The episode blends a lively, whimsical studio atmosphere with personal and professional life updates. Hosts Rianne Fran and the team transform their office into a vibrant, club-inspired space with disco lights, plants, and planned future additions, celebrating a shift from corporate to fun, expressive energy. This is contrasted by a sudden and unexpected personal disruption: their landlords want to move back into their apartment, ending their lease just before the start of a long weekend. The hosts, who had planned to stay in the apartment for years, are now in shock and uncertainty about their future housing. They’re excited for a Labor Day weekend filled with beach trips and casual outings, but the news has sparked emotional reflection on the apartment’s significance and the memories they’ve built there. With only a few months left on their lease, they’re adopting a cautious approach—actively searching for new options without rushing into buying a home. They acknowledge that moving isn’t on their radar, but now it’s a pressing reality. The conversation also touches on the show’s casting of *Dancing with the Stars*, where hosts praise strong pairings, debate fairness in dancer pairings, and highlight moments of excitement and controversy. They emphasize that while some viewers criticize the show’s casting, the overall appeal lies in the journey and entertainment value. The episode concludes with a broad look at upcoming TV events, including *Mormon Wives* and new seasons of *Dancing with the Stars*, while reinforcing the hosts’ excitement about both personal and entertainment milestones.

What's up everyone, it's chicks in the office with Rianne Fran, giving you that Friday energy on a Friday. And it is Friday indeed, and we have that Friday energy pouring out of our systems. - All things pulsing. - You wanted whimsy? We're giving you whimsy. Hit the lights! Oh yeah, we wanted to make sure that the new studio had a club effect if we ever wanted to really adjust. Oh, oh, you thought we were corporate? Wait until I take my titties out and smack 'em on this table. How's that for corporate, you whole bags? I don't need the bags of the club lights like this. Oh, no they don't. Not in corporate America. Not at club, Ceto. And what's greatest thing you can't even really see, we have this over, it kind of feels like a disco ball. It does. How's that for whimsy bitches? Maybe we need a disco ball. Why not? We just go full club. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We call it, we're like, it's a speakeasy. Yeah. It's actually speakeasy, where you think you're walking in to a corporate office. But we're actually already drunk, so true, so true. Kill the lights, kill the lights. All right, we're back, we're back. We're back, we're headed into the week. If you were listening, if you were listening, we, we, the lights have special effects. They do. So we can change them all different colors, they can flash, they can do all this fun stuff. I got a plant behind me now. Yes. Brought the plant back. Yeah. We're slowly going to be bringing more and more things in, just like one day at a time. Like the next episode, maybe there'll be a flower in the table. There will be, and don't worry everybody, there will be a dog bed for all. Yeah, we do, we are, there will be a dog bed. It's been ordered, it just hasn't come yet. And then this place is going to look like a living room or a dining room. And it's going to be fantastic, but I'm loving it. And the vibes are high. We're going into Labor Day weekend. How are you feeling? Great, I'm excited for the long weekend. This is one, this is one of my favorites. It's a good one. Despite it always bringing those like end of summer blues. But I also live in the world where summer's not, summer's really not over until September, whatever it is, 21st. I'll enjoy some sunshine. Of course, some sitting outside, some relaxing. It's going to be, it's going to be nice. I love that, it's such a good, good, it's a good long weekend. We're both going to be out at the beach, not together, but separate, separate beaches. But having a grand old time. Yeah. Going down the shore. Down the shore. Down the shore. And you're going to hit you in the bars, you're keeping it low-key. I haven't decided yet. I'm definitely hitting at least one or two. Yeah. But not every night. Yeah. It might be just like a one night out of the weekend. Right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, that's fair. So I'm excited about that. I did, I did get hit with some awful news right before this started though. And it kind of like took the wind out of my Labor Day weekend sales. Yeah. It's kind of a major bummer. Major bummer. Our landlords called us like right before this recording and said they want to move back into our apartment. Yeah. And so which is their apartment, which is they own the apartment, which they own. But they're just they're saying it hit their own jack. Yeah. We want to live there again. We want to live there and you got to leave. But they're giving us until the end of our lease, which is February. And then I think some months to figure it out if we need. So you have some time. However, you were really in the mindset that like moving was nowhere on your radar. I thought you were going to say in that apartment for like three more years. We were we fully planned on just, you know, hanging out in this apartment for a while. And they fully plan to allow us to do that. You know, we had those conversations. But, you know, they want to they want to spend some more time in there. And huge bummer because moving just wasn't on the radar. And now we're just so confused because what's the next move? Right, we're like, I don't we don't know. If we were to get a house, we don't know where we, you know, do we go for another apartment? Yeah. Should we buy something? That's why I said, I don't think now. Now we're entering a whole other. It's a whole new ball game. A new ball game that we do have conversations about. Yeah. Often, but nothing settled. We were always like after this apartment. Yes, yes. But you just always tell you have way more time in it. So much more time. I thought I had at least two more years. Yeah. And now I have less than six months. Right. Which does maybe think that you guys should stay in the like rental apartments. Yeah, maybe just one more time. Right. That's probably I feel like that's probably what we'll end up doing because we don't know where we want to like buy a house and and plant those roots. As so they speak. And so just buying a house. Maybe maybe we'll fall in love with a house. And then that would be great. But I don't want to rush into that. You know, we don't want to just like rush into buying a house when we don't, you know, but say a house comes along in an area that we love. And we're going, oh my god, we fell in love with this to a different story. Yeah, that may happen. But I feel like we probably won't go down that path. No, because like I said, if you or if you're not 100% sure, you might not even know what town you know, you got to you got to look around. Yeah, like you could be in one town and be like, oh my god, I love this. Right. I love this house, but you haven't you haven't seen the other one exactly like we love and that thing is we love Jersey. Yeah. And so we want to stick in Jersey. And but then I'm like, I don't want to go too far out because we got a commute into the city. So I don't know, we got to figure that out now. But it's really like that Thursday before labor day. I'm like, quite the call to get really. And it was funny because we were sitting in the studio. And I had said to you, I'm like, our landlord wants to call us. Like we're like Matt said he's getting the vibe that this is going to be a call that we need to leave the apartment. And me and you were like, no, that would be a random Thursday call. Or someone that really tends to sometimes look at it. It tends to look at things. Have empty glass, have a have empty sometimes. I was like, oh, you were telling me last week your dishwasher is broken. Yeah, he's calling. He's calling to say you guys are going to do dishwasher. Exactly. Exactly. I should have thought I should have thought half empty. No, he wants you to move out. I thought the same thing. I said, oh, no, he's definitely calling about the dishwasher update. No, I wish it was about the dishwasher update. So yeah, I'm kind of bummed. And that happened right before I started recording. So now it's just like on the forefront of my brain. But that's going to be a later problem. Yeah, you're just not good at having later problems. No, I mean, I like that you think you've done. You want a done decision made right now. I mean, issue resolved problem solved. Soon as the call was over, I was on Zilla. Like there was like, it's I, yeah, I move. I get things done. If you need a job done, yeah, I'll get it fucking done fast. I don't, I don't, I don't not think that you have the patience to like let this linger for months. No, because I don't like, oh, then all of a sudden, January comes around, we have nowhere to live. Like, yeah, I think that the method has to be we keep a lookout. And if something comes available soon, we take it. And I think that's kind of the vibe in which they're going for like, we'll give you your lease, but if you want to go before, they want to be in as soon as possible. So I think we just got to start looking as soon as possible and see what happens. And at least we have that that time. But yeah, it's a huge bummer because I really love this apartment. So much, so many great memories. I'm gonna get emotional. No, I'm gonna cry for a second. Now I am emotional about it. It's so, now you have made it. Is that Mary or is it? Yeah, exactly. It's just like all your beautiful pictures on the wall. Yeah, and it's just so gorgeous. It's, I mean, like, right. Beautiful scenery. Yeah, I think at the New York City looking at the water. It's hard to get that much space in this area. It is. It is. You know, got three bedrooms. This is really nice. Yeah. Now I don't know. It's kind of soaking every day until you move now. Like, that's beautiful. That's beautiful. Absolutely. And you know what was funny? This past summer, we truly sat out on the balcony, like, as many nights as we had time to. And we're like, oh my God, this place is just, we never want to leave. Like the amount of conversations that we had this summer, like, man, we never want to leave here. It's going to be devastating the day we got to move out of here. And I'm like, oh my God, it's here. Accidental manifestation. Right. Exactly. You know what we got until it's gone. Yeah, well, everything happens for a reason. I got these. Yeah, no one's got these post-racional clothes lined up. Chop full of them today. Yeah, chop full of them. Because he was being an asshole when we first saw him. No, I wasn't. Some's kidding. No, no, well. I came in and just asked about something else. And it was like, you know what, the other guy's not a good time, Bob. That's what it was. Yeah. You missed the big reveal. Yeah. But you know, everything happens for a reason. You guys will figure it out. And I think whatever you find next will also be amazing. Well, then I told you, my God, I was like, oh my God, we'll like so many great things happen here. Yeah, there's good energy out of our past. Very attractive energy.
