaging personal and political consequences.

What's up, what's up, everybody? Welcome to a brand new episode of part of the problem. I am Dave Smith. He is Robbie, the fire burn stain. How are you feeling today, sir? I'm doing well at a busy weekend, did a bunch of reading, trying to punch up my FBI thing a little bit. How about you? Oh, yeah, man, I can't complain. I'm got a lot of stuff, a lot of stuff coming up that I'm excited about. Okay, so, but okay, yeah, I should announce now tomorrow's show will not be at the normal 1 p.m. live. It'll be at 3 p.m. And then we'll try, I don't know what that, how, if that'll affect, I'll have to talk to Natalie if that'll affect the turnaround rate. But we'll get the show up as soon as we can for tomorrow night. Of course, tomorrow is election day. I am going down to Washington, DC near all those evil people to go do the Pierce Morgan uncensored show. I'm doing, so Rob, I'm doing a live panel. I think we got from what I understand, it's going to be like a four hour live panel. And it's me, this is what I was told so far, which I actually kind of think is interesting here. It's me, Nancy Mace, and the guy whose name I cannot remember, but the Pajat or something, I don't know how you say it, but do you remember Rob, when we did the episode, we responded to his video where he was like, he's the guy who was like bragging that like, you messed up when you let the Browns in because now the Browns are here and we're and you're, you're women like us and we, you know, reproduce more than you or whatever. So it's like, I'm going to be on with him the night that the Browns take the country, you know? And so that's going to be, it is just like, I don't know, there should be a lot of fun things to argue about there. And we got like hours and hours from what I understand. So I don't know. I think it'll be cool. It should be a fun show. I'll get, you know, opportunity to say a lot of, and you know, hopefully say some dope shit in front of a big audience. But yeah, I don't know. It's kind of, it's a little bit of a weird, you know, situation to be in Rob. What it feels kind of like, I don't know. It feels like in a way, we have kind of been spending the last year waiting for everyone else to catch up to kind of where we were on what it was inevitably happening here. And I think that tomorrow is going to do a lot to catch people up on that. Anyway, that's a, it is kind of a strange show to do because you can't celebrate either outcome because every time a Democrat does get in, you get to go, good, Donald Trump's learning is lasting and we can all understand no one likes what he's doing. And hopefully they'll walk him out of this war. But on the same side, you're like shit, another Democrat got in. Yep. Yep. And it's, oh, it's a very interesting position because of course you, you see where there is this thing where L. Syed say, for example, we're going to get into him in a second here. But here's a guy who, you know, in terms of domestic policies, he's really no different than a Democrat. I mean, he says he's for Medicare for all. That's his big radical, you know, thing. He says he's not a socialist. He's just like for more, you know, welfare or whatever you want to call it, more socialism. Right. Right. So like, okay. But then he's very anti Israel and he's very anti foreign aid and he's very anti the war in Iran. And like, okay, credit to him for being against all those things that are good to be against. But he's constantly there. Rob, like, look, the thing, the point I'm making here is like the entire establishment hates his guts over the Israel issue. You know, obviously, there have a problem with Medicare for all. And any pro Israel person like Haley Stevens says she's for Medicare for all. They have no problem with that. Okay. So what they do have an issue with is the Israel thing, which we don't have an issue with. But then L. Syed is here the whole time going, hey, can we just talk about prices, unaffordability and so you're like, oh, so he only wants to talk about the things he's terrible on. In other words, from our perspective. So yeah, there's no one to root for. You get Mike Rogers, terrible on on foreign policy or you get, you get, okay, we're going to get one more vote in the US Senate against wars. Like that's not nothing. But man, it's going to be a bad vote for other things. Anyway, do you also want to mention before we start getting into this, because I really do want to talk about this truly, truly remarkable story. Can I plug porches real quick? Yes. I wanted to, I wanted to finish plugs. So yes, plug your porches. And then of course, we got San Diego this weekend, which I'm very excited for American comedy company. Come on out. One of my favorite stops of the year and Rob, you got a bunch of porches coming up real quick. I got a Gwanga, California, man and Ville LA and New York City pub key, porchdoor.com and then a couple more dates dropping soon. Beautiful, beautiful. So come on out comic Dave Smith.com. If you want to come out this, this weekend in San Diego and porch tour.com for all Rob's dates. All right. So Rob, Hayley Stevens comes out. Hayley's it for anybody who's not following this, right? Elsa Ed, who we've covered a bit on the show. He's running against Mike Rogers for the US Senate in, in Michigan. And he's a favorite. There's slight favorite in a competitive race to win. As we just said, who these guys are, Rogers, essentially just a standard old Republican War Hawk establishment hack. Elsa Ed is really a star in the Democratic party right now. One of their kind of like most charismatic young leaders who looks like he is on his way to being a United States Senator is a very big deal. Hayley Stevens is currently the Senator in that seat. She lost the primary to Elsa Ed, but Hayley Stevens has always been kind of just like she's not like a Joe Manchin. You know what I mean, Rob? She's not like the conservative Democrat who breaks with the party often and sometimes goes with Republicans. She's like, she's an Israel supporter, but aside from that, she's just a progressive. She's just a, you know, like voting record of voted with Biden 94% of the time type of Senator. Something like that. By the way, double check my comments. It's like something. Huh? Isn't she a connoisseur? No, no, no, she's a center. This is a, a, a city. She's, yes. So anyway, so we, okay, so I'm trying to just like get the story exactly right here. So she basically had said she's going to support this guy. He beat her in the primary. She's a Democrat. Rob, of course, you got to understand she was preparing to run against, um, Rogers, right? So she's been, this is, I can't, I can't even express this to you. Rob, obviously what we get to is she comes out and just endorsed Mike Rogers. Did you know, Rob down to this detail? This is how crazy it is because you know how political rhetoric is. Her pinned tweet was still, we must stop Mike Rogers who will rubber stamp the Trump agenda while she endorsed him. She, to be clear. So what happened was first her husband or her fiance, I guess came out and it was known that like he wasn't going to, he was voting for Rogers. And I guess then the El Sayed campaign took offense to that and like disinvited her to like an event or something like that. And then she flipped over that. So Rob, again, to be clear, I've never seen anything like this before two days before the election, the person who is a sitting senator who's in the party is coming out endorsing the Republican. And Rob, just to be clear again, she's been saying the entire time that, um, you know, that fascism and democracy are on the ballot. Rob, this is quite, this might be, I mean, you've seen the projections, the Senate is very close. It's not clear who's going to control the Senate at the end of tomorrow. This could be the difference. This like could be, she literally like could be handing the Republicans, you know, the Senate theoretically again, um, if