Getting Deeper Into Emotions Part 1 - You Are Loved

This episode of the "You Are Love" podcast, hosted by Novi and Auntie Jenny, begins with personal reflections. Auntie Jenny shares her appreciation for God's creation during a visit to Banff, while Novi discusses her meaningful family volunteer work at a halfway house supporting children with illnesses. The core of the episode is an educational segment on emotions, framed within a Christian context. The hosts explain that emotions like anger and guilt are neutral messengers signaling relational threats or breaches of trust, and their unhealthy expressions are blame and self-blame. They then delve into fear, presenting a practical framework: assess whether a fear is a possibility (manage with sound mind and questioning), a probability (take preparatory action), or a certainty (seek comfort and companionship). Throughout, they emphasize slowing down automatic reactions, practicing self-awareness, and relying on spiritual truth—citing scripture about power, love, and a sound mind—to process feelings healthily. The episode concludes by encouraging listeners to reach out for support and announcing a part two to continue the conversation.

Speaker 2 Hello It's Another day of You Are Love podcast. And with my favorite Co host, Auntie Jenny Magpentai. Hello, Auntie Jenny. Speaker 3 Hi, Novi. Speaker 2 Yes, good morning, good afternoon, good evening. Yes. So thank you so much for all our listeners. Thank you so much for just listening to us and we are so glad. I mean one team, platform and journey, and our goal is really to talk about what really matters most in our own individual relationship with God. But for the days, what is the favorite thing that you did this week if you want to share our audience? Speaker 3 Seeing that I did this week, oh wow, I enjoyed God's Majestic Creation. We went to bands. What is the band? Sakalgari bands. Banff. Ganda. So beautiful there. Raka. Relax. Majestic manga. Mountain sapos. Me lakes. Me lakes. Atasa Mountain me Lake Nanaman. That's me. Lake Nanaman. So big. Oh oh Ganda. Ganda. So that was my favorite thing to do. Tapas. Trees. Tapas. That's my favorite thing. Speaker 2 That's amazing. Speaker 3 So in awe of God's creation. Speaker 2 Yeah, well, my favorite thing is I'm grateful for God's 50 years of God's grace in my life. So I had. Yeah, I had a personal retreat actually Endemico favorite definitely number one in personal retreat. But also that has given me the privilege that I say. So yeah, yeah, it's a newly discovered place now where cancer patients or kids with. Illness, deliberating illness. Filipinas treatments. So it's a halfway house for kids. Pero they're doing their treatment. It was really nice. So my family and I did some activities, Kayla Todd crafts destiny I was supposed to do, read aloud to the kids activities. That's a treatment process. So it's just nice to see going in a way. To see my family doing that together, so you and your parent, I think one of my favorite things that I really did this week with my family. Speaker 3 That's nice. That's nice. I'm going to discover you. Speaker 2 To a friend 20 families or less than 20 so. In the area so halfway house donate area So. Blessings halfway house testimony because it's hard. It's hard to be grateful Area so. It's really I'm, I'm really thankful to God to be able to have that opportunity with my family, that's. Speaker 3 Good. Speaker 2 My favorite thing, so actually promote details. So if you have time you can go to child house. I think they have two branches. Dito Saqueson City. I think it's a salmonella. In a child house, your house is Haus. I'm not sure if in there in the Internet, but if you're interested to go to that community, you can go anytime. Speaker 3 That's good. That was you just said. I know you just brought food. Speaker 2 Volunteer then and a guide. Speaker 3 Nice. Yeah. Wow. Yeah. That's a good endeavor. No. Yeah. Speaker 2 So you're so about feelings episode for today, which we are going to talk about getting deeper in our emotions, so. At first we were able to differentiate, now she needs an emotion and then we went to getting deeper to feelings. Now we're going to focus on how God is really defining what really is emotion in a deeper way. So I am excited with this. Speaker 3 Yeah, yeah. So we're going to talk about those six basic emotions. So it's anger fear. And then anger, fear. What's the next? I'm looking at my notes. Anger, fear, sadness, sadness and numbness. And then last is gladness or happiness. So we're going to talk about those five, you surprise. I don't really have much notes but we can touch on it towards the end towards the second part of this. So but we're going to talk majorly about all those because it's a surprise. Naman Cafe is a pleasant mostly a pleasant emotion. So, but we're still going to touch talk on