My wife is honestly those conversations I have with the firms that are just starting up. They're not the top of their market already, but they're making the fucking effort to be there. I want to help you. I want to give back. That's always been my thing. I am looking at research in your market to tell you exactly what you need to spend. You don't need to do this. You only need this much. I want to make sure people know that that's true. We are being genuine. We are giving free advice. Take it or leave it. Girl or don't grow. Welcome to this episode of Bourbon Approve, where we interview those who have both been successful at Lawn Life or coming live from New York at Bourbon and Branch. And we're honored to have on the Nellini Prasad as our first guest. How are you doing? I am so excited. We're here picking it off. Super, super first event of the day. Yes. And we have on our, of course, our amazing co-host as always, Marofi. Or he's straight from the Hollywood Hills. Hello, hello, hello. How's it going? And since we have seven, well, eight shows we're doing today, we're going to have former guests as guest hosts. So we're on on Colleen Joyce from lawyer.com. It's back on the show. Hello. Hello. And Colleen is your local yoke. Yeah, this is nice. It's my backyard. It's your backyard. So we start off with a poor. And I know we're going to do a very special poor for you. And it's poor Delini because you're pregnant. You can't drink bourbon. And it's such a travesty. It's such a travesty. So we're starting this off, hot. Fuck you, Bob. Because I have waited over three years to be asked to be on this show. I fucking love bourbon. I love Scotch more, but I'm good with bourbon. And then I get a text in September. It's like, hey, are you ready to be on Bourbon of truth? I said, thanks for letting me be your million person on the show. I can't fucking drink. You have the best time. You can drink bourbon. No, actually, when we were at-- Good for the baby. Wait, congratulations. I'm so excited. It is exciting. So it is actually most of the legal industry is hearing this year. First, third baby who cares, right, has been my thing. I don't know how to announce that. It's kind of weird. But we're very excited about it. It was planned. I would have done this episode earlier. We're going to call our bourbon steward out. It does have a very special mocktail for you. But the first time she told me was that the lawyer brought some in Las Vegas. And I saw Nellini drinking a beer. And I was like, why are you drinking a beer? And then I heard them say it was N-A. And I was like, oh, oh. So many hidey-kim-zeros. It is nasty. All right. And I know you're a big fan of sports. And so Legends is also a sponsor of this show. Our buddies, the Hawk Stats, and they do high-end athletic beer. And I know you're a big sports fan. I know you love the Jackson to Jaguars, but I could not do that for you. Yeah, because they suck. People don't make things. So they didn't do very well. But we did get for you the Legend of Duty, the Washington Nationals from DC, OK? Awesome. Thank you. Are you in your Nationals fan? I am. All right. I had season tickets at one point. And for anybody in the crowd, we have on the high performance the Legends brand. We have Yankees, Metz, and we have ones that are agnostic. So nice. So the only way to get any one of these, all you got to do is subscribe to the YouTube channel, join us on the Justice H Youth Community. If you show us that both, we also got Sickass Flasks and Pore's Open Bar on Night for just for fun. I like the promo. Come on up anytime you guys will. Let's get enjoy. All right. So now, Lady, can you show us what we're drinking here today? Well, you guys are really cool. I certainly can. So the lady here-- So the lady here-- I also got me looking ridiculous, because I love the brown liquor. I got a little bit of basil, a little bit of lemon. But it looks like-- I'm excited. Yeah, we get. They're me or me not. So can you move it in here? The dude is here. Look at the dude. I thought the dude wasn't in. [LAUGHTER] The dude is mine. Yeah. So the first trick we're going to be doing here is two-x-o sneaker head. So two-x-o coming in a barge, Town Kentucky. Everything is two times-- oh, everything is double oak to the do. They do it really uniquely. 10-foot piece of steel cable covers that in brand new America. White oak chunks. Same surface area as another barrel. And that sits floating in double-oaking in one aging session. Icon seriously did the sneaker head blend a couple years ago. And he's a big sneaker collector. Dixon is-- We got him. We have this for Brandon. Yeah. He made a custom pair of sneakers for a whole line yard. And this is to highlight his love of sneakers. Wow. And Dixon, we've been reaching out. Hopefully we're going to do more work with them. So we get to pick out our ice stampers. I've enjoyed the double oak we had last time. Now later, you get to pick. You can have attorney share, Justice HQ, the ambiguous for your illegal. And we also have-- You big with it. You big with it. Oh, it's Cindy all day long on that. Yes. You big with it. I mean, you were-- Maro gets-- You're going to get the attorney share for you, Colleen. Perfect. Maro, you will get-- forb and approved. And I'll take Justice HQ. You guys ready? We're going to stamp away. Are you just press hard? Pull out. Oh, and