Geoff & Gavin: Date Night // Geoff to Genesis [128]

The podcast episode blends humor, nostalgia, and personal storytelling to explore the dynamics of the group’s creative process and personal connections. The team reflects on their long-standing traditions, like the now-unusual "Dolly Popping" ritual, and celebrates the growing collaboration behind a new podcast, *Regulation Brainstorm*, which has evolved into a playful concept called *Regulation Gatekeeper*. Members share candid stories of missed content and feelings of FOMO, emphasizing how their shared experiences deepen their bond. A lively debate arises over the idea of installing a home emergency hotline, sparked by imaginative suggestions such as a "Go Bird" code or a "Garfield phone," leading to both serious and absurd discussions about preparedness. The episode also features heartfelt moments, including Jeff’s emotional quest for a "G-Jeff" souvenir, which ties into his Welsh heritage and childhood, and a nostalgic look back at a *Twin Peaks* date night that disrupted their routines. A pizza count adds a lighthearted, competitive element that mirrors their real-life interactions. Throughout, the conversation reveals a deep sense of camaraderie, blending humor with vulnerability to create a rich, personal atmosphere that reflects the values of the show—community, creativity, and shared experience.

Hello and welcome to another episode of the regulation podcast. This is number 128. My name is Jeff Ramsey with me as always, Eric Bedouard, Gavin Free, Nick Schwartz, Andrew Pantin. That's a lot of names. Hello, Dolly Poppin. How's it been, Dolly Poppin? How long have you been Dolly Poppin now, Andrew? I'm, you know, it's, we're nearing the end of the year. So I'm really trying to get my pops in. It's much possible. This is, I'm aware of three episodes in a row now that he's hard popped. I think he keeps Dolly Poppin, man. It's a lot before. Are you against the, I can reduce the Dolly Poppins if it's too much. I'm loving it. No, I think it's just unusual. I think that's why we pointed it out. Yeah, it's, it's like we got to the end of the year and I haven't been Dolly Poppin. So I got to be Dolly Poppin. Yeah, I don't, I don't have a problem. For all of that. For all of that. For all of that. For all of that. For all of that. I don't think it was criticism more just acknowledgement that things are, are different now. They are different. That's true. Making a real effort to pop. (laughs) Anybody else, Nick, you making any efforts to pop lately? No, not really. Okay. How's everybody doing? I have been gone. I was on vacation for eight days and we didn't record last week. So I haven't spoken to most of you in a couple of minutes. That's true. We didn't record the podcast is what I'm referring to. That's true, I'm just saying. I'm just, I'm vocalizing that you missed out on stuff. That was my point and emphasizing. You trying to make you feel bad? Yeah, I don't, I guess, I guess he's trying to dig. He explained to Jeff on Monday what it is that we recorded that's not out by the time of this recording that it was just Andrew lighting himself on fire for one hour straight. Yeah, it was, yeah, it was a great time. I don't know. (laughs) Is that the most concentrated depletion of energy you've ever had? It might be. I don't know. It was a bad day. Like it was, I had a terrible sleep that night. I think I slept for like two and a half hours. Woke up, did that, felt so drained after recording that. Had an hour nap recorded a gears and then streamed. But yeah, it was depleted. You show coming out soon. Yeah, you guys are teasing a new show. Do you want to say what it is? 'Cause I don't even really know what it is. I just know I saw the title. So I'm in Arizona right on vacation for eight days and I see the calendar. And on the calendar is you guys are recording something called regulation brainstorm and my heart immediately sunk to my feet because of two reasons. One, I experience, for the first time, I think in my life, I experience FOMO now and it is because of regulation. I don't think I had it at face, honestly. But I have it now and when you guys make stuff and I'm not there, I wanna die. Like I wanna curl up into a ball and die because I know I'm missing something so much fun. And the idea that you guys are recording A new show and B it was called regulation brainstorm or brainstorming, which is my other favorite thing to do is to brainstorm and to come up with new ideas. And I have no idea that the show is that it's just what it was titled. I had a morning sitting at a diner, like a Route 66 diner in Arizona where I was just like shoveling waffles into my mouth and just fucking had a thousand yard stairs thinking about all the fun you were having without me at that exact moment. Just feeling like a loser. It is an idea that branched out in my head at least to what will be a much larger idea than I'm gonna pitch to you guys on Monday. But it was a supplemental idea where it was when we came together and kind of like discussed an idea for a thing to do and then we kind of made contributions and edited it a little bit and then recorded it. And it's a lot for a first episode. I'm excited to do another one where I'm not as much of the focus. And I think you'll be great at it, Jeff, when it eventually gets to your head. It is originally called Regulation Bodyguard and then it ended up getting a brainstormed regulation gatekeeper. - Yes, yeah, regulation gatekeeper I think is what we ended up going with it. - It's so good, it's so good. - So you're saying I'll be good at gatekeeping? - No, you don't even know, dude. You have no idea. - Yeah, there is a genuine, I think, concern and maybe condiments will be part of it, but it could be a condiment moment for you. But you're in full control, so I don't think it'll be a negative explosion ultimately. - I get it, I'm used for you. - You'll be on the stand. - I'm always in full control. - Damn. - Okay. - I liked it to Andrew giving us all guns, putting them in our hands and then pointing all of our hands at his head. Yet somehow, I think the weirdest person in the video is Nick, I don't know how that worked out. - Nick is the weirdest person in the video by a mile. - It's not close, it's not close. - Hey Gavin, I have a question for you as a bit of an aside. - Okay. - Just a second, I threw down a line that I felt like it was pretty cool and I said it in the cool way I was hoping, which is I got a new street bud, I'm always in control. That was me lampooning Gordon Cole. Did I pull it off as cool as he did in that episode 17 of Twin Peaks that we watched together? - Oh. - Where he was like, I still got to wear a count bloody. (laughing) - You tried to fit it, I felt like you're recording something but I couldn't place it. - That was such a funny moment. - He was so good, holy shit. - So you two had a date night, finally. - Why is it gotta be a date night? Why can't Gavin and I just hang out 'cause we're best friends? - Because you had been attempting to schedule it for multiple events. - Yeah, you don't do that. - My wife kept bugging me. - It was definitely a date night. At some point I texted Gavin, she was like, "Fuckin' text him, you wanna hang out?" And that's why texted him, and it said she was watching, and then he had to, you know, whatever it's called, like silence mode on, and it's like alert anyway, and obviously I'm not gonna do that 'cause that's like the rudest thing on earth, and my wife pushed it, and it's like, no, alert him now. He needs to know. And I'm like, no, don't do that. That's the rudest thing ever. And she's like, he's your best friend. And I felt so terrible, and I didn't know how to tell you. I didn't push that button, Gavin. I would never have alerted you anyway. She did. - Oh, well, if it makes you feel better, I didn't notice it. I mean, it all comes up on my computer, so that's where I started. - Yeah, it's that one sat with me for a little bit. - Are we talking about the slack when somebody has their, like, silence mode on, there's a button when you send a message that says notify anyway? - Not on slack on text. It's the same thing, but on text. - Really, I only get that on slack. - You don't have the same phones as we do. - No, definitely not, but I was gonna say, I sent back in the face days. I sent Larry a let's play related slack at like 2 a.m., and I accidentally hit the button. And it was my heart sank. I was like, oh, fuck. Oh, no, oh, I feel so bad. Just please let's the thought it was so important. No, it was so not important. It was just a, I had a thought, and I wanted to make sure I sent it out before I forgot. And then I accidentally hit the button, and the worst feeling in the world was seeing him respond to it. - Ah. - I was like, oh, oh, no, I'm so sorry. I did not mean to do that. - That just means he was up. - Yeah, he was up after the alert woke him up. - Yeah, exactly. - I'll tell you, I'm a hundred percent sweating. - He was like, the Rooster Teeth phone. - In my head at least, like there's no escape from that. There's no, I can't convince myself otherwise that I didn't wake him up at a time that he did not need to be up. - What if we all had an old school emergency telephone hotline in our house? - Yeah, I think my wife would like, kill me? I think if we woke her up in a regulation emergency. - And what is a regulation emergency here? - Well, I don't know, we haven't had one yet. - So you want a bat phone, essentially. - I think we need to come to terms. - I guess no. I think more emergencies would occur when we have a mechanism to declare emergency. - Okay, agree. I agree with you. - Do you think so? - A hundred percent. - Yeah, totally. - You're inviting emergency by adding this into our homes. I'm okay with that. I'm okay with inviting emergency in, but that is 100% what's happening. - If we'd all had like a red old school help line phone, sat in our house the last six years, I don't think he would have run. - Hmm, I disagree. - I disagree also. - Like what would have run it? - I don't think it would turn into a, why aren't you here? - Yeah, yeah, you would have just used it. - Like, when I slept through the stream, it would have been used. When you slept through Mario Party where we all woke up at like, (laughing) or at least I woke up at 5.30 a.m. - I don't think either of those, they're not