Speaker 1Hallelujah. God is good. Thank you Jesus. Shall we have a word of prayer? Thank you Holy Spirit. Thank you for your wonderful, glorious, abiding and manifest presence in this place. And your word will have the free course. Thank you for dispensing light and truth and revelation. And we are never the same. We are turned around to the praise of your glory. In Jesus name. Amen. Amen. Turn with me to the book of Romans. Chapter 8. The message I'm preaching tonight is like, how many of you remember what I preached two years ago? Yes. The ashes of the sacrifice. Oh, you remember. You are good students of the Bible. Yeah. So, it's like a sequel to that message. Yeah. So, if you understood the ashes of the sacrifice, this will be easier and simpler. But I want you to follow with me as we go through the message. Because the message will make real meaning at the end. So, if you lose me in the middle, you may miss it. Are you following? Are you following? So, I want you to increase. So, capacity to endure sound doctrine. Hallelujah. Yeah. Yeah. I don't see anyone sleeping. Anyway, if you sleep, I will not be discouraged. Even at the amount of transfiguration. The intensity of glory. Peter slept. John slept. James slept. So, you sleeping doesn't mean I'm powerless. So, you sleep doesn't mean I'm powerless. Yeah. So, I speak on a subject. Son has been condemned in the flesh. Romans 8 verse 4. Now, Romans 8 verse 3 first. For what the Lord could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh. Hallelujah. Now, it begins by saying, for. For. The reason is because it is actually explaining verse 1. It is actually explaining verse 1. That's why it says, for. The reason sin has been condemned in the flesh is the explanation of Romans 8 verse 1. Now, let's see Romans 8 verse 1. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not out of the flesh, but out of heaven. After the Spirit. So, verse 3 is telling us why there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus. It's an explanation. Praise God. So, I'll come to this. But in verse 1, verse 1 begins by saying, there is therefore now no condemnation. Actually, verse 1 of Romans 8 is the solution for Romans chapter 7. Now, in Romans 7, it says, there is now therefore. The whole verse. It seems like a conjunction to a previous verse. Now, in Romans chapter 7, we see Paul's own personal struggles. And we'll come to it, to that. Paul's personal struggles in Romans chapter 7. And the solution was Romans 8 verse 1. And the reason for Romans 8 verse 1 was Romans 8 verse 3. Praise God. All right. There is therefore now no condemnation. So, the word condemnation is centrality to a lot of the things I'll be talking about tonight. Condemnation. But I want to just give you a few understandings about the word condemnation. Because the organ in the human frame that is responsible for condemnation is called the conscience. And we all have the conscience. If you are condemned, that condemnation is a function of an organ in you. That is called the conscience. Praise God. Now, when God made man, Adam, God placed Adam in Eden, in paradise. Very wonderful place. Now, Adam was made with a perfect body. With a perfect mind. With a perfect heart. In a perfect environment. Adam had sweet fellowship with God. And we know that God visited Adam in the cool of the day. And there was no barricade. There was no inhibition. There was a flow. God could bring all the animals to Adam to name. And Adam would name the animals. And there was a perfect intimacy between Adam and God. Hallelujah. But you see, God, originally, in his plan, he didn't want man to have a conscience. Because if man gets what is called a conscience, he was going to have a lot of problems. He was going to have a lot of problems. Once man gets the conscience, man was going to start hiding from God. Man was going to start running away from God. Man was going to now start working in guilt. Man was going to start working in shame. Man was going to start working in condemnation. That's what was going to happen. Once there is conscience. And when you begin to experience guilt and condemnation, and when you begin to experience all of these things, the result is that you start running away from God. You start running away from God. And man has been running away from God ever since. And trying to hide from God, and it breaks the sweet fellowship that exists between man and God. And once there is conscience and there is condemnation, then there will be fear. And when there is fear, then there will come worry. And when there is worry, then there will be stress. And when there is stress, then there will be diseases, then sicknesses, and on and on. And when there is sickness, then there will be diseases, then sicknesses, and on and on. And all the curses are activated. So, in God's original plan, when God placed man in Eden, giving him a perfect heart, giving him a perfect mind, it wasn't God's intention for man to have a conscience. God didn't want man to have a conscience. So, now, God placed in Eden two trees. One is called the tree of life. And the other one was called the tree of the knowledge. Of the knowledge of good and evil. All right. Of course, God wanted man to eat of the tree of life. But God gave man a free choice because of his love. God didn't want a robot or AI to serve him, you know, without a will and without a power of choice. God didn't want pre-programmed robots, automations, machines. You know, God wanted love. One who would freely choose to love him and to serve him. So, God's will was for man to eat the tree of life. If man ate of the tree of life, man will engage God's life. Man will be inundated with God's life, saturated with God's life. And man's intimacy with God was going to even become deeper. Deeper. His intimacy with God become deeper and particular for all the glories of the divine life. But, unfortunately, that's not what happened. Man ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Is that not so? Okay. Now, the moment man ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, man had a conscience. That is where the conscience came from. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Now, when that happened, the moment man ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you know what God said? God said, "Man has become like one of us. to know good and evil. man was at that moment, he says man has become like one of us to know good that is where the knowledge of good and evil came yet man knows good and evil different from the way God knows good and evil because man had partaken of the nature of death and had had an activated conscience that was to corrupt him so man now had the knowledge of good and evil good and evil, good and evil previously there was no knowledge of good and evil he had perfect fellowship with God but now the knowledge of good and evil and where does it come from? The conscience the conscience now the word conscience conscience, even when you mention it there is science in it, the word science is in it it's like saying conscience conscience you know science is knowledge conscience deals with knowledge in fact in etymology it's from the Latin word con-cio c-o-n con, which means c-o-n, not not con, as in the food we eat, c-o-n which means, it's a Latin word means with, and c-o s-c-i-o c-o means I know I know c-o-n, con so conscience actually is so it's I I know, then with it has to do with the knowledge you know with yourself or against yourself what you know with yourself or against yourself now when you do good, what approves that you have done good is your conscience, when you do bad what approves that you have done bad is your conscience your conscience either accuses you or excuses you aha, that's your conscience how do you know what you are doing is bad, your conscience how do you know what you are doing is good, it's the conscience praise God but the conscience in itself is not very accurate because of the fall praise God and the truth is that the moment Adam's conscience was activated what was the result, he started hiding from God now God devastated him like ordinary times Adam where are you he had hidden behind one of the trees of the garden so man began to hide from God and man began to run away from God that's what the conscience does because the conscience is the organ responsible for guilt and condemnation so man instantly says I was naked because I was afraid and I hid myself, now all of these things were coming shame shame shame shame shame shame shame shame shame sin sin sin sin sin sin sin They mean while accusing or else excusing one another. He's saying that, look, the Gentiles, the law is written in our hearts. And there's a conscience that is either accusing us or excusing us. So everyone is born with a conscience. Praise God. Now, the conscience is one of our major problems. That is why the reason you have been running away from God is just because of the conscience. The conscience. But in the redemption, something has been done. Something has been done. Now, one of the reasons why people don't want to come to church, you know why? It's because they are afraid that when they come to church, their conscience will be exposed. Now, that's one of the reasons why people don't come to church. Because they know God as holy. But they don't know God as savior. They know God as judge, but they don't know him as redeemer. So, they are afraid because when they come and the word comes, their conscience, their consciences are exposed. And instantly, they feel guilty and condemned. So, to avoid that, they won't go to church at all. But the truth is that in the New Testament, the light of the gospel does not expose our sins. It exposes the perfect work of redemption. That has been done through the blood of Jesus. That's what it exposes, the perfection of redemption in the blood of Jesus. The red blood seal of a perfect redemption. That's what happens. Do you know why we have so many atheists today? One of the reasons is that in Romans 1.28, the Bible says that, and because they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate. A reprobate mind to do such things that were not even convenient. So, they did not like to retain God in their knowledge. So, because the more God, the more, you see, they want to do all the evil they want to do without any restriction. They want to do all the bad things they want to do without any restriction. So, when they receive the knowledge of God, it's a problem for them. Because their conscience will use that to expose them. And to tell them they are wrong. And to even condemn them. So, with that in mind, we are going to talk about the gospel. We don't want God. We don't want to go to this church business. We don't even want it. That is why the church must.
