First Fight with Girlfriend

The podcast episode centers on a major roommate conflict stemming from a failed "boys' night." Dave, Alex, Ilya, and John planned a guys-only evening, but John secretly invited his girlfriend Julia and her friend Hannah to the same party, failing to tell them it was meant to be exclusive. Ilya, who had told his own girlfriend to stay home, was livid upon discovering Julia's presence, leading to an awkward and tense atmosphere at the party. Julia, already sensing something was off, was further enraged when John texted her to stay away from the group, prompting her to confront the guys outside their car, calling them out for their rudeness. The group dissects the blame, concluding John's poor communication was the root cause, but also acknowledging their own mishandling of the situation by excluding Julia and Hannah. The argument evolves into a debate about the importance of boys' nights and the dynamics of male friendships versus mixed-gender interactions. The episode then lightens up with a discussion about the new Spider-Man film, with the group praising Tom Holland's portrayal and debating the movie's success, alongside a playful hypothetical about celebrity crushes that exposes John's indecisiveness, much to everyone's amusement.

what's up guys well back to views we are back with another special episode this one it's about to get heated straight from the start from the beginning jay this this podcast is really interesting because we had our first big roommate fight oh wow you didn't even know about this no no one knows here it's really interesting julia was julia who's dating john john who's my best friend from my hometown was almost well actually let me not let me let me start let me backtrack okay this is how it started we told john and i started a group chat with ilia john and alex and we're like hey guys boys night tomorrow okay let's go get a couple beers and let's like have a good time and ilia and john kept asking in the group chat john's like uh ill why don't you bring emma and uh ilia's like well because i want to have a fucking fun night with the boys like this is it's boys night and john said that two times and i knew where john was going with this john was trying to insinuate that he wants to bring julia okay but ilia made it very clear that emma's not coming it's boys night and not only that then ilia texted us that morning and was like hey so something something's come up i have to hang out with emma and we were like well let's go around this like why don't you hang out with emma first and then you do boys night later so so ilia was like okay i'm hanging out with emma from 6 30 to 10 30 and then you guys have me for the rest of the night for boys night and then uh we go and then and then we're going to this party that's where we're all meeting up uh the roommates and i are going to the party and ilia is going to meet us there with his own car actually let me backtrack just one more second we're we're going we all meet downstairs and julia comes down and so now alex and i alex what are you thinking well no first i was like doing something in the kitchen and i see julia in a dress i'm like oh you're coming i thought it was boys night but like in a like whatever in like in like a nice in like a nice way sure there's no nice way to say that okay that's the wrong thing you got alex you should have fucking you should have turned around and looked in the fridge no in the moment i meant nothing by it and then later i was like oh my god what did i say yeah it's like when a girl walks in and you go is that what you're wearing yeah and you don't mean anything by it wait no that's not what she's saying that's not what he's saying it's like that oh it's like that it's like yeah so okay so then and then also julia texted me like an hour before and she's like she's like hey is it possible to add me and my friend hannah to the list and obviously i'm like okay but in the back of my head i'm like john didn't fucking tell her it's boys night and like i'm not gonna break the news to her sure because that's not my responsibility and i feel really fucking weird about it yeah so then we're on our way to the party and ilia facetimes he's like who you guys with and i'm like uh-oh here it goes he's not gonna come anymore and i'm like because because he was set on boys night and he told emma to kick rocks basically just because we're having this special night us boys which really never happens and then i'm like uh i'm with i'm with uh john julia and alex and uh and he's like oh okay and then he meets us there at the party and he comes right up to me and he goes what the fuck is going on he goes is this boys night or is this not boys night and now we're being very weird around julia and her girlfriend we're like in our own little area because john because ilia is chewing out john ilia's like you fucking moron like i had to tell my girlfriend to stay home because it's boys night now this makes me look stupid that julia is here and also it's boys night like i want to just hang out with the boys like we love julia so let's put that allegedly allegedly so like we have no we have no problem with julia but when you when the boys are hanging out it's very different this i mean this is when all the girls are hanging out whatever and then and then we get to the and then we get to the car because we're leaving we're leaving we don't know what to do so alex and i and ilia go to the car ahead of john julia and her girlfriend hannah um because they're talking to me about the party so we're like let's go brief in the car and figure out what happens all of a sudden julia comes up to the window while me alex and ilia are in the car and the rolls royce the lighting's amazing so i can see everything clearly and julia goes fuck you guys fuck you guys fuck you ilia and fuck you david and we're like what and ilia and i are so weird because we've been awkward already and this was so awkward we just started sinking into our seat right we're like what the fuck what's going on what's going on and julia's really i mean juliet go ahead yeah i was