Hi, good morning to David Gaetley. Welcome to Gators Game Plan Gator. Hello, mate. How are you? I'm very well. I'm sure Tip and the AFL right now are basically at the halfway mark. Yeah, look, I've been back to Frio last year at about 21 bucks. Yeah. They were just half a step off. I thought Bolton and Jackson and we'd sort of go through the roof. They didn't. Now that they're doing that, I've got no reason to jump off them. So I said Frio a while ago, no reason to jump off. Are you a same game, multi-man? Do you like punting on the football? Do you like your futures play, how do you approach the betting in the AFL? Because I know you love it. You're a great student of the game. Yeah, look, I definitely have a play. I certainly back when I think I went to play each year. And so that the futures play no doubt. And most, not most weeks. I'm not as into it. I used to watch most games. It just doesn't have the time anymore, but-- No. But yeah, I'll certainly have-- if there's three or four games I like in a weekend, teams that I like, especially if they're backable, I'll string those up and try and make the money that way. Gator's game player means a-- easy our coach. So we go through the key categories that we think are the key categories anyway, all in a bid to try and help us back a few winners there on the weekend. And then it's up to you, the selectors to ask Gator any question you want regarding this weekend's racing. Or you might have a question about a futures play. So it's completely up to you. But always the first discussion that we have here on Gator's game plan is the first athlete that we're picking in our side this weekend, the best bet. And I think we're heading to send down this weekend, Gator. Yeah, look, I think the Volta's ready to win. She's in race three, number six. I thought she was good first up. She beat a key rival in this race clearly in Miloxfiller. It's ridden a bit warm second up. She didn't have that same gasto to finish with. Her section was home last. I'm pretty similar to I think a future group on horse and concold conny. So she'd get a good run midfield or just off. We know Hillside, generally speaking, although this protected ground in tide, run on this generally get their chance. So made her the best on a card where there's no concold conny this week. And she's back a ball three by six. So race three, number six, the Volts are around four, eight, you're there with bet three, six, five, you get the boost of five, fifty with Gator's best bet across the weekend. So that's good value there. The toughest race for you to work out this weekend is race number seven over the 1600 metres where this is at send down, of course, where you got no bold, the five dollar favorite over Sir Atlas, slide boots, nations call. So it's a difficult race to work out, Gator. Yeah, certainly is. I mean, you got a number of these athletes first or second up. You got slide boots down from a forgive running, did they wish actually went through a run pretty well. I think far flung is ready to improve. And then of course, you've got the token import coming off a nice trial. So that's the puzzle every single week, seemingly. So you need one of them now to make it even harder. Yeah, so that's a great evolution of the game. So Bonnie Faye, so the guy's been pretty sure that I don't know. I didn't know where to go. He had a good team, he's backable. You know, I think he's really nice off. And he won really well second up last time in. I mentioned he's figure run first up. So he's on top, but he can make a good case throughout this. Narbow, nations call far flung and just throw your marbles up in the air with Bonnie Faye. Yeah, we're getting a few of these sources, probably one or two a week now, aren't we? We're a big Gallup, there's having their first start in this country. And most of the time we are getting sucked into it sometimes anyway. So it's a difficult one to try and work out really. Yeah, to be back to real quick. Yeah, they have one in thick wind. Correct. So what's your theory there? Just don't back and go to take him on and watch them. And if they beat you, well, you just say, well, you're too good this week. And we've learned a lot from that experience. That's what I'm doing. Yeah, but that actually overthinking it. I generally want to see him. So I got to tell me the other way. There was an impressive Osaboo winner off a nice trial, but then he was been 25 length in the next start. And then the next three all got beaten up back heavily. So look, as I said, I can still make money if he wins because he's in the quality. Yeah. Dadeye Hors comes up in a really good benchmark 100 there at sand down on Saturday. And it's, well, you can do the honors here with your Dadeye horse gator. Yeah, look, I think it's effectively a, you know, a stakes class race. I listed a class benchmark 100. And I think, you know, I think many of us would agree that it King's efforts time to stand up. He gets to his favorite track. He's on beaten here. He was lame first up and then obvious for Gibran and heavily back to Flaming Turn. He had one better than he know, Big Swinger who's in this race. And Big Swinger just quick and better than him. Simple as that. He was strong home, but 100. But his job was to be in front of the end of the race and he couldn't manage that. So he gets three kilos on that horse. He draws a little better than him on to his favorite track. You know, it's time. Could you back him in a stradbrook? No, no. Now I've got him behind, you know, quite a number of other horses. And the handicap, you know, gives him a life hope. That's the beauty of handicap racing. It brings him up to those better perform horses. 