Freedom: The Hour of Deliverance Session 5 - Sue Neil
from Walk Through the Word with Sue Neil
0m 0s
This teaching session on freedom focuses on understanding curses, their origins, and how they operate in believers' lives. The speaker opens with Deuteronomy 30:15-20, emphasizing that God sets before His people a clear choice between life and blessing through obedience, or death and curse through disobedience. The central message is that demons have a legal right to remain in a person's life and bloodline unless curses are broken.
The speaker explains the Hebrew word "cherem," which refers to things devoted to God or set apart for destruction. When people keep such things for themselves—as Akan did with Jericho's spoil—it becomes a curse affecting them, their families, and their nation. The tithe is also cherem, holy unto the Lord, and withholding it brings a curse according to Malachi 3. Jesus affirmed tithing in Matthew 23:23 while emphasizing justice, mercy, and faith.
Generational curses from ancestral idolatry travel to the third and fourth generations, as stated in Exodus 20:5. Those who make idols become like them—spiritually blind, deaf, unable to speak or minister effectively. Curse indicators include poverty, family breakdown, barrenness, chronic sickness, constant defeat, insanity, torment, and hindered spiritual gifts. The speaker urges honest admission of these indicators, noting that curses do not break automatically and must be addressed through deliverance.
0:10
Speaker 1
Well, I want to welcome you all to Session 5 of Freedom.
OK, Turn your Bibles, please, to Deuteronomy chapter 30
0:42
and we'll be reading from verse 15 all the way down to the end of verse 20.
See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil.
1:02
If you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, that I command you today by loving the Lord your God, by walking in His ways, and by keeping His commandments and His statutes and His rules, then you shall live and multiply.
1:23
And the Lord your God, Yahweh, your God, will bless you in the land that you are entering to take possession of.
But if your heart turns away and you will not hear, but are drawn away to worship other gods and to serve them, I declare to you today that you shall surely perish.
1:50
You shall not live long in the land that you are going over the Jordan to enter and possess.
I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse.
2:15
Therefore, choose life that you and your offspring may live, loving the Lord your God, obeying His voice and holding fast to Him.
2:32
For He is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the Lord swore to your father's, to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob to give them.
2:48
Amen to the Word of God.
We have to talk about curses.
There is a lot to teach, but I have to take my time so that you understand that demons have a.
3:12
Speaker 2
Legal right?
3:14
Speaker 1
To remain in your life and in the lives of your offspring, unless curses are broken.
Now the word curse is mentioned in the Bible over 300 times.
3:36
We can't ignore it.
We have to ask the question, is there a curse on my life?
Is there a curse on my children?
3:54
Is there a curse on my marriage?
Is there a curse on my family, my neighborhood, or even my country?
4:11
Let me start with the good news.
The good news is that through Jesus Christ and through the name of Jesus, we have the authority to cast out demons.
4:27
We have the authority to cast out demons that are behind every curse.
Provision has been made by Jesus, glory to his name.
Provision has been made by the cross of Jesus Christ for every curse to be broken and defeated and for us to have freedom.
4:53
Amen.
That's the good news, Galatians 313.
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us.
5:09
For it is written, curse is everyone who hangs on a tree.
But you have learnt by attending this church, because I've already thought on this, that it's not automatic.
5:28
It has to be appropriated.
It's not automatic.
Now there are various words used in the Old Testament for the word curse, and there are different words used in the New Testament for the word curse.
5:49
But the most frequently used Hebrew word in the Old Testament for the word curse is ara.
Ara.
And ara means to utter a wish of evil against, to call for mischief or injury, to fall upon a prayer or invocation for harm or injury, to come upon one, or to bind someone with a spell.
6:30
Curses from God are the complete opposite to covenantal blessings, and that's what we're starting with.
Curses from God, they come upon us and they enter our lives whenever we disobey God's commandments.
6:52
And we can see, and we've already read the curses listed in Deuteronomy 28, haven't we?
I'm sure we have.
For example, those are the curses and the consequences for breaking God's law.
7:17
We won't get away from it.
The reason why God wrote his law on stone was to express the fact that it can't be rubbed out.
7:33
It's firmly fixed and etched in the universe.
He could have asked Moses to get some papyrus or something like that.
There were books around at that time, but he asked for Stone for us to understand that what he is saying is no joke.
7:59
Now there is another word, another Hebrew word translated curse, and we're going to look at that.
And this is the word K R.E.M., K R.E.M., K R.E.M.
8:16
This is really important.
We need to get this one into our minds.
They're all important, but we need to pay attention to what these things mean.
K R.E.M. refers to property or nations devoted to God or set apart for destruction.
8:36
You would have seen the following words in whatever Bible translation you use.
You would have come across the words accursed thing, dedicated thing, things which should have been utterly destroyed, things or nations appointed or set apart to utter destruction, or a devoted thing or holy to the Lord.
9:04
Anything K R.E.M.
Becomes a curse to those who take them.
Becomes a curse to anyone who keeps them for themselves.
Now here are a couple of examples of this kind of K R.E.M. curse that we have already looked at.
9:23
Perhaps in the Danger in the Bloodline series, Joshua 22 verse 20 was not Akan, son of Zerah, unfaithful regarding what was set apart for destruction, bringing wrath upon the whole congregation of Israel.
9:48
Yet it was not only Akan who perished because of his sin.
For those of you who don't know where that's coming from, it's coming from a story in Joshua Chapter 7.
10:05
It tells us about a man called Akan who went to war, but he took some of the spoil.
He went to war against Jericho, but he took some of the spoil.