- I'm very attached to it, so. - You'll feel it in the next place, you go to, like you'll just, you'll feel it when you feel it. - Although I will say this, when I go stay in a hotel or I go stay in an Airbnb, I get acclimated like this. All of a sudden it's my home. Like I will, I do get comfortable pretty quickly. So. - I'm not gonna lie, I already thought the fact that you guys are renting, like this has now happened. So now you're on like high alert for real estate. And you guys are gonna go down the shore this weekend and your eye, you're just to be looking constantly. - She really went down the shore? - What about this place? - Listen, I would move down the shore, but that's a miserable commute. I can't, I can't, that's very hard. - Two and a half hours into the city. - That's way too hard. - That wouldn't be realistic. And I don't know, man. So that's huge bummer, but you know what? Like I said, everything happens for a reason and I'm sure the next place will be, we'll make it, we'll make it our next home. - I'm gonna ask you, is there any available apartments in my building? - Oh. That's generous. - That's so sweet of you. - That's so thoughtful. - That's really thoughtful. - But why don't you sleep on that one? - Yeah, I'll let you know. I'll let you know. Thank you, though. - That'll be fun. I mean, we've done it before. - We have, live, people may not know this, but no one I lived in the same building. Back in. - We not even just the same building. Like if you looked out our window, you would see into their living room. - Yeah, like our, yeah. - Yeah. - When was that 2018? - 2018 to like COVID basically. - Yeah, we lived in the same building. - No, it was literally with Dana Bears. - Yeah. - And I had a roommate as well. - Yeah. - And. - And it's like we didn't even really hang out like that much. - That was a female. - Yes, that was right. - Just said, I was just kind of sad. Like if it was like, yeah, I didn't know, people weren't gonna know what you were referring to. - Right, no, no, no. I, one of my friends. - Yeah, one of your friends. (both laughing) - But we did hang out one time. - Were you burned a hole through the couch? - Yes, I burned a hole in Noah's couch. - Whoops. - That was, yeah. I'm thinking back now. That was my bloody days. - Yeah, I had some mice and cockroaches and cockroaches. - That's where he was. I didn't have that issue. - That's where the great mouse massacre of 2018. - No, no, that's not what the mouse massacre happened. - No? - That was the apartment after that apartment. - Oh. - This was the one where I saw a cockroach in the bathroom and went home for the weekend because of it. (both laughing) - I feel you. - We didn't have any cockroaches or mice in our apartment, so I think it was like a Dana and Noah's. - Yeah, that was just how they had that issue. - Yeah. - Oh, yeah. - They must have some really only like certain floors. - Yeah, we were actually a higher floor too. - Sure, that's true. - Hey, they had nice tastes. - That was funny though. That was some good times. - Yeah. - Speaking of Dana, Saragon Barcel was coming to a close. Finale will be on Monday, final four is Matt. - Behind it episode, no, I don't know. - I'm sorry. - It's okay. - It's Matt, Dana, Gleny, Ron. - Yes. - And let me tell you, the internet is up in arms. - I saw a lot of the discourse. I'm behind, but I opened Twitter this morning and I'm like, whoa. So many tweets. - Yeah, I don't, I don't. - I opened Twitter like twice a week now. So when I do, I'm like, whoa. - Not having, I miss out on so much I'm having Twitter. - Yeah. - It's an amazing thing for me. - It's really great. - There's nothing to gain. - No, there's nothing to gain. - Every time I open it, I'm like, oh my God, all these people are so mad about this thing. I've been living my life like, like it's not. - Right, and that's how I live. And I haven't had it for like a year and a half now, which is amazing. - Which shows, it's just like. - Yeah, like it doesn't affect me. That's whatever, not having it. But Matt this morning was like, woof. Stop online today, I said, what happened? He's like, people are not happy about this season. It seems, and I didn't look too much into it only because, like I said, I am two episodes behind. So I saw it, but I wasn't like fully reading everything 'cause I was like, oh, I'll catch up when I actually catch up. But, people matter, Jeff D? I think that people, I-- - He showed me Dave's tweets about it. - And that's what I saw, I saw Dave's tweets. - I think that they, there's too many idols in play. And then what happened on the latest episode was, for final five, this is just a survivor rule is the last time you could play your idols. So they all played their idols because it's the last time you could play it. So they're like, all right. None of them had to use their idols. All the past contestants that got sent home didn't try to flush any idols. So like, like Dave's tweets said, it's not on the remaining contestants with their surviving contestants that they made it as far. People are taking it out on them. You're taking it out on people for playing the game and lasting. Like that's not, no, you should take it out on the contestants who got voted out that didn't make any big moves on these players that kept their alliances. You know, so I don't understand the hate for the remaining players. They did what they were supposed to do which is survive the game. - I think it has nothing to do with the people competing. I think it was maybe a little bit more of the structure of this cast. Like I think they kind of overlooked when this cast was put together, how many people are really close friends. - Yes. - And how that would affect the game. Because you kind of think you're gonna have a normal season, but if you don't really factor in the fact that some of these guys are best friends. Like they are going to obviously ride with each other until the end. What they're doing makes sense. And if like me, you, Kelly, Gia, like if we were all in a season, like we'd do the exact same. - We would ride that shit. - We would ride it all the way until we can't anymore. And if no one's like trying to flush not, like no one's came up with some big crazy plan to try and like flush idols out or anything, that's gonna happen. - But that's how Tommy's video, and he said, which is true, it's like, but that is the difference between, like it's a different game. - It's a different game. Survivor, no one knows each other. - Yeah, that's the point. So like that's what makes it interesting. - Yeah, and listen, I have found the season very enjoyable. I think other people, I'm not biased. I think other people that are not screaming online find this to be an enjoyable show. - Totally. - You're always gonna get the people online that say, this season sucked, this season sucked. Dada, people said it about my season. Oh my God, it's the worst season ever. Dada, and then this people-- - Yeah, now the worst season was so much better. - The worst season was so much better, really, because you hate it last season. It's just a thing that happens. The idols, yeah, there were a lot of idols this season, and when everyone has an idol. But also, none of them had to use them anyway. So it kind of was like, was there too many idols? No one used them anyway. So, I don't know, there's a-- - I think it just, it came down to the cast. - It just came down to everyone. - It just came down to them having a really strong alliance. Like, these guys are really good friends, and they made a plan, and they've stuck to it. - The biggest blind side was them getting Tommy. - Yes. - And, you know, they are very close friends with Tommy. - Yes. - So that was a great move. And it is funny because Tommy is the survivor guy. And so everyone was like, survivor guy didn't make, but you know, and I think Tommy's dealing with that on his own if everyone has seen his choice. - Totally, totally. I think at the same time though, it's like, being the survivor guy, you gotta know that, and he does, the odds of you being cut are, at that point are extremely high. - Right, that's why I don't know why he was so shocked. - But, like if I was him, I would just think like, it's my time every single week. I'm like, I can't believe they kept me this long. - Exactly, I've won already. - Exactly. - And I'm a cool and cool expert. - Yeah, so, I think when you take yourself out of it and you look back, you think, well yeah, gameplay would be take me out, exactly. So, listen, it all comes to an end on Monday, will be the finale, and people will do this every season of, I hate this season, go back to last season. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - And then when next season comes, last season was so funny. It's just, it's a revolving door of the same thing, but I always find it to be enjoyable, and I hope they continue to do it. - Yeah, yeah. - You know, it might have to change it up. - That's always a live and learn, such like, you know, they try new things, and maybe it works, maybe it doesn't. It's not a reason to like, go crazy about it. - The viewership is still sky high. - Yeah. - People are very much enjoying the show. - Yeah. - And I don't think people should move away from watching or whatever, just because you see like online talks. So many people in real life, walked the show and go on with their night. Like the amount of people that I had come up to me after Survivor last year, saying the nicest things. I was like, oh, wow, like this is so different, you know. So you have to remember, like, the amount of people talking about how many people are watching it is, people still find it enjoyable. Is it gonna be the most dramatic, you know. - Also, I've seen it this season a lot too, people saying, but they did it with you too, where it's like, no one's gonna be happy at that. And they're always like, oh, like, these people, like, made the show so boring. And it's like, they are the ones you got to the end. So like-- - Right, if you wanted, if whoever you were rooting for, it's boring because they're not in it, they lost. - Exactly, it always happens. It always happens. And then, you know, you get like last season, oh, this season's boring. There's no big moments. Last season, you get the big moments of people crying, screaming, oh, they're crying and screaming too much. Like there's no way to complain about everything. It's just the way it goes. So, but that'll come to a wrap on Monday night. And then honestly, we have so many more shows around the corner now. I'm so excited. - I'm so excited. - We got Earl Mees World coming out this weekend. Chad Powers, we got Dancing with the Stars, Traders, New Blood is coming, which is a non celebrity cast, just normal people. It's gonna be a great television fall. - Mormon Wives. - Yeah, Mormon Wives right around the corner. - Yeah, yeah.
which like, boy, do they have me? Like, is this your love/hate relationship? Where it's like, I, there's just been so much going on in the last couple months, obviously, behind the scenes with stuff, but then I saw the trailer and I was like, well, obviously, I'm gonna have to watch this. - Right. - Exactly. No, everyone's gonna be here. - There's no way I'm not watching, of course, of course. I cannot wait for all the TV shows coming out. Which leaves us, too, we're gonna get into the topics. We are gonna go through the entire dancing with the stars, cast and their partners. We have a sheet in front of us. I love this little table to put our sheet. And we're gonna go through all of it. And we have an amazing interview with Glen Powell and Steve's on. We're wrapping up Glen Week, everyone. We had a great week. It's our first annual Glen Powell week. - Exactly. - And my god, I think I posted something about Glen Powell every single day this week. - I feel good about it. - And we plan to celebrate this every year going forward. So I can remember that this week is Glen Powell. We will remember it next year. And honestly, this was such a fun interview just talking about the making of Chad Powers and past projects they've done really just a fun time with these two guys. So let's get into it. Oh, and we have a great game of trivia. Can't forget that. - Yes, we do. - And that was recorded over Zoom when the studio was not finished. So sorry about that. But we'll be back to normal trivia in person next week. All right, let's get into it. Your personal best is an active brand by Abercrombie. We're gonna go one by one with the star and their partner. We have a sheet out in front of us. We'll start from the top left. We have Tatiana Ali and Jan. - Yes. - I'm an idiot. I did not realize, and this is just me being dumb. That Tatiana Ali was the sister in "Fresh Press About Lair." Like, I am so stupid. And I couldn't believe that I, 'cause I was like, "Oh, what do I know her from?" - And then I was like, "Oh my god, yeah, yeah." - Idiot. I loved the "Fresh Prince." And reuniting with Alfonso. - Exactly. Which is so fun, I feel so stupid. But this is a good pairing. - Yeah, I like this pairing. I'm intrigued about Tatiana, 'cause I feel like I don't know much about her current life. - Exactly. I think that's why I was like, "What do I know her from?" - Yeah, yeah, yeah. We know all about the "Fresh Prince" days, but definitely less about what's been going on since then. Really? So that's good. And I like some of these. The newer guys get in big names. Like, this is a big name for Jan. Well, I'm glad for Jan that they had him return because I feel like he got some criticism last season for being a newer pro and trying to adjust to the style of dance and choreography that they need to hit here on this show. So I'm glad they invited him back. I think Jan's great. I think he's so fun. I think he adds a lot of personality. No glove, no Sasha. And he got the call. - Yeah, yeah. And I feel like this is fair, 'cause you, I don't think it would be fair to have Jan do one season and really be judged. I think you need to have multiple seasons to really see what kind of pro you are going to be. 'Cause it's your rookie season. It's hard, very hard. - Absolutely. You have to learn to adjust. - Yeah, exactly. I'm gonna say the same, come back. Moving on, we have Tyler Cameron and Sharna. Shout out to our guy Tyler. Oh, listen. Texas Tyler. - Yeah. - And was like, "Are you on dancing with the stars?" And he said, "No." - Yeah. - And I texted for him on the side and I said, "He's definitely lying." - He's definitely lying. - He's definitely lying. I know he's lying. - Yeah. - And boom, he is on. He's on dancing with the stars. We're so excited for him. It's gonna be so fun. I assume Rob Roush wasn't available. (laughing) I think Tyler would be okay with that. - Yeah, with that little rookie season. - And you know, he's, I feel like he has been waiting for this call. And I'm so glad that he got it because I, he's gonna be fantastic on this show. What's so fun about this season, just in general, is I feel like we know a lot of these people. You know what I'm saying? - Yeah. - There's a lot of connections and also there's no like, not done is the right word, but there's always, sometimes maybe a controversial person or someone that you immediately be like, ooh, who's gonna root for them, you know? And there's not one person. - I feel that way about Guillermo. (laughing) - Just kidding. - Imagine you go against the one like most beloved guy. - No, he's literally such a ball of fun. - Yeah, I can't wait to talk about him. - No, the most. - He was a new Andy. - Yeah, we're gonna put him in space. - Yeah, it's exactly. So, I mean, I'm so excited for Tyler. I think this is gonna be so much fun to watch him. - Sharna being back is amazing. - I'm the real that Sharna is back. Watching Sharna dance at Dance with the Stars Con, she is unbelievable. - These two are gonna bring the sex on fire. - Yeah, they are. - It's gonna be crazy. I do kind of want her to bring her red hair back. Or maybe a color, like a certain, that doesn't have to be that exact red, but maybe something, maybe a copper. - I know, I know. She's been doing the blonde for a while now though. - She has been doing the blonde, maybe for the season. - Yeah, I don't know. And it's probably too late now to change it. Guillermo and Whitney, we talked about. - We knew. - We talked about. - Giata De Laurentis and Alan Bursting. So, Giata, welcome to the table. Giata, if you know, from the food. - Di Giata, dancing with the stars. (laughing) - She is on the Food Network. - She is a chef. - And you know what? Haven't seen many people from the Food Network on Dancing with the Stars, have we? - There's Bobby Flay been on. - I want to say, yes. - He's been on Bobby Flay's. - I want to say, yes, but now I'm not sure. Bobby, no. Hey, Google, man. - Yeah, search, boy. Get your engine ready. - Search, people from the Food Network who have been on Dancing with the Stars. - Food Network, people, that, okay. - Oh, man. You can see the searches are, oh, Polydine. Rocco was on. Rocco de Spirado. Season seven, that's a throwback. That's really it, then, huh? Why do they have Joey Fattone listed as? - 'Cause I think Joey Fattone like was on "Chopped" one time. - There's a show called "Rewrapped." Food Network's "Rewrapped." - Yeah, I don't think that's, I don't know. - Oh, well, he hosted. He's hosted shows on the Food Network. So that's, that's different. This is a sweet pairing, I feel like, Alan. It was a little similar in my mind, Alan, being paired with Elaine. But I also have no clue what, like, Giata could say, like, I have two lefties. - She's a spicy little meatball. - Yeah, I just, just like, as an Italian woman who can cook, I'm like, she's got moves. - Yeah, I assume that she can dance. - I assume that she can dance. But I'm excited to see that one. We have.