there it is. Look at that. That's pretty awesome. Oh, these shit. That's how it works. What? Are these in the store? Can we buy these? We should put those in the store. Yes. You swag. That's badass. Yeah. Oh, thank you. Ladies first. How do I get somebody to drink for two during this episode? There we go. I mean, this is why I got Colleen on that show. I mean, yeah, I'm taking her. All right, so Colleen, you are going to take her drinks. This is how this works. Yeah, OK. That's not a work. Yeah, love it. We just say yes. So, no, no, no, no, no, no. Oh, look at that. A double pour. All right. What do you say, cheers in your family? What do you guys do? We just-- we don't even cheers. We just drink. We just drink. All right, to just drink. It's like, you just carry out the bull shit and getting right to it. Yes. Oh, there you go. So that one's so good. That's actually pretty good. We'll never disappoint with these fixes. It's so good. My juice. So it's funny that you-- and I maybe go in off here, but that you got the nationals. I had a funny story there. So in 2019, or whenever we were in the World Series, or Blue Shark Digital, we had a shark costume in the office. I had had season tickets a year before. Seth comes into the office and he's like, hey, I got tickets behind whom plate to the World Series game. And it was like, you're fucking taking me, right? There's nobody else in this office that's actually in that span. And it was like, oh, yeah, of course. You and my son are going with me. So him and his son are at the game. I show up. It was the year that Baby Shark became a thing, because of Paro. And so I walk into the stadium with a full-on shark costume. I'm coming down the stairs. And everybody's turning around and making a commotion. Seth sees me and he's like, oh my god, what did you do? He's full-on embarrassed, right? So I get to the scene. I've got a beard, my fin, as I'm at the game. And then I end up getting on TV. I was on MLB, ESPN, all these things. And I was like, you're welcome, Seth, for the Blue Shark endorsements at the National Games. That is for you. That is my-- I have a picture of it. I use it sometimes in presentations. And it was my five seconds of pain. You guys do such great job branding. And what do you go to conferences? You've done the blow-up, Blue Shark, and the pool at Laudigran. Kids love it. Everybody remembers it. And by the way, I do now notice that Maro's logo looks exactly like your earrings. I mean, look at this. What do I say? Look at this. Look at this. Wow. You didn't know that. You know, Bob, I don't know if I ever told you. But you know what the Marlins man, the guy who sits behind the plate in all the games in the Marlins outfit? Where's the Orange Marlins outfit? And he goes to games? Sure. I don't watch Marlins days. People don't know. No, but he goes to World Series. He goes to everything. They don't go to World Series. He's a personal injury lawyer in Miami. He can get Marlins man on. So you're a mom. We see you on the conference circuit. You're also a genius when it comes to digital marketing. I don't know about that. I don't know about all that, but I'll take it. But you've had mentorship groups. I mean, you do your own podcast, your own rundowns. And you are a circuit speaker. Some of the comes with a lot of knowledge that people like to hear from. Why do you like that nerdy shit? I think a lot of it is I can't do the same thing over and over. And Google changes every day. And I have this idea that I can beat Google. I know that's not true. But it's fun to chase and come up with ideas and bold predictions. And having people just believe you because you've studied it for so long is really also. But I like things that change. I think with AI coming in, it's even more fun. There's all kinds of stuff everywhere. And it's funny that you say that I do. I think I get a lot of flack sometimes because I'm out there giving everything away for free. My presentations are take it. Go do it yourself. I talk to everybody at conferences. And I'm like, here, do this. I'm not asking for a phone number, right? I think people have appreciated that over time, for sure. What you would just come up to be sometimes at conferences and just open your bag. And there's a ball of shirt. And we'd be like, oh, hey, we go hide in a corner for a little bit. We know where I learned that from is you. So we actually met at a door dig. I don't know if you remember. But it was a big moment for me at that conference. So first West Coast conference, where East Coast based. And I show up. And my suitcase went to Honduras. First of all, I'm not the best dressed ever. But I didn't realize, like, California comes to play. It's like Gucci's T-shirts, right? In Cabo, you were in Cabo. Yeah, in Cabo. So I landing Cabo. I walk up. I know nothing about the West Coast community or anything about you guys. And I am in sweats for real and a T-shirt with no clothes. So I was literally the hobo girl at the conference. And they didn't know Blue Shark. They didn't. [BLANK_AUDIO]