emergencies. - Right, no, I agree, they're not emergencies. You're right, but I don't think that that means the phone wouldn't be used. - I personally would not have used the phone in either of the, well, especially the one I was asleep would have used it. - The other one, I also would have used all of us. - Hey, guys, have a sleep. (laughing) - I would do it at four in the morning, constantly, and when you pick up the phone, I'd go, okay, cool, I was just a test to make sure it works. Thank you. - There's no testing if the emergency system allowed. I gotta test it. Otherwise, I won't know that it's gonna work when I do it. - You have to test and emergency system. I'm kind of with Jeff on this. - I think it's bad to test it. - No, there's no point in having it if you don't test it because then you can't rely on it because then when you need it, it doesn't fucking work because you didn't test it and you didn't know that it didn't work. - How if I did test you'll not have a emergency phone? I used my phone five hours a day. What are you talking about? (laughing) - When is my phone not on my hand? - All right. (laughing) - That was it? That was your big gotcha? - Oh, he's sometimes Gavin just throw stuff out there. And I think the accent carries it sometimes. (laughing) If you were from Philadelphia, you would come across so much dumber than you do in those moments. (laughing) - Yeah, you'd call it water-training, like we would make fun of your way more, man. - Yeah, you were water, I'm onion. It's weird, you're real do-a. - I agree that an emergency system should be tested if it's life of death, but I love the idea of a dusty, untested emergency system that may or may not work. - Man. - Not in an emergency when it comes for a phone. - Mm-mm-mm. I like the idea of Philly Gav. - Philly Gav. - You know what, that's what we should be using data centers and AI for, making shit like Philly Gav. - Philly Gav. Yeah, that should deplete water as Philly Gav. - South Philly Gav. - Not Philly Gav, South Philly Gav. (laughing) - The only way that I'm into your emergency system, Gavin, is if we all have a key that needs to be turned for it to be activated, if we all agree. - But then how would we wait? What if there's an emergency where somebody is unable to turn the key, and that's the emergency? - Yeah, exactly. But then who, wait, I was just trying to sneak this pie without it ever going off. - Nah, that is stupid, that's Philly Andrew talking. - That's it is. - It's classic Philly Andrew. - Yeah, yeah. - That was the Philly Andrew. - Yeah, 'cause I would never turn my key. - We all got to turn the key to say go bird. (laughing) - What if you can sleep the emergency phone for like eight hour periods? - Go bird does such a funny say for it. (laughing) - It's like some secret agent shit where you have to say the code for it, go bird. - Did you Gavin just sneak in? What if we can sleep the phone for an hour? - Eight hours, I think. - For eight hours. Well, then you really don't need to have the fucking, like, yeah, the emergency is becoming lesser and lesser. - That's only used in the case where you want to sleep so good, you don't even care about emergencies. - That's every night of my life. - That's every night. - No. - You can't be every night. - I don't care about emergencies from 11 p.m. to 5 p.m. - No kidding. - You wouldn't care about emergency? It's an emergency. - I'm asleep. If I have the ability to snooze it for eight hours, what does it matter? - I just don't think there's need for an emergency phone. I just don't think we're gonna get it. I don't think it's gonna land. - I think we need to figure out how to use the Garfield phone. - Yeah, no kidding. - We still haven't set up a Garfield phone. - That's true. - I think it's set up. - We haven't. - Let's get the Garfield phone working and then we can discuss the others. - Didn't you test our emergency Garfield phone and it didn't work? - Yeah, and then I said, I fixed it. Let me ask you guys a question. We have a Garfield phone, right? - Yeah. - Yeah. - Not for emergencies. - No, no, it's not for emergencies. We're discussing putting in land lines in our homes for emergencies. I'd like to go on record before it gets lost as saying as I am for it, but I will be testing it consistently and constantly because I wanna make sure that it works in the event that we do need it. But assuming we were to do it, what would our phones be? We already have a Garfield phone. I kinda wanna football phone. What kind of phone would you guys want? - You wanna football phone? - That's interesting. - That's so interesting 'cause I don't think of you as much of a football guy. - Yeah, it's more of a holdover from my childhood. It's, oh, Snoopy phone's good. - Have you seen basketball phones before? I feel like you'd be much better. - Yeah, okay. - And you're still opting for football. - I think the football phone, the shape lends itself, and it's just such an iconic item from my childhood. Like this was on TV every day of my childhood. - Oh, yours is like this. - Oh, it's more illustrated. - That one's cool too. That one's cool too, I've seen them both. I was, I don't know that I've seen a flip open football phone. I like flip open football phone way more. That's cool 'cause you can just throw it. Like when you hang up, you close it, no way. Dude, spiral, I'm spiking it. I'm doing the achy shop. - Oh, you should have that. Should be like a baseball phone that tracks speed. - Yeah. - And it has the cord, so just it comes back to you. - Well, I like this idea a lot. - Oh, you know, dude, you know what I want. I like the idea of a Snoopy phone. - I want the bullpen phone. (laughing) - I want it. - That's a great phone, dude. - I want it to go to the left of the phone. - That's a great phone. - Yeah, the matchups look good. A couple of righties coming up. I want to go to my left, I want to go to my left handers. - Now, are you saying you want to be Tony LaRusa as well here? - Yeah, I look, yeah, you know, his legacy is just so strong. He's done so much good, you know? - He definitely ended strong with the white socks. - I love the idea of a bull, dude. Going to like the bullpen phone, oh, that'd be so. - So you were winning Eric over here. - You got me with football phone. You got him with bullpen phone. - So what is a bullpen phone? You're calling? - That's, they actually have this, Andrew, in baseball. When you need to call out to your bullpen because your pitcher is like tired, you can pick up the phone and it goes to the bullpen. A guy picks up and you go, hey, get more a hone up, warm up, that thing? - Oh, it's awesome. - Why don't you just go there? - The bullpen is across the field. - You can't go there. You'd have to go through the playable field to get there. - Why don't you just stand with them all the time? - Why? - What? - Wait, do the way? - Just be in the bullpen. - You can't see the fields from the bullpen. You wouldn't be able to manage the game. - You can't see the field where's the bullpen down the street. - No, it's like, Gavin, think about, think about when we went to a round rock express game. - Yeah. - The dugouts are by home plate, like on either side of first and third base. The bullpen's are out in left field and right field. - Behind the home run wall. - Behind the, (laughs) - That's where they warm up. - Oh, that's stupid. - Why? - You know how much space it takes to house a bullpen? - How big is a bullpen? - It's gotta be at least 40 feet long. - Yeah, and it's where everyone hangs out if you're a relief pitcher. So it's pretty big. - And it's gotta, yeah, it's gotta contain what, eight to 12 pitchers probably? - Yeah, it's out there. And then, you know, if you're a relief pitcher, you just watch the game, you just watch the game from behind defense like a cage d'annibal. - Well, I think it should be like a life god in the bullpen. - Oh, you, yeah, but then you're gonna, you might get hit by a ball. - Yeah. - Wait, if everyone in the crowd might get hit by a bull. Suck it up. (laughs) - I don't know if I've ever heard Gavin say suck it up. - No kidding. (laughs) - Also, they used to, Gavin, just so you know, the bullpen, where it's behind something, is a relatively new thing in terms of baseball. It just used to be in foul territory. - Yeah. - Where the ball would just come like whizzing by you. (laughs) - Interesting. - That's way better. - I also like that Gavin is simultaneously arguing four phones for us and against phones where it's clearly demonstrated as useful in baseball. - Yeah, you're right. (laughs) - Andrew, maybe you've seen it, I bet Jeff has. Have you ever seen that the prank phone call where the guys find, I think it's Oklahoma States? - No, no, they call maybe Texas A&M, they find the phone number for the bullpen. - Oh no. - And these, like college kids call and they say, get AJ Minter up and moving around. And the guy goes, "What?" And he says, "Get Minter up and moving around." They hang up and then the camera cuts and they show AJ Minter taking off his stuff and going up and taking off, storming up. - It's so good, it's so, I never occurred to be so bad. - So you could theoretically wrong number a bullpen. - Yup, yup, that's crazy. I don't know why I never thought about the idea that it's just on the network. Like in my head it had a special bullpen number. - I thought it would be intercom. I'll be honest, I have not seen that and I always assumed that it was like a closed system that they only worked with each other. Like a tin can in a string. - But that was like the Joe Montana thing and I felt right how they had like sideline phones and he would just call his wife, Trinket. - He calls wife. - Oh, I loved it. - Yup. - So cool. What kind of phone would you have, Nick? - I think a goofy phone. - You mean like the Disney goofy or like a silly phone? - It's Bo. - Oh, okay. - Why does? Wait, I found a different picture and it looks like he's praying. (laughing) - I like the one Eric posted 'cause it looks like goofy is like scheming. And the one Nick posted, goofy's just sitting. - Why are there two? That is the great question. - He looks. - It's the same phone with two different poses. It makes no sense. - He looks like the bug's bunny meme where he says forgive me Lord, but it's time to go back to the old thing. - He looks to me like an old guy sitting outside a train station on a bench waiting for