Speaker 2Doctors upon Father
Speaker 1Joseph and your wives. You are welcome. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. That is why the church should not preach condemnation. Yeah, because it will scare souls away. Because already, their conscience exposes them. They know God as holy, but they don't know Him as Savior. You must preach no condemnation. Your conscience. And today, even as believers, one of the greatest things that actually inhibits your progress in the faith has to do with the conscience. The conscience. Has to do with the conscience. For example, in 1 Timothy 1, verse 18 and 19. Let's see what it says. This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy. According to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou mightest wage a good warfare. So, Timothy, the prophecies that have gone before you, yeah, I want you to wage a good warfare. Holding faith in a good conscience. You see, without a good conscience, your faith will not work. Which some haven't put aside concerning faith have made shipwreck. So, without. Do you know what it means to have faith with a good conscience? If you don't have a good conscience, your faith will not work. For example, you are believing God for something. And you are praying, thanking God. Thank you, Father. Father, I'm believing you for this and this. As you are praying, then you remember that for the past three days, you've not read your Bible. So, as you are praying, condemnation starts coming. Then your boldness and confidence starts winning. Korabba, zabba, korabba, zabba, korabba, zabba, ka. Then you also remember that, oh, three days, two days ago, you even gossiped. So, the pressure now comes to you. Then your faith starts going down. So, the faith is there, but there's no good conscience. Because the conscience is plagued with evil consciousness. It's a defiled conscience. Yeah, with sin consciousness. So, when you have that, your faith will not actually become effective. Example, you are praying for a sick person. Someone has come to be healed. And as you are about to lay hands, you remember that for the past one month, you have not even fasted. So, someone is telling you that you are powerless. The power is not flowing. And as you lay hands, you are praying and something starts telling you that, look. You have not been praying. You know, I mean, so, you have been disqualification. So, the confidence to pray for the person. instead of looking to him what he has done, you are looking to you what you have not done. I'm telling you that if you want to measure yourself as the standard, you will never measure up when you believe in God. And the reason why you have all of these problems is because of the conscience. That is why the conscience must be properly programmed with the word of God. Yeah. So he says, holding faith and a good conscience. Without that, you'll make a shipwreck. You'll have an accident. Faith accident, shipwreck. Your faith will not work. That's what he's saying. That is why when you read Mark 11, 23. Mark 11, 23. Jesus says that, For verily I say unto you that whosoever shall say to this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou removed, be thou cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart. In fact, this word doubt is not really the word for doubt. It's the word diacrino. Diacrino. From two words. Dia means through, and crino means condemnation. The word is through condemnation. So he caused that doubt. And shall not doubt in his heart. So as you are praying, you are disqualifying yourself. You are feeling condemned. He caused that doubt. You are praying for someone, for your mother, for anything. You disqualify yourself. I have not prayed well. A lot of things you have not done well. Instead of looking to him, you are looking to yourself. So you are looking to. If you can condemn yourself for what you have not done, then you can also be prideful for what you have done. Yeah. Yeah. Condemnation is what I have not done. Pride is what I have done. We are all not correct. But you have to look to him, Jesus himself. Hallelujah. So, the greatest problem in our Christian work has been, has to do with our conscience. But Jesus actually finished the work. For instance, in 1 Timothy 4 verse 1, the Bible says that, the Spirit speaketh expressly. Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in a latter time, some shall depart from the faith. Amazing. Some shall. The word depart here in the Greek is a slow departure. Someone who is departing so slowly, that he does not even know he has made some strides. It is a very slow departure. He is not even aware that he has departed that far. Aha. The faith. Now, there is a difference between faith and the faith. Whenever you see the faith, that is primarily justification. Justification by faith. Galatians 3 verse 23 and 24. If you get it from the YLT, it will help you. Aha. The Bible speaks of, when there is a definite article there, the faith. The faith. And before the coming of the faith, and the law, we were being kept, shut up to the faith, about to be revealed. So the law became our child conductor to Christ, that by, the Greek says, by the faith, who may be declared righteous. King James says justified. It is the faith that brought us justification. The faith. So he says that in a lot of times, some shall depart from the faith. What is happening is that they will depart from the centrality of the faith. People will not believe they are even righteous again, based on what Jesus did. And the work of justification is all the work, work, work, work, work, work, and not what Jesus has done. Aha. The Bible says they will depart from the faith. Aha. And what will happen? The next verse. The next verse. 1 Timothy 4. Speaking lies and hypocrisy, having your conscience seared with a hot iron. You see, you can be a believer, but you can have your conscience seared with a hot iron. The word seared is katerizo, where you get the word to katerize. It's to katerize. It means to. To burn with an iron. Yeah. If I put iron at your back. Aha. That place become callous or be numbed. It's seared. But, the word katerizo have its real meaning according to Theia. If you know Theia, these are the top Greek scholars of the New Testament. If you want to understand anything, you have to consult Theia. Hallelujah. Yeah, it's a stronger Greek version. So, Theia describes seared katerizo as, that is a seared conscience, as a people who are permanently troubled with some kind of sin-consciousness. That's Theia. People who are constantly plagued with sin-consciousness. Yeah. Permanently. It's a permanent state of having sin-consciousness. That's the word seared. Aha. That's actually the Greek interpretation. Permanently. It's a permanent state. It's a permanent state of being troubled. Troubled with the sense of sin-consciousness. You know what it means? Every time I have sinned, I've sinned. Hey, I've sinned. What will God do? I've sinned. Anything you do, you are disqualifying yourself. That's the state of having a seared conscience, according to Theia. Aha. I've sinned, I've sinned. Hey, God is angry with me. Hey, even when you read the Bible, hey, it's not enough. God is not pleased when you pray. Hey, I should have gone extra hour. God is not happy. Hey, hey, God, every time. Hmm, hmm, God, you know? Everything you do, sin-consciousness. It's a very bad state to be in. I've been there before. I've been there before as a believer on fire. So I used to confess my sins more than 100 times a day. Yes! Yeah, because of what had been taught. Because I was afraid that the rapture will come and I'll miss it. Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! So every time. And unfortunately, they told me that even your walking can be sin. Yes! So I used to confess the sin of walking. Yes! Yeah, that's how wild it was. I used to have a fellowship, lead a certain fellowship. And those days, if you come, you're going to be a saint. And you confess your sins an hour before you come in. Yeah, at the entrance. You have to confess. So we confess that, even we confess sins we have not committed. Sin's ahead of time, prepaid. Sin's of omission, sin's of commission. If a thought crosses my head, there was this one day I was preaching as a young guy. A thought crossed my head, so I did this. I was confessing our thoughts before I continued preaching. Because I thought that if I'm preaching, the rapture comes. The congregation will go and I will remain. One day I heard a story of a certain preacher. He said, it was a football match. And he was a keeper. And he felt that he had sinned against God. So in the heat of the match, he went to one side of the pool to confess his sins before he realized. So that state, that's what I'm describing as, Thayer describes as, it's a feminine state of people who are. Plagued and troubled with a conscience of sin, sin consciousness, I'm wrong, I'm wrong. God is not happy. It's a feminine state. A God that's sealed with a hot iron. That's Thayer's definition. Praise God. In the old testament, something happened. At the Yom Kippur, which was a year of atonement, it was the greatest day in Israel. So what happened was that, at the Yom Kippur, which was a year of atonement, it was the greatest day in Israel. Something happened. So what happened was that there, the high priest would lay his hands on a goat. So he offers a bull and two goats on that day, and he makes atonement for Israel. And for the whole year, your sons are atoned for, for one year, it was a blessed state. In fact, because he confessed the sins upon the head of the goat, called the scapegoat, and the goat goes away with your sons and never comes back and dies, your sons never returns. So for one year, they are free. Now the Jew Let me show you the understanding of the Jew After the sons have been atoned for one year Today is the day of atonement The next day when a Jew wakes up in the morning And he misses it Or he does something wrong He does have some consciousness He knows it has already