Speaker 2up in your eminence. Thank you for your eminence. In Jesus' name, the Son of God, Amen. Come and please be seated.
Speaker 1Hallelujah. Praise God. Freedom from oppressive thoughts. So turn with me to the book of 2 Corinthians, chapter 10. We are reading from verse 3. Not war after the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalted itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. Hallelujah. Praise God. Now, verse 3 begins by saying, For though we walk in the flesh. Now, what does it mean to say we walk in the flesh? He's talking about the human life. Because we have human bodies. That is our domicile, our tabernacle. The human life. You see. So, though we walk humanly, though we walk in the flesh, he says, we do not war after the flesh. He's saying that we are not fighting physically. We are working physically, humanly, but our fight is not physical. Praise God. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh. Now, amazing Apostle Paul used the word war. We do not war after the flesh. Now, this word war in the Greek is actually in the present indicative middle tense. Present indicative middle. You know what it means? It means we are constantly warring. Now, what it means is that present tense in the Greek, as I said the other day, is an action in the present tense in a continual fashion. It is continuous, progressive, constant, always happening. Indicative means it's a statement of fact. It is a fact. So, that means we are always warring. He says, though we walk in the flesh, we do not war. It's a constant battle. So, present indicative middle. Middle voice means that actually if you engage in this war, it is for your advantage. It is for your benefit and profit. You get engaged in this kind of war. That is the Greek middle voice. Hallelujah. So, as you are here, you are seated listening to me, you are warring. When you get into your kitchen, you are at war. In your bedroom, there is a war. When you are driving, there is a war. When you are walking on the street, there is war. You are in a battle. I'm sure you are thinking, what kind of battle is this? What is he talking about? Because Apostle Paul is talking about something that is constantly happening. So, as you are listening to me, you are actually fighting. When we close, you will be in a battle. When you are eating, you are battling. Hallelujah. But, which kind of war am I talking about? It doesn't mean that wherever you go, Satan will bind you. When you are eating, Satan will be loosed. But, when you are eating, break. Every now and then, I bind you. That would be a life of restlessness. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm not talking about constantly casting out devils, engaging Satan. No. What kind of war is he talking about? The next verse. For the weapons of our warfare. The weapons of our warfare. The weapons of our military engagement are not physical. They are not carnal. He's saying the weapons we are using are not katalases. We are not using AK-47. We are not using spears and swords. We are not fighting physically. Okay. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal. Now, these weapons, what are they? The weapons of our warfare are actually. biblical truth, sound biblical doctrines, sound doctrines of the Bible. When the Bible speaks of the full armor of God, it talks about the helmet of salvation. That is the truth concerning our salvation. The breastplate of righteousness speaks of the truth concerning our righteousness in Christ. So, all of the armory are actually truth in the word. The weapons of our warfare are not physical. They are not carnal. They are warfare. So, we are in a war. We are in a warfare. Praise God. But many Christians are ignorant of the kind of warfare we find ourselves in. What is this warfare? So, when we speak of warfare, understand this. When the Bible speaks of warfare, there's a difference between spiritual warfare and casting out demons. The warfare he speaks of is different from casting out devils. Expelling and dispelling devils. They are different. Now, casting out demons is the easiest thing to do as a Christian. To cast out demons and spirits is as easy as speaking in tongues. It is stress-free. In fact, Jesus says that the first sign that will follow the believer is that he will cast out devils. The first sign. He says, these signs shall follow them that believe me. Then he said, in my name, they shall what? Cast out devils. They will expel devils. So, the first sign to follow a believer is to cast out devils. It's the easiest thing. Now, casting out devils is not always, come out, come out, lose him. No, it is using your word of authority to stop the powers of darkness from operating. Praise God. So, either in proximity you are dealing with an issue, or at a distance you are nullifying the operation of demons. It is so easy. In the name of Jesus, on your lips, we'll handle the situation. But this is not what the Bible talks when we refer to spiritual warfare. Hallelujah. What is that all about? Remember the Bible says in Ephesians 6, verse 11, that put on the whole armor of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Then he said, For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual wickedness in high places. But in verse 11, he shows us how these spirits operate. He says, Put on the whole armor of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles. Say the wiles. The word is methodias. Now, the wiles speaks of the schemes, the tricks. The schemes, the stratagems, it deals with the mind. The mind. The mind. His tricks. His tricks. His schemes. His methods, stratagems. Primarily, all has to do with the mind. The word wiles. Then we go to 2 Corinthians, chapter 2, verse 11. lest Satan should get an advantage. of us for we are not ignorant of his devices so we have wows then we have devices the word devices no matter is where we get a word now who's like me call it news no us is the word for mind so the word devices in the Greek literally is the word for deceived mind it is the word for mind games mind games deceived mind mind games so Satan's devices all has to do with the battlefield the place of the warfare we are talking about it's in the mind deceived mind mind games that is where his wows are that is why I said we are always in battle because all of the battle deals with our mind praise God the mind so the forces of darkness what you do is that the attack the mind it has to do with your thoughts life the mind that is the highest place of warfare losing losing and casting and binding is simple but a place where the war is waged it's actually mental in the mind and many are ignorant of that praise God and when we get to our anchor scripture it says that for the weapons of our warfare are not are not canal but they are mighty through God to the pulling down of what strong holes and what what does he see casting down imaginations so we have imaginations the very things you image in your image in casting down imaginations and every proud argument that opposes or exalt itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought so we have the imaginations and we have thoughts do you get it so this is the place of our war the weapons of our warfare are not canal then he speaks of casting down the weapons of our warfare some biblical truth they can cast down imaginations and they can also cause to bring every thought to the obedience of Christ praise God see imaginations now understand that imaginations are when you processed thoughts now thoughts are like raw materials your thoughts are like raw materials and they are processed into imaginations the realm of imaginations is the realm of where you have mental pictures yeah if I do I'm to ask you how did you get to your house I'm telling you that you get into your imagination and you have mental pictures had the way to your house that's the power of imagination now the word imagine in the Hebrew is the same word for the word meditate in the book of Psalm 1 chapter 1 and chapter 2 the Bible says that but his delight is in the law of the Lord and in his Lord doth he meditate what day and night the word meditate now when you go to Psalm 2 verse 1 Psalm 2 verse 1 it says that why do the hidden rage and the people imagine a vain thing so the word imagine in chapter 2 and the word meditate in chapter 1 are the same Hebrew word the same word so imagination is meditation it's meditation yeah to imagine something you spend time processing your thoughts as raw materials until you begin to have mental pictures the things you image yourself in according to the law of first mention in the English Bible the very first time the word imagination is used and the very first time the word thoughts the word thought is used the very first time where the word heart is used they all fall in the same verse Genesis Genesis 6 verse 5 the very first time this words are used and God saw the wickedness of man that it was great upon the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of their hearts see the words imagination of the thought that