Giddy Up Full Show (06/11/26)

This episode of Giddy Up with Gareth Hall, aired on Friday the 6th of November, previews Champions Day at Flemington, the concluding day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival. The program opens with jockey Zac Lloyd, who reflects on his first Group 1 victory during the carnival, riding the unbeaten Proxima Dea to win the VRC Oaks for trainer David Payne. Lloyd describes the challenge of a wide barrier draw and the tactical ride that secured the win, and he also looks ahead to his mount Linebacker in the Five Diamonds at Rose Hill. Form analyst Mark Hunter then joins for the Hunter's Edge segment, working through the Champions Day card under the expectation of rain and a deteriorating track. Hunter and host Liam O'Keefe discuss the likely track rating, wind direction, and which runners will handle the conditions best, offering selections across the Queen Elizabeth Stakes, Fisher Stakes, Matriarch Stakes, and the three Group 1 features: the Champions Sprint, Champions Mile, and Champions Stakes. Hunter nominates Hanky Alpha as his best bet and builds his quaddie and multis. Champion trainer Chris Waller later joins the show to discuss his stable's week, including the late scratching of Asterix from the Melbourne Cup, and to preview his key runners, including Autumn Glow and Eliana. The weekend preview team then covers the Rose Hill meeting, and the show announces its Mega Boost horse and weekend top-four multi.

Speaker 2Yes, good morning. This is Giddy Up with Gareth Hall, and this Friday, it's the 6th of November. It's a big hello to you, listening on your local SEN track and RSN 927 dials, wherever you may be listening on the SEN and RSN apps, and of course, watching us on racing.com. Well, it's been some week, and we're nearly there, but we've got the Champions Day to come at Flemington, and what a day it promises to be. Hopefully, the rain doesn't arrive, but we've got superstars everywhere you look in those three group ones. The best sprinter in the land, Tempted. The best scalloper in the land, Autumn Glow, in the Champions Mile, and then it's basically a rerun of the Cox Plate without the three-year-olds in the Champions Stakes. We'll dissect that race meeting. with Mark Hunter for the Hunter's Edge. Zach Loy will join us from the top after he won his first group one during a Flemington carnival aboard Proxima Dea, who remains unbeaten, this filly for David Payne, and she was sensational there in the VRC Oaks there yesterday. The midweek, not the midweek, I should say, the weekend preview team are ready to go. They'll preview the Five Diamonds meeting at Rose Hill and, of course, Champions Day at Flemington. Benny Caluzzi, Sack Tunbridge, we'll also catch up with Mickey Gannon, who will be in the studio, I think. Dean Watling. Our Mega Boost horse will be announced at 9.30, and then, of course, we have our weekend preview top four multi, all thanks to Maccas. We'll find you some winners with bag of tips, then we'll go right across Australasia to help you back a few winners this weekend, plus Country Corner as well with Josh McGuinness. Giddy Up Always brought to you by Bet365. It's never ordinary when it's brought to you by Bet365. What's gambling really costing you? And don't forget, I nearly forgot, 9 o'clock, straight after we finish with Mark Hunter, around that time anyway, the champion trainer, Chris Waller, will be joining us to preview his runners ahead of Champions Day. But it's two minutes past eight, and this was the highlight yesterday.
Speaker 3Here's Proxima Dea now, moving up boldly at three and four deep. Dearmus is presenting as well. The big guns are up there. Three hundred and fifty to go. Proxima Dea went to the front after being wide. The trip Dearmus is chasing. Shameful impulse to the outside. Two hundred and fifty to go. Proxima Dea in front of length of the corner. Dearmus trying to wear her back. And in came Shameful Impulse. Proxima Dea, one hundred metres to go. She's tough. She led by two legs, and they won't get her. Proxima Dea won the Oaks. Proxima Dea first from Shameful Impulse.
Speaker 2She didn't have much luck in the early part. It was an aggressive ride by Zach Lloyd, and he didn't panic, and eventually he got in down the back, but it didn't matter how that race was run in a way. She was always going to win. She was clearly the best filly. She had the best form lines leading into the VRC Oaks, and she won like a good thing in the end. And Zach Lloyd, that was a big day for him. That was his first group one during the famous Flemington Carnival. I'm sure it's the first of many. He's about to join us here on Giddy Up after tasting success there yesterday at Flemington, and the superstar young jock is with us. Now, Giddy Zach, congratulations, mate. Morning, Gap. Thank you very much, mate. What was it like winning a big group one during the famous Flemington Carnival?
Speaker 4All group ones are good, but that one had a bit of an extra special touch to it. Yeah, it was fantastic to be at Flemington for the Carnival on Tuesday and on Thursday, but to win the Oaks was, yeah, fantastic.
Speaker 2She's a special filly.
Speaker 4Yeah, she's pretty good. It's so hard to do what she's done. Yeah, six for six for a stayer is extremely hard to do. So, yeah, she just keeps raising the benchmark.
Speaker 2Talk us through the run from that wide gate.
Speaker 4Yeah, well, on Monday when the barriers come out, geez, my heart sunk when I seen that draw. And it's quite funny. I have a partner who doesn't know anything about racing, and she goes, she saw it first, and she said, 19, is that any good? I said, what 19? She said, 19 in the Oaks. I said, oh, shit. Yeah, so it was always going to be a bit tricky, but luckily I had a very good horse at the end there.
Speaker 2Yeah, and she just like, it doesn't matter how you ride her, how fast or slow the race is won, or race is raced, she just finds a way.
Speaker 4Yeah, well, I had to sort of break the race. And obviously into that first bend was the first part. And I wanted to dig in well and go forward quick and try and jack tempo, because obviously if they go quick, that creates gaps for where I could slot in. So I tried that first, and obviously a fair few dug up. And then the second part is you don't want to be working around that bend, so I come out of the speed, try to save as much petrol around the bend. And I was quite happy being three wider in that bend. I didn't want to be, obviously, four, five, six wide. And then I was just hoping the pace would increase down the side, but it never. So that didn't allow any horses to sort of not go that pace. So there was no gap for me, really. And I just had to try to focus on her and get her in a good rhythm. And I must say, she was in a lovely rhythm. And because you weren't going quick, that enabled me to sort of take up a couple lengths pretty cheaply. So, yeah, it didn't work out great. But, yeah, I just had a horse that could handle what was.
Speaker 2Extra special teaming up there with David Payne?
Speaker 4Yeah, of course. And also I had my dad on track, too. So, yeah, him and David, yeah, they're good friends. They speak a fair bit. So, yeah, it was great to do it for David.
Speaker 2Yeah. Did you enjoy Cup Day? Obviously, the result with Hopewell Rock didn't go your way. But for yourself to experience another Cup, what was that? What was that like?
Speaker 4Yeah, fantastic. The build-up was great. It was great to see George Bowie again. Went to a nice dinner Tuesday night. Fantastic to ride for him again. Obviously, the race didn't go as we would have liked. But I feel like that's going to happen more times than not in the Melbourne Cup. But I enjoyed the day. And, yeah, it was great to catch up with George.
Speaker 2I guess it would have been frustrating riding in that Cup knowing probably midway through that you're a no chance. With the way that that race was run.
Speaker 4Of course. Obviously, I felt like I was no chance. But at the same time, I was next to Ethan Brown and ended up winning the race. Yes, yes, yeah. He was just on a horse that had a very good turn of foot. And obviously, being a European horse, my horse, he would have appreciated a much more genuine gallop. But, yeah, couldn't really control what was happening. But, yeah, he'll live to fight another day on that horse. He is a very good horse.
Speaker 2Back in Sydney tomorrow, you're on Linebacker in the Five Diamonds. He's a second favourite. And he's a horse that always has promised a lot. But this looks a lovely race for him there at Rose Hill tomorrow afternoon.
Speaker 4Yeah, he's back to, yeah, a high level. He obviously just had a little disappointing prep, I think last prep. But his last run was very, very good. And we thought he might run like that. So, yeah, he. He's been super. He meets the Clichy Boulevard, I think, two and a half or three kilos better in the weights, which could be the difference. $8,900 could be a query. But, yeah, you've got to find out for $2 million.
Speaker 2Yes, you do.
Speaker 4Yeah, I'm hoping he can run well.
Speaker 2Outside of Linebacker, what's your best ride for the day there at Rose Hill, Zach?
Speaker 4Tough card. Tough card. Not many stand out, but probably Donatello. He's due for a win. I thought he ran very. He ran very well last start from the back. So, yeah, probably him.
Speaker 2You've got J-Mac covered in this premiership. Well, you're 13 in front of him. I know you've got a bit of a holiday after Saturday. Yeah. But, yeah, geez, you got him off the bit, Zachy boy. You've got him off the bit here. He's just dropped out. He's going to say, Gareth, I'm going to waltz in this premiership. We'll have a chat to Zach later on. I think he's off the trial. So, yeah, it was terrific. Terrific performance by Proxima Dea. Zach put her into the race and he didn't have much luck, but it didn't matter what kind of run that she had there yesterday. She was always going to be too good for her rivals. It's nine minutes past eight. We'll take a break. On the other side of it, it's the Hunter's Edge with Mark Hunter as we preview, of course, Champions Day for the final day of the famous Flemington Carnival.
Speaker 1Text us on 0499 737. 736 736. On Giddy Up, it's time for the Hunter's Edge with Mark Hunter.
Speaker 2It's been a big week for my mate, Mark Hunter. Hello to you, Mark. How are you holding up?
Speaker 5Morning, Gareth. Morning, all. I'm travelling like Vauban at the 800.
Speaker 2He's backing up tomorrow. Come on. Come on. Why? You don't agree with that? Oh, was he an eye-catcher Tuesday? No. It's quite amazing, really. to say that he's backing up. - Gareth. - Well, I know what they're doing. Going Adrian Bottengate Waterhouse, Mark?
Speaker 5What race are we up to?
Speaker 2Well, I have an opinion, obviously. Well, I don't think it should be running.
Speaker 5I don't think it should have run Tuesday. No. Why? Well, winning off one, it's nine years old, it's never stayed. Winning off one run at Geelong, sold shares in it and ran 23rd. I don't think that's fair. They should get the money back guarantee.
Speaker 2Well, if you purchased the shares, you should have done your homework a little bit. Maybe last year, was this a good idea to buy shares in Vauban? You would have said no. I think they would have agreed at the 600. The Hunter's Edge brought to you by the Kia Seltzers Hybrid. Available now. Find out more at kia.com slash au. The man that you call the Colonel has had a really good week. No, he calls himself the Colonel. Liam O'Keefe, hello to you. How's things, mate?
Speaker 6Yeah, going well. Day five coming up, so looking forward to tomorrow night.
Speaker 2And how are you holding up? Better than Mark?
Speaker 6Yeah, holding up okay, actually. The team has done a great job and we'll bring it home strong tomorrow.
Speaker 2Mark, couldn't believe what you said early this morning on RSA 927, that we should be looking and doing our form for a heavy track. So, how much rain are we going to get in the next 24 hours?
Speaker 6Yeah, forecast is for about 11 mils set to start around early morning, breakfast time tomorrow, set to continue. Looks like till about one or two. Two o'clock and then easing off to scattered showers after that. So, if we were to get 11 millimetres and some of that during racing on day five, I think we'll be very close to a heavy eight.
Speaker 2So, there you go, Mark.
Speaker 6Same as last year.
Speaker 2Yeah. Yeah, so basically similar conditions to last year, Liam.
Speaker 6Yeah, probably similar. Last year, we did have 17 mil across the day. Okay. The way I'm reading this weather is that we will get the bulk of that rain, uh, up until about one o'clock and then hopefully it eases off to the odd shower. There's quite a strong breeze around. So, I'm hopeful that the rain does clear before the first and we get a bit of a breeze and it, and it doesn't end up too bad, but we'll just have to wait and see.
Speaker 2And will the, the, the wind play a part tomorrow with the pattern?
Speaker 6It's from the south west, which is a cross tailwind around the home turn and then a cross headwind in the straight. So, I don't think it'll play too much of a, of a, of a impact at that direction. But it is going to be quite breezy. So, maybe riders might just look for a little bit of cover coming into the straight.
Speaker 2And in the champion sprint, which will be race six at, what time's the champion sprint? At 10 to four. Will it be a case that it's just the horses that handle the track the best? Or would you prefer to be drawn out where Jolly Star and Tempted are, um, out wide? Along with, I guess, Ray McNero, if he backs up and Marzu looks the pace there in barrier 11.
Speaker 6Yeah, I think it'll be probably more middle to outside. Just looking for the fresher ground out there. Um, similar to yesterday, it was probably more, more across that outside half, middle to out. Uh, there were two photo finishes for both the straight races yesterday. Horses spread across that outside half. So, I think it'll be similar again tomorrow.
Speaker 2All right, mate. Can you do us a favour? Mark wants a, a, a backstage pass to go and see Fisher tomorrow.
Speaker 6I don't think he's a Fisher kind of man. He was jumping around. He was jumping around up the front at Robbie Williams. On Tuesday, I've got a bit of mine. So, uh, I think we'll leave Fisher to the younger ones, eh, Mark?
Speaker 5Yes, yes. Well, um, I'm curious what makes a good DJ. What, they play a good song and everyone goes, oh, Fisher, you're the best. Spin their finger a bit. Oh, great song, Fisher, you're a star.
Speaker 2Well, you should just go and experience it. Please. Yeah, you should experience it. If anyone can do it. Just, you can feel it through your body, Mark. Play good music. Yeah. Well, it
Speaker 5is
Speaker 2good music. Can't be hard. Well, we'll see you there. We'll get you a ticket backstage and away you go. To the awning. Yeah. It'd be goodbye to finish off the carnival. All right, mate. Well done to you and your team and, um, good luck there tomorrow. Thank you. There is, uh, Limo Keefe. Now, hey, G-Man, this is from Tonk, who's Pikey's biggest fan. Ray McNeary is without any bias the most electrifying ride of the carnival in the last race. Yesterday, over the thousand meters, came from last, looked a thousand to one at the final furlong. Full kudos for a solid second in the Oaks Plus Tuesday wins on Beach Pad and Fundamental Nature. We're at Chunky Odd. So he's had a really good, um, well, he's had a really good Flemington carnival. If you can include the Cox Plate, of course, for Pikey.
Speaker 5I reckon, you know what, Gareth, if he, if he settled in Melbourne, I, because a lot of our leading riders don't ride all year round, I reckon he'd win the premiership. Wow. I reckon he'd win the premiership. That's a big call. He came over here and got settled in and got, got going, got a bit of momentum, got going with quite a few stables because he's, he's a bloody good rider.
Speaker 2He is. And I think that proved that, uh, yesterday I was talking to Paul. He said, well, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. sebastiani about this before the show like that ride on ray mcnero was tactically perfect in a way
Speaker 5he was aided by the leaders went hard so they could spread out and he could get to the part of the track that he wanted to get to but you watch that in dollar race earlier in the week there are probably seven or eight unlucky runners you call them unlucky or you call them bad rides because they don't get to the right part of the straight he did he's grown in confidence anyway i reckon this spring carnival in melbourne well look at his cosmic crusader ride in the cox plate like he just sat he could have panicked a little bit when james got going on aliana he sat and waited and waited it's like a perth ride
Speaker 2yeah no he was sensational got on your pike he could have another big day there tomorrow let's get stuck into this preview on champions day what are you doing your form for then mark i
Speaker 5don't know look it sounds like it's going to be wet it could confuse you hasn't it well it couldn't be as wet as last year surely but i guess every time we run his forecast it's hit and miss whether it comes i guess we'll do it for a wet track slow to heavy track
Speaker 2easily the first race is a tough race it's the english banner for the two year olds over a thousand meters only two horses have had a run that she's supreme he was placed on dubu and soldi that one nicely there on dubu and soldi's the favorite 320 goddess k i'm hearing really good things about this frankel philly at five dollars she's supreme at nine the chance are at 10 jackets off at ten dollars natural emotion at 11 rusty pearl at 11 um they're back public affairs it's 19 into 16 do you have any clue here mark well
Speaker 5not i wouldn't hang my head on my selections i'm going to tip number 10 natural emotion i like this philly she's not a jump and run fast and get tired sort of philly she's been sat big sat back behind them in the trials she's looked to be strong she's got a gate where she'll be out following the speed you would think in the right line so we'll go natural emotion to run well seven goddess k this is an absolute flying machine gee this it's drawn inside you think it would come to the outside where all the winners have come for the week but it'll it'll spear across and lead the merry dance for soldi hard to know if that forms any good or no good but at least it's got race experience and three the chances another one who's trolled up okay so i'll go a race i won't bet ten seven four and three interesting horses
Speaker 2that goddess k now i'm troy causton's and his partners had this horse in that ready to run sale but it was racing at caulfield on that wednesday before the sale was on the thursday now they thought it could win that day this daughter of frankl she's beautifully bred if she wins that she's probably worth a million plus at that sale she ends up going for 450 000 and connections of the caustans i think um in fact i think some japanese owners purchased her and they kept it with troy um but obviously she's got plenty of ability so it'd be interesting to see how she
Speaker 5goes tomorrow yeah look she ran she ran 48.4 i haven't got all the times in front of me but that was really quick for the day as well for the jump outs which is always a
Speaker 2good sign benchmark 84 over the 1600 meters is race number two at flemington tomorrow um who are they backing here hill rips had good back here at eight dollars a little bit of money for roulette king as well uh feel not the favorite at three dollars twenty for tom dabinick and geordie childs who do you like here
Speaker 5well it's in two races but i'm going to tip number 13 super more so i would tip for you or not on dry ground but i'm going to tip super fabulistic on wet ground i think down there with a six kilo swing on fuel not sailing along up on the speed didn't have the best of luck last time comes through two good races back from a spell i think he can run well too few or not it's a good horse he trains winners tom dabinick they they all just keep winning three wide first up ran well not saying it won't handle the ground but just the six kilo difference could be the telling factor and 11 mount bonner although it was good first up for graham big was back was out sprinted got through the line well it's got a heavy 10 wind to its name so we're tracked no worries there so 13 2 and 11 who's the best wet tracker well i've got no issue with super fabulistic i'm wet i've got no issue with mount boner i'm wet i've got a just carrying the big weight on a wet track makes it harder for fuel not what about test of love well it got through that warnable yeah wet it's getting fitter you would have a place chance
Speaker 2yeah and we got a bit of a tip there for the south aussie horse by joey gluiss yesterday dirty old town can run a big race this daughter of dirty old town can run a big race this daughter of dirty old town can run a big race dirty work i wasn't mad on it i didn't no yeah well that's a stupid question gareth of south australian form you don't even look at it don't waste your time you say it's a harder race race number three is the queen elizabeth stakes over the 2600 meters now this is an interesting race um you can scratch the 12 house of lords we get to see defiantly who was a melbourne cup favorite for a long time um and obviously was scratched last saturday with a minor issue but he's right to go he's at four dollars eighty here with bet 365. you've got pittsburgh Pinhole at $3.20, King Pedro at $4.40 and Defiantly at $4.80, Litsteel at $6.50, Barclay Square at $10, Valiant King at $15, Your Horse Vauban at $26, Man's All Blue at $29 and then big prices for the rest led by Bella Montagna at $29 here, Mark.
Speaker 5I think Pinhole and King Pedro will savage the judge. A heavy track, I'm not so sure on Pinhole. It did run well on a heavy track. It ran okay on a heavy track up in Sydney. I would probably rather it up on top of the ground, but as long as the track's not bottomless, it just basically had a barrier trial in the Moonee Valley Cup. Nowhere to go, ran seventh, should have won the race. It's in super form, didn't have a gut buster last time and I think it can win. Five, King Pedro got held up behind that slow speed, ran well. It'll be fit now. I think from the gate, they'll probably ride it quietly, let it run on and value for the place number nine, Man's All Blue, was hard to miss, smoking through the line there last start. Further the better, if it becomes a real staying test, it should handle the ground okay. Looking at its New Zealand runs, it's not the worst. So I'll go four, five, four to win from five, then nine. Don't like to fightly? Watch how Kislyar goes. They're just too slow. Maybe on a bog track, it could get up and make it a real, real staying grinding test, but I think it's pretty short in the market. I think Pinhole's a better horse than Kislyar. Yeah. And defiantly.
Speaker 2Yeah. So do you think Kislyar could go as quick as the jockeys wanted him to go? His last couple of starts here in, in, in Melbourne in the cup and then in that Mini Valley Cup?
Speaker 5Yeah, I take your point, but you have got Vauban, Torrenzino, Litsteel in this race as well. So defiantly there's no guarantee to find the lead comfortably early and get into its rhythm. It has drawn wide where it can roll forward. And I do take your point that Kislyar has gone too slow in both runs. But I think, I just think, I don't, I just think it. Needed further, it needs 3,200 at least defiantly.
Speaker 2I think Dylan Brown McGonigal, he'll ride it like a pacer there at Moonee Valley back in the day, like a smoking up or one of those horses where he just has, he'll, he'll just go to the front at all costs basically, and just keep on
Speaker 5running. He has to, cause he hasn't got a change up speed.
Speaker 2Yeah. So four, five, nine, your numbers there in race number three, the Queen Elizabeth. Um, we'll take a break. This is the Hunter's Edge on this Friday morning on Champions Day Eve, it's 24 minutes past. We'll come back and have a look at race number four on the program, which is the race that Mark Hunter can't wait for, the Fisher Stakes over the 1,200 meters.
Speaker 1Text us on 0-4-double-nine-7-3-6-7-3-6, live across Australia. This is Giddy Up with Gareth Hall.
Speaker 7Take it up. Slow. Steady. Undress. Impress. Come on, Mark. Take it up. Yeah, that's Fisher.
Speaker 5Slow. Steady. Undress. I can see why they rushed down there, Gareth.
Speaker 2Yeah, a hundred percent. There'll be 80-odd thousand there.
Speaker 5I can see why they rushed down there.