He thought this is this is too good to devote it to God because God had said everything in Jericho, everything there belongs to him is K R.E.M set apart for destruction?
10:37
As you can see in this verse, what I've the words that I've emboldened set apart for destruction is translated from one Hebrew word, K R.E.M.
OK.
And it became a curse to him.
10:53
The Bible tells us it became a curse to him and by association it became a curse to his family.
They suffered for it as well, and also Israel, the tribe and the whole of the nation of Israel suffered because He kept for himself what was K R.E.M. set apart unto God.
11:28
Deuteronomy 726.
This is the next example of a curse, and you shall not bring an abominable thing into your house and become devoted to destruction like it and become.
11:46
Speaker 2
K R.E.M.
Like it, you shall utterly detest and abhor it for it.
11:54
Speaker 1
Is I should have emboldened the last few words.
It is devoted to destruction.
Again, the Hebrew word behind those words is K R.E.M.
It belongs to God and for whatever purpose, He is designated for it.
12:13
Now we know an idol is an accursed thing.
Also, we know that anything else, anything that is used to promote or support the worship of another false God is accursed, and one who brings such things into their house becomes K R.E.M.
12:43
That's what happened to Akan, as well as anything else idolatrous that we bring into our house.
It's an abomination to God.
12:59
This is why we went on a cursed item hunt last year.
Do you remember we did that?
We took it so seriously.
And for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, you need to go through your house and you need to look for anything that God has prohibited, if there are any images, any kind of idol that you brought back from.
13:25
Speaker 2
Holiday that you?
13:26
Speaker 1
Thought, oh, it's just a nice statue of of a man doing this.
Anything like that?
Anything.
13:36
Speaker 2
Like that or pictures or any kind of.
13:39
Speaker 1
Ornaments.
We even went as far as to looking at patterns because witches work through Aztec and they work through.
13:47
Speaker 2
Paisley and.
13:49
Speaker 1
We went through everything.
You want to know why we didn't want anything idolatrous?
13:56
Speaker 2
In our house, because we didn't want to attract a curse.
That's why we did it.
I urge you to do the same.
That's if you believe.
14:05
Speaker 1
What we read in the opening scripture in Deuteronomy chapter 30, verses 15 to 20, that's if you believe God.
He doesn't change His mind like we do.
He's not Moody.
What he said is what he says, and what he says is what he said.
14:26
Not going to change, no room.
It's what it is.
But let me tell you about this one.
Leviticus, chapter 27, verse 30.
Every tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the trees, it is the Lord's, it is Yahweh's, it is holy to the Lord, it is.
14:52
Speaker 2
K R.E.M.
All of those words are translated from the one Greek word.
Sorry, the one Hebrew word K R.E.M.
15:04
Speaker 1
So what we just read here is the tithe, which is 10% becomes a curse to anyone who keeps it for themselves.
15:21
It's K R.E.M.
This is why we read this in Malachi chapter 3 verses 8 to 10.
This is why Yahweh says will A.
15:38
Speaker 2
Man rob God, yet you are robbing me.
But you say, how have we robbed you?
15:48
Speaker 1
In tithes and offerings you are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me the.
15:58
Speaker 2
Whole nation of you bring the whole tithe into the storehouse that there may be food in my house and.
16:07
Speaker 1
Test me now in this.
It's so kind of him test.
It belongs to Him anyway, but he's so kind.
Test me now in this says Yahweh of hosts, If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows the.
16:31
Speaker 2
Tithe is K R.E.M.
Elder Ronke, you got that for announcements next week.
The tithe is K R.E.M.
16:42
Speaker 1
It is holy unto the Lord.
It is set apart unto Him.
It is devoted to Him.
Prophet Malachi.
He spoke these words on behalf of Yahweh 430 years before Jesus came.
17:02
Jesus had something to say about the tithe also.
Matthew 2323 Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, for you pay tithe of mint and annies and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law, justice and mercy and faith.
17:29
These you ought to have done without leaving the others undone.
But you say, but we're not under the law.
17:44
That's what some Christians say.
We're not under the law.
17:51
Speaker 2
You're correct to a certain.
17:52
Speaker 1
Extent.
You're not under the ceremonial law, but you are under the law of Christ.
You're under the law of Jesus.
You're under the law of love.
18:05
Speaker 2
You're under the law of Jesus and he just spoke.
We've got to be really, really.
18:13
Speaker 1
Careful, we call him Lord, we need to make him Lord.
The Lord said if you don't want to pay attention to what the most high God said, the Lord who is the most High God said there won these you ought to have done without leaving the other one undone.
18:35
He said, yeah, you should tithe, but don't forget about what you say is more weightier to Jesus.
It's all the same.
It's not him that said that some laws are lighter and some laws are weightier.
18:54
It was the Pharisees and the Sadducees and the teachers of the law of the day that taught people that some laws are lighter and some are heavier.
Jesus is correct in that by saying you ought to have done what you call light and do the others that you call heavier seeing to justice, mercy, and faith.
19:24
But I, I, I still don't understand.
I don't really understand how what we just read, what we just read about the tithe is still applicable today.
19:46
I remind you again, I'm trying to keep things really simple so that we don't forget it.
Jesus said it.
If the prophet Malachi isn't good enough for you, Jesus said it.
20:09
Matthew 517 to 19 Do not think that I came to destroy the law, order, prophets.
I did not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Just in case you think Malachi doesn't matter.
For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not one jot or one title will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
20:43
Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men, so shall be called least in the Kingdom of heaven.
But whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the Kingdom of heaven.
21:04
Jesus is talking about rewards here.
