The podcast explores the personal, professional, and emotional dynamics within a close-knit group of friends. Tensions emerge between members, particularly over communication styles, accountability, and perceived favoritism—such as when Ilia is blamed for being rewarded while Natalie lashes out over what she sees as unfair treatment. The group highlights how their informal, high-energy interactions, while fun and authentic in private, can become problematic in public settings. Jason justifies a massive car purchase as a financially sound investment with long-term value, while the group plans a large summer pool party to generate content, showing their focus on shared experiences. They also outline a series of international travel plans—Croatia, France, and Norway—emphasizing both excitement and logistical challenges. A central theme is personal growth, especially around aging and relationships: members reflect on how they’ve changed, with some expressing fear of commitment or loneliness, while others celebrate newfound confidence. John’s story of panicking during a traffic stop reveals a deep-seated anxiety around authority, which resonates with others. The group acknowledges their evolving dynamics, balancing humor, conflict, and vulnerability, ultimately celebrating their journey through friendship, self-discovery, and shared adventures.
(upbeat music) - What's up guys, we're back to Views. We just posted a vlog. Now we're back here in action with my favorite people, Jason Natalie. - Yay. - Why are you laughing, Jay? - Instagram, study finds people who frequently post about their workouts are more likely to have psychological problems. (laughing) - That makes sense. (laughing) - Shout out to Ilia, that adds up for sure. Don't even, don't start me down this rabbit hole this early in the pod. - But I could also say that he's probably, he looks to be the most stable one out of all of you. - Yeah. - Yeah. I mean, he is in there doing his job with a smile on his face, he's in a good mood, he's working out. - Yesterday, him and Natalie got into like a big fight. - Okay. - And like Natalie crashed out on him. - I got it. - And. - It was a fight about. - Okay. She goes, "Yo, I'm not gonna lie. "Being around Natalie is super unenjoyable." - That's what he said. - She's a constant negative energy. I realize I'm a pain in the ass, but it doesn't give her the right to talk to me that way. And then I-- - Hold up. - Hold up. - And then I go, I get it, I get it. I think it's my fault because unfortunately, that's how I talk to her. So I think it kind of becomes a way we all communicate. (laughing) - And he goes. - He's really getting to it. - He goes, "Yeah, but she comes from a place "where she actually means it." But yes, if we're talking about ultimate accountability, it does come down to you. But I'm not gonna blame you for actions. (laughing) - For sure. No, it's the boy on boy getting up on the main house. - How do you talk to him? - It's really fun. - Well, I went off on him yesterday, but it's also cumulatively a lot of things. - To be fair, you went off on him in front of a lot of people. Well, that was the problem, I think. Like, it doesn't matter if you're doing that with us. It was the, I've never seen the house this full. I think there was like 15 people and they all had some sort of association or tie with us. Like, they all worked with us in some way. - Right. - So it was a big argument. It was nothing out of the ordinary. - Right. - But it was just the fact that I think it was in front of other people, where. - You think there's sort of a weird kind of discrepancy there between when like a woman takes down a man in front of everybody? - It's fucked up. - What do you mean? - I didn't even say anything about that. - I don't know what I'm saying, it's right. - No, you didn't say anything bad. - I called him a badge. - That's just completely fine. - I've been actually thinking about like, that's how much easier it is. - Here's the thing that I've realized that I think is kind of nice. Like working with friends, like the positive about it is you can like argue your way through things, I think. - Sure. - Like you can get at all your anger by calling people the nastiest words. - Right. - I don't think you can do that in a regular working environment. - I think it's certain. - There would be like lawsuits. - Yeah, I think it might be tough too for people to understand who are listening. Like you guys like went to high school together. You guys are like. - No one listens, I was eight years old. - Yeah, for sure. - Close, close, close. - Yeah, we sit and ask each other. But that's why when there are other employees in the room, especially who are new. - Yeah. - Like, and I've done this millions of times when Natalie's like, you can't say that when we're other people. - Right. - Yeah. - We have to turn it back. And yesterday, Natalie slipped up and was a little crazy. - That was my fault. - She called you a bitch? - No, not just Julia. - Fucking negative Nancy. - Oh. - Well, there's just a lot going on. And I just, my frustration is that I wish that everybody was just like working together in unison. Like on the same, we're all working towards the same goal. We're trying to make videos, we're trying to do things. - This is what set her off. Ilya, like Ilya, Ilya books. So we had like a Cinco de Mayo thing planned. - Yeah. - And we moved it because the weather wasn't good. So now it's on the seventh today. - Okay. - And Ilya didn't know that. So he had a date planned in Newport with his girlfriend. And I was like, please, like can you just like stay for this party? Or we'll fill them and we're gonna like do stuff all day. And he's like, I can't move it. And I was like, whatever room you have, I'll pay for the change if there's a change fee. And I'll upgrade your room. And then Natalie lost her shit. - She's like, this guy. - She's like, I just see get rewarded all the time for being a fucking jackass. - Oh, this is what it was about. - Which makes total sense. - Right. - But at the same time, like Ilya's not as tied in to me as Natalie is. Like Natalie like receives direct benefits when we're working, Ilya doesn't. But in other news, we just posted a video of it keeping a secret for a long time. I bought a new car. - It's a great video. - The ASMR in Valhalla. Thanks. It's one of those more low key ones. - How come when I said great video to you out there, you like grunted at me? - But I always grunted. - It's just like such a fuck you to the face. Cause then you grunt and then I'm like, oh, he thinks I'm being insincere. But I was being insincere. And then it's just like, all right. I guess I'm stuck on top. - I just don't, but Valhalla yesterday, I walked down the stairs, I posted a