her endorsement were to, to matter much, I don't think it will. But anyway, Rob, that's kind of the, the, I think the nuts and bolts of the story. I don't know any thoughts on any of this. I find this to be really wild. Before we go to clip, just, uh, based off of what you're saying, uh, I love the idea of the Senate flipping over petty women stuff, like not getting a breakfast invite. So if that's actually the story, by the way, I am sorry about all this. She's not a senator representative. You were right about that. I'm sorry. I just got confused in my head, but, um, but I think it's a parent that for once again, for some people, Israel is actually the number one issue. And so she is a flipping to try and make a dent, uh, which will benefit the Republicans at the expense of the Democratic party, uh, because Israel to her and is actually the more important issue. Yes. By the way, my mistake on that, she's, you were right about that. She's a member of the House of Representatives running for Senate, not the incumbent Senate seat. I'm sorry. I got that wrong in my head. But this is for the race for the Senate. So the point about that. All right, guys, let's take a moment and think our sponsor for today's show, which is blunt work where I love this company. I've been telling you about them for a while. They make the best pair of work boots you will ever own. They are as comfortable as a warning pair of tennis shoes, uh, and they will stand up to any job. And here's the craziest part. Brunt workwear actually lets you wear their boots to work before deciding if you want to keep them real job site days, not just walking around your house. And if they're not right for you, you send them back for a full refund. So it's 100% risk-free trial. They let you test drive the boots. That's how good they are because they know they're going to hold up. They're going to love them. You're not going to be sending them back. They sent me a pair of boots. I used them all last winter doing, you know, shoveling snow and plowing and everything. They totally hold up very comfortable. Great pair of boots. I was amazed at how durable and comfortable they were. Additionally, for a limited time, our listeners will get $10 off at brunt when you use the promo code problem at checkout. You just go to bruntworkwear.com, use the promo code problem for $10 off. You can test the boots out a risk-free test drive of the boots, unheard of, unheard of, at least by me before. Check them out, genuinely, very sturdy pair of work boots that are incredibly comfortable. Bruntworkwear.com promo code problem for $10 off. All right. Let's get back on the show. Yes, dude, it also, I don't know, Rob, that to me, and literally when you say it's woman drama, look, a few other things that should be mentioned here, right? And this is part of the reason why this is going to really, really backfire for her, and only help. I'll say it, and absolutely destroy her future political career. She is, she, she just, Vivek Ramaswamy herself for no reason. But so she was the A-pack candidate, right? She's very, very pro-Israel. But also because he's so critical of Israel, they flooded that market. Like they did at Thomas Massey, and it didn't work in this case. It did cut it down. If you remember, he had like a huge lead, and then he ended up only barely getting by her. And big part of that was like the $30 plus million that the Israel lobby sent in there, right? So now, when she comes out and supports this guy, it, it sets off all the kind of spidey senses for people of like a conspiracy. Oh, of course the A-pack candidate came out knife to him in the back right before. What really just adds to that, Rob, is that she doesn't even give a substantive reason other than like he disinvited her. It's not even over like an issue of policy. It's over like, I feel offended or something like that. But Rob, the more you look, look, the thing here is right. Everyone's going to view this as a conspiracy. The truth is, Rob, it's not, it's not. This is just a crazy chick. That's literally all this is because let me tell you something, the entire Democratic establishment snapped into defending the guy after she just came out and did this because even they realized like no, we don't have the option to do this. The person who lost the primary doesn't get to come and make demands two days before. She was making demands that he apologized for his criticism of Israel like you guys ran an election and he won on largely on this topic. Why would he walk that back? Anyway, just a crazy own goal if you ask me, what do you think? Yeah, I think she was asking him to condemn an ad which he had not made. It was a super back ad that was kind of dumb, but it was against foreign aid to Israel, but kind of blaming foreign aid to Israel for high prices. Yeah, I think it was people. I didn't actually watch the ad. I just read the description that it was people shopping in a store and looking at eggs and going, oh, too bad. I can't afford these because we spent all the money supporting Israel or something along those lines. You should have said, if you should have said because we spend all the money fighting wars on behalf of Israel, but when you just make it about the military age, that's not the numbers aren't going to add up. And he said he refuses to play the condemn game. And then, I guess she went full, you can't not have me at breakfast mode. >> Yeah, here. Let's check in with Haley Stevens. >> People, and in fact, I've been hearing from a ton of Dems Anderson who said, thank you. This is how we felt. We haven't liked this campaign. It's painful. Debbie Dingell has said that repeatedly. I think when I was talking to her at noon yesterday, she was saying that. And so this is all going to come to an end. I'm casting my vote a certain way, and I hope to see more kindness within the Democratic Party. And for all of us to just accept when somebody has a disagreement, I mean, that's fine. I changed my mind. He said, hey, I don't need your endorsement. That's fine. And why the anger, why the frustration, why the obsession with Iran, and all these other issues about what's going on overseas? What are we going to do here in this country? >> We pause. >> Can I get the petty stuff out of the way? Yeah, go ahead. >> Okay, firstly, I just had to get the petty stuff out of the way. She sounds like a Nickelodeon 14-year-old boy in any of those movies where there's something happens to the parents, we can handle this ourselves. Like she just has Nickelodeon 14-year-old boy voice. I also hate that she kind of has my face if I throw a wig on and put on 20 pounds. And it does bother me. It does bother me. And then I mean, before we even get to the substance, the fact that she ends her statement with the, I'm so right. I have a little mean mug at the end. And then of course, her point of, hey, why are we all concerned about Iran? Because that's where all the money's going. And that's the problem in this country. >> Do you know in 2004, everyone in this country got all obsessed with Iraq and Afghanistan. Now everyone's all obsessed with Iraq. Like, yeah, because you launched a war there. Like what? I don't know. And then also like, no, he's the, sorry, people aren't this stupid. He's the one who wants to not send money over there and focus on over here. Not you. You don't get to be like, hey, yes, I support the war, but like, I don't, I don't support you talking about it. I support, I support the war, but I support you never criticizing me for it. I'm just talking about what's going on over here. Also, Rob, I mean, look, she's got nothing. She's got absolutely nothing. She's coming to here with, you have no idea how many Democrats have told me they're happy about this. Well, less than aren't, you ran a primary amongst in a Democratic primary. He beat you. So like, yeah, more people wanted him than wanted you. That's how this works. And so, and then to just sit there and she's just all she