21:07
Speaker 2
Does that mean that we have to depend on the law for?
21:10
Speaker 1
Salvation.
No.
As we've been learning in Bible study, what it means is that we have to obey the law based on Jesus interpretation of it.
21:31
That's why he's called Lord.
We've got to obey the law according to Jesus interpretation of it.
21:47
So we can't escape the curse applies.
There's just no getting away from it but.
21:55
Speaker 2
What?
What if I can't afford to pay my tithe?
This is a very good question.
What if I can't afford to pay my tithe?
We need to.
22:05
Speaker 1
Learn this about our God.
He doesn't change.
Hosea chapter 6, verse 6 For I desire steadfast love.
22:21
Speaker 2
And not sacrifice.
22:24
Speaker 1
The knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.
22:30
Speaker 2
And Jesus himself quoted this.
Do you remember?
22:34
Speaker 1
Jesus quoted Hosea.
He quoted it in Matthew chapter 12 verse 7.
But if you had known what this means, I desire mercy and not sacrifice, you would not have condemned the guiltness, he said.
22:54
But if you had known what this means, So what he was saying is you guys don't know what Hosea meant.
You don't know what the prophet meant.
Because if you did, you wouldn't have complained about my disciples picking some ears of corn because they're hungry.
23:13
God would have rendered them guiltless because God cares about our hunger.
What it means is this.
It means that.
23:23
Speaker 2
God loves us and he loves having an opportunity to demonstrate that to us.
He loves it.
He has the power.
This is this is amazing.
23:35
Speaker 1
He has the power to have mercy on us and not to implement the curse.
He can override whatever the Word has said towards US or against us.
23:55
Do you know why he can do that?
Because He is God and also He is the righteous judge of all the earth.
He's the lawgiver.
He makes the decisions.
OK, but it will be.
24:12
Speaker 2
On this basis, it will be because you are truthfully hungry, which is why you pick the ears of corn, not that you just felt peckish.
The reason why Jesus said they're guiltless.
I can see that they're hungry and I care about their rumbling tummies.
24:31
I care about the pain that they're feeling from hunger.
Same.
24:36
Speaker 1
With the tithe, if you were truthfully not in a position to tithe immediately, He will give us grace to work on that.
24:50
Speaker 2
But if you have.
24:51
Speaker 1
To work towards it, do it diligently.
Do it because God would rather have.
25:01
Speaker 2
Mercy on you.
25:04
Speaker 1
And do it also knowing that God can see what you're doing with your money.
The tithe is K R.E.M.
25:15
Speaker 2
Why am I going on about this?
Why the churches?
25:19
Speaker 1
Go on about it.
Can I tell you something?
I don't know why other churches go on about prosperity and things like that.
It's not really my thing.
25:29
Speaker 2
For as long as you've all been.
25:30
Speaker 1
Here you ought to know that by now.
25:34
Speaker 2
It's not my thing I don't preach a prosperity gospel, but what I do believe in is what the Word of God says concerning the curse.
If I'm pastoring you, I want to teach you about curse activity because the more curse activity you have, the thicker my intro, the more work I have to do.
25:59
It's easier if you're blessed.
26:01
Speaker 1
It's.
26:05
Speaker 2
True.
So don't worry about where your tithe is going.
Don't follow it.
26:13
Speaker 1
Just like you don't follow your invisible money while it's sitting in the bank.
It's invisible.
You don't even see it.
It's all digital.
And you saw what happened in the news this week, didn't you?
I posted it on WhatsApp.
26:30
Speaker 2
That AI announced that they were testing one of their agents and the agent went rogue on them and broke into the Internet.
I've read the story.
I've read what it's.
26:43
Speaker 1
About I won't.
26:44
Speaker 2
Bore you with it, but the truth is, is the.
26:47
Speaker 1
Thing developed a mind of its own and got lost into the Internet and broke into another rival AI platform at the same time.
If it's.
27:00
Speaker 2
Broken into the Internet?
If it's broken into digital world, where's your money?
Where's your money?
But God says he will rebuke the Devourer for your sake even.
27:16
Speaker 1
Though.
27:17
Speaker 2
What you have is K R.E.M.
It's entirely up to you.
In this day and age, it's entirely up to you.
But if you keep.
27:31
Speaker 1
The 10%, you're under a curse and there's nothing you can do about it until you make it right.
And even then, when you make it right, the curse has to be broken.
Did you know that has to be broken?
27:50
Has to be broken.
27:51
Speaker 2
It's the Word of God, and we're going to learn all about that today.
But do you understand that I'm sharing this for your own benefit, OK, For your own benefit, It's really important that we pay attention to what God is saying and that we don't behave like them, Ananias and Sapphira.
28:20
Speaker 1
Don't forget that the Holy Spirit is well aware of what is truth in your life and what is not.
Now you don't have to listen to anything that I've said.
28:34
Speaker 2
You don't have to.
You can reject this if you want to.
Like you reject other things, that's absolutely fine.
Totally fine.
Have you noticed that there's no in between?
It's either blessing or curse.
Have you noticed that you can't say well?
28:50
Speaker 1
I'm, I'm, I'm a little bit blessed, but I do see a little bit of curse.
No, God says it's either or either.
Don't look at the little bit of blessing.
29:03
Speaker 2
Don't look at the common blessing that other people have.
Remember, God says the rain falls on the just and on the.
Don't live by that.
29:14
Speaker 1
Because it doesn't rain every day in this country.
We've been going through a heat wave, right?
And the last time it rained was when you don't want to go by that.
29:30
OK, don't go by that.
