The episode opens with a lively discussion on the NBA season kickoff, emphasizing the excitement of key matchups like the Nuggets vs. Sixers. It highlights major roster moves, including Casey Wallace’s long-term deal with Oklahoma City and Brandon Miller’s large extension with the Hornets, both reflecting a trend of teams investing heavily in young talent. However, this comes with skepticism—many argue these deals rely on players proving themselves in high-pressure environments. Several players, including Dwight Powell and Walter Clayton Jr., were waived, raising concerns about roster depth and team resilience. Jaylen Brown shares a personal story about his new harpist and chef, symbolizing a shift toward lifestyle and personal culture in the game, though it’s seen as extravagant. Ben Simmons’ injury timing with a promotional documentary creates a negative narrative, undermining his return story. The Western Conference is viewed as stable with top teams like the Thunder, Spurs, and Rockets, while the Lakers remain uncertain due to youth and injury risks. A key debate centers on team strategy: should franchises prioritize elite stars or balanced depth? The analysis suggests that teams like Memphis and Atlanta—built on grit and effort—could surprise fans by outperforming expectations. Ultimately, the episode underscores the tension between financial investment and sustainable performance, with a recurring theme that consistency and depth may outweigh raw talent in playoff success.
[MUSIC] >> Welcome to the Misbahatch, I'm Chris Vernon. It joining me see this every week from TheRinger.com is Dave Jacobi. Jacobi! >> It's late Monday night and we're taping this. Meaning you will be listening to this. And before you go to sleep tonight, there'll be a band, Madison Square Guard. And all of the Nickerbockers will have their rings. And you will have watched LeBron James on the Sixers go up against the reigning champion, Nix. What a day. >> What a day. >> And if you're on the West Coast, you can leave on your lunch break and watch the season tip off. >> What the, I honestly don't like this. I think the first game of the season should be the Nix and the Sixers. I mean, the champions against the most interesting collection of basketball players that we've had in a long time. >> Yeah, this is going to be weird as they are unveiling a triple header to kick off the season. >> This episode is presented by Sam's Club. During the holidays, everyone's in a club. The last minute gift givers club, the coolants club, the food coma club, whatever holiday club you're in, Sam's club is the club that helps you pull it off. Need to get a meal on the table under two hours, done, shopping for the brands they want, like Dyson and Lego, without blowing your budget, check and check. Sam's Club helps you make the most of the holidays. Come join us, Sam's Club. >> Well, today, everybody had to decide on their rosters. We will start with the contracts that were signed, rookie extensions that still were unsigned, but you did get signed case on Wallace for the Oklahoma City Thunder, five years, $139 million. First reaction. >> I think it's great for him. I think it's good for the team. I think when they lost Lou Dort as a Joe and Wiggins, it was a real indicator that they're going to keep case on Wallace. And I always say that the team knows more about the player and their habits and their character and their work ethic than what we see. We just see the basketball part and it seems like Sam Pressy sort of hinted at that when they signed case on Wallace. And I think this will be a very fair deal for both sides and it's also tradable. >> A dog at the fender who can knock down shots from the outside who has proven he could play 30 minutes for a team that can win the ultimate prize. You re-sign that guy. The other thing that's always, you always have to consider is, okay, if we let this go to restricted free agency, is this going to be worse? >> Yes. >> Right. >> Yes. >> Is this going to be worse if we let this go to the off season. Is someone going to pony up and say, hey, who pay coast case on Wallace a fortune? Go ahead and match it. >> And it's not just going to be the Kings this time. >> Right. And so look, I think we both kind of like that deal for them. And as you say, infinitely tradable with what percentage of it is for the cap, in regards to that he can be a massive rotation player on a great team. Brandon Miller got $509 million. This one dragged out. And I guess the inferences that he wanted to have the biggest non-Wimbee extension that was signed and he did get that by a million dollars over Oman Thompson. And so he got the second biggest extension, very clear, big commitment from the Charlotte Hornets that Brandon Miller and Con Canipal are going to be who they are building out around going forward in Charlotte. We talked about this and you bet on the come on this stuff and I had said that the players that had not made all star teams yet, but you still believed in as really young players that it became rather commonplace for them to get huge contracts. And in the end, what has to happen is those guys have to be able to prove that they can be one of your top two, three players on a team that can be awesome. Or else you look up and then you're going to have to make Franz Wagner and Desmond Bane and Chair and Jackson Jr., like a bunch of guys I've covered, decisions. We went through this whole span where the second tier stars or the guys that maybe can't be your best player on a title team just automatically got huge contracts before they had achieved proving that they can be great players on great teams. But I think this is a good bet. We could look back and we'll be like, wow, Brandon Miller, he's not the number one guy, he's not the number two guy on a great team, but these are the bets that teams have to make. And if he becomes, I don't know, Paul George, then yeah, it's a great bet, right? If he becomes Brandon Ingram, it's not a great bet. I don't know where I am, Brandon Miller, right? That is what I mean that there's a very high ceiling for what he can do. I mean, any sort of criticism of Brandon Miller has been availability up to this point. And you know, you have to assume he's going to stay healthy and not wearing a huge shoulder race while he plays basketball in the NBA, and I think that when he's right, he is right. Like, when you see a good Brandon Miller game, he looks like Paul George. Yes. And if you get a good one, and if he isn't like a consistent all star that becomes that level of player, then you're going to look back and be like, yeah, it was great deal and it was great to lock him up. So those are the big ones that took place. There was also waves that took place today. One that, the ones that stood out were Dalton Connect just getting wave by the way. I think the, the, the best thing is it came down to him or Bronny. And Yovon Buhah who covers the Lakers, former Grant Land colleague of mine. He put out a tweet that both Bronny and Dalton Connect were not at practice today. We're relieved from practice. I forget how he worded it. But like, basically really sounds like it came down to the wire with this like, we don't want them both to be here. So one of them has to walk out the door and in front of the state of the team. And what everybody will remember from the Dalton Connect era, unfortunately, is flashing the pan early and then like very publicly berated for not knowing the play by J.J. And the trade that didn't happen, right? Coming back the next day, like, okay, guys, I'm here to play in the one, the one night when he hit like 11 threes or whatever, and LeBron after the game was like, I've been watching Dalton Connect tapes since he was called LeBron. His agent should have gotten him out of there after the Mark Williams thing. It's totally, it's a really tough position to be in. It's to be traded and haven't recited and then come back. Oh, but one of the reasons I was surprised by this is because Dalton Connect is white. And basically, the Lakers are building an all-white rotation. That's a, that is a waste of a 17th pick in the draft, the way around. Kevin Porter Jr. got way from Milwaukee, obviously, they're trying to, they're going to be young, they're rebuilding in the post-ionist era, but they didn't need his services, it seems. He had played really well last year, the 38 games, 17 points, five rebounds, seven and a half assists. Like, he, again, they were losing every night, but still, guys that get waves today end up on teams. Yes. That's how it works. Except for, except for Dwight Powell, he probably walked. I wouldn't be so sure. Really? I don't, I don't think that this is kind of like what the NBA and veteran players do complain about, which is like, hey, there aren't spots at the end of the bench even anymore for the, for the vet that can be the OG that teaches guys how to be pros and like, these guys are not wrong. I got it, but I mean, like this guy, this guy was a, I mean, the role player that's just a lifer with one team, like the Nick call us in types to you, Donas has them types, like, you wonder if it's last of a dying breed, honestly, because Dwight Powell was like all-time math. Like, he's been through, he's been through all of it. I've always, like, always liked Dwight Powell. You know, the certain players, you're just like, like, I love Larry, it's junior, like I always, I mean, look, if you're a good guy that plays with energy that is cool with that playing, but also cool with playing, like, you can stick around for a long, long time, like, he is a, he is a great player for players to learn from on, how do I have a double-digit career without being a star level without scoring double-digit points? Why do they always want me around it, evidently, this was excruciating because, you know, they came down to, man, we really want to have this side.