video, 15 minutes later, Valhalla goes, great video. And I go, you didn't watch it. And she goes, no, no, I mean, yeah. (laughing) - Well, I watched it. - No, I know, I know, I know. But I just like, I don't know. - And to reach. - Great video to me is like somebody saying, you look great today or something. - And it's like, I think you. - Not like a real, not like a real compliment. - But I was a real compliment. - But I really do look great today. - But I really know you. - Yeah. - So like. - So in my words bullshit. (laughing) - Just to get so mad at me when I would say great video. And then a minute later, I'd say, Scott, great video. - Really? (laughing) - That's so funny. - I'd say, did a video as awesome. Two minutes later, I'd say, Scott, your video is great. David, what the fuck? (laughing) - Oh, that's funny. - I do wish you were a more glass half-full. - We gotta go with the guy. - Scott this weekend, okay. - We should. - This is a surprise him. Oh fuck, we probably isn't listening to this. - No. - Nobody tell 'em, nobody's telling 'em. (laughing) - That'd be really fun. - Sure. - I love that. - I love you. - I always ask Scott to come. - And just go to Newport Survive. - Yeah. - Wow, that's sick. - Okay, let's do that. Anyway, so I got this car, very expensive. I'm gonna justify it here on the pod. 'Cause I saw one comment, or maybe it was a DM, I was like, why do you always talk about how you're like, how you're like very frugal with your money? And like I am, but this is my thought process behind this car. - Okay. - It's a very expensive car. It's cats out of the bag, it was like 1.2. It's very stupid. My accountant approved it, first of all, which is a crazy thing for my accountant to approve. He does not approve fucking anything, but he's like, I've talked to car people, and they're telling me that if you got in this allocation from Aston, you should take it. This car will hold its value if not go up. So he was all hands on deck for it. - Okay. - Now this is the way I saw it. I don't think I'm gonna have this car for long. I asked Aston, I was like, is there a legal thing for me? Can I sell this thing the second I walk out the door? And they're like, we don't even want you to do that, but you're allowed to. Which normally you're not allowed to. And to this day, I've already gotten offers that are a hundred or 200 over the price I bought it for. Now do I want to hold it for like, I want to have it for the summer and I can enjoy it, probably. So I'll probably end up like breaking even on it and just getting the money back that I spent, or it'll go even up further in a couple of months. And the other way I've justified this, is every time I have a brand deal, it goes into the video. So whether the video is, we're all traveling and I have to pay for the flights and the house we stay in, which ends up being, you know, $80,000 or whatever, or we surprise someone with a car or something. So instead of doing that, this time the money went into this car that in the future I will get rid of. Therefore I will break even, and this is the first video I've spent no money on. - Oh, wow, great man. - That's how I'm grown math in the house. Since gymnastics. - So this is my only video that actually costs me nothing. (laughing) 'Cause I got a big purchase out of it that is going to disappear. And I will make the money back from it. - You like the car? - You like the car? - You like the car? - I love the car. I genuinely think it's the best car I've ever sat and driven. I think it's a piece of art. I like looking at it more than I like driving it. Like I'll be on the road and I'll be like, I need to pull over just so I can stare at this thing. - Yeah. - I think it really, really is stunning. - Have you taken it anywhere with fun? - Probably the most fun I saw was maybe like driving it up the coast. - Oh yeah, no, no, no, that's fun. - Oh my, it is the most beautiful looking car I've ever seen. - Yeah. - And I really didn't like, when we were deciding, like colors and stuff, David was asking everybody, and I was like, I don't know about this iridescent, emerald, like it sounds kind of spooky, and you don't really know what it's gonna look like. - Yeah, I was scared about it. - But it is so beautiful. - Yeah, no, no, I'm really stoked. But it's as much as I love it, I will never be able to compute a car that expensive. - Yeah, sure. - But it just like, it's, it's, it scares me. It scares me in my garage. I'm like, what if the second floor falls on the car? - Yeah. - Um, and I didn't think I'd have like a fear about it, but I do. - Even just like hitting a rock on the highway, it's just like things that are like unpredictable. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. So if you're wondering how long I'll have it for, not long, right? - But I will be, I will enjoy it for a little, I think I'll put like 2,000 miles on it or something around there, or I'll work out a deal with someone now who like wants it in the future, and I'll be like, I'll sell it to you, let's lock in the price now, if it goes down, sorry, if it goes up, sorry for me, but I'll sell it to you in like three months officially, like after my birthday or something. - Yeah. - Um, you excited for your birthday? I'm excited. - Yeah, I'm excited. - I'm excited, 30 now, at least planning it again. - Yeah. - Because I feel it'll turn 30. So someone's, I felt like a breakdown of like ages yesterday and like how like 23's old, 23's, 22's young, 23's old, 24's young, 25's medium, 26's old, 27 is sexy, 28 is young, and 29 is old, and 30's young. - Yeah. - And I really find,
- That's interesting. - It's 20, 29 is the toughest thing ever. - No, no, no, 29 is definitely old. - Be talking about 29 is not good, it's 30 is good. - No, 29 is like, oh my God, it's the end of your chapter, but 30 is like it's the beginning of your 30s. - Oh, it's completely different vibe. - I see. - Like 30, you're going to accept that you're. You're at the beginning of the first digit. - I like myself way more after 35. - Really? - Way more. - So much easier, life is so much easier. - I can't imagine that. I'm trying to think like, what I miss about being younger. Like I miss like high school. - Sure. - Obviously you know that. - Have I talked about this? - Let's not go that way. - A little bit. - You know what I loved about high school? - Yes. - This is cheating, man. - I could with Cheetah every time. - I think I would go back too. - I don't know, I'm trying to think. - Do you feel yourself drifting away from that, like you're love of high school? - No, not that, but I do feel myself. I mean, this has been like a common theme here of like, drifting away from things I've, like drinking. - Yeah. - Yeah. - Yeah, yeah, we were talking about