Brooke and Connor reflect on their experience watching *Dancing with the Stars*, discussing the emotional and psychological impact of live performances, judging feedback, and behind-the-scenes realities. They express frustration with harsh critiques, especially toward a friend who is new to the competition, and emphasize that such feedback feels personal and unfair despite the performers’ dedication. Brooke shares her vulnerability and resilience, describing how stress and missteps affect her emotionally, yet she remains grounded and confident. The conversation highlights the gap between the show’s televised version and the real, high-pressure reality of rehearsals and live dances. They also explore broader themes, including age-related identity, digital habits, and financial mindfulness, noting how younger audiences are engaging with the show. Personal anecdotes about family, parenting, and mental well-being are interwoven with reflections on media culture and storytelling. The episode ends on a hopeful note, with excitement for future episodes and new media projects like *Verity*, which resonates with themes of truth, trauma, and emotional depth. The hosts maintain a candid, self-aware tone, emphasizing personal growth, emotional honesty, and the importance of supportive environments in competitive performance. Their discussion blends entertainment with introspection, showcasing both the highs and lows of public performance and personal development.
A bengal hates to see this one coming.
Yup. Okay.
Okay.
I guess we'll just say, hey, welcome back to Brooke and Connor Makeup Podcast.
That's always a good place to start.
Okay.
You know?
Yeah.
So, hey, Brooke.
Hey, Connor.
I like your shoes.
Thank you. They came with these laces.
That's sweet.
Yeah.
I have two pairs of those alohas.
I thought that it was just something that the website was doing to be quirky,
but when I received them, they were two different color laces, and I like it.
That's fun.
And I like it.
I like it, too.
Yeah.
That's very cool.
Yeah, how are you doing, my sweet, precious, tiny dancer?
Good, it's so good.
Fall kind of. No.
Fall's here.
Do not cry.
I'm not going to cry.
Fall is here, though.
It's fabulous.
It doesn't necessarily feel like it in Los Angeles.
Because it's hot.
What did you do this week?
I didn't do much.
I've been watching a lot of TV.
I don't remember how to do this.
It's hard because it's like we know what we need to talk about, but it's like, how do we get?
Yeah, okay, whatever.
We'll just do it.
I think just like you can just start.
Or do you want. Maybe I can say something?
Yeah, yeah, you start.
I didn't make it. Dancing with the Stars was on last night, which is one of my favorite shows.
Oh, I missed it.
You may have heard of it.
It's on ABC, 8 p.m. EST, as well as 8 p.m. PST.
Not to be confused with them coming out at the same time.
Very funky.
Because why would they?
You know, one of my friends is on the show.
Mm-hmm.
And I. He's a good friend of mine.
And he did amazing.
Wow.
And I want him to know that genuinely, and I'm not blowing smoke up his ass because he's a partner of mine.
Like, that was a good dance.
Thanks.
And like, you are getting choreography that is really challenging.
Yeah.
Because you can do it.
Yeah.
Because you can move your body.
Yeah.
Because you can move your body in a certain way that is exceptional.
Yeah.
And you're being held to a really high standard because of how you can move your body in that fabulous way.
Thanks.
Yeah.
Love to move.
Yeah, I know.
Before we even, like, do any of this, like. Yeah.
I feel good.
Yeah, you should.
Like, I feel good.
You should.
I posted a lot of stuff last night.
I called you or. Oh, I called Logan.
I wish Connor would have called me.
It was. It was. We stayed after the show yesterday, like, pretty late until, like, 10 p.m.
We were there doing press and stuff.
Yeah, it was, like, it was, like, a very fun dance.
It was a very different dance.
You guys. And I also want to get ahead of it because there's, like, a lot of stuff.
It feels like I am in a different world than the show people are watching, you know?
Because I'm, like, doing it and then I see all these things and it's different, but, like. Yeah, what are you seeing?
So, I don't watch the. I can't watch the show after because it's, like, genuine PTSD.
But two things have come across my desk.
One, obviously, everyone sees the TV version, which is the camera version.
So, they see a different show than what the judges see.
The judges, like, you guys can't get mad at the judges.
The judges are there and they're sitting at an elevated space where they can see every step.
So, the score is coming in.
The show has been around for 25 years.
I promise there's method to the madness, you know?
Like, I guess they got. They were. Booed after my scores were received.
It's not even, like. Do you mind if I speak as someone watching the show?
Please.
I didn't see the show.
And I know the judges are your buddies.
And I, like. I definitely like a few of them.
Yeah.
Definitely like a few of them.
There's only three.
Your. Whatever.
The scores are one thing.
Yeah.
Like. I just, like. They're so hard on you in a way that it's because they know. How good you are.
And, like, they can be hard on you.
And they don't, like, feel bad for you in any way.
But, um. I was, like, pretty. Can I. Do you mind if I say that I was. You can say. What can I say?
Can I say how I felt?
You are free, Ren.
I was really upset with Carrie Ann.
Saying. Saying, that's a shame.
I stood up and I. Booed.
That's a. That's a mean thing to say.
You were the first words to come out of your mouth.
What a shame.
No, thank you.
I'm, like, always curious.
If I got. If I got out on stage. I just don't make you laugh. performed my heart out, and the first words were, what a shame.
Yeah.
I mean, you know what?
I would have. I want to raise you this.
Yeah?
Before I received what a shame feedback, first words, first person I look at, eye contact,
Miranda Cosgrove.
Yeah.
Second person. She was pretty front and center.
Second person that I'm looking at while I say I'm going to throw up, Snooki.
Yeah.
If you can imagine, like, a. That's, like. I took melatonin and fell asleep during the day.
Yeah.
That's, like, the experience I was feeling.
That is, like, nightmare.
