The guide includes a style quiz, lifestyle assessments, and a practical capsule wardrobe framework to guide clothing decisions. It offers valuable trainings on personal style, hair styling, and daily routines, empowering users to feel more in control of their appearance and self-image. Beyond fashion, Sherry emphasizes the profound impact of meaningful relationships—especially in networking groups—on self-confidence. Through real-life examples, she demonstrates how connecting with supportive women in shared spaces fosters emotional relief, mutual growth, and a deeper understanding of one’s strengths. These connections not only uplift the individual but also create opportunities to help others, reinforcing a sense of purpose and value. Sherry encourages women to actively seek out groups where they can grow, learn, and build friendships that align with their personal and professional goals. The spring style guide is available at sherrybrazier.com, with future guides planned for summer, fall, and winter, offering seasonal styling solutions and confidence-building resources. Hello my friend welcome to the creating unshakeable self confidence podcast I'm sherry brazier and I'm your host and so glad that you're here today so if the audio sounds a little bit different I'm on my phone and I'm recording this at 5 30 in the morning as I go to the temple to serve in the temple.
And it this thought was on my mind as I fell asleep last night and I knew that if I didn't record it well it was on my mind this morning when I woke up that I would forget it and I would get going on my day and I wouldn't remember to record my thoughts so this is what we're doing today I'm going to record this on a voice memo in the car on my way to the temple so here's what I want to talk to you about today.
I want to talk to you about friendships networking the people that you surround yourself with on the daily and how that impacts your life for sure but more importantly your self concept your self image your self confidence.
So recently I joined a couple of networking groups and these networking groups I don't even know really how they came to be like honestly they were just meant to be they were I was looking for.
Groups to be in that would lift me up that would support me that would lift me up that would help me become the person that I want to be so that I can create what I want to create.
And I just started praying for that I started praying that I would know the networking group that I was supposed to join I started looking for networking groups I started looking for collaborative places to be.
So what this looked like was me googling literally I googled women networking groups in my area and I started to just read about different networking groups I I didn't really know what a networking group was really.
A guy didn't really understand networking groups there's lots of different ways that you can network and so I knew what networking was obviously but I didn't know about different kinds of networking groups and how they how they run and I was I was like I'm curious of how these networking groups run and how they could be beneficial to me.
And so I googled it so I started to just learn about different networking groups and I just started going I just started being a guest in different networking groups and I started this last year it was kind of my end of the year goal I guess you could say I don't even know if it was a goal but maybe you call it intuition whatever.
And so I started to just put myself out there meaning I just started attending different groups that were networking groups and a lot of them were business networking groups but some of them weren't business networking groups.
They were just groups of women that I felt like they were raising their vibration they were becoming better versions of themselves they had mindsets that were expansive.
They had passions about different things that were expanding themselves right this could be church groups it could be groups that you would find in your kids is schools or maybe your own school it doesn't really matter where they are.
I think that the way that I found them was just what I like my interests my strengths things that I care about and those were the groups that manifested themselves to me that showed up in my world right.
So I started joining some of these groups meaning just going as a guest I didn't pay any money I didn't sign up for anything I didn't commit to anything I just started putting myself in places that there were groups of women that were either doing things that I wanted to do.
They had done things that I
had already done they were just people that I wanted to be around that were
going to lift me up and support me and I found some really great people in those
groups and I have met the most amazing women specifically through these
networking groups and I want to convey to you how these groups have raised
my self-concept. They have helped me to realize the strengths that I have, the
impact that I can provide to the world and it has raised my self-confidence.