that the other day off pod. - Yeah. - Yeah, like we were talking about, like when we were talking about how you were like, I don't really know what to do. - Remember? - Or like socially? - Well, he was saying like, you know, he's like, I was saying like, well, you might be kind of done with partying, you know? And that's like a growing pain that I definitely went through or I think people go through like, you get to the point where we were like, oh, like I told David that I was living in New York City. And then I was like, oh, you know what? I think I'm done with like going to bars and stuff. Like I'm gonna move. - Yeah. - And it really does suck. - Yeah, it's tough, it's, it's tough. - The only way, like now I don't think I can be like, you're going out this Friday. The only way it could be like, is if a dinner turns great or something or like, I don't even go to dinner so it's like a crazy thing. But like, if just like a night magically becomes really good, I think that's the only way for me to drink. I don't think I can like, like two years ago even, I used to be like, there's two big parties this weekend, one on a Friday, one on Saturday. - Right. - And I would fucking be out 'til seven in the morning and then I'd go to paddle at my friends outside like noon. Like I was just like, I was like a tank. But then I'd, then it just like, I can't do it anymore. - You got me in huge trouble the other day on the pod, Dave. - What did you say? - Big trouble. I said, remember you asked me if I believed in soulmates? - Yes. What did you say? - I was like, no, not really. - And then rarely she'll listen to the pod. - Who got mad Marnie or Navine? - It. (laughing) - Both. - Both. - No, I went out with the guys last night and my friends were my age. - With the guys? - Yeah. - The fuck? - I went out with my friends who were my age. - Mm-hmm. - Jeff and Paul. - Oh, it was like your best buds. - Yeah, and then I came home and she was like, I listened to the podcast. - Wait, wait. - You ever say something on the podcast? Get's you in trouble? - I'm sorry, I'm more baffled at this. You going out with your friends of your own age. - Oh yeah, it was crazy. - We'll call that together. - I did. I did, I'm, I'm, I've changed. I'm a changed man. - How long were you out for? - Our conversation. - Our conversation. - Mm-hmm. - I was 45 minutes. - I was also 10, 15, 10, 30. - What did you guys do like at a beer? - No, we went to a marvito. We went to like, this stilly-dan-themed restaurant and we sat. - Stilly-dan. - Stilly-dan. - And we had shrimp enchiladas. - How we like stilly-dan-themed things are there? Are you just always referencing the same thing? - No, I told you about this. - Okay. - It was this restaurant I was in one day and the guy was like, yeah, it's a stilly-dan-themed restaurant and I was like, what? I was like, you're fucking kidding. And then I talked to the owner and he's like, I'm like, I can't believe you made this. - So you took your friends there? - You took my friends out, yeah. - That's really cute. - Yeah, so anyways, I don't even know what I was talking about. Oh, but then so then I got in trouble when I got home. You ever say something on the pod and then you get in trouble? - Like by your girl that I've seen, I have no idea. - I don't know, anybody, your mom calls you, I was just like, why are you talking about that? - Oh, yeah, yeah, my parents are sure. - Yeah, like one time on my other podcast I said, I said like very flippantly, I was like, I was like, oh yeah, you know, and like Sidney Sweeney's there waiting for you in the bed. Like that's what I said. Like as like trying to be like, reference something like the hottest woman in the world. And that has fucking plagued me now for the rest of my life. - I mean, that is a big one. - But I don't even give a fuck about Sidney Sweeney. - No, obviously. I mean, but any time we're watching TV, it's like, oh, there's your girl. There's, there's, oh, you wanna watch? You probably wanna watch this. And I'm like, I've never seen a Sidney Sweeney movie. - Yo, you know what I found out? - Keep a fuck about her. - You know what I found out the other day? - What? - Nah, I guess how old Ann Hathoy is. - 40? - Jason? - 40. - Oh. - I totally thought she was like so much older. - Really? - Oh really? 'Cause people were like, she doesn't age, she doesn't age. And I'm like, yeah, she doesn't, she looks beautiful. - Yeah. - And I'm like, oh yeah, she's 43. - Yeah, but she looks the same as when she was 20. - Totally. - Yeah, she looks good. - But like, it may be my unstatus talking, but like 43's not that old. - Agreed. - Right? - It's not like she's 60 and looking 20. - Right, like, like, I guess this is like a very superstar thing to compare it to another superstar, but like Jennifer Aniston is what? 50. - Yeah. - No, 60s. - She's 60, okay. - I think so, 58. - Great. - But she still looks like she's 40. - Yeah. - Right? - Yeah, she looks great. - I feel like, okay. - I don't know. - I mean, all these. - The way people talk about Anne Halfway, I was like, oh wow, that can't believe she looks like that for 60. - Imagine. - And I'm like, no, she still looks incredible. I was shocked, because we all guessed, and we were all like, I don't know, 52. But I'm surprised you guys got on them. - Isn't that John's like Crush? - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - John was the closest, John was like 46. (laughing) - That's funny. - But yeah. Okay, so what else? - Yeah, so yeah, a retraction. I guess Divina is my soul mate. - Okay. - Good. - I said it. - I was very nervous. - I said it. - Very, very, very nervous. We're having our pool day today. - Oh. - I'm a little nervous about that. - How many people? - Well, not at least, I think we misunderstood each other about what it was going to be. I thought it was going to be like 20 people, but I think it's like 100. - Oh wow. - No, it's like 60 to seven day, probably. - And what is it for? - It's for nothing. - It's just like celebrate summer. (laughing) - You know what? - You guys have so much to do. - Now they got the argument. - And you're throwing a random party? - Well, I thought that'd be fun. - Well, wait, that is part of it. - Yeah, it's part of it. - I know, but that's so much work. - Jay, that's like saying you have so much to do and you're gonna go to Miami. It's like that it's really, our work is to do that. - I know, but like, I just feel like it's, I think everybody coming. - I get it, I get it, I get it. - You're throwing the party in hopes that you'll get some content. Okay, I get it. - Oh yeah, what are you talking about? - It seems like a lot of work. - It's really to have fun. - No, I know. Did you forget? - Yeah, 'cause sometimes it's not fun. - Wow. - I think