Like, I'm on Dancing with the Stars.
What a shame.
Miranda Cosgrove, Snooki.
Miranda Cosgrove.
I do cuss a little.
Yeah.
That's, like, what I was hearing in the back.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It was. You know what?
I didn't fuck with that.
It was a shame because. You can say that.
Yeah.
It was a shame.
You can say it.
It was a really good dance.
I know the whole dance.
Two things.
Two things really quick.
One, I'm getting a lot. I have the feedback.
It's, like, keep your head up, buddy, which is very much feeling like someone that's my
age that I work with calling me butt.
Like, I'm okay.
We work really hard.
I'm naturally bummed because we put hours and hours and hours of practice into it, and
then I do a dumb misstep that happened in my head.
I'm going to be upset about. Yeah, of course. not nailing the thing that we've been working on.
Yeah.
Like, that is natural.
I'm not going to freaking kill myself over it.
You recovered really well.
Yeah.
I knew the dance.
You knew the dance.
Luckily, yeah.
Anyway, but there was a lot of, like, online discourse about, like, this season is so weird.
Everyone's so stressed, and no one's having fun.
It's a competition.
It's a sport competition show.
If everyone was hysterically laughing after the show, there would be, like, no one's taking
this seriously.
I think everyone's having a good time.
I'm having a blast up there.
I have a ton of fun with the press.
Yeah, you do.
You know how to work the camera.
My dad said, you're a showman.
Brooke's father's here, Brett.
My dad's looking at us right now.
Hi, Brett.
That's why I wasn't there last night, because we're doing some father-daughter time.
Dad fixed my curtains.
Oh, my gosh.
Yeah, fixed my curtains.
That's awesome.
Yeah.
But it's just, like, the judging.
Yeah.
And, like, it's not even the scores that I'm upset about.
It's the way that different people are, like, being treated that's, like, ruffling my feathers.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And it's, like, I know why in my heart.
It's, like, because they know you have the potential to make it to the top, and they're
being hard on you.
But, like, be nicer to my friend.
Because he's. For the first time, I'm not. It's his first time dancing, too.
I am genuinely. It's your first time dancing.
That's what's crazy.
I think they've forgotten that, like, you have zero experience.
Zero.
Like, the fact that you're doing what you're doing with zero experience is unheard of,
and they're so hard on you for what?
I'm not taking. It's so weird.
I know.
You know how, like, if someone. If someone responds to me, and they're, like, they're in their car or something, or they're,
like, in a meeting, and I get a response that's, like, very short, and I'm, like, they hate
me, and I thought we were close friends or whatever, and I take that so personally, I
make up a backstory about how this person hates me, and now I have malice towards them,
and that's all made up, and I've taken something personally completely out of context.
I don't want taking the judge's very direct, almost hurtful feedback personally at all.
Oh, I am.
That's fine.
That makes sense.
No, I don't take it personally.
I feel good.
We're in a really good spot, and what's cool, like, unfortunately, like, the storyline's
amazing.
Everyone loves a storyline, you know?
To be on the receiving end of a storyline is, like, not awesome, you know?
But down here, you know, and then to come back, I think Sierra was a really good example
of that last week, where she came in, and they were pretty harsh on her, and then she
came in, and it was like, Sierra Miller is in the building.
Baby, you know?
Like, that's a cool thing to have.
There's ebbs and flows.
Yeah, it will feel really good next week when you, like, nail it, and. How boring would it be if I was, right, just, like, doing okay the whole show?
Oh, yeah.
Decent dance.
Like, I have no qualms with you and your story arc.
I think that this will be a fun. It will, and you're amazing and perfect, and, like, one of my, like, closest friends.
I am, like. I'm having, like, clarity moments after I post, like, ah, like, I'm trying to be, like,
earnest and, like, give people behind-the-scenes thoughts. You've been so earnest. before they go away.
Yeah.
And I'm using the internet as my journal.
I have never felt more like the thing that we always say when. Sorry, I'm very stupid.
Hey, you are not.
You. Don't say that about my friend.
I'm like, you guys, I'm okay.
Yeah.
I'm gonna be. The girl that's gonna be okay.
Yeah, you are.
I'm right here.
You are.
I practice right after this.
Yeah.
For next week.
Yeah.
I'm so excited for next week.