100%. Yeah. If wait didn't matter, we wouldn't factor them in, but they do. Because they affect what pal you can generate as an athlete. So, um, I'm not here. If he wins brilliantly on Saturday, um, all of a sudden he's back on my radar. But they're not going to run the stradbrook and stand down hillside either. No, no. Um, and that's a very good point. Eagle farm, however, is a good, spacious track. Beautiful. Lovely. Yeah. Yeah. So, interesting to say how King's effort goes. Graeme Beeg was confident. And he's always confident with that horse, King's effort. But he reckons he'll go close there on Saturday. The highlight race, and this is a no-brain. It's a seven horse feel, but it's an intriguing battle. It's the doomed and cup. And I've enjoyed. I've had a lot of fun interviewing some of the major plays today for the Forex Dermon Cup. The other Mac and Voice says, "Well, they'll probably go back with half yours," but they haven't made up their decision just yet. Chris Waller's talking it up regarding his rivals to try and chase up Jenny instead of his horses. Um, so he's trying to play some mind games. Um, the team with Kirimano, what pride of Jenny do. Graeme Beeg wouldn't give you a way. He's tactics. He goes, "Why would I give you up my tactics on your show?" You're right. And I said, "That's a good point, Graeme." Um, and Adrian Bock goes, "Well, I don't know. What's going to happen with Vaughan?" It's probably a setup that we don't really want, but he's there to win. So there you go. Yeah, terrific race. You know, I don't think that I can certainly cope well and truly with small fields. I'd rather take a field of seven and, you know, you'd say six of them are good hopes, um, than a field of 24 and, uh, four to end them 101. Anyway. Um, yeah. So, terrific race. So, yeah, so the challenge for pride of Jenny is to simply do it again, you know, on a quicker turn around than what she'd been doing up to 2,000 meters. Now, historically, that's border hunt done, um, and as an eight year old, I have to bet against her on Saturday, but I'll be the first one standing and cheering if she's too good again. Yeah. Equal favourite. Marker can't split them now. Half yours, 380 with bet 365, Bourbon 380 and pride of Jenny, 380. The boost towards half yours. Are you getting 425 for the Melbourne Cup and Corp. Cup champ? She's a hustler at 554. We're about 850, asterisk 13 and then Koverleck is the outsider at 29. I guess the question I pose to you, Gator, when you do your maps and you try and work out, what will happen? How do you see the rivals going about trying to get past pride of Jenny there on the Saturday? Yeah, so some things are just out of your control. Yep, that's the first thing. So, sugar heart, her thing, what you need to do in my very humble is do the best thing for your athlete, not for the race, not for racing in general, to get the best out of your athlete. So, um, if I go for 100 meter run or want to marathon, my theory is the same. I need to exert maximum amount of my ability out of that distance of the race. So, that's what they're trying to achieve, I think. And I think it's the right way to go. To answer your question, I'd be surprised if she's a hustler in Vaubanant. Close up. Yeah, a little more positive. You know, if she gets away with 10 laps at an even speed, it's mathematically challenging, but the advantage for half yours is an obvious one. He's on the third half. You know, and the others have been to the well quite a few times this prep. I could be reading this race completely wrong. I think it's a good setup for pride of the. Jenny because we haven't seen these horses be able to have the ability to go with her in the early part. But in saying that my gut feel this weekend group won 2000 meters and this is just a gut feel. I reckon they'll ride she's a hustler of Vauban closer so they'll try and make sure that they keep pride of Jenny within striking distance. I've got a feeling that might be to their detriment. So I'm thinking it could be, I don't think Burman gets a strong 2000 meters. We saw that at Flemington the other day so I'd be taking him on. I think it could be half your setup at the end of the day. I think pride of Jenny wins all half yours because I think Jamie will have the the breaks that will go her way with the others doing the donkey work for her. That's what my gut feel is trying to read this race. Now I could be wrong but that's what I'm thinking. Yeah what you know about half yours is he's going to be very strong at the end of 2000 meters using Vauban Cup winner and I go by and look at his turn ball run against her deelia. You know an alien or an ex-man so that's the one I'm looking at the safety and win the race. I