Green Refinancing: What Are We Actually Financing?

The holiday season is celebrated with Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW) offering stylish, comfortable footwear as gifts and self-gifting options. Meanwhile, a segment on The Moth Podcast highlights real, emotionally engaging stories from everyday people. In the world of football, the Baltimore Ravens are in a state of crisis due to quarterback injuries and instability—Lamar Jackson, the team’s star, is injured and out, with no clear backup, and the team lacks a functional offensive line. Without a reliable starting quarterback, the Ravens face a bleak outlook for the season, with no realistic path to playoff contention. Lamar Jackson holds full contract control and a no-trade clause, making any trade highly improbable and his future with the team uncertain. Discussions around potential trades for players like Derek Henry or Mark Andrews reveal little value due to poor performance and roster struggles. Offensive coordinator Declan Doyle’s effectiveness is questioned, especially as the team fails to score without Lamar. The absence of a quarterback and the lack of strategy in the backup plan suggest a season of decline. Despite some speculation about trades with other teams, no viable options exist, and the team appears to be in a prolonged downturn. Fans remain uncertain about the future, with many believing the team has lost momentum and is no longer competitive. The segment ends with a nod to other football podcasts offering more accessible, fan-friendly content.

Our football coverage on the fan brought to you by Exfinity, introducing Exfinity's shield of force field for your home team in the text line brought to you by Edgar Snyder and Associates, personal injury law firm, they always say there's never a fee unless we get money for you. It's time to talk to Rob Long from the fan in Baltimore. Please tell me you're headed out for a nice tea time today, Rob. Absolutely, yeah, I need it as in this weekend. It is time for a lot of break it, I feel like golf is healthier. It might be time for the Ravens to fire up the golf carts here. What's the status of Lamar? He's going to have surgery, I think we've had surgery already on his hand and he's going to be out. We were told by Jesse Mitter, possibly for the rest of the year, I think if this thing goes sideways, there's no need to bring him back later on in the year to be honest with you. Not a lot of good quarterback options, Tyler Huntly also went down in that same game against Buffalo. So Fernando, undrafted rookie free agent out of Yukon ended up finishing up the game and you saw at one point, he was on the sideline, even his ankle wrapped. So not a good day for Baltimore Ravens quarterbacks on Sunday. Honestly, Rob, the thought that came to me the other day and I'm sure to a lot of people is that the Ravens are just done. Is that your thought? Yeah, that's my thought. They are Lamar Jackson's team, let's be honest with you, he's just out three weeks, you got a chance, especially when he comes back and you're four and three, you got a chance to get Buffalo on other teams. But if he's done their job, this is not, you know, they're 33 teams in an national football league. They are 32 good starting quarterbacks. So now when you start talking about your backup quarterback, you're not designed to win with your backup quarterback. And now you're not, definitely not designed to win with your backups back up. So to me, this season is a wash is done right now, it's a shame because there's some talent on the team, but we both know it's, the talent is great, but it's a quarterback driven league and right now the Ravens don't have one. Will they try to get one? Cool. I want to ask you a question with a question, but who, who's out there, who's in there? See, for me, I've heard some names, so a trade for Kirk cousins, maybe talk to, I don't know why Cincinnati would give you Joe Flackle, even I don't know what Joe Flackle's going to do for you. But why would they do that when they can see you burn and basically put you out of contention for the visual? Why would they help you? There's no one out there. My opinion is going to help you win. So you need offensive lineman, best case scenario, you get a decent draft pick and with so many teams wanting quarterbacks and receivers, go with some offensive lineman, even maybe position yourself to move back because you know some offensive lineman going to be there, get some draft picks back, but I don't see, to me, give it a draft capital for possibility to do what? Go nine and eight, maybe ten and seven, but you have no chance in whatsoever. Get into the playoffs, no longer the goal for this football team. So if you don't have a quarterback out there, you think it's going to be a championship contender, then why go get that guy? Why give up anything for that guy? Well let me give you some names, you mentioned one, Kirk Cousins, Jacobi Brissett, who just got demoted in Arizona. Those are really the two, I'm looking at a list right now that jump out to me, do you forget about what we think? Do you think the Ravens would have interest in either one of