So I thought I would give you some tactical ways that this has
happened for me and because you might be thinking like how does joining a
networking group or a just any other kind of group help you increase your
self-confidence and so I just want to give you a example of how this has worked
for me and what I've seen show up over and over and over. So this is just one
one little example but this has happened. I can't even tell you how many times
this has happened. I could give you like 12 examples right at the top of my
head but I'll just give you this one. In one of the networking groups that I'm
in it's a networking group for women business owners and I just showed up I
knew no one. I knew not one single person that was gonna be at this group and I
was nervous. I was anxious to go because of all of the normal reasons that
you're gonna go into a room of women that you don't know that you don't know
what they do for a living you don't know who they are where they're from what
kind of you know backgrounds they have like there's so many like if they have
kids if they don't have kids are they married or they don't have they're not
married like you just don't know what you're gonna get when you go into these
groups and so I was a little bit nervous going in to the group and I almost
didn't go because I almost let my my anxiety keep me home but I was like you
know what I am going to do this scared I'm gonna do this with anxiety because I
want to achieve the goals that I have and in order to achieve the goals that I
have I'm gonna have to get really used to doing things anxious right so I gave
myself a pep talk all the way to the event that I can do this one of my
strengths is people I love to just get to know people and so I will go into
this room and I will put my own emotions and my own anxieties and my own
embarrassment and all of that on the table and I will do what I do best which is
learn about people I'm just gonna start learning about the people that are
there I'm just gonna ask them who they are and ask them all the things about
themselves and that's what I do best and so that's what I'm gonna do so I walked
in and there's only a few women that were there and they were all anxiously
engaged in conversation but the girl that put the event together when I
walked in she she came right over to me and introduced herself and we had met
on social media that's how I met her was through social media and I had never
met her before I we don't live in the same place like we would never cross paths
we just found each other on social media and I recognized her from her profile
picture she recognized me for my profile picture and so we introduced ourselves
to each other and started talking and I started asking her about her business and
what she does and and just all the things and she started asking me about mine
and we just started a conversation it was it was very organic and very easy
actually it really wasn't hard at all and so she introduced me to a couple of
the other women and then we just it just went from there like we just started to
get to know each other and we started to introduce each other to the people
that we were meeting and I started doing an outfit audit and an outfit audit is
just where I take what you have on right now and tell you all of the perfect
ways that it is helping you in your style the the reasons why you loved the
outfit that you put on this morning there's reasons why you like it and there
are things that it is doing for your your body and that is doing for your
emotions in your spirit and yourself confidence and there's also probably
some things that it's not really helping but you don't really know what those
are and so I always very first when I do an outfit audit I always tell you all
of the things that you're doing right and all of the ways that this outfit or
these earrings or the accessories or whatever it is what it's doing for you
because I think I don't think I know from working with hundreds of women now I
know that there are reasons that you pick what you pick but you don't really
necessarily know what those are and so I like to be the mirror that tells you
why it's working for you and why you love it so that you can then be aware of
the reasons why you love it the reasons why you like what you like and that
opens up a conversation for you to ask me all of the things that you want to
know well what about this or what about that I have this issue how do I help
this how do I fix this how do I find this how do I find that right it just
organically makes that conversation so easy and so I started doing an outfit
audit on the girl that hosted the the event and then everybody that was there
wanted an outfit audit and so I went through all of the women that were there
and did outfit audits for each of the women that were there and it was so
much fun first of all for me because I love this stuff I love to talk about
your style and clothes and seams and designs and prints and colors and I like
a geek out of all that stuff and it was so fun for the women because they
felt like they had someone that understood their struggles that understood
what their struggles were and then had some information to give them to solve
their problem to solve their struggle to give them some options to try to open
their mind up in a way that they hadn't ever seen things before and in that
moment I realized I do know some stuff that helps women out that gives them
peace the relief on their face when they would talk to me and then I would
reflect back what they said so that they understood that I understood the
relief on their faces that's why I do what I do is for that look that look of
relief on women's faces when they can see that I understand what they're going
through that is the most amazing feeling for me and I realized in that moment
they need what I have in my brain they need the information that's in my brain
and it boosted my confidence in a way that I had never really had happened
before and that whole day that whole two hours that I was there was like that
like I I just talked to all of these women and did all these outfit audits and
then the the darling adorable photographer that she has come to all of her
events we had such a great conversation she took pictures of me and they were
fabulous pictures like she took fabulous pictures she's a great job but not
only that like just our conversation and she is adorable and I just I followed
her immediately on social media and I just could not wait to see her again at
the next event to see how she was doing and she just to see what's going on in
her life and anyway I just loved all of the women that I met there I followed
them all on social media now I consider them all my friends and I could not
wait for the next event because I made such great connections there and I left
that event and the whole rest of the day and even the whole rest of the week I
was just finding myself in awe I just felt like did that actually happen did I
actually fall into this group of women that are so amazing how did that
happen and not only that the women that I'm that I'm now connecting with since
then in other groups and along with this one have been the connections that
I've needed to
reach my goals. The goals that I have for my business, for my life, for my personal development, for my spiritual development,
I am meeting these people that are supporting me in those goals. They are helping me reach those goals. They are giving me
renewed motivation. They are giving me renewed
determination. They are filling up the willpower that I have that wanes sometimes. You know, willpower doesn't stick around, but
unless you fill it, so you have to go fill up your reserves, your emotional reserves, and willpower is one of those things.