think the asterisk on pride of Jenny as I say it's an obvious one so she's got to come up and trip on a quicker turn around. Historically that gets her beaten and Burman's a fascinating one because you couldn't have put enough on him in that Australian Cup when he loomed into the race and then didn't finish off. So was it the soft seven track or the 2000 meters that brought him on down and he's 1 at 20 600 so I don't know it's one of the two they all combination of both. Talking to Chris Waller it might be a combination of both but I think he's more leading towards it was a soft seven that day. Yeah I'm thinking the night watchman. No watchman. I'm going to help you know this horse you're your night watchman Gator. Why? No no because I want to hear your pronounce her. Oh yeah so race nine number 17 is the horse so a couple of terrific wins this pair. Rosa or it's a roa I think that's how you pronounce it. Yeah the only point of language is we understand each other so people get it. Rosa, it's a roa I don't know. That's what I've been seeing all long. Yeah go well go well. That form was French during the week for her to choose the car park but they'll be scratching in a shop now and and I think it might be off by race nine while I'm truly so that's what I'm thinking and hoping. I'm a fan you know I think her win last but had a lot of merit so she'll do I think King Tuttle will be in Sydney so he won't he won't be able to beat us. Yeah that is right King Tut he's going to Sydney Gator so you're right on the money there. So let's look at our key categories for Gator's game plan I need your parlay if that's okay. That is okay where are we? We're heading to Simtidee. Race three horse, right four it's put you there again. Race four number five the Budgie Smuggler. Yes. Well like race seven number eleven King of the Sea into race eight number eighteen to be only. on Chicago Storm at sand down race eight yeah look obviously on his air and bay air and bay form yeah you can certainly make a okay he's a really genuine horse do you I think he strikes a pretty hot race though and you know there's a few up in commerce that sort of have a little weight advantage so I've got others ahead but I wouldn't faint Gator your thoughts on King of Rousseau for the Queensland Carnival yeah good horse yeah I'm a huge fan I've been on him his last couple other now he keeps paying eight nine dollars but I'll keep taking it yeah he's a ripper and criminally underrated still so uh it's good race in him could he win at Kingsford Smith Cup uh weight range yeah um that's the next challenge for him uh yeah that's the next challenge so we'll see who's there but he'll be high in my thoughts because he's good horse and he's been good to me and I think that does impact us for more morning lads I thought Recon should clearly be the favorite in the eighth race at sand down after his last couple of runs arguably should have nearly won the good wood we clear our thoughts that's from rocket yeah you can absolutely win yeah the last time he was a 14 under the beat big singer the knee so yeah um you know the win in the hurry was outstanding yeah it was a run on race but gee look right I remember really well in a good wood um it's just gate two so you know if I race eight we'll have a really good idea on the pattern if gate two is no disadvantage yeah he should probably you're right probably be equal favor with things better yeah um high-gather thoughts on Bella Verone and Ray six at sand down thought she was huge last time yes she was good really good um I like to lay the first few beat the rest of them clearly a lot the way she really found the line the last hundred who's only a second curious start wasn't she so um gets to 16 hundred so she's on top um I very nearly put gold tape as on top when I saw $34 yes one didn't she gait her well I sort of chickened out a bit I mean I had my ruffian the previous race and historically um what I found is if you tip too many at a price on one card it she generally it's fine you've probably got it wrong yeah so um look I'm happy I'll still vacuum at 33 line yeah um and Bella Verone and Bella made on coinelo makes the money on the race hopefully yeah um because you do have the theory when we've talked to you about this on a few occasions then you do your form before the markets come out basically um and then you have the advantage of not listening to any others talk about those races with their opinions um but yeah it can it does surprise you it sounds like on a few occasions some of the prices you're on top selections come up at yeah works both ways um but yeah absolutely don't look at a market until I've done the form and then then see effectively what you're doing without mathematically doing it um is framing a market you know you're framing an order of preference and a rough idea of who's going to win and what price they'll be um when I looked at uh so I did the form for a six and I looked up and saw gold tape s three foot dollars had to refresh you here again I thought it was a mistake yeah um I thought Bella Verone would be behind the market and she is um but she just come through a race of bit less depth so you know gold tape as has been