Gavin Williams dominates again | Fantasy Baseball Advice

Jakson päätähti on Gavin Williams, joka jatkaa huippusuorituksiaan. Hänestä on tullut vastustamaton syöttäjä, jolla on korkea strikeout-prosentti ja parantunut hallinta. Vaikka hänen ERA:nsa on hieman koholla kotijuoksujen vuoksi, häntä pidetään luotettavana fantasy-pelaajana. Dominic Canzone puolestaan osoittaa kykynsä lyödä vasenkätisiä syöttäjiä, mikä voi tehdä hänestä arvokkaan vahvistuksen monissa liigoissa. Curtis Meadin kausi on ohi rannemurtuman vuoksi, mutta hänen tulevaisuutensa näyttää lupaavalta. Byron Buxtonin lonkkavaiva huolestuttaa, ja Twinsin ostopäätös on vaakalaudalla. Casey Schmidtin kausi saattaa päättyä polvivamman vuoksi, kun taas Kyle Harrison on palaamassa. Tyler Glasnow ja Will Smith etenevät toipumisessaan, mikä tuo lisää syvyyttä fantasy-joukkueisiin loppukaudeksi. Jakso käsittelee myös muita pelaajia, kuten Vladimir Guerrero Jr.:tä ja Vinnie Pasquantinoa, joiden tilanteita seurataan tarkasti.

(Avallistus) Mennäänkin huomena korkeasaarein. Eläinteisaariona voinna vuoden jokaisena päivänä. Pierallimalla korkeasaareissa tuet eläinlajien ja villinluon on suojelua. Tutustupäivän ohjelmaan, korkeasaaripistefi. (Avallistus) Welcome to the Fantasy Baseball today podcast from CBS Sports. (Avallistus) (Avallistus) T-class film! This is WTF! WTF! Täällä on Fannasi-question, [email protected]. Täällä on Fannasi-pallistus! Täällä on Fannasi-baseball. William starts now. We have to talk about him. He keeps doing really, really interesting and cool and fun things that are helping your fantasy team. We don't really know what to make of him, but Scott, I'm interested to get your thoughts after you and I came to a datont in our Gavin William's disagreements in our most recent discussion. We're also going to fire up the legit O-meter. A brand new, never before tested tool that we're going to use on today's show. And much more from Tuesday's action around MLB, but we will start with this. Holy cow! What about that? It was kind of quiet. It's a little underwhelming when it's quiet. I'm sorry. That's one of the ones that Frank left for me to use. Oh my goodness, Gracious Player the Night. And it's got to be Gavin Williams, who became the second pitcher in MLB history per Sarah Langs. The second pitcher since 1900, I guess, with four straight games of 10 plus strikeouts and one or fewer walk. Chris Dale is the only one who's done it before. He did it five straight in 2018. Gavin Williams, he went into Cincinnati. That was in Cincinnati, right? Yeah, I think so. Seven innings, three hits, two earned runs, one walk, 12 strikeouts, his fourth start with 11 strikeouts in a row for Gavin Williams. He has 51 strikeouts to just four walks in 31 and a third innings in five July starts. He also has a 345ERA, which is kind of weird, because there were a couple of bad starts in there. And the most part, he's been very, very good. Homers have been the big issue for him all season. He gave up another one today, also had a wild pitch. He actually took the loss in this start, believe it or not. But when he avoids homers or avoids them with runners on base, he's generally very, very good. And he has made some changes to his approach in the month of July, which was notably really, really leaning on his sweeper and four seamer, which he threw 81% of the time in this start, entering today in July, it had been about 60% combined for those starts. Before July, it was below 50%. So it's probably not a bad idea for Gavin Williams, because those are the two best pitches in his arsenal from both a swing and miss standpoint. The sweeper 43% with rate 244 expected MOBA. And the four seamer 30% with rate 305 expected MOBA. Those are both very, very good pitches. His curve balls also been very good. I don't want to make it sound like the curve balls a problem or anything. But he had 25 whiffs on 101 pitches today. He was just overwhelmingly dominant. And last time we talked, I think you've been a little higher on Gavin Williams over the course of, let's say, the last year. And I've been much more skeptical. And the last time we talked, I think we kind of both met in the middle, a little bit of like, yeah, he's really good and really frustrating. And it's probably just a 350 to 370 ERA at the end of the day. And there's going to be really good stretches and really bad stretches. And we should probably just expect him to be that. Do we want to change that at all? I mean, I think we nailed it. I think that's, I think we arrived at the right place. Obviously he is at his best right now. And his best is really, really good. He is an electric bat-missor. It's missing tons of bats right now. I mean, the biggest leap from last year, and really we saw it in the second half last year, was the control improving. But, yeah, even earlier this year, he had some issues with that. First three starts. First three starts, he issued 14 walks. And since then, he's had 24 total. So, yeah, that seems like the biggest improvement between this year and last year. And maybe the control issues will come back someday. Maybe not. But the one issue he still has is he tends to give up a lot of hard contact. And a lot of it manifesting. His home runs, like you've said, for as good as dominant as Gavin Williams has been, lately, he still has a 371 ERA overall. Which, you know, that kind of sums it up. I would predict his ERA will finish a little below 371, but only a little below 371. And meanwhile, everything else will probably still be so good that you don't really mind that the ERA is kind of high. Yeah. But you're very happy to have him around a matter of what? I do think the ERA will be kind of high. And, you know, obviously, keep starting him. I don't know that there is a point this season where I said, don't start him. Yeah. You enjoy, you take the occasional lumps to enjoy stretches like this. Yeah. And, you know, what's interesting is even before this, this, like stretch, I guess, you know, the 45 strikeouts and four starts that he's on. The strikeout rate was good, but it's really obviously taking a step forward lately. Yeah. He's just, he's a weird picture. He's kind of frustrating. I've got a segment later. All caps. Why are these guys so inconsistent and obviously Gavin Williams doesn't really belong in there right now because he's been good for a few starts. But if he went out and gave up three home runs in his next start and five runs and five innings, I wouldn't really be surprised either. I think he's good. I think the ERA is going to be a little higher than you, you might hope. He's probably a number two pitcher in fantasy rather than a number one who gets more strikeouts than the typical number two starting pitcher. He might just be like pre-2026 Dylan Seese. You know, maybe better control now, but yeah, a similar, a similar vibe. Sure. I could go with that. Another guy who's going to be better if we want a nitpick. This season, yes, the overall vibe. Yeah, I'm, I hear what you're saying. Another guy whose whose vibes are looking awfully good right now is Dominic Kenzone, your player of the night. Yeah, Dominic Kenzone, homerid twice on what day was today, Tuesday, homerid twice. And that brings them to 18 home runs on the season. So he's been a guy who's been hitting a lot of home runs. What made these two home runs special though, is they were both off left-handed pitchers. Yes. Pretty good left-handed pitchers. Justin Robleski was the first home run. And Alex Dessier. Yeah, that might be even more impressive. The second home run doubled his home run total against lefties for the season from two to four. And the main reason he doesn't have many home runs against lefties is for most of the year he hasn't been gone to play against lefties. For it's been basically his entire career hasn't gone to play against lefties. But as I said, one of the home runs was against Robleski, which means he's Kenzone started this game. And that makes it now for lefties in a row that he started against. And that was something that Jerry DePoto confirmed. He said a couple, maybe last week, Dominic Kenzone's going to be in every day. Going to be in every day player movement forward for us. Let's see if I can find the most updated stats against lefties now coming off this two-homer game. That brings Kenzone now up to a 286 batting average. Really? 