means that imagination comes from our thoughts you see imaginations are from our thoughts when you dwell and nature your thoughts they become imaginations amazingly the word the imagination it's like how many of you know clay do clay do or play do have you ever played with one before but you are adults you see when you take clay do and you squeeze the clay and form an image a shape out of the clay do you see some can use clay do to make cars and images that process of formation is the word imagination it is squeezing your thoughts and out of your thoughts as raw material you begin to form images so in the Hebrew Bible the word imagination is first used in Genesis 2:7 when God took clay and formed man the word form is the Hebrew word for imagination so your imaginations are actually formations so God took clay and squeezed clay and formed man out of the clay and the same way you can dwell on your thoughts and dwell on it as you dwell and nature those thoughts you know what happens you are forming substances you are forming imageries out of the thoughts so imaginations are formations that is why we say your imagination is as good as the creation of it never despise thoughts thoughts are substances thoughts are tangible spiritually tangible they are seat of life thoughts if you allow your thoughts that's depressive thoughts for a while it becomes an imagination and it starts manifesting in your life very powerful researchers have proved that subatomic atoms have changed their forms just by thinking just by the thoughts that they have been able to prove that thoughts are so powerful that they can change your environment your thoughts affect your environment and whatever you set your mind to think upon its attract its very kind its effect and reflect your your in your environment so your thoughts attract its kind whatever you set your mind to think on it's like an attraction it affects and attract it can its kind let me give an example if your thoughts are full of wickedness what happens is that you begin to attract wicked people around you if your thoughts are happy thoughts before you realize everyone coming around you you are attracting happy people that is what researchers this is even discovered in science but it is true in scriptures yeah as he thinketh in his heart so is he thoughts are powerful that is why the bible the bible speaks of the word of god that it it is a designer of the hearts of the thoughts and the intents of the heart god's word is so powerful that it can design make a distinction between thoughts and tells you which thoughts to disengage and which thoughts to actually employ that there are certain thoughts when it comes you have to disengage there are certain thoughts you have to employ and receive we have the power to disengage thoughts but when you accept and embrace those thoughts it becomes imaginations if your thoughts is full of frustration after a while you begin to attract frustrated people around you and you your thoughts is able to create first frustrating circumstances around you that's a part of the thoughts subatomic atoms change their forms just by thinking there's such energy that comes from the thoughts so if you dwell on it constantly things are happening yeah that is why the Bible says whatsoever whatsoever things are just whatsoever things are honest whatsoever things are lovely whatsoever things are of good report to think on these because if you think on those things you begin to attract circumstances of such kind and even people of such kind but if your thoughts are always last four thoughts last four thoughts it will attract last four things it will attract pornography movies it will attract pictures of her naked woman and it also attracts and lasts for people around you that's the energy the thought produces so researchers have proved that such thoughts thoughts produces your kind and attract its kind and it they reflect and attract what they are like that's amazing praise God the weapons of our warfare are not carnal so we are battling because I can't tell what you are what you are struggling with in your thoughts but I want to teach you by God's Word how you can employ God's weapons to disengage them so you can have success in life God's Word can give you good success your life can be that you can even be sick you're always thinking of weaknesses sicknesses stress and those thoughts will produce energies that will attract such circumstances around you yeah yeah frustrated people always have frustrated thoughts before they became frustrated it began with your thinking imaginations imaginations imaginations imaginations they are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds say strongholds so you'll agree with me that based on what I have spoken already these strongholds are mental strongholds yeah you may say they are demonic strongholds of course but they deal with the mind because in context it says these strongholds casting down imaginations can you imagine imaginations now some of the strongholds are really really strongholds now in the Greek the word stronghold is actually plural that's verse 4 it's not singular it is the word okoroma okoroma when you read Greek and you see the word ma at the end it means it is plural okoroma in the Hebrew if you see I am at the end it is plural like elohim so the strongholds here are plural now in the Greek it has two meanings in ancient Greek it was a word for fortress the same word also means prison fortress and prison but there's a difference between a fortress and a prison a castle is a fortress a fort is a fortress a citadel is a fortress fortresses are so strong that you know fortresses fortresses are built to prevent outsiders from coming in they have strong and great gigantic walls that prevent outsiders from coming in so those who are outside cannot go in but for prisons it's why in prison it is to prevent insiders from going out so the prison walls prevent those who are inside from going out and a fortress prevents outsiders from coming in and the word stronghold is both so you are such enslaved and in prison so much that you yourself you can't come out and others can't also help you now there are people you can be in such bondage of thoughts there are people who believe that Charlie the kind of sickness yeah they have encountered they are going to die they can feel it the sickness is wild maybe it is a kind of deadly sickness let's say cancer something like that people have wild diseases hepatitis b and they believe that this one the doctor has said it based on circumstances so you can be imprisoned in your thoughts stronghold you cannot come out others cannot help you no matter what people are saying it shall be well so you just smile back but you know that it will not be well yeah yeah you can be in the bondage of inferiority complex because of certain backgrounds you had yeah someone can tell you oh you are so nice in your heart you know it's a lie you are not nice yeah yeah thoughts you might have gone through wild situations wild abusive relationships your sister went through those same abuse abusive relationships your mother went through the same thing so you've come to conclude that there is no good man on earth or you've come to conclude that you can never enjoy good marriage good men have finished brethren there are good men in this house and I'm glad that the women are rather responding they are affirming that they are really good men in this house I'm preaching hallelujah yeah so all sorts of thoughts you can be
Speaker 2imprisoned
Speaker 1I met someone who said he said I'm good for nothing he says I know I'm good for nothing say he knows it yeah so maybe you're taught I mean you have become you are in prison with a certain kind of thoughts people have said things but still you're not coming out you are enslaved yeah there are some who believe that their future doesn't matter they will never make it in life yeah I just believe God will never use them because as soon they have committed they are wondering if God really can forgive them they've heard about forgiveness but still they are imprisoned diverse thought imprisoning them many are imprisoned many are enslaved they come to check they lift up your hands but they walk away there's a kind of thought that has imprisoned them but you're going to be free from those oppressive thoughts today in
Speaker 2Jesus name yeah there
