Less than 70 days out from midterm elections, and the White House and Republicans have begun to reveal more details about their final push campaign strategy. Joining us now with some exclusives is our White House correspondent, Mary Margaret Olihan. Great to have you on. Great to be here. So first, you have a new scoop on the Republican National Convention, which the Daily Wire is going to be at, by the way. What have we learned now is going to go down there? So yesterday we broke the news that President Donald Trump will appear on both night one and night two of the Republican National Convention, which is going to take place in Dallas on September 9th and 10th. Now, he will speak on night two. He'll deliver the keynote address. And then Vice President J.D. Vance, he's going to speak on night one of the RNC Convention. And then what we really learned from our exclusive from the RNC, all these officials we talked to yesterday, is that this is going to be. This is going to be a primetime showcase of President Donald Trump's first administration and his second administration's wins. And it's going to urge Americans to kind of reflect on, look how good you have it. We are making progress. Do you want this to continue to go this way or do you want obstruction from Democrats? They're going to portray Democrats as extreme and radical. And they're going to contrast those extreme radical positions with Republicans' mainstream views on a lot of issues. Now, that includes transgenderism. It includes the border. It includes a lot of the different tax cuts the Trump administration has got for the American people and so much more. So there's going to be a lot of emphasis on everyday working Americans. They're going to bring in people who support the president. But they're also going to bring in a lot of these Republican candidates who are running in key races all over the country who are going to need support financially and also just support across the board from Americans. They need their vote and they need word of mouth to just get out their cause. And the RNC is a great. They're a great way to do this. And the president and the vice president intend to do just that. Does it seem like affordability is a theme that's going to come up? Absolutely. That's going to be a major part of, I believe, day one. A lot of these themes are going to come up. Affordability, health care, the border, culture war issues. The one big beautiful bill, the Save America Act, is going to make a major appearance. They're also going to be talking about and contrasting Democrats who are part of the DSA, for example. Contrasting these Democrats. Democrats who are embracing socialism with Republicans who just really are maintaining what they're considered mainstream policies. So, you know, keeping gender ideology, critical race theory and DEI out of schools, keeping the border closed, making our cities clean and safe again. All of these things, again, that, you know, we might be used to hearing. But from a Republican messaging standpoint, people need to remember that these things could disappear or dissipate if President Donald Trump and Republicans are no longer in charge. Now, one issue that Republicans have. Have struggled with historically has been abortion. You reported exclusively on some messaging memos to Republicans on that topic. What did you learn? Yeah, this was really interesting. So we broke the news that the SBA Pro-Life America, one of the top pro-life groups in the country, they sent a memo to Republican candidates this week. And they were trying to tackle this problem because in the past, Republicans have done what SBA calls the ostrich, where when abortion comes up, they kind of stick their head in the sand and hope that it will go away. So now SBA did a bunch of messaging testing and poll testing, and they found that for candidates who messaged on late-term abortion and pointed out that their opponent supported late-term abortion or had voted for late-term abortion, those candidates actually shifted in the polls up four points. And that's not a small difference. SBA is pointing out this could make a very big difference for a lot of candidates. So they're saying, stand strong. Most Americans do not support late-term abortion. Now, on the flip side. You have pro-abortion groups, EMILY's List, NARAL, Planned Parenthood, who are all urging Democrats to try and make abortion about something else. So they'll say, don't say abortion, say reproductive health care. Don't even talk about that. Frame it as a woman's decision. Tie it to affordability and financial decisions. They're getting very manipulative with their language. So I think it shows you even more than ever that Republicans absolutely need to be prepared to talk about abortion. Even if it's not a major part. Even if it's not a major part of their campaign platform, it will kill them at the polls if they're not ready to talk about it. So really urging boldness rather than shying away from that topic. We also have some news on the Supreme Court front this week. The court just allowed the Trump administration to enforce its election integrity executive order. What does this mean for the midterms? Is it as big a deal as some have made it out to be? Yeah, I think it is a big deal. I think it's possible that some of these legacy