says, and then it's true through the whole interview. Two Tapper's credit or excuse me, not Tapper, what's his name? Anderson Cooper. Two is credit. He really grills her about it. She won't answer a single quote. She offers nothing of substance. It's mean. This campaign's been so mean. Can't we just disagree? It doesn't want my endorsement. Okay, fine. It's just like, wait, this, this is what you made you decide to 48 hours before an election break with your party break with the candidate you were supported to dominate to have this like November surprise that's going to be talked about the whole day before election day. And you didn't even think that I got to give a really good reason here. I want my brunch, dammit. I hope that's her next campaign for Congress. Like it really is, Rob, they kind of offered that ad. They didn't even really make it like that ad as the reason because it was put out by a super PAC that's not even him. And then so they just made it more like that just she was either she wasn't invited or was disinvited to an event or something really truly crazy. I got to say, there were, and as I, you know, as we said at the top here, Rob, I think it's quite likely that tomorrow when I'm watching the results on with Piers Morgan and DC there that it'll be out, you know, Elsa, Ed will, will be have one and be on his way to the Senate. I mean, I think that's probably the most likely outcome, although it is, as I said, a close election. But as you said, it is kind of, it's nothing. I'm like celebrating like, oh, I think this is great. And there's lots of reasons for that. I will say this Haley Stevens thing I think has really helped him at the end because also it kind of at least I thought it overshadowed a couple clips that have been really going viral of him that were really kind of, I thought un-unforced blunders or maybe just really terrible views that he has. Did you see this? I mean, he just did 60 minutes. Let's play this. This was his, you don't want to show anymore this lady. Oh, here. Why is there more of this one? I thought we went through it. I think there's meat on the bone when, because I kind of cut it off. Okay, here, here. Let's go back. I thought we had finished that. Here, let's finish Haley Stevens. Oh, absolutely. Yes. Here, let's keep playing. I'm just about our cut. It's about Michigan. As a Democrat, I'm wondering when you heard President Trump praising you today and Speaker Mike Johnson, what do you think? Well, I impeached him twice. Mike Johnson has passed a couple of my bills as the Speaker. He's not been up to all too much. I think the Republicans have kind of shown that they are, you know, really focused on just letting Trump be the dictator and that's not what the Democratic party is. You know, we've got Democrats when they go into the chamber. Sometimes they don't always vote with the party. You know, we've seen, I wasn't for the Biden switch around. You said in a press conference today, we can't stand with hate. Do you believe that Abdul Al-Sayed is hateful or an anti-Semite? I think some of the actions have certainly been anti-Semitic, Anderson, but I'm just sick of who he stands with. He's picking a son, Piker, and the uncle, you know, over a whole heck of a lot of people. There are people who want to vote for him. They wanted to hear from him. They're not trying to beat him up. You know, I wanted to build him up and he just kept coming back. And this is about a U.S. Senate seat. What is she saying? I don't know. What is she saying? How do I get a job in Congress? Can you really be this stupid? How are these people winning elections? Well, she did not win an election and she has really self sabotaged her career here, man. I mean, this is going to really live. There's something very disloyal about this. And also it's just, it calls the bluff on how phony her entire campaign was. And this whole like fascism is coming to America. But I guess we can support it because this guy's mean. This means. So, you know, and he just keeps, I tried to build him up, but he keeps coming back. What? All right, guys, let's take a moment and thank our sponsor for today's show, which is Body Brain Coffee. All right, let's get back into the show. Okay, anyway, here is this was something though on 60 minutes the other day. El Said gets asked about not just about transgenders but I guess the question was something about like children being exposed to transgendarism. Let's see here, I think part of the question is in the clip here. - Happens with transgender kids on sports teams and so on, right? Like these are places where rights are in conflict, right? Do you, what do you think happens there? - I don't know that that's actually true. I think we manufacture these social issues 'cause here's the thing about it. Ross, you have an iPhone in your pocket probably there's an iPhone or a Samsung. You have a phone in your pocket, right? You can get access to everything and anything in the whole world, all the world's information in your pocket. The notion somehow that you are going to prevent your child from being exposed to something that you may find disagreeable and that that is going to be because of school is so profound. - Dude, just pause it for a second. Dude, that is already, this is such a bad shit in saying answer, dude. And the next thing I had to look up, dude, I gotta say this and I rarely get this wrong. I literally went, after you said this, I just went, oh, I bet he doesn't have kids. You know, as soon as there's people who don't have kids talk about having kids and you're just like, I don't know, dude, it's, I don't mean to be a dick. I really don't mean to be like condescending. I know parents can do this to non-parents a lot, like be condescending. I don't mean to be. But there is something like you just don't really understand the experience if you haven't kind of lived it. So, but no, he has two daughters, dude. He is actually sitting here and saying, he was okay, hey, wait, what about this issue with trans kids and sports? You know, like this thing that's been a national issue about like boys and the girls locker rooms while they're changing. And of course, parents objecting to this. And his defense is like, oh, this is a manufactured issue. By the way, Rob, yes, it is quite literally a manufactured issue. No argument from the other side on this one. You quite literally have attempted to manufacture a little girl out of a little boy, putting these poisonous ideas in all these kids' heads. But he goes, whatever, dude, there's hardcore porn on your phone. What, is that, am I wrong, Rob? Is that actually what he's saying here? Well, come on, dude, everything's on the internet. Well, yeah, and we make sure our kids don't see that. That's what all responsible parents do. No responsible parents just go like, dude, you know what's on the internet? There's videos of people murdering kittens and people dying. There's hardcore gang-bang pornography. And so I just let my eight year old see all of that because it's on your phone. What? Yeah, that's why we guard against these things. That's why she doesn't have a phone. Like, what are you talking about? Is this such a bizarre answer? It's also in the public school realm. I think we do somewhat fight publicly over how we want to indoctrinate the kids. And there's a lot, there's a massive difference between a child who decides, maybe I belong to the wrong gender who wants to go on the internet and research that for themselves versus being in the second grade and having a teacher tell you and put the thought in your head of. Oh, you can be what, that is now actually brainwashing and indoctrinating and teaching kids a lifestyle that is not in reality. Dude, it's also, it's so, I'm sorry. I don't mean to cut you off, Rob, I know I do that too much. Sorry, everyone in the chat. It's also so, it's so infuriating when they tell you the problem isn't real when they like, like when they just go, oh, what's your weird