It's a really weird thing to do this dance and then go out and, like. sorry fuck it up you know like yeah and i'll to have to be in the headspace that we were in
basically like the part that i messed up i was very very aware and i'd messed it up previously
like not like crazy remember last week i was like last week genuinely i told you it was as if i had
been dropped off on the beaches of normandy yeah in terms of heart pit heart rate this week i was
totally cool i was at ease i was like okay i'm messing this up this up the ballroom floor ends
you know and if you step off the ballroom floor i think you get seriously
disqualified yeah i think you might get disqualified i think i don't know i don't
know how you know but there's cameras there and we were flying towards these cameras and so every
time i'd be in my head i'm like we have to stop we're gonna hit the campus so that's what you
see there when i when i misstepped we were barreling at these cameras and i missed the
one step and then i tried to catch up luckily i knew when we had to get back on anyways
did you know that a few seasons ago the guy from coda was on dancing with the stars and he's deaf
and he can't hear the beats yeah can you imagine that no that feels pretty impossible i guess you
can feel the vibrations but like still to me that feels like a like an impossible feat yeah
it's crazy what people can do is what the human spirit is capable of true yeah yeah um
well i think you did amazing and you know yeah you're my mirrorball champ thanks forever it'll be
a fun i'm excited for next week it'll be a fun journey i'm like if people like if nothing else
great tv oh yeah fun tv that's what i genuinely my apologies for like taking the competition
seriously you guys know that i can't play fishbowl with my family anymore because it's not fun for
anyone right i take it too seriously we have retired fishbowl from my home because if you're
doing if you're acting out the grinch like why are you on your tiptoes you know like that will
piss me you know this is the same thing i'm in a competition i'm taking it seriously there is going
to be spikes and there's going to be lulls emotionally and there's going to be excitement
i might over i might over celebrate even if i do well next week yeah however if next week
if i mess up next week there will be no baby there will be no next dance baby you'll never
find my body it'll be far it'll be gone can you tell us anything about next week
there's an underlocking key it's yacht rock okay um which give me an example of yacht i want to
tell you a bunch of examples of stuff that's like very shocking to me yeah there is an age gap where
like things are we've now hit the age gap i'm obviously like on my phone my whole feed now is
obviously just videos it is crazy videos of me messing up and then videos of um people being
like like talking about dancing with stars and being like is dancing with stars popular again
or am i at the age where i watch dancing with the stars i think both i think it's a combo piece
but there's a younger audience that doesn't know what yacht rock is and i'm feeling very
confused i don't either okay it's basically like i've always done this because like you know i love
to be on a boat yeah and i'm always like i love to be on a boat and i'm always like i love to be on a
boat and i'm always like i love to be on a boat and i'm always like i love to be on a boat and i'm
always you know like kind of my ears perk up when i hear about someone's parents that have a boat or
maybe they you know they have a close friend with a boat you know i'm always looking for the person
who owns the boat and when i'm on a boat i'm like who who can who can i talk to about who's
the manager i would like to speak to the manager of the boat um because i want to get on ox i want
to play hollow notes there i want to play yeah it's like kind of like let me think hollow note
some fleetwood mac i would say lenny kravitz would be yacht rock but you know yacht rock who
who else would be christopher cross absolutely um
welsh anyway it's like kind of just like
what yacht rock did you play like in the house for example none you're not a yacht rock person
i actually listen to yacht rock in the sense that there's a few there's
like um a band that jimmy buffett jimmy buffett the doobie brothers um listen to the music is
that yeah yeah yes i think so there's a band that turns show tunes into yacht rock there you go
which i like like bill withers um yes toto i think would okay play so anyways um you know
your song i don't think i can say it yet okay yeah hollow notes kenny loggins toto steely dan
i like all these people
um little bit of a fall younger audience is not like getting what yacht rock is there's a moment
last night when we're sitting up there and i was like oh my god snooki's here and riley was like
who's snooki and then i said oh oh okay and then i looked and i said oh my god miranda costa
she goes stop for my she goes who's that i go for my carly she's like what's that no no no no
that's really really really scary it's all right but it is crazy there's like a lot of
things are really happening i honestly think dancing like this season is bringing in a new
generation yeah because as we're so young you have we have a young fan base um i don't remember
who else is on the show but i'm sure that as we're just crushing too oh i mean the guys that's i mean
like i mean we knew we knew he's good i i knew he was trouble when he walked in i think i did too
yeah yeah i feel like everyone i meet lately is trying to be smarter with money myself included
cash back here coupons and points there but why does it take so much effort we all just want to
make our money work a little harder i totally agree connor i love a good deal but if i actually
have to hunt for one or go out of my way to activate a coupon i've already checked out yeah
well brooke i think it's a good deal i think it's a good deal i think it's a good deal
i think i found one you'll actually like prime for young adults it's actually pretty genius
it's a prime membership for 18 to 24 year olds that actually makes prime feel like it's built
for you all right you've got my attention connor but what's the catch what if i told you there
isn't one i'm talking about five percent cash back on eligible purchases in categories like beauty
apparel electronics pcs and health and personal care you're telling me this whole time i could
have been getting rewarded for the purchases i already make and with no catch exactly
you're not changing your shopping habits you just get rewarded for them and the best part
the cash back is automatic no coupons no activation no extra steps now that's the
kind of reward i can get behind no extra work just getting rewarded for the life i'm already
living talking about prime for young adults five percent cash back a hundred percent made for you
i'm talking about that if you're between 18 and 24 check out prime for young adults and start

hard on you julia styles so that like to me you two are like with the julian similar skills yeah yeah
yeah yeah it's great i uh fabulous yeah yeah so good i i i think that what i
what i need to do is like i've never i'm done talking about it after this no i mean you know
i never want you i want to talk about the age thing again for a second okay but um just like
the level of like you think of like amber it was phenomenal she did all the things she said really
good yeah it's phenomenal amber didn't land her triple axel i think in the in the olympics like
i can't imagine how devastating that must have felt me being bummed about misstepping during my
ronde in my corner yeah but that was my dropping my my triple axel i want you guys to know sorry