and Val and Jenna Dewan, not to be confused because his wife is also Jenna. - Exactly, and now this one has people up and up and out. - And I is causing a stir. - I wanna say this, unfair, maybe, do I care? - Absolutely not. - I am so excited to watch these two. - Same. - Listen, yes, is she a world-renowned dancer who was a background dancer for Janet Jackson and multiple other stars, yes. But she doesn't know ballroom, she says. And yes, would you assume that somebody who has rhythm in regular dancing is gonna have rhythm in ballroom? Yes, you would. Is it a unfair advantage, maybe. But we wanna watch good dancing and we wanna be entertained. So you know what, if that makes us hypocritical 'cause we get mad at some other people, then call us the biggest hypocrites on earth 'cause I'm ready to watch them dance. - And hot take, that shouldn't be that hot. I enjoy watching this show when people can dance. - I agree. I really like when there are people who can move, who end up on this show and not 20 contestants of people who cannot dance. And yes, people do get better and they improve. But this is also not the first time. I can't stand the conversation around this happens every, well, they shouldn't be a lot of, this has always been the way this show has been. Always, I actually, I searched it 'cause there have been so many people. - No need for you to say it. - I know, but I already have the answers. - I already have the answers, pulled right up. - Just send it to them. - All these people that are upset about dancers being on this show. It has happened plenty of times. Let's not forget, Nicole's surging her was on this show. Wanted. - Wanted the sexiest pussy cat doll. - And when she was on the show, I think it was like season 10 or something. Like she was literally the only, maybe the only dancer on that season. And so yeah, I was like, oh, that's crazy. Jennifer Gray was on. She was a studio dancer. Heather Morris was on, fellow glee cast mate to Harry Schoen. Like there, Joe, Joe, see what we know. The ones that we've talked about recently, Joe, Joe, Charlie, all these people, Mel B was on. Zendaya was on. Like people, Jordan Fisher, all these people that have been trained in dance. Yes, Jenna may be at the tippy-tippy top of that list. - She's one of the best dancers ever. - 'Cause she's an incredible dancer. - I was just saying, it's Zendaya's a dancer. - Shake it off. - She was a dancer all over the Disney Channel. - She was rocky. - I don't know, I never saw that. - She was dancing all over the Disney Channel. So, you don't wanna replay by Zendaya? - Oh. ♪ Put my song on replay ♪ - Okay, well. - Anyway, you know Val also literally, he got used to it in this. - Oh, could not be, could not be happier. Here's the thing, Val was jogging up and down. - Yeah, she was. - Yeah, she was. - Well, she was having a great time. - They asked Jenna, what do you think about some of the backlash that you have experienced? And she was about to answer and Val was like, I got this one. And just went on to talk for 10 minutes. - The problem is, is they're gonna be asked this question all season long. We talked to Val after Dancing with the Stars Con. And we now just have this like ongoing joke that Val does not know about. But it is so funny to us for some reason that he was talking about how he like misses, we were like, oh, do you miss New York? He's like, yeah, I miss New York, you know? - I like walking down fifth, sixth, really any avenue. - Yeah, we did. - He said, you know, he's like walking down the avenue. It's like, give some inspiration. - Yeah. - Fifth, sixth, seventh. - Any avenue. - So he was posting videos from New York. We were like, what avenue is he on? What avenue is he getting inspiration from? He could be any avenue. And you know what, these two are gonna be dancing on every avenue. - They are. - And here's the thing, and this is why the show is so great and why if you're upset because everyone's like, this is such a unfair advantage. Okay, well then if you all think that, you don't have to vote for her. Like that's really what it's gonna come down to. If everyone is that upset by how amazing of a dancer she is, that's fine. But there's gonna be people who want to see her dance. She is going to be amazing. - And I want to see good dance. - Yeah. - We want to see entertaining dance. - Yeah. - Speak of entertaining dance. Harry Schoom, Jr. - Yes. - And Jenna Johnson. Now we're getting a married couple back to back that have amazing dancers with them. - Yeah and people are a little upset. They think Jenna and Val have been getting real favored in their pairings in the last seasons. - But Jenna had a terrible one. - I know Jenna got a terrible answer. - I know, I know. I know, I know. She deserves this. - So I know she won the year before with Joey. So I, but you know, I just feel like there's not a dud in this cast. - Yeah. - So Harry also a dancer. - A dancer. I feel like anybody though could have been a good pairing. Like I don't think there's a fantastic cast. - The only bad one is Guillermo. - In terms of dance skills. - And he might be great. - And Guillermo could be fucking amazing. - Who knows. - Exactly. - And where's the thing? He's gonna be entertaining as hell no matter what. - For sure. So I'm not looking at anybody like, oh, Jenna should have got stuck with the old man who did that. - No. - There's nobody on that cast that would fit that bill. - Right. And I think that, I think that Deanna Katz had that in mind when she was casting this season. 'Cause she put together a cast of people that I think all will be able to dance. - But how do you feel about Brit not getting Harry Schoom Jr. when she's very, very passionate and open? You know what? - That I will say. - I'm upset about it. - I'm upset about it too. Because I feel like Brit gets the short end of the stick. - Sometimes. - And it's like-- - Taylor Hanson. - No, no offense to Taylor Hanson. I think he will be great. People brought up Riley Wanting, Robert Irwin last year. - Yeah. - Riley is still new. Brit is a veteran. So I feel like, you know, as a vet, she should get a little say. And if she, Mora, I know is the star, but she was so open about wanting Mark. - Yeah. - And ends up with Mark. - So I just feel for Brit. I'm like, you know, she was so open about wanting Harry Schoom. Like why, what was the difference here? Why couldn't she get Harry Schoom and Jennika Taylor Hanson? - I know, that is very true. And I don't know. I don't have any actual information to back this up. But I do think that their input is all very much taken into consideration when the pairings do happen. - Right, but you know what I'm saying? - But if it was that much, then she would have got Harry Schoom because she wanted him so bad. - No, I agree, I agree. But I don't know if maybe there's a world where maybe it just didn't line up for this season. I don't know, that's the one where I did think like that could have been a swap. - Yeah, it's just, and you know, like I said, people bringing up the Riley thing last year with Robert Irwin and Robert Irwin goes on to win. - Yeah. - I think it's a little different with Riley being newer. And I think that Taylor Hanson and Harry Schoom could have been swapped here. - They probably thought that that would have been maybe too similar to what Jenna had last season, but still, I mean, I'm really not going to tell you. - Taylor Hanson and Corey Feldman. - Knife in the heart, and I'm still a little on the younger side for Hanson, but the Gen Z days with the Stars fans were like, who is this man? - That was all over the map. It was on TikTok, the search on their videos was who is Taylor Hanson. I went, oh no. - That happened and met on the other side of that. People were like, who is Connor Wood and Tyler Cameron? - Yeah, yeah. - Like, there was a little bit of both. - And you know what I have to say about that too? I'm sick and tired of people every season doing the same thing. They make these videos, and I think they do it just because they think it's going to get them views on TikTok or whatever to be like, this new season I think was dancing with the Stars. How about dancing with the averages? - Okay, I'm sorry. Like, this is how they have always cast the show. - Always. - Always. There has always been people that have been cast on the show that some people in the world go, who? Now, if you are the chronically online or involved in pop culture as much as we are, you know every single one of these people and you're excited about it. It's the people that think like, I don't know if they just assume because it's been such a popular show now that they were gonna get like A-list actors to do this show. But this is the formula they have always worked with. The only thing that I was surprised at, they didn't have in this cast was like an X-MBA or NFL player, but they did include, you know, two Olympic athletes, which are always a part of this as well. I just couldn't believe that every single season we had the same, like NGM made it take talk about this too. She's like, tell me you've never watched Janssen with the Stars without telling me you've never watched Janssen's Stars. Every, or if you haven't watched all the way back to the beginning, every year I remember, and there were times when I was watching it and I'd be like, I have no fucking clue this person is. - And that's fine, you get to know them. - And that's what makes the show so great. It gives people like a moment to have a shine and maybe there is somebody who was crazy popular in the 80s that you aren't familiar with and they're so happy and excited to be on this show and that makes it so fun to watch. - I'm totally with you. I think that you can learn to get to know people and love them and become fans of them. - And guess what? - And that's how you get to know different people. - And guess what, the year's 2026, 2026. And we are in the age of the influencer. They are considered famous people. Like I know people don't wanna say that. It's like, oh, they look at internet personalities and they're like, how are there so many people on the dance with the stars? They're famous. - We need to move past that conversation which I feel like a couple of years ago it definitely was more of a debate of like, if we were gonna be discussing Alex Earl, we'd be like, is she famous? No, no, she's famous. And that's a grand example 'cause she's the biggest influencer there is. But I think the conversation now is, Yeah, no, like Tyler Cameron is famous, Connor would is famous.