obsession of this? Dude, there were, and you remember this Rob all through 2021, 22, 23. There were videos all over the country of furious parents at school boards trying to read the pornographic material that was in the school libraries and the school board would tell them it was inappropriate to read this at a school board meeting. Not exaggerating this, dude. The Biden administration referred to them as terrorists. Parents have been upset all over this country about shit their kids are exposed to in public school. What do you just get to say? We got phones. That's all made up that kids are exposed to things in public school that parents are upset about. No, it's not, dude. There's a clear record of this. You just gaslight people and tell them you're, oh, that's all made up. No, it's fucking not. Sorry, please. And being in school and having the administrators tell you as a girl who's uncomfortable with it, know this boy needs to be on your team, that establishes that the reality of our existence is that people can choose their gender. That is not just each child doing their own research online. It is actually indoctrinating people for a worldview. And the idea that this is just a manufactured issue, I hate when people do this and the left does it a lot. Where they go, why are you guys so concerned about this? It's not a big thing. It goes, you guys made it a big thing. If you want to leave it alone, we'll leave it alone and let's not have it. And are you guys okay with not having it? No. And you guys put an entire network of new laws going all the way back to Obama care when he made it that if you offer hormone therapy, you have to offer it also for sex changes. You can't just run like a testosterone clinic. Like this stuff is in law and it's been forced down our throats and you guys tried to enact policies around it and then you turn around and go, why are you guys upset about this? Why do you care about it so much? I'm happy to leave it alone and not do it. If you guys are okay to drop it, you're not okay to drop it. Yes. And it, come on, man. I mean, anybody paying attention and being honest about this can also recognize that like, you guys trafficked in. Like you trojan horse in a whole bunch of sick stuff under this guise of like, hey, dude, like don't be a dick to the person who's like trapped in the wrong body or something like that. And you're like, dude, what does that have to do with lap dances with eight-year-olds? Huh? What? Like, oh, oh, anyway. So you get a huge reaction about lap dances with eight-year-olds, which again, we always said on this podcast, I was never trying to overplay that. I was never, you know, I always said about the libs of TikTok, Twitter account. You'd be like, hey, look, you don't get a good sense proportion. I don't know how many eight-year-olds are out there in these sexualized things. But I'm telling you, Rob, I've, myself seen dozens and dozens of videos of it. Like it is a phenomenon that's happening and it's outrageous that it's happening at all. All right, anyway, yeah, let's keep, let's keep playing. Because, of course, you have all the information and they have all the information. So here's the thing about it. I think it's really important for us to recognize that the free flow of information is actually a beautiful thing. It's really important. And the most important thing you can do is not try to protect a person from seeing a thing. It's about trying to make sure that as you coach your kid through the world, that you are engaging with them and saying, here's what I believe, here's what you may see in the world. You get to make your choices about who you're going to be in the world. You got to pause again. That's good. Yeah, that's actually insane, dude. The question was whether or not or seemingly whether or not schools should allow for this. That is different than, hey, you might go, you might go into New York City and see a trans person. Here's what I believe on this. This is talking about a school policy, which by the way, there was a death. There was a death in this country in a volleyball game of the male playing female sports. You spiked the ball into a lady's head. And I believe died of a concussion. I got to go fact might check myself on that, but I do remember that story. Yeah, I vaguely remember the story. But there's something here. Like he says, the question again is about children, you know, school aged children. Remember him to sit here and say, like, listen, dude, like, is this your answer to trans shit? You're like, hey, like literally the complaint here, here like. Like Riley gains the famous swimmer who came out and complained about Leah Thompson or the girl. Right, right. So she literally goes, she goes, guys, we like, we change, we get completely naked in the locker room. And he goes, now there's just like a man with male genitalia, like with his dick and balls out in the middle of this thing where she goes, this is incredibly uncomfortable. Like I'm a married woman. I don't want the naked man in front of me. I don't like, it's crazy that anyone wouldn't go, oh, yeah, that absolutely reasonable. Sorry, where the hell are our heads that we think anyway, whatever, just to so the question is over like little kids being exposed to this and his response is like, hey, we live in the information economy, baby, you get, you can't fight it. You got to just explain to kids and no, no, no, no, no, I'm sorry, that is not the answer. In fact, El Sayed, maybe there's a cultural gap here, that would be child abuse, if taken to its logical conclusion. No, I don't, I do not just accept that like my small children are going to see hardcore pornography, but I'll explain where I stand on it to them. No, I don't accept that they're going to see violence and I'll explain where I stand at. I don't. I said, no, in fact, as they are young children, we shelter them from all of those things. No, it is true, there is some value in what he's saying broadly, like ultimately in life. Yes, ultimately in life, you want your kids to be exposed to a lot of things and then to understand where you stand, but that's not the question. It's a total, a really actually disgusting dodge of all of that. And in fact, what he's saying is just stop complaining. Stop complaining about the shit your kids are exposed to when the state has them, you know? They're shit all over the computer too. Guys, I thought this was a terrible, you know, just like on every level, like Marley Horrible and just politically stupid. And I'll tell you, he doesn't want to own his stance, which never looks good with the diversion tactic. If you got a phone on you and pivot, just if you actually believe in this, why not then share your perspective? Why are you hiding your perspective here? Yeah, no, 100%. If you're going to defend this shit, then defend it. Sit here and pretend that we made this issue up. When you guys quite literally made this issue up, I was here before it was an issue. I remember, okay, here, let's, I want to play the other clip of him and this one actually pissed me off more. And I do got to say, dude, you know, I know we have Rob, as the show's grown over the years and, you know, we do have like at least some percentage of our listeners now who are kind of like more left-leaning anti-war people who maybe disagree with us on some of these issues, which I think is very cool, but I just want you guys like, keep in mind, you know, you guys, I've seen some, some people give me shit about some of my, my like takes that involved, like maybe race or something like that. Like when I was talking about like the Indians at the school in Austin, Texas are talking about some things with El Sayed or Mom Donnie about them being these kind of like, I don't know, like Muslim revolutionaries who just got here who now want to lead this big political thing. But like, I would just ask for this, this fairness here. If you're going to sit here and when I say some stuff like that, go, I