i just realized something my goal was to feel vulnerable um i did it yeah uh check yeah check
i felt vulnerable never wanted i'd like feel good about where i'm at in terms of putting myself out
there kind of want to go back into my shell a little for a little bit um messing that up messing
that up and being like and then alfonso being this is the most viewers we've had ever and i'm like
yay
but you know what your post interview was like really really good it was earnest i had a
different one ready assuming we were grilled you had something else i had something really
grilled up last minute yep and i was like i really wanted to show off this dance it's a very
different and i you know being out there there was challenges but obviously we overcame we didn't
quite overcome uh-huh what did like riley say to you after if you like anything helpful or
she's so voice over she's just like you're not an answer like what do you want what do you
yeah
expect and i'm like i expect to do the dance that we nailed 45 times right like we did it
kind of i want to ask her if we can do this um go do one run of this week's answer like at the
grove in the middle of the road before we do it i love that and then just be like that is
there must just be some like performance anxiety that happened because i'm not
i'm not even nervous when we go out there i'm not i'm just like there's little parts every every time
we do a dance where i'm like okay don't mess up that part there's like a little thing that's like
you're gonna though yeah bitch oh i'm sure everyone has that yeah um here's what here's
something maybe a question you can answer okay for you know the first dance you did i would
describe as like very sexy yeah last night i would actually describe it as more romantic
yeah if you if you could give us one word for next week light light yeah cute i love that
yeah i think it'll be really nice it'll be good another good change of pace nice and light
nice and light slow i love that anyways feel good next week's gonna be awesome storyline vibes
character arc vibes um in terms of technique and dancing like the trained eye we are doing like we
are doing the dances
so like that is something to be proud of you know like i don't really have you're not relying on
stunts and shock value some people are you're not i wish i i wish i you're doing that you're
doing really hard dances the dances are really hard my goal was to learn the the style of dancing
and the and the things and to have fun and so to anyone thinking i'm not having fun i'm just like
really competitive but trust me when i say i'm competitive and i look sad when i shut the camera
off i'm fired up i'm competitive in a fun way if you're on my team
yeah competition you're not have we played any board games together ever
or like i feel like every time it's gotten to fishbowl at a party i have gone to bed yeah
so i love how no because you don't like like games i like um i like group games that are
that people are aware are going to get heated you know like what
games do you like fishbowl i guess i've never played fishbowl with you yeah like i feel like
you wouldn't play like like i would play backgammon like you wouldn't play stuff like that
or like categories we have to play fishbowl this weekend okay cat texted me sorry sorry
do you want to hang out are you guys gonna hang out or something sure i'd like to hang out okay
cool i love that that's cute um i yeah i i we should play fishbowl and like have
a good group and i want to get really competitive i think that maybe having something that's not
specifically dance might help me ease my mind channel that energy into something else yeah in
the fishbowl that could be pretty and good that could be pretty maybe i'll really like let my hair
down at fishbowl and then i'll really could tie it back yeah um um oh the age thing i was gonna tell
you something so so weird do you have that thing of where you think about ages and things happening
like wait this was never supposed to happen yeah that i was you know like things happen and it's
like oh wait oh my god i don't know how to explain it try a little harder for me okay i'm i am like
really putting brain into this but do you have that thing of where you get to a point and there's
like a canon event and you're like oh my god i'm i'm it's happening to me too it's happening to me
and then you're like wait this things just like start to happen and like play out and you're like
can you explain an example of a canon event that might happen
i kind of like how i said it like if your eyes start getting blurry yeah yeah or like my knees
hurt yeah and you're like wait i wasn't supposed to be aging or like yeah yeah yeah i wasn't
supposed to be aging about how like i've already passed like the example i used last week that's not
great was like i i passed like my mama mia age because i was not raised in greece yes
so that one was out of my hands but like in terms of
um it's just like you are having high cholesterol yeah
like huh my dad said something really upsetting recently which was
that when he brad do you mind you would not say anything when he looks in the mirror
the the person he sees looking back at him is not the person he feels like
like how what do you how old do you feel you are in your in your soul
no i feel the the thing is the person looking back at you is not what you expect to see the
person looking back at him is not what he expects is that a somber song
it might be but the person up and it happens quick what's you know what sucks you look so young
yes and i'm saying that with my chest
and for us both i do fear that there will be a day when it's just like boom you know
i i want to look in the mirror like you go to bed one day feeling like i'm still young and
then you wake up the other the next day and you're like i'm old i asked you i've been like talking
about age a lot with with him this trip i asked him like what was the exact age that he was like
oh i'm old what was it for you different ones few different ones when you're 40 you start losing
your 40. when you're 40 and you start losing your vision and your hearing and your hair starts
falling out good thing we are not even remotely close to 40. when am i going to study abroad
right you've studied abroad
for like a week i really need to like do an immersive study abroad trip
why are we putting ages on studying abroad i really want to go learn like
it's a thing oh our brains like at some point shut off to like learning a new language
huh like i think at like 25 when your brain is full i'm making i'm talking out of my
i hope i hope you are but like i really do think at like some point your brain
is like less male malleable and that could be the wrong word to like learning new things
like a language like it's much easier for you to learn a language when you're younger
because you're more of a sponge i wish that yeah i feel that way with the dance too and then i want
to be done we can be done talking about dancing with stars but we don't have to i think we should
oh here we go oh my gosh children learn a new language mostly recently what children learn a
new language most easily and can reach i can't even learn mine can reach native like fluency
at age under 10 10 to 18 they build it the ability to learn grammar and remains oh my god i'm adding
words so why do we start learning a language in high school that's dumb we should be learning in
under 10. when when a new language most is most easily due to neuroplasticity that's the word i
was looking for instead of malleable plastic it worked it both worked yeah uh well anyways i'm
going through like canon events at this specific time
