Faszination Rennrad, the Road Bike Podcast
Hello and welcome to a new episode of Faszination Rennrad, the podcast of the Road Bike Magazines.
I am Moro Zweifer and welcome to you today a special episode, namely with Florian Lipowicz. Hello Florian!
Hello! No fun on the side, I am not Florian Lipowicz. Drivers also mean slower cycling. I also look a bit different, I am a bit heavier. I am of course Erik.
Right at the beginning of the introduction, we have a videocast episode again. That means you can also watch it as a video on YouTube and of course also like to subscribe to the channel.
And of course you can find us as Road Bike Magazines for those who could not afford it.
Yes, Florian Lipowicz. Who or what is it?
Some say it's the new Jan Ulrich. I think it's still a bit early, but it was a fantastic season.
It was the 3rd season at Tour de France in 2025. And actually the new Hope Star at the German Classement, heaven, you could say. We met with him and we will play it right away.
Exactly. Maybe to get the people a little off, you said it's the Tour de France 3rd, this year's Tour de France. A few very short biographical indications and then we'll start right away with the passage that we recorded with him.
It's now 2-3 hours since we did it. We're back in the production. Florian Lipowicz, 25 years old, born in Leichingen on the Swedish Alps in September 2000.
He started with the biathlon at the age of 8. He was a very great talent. He was a German master in the school class. He was in the national squad until 2018.
He moved to Seefeld with his parents in Austria. I personally don't know if it's the same with sport, but it definitely means better conditions for the biathlon than in Leichingen on the Swedish Alps.
Then he was injured, he had to fight injuries, among other things, a crossbar thrice. And because of that, a little bit of love for cycling again, he has been riding a lot before, also as a basis for the training for the biathlon.
Right in the summer.
Yes, exactly. But then he came to ride through the injuries of the ship. What I find very exciting is that our one of them has actually been able to experience a little bit.
So he came to the cycling sport through the cycling marathon scene.
Unfortunately, he only drove in the field, where I've never been, namely quite far ahead. Ötztalaradmarathon 2019 ended in 7 hours and 6 minutes. So 18 years old, you have to say that.
And only for those who don't know the Ötztalaradmarathon, the track record is at, I mean, 6 hours 47, so 18 years old, at such a distance, just 20 minutes or 19 minutes to stay over the track record.
He was talented.
Yes, yes. He was also a tri-center in the year, won the Imster Rathmarathon in the year, won the Engadin Rathmarathon in the year.
And then a little bit about that. Yes, but apparently the interest in the teams was driven by the continental team Tyrol, KTM. And he was there for three years, 2020 to 2022.
And he didn't have any really outstanding results, but continuously and solidly, especially when it came to cycling.
And then he came to Bora in 2023.
Yes, so he became a pro without a bigger victory, at least in this UC Rank race.
But there's still a nice story.
He's probably on a contract with Reif Denk, the team leader of Bora Hans-Grohe, who traveled with the bike a hundred kilometers.
And when Reif Denk asked him, "How are you coming back now?"
He said, "Yes, with the bike."
I once read this story.
He also shows a certain work morale, I would say.
Yes, or also love cycling.
He also talked about it in the interview. I also liked what he said there.
And yes, the breakthrough actually came in 2024, you can say.
Yes, very good results.
Then also the third place in the Off-The-World Tour at the Tour de Romondi.
A shorter, but very strong performance at the Giro d'Italia.
Then he got sick.
Unfortunately, he got sick. The overall victory at the Sibiu Cycling Tour in Romania.
And then the most important helper from Primoz Roglic at the Spanish round trip.
At his fourth overall victory, if I'm not mistaken.
And seventh place for Florian Lipovitz, although he really worked a lot there.
Yes, it was indicated there. He put in another one in 2025.
And yes, we met him in Stuttgart.
And I would say, film off, film off.
So Florian, thank you very much for your time.
We are very happy.
Yes, and right at the beginning of my question.
And we agree.
Erich says, you can no longer buy without being recognized.
And everyone wants a selfie.
I say, well, cycling is just cycling.
And a certain bubble.
Who of us has the right?
Well, when I'm at home in Leichengane.
It doesn't happen that often anymore.
But when I go shopping, then the one or the other recognizes me.
