GOP Blindsided at Debates

The transcript celebrates the strong debate performances of three Democratic women running for Congress—Kate Conley in New York’s 17th District, Denise Powell in Nebraska’s 2nd District, and Janelle Stelson in Pennsylvania—highlighting their effective critique of Republican extremism. Conley confronts Mike Lawler over his failure to address household costs, his ties to Donald Trump, and his support for harmful tariffs and healthcare cuts, which have driven up living expenses in the Hudson Valley. Powell challenges Brinker Harding for his ignorance of local realities, opposition to public education and healthcare, and alignment with Trump, calling for Medicaid restoration and affordable energy policies. Stelson exposes Scott Perry’s consistent support for the Iran war, his opposition to housing reforms, and his role in raising energy costs and undermining healthcare for thousands. All three candidates emphasize that their policies are rooted in community needs, not political posturing. The speaker argues that these women represent a shift toward accountability, empathy, and economic fairness in American politics. They call on audiences to recognize and support these candidates, especially as they challenge the influence of Trump-aligned extremism and prioritize affordability, healthcare access, and climate responsibility. The broader message is that democracy thrives when elected officials listen to constituents, not just follow party lines. The campaign urges viewers to share the content and help elevate progressive, community-focused leaders in local elections.

This new group of Democratic candidates for Congress are delivering some of the best debate performances I've seen. And I'm not just talking about the higher profile races in the United States Senate or in the governor's races. I'm talking about some of these congressional races that aren't getting nearly enough attention. I mean, I'm talking about races like the New York 17th Congressional District where Kate Conley and army veteran West Point grad. She served six tours of duty. I mean, she just let Mike Lawler, the MAGA Republican extreme is having. I want to talk about what happened in the Pennsylvania debate where Janelle Stelson absolutely crushed it with Scott Perry. And then I want to highlight what was taking place in Nebraska's second congressional district with Denise Powell. She was amazing. And you probably don't get to see a lot of these debates. They're local to people in the States and in those congressional districts are paying attention. But I want to use the platform here at the Midas Touch Network to shine a spotlight on these three incredible women because their debate performance was inspiring. I know you will be inspired. And here is what I ask of you. Share this video with as many people as you can because we need to highlight these incredible women candidates over here. These incredible candidates period right here. I want you to watch as Kate Conley in the New York 17 congressional debate turns to Mike Lawler who tries to mansplain consent and domestic abuse to Kate Conley. And she basically says, how dare you try to mansplain that to me? Just sit over there and don't you ever do that again in law or didn't even know how to react here. Play this clip. I'm sorry. I do not need. I do not need you to mansplain to me. What domestic abuse and sexual assault against women is in the appropriate response. Don't stop. Sit over there. I want to show you this moment where Maga Republican extremist Mike Lawler from New York 17 congressional district refused to answer how much his weekly grocery bill has. But this was a very easy question for Kate Conley to answer. She just gave the number. $300, $75 more. Watch Lawler who's at utter phony here. Play this clip. Or how much has your weekly grocery bill gone up in the past year? And how has that really impacted your household budget? I'll give you 30 seconds here. Look as a family of four and my in-laws living with us. I understand the impact of high costs on family. I pay a mortgage. We have car payments. We have grocery bills. We're paying about $500 a week. It is expensive. I get it. That's why I have fought on issue after issue after issue to drive down costs here in New York, which by the way, Democrat controlled highest taxes, worst business climate, lead the nation out migration precisely because it is too expensive for people living in New York. Thank you, Ms. Conley. How much has your weekly grocery bill gone up in the past year? And how has it impacted your budget? 