been forgiven Because atonement Was a prepayment for a year So he is not troubled No, no, no, because it has been paid That was a Jew At the Yom Kippur And that was the efficacy of the blood of bulls and goats For one year The next day he doesn't He is not troubled Because he knows it has been paid for That is a Jew And God says that That sacrifice wasn't perfect Because after a year They have to be mindful They have to be mindful of their sins again That it has to be paid for again So because of the yearly Subscription of their sins Being paid for God says it wasn't good Because at the end of one year There should be a renewal of payment For another year So the yearly payment brought forth Yearly remembrance of sin And God said it wasn't perfect Look at Hebrews 9 verse 9 Hebrews 9 verse 9 Which was a figure Of the time then present In which way offered both Gifts and sacrifices That could not make him That did the service perfect As pertaining It could not make him That did the service perfect As pertaining to the conscience See the sacrifices couldn't make Couldn't give them perfect conscience Aha In Romans 10 verse 1 And especially verse 2 Yeah Because the worshippers One's Pays should have had no more Conscience or consciousness of sins So God said It wasn't good Because God wanted a perfect conscience A conscience where there is no debt On the conscience that I have sinned I'm owing I need to pay God didn't want that And God says the yearly subscription wasn't enough Yearly Yearly What a shame on us It was yearly And Christians are crying daily God says the yearly reminder of sin Was not good for their conscience Because it was paid for the year And the year they know they are free But when Jesus Christ came He didn't pay for one year He paid once forever All your future sins have been paid for Yeah If your future sins were not paid for Jesus' death wasn't complete All your future sins were paid for It is once and for all There's no sacrifice again That's the ultimate and that's the final sacrifice Nothing to be paid again Aha So the believer Today If you walk in sin consciousness Hey God is angry with me God will not forgive me It's actually an insult to your benefactor You are actually saying that The blood of Jesus Christ The son of God Is less efficient Than the blood of bulls and goats Because the blood of bulls and goats Could cater for their sins for a year And you are saying the blood of Jesus Cannot cater for your sins And God is saying that the reason The blood of Jesus is because There should be no more conscience of sins again Can you imagine? Because there should be no more debt on your conscience again Again Not when you have not sinned When you have even sinned That's what I'm talking about There should be no more conscience of sins He paid He paid That's the efficacy of his sacrifice He paid No more That's the word No more No more conscience of sins No more at all Hallelujah And now Yeah If you walk in sin consciousness That you have sinned God will not forgive you God is angry with you You are saying that The sacrifice of Jesus was not accepted By The supreme court of the universe Divine justice Inflexible justice You are saying that Justice did not accept The sacrifice Jesus offered That's what you are saying Because if truly it was offered No more conscience of sins Hallelujah Praise God So that's it So the conscience problem has been solved By Jesus' blood If our sins had not been paid for Your sins hasn't been paid for for a year The payment is not a year The payment is for a year The payment is forever When you are born again All your sins were paid for In fact Jesus died Every sin is paid for From your birth To your departure from the earth Everything has been covered So there should be no debt again You are free That is why sin cannot rule over you That's it Sin cannot rule over you Because your sins have been forgiven That's what it means Sin cannot have dominion over you Because your sins have been forgiven That's it If your sins were not forgiven Sin could have ruled your lives That's the biblical concept Of your sins being forgiven Hallelujah Now in Romans chapter 7 In Romans 7 You know There has been an age-old Theological bone of contention As regarding Romans chapter 7 If you follow carefully So many schools of understanding One says that Romans 7 Is about Paul's Unregenerate state When he was not yet born again As a Jew under the law That was his experience The other one also says that No It was actually Paul as a believer And that was A kind of struggles he had This was the two major Bone of contention Down through the ages of The history of the church Hallelujah Okay I'll share with you what I believe And what I've seen In the scriptures Hallelujah Actually You realize that Romans 7 Is describing Paul's state As a believer As a believer For some reasons Because Paul was a believer I'm telling you Because All the tenses The Greek tenses Paul used in describing All that he was struggling Were all in the present tense Present progressive tense Not in the aorist tense Not in the aorist active tense Or something In the Greek It was in the present tense Yeah So Let's start from verse Verse 14 For we know that the law is spiritual But I am cannot soothe under sin For that which I do I allow not For what I would That I do not But what I hate That I do The next verse If then I do that Which I would not I consent unto the law That it is good Now it is no more I that do it But sin that dwelleth in me For I know that in me That is That is In my flesh dwelleth no good thing For the will is present with me But how to perform that Which is good I find not Now Paul First of all The tenses were all in the present tense Not in his past That's a first And one of the verses That also confuses many Is because of verse 14 Look at verse 14 Verse 14 Verse 14 It says that For we know that the law is spiritual But I am cannot soothe under sin We know the believer is not soothe under sin Because the believer has experienced The power of redemption Is that not so? Yeah He has experienced what is called The agorazo and the ex-agorazo The marketplace of sin He's been brought But why is Paul saying So it made many to say that It means that Paul cannot be a believer And still be soothe under sin But you have to interpret it According to context And you have to interpret it Now Paul is speaking In relationship With the law Or to the law He's talking about the law He says For we know that the law is spiritual Now in the previous verses He's speaking about the law And what the law does And what the law did Okay Now he's talking about the law For we know that the law is spiritual But I am cannot I am fleshly Soothe under sin Okay The word soothe Is the word Peprasco Has to do with Giving yourself to serve sin To the service of sin It speaks of the bondage of sin Having mastery over you When sin has the mastery over you Or sin has the dominance over you Sin has The dominion over you That's the word peprasco The word for soothed Now This experience Is not far from the believer If the believer Comes under the law Because the context Of these verses Was the law You can start way ahead From verse 7 He's speaking about the law What the law When a believer comes under the law He comes under the bondage of sin That's the word peprasco Peprasco means Sin now has mastery over you Remember that the bible says that For sin shall not have dominion over you Because ye are not under the law But under grace Then you also remember In 1 Corinthians 15 verse 56 That the bible says that Sin shall not have dominion over you The strength of sin is the law The strength of sin is the law So Can you imagine that that the strength of sin is the law. So when a believer comes under the law, the law does not strengthen you against sin. The law strengthens sin against you. The strength, and the law in context here is the Ten Commandments. See, the strength of sin, 1 Corinthians 15 verse 56, the strength of sin is the law. So under the law, the Greek says the dunamis of sin, the dynamite and energy of sin is the law. So what it means is that under the law, a believer comes under the law. The law does not strengthen him against sin. The law strengthens sin against him. So now sin rules and has dominion over him. That's the idea of this verse. And because sin has the mastery over him, he's now serving sin. Why? Because he's come under law. That's what Paul is saying. Praise God. Yeah, that's what he's saying. Because, now, one of the reasons why we have thought that this experience is the experience of the old man, yes, the old man, before we go born again, is because of the proper understanding of the flesh. The flesh. Flesh. Flesh. Some of the versions, there's a difference between the old man and the flesh. They're not the same. But some of the versions didn't separate them. Some of the versions actually call the flesh the sinful nature. So they describe the old man as a flesh. So when Paul speaks of the flesh, they now begin to think that he's talking about his state as an unbeliever. No, there's a difference between the old man and the flesh. The two are different. Praise God. They're different. In Christ, the old man has been crucified once and for all. But, the believer still has the flesh. The believer still has the flesh. Or you think you don't have the flesh? Experientially, you know you have the flesh. Yeah, the believer still has the flesh, but you don't have the old man. You don't have the old man. The old man is dead. I'll talk about it again. The old man is dead, but you have the flesh. You see, your spirit is born again, but your body is not born again. Your body is not born again. And when the Bible speaks of flesh, it's not your body. Although the word flesh also is used to, describe the body. But the flesh is a kind of lower nature. It's a kind of composite, lies between the soul and the body. The flesh is still there, but the old man, I'll talk about it, is gone. So, because of that misinterpretation, misinterpretation, people