But it's not like I don't buy selfies anymore before.
But yes, it's also a small place.
And that's why it wasn't like that before that you can't walk through.
Exactly.
And that means it's relaxed outside of Leichengane?
Yes, so when I'm in Austria, then it's really relaxed.
Maybe when I'm on my way to Innsbruck, it can be that the one or the other recognizes me.
But basically I think it's also nice if you are somehow not recognized.
And can move around quite normally.
How has your life changed in general since July, when you became a third person at the tour?
Yes, not so much.
I would say I'm still the same as before.
Of course, the weeks after that were a bit challenging for me as well.
With some media terms.
Of course, you read a lot about yourself on the Internet.
And being able to switch things off and forgetting the tour a bit.
It wasn't that easy for me.
I was also often sick.
I think my body was just in the middle of the weeks after the concerts.
And I needed a break.
Are you someone who actually reads a lot about yourself?
Or are you someone who shifts things off and says, "I don't want to know anything about this."
Yes, but of course I try to put it away.
I don't really care about it.
But nowadays, I think, it's not that easy.
If you open Instagram or read other articles about riding a bike,
you don't really get away from reading something about yourself.
We looked at 2020 when Pogge won his first Tour de France.
You were in the first season at a KT team.
And you were in the following years, when Pogge and I had this fight again and again.
And you were in the Tour de France for several years.
This year, you were in there all of a sudden.
Take us a bit with you, how was that?
Was it like this?
I followed along for years.
And I always knew I could keep up with it.
This is my place. I belong here.
Or was it like, "What the hell am I doing here?"
Yes, I think with something like this.
I never expected something like this.
If you start a bike sport at a KT level,
then you somehow dream of being able to ride in a World Tour team.
And of course you're super happy if you sign your first contract.
Then you first feel the small races there.
And then you somehow dream to be able to ride a World Tour.
Then you've achieved that.
And then, in my case, it went pretty fast.
That you don't just want to take part in a World Tour and finish it.
But then maybe on the one or the other result.
But of course I've always watched Pugatza and Wengegard from the TV.
I never expected to be able to take part in a World Tour.
And to be able to do so in the region.
Yes, my coach has always said that it wasn't surprising for him.
But for me, it came very well and I never expected it.
Was there a moment when Pugatza and Wengegard also reacted more to you in the race?
Because at the beginning it was the unknown.
And then you've already entered good results in the past.
Did there ever be a race where you noticed,
"Oh, but now they're going after me when I go into the attack?"
Yes, well, I mean, for example after Paris-Nitza.
Then you already knew the one or the other team.
Yes, when I get to the start, I think I've already planned a bit
that I was also on the result there and that you have to take care of me a little.
When I look at Basque now.
But when you get to Dauphiné,
there are still a bit of the mini-tour.
And there are of course also other drivers at the start,
where you maybe have to find your place yourself again.
I mean, otherwise Wengegard and Pugatza still go to another level.
And the two have their own race.
And then it's rather the fight around place three,
where you have to defend yourself.
Did there ever be a moment where you generally noticed in the peloton,
"Okay, now they're looking at me differently.
When you drive through the field, you open the door and I'm going through."
Because there are these stories that we always have to fight as a new professional.
And then you're driven out of the clouds.
Are they already here and there with respect now?
Yes, I think the racetrack has changed a bit.
I think I've let go of this.
I don't think there are any rules in the field anymore.
No matter what you say.
Yes, except for Pugatza or Wengegard.
I still think it's a bit different.
But in the end, everyone is there to race.
I mean, everyone gets to say on the radio that you have to be there in front of them.
And that the position is important.
And yes, it doesn't get big on the other drivers with respect.
I mean, I think if others see me,
and see my team in front of them, then of course you're already left out.
But basically, yes, for everyone and for everyone against you.
That's why there are no big rules there.
I think during the tour you also saw this year,
my 30 drivers stop to blink, then the race is still going on.
Yes, there will be the one or the other existing rules thrown over a heap.
There comes the advertising caravan.
Today advertising is our own thing.

You can also find the link in the show notes.
Have fun reading our RoadBike magazines and of course with the next podcast episode.
That was the advertising caravan.
You didn't make a big name for yourself on the 18th stage after Kursche Vell.