the train to show up. - Isn't that the same pose? - Are they in the same pose? But his head is looking up, isn't it? - No, his head is up, his head is down. - Yeah, you can clearly see the gray of his eyes on the bottom and see that it's not there on the top. Yeah, so his eyes rub off. He's zooming in him just sitting like his head is down. It has to be something like a hobo pat. It's hobo goofy. What if he's like, it is hobo goofy. He's melancholy. He's got a pillow with a patch on it. He's not doing well. Oh, maybe he's sleeping. Yeah, he's like, it's vagrant goofy. He is. He's like, he's like sleeping and then you pick up the phone and he probably like opens his eyes. Hard times goofy. I'm picking up. Okay. The hotline from control. That's pretty hot. I just love. Yeah. Doesn't it? I can't even dial out on it. That's great. You know how it can be in the summer. You take a trip. What a good. It's so good. Control resident is fucking awesome. All right. It is a really fun game. It is a game. I have a history of fucking up control games in ways not intended. I played it backwards, I would say, was my first issue or you go to the open zones and I did the park first and then it was very clear that the park was supposed to be the last area that you do because I got to the boss fight and it was like, hey, you need to unlock abilities before you can proceed. And I just the order I ended up going and just from exploring the world is like I clearly did the first zone, but I thought she told you the good order. Yeah, I just started exploring like I know like she she lays out, but I was like, okay, I'm just going to like try to find side quests and collectibles because I love the Lord of that world. So I was looking around the second mistake I made in that game. And I had someone give me a heads up, but I misinterpreted it or they did I don't remember if I misunderstood or if they just explained it in a specific way, but that game is unique in the sense of you have one weapon, but it is a weapon that can adjust and change to be different things. So it has like four optional forms of attack and then like different counters and there's like a primary attack and a secondary attack. And I was told to make sure to upgrade the secondary attack, even if you don't really use it because it goes towards the overall damage of the weapon. I figured out what playstyle I liked really quickly in that. So I picked my primary, my secondary and I upgraded those and I did not touch any of the other stuff until near the end of the game and then realized that even the forms of attack, you don't use upgrade the overall damage of the weapon because it's technically all the same weapon. So when you play resident, make sure to upgrade everything, even stuff you don't use. But that's what you just described though. No, I thought, 'cause there's four primary attacks and there's four secondary attacks. So I thought I only needed to upgrade the primary attack I was using and the secondary attack I was using. Doesn't it tell you to upgrade? It doesn't, I mean, it doesn't matter. You're not paying attention to what the thing wants you to do anyway. So I don't know why I'm asking. And already have. Sorry. Do you think you were more confused by the warning than if you just figured out yourself? The warning. What warning? Well, who ever told you this information? Oh, no, I was, I was like, you know what, that's a good tip because I didn't notice that and I'm going to do that and I noticed it was upgrading it, but it never, I never connected to even if I'm using a different type of that weapon that it would also help. The overall weapon, regardless of what you're using, because it's kind of a unique weapon system in that game. Yeah. It's a stick. It's a stick, but it's a stick that can be like six different sticks. It's true. Oh, man. It's like a universal stick weapon. That game also has such a great joke of the first, I guess it depends on the order you do it. There is a resident boss in that game, which is like each sector has a main bad guy and there is one bad guy that is a fire bad guy. And I'm sure Eric recognized it, but there's such a funny reveal. I didn't realize this person was the voice actor of that character until they, they indicated, but it is almost a joke in itself, just seeing them. You know what I'm talking about, Eric? No, I didn't, I didn't clock who the voice actor was. Really? Yeah. Here. I'm going to post a photo of you beat this giant flaming enemy and then you get an collectible of their key card of what they look like. I grabbed that, but I think I just glossed right over it. I didn't even notice. I'm going to post it. Look at it. I feel like you should. I went, this is, I find this hilarious, Gavin has, is going to have no idea who this person is. Right. And that was accurate. I texted him about it. It was like, Hey, do you know who this is? He said no. Oh, I know who that is. I'm not, I have no idea. What is this? That's young gravy. Young gravy is the voice actor that character. Oh my God. So I had such a funny reaction of, you fight this giant flaming boss and then you grabbed their character ID and I didn't know that he did the voice work of the character. So it's just this thing. If you fight this giant boss and then it's young gravy and I thought that is such a funny joke. I didn't even clock. I didn't even clock that that was him at all. How wild? I grabbed that and I'm like, Oh, how interesting. You get to see this guy's, Oh, I wonder what this character's all about. Oh, he's about white rap. Awesome. Like what? Young gravy is a sound cloud kind of like comedy rapper, Gavin. Yeah. He's mostly known, at least I know of him because he likes to date older women. He likes to date like mom. Yeah. And he's done some voice acting like he was in, um, fuck that superhero game. That's really good that I'm blanking the name of. But yeah, I guess he did the voice acting for the character. So they included him, uh, his likeness for the collectible. But I just, it's randomly encountering young gravy felt like such a control universe thing anyway that I just thought it was a funny like joke type thing, but that's a great game. I highly recommend it. I have a follow up note about, uh, taste stuff, tongue stuff. Okay. I was thinking like, cause I've talked in the, I've talked in the past about toothpaste memory, which is where when you switch, when you switch toothpaste, it's weird. It's weird like twice and then you just get used to it. It's weird twice and then you get used to it. Like, you're like, Oh, that's just tastes, tastes different. And then you're immediately over it within like two brushes. But where is that stored like if I went back in time to when I was like 20 and I brushed my teeth, would I suddenly recognize the different toothpaste or would it be the toothpaste I had last night in my 20s? And would it not register? I mean, I don't, I don't think it's any different than if you drink coffee every day for a year and then one day drank tea and you go, Oh, this is different. And then after the second cup of tea, you'd be like, Oh, I'm used to it. Just different flavor from different product. Yeah, I don't know if I have that experience with toothpaste. It's every time I use it, I go this, take it. kind of gross. I'm also not switching up toothpaste that often. That's all so true. Yeah, I feel like when I switch countries, that's interesting. Yeah, you have unique problems, I think. That's interesting. I always thought it was a universal toothpaste, toothpaste being weird twice and then it's normal. Is that just not the case? I think it's a thing where you're anticipating a flavor and then it's a different flavor. I think that's all it is. Do you have a different brand depending on the country you're in? I guess even if it's the same brand, like there is always, it seems like ingredient taste differences between the US and anywhere else product. This is one of those things where you're going to be like toothpaste in the UK taste better and toothpaste in America makes me shit more. No, I don't think I have a preference. I just have a noticeable difference when I switch. I have like a, oh yeah, this toothpaste. Do you feel that way about other things like, oh, this pillow, all right, it's a different pillow. I'm sleeping in a different house tonight. It's weird the first night. Do you have it with other things as well or is it just taste? I think it's taste. I tried to find a tasty toothpaste recently and I have not had any luck. What does that mean? It's just toothpaste is terrible tasting just in general. It's just not a pleasant experience, I would say. I think it's fine. It's totally unnoticeable. I have no idea what my toothpaste tastes like. You actually find it to be bad? It's just, it's not a taste I would ever seek. It's not a flavor I'd ever want. It's fine for what it is. It's not like this is the worst feeling ever. But I just have never had a toothpaste experience or is like, oh, this is, I like the taste of this. The flavor is just like goopy gum. It's like no different than I've mentioned. Maybe it's, I've leaned maybe too far into mint and I'm not a big mint person in general. So if you got the KFC fried chicken toothpaste, that's like a little more up your alley. I would definitely try it. Oh, you're a freak. You're nuts. I would, I'm unfazed by that as a trying thing. There's, I believe it was a Canadian collaboration recently did a craft mac and cheese soda and that I have no interest in. That just is too much to me. So a KFC toothpaste feels about a pumpkin spice toothpaste. Totally appropriate. That feels fine. Okay. What if it's really far in like the other direction where it's Swedish fish? That sounds awesome. Yeah. Gavin, I agree. His fish toothpaste sounds phenomenal. I don't want to eat Swedish fish right now. Let alone have brushed my teeth with it. Well, here's, this is mint free. It's simply lemon flavored. Is that something that you're looking for? Straight up lemon is always dangerous. It's always straight up lemon is always dangerous. Does lemonade refresh? I had this thought recently. Yes. Okay. I don't know if it hydrates in the same way other drinks. Okay. I was at a grocery store the other day and I was looking at they had lemonade on sale. And I thought about buying it. But then I thought I don't think I ever felt like my thirst