they are famous people. Yeah, you know, and absolutely that's is what it is. Absolutely. Moving on, we have Ezra Freck and Daniella. Love this pairing. Daniella seems so excited about this. And he is a power Olympic. So I feel like this is going to be incredibly impressive. And I love the way that Daniella was so welcoming in what seems like all of their announcements of them pairing up together. Absolutely. I I agree. I think that he is a big inspiration. I think he is going to gain a lot of fans really quickly. Yeah. I mean, it's I mean, it is just so impressive, incredibly impressive what he does. And I think he'll show that. And I think Daniella is a perfect partner for him. I think they will work together really well and showcase each other in such a in such a fun way. There's been so many amazing stories on Dancing with the Stars and people's journeys that have been told. And I think this is going to be one that we're really going to remember and and be impressed by. I totally agree with you. And I think Daniella is the perfect partner to capture that when we spoke with her at Dancing with the StarsCon. She had such kind words to say about each person that she works with. And I feel like Ezra is somebody who needs somebody who's going to highlight who he is as a person and what he's been through and what he's accomplished. So I think that this is a great pairing. Moving on, we have Amber Glenn and Pasha. The two of them, they got the they got the athletes, which is fun. I feel like there was sort of you know, these two are also married Danielle and and Pasha similar competition. Amber, another one that I think is probably is not being discussed enough that on paper should be fantastic. So I think it's going to be so fun to watch her and also hear more about her whole Winter Olympics journey because there was a lot of ups and downs. I think she's going to be pretty open with how that all went. So it will be very interesting to see. And I think she's like, I think she's a real sleeper pick at all this because everyone looks at, oh, they're a media like Jenna, Harry, they're dancers. All these things. I'm like, well, you got to put Amber in that conversation then too. Totally. Because we got some fans watch. We've seen people who are fantastic on ice, be fantastic in the ballroom. So they, I mean, they got rid of them. Yeah. Moving on to Julia Styles and Ezra loves. I'm so excited for this. This is like an early favorite pairing for me. Yeah. Now Julia Styles also known for a dancing movie, say the last dance. Incredible. Movie star. So she has, she has rhythm. We know that 10 things, 10 things I hate about you, you know, she's up on that table dancing. We know that she's got some rhythm. And I'm excited to see these two together. I think that this is going to be great. I think Ezra is going to like show us a lot of Julius personality. I don't think she's somebody that we know a ton about. Yeah. And so I think that this is so fun. I'm so excited about this. You know, one of my absolute favorites, the prince and me. Oh, that's a good one. Really just fantastic. No, she's going to be incredible. I think just hearing her talk about how excited she is to do this show. And she really wanted Ezra. And they, I think they're going to be amazing. I think Ezra is going to showcase her like so well. I am so excited to watch. It's going to watch this one. So amazing. Sarah Jane Nader and Haley Bills. Yeah, Haley is a new pro. Yeah. And I feel like we kind of saw that coming. She wasn't on dancing with the stars new pro. Every single dancer on this show talks about how amazing of a dancer choreographer Haley is. And so I felt like that was just in the works and it was coming and it was bound to happen. She did this move on Instagram. Like, I don't know if it was Ezra the day before. Did you see it? No. Oh, my God. I got to show this to you. Excuse me. We can have somebody pull it out. I can pull it up. But let me just make sure it's on her Instagram. That that one where she's got the little piece she's doing the peace sign selfie. Wow. She is flexible landing on one leg like that. Holy shit. Her and Benson Boone to pair up. Seriously. Look at this. I bet in a couple of years, Benson Boone will be on dancing stars. He's too big. I sat in a couple of years using his tonight like speaking now and then it's going to go. That would be a quick client. That would turn your turn now. That would. I think he would like to. They should have a Benson Boone night. Oh, and everyone has to do at least one flip. Yes. Everyone has to flip. Flips are allowed for all of them. These two were also asked right on. I forget what outlet it was, but I went. Oh, right on the when they were doing press. Look, Sarah Jane, it was like, and how happened to you that like glabs out of part of the season. Why? I thought, whoa. I was like, okay. She was like, oh, you know how that like would have been awkward, but like it's fine. And I thought, damn, like what does she think she was just going to be like, yeah, fuck that. Yeah. I'm so happy. He's not here. The glad they listen to me. Yeah, glabs not on Sarah Jane is she's talked about some advice. Brooks has given her, which is basically don't do what she did. Don't get distracted. Yeah. And she's going to she's going to follow that and really soak it in. This is a cute pairing. Yeah. I think that these two are so fun together. Yeah. And they're both like, they're just similar to me too. And I do think it's interesting for Haley's first time on the show to be paired up with another woman because I feel like they are used to dancing with a male counterpart. So I do think it's going to be interesting, but I think it's great. Yeah. Definitely. I agree. Moving on. Mora and Mark, Mora and Mark were on traders together. Yeah. I felt like this was maybe a little unfair. If we're going to talk, I love the pairing. And I think it's so fun and funny. I thought they would never do this. Exactly. Like I thought I was like too close home. They won't do it. Exactly. No way. They've already worked together before. And they've been talking about how they want to be together. So I thought this feels unfair. Yeah. But not to say that I'm not excited about it because I think they're hilarious together. Love Mark. Love Mora. They're already giving us good videos and good banter. So I'm here for it. I'm just a little bit surprised. I agree. I'd like like it was almost too obvious that I was like, well, they would never do it. Right. But that kind of makes me love that they did do it. Right. So yeah, great. We'll do it. Mora was on dancing on ice in the UK, which is obviously, you know, you're on ice skates, right? It's kind of a bit harder. But still, yeah, exactly. So I, this is great. Of course, Mark is always such a talent. I love that he's back on the show consistently. So they're, they're going to be, I think they're going to be great too. And it's a, once again, it's another person that we know that I'm like, oh, I've like, I feel personal stake in rooting for them to do well because I'm like, oh my god. I know I really want them to do well. And Mark is really such a sweetheart. So I know. Totally rooting for him. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Jackson Olson and Emma Slater. I'm putting it now. These two were going to the final if not winning the entire thing. I really just think that something about these two. I think they are going to go far. I think they're already winning the social media game. Exactly. It's like, they're churning out TikToks already. I opened my phone five seconds ago. There's already like a full video of them in the studio and turning out content. She is just so good at the TikTok game and making people fall in love with her. I can listen to her talk about fucking anything. I'm obsessed with her. Yeah. And I think that her and Jackson are going to be so fun together. I think they're going to the final. Like I just automatically. I don't know why. And you know what? I think she's, because he's talked about how they're, he's going to have a pretty grueling schedule just doing this and still doing bananas. So I feel like Emma's going to get out there on the field too. Like they're going to be doing so much fun stuff at the games. Right. I think they're going to pull people in. Yeah. Yeah. That's going to be really fun. Connor would AK fibula and Wiley. Yes. Here's my question. What are we going to do about the two Conner's voting wise? Yeah. They have this before. They're spelled differently. But I do feel like we're going to run into trouble where people think they're voting so true. They're voting for one Conner, but they accidentally vote for a different Conner. That's so true. It's a, it's an OR and ER. Conner will have to do maybe initial or last name Conner. Levitt is ER Conner. Wood is OR. I do think people are going to get extremely confused. What are we texting to two and five two three? Yeah. I don't know how they're going to differ the two. I think maybe they'll take last names. Maybe let's say fibula for Conner would maybe let's go wood. Love it. We'll take it all. Yeah. I imagine what kind of maybe last name. I imagine Jake Shane got the call first for the four Conner would. Right. You would. Yeah. Like like they were like, we're going to take a pod. We're going to take a podcast. Yeah. Yeah. And I feel like maybe Jake Shane was busy. Yeah. Tyler C and him were the backup plans from Rob and Jake Shane. Good replacements, but I drew the year there. But they're great. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. There's something there's with this. With the kind of realistic about who they think because Jake Shane, I feel like everybody wants their hands. Everybody wanted. And everyone really thought he was going to be on this season. I do think that there is a formula. And I think that they pick categories. Right. Like. So it's like we want we have this umbrella of the type of person we want. Now here's our options of who could fifth. Yeah. That person. Hawkeye Eye Candy, who was on reality TV. Number one, Rob Roush. Number two Tyler Cameron. Rob doesn't want it a couple of years ago. Would have been Tyler Cameron on top. Yeah. Yeah. Being realistic. Tyler's great. Then we got funny male podcaster. Yeah. Cute, funny male podcaster. Yeah. Jake Shane. Fabula. Yeah. And James. Yeah. I think it's just a toss up. Like I, you know,
But that's not just say after that if Conor would can do it Marty much now That's a good question Who's in that team I feel like they like own that category I could have seen what's his name Caleb her in oh Yeah, I feel like he's in that you know in like a comedian podcaster space Joe Rogan They couldn't get James Dean Joe and Shane and it's not shake scene called Joe Joe Rogan the that the picture Dancing on dance with like a short guy. That's ridiculous. I'm a two him and take Shane two short male podcasts Yeah, yeah, Jay and Joe Rogan one in the same. I do wonder though I fibula is great. He's gonna be so much fun on this show. Yeah, I do wonder though What did happen with Jake Shane because I feel like it was talked about about how Alex was telling him to do dance at the start That's why I bring I bring that up. Is it doing his show or he's like oh he is doing I remember he's scripted Hulu Show so maybe he's working on that right now. I think he has a big focus on like on being an actor right now Yeah, so my guess is maybe just like the time the schedule wise to just say to work and priority The acting path is probably something more important to him right now, right? That's a guess. I don't know Well, he's also just like I don't want to do that. Yeah I think I'm telling a world that some people just want to do that like one Rapping like definitely does just doesn't want to do dance with the stars who would have been after if it was Rob Rousers I don't know but I don't know if they would have put Robin more on the same season too Like I think that would have been a little bit of overkill Right that would have been almost too much traitors and that's a whole different network Right and Sierra as well was also on traitors, but different season. Yeah, who's after it? So Rob Tyler who's another who would be the other like guy who's on a yeah, who's on a reality TV show that would have been eye candy Like any guy from love Island. I guess. Yeah, probably any of the love Island guys. No, there's not much else to pick from these days, right? It's really just like love Island. Let someone from love is blind I'm trying to think of like people who people freaked out about maybe like Nick Rob's like really the last one. Oh Nick from love Island No, it's typing in hottest reality TV guys Nick Nick I could say Craig Kyle cook number one. Kyle cook could have been up there too, but they're not doing Kyle and Sierra on the carl Carl you'd be probably funny on yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah, but I think that they're in a different category. No, you want to go like day to show very handsome men I'm yeah, yeah, you're talking about legs. Yeah, right, but now Tyler is an engaged man I know I was about to say Harry jowsey that I was like are he's already done it and that was a disaster and I don't find the way I couldn't have been it more I've been happier that we didn't watch that show me to and what a major fail It seemed to be it just seemed to be drama and a disgrace and then all the women were mad at him He picked a lady and broke her heart. Yeah, do you find him to be a charismatic guy? I don't I didn't really know because I haven't spent enough time with him And like in person what do you even think people in person? They like and are they're like ah like we like him mm-hmm But I just don't know how many times we're gonna go with the like I don't know how many times as a society We're gonna say Harry jowsies ready for love. He's not I didn't say that the show itself was like entertaining. I think oh people love the show like like like the show was drama But but that's like what you're looking for but the whole point of the show was to get him mayor if it was just like But it's essentially the bachelor and it didn't work out like which is what usually happened on the bachelor, too, right? But Harry jowsies is not a good guy in relationships, so the whole show with him getting married It wasn't like he was playing it cool while he was on it He was like I want to be married Which is just bullshit because he wasn't he pulled this whole line with like get the wedding with the girl I saw this very briefly of like that he he Pulled out his dad's glasses During this during the vows because he had because he said he wanted his Wanted his dad to see his wife through the lens of his glasses That is Diabolical Diabolical his dead. I think so I actually my guess is yes, but I it's His dad's alive. Can I borrow your glasses? No, no, I yeah, that was a whole thing. I gotta be honest. You got me speechless I you didn't see this clip. No, I'm lazy viral. I ignored everything having to do with Harry jowsie. Would that move work on you? No, no Yeah, yes, he wore his late father's glasses while reading his vows to Amber I would just be like we just if I'm in that if I'm in that woman's position. Well, first of all I What about the same doesn't even make sense because they're getting married within how many weeks anyway But I would be like I don't know you well enough for you to be breaking out your dead dad's also glasses So we can see how beautiful she is But does his dad wear like they're real glasses like they're like they were his father