Speaker 2Freezing. Waiting to listen to Fisher. Get there right away. Hope it rains. And he doesn't mind the races, Fisher, as well. He's one of us. Yeah. Um, race four is the Fisher Stakes over the 1,200 meters. This is a big field. Um, the favourite hasn't got a start yet, Hanky Alpha. Surely she'll get a start, Mark. I hope so. Yeah. What price is she here? She was unlucky there the other day on Derby Day. She's $3, Hanky Alpha. Inca Ruta 460. Photograph. I made this horse my. Can I give it away? I'm too late now. My weekend preview top four horse, Mark. You like it? Yes, I do.
Speaker 5I like it to run in the top four, Gareth.
Speaker 2Beautiful. $750. Immortal Star at $9. Watch Me Win at $11. Peloton at $11. Arkansas Kid at $12. Grand Impact at $12. Crips at $12. Grand Larceny at $15. The Bergerac at $15. Jimmy Ricard at $15. And then big prices for the rest. I tell you, one horse that I like, the Rhone Lafracus at $31. It was $41 10 minutes ago, Gareth. Have you had a bet, have you?
Speaker 5Uh, I like this.
Speaker 2Oh, you market mover. I like this race. You're a hero.
Speaker 5No, I was just noticing it was $41. Drop off. You could have told us before you backed it. I told Paulie.
Speaker 2Did you really? Yeah. Yeah. What about your friends that listen to the Hunter's Edge every day?
Speaker 5You're busy on SEN, whatever that was. Oh, was it before 8 o'clock? Yeah. Uh, I like Hanky Alford to win. I think this is a pretty good mare. Good wet track mare, this one. She was outstanding winning two starts ago. And that race on Saturday, that was just a train wreck for half the field. And Dola and Swain as they got it in the best ground. And half of them were hopelessly held up, of which Hanky Alford was one. When she finally got clear, she roared through the line. So she's run wider here. Revelling wet ground. And I think she'll win. Some value for the placings. Number seven, the Bergerac, just continues to get poor straight track rides. Got another one last time. Finally draws wide. Wouldn't, probably wouldn't want it too wet. But draws wide and gets its chance to run a good race. 11 photograph. You could argue she may well have won that race with clear air on Saturday. She'll love the rain. And 10 Lafrakka. I think this will jump out of the ground, this horse. Gets the blinkers on. Just didn't stretch out on the dry ground. At all first up. And that was a much harder race. Draws probably poorly for the straight. So Logan Bates will need a great ride. If the rain comes, Lafrakka just could jump out of the ground here at big odds. So I like 17, 7, 11 and 10.
Speaker 2Well, I haven't forgiven Lafrakka for that Warrnambool performance there during the carnival.
Speaker 5Well, you've got to get over it eventually.
Speaker 2Yeah. It was disappointing. Best wet tracker of the carnival.
Speaker 5Didn't go a yard. No. Well, something was obviously a miss because it went for a spell. Ran all right the other day. It was tacking on through. The line in a much better race. Didn't stretch out on the dry. Gets the blinkers on and just could improve a stack.
Speaker 2It could be an opportunity for a few punters to get a price on one of these horses with the changing conditions here, Mark, I reckon.
Speaker 5Yeah, for sure. That's your chance. Hanky Alpha, I was surprised it went up sort of $3.30 and then I thought that was too short. It just crashed into $3. So punters are obviously all over it. Photographs well enough found to Bergerac and Lafrakka are your value at this stage.
Speaker 2Race five is the Matriarch Stakes over the 2,000 metres. Vivi airs at $3.80 with bet $3.65. Too darn discreet, $4.80. Severato at $6.50 was a good winner there on Cox Plate Day. Penova needs to find her best form. She's at $11. And then big prices for the rest here, Mark.
Speaker 5Tip too darn discreet. I thought she had the job probably ahead of her last time with the 60 kilos. She pulled up with an issue. She belted on quite well. She gets. Gets down to 56 and gets Zara and gets a soft track, all of which won't hurt her. So we'll go with too darn discreet to bounce back here to beat eight Vivi air. She's going well. She's got to run 2,000 metres from barrier one, which I think wouldn't be any spoil by race five here. But she is going well. I think six private legacy. Probably doesn't want it too wet. One on the soft six in Adelaide. I think she's ready to win and Malum rides her better than anybody else. So I thought she was going to win last time. She just couldn't get there. She's ready now. Putting in. Four Soverato. I don't think it runs a step past 2,000 metres. Given a magnificent ride last time. Gets the same ride again here. And a little roughy number 17 Classic Gem I think can improve. Was not giving much hope last time. Was going quite well through the line. So five, eight, six, four and 17.
Speaker 2Machine gun Gracie. I think it's gone.
Speaker 5Yeah. All right then.
Speaker 2What about Sulika, the Queenslander?
Speaker 5Well, it's got a little chance. You take a line through the Queensland form with all those horses that ran up there last time. It was given some rides. It just gave it no hope in that carnival. It's got a little chance from a good draw. Perfect 10. Wet track will suit it. It raced too keenly last time and got held up in the straight and didn't have the best of luck. A wet track would certainly suit perfect 10.

Speaker 5i'm gonna tip tempted gareth like look she's trialed on a heavy track and she looked to get through it quite well she was electric on a soft six two starts ago so i don't know how wet we're going to get i'm going to take a few in the quality as insurance in case we do get a really heavy track but i thought they probably rode her a little upside down in the everest from the good gate to win the race she was left vulnerable and she still got there so here she got marzu probably cabela's out wide yeah she can get a good run behind them and she has to be the one to beat for mine seven jolly star i know she whacked last year to finish third that was really wet last year i think she just follows tempted everywhere gets every chance three headwalls is the one that will love the wet ground probably comes back behind the both of those runs on and nine skybird she's flying he's got some bad straight track barriers ben mellon this week and here's another one here barrier one but she'll come behind she'll pick her way through she just revels through the ground she should have won that race up in sydney she had no luck at all so on a real wet track i'm sure she'll be steaming at them late so i think she's got to be the one to beat but we're taking four in the quaddie six seven three and nine giga he's been waiting for these conditions he's got barbara on which isn't ideal he has been waiting for the conditions look we'll find out if he's still got it in him if he gets those conditions but he does need to improve now what about marzu lead but they'll get him over 1200
Speaker 2meters cabela's not good enough ray's not good enough no no um charm stone needs it dry not
Speaker 5good enough point barrow well this will be an unpopular opinion but i don't point barrow have you told sam that yes what does he say no he doesn't agree no but be brighter waltz and inkaruna that's not great for him and beat nafer and brighter waltz last time i i know it's look good to the eye and she's a good mare but this is a big class rise what's mark say he doesn't agree either okay no so i'm a man and what do you say
Speaker 2well don't bother asking
Speaker 5me that you don't agree you're entitled to your opinion but
Speaker 2it's wrong can they win yes or no in the vrc with mark hunter number one giga kick no two mazu no three headwall yes four cabela's five ray mcnerio no six tempted yes seven jolly star yes eight charm stone no nine skybird yes 10 ggs mistruth no 11 point barrow no and 12 plaintiff no race number seven is the vrc champions mole over the 1600 meters no scratchings to report here we've got a very short price favorite the superstar mare in autumn glow she's into a dollar 22 she was a dollar 30 many say that's still value for the champion mare tom kitson at 13 dollars linderman at 13 buckaroo at 13 sepals at 20 to 1 another wheel at 26 within the law at 40 to 1 pounding at 80 to 1 and then you've got el solado what how do you pronounce that horse el solado yeah it's been a long week how's it in um we understand what you're thinking jack but you probably you're probably not good enough here for a champion's mile 80 grand for ninth or
Speaker 5eighth is it um
Speaker 2you get um 60 000 for 60 60 yeah you don't get anything for nine well it's in trouble who do you like i found
Speaker 5one here gareth autumn glow i think she'd be very hard to beat i think a dollar dollar 22 is overs thanks for that 22 is overs look linderman will come down poor i never thought we'd see this year we'll see this year we'll see linderman in melbourne again but um linderman would have come down across the border kicking and screaming and here he is back in melbourne i'd say well he does he
Speaker 2deserves another crack here especially at flemington doesn't
Speaker 5he obviously he does he'll ensure a good speed there'll be no one pocketed and autumn glow will just be far too good i think tom kitten's just as good a thing to run second handled the conditions last year going well gets the blinkers on i think ridden to run second tom kitten will run second so eight to beat one and then buckaroo showed somewhat of a return to form last time for third so eight one and three
Speaker 2within the law a few questions coming through for that man for bm baker wet
Speaker 5will be okay uh it was good first up i can't see how it wins but it would go in my trifecta um pounding i don't know if he'll start if it's a heavy track no well he seems to be handling things a bit better as he gets older pounding he gets getting out in trip and handling softer ground he could run a place he's gonna what about buckaroo on a heavy track yeah
Speaker 2that's a concern the way he went a couple of goes i thought he was going to perth but they might have changed their minds since cosmic crusader has decided that he'll be going there and maybe pride of jenny maybe um i think we should bother doing the yes or no's it's pretty no no no no no no yes no all right then that says it all 42 minutes past eight we'll take a break we'll come back and have a look at the champion stake

Speaker 5one or ten gareth take your pick i'll tip cosmic crusader there thank god for that about time give
Speaker 2him a round of
Speaker 5applause who um he was a
Speaker 2magnificent thank you you potted him all carnival he wins a cocks play and you give him and finally you give him some respect that he deserves him i've just
Speaker 5tipped him second or third or
Speaker 2fourth even tip him in a pb
Speaker 5lawrence third look he was a magnificent ride i think i'll tell you what i reckon aliena was a bit stiff in the cocks plate
Speaker 2yeah why you think mcdonald went too early didn't you yes i did okay i thought
Speaker 5when they settled in the cocks plate i had the biggest bet i've had for a long time each way aliena when they settled in the run i thought there was no betting i thought she'd just win now it's a long run to make from a 500 meter mark that's when he came out i reckon he was riding i might be wrong that's only me how i read the race i reckon he was riding to beat chow wolf so my thinking is that he was thinking if i get chow wolf going it's a little suspect at 2000 it'll go with me until about the 150 then i'll be too strong for it then i'll win and not a disregard of cosmic crusader but i thought it was more focusing on chow wolf now he come out he got there maybe thought aliena was better than that she didn't quite maintain that real fast gallop to the line cosmic crusader willie pike just come out smoked up behind him didn't move till the 300 come to the outside and pinged him but he was really strong through the line still cosmic crusader so i'd love to see aliena come from behind cosmic crusader that won't happen and have a barrier draw has fallen i think aliena will settle fifth or sixth cosmic crusader probably has to go back behind a few others be giving a start uh wet track going off the turnbull stakes it's not not an issue for either of them so it's going to be a great battle again i'll just go with cosmic crusader who's just in unbelievable form for the stable it'll be giving aliena a start just as long as it doesn't have to do too much work to get up near it they'll come away there'll be nothing between them i'll go with cosmic crusader to win, to beat Tenaliana, as I said, I thought she was unbeatable when they settled in the Cox Plate. I thought she would just come to the outside and win. She did go early. She was brave. I still thought she would go better than that, but she's got a great hope. And five, Birdman. He had a good run behind him. He got a bit held up. He got through. A-100 made a long run. I thought Birdman had his chance. And as you say, the heavy track may not be ideal for him. So, one and ten to run the Quinella. Birdman next best.
Speaker 2But when you were watching that race live, were you thinking, you've got to go now, McDonald?
Speaker 5No, because the three-year-olds had done their job. They'd put the speed on early, made it harder for Land Legend and Light Inventory Man. So, they were always going to come back to them. Sir Delius, he didn't go as good as he can. There was a depth of quality around a few others. And then you got to the two or three big guns out the back. Chow Wolf, Aliana and Cosmic Crusader. I don't know, but I wouldn't be shocked if J-Mac thought that Aliana would have gone better than what she actually did. She went on the day.
Speaker 2Birdman did kick back to beat her after she headed him.
Speaker 5Yeah, that's why I would love, that's why.
Speaker 2Maybe she's not as good as you think she is.
Speaker 5Maybe she's just not as good a horse in Melbourne. I don't know. But I thought, I thought she would win the Cox Plate. I think she still might have won if he waited till the 300 come to the outside. Because Chow Wolf would have gone, followed Chow Wolf into the race, then come to the outside and not make a 500 metre run. So, maybe she still would have won, but maybe she's not quite as good. As what we thought as well.
Speaker 2And seeing as believing, Cosmic Crusader went straight past her.
Speaker 5He did, but he'd done no work.
Speaker 2In the, in the Turnbull Stakes.
Speaker 5Yeah, but she wasn't fit there. She wasn't as fit as he was in the Turnbull Stakes. There's an excuse there. In the Cox Plate, she made a 500 metre run. He made a 300 metre run, which is a big difference. But he was still so strong through the line. He was outstanding. So he'll, look, he's got to be awfully hard to beat again.
Speaker 2Do you give Sir Dillius a chance with the blinkers on? Obviously they changed up the gear with him.
Speaker 5It just doesn't. He just doesn't seem to be going as well as he was last year. And he's got to be going as well as he was last year to beat these two horses.
Speaker 2Now hear me out here. I was burnt with Light Infantry Man, but you were right. I probably didn't read the race as well as I should have regarding the three-year-olds and how much of an impact it might've had on a horse like Light Infantry Man and even Land Legend because of the work that they had to do to get to the front, even though that they missed the kick slightly. But with no three-year-olds here, it's a different setup. He was brave enough to jump 2,000 metres, he was brave enough to turn bull stakes on a heavy track with maybe a southerly win. Could he give some cheek at a big price?
Speaker 5He could. If I'm, look, if you watch the overhead shot, he jumped probably a length and a half, two lengths quicker than Land Legend. So I don't know what the stable's plans are. I've got no idea.
Speaker 2They'll have to leave, won't they?
Speaker 5Well, but if I'm on Light Infantry Man, I'm not waiting for Land Legend. I'm leading and I'm controlling the race. I'm not waiting for Land Legend. So if he got jumped. Found the front, he could give you a sight for sure.
Speaker 2Jeez, Moods didn't miss Land Legend there the other day when he had a chat about him. No, he didn't. Do you agree? What Moods said on his podcast, Moody on the Mic, he said he doesn't know how Land Legend won that day. He obviously exceeded expectations and then he comes out and gets beaten. What did he get beaten in the Cox Plate? 18 lengths. He believes that horse should have trialled or been forced to trial before going around
Speaker 5again. Margins can blow out. Like if you miss the kick like Land Legend did, the three odds make you work. That's, that's how the race looked like it would work out for Land Legend. It wasn't going to, in that small field at Caulfield, there were what, five runners and none of them wanted to lead. They were just waiting. It was the perfect set up. Yeah. Whereas in the Cox Plate, there were three odds who were going to make it work. And once you're gone, Margins can blow right out. So I thought that was a bit harsh.
Speaker 2It's a different set up again in the champion stage. So they might get better runs, those two. But he's got to get better runs. He's got to get Land Legend to jump, I guess, from gate four. If he doesn't, he might be what, what gate's he from? Land Legend. Oh, he's Barry Eight, so he's okay.
Speaker 5He's got Treasure of the Moment in blinkers, who's not so early as well, but we'll hand up and take a sit. Yeah. He's got to begin Land Legend.
Speaker 2He'll probably win. Race number nine. Well, before we go to race number nine, can they win, yes or no, in the champion stakes over the 2000 metres? Number one, Cosmic Crusader. Yes. Two, Light Infantryman. Nope. Three, Sir Dilius. Nope. Three, Sir Attrition. Nope. Five, Birdman. Nope. Six, Land Legend. Nope. Seven, Von Hawke. Nope. Eight, Sir Barge. Nope. Nine, Omni-Man. Nope. Ten, Eliana. Yep. Eleven, Treasure of the Moment. Nope. Omni-Man was good there in the Geelong Cup. Who's the rider? Dylan Brown-Macker. Have
Speaker 5a go at it. Hey? Have a go. You've stuffed it up twice. Have a go at it.
Speaker 2No, I haven't. You have. McMonigle. What? McMonigle. Sounds like Billy. Dylan Brown-McMonigle. That's his name, isn't it? You sound like Billy Bibbit on the Cooker's List.
Speaker 5Oh, shut up, Mark.
Speaker 2Race number nine. You're perfect. Race number nine over the 1,100 metres. Scratch the three in his rows, the 15 Hustler in heels, and the 20 Mice effort. Let's hope the cream can rise to the top here. They tell me you lost all their money there on Oaks Day. I guess he flogged me. Oh. Flogged me.
Speaker 5I had the last one going for a huge result, the leader. Did you? Mm. How did Guesty go? Did he win? He collected 10. Yes, he did. He collected 10. He collected 10 bucks for each of his clients. I collected zero, and I got some- Feedback? Some good feedback from some elderly women.
Speaker 2Okay. Yes. Would it be the first time? Race number nine. Educated, $5. Trey Magnifique at $8.50. Torsheen at $9.00. Ismaili at $11.00. Solari at $11.00. Electric Elvis would like it wet at $12.00. Prestige Lucky at $12.00. Verdot won't like it wet at $13.00. Royal Rendezvous, Your Horse Market, $13.00. Brave Design at $13.00. And then you go out to horses like it. Are they backing anything at a price? Not really. I heard a whisper that Sergeant Major might have come back a bit better.
Speaker 5Area one is a tough ask there. Look, I think this, D-Lane's down for two horses here. He's down for Brave Design and Electric Elvis. I'm hoping he rides Electric Elvis, because I think it's got to be wet by this stage. Gets drawn the outside gate. Perfect. It handles the wet better than most in this race. Perfect. And it's in good form. I think it's a great play each way, Electric Elvis, to beat six educated, who will, not easy to rate the leaders here. You've got to bust them a bit to get to the outside where the best going is. Rate them properly and then have enough carrots left in the tank. It's got a good hope if that can happen. Two as Marley is a good wet tracker, drawn the right spot with a claim. One Verdot, I think, is going great. As you say, doesn't want real wet. And nine King Toot, if it had been dry, I would have been all over King Toot. It's got that failure in Sydney on a heavy track. It was an end of prep run, so not totally bagging it, but I'm a little worried on the ground. I think it sets up great for Electric Elvis to run a big race. For the Delray, Delray Smallwood, blokes there own it. Danny Delray. Well, not him, but a few of his co-workers. Free Salami if it wins on Monday. Yes, yes. So I'll go eight, six, two, one, and nine. Trey Magnafix, the second favourite. Look, it's had, it's got a tough style. It's got a tough style of racing to maintain. It's drawn the right spot. It'll give you a sight, but I think they'll get it. No Tall Sheen, first up for the Freedmans. Drawn Inside makes it hard. Heavy track with 60 kilos first up. All right then, Mark. What are your best bets on Champions Day? Race four, number 17, Hanky Alpha is my best. The Dino Multi, race four, oh, race three, number four, pinhole into race four, number 17, Hanky Alpha. The Rammer Ruffy, race nine, number eight, Electric Elvis. The Quoddy, first leg, three, six, seven, and nine. Second leg, number eight. Third leg, numbers one and 10. And we'll go wide in the last leg. Numbers one, two, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 13, 14, 17, 18, and 19. The Danny Delray Daily Double, number eight, Autumn Glow, into one, two, six. Eight and nine. My spending plan. So here's your same race, multi and race four, Gareth. Yes. Number 17, Hanky Alpha to run top two. 11, Photograph to run top four. Number 10, La Fracca to run, can you take top six? You can take top six. Top six, top six for $20. Take top eight, maybe top 10. Top six for $20. Yeah. All up place, race four, number 11, Photograph, into race nine, number eight, Electric Elvis for $30. And an all up place, race four, number 11, Photograph, race three, number four, I'm hoping you can do this, race three, number four, Pinhole, the win. Exacto, race seven, eight to beat one, Autumn Glow to beat Tom Kitten. And Quinella, race eight, one and 10, Cosmic Crusader and Aliana for $40.
Speaker 2I don't know if you can do that. I'll have to look at the Bet365 app and see if you can do all up Quinella's and Exacto's.
Speaker 5We'll just reinvest. Have your $40 to win on Pinhole, reinvest.
Speaker 2Yeah. It's quickly approaching $8.58. We've got your Friday fill up. Spud's been on fire. He's got his tip there at Ascot. Is that coming up? Carnival starts to heat up. Plus there's a host of questions coming your way, Mark Hunter. So we'll wrap up the Hunter's Edge next year on Giddy Up. This is the Hunter's Edge, all thanks to Kia. The Kia Seldas Hybrid available now. Find out more at Kia.com. Coop.au Coop.au. has put over a perfect example of why four-year-old Darby and Oaks in Cup Week works. Aside from it drawing wide and wet tracks every start, Waller never knows what to do with his middle to staying distance four-year-old mares. Having a proper four-year-old series, you might see more people investing in younger stayers before they attack the Cups. And Cox played at five. The Golden Eagle works. He seems a massive black hole in the calendar. Your thoughts on that, Mark? You haven't got a thought, have you? No. Gareth, what's within the law's last two runs? Held up both times and should have finished top three in both. Loves the wet. Six bucks a place looks very good against Autumn Glow. That's from Chris from Perth.
Speaker 5It's got a chance of running a place. It's got some ground to make up. If I'm thinking Tom Kitten's running second, there's only one place left, and maybe it gets that.
Speaker 2Do you know what? Would you take the $4 with bet 365 with the favourite out? Tom Kitten? Yes. Yes. It's a great bet, isn't it? Yep. G'day, Mark. Revel Ari was impressive on return yesterday. Where do you reckon he goes next? That's from Barney. He was great. He looked sensational in the yard.
Speaker 5Outstanding, because he made some use of it early, couldn't get in, had to come back and then go again. It was enormous. You would think it's heading for, what, Ballarat Cup, Packham Cup? Something like that.