30 seconds? That question was too hard for him to answer too. So my bill right now is about $300. It's going up about $75 after the last year. More over here as Lawler had to admit that the tariffs, this is how far he would go. It was a mixed bag. He says, play this clip. We want investment back in the United States. We want manufacturing back in the United States. That's the objective. Give you 15 more seconds here. The question was helping or hurting families. I said it's a mixed bag. And then let me show you over here as we have Conley, another incredible moment where she says, this guy is linked at the hip to Donald Trump. Every time it's matter to the people of New York 17th Congressional District, you know what Lawler has done? He sided with Donald Trump to hurt you to take away your health care, to cover up the Epstein files, to jack up the costs even more here. Play this clip. And what we have seen out of my opponent despite the lip service is that every time it has mattered, every time, whether it was the tariffs, the war in Iran, health care cuts, where was Mike Lawler standing side beside with Donald Trump, voting with him, even when it harmed the Hudson Valley. More from Conley over here, talking about what she has heard from families and businesses. Let's play this clip. By the end of this year, Ms. Conley, do you believe that President Trump's terror policies are helping or hurting families in this district? You have 60 seconds. Dan, I have to tell you that I have heard from families and businesses all across the district. The real harm that the reckless tariffs are causing, to include businesses being forced to close, tariffs that my opponent voted for eight times. And I have to tell you, when you add up all of the harm that Mike Lawler has done to Hudson Valley families, the total goes far higher than just the tariffs. When you add up health care utilities on top of all of this gas, an average household in the Hudson Valley in 2026 is going to pay nearly $9,200 because of Mike Lawler's loyalty to the Trump agenda to include because of these tariffs that have jacked up the costs and everything from groceries to regular household goods to construction material in the middle of a housing crisis. They need to be repealed. We need to be a lot smarter. We need to be doing things that help people in the middle of an affordability crisis. Not hurt them. Thank you more from Conley over here, where she talks about how Lawler loves his data centers, play this clip. And so as you heard, he is not for a data center moratorium because he wants to continue to green light whatever AI companies and data center companies want to do. And more over here as she explains how, you know, your buddy who you pal around with Max Miller, who's been accused of horrors even by her, his former father-in-law, you don't condemn it one bit. You're play this clip. And just I don't need this guy to try to tell me how a woman should respond to sexual violence or domestic abuse allegations against women. I don't. And look, we have got to have people in Congress who don't condone these types of behaviors. You still haven't condemned the behavior of Max Miller, your buddy. And I don't believe those types of folks belong in Congress. I agree with his father-in-law, a Republican no-hi-o. And I don't believe that people who condone that type of behavior belong in Congress either. Finally, I'll show you this Conley's kind of main message. You deserve a patriot and not a puppet. Let's play this clip right here. You deserve a patriot, not a puppet. You deserve someone who is going to go to bat for you and always put country over part of your person. And that's where this November, it's about bringing people together. It's about sharing values and what we believe America can be, what the Hudson Valley can be. And I am doing this because I know that America's best days are still ahead of us. I'll show you the latest Emerson polling from this Congressional District, New York 17th, Kate Conley, 48 percent, Michael Lawler, 46 percent. Lawler, remember, is a massive phony. He tries to pretend that he's like a centrist. No. He is a mega Republican extremist. He loves working with Donald Trump to cover up the Epstein files to put data centers and everybody's backyard to take away your health care to destroy your lives. Lawler, Trump, destroy your lives. He hates the people of New York's 17th Congressional, he hates his constituents with a passion. All right, let's go to Nebraska's second congressional district where you have Denise Powell, the Democratic candidate. She's pulling ahead of the Magga Republican extremist, Brinker Harding. He's a city council guy over there in Nebraska. Second, she leads 46 percent to 42 percent. Let me give you a little background on Denise Powell, mom, small business owner, former corporate executive. She worked as a corporate communications director. After the 2016 election, she co-founded Women Who Run Nebraska, a pack that recruited trained and supported hundreds of women running for local office in the state. And many who are holding major positions in the state and making their work matter where it matters the most as Nebraska is under massive attack by the Trump regime and Magga extremist like Brinker Harding. This is Denise Powell talking about how her opponent, Brinker Harding, Denise Powell says, this guy doesn't know anything about this district here, play this clip. Brinker's remarks tell me that he hasn't talked to anybody because I don't think I've talked to a single person who feels like things are going really well right now. I haven't talked to a single family that is just feeling great about their economic situation right now. I haven't talked to a single senior who feels really good about their situation. The families are struggling. My opponent is endorsed by Trump. He