i really need to like hold back on what i'm posting and what i'm telling people i'm
no you're in your vulnerable i'm in my vulnerable era i've been loving like i actually your video
your vulnerable post dance video came across my desk last night i was like i mean i freaking love
this guy oh my god i was like thinking of something to comment and i was like really like usually i
would like say something like jokey but i was like i don't want to and i was about to comment like
i love you and you're my friend
no literally i just was like sitting there for like 30 minutes like trying to think of something
no but like what did you what did your mom and dad say oh my god well i'll tell you this here
great segue i will tell you that when i finally saw my mom at dinner because i told you we got
there late yeah sat down she goes nice job pete order the uber they had they my mom's like i need
to go to bed like right now so it was like hard to get feedback from her but she did text me this
let's read it so now this is kind of like the feedback i get from my mom in terms of dancing
with the stars um really the only feedback i should be getting is good job right different
something a little bit different came through this morning i was able to write a
feedback at length let's let's hear it was riley leading last night or you
okay leading what because you know when you're like yeah no i want to hear
yeah i want you to get there even though like it's an easy answer say it out loud yeah yeah
like in the dance
okay and then this this one like shouldn't make me mad but because it's from my mom like
i had to shut my phone and do some breathing good morning it's a new day
thank you for letting me okay did you respond no i felt it was better for me not to respond
because when you act on emotion oh totally
to get to dinner with my parents and then sit there in my frustrated state and still be like
what a blessing it is to feel frustrated that i didn't nail a dance that i know so well but i'm
in a place where i'm on dancing with the stars and i'm frustrated with my performance and it
was on live tv but i'm gonna be okay and then my dad be like i can't figure out where my lift is
and i look at his phone and it's upside down in his hands
okay
okay
and then receive a text from my mom that says it's a new day heart and it was like the 2d heart
not even like the red bubbly heart take some space today yeah recharge yes not that you need
to but if you want to sure recalibrate and we'll see you on that dance floor later
at your earliest convenience
and let me just say if you don't mind before unless you have something else to say no i want to say
no i want you to i want you to like close like close out where i i'm closing statements yeah
close out this also wait before my closing statements the commercial you you spilled your
water all over your cardigan just now nothing matters anymore nothing matters and this this
specific can flat cardboard box taste love that the commercial that you were in yeah before dancing
how did like that happen
were you just like i want to do it or they picked they picked me yeah you're me that was really good
thank you i mean the way you acted incredible i believed everything that you did and said i don't
really understand great thanks i was on star power thank you and everyone's been saying that you're
gonna get some acting roles after this well that's what the internet is saying by the way pay close
attention to the space as we walk out of you know what i'm just gonna start saying stuff because like
i'm in a space i have an announcement i've been sitting on but i literally can't say it how about
you just say it no i can't because i i want it to be like a a buzz is it the announcement that i'm
thinking of yeah oh fabulous yeah and it's just like i'm gonna hold on to it because like
i don't want to like blow my load now and then like i have so much left of other stuff i'm gonna
save it for when like i really need but like p.o.p me trying to leave y'all know i play too
y'all know i play too much y'all know i love an announcement yeah oh my god i know it's like i'm
totally nothing makes it yeah you i mean like how fun isn't it how fun is being like i'm so excited
to announce no the best days of my of my life the things that i've been most excited for have been
the night like the announcement days like even like more so than like my book coming out the
night before like announcing it was the best night of my life christmas morning yeah i couldn't i
can't sleep at night before my book slept like a baby night before i had to announce it was the
best night of my life christmas morning yeah i couldn't i can't sleep at night before my books
announced my book up all night so excited just like let me it's so funny what when you post and
then you go i'm just gonna post it really good you know that shit yeah so hard yeah oh yeah i love
you yeah just like oh yeah something's i'm sure something's happening on my phone but i don't
need to look at me on my phone who cares at all yeah oh i love my that's a good feeling yeah god
we're sick i know that i know that
um but before you know just my closing remarks are just that i'm just so i'm just so proud of you
well thank you i appreciate it i really am so proud of you it is a joy to watch you
every week like it is truly like i've never been this like happy and excited and looking forward
to something every week and you've touched my heart and the hearts of america and i'm just like
just so proud of you it's crazy thank you yeah i can't wait for next week it's extremely nice and
um
we'll just move right along we could obviously talk about this forever all my interactions with
each individual people obviously i have to do my little brother ezra talk again the guy is maybe i
could meet him next week if yeah if there's time if time permits the guy is so wise beyond his years
like truly i can't ask him enough to run for a play like a political seat like he is perfect in
every way he's just the best person in the world and then you see his dance and it's like let me
like like i was shot he was chaser big time just like that was thank you for chasing me so to
to flow me right out of the minds of and hearts but um just the best guy in the world now hey guys

skims skims has become one of those brands that's just permanently in my rotation
their cotton pieces especially are so soft and comfortable but they still feel flattering and put
together it's the kind of stuff i recommend to friends because once you find a basic you love
you end up reaching for it constantly one of my favorites is this skim cotton jersey straight leg
pant they have the perfect amount of stretch and somehow feel like true lounge pants without
looking sloppy i can wear them around the house all day then throw on a cute top and sneakers to
run errands without feeling like i'm fully out in pajamas yeah the cotton jersey fabric
that she was talking about in general is just so soft and easy to wear
and skims really knows how to make basics that you actually want to live in
what were you saying shop skims cotton and all of my favorite pieces at skims.com after you place
your order be sure to let them know we sent you select podcast in the survey and be sure to select
our show in the drop-down menu that follows i feel like everyone i meet lately is trying to be
smarter with money myself included cash back here coupons and points there but why does it take so
much effort we all just want to make our money work a little harder i totally agree connor i love
a good deal but if i actually have to hunt for one or go out of my way to activate a coupon i've
already checked out yeah well brooke i think i found one you'll actually like prime for young