was parched after lemonade. Isn't that like a go-to for refreshing? Well, it's like the ideal like you're out in the hot sun and you find lemonade and it's refreshing. I feel like that's definitely the adrenaline. Yeah. You know, sometimes you just find it out in the wild. Well, it's like a lemonade stand. Like in my head when I'm picturing this oasis, it is a lemonade stand. You come across it's extremely hot. You're relieved by the aid of lemon. Is that real? How often do you come in across a stand? Not often. Much less these days. Nobody has cash these days. I don't feel like you can really even do a lemonade stand. You can just tap. You can get these little retas. I don't know if I trust a kid with a tap. He doesn't definitely range. If it's like 12 and up, I think between the 12 and 15, which is I feel like kind of pushing it for maybe lemonade stand, I would trust the tap. If you're like five through nine, this is a scam by your parents that you're just not aware of. I'm just feeling my information. I don't trust that. Well, they don't it's like scrape your info and a tap at it. I think they just they can absolutely can. Oh, I don't know. You said tap. You said on a tap and my brain went to on an insert and you're right. I don't know how it tap, but you'd think they'd be able to on a tap. Couldn't it work the same way on a tap as it does on an insert. I don't think kids are tap and really when I we look, I run across a lemonade stand or a girl scout cookies stand pretty common in Austin. And my wife is anytime she sees a kid, especially a little girls out there selling girl scout cookies or lemonade stands. She will if we don't have cash, she will drive to a gas station, get cash, go back and buy something from them. No matter what 100% of time because she said and she always said support women in business. These are female business owners. You got to support them. I feel like maybe if you don't have a tap, you'd have a QA code there or a Venmo or something. But my point being is like, I never see that when I go because I'm at a lot of lemonade stands. And sometimes you'll see a girl scout cookies for sure. My love lemonade stats. Those are all like big setups in front of HB and shit. Lemonade stands in the neighborhood. It's just like kids in a jar. Exactly. I trust the jar. Put some cash in. I just never have cash. I should have an emergency amount of cash for situations like that. Or you can just go get it and come back. I'm not doing that. You don't want to support women in business. I see. It's never I don't know. It's not my thought. My first thought. If I don't think I've ever come across any type of stand thought I need to support for those terms. But I think that's a wonderful thing to think that just hasn't been in my brain. I think old shoes should be a wallet. Like kangaroos. Where are the kangaroos? Yeah. The most popular shoe in 1983. Yeah. But they wallet shoes? Yeah. Yeah. You don't know kangaroos. I have. They were called they were called Roos. Roos. Yeah. It had on the side of it was a little wallet. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Would you wear those? Yeah. Yeah. You can pop by money, babe. Definitely. They were very popular when I was in grade school. Wow. Well, yeah. I think I'd shove them in the base though in the soul. Okay. So you. Okay. So it gives you a pocket. Okay. So I think it should be a slit. Lower down like in the soul. But why? Just think it's a bad place for the buns. I would never put my buns in my wallet shoes. The struggle state secrets. Like I don't want people to see my shoe wallet. You want a secret shoe wallet. Yeah. I think they see the giant kangaroo logo in now. And that's sort of my problem. I would only carry money outside of my because people are going to steal your shoes thinking they're stealing your wallet. So if I have my kangaroo shoes on and I have my money actually in my coat pocket, they're not going to search my coat pocket because why would I put it there? It's going to be my wallet shoes. I like them as a distraction. I wouldn't use this product as it's forward facing it to intended. Is that right? So you can like kick them off of muggas if you if that chase it. I mean, that would be good. But I just meant more in the sense of like they're going to steal it. And then I would maybe even do like a ha ha sucker would be in my wallet so that they don't go like, uh, he's got me. But then I would also be like, fuck, I need to buy a new pair of shoes. So I still lose. But at least I'm like half losing. Ha ha sucker. Yeah. Really show them robbers a thing or two about who the real geniuses. Yeah. Yeah, man. Yeah. Yeah, I was thinking you're a real genius. You got him. Yeah. They'd be so embarrassed. It might stop robbing because of it. Probably not. I don't think you're going to I don't think you're going to change hearts and minds by putting, uh, some of your stuff in your shoes. I'm just personally, um, can can I shift gears a little bit? I won't Gavin to guess who the person at the coffee shop was. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Two weeks to think about it. Should have been thinking about it probably at least once a day had two weeks. Jeff will answer one question. Uh, previously you have guessed Aaron roadblock and Eric Vespier that we know that they moved to Austin. They have been to parties at Jeff's house and is a man. And because this causes confusion every week, I just listened to this before we started today's episode. They worked with Rooster Teeth. I don't know if they ever were a salaried employee of Rooster Teeth, but they have worked in and around Rooster Teeth. Okay. And in certain capacities. Do you have a question and then a guess? How old are they? Great question. Uh, I don't know their age, but I would guess they are as close to my age within, I would say within five years up or down. Is it Bernie? Bernie? So you don't know? So he said, I don't know if they're us, if they were a salaried employee. And your guess is one of the guys who started the company. Well, I guess we'll turn it over to Jeff. Yeah. One of the people I know. So on, or better than anyone else on the planet and who I had a 20 year professional relationship with ethical, uh, that is, can I say that is a fucking hilarious, awesome guess. I love that guess. I would absolutely avoid Bernie if he didn't see me first at a coffee shop just, just to be funny. I actually wouldn't, but just to be funny, I might do it for like five minutes, uh, but no, it's not, it's not Bernie and I'm not counting that as you're real. Are you know? Okay. So it's not. I was gonna say, you know, honor that as a joke. I'm not honoring that as a joke, yes, I'm not gonna force you to take it as a reason. Now we recorded something yesterday, the three of us and Jeff brought up that you needed to think about this, Gavin, you said, Oh, yeah, I gotta, I need to, and then when I brought it up today, you said, Oh, like you hadn't thought about it once. I'm curious. Did you, was there a moment at least where you thought about it after that conversation or was it completely in and out? Oh, yeah, I thought, but I don't, based on my new information, it's not right. Interesting. Hey, we worked with a lot of people over the years. Did we get an answer on their age? Uh, I just told you, it would be up or down by about five years, I would think. They're similarly aged to me. I don't know their, you know what, I can, let me see if, whoa, they're Googleable. Are they Googleable? I have no idea. Okay. Okay. Okay. Next time, next episode, Gavin, that, consider that, uh, they're three years older than me. Whoa. Oh, interesting. All right. I need to update my information. Jeff got it older than Jeff. I was not expecting older than Jeff getting some real specific, specific information out of me. I like it. I like this. That's thrown, that's thrown the shit out of me. Yeah. It seemed like you had such a handle on it before too. I think we need to get together at some point, Gavin and create a guest who like bored for you to just visually look at. I'm going to give you a fucking unsolicited piece of hell. I'm going to give you a clue that you can sit on for the next week. You can't use this clue right now. Okay. Wait, have you guessed yet? Has he officially guessed yet? No, he hasn't yet. Okay. I'm not going to give you this clue until after you guess. Okay. We know that they live in Austin, but I don't want to do this for rest of my life. So you didn't make them, then give them something that he can guess because he's falling up. I mean, I've given him a lot. I gave him the person's exact fucking age. Some answers create more questions. And I think him being or them, I think you said it was a guy. Him being three years older. To me makes more questions because I was expecting somebody kind of thirties, I guess. Yeah. Sure. Older than you. And it's not Bernie Burns. Just to bear it. Just to stop Bernie. No, it's not Bernie. They're three years older than I am. I am 51. So that makes them 54 years old. Hmm. I'm out, Gavin. Yeah. I'm out too. Well, you need to stand you out. You can't be out. You're not allowed to be out. Here's the other piece of information. I'll give you. Okay. Probably the relationship professionally would have extended into Ralph Albionato. But when I think of this person, I think of them downtown. Yeah. That's why my mind is that downtown possibly at the tail in the beauty. But I don't think so. I think it would have been downtown times. I think we might have known them at the tail in the beauty. Neo Burrito. If I saw Nito Burrito at a coffee shop, I would absolutely approach him and immediately. I haven't talked to that dude in 20 years. It'd be awesome to see him. It's not him. Is Nito Burrito a DJ? Who is Nito Burrito? Nito Burrito was a mod from the old Rupert Thames who existed in, who existed in ugly internet and drunk Amherstase. Interesting. One of the longest like 10 year community members in terms of like when we started. Do you look up the Nito Burrito, Gavin? Did I look him up? No. Do you look up to him? Because it's I feel like, I feel like you're proud of your tenure, your rooster teeth tenure. And it sounds like this. He's definitely been around longer than Gavin for sure. Yeah. He was a legend on the forums. Nito Burrito, the legend. Okay. So that was Gavin's guess. That was Gavin's