pissed like really pissed and i'm usually so chill okay i'm like 90 chill of course we know that was so wait were they just gonna leave you by yourself we've we've heard the male side of this story this entire time no no well i'm about to get no this is this is the gender that fucked up here are the males yeah but it is just is the male that's what it is it's just john all male john at the party fucked up in this situation no first of all john never communicated with her that it's boys night strike one and then at the party john texts julia and goes hey it's boys night can you walk around somewhere else oh my god okay so that's what sent julia into fucking rage and i'm trying not only that but then we were pissed because we were like john you fucking snitching bitch like you went to julia and you told her that we're like frustrated because it's boys night so it was john and i told john i was like a friend to everyone as a friend to no one and you just played all fucking sides and you just fucked everything um so okay go ahead julia your turn you can talk to you can talk to you yeah yeah yeah thank you yeah do you have any questions women unite go jewel get him so um starting off the night obviously they were all being weird like so weird and i'm like empath final boss you know like i feel right under me she's no she's like i am i'm the leader of the no he's obviously not and then she's there i'm like the top empath so when i like talked to al down in the kitchen i already knew like something was off i was like he's being a little weird and that's in your head no that's so in your head out i can read you like the back of my fucking hand i know when something's going on i like we were like i was quiet yes you were just really like weird so i already knew something was off there i went upstairs to john and i told him i was like hey if this is a boys night like i don't have to go you fucking idiot she even gave you an out there i did and i was like i don't have to go like i don't want to like over step anything like i understand that this is like a sacred thing for them right and then he was like no no no like it's fine it's fine and at this point i already like dragged my friend hannah into it right so wait john should say something too so he's here yeah what do you want what do you want me to say yeah he's fucking guilty i just i just wanted to kumbaya with everyone in that moment in that moment what are you thinking yeah when she when she goes up to you and she's like is it boys night is this the first time you directly asked him if it was boys night um no we also talked about it before because he he's the one who told me to invite hannah oh what the fuck he was like you should invite hannah wait a minute john logic right he has a friend yeah john logic okay let me explain and then i was like are you sure because i because he had mentioned something about ilia coming and then i was like if this is a boys night like i don't want to go like i'm fine like i'll stay home and he's like no no no invite hannah text dave so he told me to text you which now i'm realizing is like he like manipulated the fuck out of the situation because he knew you wouldn't tell me no yeah i mean that's why i'm okay keep going keep going yeah but do you have anything to say about that part me yeah you john sky's a little extra blue today huh okay you said the sky's a little extra blue yeah translating for john okay i'm just okay in my head all right i i knew where where the party was this is my favorite john point the party was at the biggest house in la ginormous house 50 000 square foot yeah house actually 50 000 square feet so john thought go i thought like hey we could all be in the same house and we could all be in the same place but just doing our own thing that's not how that works when you're in a relationship with somebody john you can't just tell him to kick rocks in the corner yeah if it is 50 000 square feet that's crazy john thought the party was so big go hang out by the mini golf course yeah john thought the house was so big that he can just have both of the nights at the same time he can have boys night yeah by the pool and then in the kitchen he'll have girls night yeah yeah like i just you know it's a big place it's not like i'm not telling you go somewhere in that corner no you literally can't see him honestly the entire night if you wanted to okay all right julia continue your story okay so then that happened i already knew vibes were off we get in the car it's awkward as fuck it's so silent like no one's really talking to each other and so i was trying to like make jokes like oh we all hate each other or something like what's going on and then we're talking about how weird and silent it was in the car yeah first i brought up i was like the rose voice is like really quiet like it's like it kind of it's almost like one of those rooms where you can like hear your blood and people say like if you're in it for too long you'll go insane yeah and then julia goes yeah yeah that's right okay i thought we just all like hated each other today or something and then and then we You're all kind of like silent. Like, no, no, no, it's not that. It's the silence of the Rolls Royce. You obviously mentioned that for a reason. Did you read that? Because I didn't read that. For sure. Yeah. Yeah, that's why it was so awkward. Yeah. Wow. Well, dude, you got to fix that because we don't know. No, I wasn't going to because it was not my fight to fucking. I'm not going to fight with somebody's girlfriend about boys night. Why didn't you just drop it right then and there? Yeah. Drop what? Just drop boys night. Be like, hey, we'll do it another night. Exactly, right? That's what that was. That was a smart thing. Because it already was dropped because she was in the car. It wasn't dropped. No, no, no. None of your actions were ever dropped. At that point, you go like this. You go, oh, fuck. John fucked up. I cut my losses. Let's all go have a good night. Yeah. And there's no reason why Ilya should be yelling at John. He's a grown man. Because Ilya wasn't going to come out if it