those guys? My thought, if either one of those guys, they would be interested in my thought, no inside of the nation, would be more Kirk Cousins, just because he's a guy that you know can get the ball out to the receivers. However, with this offensive line, this is horrible. I wish Kirk Cousins behind that offensive line, not very good. Good point. Okay. The opposite line, the opposite line is horrible. The opposite line is the worst unit on this football team, by far. What is Lamar's future in Baltimore? Well, he's has a big cap hit of over $80 million for 2027. He holds all the cards, and I think we all know right now that there's no secret Lamar Jackson's future has always been a mystery since he's been here in Baltimore always. He holds all the cards now, he can't trade them unless he approves it. Even have this contract, you can't franchise him. Lamar is either going to take that $80 plus million hit next year, which would be ridiculous, or he's going to extend. I think a lot of the, maybe Lamar has played his last nap with the Baltimore Raven. I think sometimes that's us trying to make a soap opera out of sports, because that doesn't make sense. Lamar Jackson owns everything. He holds the cards. So who says the only way that says last nap is if he says it's his last nap. And he's going to have to do something contractually to even be able to work out a trade. So when you have, your cap hit is over $80 million, who are you trading with? Who's your partner? Again, he's got to improve that, because he has a no trade clause. So I think Lamar's future with the Baltimore Ravens past next year, that's up in the air. But I don't see him not playing for this team next year. Does he want to be there? I would think so. It's not here, where? I mean, who's the next thing, do you want to go to Minnesota, where they may be a quarter back away? I mean, you have very few teams that are quarter back away. You don't leave at the age of 30 to rebuild with someone. You leave at the age of 30, because there's a team that's one quarter back away. Well, the team you're leaving is the one quarter back away. That quarterback is you. The problem is you missed a ton of games the last few years. Does he go someplace else in your guarantee that he stays healthy? Is that it? I don't think so. I mean, there's no better situation he has than right here in Baltimore. So for him, the one to leave has to be something bigger than we know, has to be something in the front office, which I can't see, because he and Eric, because it seems to be cool. I can't foresee any reason the March Jackson will want to leave home. Limits. I know of a team who could use a quarterback next season right there in the AFC North. That AFC. Cleveland Browns? Cleveland Browns, Rob? That AFC North. There's another one that might depend on Drew Allen. There's two teams next year in the AFC North that will need quarterbacks. I'm under Browns, but the Pittsburgh Steelers isn't one as well. And he won't do that. I know where he lives. What about Miami? Do you-- who wants to go to Miami? It's a whole-- 30-year-old quarterback going to Miami for, what, the rebuild, the start over? That doesn't make sense. And everybody keeps saying it because that's his home. That's his home. How much time does he spend down there in the AFCs? I just-- again, I just think we just had this desire to make this thing a blind driven. It makes no sense to go to-- I mean, what's in my head? We're losing Rob a little bit. Rob has froze on a very hot day. He's frozen. Maybe his phone's overheating like yours, Joe. It could be, yeah. Actually, yes. I mean, that's possible. Let's see if we can get him back because I have a couple more key questions for him, limits. Can you imagine if Lamar arranged a trade to the Steelers if he's in complete control? Obviously, that's never going to happen, but-- man, that would be interesting, wouldn't it? If I'm the Steelers, now forget it. Let's not talk about next year's quarterback for the Steelers. We're going to have months and months and months to do that. It's probably going to be Drew Aller anyway. I'd rather talk about the trade deadline. I want to ask Rob when he comes back. Rob you there? Exactly. I'm here. Okay. Point well taken on Lamar. Let me ask you this, Rob Long from the fan in Baltimore joining us on our tour around the AFC North. Fan hotline presented by Sullivan Super Service. Pittsburgh's trusted plumbing and HVAC provider for over 50 years. If the Ravens themselves deem this season a lost cause will Derek Henry be on the market. That's the big question. Rumors are that the Giants could be a team of destiny, you know, and John Hobbott knows these guys in the building as well as some other teams. That's one of the things to me that would be very interesting. Derek Henry. What would you get for Derek Henry? A fourth maybe fifth round draft pick. Is it worth it? Let all depends on what Derek Henry wants. Maybe he wants out what a chance to win it because he's what 32 years old. So that would be, that to me would be the most interesting one of the more interesting things along with maybe Rokwan Smith. Those two names are two very interesting