outlets are downplaying the magnitude of this ruling in order to suggest that it's not a big deal. I think it's possible that some of these legacy outlets are downplaying the magnitude of this ruling in order to suggest that the president hasn't had a big win here. This was the Supreme Court lifting an injunction that had blocked the order in 23 states who had challenged it after the administration appealed in July. So essentially it's clearing the United States Postal Service to check its distribution of mail-in ballots against a list of citizens that are maintained by the Department of Homeland Security. So this is a significant political victory for Trump and his administration because they've been advocating against the widespread use of mail-in voting. And they say, There's heightened vulnerability to tampering and fraud, which I think many of us, and especially here at The Daily Wire, know to be true based on the reporting that we've done on the fraud that we've seen in mail-in voting in the past. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro is pushing to radically rewrite his state's health code. Shapiro's revisions would give his administration authoritarian police powers as he seeks re-election on the Democratic ticket. Joining us now to break the story is Daily Wire investigative reporter Meg Brock. Meg, thanks for coming on. Yeah, thanks so much for having me. So can you first describe these regulatory changes that are proposed by the Shapiro administration and just how they would change things in Pennsylvania? Yeah, Governor. Governor Shapiro is looking to drastically expand his authoritarian police powers through these kind of covert, quiet regulations that are happening at the Pennsylvania Department of Health. There are over 500 pages of proposed regulatory changes that will allow the Department of Health to implement disease control measures really unilaterally, whether they're seeking to do disease surveillance or even for disease prevention, mitigation or any containment measures. So what this means is that the Department of Health can implement things like statewide mask mandates, coerced vaccinations, vaccination without any approval by the state legislature. As you detail in your report, there's a lot of specific powers granted to the administration through this revision of policy. Can you unpack some of that for us? Yeah, so the proposed regulations will give the Department of Health, for example, the ability to access confidential medical records of citizens. It also gives the Department of Health the ability to enter apartments, school buildings without a warrant to conduct a disease investigation. And it even specifies. And it even specifies in the proposal that the Department of Health and health bureaucrats can enter a school and start asking a child or a student about very specific disease information. And that a school official or anyone else are not allowed to interfere with this investigation. I spoke with legal experts in Pennsylvania who said this really is a real concern about how it might impact parental rights. One legal expert I spoke with said they would not want the Department of Health coming in and speaking with their child about something. That's very sensitive, like a sexually transmitted disease. And really, with these regulations, there will be no authority to stop them. Now, Pennsylvania does have some limits put on its governor's powers relating to a 2021 amendment. Can you explain what that amendment was and what these new laws would do to it? So during the COVID era, Pennsylvania had some of the harshest and longest COVID restrictions in the nation. And Pennsylvania's really had enough of that. So they actually went and changed their constitution to make sure the governor only had. unilateral emergency powers for three weeks before needing approval from the state legislature. And so the Department of Health reports to the governor. So really what this is doing is it's a backhanded way of undoing that restriction and that accountability. And again, giving the governor through the Department of Health the unilateral power to implement whatever disease control measures he see fits without any checks and balances. And you personally lived through that era, correct? Yes, I was living in Pennsylvania during the COVID era and remember all of this very clearly. So this regulation actually brings up a lawsuit where Pennsylvania parents challenged a mask mandate that was created by the governor after his powers were eliminated through the Department of Health. Now, Josh Shapiro was the attorney general of Pennsylvania during this era. He actually went face to face with this group of parents all the way to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, who ruled the Department of Health did not have the regulatory authority to implement a statewide school mask mandate. However, in their ruling, the PA Supreme Court said. There was nothing stopping the Department of Health from changing the regulation to give them that power. So here we are five years later. Now, Josh Shapiro is the governor of Pennsylvania, and he's really tying up those loose ends as he seeks reelection to make sure he'll have that authoritarian power if he needs it in the future. Now, one of the proposed changes is creating a mandatory