guess. But I want to know what the hint that you're going to give him is going to be. I already gave it to him to help him out. It was the, I gave him the fucking office we were in. Oh, that was, oh, that was the, oh, I see that wasn't, I don't think that was going to help him. I mean, he could, I think it should help him because we weren't working with that many people in downtown. No, I agree. I agree. I agree. It should help him. Like Jeff, just please know, I'm on your side here. Gavin was spent, Gavin was omnipresent in the downtown office as was, I wouldn't say omnipresent, but this person was definitely around. Interesting. Mm-hmm. So that's the most new information I've had. So this is useful. You just think back, man, our stable wasn't that deep back then. I think maybe this goes to a guess off at some point where we just see how many weeks it would have taken Gavin to figure it out with each wrong thing. That would do it. So you were doing it once a week, I'm saying like a week where you do like seven guesses and be like, okay, well, we would have been doing this for two months and he still has a guy. Because it sounds like based on the amount of people that work there, like you're going to run out of choices pretty soon. I mean, he's going to have to sit down and put some actual thought into it. And if he writes on a list of people that we knew from that era, he can get there. What about this guy? Can I ask a question that I don't think it's super helpful necessarily to be a minimal clear? Those are the best kind. Would Gavin have recognized this person? Would Gavin, if you, if Gavin was in the position you were in, would they have clocked that this is somebody that they could easily work with in some capacity? Or would it make a situation where you just think so? You know, it could be one of those things, Andrew, where I'm completely mistaken and they were like ships passing in the night and they were never in the room at the same time. And Gavin's like, oh, I was out of town that week when they were there or whatever. But I think, I assume that they have known each other and then they've communicated. Oh, I thought it was a guaranteed, I would know who they were. I think, I mean, I think you should and do and would. But I now the way Andrew posed that, it does lead me to, Gavin doesn't strike me as a guaranteed to know anybody type of thing. I'm remembering, I mean, this is what I was talking 15 years ago. The Cummings and Goings of Office people. I think that you have social interactions that wash away and that's okay. I don't think you're looking to like lock in people. But usually I know if I've met someone or not, I'm sure you've met someone. Yeah, but like, even if you know that you met someone, maybe like some of the experiences that you have with them that would be sort of like foundational building blocks like going to like pinballs with them would be something that you sort of like forget about. I'm just possible. I forgot about pinballs, but I didn't forget that we'd met. I knew that I hung out with Andrew. I, you know, I just, I think you don't know who this person is. I'm so excited to find out that he doesn't know who it is. That'll be a little let down if he doesn't. But I also think that if he says he doesn't know who this person is, he's a fucking liar. I don't believe in this. Oh, that's cool. We need to Jeff and I hate to assign homework to you. But if there's any possibility, then don't assign homework to Jeff. It's easy. Like there's no other person who can do this. I guess you could tell me and I could attempt to do it. But we really need like if there is a moment or a video, a photo of the two of them together, it really is needed, I think for the finale of this thing. If there's any online proof that these two were in a room together at any point, I think it would be a valuable piece of information. That's a great. That's a great. If you send me the name Jeff, I can, I can start poking around and see if I can find anything. Okay. Yeah. Hold on a second. I'm mean to you, that was, it didn't even take a long. That's great. No. I mean, he doesn't want to do the homework. I don't blame him. But I can. No, I don't blame him at all. I'm looking and I'm not seeing anything. But I also wouldn't mind the help. And I know Eric doesn't know who this person is. No idea. There's no threat to me in leaking information to him. Yeah. I also trust Eric. Could you send me them? Can I, can I, can you text me who they are? No. No, I don't trust you. I agree. Okay. Fair enough. And what way do you not trust me in this scenario? In the way that I think that you would either intentionally or unintentionally leak the name together? I would never do that. You think it'd be Philly Andrew? I think he might accidentally do it. Yeah. I don't think so. I can't explain. Right. Jeff, this is fantastic. Do you know who that person is? I am, I am passively familiar. This is great. Okay. If Eric knows, then I feel I know. That's all I was curious about. You don't know. You don't know anything. You know it. I said, you wish you knew. You're not going to. I trust Andrew. I'm going to roll back what I said. I'm going to trust you. I trust you. Wow. Okay. Okay. Great. Do I know who that person is? Jeff, this is on your swing and red. You're swinging red. Zen, I was clarifying that you wanted me to confirm a yes or no to my knowledge of the name. I'm being ultra sensitive about this information because of the implication you said. Was the question, do you know who that person is? Not clear enough? I didn't, I wanted to make sure I heard you correctly. I didn't hear you. That's fair. That's fair. I totally fair. I have no clue who this person is. Oh my God. I don't know why you're with you, don't you know? - You don't know nothing. - No fucking idea. - Hey, to get off of this, this has gone on too long. I have a question, I have Gavin, I'd like to elicit you in some help at some point in the near to far future. I don't care when it is. - Okay. - I'd like to leverage your proximity to the UK at some point in the future, if you don't mind. We didn't really get into it in the podcast today, but I went on a vacation recently and I went to Arizona and I had a lovely time I went to the Grand Canyon and did all the stuff and it was amazing and I went to Route 66 and I did all the Route 66 stuff and that's really cool, let me tell ya. Absolutely loved that and by the way, we missed our window. This was the hundredth year of Route 66. The plan was for us to do a Route 66 road trip to celebrate the hundredth year as our summer trip. We didn't make it because people be buying houses and it all kinds of shit going on, right? And so we weren't able to work out a summer trip. However, I was thinking about it, I already pitched this to Eric. Next year is the beginning of the next hundred years of Route 66. Next year is essentially year one. We should celebrate year 101 by doing our Route 66 road trip. I think that makes it even cooler because now we're like, fuck the past, we're celebrating going forward. However, when I was on my vacation and this is where I need your help, Gavin, I went to every gift shop on Earth because my wife loves gift shops and at the gift shops I'm killing time because I'm not, that's not of an occasional coffee mug. There's not a lot for me to get there. I did the thing that I've done my entire childhood which is I go to the rack where the key chains and things are with the names on them and then I go for the Gs and then I look just to see. And there's never a G-Jeff. Never in my life has there ever been a G-Jeff and I'm heartbroken and I decide this trip. I'm determined everywhere I go, I'm gonna look. Here's just three photos I took. I put them up, you can see there's a Gavin. - Wow. - You guys were at 66. There's a George. If I just want the letter G, I can pick that. I could be Gabriel. I could be Gabrielle. I could be Grace. I could be Grant. I could be Gloria. I could be fucking Gavin again. I could be Gracey. I could be Genesis. But I can't be Jeff. There's a Gavin, a Genesis and an Emily in a row right next to each other. I put together for you guys. The Genesis is supposed to be me. I can't make the full egg of Gavin and Emily and Jeff. And all I wanna do is have my fucking name on a piece of souvenir bullshit and it's impossible in the United States. So here's why I wanna listen to you, Gavin. My name, the G-Jeff, I've been told my entire life, the etymology is Welsh and British. So our theme parks and roadside attractions in England are G-Jeff's common. If so, can you go get me a anything, anything with my name on it? I'm on the hunt. Thanks, I know more. Thank you. But I think this is such an easy solution to this. What's that? Really? Change your name to Genesis. (laughing) Yeah, I mean, it doesn't affect the rest of the show, right? We can still be Anna and give your Genesis. That's true. It's pretty good. I appreciate the thought and I do like the Phil Collins Association, but at 51 years, I think I'm pretty locked into this name. I'd rather just get a tiny license plate that says Jeff on it with a G. If we could do that, it'll save me from changing my name. I'd really appreciate it. I really like the one that's just G though. I like just the letter of G. I think that's great. I so fucking, it's just like, I wish it didn't, but I'll be a hundred percent honest with you guys 'cause you're my best friends. It hurts exactly as much at 51 to spin that thing and not see my name as it did when I was seven years old. Yeah, I get it. Are you named after somebody, Jeff? No. And why did they go with the G? Jeff. Yeah, my mom liked it. She thought it was pretty cool. Fair enough. I was supposed to be a girl. I wasn't supposed to be able to begin with. My name was supposed to be Amanda. Uh, so. Did they have an Amanda plate? Oh, they did have an Amanda plate. I'm sure they did have an Amanda plate. Oh, it's pretty good. Man, should we, should we mention the pizza count before we get too far down the road in the podcast? How do you mean? Well, I mean, we're in it. We're in the middle of it. Things are going. Who's in first place? Who's in last? Let's give the audience a little word. I'm over a month in now. I've run around two weeks in now. Looking at the, looking at the numbers right now, Jeff is at 12 slices. Gavin is at eight. Let's see. Keep