wasn't like a boys night. Like, we don't have boys nights. We don't ever have boys nights, right? To get Ilya to come out is very rare. Sure. So him coming out, I was already on the FaceTime. I wanted to hang up right away. Just so he'd just meet us at the house and I'll deal with it there. Because I know this. I mean, just like it happened at the house. The second he got there, he was like, why the fuck did you tell me to come out? Right. And he already told his girlfriend to leave. So I couldn't just drop it because this was going to be a problem once we got to the house. So I was like trying to think of how this is going to unfold. Okay. And then at the house. Yeah. So then we get to the house and then they're acting very strange the second we walk in where I feel like, oh, I should maybe go home. Like, this is really weird. Like, they're. They're kind of like with each other. Like, I'm literally standing behind John the whole time. I'm like, God, I hope my friend gets here. And then I was worried. Oh, my God. When she gets here, how are they going to act with her? So then she finally gets there. They are like nowhere to be found. Right. Like, I don't even know where they went. And then my friend, like, we finally like go have to walk around and find them. 50,000 square foot home. And then Dave doesn't even look at her and walks by her. And I was like, oh, my God. And then thank God you saved yourself by turning around. And I was like, oh, hey, Hannah. Alex was also being weird as hell. Like, you were staring at us, but you didn't even come up and say hi. I did. I did. No. Yes, I did. You were staring at us for so long. And then after he passed her, then you came. Because they were probably talking to people. Anyways, that was like weird vibes for me. And then finally we get upstairs and my friend Hannah is like, hey, like, I can go home. And I was like, no, like, it's fine. Like, they're just being like weird. I don't know. And then at that point, I'm like, oh, my God, she knows. So I feel even worse. Right, right, right. And then John texts me. Hey, we're having a boys night. Can you guys go around somewhere else? And so then I'm like distraught. Like, I'm so like, oh, my God, this is the most like fucked up situation I could ever be in. John, that's crazy, by the way. It's so crazy to say. Hey, look, guys. Just on all sides. Because meanwhile, when Julia, you ended up coming up to the Rolls Royce. Yeah. And bitching us out. Yeah. And while Julia is yelling at us, like, because Alex was sitting in the back. So she take turns. She takes turns yelling at the front seat and in the back. And the second she'd go yell at Alex, Ilya would look right at John and go, I'm going to fucking murder you. Because like it was like that was also crazy that like that conversation that we were having, us guys, got over to Julia. No offense. But you know what I mean? Like if that happened the other way, you'd feel betrayed. Like it was just it was very you played all sides and it was fucking crazy. And Julia, I've never seen you that upset. No, I was so upset. You were almost on the brink of tears. I cried. I got. So then they ordered me an Uber home and I cried in the Uber. And the Uber driver was like, is everything OK? And I was like, yeah, my boyfriend's just an asshole. Oh, OK. I didn't know that. I did. I cried home. John. Hey, man. Yeah, it was messed up. And then I remember I remember John was like trying to try to order the Uber and we're like making sure that it's like a black. And he's being really weird about it. He didn't want to order the black XL. Honda Corolla. Yeah, I'm like, we'd be broken up on the spot. I'd be like, bye, if you got me a Honda Corolla and told me to tell my girlfriend. What's a Honda Corolla, guys? Yeah, guys, I mean, Toyota Corolla. What the fuck? John, when you when he said it, too, I knew that he said it. I know I said it wrong, too. Wait, John, when it initially sparked up, it's like, boys' night, you get the text. What day was that? That day of? No. No. Two days before? I think three days before. No, because it was supposed to be Friday, and we canceled on Friday, and we moved it to Saturday. Did you forget that you planned a night with Julia that night, so you felt bad, and you were like, I need to bring her and make this work? No, he was all day with Julia. He was at her family's house or something. He had also been asking me to go to this party two days before. Oh. Well, here's the problem. John don't give a fuck about boys' night. God forbid. John likes having his girlfriend around. That's all I got to say. No, no, no, no, no. The problem is. Wait a minute. That's not the problem. I think John cares about boys' night. It's what Julia said. John asked her to go to that party already. Yeah. There's your problem. Days before. When did you ask? Oh, yeah, I could see that. I could see that happening days before. Yeah. You can't say, hey, babe, let's go to the biggest house in LA, and then say, hey, actually, I'm going with Dave and Al. And generally, Ilya. And Ilya. But also, like, I kind of just, even if he were to do that, I wouldn't be mad at him. I would rather him, like, tell me before. And that's why I was so mad at them, too, because I was like, wait, I thought we had a type of relationship where you guys can be like, hey, it's actually a boys' night. Okay, okay. Now, Taylor and Natalie, you guys can chime in, and Jason. Jay, she has a mic. That, who do you think. Jesus Christ. This is so messy. Who do you. Who do you think got, like, do you think we deserve to be yelled at as, like, who was the main problem? What are the percentage breakdowns for issues? Obviously, John's communication is the problem. Nat, go. Yeah, John is the source of the problem. He's the root of the problem. But you guys make the conscious decision to be friends with John on a daily basis, so you guys. Okay. I was. No. Okay, hold on, hold on. I mean, I agree with that, but hold on. Yeah, that's a little. No, take that back. No, take that back. I say this all the time. But this is the first time that it was anything like. Like, obviously, from