286 batting average four home runs against. He's got a better line now against lefties than righties. It's only a 22% strikeout rate. Yeah. It's a tiny sample. It's like 45 plate appearances. Because when I say he wasn't just that he wasn't starting against lefties earlier this year, even against the righties when he started, if a leftie came in, he'd come out. Kenzone. So he has a total of, I have the bats here, 35 of bats. But a one-to-one strikeout to walk ratio. And now, you know, slugging 657. Obviously that slugging percentage jumped a lot with the two-homer game off lefties because the sample was so small. It was already pretty good before though. The point was he doesn't seem overmatched. Like even over a small sample. If you can't hit lefties, you're probably not going to do that. So I mean, Kenzone's been a good hitter. All along the big problem was They don't trust him against lefties if they trust him against lefties now and he's making good on that trust I Think can zone is Going to flirt with being usable even in three-out fields or leagues. I don't know that you need to rush to add them there yet, but I I'm open to it. Yeah, I'm open to it and I've never been open to it before he had one home run in nine played appearances against lefties entering the season. He's got four and 45 right now The underlying numbers such as they are in 45 played appearances are pretty good This is a situation where we know he can hammer righties and so it's just Can he keep his head above water enough to be in the lineup and get you know 15 to 20 RBI over the course of the season and not Totally kill his counting stats and it looks like he can and So I I agree I think it's enough to any five-out failure league. He should be rostered for sure But I think even a lot of three outfielder leagues right now. I feel does not in a specially strong position When it comes to to depth so I'm Totally open to the idea that Dominic and zone should just be rostered pretty much everywhere right now I'm not saying like you said not doesn't have to be But I think he's a viable choice. I think with the direction Brandon marshes trending If you have Brandon marshes at the other league. I'd make that's yeah, that's an exchange I'd make Do you happen to have George Springer in the notes today? I know he homeered again It was only a one hit game if I'm if I remember correctly, but he's been trending up certainly. Yeah, so that's That would be an interesting decision because I was Springer still rostered at more than 90% of CVS sports leagues Adding 291 with four home runs now in July Not starting out at all Well, what I've noticed is that that fast swing rate that fueled his resurgence last year It was 40% last year big jump over the past few years It's up to 33% now this season which isn't 40% but remember early on it was Hovering in the 20% range so like he is He may be trending the right direction now. He's been in and out of the lineup a lot with with Health issues and at his age that might just be what the rest of his career looks like and that would make even if he's performing well that would make him Difficult to use in fantasy, but George Springer is Somebody who Who could end up being impactful still over the final two months? It's kind of a tangent there With Dominic Kanzel, but but two two outfielders who Could surprisingly be of use in three outfielder leagues? I agree and with that we're gonna take our first break of the night before we do Make sure you like and subscribe to the podcast anywhere you get your podcast Spotify Apple leave us a five star review with with something nice or at least something not too mean and Like and subscribe on YouTube we're up to 38,000 subscribers. We'd love to get 40k by the end of the year Maybe 40k by opening day of next year might be a little more realistic But I believe in y'all and we can do it and with that let's take our first break Men can huomena korkeasa aren't Elaine de saariana, voida, joe, kaisena, päivänä Pierralimala korkeasaaressa tuet elaine lajen ja villinluono suojello tutustup päivän ohjelmaan korkeasaaripistefi Hey, hello welcome back. I'm Chris towers. That's Scott white. We're back on fantasy baseball today And we're gonna talk news and notes from Tuesday and Unfortunately Curtis me ended up suffering a fractured left wrist in his very first game with the boss red socks on Monday You know, it was announced Monday night. I think the red socks came out and said it was a contusion And so I X-rays were negative thought we had we were out of the We were out of the danger zone and then he gets put on the IL and it's Probably done for the season that has not been said yet, but you know Scott you've said it many times over the past few days, but We're about nine weeks left in the baseball season maybe eight and a half now. Yeah exactly eight eight sounds like the right amount of time to recover from a broken bone, right? Like I'm not a doctor I think it's more like six, but then you got to figure you gotta get back Rehab assignment and all of that and then is it at that point this season isn't even worth it probably depends what state of contention the red socks are in But the six-week timetable would be if surgery isn't required and he's going to see a specialist to determine that and Maybe this is just a kind of a Doom saying but I feel like when they they need it confirmed whether surgery is needed or not usually it is Like yeah, if it's not then you usually don't get a second opinion if the first opinion is everything looks good Yeah, just chill, you know No reason to rush to judgment. I guess but it's it's a bomber though. Yeah, well for sure For sure, for sure, on like so many levels for the red socks for Curtis me obviously like Big breakout this season the underlying numbers looked legit. He's been really good all season basically You finally was starting to play every day with Washington or at least pretty close was going to play every day for Boston Should have been a very good fit in Boston and he's someone when you look ahead to 2027 And I think it's a really interesting player to figure out how to rank because Well, he's not gonna have second base eligibility now unfortunately because he was trending that way But he's gonna open next season with first and third base eligibility and Maybe maybe with the plan of him picking up second-based. Yeah, you know Obviously the red socks could make moves between now and then that change needs outlook, but they have him for I think through 2030 at least so I believe so yeah So this could still be a long-term win for them and for him but Uh, you know you got to think their recent resurgence and Return into the playoff race is what prompted that deal and You know, would they would they like it back now? I think the nationals are saying they'll take backs He probably won't be a top 12 third baseman in the rankings to open next season, but I he'll be worth drafting and Based on how he's played this season like looking ahead to next year you'd rather have Curtis Mead than a Hania Suarez Casey Schmidt I think Schmidt season might also be done. We'll get to that shortly and then you get into like Alex Braggman versus Curtis Mead in a rodo league That's gonna be pretty close Alex Curtis Mead versus Esauk Paratus That'll be pretty close my co-car sea versus Curtis Mead I think he'll be in the top 12-ish discussion Four next season. We'll see how Royce Lee finishes the season. We'll see how cold I'm or some finishes season We'll see how Braggman and Garsey finish the season because I think I'm gonna have a lot to say I look how When when players have established a certain level of They've shown themselves to be of a certain caliber You can't totally count on it Being gone just because it's been gone for a few months. I mean look at many Machado So I'm lay over the last month Machado looks like Machado again And we all feel stupid for lowering him too much in our rankings All right, but it'll be interesting to see what happens with Curtis Mead heading into 2027. I hope we see him again this year um Moving on, Byrd Bucksston was removed from Tuesday's game with the right hip soreness the same hip that has been an issue for a while Recording I else didn't earlier in the season. I was gonna say that You know you have to be a little worried that they might shut him down except the twins apparently are going to be buyers at the trade deadline according to It was Jeff Passon who reported it. Well, it was their GM who said oh yeah, okay um I don't know if I believe it yeah and They just got to 500 they just got to 500 they are technically in the playoff race, but they have basically no bullpen Yeah um And now Byron Bucksston Did you bring this up yet? Is this is this what got us talking about? Yes, that's