is crossed along the glass weeks when a brave dancer in the past so yeah so that that's how I play it and then you know in the other in the other week there was one you know I thought would be 10 to one and came up to $2 80 so it doesn't always work for you know good old boys can I grab gator's thoughts on save of the dream um second up down south of course that's one that's Kevin Lamings horse that goes around there it's sand down just having a look yeah $21 day mean thought and rides and that seventh race there it's sand down on Saturday gator yeah that's how long division race and there's a number you can make a really good pace for I just think the likes of uh suratlas um slibers nabald and and nations call might might have a link for two on those sort of horses but uh you know it's likely to be another busy finish and who gets the right running trends it might be king yes now doing bit on Saturday few people want to ask about a couple of horses there and that man's race and that's blinded by the light and hyperbolic both in an each way price in fact blinded by the lights what just at each way price at each way price there at $5 50 with bet 365 yeah so certainly blinded by the light for me strongly in the mix it's going to depend a little bit on what happens from that barrier then track pattern wise we saw the musing plenty of the track along with wicked doom bid um I think I think a lot of us if you're going to tip her and back her wish she drew a little bit out but you know if she can test all the while she can win the ref lock from the gate hoppabolic look a good chase last time I certainly think When you cross the line with coin words, it's 1600. You can tie that for me with a few here as well. So I've got others ahead of hyperbolic, but again, I wouldn't talk he out of here. - Has Gayle got a best play in each way shop for Sin City? That's from Brian. - Best in Sydney. I've got race seven number 11, his king of the sea. - Yes. - He's in our powerway. It certainly looks ready to win. - Yep. And her ruffian today was race six number six, the Rissama, who was a sneaky gem of a run, crashin'. So this is game two, it's coming up shortly and we're getting a multi-scent through from Molly Land, I see so far, he's going at 50% in the conference finals playoff series. So he got yes today, he's the next getting out of trouble and he just missed out on game one of the Spurs and the Thunder, so he will bounce back today. Look, she boxed it to win well, Kinzo. She beat Fixier too. I think, I'm winning earlier in the day there, but it'll be around that. Also get a line on that form. So she is back to her own age and sex. So you can make a case there. 2,000 meters from 1300 is an obvious challenge. Yeah. Semantics would be your time at type of force because you do study the meaning of meeting, if you know what I mean. Yeah, that's a good name and it's a good word given where my last look is child really well, semantics. Where should every LECB show and Gator's life outside of race? Yeah, do you like Truman, but do you know that? Yeah. Yeah, so look, I'm happy to tip semantics on top of the trial. What I'm noticing in recent times, even happened yesterday, Corpio heat track was, these well-performed two-year-olds with group, you know, group two, groups three form. They're getting beaten by Debbie Ton for the time. Yeah, so, and happened last Saturday again. And so I'm going to tip a Debbie Ton and it'll be semantics. So as I say, likes the trial, they'll just have to overcome an inside draw. Thousand meters shoot should be fine. Yeah, no problems whatsoever. Hey, good morning to the G-man and Gatorade. What are your thoughts on Bella Rona and Ray Sixth's stand down, you're keen on her chances? And Lady Catalina in the first race at Sydney each way all day for that gallop. That's the Mara runner. That's from Liam from Tammweiss. G'day Liam. Yeah, look, I didn't have Lady Catalina at top five, but, and the reason why, so she ran quite well two runs ago on Anzac Day, it was behind Bangkok, Hottie. You'd have to say Keen to Exceed was a much better run and Keen to Exceeds in this race. So, and I met on the same weight turn. So it's difficult, I think, for her to turn the tables, but what we do know is with these younger athletes, they can improve and regress pretty quickly. Morning, Gatorade. Just wondering, Gatorade's thoughts on race three, Dumbin is La Barita running Friday or Saturday. That's from We Get Saturday. La Barita's going around. Four dollars with bet three, six, five. Could Toto is the favorite at three dollars? I am dirty. I'm not dirty. That's the name of the horse. Is it three twenty? Good little race, I think. I think La Barita's day was good. We get some some guy on that form too, from Uncertain Gourmet who runs against the two olds in the first at Rammack. So we get a line on that form. The time was good, sectional time good. I tipped Keen, Toto for what that's worth. Good effort to beat Unhinge's last time, who was the third horse came out one, I bet three links out of that race as well. So I do think she'll be strong at the end of 3050 that girl. Paul Charlie Farley has listed a big local interstate support crew of heavy