says Trump is doing great things. He thinks the terror policy is great. He was supportive of this war in Iran and it is crushing our neighbors. These cuts to our health care system have left tens of thousands of our neighbors without health care. And it's made it even more expensive for tens of thousands of others. There are children going hungry in our communities because of this bill. Now we can say what we want to say about it and elements of it and sure there are part of it that I agree with, but at the end of the day, it is so clear that the policies of this administration are crushing the people of this district. Now some breaking news about the climate. It's a story that hasn't gotten nearly enough attention. So since the war with Iran began, Americans have paid more than $100 billion extra for gasoline and diesel. Gas has gone from under $3 a gallon to nearly $450, and I bet it's even more where a lot of you live. And so recently, in the middle of all that, what do the Trump administration do? Well, they gutted fuel efficiency standards. The previous rules would have pushed new cars to about 50 miles per gallon by 2031. The new target is under 35. And by the administration's own estimates, they say that this will increase fuel consumption and carbon pollution for decades, like they are admitting this in their own numbers. Let me say that again. In the middle of a fuel crisis, they made it legal for new cars to burn more fuel. And you're going to pay for that every time you fill up for as long as you own your car. And it's part of this broader pattern that we're seeing while the war dominates the headlines. The administration has kept quietly tearing down climate protections, including moving to repeal limits on power plant production. And that one is now being challenged in court by 25 states and cities. Meanwhile, a quick comparison. So Britain has saved nearly 6 billion pounds on gas imports during the crisis because of record, wind, and solar. And energy isn't just about the planet, although it's certainly a big thing. It's about not letting a war overseas decide what you pay to get to work. If anything, the war should show us that we should be less reliant on these fossil fuels, not more. I mean, what do you think? Should our officials be doing more? Do you think that future administrations need to focus on re-implementing these standards? And what do you think of our climate segments in general? Let me know in the comments. All right, Ben, back to you. Denise Powell talks about how she will protect funding for public education. Let's play it. I will always, always fight to make sure that our public schools are not being de-resource and defunded for any reason. The starting, you have 45 seconds if you'd like to re-butt? Yeah. My opponent supports sex education for kids in kindergarten. Here she is talking about being on the ground actually speaking with voters. Portability is the number one issue that I hear from people at the doors. And I will tell you that nobody is feeling great about the state of the world right now. These tariffs and this roller coaster policy that the administration has set out on is costing the brass cans about $4,000 a year. The cuts to clean energy production are jacking up our utility costs by a few hundred bucks a month. We have all seen these ridiculous gas prices at the pump. People are drowning and the reason that I was in opposition to the big beautiful bill is because it gutted Medicaid and it gutted people's access to healthcare at a time where everything is getting more expensive. And now people can't get access to the care that they need. This is really, really serious. And the window dressing of policies like no tax on tips and no tax on overtime, I support all of those things. But that was not the intention in the big beautiful bill. They are temporary. They expire in three years. If those are so important and they're working for people, let's make those permanent. Let's make the middle class tax cuts of 2017 permanent. Let's make some change for the people who desperately need it right now. And here she talks about how Maga Republican extremists are destroying rural hospitals in Nebraska, how they are closing because of the disastrous budget bill. Watch this over here. Let's play it. I think we need to reverse the Medicaid cuts that were developed in the big beautiful bill. That has just caused the whole system to start unraveling. There are tens of thousands of Nebraska's who no longer have access to healthcare. In addition, I think we need to make sure that we strengthen and return the ACA subsidies. And we need to build on the ACA. It was always meant to just be a starting point. We can make it better. I also believe in a public option. I think there's a lot of people who fall into a gap, who need access to an affordable plan that they can voluntarily buy into. And I think we need to empower Medicare to actually be able to negotiate prescription drug prices. We need government to go to bat against pharmaceutical companies and lower prices. There are far too many seniors bagging groceries at my high V because they can't afford their medication. We can do better and our community definitely deserves