Speaker 2We're going to try and choose our horses for the slot races there at Southside Racing, the Supernova and the Meteorite. I think I've got my Meteorite horse. I can't reveal it just yet, but I'm pretty confident. Bring up Henry Dwyer. I've already, he hasn't got back to me. I don't know if that horse has gone to the paddock or not. Code Atlantic? Yeah. Pinstriped? Yeah, I want to get pinstriped. I asked EJ the other day, and he's still waiting back on an answer. G, can you do the Quinella and Xactra as a same race model and be able to haul them up? You can, Cooper. Thanks for that. Can you ask Chris Waller-Garrett, who's about to join me, if Pinhole will perform on a soft seven or worse? What else have we got for you? Good morning, lads. I don't know what you think about Aliana's big two wins in the autumn were run at a slow six, not a good. So that explains the Cox Plate result in itself. She's just slightly better on a rain-affected track. Your thoughts on that?
Speaker 5No, no, I don't. The wet track's no issue for her. No, she just handles all ground. Yeah. She might have gone a bit earlier.
Speaker 2Mark talking through his pocket, Ray Aliana. She was beaten fair and square. Thoughts on the pace and the stakes race here? So what do you think will happen? Will it be like the Cox Plate? The champion stakes?
Speaker 5Yeah, the champion stakes. Well, a lot of infantrymen and land legend can't go slow. So yes, it's going to be a solidly run race. And the wetter the better, I reckon, for Cosmic Crusader. Well, he'll handle it. But Aliana's, she wasn't quite ready in the Turnbull and still ran well. It won't be any wetter than that.
Speaker 2Yeah. Martin Foster from Sydney says, great to see William Pike getting some huge wins in Melbourne. Surely Cosmic Crusader will win. So there you go. That's from, that's from Martin. Gareth, I'm heading to Dunkeld also. How do I get my hands on some tickets into your marquee? I don't know if we've got a marquee. Have we got, I don't know. Mark will find a marquee. Just ask him when you see him at the races. You'll be at the pub Friday, Thursday night. Thursday, Friday nights.
Speaker 5Gareth, move on.
Speaker 2Yeah. Um, will Ray McNero run? I'm pretty sure he will. Got to get that clarified there by Robbie Griffiths. He'll be definitely going to the Winterbottom, Mark. He loves it in Perth, Ray. Ray, so does Robbie. Yeah, and so do you. You going back for the railway steaks? Why don't you start without me, Gareth? You better do the Hunter's Edge. You'll be having to get up at like four o'clock. Four o'clock. It's a beautiful time of the morning. Um, a few more texts, text messages coming through on the Gareth's Horse and Hound text line. Mark, um, what do you make of LLU if the rain comes?
Speaker 5It's got the inside gate. It's a very good wet tracker. Where is it?
Speaker 2What race? That's the last race.
Speaker 5Race four. Oh, race four, sorry. It's just steaks, Gareth. It's got, uh, it's a very good wet tracker and it's a good horse, but it's got the inside gate. So that makes it very tough.
Speaker 2All right then. Public affairs. I like this horse in the first race, this debutante by Home Affairs. What's Mark think?
Speaker 5I thought its trials were okay without raving. So I would be surprised if it could win.
Speaker 2All right then. Prestige Lucky's unbeaten. Can it win again?
Speaker 5Two runs, two wins have been really good. The Adelaide win was good. Bendigo was good. It's a much harder race. It's got some chance.
Speaker 2All right then. Um, what about, um, Spud's best in your Friday fill up at Cranbourne tonight? Uh, we'll go to Warrnambool.
Speaker 5Oh, today. Warrnambool today before the rain comes. Good, uh, good each way odds here. Race eight, number one, super snitch. It stayed at 1400 metres last time, which was just too short. Is that last? You love this horse. Well, do you want me to pick something else? No, I like it. Race eight, number one. Thank you. And, um, now jumps to 1700 metres. Brad Rawilla sticks with it. Double figure odds. You could do worse than have something on super snitch and spuds. He's got two bests that day. Race seven, number six. It's called Our Girl Can Run. Is that right?
Speaker 2Very good horse. We probably go to the winner bottom for Mitch
Speaker 5Pateman. And race 10, number six, Hurricane Harley. So he's confident with both. He's been in good form, Spud.
Speaker 2On and off the track. Are you going to spill red wine and embarrass him once again at Flemington, wherever you go up in the, where all the corporates go? I'll be doing my best not to. What kind of shirt you got on today? Quicksilver. Is that out of the package as well? No, it's years old, this one. You go to Torquay and go to those surf shops, don't you? That's it. I've got two shopping centres, New Balance and Torquay. Yeah. And you don't even know who Fisher is. Ah, I've heard of him. Yeah. Have a great day, Mark. Enjoy Fisher. Enjoy Champions Day. It's been a great carnival.
Speaker 5Thank you, Gary.
Speaker 2It's had it all. There's Mark Hunter for the Hunter's Edge. All thanks to Kia. On the other side of this break, we'll be catching up with the champion trainer, Chris Waller. All thanks to Bet365. Great to have your company on this Friday. Jeez, it's been a big week. And the champion trainer, Chris Waller, has had a pretty good week. He had two Group 1 victories there on Derby Day, and he could be in for a big day tomorrow on Champions Day. He's had one hell of it. In 2026, he's on 25 Group 1 wins. He only needs three more to equal the world record of the champion Irish trainer, Aidan O'Brien, who holds the record, of course, with 28 Group 1 wins in a year. And Chris Waller's ready to go now. Hello to you, Chris. Good morning. How's your week been? Up and down. Yeah. Yeah. Like a game of, like a piss match cricket, maybe a five-series game. I'm always fascinated to hear your insights. I love when we talk to you regarding the way that you go about running your business, but your organisation, and you treat it as a team. It would have been a difficult morning on Tuesday when Asterix had to come out of the Melbourne Cup. How did you deal with that as a leader of your organisation?
Speaker 8No, we just copped it on the chin on Tuesday, and then, yeah, made sure everybody, because everyone was pretty guilty. And felt terrible and all that. Like it was just a chain of things that could have been done a little bit better in retrospective, and, yeah, we're not blaming one person. So we take it as a team. And then the next day, just go through all our processes again. So, like, how can we eliminate mistakes? Like human error, it's pretty hard to fix, but if you can do everything you possibly can and do it better and better and better and better, well, you try it. So that's basically where we're at, and, yeah, simple as that. And I guess there's the human side of it as well.
Speaker 2No one wants to make those mistakes, and they don't deliberately do it. And then, yeah, that must be like to look after that person and then try and move on, and so it doesn't happen again.
Speaker 8Yeah, exactly right. No, we just, the person just wrapped the horse's legs and put some liniment on a spray, you know, a spray bottle. Right in front of the security guard. Like, it wasn't, I think it was trying to be hidden or anything like that. And just, like, the security guard said, oh, what did you do there? And the person just said, look, I just put some liniment. And the security guard said, oh, I've got to ring my superiors, which is rightly so. They were doing their job. Yeah, but we'll go through it all properly at the end of the carnival, and hopefully another stable doesn't make the same mistakes as that and try and help. Help everyone, not just worry about ourselves.
Speaker 2Yeah. Big day tomorrow. I can't wait. I think everyone's so excited to see Autumn Glow at headquarters at Flemington. Yeah. They tell me she worked brilliantly there Tuesday morning, Chris. Who's they? Oh, I don't know. I had my whispers, my track spies that I send out nice and early at Flemington. So I can't, I'm excited to go and see her at Flemington.
Speaker 8Yep. Yep, she's at the end of the prep, but she still looks great this morning. She looks fantastic. She's got a nice glow to her coat and relaxed and settled in very well. And she travelled down with Jolly Star last Thursday, and it's a good horse to travel with. Jolly Star's so relaxed and been around. And for Autumn Glow's first trip away, we found the perfect pony to go with her.
Speaker 2Good horse to handle any conditions, but she might have to face a heavy track there tomorrow at Flemington, listening to Liam O'Keefe this morning.
Speaker 8Not ideal. but she's one in all conditions. Yeah. And I think she won first up on a heavy track one day over 1,100, or something similar to that. And it wasn't her most decisive win, but over the short distance, it was still pretty good. And yeah, she's won good races on soft sixes and I think sevens. So the beauty of Florentin is it's a bit different to most tracks. It's pretty, it's superior, I think.
Speaker 2Yeah. How's Lindemann going? He's probably, if he could talk, say, what am I doing back here, Crispin? He gets his chance to perform well at Melbourne at our best track at Flemington tomorrow.
Speaker 8He's well. Yeah, bigger track, Flemington. He's raced here before and raced okay. So yeah, we just want to give him another chance. It's a long time before the autumn starts for him. So he's in great form and we think he can run top three and hence the reason we brought him down.
Speaker 2Yeah. Buckaroo, a lot of people, and he's still going to Perth with Buckaroo, Chris. Well, tomorrow wasn't really
Speaker 8our original plan. Yeah. So if he raced tomorrow, it might be a bit different. Yeah. So we'll assess things after.
Speaker 2Yep. Assess things after tomorrow. Can Jolly Star turn the tables on Tempted?
Speaker 8Well, we need Tempted to sail down. It's great. Simple as that. She wasn't beaten that far by her in the Everest. And we're pretty good down the straight. So that's what I'm hoping for, that we're superior down the straight. But she's an awesome horse. And as you said, it's great. This day's turning into a great day when you're seeing these horses clash again. This race, everyone was a crack at Tempted. And the mile race. Everyone has a crack at Autumn Glow. And the stakes, 2,000 metres, everyone has a crack at the Cox Plate.
Speaker 2She's a beauty, Jolly Star. Is she surprised you how well she's returned after that overseas trip in the middle part of the year?
Speaker 8Probably not surprised, but made me pretty happy. That's for sure. Yeah. It's a delicate process when she only really had a couple of weeks off after Ascot and then a few easy wins. And then a few weeks here and there, and a trip back to the farm after each run. And yeah, you're just gradually going towards big races and getting there. And she's been very competitive in all of them.
Speaker 2Eliana takes on Cosmic Crusader and Birdman, I guess, are the champion stakes. She's the favourite. Does it surprise you she's the favourite in this race after watching the Cox Plate a few weeks back? I'm not sure.
Speaker 8I guess it shows everyone's got respect. And it also shows there's not much between them, is it?
Speaker 2We just had Mark Hunter on before, our form expert on Giddy Up. He goes, maybe McDonald might have went a little too early on Eliana and the Cox Plate. Do you agree with that? I haven't thought about it. I disagree. But she gets the perfect draw and she gets a chance. It's like, it'd be, she gets a chance to win a big one this spring.
Speaker 8Yeah, for sure. Yeah. Yeah, the draw the other day, we had to do what we did and under the circumstances had a terrific run considering the draw. So yeah, she gets a softer draw tomorrow and yeah, hopefully we can turn the tables. She looks great.
Speaker 2Would you be concerned if it's a heavy track for Birdman? Ah, he's certainly not as effective.
Speaker 8Yeah. Yeah. Wouldn't be ideal, would it?
Speaker 2No. No. What about Pinhole? We all think he's nearly a good thing. But what about if it is a slow six or heavy track?
Speaker 8Yeah, I'm not too sure. It's, I guess we'll have to go through all of that in the morning or before or when we get a chance. You sort of doing your best to stay up with everything at the moment. Yeah. And, um, yeah, the tracks will get, with Pinhole I'm not a hundred percent sure, but I know he, I think he came out of the winter in Sydney. So I'd say you'd have some wet track form there somewhere.
Speaker 2Yeah. He'll be okay. Um, some big announcements there yesterday, James J Braddock, who was excellent in a Melbourne cup, Chris and Purview, who's got some terrific form lines there in Europe as well. Purchased by Aussie Care and his connections are heading to your stable. Geez, they're going to be competitive in a big wait for age races next year, you would imagine?
Speaker 8No, we're very fortunate to get ultimate support from Aussie Care and his team of owners. They're a fantastic group to work with and train for and they're constantly looking towards the future.
Speaker 2And yeah, we've picked up two beauties there. Mm-hmm. So what's the process there? Obviously James J Braddock's, um, in Australia, Purview has got to get here. So is it, are they autumn horses or do you just have to have a look at them and maybe work out a plan if you get to the winter with them or save them for the spring?
Speaker 8Um, well, James J Braddock, he'll come to us today and we'll just, just go through and see how he settles in, get him used to our system, um, check, check his feet, his legs and everything like that. And just see exactly what we're working with. And then start to form a plan from there. Obviously key would be to, to be winning the Melbourne Cup next year. So whatever we can to, to try and do that. And yeah, of course, with Sydney autumn, likely tankards and races like that, uh, work out, work out if they can join that. Maybe Birdman's a classic example. I think he came out and sort of at a similar stage and it was all about winning a Melbourne cup. And then he all of a sudden. Got sharper and, uh, and it took him a good year to get up to the level he's at now, even 18 months. So yeah, it's just a work in progress and keep them sound and, and not, not stress them too much while they're adjusting to us.
Speaker 2Yeah. Five diamonds as quickly as, uh, the cliche Boulevard, your best chance there in that feature race at Rose Hill.
Speaker 8Uh, she would be a great draw. She's in form. Good win last start.
Speaker 2Yeah. Um, if I gave you a hundred dollars, Chris, what would you do with it this weekend? Uh, put on James McDonald, the jockeys challenge. Yes. He can't get beat. Sure. He's got a big day, Derby day. You'll have a big day champions day. Then you've got to go and chase down Aiden O'Brien. You're not far off him. Are you going to Perth with any of your horses? Um, you'll have to take a few now, Chris, because you only need three more group ones. Really? Yeah. Then you'll equal Aiden O'Brien and if you go to 29, yeah, and the yeah, from, yeah, for 2026. And if you get to 29. Nine, then you create history. Then you have to try and beat it. Yeah, you do. But then you can say to Aiden and Matt, say, man, I've got one up on you and he's got more group ones than you to, um, compete in as well. So it's been one hell of a year.
Speaker 8Yeah, it has been amazing year, amazing team. And yeah, we're very proud of it.
Speaker 2We appreciate your time. Captain says, Guy Molcaster says, Gareth, you go too long with Chris after 15 minutes and I've gone 15. So I'll let you go before captain abuses me. Um, but I appreciate you as always,
Speaker 8Chris, and I appreciate the listeners and what they, uh, yeah, they've got how they contribute to racing. It's, it's, we've got a great following. We've got to keep it that way.
Speaker 2Yep. A hundred percent. And you do a wonderful job as a great ambassador for the game and you enjoy Fisher as well. Tomorrow. I can, you'll love you. Steph will love Fisher. She's coming to the races. Go on you, Chris. Thanks, Gareth. There's Chris Waller, the champion trainer, 20 minutes past nine. Let's get stuck into the weekend preview.
Speaker 1It's now time. For the weekend preview with Mick Gannon, Dean Watling, and Ben Caluzzi.
Speaker 2I tell you what, Mickey Gannon has been sensational all week on SEN. Um, it's been a long week. He's been staying at my house. Um, he's been looking after Bobby for us. Bobby's he's eaten, um, all of his clothes. Basically I've cost me more money, um, than any other guests this way because I have to buy you a new wardrobe because Bobby's got twit, but, um, how have you enjoyed this weekend? Mickey Gannon? Been an experience, Jeeva.
Speaker 9Thanks for having me. It's been really good. Uh, can't wait. One more day to go. Probably the best day of the, of the week as well, of the carnival. So just get that typical Melbourne weather. Yeah. What track are we going to be on?
Speaker 2Looks like it's a heavy track. Really? Soft and heavy.
Speaker 9Yeah. The Norwegians have come through with the goods.
Speaker 2So that's what they predicted and the track doesn't need too much more rain. Obviously it's been a busy schedule. It's the end of the four day carnival and we've had the Cox plate there this year. So yeah, if the rain comes in the morning and then if there's showers in the afternoon, then it's going to cut up pretty quickly. So it does like, like Jolly Star, for instance, we're super confident for it to run a place. Now you're thinking. Hmm. Bit nervous.
Speaker 9Yeah. A little bit.
Speaker 2Is the rail out nine?
Speaker 9It is. Yep.
Speaker 2Yep. All right. Good to know. Um, Zach Tunbridge, he's back in Melbourne.
Speaker 10He'll be heading to Dunkeld next week as well. How is that? Yep. Excited for that.
Speaker 2Yeah. Yeah. It's at its best. It's one of the best country meetings of the year. So I'm told. Yeah. So that's why we're there. Betty Caluzzi, tell me you've had a bit of a setback this week. You've been crook. Yeah, I was. I was no good early in the week. What did you run through the bridle too early?
Speaker 7Yeah. When a big, big Saturday at the races and then I had a bit of a music festival over the weekend as well. That'll do it. That'll do it. That's a disgrace. No cut preview for Ben. That's a disgrace from you. And then the captain of the race.
Speaker 2I would expect that. In front of the boss as well. I would expect that from Nick McWalter, but Not from you.
Speaker 7Hey, I think it's my first lifeline that I've used. So, yeah, I used Monday doing the form for the next day. So, apologies, lads, but I'm back here now. That's all right.
Speaker 2We found the winner. That's all right. We didn't need you. This is Cup Week. You should just turn up even if you are crook, but I can understand.
Speaker 9Did the missus give you a bit of a spray for that? She'd be disappointed in your efforts, as we were.
Speaker 2That's Olivia Cull, the superstar in racing.com. No, no, she was all good.
Speaker 9Yeah. Oh, she should have.
Speaker 2Dean Watling joins us. Is he ready to go? Dino, we missed you in Melbourne this year. How are you, mate? I'm going good, boys. And from Betsy.com.au, Dino, we can't forget that.
Speaker 11Yeah. We cannot forget that, Dino. Going good, boys. And, Benny, you can't coach a ticket. You were born with it or not. So, you didn't make it this week. But we'll put the line for the seven-day back up for you, mate. You maybe need a gap between runs. Yeah, a month between runs.
Speaker 2Dino hasn't slept on a few occasions. He's still turning. He's still turned up. Exactly, Dino. It's one of those places, Dino. Yeah, he has, actually. I remember the last time we were out. Mentally and physically. Yeah. I remember the last time we were out in Sydney. And didn't you call Zach Lloyd a hundred times because you had to sleep on his veranda? Is that right? I don't know, D. I don't know. Anyway. And Dino, when he has a bit of fun at night, he FaceTimes everyone, basically. Yeah. Yeah. Like seven mates, James. Yeah, everyone's wise. 23 minutes past nine. We'll start off with Rose Hill and then we'll get stuck into that Flemington card. And we've got our mega boost coming up at 9.30, Zach.
Speaker 10Yep, 9.30, so five minutes away. And then top four as well.
Speaker 2Been a lot of debate about our mega boost horse.
Speaker 10Yeah, there was. Well, Dino wanted to make a late change and you overruled, so. Okay. We'll go back to it. Yeah. So we're blaming Gareth if he gets beat.
Speaker 2Yep. And we were disappointing on Cup Day when we really had to stand up and be counted for. We won on Derby Day, but we need to go on with it and we never look like it.
Speaker 10No, we didn't. I had to jump in for you, so thanks, Penn. My horse did no good. Ole go. It was sixes into 390. It was embarrassing. Ole stop. Oh, my God. Thank you. It was torture. So, yeah, I'm back on the bench now, so. Did you see Anna Murata?
Speaker 9Yeah. $3 into $1.40 in this round last year. Well found. There was a couple of Kierans like that perishing yesterday. The rest of them run through brick walls and then. Yeah. The two that I back. Yeah. Bastards. Still running.
Speaker 2Rose here. What are we expecting there tomorrow on Five Diamonds Day?
Speaker 9Mickey Gannon. How's the weather up there, Dino?
Speaker 11Yeah, weather's good. It's been a hot week. I dare say we'll get back to a good four. There's a bit of a shower, similar to Flemington's. Some showers meant to sort of hit Rose Zool on race day, but I dare say Rail True bit of rain around this week early on, so it should play very, very fair. I think Rail True normally plus lanes three plus in the straight should give us the winners there.
Speaker 9Yeah. Stedging off the fence. Away we go.
Speaker 2You must have been happy with your man there yesterday, Zach Lloyd, winning his first group one at Flemington, even though that anyone really could have read and heard a victory
Speaker 11yesterday, Dino. Yeah, Jay, you might as well put a five or I'd made an interesting contest, but yeah, what a horse. I think you see post-race, not much of her at all, but no, good to see Zach there. Good pictures post-race with his dad there and obviously David Payne. He's only got a handful of horses. Jay, he's got your favorite horse, a bank called Hoddy, but he's had a phenomenal year. He's had a phenomenal spring for 18 horses, I think, in work.
Speaker 2And why not to you too, Mickey Gannon? You're all over her. Something out of a midway. On the future show, do you remember me tipping her in the future show? You reminded me yesterday at the pub. He goes, I tipped her. Yeah. Obviously, Louis couldn't find the audio. He's been busy.
Speaker 9He's been. Yeah.
Speaker 2That's a bit harsh. You know what he said? He goes, you got nine out of 10 wrong, but you're meant to be the leader of the team. Louis, we're in the entertainment business, mate. Now, we've got a little bit of time left. We've got our weekend preview, Mega Boost Horse coming up after 9.30. So, we don't know if we've got enough time to get into the first race, which will be, of course, the hot Danish steaks with the scratching of Just Precious. Just before we go there, we start the preview for Rose Hill after 9.30. What's been your highlight of the Flemington Carnival, Mickey Gannon? It's been Roe, Willie Pike. Yeah. Did you hear Mark Hunter this morning? No. He said that if he was in Melbourne, he could win the premiership. Well. That's a big call.
Speaker 9Is this the first time he's come over here and ridden for as long as he has?
Speaker 2Oh, he did okay, didn't he, in COVID? He didn't fire in Sydney, but he had a bit of a run in Melbourne there for a while.
Speaker 9I think, yeah, it's good to see something left field. I think Pike has just done a great job. And even he's showing his character as well. Yeah, he's been terrific.
Speaker 7Benny? It's got to be the Melbourne Cup winner. Point of law. Ratings come through. 105 weight for age, G. So, he's already popped himself straight into the top couple of horses in the country.
Speaker 9How many career starts? Six? Yeah, six.
Speaker 7Crazy. Do you reckon this time
Speaker 2next year, he would have started favouring a Cox Plate?