like why she here from DC like this doesn't make sense. And then I was like nice and people were like, oh, it's the girl without clothes. Like people kept saying that throughout the conference. Then I realized there's only Mexican alcohol. And I was like, what is this resort? There's nothing that I drink here. - Sometimes it'll make you go blind. - Yeah, so I'm like not taking that chance. I got no clothes as it is, right? I don't need to be the crazy one acting up on Mexican alcohol. So we get to an event. - It was a Justice HQ event. - We had a Justice HQ opening party at Dordic on the beach. - At that Palapobar. - Yeah. Colleen, do you ever been to the Dordic Trial College? - No, this year I'm on. - Oh, you gotta come. - It's a party. Make sure you have clothes and nice clothes. - optional. - So I want to be. - I actually have been to a beach resort with Colleen and she comes dressed to kill. - I believe it. - I believe it. - I wouldn't do it. We were in Ibiza. - That's all we got to get pictures of us together and to be with the hanging guy. - That's a whole thing. - Yeah. - It's a different vibe. - A different vibe. - I'm gonna go to the beach right there. - Yeah. - But I'm at the bar and I see you have like a real bourbon and I'm like, that smells like normal stuff. And he's like, yeah, I got a bottle behind the bar. I brought my own shit. And it was like, if you've been here before and then it was like, sir, can you please give me some of your bourbon. I promise I'll somehow pay you back at some point. - Bob's like one of those like really militant like meal preppers, you know, that have their fucking meal prep with him everywhere. - Just that Bob has a bottle of bourbon. - I guess. - That's his meal prep. - But like his, it's in your birthday's always right around the Dordic Trial College, right, Barrow? - Yeah, my birthday's made 20 seconds. So is anyone wants to send me anything else? - He holds a birthday dinner. - Amazon. - And one year they're giving us, you know, they had a mixtures ride. It was the best one they had. We're like, well, take the mixtures ride. We're drinking it. Third pour in, I taste it. I'm like, get this bullshit out of here. He's like, no, he's like, this is mixtures. And I was like, oh, I remember that. We start speaking fluent Spanish. Like, oh, I'll see you in those are yours. And they give us, they're like, our mistake. And they'll really try to give us the cheaper stuff. All the guys, we know. - You can tell, yeah. - They had like fucking presidentate Mexican shit in a mixtures bottle. - Oh my god, yeah. - Had a really nice restaurant, really. - You gotta be careful. So from that moment on, I always show up to the Dordic Conference with like five bottles of my own whiskey scotch. And I've been friends that way. - And people appreciate it. - I appreciate it. - I've paid it for it. - You know what I always bring to the Dordic Trial College? - Oh god. - I bring five bottles of baby oil. (laughing) Just one or two is never enough. (laughing) I mean, it's the best for after son. - That's the lucky number. - It's the best for after son. - But a lot of people, you know, recognize you as an industry leader, but I just wanna ask you like, it's gotta be hard having little kids, being pregnant, going on the circuit. Like, why? What's your why? Why is honestly those conversations I have with the firms that are just starting up? Who need that advice? Who've taken the time out of their day, paid to come to a conference? They're not the social butterfly, they're not the top of their market already, but they're making the fucking effort to be there. And it's like, hey, you've been willing to talk to people in this circle. I wanna help you. I wanna give back. That's always been my thing, even with our clients. I'm on the road this much, but the majority of my hours are spent on client calls. I'm very client focused. My actual job that most people don't even know I do at Blue Shark is working on the product. And the biggest part of that has been, I am looking at research in your market to tell you exactly what you need to spend. You only need this much, right? That transparency really changed a lot of the competitors because they were like, oh shit. Blue Sharks out there, tell them it's only this, right? And then combining that with strategies that actually work, to me, it was always about how do we get the most ROI for our client? And then margins come in, you know, you want your margins, but our margins are very low. Seth has always been like, well, that's very nice and kind and caring, right? But it's true how we've stayed true to those things, and that's my favorite part of this. That's why I go on the road. I wanna make sure people know that that's true. We are giving free advice, take it or leave it, grow or don't grow. So, please. And I appreciate you offering on the Justice HQ Community App to start giving that advice, going over people's websites and seeing what's working, what's not. And I mean, if you give things out for free out of genuine, you know, being genuine, people will eventually want to work with you, especially if you're carrying a bag full of bourbon. (laughing) We gotta have your little tricks, right? Yeah, I've got your tricks. But yeah, it is, it's hard, right? You, and you do it. You have three girls at home. You're here one day, you're here one day. You just shorter trips. But it's like you land and you go to a soccer game. Where you land and you're not, you're not sleeping, right? You're not doing this for funsies. And maybe it was fun 10 years ago. I'm old now. I can't play that game that late. I can't, you know, it's, when you're pregnant, that's a whole different ball