adults it's actually pretty genius it's a prime membership for 18 to 24 year olds that actually
makes prime feel like it's built for you all right you've got my attention connor but what's the catch
what if i told you there isn't one i'm talking about five percent cash back on eligible purchases
and categories like beauty apparel electronics pcs and health and personal care you're telling
me this whole time i could have been getting rewarded for the purchases i already make
and with no catch exactly you're not changing your shopping habits you just get rewarded for them
and the best part the cash back is automatic no coupons no activation no extra steps now that's
the kind of reward i can get behind no extra work just getting rewarded for the life i'm already
living talking about prime for young adults five percent cash back a hundred percent made for you
i'm talking about that if you're between 18 and 24 check out prime for young adults and
start earning cash back on the purchases you're already making prime for young adults is only
available for 18 to 24 year olds terms apply sometimes the shot lingers more than the chaser
man i don't want to i don't want to linger oh maybe you could do linger one night maybe
i'd like that um okay well right before i went out to dance jenna dwan came up right after her dance
and we're really good friends like we're friends and i'm like right in the zone that's like the
first person you hug and so like yeah i wanted to hug her and obviously i'm right in the camera
camera shot that was a good viral moment i'll take i'm not having trouble with the viral moment
like i'm doing okay you know um the dancing i'm struggling with randomly they i wish they would
i wish that it was just like show really is only half about the dancing i wish that it was press
with the stars yeah nailing the press having a great time with the outlets um yeah um yeah i
went to hug her and her her her mic was underneath her thing and so jenna johnson stepped up and fix
it but i got uh yeah i got um another missed hug that's my second since the show started what
remind me the first riley in practice and that was in my package yeah and that's kind of oh and
then the last thing was i'm getting sponsored ads from calci the sports betting app oh yeah betting
on me you guys i never thought of that but one of uh our friends it's making me in a dancing
like fantasy league like those on calci no no just like i think it's more of just like a bracket she
has with her friends maybe i should get into sports betting i don't think you need to okay i agree
yeah that would be like me being like maybe i should start smoking cigarettes no need that was
like when i was like i'm gonna start smoking cigars bro deep cut yeah it's like just like
something that's like actually no need no need to pick something else up no need to pick up another
bike speaking of what i got i bought a game cube a game cube i bought a game cube last week i thought
those were obsolete completely you bought did you get it from ebay i was scammed to the gods where
did you buy this it's a hollow box no there's no wires in it no yeah 100 down the drain there's no
return address where did you buy it ebay
you can report the seller i did good i did but what made you buy a game cube you did you also
bought an ipod i bought an ipod i did i talk about the ipod i don't remember yeah i bought an ipod
wow what's happening to me i bought an ipod oh i know what's happening to me i'm just on my phone
watching me mess up in slow motion 600 times in a row and then i go time ah time for bed
you know i need like to play super smash brothers and crash bandicoot for an hour to decompress
sorry reading before bed is not going to work for me because i'm gonna i'm gonna fall asleep
on page one there's gonna be drool on my book can't do that so i do need to have some blue
light before bed as a treat as a treat for my blue light all day i i think you have me muted
on instagram what do you mean i think you've my story is muted i don't know yeah i'm being honest
i'll look after because there's been like four things i've been like i saw today i saw it this
morning driving here no i don't think you did are you going to look up if i saw your story yeah
because you know i purchased that feature i did too bro of needing to search oh i did too no you
hit you you haven't viewed any of my stories and i checked about a week ago because i posted
something of us and i was like hi has he not seen this yet it's like really sweet
and you hadn't and i was like that's weird and then ever since then i've been checking
on you and you've not saw this i saw all this
i saw all of this
and then there's no fibula view who viewed the story fibula 20 seconds ago
oh maybe she'll on bnc have you been are you the one posting everything on bnc no thank you to
whoever is though that's very kind i'm sorry that you're saying everything twice what do you mean
i'm seeing everything like it's it's going on our account i'm sure oh i don't care okay
but thank you to i think you've been you had me muted i didn't have you muted okay i just
i could have done something that you've had me muted before the people that are muted
are sadistic okay just just like try and like view my instagram i know that is i don't know
why that would be because lord knows all i'm on my phone for is to see not asking pictures and
videos of myself just want your attention not asking for anything except your undivided attention
i wanted to include this in my conversation about like going to dinner with my parents last night
just like you know there's that trend of like my dad when i'm already overstimulated
yeah can you you want to hear what he said last night after my dance yeah you see this is normal
dad
i said do you know tom brady through four interceptions best quarterback ever and the
next week he threw five touchdowns so you come back am i tom brady in that situation
no i think tom brady is tom brady oh wait say it again i think i made that up i think you did too
and i'm not tom brady but i like it wait what did he say he said tom brady through tom brady
through five interceptions one week and then the next the following week he threw
four touchdowns
so it's bad to throw an interception yeah okay yeah that's a good lesson it was a good lesson
and i don't think it's i don't think that even happened but i do take i will take placebo yeah
take placebo take placebo and run with it i told you last week before my dance last week
i was at lunch with my parents and i'm trying to really calm down
and a lot of people are like noticing that i'm strung in high stress you must be new here
that is how i that's my baseline it is good my stress is good for me you know like if i'm not
stressed i would be stressed i would freak me out i'm sitting there at lunch with my parents
nice it's great to see them they're in town they extended the invites are about to about
10 or 11 other people so now there's babies their friends just like our family it's like
babies running around and everything and we're in a they switched the restaurant last minute to
a sports bar because there was football on and so it's jam-packed and there's babies running around
whatever i look to my dad he's giving me advice his mouth is bleeding he's bit his tongue there's
blood coming out of his mouth i'm boasting he's like listen it is just fun you know like it's
not like you're bleeding pretty heavy i catch my mom at the end of the table she's going
i can't even hear her she sat at the end of the table she's like
i'm like that's pissing me out you know like that's making me mad shouldn't make me mad