Speaker 7Oh, there's no doubt about it.
Speaker 2Yeah, probably. He might even go to an Arc de Triomphe, listening to Kira Ma. Yeah. Yeah. It's 9.27. This is the weekend preview, all thanks to Mackers. Gareth Hall, Betty Caluzzi, Sack Tunbridge, Mickey Gannon, and Dean Watling with you. We'll have our Mega Boost horse up next here on Giddy Up.
Speaker 1Giddy Up. Giddy Up. Giddy Up. Come on, baby, just pump it.
Speaker 2This is Giddy Up, and this is the weekend preview, thanks to Mackers. Mackers run. Heat things up with Mackers Spicy McNuggets Dino. Then cool it down by dipping them into the creamy ranch sauce. That's what you've been doing for recent times as well. Of course, Dean Watling, thanks to Betsy.com.au. The Mega Boost horse, Sack Tunbridge, take it away.
Speaker 10He's live. We were tossing up between a few, but we've gone with Tempted to take out the champion sprint. It is live on the race page, not on the homepage. Log in, have a look there. You're getting $2.50. $2.50? I think the price is $1.80.
Speaker 2$2.50 now. She beat the world's greatest horse there last start. We're getting $2.50.
Speaker 10$2.50, yep. So that'll be up until, I don't know, give it half an hour or so.
Speaker 2Now, I don't know what planet I've come from, but can you please explain what the debate was regarding a Mega Boost horse?
Speaker 10Well, we were going to go Tempted, and then Dino threw up Aliana. Aliana. Yes, to go Aliana. And then G threw up Cosmic Crusader, and then Sack
Speaker 2threw the toys out of the cart. I can hear you. Well, Cosmic Crusader, Dino, has gone past Aliana like she's been standing still. They're the last couple in clashes against each other.
Speaker 11No, I can see that, G. I just thought there was. There was an angle for her Saturday. She's peaking now, deeper into the preparation. Neese is somewhat of an afterthought for him. And Chris Waller, well, he'll be wanting to get one on the board against the Ma train, G. So I thought that there's an angle there fairly high. But I'm happy to go. The coach is cool, G. I back you to the, what is it, to the dogs come home, to the sun come down, something like that. Yeah, something like that. It's all right, G, full support of the board.
Speaker 2Oh, I love you, Dino. I went to Betsy.com.au. I'm so proud of you, Dino. Now, I've lost my train of thought after all that, is it?
Speaker 5Yeah, well, you spoke for that long.
Speaker 2Now, what is our weekend preview, top four multi?
Speaker 10So it's live now. 268 people have already taken it. It's a nice price, $12.22 at the moment. It does change a little bit, but that'll be the good price for at least until the end of this segment. So four of them, Ben, you've gone race two.
Speaker 7Yep, fear not.
Speaker 10And photographed. For you, Gareth, we've gone welcome to the show for Gano and Mercy Me for Dino, all to run top four.
Speaker 2$12.22 is clearly the best value anywhere.
Speaker 10Absolutely. It was a good win last week, too. That was last Saturday. That was a good one.
Speaker 2Beautiful. Let's hope we can get the cash. We just ignore Melbourne Cup. Ignore the Cup day. That would have cost you guys a bit, wouldn't it?
Speaker 10Ask Ben. I don't know. We've got another guy in here who looks after all the numbers, but he doesn't care. He wants everyone to win. That's it. Hey, Ben.
Speaker 2Yeah, Ben, he's a legend. We'll get him into the studio. What's he think of Brayden?
Speaker 10You know what? Brayden's having three weeks off. Is he really? I don't think of that.
Speaker 2Stress leave. I just spoke to Ben.
Speaker 9He reckons he's happy to leave it open until 11. What a superstar he is.
Speaker 2He's on stress leave. So Brayden's on holidays for how long? Three weeks. So who's taking over?
Speaker 10We've got Declan on today. Young Declan. How
Speaker 2long is he going to leave this up for? Because Ben told us behind closed doors, Gareth, since I'm here, you can do whatever you want today. And I said, oh, you're the boss. So we got up to what time? Around 10 o'clock?
Speaker 10Megaboos, yeah. 10, 10.05-ish. And then the good price for the multi will stay up until the end of our segment.
Speaker 2Let's get stuck into the quality leagues at Rose Hill. And the first league is the hot Danish steaks over the 1,400 metres. Just Precious, which Dino is. This is the scratching number nine.
Speaker 10Lazura. Yes. Very short. $1.45 is right up the top there. But Geron Gong has had a little bit of support. So has Chains of Love. Cozzy winner. But yeah, chips in Lazura.
Speaker 11Dino? Yeah, we kick off with the map. There's not a whole lot of speed here. So these horses have been going around the invitation. And also before that, we had the Golden Pendant. So it's a similar horse, a similar setup. And that's why Lazura is $1.40, because she's been toweling him up. I think Geron Gong and I think Chains of Love push the button, roll across. They probably lead. Lazura lands, leaders back. That's fine. And I think off that, you probably see a horse like Tullery. So Tullery's probably fine. They're 1-1. I think Lazura turns up, wins. She's got figures on the board that none of these. can touch have all got to go to new career peaks and they're all deep into the pressurization without much upside. Chains of Love's the one that brings the upside, but that figure out of the Cozy was nowhere near good enough to win this. I thought Arabian Rose, Gano, was the one each way. You can maybe back a place, but the market's gravitated on that. Zach might be able to touch on that, but Lazura firmly on top. Arabian Rose, a place bet if you want to go that way, Gano.
Speaker 9He's nailed it now, man. That's why he's the best in the business. Arabian Rose, a place is a great bet. I think Lazura clearly wins the race. She maps to perfection. She'll get the job done, but Arabian Rose gets Ben Thompson back aboard, so that's a big tick for this galloper, and I think she'll just jump out of the ground. She runs second, Benny.
Speaker 7Yeah, I probably agree. Lazura should just be winning this. $1.45, it's not my thing taking that sort of price. I think a horse that will run top three is Jeringong. I think she brings in the second best form in behind the likely winner, and Tulariz is the one you can take on. They announced some negative gear changes for her after the acceptances were taken around 24 hours later, which.
Speaker 2You haven't put that on social media yet. It's out there.
Speaker 7Okay, no, you haven't. I might have re-shared it, but not a quote share. No. Which is, it's not ideal doing something like that, but anyway, I'm against her, and that's why she's drifted in the market, Tulariz.
Speaker 2And what about you lying on this show, Mickey Gannon? What did I lie about? Calling Dean Watling the best in the business when you know that you think you're better than him. That's true. 35 minutes past nine. Let's have a look at race number eight on the program. This is the five diamonds. It's worth $2 million, and this, Dino, five-year-old's this race. Scratch Yu Wang is out, the five. What's the market doing with bet 365 here, Zach?
Speaker 10Yeah, D'Clesi Boulevard's the favorite. We've got a boost on linebacker, if you're a light linebacker, but it's on the drift out to $7. Welcome to the show. Bit of love there in terms of the ones they've taken early. They've had a little bit on Tuxedo and also Zambardo.
Speaker 2You like one here, Mickey Gannon.
Speaker 9Yeah, I do. I think it's a really good setup for welcome to the show. Evaporate Athanatos, go for it. But a van linebacker, interesting run at 1,800 meters. I think a few of these are some sort of queries, but when it's worth a lot of money. I think there'll be a bit of speed in the race. D'Clesi Boulevard, I would love her as a horse, but she's got to be some question mark 15 to 1,800 meters as well. There's nothing really suggesting that, I don't know, looking at 2,000 meter form doesn't, previous preparations doesn't sort of fill me with a heap of confidence. So it should be thereabouts, but welcome to the show, Zil Wang. Froggy Newart jumps aboard. Luckless last time, should have finished much closer. I think he's definitely the value of play. He's the each way play. And what were we getting? $10 a week. I think that's great for the top four multi, Dino. So I'm going to tip welcome to the show on top. And I think that D'Clesi Boulevard's probably the nearest danger, Dino.
Speaker 11Yeah, I'm surprised Bangkok Hottie's not in this race as a five-year-old. She had a birthday twice, his preparation, gee, but she doesn't turn up here. We get a couple of horses, D'Clesi Boulevard.
Speaker 2Were you trying to be funny there, Dino, or what? Yeah, I wasn't. No one got it. Be careful. Well, we did get it. It wasn't very funny because we all know that she's a three-year-old. I'm thinking Dino's trying to outsmart himself. But Betsy.com.au, you wouldn't be happy with that joke, I don't reckon. Dino, anyway, move on. Well, back to the race, gee. I think it's two key chances.
Speaker 11Gano's hitting the nail on the head. D'Clesi Boulevard, welcome to the show, are the key chances. Linebacker, well, he did nothing on the clock last start that suggested he wants 800 metres. I think he's the gap in the market. He's got to drift. D'Clesi Boulevard, her career peak before this preparation was 800 metres, so I dare say she'll get it strongly. I think Tommy rode her brilliantly last start, lands off rails. Welcome to the show. Should have probably won that race. I think outside of that, a lot of these need to have a good, hard think about themselves. Zimbardo is the intriguing one outside of that, but welcome to the show and D'Clesi Boulevard on top. Benny, for me, good two-bet play.
Speaker 7There are on notice a couple of these horses. I love it. Those are the two I found as well. A good hard look at them. Welcome to the show. He is the value runner in this. He actually meets D'Clesi Boulevard. D'Clesi Boulevard, two kilos better from their last start performance, and he arguably should have gone a lot closer. He was mighty unlucky there. Gee, it would have been nice to get the double figures early. And D'Clesi Boulevard, I think she is the saver bet. Look, she does go up to the 56 and 1800 metres is some sort of query, but she's in career best formula the last couple of starts.
Speaker 2Race number 10 over the 1200 metres. Esmali comes out. It stays in Melbourne for Lindsay Park. Rosé, the 10, and Blakemore Avenue also comes out the 11. What's the market doing? The last race here with Bet365, Zach.
Speaker 10Last race? Yep. Oh, race nine.
Speaker 2Oh, sorry, race nine.
Speaker 10How we wanted to skip that.
Speaker 2Grant Burge Handicap. How could I forget over the 1100 metres? Benchmark 78. Good on you, Grant. Sorry about that. Scratch the four Nella ball. Jane Horseshoe Hills out, and Scenic Point comes out as well.
Speaker 10Yep. Mercy May 360, 375 if you logged in and see a boost. Agatha's had a little bit of support. There is one that has really good support. Zach Lloyd's ride. Show business into 480 already.
Speaker 11Dino? Yeah, we give up the speed. Scenic Point, Swordplay, they draw them wide. This is 1100 metres shoot start. They'll inject plenty of speed. Mercy May gets a gun round, lead us back here. You've got Agatha there on the rails too, and show business back last. So, good race. Swordplay's trailed up pretty well. I'm just worried. 1100 metres first up, high-pressure race with Scenic Point. And I love the second-half effort of Mercy May. Went back, had to go wide, and rattled home. So, maybe they figured out that she's a better chaser, Gano. And I think she's the rock-hard-fit third-up. Of course, you can catch a couple of these where they're probably not at their peak.
Speaker 9Yeah, it's Mercy May on top just by default here. And I think she'll continue to improve. I think she'll probably settle fifth in run, peel off, and the horse to beat. Not a huge amount of confidence, but I do like the jockey upgrade of Timmy Clark jumping aboard as well, Benny.
Speaker 7I'm pretty confident on Mercy May here. I think Swordplay comes across from 12, puts in a good bit of pressure here. Agatha might step away a little bit slowly from one and be back and buried. And that just sets up really well for Mercy May. She does bring the best form. A few of these need to come up to her level. So, pretty keen at the 350.
Speaker 2And race 10 over the 1,200 metres. I've read out the scratchings here. Zach, what's the market looking like?
Speaker 10Yep. So, lucky last, Horseshoe Hill has had a lot of support. It's two bucks, holding up the majority of the hold with us. Nitro has had a little bit of love, but, yeah, it's all the favourite.
Speaker 9Mickey Gannon? She's a good horse, Horseshoe Hill. Unfortunately, didn't get the job done for us there at Warwick Farm. Made good ground. So, it was competitive in Group 3 races. And last preparation, I think she wins. Just needs a little bit of luck, an ounce of luck on turning for home. I'd imagine she's leaders back, and I think she gets her job done, Dino.
Speaker 11Yeah, 1,200 metres suits that horse down the ground. You referenced that Bruce IM form. Well, that reads really well on Cup Day. I just thought $1.90 is probably skinny enough. Nitro backed first up. He was a horror watch. He's got a mind of his own, this galloper. But if he puts it all together, I think Rose Hill, Rail True, Speed on up front. This is his set-up to Storm down the middle. No, back to 1,200 metres. They did go to 16 last preparation. Maybe Snowden's thinking that he's a better sprinting horse like that, but I'm going to take the $5 Nitro, Benny.
Speaker 7Yeah, a bit of a boring race for me. I think Horseshoe Hill probably wins. She's definitely looking for the 1,200 metres now. If she gets clear air, I think she might be a little bit too classy. She was finishing off super last time and had a little bit of a checkered passage in the straight there at Warwick Farm. All right, then, Benny Caluzzi, your best in Sydney? I'm going to go with Mercy Me. I'm also going to go maybe a same-race multi, Lazura to win and Gerringong top three.
Speaker 2And thanks to Betsy.com.au. Dean Watling, your best in Sydney.
Speaker 11Yeah, race four, number six, Donatello. Quick back-up, just needs a little bit of luck. I think that horse will win race four. We go to the feature, race eight, the five diamonds. I think it's a strong two-bet player, the eight, DeLucci Boulevard, and also the 11, welcome to the show. And outside of that, small bets, race nine, Mercy Me, and race 10, Nitro G.
Speaker 12All right. Then, Mickey Gannon?
Speaker 9Dana, what are your thoughts on the Golden Gif and the eight there? I'm going to go Torshan. I'm going to drop in the V. What are your thoughts on that horse for the trials?
Speaker 11Yeah, Hawks are going good. It's a really, really good addition to the Golden Gif. I didn't have it, Ganno. I was with Shrudge Wire and also Silent Intent, but I can't turn you out of anything in that two-yard race. It's an absolute cracker.
Speaker 9Yeah, I was going to have a bet on it, Gareth. I thought that his trials were enormous. Gets the inside draw, and around that $10 mark, I think, bet $365. I think that's a good bet. So, look, most of these horses are on debut, and those horses have been around. I think they're much chopped. So, one of the better bets today on debut, which is quite rogue, but we'll do that anyway. And welcome to the show each way, race eight, number 11.
Speaker 2All right, then. Give us a spell podcast. What's your best there in Sydney this weekend, Zachy boy?
Speaker 10Like Donatello, I've actually backed one at odds in the last against Horseshoe Hill, and that's Nullarboard Jane.
Speaker 2All right, then. Plenty of text messages coming through on the Gareth's Horse Now text line. Hunter, Gareth is maligned for the Launceston plover incident. If you don't know that incident, Mark, being the veteran that he is, got spooked by some plovers and then ran away and then tore his thigh off the bone. No. Yeah. So, just wondering if any of the other experts from the weekend preview team have had a run-in with birds on their journey. Dino's had a few. Yeah, but type of birds. Yeah, that's from Brad from Hobart. Oh, boy. Not really? Oh, a couple of magpie swoopings. I got swooped today. Yeah. I have a phobia of birds.
Speaker 9You had one lob in the house yesterday.
Speaker 2We had one lobbed in the house, and then we've got these two massive magpies out the backyard, and then Bobby's been scaring them anyway. They got revenge today. I went out to give him a run around in the backyard, and they started to swoop. Do you cop the magpies in the northern beaches? Absolutely. Yeah. I hate birds. I've got a proper phobia of birds. Have you really? Yeah. I hate them so much. A few other questions coming through. Ben's saying taking $1.40 is not his thing. is like Gareth saying he doesn't like Macca's spicy McNuggets. Nuggets are the life. I'll cop that.
Speaker 7I did have the spicy nuggets the other day. Very good. And let's be honest, I've taken $1.40 before. Yes, yes, yes.
Speaker 2The kiss of death. You killed Cain Rising. She's alibi. Now tempted. Stop picking the odds on favorites and give us something with a bit of value. That's from Lou. Yeah, all right. Then you make a good point, Lou. Only you guys can get Cain Rising. She's alibi. Now possibly tempted beaten with the boost. Possibly can't happen three times.
Speaker 9We got Lazura 450 the other week. Gee, desperately need Jolly Star to run a hole, so he's doing his best.
Speaker 7These people on the text line just love to blame someone. Yeah, that's all right. I love this one.
Speaker 2The forecast is way off. Summer rain overnight, then a tinkle in the morning. No way it's worse than a soft five. That's from God. That's from God. 45 minutes past nine. She's texting me in. 290, yeah. We'll take a break. We'll come back and have a look at this magical card at Flemington for Champions. We'll see you on Wednesday. We'll try and win 100,000. If I don't screenshot it, I can't find it. Is there any tips for me there? You know, so like once you put in your selections and then you think, geez, did I have that horse or not? Pretty sure you just go back to it. You just go back to the- Oh, well, I don't know how to do that. Well, what is it? Yesterday, the best thing, you just go back to the Six Horse Challenge selection. Where can you find it? But because it's not on the homepage because it's taken down after the Six Horse Challenge starts. I don't know. After it starts, you might be in trouble. Yes, that's what I mean. So yeah, yeah. Just screenshot it. Yeah, you've got to screenshot it. I'm sure there is a spot. Something to work on. I'll talk to the IT department. No, because you can go to your emails and click on the Six Horse Challenge and it comes up. Right. But like I always forget to screenshot it. Well, 50 customers got four from Six.
Speaker 10Did they? That was the fastest yesterday. So no one's done too well. And to be honest, I think tomorrow is the last one until autumn.
Speaker 7Is it really?
Speaker 10Mm-hmm. I'm going to have to talk to Ben about that. Not my call. Not my call. My mum loves that.
Speaker 7Can I just say, how has the two-year-old race at Rose Hill been included in the Six Horse Oh, don't get me started.
Speaker 10We have our friend Alex who didn't want to include Autumn Glow's race in there because he said it was going to be a Five Horse Challenge. Six Horse is a field. Oh, that's fair enough.
Speaker 2I reckon give us a challenge. You don't want to. It's hard enough as it is, Gareth. Give us a freebie. The Six Horse Challenge is a lot of fun. It's free to play. I agree. And there's a chance you could win $100,000. My luck, when I get six right, there's 30 people that get six right as well. $8.50. Yes. How's our Megaboost going? It is tempted.
Speaker 10Yeah. We are at 2,000 customers are on. That's up for another 15 minutes. Yeah. Have to go to the race page. Multi's going well too.
Speaker 2Yeah. The Multi will get up this week. I reckon. Yeah. Back to back Saturdays.
Speaker 10Optimistic. 1,900. There's 1,900. I think everyone just takes them both. They take Megaboost.
Speaker 2I'm going to take a photograph of if we get up this week. Oh, that's good for me. Did you laugh at that one, Dino, or did you quite get it? No, I wasn't listening. You there, Dino? Sorry, G. Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Flemington Race 6 is the first of the group ones. It's the champion sprint. This is our Mega Boost horse in Tempted. We're getting $2.50 up until 5 past 10.
Speaker 10Yeah, okay. We'll do that. Yep. 5 past 10. $1.85 is the real price. You're getting $2.50 until then. The others that they have backed is Headwall. Good go at that at around the $9 and $10 mark. And also they've had some on Cabalas, but majority is for Tempted.
Speaker 2All right then. You can kick off here, Benny Caluzzi.
Speaker 7Yep. So quick word on the track conditions, Jay. We could have up to 32 kilometer winds tomorrow, southwesterly. Which is across. Which is across them down the straight. Yeah. And it's a big advantage for leaders in the circle races. Okay. It also means that wide barriers are at an advantage down the straight. So I think that suits Tempted really, really well. A lot of these will just follow Marzu, clump towards the outside. The race will develop on the outside. I think she gets her chance. I think she wins. I think she'll be ridden a little bit cooler than she was in the Everest. And I think that sees, uh, I think that. Makes us see the best of her. So I think she'll, I think she'll beat Jolie Star and head wall home easier than she did in the Everest, to be honest.
Speaker 2Heavy track. She hasn't seen it, but she's trailed in it well. So it shouldn't be a problem.
Speaker 7Surely. I'm holding out hope. It's only a six or seven at worst.
Speaker 2Yes. Um, Mickey Gannon.
Speaker 9I think the price differential between Jolie Star and Tempted's probably too big.
Speaker 2Yeah. What about a heavy track for Jolie Star? Is that any concern?
Speaker 9I'd say they're both of each. Of equal concern because like what form does Tempted have on a heavy track? Well, she hasn't seen a heavy track. So it's the unknown. Exactly right. So look, beaten 0.6 in an Everest. I don't think there obviously should be as big a difference. So does that mean that Tempted's the wrong price? Yeah, it probably should be around $2 and Jolie. Oh, she's $2.50 for the next. Oh, there you go. Away you go punters. Do you think, and Jolie Star should be a little bit closer other than that. I think that as to Benny's point, they're both playing in a beautiful spot. I don't know what baits them. Like Hedwell, he's flying, but he's sort of awkwardly drawn. He's going to need like a sort of a W. Pike, Ray Magneria sort of ride there. Skybird needs it absolutely bottomless. And then she's drawn barrier one. So good luck from there. Three chances surely. Point Barrow. Like it's just, I think it's just a clear race in two. And if Tempted doesn't quite handle the Flemington straight, Jolie Star wins. As simple as that.
Speaker 2Gigi Kick says hello. No, hi. Heavy track. How you going mate? Bar plates is a terrible gear change.
Speaker 9He's not going as well, unfortunately. Okay. As he was last, last year.