Speaker 1could be thoughts of guilt and condemnations thoughts of fear worries anxieties uncertainties fears health issues pulling down strongholds so all the strongholds in your mind are going to be pulled down that is how potent our weapons are he says casting down imagination and every high thing now the word says every high thing other version said every proud argument that arises itself against the true knowledge of God now in this world there are many argument proud argument that fights against what God has said what has God said there are proud arguments every high thing for instance I've had people saying God doesn't heal every God doesn't heal every type of sickness look there are certain sicknesses God will never heal God doesn't heal everyone now this is a proud argument against the knowledge of God now you may say it's based on what you've seen or what you've heard but I don't care what I guess what the Bible has said bless the Lord oh my soul and all that is within me bless the Lord oh my soul and forget not all his benefits who forgiveth all that iniquities who healeth all my diseases so don't see there are certain sicknesses God cannot heal the word of God says he heals not some not some all so to say listen there are certain sicknesses I'm telling you God doesn't heal it it's a proud argument against the knowledge of God or to say that look Satan is so powerful that he can heal he can touch you every time you want now there are some people who believe that Satan is so powerful that anytime you want to strike them it's possible that's a proud argument against the right knowledge of God who told you Satan has that power over you anyway he has because you have allowed him but he doesn't have that right some of you have actually overestimated his power some of you even think that Satan is omnipresent he can be here then he can be in the next church then he can be in America and he can be Satan is not everywhere he uses angels are not omnipresent they can be one place at a time someone is saying wow you are shocked they can be one place at a time but there are he has his demons everywhere so he receives information aha but he doesn't know everything he's not omnipresent he doesn't know everything he's not omni and omniscient he doesn't know everything he's not omnipresent he's not omnipotent he doesn't have all power yeah people want to just I know I knew someone he says I want to say something but I don't want Satan to hear I don't want him to hear can I say it in your ears so to think Satan can strike you anytime is a proud argument against the knowledge of God certain things we always hear to say the believer is under a curse that is a proud argument against the true knowledge of God the believer is under a generational curse is it true? it's not true it's a proud argument against God's knowledge the believer in Christ is not anyway if you see anyone you can see the evidence of a generational curse a generational curse in his life the person has allowed it the person may have allowed it but positionally legally no the believer is not he delivered us from the authority of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the son of his love you have been delivered and translated the word translated is the Greek word for total transfer total transfer total transfer the same word that is used for Elijah's translation and Enoch's translation from one realm to another realm yeah translated you are transferred anyway it doesn't matter your family background because you know now you have been grafted into a new family tree let me ask you a question do you know Jesus' family tree? some of you are worried what kind of family tree you came from? my father was a drunkard my mother is a halot my grandmother was a robber my my grandfather was good for nothing so me myself I'm finished now it doesn't matter do you know Jesus' lineage? Tamar was part of his lineage you know Tamar? Tamar actually gave birth by gave birth by incest yeah Tamar slept with his father-in-law and gave birth to Fares and Zarah who are in the lineage of Jesus so Tamar is there and who is there again? Rahab the halot Rahab the halot is part of Jesus' genealogy of generations yeah Bathsheba is there yeah and the Bible says you know Bathsheba the wife of Uriah so we have adultery and murder in that lineage Uriah is mentioned for us to remember that he was killed for us to know that the lineage is by the election of grace and who is there again? Ruth was there a Moabitess not qualified to be in the congregation of the Lord a Gentile she was disqualified there was another king who was there his name was actually Jeconiah the last king before the captivity if you read about him in Jeremiah it's wild he had a very short time to reign but what is written about him is wild he said is this Coniah a despised broken idol a vessel where the Lord is living? where rain is no pleasure? Jeremiah prophesied and said oh earth earth earth write ye this man childless a man that shall not prosper none of his seed can rule any longer on the throne of David he was cursed severely the Bible calls him a vessel where rain is no pleasure in the Greek it is said periphrasis for a toilet bowl aha there is no pleasure in a toilet bowl? there is no pleasure in a toilet bowl? that is how the Bible describes him and this guy ruled for a very short time months I don't know what he really did all of these guys are in Jesus' lineage so Jesus should be so cursed but it's not like that so it doesn't matter your foundation it doesn't matter the kind of family tree you have come from if you are in Christ you are a new creation now we are transplanted we have been grafted into the body of Jesus into a new family tree remember that we were once a wild olive tree and now we have been grafted into Jesus' family tree we are partaking of the fatness of that tree according to Romans 11 verse 17 so you belong to a new family tree praise God you are not under a curse you are under the blessing of Abraham Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the Lord we have been redeemed because he was made a curse he was hanged on a tree he was not cursed he became the curse your curse so generational curses can take effect if you allow it but once you know what he has done you believe it, you receive it, you appropriate it you are free to go so there are many things proud argument some people are thinking that God is angry with them so God is angry with me God is angry with me God is angry with me that is a proud argument against the knowledge of God who said God is angry with you? that is not what the Bible is saying God is not angry did you know that God even had to swear by an oath that because of the cross he will never be angry with you? that is in Isaiah 54 verse 9 and verse 10 Isaiah 54 is a continuation of Isaiah 53 he is speaking of the effect of the cross he says he has sworn like the waters of Noah I will never be angry with you because Jesus exhausted God's anger on the cross in your place Hallelujah so there are proud arguments once you don't know the scriptures there are proud arguments everywhere proud arguments proud arguments Kenneth Hagin of blessed memory read an article when he was in his 50s and the medical article told him that by the time you are in your 50s your retention, your memory your retentive memory its strength and capacity actually wins and goes down after a while Hagin couldn't remember scriptures he could quote the new testament everything but all those things were gone he could hardly remember things from the past the Lord told him because of what you read and believed Jesus told him you read an article and you believed it and the moment you believed it the effects started happening that is a proud argument against the knowledge of God Hallelujah casting down imaginations and every high thing every proud argument that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and he says and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ see the obedience of Christ now this is where the warfare is now how do you wage this kind of battle when you are struggling with evil thoughts, unpleasant thoughts lustful thoughts, fearful thoughts all of these thoughts are just depressive thoughts frustrating all of these kind of thoughts they are always hunting you down how do you deal with them? suicidal thoughts one day I preached some hoy after the message a lady came to see me and said Manago thank you I had actually decided to commit suicide after this meeting but your preaching has saved me so she was free suicide because of the thoughts someone told her she had ate it wasn't a medical proof because of certain things she had done she actually believed she had ate and she felt that actually it is good to end her life once and for all because of the thoughts were so oppressive so she believed she had ate without any medical proof yeah now how do you bring your thoughts how do you take your thoughts captive or bring your thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ now let me show you what this verse is not saying this verse is not saying bring your thoughts or take your thoughts captive to obey Christ that's not what it is saying that thought that is troubling you how can that thought obey Christ it can't obey Christ you are imprisoned by that kind of thought that thought is oppressing you if you could free yourself you would have freed yourself a long time because that thought is consistently bashing you he is not saying bring your thoughts to obey Christ You can't do it. Remember that your mind is not born again. What is born again is your spirit. Your mind is not born again. Our minds are being renewed with God's word every day. So your mind is not