spectacles. They were his father's glasses So they've had the same they had to have the same. No, he didn't wear it I don't know what they were like. Yeah, his prescription. He put them on mid-vows is what I'm gathering I didn't see and he was like hold on wait a second babe. I want to see you through my father's lens I want my dad to see That people thought maybe who's being better script because terrible we're laughing about something that is so sad I know father who pass which I feel like an asshole that I'm even talking about this, but Harry's an asshole Yeah, cuz now we can't do it again if you get some errors People thought that he was also wearing glasses like during the show and that people people were like feeding him lines You he can never use that during the reunion. He can't use that glasses move ever again Yeah, what was crazy? It's crazy. It's crazy move. If that is crazy. So yeah nuts Like people who go out of their way to like do things like that I feel like there could be a world where it's a nice guy and he does in a tasteful way that isn't cringe worthy. Yeah, in a world where it's not Harry does like new. He wasn't gonna stay married to this No, I know I know in a world where you get married and you find the love of your life and you you know Whatever in your day, you take your dad's glasses and he's gone and you do that. That's beautiful I you you have me you'd have be born out of the way by the way I probably wouldn't like call it out. I just like do it like I would just be like oh it's nice to wear And then privately you would tell your wife. These are my dad. Everyone. These are my yeah, yeah, so I'm sorry I'm sorry It was a lot it was had occupied my brain because the only thing I saw from the show and I'm So sorry to Harry's dad. Yeah, we're sitting here like laughing. I know it was a crazy thing because that is crazy thing That I yeah, I wish you told me that a different time. I mean it's better you told me during the show But I really have a lot of yeah, yeah, yeah, and I don't really know all the details was once again I didn't watch one second of the show and or they're like and I know the reunion was very juicy and people were really rate like Really talking about the drama that was all in the show But in my mind I'm just like how could I watch another show with this guy trying to claim that he wants to find a partner when he doesn't like I'm tired of that narrative for him on reality TV But Jackson what we're talking about We're down to were yes the Connors the Conners Conner levit and Adele Adele is the winner of dance with stars next pro She is a phenomenal dancer like holy cow. She is amazing Conner levit famously when he levit's husband That's it. That's it. Oh That felt mean. No way but it Here was We both like me telling like that's it. I didn't like it when it came out, but you know what I didn't feel but hey We talked about this cast and the rumors before. I this one was a little bit of a head scratcher for me. I'm still scratching But and I I love Whitney. I think Whitney is amazing but I don't know if like The the online banter of oh my god Conner should be on the next season just like infiltrated everybody's mind too much When it was happening when Whitney was on last season one things for sure Conner's gonna bring a lot of energy to the ballroom Yeah, I'm very into it. He's gonna bring magic tricks He's gonna do flips with his dick. It's gonna be like a whole thing and but you know what? This is the beauty of the show because you got Julia styles of John and Duan you got Conner levit on the same right and We're I think he's gonna be loads of fun. Yeah, so good for him. That's a true good for him Yeah, it really is because that's the only campaigning. I've seen work on this show And you know what I've been slightly insulted because I have gotten a few DMs and even messages from my own family being like I've seen some of the this cast and you'd I think you have a shot of getting No shows to be frank When I saw both Conners on this cast I said how did you not get the call now they weren't looking for female podcast host this time around Right, why don't we get some female podcast host that why don't they have us both on That'd be fun a little competition would it be fun. Oh, I'm just picturing right now Why don't you getting sent home and the other one standing there if we went in with good spirits like you know There's a chance one of us get sent home. No because because Both of you No, but one will get sent home before the other yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah I think I would get sent home first because no no, no, I think I do I think no I think I'd get sent home first because people know that this is like your life They'd be like we gotta send Frank The Richter with the dance for the stars podcast just talking so much shit about You would be able to dance
- You would. - I don't know. - I don't know. - I don't know. - And I do think if we were both on, everyone would be like, get re-out of here because she hasn't been begging to get on the show. You know? - No, I don't think so. - I don't think so. But the female podcast host should be a category they look at. - It should. - Sometimes. - And don't just write off us going both on the show. - You know who I also think would absolutely die to be on the show is Kelsey. Like, Kelsey Knight, who is a dancer. - And you know who should be on the show? Heather McMahon. 'Cause I saw all of her Instagram stories yesterday, talking about how the cast was revealed and she's not on it. And I was like, Heather McMahon needs to be on this fucking show. - She would be amazing on this show. - So, yes, get Heather McMahon on there and there's somebody else I wanted on there. - Didn't Kelsey, Joey's, Kelsey Anderson, say she wanted to be on it, too? - Well, it's like, here's the thing. When you get asked, "Hey, would you want to do "Dancing with the Stars?" I think anybody's gonna go, "Yeah." - Right. - So it's like, "Oh." - I don't think people, unless you're willy, like no, I don't think she came out and was like, "I want to do "Dancing with the Stars." - I think it was actually on the show. - What do you want to do, it's like, "Well, yeah, I would do it if I was asked." I do wonder why they just refuse to have Sheen on. Every time the cast is announced, I go, "How does Sheen feel about this?" You know what, it breaks my heart because I feel like, I'll be on the same path as Sheen, or just like, "God, I've always wanted to be on that show." It was just never worked. - You never know, you just never, ever know. - Yeah, yeah. There's been a lot of online chatter about how they actually don't like when people really campaign to be on the show. - I know, they say that, but I mean, Connor was doing magic tricks to get on, so I don't understand. - Yeah, I don't understand. - The last two are Taylor Hanson and Britz Stewart and Sierra Branden. - I'm obsessed with Sierra Branden. - I'm obsessed with Sierra Branden as a partnership. I am so freaking excited. I love that Branden was gifted and amazing partner in Sierra. I think that these two are going to be so fun. I think Sierra is going to be great. I just look at Sierra and I'm like, she's one of the most stunning human beings we've ever seen on this planet Earth. She's got a great personality. I imagine she could dance. I don't know if she could dance, but I imagine she can. - Yeah. - You know? - I think, yeah, and regardless like Branden's such a good partner, and I think they're going to do like a lot of really fun stuff right off the bat. That's going to make people really, this is going to make people really love them and root for them. And I really loved, I think this is a super fun pairing too. There's definitely like, I know that there's definitely like a conversation where they seem to give, like maybe a, I don't even know if it's, because we already kind of talked about this, but just like hierarchy of pros that some people may just have first dibs. And that may be the case. I don't know, but it's hard to argue with like someone who has been around for a really long time and has done and put so much of their life into the show that their opinion wouldn't be listened to if that makes sense, you know? Like sure, they could be like, hey, that's not going to work out this season, but you know, next season we'll try and make it work for you. I don't know, but I really do enjoy all of these pairings and like I said, I think this is just such a fun season where I expect everyone to be a pretty good dancer. Like I think like right off the bat, night one, we're going to have some pretty great dances that surprise everybody and it's going to make the season really hard. It's going to make the season really hard. I even, I saw people trying to give their top four and I have no clue because I just think there's some going to be so many amazing dancers. I totally agree, I'm already rooting so hard for a lot of people, you know, we have to root hard for our, hard for our guy Tyler. The we told him that we will be campaigning. That's a real friend, and that's a real friend out there on the ballroom and we're so excited for him and I love him and so I'm really rooting for Tyler here. Tate was cracking me up. She posted a video of them of her watching the GMA announcement and they announced Tyler. They were playing all these old clips from him on the bachelorette. And he's like kissing Hannah Brown and she's like, oh, well, I mean, he's been on a lot of other shows. These are the clips that they had to make and then they made up for it though because then they posted a sick video of Tyler and Tate and Tate looked awesome and Tyler was like, she's a star, which she is. I thought, oh, GMA didn't want to contact us about getting the footage of them dancing at our live show. Oh, right. Exactly. That could have been used. No, what? With a shirt off and everything? They, he doesn't have to play the background. Pass that along. I feel like Guillermo might have the chops though. I think Guillermo is going to be so entertaining. Guillermo is going to be so entertaining 100 like, oh, right away. Just on paper or you know, you try to book by its cover like you might be like, oh, this is going to be another. I think he's no, I think he's going to be great. He's going to be great. It's just going to be how well Whitney could choreograph Danny DeVito. Yeah, that. Yeah. Yeah. She is taller than him. Exactly. And for ballroom, that could be a little tricky just in terms of traditional ballroom. Exactly. I think he's going to have a lot of energy. He's going to have so much energy and be able to move in group and it's going to be a lot of fun. And he's going to get everybody in the ballroom up on their feet. You know, Jimmy Kimmel is definitely going to be campaigning for him. Yeah. As he should. If you were on, we'd be campaigning for you. What do you? Of course. Yeah. Be your number one fans, bro. And he's already the cast favorite. Like, already everybody in the cast is posting on social like how much they love Guillermo so. I would love to get a hug from him. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Anyways. Stop it. Stop it. That's the cast. That's the cast. Moving on, I mean, we just talked about Harry Zhaozi and the married Zhaozi situation so we might as well break up Alex Earl and Alex Cooper. Alex Earl took a shot at Alex Cooper on the Earl Meets World carpet premiere. Yeah. She said, you know, she was asked about addressing the situation. She said, I'm happy that I said my peace and whatever, but I'm happier just to like on the premiere and have the show out there. And you know, hers are getting canceled. So it is what it is. Yeah. Yeah. Whoo. Shots fired. So Love Overboard did get canceled. It did. So she did take a shot there, which felt refreshing to feel some drama on a red carpet. It felt like there's some life to the feud. But at the same time, I'm like, are we giving life to the feud? I'm just because, you know, the show is coming out. Like what a great line to say to premiere to get people really excited about the show. Because she is allegedly addressing it on the show. So what a way to like and that conversation up again, remind everyone that they don't like each other. Right. So that it makes more people want to go watch Earl Meets World. Is the thing about this statement now, though, is that Alex Earl is going to have to keep up this show for multiple seasons. Because if she does not keep up this show for multiple seasons, this quote, we'll get turn around right back to her face. And as you don't want to end up there, you don't want to end up there. So this show has got to go. No, but multiple seasons. I think that, I think there's going to be a lot of eyeballs watching this show. I do. I do too, but I could see a world where because of the eyeballs it gets, maybe they, like Alex Earl goes, I don't want to do reality TV anymore. She's got to lock in for at least two more seasons because you can't have this quote come back in your face. No, but I was shocked like I watched go, but I went, oh, I thought, oh, my God, it was just so. And of course, like I just mentioned, the timing is all on purpose because she's had so many opportunities to say something and hasn't. And like so many interviews where she's word salad talked around it hasn't said anything. And then like has this opportunity and takes takes that shot. So it was there. I'm sure she was a little bit, a little bit pre-planned. I also am imagining them like in the car on the way to the premiere and they're on their phone. And they're like, you guys see this news? Oh, yeah. Love overboard. Cancer. The whole fam's hyped. Yeah. Yeah. It's all probably rooting for the demise of Unwell. And that's a personal vendetta. It's like people can certainly root for everything that that Unwell has been doing. And they got a new, I didn't, I didn't realize they did a whole summer games show too. That whole cast just just came out. And now it's like the Earl family as a whole definitely is not rooting for Unwell. So speaking of Alex Cooper, there was a clip that was going viral on TikTok. Tay Lawtner was on Colorado. Who we love. She is such a sweetheart. The Lawtners are the sweetest. Yeah. They're nicest. And this tracks with Andy and the nice clip is so fucking funny because Tay is talking about she's pregnant. She talks about how she snapped at Taylor Lawtner. And you expect it to be like some grand story about how she like freaked out on him. And it's just simply that she went out of the car to grab the food. She was coming back to the car. The door was locked and Taylor said to her, you're going to need to grab utensils. And she said, I did. I did. And that was the end of the story. And that was the snap. And my god, I'm worried that she's abusive at home with the way that she responded. No, I'm kidding. It was, it was genuinely, I'm watching the clip and going. That was the snap. And it just truly, it goes to show how fucking nice these two are. And they probably communicate so well. Like I just imagined them like really sitting down and like talking through their feelings at all times. And never once are they like sitting on the couch and silence just like fuming and holding in their feelings because something happened that they're just so pissed about. And they're just waiting to like, to like finally say something or be like, and I thought that, and the video ends and you're like, that was it, that was it, that was it. I'm like, damn, I may need to go to classes, yeah, I'm on the opposite end of the story.