You came in from behind and said, "Let's go."
You were in front for a few minutes.
What happened to your head?
Did you have a run of euphoria?
Or did you already know that the closing was still going on?
Yes, I was a bit out of my mind.
I had the luck to go forward to Pugacar and Jonas.
And behind me was only a bit away.
And of course I didn't know what to do.
I think our sports leaders also fought with themselves a bit.
In such a situation, they don't know how it works, how you feel.
Then I made the decision to go back again.
Because they also took out the front.
In memory, I was like this.
Now I fought for it.
We have the distance to the back.
Now it would be nice if we somehow make a bummel ride here.
Then I made the attack on my own risk.
But on the way to the last mountain, of course, I fought a bit internally.
Whether it was the right decision, but if you hit it, then it doesn't really work out.
You have to move on, you can go back.
Yes, and then of course, after that stage, I was always smarter.
I could have had a top day.
I think Ben O'Connor won the stage.
I made the decision to go back.
And we drove up there together.
We could have given the scenario.
Then there was actually no criticism afterwards.
But in the end, we all ran.
I don't think there was criticism at all.
There were many people who said they would have to act differently.
And why did you do that and not differently?
Yes, definitely.
I think there were enough people who left their comments.
Of course, as a rider, you try to stop and not read it.
But you don't really get away from it.
You don't have to read one or the other comment.
In the end, you are a team and you try to look forward.
In this case, I still had the way to go.
We lost time, but we didn't lose the race.
I knew that I was actually going through stages.
And that's why I was motivated on the next day.
I think I could show again that I can hear from the front.
You just said looking forward.
Of course, Tadej Bogacar is standing everywhere.
And then there are different opinions of the rider.
Your team colleague Primoz Rogelitsch once said,
if you look at which races Bogacar doesn't ride, then you get in touch.
Now Paul Seixas has said in a young lecture,
no, I want to beat Bogacar as long as he is still full at the height.
There are two sides between which you can sing. Where do you see yourself?
I'm happy when I can race against him.
Of course, you want to be successful yourself.
Good results are easy.
But if you have the source against the best rider in the world,
then I like it.
There are still places 2 and 3 where you can fight for it.
I don't see it as negative now.
So the great chance in the Road Bike Podcast to say the fight,
I'll get rid of it.
No, no, no.
Yes, that's a shame.
But we still have some time.
But general, how would you rate it?
You are now, of course, in two years.
Very focused in the public.
You have great results.
I think the first moment was also known by a broader range of public.
It was probably the Vuelta in the last year with the Helfer role for Primosh Roglic.
This year you put one more on it.
At this point I would like to emphasize again that we have already asked for the term for the Termin Podcast in April.
But how do you see the development, how does it go on?
If you get so far ahead so quickly,
then of course, expectations and everyone wants to talk to you.
But is there a moment when the development only takes a few steps forward?
Or do you say that it goes on?
Where do you see yourself?
In the last years, I think I have taken a big step.
I mean, everyone knows that it could go on like this,
but I don't think it's bad if you take a step back.
Of course, you want to be able to connect to the success,
to one or the other percent.
Yes, after the Vuelta last year, I have already made pressure for this season.
I mean, the expectations were not so high,
but you want to prove yourself and show that it wasn't an extraordinary year,
but that you also listen to it.
Well, I've made another step this year.
I would be happy if it goes on like this next year.
I can connect to the success.
I mean, that's also my goal.
But I don't make the big pressure myself.
And if you take a step back, then there's no world at all.
What do you need so that it works for you?
What is the environment, family or total mental relaxation?
How can you prove your best performance?
Of course, family and friends play a very important part.
And otherwise, I always try to balance between team and race
and to spend time at home.
Yes, that it somehow fits well.
For me, it's always important that after three weeks of training,
I can go home again before the race,
that I get a little distance to cycling.
Yes, for me it's just important that my life not only revolves around cycling,
but that I get distance to cycling there.
I think only then can I motivate myself to the race
and really focus on it.
With this increase or with your results, the expectations increase
and the comparison with this one German cyclist,
who has won the dead before, of course, is about Jan Ulrich.
How do you see such comparisons?
Is it earthy? Does it stress you? Does it bother you?