thought that we don't still have the flesh, but we have the flesh. So, I'm going to explain Paul's struggles in the light of Romans 8. Because Paul, is describing the kind of struggle he had within him. Because the flesh is still there. The flesh is still there. That is why he can tell the Galatians that work in the spirit so that you will not fulfill the desires of the flesh. Because the flesh has its own desires. They are not correct. It has desires of the flesh. So, the whole of Romans 7, from verse 14, Paul is talking about the kind of, a kind of fight. A kind of fight between the flesh and the spirit. There's a fight. There's a fight. The moment you got born again, you enter into a civil war. You enter into an inward battle between your flesh and your spirit. That is in Romans 7. It cannot be an unbeliever. Unbelievers don't have that struggle. Because for the unbeliever, there's no restriction. If he wants to do evil, nothing restricts him. He goes ahead to do it. But with the believer, when he wants to do, the desire for evil comes. There is something in you that is fighting against it. And there's an aspect of you that desires it. Like Galatians 5. Galatians 5, verse 16. Thus I say, thus I say, then work in the spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Look at verse 17. For the flesh lusted against the spirit. Maybe we should read NET so that you get an easier understanding. For the flesh has desires that are opposed to the spirit. Now whenever, let me show you something. Whenever you read the Bible and it's distinguishing flesh and spirit, it's not your flesh and the Holy Spirit. No, no, no, no. The Holy Spirit is God. I beg you. He's talking about, he's talking about our anatomy. He's talking about you're born against spirit and your flesh. Because, it's the same Greek word, pneuma. So sometimes we cannot tell whether it's our recreated human spirit or the Holy Spirit. But you can know it in context. So when he's talking about the works of the flesh and the fruits of the spirit, when he's talking about the wrestle between the spirit and the flesh, it's not the Holy Spirit. It's your spirit and your flesh. Like this verse. So he says, for the flesh has desires that are opposed to the spirit. Actually your spirit. But the Holy Spirit is joined with your spirit as one. That's the good news. And the spirit has desires that are opposed to the flesh. So these are in opposition to each other in you. There's no in you. I'm adding it in you. So that you cannot do what you want. So your flesh is telling you to do something wild. Something wild. Your flesh is giving you text messages. And your spirit is saying, don't go. Don't go. Don't go. But the flesh is telling the desires, giving you memories. This thing will be nice. Nicer than pizza. Nicer than ice cream. It's so chilling. But your spirit says, no, no. So there's a wrestle within you. And all believers experience that. There's a civil war. Every believer experiences that. That is the experience of Romans 7. But unbelievers have no such experience. Because there is no spirit that is regenerated that opposes the desires in their flesh. You understand? That's why Romans 7 is an experience of the Christian life. But we have to know the way to victory. Which Paul found. I find then a law that when I will do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after my inward man. But I see another law in my members. Worrying against the law of my mind. And bringing me into the captivity of the law of sin. Which is in my members. Oh wretched man that I am. Who delivered me from the body of this death. So there is a struggle. How many of you have struggled before? I don't know what is happening to me. Why are all these thoughts bombarding me? Why are all these desires? Why? Why? The good news is that Apostle Paul explains the same thing. Paul explains the same thing. Paul explains the same thing you are experiencing. The same thing. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Praise God. Hallelujah. He says oh wretched man that I am. I've explained this verse in the time of church some years ago. The body of this death is like he's talking about the encumbrance of a lifeless body. In Roman times when you commit murder you know what they did? They will not kill you. Now when you kill somebody they will take the person's body the dead body and they will tie it on your body and bind it together with you. So wherever you go you are carrying that dead body at your back. And you can't let it go. No. So whilst the body is decaying it's still at your back with all the smell. Everywhere you carry the encumbrance of a dead body. That's a description of the word oh wretched man that I am. Paul is saying he has a spirit that is alive but he has a body that is not alive which has sin in it. Which is also the body of death. And his spirit is carrying that's what he's talking about. Praise God. Alright. Romans 8 verse 4. I just finished my introduction. we've done one year it's left one year verse three romance in verse three rather okay so it's an explanation to the verse one so let me take a little by little he says that for what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh you see um the law actually cannot help you the way it could not help our support the reason the law cannot help you is not because the law is weak or the law is bad but the law becomes weak because of our flesh because whenever you want to obey the law the law requires your flesh to obey it we know that the law is spiritual in fact the law is holy the law is perfect perfect the law is righteous nothing wrong with the law but everything wrong with my flesh for what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh it's like saying that let's say you are in a ship and the ship is getting to the harbor and we need to cast anchor you know the anchor the anchor of a ship it needs a rock to hold the anchor but if you take the anchor and cast it in in the mud what will happen the mud cannot hold the vessel so the vessel can even become shipwrecked or tossed about with tempest so nothing wrong with the anchor but the anchor is weak through the mud so it cannot actually help the ship the law is very perfect but when it comes to the flesh instead of helping us it actually destroyed us so i use simple experiments of a glass of water if you have a glass of water very clean and have some sediments under the top is clean the down is dead that is how all of us our flesh is you look very nice but there is some things
Speaker 2in the flesh
Speaker 1yeah so the top is nice color clear and colorless with insipid taste h2o but the down part is the dead the sedimentation it has settled okay so that's the flesh the law is a spoon now you look very you have no problem in life you are living a very godly life nice and they give you the law thou shall not commit adultery okay life becomes money you and this this is it so people have wondered the ten commandments is they are very wonderful but why do you say we are not under the under the law are you saying we should go and commit adultery that's not it he says thou shall not commit adultery but what is wrong with it the bible says the law is good but it cannot help you so the law is like the mixing spoon the word came thou shall not steal thou shall not kill it came to you then you tried not to do it the law always requires the flesh to obey. And when you wanted to not commit adultery, you wanted to not look at a woman lustfully. You know when Jesus Christ came, he preached the law then he preached grace. Because they have muddied the law, so he restored the law to its highest glory. So you can know what it means. The law had to expose man's wretchedness before he can receive the Savior. So if you bring the law down, man will not see his need for a Savior. He thinks he can save himself. So he raised the law. That's the purpose of the Sermon on the Mount. To its highest glory. So that nobody can obey the law. So they will see the need of a Savior. You understand? Aha. So murder is not just killing someone. Hatred is equal to murder. Covetousness is equal to adultery. Collusions. Lust is equal to adultery. That's the proper law. That's the law. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So when you say, don't do this. Now the flesh says, okay, I will not do it. They know what the law does. The law is a mixing spoon. It now stirs up the water. And that it stirs the water. What was the sedimentation now comes up. So the Bible says that the law, you know what the law did? It aroused the motions of sins. That's why in our flesh. It aroused it. It stirred it up. So that you know you shouldn't commit adultery. But in trying not to commit, you commit more. Because the flesh, the desires are now stirred. In trying to do what is good, it is now stirred. Now you do what is worse. So now the law, instead of strengthening you against sin, it's strengthening sin against you. So the Bible says the law came that sin might appear exceedingly sinful. Apart from the law, sin was dead. For by the law is the knowledge of sin. When the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. You understand. So Paul is saying, the law could not help. What the law could not do. So every believer, when you come to Jesus because you love the Lord, you fall under this counter place where you are, you struggle. Let me continue when you understand. Paul says, for what the law could not do, it was weak through the flesh. Praise God. Yeah. If you read the story of the pilgrims, pilgrims progress, they were going to that city. The golden city or the holy city. And they entered into a hall. They sat together and they were all eating in a hall. But the place was dusty, but they were okay. Someone took a broom to sweep the hall. And now, the dust that was settled was still in the whole room and they were now dying because of the dust. The flesh was relaxed. It's okay. But the law is the broom. It now stirred up the dust in the flesh to cause you to die. Uh-huh. So, that's