regenerated. So he's not saying that take those thoughts to obey Christ. In the Greek, it's not a verb. The Greek says obedience. Obedience is a noun. Bring your thoughts captive to, not to obey Christ. To his obedience. To the obedience of Christ. He's not talking about your obedience. Christ's obedience. Are you following me? He says bring those thoughts captive. He didn't say to obey Christ. But to the obedience of Christ. A noun. He's talking about Christ's obedience. To his obedience. Bring it to his obedience. Praise God. And I'm going to show you. What is Christ's obedience. What is the obedience of Christ. So that you can take those thoughts captive. Now the moment you think it is to obey Christ. All the stress comes on you. And you are wondering. How can I do it? So when the wrong thought comes. Hey, obey Christ. Obey Christ. It's very difficult. But there's a simple way. Alright. I'm going to tell you. What the obedience of Christ is. But the word obedience actually. Is the word hupako. Now hupako is compounded of two words. In the Greek. Hupa. And oku. I didn't say okru. Oku. It sounds like okru. Oku. Now hupa. Or hupa. Is the word under. And oku. Is the word from. Where we get the word acoustics. Acoustics. Oku. Now it means to hear. To hear. From the word acoustics. Oku. To hear. So literally obedience is to be under. To be hearing. Ok. To set yourself. In a state where you are constantly hearing. The word obedience actually means I hear. To listen listenly. To hear. To be under hearing. So. I mean one of the ways to be freed from oppressive thoughts. Is to give yourself. To hearing the word of God. To hearing the word of Christ. To hearing and hearing. But what is the obedience of Christ? Now. The Bible calls Jesus' death his obedience. He calls his death his obedience. The one thing Jesus came that characterized. Christ's obedience is his sufferance and death. That was the ultimate reason why he came. Ok. So when you read. The book of Romans chapter 5 verse 19. Let's see Romans 5:19. It speaks of his obedience. Romans 5:19. For as by one man's disobedience. Sorry. As by one man's disobedience. Many were made sinners. That's Adam's sin. So by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. By the obedience of one. Shall one. Shall many be made righteous. What was that obedience? His death. He was obedient unto death. All right. Philippians chapter 2 verse 8. Philippians 2 verse 8. And being found in fashion as a man. He humbled himself and became obedient unto death. Even the death of the cross. He became obedient. Onto leading to his death. So his obedience is his death. Praise God. The reason Jesus came. Was to die. If he had led a wonderful life. And had not died. Would have all been condemned. Because one person made it. And the others couldn't make it. So his presence on earth actually would have condemned all of us. It was better if nobody made it. But now one person made it. So you have no excuse. So if he had not died it would have been worse actually. Aha. But because he died. Humanity now arose into deity. Representing all of us. So one of us made it. Hallelujah. So. His death is his obedience. Yeah. So now. He is showing us how to bring our thought captive to his obedience. His obedience. But let me say something about. Romans 5 verse 19. Romans 5 verse 19. Before I continue. The Bible says that for us. By one man's disobedience. Now how did you become a sinner? You are a sinner. Not because you sinned. You are a sinner because someone sinned. That's amazing. You are a sinner because somebody sinned. That's why you are a sinner. In fact. You were not even born. So you were a sinner before you came. We call it identification. The Bible says by. Is it by your disobedience you became a sinner? No. You became a sinner not by your disobedience. You became a sinner by someone's disobedience. In the same way. You become righteous by someone's obedience. So many don't understand the concept of righteousness. They think to be righteous means I live right. No. Living right doesn't make you righteous. Living right is not righteousness. Righteousness produces right living. But right living itself is not righteousness. But righteousness produces right living. By the disobedience of one. Many were made what? Sinners. That one person is who? Adam. Okay. Alright. So imagine a sinner living right. Does that make him righteous? No. It depends on two people. Our destiny lies in the hands of two people. It depends on where you are. Two federal heads. Two federal systems. One is called Adam. The other one is called Christ. Yeah. Now we are all. All of us were in Adam. So whatever happened to Adam happened to you. You see, all of us were seminally in Adam. God, by the time God made Adam, he has finished creating everybody. All of us were created 6,000 years ago. But we were born in different years. You were born 30 years ago. But you were created 6,000 years ago. Yeah. So he put all of you in that body called Adam. So whatever happened to him happened to you. When he sinned, you had sinned. Yeah. When he was rejected, you were rejected. When he was condemned, you were condemned. When he came under a curse, you came under a curse. Whatever happened to Adam happened to you. That's surprising, right? It doesn't seem to be fair. Because there's nothing you have done. So you were born into this life already under a curse. Because whatever happened to Adam actually happened to you. Yeah. It works. If your grandfather died as a young boy, you wouldn't have been here. Because you are identified in him. You wouldn't have been here. Yeah. That's what it means, actually. In the same way, thank God Christ came. And God put all of us in Christ. Now, you need to understand this practically. Whatever happened to Christ has happened to us. It is by his obedience we are righteous. We are not righteous by what we do, by his obedience. We are constituted righteous. So your righteousness is not what you are doing. It's Christ. And that actually produces right living. Whatever happened to him, when Christ was accepted, you were accepted. When Christ was favored, you were favored. What a blessing. Yeah. What a blessing. So there is no way God can reject you until God rejects Christ. You can't be rejected until God has rejected Christ. Whatever has happened to him has happened to you. So as he is, so are we in this world. That is why you must walk in that consciousness. You must even believe it. The devil cannot molest Christ, so you cannot be molested. Aha. Because he has raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly peace. Now when you read all these verses, do you actually believe them? Or do you think they were just written poetically for storytelling? No. No. So your true identity is actually Christ. He is actually your representative. If he can be rejected, you can be rejected. Do you believe it? Praise God. Praise God. So we are made sinners by one man's disobedience and we are made righteous by what? One man's obedience. What a blessing. Yeah. To say I'm not righteous is like saying Christ is not righteous. Yeah. bringing every thought captive to the obedience of Christ the obedience of Christ the obedience of Christ so everything has to do with his obedience his obedience is his listen his readiness and willingness to give himself for us which actually happened by his death heaven will forever celebrate his obedience his willingness do you know that Jesus could have decided not to die although that was the reason he came it was actually a choice the fact that he chose to die for you the Bible calls that his obedience he was willing to obey the father's ultimate the father's grand design for humanity for instance in Gethsemane he had a choice Jesus actually wished he was not going to die this is Jesus he said father hmm let his car pass me by now Jesus was hoping he wouldn't die I mean when it was closer he said he came to die but when it was closer he began to feel the pressure and said father if it is we planned this from eternity but if there's a way to change the method because there was something Jesus dreaded the most now what Jesus dreaded the most was not the physical sufferings you may say that oh Jesus was going to suffer physically the pain that was nothing to him what he dreaded the most was actually what happened on the cross for three hours from 12 o'clock to 3 p.m. there was total darkness what Jesus dreaded the most was for the first time in all of eternity he dreaded the most for the first time in all of eternity he was going to partake of sin you see the holiest man who ever lived by nature was going to partake of man's sin man's sinful nature man's sin was going to be upon him that means that he was going to be separated from his father we don't know how painful it is because we are born in sin we can't understand but for the thrice holy God who was incarnated as a man when he anticipated the fact that he's going to be separated for the for the first time from his father it was like God was going to separate himself from