what got us talking. Yeah Byron Bucksston if their best player is still dealing with hip issues I mean what happens if they go on five between now and the trade deadline? Yeah, like It is that much on a on a knife's edge You know for so many of these teams and uh We've talked before as early as start to a baseball season ever right? I believe so yeah The august on august third trade deadline is by no means an early trade deadline So like some teams are gonna be like 110 games into the season by the time the trade deadline hits right So I think it's interesting how and I wonder if this was by design they've they've made the trade deadline deeper into the seasons so that with so many playoff spots available now so many teams in it. it deep into the race, they have more time to assess whether or not they're in it, whether or not they should buy or sell. Twins are saying they're going to buy, but I could again, it's on a knife's edge, I think, and it could change by the time the deadline gets here. All right. Vladimir Guerrero left Monday's game with right hamstring tightness, something to watch for on Wednesday. Casey Schmidt, as I mentioned earlier, went on the aisle with a torn meniscus and his left knee suffered that on Monday late in that game. This season could be over if he opts to have the ligament repaired, which I feel like that's usually the most likely outcome. The meniscus, you can have it removed, you can have it shaved down or you can have it repaired and the repair is typically the longest timetable and that would almost certainly end his season given that the giants don't really have anything to play for. I can't imagine he's going to rush back. So Casey Schmidt can be a real interesting one for next year. I assume he's going to have multiple eligibility. That didn't look specifically what he's going to have next season, but I tend to think this is probably a career year for Casey Schmidt, but it'll be interesting to have that conversation in the off season. Kyle Harrison. He will have third base and outfield eligibility. That's it really. Yes. Interesting. Kyle Harrison will make a minor league rehab start on Thursday with an aim of throwing 75 pitches in his first game since going on the aisle with a forearm injury. That makes me think he could be back after one start potentially. So that's something keeping. I miss to you said Kyle Harrison. Kyle Harrison. Okay. Yeah. He didn't miss that much time. So I could see that. Vinnie Pasco, Antino, exited Tuesday's game with right hand soreness. That is the hand he had surgery on back in June. So that's something to watch. As Merleyn Valdez was back in the lineup Tuesday after leaving Monday following a hit by pitch on his wrist. He went one for six with a double and a couple of strikeouts still has a 31% strikeout rate. Glad he's not going to miss a bunch of time because that would have been annoying coming in the middle of this huge breakout. Just I want more data about who has Merleyn Valdez is. So I'm glad you're right. It's all about you. Obviously. That's why it would have been annoying. Exactly. Chris Needs more data. Tyler Glass now will face hitters on Wednesday in a live batting practice. He got up to 25 pitches in a previous session. And I feel like he could be clear to go out on rehab Simon after that and probably going to need three or four starts after that. So we're still looking at mid to late August for Tyler Glass now, but he's on the way back. Also on the way back is Will Smith. He's finally back to doing baseball activities after overcoming a neck injury. Doesn't have a specific timetable. He will be out until at least some point in August. I wrote April, but it's August after he was moved to the 60 day I.O. Kyle Schwarber was out of the line up with a gastrointestinal issue. The team only hopes yesterday or two. Jake Bowers has a fractured right big toe that he has been playing through. That's the Schwarber gastrointestinal issue. Aren't we just talking about Zach Wheeler having a gastrointestinal issue yesterday? They beat teammates. You know, I can't imagine the Phillies are a big salad locker room, but maybe there's something there. No, he had a gastrointestinal issue that caused him to miss three days earlier in the season. So who? Kyle Schwarber. Oh, and now he has another. Now he has another. So, okay. It's no fun. Jake Bowers has a fractured right big toe that he will. He has been playing through and will continue to try to play through more of a pain management thing at this point, but he was out of line up on Tuesday due to the injury. And keep an eye on age. That's the injury news today. Huh? Like that is relatively good news. Jake Bowers with a broken toe, but it's not good news. Right. Yeah. He's done fine recently. So if he's been playing through it and hopefully he can continue to, but I do worry just because they're so crowded everywhere, really, but especially, you know, do they decide to stop playing him in the outfield as much? I know they've been sticking him out there. First base is incredibly crowded there. And I don't know. I feel like the brewers. I would love to see like I would actually love the Marlins to go trade for Andrew Vaughn if he's available. That's really, let's just make it all about me today. Yeah. That would be a, that would be a trade I would like to see them try to do. He's got nowhere to play there. Some fan wish casting here for Chris. Oh, I mean, when I saw that Yvonne Herrera might be on the market. Oh, give me Yvonne Herrera too. Didn't you, I mean, isn't Liam Hicks mostly playing first? Yeah. Yeah, he's mostly playing first. First and the actually Stowers is mostly playing first. Yeah, I think Hicks is primarily when he's in the field at first base, otherwise it's D H. Yeah. Okay. So he's he's fallen off the, his expected woe was actually worse than it was last year, which I thought was kind of interesting. I would love to have Yvonne Herrera. But enough about the Marlins. They have one, two in a row. Let's talk about the braves. Yeah. Aegis Meshavra. This one's kind of interesting. Aegis Meshavra looks like he's going to start the first game of Wednesday's double header against the Metz. He has a, he's only 23 years old. Isn't that wild? For a guy who debuted in 2003. Yeah. And has already gone through the Tommy John surgery, uh, Carousel. And he's only 23 and he has made five, uh, start on his re-ebasement, three of them at Triple A, I believe. And he was averaging 97.1 miles per hour this fast. Well, that's up about a mile and a half from the last time we saw him. He has a 377 career, he already has 74 innings. I'm pretty interested in definitely watching Aegis Meshavra on Wednesday. And if he looks good, this could be a pretty quick at him everywhere kind of situation. Well, I'm glad you're saying it before I am. So it doesn't sound like I'm, uh, fanboying here. But, but yeah, on that rehab assignment, in addition to averaging 97 on his fastball, Aegis Meshavra, five starts, had a 153 ERA, a 119 whip, 10.7 K. per nine. And I'll remind you, like it, it's, it's easy to forget if you just go back and look what he was doing when last healthy in, in, in 2025, because he had a, it was nine starts for the big club. He had a 386 ERA and a 142 whip. And you're like, yeah, that's not, there's not much there, right? Those numbers got to where they were, in part, because his elbow was breaking down. Like his last two starts were awful. And then he ended up needing Tommy John surgery right after that. Prior to that in 2025, um, oh, he's got a triple A stint in there that's going to kind of mess up the data. But hang on, just a second. Prior to that, Aegis Meshavra and five in, in seven majorly starts in 2025, had a 233 ERA. And more than a strike up running, it's like 9.3. He looked like he was showing signs of a breakout of 347 FIP during that stretch. I don't know that he's has like ace potential or anything, but he might quickly become the second best pitcher on the bridge. I mean, we also talk about three seven, three 57, 50 said, like, yeah, during those first seven starts. Let's say that's a reasonably optimistic outcome, but not a best case in here. Well, now he's throwing a mile and a half hour, per hour harder. Yeah. And there could be another step up there. So that I think it's really interesting. It might be nothing, um, especially, you know, we've seen a lot of guys come back from Tommy John surgery and really struck. And he's about 14 months removed. So still pretty early on, you know, it's not like a 18 month situation, but