what the law does. The law will stir up the sedimentation of some. That's just lying in your flesh. And you begin to do worse. So, we don't live by the flesh. That's we live by identity. Because your spirit is born again. Who you are in Christ. That's how we can live the proper Christian life. Hallelujah. So, for what the law could not do, it was weak through the flesh. You understand now, right? It was weak. God sent in his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh. God sending his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh. What does it mean? Sinful flesh means the flesh of sin. God sent his own son in the likeness of the flesh of sin and for sin offering. That's what it means. God sent his own son in the likeness of the flesh of sin. In the likeness of the flesh. Sinful flesh is the flesh of sin. We have the flesh of sin. Jesus had flesh, but there was no sin in his flesh. He came in the likeness of the flesh of sin and for sin offering. And for sin there is actually sin offering. Jesus came just like you and me. He came as a man. He partook of flesh and blood. Outwardly, just like us. But there is something we have he didn't have. We have sin in us. He didn't have sin in him. Do you remember what Jesus is preaching to Nicodemus? Do you know that John 3 16 was preached by Jesus to Nicodemus? And I think in verse 14, Jesus told Nicodemus, as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the son of man be lifted up. And Jesus was preaching himself to Nicodemus. Jesus is saying that the one lifted up is the cross. You see, Moses lifted up a serpent of brass in the desert on a pole. The same way he said he Jesus would be lifted up on a pole, on a cross. So Jesus says that he is a fulfillment of that serpent's brass. What does it mean? In Numbers 21, the mermaid and serpent came from the sand and began to bite them. And they were bitten by poisonous serpents. And Moses made a serpent of brass. Now, serpent, serpentine nature is a sinful nature. Okay. Now, Jesus says that he is the serpent of brass. On the cross. So we have a serpent of brass. The form is the same as serpent, but there is no poison of a serpent in it. Jesus came in our likeness, but the serpentine nature of sin was not in him. So he had our form, but didn't have our sin. The same way you can see a serpent of brass. It just looks like a serpent, but it doesn't have the poison of a serpent. Praise God. So Jesus is that serpent of brass. In the Bible, brass is a symbol of judgment meaning he took our nature he took our he became us on the cross to be able to take our sin for our judgment because serpents brass is always a biblical symbolism of judgment so jesus so i'm trying to explain that he just came like us so he can receive our sin he's a serpent of brass the brazen serpent just like us but without sin but just like us to be able to take our son and take our judgment please are you are you with me for what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh it's a god sending his own son in the likeness of the flesh of sin and for sin offering condemned sin in the flesh condemned sin in the flesh condemned sin in the flesh now this is my message what does it mean for jesus to condemn sin in the flesh remember he doesn't say he condemns sons he condemns son in the bible there's a difference between sons and son there are two different greek words son is harmatia sons is harmatano now when the bible says son is the noun it's a noun and sons is a verb son is the nature of sin but sons is the action of sins please follow him son is a root sons is the fruit so he condemned not our sons actually our sons were washed in his blood you have to know what happened on the cross when it comes to our sons they were all washed by his blood revelation 1 5 unto him that loved us and washed away our sins in his own blood yeah first corinthians 6 verse 11 and such were some of you but ye are washed but ye are sanctified but ye are justified by the name of the lord and by the spirit of our god john 13 verse 10 he that is washed needed not safe to wash his feet but he's completely clean so we have been washed all our sons have been washed by the blood hebrews 10 verse 2 says the worshipers once purged once and for all purified so you have been once and for all in a greek it's in a perfect sense that means you have been purified once and for all with permanent results but cannot be repeated so when we're born again you have been washed and brought to a state of perfection once and for all it cannot be repeated hallelujah you have been made holy once and for all you are not in your sense again if christ be not raised from the dead then your faith is vain and ye are yet in your sons but now christ is raised from the dead so we are no more in our sons that's what yeah first corinthians 15 verse 17 we are no more in our sons and our faith is not vain so i want you to know that all our many sons past present future the blood of jesus dealt with it praise god that is sons now let's talk about son there's what the blood did there's what the cross did you see that the blood didn't deal with our son the blood dealt with our sons and the cross dealt with our son the blood dealt with our sons that's the many sins we have done all the sins we have done were washed by the blood by the cross that would because sin was a nature in us and we're born with it the cross has to we have to be crucified do you understand because it's a nature okay so now we've dealt with sons by the blood the bible says he condemned son in the flesh let's go back to our anchor scripture and for some condemned son in the flesh condemned son in the flesh okay praise god i follow him now there's a difference between the old man and the flesh there's something you have to understand there's a difference between the old man and the flesh to understand the old man if don't know the to understand the old man if don't know the to understand the old man if don't know the difference you miss appropriate and not be difference you miss appropriate and not be difference you miss appropriate and not be blessed by some of the things is as they blessed by some of the things is as they blessed by some of the things is as they by what you just did and how to by what you just did and how to by what you just did and how to appropriate it to understand the old man appropriate it to understand the old man appropriate it to understand the old man the old man deals with our spirit now to the old man deals with our spirit now to the old man deals with our spirit now to understand the old man you have to understand the old man you have to understand the old man you have to understand a new man which part of you is understand a new man which part of you is understand a new man which part of you is a new man your spirit is I know so why a new man your spirit is I know so why a new man your spirit is I know so why is your spirit a new man because it has is your spirit a new man because it has is your spirit a new man because it has been born again with a life in the been born again with a life in the been born again with a life in the nature of God but prior to that your nature of God but prior to that your nature of God but prior to that your spirit was the old man because that is spirit was the old man because that is spirit was the old man because that is where the effect of sin affected the where the effect of sin affected the where the effect of sin affected the most and your spirit satan's diabolical most and your spirit satan's diabolical most and your spirit satan's diabolical nature was breathed into your spirit so nature was breathed into your spirit so nature was breathed into your spirit so your spirit became the old man the old your spirit became the old man the old your spirit became the old man the old man is the totality of all that we man is the totality of all that we man is the totality of all that we received from Adam it was your spirit received from Adam it was your spirit received from Adam it was your spirit aha but now that it was crucified with aha but now that it was crucified with aha but now that it was crucified with Christ dead and buried and was raised Christ dead and buried and was raised Christ dead and buried and was raised you have a resurrected spirit that you have a resurrected spirit that you have a resurrected spirit that becomes a new man so the old man deals becomes a new man so the old man deals becomes a new man so the old man deals with our spirit but a new man deals with with our spirit but a new man deals with with our spirit but a new man deals with our flesh so but a flesh so I want you our flesh so but a flesh so I want you our flesh so but a flesh so I want you to see a difference between the old the to see a difference between the old the to see a difference between the old the old man is your spirit but the flesh is old man is your spirit but the flesh is old man is your spirit but the flesh is your your flesh how do I the flesh is your your flesh how do I the flesh is your your flesh how do I the flesh is your flesh praise God so they are your flesh praise God so they are your flesh praise God so they are different your old man died once and for different your old man died once and for different your old man died once and for all it's not the new man uh-huh but all it's not the new man uh-huh but all it's not the new man uh-huh but before it died it has left its before it died it has left its before it died it has left its deposits its strongholds its habits in deposits its strongholds its habits in deposits its strongholds its habits in the flesh it colonized the flesh and the flesh it colonized the flesh and the flesh it colonized the flesh and left its deposit in the flesh and it's left its deposit in the flesh and it's left its deposit in the flesh and it's all even all even all even programmed the mind into its way of programmed the mind into its way of programmed the mind into its way of operation so when your spirit is born operation so