I don't care, I'm Florian Lipovitz and Jan Ulrich is Jan Ulrich.
Well, I mean, on the one hand, that is of course one thing.
If you are somehow drawn to the comparison,
but in the end I am Florian Lipovitz and I am the person now
and that's why I don't want to focus too much on it
or to compare it somehow.
That's why I'm happy, of course, but in the end I'm a person of my own.
What do you do to protect yourself from too many expectations?
It's not that easy for me, it's important that I...
I just try not to let it get so close to me
and well, in today's time with Instagram
and you always call the media,
that's why you can't get past it somehow, to be able to blend it out.
But also at that point, I think it's super important
if you have a strong environment
and it's also a bit of a distraction
and where the advice board is not in the foreground when you are at home
and I think that works out quite well.
You recently had your first meeting for the season in 2026
and Rimko Evinapol is coming to you as a team.
You probably already met him as a new team colleague
and not only as a contrast.
What do you do for an impression
or have you already noticed a different image of him
when you were with him?
Well, we had a four or five-day team camp.
I have to say, the days are always super busy there.
In the past, we had a slightly longer team camp,
but now it's super short
and that's why we have a program from 8 a.m. to 18 a.m.
There is not much time left to get in touch.
We talked a bit with each other
and I'm looking forward to the next year.
In the end, I think everyone is doing well
when you have such a top driver
and maybe also for me,
I mean, he will draw a lot of attention to himself
and maybe it's also good for me
when I can do my own thing
and not to be in the middle of it.
That's probably the biggest difference between the two of you.
You seem to be very, how should I put it,
restrained and Remco is already someone
who sometimes gets his opinion out faster
than it might be good.
That's probably the big difference
between the two characters,
Florian Lipovitz and Remco Evenepol.
Yes, definitely.
I think Remco enjoys the attention
and being in the middle of it.
For me, that doesn't really matter to me.
I'm happy when I'm back for myself.
Maybe that's why we get along very well
and I can look at myself.
I think it also worked out well last year
with Primos.
That's exactly why I'm not worried about it.
Have you talked to the team about role distribution
and maybe even race in the upcoming season?
Who will go where,
where maybe you won't go together?
Or is it still in the stars?
Yes, of course.
Now the planning begins.
I mean, it will take until December.
I think we already have the fixed plan in January.
Of course, as a driver,
you can always express your wishes
and say you'd like to go race and race.
In the end, it's up to the sporting leaders
which program they decide on.
I don't know yet.
I think there will be one or two races
where we stand together at the start.
Of course, the team doesn't want the four or five best drivers
to be in one race,
but they want to share it with others.
That's exactly what I think.
There's always a chance.
You definitely don't stand in the way.
Which race was on your list of wishes at the very top?
Yes, of course.
I think for every driver to go the race is something special.
Of course, I'd like to be at the start next year.
But there are a lot of aspects that come with it.
Glass and preparation take two or three months.
It can also go much deeper.
That's why it's always open.
The TourCader is only two or three weeks ahead of the Tour.
The Tour will be fixed.
But it's definitely in the discussion.
I would be happy if I can stand at the start again.
When we finish the Tour, what are the races like?
The Radsport is distributed throughout the year.
What are the races where you say,
"We're having a lot of fun."
Maybe I want to try something that you haven't driven yet,
but I'd like to try it.
Or what do you say,
"This should actually be my own list of wishes."
That would be a dream.
Yes, we've talked a bit about one-day races.
So far, I've been around more and had difficulties with one-day races.
The Ronde or Lies are races that you might like to drive at the starting point.
I don't think that's going to happen next year.
But it's definitely a goal in the coming years.
I haven't driven the Lombardia to the end last year.
That's why I'd like to hang it off in my plan.
I mean races like Roubaix or Milan San Remo.
Maybe I'll drive them one day, but I don't think I'm that sad.
Have you seen the race track for the next year?
It was recently presented.
It's a two-time Alpe d'Huez,
and it's a two-time Alpe 20, more than 500,000m high.
Have you seen it and what's your opinion on the track?
I've flown a bit over it.
Of course, I'm not really busy with it.
It's still on season, so...
But it's definitely going to be a tough race,
and I think it's going to be exciting.
The first week will definitely show where it stands,
and compared to this year's race, it's going to be something different.