game. And this is the third one while I've been on the circuit. I will tell you this one's harder. This is a relash geriatric pregnancy. (laughing) I am old, I am old and I'm feeling it. So. Hey, this is Bob Simon, the host of Urban Approof. This tour we couldn't do without our sponsors. Even up is an artificial intelligence platform that automates a lot of the mundane tasks that lawyers and law firm staff do from demand letters to do running playbooks to opening up claims or in police reports and doing those so you can spend more quality time with your clients in the courtroom or in their living room. We also have attorney's share. Attorney's share is a product to be able to have lawyers find more cases in their wheelhouse to help clients without having to have the market spend that's out there and also tracking all of your referrals in one place. It integrates with all the major case management platforms and it allows lawyers to really better serve their clients and also refer out clients and other jurisdictions and practice areas and be able to monetize all of that good will that they put in. Our other sponsors, Justice HQ, Justice HQ is a mobile app bringing together all the community in the legal field from vendors to staff to paroligos. They have own masterminds. They have our podcasts are on there, other lawyers podcasts are on there. On demand education, every event in the industry and you have direct access to the best of the best. And of course, coastal research, coastal research helps all of us injury lawyers find out the insurance limits to investigation that's on the other side. Whether you know it or not, they're not required to in many states to tell you how much insurance is there for the person that catastrophically harmed your clients. But coastal research is able to do it very quickly and efficiently for you to have an actual technology platform that's so easy to use and pushes data back and forth. We only let people sponsor the show if we use their products and believe in them. This is a drinking show calling. Okay. Yeah. And you're drinking for two drinks. I'm so you maybe you start talking a little bit. Yeah. Where's Will? We need another pour. Hey, drinking some more. I got Colleen here. You never got me my email address back. Colleen, you know, I did. I have your new password and we're ready to go. Okay. Good. So you can reach him at at
[email protected]. Yeah.
[email protected]. I had it for years. And then I forgot the password. And then the company went out of business or whatever. They stopped doing email. But Colleen owns it. Thank God. So Paul as well. I mean, she got it back. Nobody's seen that really as
[email protected]. No, he used to be for years. But then I lost it. Now it's M fury. You weren't using it. And if you don't use it, you lose it. Yeah. And you'll go blind. And you'll go blind. All right. Well, what are we drinking for pour number two? All right. All right. You got to get rid of pouring. This one is the 19 20 old forester prohibition style. So this is done at the proof that old forester has done during prohibition. So old forester is one of the innovators of whiskey, a bourbon. First ever bottle bourbon in the world was old forester. That's back when bourbon was something that people were bringing the barrel from the distillery to their shop. And then you'd come bring your jug and you'd fill it up. And that guy was probably taking little sips in there and a makeup for that, you know, lost profit or a distretches profit atting things like turpentine, chewing tobacco spit, food coloring sometimes, ammonia, things that were harming people. And whiskey or bourbon specifically made it two thirds of the US tax revenue at that time. So kind of a big deal to keep it going. So old forester brown foreman, what they did or George Brown and Brown started bottling everybody up because it was such a new thing innovative. You could tell if it had been tampered with any hand signed everybody as a personal guarantee that this is not going to harm you. That's awesome. Wow. And in the future, I mean, will she tell them what we're going to try to do with old forester? Just tell everybody what we would like to do. Yes. So we are in talks right now with old forester to pick out our own bourbon approved private barrel. That's awesome. Yeah. So we're coming back to Louisville. In order for you to get the secret pours, the information, you got to follow the community on Justice HQ because we only play with verified cool people. That's it. Speak on verified cool people. Who are the industry scumbags that you'd like avoid? Either anyone here can answer if they so choose. You don't have to answer my question. I might be on that list for some people. One, two cheats still in line. Yes, those ones. Well, I might be on that list because I'm known as a real swag kind of dude and I go by everyone's setup at these conferences and I take all their shit. I mean, I might have 25 quintess of battery packs. He did take a bunch of bourbon-proof legends gear. Yes. Well, cheers. Cheers. Cheers. You know what? I just learned about that. So at your conference, she had these cute little Penelope bottles and that's actually one of my favorite herbims because it's more on the rye Scotch side, right? And show me the story about how your friend, like childhood friend was the owner of that. Thank you.