names to me. All right. So, man, when I think of the future of the Ravens, this is sort of stunning, isn't it? I mean, three weeks ago, I think you and I both had them winning the division maybe a month ago, and that's how fast things change and the not-for-long league, right? That's why you love the NFL. You don't love it when it's your team, but you do realize that sometimes that philosophy of the NFL is going to come back around to your team, and right now this year, it's the Baltimore Ravens. I don't know, you know, I look at guys and I ask, who's going to be here next year? If you don't think you're going to do anything this year, and you can get some draft capital for some of these guys that you don't think you have next year, then why not? I don't see anybody wanting more than Humphrey, because the guy that don't think it's going to be here next year, but I think some of the guys that you could probably get something for would be a darek himry, and maybe do a lesser extent, wrote one. Did they consider trading, Mark Andrews? I'm sure they would, but what are you getting for Mark Andrews right now? He's had a horrible season. Limits, why do you lose? I don't know what you get for. I'm just curious. He's a long-term Raven that has also had a controversy around Mark Andrews before, too, with the drop pass in the playoff game, and what was the point? Well, not just that. He's dropped some this year as well. He's had a horrible year. He had the fumble in Atlanta that really didn't come back to bite him because the Ravens came back and won that game. Mark Andrews is not want to borrow more Ravens' favorite sons right now, so as I don't know what you really would get, I think you would definitely get more for Henry. You probably right now would get more for Rokwan and Andrews. I'm not saying it wouldn't trade them. I just don't know what you would get in return. I'm surprised that you only think Derek Henry might be worth a fourth or a fifth man if I thought I was a player away from a Super Bowl run. I'd be all over him, is he every bit as good as he's been in the past few years and his whole career really? He is with a good office line, but you got to keep in mind, you know, I'd go back to some of the better office players in the league, man, when they get north of 30, I remember Randy Moss went for a fourth-round draft, picked in a new England Patriots, and all of you do is sudden, receiving records after that, I mean, what would you give for 32-year-old running back? Man, if I thought he was the guy, and he is that guy, by the way, Derek Henry, I still think, although I haven't seen him every game with a good offensive line, he's got eight touchdowns. Is he still busting long runs? I don't even know. I guess this long's only 32 this year, but that might be the line. I'd give up a second round pick if I was a team where I thought that he was my guy to get me to the Super Bowl. What about the Bengals? What about the Bengals give up for him? I know the Ravens would love to run, you know, with a mask going from the bank with a second round draft pick for Derek Henry. I think he's just, you've got to look at what some of these guys go for now, and I just, I'm not saying he couldn't go for a second, I'm just telling you, I'm a GM, I'm not giving you a second for him. What do you think about Declan Doyle, this offensive coordinator? Do you see a little bit too over his skis this year calling plays? What are you going to do with Tyler Huntley? Well, I'm not denying any of that, Rob. I just wonder like as a young, really young coach, like how he's adapted to being a full-time player. They score a lot with Lamar Jackson plays, they can't score with Tyler Huntley. That's, that's simple. I mean, I'm not judging Declan Doyle on this year because, you know, the phrase next man up in the NFL is the most over-saturated, most, it makes no sense because if it's that easy, the next man up and these guys will be somewhere else starting. The gap between those two quarterbacks is huge. Declan Doyle, what is Declan Doyle going to do when Tyler Huntley can't make long throws? So that means a third of my playbook is cut off, a third of it. I can only use a third of my playbook, two thirds of it was really cut off. So I'm not calling my plays, I'm calling Tyler Huntley's plays. You know, when Lamar Jackson's in the game, I don't call anything, I don't set anything up. We just set up a deep pass. Well, we may have set up a deep pass with Huntley, but you can't call it. I just, I, I, I, I, it's two seasons when he was Lamar, which was pretty freaking good, and when he is with Huntley, which can't score the second half. That's not an offensive coordinator. You know, another phrase that I, I, I hate it, dial it up, dial it up for who? If the guy can't make the throw, what am I dialing up? I just think, you know, I think coaches are as limited as the talent on the field, and you have a very limited offensive coordinator right now because he's playing with a very limited quarterback. And now he's replay with a rookie free agent. What is Devlin Doyle to do? Let me ask you this to finish up here, Rob. Back to Lamar. Once I