I'm curious to see how the first four or five parts will turn out,
because I think you can definitely lose a lot of time.
Do you get what's going on in the racetrack scene?
We've been experiencing a certain boom for a few years,
especially with the gravel bike, but also in the racetrack area.
Maybe different, because we just had the big German names from the past.
That's how it all started.
It's different here. It's been going on for a few years,
and now it's going to be a successful German rider.
Are you happy with that?
Do you take that into account or is it just in your current situation?
Are you pushing it far away and it's not like that at all?
No, of course I'm happy with that.
Of course my dad is also a rider, and he's also a bit of a rider and so on.
That's why I get that myself, of course,
that the racetrack is definitely becoming more popular in Germany.
I think after the tour this year, there was still a bit of hype in the racetrack.
And of course I'm happy if I can contribute to that.
And if there is something for the cycling sport.
As I said before, I'm not that big in public,
but if you're on your own and people are looking forward to seeing you,
asking for pictures and so on, I'm happy about that.
And as I said, if you can contribute a bit,
then without a fan it won't be possible for us either.
That's right, of course.
We always have, when we have a prominent guest,
the rubric, the really important cycling sport questions.
These are either "or" questions,
where you can decide between one of the two things
and of course you can also briefly reason why you decide that way.
What do you want to do with the start?
Yes, I'll start with the start.
The really important cycling questions, "tupless" or "schlauch"?
Schlauch, okay.
Are you generally such a technically interested rider
or are you the driver of the bike?
Yes, in the meantime, I simply take the bike and go.
We have our own specialists there,
who take care of themselves day and night.
I don't want to get involved in that.
There are the freaks who also say,
"Oh, I feel the saddle,
have you made it 0.5 mm too deep or so?"
Or here, there are the new tires,
so you don't count them.
No, of course you think about it yourself,
but we have two specialists last year,
who are completely behind.
I trust them and it has worked out quite well so far.
The next question is about the weather.
Rain or roll?
It depends on how cold it is,
but then it's better to roll rain than roll.
Okay.
Three hours of interval training
or six hours of rest?
Three hours of interval training, yes.
I like to ride and I like to ride long rides,
but I'm having fun to choose a bit
and then the time goes faster
if you spoil your program somehow.
Kopfsteinflaster or windchanger?
I don't think that's my special area.
But if you had to make a decision?
Then I would rather go to the windchanger.
It's hard until it's decided,
but as soon as the groups are there,
you get a bit of a goal in the group.
So Kopfsteinflaster, I don't think that's my thing.
Pizza or pasta?
Pizza.
What's the general topic of nutrition?
I'll call it restrictions.
If you're a pro or a general sportsman,
you have to do certain things,
such as regeneration, nutrition, training,
traveling and so on.
If we focus on nutrition,
you're a kneader.
It's hard for me during the season
to live an ascetic life,
or do you think that's the right thing to do?
Well, I think I listen to the drivers.
When it comes to the tour,
you look at the nutrition,
but I don't really let myself be forbidden.
I like chocolate, I like chips.
It was before the tour.
Well, I don't put myself in that position,
but I think that with sports,
you have a good sport to be able to eat enough.
If you consume between 8,000 and 5,000 calories a day,
then you know that the portions are big enough.
I think that plays a role for chocolate,
not a big weight anymore.
I think you have to be a bit free in your head.
If you need it a bit,
a piece of cake or something,
then I think it's totally right.
Does the cake belong to the coffee?
Are you the type of coffee stop?
Or do you prefer your training?
I like to stop coffee.
Before I came to Radspor,
I didn't drink coffee as well.
It looks different now.
I always have the problem when I stop my training,
that my pulse is so high,
and I don't feel well afterwards.
When I stop,
it's always in the last hour of being at home
or at the hotel.
I know that I can still do it,
but I don't feel well in the middle of it.
I totally agree with you.
Last question.
Radsport or beer?
Radsport.
I like beer very much.
I think it's always a part of my heart.
But I feel really comfortable in Radsport.
I used to say that I can walk for a long time,
but without Radsport it won't work for me.
I can cycle without walking for a long time,
so it's still a part of my life in Radsport.
I feel a little sick about beer.
But I don't feel any nostalgia.