himself but essentially they are one the coherence the coexistence of God they are inseparable something happened he's going to partake of that which is from Satan sinful nature he said Lord Father if it is possible to separate from God I will separate from you listen just the anticipation of what was going to happen made him sweat blood this was his suffering in anticipation the cross was suffering in suffering in actualization but anticipating what was going to happen he started sweating blood it wasn't a joke it's a father if there's another means let me escape it then he said not as I will but as thou wilt so he gave himself for it to happen that was his obedience when he left guess just when he after this prayer just about leaving Gethsemane our brother Judas our brother Judas had got to conspire with a chief priest to sell Jesus you know Judas was offended you know where the offense came when Mary broke the alabaster and poured the ointment on Jesus he was offended quickly he calculated the amount of money that was lost he said this could have been sold for 300 pence the guy he said to what purpose is this waste you are wasting it on Jesus and those precious ointment were very precious young men will work their life and save you have their savings and they'll put their money together to just buy that kind of ointment and normally when they marry on the first day of their marriage they will pour it on their husbands to show how much they treasured their husbands so expensive hallelujah it's a revelation for someone here so when Mary poured it on Jesus the guy was offended this could have been sold for 300 pence the salary for 300 working days yeah he was offended that is when he left and he started he loved money so much that he decided to sell his master for money that's what the love of money can do they got into where Jesus was and you just had to betray him with a kiss aha and you know what happened Jesus willingly gave his life there's one thing to say that amazes me in John chapter 10 verse 17 and 18 yeah he says he has power to lay down his life he said no man take it from me aha he has the power the authority the Greek says the authority to lay down his life and to take it up again he called now Judas came with you know what he came with look at John chapter 18 quickly all right when Jesus had spoken this word he went forth with his disciples over the brook Kidron where was a garden into which he entered and his disciples and Judas also which betrayed him knew the place yeah for Jesus oftentimes resorted Theta with his disciples so he knew the place Jesus then having received a band of men now the Greek word for band so normally in Jesus movies we have about five soldiers accompanying Judas but a band of men is a word Spira a military cohort of six hundred men six hundred a man and officers from the chief priest now the word officers is in the Greek is the word for police officers so we have six hundred military then we have police officers yeah yeah they were the temple policemen overseeing the temple all of them were parts aha from the chief priests and the Pharisees so you could just imagine a lot of people perhaps close to thousand yeah you could imagine a lot of people perhaps close to thousand yeah and officers from the chief priest now the word officers in the Greek is the word for police officers so we have six hundred military then we have police officers yeah they were the temple policemen overseeing the temple all of them were parts from the chief priest and the Pharisees so you could just imagine a lot of people perhaps close to thousand yeah officers from the chief priest and the Pharisees so you could just imagine a lot of people perhaps close to thousand yeah They came with lanterns and torches and weapons. The weapon here is the Greek word for the full armor of God. So they were dressed. I don't know what Judas told them. He said, the guy is very powerful. So they took all the lanterns and the light and said, he may be hidden in some cave or somewhere. You have to search him. And he's so powerful that he can mesmerize all of you. So going to catch one person, he had to be armed. The next verse. All right. Jesus, therefore, knowing all things that shall come upon him, went forth and said unto them, whom seek ye? The next verse. Yeah, the next verse again. As soon then as he had said unto them, I am, I am he, they went backward and fell to the ground. Now, in the Greek, there's no he. You see, in your versions, he is in italics. He came. He came to them and said, I am. Ego imi. The same words used for Jehovah telling Moses, I am that I am. Jesus said, I am. I am. He's introducing himself as God. The Bible says, they went backward and fell to the ground. Now, all of these men. Just imagine more than 600 men. He said, I am. And the power of God. There's the word. Fell to the ground. Fell to the ground. It's the same Greek word that was used for John. When he was taken in Revelations and saw Jesus, the Bible says John saw him and he fell as dead. The Greek word says to fall as corpse. That is the word for all the soldiers falling down to the ground. They came to take him captive, but he captivated his captive. He was captive. So all those guys were on the floor and Jesus and the disciples were there waiting for them to rise up. If they wanted to run away, that was an opportunity. They waited for them to gather themselves. They fell as corpse in the Greek. Now, when John fell, it's Jesus who laid hands on him and he rose up. They fell as corpse. So he waited for all these soldiers with their armor. Their shield was somewhere. They are sought away. They are to now rise up. Praise God. Not only the soldiers. Something happened. Something happened. When they stood up, there was a guy called Marcus. Marcus was the servant of the high priest, Caiaphas. Okay. Alright. So, when the Bible says servant, he was actually in, he held an official office. He was the chief speaker, or the speaker. He spoke, actually the spokesman for Caiaphas. Caiaphas was the high priest. So, whatever Caiaphas wanted to say, it was Marcus who said for him. And Caiaphas was a Sadducee. And the Sadducees never believed in anything supernatural or miraculous. They didn't believe in the resurrection or anything supernatural. In fact, the Sadducees didn't even believe in the miracles in the Old Testament. All the miracles, most of God in the Old Testament, they don't believe it. Therefore, all the miracles Jesus ever did, they didn't believe it in their day. So, whatever Caiaphas wanted to say publicly against Jesus, it was Marcus who said it. He was his mouthpiece, actually. So, I believe that Peter had harbored hatred against this guy. Because all the malicious, all the evil calculation of Caiaphas was voiced by Marcus. So, Peter, of a long time, had aimed this guy. All that he has spoken against us all these years. When all the guys fell down, Peter felt like, this is our day. This is our time. Because the soldiers with armory were on the floor. So, Peter thought he could do anything. So, he took a sword. Aiming to cut his head off. Nobody will aim at someone's ear. It doesn't work. In fact, the Greek describes how he swung it. You can see that it is to take his head off. So, Marcus was smart. So, he tried to escape. And I think he took away his ear. Let's see the next verse. Look at what happened. The next verse. Okay, this you have to read other Gospels to show you what happened. Now, Jesus said, give me a little time. Now, Jesus is amazing. He came to arrest you. They are on the floor. Jesus waited for them to rise. Marcus was also there. Peter has cut off his ear. Instead of Jesus concentrating on his death, he told them to suffer me a little moment. He told the people to just, you've come to arrest me, but give me a little time. He says, now, I don't know how Jesus caused America to come. By this time, I don't know whether his right ear was on the floor or something, on the ground. Whether it was slashed in pieces. It could be that it was on the ground and Jesus fixed it. It could also be that the way Peter swung the blade, it cut the whole thing in pieces and Jesus had to grow a new ear. One of them. But Jesus, in the midst of what was going to happen, took time to heal Marcus. That's something amazing. There are some leaders and pastors, when they are in trouble, they forget about the flock. They feel the whole world should pause and attend to them. Yeah. But we have to learn from Jesus. You are in affliction, but you are relieving others from your affliction. That is great leadership. That comes from God. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. You know what Jesus did? Jesus saved Peter on that day. Now listen. If Jesus had not fixed his ear, straight away, Peter would have been imprisoned for assaulting a public official. Yeah. Peter would have been imprisoned straight away for what he has done to a public official. So, Jesus saved Peter's mess. Secondly, you know what Jesus did to Marcus? Marcus was always in the temple because he was the personal assistant of the high priest. In the Bible, if a part of you, if you are dismembered, a part of your body is gone. You are disqualified from entering the temple. That is, Marcus couldn't have worked with Caiaphas again because one of his ears was gone. So, it would have dismissed, canceled his employment. So, Jesus even cared for Marcus so that he would not lose his job. Jesus had to fix it for him. Applause. Applause. Applause. No matter all the insult Marcus has had read against Jesus, which Peter couldn't stand. And Peter had to retaliate by just cutting a guy's head. It affected his ear. Jesus still loved him. What am I saying? Look, Jesus had a power. At that time, if Jesus had to run away, I remember many years ago, I was just a student from a school. I was in first year. And we went for evangelism. On the streets of Cape Coast. And I met this old man. I said, sir, I gave him a tract. Jesus Christ is coming again. And he loves you. He took me aside and said, come, come, come, come. Oh. Why is he coming back? Laughter. So, I thought he was going to just give him some revelation. He said, so for all that he did against him, he didn't learn from it. He wants to come back again. Laughter. Oh, the beatings, they beat him. Jesus was calm and collected. He was himself. In fact, on that morning, another thing happened. You see that account in Mark chapter 14. There was a boy who fled naked at that scene. The Bible says there was a linen cloth around him. Have you read that before? You know what happened? Who is that boy? He was a boy who fled naked. Now, it's happened in Gethsemane. Do you know Gethsemane was a barrier ground? It was a cemetery. It was a cemetery. Aha. The linen cloth in the Greek is actually the cloth for covering the dead. Now, among the Jews, you know how they bury the dead? They cover, they cast a linen cloth around your naked body and they put you down. So, that linen cloth is the same Greek word, a shroud, for burying the dead. Okay. And the same way they wear Gethsemane was actually a barrier ground. It was a cemetery. So, you know what happened? When Jesus said, I am, and the power of God hits them, that power of God raised up a boy who had died not too long. And the boy rose up. I'm telling you. And he was wondering what was happening. So, he was holding the linen cloth. That was, around his body, his naked body. Then I'm sure the soldier said, hey, catch him, hold him, hold him. We don't want another story because after Lazarus being raised from the dead, that was actually what led to Jesus' death. Lazarus being raised from the dead. He felt Jesus was becoming too powerful and too popular. Now, there's another case of someone rising from the dead. Let's catch him, hold him. We don't want another story pervading the whole city. And the guy ran. Praise God. Now, all of these things were happening. Jesus had the power to lay down his life. Now, when Jesus stood before Pilate, Pilate boasted that he could let him go. Jesus said, what do you mean? Listen, I can ask the Father now, presently, and he will send 12 legends of angels. You know 12 legends of angels? A legend is a little beyond 6,000. A legend is almost 6,100. Yeah. So, 12 legends of angels. We have 72,000 angels. Aha. Hmm. In the book of Kings, in the days of Hezekiah, when Assyrians boasted against God and threatened to destroy Judah, an angel was dispatched from heaven and one angel killed 185,000 Assyrians. One angel. He slayed 185,000 Assyrians. They all died. So, if one angel can slay 185,000 people, then think of 72,000 angels. Calculate and see. It is more than 13 billion people. 13 billion. Twice our current population. So, Jesus said, don't think I, if I want to deliver myself. Presently, angels are going to kill me. So, we dispatched. Yeah. Now, in those days, understand this, that the Pilate court was the official supreme court among the Jews. And Pilate presided over every judicial matter. So, if Pilate grants you that you are justified or acquitted, that is it. Aha. He presided over the supreme court of the day. So this was what happened. When a criminal appears before his court, it was a law in those days that they would give you three chances to defend yourself. When you are accused of something, you have to defend yourself. They give you three, when you are accused, three opportunities to defend yourself. If you pass up those three opportunities and you don't say anything, you are automatically declared guilty. Do you understand? They give you the first opportunity to defend yourself. You don't say anything. The second opportunity, you have to defend yourself. The third opportunity, defend yourself. You don't defend yourself. Automatically, you are charged guilty. Praise God. And when Jesus stood before Pilate, before the court of law, look at Jesus' reply. And when he was accused of the chief priest and the eldest, he answered nothing. Nothing. The next verse. Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee? And he answered him to never a word. I like the King James. He answered him to never a word in so much that the governor marveled greatly. Say, what is this? If you check the scriptures, they gave him three chances. The chances were three for him to defend himself. In all the cases. Occasion was he. Answered nothing. The Bible says the governor, Pilate, marveled greatly. Because nobody had done that before. There is no criminal who will not defend himself. But Jesus passed up all the three chances for him to be declared automatically guilty. Because he knew it was his father's will to die for you. Come on, clap for Jesus. He was automatically charged with guilt. So that the scriptures might be fulfilled. He was led as a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep before his chariots is damned, so he openeth not his mouth. That's what Isaiah said. 53 verse 7. Hallelujah. What does it mean? Jesus, all occasions, he passed up every occasion. He makes sure that nothing will prevent him from the obedience he had to embark and fulfill. All of these things, the Bible calls it his obedience. Hallelujah. His willingness to die just for you. His obedience. Don't think Jesus was taken as a captive. He died like a king. Kingly. Praise God. Kingly. In the scriptures, everybody who died by crucifixion dies this way. Because of what is called crucifracture. The suffocation of their lungs. They try to push up. They die by actually hitting their head on the wooden post. So they break their head. They die trying to breathe. They die this way. In history, only Jesus died this way. It's amazing. Just that. This way. You know why? Death didn't take Jesus. He gave himself to death. Now, when people are dying, they die slowly. Jesus didn't die slowly. Death couldn't take him. He yielded himself to death. The Bible says, one of the things he said before he died, the Bible says, he dismissed his spirit. Another time, he, he, hallelujah. He says, Father, into your hands, I. What? One version says, I command my spirit. The Greek says, into your hands, I command my spirit. The Bible says, he dismissed his spirit. Yeah. The word to dismiss his spirit is like a king dismissing his servant. He himself willingly gave himself to death. Death didn't take him. He gave himself. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Say, Jesus died for me. Jesus died. Now, understand that his death, all I've described, his willingness, his readiness, and his death is called his obedience. His sufferings and his death is called what? His obedience. Okay, back to what I'm saying. The Bible says, bring your thought captive to the obedience of Christ. So, we are talking about, the way bringing your thought captive in the Greek describes a soldier who has a spear pointing the back of a criminal. And who is leading him captive. So, having your spear at the back of a criminal and leading him captive. So, he says, that is how to hold your thought. To his obedience. His obedience. What he accomplished in his death. His death, his sufferings are what he accomplished for us. For example. For example. Maybe some certain thoughts are oppressing your life that you're going to die. I think I'm going to die. Now, how many of you have had that thought before? I'm going to die. I feel like I'm going to die. Death is coming my way. You dream and you see death. People prophesy to you and they tell you about death. Or maybe the doctor is even telling you death is closer. So, when you sit in the car, you are thinking of death. When you sleep, death, death. You feel like you are dying. What do you do with this kind of thought? The Bible says, bring it captive to the obedience of Christ. The question is this. In his obedience, what did he do to death? In his obedience, in his death, what did Jesus do to death? You understand? In his obedience, that is his death. What did Jesus do to death? When Jesus died, the Bible said he abolished death. And brought life and light. He brought life and light. He brought what? Life and immortality to light through the gospel. So, Jesus actually nullified