that we're like, I communicate so thoroughly so much, but it's not in a way that's like, you know, you're saying like sitting there and you're fuming silently. It's like, yeah. - But you're gonna hear about how I hear it. - You're like, in that moment. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - And maybe I gotta take a step back. (laughing) But this story, all the comments were cracking me up. They were like, wow, I gotta take a look in the mirror. (laughing) That's when we consider snapping. - You're like, damn, we have different definitions - That's different, that's the California definition of snapping. The New York definition of snapping. - Way different. - Way different. But it's just, and that's why I was like, damn, I applaud these two, because if that's snapping, then they really do have a beautiful relationship. Really calm, very, very calm. But I also thought to myself, oh, because it was the response. She says that Taylor responded being like, "Well, I'm just gonna be your show for the rest of the year. We're not gonna talk." - We're not gonna talk. - I said, okay. - He wasn't able to handle a little, I did. - Yeah, yeah, I don't know. I don't know. - Yeah. (laughing) - It shows that that was a moment that they don't normally have. - Yeah. - And I suppose that's a good way to handle it. We'll talk about this when we get home, honey. (laughing) - Or is it unhealthy? - Is it borderline unhealthy? (laughing) - I don't know. I don't know. It seems to work just fine for them. - It's a very funny clip. It's all jokes aside, very, very funny. Moving on, influencers at the US Open. - It's been a disaster, it's gone mega viral. - Oh, shit. - There's just has to be a line. And I know that the US Open has become such a spectacle and it's a real who's who. - Yes, the influencer. - It's a real who's who. You get invited, the brands have all the boxes, you wanna be seen, you got posting requirements. And that's what's crazy, it's like from one side of it, it's like so many influencers are invited to the US Open and have content that they must film. Like they have things that they must film all they are there for the brand that is hosting them. On the other side of that, there is also people that are just there and posting that they're there. They bought their own ticket, they're there. They're just, they wanna show that they're there. But the posing with the full lights on the phone, with the attachments, with the ring lights, with this, that, and the other thing. Wall players are playing, not during breaks, not in between matches. Like wall and matches actually happening is crazy. - It's insane, I actually don't think ring lights or any light attachments should be allowed in the vicinity at all. - Yeah. - Not during a break, not during. And you know, I've gone to the US Open with a brand and I've had to film things before. I know, disgusting, but this was years ago. And it was great, it was very fun. And it was awesome to be invited and be there. But there wasn't, that wasn't happening. This was a couple of years ago. Like I don't remember seeing people taking out ring lights and doing dances in the middle of the game. Like that. - It's also just the ones, one of the ones sports you can't. - Right, it's like the most cool light sport out there. - Like that would be annoying if you were at a baseball game but it's like, all right, whatever. - Right, it's 'cause it's very rowdy and football game, very rowdy. - And those games, and those games, the stage is way grander. There's just way more people. It's like you're not, if you're up in the, if you're up in the bleachers at a baseball game, like you're not affecting, no, what's happening on the field. But when you're at a test match like this, it's a pretty small arena. And the players can see everything. - They can and it is dead silent. You can hear a pin drop there in the stadium. So this is just so disrespectful. - On top of that, have you seen now influencers using light reflectors to take pictures and videos? - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - One like they do in the movies? - Yeah, no, no, no. - We have seen that people see them like on vacation. That is crossing a line. That is absolutely, those look pretty big to travel with. - It just seems so unnecessary to be like, babe, don't forget my light reflector for when we're on our vacation. I need you to take all these pictures of me. It's the most-- - I'm the picture of Marty holding up. - Oh, that would be insane. I would never do that. - That is to take my picture. And however the picture comes out, that's how it comes out. - That's what happens. That's how we do it. I don't even own a light. I should. I probably should own a light. - There's been multiple occasions where we've been somewhere and we're like, we should have brought a light. - I don't own one of those lights with a phone. I should get one. - It really is like when people don't, they're like, I don't wanna see how the McDonald's food is made. - Yeah, it's just like, I think it was open. - It's just like incredibly unnecessary. - But why are people bringing light? We are gone too far. You need the picture perfect. Your pictures were beautiful before. You don't need a light reflector to travel with now. - What? - I know. I don't know. I don't know. I think it's like a very interesting situation where these women are just looking at and it's their job, but they're looking at pictures of themselves all day. They're posting pictures, they're posting content, they're posting videos where they're just looking at themselves all day. And I think the minor little details that a regular eye wouldn't pick up is like, I wouldn't necessarily notice a difference, but I think you go a little crazy. - That's true. - Where you're looking at it and you're like, wow, this picture's so, quality wise, that picture's so much better. I need to bring it because that looks so much better than when I posted the other day. But I don't really think anybody, I haven't seen someone that's used one and I've thought, whoa, she definitely remembered the light reflector for this one. - No, I'm absolutely with it. I haven't noticed that much of a difference in the pictures and why it's necessary. And I think my point that I'm trying to get a cross when maybe it's coming across horses that like you are all beautiful women and you do not need this light reflector to travel with because you look gorgeous, no matter what picture is taken but you're absolutely correct that they're looking at pictures themselves all day long and are seeing details that we're not seeing. - And they want to see it's quality. - And they do have the argument that they go, it is my job, which is their job and that is fair and that's their business. But they were doing great before the light reflector so I don't know if it's necessary. - Yeah, yeah. And it's just like, you just kind of respect your surroundings. You gotta be aware of your surroundings. You gotta respect your surroundings. Yes, you may have deliverables that you need to collect while you're out the US open. You wait till the match isn't going on. You're not asking for someone to take your picture while the players are playing behind you and you have the light on the phone and everything and you're just like, you're taking it. That's where you have to, like I said, you just gotta respect where you are and have a little bit of understanding of where you are. Like you need to be aware of where you are. It's like, if you go to the US open you're like, oh, I don't care. I don't know what to do. Like I don't give a shit about tennis. I don't care about the, like I just want to be here because it's cool to be here. But I don't know any of the rules. I don't know what's cool or not cool. Like that's lame. Like you need to be somewhat educated on the place where you are going and know like what is cool. - Absolutely, totally agree with you. And just because you don't find it cool and you don't love it doesn't mean you shouldn't respect it because there are a ton of people who take it very seriously as their livelihoods and who respect the game and what's going on. On top of that, I think a lot of times it comes down to like, you need to surround yourself with people who are normal people and a lot of times now influencers, all of their friends are influencers and you just get stuck in this bubble of like, they think it's normal to be doing all of that because they're not, they don't have anybody telling them, sit the fuck down when I'm doing that right now. You know? - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - If one of my friends showed me a match when everybody in the box was doing it all together, it's like no one in the box was like, hey, maybe don't do this right now. - First of all, we would do it to each other. We know how to act as human beings. But also if one of our friends saw us doing that, they would look us and go, sit the fuck down, what are you guys doing? You know, like you need people to keep you in check and that's not happening. - I know, I'm trying to see if I can. - I'm just imagining one of my friends seeing me do this and literally picturing my friend Jesse being like, what the fuck are you doing? - Yeah, yeah. - Group of, so like, I'm like, this is where it was, like there's just a way up. - No, yeah, no, I know. - Like the fornative, it's like, - I know what I'm talking about. - It's like when it's everybody in the box. - Right, there's nobody around. - No one's saying, maybe don't do this right now. - Do this right now. - So. - Which is not good. You need someone to have some awareness. - Yeah. - In the group. - Yeah, for sure. - For sure. - So not good. Hopefully people clean it up, going forward. - Yeah, it just doesn't need to, like, have so much fun at the US Open. It's such a fun event. You, there's so many opportunities. You get amazing content. It doesn't have to be in the middle of the match. - Absolutely. - All right. - Yeah, so no, so when you go to the US Open, make sure you are very polite. - I can't afford to go because all these influencers are up in the prices. (laughing) - I would love nothing more than a honeydews. We actually-- - It is actually, it's really-- - It's so insane to get tickets, it's so expensive. - White horse tavern last weekend, and they had that on the menu. I didn't realize until after I ordered my other drink. But I was like, damn. - I think people are like recreating the arms. - They are, yeah, yeah. - It is so good. I only went once, one time. - Yeah, I've only been once as well, yeah. - What do you guys think about that?