Speaker 2I might have some big news next week. I've been able to get a deal done and I'm pretty happy, um, regarding our slot for the meteorite. I don't know if this horse is running or not in the VRC champion sprint. He might be, um, it'd be hard to beat. Why wouldn't he be running? He is running. Yeah. But I can't give it the name away just yet. Um, cause I don't know if I'm allowed to or not, but I can't help myself. I, I can't keep secrets. Or five horses. Shut up, Gareth. There's a lot of men in this race.
Speaker 11Dino? Yeah, I think Gano's hit the nail on the head. Like, you've got to strip her back. I know I have a love affair with Tempted, but I don't think one should be $1.80. One should be $5. You referenced the Everest. She was enormous, but so was Jolie Starr. And Jolie Starr was second up in an Everest. Tempted had a run advantage on her. And then you referenced down the straight. She won a new marker down the straight. Tempted's never even seen her. I don't even know if she's trawled down it. So I think there's enough of a query there. The gap between, I think the gates are a big tick. They'll run one, two. I think you get $4 around that price. Same race multi. I'll be having that. But I think the weather is dependent on the bet, G. If it's a good fall, I think you can chime into the $5 Jolie Starr. If it gets wet, I think Tempted's clearly the better wet tracker. It'll get wet, Dino.
Speaker 2It'll get wet.
Speaker 11Well, if it is, I think Tempted wins then because she's got that quick frequency stride. She's a lightly framed thing. She skips across it. I think compared to the two, she's much better as a wet tracker. So maybe the play is the same race. Multi or them top two, boys. Tags is a little bit worried. He's got Jolie Starr.
Speaker 2Last league of his multi to run. A little bit worried.
Speaker 7Just to run a place.
Speaker 2Should hear him.
Speaker 7Yeah. Just to run a place. He's so nervous.
Speaker 2He is a jinx. He's so nervous. It is a jinx if she gets beat into a place. 54 minutes past nine. We'll take a break. We'll come back with plenty more. This is the weekend preview as we preview Champions Day at Flemington. It's 56 minutes past nine. So the Mega Boost Force has only got five or so minutes and that is Tempted getting $2.50 for her. And it's going to be a heavy track after Dino realized that it's going to be a softer, heavy track. He says she's a $1.40 chance basically because of her stride of her leg. Length, when he analyzed the data there. The stride of her length. The length of her stride. What? Yeah, what the hell? I'll just say it's been a long week.
Speaker 5Yeah, well, you spoke for that long and I lost track of what you were talking about.
Speaker 2So yeah, that's a great bet, $2.50.
Speaker 10Yep, up for whatever, another five or 10 minutes.
Speaker 2Yeah. And then in the Champions Sprint as well, there's a few questions coming through. Dino, could you back Marzu the plate? He's on a heavy track.
Speaker 11Yeah, potentially. He's going to be out in front. No trouble up front there. The rail's out. So he's going to probably get to the best lanes where he wants to be. I could see a world in which he does that and he's with Ma now, so he can do no wrong, G. Yeah, that's a very good point you make.
Speaker 2Skybird, you're taking her on from gate one despite the track conditions there, Mickey Gannon?
Speaker 9Yeah, it's just a horrible place to be. I think Marzu can run a place if it's a heavy nine. Even money top six. Is that? That's a good one. Don't, don't, don't, don't do that. Might be hard to beat in a meteorite, Marzu.
Speaker 2Anyway, it's 9.58, time for a quick break. There it is. Got him. On the other side of it, we'll come back and continue our preview of Champions Day. It is right on 10 o'clock. This is the weekend preview, thanks to Macca's. Macca's run. Heat things up with Macca's spicy McNuggets. Stop it. Stop it. i love it the six horse challenge i found what to do and we've got a lot of our listeners that are texting to help me out and i appreciate you all so you go to you go to your you log into your account and then you click on racing and then you scroll across to free games there we go and then you can't miss it so now you've got to win i've gone too darn discreet you're gonna tell everyone
Speaker 10so everyone's gonna follow yours in and well they probably won't that's the point oh yeah true exo velocity you're just making
Speaker 2them up yeah tempted lazura de cleci boulevard and cosmic crusader i haven't really like if if i get six don't take any of those yeah a few more people will be getting six surely um let's have a look at race number seven on the program which is the champion's mile over the 1600 meters and when they opened her up at a dollar 30 there after the final field sack i thought that was terrific value
Speaker 10you did yeah so we that's the size we did dollar 30 um look there's not a lot of people that are going to be able to do that so we're going to do that there's not a lot of people that are going to do that so we're going to do that a hell of a lot i can give you obviously they've put it's in a lot of multis and stuff they're chipping away at tom kitten and lindemann but one at odds to run a hole is another wheel
Speaker 7benny cluzy yeah i think she's like a dollar 10 chance to be fair autumn glow this is um this looks point and shoot she rolls forward from barrier two should be an on speed sort of advantage and she's still only fourth up so she should be peaking for this i think if there is a runner that can fill up placing it's buckaroo who was awesome last time around in that crystal mile and he doesn't mind the sting out of the track so buckaroo to run a place but autumn glow if you can get a dollar 30 at any stage tell you what it's probably value i like
Speaker 2this market with bet 365 zach you can have four dollars tom kitten you
Speaker 10can do betting without
Speaker 2like so how do you do that so you just go to
Speaker 10more markets on there and like which is next to exotics and stuff you can do betting without so tom kitten lindemann um buckaroo you can take 350 they're boosted tom kitten just to four bucks so that's without autumn
Speaker 2what's buckaroo uh
Speaker 10350 okay you could have
Speaker 2boosted that almost with the mega boost so make a little bit different
Speaker 10we can swap around these boots if you want a bit of buckaroo too late now no i mean just a no yeah i'd like that yeah we can swap tom kitten out for the 350 or four and make that buckaroo for sure
Speaker 2i think tom kitten beats home buckaroo doesn't he mickey gannon i agree with you gareth
Speaker 9i think tom kitten lindemann no love right bet well what's he doing down here he
Speaker 2hates melbourne as much as what's
Speaker 9going on yeah um well no no thanks leave me out lindemann okay cannot trust i think tom kitten autumn glow out i think tom kitten dino is a great uh without autumn glow bet
Speaker 11yep i don't mind it i'll go lindemann a place i know he doesn't like melbourne that's caulfield he's had one run for flemington for a second so he just doesn't like that awkward caulfield track he likes an elongated flemington and dino please
Speaker 2that's unbelievable yes you've been in fine you like that g can you give me the definition of
Speaker 9elongated d yeah
Speaker 2no i can't anyway what were you saying dino oh well yeah i just sort of put a line through lindemann
Speaker 11caulfield but flemington should be fine as long as the rain isn't too heavy that's a big watch for him but i think autumn glow benny mentioned i think this is um she'll start shorter um come race day at all 22 i know but i think she'll start at all 10 can't wait to see her down flemington yeah
Speaker 2everyone giving their tip we should have made her i did as well it doesn't i don't think it's a word we can't spell it um let's move on now to the champion stakes this is nearly my favorite race of the day it's sort of like a um take two of the cox plate without the three-year-olds and there's no scratchings just yet what's the market doing yeah
Speaker 10so they backed aliena it is 260 now 275 with a boost that's the one they took they took uh three dollars 290 so now 260 uh cosmic crusaders staying firm around that 320 mark but i can tell you there's been a lot of bets just for the place so delius
Speaker 2but the blink is on
Speaker 10just to run a hole
Speaker 2please explain why cosmic crusader isn't favorite it can only be the barrier yeah but that's probably a great barrier for not a but he doesn't have to do any work still and he'd prefer to be a six or seven yeah i know but he'll flash down the outside i
Speaker 7think if if this wind does get up it might make it a little bit more difficult to come from a long way so you're telling me that
Speaker 2i should be backing light infantry man waiting for it all day you can have something small on him yeah i reckon i was only going to make him my top four now that would take some kahunas but i did it in the end that would just be i'm sick of being abused but it's a better setup
Speaker 7for him and i don't think they're going to go as fast as the cox plate so that will give him more of a chance turnbull stakes type of
Speaker 2i reckon scenario there run fourth yeah i hope he does run
Speaker 7fifth um so who are you tipping look i can understand why aliana's favorite i can't understand why she's two dollars sixty though i don't want to back any horse with the two next to the name in this race if i had to have an on top selection right now and i do it is cosmic crusader i think it is a little bit track dependent and how this wind is sort of playing but he's been dominant the last couple so i'm backing cosmic crusader if it wasn't too wet i think birdman is a little bit of value but i'm with cosmic crusader i just thought aliana is a touch short dino
Speaker 11yeah well i think the camp's gonna have to be chips in everything aliana like she doesn't win this race she doesn't want to race all preparation so i think the two key changes are the map and the speed so aliana had to get dictated to last start she's got tactical versatility against cosmic crusader who probably can't do anything from that draw i think she finds the one one here and she's going to be probably in front two to three to four lengths on cosmic crusader if you do that last start she wins that race so i think that's the key difference and like i mentioned if it is wet as well we know she loves the mud so i can see a tough gritty on speed effort and cosmic crusader flashing late but not getting there boys
Speaker 9mickey gannon so i was just reading a text line um i i think the hole in the market is light infantry around the place okay no you're serious because you're a good judge that's why well if we get to a heavy track yeah and he's rolling out in front it'll be very very hard to to hatch with a southerly wind as ben you know quite eloquently spoke to crusader should be favorite in this race if you thank you no worries gary and um aliana i'm a biggest fan that two of his 50s outrageous she probably comes out and wins so light infantry in the place will be a bit
Speaker 2if cosmic crusader was mcdonald and waller and aliana was leaking pie dollar 80 cosmic crusader yeah
Speaker 7yeah and if lake was uh aliana she might have two corfield cups to her name i think i know what
Speaker 2i'm so confused and a
Speaker 7melbourne cup okay that's a good
Speaker 2point you make yeah i think she would have won
Speaker 7the corfield cup the last two years and i think it's just
Speaker 2been such a man she didn't even stay at 2000 let alone 2400 she she
Speaker 7stayed 2005 it was just a brutal tempo yeah she's unbeaten at 2400 what do you mean what do you mean she doesn't run 2400 meters
Speaker 2that's a classic the derby and a
Speaker 7tanker beating dubai on her
Speaker 2yeah please like that come on slowly run right it's a it was a fast run race i forgot about that but anyway she wasn't she like cosmic crusader went straight past her twice over two he could be the best horse in the country though yeah i think he is yeah yeah she should take
Speaker 9him on in perth yeah chips in that dino has on aliana like how can she go any better than what she did in the cox
Speaker 11well i think they've been chasing the tail somewhat with her um you referenced so we go back to the cox play i think the first four in running uh we're all on somewhat i think he was on a backup i think they will suit us and george as well so a couple of horses i just think she got caught out maybe fitness wise brutal tempo probably wasn't ready for that uh where cosmic crusader he was rock hard fitted quick backup off a 2400 meter off another race so i'm just thinking she cannot be going any better in this race i agree the price is wrong he should be favorite and we should be trying me into her but um maybe they'll flip on race day g do you think the price will change you think she'll start at my
Speaker 2maybe the mcdonald factor that she starts favorite but to say that she might have needed the run on cox plate day it was the cox plate dino i think chris muller would have her
Speaker 11ready to go no i wasn't suggesting that i was suggesting he came off a quick backup sixth run in the preparation and it was a strong run in cox plate as we'll ever see um i just think he had the better setup going into a cox plate when it was run like that if you run it slower um maybe he's not as brilliant over the top and then we get to this race and it's probably not going to be run like that so yeah that's just my thinking i think
Speaker 9they're just hoping with sir delius with the blinkers on and i think he's birdman of genuine risk on a yeah i don't think yeah so all of a sudden light infantryman benny's looks a good bet i don't mind it honestly i ain't got a minute you've come around no i do think i do think i was
Speaker 7sort of i should have made my top four i should have made him my top four can we can we do a um
Speaker 10secondary well we're doing giddy up giddy up saturday man we
Speaker 7can put do you think he leads land legend or do you think he lets him cross him you know what if i
Speaker 2was like land legend just stop being a nuisance get out of my row but he might be able to get to the front without using too many petrol tickets this time around because those three-year-olds did have to make him work a little bit with their early pace but it's going to be a great race what do we get for top four for light infantryman there zach just out of interest
Speaker 10for light infantryman $3 $4.60
Speaker 2to run a
Speaker 10hole, $3
Speaker 2You might should give us $4.60 top four Race 9 is the Whirlpool Grand Handicap over 1,100 metres, scratch the 3 15, 20 What are we doing here with the market
Speaker 10Zach? Yeah, not much going on, educated heads the field at $5 and then you've got Torsheen around the nines, but yeah, they haven't really had a go at anything really Electric Elvis, tiny firm
Speaker 7Alright then, Benny Clousey Yeah, I like that form line of two back at Seymour, where Educated and Electric Elvis ran the 1-2 Educated hasn't run since, but Electric Elvis has, and won He's a very good heavy trucker, he draws wide, gets D-lane on late in the day, Reece Goodwin, I think $11 represents a bit of value, but Educated did sit 3 and 4 wide in that race and still beat him, so she is the testing material and she probably has to be in my top two as well Mickey Gannon?
Speaker 9Yeah, completely agree with Benny's sentiments there, I'll be backing Electric Elvis if we get to a soft 7 or worse, I think
Speaker 2Reece Goodwin declared it to us at dinner there the other night. I think he's a good bet.
Speaker 9Don't put words
Speaker 2in, I didn't put words into his mouth then, did I? Oh, I think he did.
Speaker 9Maybe, he was confident He was confident. Mark Hunter's tipping it on top. Oh well Might as well just end the show then I think Electric Elvis I think Electric Elvis is definitely over, and probably drawn outside of Educated as well is going to be an advantage, sort of a little bit more covering. Imagine Educated's leading, Benny?
Speaker 7I would think so, yeah
Speaker 9So, might be a little bit exposed to the wind, Electric Elvis, Dino, for me
Speaker 11Yep, they're both prices you can back so one's 5, one's 10, why not back them both that's what I'll be doing. I think they're the clear standouts in the last, they're drawn out, everything that Boyd's mentioned, and I think it's a Tommy
Speaker 2two-bet play. I love a Tommy two-bet play from you, Dino. 12 minutes past 10, this is the Giddy Up Weekend Preview, thanks to Macca's. Macca's run, heat things up with Macca's Spicy McNuggets What do they tell, like, I've had my, like, I love the Spicy McNuggets. They're good, they're just
Speaker 7the standard nuggets with the heat. Do you have the creamy sauce? Absolutely, I had the creamy ranch sauce Beautiful. Time for a
Speaker 2break on the other side of it, we'll get we'll get our best bets at Melbourne, at Flemington, Champions Day, yes Don't go anywhere, still plenty more to come Join the conversation, texted
Speaker 1us on 0-4-double-9-7-3-6 7-3-6 Live across Australia, this is Giddy Up with Gareth Hall Welcome back to Giddy Up
Speaker 2This is the Weekend Preview, thanks to Macca's. Macca's run, heat things up with Macca's Spicy McNuggets, then cool it down with dipping them in the creamy ranch sauce. We might, do you know what we're going to do next week? I'm going to get some spicy McNuggets and the creamy ranch sauce for you, Dino, and you can give us a taste test live on air I'll have to Uber eat it too I'll have to Uber I'll have to Uber each to your house of course, wherever you may live, somewhere in somewhere in New South Wales Zach Lloyd's balcony You still live with your mum and dad, don't you, at 31 years of age Oh, please He's 29 28 I've never lived it over the last 10 years Don't lie, it's sort of like, you know, wedding crashes, you're like, meatloaf, we'll farrel Um, what are we up to? Your best bets thanks to Betsy.com.au, Dino at Flemington on Champions Day
Speaker 11please Yeah, it's a really good meeting, G Plenty of bets to have I think race three, number four, pinhole is a special in the Queen Elizabeth State, outside of that
Speaker 2On a heavy and slow track, no concerns?
Speaker 11Obviously not Nah, that'll also be fine, G, I think it and also King Pedro, they'll fight it out against defiantly, and outside of that I really like race eight, number ten Eliana, but I think the general consensus is, wait till Saturday, you'll probably get better than $2.60
Speaker 13You hungry? Hey, Ma!
Speaker 11Can we get some meatloaf?
Speaker 2That's Dino Hello, Mrs. Watling, what about you, Benny Caluzzi, your best?
Speaker 7Yeah, well, my top four horses got to go in, that is race two number two, fear not, I reckon he might be too classy for them. I agree with Dino, pinhole and King Pedro to fight that race out race three, defiantly, I think he's I don't think he's a stayer with a turn of foot, and that's what you need to be in Australia Race five, number five, too darn discreet, seven kilo weight swing on Soverato, can win the Matriarch, and tempted in the sprint
Speaker 9Mickey Gannon. Race two, number two, fear not, I would agree with the boys, I'm taking them on race three, number one, defiantly, they'll learn their lesson. At some stage at some stage, this horse will be six in front. A couple of prominent jockeys
Speaker 2are saying, Gareth, shut up, give it a rest, you've got no idea, they're just slow horses, Kizlia and those type of horses
Speaker 9Good luck to them I guess we'll find out at the beauty of it 1:50pm we'll find out If defiantly's quick enough But the thing is, like, you don't necessarily have to lead after 400 metres, you can make a mid-race move and start to build in the race, like we just go that slow.
Speaker 7This race, the QE has been a great race for international Australia with the plan as well, think Solcombe think Francis of Assisi winning by 10
Speaker 9So happy to take the $4, $85 that is available there, and if we get to a heavy deck, or even a soft seven, I think I said soft seven, or worse, electric golf or something like that in the last grade actually
Speaker 2Well, we'll get the chance to see if they're serious or not, the Irish because I'm pretty sure that the jock Dylan Brown McNonickle McMonickle, I love his name What? He won't be mucking around
Speaker 9DBM He will not be mucking, there's not a chance that they're not going to set this thing alight at some stage
Speaker 2What about you Zach, have you had a best bet?
Speaker 10I like defiantly as well, happy to take the $4.85 bucks there and then, yeah, just tempted towards the end of the game
Speaker 2Alright then Now we've got plenty of questions coming through
Speaker 7Can I just get the boys thoughts, Sydney boys especially Viviere at 2,000 metres on a wet track in the main trail
Speaker 9She's airborne I really want to back her The only thing is I just want to see how the track's playing. She's drawn one Yeah, she's drawn one. That's a little bit scary so we'll just wait and see at this stage
Speaker 2Plenty of text messages coming through, Paulie Sebastiani always helping me out Guys, last time Sir Delia started this price he romped in the Queen Elizabeth I think blinker's first time be very very wary, that's from Winkus There you go
Speaker 9Probably needs to improve how far, Benny off last night. He has to improve
Speaker 7six lengths, five lengths probably and he was $6 in that race because Autumn Glow was in it, I don't think it's a that's not the train of thought you should be using just because it's a big price, he wins
Speaker 2Yep. How do I have a system 2-3 with Bet365 It's pretty easy, you have your doubles and your trebles.
Speaker 10Correct, you just put it on your bet slip and it says there's a drop down menu and you can just choose it.
Speaker 2And can we call it run a place and not run a hole? Where the hell does that come from?
Speaker 10Run a place Just call it whatever you want. Yeah Come second or third.
Speaker 2Hi Gareth, you guys are not only informant, even wise, but you are funnier than Kramer on Seinfeld You give an 80 year old successful punter a great start to the day, go tempter Good on you, Graeme from Sunny Geelong Bloody legend Hey G-Man, the boys, are you guys confident that Cosmic Crusader can back it up and win again? Not a lot smoking about this week Feels that he's going under the radar Well I don't know if he's going under the radar I think he'll be very hard to beat, in fact Bob Peters told me there yesterday that he probably goes better backing up week in, week out He's disappointed he couldn't find a race for him on Derby Day.
Speaker 9Did you see the work he's been doing? I'm inclined about that doing 60k an hour, he's humming
Speaker 2Hi Gareth, Cosmic the best horse in the country, did someone say that? Dean? Best horse in the country by a mile on the cup
Speaker 7That's from this year Autumn Glow's number one in the country right now
Speaker 2Yeah I think so, who would be your top three horses? It'd be Autumn Glow, Tempted maybe Point of Law over Cosmic Crusader
Speaker 7She's alibi, no spot in the top five for you Oh yes, maybe that's a good point
Speaker 9I know she's been unlucky You've still got to win horse races
Speaker 7Tempted? She's still in the top four
Speaker 9If Tempted comes out and blows them away then she's got a seat at the table
Speaker 2Well she has to be number two doesn't she, Tempted? Because she did beat the best horse in the world I think the mare's the one to She's the best sprinter, the mare's the one to right now And then she's alibi or Point of Law or
Speaker 9Cosmic Crusader Question, who will be the best horse come Autumn? And why won't it be Point of Law? James J Braddock The best horse come Autumn
Speaker 2will be Tempted still and Autumn Glow Point of Law for me You reckon, surpass Point of Law, I mean surpass Autumn Glow
Speaker 7He's just got to carry another five or six kilos on his back come the weight for age races but I think he'll handle that
Speaker 2What do you think, Dino?
Speaker 11I think it's a lottery Cosmic Crusader's got a question there I think that horse can be and maybe the next episode turns out and becomes the best horse in the country
Speaker 7There's only one horse in the country
Speaker 11right now that's
Speaker 7There's only one horse in the country right now that's starting a dollar fifteen in a group one So I think that settles it
Speaker 2So right now, without thinking too much, your top three horses in the country, Autumn Glow Tempted, she's alibi for mine I will go
Speaker 7Autumn Glow Autumn Glow Tempted and then Point of Law, same as Benny
Speaker 9Autumn Glow, Tempted, Point of Law
Speaker 11Dino? Yeah, I'll change out Point of Law with
Speaker 2Cosmic Crusader Roger V Beattie, who wins boys? I think Beattie will beat Roger, that's in WA
Speaker 3And here comes Roger and is going to give them a good rogering first up
Speaker 2Yes, yes - It is a great race. - It is a great race. Can you ask the team at Virto in the last race that Flemington has any chance of too much weight. I think the rain's more of a worry than the weight, isn't it, Mickey Gannon?
