Hi, besties, and welcome back, oh my gosh, to the Sad to Savage podcast.
In today's episode, we're going to be doing a deep dive on setting goals and creating
a step-by-step plan that will help you actually reach them following my five-step, Sad to
Savage goal setting system.
I just made that up, but it is what I'm calling it because it is five steps, and I use it
every single month.
For the month of June, I set the goals of becoming hotter, richer, smarter, and healthier.
We're going to deep dive into how I plan to actually reach those goals next while I walk
you guys through the structure to set your goals for the future, too.
Now, obviously, before we jump in, I want to address my voice.
Does anyone else have allergies because I don't know what's going on at the ripe age
of 28 all of a sudden, and I'm coming down with them in Michigan right now?
It is insane outside, and at first I thought I was sick, and then I'm like, I think it's
horrible allergies.
I've never experienced this before because everyone is getting them right now, so I apologize
for my voice sounding like this.
I was pushing off recording this, thinking it would get better, and it just hasn't, so
we're going to power through, but I promise this episode will still be really great if
you can look past the fact that I sound like this.
Anyway, even though it's allergy season, something about this late spring to early summer makes
me feel so alive, I swear it is the season of growth, and maybe I just think that because
looking back on late spring, early summer of 2021, that was my first real time in the
savage phase, so it's super nostalgic for me, and I always just feel so motivated and like
I'm reborn again, and I just love it so much.
Now, if you guys know me, and I'm assuming a good amount of you guys really do by now,
you know how much I love a goal because I love the journey that you go on when you're
going after it.
The journey is truly the best part, and it's where you learn about yourself, you find your
passion, your purpose, or you just begin to go on this journey of self-discovery and find
your way.
A lot of the times when we set a goal, when we're on the journey, that goal changes.
We learn more about ourselves, we understand something new about ourselves, and we're like,
"I actually thought I was working towards this, but now I'm pivoting and going towards something
different."
For example, when I started my sad-disadvaged journey, my goal at first was to lose weight.
I wanted to lose weight so badly because I thought it would make me feel confident.
I thought that if I could fit in my clothes again, I'd feel better, and then when I started
working out and eating a little bit better, I was like, "Wait, my goal is to feel healthy."
I actually feel really good mentally when I work out.
I feel great physically, so my goal shifted because on that journey, I learned more about
myself.
In today's episode, I really want to talk about the strategy that I do when it comes
to setting goals and setting yourself up for success because if you have a strategy, that
is like, it's literally the key.
When I'm reaching, my goals are working towards them.
I have found that if you break them down into daily, weekly, and monthly habits, the steps
that you need to take to reach that goal, you will be successful.
Now, of course, every single month, I do this using my Sad to Savage Habit Tracker that
I made.
It's linked in this episode.
That is my baby.
That is my best friend.
That is my go-to.
I love checking off my habits every day, and I love using it to hold myself accountable
and to just help me become the person that I'm actively trying to be.
My Habit Tracker has allowed me to change my entire life.
Just buying it isn't going to change your life.
Using it, sitting down, setting a goal, deliberately planning your daily, weekly, and monthly habits,
learning about yourself month over month, using it, holding yourself accountable, and
just growing from it.
That is how you're going to change your life.
Now, early on in my Sad to Savage journey, I learned that a goal is essentially nothing
without the plan behind it.
You can say absolutely anything like, "I want to be healthier.
I want to work out.
I want to wake up early."
But when you phrase it into, "My goal is to wake up earlier, and I'm going to do that
by doing A, B, and C to get there," that is how you will find success and change your
life.
I know myself well, and if I do not make a goal with that perspective of setting the
goal and setting my habits, I will not accomplish it.
That's because if there's no plan, there's no next step.
I don't even know what I'm doing.
I am someone who can do absolutely anything if they know how or if they're at least taking
a calculated step in the right direction.
It's actually how I started online, growing a following online was ... I'm sure you guys
have heard the story before, but my first viral video where Sad to Savage was born,
I was talking just in my ... I propped up my phone and was filming a video after I was
working out, and I was like, "I get so frustrated that everyone's saying change your life, but
no one is teaching you how, no one is teaching you the steps.
I'll teach you guys.
I changed my entire life.
I'm from Sad to Savage, and it's so cool because it's so full circle, but I stand by
that.
You cannot change your life if you just have the idea like, "Oh, I want to do this."