when your spirit is born operation so when your spirit is born again your mind like computer if it is again your mind like computer if it is again your mind like computer if it is programmed it will function the way it programmed it will function the way it programmed it will function the way it was programmed until it is reprogrammed was programmed until it is reprogrammed was programmed until it is reprogrammed so you can be born again your spirit so you can be born again your spirit so you can be born again your spirit and your mind is thinking after the order and your mind is thinking after the order and your mind is thinking after the order of the old man that's why you have to of the old man that's why you have to of the old man that's why you have to be new in the spirit of your mind but the be new in the spirit of your mind but the be new in the spirit of your mind but the flesh has sin in it it has its desires flesh has sin in it it has its desires flesh has sin in it it has its desires and passion so the flesh is the and passion so the flesh is the and passion so the flesh is the unredeemed part of you but your spirit unredeemed part of you but your spirit unredeemed part of you but your spirit is totally born again praise God now is totally born again praise God now is totally born again praise God now understand that so I've just what understand that so I've just what understand that so I've just what happened on the cross what happened to happened on the cross what happened to happened on the cross what happened to your old man your old man your old man it died with Christ it was crucified it died with Christ it was crucified it died with Christ it was crucified now when it comes to some follow me now when it comes to some follow me now when it comes to some follow me carefully son there was something your carefully son there was something your carefully son there was something your old man there was sin in your flesh the old man there was sin in your flesh the old man there was sin in your flesh the sin in your old man was crucified but sin in your old man was crucified but sin in your old man was crucified but the sin your flesh was condemned praise the sin your flesh was condemned praise the sin your flesh was condemned praise God hmm are you here because the sin God hmm are you here because the sin God hmm are you here because the sin your old man was crucified your old man was crucified your old man was crucified your born-again spirit cannot sin again your born-again spirit cannot sin again your born-again spirit cannot sin again that's what about Z is that he that is that's what about Z is that he that is that's what about Z is that he that is one of God cannot some he's not talking one of God cannot some he's not talking one of God cannot some he's not talking about your flesh he's talking about your about your flesh he's talking about your about your flesh he's talking about your spirit your spirit is born of God it spirit your spirit is born of God it spirit your spirit is born of God it cannot sin because knowing this that our cannot sin because knowing this that our cannot sin because knowing this that our old man is crucified with Christ it is old man is crucified with Christ it is old man is crucified with Christ it is in the Aries tense is one same for all in the Aries tense is one same for all in the Aries tense is one same for all crucified crucified crucified buried was a buried dead and buried now buried was a buried dead and buried now buried was a buried dead and buried now resurrected as a brand-new spirit aha so resurrected as a brand-new spirit aha so resurrected as a brand-new spirit aha so there's nothing in it for your spirit to there's nothing in it for your spirit to there's nothing in it for your spirit to sin because the Bible says in 1st John 1 sin because the Bible says in 1st John 1 sin because the Bible says in 1st John 1 9 it cannot son because sin was 9 it cannot son because sin was 9 it cannot son because sin was crucified in your old man but sin was crucified in your old man but sin was crucified in your old man but sin was still crucified in your flesh it was still crucified in your flesh it was condemned that is why you stood if sin condemned that is why you stood if sin condemned that is why you stood if sin was condemned in your flesh there should was condemned in your flesh there should was condemned in your flesh there should be no way you could ever some I thought be no way you could ever some I thought be no way you could ever some I thought crucified it was condemned that's what I crucified it was condemned that's what I crucified it was condemned that's what I want to talk about praise God and for want to talk about praise God and for want to talk about praise God and for sin condemned sin in the flesh he sin condemned sin in the flesh he sin condemned sin in the flesh he condemned sin in the flesh I see the condemned sin in the flesh I see the condemned sin in the flesh I see the differences okay so there's the old man differences okay so there's the old man differences okay so there's the old man had son crucified and it was dead and had son crucified and it was dead and had son crucified and it was dead and buried and reborn so because it soon was buried and reborn so because it soon was buried and reborn so because it soon was crucified in the old man the door man crucified in the old man the door man crucified in the old man the door man was crucified it cannot sin again but sin was crucified it cannot sin again but sin was crucified it cannot sin again but sin in the flesh was not crucified it was in the flesh was not crucified it was in the flesh was not crucified it was condemned if it was crucified there was condemned if it was crucified there was condemned if it was crucified there was no way you cannot sin again you no way you cannot sin again you no way you cannot sin again you understand but what does it mean that understand but what does it mean that understand but what does it mean that jesus condemned sin in the flesh jesus condemned sin in the flesh jesus condemned sin in the flesh actually what a sin in the flesh actually what a sin in the flesh actually what a sin in the flesh because because because the word here is also a noun the word here is also a noun the word here is also a noun now sin in the flesh is talking about the now sin in the flesh is talking about the now sin in the flesh is talking about the sin principle sin principle sin principle in the flesh in the flesh in the flesh the sin principle in the flesh the sin principle in the flesh the sin principle in the flesh there there there proclivity the propensities the proclivity the propensities the proclivity the propensities the inclinations of sin inclinations of sin Water rises up, the desire is within. the flesh your spirit is born again but we all experience it I'm here with me the flesh the sin principle in the flesh for instance you can be in the home and you can say this church business I'm done with it you have feelings within you that says forget about this whole church business forget about that and just go and do something on your own that desire springs up within you from the flesh from the flesh but you know you are born again you are tongue talking but it rises within you and you forget about it you may be sitting in this congregation very holy but you look at this preacher and you are saying that what is he doing up here you look at bishop and go like ah this man see how nice he is he must be chopping our money someone saw a friend who was married after the wedding he just looked at his friend and said I wish I was the one who was married to this lady I would have been a better person for this lady the thought arises within where does it come from you see it's not demonic oppression this is rising from within it's rising from within a certain pastor's wife in fact one of the well known pastors who have ever walked the earth he says that a powerful man of God at the time was designed that her husband would die so that she can have her freedom and do whatever this is a very holy woman of God and she even said it she was desiring that this man and if I tell you the man you will be shocked because everybody would love to marry that man but she was desiring that she wish that man her husband was dead where did that come from a man of God confessed to me that he was preaching and he saw a very beautiful lady sitting in the congregation and when he saw the lady he just said oh Jesus Christ then this is what he said he said oh Jesus Christ why did I rush to marry my wife and I said why did I rush to marry my wife and I said why he said why the lady just looked like everything she wanted he wanted in a woman was encapsulated as he was preaching he kept gazing at the lady and he says that I'm not going to marry you why did I even marry my wife I married my wife too early so all of that was it's in the flesh and interestingly he said after the preaching she was the first person to come and talk to him he said man of God please can I be your spiritual daughter
Speaker 3hey he said I'm not going to marry you I'm not going to marry you
Speaker 1why did that come from the flesh now the sin in the flesh is what causes a woman has given birth to a child baby and you know how stressful it can be when you give birth the first few weeks and as you're buffing the baby you are so tired and the thought rises within you why don't you why don't you drown this baby it will not have come to your head before because you are not giving birth you have not given birth everything will be finished where is it coming from it's called a sin principle in the flesh sin principle in the flesh years ago I met a pastor who was three years old and he said I'm not going to marry you I'm not going to marry you tell me that oh he cannot wait for his wife to die every day that was his prayer so the sin principle and desires from the flesh as it rises it can rise as thoughts as it rises as it rises rise from within rise and understand that it happens to everyone because a sin principle is in the flesh it's in the flesh it's in the flesh are you here it arises someone was saying ah I heard someone say ah this lady is beautiful I wish the husband is dead so I will just take over all sort of desires yeah