Speaker 9I'm just having a look here. You get three kilos off for Holly, but yeah, best stuff's all on good tracks.
Speaker 7I see Gator likes Verdot, so. Oh, there's some soft seven form.
Speaker 9Good judge. Gee, there's some soft seven form there that's not too bad, actually. It's a lot of weight.
Speaker 2Yeah. Gee, come on, why is Waller so protected on this show? When are you all going to have a set of kahunas? Eliana's the worst placed horse in the country. She's a stake. Chris Waller needs to be held accountable. It's a disgrace. She's been kept up 2,000 meters. That's from one of our listeners. Part of me agrees with that. I think so. Well, there's not many options.
Speaker 9How many 24, 30, 200 meter races, group one races do we have?
Speaker 2Morning, Gareth. Surely Sydney race four tomorrow, they put a purple cap on Donatello and a red cap on Michelangelo.
Speaker 9That's so good. Give that man a go. That wins the nuggets. That's good. Send him some nuggets, Paulie.
Speaker 2We've got a few more text messages coming through. They probably do know more, Gareth, great host, but leave the tips to the guests. That's from Malta. Take that on board. I get some nuggets too. And some sauce. Yeah, yeah. One model only has six millimeters tomorrow done by 1 p.m. Doubt it'll be heavy. It's pretty windy. What else have we got here? Plenty of text messages coming through. Hi, Gareth. Love your work with tags yesterday. Need to hear more of him. You should get him on and double up with Louis Clifton. Yes, I like the way you think. Is that from Louis? Yeah. I fell for tags.
Speaker 7You tipped Illy Ivey at 30 to 1, I think, on Cup Day, and it should have won.
Speaker 2Yeah, it should have won. But it had its opportunity, didn't it? Oh, it did. The other thing kicked back, laid out a bit. G'day, G-Spot. When do you boys get on the beers? G-Spot's good. When do you boys get on the beers, who claims to be the best tipster? What are you laughing at, Zach? Gareth. So good.
Speaker 9Yeah, Gareth. Yeah.
Speaker 2100%. If you don't believe, then you shouldn't really lie. Who does? Everyone thinks they're the best tipster. Yeah. I'll give you my opinion who I reckon is the best tipster. I might. No, I won't. St. Gothard, the next episode won't be around long enough to become the best horses. Gareth, shout out to Pat Kearney, race four, training well, go Crips for the Faithful Blue Baggers. That's from Kazza. Oh, yeah. That ready? Mark Hunter finally tips Cosmic Crusader, time to jump off. Big fan of Mark there. Been on Eliana all prepped, but jumping off this week and going back to Cosmic Crusader, am I crazy? No, you're right on the money, Jared. Well done. That is it for the weekend preview. It's been a lot of fun. I can see things up with Mac and Spice, eat me nuggets, then cool it down by dipping them into the creamy ranch sauce. One of my mates just texted and said, "Gareth, I just finished a meeting. Can you hang on for a minute or so so I get the best prize for the weekend preview, top four multi?" Because as soon as we end the weekend preview, it comes down, doesn't it?
Speaker 10It's over 10:30. It'll give it five minutes.
Speaker 2Oh, 10:30. Give it five minutes. Yeah. Just having a look at it now. How many have we got on it? 2,600. Beautiful. So fear not, photograph, welcome to the show, and mercy me. Have a great day, Mickey Gannon. What are you up to? What did you do today? I've got lunch for you if you want to come. Oh, beautiful. Yeah. Benny Caluzzi, great to see you. You are healthy when it matters most. Thanks, mate. I'm back. Zachy Tunbridge, you enjoyed Derby Day?
Speaker 10I did enjoy Derby Day. Yes. Oh, you enjoyed Champions Day? I will enjoy Champions Day tomorrow.
Speaker 2Thanks, Gareth. And Dino, why didn't you come to Melbourne?
Speaker 11Gee, I had to put my big boy pants on and make sure I get all my formal and all my work done. And you know what I'm like, gee, that rubber arm comes out every time I see you, so I've had to stay away.
Speaker 2Yeah. It's a good point you make. Yes. Yes. I was disappointed, Dino. If you want to be where it happens, you've got to be in Melbourne during Cup Week, not Five Diamonds Day at Randwick, but thanks to Betsy.com.au. And you're on Sky Racing on Saturday mornings these days, aren't you?
Speaker 11Yeah. You can see my face on there, gee, around 10:20, you can jump on and look at that. But I didn't go to Melbourne, gee, but at least I turned up for the Melbourne Cup preview somewhere. Yes. Yes.
Speaker 2That's a good point. Good on you, boys. Thanks for that. That is the weekend preview. Thanks for your input with the text message on the Garrett's Horse & Hound text line. Zach says he's going to leave up the weekend preview top four multi with the boost price until 10:30. Yep.
Speaker 10Couple of minutes. Yeah. Then we'll go back down to about 10 bucks.
Speaker 2Straight after our next break, we've got Bag of Tips. You got a winner for us today, Mickey Gannon?
Speaker 10No, I don't.
Speaker 2Sorry. Okay. Benny wouldn't have won. Dino? Warrnable. He's gone. So we'll find you a winner with Bag of Tips. And then we've got our Ascot preview with Terry Layton and Peter Antonis. Heath Pope, Lincoln Moore, Scotty Amor, Dean Evans from Winning Edge Investments, and Jane Ivor with her best in New Zealand. So there's still plenty more to come on Giddy Up on this Friday. Speaker 2Up, 34 minutes past 10. Always great to catch up with the most famous Buick. Andy Buick from NZB joins us here on Giddy Up on this Friday morning. Hello to you, Andy. Hi, Gareth. How are you, mate? How are you going, mate? How is New Zealand treating you? You arrived here for a little bit of a working holiday, I reckon, and now there's no way you're leaving New Zealand. I love it, Gareth.
Speaker 14It's been very good to me. And yeah, a lovely sunny day here down in Matamata inspecting two-year-olds coming into the sale. So, yeah, good.
Speaker 2The big question is, and this is from someone, Chiddick, someone, he wants to know, have you found love yet, Andy?
Speaker 14Not quite, Gareth. No. It's actually George's birthday on Saturday, like he had.
Speaker 2I know, George. Has he found love?
Speaker 14That's what the rumour tells me, yeah.
Speaker 2Okay. Well, like, he's one of the. Like, he was probably the most eligible. He was the most eligible bachelor in racing, George Chiddick. Yeah, wasn't he just? Yeah. So, is she an Australian, New Zealand girl? Can you reveal any details?
Speaker 14I think she's Kiwi. She's a lovely girl. He's done bloody well there. He's probably punching there.
Speaker 2There you go. You'd be a little bit disappointed because then who are you going to hang out with now since George has left you? Yeah. Yeah. No. Good question. What about the ready-to-run sales? They're not far away, mate. I reckon they're getting bigger and better each and every year. Yeah. It's outstanding.
Speaker 14We've been on the road all week. looking at these two-year-olds and uh it should be another blockbuster sale we're looking forward to it we're only a fortnight away or so so uh now we're in good good shape and uh they do so well and uh i guess the proof is in the pudding here only yesterday with sulec winning for for um uh dob sutton and raquel that was huge i mean he was uh ready to run uh graduate so uh just keeps producing gareth you know dom sutton's
Speaker 2had a great record at this ready to run sale he was a young trainer trying to make a splash and he needed to and him trying to get an immediate impact really so he went to the ready to run sale he purchased sulec but before that feroce that won him a big group one to put him on the map basically so it's been a successful sale especially the last five to six years you just have to have a look at a few of those horses that have come through the sale char wolf golden 60 mr brightside warmonger just to name a few um lucky swayness i reckon was out of this sale as well so it's a it's a good horse's sale and as you well know being from the uk of course the ready to run sales are probably a little bit bigger in that part of the world compared to the southern hemisphere but your sale at nzb definitely leads the way in this part of the world regarding the breeze up sales well it will
Speaker 14stack up with any any breeze up sale whether that's the proper ones in america or the ones across europe like the stats are phenomenal and they just keep doing it year after year after year and like you alluded to there with a young trainer like dom sutton coming down to new zealand i think it makes perfect sense for a young australian trainer to come here and pick the eyes out of them and uh and go for it i mean i think dom sport seven or eight horses and six of them are one and includes includes two very good ones
Speaker 2what did you what did you make of the breeze ups there when you watched them recently well i
Speaker 14think i think that our preparers are are proper like they are very good and i think if they if they had trainers licenses i think they'd be very dangerous gareth i mean they pick horses well across the healing cells wherever they go and i was very pleased with what i've seen and uh there's a good variety in this sale phillies uh up and go horses quick and early type of horses and then you're you're staying horses so there's horses here for everyone gareth he's seeing some
Speaker 2bigger farms holding back their yearlings for this
Speaker 14sale now yeah and probably increasingly so like uh your major farms are now purposely holding back a half a dozen to a dozen horses to to come to this sale whether that's a maturity thing or or whatnot but you see why could have stud high new we were at mappily earlier westbury they're all kind of saving saving a few guns to to go to war with for for this sale
Speaker 2and your kiwi size are on fire at the moment yeah and then you had proxima dea remains unbeaten the daughter of tarzino they've got the job done there um yesterday in the oak so it's been a wonderful time for your size
Speaker 14yeah we're in good shape with our stallions and uh and uh amazing to see that the philly win the oaks yesterday and the armistice third she's by drosten who's going good and uh we're in good shape with our stallions as well so uh like i said we're in good shape and this is a proper catalog that i think every every australian needs to take a hard
Speaker 2look at yeah um this nzb ready to run sale 33 group ones in the past five seasons and i'll tell you what even if someone's even if this horse is part of a horse has passed in i remember last time i was there at the sales with you sam beats and said you better buy this um wooden basset gareth it's passed in for 150 it is a buy and a half and i tried to get it done with these trainers that i was talking to and we couldn't get it done um and then it's become a group winner so sometimes there you go the moral of that story is to listen to you and sam beats basically that's it
Speaker 14you can't go wrong i think sam's a bit more gifted than me but uh if you're listening to sam you go all
Speaker 2right yeah um are you going to try and buy one do you like have you got a few international buyers
Speaker 14coming yeah there'll be a few um spoke to them during the last week there'll be a few coming in for it and uh most of them had such good luck um johnny mckeever is interested and there'll be a few of them coming from from europe and they were over there for for cup week as well yeah so uh um yeah i'm sure sure we'll have a few of them obviously big buying banks from from hong kong malaysia china uh all over the place gareth so
Speaker 2i'm looking forward to it and can we still get flights and is there still a combination available for the sales
Speaker 14yeah pretty much running out of room across across auckland but email uh travel at nzb.co nz gareth i'm sure you've got room locked in already yeah i
Speaker 2don't know if i'm going this year i'll be definitely there for cracker in january but if i didn't have if i didn't have any space there if there was no rooms left for me i'll be happy to stay with you there you've got a five bedroom palace anytime yep anytime um good on you mate thanks for that and um i'm looking forward to seeing what you've got to say about that and i'll see you in a couple of weeks and then i'll see you in a couple of weeks and then i'll see you in a couple of weeks and then i'll see you in a couple of weeks and then i'll see you in a couple of weeks and then i'll see you in a couple of weeks
Speaker 14something here we go um let's go is it next week 2000 guineas in new zealand systems on play ready to run graduate all right
Speaker 2then i've heard some good reports of that galloper systems of play in the 2000 guineas good on you mate thanks andy top
Speaker 14man gareth see you soon there's
Speaker 2andy buick from nzb time for a break on the other side of it it's country corner

Speaker 15melbourne cup day uh Melbourne Cup Day, I was up in Wangaratta, actually. So well done to everyone. All the clubs that hosted meetings throughout the week as well. It's been an enormous week. We're at Kyneton on Wednesday for their Cup Day in the driving rain, but it didn't dampen the spirits. And we're on course at Flemington yesterday. Of course, we had the country final worth half a million dollars with Sulek taking that out. And yeah, we'll head up to Ararat on Sunday and might even sneak to Flemington tomorrow if we can get there.
Speaker 2They tell me Witchy Proof, it was that big, they ran out of beer.
Speaker 15They actually did run out of beer.
Speaker 2It's not a good sign, but it is a good sign if you know what I mean.
Speaker 15Yeah, it's not the worst thing. I mean, you know, maybe some of the locals weren't over the moon as they went back to the bar. But as you say, it just highlights how popular some of these days are. And Witchy Proof was no exception to that on Saturday. Crowd of more than 2,000, some excellent country racing. And more important, the town getting together and all the local communities. Coming from far and wide to enjoy Derby Day at the races in the country and Witchy do it so well. And it was terrific.
Speaker 2The best Cup tip I can give you for Cup Week is forget about Flemington, just back Liam Howley's Gallopers at Kyneton.
Speaker 15It's sensational. On the Wednesday. Yeah, no, absolutely. On Wednesday at Kyneton Cup Day, they've won three of the last four editions of the Kyneton Cup. And Virtuous Circle, he relished the heavy conditions. This is a former Group 1 place getter in an ATC, Derby going back a few years ago. And on the heavy track, Alana Kelly sat back in the field and rounded them up and paid nicely. Paid about $13 in the end as well. But the team at Liam Howley Racing, they obviously target their hometown feature. And they're doing an incredible job across the country circuit, taking out so many pieces of silverware. And that was no exception on Wednesday. And they're going quite well. They, of course, had the nice winner on Cox Plate Day up the straight in Cattington. What a story that was as well. Yeah. And yeah, they were dominant on Wednesday at Kyneton.
Speaker 2One of my favorite parts of Flemington this week was the performance of Billie Karr. She's unbeaten. I love the passion from Dean Yendall after the line with the pumping of the fist. It meant something to him. And Tage Weir, obviously, it's her first Flemington winner during the Cup Carnival. And Tage and the Weir team have got a pretty smart one there.
Speaker 15They absolutely do.
Speaker 2And good to see Will Gordon celebrating too on one
Speaker 15week. He was. He was waving his crutches around and carrying on like a porkchop. You won't mind me saying that. But wonderful scenes on course for Tage Weir and the team. Her and Bonnie were jubilant as Billie Karr crossed the line. And it was a very smart win, as you said, unbeaten Philly now. They might have some lofty targets come the autumn, maybe an Oaks or an Australian Guineas. But absolutely, they should. And as you said, here's to many more for Tage. And what a moment it was to see those scenes in the Mounting Yard. More than what? Ninety seven thousand in the house at Flemington. And that was the biggest moment of her fledgling career. And well done to the team. They're doing a wonderful job. And that race has produced some nice horses in the past, the Batman Stakes. We've seen Vow and Declare win that. And, you know, who knows, 12 months later on to Melbourne Cup glory. So the dream is alive for Tage. And good luck to them as they embark on a nice journey with the three-year-old Philly billy cart.
Speaker 2And well done to Sulak. His connections for Dom Sutton to take out the MCC Country Series final on Oaks Day.
Speaker 15Yeah, this is a terrific race and an excellent concept. It's one of the features of the Oaks Day program now is there's eight or nine heats in the lead up throughout the spring carnival all across the country circuit where some of the smaller stables and trainers, they get their opportunity to shine on the big stage. And it was great to see even through the form guide, just the list of country trainers that saddled up their runners in the Country Series final yesterday. And Sulek for Dom Sutton, the writing was on the wall. The race prior, we saw Bella Verona win the English race and Sulek actually beat that Galloper at Geelong last start. So we probably should have had something on. But no, a really nice winner and great to see all the connections and trainers involved in what's a wonderful concept.
Speaker 2I reckon you could change the concept, however. Okay. Yeah. Go on. I reckon you need to have a chat to Scotty Whiteman. What have you got in store for us, Jake? I don't think Dom Sutton, who trains at Flemington, should be winning a Country Series final. I think if you want to make it a Country Series final for country trainers and give them an opportunity to go to Flemington, then make it for just country trainers and maybe have a provincial one as well for Ballarat and Cranbourne and those type of trainers. But I think that if you have a Country Series final from Country Racing Victoria, you need to have country trainers.
Speaker 15No, look, it's a fair enough argument. And Dom has obviously progressed. He's progressed through the ranks over the last few years. Good on Dom.
Speaker 2He trains at Flemington, so he shouldn't win a Country Series final.
Speaker 15We'll raise that with the team, Scotty.
Speaker 2Get Scotty onto it for me.
Speaker 15Yeah, we might bring him on next week. Yeah, we'll like that. But an excellent concept, and it's great to see it continue to thrive.
Speaker 2All right, Gold Cup Day, Sunday. Now, usually after you've finished Derby Day, I mean Champions Day, you are running…
Speaker 15You're on fumes.
Speaker 2You're on fumes. But around the Wimera… The Ararat Gold Cup is one of the biggest days.
Speaker 15Absolutely, yeah. And Ararat, they're one of the reigning country clubs of the year, the sort of mid- to medium-sized clubs. They do an excellent job. And their Cup Day, it really is a feature of Melbourne Cup Week on the country circuit. It rounds out the huge week. And a couple of features on the program, the Ararat Gold Cup and the China Bowl, or the Ararat Bowl, as they call it now. And we see in the Gold Cup aftermath… For Paul Pruska, he's going for a hat-trick of Country Cup wins. He won the Mortlake Cup last Saturday, and he won the St. Arnaud Cup the week prior. So he's up and about and was dominant last week, actually. And Linda Meach, again, hops on board, and they've created a nice affiliation. And he's got to carry top weight, but it'll be a competitive affair. And it's always a terrific day at Ararat. And we look forward to getting you out there to finish up what's been a huge week. Are you coming with me next week? We look forward to it.
Speaker 2You're coming to Dunkeld. We'll be there Thursday and, no, Friday and Saturday.
Speaker 15Friday and Saturday. Yeah. We can't wait to have the Giddy Up team on board at Dunkeld. It's, of course, probably the most picture-rect track in the country, that's for sure. And a terrific day. There'll be 7,000 or 8,000 in the house on Dunkeld Cup Day. It's just a party, of course.
Speaker 2I'm trying to get Kane Corns there, because I talked to him on the breakfast show this morning. I said, he goes, do you have a break after… I said, no, we're going to Dunkeld. He goes, Dunkeld, where's that? I said, well, you should come. Absolutely. And he could do
Speaker 15plenty worse than heading out to Dunkeld, Kane. So, if you are listening, do yourself a favour. I should hope so. But, no, it's going to be a terrific day. Everything's man-made out there. They put up the marquees and the power generators. And just one of the true country experiences, Zaki Tunbridge and the team at Bet365, they're going to be on course playing some games and whatnot. So, that'll be terrific. And, no. It truly is one of the heart and soul meetings of the country calendar. And Dunkeld Cup Day, the show rolls on next Saturday.
Speaker 2Bring it on, mate. Thanks for that. We appreciate you coming in. And enjoy Champions Day.
Speaker 15We can't wait. Good on you, Jarrett.
Speaker 2There's Josh McGuinness from CRV. Josh from Horsham joins us. He's been on five for us, Josh. Hello to you, mate.
Speaker 16Hey, G-Man. What's happening today?
Speaker 2Oh, not much, mate. Well, there's plenty happening, but we need a few winners. I've got my pen ready to go.
Speaker 16Yeah, we're going to skip right ahead. We're going to skip right ahead. A couple on Sunday, if we can, mate. We're going to go to Ararat, race four, number five, Restless Wind. We're first up since July. Had an excellent preparation last time in work. Went to the paddock after a third place effort at Caulfield, where it was right on the heels of Signature Scent and Cavalry Girl. And that's just simply the best form that's going to come through this race. Recent jump out at Horsham was good. Looks like it's returned in good order. I think it gets the job done for us. Race four, number five, Restless Wind.
Speaker 2Beautiful. What else have you got?
Speaker 16Yeah, we'll skip ahead to the last. Race eight, number one, Bold Strike. Right back in grade for this. Second up in Fitter. Now, form reads two second up runs for Duck Eggs, but they've been good runs in good form races. And I think we can go, Zach Moore claims three, so I think we can go race eight, number one, right down in grade on Sunday to finish off our weekend.
Speaker 2So race four, number five, race eight, number one. I know you're the racing manager for Andrew Dwyer. I didn't think from that camp this weekend.
Speaker 16Yeah, at Ararat as well, we do like, we drew terribly, but we do like Three Real Roses in that Jericho Cup qualifier. She's going really well. And Miscellaneous at Geelong, you can probably back them both each way and get a result, I would have thought.
Speaker 2So each way there. Beautiful. One at Ararat, one at Geelong. Thanks for that, mate. Correct. Righto, mate. Have a good weekend. And Josh McGuinness is still with us, just on the Jericho. It's not far away at all.
Speaker 15No, it's end of November. Yeah. It's the 29th of November. Yeah. An excellent day. Bill Gibbons has done such a wonderful job in promoting and creating the concept, and it's a staple of the calendar now. We're really looking forward to it.
Speaker 2Yeah. Can't wait for that. Good on you, mate. Thank you. NT Thoroughbred Braking is simply the best racing entertainment in the Territory. We're at Alice Springs on a Saturday afternoon. Six races, Andrew Toole. Toole, man, hello to you.
Speaker 17Yeah, g'day, Gareth. Yeah, a lot of excitement in the Territory, obviously, after Tuesday with young Ethan. And I see the club in Alice Springs is named after him. Named a race after him tomorrow, and that's no more than he is due.
Speaker 2There you go, Ethan Brown. I forgot about that. A proud Territory boy. Geez, he's a good kid. Everyone should be so proud of him.
Speaker 17Oh, absolutely, mate. Yeah, we raced here in Darwin on Tuesday, and yeah, the place was a buzz after Ethan's heroics and point of law. We shouldn't forget him as well. But yeah, great result.
Speaker 2What are we doing from a punting perspective there at Alice Springs?