here on out, we know now, boys night, we're sending an Amber Alert out, you know, to any of our friends. Like, we have to communicate on his behalf. But for the first time, it doesn't feel like it's a thing for us to text his girlfriend and be like, hey, Jules, I know John's inviting you, but we've been trying to communicate with him that it's a boys night. Also, side note, my issue with you guys wasn't that. Like, obviously, I was mad at him. I was mad at him. I was mad that you didn't say that, whatever. Like, now we know going forward, you guys can't tell me that. But my biggest issue was how you guys treated me and Hannah when we were at the party. Because if it were me and you guys, like, showed up on a date or something, I would never treat you guys the way you treated us. No, no, no. It was super weird. I agree. We were, like, sitting by the. Well, because Ilya was just going off. Yeah, he was just yelling at me. And, like, it was no place for you two to be there because he was just going off on John. Yeah. And, I mean, obviously, I was enjoying it. Because I love. I love when Ilya or anybody is yelling at anybody. So I was just sitting there. It's like, yeah, we should have definitely started to communicate with you guys there. But it was just. It was in the heat of the moment. I've never seen Ilya like that. I've never seen John caught in between, like, a fucking. The hardest spot. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, again, I take responsibility. Wow. This is the first time you're saying that. Yeah. It was my fault, you know. In my head, you know, the million and one chance did not happen. Like, where I could have, you know, my girlfriend in the same party as my other, you know, friends. You totally could. Normally. Any other day. Did you think we just weren't going to see each other at all? It's that big? Honestly? John's, like, dressed up as Miss Doubtfire. He's, like, running from one table to the next in different outfits. He's got a suit and tie on for his girlfriend. He's got, like, a Miami outfit on for the boys. I mean, yeah. Yeah. I mean, honestly. I, yeah, it was. Okay. Well, now we know. Next time. Julia, we're sorry for how we were at the party. That was really rude of us. And from now on, we will actually communicate, actually, on behalf of John. And that's our responsibility as friends of John to understand that he needs a helper. No. You know, yeah. I mean, I just, I got to. It is one of my weaknesses. Speaking. Yeah. Many strengths. I'm a man of many strengths, which is one weakness. It's honestly my kryptonite, you know? Yeah. English. All right. Well, thanks for apologizing. Well, thanks for coming on the pod. Anytime. Hopefully we don't fight anymore. It took a lot out of me. No, I know. I couldn't believe it. What were you saying when Julia was yelling at you? Well, I was just. Well, luckily we were. I know what you were doing. Why? Just like shriveling up. Well, I just kept looking at Ilya and Ilya was just like, I'm going to fucking kill John. I'm going to kill John. And I'm like, no, I'm going to kill John. John's a little fucking bitch. He's so mad at John. So mad at John. Are you guys going to redo Boys Night? It's going to be a while. It's going to be a long one, I think. It's kind of tough to get that going. And why it also meant a lot is because I had. Like, I have to manipulate Ilya into Boys Night, right? Like, I sent a text a week before being like, hey, we should go to Chicago for Lollapalooza. I'll buy. I'll buy all the tickets. Just knowing that he's going to say no to that. Right. Just so that I could be like, well, I guess if you don't want to go to Chicago and go out, maybe we just do something here. And then he's like, you know, he's like, yeah, that's a lot easier. Right. So, like, it's a long thing to put together a Boys Night. What did you guys hope to accomplish on Boys Night? That's what I want to know. Like, let's say. Yeah, exactly. I'm like, what are you guys going to do? Like, suck each other's dick or something? We literally make you guys have more fun. Like, that's the thing. Like, you think you're having more fun by yourself, but, like, with the girls, like, vibes are through the roof. So, let's say John communicates that to Julia. Guys, this is. Come on, this is. Hang on, hang on, hang on. What happens? Let's say John communicates that to Julia. And Julia's like, okay, cool. Yeah, go have Boys Night. Okay. What happens? I think the main objective is just to get, like, unfiltered, raw Ilya. Yes. Right? Because we can't get that. We can't. You can't be unfiltered and raw with girls around, period. Right? Like, boys, like girls, need to have their alone time, with their sex. Like, that's just, like, a thing. Yeah? Yeah. Natalie has Girls Nights. She loves those. I'm forbidden from those, actually. So, would Ilya have, like, had alcohol and actually, like, partied and had fun? No. Okay. Just say yes. So. I don't think it would have gone that far. I don't think we had him, like, that kind of a Boys Night. But it would have gone a lot further. Well, actually, it's. I can't really tell. He would have done push-ups. Actually, he would have. Because he really liked that party we were at. And I think if he wasn't stressed, he would have started putting them down. What's raw, unfiltered Ilya like? It's not, like, what's raw Ilya. It's just, like, what any guy is like, right? I like this. It's just, like, you have boys talk. Like, you know, lame, like. You talk about girls? Yeah, you talk about girls. Like, what are you talking about? UFC? Spider-Man? Yeah, Spider-Man. You just sound like a big, like, 12-year-old loser. That's what this is coming off as. What are you talking about? You literally have Girls' Nights with pajamas and you guys bake shit. Like. I don't think I've, like, literally ever done that in my life. But, yeah, I will sometimes, like, get, like, a glass of wine and, like, a good meal or something. Yeah, that's fucking weird. Oh, and then Julia got mad at me because she's like, I invite you to all my Girls' Nights where we're doing fucking coloring