you're not. - You're uninvited. - No, no, no, it's just. - You've been blacklisted. - Fuck. - No, I'm gonna come, but I'm just saying like. - No, security's gonna kick you out as soon as the party's over. - Okay, fine, fine, well, you're here for work. - You're here for work. - We'll go to Naveen and I won't go to you guys. - We're all so-- - No, Naveen's coming here. - Yeah, fuck. - It's also, wavres is now in five below, so we have like a whole wavres. - Okay, so that's the reason. - Yeah, yeah. - Okay. - Wavres has been popping off, Jay. - It's doing well? - Yeah. - Apparently. - Incredible. - Where's it popping off all over the country? Australia? - All over the country. - Five below, we're going global circle K. - How many locations are we gonna be in circle K? - Some are between six and seven hundred stores. - It's pretty crazy. - That's great. - I thought five below was like a clothing store. - No, it's like a convenience store. - It's all clothing in one bag of chip. (laughing) My mom found wavres yesterday at like the most random place. - Home goods. - Yeah, we're all in the home goods. - We get all our snacks at home goods. - Really? - We get a good deal on them. - And I'm like, can you try them so they're not stale? And she's like, I'm earning the card in Bionny. I'm like, I was shocked. - I was red. - I was like, what, like she has plenty at home 'cause we sent her packages of it. - Yeah. - But I'm like, and she's always been like, when are we gonna get them around our area? - I'm finally finding something. - And she finally finds it. Like, how do you not just like check out process? That's literally the best part of finding something that you know is like checking it out. And then at the cash register being like, this is my son's. (laughing) That's my last name. - I know. - If that was you not do that whole experience. - If that was Mr. Beast, he would have. - I actually wanna ask her, can we call her? - Sure. - I'm trying to see her mindset for that. - Yes. - Hey, you're on the podcast. - I am. - Yes, yes. Yeah, right now. Question. When you saw, sorry, tell a positive question. - Sorry, I can't talk. I'm in a car with Austrian hija on my phone, sorry. - Well, just real quick, real quick. When you found waivers at the story yesterday, why didn't you buy 'em? - Uh-huh, 'cause I left it for other people to buy it. (laughing) - It was, it was, it was. - But you didn't wanna like buy, you've always been asking for when they're gonna be there. You didn't wanna experience how it is buying it. - Uh, no, I didn't, 'cause we have still at home. - Okay, let's look exactly what they said. Okay. - I wasn't thinking that way. I really thought like, even when I go to store and buy something I want for something, and that is like sick. So I would always leave one or two behind for other people, you know. - Sure. - So that's how I feel when I thought that like, all other people probably wanna try it. Why would I take, you know. (laughing) - Okay, it's very sweet. Okay. - Thank you. - Bye. - Bye. - Bye. - That's really funny. - It's really bizarre. - I don't think about the other people. - Yeah, that is a really like, holds some way to figure about things. - Yeah, yeah. - My mom's PR trained. (laughing) - I have a question. - Yeah. - Are we gonna be on a boat in Croatia? - Yeah. - What kind of situation is that? - What does that mean? - Like what's the boat like? - So we're taking a trip to Croatia. - I haven't said you know what it looks like? - Yeah. Or maybe you didn't, I didn't see it. - It's a really big boat. - Wait, did you send it in the chat? - No. - Are we allowed to talk about like, how much it costs and how much we're gonna get for? - Um, yeah. Yeah, I mean.
It's public information, people can just look it up on them. - Yeah, the boats like $150,000 a week, but they're giving it to us for free. Just for us to like mention in the thing, I've never been on a big boat like this in my entire life. - Hitting. - The only problem is the temperature in Croatia is gonna be like 62. - Yeah, it's not exactly warm there. - So it's going to be like a little - A little laskin cruise type situation. - Pack your pockets. - Yeah. - How come we can't get good weather? - But the boat is like 13 bedrooms. It has a movie room. - Oh wow. - Yeah, yeah. - It's like three floors. - No, no, it's like a boat boat. - It's like a yacht. - Yeah, there's a yacht. - Yeah, Jay, it's 150 grand a week. - Oh, oh, oh, okay. - Yeah. - I didn't know what we were on. - Sorry, that's my thought. - Oh wow. - I've never experienced anything like this. - And so the idea is that you're on the boat for five days and you're stopping and you're seeing stuff. - I actually don't know, I don't know. - Yeah, they have like, they're doing a whole, we'll get off, we'll do a little excursion. - Oh, we should be able to get off. - Yeah, yeah. - Oh, it's so nervous about this. I don't know what the official itinerary is yet, but. - You guys are so funny, you run this place, like it's like Charlie runs like, - No, we're on a yearbook squad at her school. - No, it's absolutely mesmerizing how anything has gone as far ever. - I wonder who the problem is. - I mean, I'm also the solution. - 'Cause you need a knife. - I mean, we're on a boat and we're like, oh, that could be. - No, I don't know. I think it's like a big boat where you won't even feel like you're on a boat. I don't know, I've never been on a boat like this. So like, yeah, I could have danced. - I love boats. - I'm gonna be like, okay, Jason's now looking at pictures. - Oh shit. (laughing) - What? - It scrolls, scroll, look at how beautiful it is. - Oh my god. - Oh, it's fun. - Oh my god. (laughing) - It's got a slide. - Well, we won't be able to use it 'cause we'll be going into icy water. (laughing) - Justin has to pull her blind. - The slide will hit an iceberg. - Oh my god, guys, it has like a pool that like. - There's a hot tub on the boat. - I don't know how to explain this guys, but it's like, imagine a bunch of gym mats that go out in the water that like create. - We have an inflatable pool. - An inflatable pool in the water. - My mom just said, if you want, I can go by just for quality insurance. (laughing) - Insurance. - Insurance. - Just have a gym. - I don't know, I'm sure there's like a bike and weights and weights. - Wow. - Oh my god. - Oh, it's gonna be really sick. - Yeah. - Shit. - So that's gonna be fun. That's our next vlog. - That'll be a crazy vlog. - Or that's our next vlog. And like three vlogs. We're trying to stay one vlog ahead. - Right. - We may be fucked. There may be, I predict we will miss a week. - No. - In three weeks. - Stop. - I ain't taking it. - I predicted two weeks we're gonna miss a week of post. - You got your crystal ball? - We're