don't know, David, sounds like you have like some racial animus underneath there or something else. Like, okay, let's keep that same energy. When it comes to this, this was, what's his name, who's the comedian who he sat down with. But did you see this one, Rob, he's, this is Abdul El Sayed says white kids grow up thinking they're special when they really aren't. He was sitting down with that other, it was the Indian comedian who did like the Daily Show show for a while. >> Did he get in trouble for putting out like a special with a bunch of phony stuff in it? He had some long phony stuff. >> Oh, yeah, yeah, we covered it. We did it on the Legion of Skanks, I think we watched it. Yeah, I think it was that guy. >> No, it's not, it's not as he is, no, no, no. He was a political, like a more political comedian. But yeah, he put it at something with like a 9/11 story or something. >> It was totally fake, yeah. >> Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was just not true at all. But, yeah, no, no, Natalie, you're confusing me to with lies about 9/11, okay? It's a classic thing. Everybody does it. Here, let's, but let's play his take here. This is him sitting down and, you know, I've got to say Rob, I just find this to be so, I find all of this to be crazy. And this is him sitting down with a brown comedian. And he starts trying to just go, yeah, it's us a couple of browns, am I right? So here it is. It's not very well received. >> Probably got to start two games, his entire career plan, whatever sport he was, and it made his life. And his parents came and cheered so hard for him. And as a kid, his parents never came, right? And started every game. Part of me is just like, Rob, I feel bad for you. Somebody told you a lot better than you really are. There's something about being a brown kid whose parents like, no matter what you do, you're never enough. >> Sure. >> So what that means is that you never take yourself too seriously. You're like, I'm never going to be enough. >> Right, right, right. >> So you're just like, but for him, the very fact that he made the team, his mom was making cake. She was wearing his jersey. She had a cap made for him. >> Yes. >> You know the type. Some like, bro, you grew up thinking that you were somehow special, but you are not. And you have been living off that fume for the rest of your life. Would you imagine what we would have become if we had supportive parents who just uplifted us? >> All right. >> For beating mediocre. >> Yeah, yeah. >> Can I talk to you about strategy, though, please? And I'll honestly, he probably got to say. >> Wow. >> Dude, what's the word you about this guy as a dad? That's the fucking real issue, I'm having here with this guy. I feel like, so is that how you raise your kids to make them feel like they're never good enough? So as dumb white people, loving our children, showing up to games, even though they're not the star of the team, I just, again, man, I'm sorry, Rob, but there is a weird thing here. And I don't even know, dude, I mean, we identify as white when convenient, but I don't know. I do, I guess it a sense, I've always like, I don't know, we come from a world where being Jewish is kind of considered white, to some people it's not, but whatever. I don't really care with however you consider it, but like, I do just get offended on behalf of white people over shit like this, whether you consider me part of them or not. It's just, I don't know, and I gotta be honest, Rob, the people who come at me say, oh, this is racially insensitive or something like that, dude, if any, if any like, again, try to be fair here. Like conservative rep, you know, like, imagine Thomas Massie, someone we love, right? Like our favorite politician or like a round Paul, or just something we like, like, actually just sat down with some other white guy, I just very casually started going, oh, dude, the fucking, these fucking blacks, they always think they're so fucking, every one of them thinks they're the next hip hop superstar, every one of them thinks they're the next star athlete. Yeah, hey, genius, actually about one out of 20 million people are going to be that. But probably it's not going to be you, oh, but you can't, you know what I'm saying, like, if it was anything like just like, oh, is that the truth? Actually, it's truth, idiot, you know, like, there's a lot of things you could just sit here, make fun of black people for. If anyone ever did that, all of our jaws would be on the floor, as we went, oh my God, this dude just like tanked his, his election, like this is just like so terrible. And yet, I'm sorry, but this is how it is on the left. There is this just insane double standard where we go at the same time, we are going to simultaneously be the most hypersensitive people about race and flip out any time anyone makes a micro aggression, quite literally their term. And at the same time, we have nothing but hostility toward white people and we feel completely free to demonstrate that anytime we want to. That shit is like, dude, it's something that is going to be rejected by more and more people. And it's going to be like, I don't know, don't expect to not have like an intensity to the anger that you get over this shit. People are really sick and tired of being like, I don't know, dude, that this, I'm sorry, this is clear. Like, this is like hostility toward white people because you grew up as a brown kid in a majority white country. I get that there's challenges of growing up as a brown kid in a majority white country. That is not something you can hold against that country. Like it's just, you know, Rob, and culture used to make this point back in the day. It was so politically incorrect, but such a great point. I don't think I exactly agree with her. She was defending some bad policy when she made the point, but she would go, look, man, America has two original sins that we're kind of all aware of. Like we owe a debt to Native Americans and to black people, you know, like Native Americans were here first and we, you know, whether through germs or through murder, we killed the whole bunch of them and took over what used to be theirs. And black people were, you know, everybody else, the Europeans in America came here voluntarily. The black people did not. They were descendants of people who were forced over here and then enslaved for hundreds of years and then kind of like quasi enslaved for another hundred after that. But like everybody else can suck a dare. Like we have a beef. Like we have a, we have an original sin against those people. But like everybody else, like the Muslims here, the Hispanics here, like, oh, I know the left just has this conception where it's like, oh, it's white. people, and then there's people of color, which is everything else, because the white people are bad, and the people of color are good, is essentially the worldview. But we don't actually owe a debt to some kid who just came over here and got to live in the richest, most successful country ever, but was a shade browner than the kids around him and had some cultural differences. And also, I don't know, Rob, I would ask you, like, hey, man, how are you raising your daughters? Are you also making them feel like they're not good enough? Or no, have you completely adopted to our cultural values because they're superior? I ask him that, for real, sit here and tell me that you make your daughters feel like they're not enough. I don't know, dude. It's just like, it's disgusting that they can constantly attack white culture, and then by the way, they also attack the best aspects of it. Like, fucking at least attack the bad aspects of it, if you're going to, like if I'm attacking black culture, and I talk about how like, hey, the rate of, like, fatherhood is remarkably low, like drastically, drastically, drastically lower than the white community, okay? Like, more or less, and this is a little bit, but the statistics back this up, when