death. Destroyed death. The Bible says, oh death, where is thy sting? And oh grief, where is thy victory? So, if death is tormenting you, remember that in his obedience, he conquered death. That is it. So, bringing a thought captive is all about what Jesus has done. You see, this was the scriptures. Knowing the scriptures, what did he do to death? This death that is calling me, what has Jesus done to you? Jesus paralyzed you. Jesus nullified your ability. So, when you see in his obedience, he rendered death impotent. He paralyzed death. Destroyed death. That's what Jesus did. In fact, the good news is that Jesus says, I am he that liveth. And was dead. And was dead. And he says, behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. But Jesus, there's amen there in the verse. And I hold the keys of Hades and death. The good news is that the one who has the keys of death is not Satan. The one who has the key of death is the one who has the authority over death. The one who has the power over death is Jesus. Some of you think that the key of death is in the hands of Satan. So, he can strike you. But any time, that's a proud argument against the true knowledge of God. No, Jesus has the key of death and Hades. So, if they tell you death is coming for you, we say it's a lie. Tell that thought you are a liar. You are a liar. Jesus defeated you. You have been defeated. He destroyed him that has the power of death. Yeah. By so doing, you are taking a thought captive. I'm telling you that, at best, quote the scripture. Quote the word of God. If you can't remember the scriptures, take the Bible and pray it aloud. Find scriptures that talk about how death has been defeated and pray it. Pray it. Sing it. Shout it. By so doing, you are taking a spear at the back of death. Say, death, you don't belong to me. Go your way. You don't belong to me. You are taking those thought captive to his obedience. You see, it's not your obedience. It can never be your obedience. It's his obedience. He has paid. He has had the victory for us. So subject that thought to his obedience. Say, death, you are nowhere. Jesus defeated you. Jesus conquered you. Jesus paralyzed you. You have been nullified. Yeah. Jesus has the keys of death and heresies. And as you quote the scriptures, pray with the scriptures, you are taking those thought captive. You can walk free. Are you here with me? Walk free. You know, in Africa, one of the things we fear is that we are always afraid of witches and wizards. You see, it is the highest shame for a born-again believer, tongue-talking, Bible-reading, spirit-filled, to be afraid of witches. Because on the hierarchy of Satan's rule, witches are not even on the last list. They are not on the last list. Ha, ha, ha. don't be afraid of witches at all it's a shame for you to be afraid of a witch the Holy Ghost is in you greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world the greater one is in you and the angels of God and compact run about those who fear the Lord and deliver them so angels are all around, run about you angels around you the Holy Ghost in you Jesus in the Holy Ghost in you blood bought, blood purchased, blessed sanctified running away from a witch who doesn't know his way out Satan himself is not much for you you have to have this in your subconscious now if for instance you receive prophecies that Satan is coming against you tomorrow or you dream and things are coming against you and they tell you that oh the devil is against you this is against you that is against you and now you're beginning to have oppressive thoughts witches are coming after me demons are against me attack, I'm being attacked I'm being attacked, I'm being attacked what do you do? I'm being attacked, I'm being attacked it's the simplest thing to do take those thoughts captive put a spear at the back of those thoughts and subject it to the obedience of Christ what was Christ's obedience? in his obedience you know what he did? in his obedience what did he do to Satan? ask yourself that question in his death what did he do? the Bible says in Colossians 2:14 and 15 and having blotted out the handwriting of the ordinances that was against us he took it out of the way having nailed it to his cross and having spoiled having disarmed and having put to nothing principalities and powers he made a public spectacle he made a show of them openly triumphant over them so so Jesus has already celebrated Satan's vanquish he celebrated Satan's defeat it was a public spectacle after tripping him on a cross you know in Hades in Abraham's bosom Abraham was there David was there you know all the saints when they died they went to the paradise that was called Abraham's bosom so Jesus also went there and Jesus just displayed how the devil is no match the devil has his regime had ended he was stripped you know now before Jesus died he even declared Satan's end he says now is the judgment of this world now is the prince of this world cast out Jesus said he's cast out you are saying he's not cast out Jesus said now is the prince of this world cast out the word says he's expelled he's an outlaw hallelujah if you can only believe he destroyed him that had the power of death the bible is a strong word destroyed him so you take this thought captive to his obedience behold I give unto you power to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by enemies hurt you over all not over some over all not over some he didn't say and some things will hurt you he says and nothing shall by are you saying hey they can attack you you have to be careful one day I was reading a certain book I was even in secondary school I was reading Aiknet Netanozome's book Occult Grandmaster it's a wild book Occult Grandmaster Now in Christ someone saw me holding a book and said hey demons may visit you this night look you begin to have attacks you can't handle it so I was so surprised now in this life without the revelation of your authority in Christ you will walk in fear if you know your authority you'll be restful you'll be restful so take this thought captive take this thought captive whether witches or demons what did Jesus do in his death always remember his death it's his obedience that is where our victory is always remember that is where the gospel is that is where the good news is hallelujah look the cross is the solution to everything for instance let's say someone robbed you or let me give an example you haven't thought of robbery you haven't thought of robbery you are feeling that someone is going to rob you have you felt like that before you are feeling that something is going to go from your hands don't worry do you know why Jesus was crucified between two thieves left and right it was not in vain he was crucified between two thieves left and right to redeem you from being robbed left and right to redeem you from being robbed right and right to redeem you from being robbed left and right to redeem you from being robbed left and right to redeem you from being robbed left and right But you can't be rejected, you can't be rejected. were rejected on the cross. His death was your death. Take those thoughts captive. Take it captive. It can't happen to you. Praise God. You see the necessity of knowing the word of God. So you can't leave the word of God anytime in your life. Because your whole life surrounds the word. You can have victory over your thought life through the word. Appropriating what Jesus has done on the cross. Health challenges. Health challenges. If you are diagnosed with cancer, the devil will visit you and speak to your mind every day. If you are diagnosed with any internal disease, he'll come and whisper to you. Your end has come. You'll not be healed. Especially when you have confessed the word and the sickness is still there. I told you. I told you this thing doesn't work for everyone. Satan can suggest to you. Subconsciously, you can start doubting God's word. Why? You used to believe in communion. You take it consistently. But check yourself. You have reduced it. You now believe in medicine more than communion. Now, you should take it together. Take your medicine. Take the communion. Because some of the medicines are not even reliable. Add communion. Yeah. Because, you see, even medicines have side effects. Yeah. While something is getting well, something is also getting unwell. But, there's, you have a hundred percent comprehensive insurance policy when it comes to divine healing. Yeah. They are life to those who find them. And medicine to every part of their body. That's the Hebrew. Health to all their flesh. So, sometimes you can have thought. Especially, the first day, second day, third day, fourth day, you've been speaking God's word. The thing is not happening. The more you speak the God's word, the more. Ah! Did Jesus really die at all? Did. They say that by his stripes I am healed. But nothing shows. How many of you have been there before? Aha! Aha! Don't give up. God's word is true. You know what Jesus went through to pay for you? By his stripes. We were healed. You