Radsport is also a part of my life in Radsport.
I'm also a big fan of chocolate and chips.
I always come with gummy bears.
That's my mix.
I've never been to the 3rd place in Tour de France.
Maybe it's not so good,
but that's my personal tip.
The gummy bears come often to the 3rd place in training.
Well, thank you very much.
I have to thank you.
We look forward to the next season,
the next years,
but we hope that you will keep the calm,
the calm that you have now,
and the wrong expectations.
I appreciate your opportunity.
Thank you.
Mr. Moritz, it's an exciting conversation.
I've never been to the 3rd place in Tour de France,
if I'm not mistaken.
You always think,
"Wow, these are the total stars of sports."
It's very glamorous.
You don't get close to the guys.
On the other hand, I think Florean is very close to them.
He always has a sense of importance in his family.
Did you do the same?
What do you think about the conversation?
I think it sounds a bit negative.
I wouldn't say that now.
But in no case,
one of the guys with the face on the table,
said, "I'm here now,
and now all the eyes are on me."
I thought it was very, very pleasant.
I don't know,
I can't remember,
but he was also the 3rd in Tour de France.
I'd like to talk about that.
I've already spoken to the 3rd in Tour de France,
but I think I know what you mean
by the fact that people come in
and take the whole space for themselves.
I would almost say,
the way you and I show up,
the way you and I show up.
Just a bit faster on the bike.
A bit faster.
I mean, of course, we're not directly
on the opposite side of them.
Maybe something is still going on.
Maybe we'll let it go.
Maybe we'll let it go.
Yes, but...
I found that in the conversation,
we talked a bit about the camera in advance.
I also found it a bit...
Yes, I mean,
it just comes a bit more carefully.
But what I also think is good
comes a bit more carefully.
That's how it went to me.
I think that this...
especially around it,
and we belong to it now,
a bit around it,
that's what's not his biggest passion now.
I don't think this press term is the one
he's dreaming of tonight.
But he did it
quite sympathically
and authentically.
Yes, that was my impression.
That he didn't try
to play a role that he had to play.
He just tried to play a role that he had to play.
That's how he is.
And he also said that
when we talked about the comparison
with Jan Ulrich,
he said that he wants
to write his own story
and where it leads to.
Yes, you have to see that.
What else did he tell you
in these conversations behind the camera?
I already noticed one thing.
He became more relaxed
when the camera was off.
Yes, definitely.
There was more of a conversation
between people who like to ride a bike.
Which I can understand quite well.
Even now,
when we have the camera running,
it's always different
than when you talk normally.
But he liked to ride a bike.
I found it exciting.
He had a six-week break
because he also had an OP.
And he was sick.
The first training week
was about 10-12 hours.
He just said that.
I thought,
"I'll do that in the summer
when the weather is nice."
And I'm like that in front of me.
Then you can clearly see
that the guys don't do anything
other than riding a bike.
For 10 hours of training or sports,
in the broadest sense,
he also said in the podcast,
"When he sleeps, he works
because he belongs to the generation
for his profession."
Yes, 10-12 hours.
Now the entry.
But in high phases,
of course, it goes on.
I think after the next vacation,
I'll work 10-12 hours a week.
It's actually a good format
for our chief editor.
Yes, he then told
a little bit about the team camp.
Yes, this is of course a new situation.
How did you perceive it?
What did he tell about this new constellation
with Remco?
That's of course a thing
that still lies in your veins, right?
Yes, I think that
also from the side of the team,
the riders are clearly briefed.
"Hey, please practice back-holding."
Because I think you have to
expand how you are now
with these different riders
with your leading applications,
which you have the right to
how you now get them on a nennar.
And of course with that,
the Tour de France is of course everywhere.
Because of course Remco Evinepol
was already a third at the tour.
Florian Lipowitz was already a third at the tour.
Both have justified applications.
And especially Remco,
he now has a big ego.
At least it always seems like that.
He is such a team intern,
but I can imagine that he is already
with the VAUS on the table and says,
"Yes, I am the captain here."
"I am already standing on the balance list up there."
And I want to win the Tour de France
or at least try
to hit the bokeh chart.
And I think Florian Lipowitz is
rather the one who says,
"Come on, talk to me."