it's a name to keep a close eye on on Wednesday for sure. Moving on, Spencer Horowitz was hit in the head over the weekend and has been diagnosed with a concussion. So that'll further delay his hope for return from the IL. There's some beta suffered a setback with his left foot in a scooter accident. Hmm. He is set for additional testing in the coming days, but it does not seem like he will be back anytime soon. That's one of those situations where when you get hurt while you're already hurt doing something like scootering makes makes me think maybe the team doesn't want you back after something like that. Brennan Donovan was moved to AAA to continue his rehab assignment. He's been awful on his rehab assignment, so they're going to give him a little more time to get up to speed. Hayden was Neski will make his return from Tommy John's surgery Wednesday against the angels. He's with the Astros now tonight. Nice soft landing spot for a guy who has showed a bit of promise earlier in his career. He did have a 9.4 Kper 9 1.8 walks per 9 and 225 ERA in five rehab starts. So something keeping eye on there. Have your bias was activated from the 60 day IL on Tuesday. He had been out since April with a high ankle sprain. He had three hits while batting eighth and starting in center field. Trevor McDonald will have Tommy John's surgery next week putting him in doubt for 2027 in addition to being out for the rest of the season. Yankees pitching prospect Carlos Lagarra and Hay was has been cleared to begin throwing as it recovers from a shoulder issue. Still think there's a decent chance we see him down the stretch in the bullpen for the Yankees. The Dodgers activated in Rika Hernandez from the IL he'll return to his utility role. David Festa will have surgery on his shoulder as well as an additional procedure on his peck muscle to quote address the neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome symptoms. Per the team statement. He has not done a competitive pitch in 2026 and I think his futures very much in doubt after this. The twins are looking to buy at the deadline. They got back to 500 just half a game back of the wild card race. So Ryan Jeffers and Joe Ryan may not be going anywhere, although Scott said earlier, they go on five the next five days. Maybe they will be going somewhere. I mean, Jeffers is an impending free agent. Yeah. So that it would be I read specifically them say their GM saying they weren't looking to trade in, but yeah, I don't know. We'll see. I looked at that counts for more than my suspicions, but I retain my positions, my suspicions and my positions. And then Corey C. Gahomert in his rehab debut Tuesday at AA. I know it's been a disastrous season for him, but I still think he can make an impact down the stretch if he ever does somehow manage to stay healthy. I know everyone's skeptical of it rightly so, but still think it can happen. And with that, we're going to take a quick break and then we'll be back to talk more about what happened on Tuesday, including the brand new very exciting legit oh meter. We're back right after this. And we're back and we're going to talk about which pictures are legit and which ones aren't these are guys who have been very, very good recently. And just kind of want to know if you think they're legit. We've got oh, it's like eight names. It's going to be a whole thing. You ready? I'm ready. Just to calibrate zero, not legit. 10, very legit. Very legit. So I hope we can all do legit. You might need to possibly do legit. Yeah. We're going to start with Garrett Cole. We look, the guy's going to the Hall of Fame, right? It's kind of a silly question, but he had another good start on to yeah, Garrett Cole's going to the Hall of Fame. Oh, God. The different, different discussion for a different day. Yeah, he's probably going in the Hall of Fame. I don't know. I didn't think it was controversial. I haven't. Look, it's like 50 career war, right? It's like they're going to have to start adjusting. Yeah, for starting pictures. It's not going to get in. He's closing it on 45 or and it's always like it's always going to be done because we're going to look back. It's like Kevin Brown's not in the Hall of Fame. Yeah, but or like David Cone and it's like, but yeah, but like we made we messed up with those guys and they should be in the Hall of Fame. Let's not hold that again because if the standard is Randy Johnson, nobody's ever getting the Hall of Fame again. You know, so the standard might be that. If the standard is the Randy Johnson, no, but he's ever getting in. If the standards max Scherzer, there might not be another picture. That might not be another measure. I think I think this sabathe align is fair. And you know, he got in. I think we all thought he's a Zach Rinkie's getting in. So that's probably a lower standard than Scherzer as well. There you go. Cole isn't quite to that level yet. You true Hall of Fame or Garrett Cole. All right. Fair enough. He's got 39 strikeouts to four walks in 30 and a third innings and five starts in the month of July. 14 whiffs on 99 pitches. He had I think 11 strikeouts in his previous start. Garakoles just back. It's just Garakole again. Yeah, I'm not going to put it a full 10 because it is just three starts suggesting he's back. But nine. Yeah. When you have Garak Cole's career, it doesn't take a lot, right? Sure. Now, when you have Logan Henderson's career, how much does it take? Whenever he's on the mound as he was on Tuesday, five and two thirds innings, zero runs, two hits, two walks, seven strikeouts. He's got a 266 ERA, the peripherals completely back it up. He has a 32% strikeout rate. 27% strikeout, what minus walk rate would be the second best mark in baseball. It was 25% last season, which I think would have been the second best mark in baseball as well. Is he just an ace? Is Logan Henderson just a right handed pitcher who averages like 91 or 92 on his fastball, who is also an ace? Is that just the case here? I mean, you're setting the bar so high, ace. What is an ace even? I do think an ace has to go six plus innings more than 9% at the time, which is how often Henderson's done it so far in his career. 12 of his 14 starts have fallen short of six innings, including eight of nine this year. So that that has me stopping short of calling him an ace, but I do think he's good. I think he's very good. Hopefully he starts to go deeper into games and we can reassess the ace of it. Of his 14 career starts, 13 have been what I would call successful. So that is a very good ratio and split between two seasons. So it's not like just this fake out hot. Yeah, I think everybody who has Henderson should be thrilled to have him and start him most of the time, if not all the time. You got to give us an answer on the legitimate or sky. Oh, I'll go nice and we're here. Oh, no, like if you're saying if the legitimate is is he an ace, then that's a different question, but it is his current level of success legit. Yes, I'll go nine. All right, let's we'll go down. Maybe while yeah, we'll go down two tiers and talk about Taj Bradley, who had another good start, 10 strikeouts over six innings, two earned runs against the royals, 15 whiffs seven on the cutter, three on the splitter. It was almost exactly his typical pitch mix and he did get hit hard, 94.5 mile per hour average, I was lost. He that is kind of the whole thing with Taj Bradley, but when he's missing bats, it doesn't matter. He's he's kind of like a poor man's Gavin Williams. I don't think he's quite as good, but no, gets it gets head even harder strikeouts, not quite as high walks definitely higher. And he is a fly ball pitcher too, Taj Bradley. So combined with the the high exit velocity very susceptible to the long ball. Yeah, his so that is another difference between him and Gavin Williams, Taj Bradley's fly ball rate is what Gavin Williams ground ball rate is basically. So that's definitely more vulnerable than Williams, but it's he's have so many of these starts. How many double digits strikeout efforts is that for Taj Bradley this year? It's got to be like four. Got to be at least one. Probably more that he's probably had more this year than Paul Schienz has had in his career because that's a number I like to say it all the time. This was the fourth of Taj Bradley's career. Three of them have come in July sorry had the fourth of the season three of them have come in July. So Paul Schienz has had three this oh Paul Schienz has had four double digits strikeout efforts this season. Your favorite stat is ruined. It's rude and he's not even having a very good season. Anyway, Taj Bradley, I'm going to put him is six on the legitimate meter. I lean yes that he is legit, but it is still just a lean. I wouldn't be shocked if it all imploded, but it's it's getting harder to doubt with every start he has like this. All right, let's put Peter Lambert up into the legit oh meter. He had another good start. It was only five innings for him against the angels two on run six strikeouts 12 whiffs on 90 pitches. He used everything through at least six pitches through six pitches at least seven percent of the time. Brought his sweeper back with a different shape and a few more miles per hour at the end of June. I think it was his last June start when he brought the sweeper back and that was not a good start, but even with that one it included. He has a 250 ERA with 34 strikeouts in 32 and a third innings over I believe it six starts now. So averaging less than six starts per inning. 