it. Meanwhile, brinking hearted, brinker hearted. By the way, a real weirdo this guy as well. He's a strange dude, um, again, big Donald Trump bootlicker, uh, clearly hates the people of his congressional district. I mean, his policies show the contempt that he has for the people of Nebraska's, uh, second. And so this is the closing message. I'm just going to show you this is what the National Republican Congressional Committee put out. It's like, I'm showing you their main message. I could, I'm not showing you anything other than this is what they're saying. This is why you need to vote our guys. So you can see it for yourself. And he goes, he goes and, uh, you know, the thing about Denise, uh, AOC. She's endorsed AOC and thus vote for me. I think that that's, that's your message. And again, as Denise Powell said, this guy's just about culture wars and division. He's got no plan. He's a flunky. Anyway, watch his closing message just so you can see it for yourself. So you can see it. I want to make life more affordable. I want to make life more accountable and DC more accountable to you. I want to make sure that you have the American dream. My opponent has endorsed AOC twice. That's the, the queen of socialism. That's not what America is. That's not what I'm going to let America become. I am going to go back there and fight for you. And then I want to bring us to Pennsylvania, a big, important race over there. And you have Scott Perry, the Maga Republican, uh, extremist. And he is, uh, running for reelection and you've got, uh, Janelle Stelson and Janelle Stelson, uh, longtime news anchor over there in the community, 40 years as a news anchor. I've had her on the network here and incredible candidate. And she talks about how Scott Perry was, was the deciding vote to cut healthcare for nearly 20,000 of our friends and neighbors in central Pennsylvania, play this clip. Only one of us voted for a bill that is threatening struggling hospitals. Only one of us voted to take health care away from people who live here and need it. Uh, that's Scott Perry. He did that in the big, beautiful bill. And let me also say when he took away your health care and we're about ready to have 20,000 people lose their Medicaid, including somebody I've been talking to and did a campaign add with because the family takes care of the son who was 35 when he went into the hospital. He had a terrible experience in the hospital. He came out paralyzed and cannot speak. And these people are living in fear that they are going to lose their Medicaid. And Scott Perry's vote did that. And let me tell you, you know who we gave credit to when he took away our health care, he gave it to the people who want to build AI data centers. He wants to take away state and local representation that could say no to these developments. And he gave $80 billion to the people who want to build them more from Stelson over here, talking about how Perry was the only one in Pennsylvania's congressional delegation to not vote for the biggest housing legislation, he hates housing, play this clip. My son works full-time and still can't afford a house. Well, Congress recently voted to lower housing costs and keep Wall Street from buying up all the homes. President Trump supported it. Every member of Congress from Pennsylvania, both Republicans and Democrats supported it, but not Scott Perry. Scott Perry has taken $400,000 from Wall Street. Perry votes with them to raise housing costs on us, Wall Street should not be buying up all our housing. I'm Janelle Stelson and I approve this message. More over here where he Scott Perry has asked, how long is too long for your constituents to wait for higher gas prices? Let's play it. Specifically high gas prices, Mr. Perry, a few weeks ago you told me that Americans need to be patient with high gas prices, much like President Trump has been saying exactly how long is too long for your constituents to wait? You have 60 seconds. Well, it's already too long. None of us like paying high gas prices, I pay the same prices. Janelle Stelson then talks about the amount of times that Perry has voted for the war in Iran, intent, it is six times. Let's play it. Today is six months since the war in Iran started. Our congressman Scott Perry has voted to continue this war five times and increase your costs over and over again. It costs more than $4 a gallon, up more than 30% since April. If you drive to Harrisburg from York or from Carlisle to Hershey, astronomical, and it does not stop at the pump, the truck that gets food to your grocery store, your electric bill, and ask a farmer what this is done, diesel for the tractor, fertilizer, their costs went up too and that shows up in what you pay at the store. So people are forced to do the math at the kitchen table, fill the tank, fill the cart, drive to see the grandchildren or wait another week. Six months in, nobody in Washington is treating Iran like the emergency, it is for families here. It is time we ended this war. Also Perry is just an utter Trump bootlegger. He continues to lie and say Donald Trump won the 2020 election. I mean, the guy is a maniac, the guy is an absolute lunatic. So I wanted to highlight those incredible candidates.