We have been set apart to receive the blessing of Abraham.
29:39
Speaker 2
And if we're not seeing that in our life, there's a cursing operation.
It's as simple as that.
Don't confuse it with the common blessing.
Like I said, you can reject it, as I said.
29:55
But what progress can you get with Deliverance?
29:59
Speaker 1
If the devil can go to the courts of heaven and argue a spiritual criminal case against you, what is the point in going through deliverance?
And this is a deliverance season for the church, as you know, for those who need it, let me say, for those who have requested it.
30:18
Speaker 2
What is the point in going through everything we're going through if he can say Elot can do what you want?
I've already got you.
I've got you with the tithe.
30:28
Speaker 1
The same word that is releasing us is the same word that can keep us bound.
30:51
Ephesians 427 do not give the devil a foothold.
Don't hand it to him on a plate.
31:06
Speaker 2
This is why Jesus said in advance, look, just because you're going to see me get beaten, they're going to pull out my beard.
31:14
Speaker 1
They're going to arrest me and they're going to ultimately crucify me.
Don't think that they had a legal right to do this.
Don't think that Satan had that right.
31:32
Don't think that this is curse activity going on.
31:38
Speaker 2
Don't think that John 1430 I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming.
He has nothing in me.
Jesus had to say that because what he experienced, as the Bible teaches us, was a curse.
31:56
Remember we read in Galatians 313.
Cursed is a man that hangeth on the tree.
If you get arrested and you get beaten up and you get this and that and that, that's not a blessing.
But Jesus had to explain, look, you're going to see me look like Satan has a place in my life and that I was actually a a Sinner on the side that I was actually harbouring personal sin that you guys didn't know about.
32:23
It's going to look like that because of what I'm going to go through.
But actually the truth is He has nothing in me is I that is choosing to lay down my life for the sins of the world.
No man takes it from me.
32:39
Isn't that what he said?
And you know, the whole mission was that He would come as a man to redeem us from the penalty of sin.
But what he went through, if you consider his entire life, He didn't look blessed.
32:57
Come on, He didn't.
Isaiah 53 talks about it, but let me not let me not go down there.
We need to get to a place where we can say that the devil has no place in me.
33:16
Did everyone hear what I said?
We all need to get to that place where we can say the devil has nothing in me.
Let me ask you an honest question and answer the question quietly within your heart.
33:34
Does the devil have something in you?
33:49
And if he does have something in you, it's as literal as a member of his Kingdom.
You get it.
It's very important that we pay attention.
34:05
Speaker 1
To the word of God.
34:06
Speaker 2
And to the season that we're in.
But can a spirit filled Christian be under a curse?
Can a?
34:17
Speaker 1
Spirit filled Christian be under a curse if it is possible for a spirit filled.
34:26
Speaker 2
Christian to have a demon, it has to be possible for the spirit filled Christian to also be able to be under a curse.
Why?
Because what empowers the curse is demonic.
34:43
Speaker 1
Have.
34:49
Speaker 2
You ever considered that God allows evil spirits to enter our lives in order to put the curse into effect?
35:05
Now, there are other types of curses we've just spoken about.
35:13
Speaker 1
The K R.E.M.
Curse and we've briefly talked about things that are accursed.
35:22
Speaker 2
I want to show you some others.
We've looked at the K R.E.M. curse.
We've looked at the accursed things curse.
35:37
Then there are generational curses or inherited curses.
Can be a mixture of both, or it can just be separate witchcraft curses.
36:00
Speaker 1
Personal sin curses.
There's a lot going on here, isn't it?
And we're going to move on to generational curses.
36:17
What I'm.
36:17
Speaker 2
Hoping to do is to get through all of them.
It's really important that I stop to teach this.
It's important for those of you who are part of the sessions after the service to know what we're doing when I'm speaking about curses.
36:35
It was the Holy Spirit that stopped me last week and said you've got to teach them on this.
And I think I announced it to you guys that I do have to teach on it because you will have no faith in what you're doing if you don't understand what you're doing.
If you don't understand that it's literally lodged legally in your life, you're not going to have the faith that you need to have to join me in breaking it.
37:01
Are you with me?
But now you will, right now you will.
Now you're going to be like, OK, because you understand that God's word is settled.
OK, So we're moving on to generational curses and sometimes inherited curses because they're generational.
37:23
Ah, sorry, one more.
There's word curses as well.
Yeah, word curses.
Oh boy, there's so much we're going to get through in Jesus name.
37:42
Exodus chapter 20, verses 3 to 6.
You shall have no other gods before me.
You shall not make for yourself a carved image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
38:02
You shall not bow down to them or serve them.
For I the Lord am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the 3rd and the 4th generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my.
38:24
Speaker 1
Commandments.
38:28
Speaker 2
Anyone else agree with Deaconess Hayes there?
I say Amen.
I say Amen.
Look, you only agree if you open your mouth and say Amen.
Otherwise, who's to know if you agree or not?
Let me tell you how important the Amen is.
38:44
After you say, after you read a blessing in the Word of God.
There were two mountains.
You can read about this in the book of Deuteronomy.
No, you said Deuteronomy.
I can't remember actually so I won't try and guess.
Two mountains, Mount Gerizim and Mount Evil. 6 tribes out of 12 had to stand while representatives had to stand.
39:10
Speaker 1
On.
39:11
Speaker 2
One mountain and six of the other, and curses were read out on Mount Evil.
Blessings were read out on Mount Gerizim.
Guess what the congregation had to say after they were all read?
39:28
Amen.
That's there to teach us that you signed a contract of agreement.
And I've preached this already.