Then we both go to France
and look in the next three weeks
for the first time.
So he is rather the back-holding part
and lets the legs speak
than the tongue.
Of course, it does not sound
super-sympathetic for Remco.
So Remco has already delivered
more than in the last years.
You have to say that.
You have to be the best time driver in the world.
Currently with security.
Yes, it will be exciting.
I found it very interesting how he said that.
Maybe they will improve themselves
diplomatically.
But maybe there is something
true about it.
That they either
take themselves from the public.
At least in people
from Remco in the direction
of Florian Lipowitz.
So you have to wait.
I am definitely excited.
In any case, it definitely helped me
today because the
anticipation for the next season
is rising.
It has not become smaller.
We already know the route
of the dead France next year.
It is difficult and it has a difficult end.
But it is already at the beginning
that there are many stages
where you can maybe
sit with a team
Tadeh Pogacca.
Because I suspect
next year in 1 vs 1
Tadeh Pogacca will still be the best driver.
Remco will not be able to hit him.
Probably not.
But if you have one on the other
stage, you can
move into a group.
Or you have to
try to come into a group
and Tadeh Pogacca has to react
to his team.
Of course, it is assumed that
Remco would be ready to sacrifice
Florian Lipowitz would be ready to sacrifice himself.
So that is always a tactic
where you lean out of the window
and where you can also win a lot
and it will be interesting to see
whether there is such a big
combination in the team.
That is really the one for the other
horse.
If Remco wins even a polish Tour de France
and Florian Lipowitz is a great
helper
and Florian is happy with it,
then it would be great.
But whether it comes like that,
wait for it.
The team environment
and the question after the team service
is really strong.
And us too.
I mean the last tour
to the Col de la Lois
where
Primoz Roglic could have worked
in the valley.
He could have climbed up.
That has not been done.
The question is whether Remco
and Florian Lipowitz will do that
or would do that.
We can only speculate
at the end of the day.
That is the next unknown
in this team.
What is the place for Roglic?
That is really difficult.
Definitely not in the role
that he would have liked
to win the Tour de France.
I think the train has left.
Maybe a Giro,
maybe a Vuelta,
maybe a Basque Country ride.
But now Primoz Roglic can say
I am the captain here
and Remco and Florian are my helpers.
I think he knows
that the train has already left.
Then the question is
if you take someone with you to the Tour
that has not shown in the year 2025
that it does not take
exactly with the team work.
At least it looks like that.
You do not always know
what is going on inside.
We will see.
But it is
an exciting thing.
I think
I have often said
that I came
to cycling
in the summer of 1997
in January.
That is
almost
the revival.
A part
to have a German driver
that is so strong
and at this level
can potentially also
take part in the Tour.
If everything stays like it is
that is always the question.
Do you have to see that
as one hit wonder
or is it
even better for all participants
if they do not get into
this expectation?
What do you say?
I think it is always very difficult
to predict results
for the next few years.
But you can always see
that you have improved yourself.
The jumps
are getting smaller and bigger.
You also have to
hope that
Tadej Pogacar, Jonas Wengigard
who was even stronger
as Florian Lipowicz
that they might get in the way
or maybe for some reason
are not there at the Tour.
Then there are other drivers
such as Tadej Pogacar
or Paul Sechast
who are
at least as big talents
as Florian Lipowicz
and even if Florian Lipowicz
would be able to hit Tadej Pogacar in three years
it might still be the third place
because in the Isak del Toro
it is on a completely different level.
That is why
I always have to think about Egan Bernal
everyone said
he will win the Tour de France
and he has never won again
even with the accident.
I wanted to say that
but with Egan Bernal
everyone said that he will win
the Tour de France in the next 10 years
and he has never won again.