statewide vaccine database. What would that entail? Yeah, so that's going to mandate every health care practitioner in Pennsylvania to input in a statewide database when they give a vaccination to a patient. Unless the patient specifically asks to opt out in writing. And so this is really ultimately going to create, by default, a record of every single person's vaccinations in the state. In August, the Department of Health actually came out with a vaccine database of schools that really provides granular data on what the medical, philosophical, and religious exemptions for student vaccinations are. State by state, county by county, school by school. And I talked to experts. I talked to experts in Pennsylvania who are concerned about the religious implications this has. Pennsylvania has a pretty strong religious vaccine exemption, and that's something that is a part of the Constitution. It's a constitutional right, and there are concerns for how this new database could impact that. Well, very chilling development. Meg, thanks for reporting. Yeah, thank you for having me. Fairfax County, Virginia, is supposed to be one of the safest places on the planet. But the community there was recently shaken after the body of a 42-year-old woman was found stabbed to death in the woods. The suspect, who appears to have tried to set the body on fire, has since been identified as a 19-year-old illegal immigrant. Daily Wire investigative reporter Luke Rosiak lives in Fairfax and says that when he informed his community on the platform next door that the suspect is an illegal immigrant, he was actually booted off the platform. Luke joins us now with the latest. Thanks for coming on. So we've been working to get you on to talk about what went down over the last few days since the suspect was identified. First, what have we learned now about this case? Yeah, a body was found in the woods in Great Falls, which is the home to Supreme Court justices, cabinet secretaries, and Virginia's former governor. An arrest was quickly made. It was Alexis Antonio Cadillos Campos, a 19-year-old illegal immigrant who allegedly stabbed a 42-year-old woman to death and tried to set her on fire. The Biden administration had apprehended him at the border but released him into the interior of the country. It's a horrifying case. How did the community respond? Well, this one hits close to home for me. A lot of residents here aren't angry because they genuinely don't know that this was an illegal immigrant released into our country that murdered this woman. And the police chief wouldn't say. You can hear him here. Yeah, so the immigration status question is one that I know you all. These journalists can make contact with folks at federal law enforcement levels to find out the answer to that question. Now, neighbors had been worrying about a murderer on the loose on the online platform next door. So I got on there and I posted, quote, a 19-year-old illegal immigrant has been arrested in the stabbing of the woman in Great Falls Park. And for that, you were kicked off. The platform deleted my post and banned my account. And that was all the post said. Yeah. And others on the site replied he couldn't be an illegal immigrant because they had read multiple news reports and none of them. They don't realize that of the eight people charged with homicide in Fairfax this year, half of them were in the country illegally. So this really is more the norm than an outlier. And four people would have been alive this year if just immigration law had been enforced. Yeah. And the police chief dodged that element, too. Is there a message for the community? We understand from federal sources that this teenager is an illegal alien from El Salvador, was in Border Patrol custody. Down in El Paso, Texas, in 2024. And from our calculation, it looks like about half of the murders committed this year here in Fairfax County were committed by people in the country illegally. Is there a message to the community when they hear this, they suspect it, they find out it's true? If I were to send a message to the residents of Fairfax County is that your police department solves these egregious, horrific cases. Now, this is an area, the broader northern Virginia. Virginia area filled with federal employees and now up to 20 percent illegal immigrants. And they've basically banded together to oppose Donald Trump. They elected Abigail Spanberger as governor just last year, who on her first day in office this year ended the state prison's cooperation with ICE. Now, what are the local lawmakers saying? Are they acknowledging this? And if so, what kind of messages are we getting from the congressman? Congressman Don Beyer didn't defend the policy when confronted with this case. He actually claimed it wasn't happening. Telling Fox News, quote, my understanding of the law is anybody who's committed a serious felony is turned over to ICE. Now, it's hard to understand how the battle over this very issue between Spanberger and the federal government could have played out all year in the headlines without the congressman realizing that's not true. Well, a disturbing case and also troubling that a platform would boot you off just for trying to inform the community about the basic facts of the case. Luke, thanks so much for coming on. Thank you.