And so they it was kind of moose to see say or ham and it's like if we wave moose to see say teams are going to scoop him up in two seconds like there's all there's already all kinds of suitors for him just because everybody wants to have an abundance of size now. And so they ended up like he was the he was the one that was put on the chopping block, but 12 years. Unbelievable. And then the other one was in my neck of the woods with Walter Clayton Jr. who was part of he was drafted in the top 20 of the draft by the Utah Jazz. Coming up for his tournament run like really like just a huge tournament run for people like me that just kind of don't watch too much college like he looks great. He was unbelievable at Florida. And in what was a stacked SEC and a stacked final four, he was the best guy and went to Utah where they're trying to lose on a regular basis, went to Memphis where they're trying to lose on a regular basis. I am just always very wary of giving up on young guards early. And that's because once upon a time if we're talking the first two, three years of his career, I would have told you Mike Conley's never going to be any good and his number is going to be in the rathers in Memphis. And you know, I'm about to go watch a team that's got guys like Ty Jerome and Scotty Pippin Jr. And I watched them play against the guy in the Kee-Logsland or Walker. Like these guys just get thrown in trash bins all the time. You know, it happens. Well, I think you're breaking the baby Dwight Hal won't get picked up for 13th year. But when you're on your second third year in the league, like those guys, I like those stories when those guys get fined the right situation, the right coaching group, some of the believes in them, and then they turn themselves into getting like a multi-year deal. And we will see. Like, I mean, again, sometimes the evaluation is correct and that guy is not whatever anybody thought he was going to be. And sometimes the evaluation is incorrect and you have multiple teams give up on guys like New Kee-Logsland or Walker, where he's just bounced around until he finds his spot. He's got his spot now. Now you'll be scrolling whatever social media you use, you know, in three months, you'll be like, "Whoa, Clayton Jr. Discord, 45 points in the team." No, he's not to that. In the G-League, in the G-League. Well, I just kept on wanting him to do anything that he was, the preseason was just an abomination, honestly. Like, he just, and so they decided to wave him, but he'll have a job in two seconds as well. And so those are some of the big waves. Whoa, hold on, hold on. There's a very important piece of news that has happened since we last spoke. And it involves one of the most talked about players in the NBA, Jaylen Brown. And he said something very interesting when he was in some sort of podcast conversations with Little Baby. And let's just roll it tape. My favorite purchase, I think my best, my most favorite purchase part for me was I bought a heart. About like a, a goal heart. I got to those theories too. That's a heart, like a music. Yeah. I bought a heart. And I got a, a harpist that come play like twice a week. Why the sun is going down. The chef is in the kitchen. You know what I mean? Okay. A couple of questions, follow up questions. Is the harp in Boston or Philadelphia? Wherever home is now. Yeah, it's Boston. No, no, Philadelphia. You think the harp is in Philadelphia? So the harp either traveled with him or it's a recent purchase. No, it's a recent purchase. All right. I went online and I just wanted to find out how much a harpist would be in Philadelphia. It's about $300 an hour for an event. Usually harpists are like for weddings. When people are waiting for the bride and groom to walk down or whatever. And another thing, he said twice a week while the sun sets, right? Which I just love this idea, like golden hour with the harpist upstairs. And he said, when the chef is, he thought he said, while I'm sheffing in the kitchen at first, I was like, oh, that's weird. Why would the harpy upstairs if you're in the kitchen? But I realized while the chef is in the kitchen. And then here's the question I really want to ask you, Bruno, because I'm sure that his harpist schedule is probably built around his game schedule. But if you could pick two days a week to have a sunset harpist, what days of the week would you select? Uh, I think Friday? Yeah, that was on my list. Kind of a close to the week. Yeah, yeah. I could sell for glass of wine. And maybe like Sunday before the weeks about to start. Sunsets Sunday. What about football, though? I'm like in the way. Yeah. Yeah. But yeah, you're right. That's a good point. Yeah. Yeah. I think you've got basically Tuesday, Wednesday Saturday to choose from. I mean, obviously, this is intensely relatable. Yeah. Yeah. And I know a Wednesday harp, the hump day, harp day. Not a bad one. And look, obviously, great for the NBA guys and agents that have spent the entire offseason telling us, you don't understand. It's not as much money as you think. Once you take half of it, and then you pay this guy, and then you got taxes, and then you pay the harpist, and then you pay, wait, wait, wait, what? And then you, and then you buy the gold harp and then you hire the person to play the harp while your chef is making your myth, it's not as much money as it sounds like people think people think it's a lot of money, but it's really not as much as you think. Verna, I went harp shopping, right? So I want to notice how much a harp would cost. So Vermont by a lens is one of the, I so many bought from Vermont by a lens because he's in Boston. We bought the harp. And they've got a pretty wide selection of harps with the high end being around $80,000. Nice. Wow. And the low end being around $15,000. So that's pretty reasonable for a little ambient sound while the chef is shopping up and the sun is going down. And there's a lady harp in there. But he don't, but he said it's a golden harp. Golden harp. He's gold harp. So that is like massively expensive. You know what immediately came to my mind. Years ago, I did an interview with Master P. And when I first met Master P, I said, man, when I was a teenager, like, I'll never forget your your episode of Cribs. I was like, that was unbelievable. Walk into your house in the world. I said, still to this day, I remember the gold ceiling. He has a solid gold ceiling that he had in Cribs. And you know, when he's a 13-year-old kid, I was like, oh my God. Guys got a gold ceiling. And Master P goes, yeah, that was stupid. And I was like, what? And he was like, he was like, lit, lit man. He's like, it sounds cool. Until you're trying to sell the house and nobody wants to pay for a gold ceiling. He's like, you ain't getting your value back on that one brother. He goes, that was dumb. And I was like, oh, this thing I told was cool. It's again, it's a one day. There's going to be a garage sale. And Jalen Brown's going to look back on this and be like, hey, man, what a gold harp. So like the amount of people that want to buy that is very, very low. I couldn't tell if I loved this about Jalen Brown or hated this about Jalen Brown. And I think I love it. I think it'd be really nice to have the harvest. I don't like extra people in my house, but it'd be nice to have a little harp going on. You know, just you and your lady on the back porch watching the sun go down. I just can't relate. Like, when if you ask me, what if if I had that kind of money and you said, what is your favorite purchase? That's, I mean, do you know how far down the list that would be in team thing? Pretty far down the list. He can't be farther down the list. I wouldn't even consider that. There are certain things that I see where I'm like, I don't care how many billion dollars I have. I'm not paying $60 for a cocktail. I could have off my gonna be those money. I'm just not doing it. There's no chance. Let's get back to basketball. Yeah. Terrible story about Ben Simmons. Oh, God. Look, he was one of the reasons that like, we were going to go out of our way to check out the Kings, especially after the preseason that he had and I mean, God, I've seen bad timing in my life. But ESPN rolling out being Ben, this documentary series that they did on the same day that he tears as a kill ease. And they're pushing out the social media sort of like promotion for it, which has clips about him and Doc having beef. It's a kind of like a Ben Simmons news day without the injury. It's just really, really bad timing and like, you know, people make jokes about Ben Simmons, but he is a human being with thoughts and feelings and desires. And, you know what I mean? And like a mom and dad and everything. And like, I was very excited for him to come back to say, listen, I had injury issues and I'm fully healthy now and you're going to see the old Ben Simmons when I play for the Kings. And when you play for the Kings, you have an opportunity to show that. If he signs another roster, you know, depending on how he did in practice and preseason or whatever, he might even see the floor, but he was going to start. Could have been a super cool comeback story. Oh, yeah, could have been that documentary series.