You have to have the steps that in between the journey.
I want you right now to think about your own life.
How many times have you thought about something that you wanted to start doing, but didn't?
Because you just didn't know how or how did you in your life experience a goal, but you
didn't make it happen because you didn't have anything backing you to help you?
I think that this episode and the way that I explain how I look at it will be really
helpful for you and for your future growth.
But before we dive in, there's going to be a little bit of tough love from me right here.
You have to choose who you want to become in this life, and it starts with your goals.
You need to wake up and become intentional with your thoughts and your daily actions.
No one is going to go after life for you.
No one is going to make you go after anything.
You have to choose it and be responsible for yourself and also your friends, your family,
your partner, they might not have the same wants, needs, goals, or dreams as you.
So you cannot rely on any other person when it comes to going after your dream life and
what you want.
You have to be the one who does it.
You have to be the one that shows up when life is stacked against you.
For example, say that you want to eat healthier, but your partner doesn't care and always wants
to get takeout.
You are not responsible or excuse me, your partner is not responsible for your dreams
and your goals and helping you reach them.
It's not theirs.
And just because they're doing something does not mean that you have to disalign from your
life to match theirs.
Or say you want to work out and you want to start trying to work out classes and spend
your free time, your weekends doing something that will help you become healthier, feel
better in your body or in your mind, but your friend group, they like to go out on Fridays
and Saturdays and be hungover or food the next day that that's their choice.
And if you are choosing actively their choices over your own, over what you know is right
for your life, over what goes with your goals, you are literally doing yourself a disservice.
Do you know what I mean?
The right choices that align with you aren't always going to be the easy choice.
They aren't always going to be one where you have people on your side supporting you, helping
you that you can lean on those choices that you have to make are so necessary, even if
they're the harder choice.
Now all that to say you are responsible for your goals and your life is entirely up to
you.
I'm going to walk you through now my five step sad savage goal setting system and then
I'm going to walk you through how I used it to set me up for success this June.
I know it's already June 8th, but I figured you guys could use this moving forward right
now or for the next month and if you guys like this episode, I can literally do it every
month just in scrim DM me and tell me if you like it because I do this anyway every month,
so it's easy to talk about the five steps I'm going to go over them that we're going
to go through each one and I'll walk you through how to do it for yourself while also walking
you through how I did it.
Step one and all this is to pick your identity goal.
Who do you want to become?
That's essentially what you need to figure out.
The second step is choosing your focus area is a health wealth confidence growth.
The third step is breaking it down into daily, weekly or monthly habits.
The fourth step is to track it with intention and then the fifth step is to reflect and
readjust every month.
I want to break these steps down and I want you guys to do this with me while I talk you
through it.
You can do it in your notes app.
You can do it in a journal.
You can also listen.
If you're driving right now, come back, think about things and then take time to intentionally
set your goals and write this out somewhere.
Step one, choosing your identity goal.
I want to ask you, who do you want to become?
Now, I do this on looking at it as like a monthly goal, but it's not just a monthly goal.
It's like a goal for my life.
For me, I want to become someone who is confident.
I want to become someone who has no boundaries.
That was kind of what I was thinking over June.
I don't want money to be a boundary.
I don't want health to ever become a boundary.
Me as I can barely talk.
I want to be this person who is so free and fulfilled and who doesn't have anything holding
her down so that I can continue to help others.
I can continue to help my family continue to grow and become the person that I want to
be.
Ask yourself, do you want to become someone confident, someone that is clear headed, someone
productive, someone who's calm?
Do you want to be someone who goes after your dream life?
Do you want to be someone who is healthy?
I want it to be a healthy 5 a.m. little workout every day, whereas cute workouts at Skrull.
And I became that.
You guys, pre-2020, I was not that at all.
It's crazy how when you choose who you want to become and you set up a structure and plan
and habits to align with it, you will become that person.
It's not going to happen overnight.
It takes time and it takes deliberate intentional work, but you will become that person.
When you have this emotional backing to like your identity, to your goal, that is like
an emotional anchor.
You're no longer just chasing a result.
You're chasing a new identity.
You're stepping into it.
So before we move on to step 2, just think through what would be your goal, your overarching?
How do you want to feel?
Who do you want to be?
What does that feel like?
What does that look like?
For step number 2, we pick our focus areas for our goals.