white guys have kids, they kind of do what I do. They marry the chick, they work hard and spend all their resources on their kid. They give them a better life. And overwhelmingly, what black guys end up doing is being absent. And this creates real problems in the black community. Now, look, dude, that's a harsh criticism. It is accurate. It's backed up by the facts. And you know, I know when I make that criticism, I'll get called racist. They'll be people who are angry at me. But like, hey, if I do that, at least I'm attacking a problem in the community, the fucking attack the black father who's showing up for all the games, even though his kid isn't the star. You ever hear me attacking that guy? We got real problems. All right, guys, let's take a moment and think our sponsor for today's show, which is Goldback. I love this company. California just got its own gold currency. I'm serious about that. Goldback released a brand new California series. And they completely redesigned their original Utah notes as well. And here's why that matters. Everybody knows inflation is real. Just watch my past interview with Jeremy Corden. If you don't, he, of course, is the CEO and founder of Goldback. But you already know inflation is real because you feel it every time you're at the grocery store or pretty much any other store. Now, gold is the obvious answer. But for daily purchases, you're stuck using dollars that keep losing value. Well, goldbacks fix this problem. They're real 24-karat gold that you can spend like cash, no account, no fees, no data tracking, person-to-person transactions, and a currency tide to gold already accepted at thousands of businesses across multiple states. It's one of the most affordable ways to own fractional gold. And it's become the leading non-crypto alternative currency in the country. They are sponsors of the show. And this is an easy one for us because, of course, it's a product we truly believe in that is designed to address an issue that we are very much against and is caused by the government. Go to goldback.com/dave if you want to check out the new California series and the Utah refresh and pre-order yours right now. That's goldback.com/dave. Rob, you make your kids feel insignificant. What do you think? No, I would never. I learned from a young age that a special everybody's special. It was from a philosopher named Barney. If you wanted to update it for 2026, maybe it should be everyone's special needs. But even so, attacking the idea of being kind to your children or invested in what they're doing seems like, well, this coming from the guy who's okay with trans and kids. So what do you expect? I just don't like, I guess there's something about, you know, I remember watching who is there's some Indian actor who had won an Oscar for the movie. It's like Love Sick or something like that was the movie. I never saw the movie, but the movie is about like it's like a love story. The girl gets sick. They won the Oscar for it. And he's giving this speech. And he was like, hey, you know what, man, like I'm an Indian and I, you know, I'm brown and I grew up my whole life in this country watching movies with white people in it. And I love those movies. It didn't matter that they were white and I was brown. And you know, to all you guys, if you guys got a problem with it, well, like you can do the same thing now too. You could like a movie, even though I'm brown, blah, blah, blah. This is like a whole lecture thing. And you're just like, are you aware that you just won the Academy Award? To no one inform you? Yeah, we did that. Yes, that you became a movie star. You're here. In fact, doors were opened up for you because of your race. So why the fuck is your impulse to be lecturing everyone about doing what they've already done? It is so bizarre. It's like, and there really is something that I just find to be so profoundly despicable about this impulse. But like you come to a society and you're able to like rise up through the ranks and have this like amazing life. And you're going to be wildly successful and give your kids a great life and all this stuff. And your takeaway from that is not gratitude to the society. It's not like, wow, what a wonderful success. I mean, look, dude, the obvious conclusion here, Rob, if you go, you're else I did, you could be like, you know, you could be a Muslim, one generation in the country. And you could be on your way to being a US Senator. The takeaway is like, well, this sure shit ain't a racist country at all then. Now is it? Okay, that's the obvious takeaway. Dude, this country is so this is amazing. It's a place where I could come a complete outside or different culture, different skin color, different religion come in and rise up to the top. But no, instead the takeaway is that's how unimpressive all these people are. And I'm so much more impressive than them. It's real, it's real like racialist shit. Sorry. And that's also on top of everything else. That's just like a stupid takeaway, stupid takeaway that because you're successful, that's a comment on how backward the rest of the society is. You actually go to a real backward society. You won't have the opportunity to be successful. Period. Anyway, I don't know any other thoughts on this Rob. I did. Do you think I'm wrong? I found that to be like genuinely, genuinely almost like you can't believe they're comfortable saying it. You think like there's still enough percentage of white voters in this country, but I guess there's enough percentage of people who really like this shit. I agree with you, but I'll let racial insensitivities be more your thing on the show. There you go. I'll hold that down for a while. I don't mind. You know, I don't look dude. It's just like essentially all of wokeism and all of popular leftism for for the last, you know, 15 years was mainly animated by anti white hatred and anti straight anti white anti Christian, you know, hatred. And it's interesting as even a guy like Abdul El Sayed who really does a pretty good job of like presenting like, no, no, no, dude, we're not doing any of that shit. We're just talking about affordability. It's like, okay, but you see it. You see the racial, the racial resentment. I don't know what else to say. All right, dude, there's so we got a lot of different topics that we could do and we can, it's cool. We got a lot of stuff for tomorrow. I do, dude, I just want to talk to you about Norman Finkelstein complaining about the consequences of socialism. I just love it so much. Norman Finkelstein, for anybody who doesn't know, is, well, what is he? He is like, maybe the authority on being a critic of Israel. I mean, the man's written several books. He's got, you know, a lifetime of scholarship on the topic and his, you know, is a child of Holocaust survivors and has spent his entire, you know, professional life opposing the Israeli occupation and genocide and all that stuff. He's also perhaps the most Jewish person who's ever existed. Clearly, you know, the stuff of Adolf Hitler's nightmares. And the, you know, and he's also like a die hard fucking communist and has been like his entire career. I think he still will use the C word, which so few of them actually do. Well, here he's sitting and having a conversation with Richard Wolfe, who's another famous, you know, he does the only Richard Wolfe, of course, does the only real work that socialists do. He's a college professor. So he's on welfare. And then there's some other guy there who I don't know, but they're having a conversation and it is so funny because Finkelstein is such a socialist, but Rob, there is something that we know about being a Jew. You can't, you can't have it surgically removed. The technology simply isn't there. And here it is. His inner cheap skate comes out. Anyway, I actually thought this was, this was great. So here is Northern Finkelstein kind of. It's interesting because you can tell he's, and he's getting trashed by leftists for doing this, but