babies are in a different booth and there's like silverware setup that's a table that the
servers are going to seat someone at and they're playing with the fork
and the knives i'm like okay this is us this has to wrap up pretty immediately we go to head home
my mom has that mom gene in her where if we're on a hike she needs to be pretty much like completely
in front of us where you can barely see her she does that on the bike too we're biking on the way
home i can't see her i'm like you know whatever she's probably already home turn the corner she's
on the ground and complete she's falling off her bike laying on the sidewalk
cars pull up
she's laying on the ground talking to the car and i can actually hear she's like yeah i don't know
what happened the curb was higher than i thought and i was like okay like this is just like too
much so i thought my parents being here would be like a i can like revert and depend it has been
my mom called me bless her heart i'm so excited that they're here i love them but
my mom calling me right before i got to dance we need early checking at the hotel
baby call the hotel baby you hear you have their number baby you have the wrong number
hey man i get it but you're doing great and you're managing your stress levels
the best that you can the best with the tools that you have and um your toolboxes is overflowing
what does that mean i don't know it's just you have the tools yeah and you're using them to the
best of your ability and that's all that that you can do did you see grace writer got snl yes
we are on the precipice of something
magnificent we might be i do with her and veronica yes exactly i do feel like something
happens when you get to snl where they water you down from something incredible and then this ice
melts in your cup and you become like leftover lemonade in your car from earlier in terms of
like jokes and well said i don't feel like you can do that to like a grace i agree no her and
veronica kind of remind me of like or veronica kate mckinnon
and like ad bryant like that or like tina fey and maya rudolph yeah i i've i mean sorry
tina fey and amy poehler yeah i have a good feeling about what what's to come do you still
want to be on snl not right now i mean unless if they invited me to be on snl i would say yes
it's not i mean like that would never yeah i would open a whole new pipeline of dancing with
stars to snl that's what i would say i would say yes i would say yes i would say yes i would say yes
that's a pipeline that hasn't been tapped yet could you imagine how i would feel if there was
feedback from a performance on snl no i actually can't i would i would drive my car off of the
santa monica yeah i know that best to stay away yeah for now until you're invited on speaking of
pipelines did you see the new traders cast first of all so many um dancing with stars people
whitney who else
there was another um joey grisaday whitney joey i am watching the civilian one and i'm really
loving it and i will apply for that one pony simpson being on this is such like out of left
oh my god if i was on her season i'd be following her around like a puppy dog
that's awesome yeah but i'm so excited i'm loving the civilian season yeah you should watch there
was something at the round table that was just i need i need to be had me screaming at my how
at my four inch samsung plasma but four inch oh and craig conover he's also i got a really small
tv by an accident really yeah where am i in my living room i've seen your tv it's not small
i got a new one because my other one broke you might not have noticed but it's fairly small
it's not it's like one step above like michael scott's plasma no just in relation to the space
it's like a large mantle space and the tv doesn't take up much of it so it just looks very small
oh yeah but i'm excited
to see what happens next
i'm going to watch you on traitors stop and i'm going to be on the civilian one at a similar time
so it won't be like an issue of us like butting heads on the show oh my gosh you know yeah we
wouldn't butt heads we might butt heads i don't know that's scary i don't know i don't know what
i don't know who idiot can i but i do some part of me does want to find out but i do think it's
like raya or it's like if i keep talking about it it's not going to happen so i'm not going to
stop talking about traitors i don't know other than i like have to be on it
um yeah you do kristen chenoweth no i yeah cody simpson yes i don't know i know whitney
i don't know anyone yeah i'm gonna go down through the i'm just gonna skim in craig
i'm i'm talking like that full second row i do joey oh chloe i do know where's chloe snowboarder
i don't know chloe yeah i feel like this is how it always goes for me though i only know like a
handful because i don't watch reality tv except for dancing with the stars which is one of my
favorite shows so
that's all i have for you guys i hope you guys enjoyed this video and i'll see you in the next
one bye bye
trailer for the elizabeth holmes documentary they put it out came out this morning is that
one part where she's like this yes that was like the like trailer teaser but the full trailer came
out this morning you know she was breastfeeding when she was doing that she had a baby that's
why she the baby's in the trailer oh okay like i was just like they kind of did her wrong it
looked like she had parkinson's oh i didn't notice that she was like this oh she was oh
like in that moment she was breastfeeding yeah okay i didn't know that did anyone get did we
get any sorry to we i want to
did we get any feedback about like i texted brooke after i could be dead wrong i'm sorry if this is
just the dumbest thing i've ever uttered but did we get any feedback about like our seemingly hot
take about elizabeth holmes oh people i think i i got one dm of someone being like you don't get it
which is true and i said the words i don't get it so no need i don't like i think i'm pretty much
standing my ground you know what the problem was it was not the like investors that she conned but
like the actual
like real life people whose data she took and we're depending on her can i say something about
taking data sure they have it she took their blood and like they were like depending on her
for treatment that part obviously the people that like this was their one-stop shop
but what i'm understanding is that like everyone backing this like
walgreen should be held accountable for putting this unfounded business in it before it was
founded you know like there are so many people at fault besides the one woman who was actively
using the money to research and build the company maybe this is maybe nathan will like explain this
yeah because she was saying like in the trailer she was like i did not do anything wrong and like
standing on that business so like maybe she's gonna blame walgreens and you know and nathan will
will bring light to that he's the perfect person to do it he was asking like questions
that like i don't think a neurotypical person would ask like he just has no fear so i think
it'll be really good and it's in theaters good for him yeah i'm really excited time for a win
for nathan for once for once i'm really excited also prime time what's that which is robert
pattinson and it's about chris why do i want to say hansen is it chris hansen chris hansen who
did dateline how to catch a predator yes and so it's that one so i'm really excited about that i
genuinely think rob burt pattinson rob if i may yeah you know him is the most talented actor of
our generation uh yeah i would say so yeah i like that he's like he's the cool goofy i can speak
from experience he's the coolest guy in the world and goofy he he jokes around with me you guys are