So for example, for June, my focus areas were to become richer, healthier, hotter, and smarter.
These give structure to my vision.
I want you guys to really think about any area that matters to you.
I'm going to go through a bunch of them.
And the reason that I picked those focus areas, they come back to my overall goal of having
no boundaries so that I can continue to grow and become better richer.
I want to be in a place financially where I never have to worry about money ever.
I can help my siblings.
They need help.
I can pay for my wedding.
I can help Jake pay off his student debt.
I want to become a richer.
I want to intentionally have habits every single day that are helping me financially, healthier.
I love feeling healthy.
I love feeling good in my body.
I love feeling mentally healthy.
I will do anything to continue to ensure my health and that longevity, hotter.
I love, I love fashion lately.
I love feeling confident.
I love feeling good and hotter is not just an outwardly thing.
I think it has a lot to do with confidence and how you feel about yourself inside, portrayed
on the outside.
And that's something I want to focus on.
And then the last thing for me was smarter.
I believe that I'm someone who is very smart.
Naturally, I'm social over being smart.
If that makes sense, I've always been social, which has its own strength and you have to
be very smart to be very good in social situations, I think to an extent.
But I want to continue to grow my knowledge in self-help and education in so many different
areas.
And I, and I won't just become smarter unless I'm actively reading books, taking classes.
I want to learn more about physical health, about meal plans.
I want to be able to learn more so that I can help you guys even more and help myself
more.
Those are my four areas.
Now, I want you guys to pick your areas.
It does not have to be four.
Sometimes I like to think of myself on, if there was like a scale of like, you're starting
off in beginning to like expert, I'm closer to the expert.
So me focusing on four areas, I don't want you guys to always compare yourself to me
like, oh, she's doing four.
I have to do four.
I've been doing this and like training myself for years, starting with one thing is incredible.
One focus area that is incredible.
When it comes to your goals, your habits, your life, you want to set yourself up for success
and ask yourself like, what is realistic?
What can I be consistent with?
What is sustainable?
Well, you can always add on.
There's always room for growth, but you, what I want you to zoom out and see is that you
don't want to set yourself up for failure, right?
You don't want to say I'm going to focus on four areas and do all these crazy things and
then get burned out a weekend and be like, this is so hard, I can't do this.
You want to basically start small and continue to add on to that.
Now, let's go through some examples.
Maybe you want to make some financial goals.
Maybe that looks like getting richer or growing your income, saving more money, budgeting better,
or maybe entering your debt free era and paying off your debt or boosting your credit score.
Or maybe you want to work on a side hustle to work on financial goals, launching a brand,
growing a platform, monetizing your skills.
Say you want to focus on personal growth goals.
Maybe that's getting smarter by reading, learning, listening to podcasts, taking a course.
Maybe it's by working on becoming disciplined, by waking up earlier, planning your day, limiting
distractions.
Maybe you want to work on your mental strength by building emotional resilience, journaling,
relaxing gratitude.
One of the best things I've ever done for myself was work on things that would help
me in times of need, like breath work or learning how to calm myself down.
I learned I had no coping mechanisms.
I did a podcast episode in this a couple of weeks back where I talked through it, but
learning habits for like coping mechanisms, for stress, for anxiety, for when I get upset,
for when life happens, that was an investment in time, energy and effort that has paid off
10-fold.
So you want to work on your health and wellness goals.
Maybe that's becoming healthier by nourishing your body, moving more, reducing stress from
your life or working on your hormones and healing your hormones.
I'm sure, well, I'm not sure, but maybe you guys saw my new product, my new company.
My new company is called Rudify.
We have supplement.
It's our first product out.
We have three more products launching in the next year, and it's called PsychoSync.
It helps you balance your cycle.
It is incredible.
I'll link it so you guys can check it out, but that's one thing that I'm doing also to
help my hormone health.
Just finding little things based on your goal is what is going to help you become successful.
But anyway, maybe you want to work on health and wellness by feeling more energy, learning
how to get more energy, improving your sleep, drinking more water, supporting your nervous
system.
Or maybe you want to work on confidence and appearance goals, like getting hotter.
You could have a glow-up routine, work on skincare, work on affirmations.
Maybe you want to work on having better energy, like a better vibe, like by prioritizing self-care
through really honing in on your style, through showing up for yourself.
Maybe you want to work on loving your body through intuitive movement, near work.