he's almost like, oh, I forgot Cornell West was there too. But he's kind of going like, well, I will admit, this is kind of a problem I have with the welfare socialists stuff. Here's Finkel. Oh, which are legitimate in your view? Oh, no, wasn't it? What is legitimate? I'm talking to a supermarket. Right. And I have to say, it gets a little bit under my skin. I'm the only one paying with money. Everybody's on food stamps. It does get under my skin, because I see them by these bags of salmon, you know, a hundred dollars. Bags of salmon. Fish, the fish. You know, a hundred dollars, and I'm watching every dime, okay, it's part of my background, but I'll walk an extra mile to save ten cents on the chickpeas can. I will admit it. And they're paying everything with food stamps. It gets under my skin. Oh, I see. I know. And they're all very recently here last week, but you know, my best friend is a doctor. And he said in the hospital, it's all people from Central America. And he says if they have a cough, if they have a headache immediately, they go to the hospital because it's all free. It's all free. I see. I know. Is my grievances not, of course, I tried to save myself. Yeah, but all the money has been wasted in the pentagon and why you focus on this, you know, but still it gets under my skin. It's alive and a fever. Are you just loving to your vibe? Oh, you have a right, my brother, you got a right to your mouth. I love Cornell West, dude. I actually do love all this goofy stuff. He does. Like if I ever do have a conversation with him, I don't think we ever have, but I'm going to do all of that right back to him. He always calls everyone like my brother and my son and I'm going to be like my brother, Dr. West. Like I just can't not. But I don't know why, dude, I just fucking love, you could all see why. I just love this moment because it's just him going and you can see the cognitive dissidents like taking over the room like, dude, this is our kryptonite. We don't have an answer for this. The only answer that there is is what Finkelstein just said, right? Which is so funny because it just doesn't work on us, but he goes, well, I mean, yeah, I'm worried about this. But like the pentagon's wasted all this money. It's like, uh-huh. Yeah, it is. We should be against that too. Sorry. Sorry. Back to this. This is what he is brushing up against here, Rob. And let's just be very clear about it. This is a major, major, major flaw in the entire leftist model, the entire fucking model. And he, um, and to, to be clear about this, this is how bad socialism is. It's not even one of the top two. Like the number one flaw in socialism is the price calculation problem. And after that, there's the major incentive problem about really, really hard, grueling work versus really easy, nice work. But this is almost like a third incentive kind of issue. But it happens with all this shit. And Finkelstein is like, look, by the way, I'll also say, I remember this, Rob, from when I lived in, in Brooklyn, and even when I lived in Manhattan too. But when I lived in Brooklyn, it was like, maybe Obama's the end of his first into his second term. And it was like an explosion and how many people were using the like EBT cards. All the sudden you'd go to the grocery store, you go to the corner store, everyone's paying with these fucking welfare cards. And you're like, yeah, what is it? And there is something about it when you feel like such a sucker when you're the only one in there who actually has to pay with money. And yes, to Norman Finkelstein's point, when you're paying with money, you got to be watching the budget. But of course, these people don't. Okay. The point is essentially this, right? And I want you to imagine just for the sake of argument, imagine a grocery store, say, say mom Donnie, but like more of a true socialist version of that, right? A free grocery store. Hey, Rob ain't that nice. I'm better than mom Donnie now, right? I can brag about free groceries, free, you know, I rob it from the taxpayer, but then I call it free. Okay. So free meeting at the point, the taxpayer pays for it, but at the point of going into it, nothing costs anything, right, Rob? You just go in. You live there. We'll work on the logistics later, but you prove you live here. You can come in. Okay. Who is buying hamburgers instead of steaks? Who is buying the generic brand rather than the very expensive one, right? You know, you get my point here. If everything is free, you know what I'm saying? Like now we're not drinking Budweiser, we're drinking champagne because everything's free, right? That's a major fucking problem that you had. It's like so basic, right? Everybody, it's the tragedy of the commons just in a different scenario, right? If you're not familiar with the tragedy of the commons, it's like when somebody owns the property, they'll kind of maintain it. When nobody owns the property, everybody just uses it up until all of the resources are done because nobody's incentivized to maintain the thing because it's not going to be yours if you maintain it. Nobody is, why is it Rob that the, just like the archetype here, the dad, it's not is telling the kid to turn off the light when you leave the room. The dad's paying for it. That's why he's telling them because he's the one who actually has to pay for it. People always take care of their own stuff a little bit better than they take care of stuff that doesn't belong to them, right? This is so basic, it's so common sense. Why would the person who gets it for free care? Yeah, let me get the big salmon and then, and I'm sorry, this is a real, there's a real issue of fairness here and the left has no way of addressing it. Absolutely no way. If you remember, Rob, it's kind of the same exact thing as that one guy who asked Elizabeth Warren that devastating question about a student loan for deafness and he goes, "Dude, I worked over time every day for years and years. I never took a vacation. I scraped and I worked my fingers to the bone so that I could pay off all of my kid's student loan debts." And now you're telling me the person who didn't do that just gets their loan forgiven. Do I get the money back? Oh no. Hey, that sounds really fucking unfair now, doesn't it? In your whole pursuit of fairness. But again, to the left, they just go, "Oh, you're mad at poor people for having salmon." The thing is, right? Not everyone can always have the nicest thing. Nurses are finite and so yes, you have to have some system of determining who gets what. And in fact, it's much more of a fair system to have people kind of get what they earn. I don't know. The person who's saving and the person who's like being responsible ought to be rewarded for that over the person being reckless and you create a major incentive problem for society when you incentivize the letter. My brother, it sounds like you're going off vibes and you got to put those vibes aside because what we got to do, and I think if even Hitler heard Norman Finkelstein and realized the advocacy he would do over fish prices, I think the Germans, they had hyperinflation because they didn't have any Jews around to complain about the prices. That was their problem. >> Do you think that's what didn't bring it down? >> Yeah, it was self-reinforcing. >> The history will show that the hyperinflation preceded the Holocaust Rob. I think your theory might, I mean, I get it. It sounds logical to me that Jews would be there to keep prices down. I mean, I do think there's like, look, I can tell you that you could see it. I know this and I believe Finkelstein still lives in New York City. But you could see it when you would go to like, look dude, it's not as if I saw like, it was like, oh, like a little old lady with like a laundry cart, you know, who was using like an EBT card. These were like fucking able-bodied young people. You know what I mean, and how do you not at some point, if you're sitting there, I really do wonder this, right? You're