going up. Yeah, Jeff and Andrews at 20, uh, it appears that, uh, let's see. Where was I? I'm at five. Nick, where are you on this thing? Two. Wow, two. Wow, Nick, Nick and the Gavin slot. Wow. I'm in set. Yeah. This is crazy. Well, it's because we had a pizza date. Yeah, you guys had a, you guys had a date night and so that kind of like threw everything in a disarray, you know what I mean? It was great. We watched Twin Peaks. And then I forgot that our original plan was to order a port of house steak and share it. Uh, while we were eating pizza, I was like, ah, shit. But uh, you know, at least the count went up. And then he brought it up and I got mad at him because he didn't bring it up earlier. So that means we have to have a, we have to have a port of house date now. So we, what we really did was we snuck two hangouts out of one, which I appreciate. I would do 10. Gavin. Yeah. We didn't, we didn't really discuss it. We watched episode 17 and episode 18 of Twin Peaks the return. You had seen 17 before you hadn't seen 18. I'd only seen it once. It is the ending of the story of Twin Peaks or as close as we're going to get to it. Uh, most of the audience has no idea what we're talking about. So we won't get into the weeds about it. But I just want to know, were you satisfied? Did you like it? Give it a grade. What did you think? I enjoyed it, but I thought episode 17 was a better ending than episode 18. It was an easier ending for episode 18 is a more challenging, more heartbreaking ending. And I think more with them, within those, the spirit of the show, unfortunately. And it's a pretty insane time to start introducing new, like new concepts to the, the universe and maybe even new characters. Yeah. And new characters and, uh, I was very confused and then it ended. And then you said that was it. Then he died. Yeah. Yeah. Then he died. Yeah. There's no more. Anyway, I really enjoyed watching it with you. Uh, I was fun. I enjoyed it too. And I, I really, uh, I, it was great that we watched the previous episode as well because I've forgotten so much. Same. I told you, I remembered so much of the, of episode 17 being a part of the episode 18. So it was illuminating to me. But I really didn't watch 18 as much as I watched you watch it because that was the interesting thing to me in just, because it doesn't make sense. And you like, I told you there's a one point. There's about, I paused it when I watched it the first time. And I looked at my, I had to look and I was like, how can there only be eight minutes left in the show? I don't know what the fuck is happening. How can there only be eight minutes left of Twin Peaks? It makes no sense. And I waited for that moment to see your face and you looked so confused and concerned. It was awesome. Yeah. The, the screen went black. And I just stared straight ahead at it for like five seconds, just in kind of disbelief. Sort of a final episode of the soprano's kind of moment. Yeah. Has the show ever done a new show plus? New show. You should have replaced. Well, I guess like the new end game, right? It is sort of a new movie plus where they, they like change the ending slightly. It's the same movie, but something slightly tweaked. Oh, cash grab. Oh, cash. Yeah. I guess cash grab. Cash grab plus? Yeah. Yeah. A lot of people doing it. Oh, interesting. Okay. Yeah, cash grab plus. I have seen a lot. You're right. I think back. Not an interesting question. How do you feel about your, your position at the top of Pizza Mountain right now, Andrew? It's delicious at a bad pie, at a bad pie to stir it off. That wasn't good. Got a little sick. Yeah, I feel like you got ruined straight off the, the start line. But then I had to, I, you know, you got to push through it, you know, just get a new pie going, get back in the fields of it. I'm enjoying it. How long did you take off to recover from your pie illness? How maybe like two or three days? It was like swept through me in one day and then two or three day recovery after that and then back on the powertrain. Do you want to say where the pie came from? I don't, um, it was either little Caesars or Papa Johns. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. It was one of the two. Andrew, how do you feel about some of the comments on the potato draft stating the fact that this may have been the most wrong you've ever been in content? About what? Uh, about the fries and all the hills that you wanted to die on that video. I saw, uh, I think my favorite post of it was somebody made a Reddit post that was like, Andrew's wrong about French fries. Eric is wrong about sweet potato Jeff one the draft, which was the poll overwhelmingly stated, Jeff, you killed it in that draft. It was that you have like a 54% win right now. Well, thank you. I usually just go for bits and drafts, uh, but potatoes are near and dear to my heart. So I took it seriously. It's a passion. Yeah, it is a passion. I would definitely do some do overs. Do you remain in the same, uh, mindset when it comes to, would you have argued the same points? Uh, I think, uh, uh, yes, just certain extent, double down. I think that you, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh. it's tough, I don't think it's that tough. Because I think I'm right. But it's also like, how do you know how do you know how do you still think you're right? Because maybe I'm not right. Ah, interesting, maybe I'm not. I still don't, I still don't like Julian is the cut, but like nobody orders Julian fries. But that's not what I heard for 10 minutes on the draft. Well, no, it's that nobody, like, you said nobody orders french fries. People order french fries, but like that's not, that's like a general descriptor. To me, okay, here's the thing. This is how I describe it in my brain. And this is not regulation gatekeeper. But it would be like going to an ice cream, cart, and saying, I'll take ice cream. No, not. For me, it's the same. That's, that's fine. It's not what it is, they gave you their ice cream because they know what it means. They will give you their fry because they know what you're asking. What that is, what you get is called shut up, shut up. What ice cream would you get if you just went to the ice cream cart and said, yeah, I'll take ice cream. I think it really depends to the person behind the counter, but you would receive ice cream. But um, um, um, McDonald's, your fries because that's the fries. That's my point. That's my point. My point is that there's a lot of ice cream, there's vanilla ice cream. There's like all these specific types of ice cream. For vanilla fries and chocolate fries, you know, you're misunderstanding the specifics of my point. I'm saying a point. McDonald's. But if you go to a restaurant, Andrew, and they have multiple fry options, they're going to go, do you want curly fries or french fries and you're going to go, I'll take french fries or curly fries. That's true. That's true. I'm not saying that that argument I'm making is not necessarily one to one, but my point is that french fry isn't, isn't a style, it's a descriptor of a food. It's a little descriptor of food. No, but there's variation of food, you're, you're going to have a porterhouse. That's not the same as a ribeye. It's definitely not, but you're not fry literate. I don't think. And that's not a judgment. How many fries, how many fries are a McDonald's? One. Well, depending on, sometimes they do like specialty stuff. That's sort of my point that we're going back to the ice cream. Terrible point. Terrible point. Terrible point. Terrible point. No, we're going back to the ice cream track. If you say ice cream, they're going to give you ice cream regardless of if it's the right name for the thing or not, because it's the right name of the product. But that's not the equivalent of asking for fries at McDonald's, that's the equivalent of asking for burger. Order whatever item you want. I'm not judging whatever you feel like eating, and this is the point. I'm not going to order. I'm going to order a burger. Holy shit. I'm hoping to the fact that it has a specific name and that name is not generally used, and if you order French fry, you'll get French fry. But it's not what it's called, and I think in a draft in which we're picking specific cuts of things, being specific is important, because they're different taste experiences. I did get a waffle to a steak to a curly or completely different, although in ingredient, - You're the exact same. - Everything is exactly the same in the fucking potato draft. (laughing) - I don't know what that means. (laughing) - I quit my job. - I quit my job. - I quit my job. - I quit my job. - Everyone knew what I meant by French fries. - Clearly not everyone. (laughing) - He's got it there. - He has got standard fries. - I don't view that as box standard fry. - You should. (laughing) - That's fine. - Okay, so what would you have been more annoyed at? - French fries. - Not annoyed. - Zero annoyance. - Peeved. - Minced. - Not peeved. - Not even peeved. - What would you have been more okay with than fries or French fries? - Fra- - Equally problematic. (laughing) - Un-believeable. (laughing) - What if I'd said fries normal? - I'd be like if we were doing a types of pizza draft and you ordered pizza. - That's not. - But Donald's isn't like. - But I didn't know you were picking the McDonald's fry at the time. You just said French fry. - Right, 'cause French fry. - Yeah, French fry. - French fry. (laughing) - This is, I mean, is there a shop that just sells fries though? That you're comparing it to something that doesn't exist? - I did. - That's not what I meant. - Like even a chip shop sells fish. - The sentiment. - Should we start a French fry store, a fry store that just sells all different kinds of fries? - No, I would be too confused. I don't think I'd be capable of working there. - Every one of Andrews sit to scenarios is I'm walking into a fry store and ordering the fries. But that's not, no one's doing that. - My point was that French fry is a general term and that you could go to a place and get a French fry, even if that's not exactly what it was called. That was the point. - All it is. - That's all it was. - I'm still in the dock. - Yeah, it's fine. - That's all, that's the entirety of the basis of my point is I just don't think you're as fry literate. And that's okay. - I, Andrew, if there's one person here