books. It's true. Which I have joined in on. And then she uninvited you. Alex has been to every single one of my Girls' Nights. You invite Al to your coloring book Girls' Nights? Yeah, I'm like, come on! Well, I'm just here. I'm like, come join! I don't look at him like, hey, can you go at a different part of the house? Julia was so pissed where she was like, when you guys get back home, all your stuff's gonna be outside. Yeah. Like, all of us. Is that what she said? Yeah, and we were like, what? I told him I was gonna hide all of his car keys. I was close to sleeping in the guest room. Yeah. Okay, because you guys are kind of, like, 12-year-old boys. Yeah, and then I was like, you guys are all 30. Like. Which is why it's important for us to once in a while, we don't have Boys' Night at all. Yeah, but you don't have to be like, you're, like, so weird about it. You sound like a teenage boy. I don't know what's going on here. Jay, whose side are you taking, man? I think you guys. I mean, there's not really a side. There's not really a side. We really decide. No, I take. I'm always in defense of John. Okay, that's the last side to be on, actually. That is the only wrong side. Hey, sorry. I'm in defense of John in that. So, like, you guys are 30, and as soon as Julia got into that role, as Royce, you should have just been like. But that wasn't on that. Okay, well, what not? Exactly. Like, we can't. I can't. Drop it. You drop it right away. You're like, okay, John fucked up. But John already had, like, so, like, fucked up so much that it, like, it feels like it was kind of irreversible, right? No. Because the text is what set her off, like, officially. The text comes. Exactly. When you got into the roles, when you left the house and Julia was there, it's like, okay, drop Boys' Night, we'll do it another night. Okay. And be done with it. Okay, yeah, but it was. But there's things set in motion, Jay. Ilya has already said goodbye to his girlfriend and he's on her way. You wanted Ilya to come to the party and yell at John. You know that was in the back of your head. I know how you think. Of course I did. Exactly. Why is that wrong? You're in the car and you're like, oh, man, I'm gonna get Ilya to that party and he's gonna fucking light John up. No, no, no. You should have said right then and there, yeah, Julia's in the car and sent Ilya a text like, hey, Boys' Night's off. That's it. What? No, but then Ilya would never. And if Ilya wants to come, he can come. No, I'd rather have Ilya come and yell than Ilya stay at home. Okay, so that's fucked up. Yeah. What? Why? He needed to be yelled at. That was like the quick. No, he didn't need to be yelled at. It was the biggest backstabbing I've ever fucking received for Boys' Night. It's not that much of a backstab. Backstabbing is a very strong word. No, he's done. He's done with what? He'll be back. He can't charge the car. You're so full of shit. He can't charge his Tesla. You'll be begging to hang out with John in like six hours. No, obviously, I would love hanging out with John. I don't know where this is going. Yeah. Jay, when was the last time you had a Boys' Night? Me? Yeah. I had one last week. We all sat around and talked about colonoscopies. It was great. You guys don't talk about girls during your Boys' Night? No, it's all married guys. That's exactly why you would talk about girls. Guys don't do that. Those guys don't. I mean, that's just like not even. Everyone just checks their cock at the door. What the fuck? What? So what do you guys talk about at these Boys' Nights? Well, John usually leads all the conversations. Right. Oh, he's such a dick. Yeah, fuck you, John. Get the fuck out of here. I've never once heard John say anything sexual about anyone. Yeah. That's crazy. John, tell us who you want to have an orgy with. Anne Hathaway and who? Julia, how do you feel about John's love of Anne Hathaway? You know, I support it. You do? Yeah. That's nice. If Anne Hathaway was younger, would it freak you out? I don't think so because, I mean, I love Harry Styles. Yeah, but I'm so open about that. But if it was like, oh, okay. And he's, like, younger. But if it was, like, Sidney Sweeney? I don't think I would care. I mean, it's a celebrity crush. Everyone has him. Wow. Okay. I just don't, I think, like, in L.A., it's weird to have a celebrity crush. Why? What? You think, you think we could just touch celebrities or something? Like, what do you mean? Okay, that's crazy. That's weird. Like, I'm saying, like, physically see them, like, in person or something. You gotta save this shit for Boys' Night. What if Anne Hathaway showed up at Boys' Night? What would you do? And Julia was home. What do you mean she showed up at Boys' Night? She showed up at that party. Obviously, there's a lot, girls are allowed to be at the party. Yeah, I know. I'm asking John. What would John do? I'm asking John what he would do. Oh. What if you're sitting at the bar? Julia's home. Yeah. You're at the bar. Yeah. Everything's going well. You're a little bit Anne Hathaway comes up and says, hey, I'm looking for a Corona. What do you say? A Corona? Yeah. I don't know. Oh, man. He's already clustered. Corona. What is that? Coronavirus? What? You sick? I work in a lab. All right, dude. I can show you. Okay, easier one. Julia's at home. You've had three beers. Okay. This is boys night conversation. You wanted to hear it. Here you go. Okay. Anne Hathaway walks in the bar. Yeah. Walks beeline straight to you. Okay. Goes, I don't know who you are, but I've been dreaming about a Filipino man. Your size. And I don't want a relationship. I don't want anything. I just want one wild night right now. Come with me to my home. My driver's outside. No one will ever know about this. What do you do? You fucker. I don't know. What? Wow. You don't know? I don't know what I would do. John! Stop doubling down on it! You say no. Okay, right, right. What the fuck is wrong with you? That's so unfair to ask that. You know he's not going to handle it. I gotta go. I gotta go. Okay, can I put an addendum on this? Your relationship's over. This is fucked