11 walks in 32 innings. He's 84 percent roster so can't really be a waiver wire guy, but how legit do you think Peter Lambert's success is here? Where do I want to go with this? Would you drop him? Is he at least two legit to quit? Well, yeah, right now. Can't quit him. Breaking out the dance moves there. Yeah, pretty good. It was this, right? That's what he did. I don't know. I mean, I was were you even aware? Were you even a conscious person? I mean, to legit to quit was the thing. I was already an amateur. MC Hammer has always been around. You know, he in my world, MC Hammer has been like oxygen. He's always been there. You know, I can't remember a world without MC Hammer. I can. Is the thing. That's why I can't. It was it was quite the event. MC Hammer. Okay. Four. I bet I've lean against Lambert being legit. Obviously can't quit him right now. Obviously, you ride this out. And there are some good signs, which is why it's a four. not like a two. But I think there's one coming up that's below a two. Even during this good stretch, it's like a 10% swinging strike rate. The walk rate is still not great. I think he's had good home run luck because he doesn't get quite as hard as Todd Bradley or even Gavin Williams, but it's not on the soft contact either and a lot of it's in the air. I think there's going to be some home run correction for sure, probably a little bit of strike out correction to at least compared to this recent stretch. And so I'm going to say for for Lambert, I don't know that the will ever come a point where he needs to be dropped, but I don't think he's going to seem as reliable by the time the season ends. Yeah, I was trying to order these in how legit they were and I messed up because I think Griffin Jacks is more legit than Peter Lambert. And he's up next. He struck out 10. That is his second double digit strikeout start in the past month. He got up to 93 pitches. That is five more than any other start this season. Five and two thirds innings, one on run, five hits, three walks. Whoops, a little high there. But three starts since the all start break, 85, 83 and 93 pitches now. Maybe one bad start over the past month. I'm trying to think who would I think I would rather have Ian Seymour than Griffin Jacks. I just think there's a little more length there. They've shown that they trust Ian Seymour to pitch deep into games more than they have Griffin Jacks. I think in terms of skills, it's really close. And I think they'd be more likely to pull the plug on Seymour after a bad outing than Jacks. So that is a tough call between the two of them. I think Jacks is pretty legit. In fact, I think he's even better than he's shown so far. Because the strikeout rate's been pretty blah. He did get 10 here in five and two thirds innings. So help raising it up. I think it has more room to improve because the whiff rate is so good for Jacks. If he's starting to pitch beyond five innings to start an aerobion five, there's a lot to like here. The ground ball rate has gone down. It used to be very high. For most of his career, it's been high. So that's the one to merit. But I think he maybe deserves even better than he's gotten still. But he's gotten is pretty good. So I will go seven on the legitimate meter for Griffin Jacks. I'll go seven point five, actually. Oh, almost an eight, but not almost in it. Not quite. I appreciate it. Maybe I should have made it out of 20. And we could have a little even finer comb on this. I like the point five. I like the I like I like going with the half stars. You should go pitch fork style and start granting arbitrary arbitrary decimals. Like a seven point two. You don't know what pitch fork is. Do you? No. It's a very pretentious music website. And that's their thing. This album is an 8.4. Yeah, nothing. That's nothing. I mean, that's how David Bordnoi rates pizzas, right? I guess yeah. Yeah. All right. Here's a pitcher speaking of Boston. Here's a pitcher. I'm not sure what to make up. That is Jake Bennett. I think he's pretty good. And he was good again here. It was a quality start six innings, six and a third innings, three on runs. I think he had one or run through six innings and then they left him out for the seventh. He gave up a walk in a couple of hits and two runs. Eleven whiffs on 88 pitches. He only struck out four and six and a third. That has generally been the thing with Jake Bennett is he has not been missing many bats at the major league level. It's 6.3 K per nine 46 strikeouts at 65 and two thirds innings. However, it is a 274 ERA 329 fit. Maybe there's a little good luck, but it still suggests he's pretty good. The XERA is limiting damage on contact. I think Jake Bennett's competent. I can't quote like it does feel like the feel set as it currently stands is more like a high 3ZRA than a high two's. You know, it feels like a cardinals pitcher. That's yeah, that's fair. Yeah. And so I think, look, the last two starts have been kind of iffy. I mean, it was a quality start, but you know, it raised his ERA. And I think so I think we're starting to see some correction for Jake Bennett who was a bigger strikeout guy in the minors. And so I'm not totally ruling out him becoming that, but it's been it's been a low strikeout rate in the majors. It's been very Andre Palante like. And I think I think Palante is plenty useful in fantasy, but he's not anybody's number six even, you know, and I don't think you should think of Jake Bennett that way either. Yeah, he is. Oh, I didn't write his roster rate down, but I don't think he's quite like universally. He's 91% roster. I feel like he's been oversold a little. Yeah, I think so. Yeah. So on the Legido meter, I will go. I'll just I'll go I'll split the difference between Bradley and Lambert and go five. Okay. And then for every, for every scale, you need a high end and a low end. We've already established Garrett Cole is a nine. I I personally think Brandon Fawts a one. If we're not going lower than that, he had another great start on Tuesday, seven innings, six hits, no earned runs, one walk, four strikeouts. He has been throwing his change up more lately. And it's really the only significant pitch mix change since he came back from the miners. And it's not like that's been a great pitch for him in his career that we're like, ah, finally, he's throwing his change up more. He has 180, 80, 80, or angel lie. Brandon Fawts. He has 16 strikeouts and 28 and 2/3 innings. I really don't think there's anything here at all. Maybe I'm being too harsh. Well, I tried to find something and I found a couple things. I mean, you mentioned the change abuse increasing, but more than that, ground ball rate has exploded since his return from the minor 52%. He has been an extreme ground ball pitcher and you can get away with not missing many bats if you do that. It's still not the ideal scenario, but you can make it work. So 52% ground ball rate, also the quality of contact has been much better. 88% average X velocity during that time. So if he's a weak ground ball guy, if he's Michael McGreeving now, then maybe there's some use here for Brandon Fawts. I think it's a big leap to say that kind of transformation, that, that, you know, complete, complete sort of transformation can happen that quickly or that you can bank on it after that kind of sample. I'll go above one just to, you know, just to have a little variety here. I'll go to for Brandon Fawts on the legit ameter. I'm not buying it, but if you squint, you can maybe make a case for it. All right. Let's move on to pitchers who are decidedly not legit. A segment I like to call, why are these guys so inconsistent? And the first one is Michael King, who gave up four earned runs to the Rockies in Petco Park. You know, 196 year A in July entering this star, but it was just 20 strikeouts and to 10 walks and 23 innings. You had a 445 year A in June. Where have the strikeouts gone for Michael King? That's my biggest thing. 