look at, uh, spot rack dot com here, it says on his contract, potential out 2027. So the unsolved mysteries podcast is back. I'm Jordan Murphy. And each week, I'll take you inside a new investigation. It could be an unsolved murder and unexplained disappearance, the search for a wanted fugitive. Any mystery that still needs answers will follow every new lead, every break in the case, and the moments when a mystery is finally solved. Because after all these years, one thing hasn't changed. Someone somewhere knows the truth. Listen to and follow unsolved mysteries available now wherever you get your podcasts. If the Ravens approached Lamar and said Lamar, we want to move on here. We're taking a couple steps back or we just, we want to move on. Can we arrange a trade with you? What would he say? Um, Lamar Jackson has been in Baltimore for almost a decade as close as I am and following the Baltimore Ravens. I think their guys are closer to me who will tell you they can't answer for Lamar. Lamar is a great mystery. I have no, I would think Lamar would say, no, you to pay me if we can't work out a deal. Just based on who he's been and what he has done. I think that's more of Lamar than Lamar saying, okay, let's work out a trade. Furthermore, they still would have to work out something because who's taking an 80 plus million dollar hit all over the tree? Can't that be, can't that be parsed out over a new deal though? That's what I mean. So he's still, you're still going to have to have the March Act have been willing to do a new deal. There's nothing Lamar Jackson's past that says that he's willing to do that. There's nothing. I mean, I would have to, I mean, that would be, that would mean the ultimate speculation to say Lamar Jackson, well, he's never done it. He's never where he didn't do it as rookie on this rookie deal. And he had a chance to do it. There's all season he hasn't done it. So, I mean, that's high speculation to say on any circumstances that Lamar Jackson is going to work out a new deal because he's never done it. To me, it makes sense for him to do it. But I thought it made sense on the first deal and he ended up getting to kill a deal by not doing it. But Lamar Jackson to me, I love him, but he's very, very hard to read. And I really, as much as I would love to get you an answer on that, I have no clue what Lamar Jackson's going to do. And I don't think anybody else does either. All right, Rob. This was good. This is interesting. Maybe New England would be a team that would want Derek Henry and be willing to keep him. Imagine. Oh my God. That would be huge. That would be huge. I mean, it's been a great, it's been a great trade, if the Chicago Bears just make themselves as famous as ever. What? Man, they sure did. My, that defense look just, I mean, awesome last night just with one player. Who is your preseason Super Bowl pick and who's your pick right now? All right. All right. Well, there's two answers to that. I did do a futures bet on drag kings and you know, I have one of the NFC on my futures. Oh. The Bears. Nice. Nice call. The Bears. But on air, my, my, my Super Bowl champion is this team that might not make the playoffs right now. That's the Rams. Hmm. I think, I think. Yeah. The Rams are the Ravens of Super Bowl. I had the bills and the Rams in the Super Bowl. Right now, right now, I think I'd go bills, bears in the Super Bowl. Yeah. If I could change that. My futures bet was the Bears because the Bears were great or odd. I like to, I like to spend a little bit of money with a big chance of winning. I hear that. And I hear, I also hear, I also hear the Rams have a pretty good defensive player who's going to start practicing this week named Miles Garrett. Let's hope they turn it around, man, only because they're fun to watch. Rob, we appreciate it. It'll be interesting following the Ravens. Thank you, sir. Nice, Rob. Thank you. That was incrinculent. Limits from the top rope with questions about Mark Andrews. Oh, yeah, you know it. Asking the hardheading factual questions you need on Declan Doyle and Mark Andrews, who's been a lightning rod. Did I catch you in the middle of like putting together a video back there or something and then I can tell you were scrambling and you went full Declan Doyle in the middle of this thing. That was a very fair question, people that what about the Mark Andrews question, open minded to the offensive coordinator being called out. You might as well have asked them about former Pitt women's basketball coach Agnes Barronato limits. I mean, where are these questions coming from? I'm thinking a little bit outside the box. I'm not trying to ask the obvious questions here. I thought that was a very fair question, and it is insulting to think otherwise. - What about the Mark Andrews question? Where did that come from? - I mean, people have been-- - He's 40 years old and he's for a long time. Like, wouldn't they want to get rid of his ass? Like, don't you think? - Oh, I've been there. I've been there when something's happening and I'm distracted and I have to fight for-- - I'm doing like 10 different things back here. The question's done and you're just looking