not missing shit. - Well, I don't know what you're expecting or how we're doing this, but it's getting really intense over here. - Yes, you only have two days to shoot. Two weeks vlog, the next vlog. - Yeah. - Two days today. - Yeah. - And I've been editing a lot of these videos like sitting there. - Right. - So it's like I haven't gotten the full week to shoot. I'm only getting like two or three days to shoot a vlog. - Right. - But Miami was really fun. I'm looking forward to that vlog. - Okay. - Big time. I think that'll be like very like friend hanging out heavy. I think that's gonna be like one of my faves. - Yeah. - And then yeah, Croatia, we haven't gone, but that will be also really fun. Once again, we're fucking leaving. I fucking, I beg Natalie not to leave. We're going to Croatia, then we have to go to France. And then from France, we have to go to Norway. - Hang on, man. - Croatia. - Yeah. - Khan. - Oh wait, no. - Wait, what's in Norway? - Wait, first I have to go to New York. - For what? I have to go. - The sister's graduating. - My sister's graduating. - Okay. - I'm gonna go to New York on Sunday. - Okay. - We haven't even talked about this. How the fuck are we gonna podcast? I guess I'll meet you guys in Croatia and we'll do a podcast a little later. - Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Guys, we gotta have a better sketch for the pod. - Okay, so anyway. - We have to make it a priority. It's how I live. - New York. - Well, Jay, I said that in Miami. I was like, I thought this was Jason's bread and butter. Why isn't he here? - Well, that was my fault, that was my fault. That was my fault. I thought, take four words for that. - Well, go ahead, fuck a hint. (screaming) - Go ahead, give me one. - Bro, you guys, these guys, these guys. - We called you a Dane advance? - Yeah. - Call everybody Dane advance. - No, that's bad, that's bad. That's bad, that's bad. - You can't, you can't call someone and go, Jay, we're going to North Korea tomorrow. We have Tuesday, come back Wednesday. - If we were going to North Korea. - You can't fucking do that. - You'd probably have a two day heads up too. I mean, it's just really tough 'cause we don't know where we're going. - But, I'm sure we know where we're going. We just need to plan about it. - You knew you were going to Miami. No one told me anything, right? If one was probably planned for months. - Okay, I'm telling you right now. - Yeah. - We are going to Can. - Okay, yeah, tell me. - And then we're going to Norway. So I think you're gonna have to come with us everywhere. - Okay, bro, so wait a minute. - How? - What's in Norway? - Norway, we're celebrating a launch of waivers around the world. - Oh my god, I'm gonna fuck that, I'm out. - I'm out. - I'm out. - I'm not going to celebrate waivers in Norway. - I know you're fucking mine. - No, it's not waivers in Norway. It's waivers around the world, but it just so happens that the event is in Norway. - It's gonna be me, you and Natalie, standing around an ice sculpture with a fucking bag of waivers. - No, no, no, no. - And like two people are like, it's good, it's not a good crunchy. - You love these events. - We're going to like one of those food things. - Oh. - First of all, David doesn't even know what the fuck we're doing. - Yeah, I don't know him, bro. - So the headquarters for Circle K is in Oslo and Norway. So we're going there to meet with all of the countries that are gonna be distributing. - It's like we're meeting with the United Nations. - Oh really? - Yeah. - Okay, have we been in Oslo before? - We have not. - We've been in Norway? - Never. - Oh wow, that's gonna be really fun, yeah. - Okay, so you give Norwegian vibes. - So you're going, I'll be in Croatia. - Yeah. - We're going to get four podcasts done in Croatia. - Yeah. - Then you go to France. - Okay. - And then you come to France. - And then what I go back to LA and then fly to Norway? - No, I think you go to France. And then you go with us also to Norway. Dude, yes, John. - What am I going to do in France? Like, I'm not going to be able to go to anything. - John, John Pays, actually can is so nice. - Yeah, it's like the most beautiful. - It's so nice. - John, we've been asking John to travel places with us. - Yeah. - It's so funny. - What does he say? - 'Cause he works. Oh, dude. The funniest fucking thing. - Okay, well, let me say this first. He works for us, right? He's also our friend. - Sure. - There's no other obligation. - Sure. - Rather than just, like, hang out. And we told him, like, John, we're going to need you to come on this, like, yeah, with us. And he goes, dude. He goes, I've just been traveling so much. And I'm like, John, like, it's like. - That's the gig. - That's the gig. - That's what we do. - He was joking about suing me yesterday because of how much work he has to do. (laughing) Like, so how is Cork going to go down, John? Like, you, so you work for your best friend. You get to travel with. And you have to go on a yacht in Croatia. But you don't want to go because you just got back from Miami at one. (laughing) - Wow. - It's really funny. - Yeah. - So John's, like, really, I'm like, John, bring Julia, bring your girlfriend. Like, have it be like a fucking fun thing. He's like, I don't know. And then when he found out that we're staying on, like, a big boat. - Yeah. - He was like, oh, wait. Everybody gets their own roomy stuff. (laughing) And he, like, tried to pretend like he didn't love it. He was like, oh, okay, I guess I can think about this. (laughing) - Yeah, I liked on the pod when you said, you're asking, John, like, if he's gonna stay. - Like, if he's gonna stay working here? - Yeah. - Yeah. - I was loving that conversation. - I was like, what's he gonna do? - What? - It was so, 'cause we were in Miami F1. - Yeah. - And for three days, I'm just editing. The first three days, we're editing the Bali vlog. So he's doing nothing, right? He's, he's fishing on the dock for, like, six hours. At this, like, million dollar house on the water in Miami. And it's so funny. I'm just like, I'm setting pictures to the group chat and I'm like, John's work is really tough today. It's really fun. And it's not like, I need him to do anything. Like, I'm not like, taking a picture and being like, why is he working? 