Speaker 17Hopefully, we can get the money early, mate, in the first. The Maiden, number three, Mapleton Hill. Been knocking on the door, obviously, up against Maiden Company, as it is. But I think we can start that out on the right note for Kelly. Patrick and Lech Maloney, race one, number three, Mapleton Hill. Patrick and Maloney, again, race three, number six, Telly's. He's up in grade, but he was very impressive last week, winning in 64 grade by over five lengths. This doesn't look a lot stronger, even though it is an open. So race three, number six, Telly's. And my best of the day there. Patrick and Maloney, again, dad bod. Race four, number one, fresh up. He's got a very good, fresh record, and I think he'll give them plenty to chase in race four, number one.
Speaker 2Race one, number three, race three, number six, and race four, number one.
Speaker 17Easy as that, mate.
Speaker 2Good on you, Andrew. There's Andrew O'Toole, Alice Springs tomorrow, anti-thyroid racing. It's simply the best racing entertainment in the territory. Don't forget, the CFO stakes at group one level. It is happening on November 14th, so that is next week. Tickets are just $15, and that's at Sandown. 10 thrilling races as well for CFO Stakes Day. Looking forward to that group one. Paulie Sebastiani, you've been in superb form for SCN Track throughout the Flemington Carnival. Thank you, Gareth. What's your best tomorrow? Hanky Alpha. It's got to get a run yet, doesn't it?
Speaker 18It'll get a run. It'll get a run. We'll give a couple of other runners a message and just say, look, you're 50 to one. You shouldn't be in this race. Get out of here. We need Hanky Alpha to win. And away we go.
Speaker 2Louie, the lip's talking. My ear's saying it's immoral. And you're full of praise there. I was hearing yesterday of W. Pike's ride. Sensational.
Speaker 18Yeah. Yesterday. On Ray Magnerio. Absolutely superb. Yeah. If you go back and look at the way Ray Magnerio lost the exact same race last year from the exact same barrier, you know why William Pike really pummeled away on the right rein and pummeled away with that whip in the left hand. He did a phenomenal job to get that horse over the line, and for Matt Hill not to see the horse till the last hundred meters, just goes to show you how far off of them he still was. And he burst home and he may very well have that gold rush at his mercy again this year.
Speaker 2When Pikey's at his best and he's so confident, he makes it difficult for the cause because he actually hides around the horses, then pulls them out late and then gets going. He's a freak. He is a freak, Pikey. Good on you, mate. Thanks for that.
Speaker 18Thank you. Good luck this weekend.
Speaker 2My best bets for the weekend, fear not race two, King Pedro race three, race eight, Cosmic Crusader. Yeah. Yeah. Rose Hills, Samorelle, Cash Out and Linebacker. It's 10.58. We've got a big last hour coming your way next year on Giddy Up. Busy final hour coming your way as we welcome our friends listening to us on SEN Turf right throughout WA. Speaker 19Good morning, Gareth Morning listeners, I'm well Good Melbourne Cup week Fun Melbourne Cup week Just ready for the pinnacles Just ready to rock and roll
Speaker 2Bring on the pinnacles G'day to you, Pete Anthonis
Speaker 20Yeah, morning to you, Gareth Morning to Terry Morning to everyone at home uh yeah it's just about ready to ready to cook there in wa um i've had enough of melbourne cup week after pike uh piped me there in the last gareth i've been following that horse averaged a price of 210 and uh he's run me over and nailed me on the line so i'm in a good mood each way not each way you don't bet each way gareth not on 200 to one shots they either win or they run last
Speaker 2oh well i'm pretty sure that you would you should be backing each way there at 200 to one because you get nailed right on the post, Pete. You would have got, what, 30-odd the place.
Speaker 20The computer says no on the long-term profitability, but I was also on Philosopher, who probably should have placed and don't hope do was about one length off too far back. I probably should have run the trifecta, to be honest, and Pike would have missed out.
Speaker 2Perilous Fight is an interesting one. We had, it was Joanne from Kilmore that texted in yesterday. Yeah, she goes, I'll do my form and I'll put it all in my AI system and Perilous Fighter, it's come out at $71 and you should be backing it, Gareth. I said, yeah, all right then, Joanne, I might do that. And she's a genius. I wonder if she's listening this morning, let us know who you're tipping, unless that was you being Joanne Pete.
Speaker 20No, it wasn't me. I didn't have the foresight to do anything like that with the show yesterday, Gareth. No, it's a great, great move there by Joanne. Yeah, we found the right horse. We didn't get the result. That's racing, isn't it?
Speaker 2I've got a question without notice for both of you. Now, you can decline to answer this because you need more time and i'll see you next time on racing wa tv and we'll see you next time on racing wa tv and we'll see you next time on racing wa tv and we'll see you next time on racing wa tv and we'll see you next time on racing
Speaker 19wa tv and we'll see you next time on racing wa tv and we'll see you next time on racing wa tv and we'll see you next time on racing wa tv and we'll see you next time on racing wa tv
Speaker 2Save Your Life racing in the Northerly Stakes. Pride of Jenny's eight in front as they swing for home and Cosmic Crusader dead heats with her right on the wire. What else have I got for you? I like Profit Motive as well. I think Mitch Pateman will have a big pinnacle. It's a test for him. You're flying at the moment, Mitch, but when do you have to fly, Terry? When it matters most? When the carnival arrives.
Speaker 19Everything he touches turns to gold, doesn't it, Peter? I've been waiting for it. I thought Artie's Eclipse might have made your top three, Peter. I'm a little bit disappointed that you haven't found my horse in there, which we got up on Tuesday for Mitchie. Everything Mitchie's done has been great, but that's probably his number one achievement. Grabbing one and two weeks later, turning it into a winner for a bunch of battlers. I don't know. There's a lot of people that thought when he went from Belmont to Ascot that he might slow down, but the thing is, he went to Kalgoorlie. They won a Ronnie Sayers with a horse that couldn't win a Ron Sayers. Slow War should have won the Kalgoorlie Cup. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. Everyone's expecting it to stop, but I can't see why it wouldn't. I also think he has a wonderful crop of horses at the moment and timing is a lot of it as well, but I don't know. The one I'm not convinced on yet, and I actually mean this. This is funny. I actually am not convinced. I need to see it with Basset Hound.
Speaker 2I can't believe Basset Hound's not in your top three. He's in my top three just because, and Roger's not far off then, but I reckon Godspeed will win the Guineas. There you go for the Gangemi's. Leading or are they going to go back? No, they'll go back and just go like they did last start, letting finish off. He's got a tough guy. He can never draw a gate. You'd be tipping him on
Speaker 19well, you'd be tipping him on Saturday then, wouldn't you? He's seven bucks, beat he's a dollar eight. He probably leads that just about, depending what they want to do with he's a machino. So dearie me, Gareth, if that's your thought process, you should be waiting for the Guineas to have it there. Well, this should be the way you have a proper bet, I reckon, and not the
Speaker 2Guineas. I reckon the Gangemi's are nearly along with Mitch Pateman and the Informed Stable. Would that be fair?
Speaker 19Yeah, they're going super. I think Clint Johnston Porter is a bit of a cheat code at the moment. I don't know if it wins with any other jockey on Labarde D'Amezzo against Defyra Gigi Coles in the prelude for the Placid Arc, but now they're doing a great job with horses that you perhaps didn't think were at the certain levels they're racing at. Even First Beach holding off the one Pete and I were pretty keen on, especially Pete's spicy thing last week as well. So yeah, now they're doing a great job, but it's more they're doing a great job with unexpected horses, which is half the battle.
Speaker 2A lot of love for Autocruise. Wait till you see this Galloper back in action. That's a good shout out as well. As I was talking to Uncle Bob, Bob Peters there yesterday, there's a lot of good horses in WA at the moment, Pete. It's exciting. And the best part about it, I reckon, a host of different trainers have got a pretty handy horse.
Speaker 20Yeah, no, exactly right. And it makes doing the form a little bit trickier. We're getting to that stage now where speed maps and where you draw and so forth and tactics are counting for a lot. Because on any given day, any horse can turn up and beat another one. And it's just about keeping together at the right time. So as you said that for either races all of a sudden, I haven't actually done the full form on it yet, but you're looking at the speed map and going, well, here's a Makino. Surely he has to roll across from that barrier, set the race up, set the speed at the 1400, but surely Godspeed just follows him across and that could turn the tables on Beatty, but then Roger's in the field as well. So you're just looking at going, well, it's really difficult to try and pick where your value is at the moment. So yeah, I've got half a bet there for Saturday so far. Gee, I've done four and a half races and I've got half a bet. So hopefully Terry's got a little bit more.
Speaker 2So Beatty's at $1.85, Roger $2.60 in the Faritha and Godspeed $6.50. Godspeed each way all day. It's only $1.45 the place at the moment with bet $3.65, but geez, I love this horse. I reckon he'll go awfully close there on Saturday, Terry. Who do you like?
Speaker 19Yeah, if you are an each-way player, you might get a chance because Countessunk ran on Wednesday, Thursday and it might come out. So you might get top two. So suddenly if you're getting $2.40 a hole and you do think the Beatty and Godspeed form is best, that might be the go. But my market was similar, Beatty around even money, but I didn't think there was much between Roger and Godspeed. I had Godspeed slightly ahead in my market. So if I was having a bet now, it would be Godspeed, but it's a race I'm going to stay out of. And we also just need to remember Swift Ruler failed last start, but should have beaten Roger at its priors. It gets four and a half kilos on it. So if you've got a real reason to forgive Swift Ruler, that's a wild weight swing for the $2.60 versus $14 type thing. But yeah, forgiveness has a price, doesn't it? Peter,
Speaker 2who do you like in this race, just with an early look?
Speaker 20Yeah, no real opinion, to be honest. I would lean to Godspeed with the map, but again, I'm basically discounting Roger, who's unbeaten this prep, but what's suddenly going to regress. I think the weak part of the market is Beatty. I'm going to be against that horse until proven otherwise, and I'll probably go under, but that doesn't matter. That's how I do the form. But I think That first up win's got a few holes in it, to be honest.
Speaker 2Our girl can run at $2. Is she a bet at that price, Terry?
Speaker 19I was $1.90. So, yeah, well, I've tipped her on my online preview as one of my two best of the day. I did feel better about $2.30, $2.40, $2.50. I wouldn't be taking even money personally, but softer lead, more roadblocks, no Rockfest or Hurricane Harley. The main danger is $1,400 back to $1,200. The win doesn't look as strong. Fitter, yeah. So, to be honest, yeah, I think she is. I'm $1.90. There's slide overs there, but
Speaker 20I expect her to win. Pete? Yeah, nothing further. I'm $2.10, but I'm not going to be taking that sort of price. But I agree, it's one of those races where you're looking and just trying to work out who's going to beat her. And I don't really have any confidence in any of those horses. You know, Fast Harry looks very, very short, given the SP profile, to be honest. So, I know there's been a few changes there behind the scenes, but that's not getting me enticed in a race where. Al Gore can run maps to absolute perfection.
Speaker 2The Steer Stakes, King of Light, $2. Watch me rock. Grant and Alana Williams back into the race book here. Western Empire at $5. London's Image at $7. Two Darty at $15. Let's Gavelant. Galavant, I should say, at $19. Bustler at $60 to $1. And Sentimental Hero at $60 to $1. King of Light is a short prize favourite. He's two from two this prep. Do you reckon he'll be making it three from three, Pete?
Speaker 20I mean, look, there's no reason to say why not, other than the fact that the speed map's a bit of a mess on paper. I'm still always just waiting for London's Image to just revert to just going forward and dictating these races with no tempo, but they showed no intent first up, so why would that change here? In which case, who leads? Is it Let's Galavant from Watch Me Rock? It's just messy races, G. These aren't the races to be trying to make money in. So, right favourite, King of Light on $2.40, but I could not be recommending a bet here. Terry? Same as Pete.
Speaker 19There's no way you can really play in this race with the map, but I tell you what, I think London's Image has sort of found its level with where they're at, so it's time to change things up. To be honest, Pete, I hadn't even considered that somehow in doing my form. In all fairness, I was a little bit shady on Wednesday, but that's exactly what they should be doing. Not just leading on London's Image, trying to put one on them as well, I reckon. Go old Boy Hill style and try and put 10 on them.
Speaker 2Yeah, I love the way you're thinking there. What about your best bets on this program, Terry?
Speaker 19Oh, dear. After I get back to life. I like how Girl can run, as I said, but the price is barely there. My main play is going to be in the last. The price is still there once I recover. I think Keep Reading should be a clear favourite in the last. I may be a little bit confused here, but I think a heap of these in the market. September Born, all the money's coming for. I thought that run was horrible, and it's been multiple preps of just questioning where the horse is at. Then you've got Zentaro, who's short. You've got who I don't think gets $1,200. Snitzel. He's going okay. Oh, look, I just think Keep Reading should be favourite. We're getting each way. That's my big play for the day. The danger's Hurricane Harley. If you're a saving type person, I think Three Wide Line, it makes a lot of sense. But no, Keep Reading is the big play for the day. Before I forget, Gareth, do you know who William Pike is riding in the Placid Arc? If not, can you find out for me?
Speaker 2We'll do that now. I'll text him, the great man. Hey? Oh, okay. I'll text him. Show off. Well, you want me to find out? I said, I'm going to find out.
Speaker 19Has he responded yet?
Speaker 2Oh, I haven't even started yet. Give me two seconds. Pete, you take it away. Who do you think will win? Or your best bets?
Speaker 20My half a bet, Gareth, is also in the last. As Terry said, there's a fair bit of speed here, but so many thousand metre horses racing over 1,200, the map looks like complete car crash for a lot of the pace horses late. So I'm looking at the horse that's got a really good turn of foot on her day. Both starts this prep, she's been not suited. Both in a bit inconclusive, but Clint Johnson-Porter's sticking. Black Aura. On her day is as good as any of these over the last 400, 600 metres. If she gets clear air, all the speed will be stopping and she's double figures. So mild mate, Black Aura. I'll have something on her. I agree with Terry. I think Keep Breeding and Hurricane Harley are both obvious chances, but they both need the right run. And I'm not completely sold on anything in this race getting the right run. So something small, Black Aura for me in the last.
Speaker 2What about Uncle Bob Tiptis of BC? Do you agree with him against I'd Love Your Money, Pete?
Speaker 20In an Apprentice's Cup where it could go 20 lengths above or 20 lengths below.
Speaker 2That'll suit Bob's horse.
Speaker 20Absolutely not. No, no, no. You're not betting in these Apprentice's Cup races. You have to go to the asylum.
Speaker 2I am because Bob said if I gave him $100, that's what he would do, Terry.
Speaker 19You've asked two really poor questions. I've just lost my earpod. You've asked two really poor questions this interview. Your first one was asking, Pete, when are you back to $200? I'll be back to each way. I hate nothing more than when you tell someone, what about a hard luck? Oh, did you back it each way? Who cares if I backed it each way? That's irrelevant to the story. I either got a little bit of money back or I had a fill up. So that's your first strike. And your second one is asking, Pete, if he's going to take $2.90 in the Apprentice's Cup about a horse. So one more strike, Gareth, and you're in big trouble. There might be a new host in that chair, I'd suggest.
Speaker 2Yes, well, it wouldn't be hard anyway to be better than I. But now tell me this, Terry. Have you got anything for us on Sunday, someone's asked? What's on Sunday? Yeah, I do, but I'm not sure.
Speaker 19I'm not sure. I'm just sharing it till the odds are out, dearie me. That's the third strike.
Speaker 2That's the third strike for you.
Speaker 19I think it might be, yeah. That's it, you're. That's all she wrote.
Speaker 2Pikey hasn't got back to me. Well, you boys have a wonderful day. Hopefully you fill up there at Ascot and bring on the carnival. Once Champions stakes all, once Flemington finishes, then I think we will turn our eyes and attention basically to WA. We've got the C4 stakes, meaning it's Sandown. And then those horses will fly to Perth. I think Sunday week, I'm pretty sure, or Monday week anyway. And then, yep, we'll be ready to go for the railway stakes.
Speaker 19Looking forward to it, mate.
Speaker 2Good on you, Terry. Good on you, Pete. Thanks for that. Cheers, guys. There we go. There's Pete Anthus and Terry Leighton with their preview of Ascot. 16 minutes past 11. Heath Pope and also Lincoln Moore will join me to preview this meeting at Morpherville tomorrow afternoon. Always great to catch up with our next guest, Heath Pope.
Speaker 21G'day, Popey. Hi, good morning, Gareth.
Speaker 2How's the, how's Cup Week treated you?
Speaker 21Oh, busy, mate, busy. Yeah. Yeah, value-wise, just even. But, you know, I think it's been a good week. No, it's been a busy week.
Speaker 2And how's the new app going? You can explain that to us. You've been busy trying to get that all organised. You've got your website up and going as well?
Speaker 21Absolutely, mate. Yeah, so we've transitioned from a website to an app. Obviously, the website's still going. But once you join, you will connect to an app and away you go. So, yeah, find the value and hopefully we find some more on Saturday.
Speaker 2And how do you join up and get involved with this new app there?
Speaker 21Yeah, mate, just there's some pretty good links there. So, it's pretty self-explanatory. Just click on the links, click subscribe, and then you download an app and away you go. What's the website?
Speaker 2sectionaledge.com.au, Gareth. sectionaledge, all one word,.com.au. Popey's been on fire of late. It's a great tool to work out what prices you should be taking. Where the value is for especially those Melbourne, Adelaide, and Sydney metropolitan meetings on a Saturday. So, yeah, Popey, you're doing a wonderful job. And now we need you to find us some winners at Morpheville on the Parks Track.
Speaker 21We'll do my best here, mate. And I'm actually pretty keen. I think we can make some money out of this Morpheville Parks meeting. First time we've been back at the park circuit for seven weeks, Gareth. So, expecting track to play pretty. Pretty well, given even tempo, on paces should be suited. Anyway, mate, let's start off in race three, number three, Kalmana. Now, I think this rate's a really good each-way bet here. Now, it strips fitter for having two runs back this time in. No luck on each occasion. Now, I think the big thing in here is, although it's drawn barrier 12, mate, I do think the market has overreacted to it. To that price. To the barrier, sorry, mate. Stepping up to 1,400 metres here is the key. Now, third up last campaign was only beaten a bit over three lengths against Lister Company over this trip. Third up. So, also, we have a favourite here in Harmonic Dancer. Now, to be kind, this is a bit of a punter's thief. So, at the end of the day, mate, I think this horse, stripping fitter is a good bet at $3.80 or better.
Speaker 2Beautiful. I'll tell you what price we're getting right now for that Gallifrey. $4.80, I think I last saw. $4.80 with bet $3.65. You're 100% right. So, that's race three, number three. What else have you got for us, Popey?