was on a show called E60 and I was around ESP him and they launched E60 and our friend and boss Bill Simmons was on that show. I think it was a weekly show and he would do like one bit at the end of the show like a little something something and one of his first ones I remember Horowitz was producing it. He shot a half court shot at halftime for the Clippers and like you know Bill he takes things seriously so he's practicing and he's getting it right and he shoots it and I think it goes backboard front rim and just misses and then after the game is over he goes back on the court for a second shot right in that's tough that's tough. Did they show the make? Yeah of course. Oh they did. Yeah. Well Ben Simmons I'm not even making jokes about it just makes me sad. I was just honestly like if you're to say list the 20 things that you're excited to see from this NBA season he would be one of them probably around 20 but he'd be one of them get well soon. The mismatch is brought to you by Bandole. The NBA is back and this is your most rewarding season ever on Fandole. How rewarding are we talking? More rewarding than a half court buzzer Peter. More rewarding than a 29 point comeback. Maybe even more rewarding than a center knocking down a three. I mean come on everybody loves when the big man lets it fly. At this NBA season that feeling doesn't stop on the court. Look out for Fandole Rewards Club exclusive offers surprises and more. I love the Rewards Club. I like to choose a 50% boost and I love some NBA futures. Here's the things that I love. I think the pistons aren't going to be as good as everybody else does. I'm under on the pistons. I think the calves are going to be the number one seed in the Eastern Conference. I'm over on the calves and I think the Jalen Bronson is going to score 30 points in the opening game. Those are just some of the things that I am thinking. So every week check the Fandole app to see what's waiting there for you. Make this your most rewarding season ever with Bandole. Don't forget you have to be 21 over to select states or 18 over at DC. Why? I mean gaming problem called 100 Gambler or call 1888 789 777 777 or visit ccpg.org/chat and we've got a preview of the NBA season. So let's start. Let's start with the Western Conference which is we're going through this the Western Conference and as we're going down through it. I will I'm going to give you groups and I'm going to tell you. So we're going to just try to figure out who are the six that aren't going to have to play their way in and then we'll go eight and eight through 10 as well. All right. I think that we're going to be an agreement on this. There is a group at the top that we believe in Oklahoma City San Antonio Denver and Houston. No question marks on the city. Is that right? Antonio Denver and Houston. Those are my top four. Yes. Yes. It's everybody's top four. I believe. Yeah. Well, you know not everybody think everybody. I didn't expect the pissing. I mean, that wasn't seen the East. Look, you have to sort of like anticipate variance and things having that you don't expect. Fair enough. Yeah. That's my top four. So I have a next group. So I have that as a group at the top. Obviously, Oklahoma City in San Antonio or ahead of the up. Is your next group a group of four? No, it's two. Okay. It's Minnesota and LA. Yep. That's what I have. I mean, top six are expected. But those are talented teams that I have question marks next to. Sure. I am not fully convinced that if those teams were not where I thought they were going to be lining this out, I would be completely unsurprised. If the Lamello ant thing doesn't work and them not having a power forward ends up really hurting them and maybe go bare misses. I mean, like if the Minnesota thing doesn't take it when they three of their top six guys from last year are no longer part of the team. Like that is going to be a wait and see. I know we know Dante's part of the team is just not available. Right. But we know for certain it's going to be fun and fun to watch. Is it going to be good? That's going to be. So that's a question mark. And then the Lakers thing is a question mark just because of exactly what we talked about last week, which is that's a lot on Dodge and Reeves. If you're not in love with the rest. And I'm just not in love with the rest. I'm sorry. And Kessa looked good two years ago. It's fine. You know, I mean, he looked good two years ago on a losing team, but like we don't know. Can you rely on him to be sort of the lone big that's going to be Lucas main production part? There's a lot on him too. This isn't like a, you know, where he had lively gaffer. Right. Yes. Like I mean, this is a lot on like defensively. They'll probably end up just playing drop coverage because they've got Walker Kessler back there. It's stuff. We'll have to be and he'll have to be this unbelievable rim protector. Yeah. They're going to scheme him like they would go bear or wimby. And I don't know if he's ready for that. And if that story is true yesterday about them starting Zaire Williams, like, okay. Okay. Okay. Like again, that's two, that's two teams in particular. Those two that we're talking about, we know one of them as aunt. The other one has Luca and it were, but the season's about to tip off. And it's like, who's playing power forward for these teams? I mean, they're, it's like Kaminga. I think everyone's like, oh, like LeBron's not in the team anymore. It's LeBron's on the team. Rui's not in the team. Marcus Mark's not on the team. Jackson Hayes not on the team. Right. This is a new look. Lakers and they look like. So these are question mark teams for sure, but yeah, you give them the benefit of the doubt because of aunt and Luca. Those top four, if they're not in the top four, I said, who got injured? 100%. I think they're solid. Like those are solid. Then you got to shuffle the deck. You can shuffle the deck. Anyway, you want to in the top four. Like I wouldn't be shocked if it's Rockets is the number one seed in spurs of the four. Like it's not crazy because they're going to be separated by three or four games or whatever, but like if they're not in the top four, someone got injured. And then you're trying to figure out the others after this got hard. This got hard. I have a group here where it's I looked at. So this is your eight through 10. No, that this is a preference now. Like now we're having to get into preference because outside. I don't think either of us is going to feel extremely firm about any of these. And that is Phoenix, Utah Dallas, Portland, Memphis. Phoenix, Utah, Dallas, Portland, Memphis. I have excluded one of those teams from my eight through 10. Memphis. No. Okay. Dallas. No. Phoenix? Yes. Interesting. Because I had New Orleans in sack at the bottom. Like if those teams ended up being much better and the Clippers as well as about the same and the Clippers. So now I think I was what I was saying is I'm trying to extract four out of Phoenix, Dallas, Utah, Portland, and Memphis. And I think I'd kick out Dallas and just hear me out. I think it's at the beginning of this with the massage for you, Jerry, just taking over. They're going to build out kind of trade for picks and use. Yeah. And they're going to build out a round flag with that trajectory, not that I, right? Like I just think up and down the roster, typically what happens. And I would say this about most of these teams, typically what happens when the new guy comes in, he wants his own roster. He wants his owner. So they started with the draft. The last guy got fired for a reason, right? Well, and the old coach has gone as well. So now you're going to build a roster with Cooper flag in mind, with Morris Johnson in mind, and with Dusty May in mind. And so a lot of those guys are left over from the previous incarnation of the mattress. And so I would include, I would include lively in that too. I just, yeah, and I just think it's a transition. Well, they didn't, they didn't, by the way, they didn't extend him. No, I haven't seen him play for a while. Right. And so they were, they were the ones that I was less sure of because I will just say on, you know, you told Portland both have, they both have talent. Like they, like some high level talent on those teams. And so.