that. But so let's talk about anger and Yunkumagana, Nancy guilt. Speaker 2 I didn't see the same big emotions. No, that is. Speaker 3 Yes, big. Speaker 2 Big impact in our lives. Oh. Speaker 3 Yes. So this emotions again, like what we said the last time, emotions are not bad. They're not good. They're just messengers. They're just telling us what we really need and what what we really need and feelings are are. Thoughts about our emotions, or what a psychiatrist or psychologist called meta emotions, or the emotions about our emotions. That's what feelings are. And we talked about that the last time, Deba. So in first starting to go, Sapan anger and Union Hamadan Akhena guilt. So people think they're about pumping when it goes up and out into emotion at all. Pattern. People are allergic to this. The back of the pattern we feel. It's a negative emotion. But again, I want to emphasize that there are no bad and good emotions. All emotions are valid, but not all our expressions are so, so, so back it to anger. Not all the back anger and guilt when you think about it can. Can preserve relationships if you'll pay attention to it. Back here, that's a anger just is telling you that something or someone you're in danger of losing something or someone. Speaker 2 It's a warning sign. Speaker 3 It's a warning. What do you say? What do you call it? It's supposed to restore Paramel Masamang nya re it's a relationship or me, masamang ginawasayo, Nakayilang and mong in restore Kailang Mekayilang and kangawen leba, for example. For example, Pumunta, Kadun, Seby. So that's anger relationship no is in danger of. That's the right thing to do. Diba pero, let me clean this up. That's the right thing to do. Just the act that you acknowledge that you did something that's not right would help relationships. Diba pero. It's it's communicating that this is yours and I did something wrong to it I you cinco so that's very young anger to say. It's when you feel that something that was yours was messed up, or men and Papas in the olan, in the in ayos, that's when anger comes from you. Guilt, the money that affects my relationship with that person. So you knew Gala Onion. So Padka, you anger that means this person that's that's important to you or this something that's important to you is being threatened responsibility. I was just listening to a podcast earlier, take Craig Richelle, and I'm can young and can young. On Canyon guest was Erwin McManus sabiana ano kite Nahin demo. Even if it was not your fault, it's your responsibility to do something about it because say. But again, I'm I'm saying this out of context. Let's just continue with this OK relationship. But I'm saying it out of context. But I'm gonna take out of context anyway. So responsible dunsa SA rupture or dunsa salanyares the relationship should take ownership and do something to repair it. Deba so just said there's trust involved. So anger is really about trust being broken, if it was done to me and my trust is being endangered of broken being broken. That's called gilt Naman Debaso. That's healthy anger. Now the unhealthy anger is caused by it to you unhealthy version and anger. Debayo and I have done something to negatively affect the outcome of our relationship, but I hold you responsible for it. That's called blame. That's unhealthy responses to anger. That's blame. So on the other hand unhealthy guilt says you've done something to to threaten our relationship. But Segura I I'm the one responsible. Unhealthy guilt the man is self blame. Excuse me. So anger and guilt are not the issues like gigging issue young? When it's unhealthy, so when you feel anger that means something's being threatened so that but you need to pay attention to it. But the whole guy did to set out and focusing. I feel my thrust was broken so either so Sabine was Akanya in a way. Again all the all emotions are valid but not all expressions are. So if you cannot say it in a way and I'm a preserve you relationship, then you have to cool down and wait until you can. But you have to say it because if feeling mungat, your relationship is being threatened. So either explain the Hindi or at least maka Mali. Now if you need to repent or if you don't need to repent, then for me, I know that probably I have to put a break. Mona, with this relationship I see now, you're not taking responsibility. And my DEBA, so again. Do not do not do onion forgiveness. Do onion again. Like what we said before, forgiveness is forgiveness is one way. It's me. It's between me and God. But reconciliation are two way. If I if the other person is not willing to do their part to repair the relationship, I don't think there will be reconciliation. But I I forgive. I will always forgive because that's between me and God. Diva. But reconciliation, Even if the other person is not willing to accept their part in breaking the