hitters for Saturday, Dumbin. Several have only appeared on track and group one victories #HalfYours. That's from Steve. Well, Paul Charlie Farley for the people out there that don't know is a 5% shareholder in half yours. Now, it's a terrific story. He's an umpire in the Western districts there of Victoria. Charlie, they call him. He's not a very good umpire, they tell me, but we need umpires in the game anyway. And he is like, he's walking around with a big, and as you would with a bit of swagger these days, being a shareholder of half yours. And it's one of the great stories, Gator. So he's in the camp at down races. I think on a summer afternoon, and he's watching the races, and he spots a horse in the Colour McKenna Colors, by the name of Half Yours by St. Gene. And he goes, "Geez, what's he doing at Campodown?" And he goes, "Well, I might keep following this horse because why would Colour McKenna have a horse like this going to camp it down?" And obviously, it must have a bit of ability. And then he finds out that um, sadly after Col passed away, and they were selling a few of his horses that this horse was online. And Erain Calver McAvoy up, and Calvin didn't know who the hell he was. And when he goes, "Made, I love this horse. I've watched him since I saw him at Campodown. I want to buy a share in him." And Calvin goes, "Yeah, there's 5% available." So he perches, is like 5% of half yours. And now he's the biggest celebrity in the Western part of Victoria. He's doing sportsman's nights now at terrain in those places at Warnable because he's got a share on this horse. So there you go. It gives us all hope, doesn't it at the end of the day? - Yeah, look, it's not the classic anecdote, but it's quite a good story. Uh, also is very good umpire an oxymoron. - No, you know, you're gonna give the umpire some benefit of doubt, Gator, I think sometimes. - Yeah, no, sure. Just call play on sometimes. Just try that one. - Play on. - Yeah, so good luck to you, Charlie. You'll be hoping that half yours can win another group one for him. Hey, Jake, can you ask Adore about the chances of C4-Race 7 at Sandown? That's from Nick. - Yeah, I've tipped against it at the last two, which seems a mistake given she's won. So I can't jump on now, especially up in grade. So I'm gonna hope, I'm gonna tip against her again. - Is Bioni Gator's best in city? What's the confidence? - Um, one of them anyway. - Which all are best in city? - Bioni are the C4. - I'll say Bioni, yeah. - In the par like we're sure. She's, he's certainly with the run of her coming when her last start. I mean, to make that sort of ground in the worst part of the track is a flashing light, I think, for coming when her. At the 1600, it looks okay. First time trip though. Wet snow issue, the barrier, you know, we'll see how the tracks float. Look, it's not a, it's not a lay down mosaic 'cause there's a few little factors we don't know. Like the 1600, the barrier, the track pattern, the topic. - Can you ask Adore when he's doing his walk and talk for the five all team? - Yeah. - Yeah, I hate there's another five all four so I see money somewhere. I didn't notice that. But yeah, no, that's a great question. Well, I have to get around to that. - Hi, Gareth and Gator. Being a Tiger fan and a very fit person himself, are you happy with the high performance trainer at the club almost every play drafted in the last four years has broken, been broken down, keep up the good work, Gareth and Gator. - Yeah, look, I'm not a high performance. You know, I'm not training that fits. I don't know the answer, but I mean, the reality is, I just look at Occam's Rader. So it can't all be bad luck, and it's something I think it needs to change in what's happening there. But they did an internal review out here, and they said it's fine. - Says it all basically. - Yeah, I did an internal review of "Ozoracing Formation." - Well, we're fine. - Yes, where does Gator have Saint Lawrence in his ranking? Because obviously Gavin Bedschke, he was so bullish about his chances. See, he's a great chance at 34 to one on Saint and Gator. Your thoughts, Saint, that's from Craig. Good question, Craig. - That's a good question. I think he's over the odds for what he's achieved. - Yeah. - Well, up to the class that he's racing in. I think the challenge for him is a few of these are still on the upward trajectory. He's probably reached his mark. So that's what I'm thinking. But if he won the race, I certainly wouldn't fall over. - Rekorn has a 12-kill I swing in big swing as favor from when they met at Packetham. That's from Tony from Ascot Vale. - I'd be redoing those mats. And let's, let's, look, if that was Pythagoras on the text line, I'd be, yeah, don't think that's right. - What is going to think about tomato toast he's going around in that race there for the Phillies at Dumbit on Saturday? Adrian Bott was confident. - Yeah, look, I quite like the horse. Just the end of the trip was the little question mark I had. And the race number is, tomato toasty, - Yes. - I rate six. - Yeah, so look, I've got a little question mark on her at the end of 16. I know she's certainly bred to run. So she draws well to get a nice cushy run.