Maybe your focus area is on relationships and connection goals.
Maybe it's on working and becoming a better friend, by creating habits around checking
in, planning quality time with friends, nurturing your friends, those relationships.
Or maybe it's with dating, and you want to work on healing patterns that you have from
previous relationships, learning your needs, or maybe it's setting boundaries with people
in your life so that you can protect your peace and stop people pleasing.
Maybe you want to work on being mindful, sorry, I'm actually whispering, by the way, my throat
hurts so bad, maybe you want to work on being mindful or spiritual or working on a relationship
with God.
Maybe you do that by doing journaling and breath work and therapy or a daily devotional
or slowing down your mornings.
Once you have your goals, your focus areas, then we're going to go into step three.
And step three is where we're focusing on breaking down our goals into habits.
This is the blueprint, this is how we will actually reach our goals.
I want you to look at the goals that you set for yourself above, and I want you to deliberately
build out a daily habit, maybe a couple daily habits, one or two, a weekly habit or a monthly
habit that will help you get to that goal.
Ask yourself, what is one thing I can do daily that will support this, that will help me
on this journey?
When I was going through that list, I kind of broke them down into little habits that
would help with that overall goal.
So kind of revisit that, listen to that again if you want more inspo, but I'm going to
go through mine with you guys too.
Say what sometimes daily habits are very specific, and sometimes they're habits that will help
you that are more so on a weekly basis.
So what could you do weekly to help you reach that goal, or what about monthly, what's a
monthly milestone that you want to hit that will help you stay on track for that goal?
You want to keep the habits small, realistic, and also rewarding.
This structure is going to help you turn your goals into real action.
Daily habits, weekly habits, monthly habits, let's kind of go over them really quick.
Daily habits are where like the actual magic is happening, it's the little actions that
help you build consistency.
They do not have to be dramatic, they don't have to be hard, it could be something small
like reading 10 pages every day, or going on a walk, or taking your vitamins.
When you do them every single day, they build and build and build until they become who
you are.
They also, when you practice them as habits, a new thing, and you build it as a habit loop
in your brain, it becomes eventually an automatic behavior that you do without even having to
make the choice consciously.
It truly becomes who you are.
Weekly habits are helping you stay grounded, they're helping you stay intentional.
They're usually things that are a little bit more time or planning like meal prepping or
trying something new like a workout class, but they're fun, they're structured without
being overwhelming.
Monthly habits are the big check and points, that's how I look at them.
I treat them like milestones, like did I walk 50 miles, did I finish 2 bucks?
These are more of a zoomed out view of your growth that help keep you focused on the bigger
picture.
I want to walk you guys through how I set up my habit tracker for this month with my habits
to reach my goals.
When it came to being healthier, my overall goal, it was, okay, I want to be healthier,
I want to feel my body, I want to feel better, I want to support my longevity, I want to
be healthy, I love being healthy, I love it, I'm addicted to it, I'm obsessed with it.
The daily habits that I chose to help me with my goal of continuing to work on my health
were one, going on a daily walk.
This is just a low impact movement that supports my metabolism, it clears my head, it's for
my mental health, it's for my physical health, I sit down a lot during the day, so I'm getting
my steps in.
I also do a lot of my morning walk, I either start working, I write a to-do list, I always
have a stack and I can watch TV, I can watch TikTok, I can actually just have time to myself,
so that is me time, that's something that I look forward to, that's something that also
works on, or helps me work on my health.
The next daily habit was having 3 healthy meals a day, this just helps me with my energy,
my hormones, my overall health of just feeling and eating in alignment with my goals.
When I add this to my habit tracker, and I'll get into this in the next point, I am more
aware of my eating habits, because you can be like, "Oh, I eat clean, oh, I do this,"
but when you see it on a piece of paper, you can look and be like, "Oh, I didn't even realize
that Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, I'm not eating healthy," and that's almost half the
week.
When I fix that, or when I work on that, or find small ways to improve that, I'm improving
my overall health, and then the third daily habit is I'm tracking movement, which helps
with accountability, helps with my, it gives me specs of dopamine, from checking it off
every day after I work out, and it also just lets me learn more about myself and understand
where I'm consistent.
I am extremely consistent when it comes to healthy habits, I've been working on these
for a while, but these are just really fun for me to track and to continue to work on,
even if I'm only getting a little bit better each month, I'm so proud of myself.