Sorry, I sound like a broken record.
I've spoken about this already.
You declare your agreement for the blessing to come upon you.
39:45
Or that you understand that the curse would come upon you by Amen.
You've got no pen, have you?
You've got no ink.
But what you have is your mouth.
That's why the congregation repeated Amen.
40:01
So let me read verse 6 again of Exodus chapter 20.
But God will show steadfast love to thousands of those who love Him and keep His commandments.
Amen.
40:17
Even when you're reading your Bible by yourself, enter into agreement with God and say Amen.
Praise the Lord.
OK, so how would we know what curses need to be broken if we don't know what our ancestors did?
40:38
Because we're talking about generational curses here.
How would we know?
Even if we don't know what our ancestors did for certain, it's wise to confess their religious sins based on what the Internet tells you.
41:02
It's wise to.
You can find out a whole load of information on there.
For instance, I did a quick search on what or who people were worshipping 200 years ago. 18126 I did my best in the West Indies.
41:25
The enslaved populations were forced into the face of other colonizers.
The British islands like Jamaica and Grenada enforced Anglicism was, for they were forced into becoming Anglicans while the French and the Spanish islands enforced Catholicism.
41:41
Enslaved people.
This is what we need to pay attention to.
Enslaved people kept their ancestral spiritualities alive in secret.
Introducing Obia and Maya in Jamaica.
41:56
Take note of that.
According to what we read in Exodus chapter 20 verse 5, take note of what God considers another God before him.
42:12
In Spain they were Roman Catholic.
In 1826 Protestantism, Judaism or Islam was prohibited in Cuba.
42:27
Enslaved W Africans, predominantly Yoruba from modern day Nigeria, arrived in Cuba.
42:34
Speaker 1
To preserve.
42:34
Speaker 2
Their faith.
They began disguising their African deities, Arishas, behind the imagery of Catholic Saints, introducing the religion known as Santeria.
I can tell you that they hid Yamaya, or the Queen of the River.
42:53
What's her name?
Is it Oshun?
What's her name?
Or is it Yamaya?
I can't remember her name.
The one that Beyoncé dresses up as.
What's her name?
I can't.
43:09
What?
What did you say?
It was Ocean, right?
Or ocean right?
OK.
They've hidden Ocean behind Mary, the Virgin Mary.
So that gave them license to do what they were doing.
43:24
OK.
So if your ancestors are from Cuba, you understand what you need to confess before God.
OK.
Nigeria, the North was governed by Sharia law.
This is 1826200 years ago.
43:41
In the South, the Yoruba kingdom's worship the Orishas, Olu Domeri shango yemaya.
If I said it wrong, allow me IBO IBO IBO people in the southeast practiced Odinani, worshipping the supreme creator, Chuku and various earth spirits.
44:07
The Edo people worshipped the supreme God called Osanobua and Olukhan the God of the.
44:14
Speaker 1
Sea.
44:15
Speaker 2
They also worshipped whoever was king, viewing him as a living deity and representative of their ancestors.
Anyone with any Nigerian heritage in them?
Your ancestors were committing idolatry.
44:36
Anyone from Ghana in here?
No Ghanaians.
Oh wow, Traditional Akan religion was practiced 200 years ago.
The Akan people worshipped a supreme distant creator God named Nyame.
44:54
Is that right?
Nyame, Thank you.
45:01
Speaker 1
Oh.
45:02
Speaker 2
You guys have mercy on me.
45:06
Speaker 1
While.
45:06
Speaker 2
Actively praying to lesser deities at bosom and ancestral spirits through local shrines.
Islam was practiced in the north.
If your cultural heritage is from Ghana, They were committing idolatry in God's eyes.
45:29
Are you following me so far?
There are other curses beside the generational curse that travels, but we're concentrating on this for today.
45:47
Now remember, please, that the Holy Spirit is capable of revealing the cause of ancestral curses, and so is the Internet, and so is your grandparents.
If they're still alive for you to talk to.
So is your mother.
46:02
So is your father.
They're able to tell you.
46:05
Speaker 1
What went on?
46:06
Speaker 2
Now, we spent a lot of time last year looking into this also.
Do you remember?
Well, some of us did, some didn't.
Some didn't think it was important, but maybe this year they'll see how important it is.
Now, even if we can't find out any information, I can tell you someone who can reveal it, and that's the Holy Spirit.
46:29
And I said He can reveal things through either a word of knowledge or because someone has the gift of discernment.
That's why it's important not to forsake the gathering of the brethren, because one of those brethren may possess the gift and it may be revealed to them.
46:48
If the Internet can't tell you anything, God can reveal what type of curse is either on your life or following you or is in the bloodline.
Well, that's one of the reasons why Satan doesn't want you to be with the gathering.
So you don't hear from the body.
47:08
Makes sense.
He may speak through one of his vessels who have that gift.
Some of us have already just experienced His help in this regard.
Some of us in here have had a word of knowledge.
47:24
Glory be to God for speaking to us.
Glory be to God for speaking to us.
I say again, glory be to God for speaking to us.
He's even spoken through dreams.
47:40
Glory be to God for speaking to us.
He loves us.
He wants to help us.
But if you want to isolate yourself, how is He supposed to get through to you if you don't have His to hear?
47:57
But even if he doesn't reveal it to you, you can tell if curses are in operation by the effects.
Deuteronomy chapter 28 verses 15 to 68 tells us all about it.
But we're not going to look at the Scripture today.
We're just going to look at the effects.
48:13
That can be summarised as follows.
Poverty.
48:21
Speaker 1
Or in a modern way of understanding it, constant lack breakdown of.