joke of it. Do you watch that? Yeah, I watch it last night. No, no, but he when he lost in the first round, it was Monday night. No, it was Sunday night crying during the last camp. He was legit crying towards the end of the season. He was hurt as like he was in a lot of pain. And then I think like he was a lot of pain, pain, he was losing. And then he won, he won a point. And the whole arena like stood up. It was clapping for him. And I think he had like the emotions came flooding. I think it was like like the crowd is is trying to give me the love. But I think his body was in shambles. It looked like everything hurt. He was throwing up. He was like it was I think he was sick. I think he was hurt. I think there was a lot going on. And I think like the emotions just overtook him, which is is hard because they do say in tennis, especially that like once the end comes, it comes really fast. It's like you can be really competitive for so long. And then all of a sudden, I just saw an interview where someone asked Federer like, Oh, would you think about doing what Serena's doing? Like coming back and like he's like, no, absolutely. My body would like. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's fair. All right. That wraps up the topics. When we are here with two very special guests, we are joined by Steve's on and Glenn Powell here to talk about season two of Chad Powers. We are so excited to have you guys. You're our first guests in our new studio. So we feel honored that you're breaking it in. We're feeling good about it. Honored. Bring it. Yeah. We're very excited. Yeah. We have some hard hitting questions for you. Well, look, this is Steve's first time on Chicks in the office. This is now your third time on Chicks. Yes. I look here. Yeah. The first time was 2018. And we tried to find a picture. Couldn't find any. We did find a video. And I got to be honest. We're all looking a lot better. Looking back on these videos, I'm just really happy for all of us. Success has been great for the, you know, the glam up, the glam up, you know, this was the beginning. Do you feel that way? I don't know. I was just watching a clip from Chad Powers when we were on Good Morning, America. I couldn't help it. I looked so pale. I didn't want the clip. I was just fixated. Well, you guys look pale at all. You know what they do? You're and you do have very blue eyes, but watching the show, like you're everybody's eyes are blue. Pop. Yeah. So it might be a little pale, but the blue eyes are popping. I feel like I relate to Steve so much. I'm talking about how he just gets fixated on what he looked like. Before you guys came in here, we spent a half hour looking at this monitor. And I was like, I look too pale. I'm very tan. We need to, we were fixing the saturation. We shut it off so you wouldn't have to deal with that. Oh, yeah, that's nice. Or you could put a show on. Yeah, we can watch that power season too. We did watch the entire season. Yeah, you already watched it. Yeah, you can fly through it pretty. It's really good. It's a great bitch. It's really good. It's so good. It is so fucking funny. Like genuinely laugh out, loud funny. I love that you guys are not afraid to go there in this show. I feel like we're kind of missing that humor. And I'm laughing out loud the entire time. We were just talking about that. We're talking about like how it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, there's really, there's no comps. It's really singular. The show. It's crazy. Yeah. Yeah. It's hysterical, silly, stupid, all those things, but it, but it knows it's all those things. And that's why it's great. Yes. And yet it's really, it's, there's some heavy stuff going on too. Right. And even with that, you know, you keep the humor throughout the whole thing, the silliness of all of it, but there is a moment. I don't want to spoil too much where coach is trying to get to know his quarterback a little bit more. And you see, you know, Russ come through Chad. And I loved how after Chad talked about his mom dying and what that meant. There wasn't a stupid line after. Like we can't, you guys kind of let that sit. And I thought that was really nice because I was like, Oh, what's Chad going to say? And it was nothing. And I love that. Oh, hell yeah. Phoenix. Yeah. Yeah. It's tasty. Taste. I was out of Martini. Yeah. But even, even sometimes when there's something heavy going on, I remember what made me last hard when I won't give it away. But when Jerry later on, yeah. And, and you, you kind of find out where he is or you think you know it and you're all you say is like, don't get any ticks. But it was a great comment. Yeah. You know what I mean? Yeah. It always reminds the audience that this is a crazy comedy. Yes. Even if you're about to cry. Absolutely. And also, also, I think the thing that we always talked about is that like I'm just really proud of like the whole ensemble of actors that they can pull off like a joke simultaneously with drama. Like I don't know any other cast that can do it. And so you watch everybody in the show. And it's like it can like make you laugh and cry in the same scene. Absolutely. And a huge shout out to Michael Waldron, who is just a fantastic creator. Great guy. Just so good. Yeah. We've been talking about him. We have to hype him up. He deserves. And also, Michael's one of those guys that's just a, you know, he's he's one of our great friends. But he's one of those guys that when we first broke this show and like the tone and what it was, you know, Michael really, he cares about this show more than anyone. I mean, he just really gives a shit in a way that's like you rarely see anybody to convince people to let us make the show is very, very tough. But like Michael has like doubled down and triple down. And it's just you need that level of like buy-in by your partners to make something like this work. It's really important in a show like this. You can get complacent. You can get tired. Everybody does, especially as an actor or whatever. And it's so important to have that leader, that those people that always remind you of remember where we're at. Remember who you are. Remember what the show is. And it's really important. Otherwise, it can go astray easily. And you can start winking. And this show is really unique because because the audience is ahead of you, which is, which is really interesting. Yeah. Yeah. So it makes you play things totally different, right? Yeah. It does. It's such, it is so funny. And I will say I think the second season just got fun here because it seemed that there were sort of bigger roles. Like the first thing you had to introduce Russ, you had to introduce Chad. But now everybody else gets to be such a such a player. Yeah. Like Trisha's character is unbelievable. That's so good. Oh my god. Incredible. Like he's tackling. I'm bent over Kathleen. So good. I made Jerry. Jerry. I mean, well, dude, Colton, you know what's funny is we saw what he did on season one. And we were like, I think this is our big bad, you know, and then he just kills it. He kills it. It's so good. So good. And it was really cool. It's everybody. Like, and a little just because not, you know, not to brag, but we were on set towards the end of the season. So as fans of the show, we kind of were putting the pieces together. Like Michael was like, look, you know, this is what's happened so far. And here it is. So getting to watch it and see everything. And then see what you guys were doing was so cool. Like the build up of Jerry because we watched him do like that walk in the mass down the concourse. So good. And then like seeing how he got there. Yeah. Was so good. Very joker-esque, which I love. Yeah, yeah. He lost his mind. It was so good. And see, we were there for, you know, you know, a big pump up speech. Yeah, which that was the night of the night. Yeah. Sitting behind the scenes for that. Cheers. Yeah.
we need him to come in and give us a pump-up speech in this studio, which you're sitting here right now. So if at any point you feel like you want to amp us up, you didn't say you got 10 hours of sleep. You're well rested. Yeah. You're right. Ten. I know. It was cool because Michael was also like, that's it. That's watching a great guy do his job. And then he was like, that's all we need, we're like, this is so cool. Well, the other thing about Zon is that you literally, the levels that you have in this season, like one of the hardest things for they has to play a guy who's like recovering from a heart attack who's fragile, who basically is banned from the thing he loves. So there's like this, like just like aching, like heartbreak and fragility. But he's also like seat, contestant national championship for the team he loves the most. So there's all these different layers to it. And you're just genuinely like convincing as a football coach, like an SEC top tier football coach. It's a very hard thing to pull off. And you just smoke it. But yeah, that speech was, that was, that was bad ass. That was far enough. That was, that's, you know, check the box. Like if the things that you get to do as an actor, right, I want to be a cowboy, I want to be a war flick. I want to, you know, I want to, I want to, I want to be a coach and give an inspiring speech and then run out on the field. Yeah. I get to check that box. Yeah. Even if it's something that's not good, right, it's just an okay movie or whatever. It's still fun. You get to ride horse or whatever. But then to be in something where you go, wow, this is really good. It's, it's double, you know, like the pleasure. What was your first impression of working with Glenn? Well, Glenn, most of the time that I work with Glenn, he doesn't look like Glenn, which is really unique. Yeah. Like when we're shooting in a season, I see this face kind of rare, which is early in the morning and then later on, yeah, Glenn in his position as an actor in his career to do this part, which is a big swing, man. It's a big swing. And if you don't hit the ball, yeah, I mean, and Glenn hits the ball over and over and over again. And it's really, I think sometimes it's so good that you forget how, how incredible and how intricate playing a part like that is. And that's, it's maybe even, you don't even think about it. It's just you take it for granted, you know. How many versions of Chad were there before you landed on this version of version of like the voice, like did you test out a bunch of different ones like the, I'll show you some horrific looking faces. Yeah. You test it out of bunch of different faces. There's one that just looks like I look like Stalin, just like it's like what? There was probably, there's probably like five masks that I like kind of took out in the world to just like kind of feel out. The voice didn't arrive till right before the table read and no one had heard the voice including Walden. So were you just at home? I didn't know that. Walden had not heard the voice. I was, I was, I was, can I tell you right before we started what, what, what I before I said my line on the page and I was sitting there going, all right, here we go. I remember just being like, oh, I remember that read through and I was just like, I was so nervous because I hadn't done it for anybody. What did you do it like in the mirror at home in the shower? Like did just come to you right back to that, it came out, what, what I had gone for is we were only reading the pilot and I was going, okay, part of the pilot is that he hasn't figured it out yet. And so I was like, okay, at the worst, I'll write it off as a character choice. I'm just screwing around. Right. You're like, I really want to be in the moment when and figuring it out. But I was, yeah, I was kind of playing around with it. I had, I had taken like different accents from different regions and kind of tried to like go to that like West Virginia sort of like Appalachian region and just going to go, okay, what was the funniest thing that can be like where the cadence of it is inherently funny. And but I'd never put it all together until that moment. Was it almost to struggle though because I find it like even when you do that off the cuff where if a voice sometimes comes out of you that you're like, I don't know if I'm going to be able to replicate that. Yeah. Yeah. I'm like, am I going to have to do like how am I going to make sure I sound the same? Why sound? Yeah. I have voice notes on my phone of things where I'm like, oh, I think that's it. And I'm just like, oh, we play it. Yeah. Yeah, just a weird one. Is it weird when you go home and you start talking in your regular voice? It was weird being on set with you. I imagine you know, you're doing this every day when we visited you. You picked us up. You looked like Len. Then an hour later, you were chatted the entire time. But then we were just sitting talking to you as Len, but you just like Chad, I kind of forgot what you looked like when you walked in the studio. Like, wait, okay, this is actually Glen. You going home like, testing, okay, I could speak normally. I forget what my face looks like. Yeah. When I'm on set, I'm not like a method actor, I mean, obviously like I'm about like, if I talked like Chad, that would be the weirdest experience for everybody around me. Yeah. Right. For us, you're like, I'm Chad. Yeah. That would be weird. That would be a weird guy. Yeah. How do you feel about method acting when people go down that path? I don't. I mean, you've worked with everyone. Right. You've worked with some crazy method acting. Yeah, but method, not to the extent of like, Dental Day Lewis where he's Lincoln. Right. The whole time. Right. Like, I've never really experienced that, but I think like method to me, it's like, it depends on the gig. And it depends on how far you go into it. Like, have I stumbled into that world? Yeah, sure. You know, I'm playing at POW, you know, I'm losing a bunch of weight and I have to like kind of really understand it on a different level. Like, then yeah, keep me in the chains all day, you know, it helps, right? But there's a difference between being in the trailer, I can't work with a couple of people. I just work a different way, but it would be like, hey, hey, nice to meet you and be like, oh, they're the character and he's like, oh, I guess we're not going to hang out. I guess. I guess. This is where it's going to be. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm going to be right. I'm going to hang out. At the end of the day, no beers. Yeah, cool. Right thing, but we can have a working relationship. Fun. Did I ever tell you what I did on right along to for my audition for right along to hit movie by the way? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I, I basically walked in, I was playing the baddest drug dealer in Atlanta, it was playing it's got him Troy, which obviously if you, anybody knows me, that is not a layup. I'm not the, I'm not the exact person to do. So I came in there. I had like a shaved head. I was like, I got my friend who was a makeup artist, just tat me up from just like neck like the whole thing. I had a wife being around and so I was like, okay, I went in there and I was like super intense with everybody and like just went in there, just being like, I'm going to kill everyone. I got cast. All right. I get down to Atlanta and I get into the makeup trailer and I'm now I'm in like a polo in jeans and just like, yeah, Glenn and they go, so who are you and I go, oh, I'm, I'm Glenn. I'm playing Troy. They're like, I'm so what way? I'm so which guy that are like and all of a sudden ice cube in the director come in and they go, they go, oh, who are you and I was like, I'm glad I'm playing Troy. They're like, I thought you were like straight off the street, dude, what happened? I was like, makeup. He's like, oh, no. That's the thing. They were so bummed out. Like they were so great. They're like those tattoos were not free, but on the other side of that, you're a great actor. Exactly. You know, you showed up. I wouldn't need to play the part if I had to done that. Exactly. But if I were just that guy all the time on set, no, it would be a problem. It would be a problem. Yeah, it would have to be lift. Like I like to have fun. Yeah. Yeah. You're a good vibe. Yeah. When you shoot, it's like, I just want a good fun day. That's a, that's a taxing way to go. I mean, look, there's some roles that maybe require, require it, but I, you can turn it on. Like, by the way, there's that scene in, is it three at the airport? I think it is. You were able to turn that on where he's having the breakdown. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And then you just turn that shit on. It was unbelievable. But that's like the mark of like an actor who's like, you actually want to, you root on to kill it on screen and then actually want to hang out with that. Exactly. I feel like, I mean, you were in the first season of the White Lotus. Yeah. And now you hear, now that the seasons have gone on, more behind the scenes stories of people just method acting the, the White Lotus and who's hanging out with who. Yeah. I feel like we've heard it with like Walden Goggins and stuff like that. Right. But it must have been different season one, because they didn't know where that show was headed. Yeah. And also you got to remember it was COVID. Yeah. So we were all together. It was a very unique situation. Right. The four seasons was closed. So it was our set. So the crew, when they wrapped it, everybody went to the barn, got like a beer and a shot and because no one was driving. Yeah. Yeah. It's all the key. It was amazing. It was like, it was literally like being at film camp. Yeah. And so we all hung out. I mean, our trailers were our rooms. And we'd have our costumes delivered to our rooms and then they'd call your room and go like, hey, come on down. And at the end of the day, while people are banging pots and pans in New York, we were floating in the ocean, marching the green flash like, do you see it? There it is. You know, it was, it wasn't safe. Yeah. Well, we were sucking our apartments over here. Yeah. I know. I'm at 6 p.m. Every night. Yeah. And while we were floating, we were just like, yeah. Don't tell anybody. Yeah. Right. And then the actors can go out of this. Oh, the new haters, man. And we did. We kept it really. Yeah. But it was bliss. Yeah. Yeah. Did you have any idea how successful that show would be?