44 strikeouts and 57 and third innings since June 1st. This was a guy, you know, never an elite strikeout pitcher, but Michael King was a, a strikeout per inning guy when he was good in 2024. And a lot more than I actually, 200 one strikeouts and 173 innings. He has not been anywhere close to that kind of strikeout pitcher this season. What do you see there? I mean, I have the same concern. You have a 7.8 Kpernine rate and a 3.6 walk per nine rate. I don't think it's very good. I mean, his XERA entering this start was 461. Right. The the ERA estimators all back it up like that, that should not, that that does not translate to a very good pitcher. Those numbers. The FIP is a little better at 404 still not suggesting he's a good pitcher. And you know, he's, I think he's had some home run luck. Uh, to well, he gives up Wii contacts. So maybe it's not total luck, but still it's, it's, he had a much worse home run rate last year. Let's just say, um, I don't know. I, I, I think Michael King is a good sell high candidate. I think the positive. Are gonna try to do that? And maybe a change of scenery will help him recapture the bat missing that he showed previously, but right now he feels very, feels like a precarious situation in fantasy. Scott, what's up with your guy Landon Roup? Why can't he just be normal? Oh, I can't even be normal. He is, he was bad on Tuesday. Two on runs and three and two thirds innings, three walks, one strikeout. That is the second time in his last three starts and third time in his last five, with more walks than strikeouts. And it's just, he is so talented. Three and five with more walks than strikeouts, really? Yep, six walks to four strikeouts on June 30th, three walks to two strikeouts on July 17th. That was a good start. He had seven or seven shutout innings. And then three to one in this one. I guess two things can be true at once. Yeah, okay. So obviously the three walks versus two strikeouts on July 17th was seven shutout innings two hits allowed. So I was counting it among the good starts, but the numbers I was gonna offer for Landon Roup here. His previous three starts were great, and five of his last seven have been great. But then the two of the seven that were not great were very, very bad. And it seems like what happens when things go bad for Roup is his control just abandoned them. And maybe the way his curveball is, that's always going to be part of the equation. He kind of gives frame of all dance vibes. Yeah, maybe so. I don't think you want to, I don't think you want to rid yourself of Roup. I still think he is a net positive, but there are going to be these times. It certainly seems like the based on the way the season is gone, where you kind of regret starting him. Again, I think at the end it's going to be more positive than negative, but it's going to hurt at times. All right, we also have Bubba Chandler on here. I don't know. Like this was a weird start because it was 81 mile per hour average, ex of velocity. I think there was just some bad luck here, but he also just still isn't missing many bats. I know his previous start was better, but I. I don't want to get give up on Bubba Chandler. I think he's talented, but this is the kind of start it doesn't even seem worth commenting on anymore because it's so common place. So it's only because his previous start was good. Yeah, wasn't that good was it? Yeah, I thought it was like one or two round over six innings, but maybe not. So we'll move on. He needs to show us a lot more. Is the thing with red embers just hope he gets traded just because he was pretty good in this one. Two on runs and five innings, nine strikeouts. It's awesome. 17 whiffs. Two good starts in row. He had allowed 17 runs and 20 and two thirds innings in his previous four starts. Before that, I think he had three good starts in a row. It's a 409 ERA for the season. The peripherals are much better. 109 whip is great. 142 strikeouts and 123 and a third innings is great. Is it just let's get him on a functional team with a good defense at the trade deadline or do you think there's something inherent to redembers or or both. Or canalos dose. Boy, this is a fun with sample sizes. No, I think you got this number wrong. Okay, did you bring those four starts for redembers. It looks like he allowed a combined 11 or runs, not 17. It's his last three have been good. And then before that, it was 17 runs in the four starts. Okay, all right. Well, here's the number I've got for redembers. Okay. I'm going to paint it in a different light. Sure. Because we have talked about, oh, man, he's so frustrating. Oh, last 12 starts. 321 ERA 0.94 with 10.8 Kper 9. Is that going back to the 14 start strikeout start? Yes. Okay. That's where it began. And the following start wasn't that good. So it's including his best start. And then to include that best start, you get an extra bad start in there. So I think it's, I think it's totally fair. But yeah, last 12 starts, 321 ERA 0.94 with 10.8 Kper 9. 4 hiccups among the 12 starts, usually control related. So I don't know that we need to ring our hands so much over redembers, honestly. We get obvious because it's a daily podcast, we analyze him every start. Sure. And so the four ugly starts in there. It's like, I don't know. But like the totality of it has been really good, actually. Could he him getting traded help? He's been a guy who has consistently underperformed his ERA estimators. And it's not like the angels have any kind of reputation for developing pictures. So I think it could. I think redemers might be the strongest change of scenery candidate among all the starting pictures being floated out there. But even if he's not traded, I think he's, he's probably somebody you should be happy to have on your team. All right. The regression monster comes for us all and it came from Michael McGreevy on Tuesday. He was tagged for seven earned runs in one and two thirds innings. And I know I've been a little more on an island on this one, but this was always coming. At least if you ask me, he has given up 11 earned runs in eight innings over his past two starts raising his ERA from two 92 to 357. And he still has a 548 X ERA entering this start. I, I would be fine dropping Michael McGreevy basically anywhere. Yeah, it's fine to do that. But I, at the same time, I think he is somebody who's going to continue to show up on the streamer list often. Sure. And I think he's better in points leagues than, than Roto because he, when he's right, he does pitch deep in the game. He's got a good defense behind him. He's a quality star machine. Seven of his nine previous starts were quality starts as a pretty good ground ball rate, really good control, not a bad miss or at all. Kind of fits that mold of a cardinals pitcher, like we were talking about. And so, you know, a best easier eighth or nine pitcher, eighth or ninth starting pitcher in a 12 team league, which means on the fringes of roster ability. You're probably sitting him as often as you're starting him. If you want to use this bad start as an opportunity to do something else with that roster spots probably fine. But I doubt it's the last time McGreevy's going to be rostered in a 12 team league. I agree with that. Let's talk about some waiver wire hitters. We've talked so much about pitchers today as we often do. But there are some interesting hitters around. And, you know, I don't think we said the name at heart of Valencia before this and why would we have I think this was his fixed major league game or seventh major league game. But he had two homers on Tuesday. He had four hits against the Orioles. That is his third game with multiple hits and his third homer in seven games in the majors. He drove in five runs in this one. I believe he was catching while Dylan Dingler was at the age. Valencia is technically a catcher. But for CBS purposes, he is the only needs two more appearances a catcher. I think he's kind of interesting. He is he's played 130 games, I believe, between the last two seasons at double at AAA. He is 30 homers. It's 17 homers in 81 games. He makes a decent amount of contact. It's not like huge power, but it's not. It's not like the exit velocities are so bad that you think it's total