You can get your own bourbon barrel. You can go in with friends and do that. That's the top of my list now to go do that. They're New Jersey, right? Yeah. But now it's pretty good. I still have-- I took three of those mini bottles from your conference. I had a drink home because I don't want to carry them on the airplane, but they're empty sitting in my dresser. What conference was that? Did I miss that conference? Lawyer Growth Summit. Oh, you did, actually. Where was it in Vegas? Yeah. No, you were at the Barrester's Ball in Arizona. Oh, that's what I was doing, yeah. You were double booked. You liked double-- Where was that? No, why not? Arizona for the Barrester's Ball. I was there for the putt-putt-pollusa. Yeah, Austin and Brian's event. Yeah. Well, there you go. So, Delina, you talked about artificial AI being an exciting time in digital marketing. Yeah. Tell us what's going on. Because your episode's going to air in a month or two. We kind of want to see where things are going and see it. Yeah. It is. It's very exciting. And things are changing every couple of weeks, right? From presentation to presentation, I can't use the same screenshots as what I'm learning. Because I go look at it the night before the presentation. I'm like, oh, shit. There's a new view, right? So examples are like, in the past, you could say, who are the best personal injury lawyers in Los Angeles? And it would actually give you three names and give you some information about why. They were pulling from certain places. And then, two weeks later, you said, who is the best personal injury lawyer in Los Angeles? It's only showing one result now. That's where we are right now. Why is it me? [LAUGHTER] We wish. We wish. But what I say about ChatGBT AI-type platforms is it's Google 20 years ago. It's figuring it out. Things are going to change. There's no perfect answer. If somebody sits here and says, here's the five things you do. And it's going to 100% get you to rank. It's all bullshit, right? Right now, you can say there's about five things you should do that can help you get there. But there's no guideline yet. We're probably a year away from that. We are closer than we were nine months ago at having no idea. There are about four or five things, right? So lawyer profiles like ABO, being pretty good about keeping those clean. Reddit has been a thing with just being more consumer facing information. Press. Press is a huge one. Press has always been big, right? If your firm is doing well and you've gotten your name out there, or you have a show like this in your names everywhere, and you got those reviews, those are the things that are going to carry you into the future. It's really having your name places and your results. Results are a big one. If you can actually say recovered over a billion dollars, doesn't matter about all your little results. But if they see that total, recovering over a billion at this point is a top 0.05% of firms in this country, right? All those people have caught onto that trick. It's on their home page. They're showing. So what I do is if you go on any search engine and tie, I typed in who are the top legal influencers. And I was actually on the list, I said, "Well, shit." And I went to see where they're pulling the data from. Because they'll put the little clip to show you where it's going. Go and see how other people are doing it. Because if you put top person, lawyer and Los Angeles, I'm not there. Because other people are doing some other things, but see, click and see how they're doing it. And I did this at Calah Women presentation, where I did LA. And you guys have crazy verdicts out there, right? There's tons of firms who are very worthy of being those top spots. It was a woman who, she has a resume, it's fine. But she wrote a press release that cost her 200 bucks. She put it out to all these different sources. She called herself a legal tycoon. All of the headlines were great for GBT. She's ranking up their number one. Because of a simple press release, you control the narrative right now, right? And if you're a firm that does have the higher results, you're not going to be using combating that and showing Chad GBT that you're not going to show where you with a Teranayah for this. I was. Was why did we didn't get an invite? It's right down the street. When when was that? The Teranayah. What's the city? It's a win was that was that recently? God, I don't know. I was like, sometime in the last three weeks, probably four weeks. Yeah, I was recent. It was recent. My first Calah women, I loved it. I mean, I was going to crash, but you know, it is funny, though, because it is all what you show people, right? It's what you make of yourself. But where Google is now is like, it's not going to take that press release that the woman put out, right? Google's actually going by real stuff that's going on. And that's where I say, Chad GBT's not there yet, right? It's almost there. So. Yeah, we have one of our sponsors, like EvenUp, EvenUp, is use Artificial Intelligence. They're running an entire platform to run your case from soup to nuts. I mean, perfect use case of AI being implemented, but also embedded in everything that we do. And just look, it's common. People just got to be realized and be educated