know, they stripped. Before Jesus was scourged, they stripped him naked. The Roman scourging, they strip you naked. And they tie your two hands over your head to a stone. It's a stone cast. There are rings around the stone. So, they tie your hands above your head to the rings of the stone as well as your legs. And you are rendered naked. And there are two soldiers who are actually beating you. And they use. Ha! It's a leather steady handle. Aha! The hip is twelve in one. Twelve leather steady. Yeah, it's a steady handle. I mean, praise God. And all the twelve leather strands have on their edges broken pieces of stones. Sharp stones, sharp metals. And glasses. And all sorts of wicked stuff. Nails. They are all out of just the jagged pieces, the edges. So, we have nails. We have bones. We have. You have metals. You have sharp stones. And when it hits your body, it separates the flesh from the skin. It gets into you and separates it. So, they apply it and they ship Jesus. Two people are applying at the same time. You need to be strong to apply it. The Roman scourging was so deadly that even West criminals, when they pronounce that they are going to die by scourging, they start dying before the process. Nobody can face scourging and crucifixion at the same time. It doesn't happen. One is enough to kill you. And historians like Eusebius, church historian, tells us that after the scourge, your veins and sinus can be seen. You lose blood and your body actually opens up because it aims at your death. So, Eusebius says that your veins can be seen, your sinus can be seen, your arteries, you're opened up. And I believe it. I believe it because in Psalm 22, verse 17, it said, I may tell all my bones. I may count all my bones. They stare and look at me. Give me another version. The word tell is count. This is the Messianic scriptures. Give me another version about Jesus on the cross. That you could count his bones because he was opened. So, even the movies we watch, they are not enough. So, you could see Jesus opened up. You could see his sinus. You could see his veins. Praise God. That is what Jesus went through. Now, I've not really described it well. That's the whole message. Now, when I studied and read about how what Jesus went through, I told myself, I'll never apologize for divine healing. This is what he did to pay for my sickness. I received divine health because he paid for my pain. I gladly accept it. I will not dishonor him by doubting what he did for me. If the pain is there, I still hold on the word. I keep to it. I confess it because the word can never fail. Praise God. It could be progressive but it can also be instant. Just hold on the word. Because when healing manifests, sometimes it manifests 30-fold, 60-fold, and 100-fold. The fact that the pain is there doesn't mean the healing has not begun. Jesus says the fruit begins 30-fold. 30-fold increase means that you have 70% pain. Now, when you graduate to 60-fold, it means you have 40% pain. Then you graduate to 100-fold. So, in the midst of pain, don't think nothing is happening. Within, internally, the word of God has begun to take effect. And by his stripes, by his full-body bruise, we are healed. Jesus went through so much for us. In Psalm 129 verse 3, the plowers plowed my back. They made long their furrows. You know how we plow the field? The plowers plowed my back. You know the reason for plowing? Jesus' back was plowed. Can you show us the furrows, how it looks like? You know, when you make long furrows, the plowers plowed my back. That is furrows. Jesus' back. Praise God. Yeah, that was his back. The reason for plowing is for the sowing of seeds. So, his back was plowed to sow seeds of healing and health for you. Hallelujah. By his full-body bruise. So, if the devil is not tormenting you, with sickness, you will not be healed. The sickness is beyond telling. And the doctor describes how devastating the disease is spreading. Listen. Listen. Take God's word. It is by his stripes you will be healed. Take that thought captive to his obedience, the obedience of Christ. And lay hold on the word and celebrate the victory. Praise God. Celebrate the victory. All that Jesus went through to open up. Amen. He has paid for you. My brother, my sister. He paid for you. Take that thought captive. Tell yourself, I can't be sick. We work by faith, not by sensual perception. The feeling of sickness doesn't mean you are sick. That's spiritual language. In fact, you are not even healed because you feel well. You are healed because the word says so. The word must zoom larger than your sensual evidence and take hold of the word. You are feeling the word. Your feelings can lie, but the word cannot lie. So what do you trust? Your feelings or the word? The word. The word. The word. If the word says that this thing is white, just go confessing it is white. But physically, the thing looks like black. It is black, but Jesus says it's white. I don't even know which one to believe. Don't say that. Don't say I don't know. His word can. That was a true light that lighted every man that came into the world. It is black because of that kind of light falling on it. It can be a false light, but he is a true light. The true light. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Now, it could be that thoughts are tormenting you, oppressive thoughts saying you'll be poor forever. Poverty is your friend. Luck is your cousin. Poverty. Luck. And sometimes you look into your future, your present bank account doesn't glorify God. Now that you want to marry, looking at all the cost of preparing for marriage, when are you going to get everything to be able to get married? This marriage, or we should postpone it to the next two years. Nothing seems to be working. So if you don't even believe that when you marry, you have enough resources to take care of your wife, all of this thought comes so how about if my resources run out in a marriage all sort of thoughts what will I do looking at my current expenditure and my current income when will I even buy a car for my wife to be happy so all of these things come you look around the economic downturn economically you go like what what is this listen every problem of humankind bring it to the cross bring it to the obedience of Christ in his obedience has settled it his obedience what a joy to take my thought captive to his obedience in his obedience you know what happened in his obedience look at Gethsemane you know in Gethsemane he delivered us from economic case because he says case is the ground for your sick and he says in the sweat of your face you eat bread to reverse that case sweat and ground case is the ground for your sick in a sweat of your face you eat bread that is a lot of Adam's helpless race but Jesus the very first thing he redeemed us from you know what he did in Gethsemane and being in agony malo baccarat malander now look 22 verse 44 look 22 verse 44 look at what Jesus thickly clotted blood the clotting of blood okay this will happened Jesus was in such agony in gets get some money high stress emotional stress and the body received emotional stress as physical stress so much that his skin the first layer of skin separated from the second layer of skin and us they were back hims and because his blood was not clotted was suffering from thrombosis it begins it began to seep through the pores that we opened and that cases that situation is what is called hematidrosis it's a sickness we call her hematidrosis someone who is in extreme stress and thickly clotted blood now sips out of the pot of his cane and mixes up with his sweat and fall into the ground sweat is a case of stress stressing to make things happen fall into the ground which was cursed the blood redeemed the case ground for you redeem the test ground for you redeem the case God has been redeemed if I study the kind of trouble Jesus had to go through in sweating in agony to reverse FAQs

It means we live in human bodies, but our battles are not physical. Our warfare is spiritual and is fought with God's weapons, not carnal ones.

The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God. They include biblical truth and sound doctrine, which we use to pull down strongholds and take every thought captive.

Casting out demons is a simple act of authority in Jesus' name. Spiritual warfare, however, deals with the mind—casting down imaginations and bringing every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.

Strongholds are mental prisons or fortresses in the mind. They are thoughts and imaginations that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God and keep people in bondage.

You take a thought captive by subjecting it to what Jesus accomplished in His obedience—His death and resurrection. You quote Scripture, pray it aloud, and declare what Christ has done, such as defeating death, sickness, and Satan.

The obedience of Christ refers to His willingness and readiness to suffer and die on the cross for us. Through His obedience, we are made righteous and have victory over sin, death, and the enemy.