'Cause there's actually nothing for him to do. - Yeah. - Other than fish. - Well, there is things he could be doing. - Well, he'll, like, run errands. Like, randomly, sporadically. That's really. - You should have him, like, create like shorts. - Well, John did the most interesting thing in Miami that I've never, I've never seen and it made me look at him completely different. We were, we were rolling, we were rolling. - We were in the neighborhood. - Yeah. - Probably 30 yards from the house. - We're all drunk. Except John, John's our DD. And John rolls the stop sign and police come. He gets pulled over. John is fucking freezing, like, panicking. I've never seen anything like it. I'm recording him 'cause I think it's funny that he's panicking. - Right. - And the officer comes, whatever. He's panicking the entire time. Gives him a ticket. Officers are going back into his car. We're like, John, well, how could you roll that stop sign? You fucking criminal. That was crazy. What were you thinking? - Yeah. - And John's like, you know what? Fuck this. John gets out of the car and he's like, I'm walking home. (laughing) I've never seen anything like it. I'm like, John, get back in the car. The cop is still right outside. Like, he's gonna think. John, the cop's gonna shoot you. Like, this is like those videos you watch. And it's like, and you're like, why is this person not just like-- - Yeah, chilling. - He's chilling and giving him the license and information like, why is he being so pan? And that's what John was doing. John got out of the car, started walking away. Meanwhile, we're parked diagonally on the side of the road. Everyone in the car's drunk. So no one can take over driving. - Oh no. - And we're like, John, what the fuck are you doing? And John's like, I'm done. I'm done panicking. - Oh wow. - I've never seen-- And the cop's writing the ticket. - The cop's already written the ticket. But he's back in his car, still sitting behind us like ready to leave. - Oh wow. - I couldn't believe it was, I've never seen anything like it. I've just realized now that John has never faced like any sort of challenging situation in his life that's challenged him like that. And then I told his girlfriend about it and she's like, oh, the same thing happened to us two years ago. We got pulled over and he went completely blank. And he wasn't him himself.
myself anymore. He was just like not himself. He couldn't talk to me. He just couldn't communicate. It was very, he has something with law enforcement. That just like triggers him. There was something. It was, Jay, it was the craziest thing I've ever seen in my life. It was the craziest thing. How'd you get him back in the car? George, I had to go after him. Yeah. And this was, he was like, I don't know, half a football field away. And George, your calm down. She was like, please, we're all drunk. None of us can drive the car. We need you to finish the driving and just get us to the next place. That's it. And then he like calmed down. He thought like it was going on his record or everything. Like he was going to go to jail. Yeah, like what happens if you get a ticket in Florida? It's also, do you have enough pay? The cop wrote it. It was a $50 ticket. And we're all like, we're going to pay it for you, dude. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, and also like, John, you make a hundred grand a year and have no expenses, no rent, no gas, no, you can afford a $50 ticket. Yeah. You can afford a $50. So I don't know where the panic was coming from. I was so confused. Interesting. And then it was the craziest thing to watch. Fucking crazy. I thought he was joking. I thought John was kind of like acting it up for the camera. And then he just fled the scene. Yeah. And I was like, he murdered people. Okay. Like he murdered, like he ran over a family of four. So, and then the next day, I get pulled over by in the same spot. Oh, the cops just sit there. I roll the stops. I do wear a neighborhood. Like it's one of those stops as you're like, does this even count? So I rolled it. And same thing, I'm filming again. And John's like, "Ha, how does it fucking feel?" And I'm like, I don't know. Five. I don't really care. Like I was set up. Yeah. Like the cops have nothing else to do. Yeah, like I was like, John, it's fine. Like it's like, I've been pulled over one other time. And it was because I was going 110 in like a 70 on my way to San Francisco. That could have like actually gotten my license revoked. That was scary. Yeah. But I'm like, this doesn't, this doesn't give you a point on your license. Like you rolled the stops at and it is like the most minimal infraction ever. What do you think it is? Like, why was he so panicked? Yeah. Why does he get panicked by trying to explain it? I just don't think that he like does well in like a high, like he just, if there's some sort of adversity or high stress, he just goes full panicked. Yeah. He can do high stress. Yeah. Interesting. I got a crazy ticket in Alabama. And I looked the cop right in the eye and I was like, okay, take me in, you're going to take me in. Wait, what was the ticket? I was going to take it forward to do it. I was with like, Heath and Mariah were coming back from Matt King's wedding. And we were going, we were going from state to state and the time changed. So we lost an hour all of a sudden. It was like 9.30 in the morning, but suddenly it was 10.30 in the morning. So we were going to miss the flight. So I had to start fucking tearing ass. And he got pulled over tearing ass is great. That's probably why he got pulled over. Yeah, and I was doing like 120 and they were like, you're going to go to jail. And I was like, all right. Yeah, I need a little 100. You can go to jail. Yeah, but I think that's what they say. Yeah, I don't think they actually put you behind bars, unless you're going like 1.30, 1.40, like unless you're, and also like, when I was going 110, it felt like I was going 60. It was on a road with nobody on the road. How fast were you going in your video when the cops shut the street down? 155. Wow. 155. But it didn't even feel like. How fast did you go on the Bugatti that time? Not one. I think this is the fastest I've gone. But in that car, 155 feels like you're going 70. Really? Yeah, we had so for the Valhalla, we had cops shut down the street, which is actually incredibly like affordable for like a video, which was shocking. Wow. I mean, was it not? I mean, to shut down streets, it was like 3,500. That's nothing. No, for street racing, we had it for a couple hours. And like, we just kind of went. I was like, it also, you're breaking the speed limit. Yeah, I was really confused. Really confusing. But it's also like, my friend, like racist cars, was like, was like, this is way more affordable than like going to the track. Yeah. I was like, why am I not bringing out all my friends to do this, like full time? You think I'll ever find love, Jay? Someone DM me about Tuesday's pod, and they were like, we really love David talking about, you know, his relationships, because I'm in the same boat. I'm trying to find somebody. And I love, can you get him to talk more about it? Yeah, what do you want to know? I'm kind of like, I don't really want to know anything. I'm kind of like a little love guru. Bro, you gotta, you gotta, you're, you're, you know, you really, you really are sexy, are sexy. You got me good on the podcast on Tuesday, because I was explaining that whole thing about how I can't like enjoy life. And then, and then I, and then you said, oh, that's the same thing with Navine. You're afraid to love Navine. And I was like, wow. Yeah. You know, I mean, you're a fucking weirdo. Stupid to become a teacher. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're a real bizarre man when it comes to enjoying things. Yeah. Yeah, for sure. But that's just like the panic in you. You were just constantly panicked. But I also can't. With the chicken little. I don't remember you read that. I don't know that show. He's just like a little scared. He's a scared guy. Yeah. I, I, um, I can't really help you with relationships because you're, you're like, you've already figured yourself out. So there's nothing I could say. I know it does kind of suck. You're not, you're not helpable. I do feel like I'm kind of there. Like you know your problem. And I know the answer. But it's just like I can't really do it. When's the last time you go on a date? When's the last time I, I actually went on a date in a different place the other day. Really? Yes. Where'd you go? I don't want to stay the location. Sure. But it was in a different country. Okay. I went on a date. This wasn't the other day. This was a while ago. Yeah. Okay. Over a year ago. I remember now. Over a year ago. But. Yeah. You, you, you met somebody and they said, meet me in this country and you went. Yeah. That's cool. Yeah. That's really cool. Super cool. I mean, no, isn't it? Yeah. And to be able to afford that and to be able to be like, "Fuck it, I'm gonna go." Yeah. And also, it's crazy because like, you're setting yourself up for it. She's never talking about this, but yes. You're setting yourself up for disaster. Yes. Two. So, it was really good. Right. I really liked her really chill vibes. Yeah. Um, she, yeah, she's back with her ex. Okay. That's that, I remember when I was on the date with her. Yeah. She would like talk about her ex and I was like, he seems great. Like, I would tell her that. I was like, yeah. I was like, don't lose that. Because like, that's kind of feels like that's like your person. Like, I'm very clear with that type of shit. Like, like, I don't want to waste any time when talking to a girl. And like, as much as I really liked her and I was like, I could see this like happening in the future. But I was like, no. And I'm like, the way you talk about your ex is like, this is it's not over. You're going to go back. And she was like, no, it's absolutely not happening. I'm like, I'm fucking, I'm 30 years old. Sweetheart. Like, you're going back. You shouldn't do that on a date. That's bad, that's bad seconds. I, I didn't say like that. I didn't say like that. I'm being very dramatic here on the spot. But like, I was in my head. I was like, oh, this isn't going to work because this guy, she's describing this guy who sounds great. I liked him. I was like, I fuck with this guy. I love to show you pictures. He's very handsome. Oh, yeah. So I had no pump. So yeah, back with the ax. So that didn't go well. But it went well in the in the in the interim interior interior. You had it right the first time. In the interior decorator. In the interstellar. It went well. And I'm glad I did it. Like, I went, I did. How many hours did you travel for this date? Far. Good key. Far probably the four than three hours. Yeah, okay, okay. Very far and very far. And I went to, yeah, I had dinner. First time I actually have done dinner. Yeah, you are. I'm like, obviously, I'm not describing the story as well. How well is that? Because it's a very reserved. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. How do you, God, you at dinner, you're such an alien. Like, because you know, I got to dinner all the time. First, sure, I always, I always want to call you. And you be like, call David and invite David. I'm like, he won't want to go. He won't want to go. So I don't call you. But you at dinner, like, how did you do? What'd you do with your hands? Um, I, what'd you order? What did I order? Yeah. Well, first, you do skinny girl and not eat? Well, first, we got like, drinks at like a sushi spot. Okay. And that was like, I was like, she loved sushi. She was like, no, let's eat here. I fuck you, Kate. So I was like, I was like, I'll just, I'm sure I can find something on the menu. Like, this is no problem at all. Okay. The menu came back. I was like, oh, great, I'll just, I'll just do the pizza. And I'm like, oh, great. It's like, this is she me pizza or something. And I'm like, and she saw the panic in my eyes. She's like, I really don't mind not eating here. Like, we can just go somewhere else. Right. And I was like, okay, let's go. [LAUGHTER] But it wasn't about the food. But no, then we went to the next spot. We just talked. It was really, it was really fun. How did you feel like you were like, oh, fuck. Why did I come here? Or were you like, no, not at all? No, not at all. I was really scared about going then. I was really scared about being in a place by myself. Yeah. To go and meet a girl. But I was really, really stoked that I did it. Okay. You tried to bring a couple of friends with you. I was, yeah, only so you could debrief with them after in person. Yeah, I called my friends. I called my friend Mike and his wife broke for my home town. I was like, listen, I'll pay for your trips right now to this place. I'm like, this is an incredible honeymoon vacation. They just got married. I'm like, just come here with me. There's a good chance. You won't even see me. Yeah. I was like, it'll just be you guys and consider to date like weekend, whatever. Yeah. But if it goes bad, if it goes bad, it'll see me a lot. And I'm going to ruin your date. But if it's cool, great, you'll never see me. And it went great. Okay. It went really, really great. Great. And it went way better than I thought it would. Great. Until after I found out that she was probably going back to X which I'm like