up. Julia, shut up! I don't know! Same thing. Same exact thing Dave said, except Anne Hathaway says, I know you have a girlfriend. You just call your girlfriend right now and ask her if we can have one night together. Jesus Christ. I don't know. John, John, John. Your girlfriend is sitting two feet away from you. The answer is just no, point blank, period. No matter if it even is yes. Right, yeah, I know. I mean, I'm just putting myself, you know, in that situation. Dude, you are literally terrible. Yeah, yeah. Like, you're actually terrible. No! Come on, I mean, come on. It's like a one in a million, but I'm like. I'm going to say no, obviously. What is wrong with you? I just did the math. Oh, my Lord. Oh, my Lord. Oh, my Lord. Oh, my Lord. Why did I do this? I genuinely thought it was a layup for him to go the other way, especially after everything that's been going on. I thought he was going to make a joke like, Anne, stay away from me. But no, he was like, okay, let me weigh the options here. It's one in a million, so I should probably take the odds over, under. All right, Julia, same situation for you. It's girls' night. It's you, Hannah, Natalie, Tay, Harry Styles walks in, British accent. He's a little sweaty from his show. Come on. Yeah. Come on. Really? And he's like, he's like, and he's like, Julia, my driver's outside. Driver's outside. Come back to my house. One Direction will perform and then we'll make love, and we'll make sweet love all night. I would say I have two hot single friends here. Oh, damn. And I would put my friends forward. And then obviously I could still get on. Dead ass. If I had my friends there with me, I would totally put them in there. What the fuck? This is your, like. Yeah, and they would tell me everything afterwards. That's your Anne Hathaway. Like, what? No, wait, One Direction performing? Well, Liam's dead. They're all there. This is a made-up situation. No, even in that scenario, I genuinely would put one of my single friends in there. I'd be like, dude, go for it. And that's how you answer that question, John. That's crazy. John goes, that's crazy. I mean. There's no way. A thousand percent. I would be like, dude, go for it. Tell me how it is after. Nat, do you think Julia's being honest? I do. Yeah, a hundred percent. That's the right thing to do. I'm getting so frustrated. John, like, you're actually frustrating me. There's no way. I'm just curious, like, John, you're going to take Anne Hathaway to her bed and you're going to sleep with her? No, obviously. In this hypothetical. I know it's hypothetical. I mean. It's a hypothetical situation. I mean, come on, guys. But you won't even, like, talk about sex to, like, your friends. But you're going to somehow slay your celebrity crush, you know? Yeah, that's true. I will say this. John, at boys' night, doesn't talk. Let me defend him a little bit because he's actually coming off kind of strange. At boys' night, he doesn't. I don't. He doesn't talk. He doesn't entertain any conversation about girls. Yeah. At all. He doesn't do that. So this is why this hypothetical situation is actually very confusing. And what Natalie is saying is accurate, like, for a guy who's never brought up sex in his life. But somehow, when presented with a dream opportunity, he's going to capitalize. No, I think he was saying, I don't know, like. I don't know. Obviously, I wouldn't have sex with her, but I don't know how I would respond. Yeah. Is what he meant. Oh, like, I don't know how. I would say no. Yeah. Like, yeah. And, you know, we. Obviously, we took that and we ran with it to make him look horrible. Right. Because that's what we do. Yeah. We did do that. Okay. John, I'm sorry for giving you that question. Julia, I'm sorry for giving him that question. Yeah, it's fine. I'm sorry for revealing his true colors, Julia. Yeah, thanks for revealing him now. Five years in. You really don't know a guy. Five years in, you finally know. Okay, so no Anne Hathaway movie premieres for John. Just in the slightest. No, yeah, take him. Just in the slightest. Let's see what actually happens. Just let me know. Wow, that'd be a really good video to. Yeah. When you watch an Anne Hathaway movie, do you, like, really enjoy it? I just. I love it. Yeah. Like, she's a good actor. I don't know. We watched the Odyssey and he was like, she's looking a little old. Yeah, but they made her look old in that one. Jesus, John. You know? They made her look old in that one. Yeah. John, I'm just so confused on so many different levels. Dude, in Odyssey, she's like. No, no, no, no. I understand the Odyssey thing. I'm confused by. One, your infatuation with Anne Hathaway of all people dumbfounds me. And two, just the fact that you're capitalizing on this fantasy of Anne Hathaway. And then three, you won't even, like, fully indulge in Anne Hathaway. You just call her old-looking, which is, like, triple, quadruple rude. I'm saying for the movie, for the movie. She doesn't look like that in person, obviously. Come on, guys. You've never met her, John. I mean, I don't know. So we all don't know. What? I don't know. I don't know. I think the rest of us know, brother. It's just you. John's like, so Julia would fuck Harry and I would fucking Anne Hathaway. That's it for today's podcast. Thank you for listening. Wow. Why can't we ever talk in this podcast about, like, positive, you know? About me. Every time I'm put in this room, I'm always getting yelled at. Every time. I have not come here for once for, like, John, how was your day? No, it was like, John, this is what you did. Okay. Let's say nice things about John. Nat, go first. John, I like your smile. Oh, thanks, Nat. John, I think you're, I mean, you know this. You're the most important part of this friend group. 1,000%. 