that doesn't come off as maybe totally literate, I don't think it's Gavin. - A fry literate? (laughing) - I'm just letting you know, man. - Don't you fucking come at me with my fry. - I'm just letting you know. - All right, why don't we have someone make up an independent 10 question fry quiz? (gasping) - What does that mean? - Let's see who scores higher. - What does that mean? - Someone come up with 10 questions about fries. - I feel like he's more fry literate. - Once again, the entire basis of this was just, I wanted a clarification because there are different fries and different cuts of fries and there are different experiences. - But it's never one's point, it's the French cut. - Ah, it's the French cut. - Yeah, I gotta make this fucking fun. - It comes from the Frenching something. - Literacy, I didn't have that context, that I could be completely wrong. - How many questions in the 10 questions? - 10 questions about fries. - 10 questions. - I think technically that's the French fries. I'll have it for the next podcast. - Thank you. - I never considered what the French means than the French fry. (laughing) - Thanks, man. - Do you want me to send the questionnaire out earlier and then we go over the results in the podcast or do you want me to give it to you in the podcast if you guys know your answers and then we do it live? - Oh, I wonder if it should be like a little buzz in quiz or something. - Oh, that's a great question. - Okay, you know what? Before we wrap, we're slinging arrows and stuff. I have a question for you, Eric. - Sure. - I want you to evaluate percentages on this, okay? - Yeah, no problem. Hang on, I'm just gonna drop this in here where it says a French cut is a culinary term for Julianne. Go ahead. - Perfect, thank you. - Yeah, go ahead, man. If you text two people and you say, "Hey, do you want to do this specific thing on this day?" And then they say, "Yup." And then you show up to do that thing on the stated day and they both have downloaded the wrong game. (laughing) What percentage of fault would you say is on you? What game did they download instead? He's not saying, some of us already had it downloaded first of all. - That's true. Only one of us had to download. - One of us didn't have it downloaded. But what percentage of blame would you lay on the person who said, "Hey, do you want to play this specific thing?" And they both said, "Yes." - I would put 0% on interest in this situation, Andrew. And 100% on the person who didn't download the right game. - Here's the deal. Here's the deal, here's the deal, the other side of this thing. Andrew has to take 3% of the blame. Gavin and I are accepting 97% of the blame. We are accepting an A+ amount of blame. However, we both agree that if you give directions to two people and your success rate on conveying those directions is 0%. - Great, you have to take some percent of the blame because clearly you weren't clear enough, or one of us would have got it right, but both of us got it wrong. - Andrew, do you feel like you could have been more clear? - No, 'cause I put the title of the thing in the text. - So it is my issue. I'm gonna lay out my issue. - Okay. - I'll play whatever Andrew wants. I'm always in, I'm all for it. But currently, with Andrew, I am playing the following. Gears reloaded. - No, we finished Gears, we finished Gears reloaded. - Yeah, it's done, we're gonna talk about. - You've been playing it. - Get that off the list, terrible list. But so far, a bad list, go ahead. - We played it like the day before. - No, we played it a week before and we wrapped it. - I mean, it's off the list anyway, it doesn't matter. It's wrapped. - Yeah. - We're also playing. - All lists are number one. Not also. - Gears E-day. - Not also. - Campaign. - Campaign. - Okay. - That's a group of people. We're also playing Gears E-day. - Hort is a different group of people. - That's one game. - Okay. - Yeah, that's one game. - I know that's two different. - That's two different. - That's one game that's one game. - Right, but it's one game you have to boot up. Go ahead. - Well, I'm just talking about the amount. My main issue is we have a lot of series going around years. - So far, you've told me one game. - Two, two series is what he's discussing, not game. - Right, but it's one game. - So if he told you we're playing Gears, and you didn't know if it was Horde mode. or this campaign thing or whatever, it's the same game. So luckily for you, one game. Luckily for us, E day is the game he had downloaded. If I said, do you guys want to do gears on Wednesday? 100% on me. But that's all I said. I agree. I agree with that. Yeah. Well, Andrew said was a high bust is on Wednesday. And I was like, yeah. And then Gavin and I both loaded up gears E day because that's the most recent gears we've been playing because that's what's fresh in our head because it just came out and we haven't touched recent gear. We haven't touched. We haven't touched hive butt together. We haven't touched hive busters. And I don't remember how long I don't even know what hive busters is. It's gears five. Gears five campaign DLC. It's the game. It's more spent. It's 20 hours in the room in the video that will eventually come out. Yeah. It's the one we haven't touched in six months or longer. But it's the one we've all haven't played. It's the longest to go one. So I just thought we were continuing the other one. I do think I do think maybe you could say gears five in that situation instead of just hive busters. I think that's what some of the three percent comes in. I think the three percent. I think the three percent can stand because I do think you could have been more clear because you said hive busters and I googled it because I thought maybe that was in E day and it's not. But this is for me a guy who hasn't played it though. So they have both played. They've spent six hours in one room. But when I hear hive busters, I hear gears. And when I think gears, I think gears E day because I just did a campaign video with you guys right before one of vacation. I also logically think that was the one we would keep playing as it's new. Yeah. It's all gonna be old though by the time it comes out. That's not as old as hive busters. It's like it becomes a it becomes a linear problem where my head. I'm trying to just get through these out linearly in a sense of we did reload it. We'll put that out first because that's the earliest. And then we'll do hive busters and then we'll do E day. Nick, what percent? Nick, what what what you think three percent goes to Andrew? Yeah. I think that's and I think that's fair. Andrew, I definitely don't think it's on you in any way, shape or form. No. But I think that's just because no, it's just three percent. Yeah, just because you didn't say gears five. I'm sorry. Like I'm the number 100% like they should have it should have been ready to go on with you. I appreciate that because next time I text I will include gears five hive busters. Yeah. It just you know, just to make damn sure. And I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I also think that's that's the most insane order to put them out. Yeah. What's what do you mean? Well, just putting out the freshest game the furthest out. But the other two already old. Well, it's just what are you saying? He's saying and you're saying we're gonna put out gears reloaded then gears five then gears E day and Gavin saying gears E day is hot right now. Everybody's thinking about it. It's a new game. Why would you wait to put it out? I didn't follow any of that. I like I got it now. Jeff, you laid it out from me. I understand. But I was like, whoa, man, I was lost. It's a broader conversation. But it's also because like gears reloaded will have the shortest. Yeah, it would have the shortest distance between record and release time. Then what does that mean? That means that it'll have the shortest release time between recording release. Why does that mean? What does that mean? Why do you talk the most you bit of you or what's up? These are going to be Patreon series because that's when we do our full playthroughs typically. And so I just figured putting it out both in the release in which the, well, I guess the story occurs in E day. Huh, E day is a prequel to Reload. Huh. Is it does E day a prequel to all of it? Isn't E day just like the, it's like the, the first one. Yeah. Does that matter? And what you're talking about though? So, wait, literally, you were talking plot. I was, yeah, it's thinking plot at first, but then it went to what? Who games? Shit. No, I think it was the sequence in which games released. Yeah, I took it as him. I didn't think plot. I thought sequence of games released. But high busters came out. Yeah, it's, yeah, it's messy. No matter what we do, it's messy. Yeah, especially with none of its hours, but we're working on it. We're getting through it. We finished Reload and now we're going to finish high busters because theoretically, that's the shortest and we're on chapter four all in the can. How many chapters are there? I'm not sure. I think maybe seven or eight, but we spent an hour on a sequence that I think is intended to be like, can I ask you questions? Can I ask you a question? Why did we spend an hour on that wheel? Oh, we spent an hour on that wheel because Gavin died a few times. Moverly thing. Gavin has this move and it's not a fault. It's not a fault and he doesn't do it on purpose. And I agree with Andrew's assessment, but I also agree that it is especially frustrating. Gavin manages to figure out how to die in the microsecond between when you complete a mission and the cut scene is finished or it begins, and then the transition happens and there's a checkpoint and you get to move on to the next section. He manages to like, you've beaten the boss. You're done. You completed everything, but there's like a little window where you can die from an environment or from a rope bullet or whatever. And he manages to die in that window 100% of the time somehow. The amount of times we have beaten the boss and they were like, all right, on to the next. What? What? And it's not me being reckless, like wondering around it's me completely behind cover, not even blind firing and my fricking head pops. I'm just clenched like hoping fingers crossed that it's one of the other heads that go. I think so always my stupid head, but that's