on it. And there we have it. We also have-- we have Ian from Maclow here. Look, she was on the show earlier today, and I didn't want to throw one of the buss. But look how beautiful these works of art-- Beautiful, but gorgeous. Poor just a ball. These are very hard to come by. If you see any of these works of art, the Maclow, any of them, they just released. They're bourbon, they're Ryan Bourbon, phenomenal. So if you see in the store, grab it, because it ain't gonna last. Very limited edition. It's good if you do so, say yourself. [LAUGHTER] You should-- Nellineo have some-- what about what? Like March, April? What's on this-- What do you do? April, mid April. Oh, mid April. So other things that have been wild. So I went to Edinburgh this year. I am more of a Scotch person, right, than Bourbon. And I was like, you know, some ladies buy nice purses and things when they go on vacation. I shipped myself seven bottles of really nice Scotch that's only made in Scotland. So I did that in June. And the beginning of September, I get a knock at the door, and there's this giant box. I'm like, I don't know what this is. So my husband's catching, he opens the box. He's like, there's bottles of liquor here. He's like, oh, I did that. And now I cannot drink that. Oh, it's terrible. You know, I was in Scotland. If you're after your first trimester, you can have two glasses a night. I read that. Yeah. I don't know. Maybe we'll see. Third kid. Third kid. You know, Bob, I went to Scotland with my buddy, Rob May, who you know. And we spent a night in Edinburgh. Very cool place. And we were walking around. And I was like, you know what I want to do, Rob? I want to go to a Chinese restaurant in Scotland, just to see what the Chinese version of Scottish Chinese food. So we went to this place in like downtown Edinburgh for Chinese food. And it was fucking great. Like what Chinese people. It was amazing. It was like Scottish people cooking. No, they were Chinese. Yeah. But I have to end up in fucking Edinburgh. I don't know, but the fucking food was good. Everywhere. There's also Indian people everywhere. There's always good. He tries to find random like Chinese restaurants everywhere we go. He's like, oh, true. But there's a Chinese restaurant in every town. Yeah, let's go to the Chinese. We were going to Yellowstone. Going into Yellowstone, he goes, yeah, eight of that Chinese restaurant. It's 10 minutes out. I sure love it. I love it. Yeah, we were in Yellowstone National Park. That place is good. You know, we're doesn't have to tell you Chinese food. Yeah, me. For Julia. He does. He does. Let them do what he does. Which also reminds me of. So everybody here travels quite a bit for their thing. But what's your like weird conference things that you do that you maybe haven't ever told people that you do. But it gets you through the conference. Do you have a thing, a comfort thing, a weird like, I mean, I drink a lot of caffeine more than normal. Can show. Yeah. I drink like two monsters because you know, it's people don't realize how exhausting it is just talking to people. Yeah. But I'm not running marathons, but I talk to a lot of people. It's exhausting. I got to drink a lot of caffeine. So I do a lot of weird shit. One is. I'm excited. I do believe in. So you can eat a lot at the beginning of the day or lunch because it weighs you down. You start falling asleep. It is a marathon. I take time to hide. I will deliberately hide for an hour at a time to get caught up on communications. What I started doing recently is I wear. I wear an AI. I wear a plot that records everything I'm doing. Okay. I love those. Oh, I love it. So I've done it. It's quite up your alley. Is that that square thing people with? Yes. Yeah. You can do it in states that are single recording states. To be safe. So when I was in Austin and I did it in Vegas, I'll wake up the next day and it'll show me everybody I talk to. I'll talk to myself. No, it's an action. I am. So that's pretty weird. No, that's pretty good. So along the lines of food, I don't eat at the breakfast. I don't eat at the lunch usually cocktail hour. You know, like pop and little hors d'oeuvres in your mouth as you're talking to people. Usually I'll take my, I'll go catch up. I'll do calls. Yeah. Client calls and things are in those times. So I've heard somebody actually does not stay at the conference hotel on purpose. I do that. I do not stay at the conference. I do not stay at the conference, especially for like the caliphate ones. That's a thing. Really? Because you can't, if you get in the elevator, you get caught in a 20 minute conversation. So you're not going to eat the reservation. No, I agree with that. So it's like 1 a.m. and I'm hungry now. And so I have a door dash thing that I do where I go for Indian food every city that I'm in. I'm heavily in the Indian food as well. I've actually seen you in Orlando waiting for the Indian food. That's why I bring it up. You took copy for the first fucking time. So I usually wait when there's nobody around all like run down the, grab my shit, go back to my room and be like, calm. But the best part is a lot of times like 90% of the time I order it and I fall asleep and I never get the order. And my door dash is connected to my husband.