Speaker 21Okay, mate. Pretty keen here. Now, we're going to go to race four. Now, first of all, I'll talk about we have a favourite here called Inevitable Award. Now, very talented. However, it's still only third up off a very lengthy layoff. And it is chewing up a lot. - Yeah. of percentage out of the market so let's turn our attention to number seven suit of wands now last start it's coming off an outstanding last start win led throughout one by six lengths just bolted in never looked like losing uh now remains in the same grade same 80 benchmark grade um after the claim gets in with only 52 and a half kilos now i can just see the same thing happening again going to the front giving them nothing else a chance uh last i saw bet 365 were four dollars gareth i've got it rated a three dollar 25 chance
Speaker 2it's four dollars suit of wands so that's um a great push there race four number seven what else have you got for us mate
Speaker 21mate we're going to have a bit of a throw at the stumps here in race six number one star serious now we first of all again we've got a very short price favorite here uh can he miss has been crunched and will be very hard to hold out but two dollars ten last i looked is it's poison odds um so as i said going for a throw at the stumps now start serious first up uh was it against benchmark 84 company now was out the back run on nicely um it was a good run now back against benchmark 68 company it won't know itself now again it will be spotting most of these a start however i think the tempo up front will be more than solid um we'll see what happens next time we'll see what happens next time we'll see what happens next time we'll see what happens next time we'll see what happens next time we'll see what nothing will be hitting the line harder than this horse um i can't believe the odds i think we're up around 20 maybe a bit under 17 what is it
Speaker 2now 17 star series yeah okay i've
Speaker 21got to rate it about a nine dollar chance
Speaker 2gareth okay and the final of your specials at
Speaker 21morpheville okay again we're going to go to race eight now we have a very very short price favorite here in confucius flyer now it's the end of the day it's it's only coming out of a maiden win yes the time was quick however what i'm banking on here gareth is the race shape here it's going to be on a very strong tempo now i'm just hoping that can bring it undone here now the horse that i've turned my attention to is number nine blank blanc visage now this is a horse that um it produces its best ratings when tempo is strong uh i see it getting a really nice map here doing no work um and also panel going aboard tongue tie also another positive gear change i think this is a six dollar fifty chance gareth and again that was i think i last saw about twelve or thirteen dollars
Speaker 2so race eight number nine blanc for such we're getting what uh twelve dollars and two seventy five there with bet three six five popey have you got anything out wide
Speaker 21for us mate flemington i'm hoping my weatherman is a little different to yours i'm i'm hoping we don't get a heavy track um it won't affect my first play i think race three number three berkeley square is flying uh i think uh if i if i was invited to do the top four plays it'd be nearly my bed for that um i think race eight number five bird man i i just i i think it is the value play in race eight and um i'm hoping for not much rain by come race nine i think number five torsion gets in very well
Speaker 2first up all right beautiful tall sheen there first up for the freemans love your work popey go to of course um your website and uh you can um download the app and away you go um so that's sectionaledge.com.au sectionaledge.com.au one word and away you go there popey
Speaker 21thanks gareth good luck everyone big weekend yep
Speaker 2there's heath pope thanks to racing sa and the front runner podcast lincoln moore joins us g'day lincoln gareth how are you mate good thank you mate what do you like there at morfaville tomorrow
Speaker 22and like popey i'm uh keen on a few of these shorties i thought it looked a day for a few favorites and the first of them was race four number five inevitable award the horse he touched on third up uh off a long break i just feel like it's actually found the right race where it can really improve here paul pruska's had a amazing run here in south australia he's bought uh 20 runners over the border this season for eight winners so he's going at about 40 percent and this horse i think on its best form would be very hard to beat so he was the first of my best race for number five and then race five number four virtually illusion a horse that was beaten his favorite last start when uh got put in a pocket at a crucial stage but i think it look it's ready to win its first up run was very good behind its stable mate bretta moore and i think even though it's drawn wide here i reckon jake toroka will be out to make amends and i reckon race five number four looks very hard to beat and i've got a third and that's can he miss the other horse maybe touched on the very short price they did bet about 250. um she is into uh i think even money now in some uh some uh bookies but i really loved last start win i just thought the fact that she was able to settle behind the speed and when she let down she won by almost three lengths coming off the speed so garrett lynch has got himself a pretty talented mayor here and i think should be hard to beat race six number seven can
Speaker 2he miss good on you mate we appreciate your time as always no
Speaker 22worries gareth have a good weekend
Speaker 2mate there's lincoln moore thanks to racing sa and the front runner podcast you can get that front runner podcast to subscribe to it with your local podcast subscriber jane ivel with her tips in new zealand and dean evans has sent through his best for the weekend as well jane iva as well so we'll go through all of them next here on giddyup join the
Speaker 1conversation text us on 049736736 live across australia this is giddyup with gareth hall
Speaker 2welcome back to giddyup um we can wake up with new zealand's racing and on new zealand racing kick your day off with a kiwi bet what's gambling really costing you for free and confidential support visit gamblinghelponline.com so flemington finishes we've got the cf4 stakes meeting at sandown tickets are just 15 a ticket tech um for that group one next week at sandown but now the attention in australasian racing turns to christchurch in the southern island of new zealand um next week jane ivel as i say hello to you we cut week what a great week it is yeah it's an
Speaker 23incredible week for new zealand racing in all honesty and across the two codes too with the uh gallops and the big harness action on tuesday with the new zealand trotting cup but um pretty exciting for the three-year-olds too we've got the thousand guineas this weekend at rickerton and the 2000 guineas next weekend so it's a big meeting there on saturday 11 races uh so it'll be a busy day would you take a dollar
Speaker 295 with bet 365 for asturia in the feature race there um the thousand guineas
Speaker 23look there's no doubt that she has been the standout philly leading into the thousand guineas she's been the most consistent uh she's got the best form around her and she absolutely is the three-year-old philly to beat down there uh would i take a dollar 90 or would i be looking at a couple of others at each way value i'd probably be looking at a couple of the other fillies at each way value that i think you're going to improve when they get to the mile i think lance o'sullivan and andrew scott have got two really nice fillies and dashing dixie and um the other one escapes my memory at the moment yeah the armor
Speaker 2yeah it's the armor there
Speaker 23and miss magnetica is the other one that i think can run a bold race but um i wouldn't be leaving the favorite out as i said she's been a clear standout heading into the
Speaker 2race what's your best across a big day there at rickett on saturday to kick off the carnival well
Speaker 23there's three races that i'm going to have a bit in at rickett in kicking off and racing before a horse called toronto who last preparation winning in this grade at rickerton um he's returned from a break and he's usually a second up horse he's got an incredible second up record but he usually only has one troll leading into his first up run they've trolled this horse three times and he's trolled exceptionally on every occasion i just think that they're showing a little bit of intent to have him ready to fire for this carnival first up so toronto's the horse i want to back in race number four uh 2 10 9 and 5 states which is a listed event over the thousand meters sprinters i'm sticking with platinum attack he won this race 12 months ago and he's coming into this year's race in the right form after in a decisive win at ellisley last start which i think is great form heading down to ricketts he's proven at the thousand meters he's won three of his four starts at the distance there's a lot of speed on paper and i think it's going to set up for him and his racing pattern um he'll get back and he'll sort of have the last go at them really interesting runner in this race though north england who you might remember as the dual stakes winning two-year-old in australia um he's having his new zealand debut and he's actually trialed twice and won both trolls and in slick time as well so quite keen to see what he can do but platinum attack on top one three twelve five and finally in the metropolitan uh the lead into the new zealand cup i'm with the 10 the precursor i think uh he'll win the new zealand cup and i think he'll win this as well so um 10 9 1 and 3 in
Speaker 2the metropolitan about 280 there with bet 365 that'll do us nicely there jane i mean you're heading over to christ church next week no i'm not
Speaker 23but it was quite funny brad and i were having a conversation last night brad taylor your beautiful husband yes watching one of the um pieces that um new zealand had done trackside new zealand had done in the lead up to it and we sat here and went oh gosh we'll we'll get uh um a bit of fomo not being there uh because it is setting up to be an incredible week i mean this is only the first day on saturday but new zealand cup day i think you've probably experienced a trotting cup on on the Tuesday, which is incredible, and the New Zealand Cup for the Gallopers next Saturday, and you just get an incredible crowd. It's got a great atmosphere, although I've just spent two days at Flemington, so I'm not sure I'm quite compared to Flemington, but it's, I guess, the equivalent for New Zealand.
Speaker 2I went to New Zealand Cup Day last year, and then it rained on the Saturday, and I got to the gates and turned around and went to the pub because they thought it was going to be called off, but then somehow they got through that meeting, but New Zealand Trotting Cup Day, is one of my favourite days in any code, and that'll be happening on Tuesday, and then, of course, on the Wednesday, Thousand Guineas, usually with a hangover. You turn up there to Rickett the day after the New Zealand Trotting Cup, and then go to the Ashburton Trots on Thursday. It's just, for us racing fans, it's Christmas again. It's a massive week.
Speaker 23Yeah. Massive week down there, and it's sort of their showpiece for the South Island, and what's great about it is, you know, trainers from all over the country support them. So, you get horses flying down from the north. You have all the big trainers there, all the big jockeys. It's just a fabulous carnival for New Zealand.
Speaker 2Good on you, Jane. Thanks for that. Enjoy Cup Week.
Speaker 23Will do. Thank you.
Speaker 2There's Jane Ivel there. winningedgeinvestments.com Professional betting education tips and ratings so you can treat your betting like an investment. And Dean Evans has sent through his best there. First of all, he wanted to congratulate Peter George, the winner of the SCN and Winning Edge Investments competition. He's won two marquee tickets to Champions Day, at Flemington on Saturday, worth $2,860, and he won 1% of the net 100K prize money of all ban in the Melbourne Cup, and Winning Edge has generously extended it to 1% of the prize money Volban earns in the Queen Elizabeth stakes on Saturday. So, you can also cheer him on track side. That is terrific. Good luck to you, Pete. Congratulations. And Dean is travelling to the Thousand Guineas, meaning Canterbury, New Zealand, so he can't join us, but he's followed, and his following tips are Cabela's each way in the Champion Sprint Race 6 No. 4, Trey Magnifique each way, Race 9 No. 10 at Flemington, and Eagle Farm Incognito, Race 4 No. 7. So, Flemington Race 6 No. 4, Race 9 No. 10 at Flemington, and Race 4 No. 7 there at Eagle Farm. That's Dean Evans. Special thanks to winningedgeinvestments.com, professional betting education, tips and ratings, so you can treat your betting like an investment. Time for a break. The Jump Out King, Scotty Amor, to join me next. Welcome back to Giddy Up, Gareth Hall with you. Always great to catch up with our good friend here, live from New Zealand, Scotty Amor, the Jump Out King extraordinaire. He's got three teams, tips at Flemington for us on Champions Day. Hello to you, Scotty.
Speaker 24Hiya, Gareth. How are you, mate?
Speaker 2I am very well, mate. Where do we start with your plays, brother?
Speaker 24We'll start off with my best bet in Race 2, Fear Not. He's been massive in both runs this preparation. A rise to the mile here. Beard up. I think he'll be winning Race 2 at Flemington.
Speaker 2Beautiful. Fear Not. I know a few of our judges are keen on that galloper, so I love that you're keen. And there as well. What else have you got for us, mate?
Speaker 24We'll go to the Champions Stakes Race 8, Cosmic Crusader. He just seems to grow another league at Flemington. He's good at Caulfield, but as soon as he gets to Flemington, he's just about unbeatable. I think they'll run it very similar to how the Cox Plate was run, and the fact that he came from behind all of them to beat them, I just can't see them beating him here. And if any rain comes, he's even more favoured by it. So Cosmic Crusader, I think he's a massive player, and I think he'll be winning again.
Speaker 2Beautiful. And you've got another special for us.
Speaker 24Yeah, my best roughy is in Race 4, Cripps. He flies first up. I liked his Ballarat jump out. It was the strongest hold you'll ever see on a horse running last. I think he's absolutely rip-warring, ready to go for this, and I think he's a great each-way play.
Speaker 2Oh, that's great. It's a great sensation. It'll be great to see Patrick Kearney get a winner there on Champions Day there to finish up Cup Week. So that's Cripps, Race 4, number 12. You enjoy Cup Week in New Zealand, mate?
Speaker 24Yeah, thanks, Gareth. I'm actually going to be at Eagle Farm tomorrow. Hey, what's happening at Eagle Farm? There's a betting comp that I'm in each week, and it's a grand final there, and it's a bit of a get-together with everyone that's in the comp, and we're going to see who's going to win. We came over last year, and we had such a good time. We've come back, and, yeah, looking forward to heading out to the track there.
Speaker 2You're never back home these days, Scotty boy. So you enjoy Eagle Farm. And what happens when we back your horses?
Speaker 24When you're back with the king, you wear all the bling.
Speaker 2Good on you, Scotty. Enjoy the sunshine state.
Speaker 24And I hope you and your listeners have a great weekend.
Speaker 2You too, brother. You're a good man. There's Scotty Amor, the jump out. King extraordinaire. You can follow him on Instagram as well. He gives a Sunday bet. That's where he made his name, and he rarely misses. He's got 50-odd thousand followers now around that anyway. I'm going to take a break. We'll find you some winners in the dogs and the trots next to wrap up Giddy Up on this Friday.
Speaker 1This is Giddy Up.
Speaker 2It's a busy end to finish off our Friday show. And all thanks to Daily Wrap, to Lidleydale Instant Lawn, Australian family-owned quality turf delivered on time every time our roots run deep. Now, Paulie Sebastiani, you must be really looking forward to, obviously, Champions Day. But then after that, head to the Meadows for Group 1 action. It's very best. 100%. Top Gun. And I love Top Gun night.
Speaker 18I'll be out there. Don't you worry about that. I've got two of my closest cousins who had a pretty decent collect there on Cup Day. Tell us that story, can you? I can if you'd like. Take it away. You do hear often during Melbourne Cup and especially on Melbourne Cup Day of people winning mystery exotics, Gareth. Yes. Now, big shout out to my cousin, Marcello. I hope you're doing well, mate. What's his name? Marcello. Marcello. Mars, we call him for short, right? Yeah. And he does. He does his form, like all of us, right? He loves a bet. And while we were on air on Tuesday, we have a little group chat with the family, him, me, and his brother. And he sent in big, bold letters. I've just refreshed my certain account. I've just won $50,000 off a dollar. And I was stunned. I said, no, surely not. He said, yeah, I've won $50,000 off a dollar. A mystery first four in order. Mystery first four. That's paid $50,000. That's paid $50,000 on the Melbourne Cup. He had the first four in order of the Melbourne Cup. He's had a collect, so we're going to be out there on Saturday having a punt on the Greyhounds after Champions Day.
Speaker 2The best punting stories on Cup Day or Cup Week, let us know. 0-4-double-9-7-3-6-7-3-6. Incredible signs. On the Gareth's Horse and Hound text line. That will be hard to beat.
Speaker 18Oh, it's hard to beat for the year. He's paid for the wedding in Japan. We'll be out there next year. In Ichiwa. Away you go. Yes. Arigato gozaimi. Yes, exactly right. Thank you. So he's going to go buy a horse now, I reckon, and a Greyhound.
Speaker 2How good's that? Good on you, Paulie. Thank you. Speaking of Greyhounds, we've got the Top Gun for the stays and also the sprinters. They're invitational races, so the idea is to get the best eight dogs, if you can, to turn up to the meadows to compete to kick off the carnival for Greyhound Racing Victoria. We've also got the Group 1 Hume Cup Final. Jason Adams and also Georgie Faruja join me now. Hello to you, Jase.
Speaker 25Hello, Jake. Great to be with you on this Friday morning. As you said, we build up to one of the great nights tomorrow with the three Group 1s, the Top Gun stayers, sprinters, Hume Cup, and after all the conversation about the field selection, gents and Georgie, it's come to game time tomorrow night. Yeah, yeah. All that kerfuffle was last week.
Speaker 26Let's just get on to the race. And I'll tell you what, Gareth, I'm not sure what you're thinking, and especially your girl, Miss Envy, is certainly representing some value. But I think there's some value in some of these bigger races as well that we can probably hone in on tomorrow night.
Speaker 2Will you take it away, you two? You take it away with your previews of the Group 1s.
Speaker 26Well, we'll kick off with the Top Gun. Obviously, wrongly accused is the favorite during Box 8, where he's finished unplaced in his last two starts for the first time in his career. Before that, I mean, he looked unstoppable, Jase. Box 8, we spoke about on Wednesday, that has got some pros but also some cons for him. What are your thoughts on wrongly accused and the confidence levels going into this race?
Speaker 25Well, I feel like he's a bit of an elephant in the room that we're not really speaking about as much as what we should. I mean, the speed from off the chart in seven is clearly going to help him, and he's a dog that doesn't mind being in the wider part of the track. So our sort of sense is he's not being respected as much. After his last two runs. Well, the market is, but I don't think the rest of us are really considering him as big of a chance as what he probably is.
Speaker 26Yeah, look, I suppose the last two runs leave a bad taste in your mouth, but he's done enough for any short and unbelievable career to give him another chance. Look, like you said, there's speed in the seven, speed in three and four. So I think that's where the race lies with one of those greyhounds can find the top. they'll be hard to beat i'm really keen on storm hustler at 11 so i think he's a greyhound on the up i think he's had some really good experience interstate had a really good uh win on million dollar chase night um his run was okay i suppose on on silver bullet night he he ran second but i think he can get the start a lot better and if he does that uh gareth i think he'll be hard to be we're shopping at around 11 i think he's definitely in each way play storm hustler all
Speaker 2right then yeah we're getting 11 there with bet 365. hume cup what do you make of that race
Speaker 26yeah look i mean the fastest qualifier is drawn box eight house of sins he's he along with probably the the the ns um trio are the fastest greyhounds in the race but i don't think any of them are particularly well drawn so house of sins has to overcome that corner start you spoke about it um pretty well uh gareth on on wednesday when you discussed you can get fanned off on that first corner if you do that at this race is wide open that's why i was looking at jemma keeping who has been back from 460 into 390 and vista weird at five dollars there's also speed drawn off box one so it's it's not an easy run to the first corner for those greyhounds jay's drawn from five to eight no it's not and the ben
Speaker 25stark clearly beginning wales crucial yeah and at this level of of uh racing you can't be giving chances so i i'm in the camp of jemma keeping in that market move i think she's got the ability to go straight to the front she's not the fastest dog in the race but she can absolutely run a good enough time to win it so
Speaker 26i'll be with her yeah we discussed gareth if there was a top gun for 600 meters house of sins would be probably the first picked his last three months of racing for trainer anthony as a party has been unbelievable at both sandown and the meadows but the box draw was problematic for me especially
Speaker 2at 3 30. i can't believe we're getting six dollars with miss envy so disrespectful um just recap your best bets on a magical night to kick off of course the carnival for greyhound racing um envic tory so we've got the top gun night tonight and then you can watch it of course on racing.com listen to it on scn track and rsn927 but i'm looking forward to watching the coverage saturday night yeah look
Speaker 26definitely keen to have an each way play on storm hustler i know it's a very very good field but if he can get out and go i think he's a definite top three chance magpie hector's going to be clearly hard to beat in the stay as top gun he's just racing at such an unbelievable level but i'm going to have a play on aiden's warrior each way around the five dollar mark i think he's racing very well the other two on the program i was keen on race one number four gareth repeat the same and race five number one he's a pearl i think both of them will be winning as well
Speaker 25my best we race 11 number one at prison break so um outside of those main features that we're all excited about race 11 number one but as you said jay big night ahead and you can catch all the color and all the action or the commentary opinions on racing.com tomorrow night i'm looking forward
Speaker 2to it good on your boys says jason adams and georgie ferugia with their preview of top gun night at the meadows tomorrow night i'd love catching up with this man toot toot chris vogue he's one of the very best drivers not only wa but in the land and he joins us here on giddy up hello to you vokey i'm good g man how are you good thank you mate you it's a big news well i've always got big news yeah i know so you you've got a slot in the ultimate drivers championship
Speaker 13yeah yeah we've um just raised the markability of uh this uh the drivers championship over there at albion park we've already called the fire department ready to put the flames out so there's
Speaker 2some big names like the best of the best we'll be turning up from i'm i'm hearing some big names out of canada like a jody jameson i'm hearing maybe tim teatrick um you've got all of the the the big name drivers like james herbertson and cam hart that i reckon i've got a slot um from the eastern states i don't know if juniors got a slot this year but you're confident you can mix
Speaker 13it with them voki well jr's probably one of the best drivers in the land and i race him every week so it's not foreign
Speaker 2and um so what's inspired you to get involved with this series
Speaker 13someone called me a fat washed up freak but
Speaker 2now you're ready to go vicky
Speaker 13yeah well i sort of got put the idea to me and and then i i wasn't really keen on it and knocked it back because i'd sort of now we're trying to get back on the track and we're trying to get back on sort of now we're training training a full team over here and yeah i am lost my hair put on a few kilos i think i've shrunk a little bit so there wasn't didn't have much going for me and then yeah someone called me fat and washed up so i thought you know what yeah gotta prove him wrong and oh that's right i think so i'd um yeah i changed my mind and sent out a few messages to some friends and people and contacts to get involved and and um the idea i wanted to try and get as many people involved in the slot as we could so that we'd have a um you know a big crew of people going over over the albion park and um you know i actually said in the message look i'm taking it serious um i'm actually going to lose 10 kilos before the the series and we'll market it all pretty well and one of my mates actually said yeah cool mate i'll drop in for 5 000 for you and i said oh thanks very much he goes i'm not really interested in the racing i just want to see you lose 10 kilos
Speaker 2so but yeah like i i reckon you can definitely mix it with them all you've got the pink sulky i think you're one of the great entertainers the game's got i think it's important you have characters like you voki so you go and get them mate so it's not far off them now you'll be watching who's going to do your form for the queensland um some form for you because obviously you need to pick right on that wednesday for the for the draft
Speaker 13well that's right gareth so um i think ed birchel and ricky ametty are going up there to do that for us um i'm actually teeing up to fly in sort of the monday and and try and get a few drives on at um albion on the tuesday because i've never driven the track before just to get a feel for that um because as much as it's um you know really fun to be a part of it and it's a good series um i am actually going there to try and win yeah um yeah i've got to do it right because there is a lot of money at stake um and and it's a really good concept that's um broadcast sort of thing um so it's a really good concept and i think it's going to be a really good thing um so i think it's going to be a really good concept and i think it's going to be a really good thing um and i think it's going to be a really good concept and i think it's going to be a really good concept and i think it's going to be a really good concept and i think it's going to be a really Well, I'd get in touch with Ed Birchall or Rick Giamatti. Because, I mean, we did it. When I looked at all the quokka and all that stuff and the Nullarbor that was here, I was really impressed with the way the Ram Syndicate did their sort of slot. I mean, they had huge amounts of people on course, you know, the Trotsdogs and the Gallops, and they just sold, like, 1% shares that were real affordable for everybody to be involved in. So, yeah, Eddie and I put the idea to Eddie and said, I'd like to go this route as opposed to getting, you know, just four or five big guns jumping in. We can get a heap of people involved. And it's been really good so far. good so far. We've sort of got about 30-40% or 1% shareholders involved. So I think we're probably going to have to call the army to charter us a plane for the amount of people that are coming over.
Speaker 2Sensational, brother. Well, I hope you go and get the job done. I've got about a minute or so. Do you have a winner for us? Yeah, I do.
Speaker 13What's the one tonight? God damn it. Stellar Edition. You can bet with a bit of confidence you'll lead and win.
Speaker 2Stellar Edition. I love it. I appreciate that, mate. Thanks for that. You go and get them. And yeah, I love how you've taken the punts and it's going to be a lot of fun watching the pink team, I reckon. It will be.
Speaker 13I hope you're going to be on course, Jamie. No, I'll be there,
Speaker 2mate. Well, I'll be going against you, so I hope you're on second. But anyway, I'm in the giddy-up slot. We've got Angus Garrard. We won it the first year and we finished second and third. We've got a home ground advantage, but he's a young gun.
Speaker 13You don't need to brag. No, no.
Speaker 2Well, I hope you beat Junior anyway. Good on you,
Speaker 13Vokey. All right, G-Man. Thanks, mate. You have a good day.
Speaker 2Same to you. There's Christopher Voke. So you can invest in the Voke train. Why not? Louis Clifton, come down to the Paulie Sebastiani. Are you going to come into the studio? You've only got 50 seconds. What's your best, Paulie, again?
Speaker 18Hanky Alpha in the Fisher Stakes.
Speaker 12And what about you, Louis Clifton? Boring, but I'm following Paulie. Hanky Alpha. Just got to run, too.
Speaker 18Tough to master. Yep. Sebastiani, Clifton. What could go wrong? Hanky Alpha, just launch.
Speaker 12Mark Hunter will go, oh, you're bloody copying me. Litz Deal can win the Queen Elizabeth as well. Please. D-Lane won't let your man get too far away. Defiantly. He won't let your man get away.
Speaker 2I reckon Cosmic Crusader into Jolly Star the place. Good bet. And then Miss Envy. Why is she $6? What's happened? She lost a leg.
Speaker 18She'll go straight to the front, won't she?
Speaker 2Yeah, and the top gun stays. Good luck. Good on you, boys. Thank you, Paulie. Thank you. Louis, good luck. See you, Jay. This is Louis Clifton, Paulie Sebastiani, and that is, yeah, it was a great show. That was Giddy Up on this Friday. Thanks for your company.