fluke. The peak exit velocity is a really good. At AAA this year, 112.7 last year 112.1 and that's he can he can whack it for sure. So I think Eduardo Rodriguez between or sorry Eduardo Valencia. Eduardo Rodriguez is somebody else Eduardo Valencia is not somebody you should ignore entirely. Now obviously he is a catcher on a team with one of the best catchers in baseball. So they'll have to get it'll have to be an unconventional situation. Like, you know, one of them playing DH. Regularly for Valencia to play enough to matter in fantasy, but I do find these interesting. Yes. Yeah, and I think Carrie Carpenter being on the DI I probably helps. Free up freeze up a little more DH time, but yeah, I think Valencia in deeper two catcher leagues. They named to know he was just recalled the DFA Jake Rogers. Let's move on Tommy White third baseman for the athletics, racking up singles three more on Tuesday. It's just nothing else, but singles really Tommy. - Thanks, Tommy Tanks. - Yeah, Tommy Tanks. - He hasn't been Tommy Tanks in like four years, really. - Oh no, what do we call him, oh Tommy Knox. - Yeah, Tommy Knockers. - He's 17% rostered, the context stills are good. I think he's like striking out 10% of the time, but there's just been no power to speak of. And that's what we want in Sacramento is power. So I can't really say I'm too excited about Tommy White despite hitting like 340. - Mm-hmm. - Yeah, I'm not either. And that's all that needs to be said I think. All right. Pedro Mirras is one that I just, he went three for five with a run and RBI and a steal. He's in 322 in the majors with a strikeout rate, around 15%. No homers, five steals. He's only 8% rostered. I think Pedro Mirras is worth adding and stashing just to see what happens at the deadline. I know you said yesterday you're not 100% sure the Cubs are gonna trade him. - Oh well no, but I think I agree. It's, he's a really good trade ship right now. I was kind of laying out a kind of an alternate theory of the Cubs. - Yeah, not the most realistic one by any means, but you know, they're blocked. What I was saying was Pedro Mirras and Matt Shaw and who's the guy they just called up. James Triantos. - James Triantos, they're blocked in theory by long term deals to Alex Breggman, Danc B. Swanson and Nico Horner. And would that be something the Cubs would like a redo on? And could that potentially affect their trade thoughts? - But probably not. It'd be a lot easier to trade Pedro Mirras than it would be Danc B. Swanson for instance. And so that is definitely one of the situations I'm watching most closely at the trade deadline. They may be finding a way just to get Ramirez in the line of anyway. He appeared in the outfield in this game. He's been getting some playing time at D.H. recently. I think he's good. I think, I mean, especially you look at what he was doing in the AAA prior to the call up. Zone contact rate was 94.4%. The max ex of velocity was almost 111. So a lot of contact and a lot of thumb there that we haven't seen reflected in the small amount of time in the majors yet. Also, he was a prolific base dealer in the miners. You mentioned he stole a base in this game. I'm very interested in Pedro Ramirez and I hope one way or another playing time opens up for him. I agree. Let's move on to some pitcher leftovers. And I just, we have to address it because I've seen every single day in the comments. I see people talking about chase burns. And oh, he's definitely going to get shut down. And he pitched five innings today, one in run, four strikeouts. Vlas, he was down a little bit across his two most used pitches. I just wanted to bring this up. He is now officially at his career high innings, 112.2. He threw 111 last year if you include the postseason. He probably has 10 starts left. I don't expect chase burns to just get shut down. Do you? I think he is-- I don't-- you don't often see that these days. You don't often see the Steven Strasberg. OK, you've reached the end of your season. Don't pitch again. It's more-- OK, we're going to space out your starts. We're going to give you some shorter starts. Because the reds don't appear to be in the playoff picture at all, there's more of a justification to shut them down. But then they got to find somebody else to fill those in. And it's just-- it's a whole thing. So I do think chase burns is a prime-- slow-handed it to have his innings curtailed. I wrote a column. I think it was just last week, 20 pitchers at risk of innings limits. And burns is high risk among those 20. But-- I think I don't think it's going to be a hard shutdown, just because it rarely is these days. But he's a really nice innings. 40 more innings, probably closer to 50. And so if it's like nine or 10 starts at five innings per start, 50-- Yeah, he would put him about 65 over how many through last year, right? No, he's right at last year. If I-- maybe-- What is he at now? What is he at now? Because I had him even a week ago. I had him already at his-- He's at 1/12.2 right now. Last season was 11. OK. OK, yeah, you're right. You're right. I was looking at it backwards. Yeah, he threw-- Yeah, he threw in in in two-thirds in the postseason. So that bumps him up to 1/111. OK, I think there will be limitation. But I think we've already seen some limitations. Like there have been a lot of five innings starts for chase burns. Yeah. So I just think-- I've seen a lot of like, oh, they're just going to shut him down. I just don't think-- like maybe we get to the last week of the season and they just skip his last start. I could see that. That doesn't really change his value rest of season. I don't-- I guess I'm a little more concerned than you. I agree with the basic idea that it's probably not going to be a hard shut down. But I don't know that they need him to go 50 innings beyond what he did last year. They're not competing for anything. I mean, obviously he's their top asset, except for maybe a Ellie Day La Cruz. And so I think probably-- probably he has like eight starts left, I would guess. And averaging about five innings maybe slightly over in those eight starts. And how they distribute those eight starts is hard to say. All right, Sandial Contra, he had a great start. No earn runs over seven innings, four hits, five strikeouts, one walk, strikeouts have been pretty mediocre all season. But he has a 299 ERA and a 109 whip while averaging 6.8 innings per start since June 1. It's 11 starts where he's averaging 6.8 innings per start with a 299 ERA. He was really bad in May. He has a 350 ERA or better every other month. Sandial's been pretty good this season. Not so young good, but still pretty good. Very good points lead guy. So-- And then we mentioned it earlier, Justin Roblesky. A little bit of a rough one here, right? When we were starting to trust him, five innings, five earned runs over six innings to give up four homers. Still strikeout seven, zero walks, fourth straight start with seven or more strikeouts. I think he's earned some benefit of the doubt here. Yeah. So I will note that this was the second straight start where Roblesky's velocity was kind of back to normal. He had a seven start stretch where it was up. And that caused him to buy in. His strikeouts went up. His ground balls went up too, as the velocity went up, which was interesting. It was a 47% ground ball rate during those seven starts. I don't know what it's been in these last two starts, but he allowed four home runs. So you're probably not given up many ground balls. He gave up at least four fly balls. Yes. So it makes me a little wary of the direction Roblesky is headed here. And by the way, and that same article where I called Burns High Risk, I called Roblesky medium risk. He's not at his career high in innings yet, but he is going to be within a couple turns. And the Dodgers being the Dodgers, if they want him to be a big part of their postseason plans, then they have plenty of ways that they can limit Roblesky's workload from here forward. So don't get too comfortable with him in a couple of different respects, I would say. All right. And then we've got-- let's do some quick hitting left overs. Kevin McGonigal, far for four with a walk and a run score. He's got an 800 OPS. 800 OPS were better in all but one month this season. One-to-one strikeout to walk ratio over the course of the season on pace for 15 homers, 18 steals. It's kind of a weird profile. But how early do you think you're taking Kevin McGonigal next season? Is he a top-- definitely top 50 pick, right? I think it's a wide gap points in