They both have high level talent. I do think Memphis is just gonna be the tri-hard team. We learned our lesson last year, which is some of these teams that would not be able, they're not gonna be able to compete like playoff-wise, but like on a night in, night out basis, the deep tri-hard teams can win regular season games because people don't take them seriously. And it's like, wow, you know who really plays hard? And we saw it last year, we saw it with Phoenix, we saw it with Boston, we saw it with Detroit, who ended up winning 60 games. And it's like these teams that have enough players to like really bring an effort every single night. And I think that is exactly the route that Memphis went. So if there is gonna be one of those teams that's like the tri-hard team, it's gonna be them. - And then eating insurance. I mean, they do have one of the sort of main players that were lying on in terms of like style, you know what I mean? The scheme, they have a plan if he's not available because he's not always available. Do you put them in order? - And then like, I do the actual like, like, standings. - And then the Phoenix thing, I just, I didn't like it after Jaylen Green came back. Like they were the tri-hard team. And again, you only get to do it once. You only get to be the team that like the other team shows up and maybe they go out the night before and they don't really care about, you know what I'm saying? Like, you only get to do that once because then after you beat everybody for a year, the next year everybody knows they better fuck a lot because now I'm playing a team that plays hard, right? Like, I mean, I think you only get to take everybody by surprise one day. - I do that in both conferences. You'll find out who I did it from the other conference to. But I'd drop Phoenix actually out of the plane. I just think, I mean, there's a reason we didn't see Malawak last year, you know what I mean? Like Malawak, like, there's a reason. He redshirted. And with Mark Williams not available for who knows how long. I just can't see just the size of the rim protection in the front court being enough to support their back court. - And I would not be surprised at all if the team from this group, like, I think somebody from that group is gonna be the surprise that we look up and maybe he's even ahead of a Minnesota or an LA. - Yeah, and I would look at the places of the jazz for that. - Yes. - You know. - Just town, town. - Yeah, town. - I mean, they got good players. - We've got too many good players. - You got good players. - You know what I mean? - And so, and again, it's also what we're seeing if the league is evolving into, is it better to have a ton of really, or good to really good players or the high end players, can they, because we have seen this already. Like if you're high end players, if you're paying a bunch of money to the high end and then you lose one of them, you're dead. 'Cause you just don't have the requisite depth. And so we're gonna see this across the league. It's really going to be interesting to see. Is it better to have the super high end talent and then just fill out your roster, or is it better to have the more balanced roster all the way down? Because we know when it comes playoff time, you're gonna need the high end talent, right? But over the course of the regular season, you got a lot of these teams that have got it sunk into two, three, four players. And then when you look at what they're gonna bring it off the bench, you are, you don't like it. And so, those, those things. - That was interesting. - That was the big money guys. So, they're a complete opposite. - They're built, it's like, they're, listen, I don't know what strategy is there, but they're like, listen, we're going to take on four, five injuries over the course of this season. And we're ready for it. - Yes. - You know, that's what it feels like that roster is. It's like, they're kind of like two, three deep in every position with a bunch of b's, no a's. Like, who is there going to get a bucket guy? Coward? - It's gonna be Ty Jerome. - Ty Jerome, I guess, yeah, sure. - Yeah. - I mean, that's what the role with at the beginning. I mean, I think he's the five, four, three, two, one guy. - Yeah. - Like, if it comes out to like, you need to go get a bucket. I think that's who they'll count on. And that's, we'll see, we'll see. - We'll see. - I just think they're, I think what they're gonna do is be the tri-hard team. And like the lunchpale, and then they'll have the, you know. As long as Zach, he plays a bunch. Like, they've, they've always been good when he plays. And he changes things. - Dramatic. - Yes, he does. Yes, he does. - When he's out on the court. So, - Yeah, I think we're kind of in line here. - Well, I have them in order. I have mine like, like in order. - Then who'd you have, then who'd you have seven and eight? You tall in Portland? - In that order. - Yeah, okay. And then you had, and then you had Memphis and Dallas. - No, then I had, Memphis and Dallas. Yeah, exactly, in that order, yeah. - Okay, so all right, then we're, we're the same on the 10. I booted out Dallas. - Yeah, we swap out Dallas and Phoenix as the difference between us. We're talking around the nine, which means we're definitely gonna be wrong. - I just think all these teams are gonna be pretty good. - Yeah, and there's always a surprise team. You know, I think what I mean, you are lying on this. I just think the words are gonna be awful. - Oh, you're gonna be awful. - Oh, you didn't even mention them. - I didn't even mention them. - Very awful. - Like I think they might be worse than the Clippers. Seriously. - So the team that might be better than I think is the leg. - Wait, that's later in the rundown. - No, it's not. I'm doing it right now. 'Cause it's a Western Conference team I'm mentioning it before we get into the East. But that's the one. - What's the team that might be better than you think? - I'm saying, the team that might be better than I think they're going to be is the Lakers. 'Cause I just do not, I don't see it. I think the Western-- - Oh, I see what you're saying. Team that you're down on. It's just like, I-- - Yeah. - There's something about Luca when he's healthy. Like he goes to the playoffs. - Yep. - Like, I got it. You know, a bunch of shans when you have Luca-- - I just don't like the roster. Just don't. - Yeah, I just think it's funny. It's like, well, they built this roster around Luca. They built a tailor made it for Luca. I'm like, really, do they? Did they? - Well, I'm just saying, once you get past the top three. And I've always been a huge Colin Sexton fan. But it is a weird, I mean, he's a bench eater on this team. And maybe, like, you know, could do some secondary ball handling at scoring when Austin Reeves is out. But I mean, he's not gonna be on the court with Reeves and Donutsch much. So-- - If what, he just goes down-- - But I've had-- - For a month. - But I'm saying, I mean, I've had, I've watched a lot of Zaire Williams and Jake LaRavia games. And Quentin Grimes is fine. And Mamu is fine. - I like Mamu. - I guess that's what you're doing when Cassidy goes down. But I'm saying, these guys are like, I don't know. Bando, and it's like, look up and down the roster. Is there a bunch of guys who would, you want? I mean, they're getting the Laker bomb. There's no way around it. Everybody gets the Laker bomb. And so all of a sudden, these guys are viewed in a much different way because they're wearing a Laker jersey. We saw that when ESPN moved Walker Kessler up like 20 something spots in their top 100 players. - Based on the five games-- - Why? - They played, but in those five games, per 36, what are we talking about? - I mean, it's crazy. Like, one of the Kessler is like an NFT. There's like an idea of value, but you can't tangible. It's just like, the idea of Walker Kessler is a perfect fit for Luca. I can get it, but like, I haven't seen him play competitive basketball on the NBA. And then the team, because this is a Western conference, 'cause so I will tell you, I have won for the West, and won for the East on these. So that's why I'm thinking-- - That