1,000%. That's really nice. Thanks. And we were talking about you in the John is dumb chat. Yeah. And we were. And then, unfortunately, you're not in, but we were just talking about how important you are. Thank you. Yeah. We were talking about this moment when, we were talking about this moment when John fucked up, and Aaliyah was like, Aaliyah was like, then Julia freaked out on us. Fuck, maybe John's going through it. Sometimes when people are hurt inside, they do stupid shit. I just don't want him to be mad at himself, and then this group chat gets leaked, and we all get canceled. So then Aaliyah started, we started a new group chat with John, and it's called the John is awesome chat. And the first message is, John, you're the best, and we couldn't do anything without you, and we love you. And then he came back to the John is dumb group chat, and he goes, what a fucking moron. No, no, yeah. Wow. All right, not to change gears here quickly, but guys, I have seen Spider-Man. I know it's been my long-awaited review, I've been wanting to give it. I went to go see it two times now. I went to go see it with Jason and Natalie, and everybody. What did you guys think first? I mean, I love the Spider-Man movies. Is this spoiler-free, or are we allowed to do spoiler? Probably spoiler-free, just in case. Spoiler-free, okay. Yeah, spoiler-free. First of all, Spider-Man is doing the best. It's beating Endgame in how well it's doing, which is fucking crazy. Really? Opening day did better than Endgame, and I think that's because they don't have IMAX screens. I have this whole theory, and the fact that they didn't go to, like even for me, it was easier to buy tickets, and I thought about it less, because they didn't have IMAX screens. Sometimes, movies only have IMAX screens, and they sell out, and then I'll be like, well, I'm not buying a ticket right now. So I kind of just postpone it, because I want to only see it in IMAX. Got it. But this time, there was no option to see it. So every movie time, there's like 40 show times a day at every theater, where you can go see this fucking movie. So it was really easy to buy a ticket, and I think that's why so many people bought. And now they're doing an even smarter thing, where now they're releasing it in IMAX. In a week. Okay. So everybody that's already seen it, is going to go back. They're going to make so much fucking money, it's actually absurd. Okay, I think it's the best, I don't know if this is a hot take, actually. I think it may be the best Spider-Man, that we've ever had. Why? Why do you say that? Just as a character, or this movie specifically? If I put nostalgia aside, I think Tom is just, if all three of them were to come out at the same time, and I didn't have this crazy, crazy affinity towards Tobey Maguire, Tom Holland would be the clear winner. Tom Holland is fucking Spider-Man. He's all sides of it, right? He's cool, he's nerdy, he fits the build, he's cute, and he's charming, and he's smart. And he's funny, and he's smart. Yeah, he's all of it. He looks youthful. Yeah, and he actually could do the things that Spider-Man does. He's humble. He can actually move, it's just like, he is the best Spider-Man. Yeah. But, if someone were to ask me what Spider-Man movie should we put on, I would never say this one. Okay. Like, if it's a one-off. Do you know what I mean? Because this wasn't the most action-packed. Right. This is the Spider-Man where he fights the biggest villain, Green Goblin, or Doc Ock, or I'd say go watch No Way Home, or go watch one of the original Spider-Mans. But if you've seen all the Spider-Man movies, and you're just a fan of Marvel, I think this is the best movie that's come out. I don't know. How do you take it, Jay, as an old guy who walked out at some important parts to use the bathroom? The Regal Cinemas, the medium Coke is just like. Diet Pepsi, actually. Diet Pepsi is just. Huge. Do you think Regal, when they get that contract, they're like, ah, fuck, we got Pepsi. I was thinking about that during the movie, actually. That should be the slogan for Pepsi. Is Pepsi okay? No, no, no, no, no, no. I actually disagree. You like Pepsi? Yeah, as a big Diet Coke drinker, I've needed to switch my ways, and I have, and I've been doing. I've been doing Pepsi now. I love Pepsi. Really? And actually, that's a selling point for me to go to Regal. Really? Anybody else think Pepsi's better than Coke? I don't really have a preference between the two. Really? That Pepsi was incredible ass. I finished the whole large, and I never finished my drinks. I got a medium. I could barely lift it. You know what's amazing? That's why I had to pee. You know what's amazing about seeing a movie the second time? What? You could drink all you want. Go to the bathroom as many times as you want. Yeah, that's nice. It feels so good. But you guys were getting up fucking Natalie. Got up like three times times and the weirdest fucking time weirdest time weirdest time she check her phone and when she checks her phone she like holds it right to her face like doesn't even like try to hide it thank god i didn't see that oh my god it was infuriating i was three seats away from her oh and it was like stressing me out you guys are such movie nazis that's so crazy she got up when the hulk was battling yeah that's crazy it can't bother you that much you've already seen the movie how could that bother you but she should know like who she's got to know her like audience like she's going with the biggest fucking marvel people and when this when you're in the middle of a fight scene to get up it's like that's crazy it just like disrupts everybody's did you think that that was weird weird but not out of character no not out of character but i was like oh my god i i got it and i totally see it from her point of view she's green monsters battling a guy in fucking tights yeah like it's time to check my phone if you're a girl and you're like don't care about this shit you're like this is exactly when i go like zendaya's not on screen i'm just gonna go yeah but like to me i'm like you're fucking crazy um but what'd you think jay i liked it i thought it was really great i i liked that it was like um it felt like a little smaller a little more subtler than yeah it was like the other films i don't understand why it made more money than endgame trying to figure that out i think it was just i think it's the toms and it's like the press around it and yeah people just fucking