48:28
Speaker 2
Family relationships, including trouble with children, constant strife.
We talked about this last week.
48:44
It's recorded in James chapter 316.
If there is constant strife in your home, it is evidence of demonisation.
Barrenness, including male impotency and female complications.
49:12
Hereditary diseases and chronic sickness.
Failure with plans and projects.
49:28
Constant defeat.
49:36
Speaker 1
Going from.
49:37
Speaker 2
One crisis to another humiliation.
50:01
Is there any more?
50:02
Speaker 1
Yes, unfortunately.
Insanity.
Torment.
50:18
Speaker 2
Perpetual traumas.
50:37
Spiritual hindrances.
50:42
Speaker 1
Including sensing God's presence and hearing his voice is evidence of.
50:52
Speaker 2
Curse activity in your life.
A lack of spiritual gifts.
51:13
Speaker 1
Is evidence of curse activity in your life?
51:27
Speaker 2
Even if you didn't get a chance to write it all down, you can read it for yourself.
All I've done was summarize them, but you can read them all for yourself in Deuteronomy chapter 28 verses 15 to 68.
Now I have already shared, if you were particularly surprised by the last two spiritual hindrances, including sensing God's presence and hearing his voice, or a lack of spiritual goods, first of all, you might take umbrage to it.
51:56
You might think, no, no, no, I, I know when His presence is there.
I know.
And I, I do hear his voice.
I do, I do.
I'd I'd take this opportunity to just hear what God is saying on the subject.
That's what I would do and I would just forget about what I thought I heard and what I thought I knew.
52:15
Apostle Paul would do this sometimes and just admit to knowing nothing, but Jesus Christ and Him crucified sometimes know nothing so you can learn.
52:26
Speaker 1
All right.
52:27
Speaker 2
I try to follow that as much as as possible, which is why I try to preach nursery.
I try to do it from nursery level because I don't know.
But I've already shared, haven't I, that demons hinder your ability to become effective Christians, have I not?
52:45
And that it also must then include your spiritual gifts.
If they have access to you like that, then they can cloud things over.
But I'm going to take you through the Word of God now, because you will never doubt this again.
53:07
Psalm 115, verses 1 to 8.
Not unto us, oh Yahweh, not unto us, but to Your name.
Give glory for the sake of Your steadfast love and Your faithfulness.
53:26
Amen.
We give you glory, Lord.
Why should the nation say, where is their God?
Our God is in the heavens.
He does all that He.
53:38
Speaker 1
Pleases.
Their idols are silver and gold, the work of human hands.
They have mouths.
53:49
Speaker 2
But do not speak eyes but do not see They have ears but do not.
53:58
Speaker 1
Hear.
54:00
Speaker 2
Noses but do not smell.
They have hands but do not feel feet, but they do not walk and they do not make a sound.
54:13
Speaker 1
In their throat, those who make them become like them.
So do.
54:22
Speaker 2
All who trust in them.
Amen to the word of God.
All right, now let's read verse 8 again.
Having agreed that our near ancestors, grandparents and distant ancestors, those who were around 200 years ago were worshipping other gods, do we agree those who make them become like them?
54:58
So do all who trust in them.
We read in the Word of God in Exodus 20 verse five that that curse travels.
Hello anyone?
It travels to the third and 4th generation.
55:13
And you know, you can't really look at that because it means it's perpetual.
It would have stopped by now.
It was only for the four generations after the original people started worshiping other gods.
It's perpetual.
That means that if that curse has travelled into your life, you are like them.
55:34
You are like idols.
You have become like an idol.
What do you mean?
What do you mean possess verse 5.
Let's go back to verse 5.
They have mouths but do not speak.
55:49
Eyes but do not see.
Remember what verse 8 says.
Those who make them become like them.
Remember that OK, idols have mouths, but they cannot speak.
This would mean that there would be a hindrance to your spiritual gifts pertaining to your mouth.
56:11
Any spiritual gift that needs your mouth.
Do you understand what I'm saying?
I don't want to name them all because it's quite obvious that we need our mouths to share the gospel.
It's quite obvious, and an evangelist needs their mouth.
And what about the fact that you could have been praying for the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which involves speaking in tongues?
56:33
It won't happen even if someone prays for you, even if someone lays their hand upon you for you to receive it.
It won't happen if that curse is living large in your life because verse 8 has to come to pass.
Those who make them become like them.
56:57
We got to pay attention to the fact that we find it easier to text rather than to open our mouths to say something to people.
It's become far too convenient.
But perhaps we can't.
Perhaps it's easier to bless by text because perhaps you can't do it.
57:18
Have a think about that.
Perhaps you can't do it.
Why?
Because idols have mouths, but they cannot.
I'm sorry if I'm being a little real here.
I want you to consider the conversations you have after a service.
57:36
How much time do you spend talking about what you've learnt?
What is your conversation?
What is it about?
Is there any mention?
Consider this.
You may not be able to consider it, will you?
57:55
There are certain people who are able to.
You can always tell, but consider this, It may not be down to you what your conversation is about.
It might be because you can't pull it out, it can't come out of you.
Your mouth is closed because the curse is running through your bloodline stating that idols have mouth but they cannot speak.
58:19
The root cause, according to the word of God is that generational curse running through the bloodline, the curse for idolatry, the root cause of the occult.
By the way, the occult is another term for idolatry.
58:35
Going to the source of another rather than God to satisfy one's desires is idolatry, and it's a cultish.
Verse 6 says they have is but do not hear.
58:52
Is but do not hear.