When it came to weekly, my weekly habit that I'm focusing on, there's actually two.
My weekly habits for health are meal planning, and then also meal prepping.
When I meal plan, I'm following actually a meal plan right now, so when I just go over
at the beginning of each week before I go grocery shopping, when I want to eat what
sounds good, planning my meals, it just makes it fun and helps me set myself up for success
because I'm aware, I'm consciously working on this goal of eating healthier.
Meal prepping, my fiance does a lot of, but it also just sets me up for success.
He was gone this weekend for like four days, I missed him so much, but I also missed how
many things he meal preps for us every week.
I do meal prep, but he does a lot of it, but that just sets me up for success because when
you have healthy options available, it's easier to make a healthy choice.
Now, my monthly habit that I made for getting healthier was to read a book on health because
learning more knowledge, having more information, that leads to better decisions from me and
deeper motivation.
What I found with health is that there's a lot of emotions when it comes to food and
people's relationships with food, where when people are trying to make healthier choices,
sometimes it comes back to that emotion instead of the logic and I try to always look at it
with the logic.
So for example, I hosted a baby shower yesterday morning, it was amazing, but there were so
many treats.
There were donuts, cookies, cake pops, cupcakes, so much stuff and it was 2 PM.
I, instead of looking at it from an emotional standpoint of I can't eat these things, they
don't align with my health goes in line with this, I can look at it from a literal like
science logical where I'm like, okay, I have a wedding later tonight.
I know I'm going to be drinking alcohol at this wedding and having a lot of sugar in
those drinks.
I don't need that much sugar today, like I'll actually feel horrible while I'll actually
feel so much worse, like I always get headaches when I have too much sugar where I'm like,
it's not smart for me to have that knowing how it's going to impact my body and make
me feel.
You know what I mean?
It's like not looking from the emotions, looking from the logic and the more that I can learn
and I'm not saying that I'm always like that, like, oh, I can't have dessert.
I don't feel that way, but I am conscious about like how things actually, how food makes
me feel, how eating something will make me feel.
When my body feels good, my brain works better, my energy is better, everything in my life
improves and that's why health in general is so important to me.
When it came to getting hotter this month, my goals just have confidence continue to
glow up.
I feel like I've been glowing up the last six months in all areas of my life.
I'm just in this like very beautiful like energy and phase and I just want to feel, I want
to look on the outside how I feel on that, on the inside.
My daily habits that I set were affirmations to help me continue rewiring my subconscious
to believe that I am all the affirmations that I write every day.
I truly do believe them and I love affirmations.
They keep me aligned.
They keep me grounded.
They keep me focused.
I'm in a line of work that I'm in with social media.
I have a lot of people that, first off, I have a lot of people that are incredible.
You guys are incredible.
I am so lucky to have you guys in my life, in my corner as my friends like I, I love
my life.
I love talking to you guys on my secret TikTok account.
Like I feel like I'm, it's let me get so much closer to you guys and I'm just so grateful
and I love you guys and I focus on you guys.
I don't focus on the negative, but what I will say about the negative because I get
people messaging me pretty like mean stuff every single day.
There's not a day that goes by that I'm not ripped on in some way or accused of things
or talked about or just message things.
If I did not do affirmations, if I was not so strongly rooted in my, in myself, if I
was not so aware of my qualities, I think that I would be in a bad place mentally with
the job that I have because if I didn't already know who I was, all these people telling me
saying things about me, negative things about me, I think that that would seep in, but there's
no space for it to seep in because I, I do affirmations every day.
I choose who I am.
I know who I am.
I'm aligned with who I am.
So someone else telling me that I'm something different.
I don't hear them.
Like, well, I obviously see what they're saying, but I don't hear them.
Like I'm like, that's not penetrating beneath the skin.
That's not getting in my head.
That's not affecting me because I know who I am and I love who I am.
That amount of people who have messaged me telling me, I know you're on a Zempak, you're
not transparent.
Um, like I wish you were better.
I'm like, you guys sound crazy to me, which by the way, I'm not on any weight loss drugs
just because I've lost a lot of weight recently and a lot of, I understand the speculation.
I do understand because a lot of people aren't fully open and transparent about it, but in
the line of work that I'm in, I would see that as really unforgivable for, for example,
me teaching healthy habits and routines to be on a weight loss drug and not be transparent
about it.
Not that I couldn't go on it.