but you guys have like your own little like
um and i know that i just see the way he like jokes around with zendaya i'm like that's cute
that's so that's so us drama no i want to really good oh yeah god knows i'm god knows i'm not
really i don't really watch much besides tiktoks this is gonna be really good really excited for
this also verity yeah have you heard of that one anne hathaway is putting in the
work she won't have to retire no i really truly think we will not see her and it's gonna be like
a meryl streep thing she's gonna come back and be like hey i'm still here this book like this
is something that like everyone has read and like even the people who are like so mean about
colleen hoover like have read this book and enjoyed it like this book is scary like i was scared when
i was reading this what's scary about it's a scary book what's scary what it's about is this famous
author verity and i read this book and i was like oh my god i'm gonna be like oh my god i'm gonna be
this when it came out there it is a person i think i read it one name it was maybe like seven years
ago that i read this so take my summary with a grain of salt but this famous author has an
unfinished manuscript and she is in a coma or paralyzed and so her husband hires dakota johnson
this new woman to finish her manuscript and so she finishes the manuscript in verity and the
husband's home verity meaning the book and she's like oh my god i'm gonna be like oh my god i'm gonna
in the attic like in a coma paralyzed and like the house is like being haunted by this like
paralyzed woman and it's like is she moving like is there a ghost like what's going on so like
obviously dakota johnson starts having an affair with her husband and like they're being like
haunted while that's happening but then at the same time that that's happening dakota johnson
discovers another unfinished piece of writing by verity who was paralyzed that was basically like
i killed my daughter because they have a dead daughter and so it's like is that true or is that
just like fiction there's like a lot going on and it was very scary what a fabulous piece of work
yeah that sounds really good it genuinely is entertaining yeah that sounds really good i do
want to say like dakota johnson and uh anne hathaway perfect people that's a perfect wife
in a coma and mistress collab completely
anne hathaway shamed she's in a coma but i guess she's moving around like a ghost oh what a shame
you know what there's gonna be flashbacks i bet because in this like additional uncovered
manuscript like she i think she's like writing about herself but it's like is she writing
true events or a fictionalized version of events dakota johnson's such a
the casting is pretty damn perfect sorry you're in a coma i'm gonna fuck your husband that is
like pretty much someone's gonna fuck your husband lady you're upstairs this
yeah um that will be good yeah and then there's this other scary movie called other mommy
not liking that so far have you seen the trick no i don't know so it's jessica chastain i love
jessica chastain and the the trailer's just her like blinking in a really scary way
yeah and like being upside down and like her head like kind of
turning but basically it's like she has this daughter who keeps seeing another
version of her mommy and she's like i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know
me around the house other mommy but this is a book that i read and the book is called incidents
around the house other mom and it's about this little girl seeing somebody that she calls other
mommy so other mommy is a pretty good and accurate title change for it um really really scary book
the ending was i literally was like this could be like a five-star book i'm like genuinely scared
shitless and can't read it before bed ending was so bad that i ended up giving it like two stars
because it just ruined the whole thing and i'm like i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't
the whole book so i would bet since they changed the title of the book they're fixing to change the
ending as well so i'm actually really excited to see it because i know you read scary books i do
read scary books i like scary books especially books when you're reading are you like oh i would
say it's rare so it's like i would incidents around the house and verity were two where i
was like i'm genuinely spooked but it's hard for me to get genuinely spooked because i read a lot
of thrillers which aren't like oh this is scary it's more just like
what will happen next i'm excited for this twist these two were actually like oh that i'm spooked
okay if you want to read spooky books for for
for Halloween for Halloween but unfortunately incidents around the house which is other mommy
like really it it bungled at the end they really messed it up by the way I mean the author
unfortunately even though he's one of my favorite authors he wrote Bird Box which was such a good
book Josh Mallerman like this is it like was such a good book and then the ending just like didn't
work for me because writing is subjective um but yeah those are two really scary books if you're
interested in reading some scary books over spooky season which I'm sure you're not trying
to read the damn salt book still so whoever I'm gonna read it I'm gonna read it because
I'm gonna be spewing facts about salt it's called a history of salt I just like okay
it's like kind of interesting I wish I could repeat some of the things that I read but
unfortunately that's just not in my it uh but if the whole point is like you wanting to spot facts
about salt and you can't even repeat what you've read so far like it doesn't bode well just put
it down with love you know I have so much respect for you and I'm so proud of you sorry 484 pages
oh wow do you not own it
oh what oh I own it and okay you didn't see how long it was I try not to look
I'm like so anti you reading salt a world history well basically salt is good for you
no I know that
um so that's one takeaway that I have and it had become like salt of the Earth is a saying
um salt can be used many ways and it's been around forever do they talk about how it like
got a bad reputation at some point I'm not there yet I'm excited for the twist I bet they will
speak about that I think Tanner was talking about like when he's watching something he was talking
about like when he is watching or reading something that has happened like it's not
historical fiction is actually a story that happened in the past and he gets to the big
thing he's like oh what like when OJ put on the glove and it didn't fit yeah huh you know when
salt when they get around to salt them deciding salt is bad for you I'm gonna be like no it's not
so well I don't even know if that's something that uh Mark or Lansky will be covering it was
just something I was asking you about as the expert well I'm looking forward is that Mark
Lansky no he's the young man this is the young man that made the book famous because this is what I
saw and I really thought this was coming across my desk as like someone who reads books that aren't
enjoyable oh that's actually Mark Lansky oh Brock I like him you know what my favorite compliment is
what you're being so funny from me or from anyone just anyone yeah someone someone said it yesterday
and I was like I get bone bones yeah you're being so funny
you know you are you have been being really funny recently
that was just like something that I I was thinking about yeah I like that compliment too did you see
Harry Styles is doing a tour and did you see who his openers are yeah I did did you see who his
openers are yeah do I forget this was like a shift for me and like understanding where like