And so it has just been the coolest experience for me to watch how making these connections is making me more
confident in myself. I am seeing myself differently because of the connections that I'm making, and I'm seeing
the value that I have to bring to the table and how much it's needed. And it's giving me a lot of
motivation to show up at these events, even though I'm anxious, to show up for my networking groups
with whatever assignment that has been given to me, or that I have accepted, that makes me really nervous,
that makes me out of my comfort zone. It makes me excited to show up for those things, even though I'm
anxious, even though I'm afraid, even though it's something I've never done before. I'm excited to do
those things because of the connections that I've made, as support that I've been given, it just has
been so amazing to watch. The thing that has happened that I didn't expect, or realize, is things
have happened in my own personal life that have nothing to do with these relationships, or these
networking groups, or any of it. Like, my whole life has just been upleveled in ways that I just
can't even believe that has happened. My whole view of networking in general, whether you have a
business, or whether you don't, networking is just making friends. That's what networking is.
Networking is going out and making friends, and friendships that increase your self-confidence are the goat.
They are what this life is all about, is relationships and friendships that make you feel
like your highest self. That can mean that you are contributing at your highest level,
or that you are expanding yourself so that you can reach a higher level of growth for yourself.
What that looks like to me is I want to be my highest self so that I can help someone,
so that I can answer the call that if someone needs something that I can solve for them,
that I can help them out, I want to be at my highest self so that I can contribute.
And just this week, I had another in another networking group that I'm in, a friend that I met
through this networking group. She needed me, and she kind of got an panic, and she just texted me,
kind of in the middle of kind of like a crisis, and she was like, "Hey, what are you doing today?
Can you help me?" And I was like, "Of course. Yes. Today I don't have any real things going on.
It was a perfect day for me to read, adjust my day so that I could help her, and it was not a
problem for me at all. It was quote-unquote easy for me. It wasn't stressful for me,
but it was stressful for her to try to figure out, and I was able to help her out,
and she was so grateful for it. And I was just watching that whole situation,
and I was like, "I am in a position. I have put myself in a group. I have put myself in a position
where my strengths and the things that I can do easily was accessible to someone else."
And she didn't have those strengths. She didn't have the abilities that I have,
and those things came in really handy for her. She needed those things in that moment.
She needed those things, and she didn't have access to them.
But I did, and it was easy for me. And so when she reached out to me, I was like, "Yeah, I can
totally help you with that. Not a problem. When do you want me to be there? I am ready to go.
It'll take me 10 minutes to put some stuff together, and I'll be there." And so that even showed me
how important it is to have friendships and to have groups of people that you can align yourself with,
that can lift you up, and that can give you opportunities to lift others up as well.
Friendships increase your self-confidence. Go out and find those friendships that will increase
your self-confidence. And it is a two-part thing. You're looking for people that can help you,
and you're looking for people that you can help, because what you put out into the world comes back.
What you put out into the world will come back to you times two. I promise
the anxiety that I felt that day when I went to that networking group for the very first time
was super high. My anxiety was high, but what I gave to the group came back to me times two.
The connections and the opportunities that I have been able to have just from that one
networking event that was two hours. I can't quantify that. It has come back to me times two,
and then some. It's come back to me times ten for sure. So what you decide to put out there might
feel like a lot. It might feel hard. It might feel like it's a lot, but what will come back to you
is so much more. So if you're anxious about making friends, if you're anxious about putting
yourself in groups that are new, just do it, because what you will find is connections and opportunities
and value and support times ten that will come back to you. So go out there and find those
networking groups. And if you're local and you want to know what my networking groups are that I'm
in because you're looking for groups that match what I've described to you, then send me an email.
And I will let you know where these networking groups are because they're open. They're open for

things. And even if you want to just watch from the sidelines, you're going to want to watch because
these ladies are getting it done and going after it. So if that's interesting to you and you want to