I think if you're doctor, I can say if it's something that you need, I'm not a medical
professional.
So like I can't talk on it, but I think that if you need it, like go for it.
I personally haven't used it.
I don't, I don't think that I need it to be completely honest.
I don't think that I'm a candidate for it and I like teaching habits and routines that
I think it'd be inappropriate for me to take if I were to not disclose it in my line of
work.
Anyway, that was a long little side note, but that's why affirmations are so important
and why I do them.
And they will help me get hotter.
And I can actually tweak the affirmations I'm saying every day to align with, I am confident.
I shine on the outside.
I am beautiful.
I feel so confident every room that I walk into, like I can change my affirmations to
align with feeling that hot energy.
Another daily habit that I'm doing is taking my vitamins, which I touched on briefly.
My cycle sync supplement to support just nourishing my body, support my hormones and just feel
my overall best because when you're out of balance, our supplement cycle sync helps you
realign, rebalance your hormones.
When you're out of balance, it affects everything, your mood, your energy, your sleep, your like
actual like appearance with acting, like it is crazy.
So I take that supplement as one of my daily habits to help me with getting hot too.
When it comes to weekly for this, I decided that every week I want to try a new makeup
look just because it builds like new skills.
It's exciting.
It helps me embody a new energy.
I don't know if you guys have noticed, but I am obsessed with fake freckles.
That's something that I started recently because I just watched a bunch of videos on it.
And I was like, I'm just going to try it.
I'm just going to do it.
And I'm in love with it.
I tried doing my blush a different way and I'm obsessed with it.
I tried a couple of new products recently.
Like it's just something really fun that is honestly helping me feel more confident in
that area.
I also think feeling hot isn't just how you look.
It really is how you feel.
It's what you radiate.
And that starts with what you're doing daily.
When it came to getting smarter, I wanted to expand my knowledge and grow my brain,
my mind.
The daily habits that I chose for this were reading a few pages or listening to an audiobook
every day because that builds consistency, focus, and builds retention in my brain.
But also, I'm learning new information, which one plus one equals I'm getting smarter.
When it comes to reading an audiobook, sometimes life gets really busy.
That's why I'm like, okay, I can read.
Well, I also like to read fantasy books.
So I'm like, I can read or listen to an audiobook that is going to help me in life.
Another habit that I did is cleaning one space a day.
The reason why this goes with getting smarter is because it clears like mental clutter.
It improves my focus.
It keeps my environment healthy and supportive for me if my space is clean.
This one, I feel like people would look at me and be like, how is cleaning one space going
to make you smarter?
Like in my head, it makes so much sense.
When I have a clean space, I can focus on other things like reading or learning.
A smart woman is a dangerous woman in the best way possible.
And that's who I want to be.
Now those are all the areas, smarter, hotter, healthier, richer that I'm focusing on.
And those are my daily, weekly, and monthly habits that are supporting them.
Now let's talk about my overall goal of becoming richer.
Here I want to build my wealth with my businesses.
The daily habits that I picked for this are one, having a morning routine.
And the reason why my morning routine is going to help me become richer and increase my income
is because it sets the tone for productivity.
It gets me in the right mindset.
It lets me work on things that I want for my life, my health, my mental health early in
the morning and get it done so that I can focus during my work day on the things that
are going to help me improve my income.
Like my money is a strategy.
Every morning I wake up early, I walk, I work out, I make my bed, I do my affirmations,
I do my habit tracker, I do my affirmation and gratitude card, I do my devotional, I
empty the dishwasher, I make a healthy breakfast, I shower, I do my hair, I do my makeup, I
get ready.
When I do that every day, I'm setting myself up for success for a successful work day.
Also my morning routine, it's something that I can film and teach people with, which helps
me online teach people about their habits, which also in turn is going to help me improve
my businesses and grow.
Another daily habit that I have is spending 30 minutes every single day on building my
future.
I call it 30 minutes of future focused work.
Now whether that is sitting and brainstorming, ideas of things I want to talk about, maybe
it's outreach.
This is time where I'm investing in taking classes or just learning more things or dreaming
or working on future products.
When I'm working on things that are for the future, not necessarily like things that I
have to do every single day for work.
My other daily habit that I did for the first time ever that I'm obsessed with is having
one hour without my phone, like literally putting my phone away and I decided to do this to help
me get richer because my phone is such a distraction and when I was in Greece, Jake, I had the best
time ever.