Did you think you were maybe doing multiple seasons of that show? I knew that they were really excited about it when we were shooting, and they were like, "Oh, they really liked us." And then, of course, being dumb actors, we were like, "How did we do this against, like, not-." You're not a part of this. They're like, "No, I don't think I'll be back." Well, maybe one of us. Yeah. Who's it going to be? Yeah, exactly. It'll be Fred. Yeah, right. Exactly. Yeah, no, being in a water cooler show is very, very rare, and so, of course, you're never like, "This is it. This is the one that everyone's going to talk about." But when I did see, then, when Mike sent them to us, I watched it like it wasn't in it. I was like, "Oh, my God. This is amazing." Yeah. So. Yeah. Glenn, do you remember, like, the first project of Steve's that you watched? I mean, "Saving Silverman" is one of my all-time favorite movies. I mean, Steve is like an iconic actor. Like, you've literally been a part of some of my favorite movies of all time. But I just remember "Saving Silverman" was, in particular, one that, like, my buddies and I watched over and over and over. Our producer is going to kill us if we don't bring up Daddy Daycare. He's been. Incredible. Wow. What a weird way to threaten somebody. He's going to kill us if he don't bring it up. That's kind of how we treat each other around here. Yeah, yeah. Daddy Daycare, I'm going to kill you. Yeah. Yeah. Daddy Daycare. Yeah, we jumped to violence pretty quick. Sorry. That really is such a big one. How long are you guys down? How long were you on set for in Atlanta? It's pretty quick, right? The second season was two months. The first season was like nine weeks, ten weeks, because we had more like dinners and prep kind of thing. Yeah, we had a kind of, I mean, yeah, Walter and I kind of had to figure out a lot of stuff. Like on the production side. Yeah, yeah. Football was kind of harder to figure out on the first one. Right. We had dialed in on this one. But I couldn't believe it. I mean, we shot fast. Mm-hmm. It's fast. We know that you have a makeup routine. You have to go through to get a chat. Ready? Do you have a routine? Do you put any makeup on? Like, do they powder you at all? What happened? No, you don't. Yeah, I sit in the chair for a minute. Yeah. When I tell you a minute, he is-- Well, you want to be tan. No, I come in. I give. Oh, love. Yeah. It's really easy. He's more there for the chats. Mm-hmm. Right, right, right. You're a little gatherer. Yes, he's a brisket. Yeah, yeah. I got some cute-- I got some cute Steven brisket photos. Yeah. Also, make the worst, like the best gossip, the best talk going on. Yeah, it is. Make-up trailers traditionally is the safe place. It's the place that you go bitch. It's the same. The place where we, you know, we sit around and, you know-- They hold all the secrets. Oh, yeah. They do. They do. That's where you're like-- I mean, I used to eat lunch, depending on the movie. Like, you know, just love to make up trailer. And this one's particularly good because everybody's like a genuinely nice person. Sometimes it's the most talk. Yeah. Sometimes you avoid that trailer at all costs. Oh, totally. Yeah. It's an important trailer. It is. Did you guys do? It's funny because it's like the way that-- the vibe that you all have on set is that you really are, like, all at school together. Yeah. That's really how it feels. When you all met, like, where you do in bonding things, we've got taking any trips together, not trips, but, like, you know, go to dinner or any of those things. It feels like you all have great chemistry. So season one, we would-- it was during college football season. So, like, every weekend, we, like, did together for college football. Yeah, we went to watch games, or we went to the Braves game. Yeah. That was fun. We did some stuff. Yeah. But this one was, like, obviously, was, like, January February. So we watched the Super Bowl. Yeah. And, like, hung out a little bit. Yeah, we watched the-- That was the NCAA football championship. Yeah. It was when we were-- Oh, that's right. Yeah. The NCAA and Miami. Yeah. I want to go back to something Steve said earlier on, when you talked about Glenn and the career that he's at right now. And the Steve's, you're at as an actor. And he's saying, you know, you take a big swing. You can't miss. Yeah. What does it feel like hearing something like that from Steve, who's such an established actor? And you are-- Yeah. And you are-- And just, like, at an incredible point at your career to hear that. No, I mean, you know what's really funny is it's one thing that-- I always admire when actors don't do the thing that you just know they're going to do next. Like, you're just like, oh, you're having fun. And this is a show that, for me, I grew up on sports moves. We literally just talked about, like, little giants a second ago. We were just, like, talking about all the inspirational sports moves that I grew up with. And, like, sort of, the genre of things. Like, there's a lot of superhero stuff within Chad Powers as well that, like, I don't want to play a superhero, but I'm like, you get all those genre elements within the show. And you get, kind of, like, a safties thriller element within it. And you get, you know, the inspirational underdog stuff. And you get rom-com elements. And, like, when you get to create a show with your friend, which I did, and I got to, like, tailor-make-something that I would want to watch. It's, like, a freaking amazing experience. And I'm getting to do it with, like, my friends, which is amazing. Like, people like Zon that I've, like, respected my whole life. I'm having, like, the best time of my life making this show. And you get to do all the other things. And, like, for me, a big swing like this. If you're not, like, willing to, like, put it out there, like, I don't know why you do the job. You got to feel a little scared. Yeah, right. You got to feel a little dangerous. And I think that, even in the first episode of this season, we get you the big freak out that Chad has. I personally just loved watching you as an actor do that. Because, like, you said, it's unexpected. You know, you do all these amazing movies. You know, you're a movie star. But when you see you have fun and be a little weird, it's really fun to watch. I think what I've also realized in this phase of, like, my career, it's so easy for people to put you in boring roles. Do you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. Like, oh, you have to play, like, the straight man, like, who's doing this and, like, you have to be, like, brooding, whatever. Yeah. A lot interesting, yeah. You want to put on a mask and tell some dumb jokes. Yeah. Right. Like, but then when you, you, you, you fulfill those brooding moments just up in this, they pop. Yeah. And they're much better at total. Like, when you get pissed off as, as Glenn, it makes me laugh. And it's, and it, but it's real. Yeah. And you're like, that's a man. You know, when you're really, it's, I think it's really funny. Yeah. But the, but the, but the opportunity with this show is that I also find that I'm never bored on the page. Like, we never, like, every single scene, everybody cares about what we're doing. Like, there's a joy in doing it with nice people, but people that actually care. And there's something so fun about, like, getting the most out of every day with a bunch of people who are able to do it. Yeah. And pull off the laughs, pull off the drama, pull off the romance, pull off the thrilling elements. And like, everybody just, it's like a really, it's a championship winning team. It's like it, but everybody's having a great time. And I'm having the best time when you're, when you know you're making something that I'm like, I love the show. And I'd wash it. Yeah. I think even the physical comedy too. Yeah. Like, there's a part where, where Ricky's like, this fucking freak show. And like, even when she does with her hands, I'm like, that is so good. And it seems like a choice in that moment. And it's so good. She has great moments that make me. When she comes into the room and laughs. I'm going crazy. You know what I came from? No. So literally, because Perry has this, this sort of like, she's so high energy. Like energy, like, she comes across as like, like, very cool. But when she kind of gets like animated, she becomes Jim Carrey. Like she does. She like becomes like, Jim Carrey. Yeah. And we're like, turn that up. And so in that scene, we just kept going, Jim, like, more Jim, more Jim, more Jim. And she just, like, in this season, you see her unwind. Yeah. Like, oh, she's so good. And she's so good in this season. She's so good. And she is like such a grounding part of the show to him. Yeah. Like the one, there has to be someone that needs to be like, this is all fucking crazy. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Which is really good. Every season has ended on like a crazy cliffhanger where you're like, oh my god. Because you want there to be more episodes. And you're thinking, when you guys started, was there a vision? Like, did you have Chad's story fully formed in your mind? Or like, how many seasons you wanted to do? Or is you just kind of go with going? There was always sort of a three-act structure to the story. That's kind of what I figured. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. In terms of, you know, one of the things that when we pitch it, I basically said, you know, this is not a story that you want to drag out. It's not like you go back for another season. Yeah. Or like another football season. Right. Because you can't pull this off for that. That's what I like too. It's like, I kind of, and you forget. And then I'm like, wait, this is all still the same season. Yeah, it's all the same. It's all the same. We're just looking for a show, but there's a season of football is happening. Right. And then it's in real time. No, it's in real time. Yeah, it's like a half hour show is a half hour of real time. Yeah. That's what you would have to do. I mean, yeah. It can't go anywhere. Yeah. So the thing is, is that you don't want to do one of those bions. Like, my big pet peeve with TV is when somebody just, like, it's the reason I didn't watch a lot of TV. I like to, like, I loved breaking back. So I felt like there was, I, when you get to the end of, like, was a six, seven up, six, seven seasons, you get to the end. You're like, okay, there was intention. They stuck the landing and all that stuff. And you're like, that felt good. Yeah. I never wanted Chad to, like, just drag out and just see how long we can pull this thing off. We go, okay, there was intention in the three acts structure. So it's one football season. Yeah. I think that makes sense. And I feel like with, with a show like this is like, you know, you only have so much room to tell. Yeah. Totally. And the constraints are, is good. I mean, we talked about this too, because I, I, I, I think, no, I've.
I was like, I wish we had like eight episodes, which I still think would be nice just because we like working and hanging out, but it also the structure of six forces us to tell the story in a different way. - Yeah, it's true. - So you cut out, if you're forced to, then you cut out fat. You cut out these that don't necessarily need to be there. - Yeah, and I feel like with a show like this, concise, you have the point, you stick the landing, it could be recommended for years to come. Like years down the line, you tell people you gotta watch chat powers. - Yeah, this amount of seasons, you'll fly through it, you'll love it. - Yeah, and you'll watch it in three nights. - You're right, you know, you'll watch it. - Or a day, yeah, or a day, exactly. - We watched all six episodes in a day. - One evening, you know, you just really do the whole thing. 'Cause you wanna know everything that happens. So in which makes it so fun. I know we're getting the wrap up. - We're getting the wrap up. - So we're gonna thank you guys so much for coming in. - Yes, thank you so much. - Thank you so much. We love this whole season. - Well, you can stream it online, online, on your TV, on Lulu, on Lulu, on the online. - No, it's on the online. - It's on the online. - Yeah, it's on the online. - On your TV, small little show actually. - Wow, that's huge. - Yeah, really got bumped down there. - Check it out on Lulu. - So cool. - So good. - So funny, everyone go watch it. Thank you guys so much. - Thank you guys. - Thank you, very much. - Brought to you by Chase Sapphire Preferred.