wasn't part of the assignment, that's fine. - No, it's fine. It doesn't matter. It's okay for just talking about the CSers. - Yeah, I'm just joking around. Memphis is the one, obviously, the team that I-- - Furnow. - No, no, they are the one that I would be worried is gonna be worse than I think. - Yeah, no, I agree with that. I agree with that. So it's kind of like, that's why I ask the question like, who is there, golds, get a bucket, guys? - That's right. - Try Jerome. - And maybe Cam Booser. - Crap the bed in the playoffs. - Yeah. - When he was with the calves. And he was a six-man with the calves. I was playing against, sort of, like, second units. Like, he had a great season, that calf season. He had an amazing regular season. Didn't play well in the playoffs. And Cam Booser. - It's a rookie. - Yeah, it's a rookie. - No, but I'd say the team that I could be better than I think they are as the Lakers. And the team that could very easily be worse than I think they are as Memphis in the West. - East. Oh, boy. We are not gonna be in line in this. - This is hard. - This was, dude, I sat down to do this. I was like, this is hard. - Okay. - It's hard. This was hard. - 'Cause I am like, ones that I am sure of. - Anyone. - The next. - Like, I'm talking about, oh, be good. - Oh, be good? - Yeah, sure. - No, I just been like, like playoffs. - Like, we're doing this, though, in terms of like, who's gonna be the playoffs teams and who's not? - Yeah. - I just wrote about it in order. - I would be stunned. - This is gonna be the standings. - Next, Toronto. - Is this in order? - I do not have it in order. - Okay. I- I-
it in is like top six and then yeah let me move down the first ones I listed this is interesting I think the first ones I listed were next Toronto cabs Detroit and Boston okay we're already off I know and then I said I don't know what to do with I had this group Pacer Sixers Orlando Miami I mean any of those teams I don't miss the plan or be the number one scene So which of the ones at the top do you disagree with I think all those teams I'm sure they're going to be good is just a matter of how good and that is Nick Toronto cabs Detroit Boston I injured those teams will all be good teams yeah I mean we have to do this exercise not assuming health correct or I would have had the spurs wait wait people are way lower on Detroit than they should be I think I'm in that I mean they didn't last year too when they won 60 games that's the thing but they they were the team like the like you said about Phoenix in the western conference they were the quote unquote surprise team okay all died but Phoenix won like 40 something the 160 when the how many they win the year previous but they went 60 and 22 that's crazy but the previous year they won like 18 or something it was just like you have nowhere that's fair you know like Detroit used to be a break and they ended up as the number one seat I have I have the Toronto Raptors in the plane at seven oh no I love them I know I know I'm in the minority here I think the minority here I think they're going to be terrible to play against I mean like you traded out Brandon Ingram for a quiet I mean I said that we have to assume everyone's healthy but we can't sit here to act like quite literally 78 games oh I think I think he didn't play for the Clippers because the checks weren't cashed which ones all of them the only one that was was the one from the team but he had deals everywhere with that link the Boingo wireless Boingo the jumbo tron the trees the trees everything respiration yeah nope I have it I have it is I have it in order let's talk through these all right go ahead out so here's I'll react to yours this is um one of my big preseason picks I think the Cleveland Cavaliers are going to be really good next this year oh wow we'll go I have them they were in the friggin east finals dumbass okay you got any more hot dates well I'm saving my I'm saving my big calves thing for I I think a team shut up was in the Eastern Conference Finals is going to be really good I have them as the number one seed who brought their players back and ended Peyton Watson I know this is crazy but this is one of my big ones guys hey do you like the thunder in the first two I hate you I know that much that's I'm sure about we we I have I have a calves Celtics nicks pistons heat sixers so you don't you have the heat in the plan I told you I didn't know what to do with these teams well the well you got to do something that's what I was doing the show for all right I was going to talk it out with you okay well we're in a fight all right Pacers I think are going to be really good I do I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the team of which is game seven of the of the finals is gonna be good they won two games last year and they're starting point guards coming back with them poster Achilles you look good though not like that you got fat you got your shingles yeah shingles guys from the hell and back they've been through a lot the sixers thing I just think it's good sixers are one of these where it's like I think it's going to take a while so the regular season record is not going to be yeah and they got too many guys going to be out it's going to be out if they're going to be like a play into the finals type of team you know what I mean too many guys that are not going to care night in night out oh I disagree no no no I think Jalen Brown Maxi and I said too many to play a lot of games and they're going that's enough to power you to a lot of wins I don't know of a lot of wins in this in this Easter conference I just think their goal is going to be healthy when the playoffs start they are in the team that I will rank much higher on my playoff rankings than my regular season absolutely that's what I have the I have the number six and Orlando I like adding the new coach I always liked their talent but I fear that they're going to get to this point where they're just going to be okay and they're going to be like bro we got to break this up now and then they decide on the Apollo France thing like mid season I can totally see that happening couldn't you where it's like why are we spending a billion dollars on an average team I just want to say that they have to be awesome in order to validate continuing this this was really hard the this eastern conference was a lot harder than the western conference because when you close your eyes and say they were I have the Orlando magic is the what the eight seed they could be the one seed you know what I mean like like they have the talented potential to be healthy new coach new system new blood new energy yes and we're here in the Orlando magic song and just like the pistons last year yeah no one saw it coming but they won 56 games and they're the one seed and like it's hard to predict the team that you have is the eight seed that could also has the potential to be the one seed it's just a very difficult conference to predict because also we never see them healthy and unison it's like the nets it's like when they when they had ever in hard and in Katie it's like it's like yeah they have these players in the roster but they don't play together like what if we ever did see a bunch of games with soaps Paulo fronds and Anthony black and yeah yeah yeah but I mean they just didn't they they you know what that was another rookie extension that didn't get done Anthony black because the teams too expensive like it's no it's not too expensive it's too expensive to go and have the results that they've had over the past three years totally fair it on this show if you look back at it probably the last two seasons we talked about how we expect the Orlando magic to like win the Easter whatever I know we're really high on them and kept thinking they were going to take the next step but maybe you know maybe it was I am I'm totally holding out that the coach could make all the different to the world I know nothing I know nothing about this man I'm not gonna see like me in Sean sweetie hang out all the time and talk talk hoops no he's high reputation he's great reputation great reputation and then Miami is the