sitting there and you work and you have to pay for groceries with your money and you have to sit there and live on a budget as like the price of everything gets more and more expensive. And then you see the person who doesn't work, doesn't have to worry about any of these constraints and can just get whatever they want. How does anyone not have a problem with that? And does anyone not think that's intolerable? Like, oh, just basically be unreasonable here. If you want to like put on like your leftist brain. for a little bit, you can get, you can understand them going like, hey, look, dude, just because somebody's like at a work that doesn't mean they should starve, right? Like, we reject stateism for lots of different reasons, but for leaving that aside for the moment, like, you can understand there being like, yeah, dude, like there should be like a seal in that no, or a floor that no one falls beneath kind of deal, right? Like, we don't want people starving. Now me and you probably think like that could be voluntarily arranged, but it's one thing to be like, hey, the guy who's out of work, or even the able-bodied man who's just refusing to work, we're going to make sure he has food, but like, should he be getting a sirloin steak, you know what I mean? While the working man has to have burgers with his family, by the way, nothing, I'm not anti-burger. I didn't mean for it to come off that way, Rob. Me and you get burgers all the time together. But anyway, I do just fine. I just found this fascinating because it is, look, I did that episode. What was it a few weeks ago? I did an episode where a lot of the, I think, more left-leaning listeners of the podcast were upset with me about some of the takes that I had in it. But if you remember, Rob, I mean, I laid down two very direct challenges to any left-winger who's upset with this. It was about, what was it? I think it was about capital allocation, right? Capital investment. Why would anyone invest and defer their, their present consumption if they, if the workers own the company, right? And then I think, what was the, oh, the second one was about like, oh, if big business runs the big government, if big business runs government, why do we have such a big giant government? If big business loves small government, seems to me, the evidence overwhelming that big business loves big government. Nobody took me up on any of those. I looked through the comments that people were upset. Nobody had a response to either of those. And how about this one here is a third? Like, you literally see where there's a room full of leftists. Who has an actual answer to this, though? Because it seems like, I don't know, like a glaring hole in your whole worldview. It's like a casino, but like, there's a backdoor entrance to the vault, and people can just take money out. You're like, oh, that's a problem. That's a flaw in your whole model there. Thing doesn't work with that. How does it work? Why, if you go into that supermarket, everything's free in the supermarket. Why am I, who is having, you know, whatever it is, right? Like, Rob, you remember me and you were broke as shit when me and you first met each other. I'd always be like, I'd always be getting like the cheap option at a supermarket, the cheap option at a store. You know, you buy one of those like pre-cooked rotisserie chickens and it's like eight bucks, but it'll be like two or three meals or something like that, you know, like whatever. Who's ever choosing that if everything's free? Why would you? Why would you choose the low-end thing? Why would anybody like be frugal if you don't have to? Okay. I mean, in the same sense of like, okay, somebody, like, this is true in total communism, right? The major incentive problem. Somebody's going to be a garbage man. Someone has to, right? We need that in society. Someone's got to do that job. Well, if it's all to each according to their ability, to each according to their need, like if the way we deal with that right now is we pay more for that job, pay more, give better benefits because men will do that to give their family a better life. That's what men will do. Men will literally deal with garbage all day. And I'll be like, I'll do that. I'll fucking lug garbage around all day if you give me 98K instead of 81. You know, men will do that. Who's going to do that when it pays the same as being a poet? Who's going to make the choice to go do this grueling job? Like the leftists are they're just so removed from how many grueling jobs there are that we still all rely on. Who's choosing to do the grueling jobs if we're all getting paid the same? You have major problems when you try to force equality, this egalitarian, like, delusion that is, that is, as the great Murray Rothbard said, a revolt against nature, antithetical to the way things work. Things are unequal. And when you try to equalize them, you're going to end up with a lot of problems. And this is one of the major ones. Anyway, I saw, of course, Rob, a bunch of leftists flipping out on Finkelstein, not a single one of them taken on the obvious issue that he's raising. Final thought to you. Now you closed out on Rothbard. How, what am I going to say that's better than that? You got to just plug your dates after that, bro. You got to just, yeah, if you push that or not come in the Run Your Mouth podcast and see you guys in San Diego and Skinkfest after that. Yeah, I forgot about the festival, dude, really looking forward to that one too. My return, glorious return to Legion of Skanks. Looking forward to it. All right, guys, catch you tomorrow, later show, 3 p.m. I'll be in my hotel by then. All right, peace. [BLANK_AUDIO]

Summary:

FAQs

Haley Stevens, a Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate, endorsed Mike Rogers two days before the election after he disinvited her from an event. This move was seen as a major political betrayal, especially since she had previously been a strong pro-Israel progressive and had criticized Rogers' foreign policy stances. The endorsement sparked widespread backlash and raised concerns about internal Democratic Party divisions and loyalty.

It is controversial because Stevens, a progressive Democrat and former opponent in the primary, suddenly endorsed a Republican candidate on the eve of a closely contested election. This move was perceived as politically reckless and a betrayal of party unity, especially given that Stevens had previously supported progressive policies and was seen as a strong voice for Israel, a key issue for many Democrats.

El Sayed dismissed concerns about trans youth in sports by claiming the issue is 'manufactured,' comparing it to the presence of pornography on phones. Critics argue this response is dismissive and lacks empathy, as it downplays real parental concerns about safety and exposure in school environments, and fails to acknowledge the real experiences of students and families.

Critics argue that El Sayed's statement that white children grow up thinking they're special is offensive and racially insensitive. It is seen as a harmful generalization that devalues the experiences of marginalized communities and contradicts the values of inclusion and equity, especially when made by someone who is supposed to advocate for progressive social change.

The Senate race is viewed as a pivotal moment, with the outcome potentially determining party control. The show highlights that the race is highly competitive and that Stevens' endorsement of Rogers could have significantly influenced the balance of power, especially given the close projections and the high stakes of the election.

The show argues that El Sayed's comments are seen as a political dodge that avoids addressing real concerns about children's safety and education. The criticism emphasizes that such responses trivialize valid parental anxieties and fail to engage constructively with complex social issues, undermining their credibility as a progressive leader.