Roto. Yes, sure. Much better in points, obviously. I think he's going to be top 15 in Roto though. I think people are going to push him there, giving how young he is, how solid the first season is. You just have to project a little growth with the power. Just a little to make him worth that. I mean, how many home runs is he going to finish with this year? I think he's at nine right now. So he's on pace for 15-ish. And then steals-- I mean, he's not going to be 20 in either. And he'd have to pick up the pace for sure, yeah. I don't know. It feels very early career Matt Carpenter, which I guess is going back a long ways by now. It feels kind of Martín Prado like. There's more upside than Prado, but that's what it looks like right now. And so I don't know. I think it's a stretch to think you'd go that. Or I would think more round eight or so. But it'll be-- Top 50 in points. Top 50 in points. Top 60, let's say. just couldn't agree. I couldn't. All right. And then for Nandita T's, I think his numbers are basically going to get to where they should be by the end of the season at this pace. His OPS is up to a 750 after he went five for five with two RBI, three bad at balls over 104 miles per hour. And this one, I think he had another one over 95. He had been a little colder in the last like week or so, but overall to 850 OPS right around since that first home or in late May. I think you just messed up a swing early in the season. But once he found it, he's been awesome. And I think we're talking about Fernando Tati's probably as a second round pick next season, right? I believe so. All right, let's do the call to the bullpen real quick. And bad timing for Paul C wall to completely fall apart. He was tagged for three runs while getting one out in the night, then he even up to home runs. All of a sudden, his ERA is up to 526. I think the Diamondbacks probably would have liked to traded him at the deadline. And I just want to point out, because I don't really think any other pitchers in this bullpen are very good. But Justin Martinez has been throwing a lot lately. And I think he's going to go on a rehab assignment soon and could be back in mid August. And I think there's a chance Justin Martinez, who was looking like a star this time last year, before he got hurt, could be, well, probably not this time last year has probably got hurt earlier than this. But anyway, he could be the closer down the stretch for the Diamondbacks. Don't need to add him right now, but need to keep an eye on Washington. Clayton Beater got his third save in the past four days. So do the nationals have a closer now? As much as they have all season, I would say, Beater's looking like a strong favorite. Are they going to buy? Are they going to buy closer? I mean, there are still rumors that they might trade CG Abrams. Yeah. I could go either way. Another one of those tween years. Like another one that I think they probably should sell. But I agree. Yeah. But they might decide differently. All right. The athletics, Hogan Harrison, Hogan Harris got the save for Boston, but it was hairy. Give up two runs on three heads and nine before closing it out. He has three saves since the All Star break. But he also had the 330 80 RAs pretty good, but 148 whip. Yeah. And a 409 fit. But I just don't think Hogan Harris is very good. I think, you know, he might be the, you know, the, the, the most athletic of the unathletics, athletics closer options. But yeah, think about that one. But I don't think he's someone I want to chase. No, I mean, if your desperate for saves, he's probably worth adding now, but that's it. And then wanted to point out two other things. One, Kirby, it's got to use in the seventh inning for two outs today. I have no idea what's going on in the Angels Bowl pen. I don't think they have a closer right now. I think it might be Ben Joyce when he gets back. And then multiple people pointed it out. And so I just wanted to highlight it. Jorn Romano leads the Rockies and Angels and saves this season. Yes, eight saves total is four saves for both teams. And that's enough to lead both teams. That is wild. We might not have a 10 save guy on either of those teams this season. And I think he's spent more this year, not on a majorly roster than on one. Oh, yeah, I think it was only with the, the, the Angels for less than a month. And it's been less than a month with the Rockies, right? He's only made like six appearances. Like that shows the futility. All this time we've spent talking about Rockies and Angels closing options that Jordan Romano leads both teams with four is four. What are we, what are we doing? We're wasting our life here. Alright, let's, let's not waste our lives any longer. Let's go to stream or not to stream the most important part of the show. Wednesday, Zach Lattel versus the Blue Jays Grant Holmes versus the Metz Shaman I versus the brave Shane Drowin versus the Giants. Ian Seymour versus the Rangers Dustin May versus the Cubs Jacob Lopez versus the Red Sox Patrick Santaval at the athletics Ajay Smith Shover as we mentioned at the Metz Christian Scott at the Braves and Eric Lauer versus the Mariners. Who do you like there? List is gone. Brond out a little bit. Well, definitely still a couple. I think we got a couple of double headers tomorrow. Ian Seymour and Shane Drowin remain easily the top two choices. But Ian Seymour 66% roster is too low. It's too low. I don't hate Christian Scott and Atlanta. I don't hate Eric Lauer against the Mariners. Ajay Smith Shover could go really well. It's a big gamble. But if you're a gambling man or lady, then, you know, I'll mention it. Ajay Smith Shover. Alright, in the Thursday, significantly fewer options. No, a Cameron at the Twins Bailey Overs versus the Royals Andre Palante versus the Cubs or Mon Marquez versus the Giants and Rocky Sasaki versus the Mariners. It's roll the dice on Sasaki. Could come up snake eyes, but could come up box cars and snake eyes are bad and box cars are good. I sure it will take your word for it. Usually, I don't really know anything about the pencil. Right? I, yeah, I guess. Well, Crapsy just wants sevens, right? I got I played Crap one time. It was like three in the morning in Vegas. Yeah, I don't really remember it. I'm more of a Coton guy. You pretty much never want to see two or 12 in Coton, because nobody puts their settlements there. And then you get a game where it just keeps getting rolled, even though it's a one in 36 chance and somebody happens to have a city there and it just like ruins the whole thing. Anyway, yeah, Rocky Sasaki is the favorite choice Thursday, distant second is Andre Palante just because he's steady, but Cubs are a tough matchup, obviously. And then no camera has been showing some stuff lately. He's been missing a lot more bats lately. Things coming off of the one strikeout start start, right? I think there was a there was another big strikeout, big-ish strikeout start game in there, but you were right about the Chandler start. So maybe you're right about this too. Somebody says you don't want sevens in. Well, they don't specify. You don't want sevens in Coton, so maybe that's what they were talking about. I think in Crap, you don't want them to grab either. I honestly like I have no recollection of it. I just remember, I kept I think I kept betting on the pass line and the dealer was like, don't do that. And I just kept doing it and kept working out. And the dealer was getting really annoyed with you. That's the one thing I remember. Yeah, I think that's why if I ever went to Vegas or any casino situation, I would not want to do anything because I would feel like I was violating some sort of protocol. And I wouldn't want the embarrassment of that. That's why I cut my own hair, frankly, because I don't like to have to, you know, I communicate with the person cutting it what I want. Haircuts in New York are so expensive. It's like 70 bucks. And I haven't, I've needed a haircut for several weeks and I just haven't done it because I just don't want to have to find a barber. Yeah, because I'm sure I could find a cheap one. But like, yeah, I don't, I don't want to have to talk. It's just a whole thing, you know. Yeah, I think I just teach myself to cut it the way I like and then I can't I tried to do a fade once it did not look good. A little too fancy, Chris. Now everybody's going to make fun of my hair. All right, fine with it until I brought it up. Well, you shouldn't have said anything. We were about to finish the show. Scott, you almost got an open book. Open book. Need to close it.