Of course there is a question
how is the public
with Florian Lipowicz
how do we go as media
with him
can we do
best practice
or communicate
ideas
as you said
ideas
if you will be a third at the Tour de France
the next goal will have to be
second or first
it is completely normal
that it will swing
and that is the question
how do you define
growth
or how do you define
success
I already told you
when we were on the way to the production
Florian Lipowicz will be a mega Tour de France
and will be fifth
can also happen
maybe it is also a goal
to say no
I will not ride the Tour de France
but I will ride the Giro
and try to win the Tour de France
or I will try to win a Basquemand run
because
you have already counted the success
of Florian at the beginning
but he was not there
it was a lot of strong results
against very strong opponents
but he has not jumped out to win
and maybe he says
I just want to win a run
and then it is
maybe a little smaller on the paper
but a win is always a win
what do you take
as a journalist
in the coming years
in the report
report
what I think is very bad
are always
I have also mentioned in the podcast
but compare them to Ulrich
they will always be pulled
what I just said
I think you just have to give him the space
to develop yourself
you have to let him rest
so that he can be good
and
I think we also asked the team
that we can make the podcast
of course there is a certain
report report about it
and it is also important for him
and for the team and for the public
and at the same time I think you have to
take out these expectations
he has come to the world top
he is going to the Grand Tour podium
probably in the next few years
if he stays healthy
and otherwise everything fits
but to win a Tour de France
to address the elephant in the room
it is just
such a big thing
it just has to fit so much
what you sometimes don't have in your hand
and that's why I think
if he ends his career in 10 years
and the third place
was his best result at the Tour de France
then that's also great
I think that's how you have to
try to see it
in addition to that
of course you yourself are also Ulphorosh
when he was there
he really sat there from the TV
and thought, yes, yes, yes
now you have music
and maybe even get some time
maybe even attack the Winge Guard
of course it went a little back
but I thought it was cool that he tried
he said, if they all look at each other
then I'll drive
yes
I think the difficulty
will be
now also for us journalists
to arrange it a bit
and because we are
then again as professional media
different than the
sports editorial
that are a little further away
or maybe also the editorial
that have nothing to do
with sports
yes
I think you just have to arrange it
as you said
and I actually agree
when it was now the highlight
in his career
I think we also
in the moment of the experience
you just talked about it
how you sat there at the stage 18
after the Kurshewell
had a good time
and that may also have to be enough
and maybe you have to yourself
always in
at the exam positions
as far as I am concerned
in case of such a stress
situation, pressure situation
we should definitely avoid
experienced
where I do not know
have to repeat history
maybe
the church in the village
just enjoy the moment
when he is there and when again
what comes in the direction
and yes, we will
of course stay on
we will accompany it
and hope
of course from your own
sports drill
of course also
that there will be something
further but we will see
yes
nice ending word
I think what is also very important
especially when you compare it
to how you draw an earring
I think you have to try
that the press does not
or the public does not provide
a scandal
I guess in Florian Lippowitz it will not be that way
but of course it will be everything
celebrate the off season
of course it will be on it
but I think that is very interesting
because we also have on the way
of the interview back in the editorial
we have talked about it
and that was our entry question
I actually believe
as soon as he
Florian Lippowitz does not
in somehow a sports related situation
has nothing branded
team clothing
or even with the bike
on the way and in team clothing
then I think
the people
in this situation they recognize him
but as soon as it is not the case
he does not recognize him
and I think he has a completely different
extent of calm
distance and also a normal life
than it was with Jan Ulrich
in 1997 and in the following years
yes but of course
if he wins one day the tour
will probably also change
at that moment
it is already
that he has his distance
potentially
yes I think the team will also pay great attention
I mean they are also all
experience his environment
around him and
that was also maybe as a story
behind the story so how it now
came to this podcast
we just asked that
months ago and in spring
in spring 2025
after the
Paris-Nitza
after the Paris-Nitza podium
and I even mean
before the Basque Country
where he became the 4th
so really relatively early and then it was always
no now not right now
because now the season is up
now there is a high training camp and so on
and that was
after the tour it was first time anyway
he was pulled out of the
I think it was then also generally
when it fits
and now it fits
and hopefully
you have
prepared the interview
and
please let your assessment
where Florian Lipowicz can
win the Tour de France
does he have to win one day
or do you also say
he can also win around the church tower
I don't care or nothing
or nothing
yes, please write us
what you have done
from the interview
and please subscribe to the youtube channel
please subscribe to the podcast "Fascination Rennrad"
if you have now heard it for the first time
and of course look at the kiosk
because there is a road bike
as well as printed magazine
10 times a year
and 4 times as
gravel bike
we try to bring
the "Fascination Rennrad" to you
and we are happy if you stay loyal to us
in that sense
see you next time
bye