hardest for me so I we talked about Miami last episode you want to use the show to work this out we talked about coach Spolstra culture their roster John is coming back with something to prove like we did this oh we could go and then I could go and then and then I listened to the low post and uh all right the the Zack Lo Show and Stan Van Gundy was like trying to convince me this team's not good I was like oh shoot what does he know I was like does he know what he's talking about he listen to him and he's pretty like he's like kind of persuasive he's like I'm not really in the I he's like I don't know if Davey out Mitchell's a starting point guard and Bams overrated offensively and I was like damn it man I mean I was just thinking I still think this I'm not gonna I'm not gonna back off now I think they're gonna get so many stops and then transition Yannis is on if Yannis stays healthy they will be outstanding and he's not gonna play 82 but relatively healthy with no major injuries or surgeries or anything yeah I think they're gonna be great he's been on awesome teams of the less talent than this he's just a one man we had this conversation last week can you have them where where do you have them the 18 I can't do it no we had this conversation last week is Stan Van Gundy made you made you flip sides I said I didn't know what to do with the fine I'm higher on them than I can all right I'm back I got me number five I have a number five I have my both the sixers below the calf Celtics nix and pistons and that's the right thing I just think now you're too low on Detroit again when is Detroit gonna get some respect I have Detroit is number four what yeah calves Celtics nix pistons heat sixers those are my top five top six in order have a hot take calves are gonna be good so then the team I had about low the pace her sixers Orlando and Miami was Atlanta that I
I mean, just here's what I'll say. And I'll go ahead and spoil this. The team that could be better than I think, this is your eastern version of this, where it's like not the high level talent, but like depth, good coach in quince nighter. It's got to figure out how to use them. Obviously Johnson is an all-star caliber player. He's outstanding and he may grow a little, but the tri-hard team, that could for sure, I could see that being Atlanta, where it's like, oh my God. And the few Alexander Walker continues doing that. And here's Daniel's just hot and just dominating. Yeah, Dorn Dale's just making-- Just a bitch to play against. People's lives so good. And it's like, no. Yeah, and you're playing them on Tuesday night, and like, and look, Atlanta's a tough place to play anyway, because everybody goes out the night before, and-- Oh, the Washington Wizards come to town and Trey Young wants to show everybody what, you know, that they made a mistake. And then Dorton Dales are just double-cuffer even the back court. Yeah. It's going to be terrible. I'm just saying, what is that night? I'm going to watch that one. I'm just saying, if there is a tri-hard team, and then you have these like wild cards, which are-- So wait, so do you have-- how do you have them? Because I did the actual standings. Where do you have the hawks? Because some people don't get invited to the dance. So I was debating on Atlanta Washington as Charlotte, as which of those I want to be my tri-hard. Atlanta, Washington, Charlotte. I picked Atlanta as my ten-seed. I have Charlotte and Washington outside of the plane. No, OK. I do want to say this. My team, then I'm worried about being much better than I think they are, are the Washington Wizards. Can't you see a world in which-- look at starting five. Trayon, Keeshan George, depends to Davis and Sar. Yes. Yes, I could see it. Yes, I could see them. Yes. And Davis playing for a contract or a trade. Probably a trade. But like, Trayon-- oh, we're going to win now. All right, I'll show you how to win. I think people forget is how effective Trayon is. He's one of the best offensive weapons in the NBA. He's one of the best passers in the NBA. Probably third. Look, I love DeBonsta. And if the Trayon, Anthony Davis thing works like NBA Jam, it's a great NBA Jam team. There's no way to recognize it. Like, you can see it on the T-shirt, like, from back in the day. Right. Trayon get Anthony Davis. Good. It could work. I'm with you on this. They're both all NBA level players in their past. Yeah, they've both been franchise players for other franchises. Correct. And I think Davis is a champion. And there was a conversation after game four of the finals. Is he the finals MVP or LeBron James? Yeah. Back for LeBron James was LeBron James. And the Charlotte thing is too hard to figure out right now because of the injuries, right? Like, I mean, I just-- I saw them in person the other night, and they were just a shell of them. So, like, there was no Kobe White. There was no Con-Canipal. There was no-- I will say this. You know, I really like who-- I had to go to this preseason game, so I might as well watch it. You were looking at best hats for golf, best good best golf visors? No, I watched it. Oh, good. Steinbach. They're woopie. I liked him, man. He moves way better. I thought he was more of a lumberer. He's not a lumberer. He's pretty athletic, and he crashes boards. I mean, he's a great rebounder. Did you talk to the prospector about him? I liked Steinbach. I had never seen him play in person. Prospector had a blind spot for him. Yeah, he didn't pay much attention. And so-- Kind of a blind spot. By the way, one of Prospector's guys is killing it for Miami. Ryan Conwell. Oh, yeah. Do we feel killing it? They're all there in love in Miami with Ryan Conwell. Prospector was all over him. Yeah. I have-- So Brooklyn and Milwaukee, the only rat teams, is that fair? The bulls would like to have a conversation. That's fair. You know? I thought you were hiding it. But they are fun. They're going to be fun. I convinced myself they were going to be good, but upon further inspection. They're not. They're going to be fun to watch. Chicago. Chicago. Chicago. And you know what? And there's a sentiment that like Brooklyn might not be a piece of crap. But who knows? Yeah, Yegor and Porter Jr. and Julie Strickendell. Kull Black. Brown. Brown. Close enough. [LAUGHS] Miami is the team that I am worried could be worse than I think. And that's 100% because of-- [INTERPOSING VOICES] [LAUGHTER] They fired him. Of course he's upset. He's a hotness. Yeah, they fired him. We know. It's youngness. It's youngness. Yeah, this is like Luca. Yeah, it's like Luca or Yoke. But you like it, yes. They're just going to win games because he's an unstoppable machine of a basketball player. Put five guys with a pulse, four guys with a pulse around him. And you're going to win some games. Yes. And I think they're going to be hard as hell to score on. All right. Yeah, Luca. And then the team that could be better than I think is Atlanta. Because I don't know what to do with them. I don't know what to do with Atlanta. I've just tried to find the tri-hard team. Like, who's the tri-hard? Who doesn't have the requisite talent? But like, why are they winning so much? It's like, oh, they do. It's just hard for me to buy the Atlanta thing because, you know, after the nicks were down to one, like, it was a close-out game in Atlanta. They were up like a hundred and three to forty three. Do you remember that? Yes. It's just hard because that was, again, like, you always overvalued like the last thing you saw. Like, that's the last thing I saw from that scene. They were down to a hundred and three to forty three, dude, and it all going to close out in the playoffs. Yeah. That happened. Dylan Johnson did not cover him, so that's, that's why, that's why they went and signed Lew Doerr. Okay. Said not on his watch. Okay. Not on his watch. The awards seem almost, I guess, finals picks. I've got Oklahoma City in New York. Think New York gets one more run at it. So, I've got, okay, see you in New York. That's what I've got. This is how I came to my, I've got, okay. Okay. Yeah, with with Jay Dubb and I don't believe in the spurs, particularly picture women