- That was tight. - Yeah, I get major, like, especially on the production side of it, major Kanye vibes with all of those different, like vocal samples and stuff in the beat. It's super cool. - Yeah, the instrumentals on that were, I was taking notes about things I liked, and I think the strings that they were panning, like, I don't know, something funky was going on there. - Yeah, I really liked that. - Talking about the panning, that one, like, knocking sound effect, if you listen to that in good headphones, every time I listen to this song, I know it's coming, and I still always just look over my left shoulder. - Dude. - I think that there's somebody knocking on a door. It's, like, perfectly spaced where it sounds like it's actually there. - I did the exact same thing. I thought my girlfriend got home from work early, and I was like, "Oh, what?" (laughing) - Yeah, that sounded way too realistic. - And this project is just really good. He's a really good MC, and everybody that he, everybody that he features does really well on it too. This entire project is really good. - Yeah. - I was surprised that this is one of the less popular songs on the album. - Oh, that's interesting. - Yeah, that one, like, super smooth, like, fairly catchy too. - Yeah, exactly. And like I said, that, like, early Kanye vibes, I don't know, I feel like people would flock to that still 'cause I think that it's just a super fresh sound to do that kind of like vocal chop sampling stuff like that. I love any beat that does that. - Yeah, it's exciting. - It does it well. (laughing) - It's going in some of my kickback playlist, so. - Right on. - I also think too, it's one of the few times as somebody who doesn't listen to a lot of UK British hip hop that it didn't feel jarring to listen to somebody rap with like a British accent. (laughing) Like, I don't listen to a lot of that type of music, and I was like, this one, I was like, okay, that it makes sense. Like, there's a lot of UK rappers, and I'm like, the accent just throws me as weird. - Yeah, some like drill, like rap music. - Yeah, exactly. - It can be a comical at times, but yeah, no, that was great, not too comical. - Yeah, it can just be weird hearing someone who sounds super posh talking about, you know, being doing shit in the streets or whatever. (laughing) But yeah, this one, it didn't feel jarring for me at all, so I think that that's pretty cool. - Yeah, for sure. - So what do we have up next? - Okay, up next, I have a song from another local Seattle band, another band with, that has my friends in it, they're called Cherry Tomato. - Okay. - They're like an alternative rock kind of grungy band. They have an EP coming out in the near future, I believe. And the song I'm going to share was the lead single off of that EP. Yeah, I really like this band. I actually played against them in a battle of the bands with my band, Battle Stations, a few years back. And they were-- - And did you win or lose? - Oh, I'm pretty sure we got last place, actually. (laughing) Not even kidding, 'cause it was based on like, how many fans you got to show up. - Oh, we share. - But I mean, everyone there was great. Don't get me wrong. But we had the least amount of audience showing up. But yeah, no, Cherry Tomato, great bands. They're very kind, very, very nice people. So this song is called Don't Screw Me. Oh, wait. - Where'd it go? - Unscrew me, my bad, I sound like a fake fan. - Okay. - Unscrew me by Cherry Tomato.