So, scudgy's like getting calls. When I'm a West Coast at like 4 a.m. That's like hey, your food's there and he's like, "God damn it, I'm gonna get it." And he's, so he's sending me photos. He's trying to call me. I'm dead to the world. But it's at 90% of the time I don't even get the food. But I would prefer to stay at another hotel where I could do that on the download. And because I order like food for nine people is also the problem, right? I got like two bags. I'm into that. That's good. I also share my location with my brother, my wife, and Maro. They actually know where I am at all times. That's really safe. Yeah, that's safe. Bob, did I ever tell you this time? I went to a Thai restaurant in LA one time. And I went in and I ordered a bunch of house hungry, you know? Like I ordered a bunch of food at this Thai place. And I was sitting at the table and then like 15 minutes later the guy brought the food out like in bags to go. And I'm like, and I was like, "What is this?" He goes, "That's your food." I said, "No, that order is for here." He's like, "Oh, it's for here?" I thought this was like a fucking family order. You know? It's not what I was thinking at home like for eight people. I know that's my dinner. Yeah. The guy was in shock. My joke is always, how many plates are they going to bring me this time, right? Because they give you the paper plates and the fortune cookies when you get Chinese. It's like 15. You're like, "Oh shit, really did it this time." One thing is you do have to remember my wife who she texted me today to make sure you eat before you go to the event. Even if they have dinner, because you end up talking the entire time. Yes, and it will straight fuck you up. Yes. And drinking. You're not getting away as early as you are. I'm a hider. I'm like, "Bob." But now that I know, I'm going to also now say it another hotel. Because I don't like to talk to people. I always like to stay at the hotel. But I know Bob always says, "Let's stay off campus." Yeah, off campus. Let's say off campus. That is absolutely an expert move. It's like a verse one. We go to the Cal, like I mentioned, the bigs. We know 4,000 lawyers that are there. I'm trying to avoid 3,999. Not the one. Not the one, the hotel. Yeah. And then-- A lot of tigers. I know. I mean, it's a different situation. That's why I came at you for the first time, Pauline. And that's where I saw her sneak in the Indian food. Up in the lobby. I got caught and I was like, "God damn it. Gotta start in a different hotel." Yeah, that was in Orlando. In Orlando, every time I've been there, it's always hot and miserable. So one time I'm there, I'm thinking I'm going to hang by the pool. Whatever is freezing. Yeah, it was cold. That last lot tiger's Congress on. It's so cold. I'm just getting wet at the end of March. Okay. But that-- I remember when he walked in because we wanted to go get something he came back to the hotel. I saw you in the corner hiding, probably waiting for the Indian food. I wanted to go talk to her. I'm not really a pro. You went downstairs. And that's whenever Tommy for Maltus was like getting thrown out and take him to his room. That was the worst. Yeah, that he was passed out at the bar and like no one knew who he was. You know Tommy for Maltus. He was passed out at the bar, no one knew who he was. He's in a different town. And they're like, we're going to call the cops. They're like arrest him for like public drunkenness. I was like, oh no, no, this is my friend. This is my buddy, yeah. Save somebody. Absolutely. So like I literally dragged him out of the bar like fireman carry on my back. Got him in the elevator. I was like, what room are you in? And somehow he remembered what room he was in. And I let him in his room. I just threw him in his room. Through him on the bed. And I left. And the next day he didn't even remember I took him to his room. That's a hero. He was out of his mind. He was a hero. Yeah. So I did. And I was like, man, if you didn't know I was there, maybe I should have seen you be at any booze or anything I could take. You know. But I missed all of this because I was talking to you. I came down tomorrow. I was like, you can't believe what just happened. I was like, that didn't happen. The other little hack that I do is some hotels have the different elevator banks are like you've got floor 5,000, right? So when you travel a lot, you