okay. Nobody's we all have reckless moments. Tons of reckless moments. I spent I spent half a yesterday walking around in a day as well as being yelled at on the phone by a repairman or the fucking doorbell was ringing or the dog was barking. There's a fucking nightmare. I was reckless all day long, but Gavin just has this ability. It just it unlocks a new level of hell because we're playing on this impossibly difficult difficulty. And then you beat the thing and then you die after technically beating the thing and then having to go back to the thing. It's so much worse having to go back to it after you've done it. It's like such a sense of accomplishment and relief to beat the thing. And then do immediately have a rug pull, you know. It's just it's a fucking it's a gut punch. It's rough and those videos will come out in some sequence in some order at some point in the future. Maybe it could be a part of her game. Why would we do that? He said release one a week each game one part at a time just rotating. That's like I'm imagining a crowd back and forth on tennis, but each ball lands on a different court. Absolutely ridiculous. And instead of doing that, why don't we just complete every gear is recording that we have. Get them all done, put them on a wheel, spin the wheel and then we release them based on what it lands on. Could you do that when you get part 17 today? Next week you get part two. All right, you get part five this week. I have a before we go. I have an interesting Nick observation that I went this the other day. Cool. A good Nick quote. And Nick, we get a coffee. Yeah, we're getting coffee and a awesome. We're talking about cappuccinos and lattes and stuff and like to talk about the difference. Different amounts of foam, I guess, different than the milk drinks. And then we're talking about how you can't get, you can't just order coffee, I guess in an English coffee shop. And you have to end up ordering, I guess you can order Americano, which is kind of coffee, but it's still espresso coffee. And then I was just like, yeah, but then you could just put as much milk in as you want. And Nick was like, ooh, yeah, I control the flow. Okay. And I just enjoyed that was his response to you can put it as much milk as you want. He was talking about being in England and getting coffee and then going like, he found like flat whites. And so he was drinking flat whites and stuff. And like the amount of time that he was there, how many coffees that he had and Gavin started doing the math and talking about how much milk that he drank and like. Yeah, I control. Oh, I control the flow. What was great is that you said it with such confidence. And I was like, yeah, then you just kind of looked. You just kind of looked confused on what you just said. I think out of all of us, and this is I wouldn't have guessed this going into the company together or even going definitely not going into face together. I think Nick is the one who thinks the least before he speaks. Yes, yes. It gets him in trouble so much on 100% eat the same way. Where you just go? What? And he goes, forget it. Never mind. I didn't say anything. Shut up. Shut up. It's like, what happened? I think Nick is a unique case where he'll do it from a place of rest. I definitely will do it in a, I'm swinging red. I'm just staying stuff at a certain point. I'm trying to get out of this hole. But Nick will be not at all in the spotlight just having all the time, no pressure. And we'll just say something that I don't think he even intends necessarily. Maybe nobody's more surprised by what comes out of Nick's mouth and Nick on occasion. I agree with that. I 100% agree with that. Absolutely dude. And sometimes when other people are trying to get out of the hole, they just duck. Nick will just run out of nowhere and jump straight into it. He didn't even dig it. He wants to stand next to you while you dig. the whole, so he can see if the whole is big enough for both of you. Oh, how much room is down here? Oh, man, we should probably wrap this fucker up. I believe we've been going for a little while as we end though, I'm going to speedrun a couple of things because I had a bunch of notes from two weeks of being off. One, just want to let you guys know, my car accident has resolved the fender vendor with the, I got a call from my insurance agency that said, we found, we found no proof that you injured the person's car. So we have denied the claim. So no problem there. Everything ended up well there. We have that bench that's been dedicated. We still need to go on a road trip out there to do that. We don't want to make sure we don't forget that. Also, we need to remember to schedule the food named after places draft. I want to get that going. I also meant to mention this during the souvenirs, and I didn't come up, I didn't get a chance to, but every souvenir in 2026, if you go to a grand canyon, bear a zone at any of these places, they're all AI now. Every shirt, every, everything is AI. Of course, man. It's all, like I didn't expect it to affect key chains and stuff yet, but it is everywhere. You're insane. I expected it to affect key chains first. I just, I just figured there's so many years and years and years of those things in warehouses. You don't need, like who's making new Gabriela key chains in 2026. You've got 10,000, you've got crates and crates and crates of them, but yeah. No, no, no, no, no, no. There were so many like t-shirts I wanted to get and then I went, ah, no, I don't think I can get that one. It's fucking, you're crazy. It's like the first thing that's got, the first thing it's going to affect is Chachki Bullshit. I figured the first thing that will affect is porn, but it definitely made its way to Chachki Bullshit as well. Also, I had five ideas. I wanted to pitch you guys for new things so we can get to that next week. Thank you so much. We're listening to another episode of regulation podcast. Okay, cool. So we weren't sure, but I texted before this started. Nick, are you going to get us right now? Yeah, I'm getting you. So wait, you sound completely different now than you did at any other point. This is cheated. I agree. I agree. I think he's absolutely cheated, but I texted you aware of that the whole time. Yeah, no, I'm talking about this way. You sound completely different than you ever did during the entirety of that whole episode. I was higher pitch because the higher pitch comes through. Hey, Nick, at 1048 AM this morning, I texted Andrew Jeff and Gavin. Got a feeling that Nick will be wearing the mask today. Didn't call it out here because even then a little after after the episode started, Gavin said, don't think so. And I said, mean either. Yeah, I'm going to I'll post it. Yeah, I mean, very, very impressive. You thank you. I just very, very, very, very impressive. Got us. I'm not 100% sure what changed because the niche I'm talking to right now is a different person. Well, I think we heard I as a matter of fact, I threw to you in the first three minutes of the podcast just to hear your voice. I was so flocking. Tell that you was zeroed in on it. Now I did on purpose. And I know that Gavin and Andrew or Gavin and Eric would have picked up. Yeah. And here's the thing. I think he absolutely cheated. He's a little cheater monkey. And he's a whole time. You were caught the flower. Yeah. All right. Well, then that'll we'd love to see that. Hey, Nick, all right. Hey, Nick, you win. Nick definitely wins. That's a man. I think it adds a layer to the game of we need to be I don't know what we could have done because he sounds different. I mean, it sucks. No, it sucks that I'm so in tune with Nick, like that fucking thanks. How did you do that? That's you in the way when you texted it to us. Like, oh, he's wearing it today. Like it was definite. You having a total Gavin total gut feeling, 100% of gut feeling. That's crazy. And then I just got just got. But last time you sounded like you were in a bag. Yeah, I don't know what's different. You sound so different now than you did when I threw to you in the first three minutes of the podcast. I immediately rolled it out after that initial conversation you and I had the mic was here. I was here. I was going, yeah, that's right. I did that. Yeah. So you could potentially with this upload just have an hour of you in this mosque the whole time. Oh, can we get Nick's hour? Yeah, can we do the Nick hour for the, is that okay? You didn't put your hand down your pants at any point. Did you? I'm trying to remember if I did or not. You're trying to remember if you did. Are any of those consoles plugged in behind you? No, they're for shelf. Okay. They look nice. Yeah, that's a great shelf. That's a really nice shelf. Okay, so the hour of the video will just be Nick and the monkey mask the whole time and people for the whole hour are going to be going, oh my god, they don't know. They don't know. They don't know. It could just be like a special Nick cut on Patreon. So it doesn't get spoiled for everyone. Oh, that's such a good idea. That is a good idea. That is a good idea. Good job, bloody. Where do you go Nick? Great job, man. A month's in. I told you he was going to wear it today. I got a, I got a, I got to watch the tape just to see the difference. But, but I'm going to trust Nick. I believe in Nick. Yep. If I see any of him like pulling the entire thing up and he's talking out of the neck, I'm going to say that's bullets. No. Well, there you have it. Congratulations, Nick. You win. Yes. Nick wins 2026. Congratulations, buddy. Oh, man. Well played. Happy new year. Happy new year. Eventually. I like the year you get over, but he only gets two months off. Yeah, absolutely. All right. Jeff, Jeff, get us out of here. All right. Let's, let's go ahead and this has been episode 100. And 28 of the regulation podcast, was it the best episode you've ever heard? Maybe some are saying it, some are unconvinced. Maybe they need to listen to or three or four or eight or 12 more times. I'd recommend it for you as well. Don't forget to tell every person you've ever met on the planet earth about this podcast and how it will enrich and improve their lives in ways that they cannot even imagine yet until they listen and earn the knowledge of the egg and egg will help an egg will lead you towards ultimate victory. Thank you so much. We'll see you next week. Bye. Genesis.