I was so happy because I didn't have my phone to distract me, I wasn't really on it and
I was like, wait, I actually really like not having my phone intentional time without it.
Another thing that it allows is it allows me to be focused, to reduce distractions, to
improve my work quality and how I'm showing up for myself.
I did this for the first time with this month.
I've never, ever done that where I'm like, I'm putting away my phone for an hour and
I said, I put away my phone, it was going to be one hour and three hours later.
I realized I was like, I just did the deepest work of my life.
I was not distracted by my phone.
I'm obsessed with this habit.
The monthly habits that I have for getting richer are filming 60 videos where I'm just
building consistent content.
I'm investing myself, my filming, my learning, my growing and that's going to help me drive
future income because a lot of my income comes from partnerships and then another monthly
habit is investments and having money every month to invest.
I have a financial planner.
I stopped investing over the last couple of months because all of my extra money was going
towards instead of investing and saving my wedding that's so expensive.
So now if my monthly habit is to have a chunk of money to invest in the end of the month,
I can then take a step back and say, okay, what can I do to basically make sure that
I have that money?
How can I budget?
How can I improve that?
Now I am doing daily habits that are going to help me improve my income and get richer,
which will help me have more money to invest.
But whenever I set these monthly, daily, weekly habits, I'm looking at them and I'm thinking
about them and I'm understanding even a little bit deeper how to set myself up for success.
Now for step four, it's going to be to track your daily, weekly, and monthly habits.
Now I track my habits using the Sad to Savage Habit Tracker, which I will have linked in
this episode.
You guys know that I'm obsessed with it, but the reason that I'm obsessed with it is because
when you track your habits, you're not relying on willpower or you're not just guessing anymore.
You're seeing real data and your data about you, it does not lie to you.
You can learn from it.
You are literally holding yourself accountable in a healthy way.
And it's also using the tracker, it's not about being perfect, it's about becoming aware.
You start to see what habits you actually are sticking to, what ones you avoid on a
daily basis, what your patterns are, and you're learning how to show up for yourself.
And that is so powerful.
You literally learn from yourself.
Your tracker becomes a mirror, not just for what you're doing, but for why, for how.
You can look back at it and say, "Why did I fall off that habit?
Why do I always show up for my walk, but never for stretching after?
Why do I feel my best on days when I'm doing these habits and then why do I have days where
I'm doing things differently?"
This is how you stop guessing and start understanding yourself.
Your tracker becomes data about you and when you have that data, you can make a line changes
instead of emotional ones.
You can also build momentum and motivation tracking your habits because every little
checkmark, every habit complete, every row that you fill in, it gives you a dopamine
hit, which literally helps you rewire your brain to crave consistency.
You start to feel proud of yourself.
You start to see progress even on the days that feel slow, and that builds trust with
yourself.
That trust will turn into confidence and that confidence will lead to growth.
You also, using your tracker, will create visual proof of your glow-up.
When you use a status average tracker, you don't just feel like you're becoming better.
You can literally see it.
You can flip back through your month and months of the past, like month over month over month
and go, "Wow, I walked 25 times this month.
Wow, over the last three months, I've been so consistent with eating healthy."
Wow, I showed up for myself 90% of the time this month, and that's incredible because
life is going to have ups and downs.
Things are going to get in the way that you can't predict, but you can see your consistency
and you can understand it.
I will always mark in my tracker when I go on a trip, when I'm sick, when I have a travel
day, when anything's going on, so I can look back and say, "Okay, I'm looking at all my
habits and my consistency, my growth," and then I can also say, "Okay, those days when
I didn't have three healthy meals, I was traveling, I didn't have a kitchen, I didn't have that
much control.
Okay, that makes sense.
Okay, you can look and see and learn so much."
You can say, "Wow, I kept this promise myself.
Wow, I showed up this month and I actually feel better.
I can feel my life changing."
If you've ever felt like you're doing all the things right, but you're not seeing your
results, start tracking your habits.
That is how you're going to figure out what's actually working.
That's how you're going to grow.
My Sad to Savage Habit Tracker, it keeps me grounded, helps me hold myself accountable,
and it makes me obsessed with actually showing up and doing the work.
Again, I'm going to have this linked in my bio of this episode.
I'm almost sold out, but if I'm sold out by the time you guys are hearing this, I am
going to be restocking in the end of July.