trust or in breaking or rupturing the relationship, I don't think I can. I can go on the back. So union anger and union anger. And what do you call this? Guilt. Yum. Kanyakamagana. The second emotion, it's a big emotion also, is fear. Fear. Sometimes we push fear, but it's help. It's meant to help us project into the future. And it it's meant to help us consider what might happen. Prepare Tayo Deba. This emotion is is supposed to help us stop and take stock. We push it away. Instead. Nah, TT Gil Tayo And to think Nah back it somebody regarding your vehicle. OK, but there's a challenge before me. Is this challenge so big that my abilities are not up to par or I don't have the resources for it? The Basso fear is actually an emotion that can potentially provide for us a chance to cultivate wisdom, if we will listen to it. And feelings? Nothing about fear is either to meet the klutayo or pino, push away. Not so we could. When we face fear, when we face our fears squarely, we learn when to go diba, when to stop diba. We learn what to do, what resources. Diba. So how do we deal with fear? Maroon can three things that you could do tabbing up 3 three things that you could consider three future projections but Mayfair ka, Mayfair KA about possibility about a probability or certainty. I think we've discussed this before and the by feeling Mona based on something that's that can possibly happen because it has happened before, Deba. So or is it if it's probable or something that I'm just creating in my mind probable palam? Or is it a certainty nagyarina or predator legend. So let's talk about that possibility, the BA from possible certain event, my own positive or negative that might happen. The BA is An example is I might be rejected if I if I say this or if I put myself out there the BA. I might be rejected so possibility on it might happen Leva So what Canon what do we need to do So that means that territory is in our head. OK reject so Canon. Sidir kunaba kuan ryun kuan ryun areas again this is fear. Somebody has to help you and talk you through this, because I'm. Unusual nothing response of fear is Ayoko, Tata Boko Indigo era pen tutorial is this can this possibly happen? OK, compassible. What are the data that's supporting that it can happen? Speaker 2 Part of how you manage it, you know. Speaker 3 Yes, you. Speaker 2 Don't even aware of that possibility probability. Speaker 3 And again we have to go back. The first step is being self aware, being aware of fear, anger so importante for us to do this to be. To slow down to in the you the you automatic reactions nothing. But we have learned through the years we really and it will always occur and goes up and earlier the before we we started the recording. It's really best to slow down. It's really best to have a habit of slowing down considering things the Basso. Speaker 2 So. Speaker 3 Where the Montana millions are really modern questions that what would I actually do? If I succeed or what would I actually do? Liba? What would I do if I if I am really rejected or what would really happen if I'm what's the worst thing that can happen if Liba? Those questions you can ask yourself. Osige Kumba reject na apple? What's the worst thing that can happen Liba? Or if I'm not rejected then what could happen? So when you consider this, you're thinking of both sides. Now I will. I'm fear Muy hasima Papa. Is it K? If we push you away more oh so, so that's could be possibility. Now we're talking, so NASA head muy on the back. You probability naman is about waiting until something that's within possibility. Become to become a probability. So you possibility had Mulan diva. You're just dealing with it in your head. Speaker 2 Probability the. Speaker 3 Thoughts. Not the thoughts. Possibility, but probability. Wedding maniare? There's something you can do. Hans Naman Hans, what can I do? Possibility. Because it's a headline. Speaker 2 So so you think part, now you can control it. Speaker 3 Yes, you can do something about you can do something about it. Yes. So you prepare. You practice for example or possibly exam coming. So exam coming. So I better prepare. There's something that's good. So my own certain thing a man you last, so you possibility ahead. He managed. Muyansa thought small. Face it, the BA, Deal with it. Speaker 2 And then if it's really probably going to happen, do something about it and then action. Speaker 3 Yes, you action. And you certain Tinaman use your heart if it's a be hand Wagman. Wagman is he PEN. Sometimes people usually think only about negative experiences needing comfort and validation. But positive naman may actually require for the person to give themselves more room to be in their emotions. So either you need validation or you need you need somebody to go with you through the emotion on the Basso union. Last you the last. Future projection is the