Yammer. But what have been suspended for game six, for record? I've got, I'm looking at the last four Eastern conference champions from four years ago we have Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat. No one saw that coming. Then after that, you have the Boston Celtics. People saw that coming. They were the best team in the conference, right? And then after that, you've got the Pacers. Even half of it through the season, no one saw that coming. And then the next, I let a year ago today, I do not think the Nixper Championship contenders and they won the whole thing. So I'm looking at it saying, it's not who you think it's going to be. There's a pattern here. It's not who you think it's going to be, which is why I have the Cleveland Cavaliers going to the finals. Oh, wow. That's what I know. That's what I know, I say earlier, it's hard doesn't vomit on themselves. That's what I got 20 years. It's not who you think it's going to be. I did not think it was going to be the Nix. I certainly didn't think it was going to be the Pacers. I certainly didn't think it was going to be Jimmy Butler's, Miami Heat when they lost the Nuggets. For the record, I picked the Nix to make the finals last year, but I had him against Denver. So for what a tourist. I had Denver versus the Nix. So I think the Nix are going to, I think it's a two year window. You know, that it breaks up after this, but they'll get one more round. I think the cast, I think it's the, I think it's the casier. I think one of the reasons the Nix did so well last year was continuity and they have that this year. This cat stuff, man, I know that it's like the New York market. You need something to talk about and you got to fill the radio station, airwaves and all that. But like, this is getting weird. Oh, oh, this is good. All right. So one of the things that you mentioned, you said, hey, if you want to do like a crazy bold prediction at the end, and so I would just tell you, no, you don't have to, I just, I just started writing down a bunch of crap and I was like, do I want, do I want to go with this? Do I want to go with this? I'll just throw them all at Jacobi. One of my, one of them I wrote down was that town's thing becomes an actually very bad distraction that messes everything up. We're already there. Oh, you think so? It's going to get brought up already there in the locker room. Everyone wants to think about the parade and the OG tip and the, you know, and they're bombing out the sixers in game four with all those threes in the first half and like, you know, the margin of victory records that they set. It's all celebration celebration celebration. It wasn't the cakewalk last year because you remember I went back with all the headlines And it was like five times during the year.
year that Kat was in the press on record, being like, I don't understand my role in this offense. I don't understand what I'm doing here. He's, you know, he was complaining. You have to take this into consideration that he is like a passive aggressive king. Yes. And so you could totally see if say like, I don't know, talk to the guys that are probably going to be here next year. It's not just Kat. Like, it's not just Kat. Josh Hart. Same. They're all passive aggressive. No, I just feel like there's a couple of guys that they wanted to get, won a champion chip. See, I'm extension eligible, eligible. I want to get paid. Like, that is my caution. But I think Hart's fine. And I think because it's all of his buddies and I think Hart will be fine and he'll, he'll actually just like let it go. And it's not going to be a thing. He's not going to be changing his Instagram and taking all the nicks tough off and, you know, all this kind of stuff. This is ridiculous. You can just see. It's already started. Yeah. Like, the conversation isn't on like, repeat. It's on Kat's contracts. Did you see if you like these other ones better though? I hate that one. Okay. Uh, Pablo takes down another owner. Oh, I mean, that's a guarantee. Okay. That's a guarantee. That's. Yeah. All right. The point guard that's moved by Portland Swings, the playoff race and playoffs. Boy. Oh. Oh. And I'm. And I'm not. Or Drew or Scoot. I said, the whichever one, whichever one, it's not going to be Lillard. No, trading will be really weird. But couldn't you see the other three possibly having an impact on the job to Detroit? Well, not Detroit. He's not going to play alongside Kate, but they need a second creator. Like they have Dennis Jenkins and that's by right now. I don't, I don't even want to say this out loud because they're going to, it's how, I know they're going to try to trade for Kyrie. Yeah. But you know where he would be perfect because a lot like the New York thing where you're flanked with huge guys everywhere. Marant would be perfect in Toronto. Perfect. With Kauai, Barnes, Barrett, like all these like long. Yeah. Yeah. I didn't. I didn't. Quickly minutes to Kyrie Irving. No. And he is a set everybody up guy. Yeah. Yeah. He's a true point guy. He's developed into a true point guard. Yeah. Just sort of like, like, oh, he hasn't seen the ball in a few possessions. Let me get it over to him. I know coach called this play, but I feel like he really needs a touch. Like he's a real point guard in that sense. There would be, there would be sometimes where he didn't even like shoot the ball until like the second quarter. Like really? Like he would just, he is, he is, that's how he plays. Like, let's get everybody else. Everybody else called LeBron said that he like took too many shots or never. They played in Utah and he took zero shots. But I do think holiday, I think, could have a profound impact for somebody as well. And then they did not give scooty rookie extension. So that was, I mean, not like El Chippo was going to, but today's the reason. I've got a Lamello and Ant and the Philly thing, all become cautionary tales of throwing stars together again, like we continually learned this lesson of like, you know, oh, they're building something that we all get excited about it. And then it's like, still one basketball, does it make them all better, right? And we're about to find out it. I'm not telling you that Ant and Lamello aren't going to be able to create the best version of both of them, but I wonder, there's no way around it. You've got to wonder if a, are they both going to be able to be the best version of themselves plaguing together. We've seen all kinds of stars, you know, sometimes it takes and sometimes it doesn't. We're about to see it in Philly as well, right? Sometimes it takes and sometimes it doesn't. You can throw the stars together and you actually do, you're both the best versions of yourselves. It works. You can play together and both be the best versions of yourselves and sometimes it doesn't. Do you look up and it's Chris Paul and James Harden or whatever, you know, it's, to me, and then it's Russell Westbrook and James. It's not, you know, if Minnesota doesn't work, I don't, I think it's Lamello's health, right? You know, health number one, and then number two would just be front court support. Like I don't, I think they're actually a good basketball match. We'll see. Yeah. I think the problems, you know, staying healthy of course, that's for anybody, but then just like, they don't have a powerful word, yeah, you know, and go bare is not, you know, he's challenged offensively sometimes. When we're talking about this season, I mean, the last thing we'll talk about is the award. I feel like everybody has the exact same picks for all of these. Yeah. And then when BNVP, boozer rookie of the year, when B defensive player of the year, and then you can debate. No hearty. Will Hardy is coach. No, God. You can debate on coach and six man, right? Is that fair? You can debate on what? Coach and sixth man. So let me do this exercise with you, okay. Because I picked a sleeper MVP just for the sake of conversation because I think if when we play 65 and, you know, is on some sort of like tear and then completely falls apart in the playoffs, he did last year at the end. I think that that way we'd probably garner him the MVP, would have