Games with Pema

Hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, and welcome, welcome, welcome to Yoto Daily. It is Sunday, the 25th of January, 2026. How's your Sunday looking folks? Are you having a nice relaxing chilled out Sunday? Or are you busy, busy, busy out and about doing things? Whatever it is you're doing, thank you so much for giving us a little bit of time, this fine Sunday in January. And I do mean us, because Pema is with us today. Yes, Pema's going to take us through a fun game of 3, 2, 1. So I'm going to pass over to Pema. I'll pop back at the end to say my goodbyes. Thank you very much, folks. Over to Pema. Hooray! Hello friends, it's Pema, and today we're going to be playing a game of 3, 2, 1. 3, 2, 1 is a game where I say three words, three adjectives or describing words, and you need to think of something that matches all of those words. So if I said soft, furry and sharp, you might think, okay, my cat. But then I'll go down to two of those words, and you need to think of something different each time, so then I might say, okay, think of something soft and furry. And you can't use your cat again, you need to think of something else. Maybe a furry blanket, perhaps. And then I'll go down to one of those words, just once they're soft, and you need to think, okay, something new again, something soft. My hair, my hair is soft. Now you don't need to find this thing in real life, you can just think of it, see it in your head, and say it out loud. But you can have a bonus point if you do find an actual object in your home, I think, that matches these describing words. You can take count of the points as we go, or you can just play along, no worries. All right, are we ready? Round one, ding-ding! Can you think of something for me? That is, hmm, sharp, heavy, and wooden, sharp, heavy and wooden. So something made of wood, something sharp, and something heavy, something that fits all three of those words. Okay, 10 seconds on the clock. Let's go! How did you do? Did you think of something? Did you manage to find something in your house and get that bonus point? I'll tell you what I got, and I did get a bonus point actually, because it's something that I found in my house. My desk, I'm currently sitting at my desk, it's made of wood, it's got sharp corners, so you could be careful if you're running around my desk, it's got sharp corners, and it's very, very heavy, I cannot lift it by myself. So I found my desk, what did you find for sharp, heavy and wooden? Okay, well done, next bit. This round, we're going for heavy and wooden. So two words now, heavy and wooden, you've got 10 seconds on the clock. Off you go! Alright, what did you think of? Can you tell me? Cool, I, well, go with me here, I had to get a little creative for this one because I was struggling to think of something heavy and wooden, and eventually I thought of an ore, an ore on a boat, a big ore maybe on like an old-school ship that you use to move the boat and propel it forwards. That's what I thought of an ore. Did anyone else get ore? Okay, last bit of round one, I'd like you to think of something wooden, something wooden, made of wood, please, something you would describe as wooden. Ready? Go for it. Okay, what have we got? Something wooden, what did you get? Fantastic, I thought of, well, the obvious, I went for the obvious, something wooden, a tree, trees are made of wood, aren't they? There's a tree outside my window with a pigeon in it, and I thought that tree, so I also think that technically I do get the bonus point for that one, even though the tree's outdoors, I can see it from my house, so tree. What did you go for? Alrighty, round two, three words, this time we're going to go for, hmm, round, something that's round, something that's bouncy, and something that's colourful, round, bouncy, and colourful. Can you think of something that matches those words? Go for it. What did you get? Well, that's amazing, fantastic, I myself got a ball, a bouncy ball, a beach ball maybe, or a tennis ball, those are colourful too. Ah, it feels, I was just thinking it feels great to bounce a tennis ball, doesn't it? Bouncing it and catching it in your hands, I always think that feels very satisfying, something I'd like to do more of bouncing a tennis ball. Okay, well well done, we're onto the next part of this round, and our two words that we're finding are going to be round and colourful, something round and colourful, 10 seconds on the clock, let's go. Okay, what is it, what did you get? Uh-huh, I actually found this one again, quite challenging, the ones with two words I think are the harder ones, so I thought of a plate, maybe a colourful round plate, maybe a round pencil eraser possibly, maybe you've got a round piece of art in your home, not sure, a bit of a tricky one, that one, I definitely struggled with that one, so hopefully you did a bit better than me, but it's onto the third part of this round, something, something colourful, anything colourful. What did you go for? Oh, that sounds very beautiful and colourful, well I thought of a rainbow, a beautiful rainbow arching through the sky, after it rains, luckily for us there are so many beautiful colourful things in the world, so I bet that was an easy one for everybody. Alright, let's do one more and this time the words we're going to use are something that feels sticky, something that's sticky, something you can eat and something that is sweet, okay, so sticky and I'm actually thinking of a specific thing and I wonder if you're going to get it this round, I'm thinking of a specific thing that is sticky, sweet and edible, so edible means something you can eat, so let's see if we come up with the same thing, okay, are you ready? Go for it. What did you think of? Oh, was it honey? Because that's what I was thinking of, something sticky, sweet and edible, tastes delicious, it's sticky if you get it on your hands and it's very sweet, honey is what I was thinking of, okay, now back to normal, I'd like to ask all to think of something that is edible and sweet, edible and sweet, so something you can eat that is also sweet and it can't be honey this time, okay, or if you said something other than honey in the last round, something different from that as well, all right, are you ready for it? All right, go on, something sweet and edible. What did you go for? Okay, did you say chocolate maybe? Did you say lollies or that's what we call sweets in Australia or candy? Did you go for, maybe you went, you know, a healthier route and you went for an apple, maybe you went for an orange, I, you know what I thought of and this might be a little bit, you might not have had one of these, but one of my favorite fruits is something called a lychee and it is really small and it's got spiky skin, like kind of red spiky skin and it's got this kind of white flesh to the fruit and a little pip inside and they're small but they're so sweet and delicious, so I thought of a lychee because I love them and I haven't had one this year. Okay, this last one is going to be something sweet, but I don't think we should do something that tastes sweet this time. I think we should think of something sweet that somebody has done for you, so sometimes we might describe something nice that somebody has done for you or something caring as being sweet or kind and so this time I want you to think of something nice and caring, something sweet that somebody has done for you recently. Okay, let's go for it. We'll give you a little bit longer this time, 20 seconds on the clock, here we go, something sweet, somebody has done for you. Okay, tell me, what is something sweet that somebody has done for you recently? Well, that's really lovely and I'm glad you have people in your life that do sweet things for you like that. Something sweet that somebody did for me recently was give me a card, a card to say Merry Christmas at the end of last year and I thought that was very sweet, so thank you, hope, who gave me the card, thank you for giving me a card. Okay, so that was a nice sweet thing that somebody did for me. And now we're going to close out with a little bit of cheese or chocolate, Pemma's version and I'll say to you two things and you have to pick one that you prefer, you can't say nope, you can't have both, you've got to choose one thing, so let's go.