whatever but like it's totally fine yeah um but I'm glad I did it I'm glad I met her she's very sweet um she'll be a cool friend down the road but um I mean you're leaving the part of the story out of course of course I'm leaving things out I can't I can't fully like yeah I'm obviously leaving things out but all in all buckets of fun which due to again um with that person no no oh would you go to another country and see somebody this was a girl that like in my head I like was like you'd also met her before I've met her before and in my head I've like kind of painted an image of her yeah where I was like I've kind of like completed things in my head I was like oh yeah this could be like really this is very much my type oh that's that's a dangerous thing very dangerous I've done that do not do that I've done that and that's why I like that's why I was like I'll go to this country to meet her yeah or hang out with her again um which you shouldn't do um but yeah I think I would I think I definitely do that again I think that's interesting when you like you meet somebody and then you you build up this thing in your mind and then you meet them and you're like oh wait I'm gonna I'm a fucking asshole this is not what I'll give you one little tea of the day okay go I was we were we met somewhere else before in another country right and I was already showed interest yeah and I was like we were out it was really late yeah and I was like I'm gonna call it I'm gonna go to bed so it's like kind of my first time meeting and and she's like wait why are you leaving and I'm like I'm just like really tired and like if I'm gonna be honest like I don't have the energy to like go out and do stuff and like I really like like you but like I just like I'm not in my party girl era that's how I describe it right I'm looking for something more serious yeah I said that that's a big turn on for the ladies and then she was like I want and then she said this and I was like good she's like I want to be married yesterday oh wow and I went okay so I sat back down and then I was like I still have to go soon yeah and she's like and then she was like playing it like a chick I know it's crazy because I was just because I'm genuinely like I am older yeah so I'm like I can't do like I have to be straightforward with the person here I have to be like this is what I want and if and if you can't do that right now that's totally fine yeah like I'll see you down the road or we'll meet again like whatever whatever destiny has for us destiny will call me and again so I was like and then she was like how about this I'm going here yeah in a week yeah meet me here and we'll spend the weekend together wow and I was like done damn and then you did a dramatic exit and then I was like no no you look back at her no no I stayed for I stayed for a couple hours battery rise to me again and then I and then I was like I can't believe I'm actually doing this because I've never gone on a dinner day anywhere I'm proud of you and then and then I went and and I genuinely was really happy about it and she's really great and I wish for the best yeah but yeah well if you're in another country and you want David to come visit yeah yeah let me know he has the means yeah I'm pretty easy about that I actually would rather go on a date with you in a different country oh really I was talking to I was talking to Cindy about this wolfie Cindy yeah and I was like yeah I went on it she was like helping me come up with like she yeah she was helping me come up with like date spots okay I'm like where to take this girl out to dinner and things like that and she's like this is so you for you to have your first date in a different country it was then in LA she's like you're just scared of like going on LA you're just like scared of like how's like seen eat is and stuff and like seeing people out and like that's very true like I felt like so much comfort in being in another country yeah um I think too like it's like um you go out and then yeah people know what you're doing and they're in your business and they look yeah which I was kind of scared about in LA um but it was actually tenfold worse in this country oh yeah yeah it was a lot a lot more people approached me during the date really yeah it was very strange also cool but but but yeah but it did yeah but it was still that everyone was speaking a different language where I was like okay this is kind of nice like it still doesn't feel like everyone's like in my face we're in LA like everybody knows each other yeah it's and you feel douchey and it can go from like I don't know it can go from like this person likes me to this person being an asshole like really quick I don't know yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah and there was like some safety about being on a date in a different country where it's like if it doesn't go well I just go home it like it's like kind of like I come come come come come part mentalize it as like this thing that happened here rather than like mixing it with my LA life I don't anyway yeah if you're in different country you want me to go on date with you true medium yes seriously guys let's good Steve's gonna be 30 soon let's get him wiped up and maybe I can find you somebody I don't think so but I really appreciate it no no I'm kidding all right guys thank you for listening to the pod thank you guys Summary:
FAQs
Jason bought a very expensive car to justify his spending, as he previously emphasized being frugal. He received approval from his accountant, who believed the car would hold or increase in value. He plans to sell it in a few months, likely breaking even or making a profit, and notes that the purchase aligns with future brand deals where expenses are reinvested rather than spent directly.
The conflict arose when Ilya was unable to reschedule his date due to a weather change, and Jason asked him to stay for the party. Natalie reacted strongly, claiming Ilya was being rewarded for being a 'jackass,' reflecting her frustration that Ilya wasn't as personally involved in the group's activities as she is.
The group often argues openly, especially in front of others, but they acknowledge that such conversations are more common among close friends who share a history of trust and familiarity. They note that in professional or formal environments, such behavior might lead to conflict or lawsuits, which is why they feel it's acceptable among themselves.
Jason finds it odd when people say 'great video' because he feels it's not a real compliment. He notes that such feedback feels insincere and that he often responds with a grunt, which he finds frustrating, especially when it's repeated in a way that seems dismissive.
The group is planning a trip to Croatia, followed by France and then Norway. John, a close friend and employee, is being asked to join, though he initially hesitates due to work commitments. The trip includes a large boat with amenities like a movie room and a hot tub, and they aim to celebrate a global Circle K launch event in Norway.
John has a strong reaction to law enforcement situations, likely due to a past experience where he panicked and couldn’t communicate. His girlfriend confirmed this pattern, noting that he freezes when faced with police, suggesting an underlying anxiety or trauma related to authority figures.