been suspended, I tried to murder Nas Reed and then tried to punch Jaylen Bronson, but oh, yeah, he's the best. What a great guy. What a great guy. Yeah, we love him. Oh, yeah, we love him. Yeah, try to murder Nas Reed. Everybody hates Nas Reed. I'm an agitator on the court there, Jaylen Bronson just unprovoked, just tried to hurt him physically. Should I kick that out of the game? Sleeper MVP pick, I have one for you. No one's going to have promises, certainly an MVP caliber talent. Zion! We'll have the opportunity to lead his team to the top of his conference and he is sort of like, there is no question about who gets the ball at the end of the game. And that's Jason Tatum. If the Celtics have the best record in the Eastern Conference, and it is, it all works. And he is putting up numbers and defending people and assists, getting people going like, it really looks like Jason Tatum again, is an upgrade over Brown with a little bit more support, some help from Paul George, little little Mitchell Robinson, you know, there's a side dish. I could see him being the MVP of the NBA. Okay, this is interesting because it's also a good answer to the question of, okay, let's take away all these guys. So the top, they don't get 65. Okay, well, we're saying like, also like the five guys at the top, which all happened to be international players, SG, I'm saying the guys that are like five guys at the top. I under, well, like go look at the MVP voting, but even last year, generally, you're going to have. You're going to have SG A, Wembee, Yo Kitch, Luca and Yannis, right? If you want to put Brunson in there, you can. And then, and then you really have like Tatum and Cade, Tatum, and Cade, um, I don't see the patients doing what they did last year, I just don't see it. You don't know how about how I could see, how about Hawaii, no, absolutely not. Hey, and then Pablo could do an episode on it on what? I'm telling you, man, there's a world in which Jason Tatum could be the MVP. Can't you see that as a sleeper? Can't you see that? Yes. Best record in the Eastern Conference. He's putting up whatever numbers. And he's got the sweet story of coming back to me. Yeah. And he's, you know, before the Achilles thing, he's been very durable, plays a bunch of games, you know, they'll, they'll sit him here and there. Mm-hmm. I can see it. Do you think there's any way that we look up and everybody is very high on Boston? And I know they won a lot of games. Oh, I can see it. Do you think there's any way, though, we look up and go, bro, they traded Jalen Brown for Paul George. Of course they're not going to be good. Yeah. Yes. Where we look up, and they're just like, okay, like they're pretty good. But it's like the last year, people did not take them seriously as they had in the past because Tatum was out and they busted people's ass. And it's also, Jalen Brown, and Paul and Hauser and Namiya's Cata, it's just right. That's who they did it with. They were a tri-hard team. They were. Derek White didn't even play well. They tried well. And when I say the tri-hard team, I mean, like, yeah, dude, you weren't as good as we thought you were during the regular season, which shows up in the post season because people are only planning for one team. And then it got exposed. And it's like, oh yeah, you look up it on Tuesday.
This is not like painting Pritchard ain't busting people's asses anymore, you know? But through the regular season they were doing it. I just, there is a part of me. There's a part of me that looked, it's like, if we all forgotten they got rid of one of the best players of the NBA and replaced it with Paul George, that did happen. So there is a part of me that wonders on them. Like just because it seems like no one is wondering. Yeah, because it seems so simple. It's like, it's like, it's like, swap out Jalen Brown for Jason Tatum and we added Paul George and Mitchell Robinson. Therefore, we've improved all three of those positions. So that means a better team, not a worse team. Right. Well, and it's not exactly like George and Robinson have been the Beacon's belt. No, I've got a bold prediction for you. Ready? Let me hear the calves are going to be good. I have them going to the finals. That's bold. Come on. It's stupid. I just didn't want to say it because we didn't get to that part yet. All right. We're recording this. It's after the all-star break. Team's not doing well. Coach doesn't get fired. He just resigns midseason. Oh, Steve Kerr. Oh, that's not bold. I mean, I mean, he'd quit to pull up. Midseason is walking out. Yeah, he's calling playoff games on TNT. Oh, no, he's on these at the piece. Oh, it's not on TNT anymore. Damn, I'm still I'm so old. Yeah, that's about two years. I miss it. I miss it. I'm pretty bold. Come on. I can't. Midseason. He pulls step into his office like step. I just can't do this anymore. I've seen enough. I'm starting George Yang tonight. It's just that I can't do it. Oh, I could totally see that like I could straight Dramon getting traded. Him walking up. Yeah, I could go and off into the sun seven like that. Yeah, they're going to be bad. Dramon's going to freak out. Yeah. And it's going to be so bad in Golden State, the Golden State. I do think this is going to be the best regular season of our lives times. I do believe that when you have taken into the anti-tanking and the 65 game rule is going to add up to the best regular season we have ever had. And as someone who plays more attention to the Eastern Conference, it's just it was impossible to do the standings today. This is great. This is great though. The wizards are like a must-watch. The wizards. I know. The nets are interesting. The only team I couldn't care less about is the Milwaukee Bucks. Like, okay, I liked out of hero, but like whatever. There's nothing to see here. Burries like burries. I'll check out burries. Ryan Rollitz. I saw that last year. He did. He saw that. Yeah. That's fair. Nate Ahmed. They drafted him. Yeah. Yeah. I saw that. I mean, prospect. They're not a fan. Prospect. Not a fan. Not a fan. Yeah. All right. Tomorrow day. Oh, no. No. No. The band is going up tomorrow night. Tonight, I should say tonight. Let's just check. Let's just check some tickets. Maybe it's just buy impulse buy real quick. Hold on, say thank you to our. I'm going to say you can hang off of the Harry Styles banner for two grand. That's it. You can't get in the building for two grand. Let's just see it tomorrow night. You don't take so. Oh, yeah. You get in the building for 1500. It says, let's say two tickets. One for me and one for Burno. It's actually not crazy. Crazy. But you're got really bad seats for around $2,000. You can get a decent pair of tickets for $3,000 a piece. Oh, but that's not even great. Let's just see here. I just go to the net's game. $32,000. $32,000 for Roa. You buy season tickets to the net. $9,000 for a good seat. Someone asked me if I was going to the game tomorrow today. Like, people think like I'm either rich or like have those kind of connections. You get a medium. Get a medium pass. But then you just like sit there with the press nerds. You can't have a cheer. I'll be crying. I'm not doing that. They'll reject me. It's going to be about Wimbing Yamal last year. It's going to be a man. It's going to be amazing. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, God. Just think about like Spike Lee. That you know what I mean? That Joe, I'm going to he goes to every game for years and years and years and years. And he's going to watch the banner go up tomorrow night. Yeah, it's going to be amazing. It's going to catch the Victoria's secret fashion show. Uh, I just saw clips on Instagram. Yeah, I don't think anyone watched it. I don't know how that got in my algorithm. Yeah, I was like, oh my God, get this smud off. Yes. Yes. Gross. Oh, Lee, can we go back to golf tips and dogs? Yeah. Yeah. Yes. You're part of it. I don't know how I got there, honey. All right. He's the algorithm. So off. Yeah. All right. It's going to do. It's going to do it. Hey, we are about to have an unbelievable NBA season. We are going to be back to two times a week. Twice a week.