Do I need to explain that one to you?
59:08
Do I need to?
I think I've jumped one.
I want to talk about the eyes.
Oh, there you go.
Eyes, but do not see.
That's first Five Eyes, but do not see.
59:23
The idolater is spiritually blinded.
He can't perceive spiritual things.
Idols have ears but cannot hear.
Many Christians are unable to hear the voice of God.
And I showed you that it's one of the results of curse activity that Deuteronomy 28 lists.
59:45
Many Christians are unable to hear the voice of God.
Just think about the last time you heard from God.
Jesus said My sheep hear my voice.
This is not a criticism.
This is not condemnation.
1:00:01
It's for you to consider whether or not there is a generational curse operating in your bloodline.
1:00:10
Speaker 1
Idols have what's next noses, but they.
1:00:19
Speaker 2
Do not smell.
Do you know we're supposed to sometimes be able to smell the Lord's presence?
Do you know that the Lord has a fragrance?
I have shared this with you before.
1:00:36
The Lord has a fragrance.
Psalm 45 verse 8 says your robes are all fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia.
Why would the Word of God tell us that if it wasn't possible sometimes to smell the Lord?
1:00:55
Sometimes I tell you what, Go back into a room that you've spent time praying and worshipping God in.
Go go into that room.
You will smell something.
You will feel a different atmosphere, true or false.
1:01:14
For anyone who's walked into a room where anyone has been praying, or if you've been praying and you go back in, it's completely different to the other rooms in the house.
Those with noses who cannot smell are unaware of the Lord's presence.
1:01:32
Even if there is no smell, they just can't sense it.
They can't perceive it.
Did you know that demons are sometimes discerned through smell?
I'm going to tell you something and then I want is Rose in here?
1:01:49
Rose, come down here.
Here she comes.
All right, Come, darling, I need you.
Thank you.
Thank you so much, Rosie.
Thank you for coming to to do this for me.
I'm sharing with everyone that demons.
1:02:09
Demons are sometimes discerned through smell.
I want to show you all demons most commonly give off a foul, nauseating stench.
Exorcists, demonologists and paranormal researchers and deliverance ministers frequently report sense of rotten flesh, sulphur, rotten eggs, ammonia and faeces.
1:02:33
However, some practitioners suggest malevolent entities sometimes emit burning or metallic odours in order to induce terror.
In our deliverance session last week, Go ahead Rose.
1:02:49
So we were praying.
It was in the beginning of when you started praying.
And I remember sitting there and I was smelling something and for a split second I thought Oh no, it's my breath.
But it wasn't my breath.
1:03:05
It was so it was so smart.
I've never smelt before.
And it was travelling, so I was sitting at the front and it was it.
It's almost like when someone wears perfume and they walk past you and you have a width of the smell.
1:03:20
But it was a bad smell.
And I remember, remember that happening.
And then more things happened afterwards.
And I had to message you because like I said, there's not a smell that I smelled before.
And it was very foul.
1:03:37
Thank you, Rose.
Thank you.
Now, those of you who are part of our deliverance session that takes place after the service for this season, you know that there has been manifestations, OK?
But I wanted Rose to be encouraged.
1:03:55
I wanted her to know that her deliverance session is real.
What she's going through is real, and God allowed it to manifest in the way that it did.
So she can be encouraged that Jesus is performing a miracle in her life.
1:04:13
Praise the Lord.
1:04:21
Speaker 1
Praise God, let me get it off that.
1:04:29
Speaker 2
Slide.
It's not nice, is it?
It's not nice.
This is better.
Your robes are all fragrant with myrrh and aloes and Cassie, wouldn't you prefer to smell that?
1:04:40
Speaker 1
Well, that's what.
1:04:41
Speaker 2
God wants us to be able to smell, but just know that the others carry a smell sometimes.
Where?
1:04:48
Speaker 1
Are we up to now?
Idols have.
1:04:54
Speaker 2
Hands.
They have hands but do not feel they cannot handle.
The hands represent ministry.
The hands on the plow, hands that cannot handle, they cannot feel.
1:05:11
It means they're hindered in ministry.
That's what it means.
Idols have feet but do not walk.
This is why the psalmist is going through all of this, because he pronounced that those who make them become like them.
So if the original idolatry in your bloodline became like them, that's the curse that travels.
1:05:34
OK, they have feet but do not walk.
This is a reference to 1's ability to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Remember, it's like the.
1:05:46
Speaker 1
Beautiful feet of those who bear the gospel.
What do you think of this SO?
1:05:53
Speaker 2
Far and they do not make a sound in their throat.
Don't accept not being able to worship God, don't accept not being able to say Amen.
1:06:18
Don't resemble an idol.
Don't keep your mouth shut.
They can't do anything, those who make them.
1:06:37
Speaker 1
Become like them.
1:06:42
Speaker 2
This scripture is a reference to prove that we should have beautiful feet and feet are supposed to move.
Just take just take a note of the Scripture.
I'm going to move on really quickly.
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation?
1:07:00
Who even says to Zion your God reigns?
Can you say that today?
Those who make them become like them.
I made this slide really big so you can understand that the demons have the power to control what kind of Christian you are.
1:07:29
They can control how much of the Holy Spirit you can demonstrate, and this is in accordance to the Word of God.
And this has happened because of our distant ancestors and our ancestors now and relatives now.
1:07:56
Speaker 1
But I didn't do anything.
1:07:58
Speaker 2
You're saying I didn't do anything?
What's this curse doing on me?
I didn't do it.
You didn't do it.
1:08:05
Speaker 1
We are not responsible for their sins, but we are affected.