Step five is reflecting and realigning every single month so that you can continue to tweak
your step-by-step process to reaching your goal.
At the end of the month, I want you to look at your habits and let them teach you.
I want you to say, "What worked?
What didn't work this month?
Who am I becoming?
What do I want to shift for the next month?"
Say you made the goal of working out consistently, but you didn't hit it that month.
I want you to sit and be like, say, because your overall goal is to become healthier.
One of your daily habits was working out consistently.
Say you weren't that successful when you look at your habits.
You couldn't look at that and say, "How can I change that habit?
What can I try differently?
What's going to set me up for success?"
Say you were trying to work out every day after work, but when you reflect on your habits
and you look at it, you're like, "I'm exhausted after work.
I'm feeling so tired.
Why don't I try instead to go on a walk every day at lunch?
Or why don't I try this month to work out before work and see if I can be more consistent
with that?
Why don't I try a new time to do it?
Maybe you want to work on self-love so you're doing affirmations, but you aren't doing a
good job or if they are not doing a good job, you're having a hard time doing it.
Maybe you can say, "You know what?
I have my affirmation journal next to my bed and I'm supposed to do it before bed, but
I'm so tired before bed.
So why don't I put it next to my coffee machine so in the morning when I make coffee, I can
do my affirmations that when you change up the habit, try a new way.
Whenever I look back at my habits, I find that the ones that I'm having a hard time with,
when I reevaluate it, when I learn from it, when I say, "How can I change this?"
I'm one step closer to figuring out what's going to work for me.
Anytime that you fail, and I'm saying that with bunny ears, like with my fingers, like
fail, like you're not really failing, you're learning more about yourself.
You're getting closer to figuring it out.
Every fail is a step in the right direction.
Now we are going to wrap up this episode.
What I want to say before I go is that when you plan your daily, weekly, monthly habits,
when you create a habit loop for them, and my tracker walks you through this step by
step, how to create a habit, how to change a habit, gives you examples of habits, gives
you tips.
When you create a habit loop to go with these habits that you're planning to help you reach
your goal, you will become unstoppable.
You guys know the habit loop.
I talk about it all the time, but in a habit loop, you have a cue, a routine, and a reward,
and it follows the cycle over and over until you form a habit.
The cue is the thing that is triggering the habit loop.
It could be something like the time of day, a feeling, an emotion.
It is the trigger for the routine, which is the habitual behavior, the action that you're
doing.
The thing that is happening after the cue, and the reward is what you're getting out
of it.
It's what's driving the habit loop.
When you get a cue and you have a habit, your brain gets a taste of the reward.
So it does the routine that you've taught it to get that reward.
When you sit and set yourself up for success with your habits, say you want to create the
habit of, say your goal is to be healthier and you backtrack and you go, "Okay, how am
I going to do that?"
One of the steps is I'm going to go on a daily walk.
And you then say, "How am I going to build that habit and use the habit loop?"
You will be unstoppable.
For that example, it would be, "Okay, I'm going to go on a daily walk every day.
I'm going to make a habit loop."
My cue is going to be Sunday to Sunday.
My actual cue Sunday to Sunday at 7 a.m. every day I'm going to wake up, and I'm going to
have that be my cue, 7 a.m.
My routine is going to be going outside and walking for 20 minutes while listening to a
podcast.
My reward is a boosted endorphins for working out.
That's that.
I'm slowly creating this habit and getting healthier.
I'm investing in my health.
That is how you're going to be successful.
So after you actually plan out these habits, I want you to sit and write out your habit
loops for them.
Figure out what you're going to do.
When you figure this out, when you create no question, no space to be confused, you
will be successful.
Maybe I'll do another episode walking you guys through all 10 of my habit loops for my
daily habits for June, my three habit loops for my weekly and my three habit loops for
my monthly.
If that would be helpful, let me know.
But that is how you will become successful.
I love you.
I believe in you.
I'm proud of you.
And I want you to have the life that you want.
I want you to set goals so, so dreamy, like goals that would change your life.
And I want you to create the habits to work towards them because you can.
You are in control of your life.
You can change your life.
You will change your life.
I love you.
I believe in you.
I'm so proud of you and I'm so happy that you are here and I'm excited for your future
and what you can accomplish with your life.
I believe in you.
I love you.
And I'll talk to you next week.
Bye.