at me, and I know. - I know. - Well, thanks for the heads up. It's actually, let me, let me cop to that. That was actually my fault. I panicked because I didn't know if we were done. I didn't know if you were wanting another question. There was a moment of silence and then you piped up with a Declan Doyle inquiry. - I was curious about the Declan but I wasn't thinking of it. - I was. - The dude's a 29 year old offensive coordinator. That's an interesting thing to-- - We're going to double down on this thing. - Hell yeah, I'm going to double down. - You're not going to let your thoughts on this matter cloud my question judgment. No, I thought it was a very fair question and I would ask it again if Rob came back on. - Oh my God, I can't get over that one. Okay, where are we, Limit? Sue's next, Moegger. - Moegger's coming up. - I'm really curious about the Bengals travel plan for Spain and a lot of Bengals things as these Steelers and Bengals are headed for a mighty clash in a couple weeks. Are they not? - Yes. - And I think you should ask Moegger a Declan Doyle question as well. - I'm actually going to ask him about the defensive coordinator scheme if you would so indulge. - What you should do is you should ask him if the Bengals might be interested in Mark Andrews. - I think you should ask if they're going to acquire Derecanry or any other middling type of running back. - Middling, if the Bengals could get Derecanry, that would be a season change. - Oh, I know that, but the middling question would be, I don't know, think of a random running back, like Tony Pollard, they could bring in. Tony Pollard, who actually ran all over the Bengals defense. - Oh my goodness. - I blame you. - I know, it was just to tell everybody out there. I put, I put, I put, - One sector says two legitimate questions. - One question, one sector says, man, this guy hates every question, let me ask. (laughing) - We're in the middle of these high, like, Faluton, Lamar, Jackson, Futures questions and Derecanry get treated. - Yeah, we touched on everything we need to talk about with Lamar. - Then you came in like, Benzie at the top rope at a Tom La news conference with a Declan Doyle question. - And you love the Benzie question, so you shouldn't be coming out at me through regarding those questions. You love when Benzie does that, so how dare you be a hypocrite in that regard towards me? - All right, Mo Agar next with the Bengals, and like I said, and like we all know, there's a pretty big football game a week from Sunday, and the Bengals are gonna be coming back from Spain for God's sakes. I wonder what their travel plan is. That's the first question that comes to mind. Trade deadline talk on the fan. - Maybe we can ask him about Michael Jordan versus Gary Payton, one texture says. (laughing) - Trade deadline talk on the fan is brought to you by hands-free sketcher Slippins. Just step in and go. Fan trading cards brought to you by the baseball card. (laughing) - Gary Payton. - I hit you 10 seconds later. - That was one of the greatest things ever. And I also thought I put you in a bad position that day, where we're talking about the greatest individual rivalries in the history of pro sports, like Russell Chamberlain. - Yeah, you're setting me up to get dunk dunk. - Manning Brady. - And you said Gary Payton. - That's like telling Mugsy Boats to go stand in the paint when Walt Chamberlain's coming in to drive to the hoop. - Oh my God, that was a great moment in fan history. The fan trading cards brought to you by the baseball card castle. Your go-to destination for sports cards, collectibles and memorabilia. These cards have picks and stats of the fan hosts. And you can pick them up at the baseball card castle and cranberry anytime we're out in the community. Can we replay some time later in the show? What was worse, like as far as the reaction went, the Mark Andrews of the Tekken Toyle question was way worse. He was immediately like, why are you blaming Tekken Doyle for this? I'm like, no, like when Walmart was playing, did Tekken Doyle do a good job? It's not, it's a fair question. - Are you legitimately curious about Tekken Doyle? Or did you just panic? - No, I'm legitimately curious about Tekken Doyle. - Like you spend time at home thinking about Tekken. - How great of an offense is he calling here? - Not very because he has a kid named, what's the kid's name? Fagnano, I don't even know who he is. I've never heard of him. I mean, what's Tekken Doyle supposed to do? - Well, he can't do anything now. - No, he can't. - He can't. - Because he's a person else, socks. - All right. All right, let's go to Sinsi, coming up next. - Are you looking for a football podcast that doesn't put you to sleep with a fog of analytics or insult your fandom with phony hot takes? I'm Dan Hanses. - And I'm Mark Sessler. - And we're the host of He the Call, the NFL podcast you've been waiting for. - He the call covers the entire NFL, not just the same five or six teams you're sick of, delivering news, weekly power rankings, plus previews and recaps of every matchup. - Yes, we cover your team, and we do it with a touch of mirth, because football is fun.