love them no i think nothing's bigger than spider-man i really think spider-man's the biggest theory is really i think that's it because all you can't see any imax i think it's yeah yeah the imax theaters it's like it's like you know like in and out only has a couple options on the menu yeah it's like that allows you to make a decision easier yeah i think it's the same thing omitting the imax screens it's such an easier decision to make when you're buying tickets because you're like yeah i'm gonna go at 330 the studios must know that i think they're just i think they may have just found out oh really i don't know and what was that remember that thing in the group chat you were like i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know what uh spider-man in x 40x no not 40x you had something else for like the screen was like on the side on the left and right what was that i thought that was 40x no it's not 40x no you sent it in the group chat you're like should we go see it in this i don't know there's so many ways to watch movies now yes you could do it where this is basically a 270 degree screen around you okay where you watch um but not all the scenes are like perfectly shot for that right and spider-man's the first movie to be shot for that screen but that doesn't mean all the all the shots like sometimes they'll just put like color on the side of the screens just if they don't have the filling for it right um but also where we were the theater we were at you could sit in these seats called magnify eight or something something like that and there it's three rows of seats that have like extra speakers in them and extra vibration oh wow which is really it's not like 4d but it's just like a little bit extra kick for you to feel i think it's like a subwoofer in the seat wait you know how you're excited about thomas crown affair yeah so before i got to the movie last night they showed the trailer oh so i was like damn this looks sick michael b jordan michael b jordan looks cool yeah i was like damn i'm gonna see this i'm gonna see this shit this looks good but then at the in the trailer the very last moment of the trailer do you remember it he like he does like this most effeminate like jump off a cliff uh where he's like you gotta follow me yeah he's like follow me and he like it like ruined the whole trailer like wait a minute this guy's not like what oh really like why did they include that oh i think yeah he's cool but that one moment was like run the whole saga yeah um i really liked it i am curious why you think it's like the best like i think i i just think like emotionally it had like the most it had like no it wasn't doing silly things like bringing in spider-mans where it was like a cheap it was like a well-earned like character developing like it was like they've earned it through all the movies where it was exciting to watch could they have done a little better maybe but like i just think that felt cool yeah and it wasn't like and i actually prefer these kinds i prefer like the no way homes i prefer the infinity wars i prefer the end games where it's like all these characters and it feels like you're on a roller coaster ride i prefer that but this was just like a nice change of pace to have like some emotion in it what about spider-man 2 with toby maguire i mean that that kind of had the same vibe i mean i love all the toby's even spider-man 3 i don't know i wish they had the emotional i know that like that's probably gonna come more so like as it continues but i was like on the brink of a tear i cried throughout the entire thing the entire thing how many more spider-man do you think you'll make with tom holland i mean well i think they'll probably do it till he dies yeah they're gonna crank so you think he'll be 45 making spider-man i don't know he's already been doing it for so long did you see that tom holland clip of like where he manifested everything in his life no it's so funny they're like who's your celebrity crush and he's like zendaya and then it's an edit of him marrying zendaya and then it's like and then someone asked him like would you ever play a spider-man he's like yeah maybe in like five years that'd be really cool he's like fucking 12 in it then he's spider-man and then someone's like what's your favorite video game and he's like well i love uncharted and then he's the fucking lead of the uncharted movie like he manifested everything in his life wow it's really funny that's really cool did you see the trailer for dune yeah dude well that's what's so zendaya had what the drama release earlier with robert pattison earlier this year yeah then she had the odyssey yeah then she had spider-man and now she is dune at the end of the year there's only like seven actors though yeah oh and all these movies yeah it's the same seven yeah it's robert pattison in dune timothy chalamet yeah there's only seven movie stars zendaya tom holland john bernthal it's like the same same same young cast that's being thrown around i guess that makes sense but did you see the trailer for zendaya and then she had the odyssey and then she had the but the dune movie when i saw the trailer nothing against it i was like i've never seen this i have no interest in watching it is it good what is that like fun yeah dude's fun i'm not the biggest dune guy right but i've seen the trailer for the odyssey one that version is the coolest that opening scene oh yeah yeah that's really yeah i guess i did see it at the odyssey yeah that's the cool the monster comes out dune 2 made me like dune 1 a lot more so yeah like i'm almost there but i always yeah i have the worst memory so i already don't know what happened i do like chalamet so maybe i would like it love chalamet yeah um but all right guys listen that's all the time we have for today's pod thank you guys for listening joining us and we will see you guys for the next views podcast bye guys

Summary:

" Dave, Alex, Ilya, and John planned a guys-only evening, but John secretly invited his girlfriend Julia and her friend Hannah to the same party, failing to tell them it was meant to be exclusive.