1:08:10
Speaker 2
By them, my family and I might say my family.
I'm talking about my household.
My household and I are still uncovering spiritual adultery being committed by near relatives.
1:08:29
Up until two months ago, we were finding things out.
1:08:34
Speaker 1
True or fools?
1:08:36
Speaker 2
Now think about what God says about that.
1:08:40
Speaker 1
Look at the.
1:08:41
Speaker 2
Curse, it carries.
So excuse me, if I've got to get involved with breaking curses, it is a must.
It is a must.
Satan is not going to go into the courts of heaven and say righteous charge of all the earth.
1:08:58
You have to do what's righteous.
You have to do what's right.
There is a very near relative in Pastiche's family that practices worshipping another God.
You have to ensure that the curse settles.
1:09:16
Oh no, because through Jesus Christ the curse can be broken.
Amen.
But what if I'm not aware?
It doesn't break itself.
1:09:33
Do we understand?
And don't say, oh, the blood of Jesus will cover me.
The blood.
No, no, no, no, no, no, it doesn't work like that.
It doesn't work like that.
You need to take this seriously.
Put your hand up.
If you're taking this seriously today, good, glad to hear it.
1:09:52
Praise the Lord.
What I advise you to do is to admit to spiritual hindrances.
Admit to spiritual hindrances.
Don't pretend.
God can't help you if you pretend.
1:10:09
Admit to spiritual hindrances.
The curse and demons sent to put them into effect have the power to hinder our prayer life, Have the power to say whether or not we go Bible study or not.
No, no, no.
That's my decision.
That's what you think.
1:10:24
That's what you thought, but the Word of God has shown you otherwise.
If they're controlling your feet, they can tell you where you're going to go.
1:10:40
We got to keep it real.
They can hinder you hearing God's voice.
They can hinder you reading your Bible.
Come on now, we all know that one.
You all know about the spirit of slumber.
Did you hear that spirit?
1:10:57
Spirit, they can do these things, especially if the curse is roaming through your bloodline.
And I think the worst part is they can hinder the manifestation of your spiritual gifts that that's the annoying bit.
1:11:17
How are we supposed to experience the Kingdom of God here on earth if they're living their Kingdom through us?
The Kingdom of God is righteousness, joy and peace in the Holy Ghost.
1:11:32
Do we have that?
Don't answer.
Just stay silent.
Now I now I want your silence.
I don't want to hear the answer to that.
I want you to understand why that is.
I'll say it again, the.
1:11:46
Speaker 1
Kingdom of God.
1:11:49
Speaker 2
Is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost now?
What about the other Kingdom?
That's a different thing and it will manifest differently.
You can work that out yourself.
1:12:04
Only one Kingdom will be in operation in you at a time.
There's no point in me taking you through curse breaking prayers.
1:12:20
No point whatsoever in me going through loads of curse breaking prayers.
Unless you admit to seeing curse indicators in your life or in your children's life, or just admit that God's word is true whether you can see it or not, accept that it's true.
1:12:46
Amen.
Amen.
Be on His side and I'll say this to you.
If you're embarrassed to admit it to me, then I urge you to find another deliverance minister.
No, I'm being serious.
1:13:02
Speaker 1
But whatever you do, don't chill with demons.
It's selfish.
Did you?
I said it's selfish.
1:13:12
Speaker 2
Why is it selfish?
I'm just just living my life and keep you know why it's selfish?
Because as soon as you pass, they have the legal right to go to your descendants.
It's selfish.
1:13:29
They have the legal right to look for another home.
It stays in the family.
Doesn't the inheritance stay in the family?
Don't you get what your dad left after he passed?
Well, you get the spiritual too.
You will get that too, because God says that it travels the bloodline.
1:14:02
We're ending here.
Podcast Summary
Key Points:
Deuteronomy 30
The Hebrew word "cherem" refers to things devoted to God or set apart for destruction, and keeping such things for oneself brings a curse, as illustrated by Akan's sin in Joshua 7.
The tithe is cherem—holy and set apart unto the Lord—and withholding it brings a curse, as stated in Malachi 3 and affirmed by Jesus in Matthew 23:23.
Jesus redeemed believers from the curse of the law by becoming a curse on the cross, but this freedom must be actively appropriated, not assumed as automatic.
Generational curses from ancestral idolatry travel to the third and fourth generations, and those who make idols become like them—spiritually blind, deaf, and unable to speak or minister effectively.
Curse indicators include poverty, family breakdown, barrenness, chronic sickness, constant defeat, insanity, torment, and hindered spiritual gifts such as speaking in tongues or hearing God's voice.
The Holy Spirit, the Internet, and living relatives can reveal ancestral sins, and curses must be broken through deliverance because they are legally lodged in a person's bloodline.
Admit honestly to spiritual hindrances and curse indicators rather than pretending, because demons can control how effective a Christian becomes and can pass to descendants if left unbroken.
Summary:
FAQs
'Cherem' refers to property or nations devoted to God or set apart for destruction. Unlike 'ara,' which means to utter a wish of evil or bind someone with a spell, 'cherem' becomes a curse to anyone who takes or keeps for themselves what belongs to God.
Not necessarily. God desires mercy over sacrifice (Hosea 6:6), and if you are truthfully unable to tithe, He gives grace to work toward it diligently. The key is that your inability must be genuine, not an excuse.
You can research historical records online, ask living grandparents or parents, or rely on the Holy Spirit who reveals hidden things through word of knowledge, discernment, or dreams. Being part of a church gathering also helps, as others with spiritual gifts may receive revelation for you.