realm of certainty, which is talagan maniari. So there's nothing certain in life except death and taxes. Death and taxes, so. So, for example, certain American Medical diagnosis of an illness. OK. Yeah, certain. Speaker 2 It's either it's a bad thing or it's a good thing, so. Speaker 3 The bad Use your heart, meaning somebody who could feel with you, who could share with you in those emotions. Then look for somebody who could walk with you through it. They need comfort. They they don't need to be fixed. You don't need to be fixed. You just need someone who could comfort or who could give you strength. Speaker 2 It's like false expectation appearing real. Speaker 3 Yes. Speaker 2 So that low classy and possibility probability or yes. Speaker 3 That's good. Speaker 2 You look for somebody who could give you strength, or if it's a happy situation, you look for somebody who could also share the choice with you, Yes. Speaker 3 Goodbye. That's good. So, so you have to assess, assess your fears and an important guys, we really have to be aware. Speaker 2 Yeah, we really have to be aware and we sometimes it takes a lot of courage to face that fear. Sometimes we have the tendency alcohol, like my background before, but my fear in the sometimes we really need to face it and God is using that that certainty for us to be transformed inside out. And it is something that even though it's negative or positive, there's a purpose why we have this diva? Speaker 3 Yeah, Sabbing and Viktor Frankel. From what I remember, I read Anusha. He's a Jew. He's a he's a famous anoren psychiatry. Sabina. There's a space between stimulus and response. There's a space, so there's a space emotion. There's a space before you can respond, and then that space is also filled already with your belief. Yeah, importante and wordly. God, you see in that space. Don Malalaman, what do you believe about yourself? What do you believe about the situation and ultimately what you believe about yourself? It's based on what do you believe God has said about you or what do you believe about yourself importante. And I always say then when when things are normal like the mataya normally. But when you are in a stressful situation, that's when you are postponing grapes. Speaker 2 We always go to the word, and we keep the word in our heart to say that's what you're going to go, that's where you're going to go in the space between stimulus and response, yeah. Yeah, that's second Timothy 170. Before God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but the spirit of power, love and sound mind. So even version Atta, self-control, you think about it, you. Speaker 3 Love, power, sound mind. Sound mind is the thoughts. Speaker 2 Oh, you know, impossibility. Power is you can do some action is the. Speaker 3 Emotion when it's a certain. The love of God. If it's a if it's a possibility then sound mind. If it's a probability then power. Do something about it. Speaker 2 The Holy Spirit can help you do something. Speaker 3 Yes. Oh oh, so if it's certainty, then look for love. Look for love. Look for people who can love you so, not diva so. Union. Union two, Yeah. So union two biggest emotions and we could discuss the next, the next three. Speaker 2 So part two. Yeah. Part one and three process of processing your fear. No. Processing these emotions about listen, there's nothing. No. And I'm going to I think we need to be intentional now. Once the emotion comes. No. Once this anger. Guilt. No. Ate guilt. Speaker 3 Anger and guilt. Speaker 2 And then do my time. Ready. Nothing. A meeting to possibility, probability and certainty. Grab it. Thank you. Thank you so much, ATI Jenny. So if you have any questions about your emotions, actually it takes a lot of time. Speaker 3 But you have to start practicing it. Speaker 2 It's not gonna come since. No I told you I love bad guys with you and that's why I'm so thankful. So who in the new mind in the end in the new Maggage sometimes can say did not even navigate no part one so Please wait for our Part 2 and we are so excited. Also na machining book Kyos Amin Part 2. Maramin Maramin Salaman. So if you have any questions if you have you think the para will encourage certainty. Fear helps project into the future, allowing us to consider possibilities, prepare for challenges, and cultivate wisdom by facing fears squarely and learning when to act or stop.

The three projections are possibility (something might happen), probability (something is likely to happen), and certainty (something will happen). Each requires different responses, such as using sound mind, taking action, or seeking comfort.

Forgiveness is a one-way act between an individual and God, while reconciliation is a two-way process that requires both parties to repair the relationship. Forgiveness can occur without reconciliation if the other person is unwilling.