Speaker 2yeah I just
Speaker 1remember something the pastor said that I don't even want to say I don't want to say it is wild the pastor was not yet married he said ah for him he won't marry me he said I don't want to marry the lady she wants to marry I shouldn't say it she wants to marry someone who is a retired prostitute so she can explore all the wonders in the sexual life she wants to marry someone who is a retired prostitute so she can explore all the wonders in the sexual life
Speaker 2this is a man of God
Speaker 1he's born again yeah there's a same principle that gives us all sorts of thoughts all sorts of imaginations all sorts of desires some of those things are wild yeah some are wild you think of yourself hey is it me yeah is it me you may be in a church worshipping all of a sudden you open your eyes and you say very nice the lady leading the songs very beautiful lady all of a sudden you start undressing the lady in your head
Speaker 2yeah you are in heaven
Speaker 1all of a sudden you are now in hell you just open your eyes and you say wow what an angel you start undressing one by one one by one one by one meanwhile it was in worship and the house was filled with glory in the midst of the glory and someone said the one principle can work perfectly yeah so now understand this all of these rising desires and propensities the flesh you know how God did when Jesus died Jesus did not eradicate them it wasn't eradicated it wasn't eradicated it wasn't eradicated sin in the inner man in the old man the old man was eradicated but when it comes to the flesh it was not eradicated it was condemned if it was eradicated all of these things I'm describing should have never once shown up but we struggle with these these things because of the flesh so you know what God did on the cross through Jesus Christ you know what he did you know what he did all of these desires and some principle when Jesus died you know what he did he condemned them he condemned them you know what it means to condemn them they were all condemned so much that when these thoughts now rises up within you these thoughts no more have power to condemn you before God so what used to condemn you before God has now been condemned and these thoughts when they rise up within your flesh they no more have the power to impede your or to prevent you from your fellowship with God or your intimacy with God they don't have that power again to prevent your stand and your boldness before God because they have been condemned in the body of Christ these thoughts when they rise up within you no more they no more have the power to prevent to prevent your success or to impede your favor before God or to impede all the favors and all the grace and whatever God wants you to do and all the all the good things of life these thoughts will rise up within you but they can't prevent your progress and your success in life they can't prevent your fellowship with God they can't impede your intimacy with Jesus they can't stop you from making progress they can't stop you from so these thoughts although they bother you the truth is that on the cross this this the same principle in the flesh was condemned praise God so when it rises it has been condemned it no more has power to put you down now understand that it was not eradicated so you can pray for three hours and after three hours as you are going something rises up within you that is so negative and people feel condemned about it I just pray for three hours I just finished praying for three hours how come this thought rises up rose up within me I did three days dry but I fell out with all of these things how many have experienced that before and people felt feel that some of you felt have felt they are not really born again or or there's a demon in you something some of the things are not demonic is a sin principle in the flesh remember they were not eradicated and because they were not eradicated when it rises up remember it has been condemned so they cannot condemn you what used to rise up to condemn you has been condemned but the truth is that your maturity in the Christian life will not terminate sin in the flesh no matter how you mature sin in the flesh will not be terminated so don't think that you're thinking that after being 60 years in Christ the sin in the flesh will be terminated no he did not eradicate sin in the flesh he condemned it so you could be in a very glorious service you may have meditated on the word have some nice time with the Lord and you just stepped out and all of a sudden you saw a lady or it's something and some thought pumped up from within you and they go like oh Jesus I'm dead you are not dead you are much alive what rose up to condemn you remember has been has been condemned yeah you pray for hours as a young man I experienced something I pray for hours but I'll see thought coming in me I'll pray I'll pray I'll wake up after six hours I'll see thought bombarding me oh lord help me oh lord I thought that on the cross it was eradicated but if it was eradicated this thing should have gone from me because I've prayed there was a time I've prayed I thought prayer could eradicate it I locked myself and prayed and prayed and prayed 23 hours when I left the thought came back again you know so I know
Speaker 2so you may think
Speaker 1that you can do a lot of things to stop no my brother my sister forget it he did not eradicate sin in the flesh as long as you're on earth those thoughts once a while it will rise yeah but the truth is that these things used to condemn you and put you down and you begin to struggle but on the cross Jesus condemned them so much that now when they rise they are condemned God sees them as condemned and in actual when I began to know this truth that these things are condemned they actually stopped working because you don't give it focus and attention again uh-huh so when they arise I said ah it's condemned so ah so what I'm looking I can't find them again looking for them they arises but it's not like previously but previously when they rise it's like bondage because I give it focus and I try to use fasting and I try to use prayer and I try to cast it out I thought they were demons but these demons I read that of this kind you need prayer and fasting I've done all the fasting but which kind is this it's never going then I got to know that thing I'm trying to cast out is within my members so Paul could say oh wretched man that I am until he got to know that now when it arises there is now therefore no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus
Speaker 3the reason there's no condemnation is that the sin that was rising in you to condemn you has been condemned in the flesh of Jesus has been condemned
Speaker 1it has been condemned in the flesh of Jesus it has been condemned so many young Christians are discouraged yeah because they thought something is wrong with them because they know there are new creations all things are passed away but where from the rising this desire that is rising where where where that is what I yielded to confessions I confessed and confessed and confessed and confessed confessions confession of sin never delivered me confession never delivered me fastens never delivered me long press never delivered me what then I realized it is revelation of what Jesus has done oh so it was not eradicated oh so it was not eradicated oh so it was not eradicated So when it rises, it has been condemned. So it cannot condemn him before God. It cannot impede my progress, my success of fellowship and intimacy with a triune God. It cannot stop me from favor. It cannot. So when they arise, they have been condemned. Condemned in the flesh. Praise the Lord. So when you are watching, when you open your eyes and things are happening, the thing is that once you know it's condemned, it doesn't even linger. That's the mystery. It doesn't linger. Because you don't give it attention. You are not feeding it. Because when it arises and you feel condemned, now you are giving it power to rule over you. And that thought becomes bondage. It rules over you. And over time, a demon spirit can even be attached to it. But when it rises, you are no more condemned. Because you know it has been condemned. What condemned me has been condemned. Sin. You see, Paul, he tried to use the law through the flesh to stop these things from working. But you were helpless. But God sent in his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh. Now I know the struggle has ceased. Because when they arise, I know they have been condemned already. And once I know they are condemned, it has lost its power. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. Glory to God. Now, there is a scripture I must show you. Otherwise, if you stumble on it tomorrow, it will make no sense of all that I have preached today. So let me explain that scripture. Galatians 2, verse 24. And know its place. Galatians 5, verse 24. How about this scripture? It seems opposite to what you are saying, man of God. It says, I remember 1998, I found this verse and I went to my father-in-law and I said, Please, what does this verse mean? Yeah, 1998. I went to my father-in-law and I said, Yes, what does it mean? I said, what does this verse mean? Because if I have, because I will flee. I'm not saying affections, but it says, if I'm born again. Praise God. Now, let me show you what this verse means. They, and they that are Christ, have crucified. In the Greek, the word crucified is in the aorist, indicative, active tense. Very important. Aorist, indicative, active. It's in the active voice. It is not representative. It's not referring to Christ crucifying your flesh. It is not referring to what Jesus has done. It's referring to what the believer must do. That's why it says, they that are Christ, have. It's talking about what the believer must do. It is not in the passive voice. It's in the active voice, what the believer must do. Now, for you to understand flesh, the Bible distinguishes between the flesh of self and the flesh of sin. The flesh of self and the flesh of sin. If someone says, we have to die to sin, it's wrong. Nobody can die to sin. Praise God. It happened in Christ. But you can die to self. The flesh is actually the edge within us. That drives us to self-autonomy. the flesh speaks of so there is a flesh of son And there's a flesh of self. So when the flesh is mentioned, sometimes speaking of self, the self-life. Okay. The flesh of son was condemned. But when it comes to the flesh of self, the Bible says that those who are Christians, it's the normal life of the Christian to crucify the self-life. The Christian practice is that the self-life must be put away. For instance, every day, we put away the flesh of self, which it desires. He's not talking about the flesh of son, which was condemned. So every day, you deny yourself. For instance, every day you have to put aside your wisdom and embrace Jesus' wisdom. In every situation, this is what I want. This is what goes for me. But you lay aside yourself and you embrace God's wisdom for you. That's it. Your daily life, your daily Christian life of actively letting go of the flesh. Praise God. That's the idea in this verse. It's in an active voice. What Christians must do concerning the flesh. But it's not talking about the flesh of son. It's talking about the flesh of self. Or the self-life every day desires. This is what I want to do. This is what you want to do. That is what some would call it, carrying your cross every day. Uh-huh. I want to go this way. I want to do this. But Jesus also wants you to just focus on this. I want to do things God's way. Hallelujah. Are you understanding me? Yes. All right. Now, how did Jesus condemn sin in the flesh? Do you remember two years ago what happened here? Can I get someone for illustration? I used Pastor Mark last year. You are big people. I want someone who is very. Someone who is very. You are so tall. Can't I get someone? Who is. All right. All right. Okay. Okay. So, a taller person can come. Okay. Oh, you can. Okay. So, you are the high priest of Israel. Okay. You can also come. And. So, a high priest, you can face. And you are the sinner. This is your offering. And when you have sinned, this is your offering. Okay. So, you bring your animal. It's a goat to the high priest. So, no. You have to work like goats. You are working like a human being. High priest. Who was crying like goats? Is it the high priest or the. I don't know. Can you cry as a sheep or a goat so that we. We will know you are truly a proper sacrifice for the offering. Look, the goat is not bleeding. So, the high priest must examine it whether it is without blemish. It's as if the goat is. It's as if the goat is numb. It was a. How do you. Dumb. Anyway, he was led us. Yes. He opened up his mouth. Okay. So, you know what happened. So, the Bible speaks of the sin offering. I described the sin offering. So, he brings to the high priest. So, the high priest would examine it whether it is perfect. Yeah. The good news is that the high priest doesn't examine the sinner. He examines his offering. God doesn't examine you. He examines your offering, which is Christ. Okay. So, when that is done, then you give him the knife. Take the knife. And you. Before then, sorry, you put your hands on. Put your hands on. And all your sins, you confess all your sins. So, all your sins will pass to the animal, right? Then you receive the knife. Then you cut off the head. Then you die. Alright. That's powerful. That's powerful. Remain dead. Remain dead. When you rise up, our sins are coming back. Please. Please. So, now, that was his death. But. In a sense, the victim has died in his place. So, he's free to go. After that, now, some things take place. With the animal, the goat. When the hands were laid on it, the sin from him was transferred to the flesh of the goat. I forget his flesh. It didn't affect his blood. When Jesus received our sins, our sins never affected his blood. Actually, the blood is what cleansed our sins. The sin didn't affect his inward parts. Remember that the sin offering, the inward parts are removed. And they are offered as burnt offering. Which is Christ's righteousness. So, the blood is now drained out. The inward part is removed. But the sin is in the flesh. That's why Jesus bore our sins in the flesh. He didn't bear our sins in his spirit. The spirit represents the inward organs. The entrails. I've described it before. Which was offered as a sweet-smelling savor before God. That is Jesus' indissoluble spirit. Then, you have to carry your offering. Your sons are back. Okay. All right. So, you carry your offering outside the camp. So, and you put it down outside the camp. Then, we bend it to ashes. Yeah. So, we bend it to ashes. So, this is your sin. Your sin in the flesh of the beast. It is bent to ashes. So, after that, you collect the ashes. Now, the ashes are put on the side of the altar. Now, the ashes are put there for a memorial. Praise God. When someone's. Now, when you sin and you come, you know what God does? He'll take the ashes and he'll pour it on you. Mix it with water and pour it on you. For you to know that your sins are gone. The sin has lost its power. You know why it is ashes? It has lost its force. Your sin is just ashes now. They are bent out sinless. They've lost their strength. They've lost their force. They've lost their power. They've lost their life. Lost its thing. And it's blasting power. It's just ashes. You know, I use wood as an illustration. I can use a piece of wood to hit your head and you collapse. But when I bend the wood to ashes and I pour it on you, no more dominion over you. So, sin, that used to have dominion. Dominion over you. In the flesh, it's now bent into ashes. Ashes. Ashes. It has no more force over you. You know, ashes are the final irreducible state of matter. When you bend something to ashes, it cannot reduce further again. So, they represent incorruptibility and immortality. They forever remain as ashes. Why? As an eternal testimony that that is how your sins have become. Your sins have been bent. Ashes means that the fire has done its work. The fire of judgment. The fire of judgment has already received its full vengeance. God's wrath has been satisfied. Ashes means the fire has done its work. So, ashes means judgment is passed behind us. Praise God. Now, the word ashes is from the word dashin, which means to accept as part. Ashes is a proof that our sins are gone and we have been accepted before God. Praise God. And now, your sins are ashes. Resurrection. God bless you. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Hallelujah. Now, the good news is that, you know something? The sin in the flesh, that had power to condemn you, now they are ashes. Jesus took a judgment. It has no power. Over you again. So, in the sight of God, when the sin principle rises up before you, it has already been judged. So, it cannot condemn you because it has been condemned and it has been, they are bent out sin this. This is God's perspective concerning sin in the flesh. From God's perspective, the judgment has been met already. They are ashes. You are feeling it, but it's unreal. It has been condemned. So, it cannot rule over your life. Praise God. - Yeah. so you are free you are free then you are free but when they start rising and go like oh I said it I said it Lord I'm sorry oh and you know you are not in faith that's how you can pray and pray and pray and it just becomes worse and worse and worse and worse and worse because you are not appropriate to what Jesus did you have to reckon it as condemned because it has been condemned hallelujah and when you know it is condemned what is the result verse 4 Romans 8 verse 4 that the righteous the righteous requirements of the law might be fulfilled now in the Greek fulfilled is in a passive voice not the active voice that means that you will not fulfill it it will be fulfilled automatically that means you will walk in holiness accidentally ha ha ha ha ha ha ha holiness becomes a byproduct so the fulfillment is not you fulfilling it it is something that is being applied to you automatically might be fulfilled not by us but in us so the righteous demands of the Lord is not fulfilled by you it's not you doing it but in you hallelujah and now you have to work in the spirit means you work by your new nature work by your new creation identity you work by who you are in Christ know you are the righteousness of God in Christ that is your spirit is clothed with righteousness you work in that identity yeah that is it when these things rises up within you they are condemned don't give it attention they are condemned they are ashes they have been judged they were judged in Christ and they were condemned they have no power to condemn you they are never eradicated don't never expect it to die to ha ha yeah yeah after praying and coming out if some thought rises up within you just smile and walk away you know the smile you know it is a smile of faith it's a laughter of faith ha ha ha oh what are you talking about you have despised it you have despised it because you know Jesus has dealt with it ha ha it's condemned and I'm telling you before you realize if you give attention to it it will give you direction it will give you direction sin has been condemned in the flesh there is now therefore no condemnation because sin in the flesh is condemned this is the solution of Romans chapter 7 if you know the work that has been done you're not struggling again the struggle is over hallelujah lift up your voice and glorify God glorify God glorify God thank you Jesus thank you Jesus thank you Jesus thank you Jesus you are faithful why don't you praise Jesus that sin in the flesh has been condemned