guys probably get put at the top levels. They're like, oh, pretty view. I was like, no, please give me the lowest number. You do that, too. Yeah. You're a bank, especially in Vegas. Yes. Because I'm like, I want floor five at the font on blue because I don't want to walk. Yes. I spent 20 minutes in the elevator. And that's what I think. I'm glad you're right. If you're at 55 and it goes 55 to 24, you're coming down. You're stopping at 54, 53, 52. It's like, this is not a perk. This is terrible. So I don't know if other people do that. You know, whenever I'm in Vegas, change. I'm in Vegas because they have giant hallways. Yes. Infinite hallways in giant hotels, as they say. I always say I want to room right by the elevator. Yeah, agree. I don't want to walk. Yes. Because the night you're in the car, you're driving shit. Yeah. It's terrible for the world. We're towards the end of the episode here. We also ask you so what's your bourbon approved? We know that you're more of a Scotch drinker. You like the PD stuff. If you had to drink one thing in perpetuity, what would it be? I mean, it would be Scotch. But you're saying if there was a bourbon that I would drink? No, no, Scotch. What Scotch would you drink if that was your desert island drink? So I like really PD Scotch, Smokey. I don't like cigars, but if I feel like I'm drinking a cigar, that's great. I've been big on ArtBeg. I know that that's like not the highest dollar. It's not the LaFoeig and the Lava Golan that everybody talks about. What's it called? ArtBeg. ARDBEG. It's got the weird accent. Yeah, and there are-- it's I-Lays. Anything from that air region of Scotland. I love the PD. I'm just looking here at bourbon and branch to see if they have any on the shelf. I do not see-- there's Scotch is right here. I see Lava Golan. I mean, Johnny Walker, which is blended, McCallan, LaFoeig. Orphan Barrel. The Orphan Barrel Scotch is pretty good. The one that they age well. I've been a bigger fan of bourbon in the last five years. COVID hit. I was able to be in my street. I met my neighbor. And he has a whole bourbon bar. He became good friends. And he loves making the old-fashioned. And so I tried over 150 different bourbons from his bar over the course of COVID. So thank you, Mark. Do you drink it with your drinking scotch or bourbon? Do you drink it neat or do you like ice? I like it neat. Yes, yeah. I asked her that because-- I'm neat, yeah. --almost all Indian people. I know they drink it neat. It's just an Indian thing. And they also love Johnny Walker Black, yes. Which is blended scotch. That's not scotch. It's terrible. It's terrible. It's terrible. Thank you. Yeah, but yeah, Indians like the drinks neat. And everybody in the legal industry loves sending us a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue Label, which is the best re-gifting thing in the industry. Please get a blue label for me. No, that for sure. Somebody else sent it to me. And I do open it up to make sure nobody put it engraved or has a note inside it. You've got to open it to make sure there's no card. So make sure that, yeah. And then you can re-gift it. All right, well, thank you for watching. I'll listen to this episode of Urban Approve. Nellini, how do people find you? What's the best way? Do not email me. My email is a shit show. You can text me. And I will give that number to people. Yeah, really? So, what do you ever text me? I get the number. You actually have two cells. Oh, yeah. I have one right now. The other is in San Francisco. It's being mailed back to me. It's like the 50th time I've lost that phone. Because Getshi has my locations, actually. So my husband keeps finding it in different cities for me. That man. Poor guy. What's up with a lot? But myself on 407-319-6821. I offer it literally. I will respond to texts about any questions that you have. Wow, I love it. So whatever takes me up on it. Yeah. Well, she does get back to you within a week, a few texts there. At least within a week. How about Cullin? How can we get a hold of Cullin? You can reach me at
[email protected]. Okay. And you can call it everything to me. You're the only one with the password. Safe and sound. Love it. Thank you, everybody. Thank you, Barbara Branch. Stay U-Norick City. We're going to have a episode number two. Let's give it up for Delaney. What's up? Yay! [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING]
